Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Tammy Hembrough
- 0:13Speaker 1: forced to change wedding plans after invite leak. As she
- 0:17Speaker 1: binds shut center activewear brand amid health battle. Brit Hockley's
- 0:21Speaker 1: epic engagement and the PR push for Mitch Orville's tiny trucks.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But first, the wait is over. Sarah's Day has finally
- 0:30Speaker 1: revealed the gender of her baby after keeping followers on
- 0:33Speaker 1: the edge of their seats for four weeks. Prior to
- 0:37Speaker 1: breaking the news, Sarah's comment section was inundated by impatient
- 0:41Speaker 1: followers urging her to share the news. Amy, this week,
- 0:45Speaker 1: one follower's question was the last straw for Sarah. Yeah,
- 0:48Speaker 1: so under one of Sarah's recent posts, a follower excitedly asked,
- 0:53Speaker 1: when is the gender reveal? I cannot wait. To which
- 0:55Speaker 1: Sarah responded, I answered this in depth two days ago.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Kurt has basically been away and MIA, so I am
- 1:02Speaker 1: raising two children alone. I have them basically every single
- 1:06Speaker 1: day and have no time to even film an outro.
- 1:09Speaker 1: It will be uploaded when I have time. I want
- 1:11Speaker 1: to add there were no smiley face emojis. No emojis
- 1:14Speaker 1: to speak of. I was very taken aback by this response.
- 1:18Speaker 1: As you could tell that this follower was just genuinely
- 1:21Speaker 1: excited and they weren't asking out of malice at all.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I was also surprised that she threw so much shade
- 1:27Speaker 1: at Kurt because she is basically saying Kurt has left
- 1:31Speaker 1: his pregnant wife alone to raise two kids. I wonder
- 1:35Speaker 1: if they had just had an argument or something and
- 1:38Speaker 1: she responded mid-argument because it was a bit harsh. It's
- 1:42Speaker 1: confusing because in her vlog, She was singing Kurt's praises
- 1:45Speaker 1: and saying just how hard he had been working. Apparently
- 1:48Speaker 1: he had shoots from 7am till 9pm. So it's not
- 1:51Speaker 1: like he's off on some boy's trip. I mean, I
- 1:53Speaker 1: don't know if she was so much singing his praises.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I felt like she did have a bit of a
- 1:56Speaker 1: dig at the end of that video because she complained
- 1:58Speaker 1: that he wasn't even around to film the outro because
- 2:01Speaker 1: he is so busy. There are quite a few reasons
- 2:05Speaker 1: why there has been so much anticipation about this gender reveal.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And the first is because Sarah has confirmed it will
- 2:12Speaker 1: be her last pregnancy and it is her last opportunity
- 2:16Speaker 1: to potentially get a girl. And before she was pregnant,
- 2:19Speaker 1: she did make a very clickbaity YouTube thumbnail saying, my
- 2:23Speaker 1: boys want a sister. And it made it quite clear
- 2:25Speaker 1: that she and the rest of her family were very
- 2:28Speaker 1: excited for a girl. Well, she'd also been sharing clips
- 2:31Speaker 1: of Fox praying for a baby sister. Yeah. So there
- 2:34Speaker 1: was a lot of anticipation from the general public to
- 2:36Speaker 1: see if this was going to be a girl. And
- 2:39Speaker 1: I think the second reason there is so much anticipation
- 2:42Speaker 1: is because in a vlog four weeks ago, she told
- 2:45Speaker 1: her audience that they had already filmed the gender reveal
- 2:48Speaker 1: and it would be out very shortly. So this got
- 2:51Speaker 1: her followers ultra excited about this video. So A lot
- 2:55Speaker 1: of people were questioning, was she holding off from releasing
- 2:58Speaker 1: this video in a bid to generate more excitement, more anticipation,
- 3:03Speaker 1: more views? Because at the time of recording, her gender
- 3:07Speaker 1: reveal video is sitting on over 400,000 views, which is
- 3:11Speaker 1: quite a large amount of views for her currently. I
- 3:13Speaker 1: think a lot of people also assumed that maybe she
- 3:16Speaker 1: had got the news that she was having a boy
- 3:18Speaker 1: because she wasn't quick to put out the video because
- 3:21Speaker 1: perhaps she was disappointed because as we said, There has
- 3:24Speaker 1: been a lot of content around wanting a baby sister
- 3:26Speaker 1: for Fox and Malachi. Now, the highly anticipated gender reveal
- 3:30Speaker 1: video did come out on Thursday with Sarah revealing that
- 3:33Speaker 1: they found out the gender of the baby on the
- 3:36Speaker 1: 16th of April, so two months ago. And their doctor
- 3:40Speaker 1: did call with their NITP test results and Sarah said
- 3:43Speaker 1: that she cried with relief when she found out that
- 3:46Speaker 1: she was having a healthy baby. It would have been
- 3:49Speaker 1: a really stressful wait for them because during Sarah's last
- 3:52Speaker 1: pregnancy with Malachi, They did have abnormal test results show
- 3:56Speaker 1: up on his NITP test. Yeah, it would have been
- 3:59Speaker 1: such a relief for them. The doctor explained on the
- 4:02Speaker 1: phone to Sarah that she had sent through an email
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the test results, which also contained the gender. And initially,
- 4:09Speaker 1: Sarah and Kurt said that they were going to sit
- 4:11Speaker 1: on it for a week. And I think they were
- 4:13Speaker 1: going to film one of those I keep seeing them
- 4:15Speaker 1: around the place at the moment, a gender reveal, which
- 4:17Speaker 1: is filmed on the beach and they've got a cake.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And I think it was going to be very aesthetically pleasing,
- 4:22Speaker 1: but both of them said that they could not wait
- 4:24Speaker 1: any longer. So maybe that's why she's been so pissed
- 4:27Speaker 1: off at Kurt though, because I think She wants all
- 4:30Speaker 1: of those special, very Instagram worthy videos like they used
- 4:34Speaker 1: to film when Kurt didn't have so much work on.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So maybe that's where all the passive aggressive comments are
- 4:38Speaker 1: coming from. And I think also because she knows that
- 4:41Speaker 1: this is her last pregnancy, she did say that she
- 4:43Speaker 1: wants to do it right and she wants to really
- 4:46Speaker 1: enjoy those moments. They did end up getting Sarah's girlfriends
- 4:50Speaker 1: in on the act because Sarah forwarded her friends the
- 4:53Speaker 1: test results and they all got together to make her
- 4:56Speaker 1: a gender reveal cake. I don't know how I'd feel
- 4:59Speaker 1: about my friends knowing before me. I noticed she kept
- 5:01Speaker 1: referencing that she was sending her boys and Kurt over
- 5:04Speaker 1: with cake mix and also food dye. And I think
- 5:06Speaker 1: she was pushing that point because she didn't want to
- 5:08Speaker 1: get criticized for making her friends foot the bill of
- 5:11Speaker 1: the cake. I could tell in this vlog she was
- 5:13Speaker 1: very mindful of how she was coming across. I did
- 5:15Speaker 1: think it was funny because she said that she couldn't
- 5:17Speaker 1: see her friends' faces because she would instantly know the
- 5:21Speaker 1: gender of the baby. So she made them leave the
- 5:23Speaker 1: cake at the door. Was it just me or did
- 5:26Speaker 1: you think that maybe she had seen the results before
- 5:30Speaker 1: she had sent them to her friends? Because there was
- 5:31Speaker 1: this part of her video where she was talking to
- 5:33Speaker 1: Kurt and saying, Because I forwarded it, the PDF document
- 5:38Speaker 1: came up on my screen and I blurred my eyes
- 5:41Speaker 1: so I couldn't actually see the gender. I don't know.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I don't think she did see the gender. I think
- 5:45Speaker 1: she really wanted to wait and have that moment on
- 5:48Speaker 1: camera with Kurt. Yeah. But was she potentially preparing herself
- 5:52Speaker 1: for the disappointment of having a third boy? Yeah. I mean,
- 5:56Speaker 1: you do have a point there. I mean, before they
- 5:58Speaker 1: actually revealed the gender, she did also say on camera
- 6:01Speaker 1: that she genuinely thinks it's a boy and she already
- 6:04Speaker 1: feels like she knows her third son. But I was
- 6:07Speaker 1: wondering if that was her trying to look, I don't know.
- 6:10Speaker 1: She wasn't bothered. Well, no, I don't know if woo-woo
- 6:12Speaker 1: was the right word. Like, oh, I've predicted this because
- 6:15Speaker 1: all along she said, I've always thought I'm going to
- 6:17Speaker 1: have three boys. But she did point out that statistically
- 6:20Speaker 1: her doctors told her that if you already have two
- 6:23Speaker 1: of the same gender, you're 70 to 80% more likely
- 6:26Speaker 1: to give birth to that same gender again. She also
- 6:29Speaker 1: spoke about how that if she doesn't have a girl,
- 6:33Speaker 1: she will mourn and also have a sense of sadness
- 6:35Speaker 1: that she'll never have a daughter. But she wanted to
- 6:38Speaker 1: point out that it doesn't mean that she's sad about
- 6:40Speaker 1: having another boy. And I actually think that she was
- 6:42Speaker 1: quite tactful in the way that she spoke about it. Yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 1: because she has been criticized in the past for not
- 6:48Speaker 1: being very tactful, especially when she's talking about baby related issues.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And I actually, hats off to her, I think she
- 6:56Speaker 1: did a good job in this video. Because she also
- 6:58Speaker 1: spoke about how she was quiet. impacted by a couple
- 7:02Speaker 1: of her friends who were struggling with fertility at the moment.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And I think that you could tell that she was
- 7:06Speaker 1: really relieved to find out that her baby was healthy.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I found it amusing because you could tell Sarah was
- 7:12Speaker 1: trying to tiptoe around the fact that she really wanted
- 7:14Speaker 1: a girl, but Kurt was just there. Yeah, I want
- 7:15Speaker 1: a girl. Yeah, there Sarah is literally doing gymnastics to
- 7:19Speaker 1: sort of jump around the fact that she wants a
- 7:21Speaker 1: girl and be tactful and say all of the right things.
- 7:23Speaker 1: But Kurt was pretty honest about it. Is it wrong
- 7:26Speaker 1: to want a gender though, like a specific gender? I
- 7:28Speaker 1: don't think it is. I think we've spoken in the
- 7:30Speaker 1: past about gender disappointment and how it's okay, especially when
- 7:34Speaker 1: you've always thought you're going to have a particular gender.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I mean, even with Kate, when we found out she
- 7:40Speaker 1: was having a boy, I was really excited. But for
- 7:42Speaker 1: some reason I had in my mind that we were
- 7:45Speaker 1: going to have a little girl in the family. It's
- 7:46Speaker 1: hard when you have imagined something. I feel like we're
- 7:49Speaker 1: dragging out this gender reveal at this point. Let's get
- 7:52Speaker 1: into it because the gender reveal cake, it was a
- 7:54Speaker 1: homemade number by her friends. It was this white, long,
- 7:58Speaker 1: log looking cake with blue and pink sprinkles on top.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I felt like the homemade vibe of it was very
- 8:05Speaker 1: on brand for Sarah because it looked wholesome. It didn't
- 8:08Speaker 1: look like she was trying to be too garish and
- 8:10Speaker 1: over the top, which influencers can be criticized for. I
- 8:13Speaker 1: really liked it.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I was shocked that it was a homemade cake because
- 8:16Speaker 1: I saw the little thumbnail on YouTube and I assumed
- 8:19Speaker 1: they'd bought it. Well, at this stage, when the cake
- 8:21Speaker 1: was dropped off, it was 9.40. So her sons had
- 8:25Speaker 1: been put to bed and Kurt and Sarah were finding
- 8:28Speaker 1: out this information on their own. And when I first
- 8:30Speaker 1: watched this, I thought, well, that's a good move in
- 8:32Speaker 1: case there is some disappointment from the boys over what
- 8:34Speaker 1: it is. Now, we have been dragging this out for
- 8:37Speaker 1: long enough. I think it's quite obvious what the outcome is.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Let's throw to the clip of when they found out
- 8:43Speaker 1: they were having a boy. Ready? Set. Go. I got nothing. Oh, boy.
- 8:52Speaker 1: There's like one bit in the middle.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Oh, you can see it there.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Oh, I knew it. I've called this since I was seven,
- 9:01Speaker 4: but I still can't believe it.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm like, I am a boy. you can really see
- 9:05Speaker 1: it written all over their faces, the disappointment. It's like
- 9:08Speaker 1: when Ralph Wiggum gets his heart broken by Lisa Simpson
- 9:11Speaker 1: and you can pinpoint the moment of the disappointment coming through.
- 9:15Speaker 1: This is what I don't like about gender reveals because
- 9:18Speaker 1: it is literally written all over the parents' faces of
- 9:21Speaker 1: how they're feeling. And it's just that element of surprise
- 9:25Speaker 1: that's always awkward on camera. It is really awkward. What
- 9:29Speaker 1: was more awkward though? was when they revealed to the
- 9:32Speaker 1: boys what the gender was. Yeah, because questions quickly turned
- 9:36Speaker 1: to how they were going to tell their sons this news.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Straight away, as Kurt found out that it was a boy,
- 9:41Speaker 1: he was like, how are we going to tell the boys?
- 9:43Speaker 1: And he said, maybe we can just give them a
- 9:45Speaker 1: piece of this blue cake. And Sarah's like, no, no, no,
- 9:49Speaker 1: let's get a balloon and do one of those exciting announcements.
- 9:52Speaker 1: But that's unfortunately not really going to work with a
- 9:55Speaker 1: kid if it's the news that they don't want. Yes,
- 9:57Speaker 1: and it was disappointing news, especially to Fox, who burst
- 10:00Speaker 1: into tears when the blue confetti came out.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Of that balloon.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Well, I mean, in true vlogger style, of course, they
- 10:05Speaker 1: filmed the boys' reaction for this vlog. And it was
- 10:07Speaker 1: very uncomfortable to see poor Fox burst into tears. But
- 10:12Speaker 1: Sarah was crying too. Well, he was sobbing in her
- 10:15Speaker 1: arms and she said that she was crying because She
- 10:18Speaker 1: just felt sad because she could feel his disappointment. Let's
- 10:21Speaker 1: throw to what Sarah said about that moment.
- 10:29Speaker 4: So the next night we wanted to surprise the boys.
- 10:31Speaker 4: And honestly, it was a pretty emotional experience.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Fox was really looking forward to having a sister.
- 10:38Speaker 4: He has been pretty honest from day one that he
- 10:40Speaker 4: wants a sister. For the past few weeks, we've just
- 10:43Speaker 4: been navigating the these emotions and this conversation. Although Fox
- 10:46Speaker 4: was shocked and kind of disappointed in the moment, he's
- 10:50Speaker 4: definitely come around in the last six weeks where we've
- 10:52Speaker 4: just explained the dynamic of a boy household and having
- 10:55Speaker 4: another brother. So he's super excited to meet his brother,
- 10:58Speaker 4: but this was just an honest experience of him finding
- 11:02Speaker 4: out because sometimes it's not as we imagined.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I get that social media shouldn't always be a highlight
- 11:08Speaker 1: reel because that is definitely not the case when it
- 11:11Speaker 1: comes to all gender reveals. I think that there is
- 11:13Speaker 1: a level of gender disappointment that plays out across all households.
- 11:18Speaker 1: But where I feel uncomfortable is the fact that this
- 11:20Speaker 1: has been filmed and played to a large audience because
- 11:24Speaker 1: this little boy is going to watch this video one
- 11:27Speaker 1: day and always remember that his brother was disappointed that
- 11:32Speaker 1: he wasn't a girl. And I have spoken to so
- 11:34Speaker 1: many people growing up who still hold on to the
- 11:36Speaker 1: fact that their parents are disappointed that they were a
- 11:39Speaker 1: particular gender. The only thing I disagree with is that
- 11:42Speaker 1: I actually like that Sarah honestly shared the disappointment from
- 11:46Speaker 1: the family, because as you said before, it is a
- 11:50Speaker 1: really common thing. And I think it sort of normalizes
- 11:54Speaker 1: that people talking about it because before I think people
- 11:56Speaker 1: felt shameful for thinking, oh, well, I wanted a boy
- 11:59Speaker 1: and I got a girl. And You know, especially because
- 12:02Speaker 1: there's so much talk around being grateful for having a
- 12:05Speaker 1: healthy baby. It was quite funny because Sarah did check
- 12:08Speaker 1: in with Fox four weeks later to report how he
- 12:11Speaker 1: was travelling with this disappointment. But I think it made
- 12:14Speaker 1: things more awkward. Here's what he said. How do you
- 12:17Speaker 1: feel now?
- 12:17Speaker 4: Pretty good, but I want to see stuff.
- 12:20Speaker 2: What are we praying for?
- 12:21Speaker 1: I want to see stuff.
- 12:22Speaker 4: No, praying for just a healthy baby.
- 12:26Speaker 1: That is just such a realistic portrayal of children, though.
- 12:29Speaker 1: They're just not saying the right thing. I actually quite
- 12:31Speaker 1: enjoyed that in there. Fox and Malachi did also provide
- 12:35Speaker 1: some baby name suggestions, which probably aren't that far-fetched considering
- 12:39Speaker 1: their own name. So Fox suggested that the baby be
- 12:42Speaker 1: called Storm. I could say that. And Malachi suggested Hoggy
- 12:47Speaker 1: Moggy in Socks. I mean, he does get known as,
- 12:50Speaker 1: what is it, like Mui?
- 12:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So, I mean, that's not far off. Hoggy Moggy in Socks,
- 12:54Speaker 1: Malachi and Fox. Oh my God, that rhymes.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 1: You've heard it here first, potential name.
- 13:01Speaker 6: Joining us with more is Mitch Orville, co-founder of Tiny
- 13:04Speaker 6: Trucks Tribe, which makes machines just like this.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Mitch Orville has been lighting up TV screens around the
- 13:12Speaker 1: nation in his latest PR push for his new e-commerce business,
- 13:16Speaker 1: Tiny Truck Tribe. The latest promotion for his electronic kids
- 13:20Speaker 1: forklift comes off the back of mounting criticism over the
- 13:24Speaker 1: e-commerce business. Yeah, influencer watchdog account Aussie Influencer Opinions is
- 13:29Speaker 1: not happy they called Mitch out for being allegedly deceptive
- 13:33Speaker 1: in positioning himself as the founder of the business. When
- 13:37Speaker 1: in reality, it appears that there are multiple other businesses
- 13:41Speaker 1: which sell the exact same product he is selling. but
- 13:45Speaker 1: for almost $ 200 cheaper. Now, this week, Mitch appeared in
- 13:49Speaker 1: a Nine News Gold Coast story promoting his $ 575 kids forklift.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Mitch's son, Artie, also featured in the story, showing off
- 13:58Speaker 1: how the forklift work. Let's throw to the story.
- 14:01Speaker 6: Keep your ears to the ground and your eyes peeled.
- 14:06Speaker 1: The Tiny Trucks tribe is on the move.
- 14:11Speaker 6: A toy forklift founded by Gold Coast mates Mitch Orville
- 14:14Speaker 6: and Hayden Lowen designed to get kids outdoors.
- 14:17Speaker 5: There's new generations of kids stuck behind iPads and in
- 14:20Speaker 5: front of TV screens and, you know, they're our future
- 14:23Speaker 5: builders of the world.
- 14:24Speaker 6: The all-electric vehicle is rechargeable and comes with a seatbelt, lights,
- 14:29Speaker 6: and even a horn. Whilst it is a toy, it
- 14:31Speaker 6: is fully operational with a lifting capacity of 10 kilos,
- 14:35Speaker 6: which is equivalent to two toy boxes or three planks
- 14:38Speaker 6: of wood.
- 14:39Speaker 1: It has the durability and safety tick.
- 14:42Speaker 5: So we've done all due diligence necessary. We know that
- 14:44Speaker 5: when you're working with kids, there's lots of... and things
- 14:47Speaker 5: that you've got to take care of.
- 14:49Speaker 6: A skill test for parents and grandparents too who'll need
- 14:52Speaker 6: to assemble it.
- 14:52Speaker 5: It also comes with a remote control too, so if
- 14:55Speaker 5: your kid is a bit younger and can't control it themselves,
- 14:58Speaker 5: as a parent you can use that.
- 14:59Speaker 6: The toy retailing for around $ 600. Works are now in
- 15:03Speaker 6: the pipeline for a full fleet of construction vehicles. You
- 15:07Speaker 6: can head to Tiny Truck Tribe's website.
- 15:09Speaker 1: This is an absolute disgrace. I mean, I'm sorry, this
- 15:14Speaker 1: was a complete ad. For this product. I want to know,
- 15:18Speaker 1: who does Mitch know at Nine News Gold Coast? Or
- 15:21Speaker 1: who's his publicist? Because I mean, we have a PR company.
- 15:25Speaker 1: It's really hard to get stories on the news, particularly
- 15:28Speaker 1: a story where you're literally just trying to sell a product.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Hats off if he does have a PR team, because
- 15:34Speaker 1: as you said, the fact that there really was no
- 15:37Speaker 1: angle or hook to get any interest in the media, like,
- 15:40Speaker 1: How was that even a story in terms of them
- 15:43Speaker 1: referencing the website? Like you never, ever as a journalist,
- 15:47Speaker 1: like it came across as an advertorial. He head to
- 15:49Speaker 1: the website to find out more about this product.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Sorry, what? I mean, also from a journalistic perspective, there
- 15:56Speaker 1: were no stats. So, okay, let's think about it. Okay,
- 15:59Speaker 1: here's a stat showing that 80% of kids are spending
- 16:02Speaker 1: time on their iPads and there's, you know, the government
- 16:05Speaker 1: is trying to urge kids to get outside. There was
- 16:07Speaker 1: nothing like that. I actually just can't even believe that
- 16:10Speaker 1: this story went to air. But as you said, it
- 16:12Speaker 1: does make me think, who is Mitch Orville friends with
- 16:15Speaker 1: that works at Gold Coast Nine News? Because years ago
- 16:18Speaker 1: when he sold his house, there was this bizarre news
- 16:22Speaker 1: story where they did a whole story about his house
- 16:25Speaker 1: selling and they went through it and they did a
- 16:27Speaker 1: piece to camera in his movie room. But in that story,
- 16:30Speaker 1: they actually acknowledged that he was an influencer and had
- 16:32Speaker 1: some level of celebrity. Yeah. But in this story, they
- 16:35Speaker 1: didn't even reference that he's an influencer. It's just like
- 16:37Speaker 1: local guy sells a fucking truck. Well, the only small hook,
- 16:42Speaker 1: if you can even call it that, is the focus
- 16:45Speaker 1: on them being from the Gold Coast and some vague reference,
- 16:49Speaker 1: as you said, to minimizing the kids' screen time. But
- 16:51Speaker 1: they also reference them as founders, which has been disputed
- 16:56Speaker 1: because as Aussie influencer opinions pointed out, They don't appear
- 17:00Speaker 1: to be founders of this product. This product has been
- 17:03Speaker 1: sold on the internet for quite a while. It's exactly
- 17:06Speaker 1: like the Olivia White, that glassware. The Alibaba ones. Yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 1: the Alibaba glassware that was in the shape of like
- 17:12Speaker 1: a woman's body. And she did this huge PR push
- 17:15Speaker 1: and she sent it out to influencers saying, look at
- 17:17Speaker 1: these glasses. that I have designed. And then it literally
- 17:20Speaker 1: was found out that it was like two cents to
- 17:23Speaker 1: buy them off Alibaba. That's probably one of my favourite
- 17:25Speaker 1: stories we've actually covered. Well, Sophie, if you can believe it,
- 17:29Speaker 1: the publicity kicked up a notch the next day when
- 17:32Speaker 1: Mitch appeared nationally on the Today Show. So its hosts,
- 17:36Speaker 1: Sarah Arbo and Karl Stefanovic, even had their own electronic
- 17:40Speaker 1: forklifts in studio as they crossed to Mitch at his
- 17:43Speaker 1: home on the Gold Coast. Again, I've got to say,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I love Sarah Arbo, but there was no angle in
- 17:49Speaker 1: this cross. We actually used to work with Sarah Arbo
- 17:52Speaker 1: when she worked in the 10 Newsroom in Adelaide. She's
- 17:55Speaker 1: an absolute legend. So this is no shade on her.
- 17:58Speaker 1: This story does suit itself to more of a morning
- 18:01Speaker 1: show rather than a serious nightly news story because it's lighthearted.
- 18:06Speaker 1: It does make sense. You know, it's got the optics
- 18:09Speaker 1: of the cool, truck that kids can drive around in. Well,
- 18:13Speaker 1: the thing I was surprised about was I thought the
- 18:16Speaker 1: morning show might reference Mitch as being angry dad fame
- 18:20Speaker 1: and all of that kind of stuff, but they didn't.
- 18:22Speaker 1: They really just focused on the trucks. However, at the
- 18:26Speaker 1: end of the segment, Karl Stefanovic pointed out that the
- 18:29Speaker 1: forklifts shown in the studio were actually supplied by a
- 18:33Speaker 1: company called Junior Traders in Sydney. So they hire out
- 18:37Speaker 1: construction props for events and kids' parties and So it
- 18:40Speaker 1: was their way of making it clear that Mitch wasn't
- 18:42Speaker 1: the only supplier of these forklifts. I am impressed that
- 18:45Speaker 1: The Morning Show actually did that because I think that
- 18:48Speaker 1: they're showing that they're having to live up to a
- 18:50Speaker 1: bit of a higher journalistic integrity there because it's misleading
- 18:53Speaker 1: to say that this is the founder. He creates these
- 18:56Speaker 1: trucks when he doesn't. Well, they kind of still refer
- 18:59Speaker 1: to him as the founder, but technically he is the
- 19:01Speaker 1: founder of that company. But this story went off on Facebook.
- 19:10Speaker 1: thousand views on the today show's facebook page and there
- 19:13Speaker 1: were over 2 000 comments from excited potential customers tagging
- 19:17Speaker 1: their friends i would assume quite confidently that the tiny
- 19:20Speaker 1: truck tribes website would have been inundated with traffic and
- 19:24Speaker 1: surely those 100 pieces have sold out by now surely
- 19:28Speaker 1: they would have sold out by now i was shocked
- 19:31Speaker 1: though When I saw Kayla, it's seen us, was also
- 19:34Speaker 1: promoting these bloody trucks. Her son was driving around in one. Well,
- 19:38Speaker 1: it makes sense because Kayla's living on the Gold Coast now. Oh,
- 19:42Speaker 1: because I was going to say, well, it would be
- 19:44Speaker 1: hard to ship such a large thing to Adelaide. And
- 19:48Speaker 1: I mean, I wonder if that... means that she's now
- 19:51Speaker 1: connected with the orvilles and they're friendly being on the
- 19:53Speaker 1: gold coast together i'm not sure but speaking about delivery
- 19:57Speaker 1: the tiny trucks tribe instagram has been copying some negative
- 20:01Speaker 1: comments since all of the tv coverage So people have
- 20:04Speaker 1: been accusing the company of being a dropshipping business. And
- 20:07Speaker 1: someone also commented that you can buy the forklift on
- 20:11Speaker 1: eBay for $ 400 less. Now, tiny trucks have hit back.
- 20:14Speaker 1: They said, we were able to build these products for
- 20:17Speaker 1: much cheaper, but unfortunately that meant compromising on the quality
- 20:22Speaker 1: of the materials and the quality of the batteries we use. Sorry, what?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Since I have kids myself, I understood the importance of
- 20:29Speaker 1: using the highest materials We would rather spend more on
- 20:32Speaker 1: the product and be able to assure it's used the
- 20:36Speaker 1: best material that were made available to us. Could that
- 20:39Speaker 1: be any more confusing? Yeah, we are filming this quite
- 20:42Speaker 1: late at night and I wasn't sure if you were
- 20:44Speaker 1: just tired or if that sentence had no grammar whatsoever.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Is he suggesting that there are numerous suppliers who supply
- 20:51Speaker 1: these trucks? So maybe this truck is from a supplier
- 20:54Speaker 1: with cheaper goods. Yeah, I think that's basically what he's saying.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But the fact that he said we were able to
- 20:58Speaker 1: build these products, it just gives you this idea that
- 21:01Speaker 1: they've got this workshop. Yeah, he's out there. These two
- 21:03Speaker 1: dads from the Gold Coast are just putting these forklifts together.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I loved it because someone commented, bro, they know he
- 21:10Speaker 1: just drop shipping them. To which Tiny Trucks Tribe, aka Mitch, responded,
- 21:14Speaker 1: these products are manufactured, not drop shipped. We're happy to
- 21:18Speaker 1: show you through our warehouse if you would like to
- 21:20Speaker 1: see our physical product. Where are you located? To which
- 21:23Speaker 1: someone else responded, we would love to see a video
- 21:26Speaker 1: of your warehouse and a video of them being welded
- 21:29Speaker 1: up and engineered and painted. Interestingly though, after numerous requests
- 21:34Speaker 1: online for people saying, well, why don't you just film
- 21:36Speaker 1: the warehouse and show us, there's been no tour of
- 21:39Speaker 1: the warehouse shared online. That is disappointing. It is quite
- 21:42Speaker 1: interesting to reflect on the fact that Mitch did take
- 21:45Speaker 1: such a large hiatus from social media and vowed that
- 21:48Speaker 1: he didn't want to return and take part in it.
- 21:50Speaker 1: But now he is using the power of social media
- 21:53Speaker 1: to promote this new business. Now, aside from that, there's
- 21:56Speaker 1: also been questions raised over alleged fake reviews on the website.
- 22:01Speaker 1: So when Mitch launched Tiny Trucks Australia, they launched as
- 22:05Speaker 1: a pre-sale. So no products had actually gone on sale yet,
- 22:09Speaker 1: but there were already 30 reviews on the website. So
- 22:13Speaker 1: some super sleuths have uncovered that the customer photos attached
- 22:17Speaker 1: to some of these reviews show different product logos on
- 22:20Speaker 1: the forklifts, which is quite concerning because Aussie Influencer Opinions
- 22:24Speaker 1: has pointed out that fake reviews are illegal under the
- 22:27Speaker 1: Australian Consumer Law. So I'm assuming these reviews are from
- 22:31Speaker 1: family and or friends. or that these reviews have been
- 22:36Speaker 1: lifted from other websites that also sell the product. But
- 22:39Speaker 1: in any case, this really should be disclosed to the consumer.
- 22:43Speaker 3: You guys might know my wedding details recently got leaked online,
- 22:49Speaker 3: posted online accidentally.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough has admitted her recent invite leak has wreaked
- 22:56Speaker 1: havoc on her wedding plans, with the couple forced to
- 22:59Speaker 1: change key details that ensure the wedding remains a private affair. Now,
- 23:03Speaker 1: we spoke about the leak on Friday's episode, but just
- 23:06Speaker 1: to bring everyone up to speed, fellow influencer Sofa Dofa
- 23:10Speaker 1: accidentally leaked the details when she showed a close-up version
- 23:14Speaker 1: of Tammy's invite on her vlog.
- 23:16Speaker 7: What was she thinking?
- 23:18Speaker 1: It was just wild. And this led people to discover
- 23:21Speaker 1: Tammy's online wedding website, which had even more details about
- 23:26Speaker 1: the big day. Now, I really liked it because Tammy
- 23:29Speaker 1: doesn't usually address any controversy. She likes to ignore it.
- 23:34Speaker 1: But in this case, she created a TikTok addressing all
- 23:38Speaker 1: of the recent headlines that have been coming out about her.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Here's what she said about the leaked invites.
- 23:45Speaker 3: You guys might know my wedding details recently got leaked online,
- 23:51Speaker 3: posted online accidentally. This has caused a few issues for me.
- 23:57Speaker 3: I've had to change a lot of the details because
- 23:59Speaker 3: obviously we want it to be very private and it hasn't, yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 3: it's been a bit frustrating.
- 24:05Speaker 1: You'd be feeling so bad if you were so fed up.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I know that she didn't intentionally do it, but it
- 24:11Speaker 1: was pretty careless of her and it has had huge
- 24:13Speaker 1: ramifications for Tammy and Matt. Yeah, I don't know what
- 24:17Speaker 1: you would do to make it up to Tammy and Matt.
- 24:19Speaker 1: There would be so much awkwardness around it. Well, surely
- 24:23Speaker 1: she's going to drop a big present in the wishing well,
- 24:25Speaker 1: because that's been spoken about a lot. It's funny you
- 24:28Speaker 1: bring that up because Tammy in this video, she said that, oh,
- 24:32Speaker 1: I've seen somewhere online that someone is saying that I'm
- 24:35Speaker 1: expecting three to five grand from each wedding guest as
- 24:39Speaker 1: a present. And that was from Amber from Influencer Updates.
- 24:43Speaker 1: To be clear, Amber said that she might be expecting
- 24:46Speaker 1: presents between one to 2K because it is like a
- 24:49Speaker 1: celebrity wedding. But Tammy said, that is not the case
- 24:52Speaker 1: at all. That is absolutely absurd. I'm not expecting anything,
- 24:55Speaker 1: particularly not that. And she also did clear up the
- 25:00Speaker 1: wishing well. So she said that she was asked by
- 25:03Speaker 1: her family members, what do you want as a gift?
- 25:06Speaker 1: So she said, oh, well, I'll set up a wishing well.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Here's what she said.
- 25:10Speaker 3: I don't even know what to say about that. That
- 25:13Speaker 3: is obviously not true at all. I'm not asking for
- 25:15Speaker 3: donations at my wedding. This is meant to be for
- 25:18Speaker 3: my family and friends.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Remember that.
- 25:20Speaker 7: Remember that they wrote this article to do with the
- 25:23Speaker 7: fact that we had a wishing well, we will have
- 25:26Speaker 7: a wishing well. I think a wishing well is a
- 25:29Speaker 7: pretty normal thing for people to have at the wedding.
- 25:31Speaker 7: And we literally only had it because I kept having
- 25:35Speaker 7: people ask me like, Oh, like what, what about gifts? Like,
- 25:38Speaker 7: what do you want?
- 25:38Speaker 3: All my friends and family find it so funny that
- 25:41Speaker 3: this is even an article. None of them thought it
- 25:45Speaker 3: was weird, but apparently, to the world who are not
- 25:48Speaker 3: invited to my wedding. They think, yeah, it's really, well,
- 25:53Speaker 3: when I'm pretty sure like every wedding I've ever been to.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Has had that. I agree with Tammy because I think
- 25:58Speaker 1: it was wrong of the media to label it as donations.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Nobody thinks that you're donating to somebody. Donating to the
- 26:05Speaker 1: charity of Tammy Hammond. They were purposely trying to be
- 26:09Speaker 1: misleading in that headline by calling it donations. And as
- 26:12Speaker 1: I said on the Friday show, I think that Tammy
- 26:15Speaker 1: and Matt have every right to have a wishing well
- 26:18Speaker 1: if that's what they want to do. And it's quite
- 26:20Speaker 1: clear the family and friends, like as normal families do,
- 26:24Speaker 1: are saying, what do you guys want us to get you?
- 26:26Speaker 1: Because it's a gift to help set the couple up.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And I know obviously Tammy has already established herself with
- 26:32Speaker 1: potentially being worth $ 50 million, but it's still a nice gesture.
- 26:36Speaker 1: It is. And they might have plans as a couple
- 26:38Speaker 1: to put that money towards a honeymoon. Yeah. There was
- 26:41Speaker 1: also a lot of discussion around Tammy's decision to have
- 26:45Speaker 1: a child-free wedding, and many got their noses out of
- 26:49Speaker 1: joint because they assumed that it meant that her kids
- 26:51Speaker 1: wouldn't be in attendance. Now, Tammy cleared this up, confirming
- 26:54Speaker 1: her kids will be front and centre at her wedding,
- 26:57Speaker 1: but she just wants her guests to be able to
- 26:59Speaker 1: enjoy the day kid-free from their own children. Of course,
- 27:03Speaker 1: my children are going to be at my wedding.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I literally got emails from Daily Mail and all these
- 27:08Speaker 3: things asking me to comment on the fact that my
- 27:10Speaker 3: kids are not going to be at my wedding and
- 27:13Speaker 3: my kids are obviously going to be there.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I went to a christening recently and everybody brought their
- 27:18Speaker 1: kids along, which was fine, but I instantly saw why
- 27:22Speaker 1: people don't want kids at big days like weddings because
- 27:24Speaker 1: these kids were running amok. They were running down the aisle.
- 27:27Speaker 1: You couldn't concentrate on the actual baptism. I think it's
- 27:31Speaker 1: pretty shit that Tammy is having to defend her wedding
- 27:34Speaker 1: decisions due to this leak, but I kind of enjoyed
- 27:37Speaker 1: the fact that she's calling people out. Yeah. I also
- 27:40Speaker 1: enjoy that Tammy's been giving extra details, but I would
- 27:43Speaker 1: assume they would have expected this kind of media coverage
- 27:46Speaker 1: because there has been so much discussion on Matt's podcast
- 27:49Speaker 1: about the relationship itself. So of course, there's going to
- 27:53Speaker 1: be a lot of interest from the public and also
- 27:55Speaker 1: the media. Oh, definitely. I do think that she has
- 27:57Speaker 1: played it well, though, PR wise, because she said that
- 28:00Speaker 1: she was inundated by emails from journalists from the Daily
- 28:03Speaker 1: Mail and those sort of publications, and she didn't give
- 28:06Speaker 1: them any sort of quotes. But her going on her TikTok,
- 28:09Speaker 1: providing her explanation in her own terms, she's in control
- 28:13Speaker 1: of the way it comes across. And now it's led
- 28:15Speaker 1: to more media picking up on her quotes and actually
- 28:18Speaker 1: putting the article from her point of view. And I
- 28:20Speaker 1: think it has garnered some sympathy for her because I
- 28:23Speaker 1: think a lot of brides could relate to having to
- 28:26Speaker 1: change your plans due to something outside of your control.
- 28:29Speaker 1: But don't you think as well that when you hear
- 28:31Speaker 1: somebody talking about an incident like that, for example, the
- 28:34Speaker 1: wishing well, It makes it so much more personal hearing
- 28:37Speaker 1: it from Tammy's perspective. But when you see a headline
- 28:39Speaker 1: and it's like rich influencer asked for donations, of course
- 28:43Speaker 1: everyone's going to think ill of it. I did notice
- 28:45Speaker 1: because the line that Tammy read out was a Channel
- 28:48Speaker 1: 7 headline that we read out on this podcast on Friday,
- 28:51Speaker 1: but she did omit the part where they said she
- 28:54Speaker 1: was worth $ 50 million. I do wonder if she's been
- 28:58Speaker 1: forced to change the date. of the wedding because she
- 29:00Speaker 1: said that they've had to change things. I do wonder
- 29:03Speaker 1: what parts of the wedding have been changed. They could
- 29:05Speaker 1: do a red herring, like they've changed literally nothing. I mean,
- 29:08Speaker 1: they would have security for the day. Maybe this is
- 29:10Speaker 1: all some strategy. Maybe they got Sofa Dofa to release
- 29:14Speaker 1: a fake date. Oh, my God, this could be– we
- 29:17Speaker 1: could be onto something here. Genius. Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 2: But it was definitely hard because I love love and
- 29:23Speaker 2: I started to think maybe it wasn't for me. We
- 29:25Speaker 2: love love.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Britt Hockley has finally found her penguin. The Life Uncut
- 29:30Speaker 1: host announced her engagement to professional Swiss soccer player Ben Sechrist. Now,
- 29:35Speaker 1: Ben popped the question whilst the couple were holidaying in
- 29:38Speaker 1: the Hamilton Islands. Surely he hired a professional photographer for
- 29:43Speaker 1: the proposal because the photos Britt subsequently uploaded were stunning.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because it showed that he proposed on this
- 29:52Speaker 1: beautiful beach and it was very bachelorette. So he had
- 29:56Speaker 1: organized a helicopter and There was also a yacht on
- 30:00Speaker 1: standby where they celebrated with champagne. The photographer managed to
- 30:03Speaker 1: snap the moment exactly when he was down on one
- 30:06Speaker 1: knee and there were all these beautiful close-up shots of
- 30:08Speaker 1: Britt's reaction. And, of course, a lot of close-ups of
- 30:12Speaker 1: this ring. He did a good job. Yeah, I mean,
- 30:16Speaker 1: I have to admit, as soon as I saw this ring,
- 30:18Speaker 1: I immediately Googled his net worth. I gasped when I
- 30:23Speaker 1: saw it. It reminded me a lot of Kim Kardashian's
- 30:26Speaker 1: ring from, was his last name Humphries? Well, I mean,
- 30:29Speaker 1: it actually doesn't look anything like it, but the size
- 30:31Speaker 1: of the ring. And that is what I'm finding more
- 30:34Speaker 1: and more is some engagement rings.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 30:37Speaker 1: You can't even, you're like, is that a real diamond?
- 30:39Speaker 1: I think in this case it is because he is worth,
- 30:41Speaker 1: it says online, if you're to believe this $ 5 million.
- 30:44Speaker 1: And it actually was very reminiscent of Tammy Hembrough's ring
- 30:48Speaker 1: because it is a oval diamond it's got a yellow
- 30:52Speaker 1: band it is stunning and I'm so happy for her
- 30:56Speaker 1: she did share the news on Instagram writing in any
- 30:59Speaker 1: lifetime it's a yes just two people loving each other
- 31:02Speaker 1: for the rest of our lives I did find the
- 31:05Speaker 1: caption kind of funny though because it's like oh it's
- 31:07Speaker 1: such a quaint love but then there were these photos
- 31:09Speaker 1: of them on this epic yacht living their best lives
- 31:11Speaker 1: like yeah but I think everyone or most people are
- 31:16Speaker 1: really excited for Brit because she has had such a
- 31:19Speaker 1: time of it. Obviously, she's got the Life Uncut podcast
- 31:22Speaker 1: and she has shared many stories about awful dating experiences
- 31:26Speaker 1: she has had and awful relationships. So I, for one,
- 31:29Speaker 1: was really excited when I saw the news and happy
- 31:32Speaker 1: for her. I was so happy for her because we
- 31:34Speaker 1: all met her when she was absolutely shafted by the
- 31:37Speaker 1: honey badger on The Bachelor. Then she's kicked off her
- 31:40Speaker 1: podcast by revealing that she actually dated a sociopath. Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And most recently she has had her heart broken by
- 31:47Speaker 1: Aussie tennis player Jordan Thompson. So I think everyone has
- 31:50Speaker 1: been rooting for Britt and has been really keen for
- 31:53Speaker 1: her to find someone special. And Ben seems so nice. Oh,
- 31:57Speaker 1: I love them together. They are so cute. As expected,
- 32:00Speaker 1: the Blue Tick Brigade were out in force to congratulate her.
- 32:03Speaker 1: So her bestie Rebel Wilson wrote under the post, Yes,
- 32:07Speaker 1: biggest congratulations to you, babes. I really loved the way
- 32:11Speaker 1: that Brit broke the news to her co-host Laura and
- 32:13Speaker 1: also producer Keisha. So on Life Uncut, if you haven't listened,
- 32:17Speaker 1: they have an Ask Uncut segment where they answer questions
- 32:21Speaker 1: about dating and then they give their advice. So unbeknownst
- 32:25Speaker 1: to the other hosts, Brit had written a topic of
- 32:27Speaker 1: her own. Let's throw to the clip.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I've been single for the better part of 10 years
- 32:32Speaker 2: and I was always the single friend watching all my
- 32:34Speaker 2: friends fall in love, which made me so happy. But
- 32:37Speaker 2: it was definitely hard because I love love and I
- 32:40Speaker 2: started to think maybe it wasn't for me. We love love.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Then in 2022, I met this amazing guy, but he
- 32:45Speaker 2: lived overseas. My friends were really concerned because long distance
- 32:49Speaker 2: is never easy and I've always had commitment issues. But
- 32:52Speaker 2: this time it felt different and I thought he was
- 32:54Speaker 2: worth it. Flash forward to now and I've never been happier.
- 32:57Speaker 2: And last week on a beautiful island, he asked me
- 32:59Speaker 2: to be his wife.
- 33:00Speaker 5: You crying?
- 33:01Speaker 2: And I just want to know what's a cute way
- 33:02Speaker 2: to tell my friends that I'm getting married.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Spoiler, it's me.
- 33:21Speaker 2: How did you leave it to the third question?
- 33:27Speaker 1: Because you've got diarrhea. I was going to tell you
- 33:29Speaker 1: on Monday. Because look at it. I've been waiting.
- 33:43Speaker 3: So long to tell you guys.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Can you believe it? No. What are we going to do?
- 33:49Speaker 1: What are we doing now? Jono with the confetti. You
- 33:53Speaker 1: told Jono before you told us. I told Jono before
- 33:57Speaker 1: you told me. Oh my God, honey. I'm so happy
- 34:01Speaker 1: for you. I'm so, so happy. I love you so much.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I just never thought it would happen.
- 34:05Speaker 1: This clip has gone viral on TikTok. It has almost
- 34:08Speaker 1: a million views and it's not surprising. It almost brought
- 34:11Speaker 1: a tear to my eye because the genuine happiness and
- 34:14Speaker 1: excitement that that Laura and Keisha showed was so nice.
- 34:18Speaker 1: It was nice because I think initially everyone had seen
- 34:21Speaker 1: the very curated photos. And as you said, there was
- 34:24Speaker 1: the yacht and there was the ring. And I was
- 34:26Speaker 1: so happy for seeing the photos, but I was even
- 34:28Speaker 1: happier when I saw her genuine joy and the joy
- 34:32Speaker 1: in her friends' faces as well. I was surprised to
- 34:35Speaker 1: later find out that Laura was actually in on Ben's
- 34:39Speaker 1: engagement plans all along.
- 34:40Speaker 2: What?
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah. So on their radio show, Laura revealed that two
- 34:44Speaker 1: months prior, Ben had slid into her DMs asking her
- 34:48Speaker 1: for help with an engagement ring. And for those who
- 34:50Speaker 1: don't know, Laura is a jewelry designer. And Laura said
- 34:54Speaker 1: they ran into a problem because Ben sent her through
- 34:56Speaker 1: a photo of a white gold diamond ring. And Laura
- 35:00Speaker 1: had to be pretty blunt and say, look, Brit is
- 35:03Speaker 1: not going to like that ring and she's not going
- 35:04Speaker 1: to wear it. So luckily, Brit was filming for I'm
- 35:08Speaker 1: a Celeb at the time. So Laura had access to
- 35:11Speaker 1: her Instagram and she was able to look at her
- 35:14Speaker 1: saved photos where Brit had saved a ton of engagement
- 35:17Speaker 1: ring inspo photos. And Laura did say that she spotted
- 35:21Speaker 1: a current theme. And the theme was that all of
- 35:23Speaker 1: the photos Brit saved had massive stones. So it's not
- 35:27Speaker 1: a surprise that Brit has ended up with a massive rock. Well,
- 35:30Speaker 1: maybe Laura knew that he was going to propose, but
- 35:32Speaker 1: she didn't know the moment.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But that being said, anytime a friend goes on a
- 35:37Speaker 1: luxury holiday with their partner, everyone's like, get your nails done,
- 35:41Speaker 1: it's going to happen. Then she probably had some idea.
- 35:43Speaker 1: She probably assumed that Brit would have rung her the
- 35:45Speaker 1: moment that she got engaged. Well, this has left many
- 35:48Speaker 1: people wondering what does this mean for Brit's future in
- 35:52Speaker 1: Australia because Ben does live in Scotland so the couple
- 35:56Speaker 1: have been doing long distance throughout their whole relationship so
- 35:59Speaker 1: they've been spending time between Australia and Scotland. Ben revealed
- 36:03Speaker 1: last year that he ultimately plans to move to Australia
- 36:06Speaker 1: but he is still playing professional soccer so I don't
- 36:10Speaker 1: know if that's his long-term goal. What do you think? Well,
- 36:13Speaker 1: Britt spoke a lot on I'm a Celeb about the
- 36:16Speaker 1: pressure that she faces because it's such a difficult decision.
- 36:18Speaker 1: She's obviously got a great career here in Australia. I
- 36:22Speaker 1: wonder if they're able to set up, like surely there's
- 36:25Speaker 1: a podcast studio she could go to over in Scotland
- 36:28Speaker 1: and record the podcast. I think the issue is, I mean,
- 36:31Speaker 1: they're obviously on radio as well. Yeah, but the issue
- 36:34Speaker 1: is of the time difference because she'll be having to
- 36:37Speaker 1: either record really late or really early in the morning.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I wonder if there's secret negotiations going on in the
- 36:43Speaker 1: background for Ben to maybe transfer over to an Australian team. No,
- 36:48Speaker 1: they wouldn't pay as much for one. And hasn't he
- 36:51Speaker 1: signed a four-year deal? Yeah, I guess we'll just have
- 36:53Speaker 1: to wait and see what happens. I am very excited
- 36:56Speaker 1: for the wedding content that is going to go down
- 36:58Speaker 1: because I have a feeling that this wedding is going
- 37:00Speaker 1: to come together quite quickly. What country, though, do you think?
- 37:03Speaker 1: It'll have to be Australia. I reckon maybe they'll do two.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm signing myself up for this, but
- 37:09Speaker 1: it's for you guys. Ashi Bynes has made the decision
- 37:12Speaker 1: to close down her activewear brand baseline as she takes
- 37:16Speaker 1: a step back to put her health first. Back in March,
- 37:19Speaker 1: Ashi was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and in May,
- 37:22Speaker 1: her neurologist recommended she undergo brain surgery within the next
- 37:26Speaker 1: six months. Now, after weeks of speculation, Ashi confirmed on
- 37:31Speaker 1: Wednesday that her activewear brand will be shutting down. She
- 37:35Speaker 1: wrote on Instagram, this chapter is closing and a part
- 37:37Speaker 1: of me is definitely sad and will miss aspects of
- 37:40Speaker 1: this beautiful brand. But all of me knows that this
- 37:43Speaker 1: is the right choice for my health, well-being and next chapter.
- 37:47Speaker 1: She did use the Instagram announcement to point out what
- 37:50Speaker 1: a huge success the ActiveWeb brand has been, saying that
- 37:54Speaker 1: over the years, they've sent out 500,000 orders. Wow, that
- 37:56Speaker 1: is amazing. a lot of money from this activewear brand.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I feel stupid because I didn't even know that Ashley
- 38:04Speaker 1: Bynes had an activewear brand. I have to confess, probably
- 38:08Speaker 1: six years ago, I did buy some items from this
- 38:11Speaker 1: activewear brand. I bought, I love the color, that cobalt
- 38:15Speaker 1: blue color. And she had some pants like that and
- 38:18Speaker 1: a crop top, but I never wore them because they're
- 38:19Speaker 1: just too bright. I love all your admissions on this podcast.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Like when you bought the Sunny app subscription. I know
- 38:25Speaker 1: I'm a bit of a sucker for an influencer brand
- 38:28Speaker 1: from time to time. I felt really sorry for Ashley
- 38:32Speaker 1: because it's absolutely horrendous what she's having to navigate at
- 38:35Speaker 1: the moment. And she explained that the health scare has
- 38:38Speaker 1: made her re-evaluate her business and life. And it's made
- 38:42Speaker 1: her realize the things that she wants to let go of.
- 38:44Speaker 1: She finished on a high though by saying, that it
- 38:46Speaker 1: means that they will be clearing all stock. So there's
- 38:49Speaker 1: a huge sale on them at the moment. Got to
- 38:51Speaker 1: love a little bit of a spruik at the end. Yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 1: that is all we have time for today. Thank you
- 38:55Speaker 1: so much for joining just Amy and I today. As
- 38:57Speaker 1: we've mentioned, Kate is on maternity leave because the pitter

- 39:19Speaker 1: those kind of details let us know because we might
- 39:21Speaker 1: do an outspoken plus episode on it if there is
- 39:24Speaker 1: demand and if we sound like we're going a little
- 39:26Speaker 1: nuts or we're tired that is because we are recording
- 39:28Speaker 1: this quite late on a Friday night because we are
- 39:31Speaker 1: trying to make the most of next week where we
- 39:35Speaker 1: potentially might have our nephew here. So it's one of
- 39:38Speaker 1: those times where you really want to enjoy the moment
- 39:42Speaker 1: and not feel stressed. So we are working overtime to
- 39:44Speaker 1: make sure we get all of our episodes out to you.

- 40:04Speaker 1: let us know if you're enjoying the first installment of
- 40:06Speaker 1: our shiny, grim and deep dive. I have felt so
- 40:10Speaker 1: nostalgic going back and watching Shani's old videos. And if
- 40:14Speaker 1: you head to our TikTok account, we are sharing quite
- 40:17Speaker 1: a number of reels, flashback reels, which are so funny. Oh,
- 40:21Speaker 1: my God. Chloe Zepp from like 15 years ago is hysterical.
- 40:25Speaker 1: She looks so much like Artie. 15 years ago? It
- 40:28Speaker 1: was like eight years ago. Oh, I'm sorry. Again, I
- 40:30Speaker 1: am tired. I have just aged them, but it feels
- 40:33Speaker 1: like a hell of a long time ago. It actually
- 40:34Speaker 1: has made me want to go back and relive all
- 40:38Speaker 1: of those moments, like watch all of Shani's videos in order.
- 40:41Speaker 1: This episode was recorded on the traditional land of the
- 40:44Speaker 1: Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to
- 40:47Speaker 1: elders past and present. Thank you.
