- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie
- 0:03Speaker 1: at his time, right now for today's word. The Table
- 0:10Speaker 1: of Grace. The Table of Grace Luke twenty two nineteen says,
- 0:15Speaker 1: do this and remembrance of me. You know, there's something
- 0:21Speaker 1: deeply powerful about a table. It's a place where people gather,
- 0:25Speaker 1: where conversations happen, where relationships are built, And in this
- 0:30Speaker 1: moment during Holy Week, the table becomes sacred. At what
- 0:35Speaker 1: we now call the Last Supper, Jesus sat down with
- 0:38Speaker 1: his disciples, knowing full well what was about to happen.
- 0:43Speaker 1: He knew betrayal was in the room, he knew denial
- 0:47Speaker 1: was coming. He knew that those closest to him would
- 0:51Speaker 1: soon scatter in fear. And yet he still invited them
- 0:56Speaker 1: to the table. Jesus Christ didn't pause to call out flaws. Nope,
- 1:02Speaker 1: he didn't remove the imperfection. He didn't cancel the gathering
- 1:06Speaker 1: because of who was present. Instead, you know what he did.
- 1:09Speaker 1: He broke bread, He served, he loved. See. What's especially
- 1:15Speaker 1: striking is that Judas Iscariot was still there, The very
- 1:20Speaker 1: one who would betray him was still offered bread and
- 1:23Speaker 1: loved on by him. See that's the kind of grace
- 1:26Speaker 1: that doesn't make sense by human standard. It's not earned,
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's not deserved, it's given freely. And that same grace
- 1:36Speaker 1: is extended to us. See, too often we disqualify ourselves.
- 1:40Speaker 1: We tell ourselves, I've made too many mistakes. I'm not ready.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I need to get myself together first. But Jesus is
- 1:47Speaker 1: not waiting for perfection. He's inviting you just as you are.
- 1:53Speaker 1: The table of grace is not a place for the perfect,
- 1:56Speaker 1: it's a place for the willing. It's where broken people
- 1:59Speaker 1: are restored, is where weary hearts are renewed. Is where
- 2:03Speaker 1: forgiveness flows freely and love covers a multitude of wrongs.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And here's the challenge. We're not just invited to receive
- 2:12Speaker 1: that grace. We're called to extend that grace. It's easy
- 2:19Speaker 1: to accept grace for ourselves, but it's so much harder
- 2:22Speaker 1: to give it to others, especially when we've been hurt,
- 2:25Speaker 1: especially when someone has wronged us. But Jesus showed us
- 2:29Speaker 1: what love looks like in action. He served those who
- 2:33Speaker 1: failed him, he loved those who would leave him. He
- 2:36Speaker 1: extended grace even in the face of betrayal. So the
- 2:40Speaker 1: question becomes, who needs a seat at your table? Who
- 2:44Speaker 1: do you need to forgive today? Who do you need
- 2:49Speaker 1: to show kindness to even when it's difficult. Who needs
- 2:54Speaker 1: to experience the same grace that God has shown you.
- 2:57Speaker 1: The table is not just a place of remember, it's
- 3:00Speaker 1: a place of transfor nation. When you come to the
- 3:05Speaker 1: table with Jesus, you don't leave the same way you came.
- 3:09Speaker 1: His grace changes you. It changes everything. It softens your heart,
- 3:14Speaker 1: ever news your mind. It teaches you how to love
- 3:17Speaker 1: beyond conditions. This holy week, don't just reflect on the table.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Come to the table, receive his grace, rest in his love,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and then go and extend that same grace to others.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Oh Father God, thank you for your grace that meets
- 3:35Speaker 1: us right where we are, not where we think we
- 3:39Speaker 1: should be. Thank you for loving us even in our
- 3:43Speaker 1: imperfections and inviting us into relationship with You. God, Help
- 3:47Speaker 1: us to extend that same grace to others even when
- 3:50Speaker 1: it's hard. Let our lives reflect your love, your mercy,
- 3:54Speaker 1: and your compassion. In Jesus' name, that's your word for today.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Take it apply to your everyday life, and you continue
- 4:01Speaker 1: to be encouraged and inspired at your early morning praise party.
