backdrop of the end of Genesis is God's people move into the

borders of Egypt and they come under the Egyptian government

during a time of famine. But then by the days of of the

beginning of Exodus and the days of Moses, the government is

flipped. And so God's people need to

leave that country, go to another country so they can have

religious freedom. And the reason that God largely

delivers his people in the Exodus, it's pro-life and

religious liberty. They're killing the boys and

they won't let God's people worship.

And so yes, the the Bible talks a lot about nations and it talks

about borders and it records and reports wars, some very just

wars over defending of borders. And sometimes God's people are

commanded to leave one nation and to go somewhere else and to

found another nation so that they can have religious liberty

in life. And so anybody who doesn't think

that the Bible has anything to do with these kinds of issues

and the backdrop of the whole book of Nehemiah, the city of

Jerusalem was protected by walls.

It's fortification in the ancient world.

It's also a border. It's saying, you know, this wall

inside is the old city of Jerusalem.

It's a border. The wall gets torn down, the

city gets destroyed. So God raises up Nehemiah.

And the books of Ezra and Nehemiah in the Old Testament

are largely about securing the border and rebuilding the wall.
