- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more of the Mark Simone show on sevent ten.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Wook behind the mic from Mark Today, It's Jim Kerr. Well,
- 0:10Speaker 1: good morning, eight hundred and three to one zero seven ten.
- 0:13Speaker 1: That's our telephone number, and I invite you to call
- 0:15Speaker 1: us and participate in the discussion about what might be
- 0:19Speaker 1: on your mind this morning. Here at seven ten, wo R.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We have on the line AL from Yonkers. And I'm
- 0:30Speaker 1: trying to figure out how to work this phone because
- 0:33Speaker 1: there are two buttons next to the name AL from Yonkers.
- 0:37Speaker 1: So which one do I push the one to the left. Okay,
- 0:42Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. Okay, Al from Yonkers. How are you?
- 0:46Speaker 1: Maybe this one will get us AL? Is this you? Al? Yeah?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Hey, Jim, Okay, speak to you.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Hi, how you doing?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Thank you this morning? Good Jim. You know, I want
- 0:54Speaker 2: to say that was really nice con words that you
- 0:57Speaker 2: had from Mark. And now I just wanted to also mentioned,
- 1:00Speaker 2: you know, recently in the news we've seen about these
- 1:05Speaker 2: groupies showing up at court and press conferences for Luigi Mangioni,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and as you know, being a seasoned legend, that this
- 1:16Speaker 2: is nothing new. We saw that back in the seventies
- 1:20Speaker 2: with Charles Manson when he you know, was the mastermind
- 1:25Speaker 2: of the Sharon Tate and the Lobbyanca murders. And we
- 1:28Speaker 2: also saw that in the nineteen eighties when the nights
- 1:32Speaker 2: talker Richard Ramirez terrorized California.
- 1:36Speaker 1: This movie show up at Court. Yeah, there seems to
- 1:39Speaker 1: be a cult, especially surrounding serial killers. And a little
- 1:44Speaker 1: bit later, probably around eleven o'clock, we're going to hopefully
- 1:47Speaker 1: have on the air with us an expert, an expert
- 1:51Speaker 1: in the field who will be able to share not
- 1:55Speaker 1: only some information about the history of these people and
- 1:58Speaker 1: their worship of these of these these horrible murderers, but
- 2:03Speaker 1: also maybe some of the psychological background that causes them
- 2:07Speaker 1: to act in such a way. But it's really disturbing,
- 2:10Speaker 1: it really.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Is, absolutely really is. I mean, I lived up in
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yonkers and I knew a guy, you know, as an
- 2:17Speaker 2: acquaintant two years ago wrote a book on you know,
- 2:21Speaker 2: the Sun of Sam And it's just amazing how people
- 2:24Speaker 2: could look to a person like Luisi, you know, Mangioni,
- 2:29Speaker 2: a cold blooded killer who you know, Trump, you know,
- 2:32Speaker 2: killed this person. It's it's unbelievable.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Well, David Berkowitz not a real good looking guy. No, uh,
- 2:44Speaker 1: and and uh, Luigi women find very attractive and wealthy. Yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and comes from a rich family.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But you know, I I still don't understand because that
- 2:59Speaker 1: was one of the I was talking to somebody the
- 3:01Speaker 1: other day about it, and one of the excuses about
- 3:05Speaker 1: the cult of Luigi is, well, but he's so good looking. Well,
- 3:11Speaker 1: you know, if he killed this man on the sidewalk
- 3:15Speaker 1: over in front of New York Hilton, so what said
- 3:18Speaker 1: he's good looking? So what what would that have to
- 3:21Speaker 1: do with anything at all? But apparently in some people's
- 3:25Speaker 1: minds and strangely enough in their hearts, it does. It's
- 3:29Speaker 1: just it's just unbelievable now, it really is.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I mean, it's you know, it's unbelievable. I agree.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Okay, well, thank you for calling up. I really do
- 3:40Speaker 1: appreciate it very much. And uh, okay, you have a
- 3:43Speaker 1: good day. Eight hundred and three to two one zero
- 3:46Speaker 1: seven to ten. That's the number here for Mark Simone's
- 3:49Speaker 1: show on wo R. And we have Olsen on the line.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I believe I'm just playing with the phone here. Well,
- 4:01Speaker 1: it set Olson Thomas and nope, nobody there. Okay, let's
- 4:09Speaker 1: see who's online. One good morning, you're on Mark Simone show.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Hello, Yes, good morning. Uh this is PG from Queens.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I got what part of Queen's okay.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Actually far Rockaway?
- 4:28Speaker 1: Oh okay, Well there's the difference, so what's on your mind?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Difference because I ended up having a stroke. I was
- 4:35Speaker 4: evicted Shelton. Now I'm in far Rockaway and the disability apartment.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Boyne was going to say, is I walk upstairs and
- 4:45Speaker 4: the machine that opens the door when you put the
- 4:47Speaker 4: Omni floor tells you use the Metro card. How don't
- 4:51Speaker 4: how they want me to use a Metro card if
- 4:54Speaker 4: they took it away in January.
- 4:56Speaker 1: The Metro the Metro card doesn't work anymore. But I
- 5:00Speaker 1: but I But oddly enough, on the Number six train
- 5:03Speaker 1: yesterday I saw an advertisement on the train that said
- 5:08Speaker 1: that you wouldn't be able to buy any new Metro
- 5:11Speaker 1: cards after December thirty.
- 5:13Speaker 4: First twenty five Trinchinova on an Omni card.
- 5:18Speaker 1: But it's but it's still but the sign was still there.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Yeah, may have to use a Metro card.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 5:25Speaker 4: So I called the three one one. You call the
- 5:28Speaker 4: Mayor's office and let them talk to MTA. I will
- 5:31Speaker 4: not call MTA anymore. Of course, it's a waste of
- 5:34Speaker 4: time and red tape and everything. Since we have a
- 5:37Speaker 4: new maya call the May's office, get a confirmation number,
- 5:42Speaker 4: and then go back to May's office and ask them what.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Happened with this?
- 5:45Speaker 1: Well, what happened? What happens when you call? What happened?
- 5:48Speaker 1: Wait a second? Wait, I have to ask you a question.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Calm down. Oh, I'm sorry, Okay, all right, I gotta
- 5:53Speaker 1: get a word in here. Did you no, that's okay?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Did you call three one one.
- 6:00Speaker 4: After the fact? I asked the told booth person to
- 6:05Speaker 4: let me in when I tapped it through regular card
- 6:08Speaker 4: and then she had to open the door.
- 6:09Speaker 1: No, I understand, I understand that. But to explain about it?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Was it three to one one that you called? And
- 6:16Speaker 1: if so, did they connect you to the right people?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Did they help you at all?
- 6:21Speaker 3: Oh?
- 6:22Speaker 4: They wanted to give me the MTA number. My bottom
- 6:25Speaker 4: line is, if you're going to give me a number,
- 6:26Speaker 4: call somebody who can't answer it. Forget about city council.
- 6:31Speaker 4: There's a may to do the job. Let him go
- 6:33Speaker 4: figure somebody to do the job.
- 6:35Speaker 1: All right, Well, thank you for calling us this morning.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I appreciate it. Let's stay in the borough of Queen's
- 6:40Speaker 1: right now and say hello to Rob on Mark Simone
- 6:43Speaker 1: Show at w o R. Hello Rob, Hi Jim, how
- 6:47Speaker 1: you doing.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Uh?
- 6:48Speaker 5: First, I would just like to say that I was
- 6:51Speaker 5: on that trip with the Jediway Getaway. Well we went
- 6:53Speaker 5: down to Miami with you and Liz.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and remember that, well we it was with let
- 6:59Speaker 1: Me Crab, It wasn't it. Oh no, No, that was. No,
- 7:03Speaker 1: you're talking about the getaway jetaway with living Valid. That was.
- 7:08Speaker 1: That was Valentine's Day in back in the nineteen nineties
- 7:11Speaker 1: when there was a blizzard condition. Here's run no storm
- 7:15Speaker 1: and everything, and we flew on twa if you'll remember them,
- 7:20Speaker 1: on a seven forty seven. We flew to Miami Beach
- 7:24Speaker 1: for the day from the morning and we came back
- 7:26Speaker 1: in the evening on the same day exactly.
- 7:29Speaker 5: That was a fantastic time. We hung out at the
- 7:32Speaker 5: hotel the whole day. It was a great, great time. So, yeah,
- 7:37Speaker 5: what you're saying about, Luigi, it's amazing to me because
- 7:40Speaker 5: when I look at everything with this, the way the
- 7:43Speaker 5: Democrats are, if they could, they'd run this guy for office,
- 7:46Speaker 5: you know what I mean, It's just there's just no
- 7:49Speaker 5: there's no standard anymore. And I just it's really said,
- 7:53Speaker 5: what's happening to the whole society? That this is what
- 7:56Speaker 5: they do? They put a value on somebody who's taking
- 7:58Speaker 5: a man's life. It's just where are we going?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Well, one of the quotes I heard from one of
- 8:01Speaker 1: the young women was something along the lines and I
- 8:05Speaker 1: am paraphrasing here, but his kids are better off without him,
- 8:09Speaker 1: speaking of the children of the murdered insurance company CEO.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Can you imagine somebody saying something like that. I can't.
- 8:17Speaker 5: It's really it's sad commentary on a society as a
- 8:21Speaker 5: whole way, just this is what we've become. Like, Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 5: and you see more and more of it every day.
- 8:27Speaker 5: And it's just people you know, who have been in
- 8:30Speaker 5: who have lived here a long time and everything and
- 8:32Speaker 5: seen the way things used to be. It's just it
- 8:34Speaker 5: just seems like every day we get a little bit worse.
- 8:37Speaker 5: It's unfortunately.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Well, hopefully we'll have an opportunity to speak with an
- 8:41Speaker 1: expert a little bit later during the show This morning
- 8:43Speaker 1: here at wo R. Rob, thank you for calling up, Tom.
- 8:47Speaker 1: How are you.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Hi?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, you're calling from You're calling from Chicago?
- 8:57Speaker 3: I sure am.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Listening on the free iHeartRadio up.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Yes, most certainly, yeah, okay, why not? Right?
- 9:06Speaker 1: So what's up with you today?
- 9:07Speaker 3: It's a nice connection throughout the world, you know. So
- 9:13Speaker 3: it's it's great. I'm glad I uh have an opportunity
- 9:19Speaker 3: to ask you a couple of questions.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Maybe, Okay, yeah, we've got let's see here, We've got
- 9:25Speaker 1: we've got a moment. So go with question number one.
- 9:29Speaker 3: All right, question number one. Okay, So the first time
- 9:34Speaker 3: literally I'm sixty or almost, and the first time I
- 9:39Speaker 3: was ever in the Big Apple was like last year,
- 9:44Speaker 3: September October. I've been upper at around acts and stuff
- 9:50Speaker 3: like that, Niagara blah blah blah. But my question is
- 9:57Speaker 3: why is New York see Apple of the World Center
- 10:04Speaker 3: so disgustingly dirty?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Well, you know, it depends on how you view the
- 10:12Speaker 1: city of New York. I don't find it particularly dirty.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I'm often in cities all over the country, including Chicago,
- 10:19Speaker 1: which I love, by the way, along that beautiful Lake
- 10:22Speaker 1: Michigan shore there. And the fact of the matter is
- 10:27Speaker 1: that you have eight and a half million people living
- 10:30Speaker 1: in one city. Manhattan is so incredibly densely populated. It's
- 10:35Speaker 1: only twelve blocks wide and about twelve miles long. And
- 10:39Speaker 1: so you know, some garbage will you know, find its
- 10:43Speaker 1: way to the streets or sidewalks from time to time.
- 10:46Speaker 1: But actually, I think they do a pretty good job,
- 10:48Speaker 1: to tell you the truth, our DSN why they are
- 10:52Speaker 1: pretty incredible Here in New York City. You know, we
- 10:56Speaker 1: have New York's finest, the police, and we have New
- 11:01Speaker 1: York's bravest the Fire Department. And we've got New York's
- 11:07Speaker 1: boldest that's the Corrections Department. But we've got New York's
- 11:10Speaker 1: strongest and they're the Sanitation Department. And believe me, this
- 11:14Speaker 1: city would not survive a day and a half without
- 11:16Speaker 1: all the hard work that those men and women put
- 11:19Speaker 1: into their jobs.
