Speaker 2: House candidate out of the fiftieth Atlanta Schleckler is here,
• 2:08
Speaker 2: as is Don Ashworth, who's a candidate for Charleston City Council.
• 2:11
Speaker 2: When to introduce you now to a candidate for magistrate
• 2:14
Speaker 2: here in Kennaugh County, Bolts willis. Good morning, stay, welcome
• 2:17
  Speaker 2: to the show.
• 2:18
Speaker 5: Good morning, Dave. How are you.
• 2:19
Speaker 2: I am doing fine. You know, I've interviewed you a
• 2:21
Speaker 2: couple of times on Metro News Midday, you know, with
• 2:23
Speaker 2: Amanda and the mining things, so on and so forth.
• 2:25
Speaker 2: I did not know what your actual first name was, Bolts,
• 2:29
Speaker 2: and neither did Amanda. So because I said what, I said,
• 2:33
Speaker 2: what is his real name? And she said, I don't know.
• 2:36
Speaker 2: I was just always called him Bolts. I have to ask,
• 2:38
Speaker 2: where does something Bolts come from?
• 2:40
  Speaker 4: Well?
• 2:41
Speaker 6: I grew up at Canilton and Cold Camps, all the
• 2:44
Speaker 6: way up the hollow, and a family live beside me
• 2:47
Speaker 6: and about three years old their nameless bowls, and I
• 2:50
Speaker 6: called him. I would say Bolts most of the time.
• 2:53
Speaker 6: And a great friend of mine, Larry Arthur, has passed
• 2:56
Speaker 6: away now, but he he named me Murnha might have
• 2:59
Speaker 6: find Bolts and my best friend growing up as maryon Bowles.
• 3:02
  Speaker 4: OK.
• 3:02
Speaker 6: So then, of course when I started working in the
• 3:04
Speaker 6: coal mine, I ran a roof ball machine, so it
• 3:07
  Speaker 6: stuck with me.
• 3:08
Speaker 2: I kind of thought it would be bit more mining.
• 3:09
Speaker 2: I didn't think the true goer to go out here.
• 3:11
Speaker 2: It was a mining thing. So tell us your background,
• 3:14
Speaker 2: give us the story of a man named Bolts.
• 3:16
Speaker 6: Well, as I said, I River Cantleton, Fayette County. And
• 3:20
Speaker 6: then I've been living in Kenoll County for over fifty years,
• 3:26
Speaker 6: and I started thinking about when I started working in mines.
• 3:29
Speaker 4: You know, you have to get an education.
• 3:30
Speaker 6: So I went to West Virginia Tech after high school,
• 3:33
Speaker 6: of course Montgomery High School, and I got a degree there,
• 3:36
Speaker 6: and then through that degree through the labor relations, I thought,
• 3:41
Speaker 6: you know, I need to be involved with what's going
• 3:43
Speaker 6: on as this particular job as magistrate. I've always been
• 3:48
Speaker 6: a leader. I've been captain of the teams. I've refereed,
• 3:51
Speaker 6: I've umpired. I've been a volunteer fireman assistant chief for
• 3:56
Speaker 6: seventeen years, and I've done a lot of things. I've
• 3:59
Speaker 6: been in court on many issues dealing dealing with mine's safety.
• 4:05
Speaker 6: I've been I've never lost a case. Even got to
• 4:08
Speaker 6: argue part of a man Dama's case over roof board issues,
• 4:12
Speaker 6: uh with Judge of mcew or Justice MQ. He the
• 4:16
Speaker 6: attorney's got into the squabble a little bit and he said,
• 4:20
Speaker 6: he said, could you come over and explain this to me?
• 4:23
Speaker 6: So everybody was quiet. And then after after I explained that,
• 4:28
Speaker 6: he of course told the attorneys, if you want to
• 4:30
Speaker 6: see anything else about this, he's submit a brief. So
• 4:33
Speaker 6: Judge MQ, you know, if you knew anything about him,
• 4:36
Speaker 6: that God was the greatest, said he ran his courtroom
• 4:40
Speaker 6: and he was chief Justice at the time. So I'm
• 4:43
Speaker 6: from a family of lawyers. My sister he was a lawyer,
• 4:47
Speaker 6: My brother in law, my nephew practice here in Charleston
• 4:51
Speaker 6: and other counties. My grandson's a lawyer. So I've been
• 4:56
Speaker 6: around law a lot. I know I know the prosecutor
• 4:58
Speaker 6: very well. Where as matter be dealing with assistant prosecutors.
• 5:04
Speaker 6: Chief of staff's a friend of mine, family friend of mine,
• 5:06
Speaker 6: by the way. So, like I said, I've had a
• 5:10
Speaker 6: lot of experience and I'm well familiar with the court
• 5:13
  Speaker 6: how it works.
• 5:14
Speaker 2: So again you're running for magistrate. Why with all this
• 5:18
Speaker 2: that you've done, why do you want to be manastrate?
• 5:20
Speaker 6: Well, we're I think they were at a critical time
• 5:23
Speaker 6: with the with the problem with drugs and domestic violence.
• 5:26
Speaker 6: And and I'm a caring person. If anybody knows me,
• 5:29
  Speaker 6: I'm a leader. I'm a carrying person.
• 5:32
  Speaker 4: Uh.
• 5:33
Speaker 6: As a magistrate, I think you have to look at
• 5:36
Speaker 6: each case individually with no biases. And that's me where
• 5:41
Speaker 6: you know the victims. Of course you know that they're
• 5:44
Speaker 6: there because of what it is. The police has arrested
• 5:46
Speaker 6: a person there before me, and I would look at
• 5:51
Speaker 6: that case persons straight and eye and and see you
• 5:56
Speaker 6: know what were they thinking when this has occurred? And
• 6:00
Speaker 6: be fair about that. I taught conflict for losers for
• 6:03
Speaker 6: a long time. I know how to deal with conflict
• 6:07
Speaker 6: with the attorneys and prosecutors or between individuals. I tell you,
• 6:14
Speaker 6: I was campaign this week at the East Side yard
• 6:17
Speaker 6: sale and the guy came to me. He said, why
• 6:19
Speaker 6: you want to run for Masters? And I said, well,
• 6:22
Speaker 6: first place, we haven't had a master in the Upper
• 6:25
Speaker 6: Kanoel Valley for fifty years. Bro Holbrook a great friend
• 6:28
Speaker 6: of mine, And I thought, well you know it's time
• 6:32
Speaker 6: that we have some representation, even though it's all Conoil County,
• 6:35
Speaker 6: and I'm all for that. I'm a Conoha County person.
• 6:37
Speaker 6: My right wife retired from Conola County schools. My kids
• 6:41
Speaker 6: went to Connola's County schools, third PhD. So as a magistrate,
• 6:45
Speaker 6: you know, I understand the issues. I understand what's going on.
• 6:48
Speaker 6: I see people coming by my house. When I put
• 6:50
Speaker 6: a sign in the yard. The first person that came
• 6:52
Speaker 6: by my house said, you run for master. I said, yes,
• 6:56
Speaker 6: I am. He said, well, I won't rob from you.
• 6:58
Speaker 6: I said, well, you probably shouldn't rob for anybody. So
• 7:02
Speaker 6: that's kind of issues I can deal with anybody. I
• 7:04
Speaker 6: taught school for sixteen years of Western Czech labor law
• 7:08
Speaker 6: and labor relations. I taught to secondary school for ten years.
• 7:14
Speaker 6: You know, I know what's going on. I know the
• 7:16
Speaker 6: people that will be before me, and whether it be
• 7:18
Speaker 6: a landlord or somebody in a petty larceni trime. You know,
• 7:23
Speaker 6: I know what to do and I think I can
• 7:25
Speaker 6: handle that. Plus, I know working with people in the
• 7:28
Speaker 6: magagic courts, you have assistance, and I know one thing
• 7:32
Speaker 6: about it. I've looked closely at the magistrate court in
• 7:36
Speaker 6: Kanowa County and the assistance are the best. I know
• 7:39
Speaker 6: that and they can do their job and that's what
• 7:43
  Speaker 6: I would need.
• 7:44
Speaker 2: Going in Toddy Bolts Willis again who is a candidate
• 7:46
Speaker 2: for magistrate here in Kadah account even Dave Alan show
• 7:49
Speaker 2: on Find any Line Bright to you partly by Morgan
• 7:51
Speaker 2: and Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. You mentioned campaign
• 7:54
Speaker 2: any other What are you hearing out on the campaign
• 7:56
Speaker 2: trail for people other than I'm not going to rob
• 7:58
  Speaker 2: your house?
• 7:58
  Speaker 4: Other than that?
• 7:59
Speaker 6: Well, I tell you what's really been surprising. A lot
• 8:02
Speaker 6: of people said, I've already voted for you. You number
• 8:05
Speaker 6: one on a ballot if you look at it with independence,
• 8:10
Speaker 6: so a lot of independence. They don't think they can
• 8:12
Speaker 6: vote this election. They can, they can ask for a ballot,
• 8:16
Speaker 6: or they can get a non parson battle on their own.
• 8:21
Speaker 6: I'm looking for independent voters, Republican voters, democratic voters. I
• 8:27
Speaker 6: think I can win. I want to win and it's
• 8:31
Speaker 6: been a pleasure running for office. Tell you truth, you
• 8:34
Speaker 6: have a website or social media air No, sir, I
• 8:37
Speaker 6: just you this me all right?
• 8:40
  Speaker 4: All right?
• 8:40
Speaker 2: So we do the final thirty. Why should someone vote
• 8:43
Speaker 2: for bolts. Willis Well, I'm honest and I'm fair. I
• 8:48
Speaker 2: would be honest with anybody's comes to the court, but
• 8:52
Speaker 2: i'd be firm. And I say that sometimes reluctantly, because
• 8:57
Speaker 2: there's a lot of problems out there and a lot
• 8:59
Speaker 2: of people have issues. When you're up against it, you
• 9:01
Speaker 2: do some things that you probably wouldn't do.
• 9:03
  Speaker 5: A few worn't.
• 9:04
Speaker 6: And these are the tough times that I was talking about,
• 9:07
Speaker 6: and those are the people that they need help, and
• 9:10
Speaker 6: anything and everything I could do was get people help.
• 9:14
  Speaker 6: It's before me.
• 9:15
  Speaker 4: All right.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Wish you to lock. Wish you the best of luck.
• 9:18
Speaker 2: Of course, early voting is over. Tomorrow's the big day.
• 9:20
Speaker 2: So if you win, we'll have you back on. From
• 9:23
Speaker 2: time to time, I frequently have magistrates on the here,
• 9:25
Speaker 2: so if you win, we'll have you back on. Thank you, sir,

• 11:57
Speaker 2: for Charleston City Council in wards seven, Good morning, Welcome
• 12:00
  Speaker 2: to the show.
• 12:00
Speaker 10: Good morning, Dave, Thank you for having me all right?
• 12:02
Speaker 4: Who is Don Ashworth?
• 12:04
Speaker 10: Don Ashworth is just a hometown Charleston, West Virginia girl.
• 12:08
Speaker 10: I grew up on Corris Street. I went to Taft
• 12:13
Speaker 10: Elementary and when I started high school, actually while I
• 12:17
Speaker 10: was waiting my bank camp, my parents moved up on
• 12:19
Speaker 10: Garson Avenue and I didn't have to help him move,
• 12:22
Speaker 10: so I think that was great.
• 12:23
  Speaker 4: That's awesome right there, I've.
• 12:25
Speaker 10: Got My grandparents actually lived on Garrison Avenue before the
• 12:30
Speaker 10: road was even paved. So that tells you how far
• 12:33
Speaker 10: back the ties to Garson Avenue and that Westmoreland Bigley,
• 12:37
Speaker 10: Pennsylvania area goes. My grandfather, before he had a stroke,
• 12:42
Speaker 10: owned and operated at elk Finner Home, so he was
• 12:46
Speaker 10: a public servant. My other grandfather co founded the Kennaugh
• 12:49
Speaker 10: Valley Dental Council, which is still run today out of
• 12:52
Speaker 10: mary See Snow Elementary a public servant. Both of my
• 12:55
Speaker 10: parents retired from Kennall County Schools. So I come from
• 13:01
Speaker 10: a family that likes to give back.
• 13:03
Speaker 2: Okay, So with that, why are you running for Charleston
• 13:06
Speaker 2: City Council? Because there's a lot of different ways that
• 13:08
Speaker 2: you can give back other than getting involved in politics
• 13:10
Speaker 2: of being on city council.
• 13:11
Speaker 4: Why the decision to run for city council?
• 13:13
Speaker 10: So, Dave, The decision to run it actually came because
• 13:17
Speaker 10: when I first well, when I bought my house up Garson,
• 13:22
Speaker 10: we had somebody steel lawnmower out of our yard. My
• 13:24
Speaker 10: son went after with a BB gun and so I
• 13:27
Speaker 10: had to call the police. And from there I got
• 13:30
Speaker 10: involved with with the Charleston Police Department and started a
• 13:35
Speaker 10: neighborhood watch program. I also am a member of the
• 13:38
Speaker 10: Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. I'm their secretary. So I
• 13:44
Speaker 10: have seen behind the scenes a lot of things that
• 13:48
Speaker 10: goes on on Garrison on Westmoreland, Bigley, and I've had
• 13:53
Speaker 10: a lot of people in coordinating the neighborhood watch meetings
• 13:57
Speaker 10: and so on. Reach out to me over the years
• 13:59
Speaker 10: and hey, what can we do to clean this house up?
• 14:02
Speaker 10: What can we do? We've got high grass here, We've
• 14:05
Speaker 10: got a lot of people walking around the neighborhood that
• 14:09
Speaker 10: don't belong. So I started becoming involved that way, and
• 14:13
Speaker 10: over the years it's really made me see that I
• 14:19
Speaker 10: want to change our area. I want to make our
• 14:21
Speaker 10: area safer. I want to see our property values go up.
• 14:27
Speaker 10: To a lot of the abandoned houses that are that
• 14:33
Speaker 10: are there in that area, I'd like to see them
• 14:36
Speaker 10: torn down or even have someone come in and buy
• 14:40
Speaker 10: them and remodel, because that area, to me is home
• 14:45
Speaker 10: and I want it to flourish, and I want the
• 14:48
Speaker 10: people to be proud of where we live and where
• 14:52
Speaker 10: we are in the city.
• 14:53
Speaker 2: I'm talking to Don Ashworth again, who is a candidate
• 14:55
Speaker 2: for Charleston City Council in Ward seven the Dave Island

• 15:13
Speaker 2: you understand your environment because what you don't know can't
• 15:15
Speaker 2: hurts you. You have you touched on the ward. But
• 15:19
Speaker 2: just so we're clear, explain Ward seven to us again.
• 15:22
Speaker 2: We know about you've hit, You've hit a lot of it,
• 15:24
Speaker 2: but explain exactly what the ward is.
• 15:26
Speaker 10: Sure, so Ward seven. If you happen to look at
• 15:28
Speaker 10: a city map, Ward seven extends from the Bigley Spring
• 15:34
Speaker 10: Street down like you're going to Minke Shoals. It encompasses Bigley, Pennsylvania, Arlington,
• 15:40
Speaker 10: the side streets Odell. Then you go up on Westmoreland Hill,
• 15:44
Speaker 10: you've got Hillsdale, all of those streets that go around Woodbind.
• 15:49
Speaker 10: You come down Crescent, you've got Garson Avenue, which one
• 15:54
Speaker 10: side of Garson is Ward seven and the other side
• 15:57
Speaker 10: of Garrison I think it might be Ward five, but
• 16:00
Speaker 10: Jeanine that side is represented by Jeanine Fagry. But as
• 16:05
Speaker 10: you go past Edgewood you have the rest of Garrison.
• 16:08
Speaker 10: When you go up Edgewood, Ward seven also encumbasses wood Roads,
• 16:12
Speaker 10: Stone on Drive Summit. It goes over I believe to
• 16:17
Speaker 10: white Oak and harlests coming back, say, we're on Crescent,
• 16:22
  Speaker 10: you go down.
• 16:22
Speaker 4: To How long does this trip? By the way, It's.
• 16:25
Speaker 10: Not real long, I promise, I'm just I'm kidding.
• 16:29
Speaker 1: I just want you to see that, like I got you.
• 16:32
Speaker 10: We go all the way for down Crescent, come out
• 16:36
Speaker 10: on Bigley, go down to West Washington, and it ties
• 16:39
Speaker 10: around Charleston Arbor's and it comes back around to Court
• 16:42
  Speaker 10: and then back.
• 16:45
  Speaker 4: Across Spring Street.
• 16:46
Speaker 10: So it looks like a backwards lay. I want to
• 16:49
Speaker 10: take you on a trip this morning day, come on now,
• 16:51
Speaker 10: and I appreciate that.
• 16:53
Speaker 2: So you talked about the issues with dilaviidated housing and
• 16:58
Speaker 2: crime and so on and so forth. What have you
• 17:02
Speaker 2: heard when you're out on the campaign trail? What do
• 17:04
Speaker 2: you hear from people of your ward or in the
• 17:06
Speaker 2: city of Charleston in general, Because you know you're serving
• 17:07
Speaker 2: you're out of Ward seven, but at the end of
• 17:09
Speaker 2: the day, you're still serving the entire city of Charleston.
• 17:11
Speaker 4: So what do you hear today?
• 17:12
Speaker 10: Let me let me touch on that a minute, because
• 17:15
Speaker 10: I think that's really important. And I think what the
• 17:19
Speaker 10: constituents of Ward seven need to know and understand is, yes,
• 17:24
Speaker 10: while things impact, while things in the city impact Ward seven.
• 17:30
Speaker 10: My focus is going to be on Ward seven. It's
• 17:33
Speaker 10: not going to be on what's happening on the East End,
• 17:38
Speaker 10: what's happening over in South Hills. They have their own
• 17:41
Speaker 10: representatives for that. It's not going to be on what's
• 17:45
Speaker 10: happening overseas or what is happening in our state capital
• 17:50
Speaker 10: government that we have no control over. My focus is
• 17:55
Speaker 10: absolutely going to be Ward seven. And again, I understand
• 17:59
Speaker 10: that things happen in the city that impact that area,
• 18:03
Speaker 10: but people are going to vote for me to represent them,
• 18:07
Speaker 10: and that's what I'm going to do. So what I
• 18:09
Speaker 10: have heard as I've gone door to door, So I
• 18:14
Speaker 10: started at Charleston Arbor's and I understand Charleston Arbors is
• 18:18
Speaker 10: a private property, but I had a lot of people
• 18:21
Speaker 10: over there tell me they don't feel safe walking even
• 18:24
Speaker 10: in the parking lot because of the homeless that walk
• 18:28
Speaker 10: around and are in that area. They don't feel safe
• 18:31
Speaker 10: going to the dumpsters because they have a lot of
• 18:35
Speaker 10: people getting in the dumpster that'stro take trash over the
• 18:39
Speaker 10: river bank. They haven't had a neighborhood watch meeting or
• 18:44
Speaker 10: anything over there, and they can't remember, and that's no
• 18:49
Speaker 10: fault of our police department. I believe that whoever represents
• 18:53
Speaker 10: that area should coordinate those for the residents that live there,
• 18:58
Speaker 10: either through you know, the company, or however it needs done.
• 19:04
Speaker 10: And I think that's very important. Those people over their
• 19:07
Speaker 10: need a voice the folks. When I went up on Edgewood,
• 19:11
Speaker 10: it's a whole different ballgame because it's very quiet up there.
• 19:14
Speaker 10: It's a little bit more secluded, if you will, so
• 19:18
Speaker 10: they don't have very many people walk in or coming
• 19:21
Speaker 10: in their neighborhoods, riding bicycles that don't belong. Their homes
• 19:24
Speaker 10: are kept, their lines are kept. Come over to Garson
• 19:28
Speaker 10: and up on Westmoreland Hill and everything Dave, there are
• 19:33
Speaker 10: over twenty abandoned homes with high grass over two feet
• 19:37
Speaker 10: tall that encompasses Garson Avenue and Westmoreland And I'm just
• 19:43
Speaker 10: going to say this our right, that's unacceptable. Whether they've
• 19:48
Speaker 10: been turned in to the proper city departments or whether
• 19:51
Speaker 10: they haven't, it should be on somebody's radar because those
• 19:55
Speaker 10: properties bring down the rest of the property values for
• 19:58
Speaker 10: the other folks that live and work up there that
• 20:00
Speaker 10: are taking care of their homes and their properties. So
• 20:05
Speaker 10: that's something I would like to see worked on. We
• 20:09
Speaker 10: have a lot of homes that need and especially as
• 20:12
Speaker 10: you come down Crescent Road, you're on the interstate, and
• 20:15
Speaker 10: that is the first thing you see when you come
• 20:18
Speaker 10: to Charleston, and it's an eyesore and that area right there,
• 20:23
Speaker 10: those properties are owned by a certain individual that I
• 20:28
Speaker 10: would like to see if we can crack down on
• 20:30
Speaker 10: some of these landlords that don't hold their tenants accountable
• 20:34
Speaker 10: or the city doesn't hold their landlords accountable. So what
• 20:40
Speaker 10: I've heard, those are things I've heard. I've also heard
• 20:44
Speaker 10: that the people, especially up on the Hill, certain areas
• 20:48
Speaker 10: that I went, they feel like if they reach out
• 20:53
Speaker 10: to someone, they're told, well, you can call a hotline,
• 20:57
Speaker 10: you can call this number, you can do this. They
• 21:00
Speaker 10: want a voice. They want a voice, they want someone
• 21:03
Speaker 10: who will represent them. And I feel like I've been
• 21:07
Speaker 10: doing it in the background. I've spoken many times before
• 21:11
Speaker 10: city Council on issues property maintenance, safety, drug activity. I
• 21:18
Speaker 10: had I was and let me say this, I can't
• 21:22
Speaker 10: do this myself. It takes the community. And I feel
• 21:26
Speaker 10: like that I have the trust of a lot of
• 21:29
Speaker 10: folks up Garson Avenue, and I understand Garson is not
• 21:32
Speaker 10: just Ward seven. I get that, but that's the people
• 21:35
Speaker 10: that I interact with the most so far. Just this
• 21:40
Speaker 10: past week, I spoke before City Council about an issue
• 21:42
Speaker 10: on flooding up on Crestlin Drive, and already the city
• 21:46
Speaker 10: has been out, They've looked, They've done their due diligence
• 21:50
Speaker 10: to see what can be done to curb that flooding,
• 21:52
Speaker 10: and I believe there's plans in place to get that
• 21:55
Speaker 10: taken care of so and ihilate. I will communicate these issues,
• 22:01
Speaker 10: these concerns to whoever I need to at City Hall,
• 22:05
Speaker 10: but more importantly, I will communicate back to the people
• 22:09
Speaker 10: to let them know, Hey, I hear you. I am
• 22:11
Speaker 10: doing something for you. I can't promise it's going to
• 22:14
Speaker 10: get done ever, I can't promise it's going to get
• 22:17
Speaker 10: done next week. But Squeaky Wheel, you know, gets the
• 22:21
Speaker 10: grease or whatever that's saying is and I will be
• 22:24
Speaker 10: that person for them.
• 22:26
Speaker 1: Before we let you go.
• 22:27
Speaker 2: There's two things I want to ask you about that
• 22:28
Speaker 2: aren't necessarily in your award, and it's everybody talks about it.
• 22:31
Speaker 2: I've asked you every city council count of this. It's
• 22:33
Speaker 2: the Town Center and the Capital Sports Complex. Town Center
• 22:36
Speaker 2: as you know, is privately owned and the city has
• 22:39
Speaker 2: been at least in negotiations to try to get control
• 22:43
Speaker 2: of that. And of course the Capital supports complex. We
• 22:45
Speaker 2: all know about that. Do you support the Capital Sports Complex?
• 22:48
Speaker 2: And whatever happens with the towns what needs to happen
• 22:50
  Speaker 2: with the town.
• 22:51
Speaker 4: Center'll put it down.
• 22:51
Speaker 10: So let me focus on the town Center first. Okay,
• 22:55
Speaker 10: I do I would like to see the town Center
• 22:57
Speaker 10: come back in some capacity. I do not think that
• 23:00
  Speaker 10: it is a burden. I don't want to say a
• 23:04
Speaker 10: burden financially. I don't think that the city should be
• 23:07
Speaker 10: responsible for funding the regrowth or rebirth of the town Center.
• 23:13
Speaker 10: But what I would like to see with the town
• 23:14
Speaker 10: Center I would like to see maybe the first floor shops,
• 23:18
Speaker 10: coffee shops, boutiques, place where people can gather. I think
• 23:22
Speaker 10: if we could get maybe a rooftop bar at where
• 23:25
Speaker 10: one of the anchor stores were. The second floor I
• 23:28
Speaker 10: think would be more of an entertainment venue, maybe somehow
• 23:33
Speaker 10: to tie it in with a sports complex. The third floor,
• 23:37
Speaker 10: you know, we have social media. Social media is almost
• 23:40
Speaker 10: everybody's life. I would like the third floor maybe to
• 23:43
Speaker 10: be residential areas, office spaces, even little boutiques that social
• 23:48
Speaker 10: media influencers can go to, or people can go to
• 23:52
Speaker 10: coming out of town that need a workspace that can't really,
• 23:55
Speaker 10: you know, afford a big conference. Yes, yes, that's what
• 23:59
Speaker 10: I would like to see for our town center. Plus,
• 24:01
Speaker 10: it would be a way to tie in Slack Plaza.
• 24:04
Speaker 10: You've got Brawley Walkway, but you have to have something
• 24:09
Speaker 10: that will entice the people the other side. The sports complex.
• 24:13
Speaker 10: How does that come into play. I think if we
• 24:16
Speaker 10: can figure out a way to tie the sports complex
• 24:18
Speaker 10: into that, and then you've got the Civic Center, coliseum,
• 24:22
Speaker 10: a convention center. I think with the sports complex, though,
• 24:27
Speaker 10: I think we need to be able to make sure
• 24:29
Speaker 10: that it also not only brings people in, but also
• 24:34
Speaker 10: brings people from the community in. Make it such that
• 24:39
Speaker 10: it's an area for teens, kids in the neighborhoods that
• 24:44
Speaker 10: they have a place to go because they've not everybody
• 24:47
Speaker 10: can afford to have a membership at the Why or
• 24:49
Speaker 10: a membership at Nautilus. So I think for our children,
• 24:53
Speaker 10: I think if we can figure out a way to
• 24:55
Speaker 10: tie that in or to bring them be able to
• 24:58
Speaker 10: bring them in and get them involved, I think that
• 25:01
Speaker 10: would be a good thing as well.
• 25:02
Speaker 4: A good website. Social media. You met social media, so.
• 25:05
Speaker 10: I have a social media I'm on Facebook don Ashworth

• 25:30
Speaker 10: I want our city to be safe. I want our
• 25:31
Speaker 10: Ward to be safe. I'm not going to do anything
• 25:33
Speaker 10: to pull police resources away from things that are important.
• 25:40
Speaker 10: I am not going to make a lot of promises
• 25:43
Speaker 10: that I can keep. What I will promise the residents
• 25:46
Speaker 10: is I will be there for them. I will listen
• 25:48
Speaker 10: to them, and I will take their concerns to city Hall,
• 25:51
Speaker 10: to the proper city departments to make our Ward a
• 25:56
Speaker 10: better place, safely community, so that we can grow like
• 26:02
Speaker 10: other areas of Charleston have grown in the last few years.
• 26:05
Speaker 4: Don Ashworth, appreciate you being here. Thank you so much, Dave,

Speaker 14: do the right thing, and they're very skilled. They have

• 28:34
Speaker 15: Good morning, Dave. I'm happy to be here.
• 28:36
Speaker 4: Goo shure baya. Who are you all right?
• 28:37
Speaker 15: Well, my name is Elina Schweckler. As we mentioned, I
• 28:39
Speaker 15: am a thirty one year old mom of two small boys.
• 28:43
Speaker 15: I have an eleven year old and a seven year old.
• 28:45
Speaker 15: I'm also a small business owner here in St.
• 28:47
  Speaker 13: Albans.
• 28:48
Speaker 15: Actually, I just moved to my alternative art studio right
• 28:51
Speaker 15: to the heart of St. Albins, so I'm very excited
• 28:53
Speaker 15: to start getting some community events and things like that
• 28:55
Speaker 15: out there. But I'm also not a native West Virginia.
• 28:58
Speaker 15: I am actually a transplant to the state. I am
• 29:01
Speaker 15: I came here roughly about four or five years ago
• 29:03
Speaker 15: and kind of just laid down some roots, started building
• 29:05
Speaker 15: a business, started raising my kids here. Very excited to
• 29:09
Speaker 15: see what we can do here together, you know what
• 29:11
Speaker 15: I mean. But yeah, I have a lot of experience
• 29:15
Speaker 15: and advocacy work. I've done a lot of a lot
• 29:17
Speaker 15: of yelling at people, a lot of yelling in that
• 29:20
  Speaker 15: big house.
• 29:20
  Speaker 11: Well you're there.
• 29:21
Speaker 4: You didn't so you had kids, so that's because of
• 29:23
  Speaker 4: the natural.
• 29:25
  Speaker 15: But yeah, I did a lot of I don't want
• 29:27
Speaker 15: to call it lobbying work necessarily, but a lot of
• 29:29
Speaker 15: advocacy work in the capital. Over this last legislative session,
• 29:32
Speaker 15: I was brought in by a few of my friends
• 29:34
Speaker 15: with the AHLU and they kind of just asked for
• 29:36
Speaker 15: my mouth. So that's kind of what caught me here.
• 29:40
  Speaker 4: I'm interested in.
• 29:42
Speaker 2: You don't have to tell this the whole story about
• 29:43
Speaker 2: how you got here, but why what was it that
• 29:47
Speaker 2: appealed to you about about being in this area?
• 29:50
Speaker 15: I and the hopefully we don't get a little emotional,
• 29:52
Speaker 15: but I was brought here actually off of business. It
• 29:56
Speaker 15: was something I had a friend who owned a business
• 29:59
Speaker 15: here and also in the beauty industry, and she asked
• 30:02
Speaker 15: me to come out and help her run with like
• 30:03
Speaker 15: the marketing side of things, and that actually did not
• 30:05
Speaker 15: pan out the way that we expected, which perfectly fine
• 30:08
Speaker 15: because I love where we ended up. But that's what
• 30:10
Speaker 15: brought me out here to begin with. And I was
• 30:12
Speaker 15: really just looking for a change. I have lived in
• 30:13
Speaker 15: New Jersey most of my life. I lived in Ohio
• 30:15
Speaker 15: for a little bit of time, but I grew up
• 30:17
Speaker 15: in the foster care system, and there's a New Jersey's
• 30:20
Speaker 15: only but this big so there's I bounced all around
• 30:23
Speaker 15: New Jersey in the system, and I think I was
• 30:25
Speaker 15: really just looking for some type of like peace, to
• 30:28
Speaker 15: say the least. And if there's one thing Westergainia can offer,
• 30:31
Speaker 15: it's some peace. So coming here the first time I
• 30:33
Speaker 15: drove through these mountains, I was like, I don't think
• 30:35
Speaker 15: I ever want to leave. I get panic attacks when
• 30:37
  Speaker 15: I leave.
• 30:37
Speaker 2: We need so much more of that, I mean, really, yeah,
• 30:41
Speaker 2: you know so much more that.
• 30:43
  Speaker 15: I agree.
• 30:43
Speaker 2: You mentioned the foster care system. That is one of
• 30:45
Speaker 2: the biggest things that's every that comes.
• 30:48
  Speaker 1: Up every year.
• 30:49
Speaker 2: And I'm gonna be honest with you, there's great people
• 30:51
Speaker 2: in the system, but we don't seem to be getting
• 30:55
Speaker 2: a lot of making up a lot of ground with
• 30:58
Speaker 2: all the issues that we have. As someone who is
• 31:00
Speaker 2: and I don't want to get too personal, but as
• 31:02
Speaker 2: someone who is a product of the foster care what
• 31:04
Speaker 2: does that how does that lend that to help you
• 31:07
Speaker 2: out and to be able to tackle these issues we have.
• 31:09
Speaker 15: The first thing I will say on that is one
• 31:11
Speaker 15: of the things I learned very early on in the
• 31:13
Speaker 15: foster care system is that the squeaky wheels what gets
• 31:15
Speaker 15: the oil. So I learned very early on how to
• 31:18
Speaker 15: fight for the things that you need, because if you don't,
• 31:20
Speaker 15: you won't get it. But outside of that, I think
• 31:23
Speaker 15: it does give me a lot of firsthand experience on
• 31:25
Speaker 15: some of the struggles that our most vulnerable communities experience
• 31:28
Speaker 15: that we don't hear from very often. I experienced homelessness
• 31:32
Speaker 15: in the system. I've lived in abandoned houses growing up
• 31:35
Speaker 15: in the system. I have experienced all levels of abuses,
• 31:39
Speaker 15: and I think we just don't get a lot of
• 31:40
Speaker 15: advocacy for that. Like being in the legislative session this
• 31:43
Speaker 15: last you know session, Ever, here there was a couple
• 31:47
Speaker 15: of bills that came up even regarding like privatizing like
• 31:50
Speaker 15: the foster care system, and making it like a for
• 31:52
Speaker 15: profit industry, and that is I cannot stress how harmful
• 31:55
Speaker 15: that is for kids. When you start putting a dollar
• 31:57
Speaker 15: sign on kids' heads, it obviously becomes extremely dangerous for
• 32:00
Speaker 15: these children. But outside of that, there's a lot of
• 32:02
Speaker 15: retaliation based like circumstances in the CPS industry as a whole,
• 32:07
Speaker 15: not just West Virginia, not just where I'm from, just everywhere.
• 32:10
Speaker 15: There's a lot of like school system failures where they're
• 32:13
Speaker 15: not reporting things, they are letting kids, you know, get
• 32:16
Speaker 15: pulled out of the school system after like abuse allegations
• 32:19
Speaker 15: and things like that. And I am personally experiencing that
• 32:22
Speaker 15: I've reported my abuse and got sent home right after.
• 32:25
  Speaker 15: So like, there's just a lot of there's a lot
• 32:27
Speaker 15: of reform needed within our CPS system as a whole
• 32:30
Speaker 15: here and just nationally, to be quite honest, Now.
• 32:33
Speaker 4: You're running into the forty eighth, explain the forty eighth
• 32:35
Speaker 4: to us. One of the biggest needs.
• 32:37
Speaker 15: Of that district, So District fifty eight, but that I'm sorry,
• 32:40
Speaker 15: it's okay, close enough.
• 32:42
Speaker 4: But that reading not good.
• 32:44
Speaker 15: It happens, and I'm sure you've done this so many times,
• 32:46
Speaker 15: but so district fifty eight to kind of start off
• 32:48
Speaker 15: for what it is, where it's at. It is Saint Albans,
• 32:51
Speaker 15: part of Saint Alban's West Dunbar Institute, Jefferson and East Nitro,
• 32:57
Speaker 15: and from I started my canvassing out and are more
• 33:00
Speaker 15: vulnerable parts of the district that don't typically get heard.
• 33:03
Speaker 15: So I did go straight to the bottom in Dunbar,
• 33:06
Speaker 15: right in Institute in West Dunbar, and I wanted to
• 33:08
Speaker 15: hear what they had to say, because nine times out
• 33:10
Speaker 15: of ten they're not They're not turning out to vote,
• 33:12
Speaker 15: they're not turning out to be heard because they don't
• 33:15
Speaker 15: feel like they're hurt, so they just don't even waste
• 33:16
Speaker 15: their time, they don't waste their breath. And a lot
• 33:18
Speaker 15: of the things that I've heard are affordability problems, economic development,
• 33:21
Speaker 15: not having jobs, not having childcare, not having i mean
• 33:24
Speaker 15: grocery stores, moving out of the district. But a lot
• 33:27
Speaker 15: of it seems to be centered around the biggest complaint
• 33:31
Speaker 15: that I hear is not being listened to. That seems
• 33:33
Speaker 15: too genuinely. Whether it's in public education, whether it's in affordability,
• 33:37
Speaker 15: economic development, or even just in writing laws, people just
• 33:40
Speaker 15: are feeling like they are not represented and not listened to,
• 33:43
Speaker 15: and that is absolutely something I want to change. I've
• 33:44
Speaker 15: ran my whole platform off of being accessible, being accessible,
• 33:50
Speaker 15: being transparent. If I did something, If I do something wrong,
• 33:52
Speaker 15: I ask people to hold me accountable for it. I
• 33:54
Speaker 15: want you to have conversations with me, and I want
• 33:55
Speaker 15: you to criticize me like that has been That has
• 33:58
Speaker 15: been my new aid each politics kind of mindset that
• 34:02
Speaker 15: I'm trying to bring with me.
• 34:03
Speaker 2: So as as you've been out you you mentioned this
• 34:07
Speaker 2: a little bit, we'll kind of expand up in this.
• 34:08
Speaker 4: What are you hearing from people?
• 34:11
Speaker 15: I hear a lot of Honestly. When I first stepped
• 34:14
Speaker 15: like foot, especially specifically in Dunbar, the main thing that
• 34:17
Speaker 15: I started hearing was, we haven't seen somebody here in
• 34:20
Speaker 15: ten years, so we haven't, you know, seen a candidate
• 34:22
Speaker 15: here in x amount of time. Blah blah blah, not
• 34:25
Speaker 15: blah blah blah. But I gotcha, lots of disdain with
• 34:29
Speaker 15: our current representation. They feel as though the current representation,
• 34:34
Speaker 15: the current incumbent that's in office, only recognize the Saint
• 34:37
Speaker 15: Albans as a whole, and they don't seem to be
• 34:40
Speaker 15: paying attention to the things that are afflicting the lower communities,
• 34:44
Speaker 15: the more impoverished communities. They feel as though even pulling
• 34:48
Speaker 15: their kids out of the public education system, they're funding
• 34:51
Speaker 15: these hope you know, the hopevoucher program with more than
• 34:53
Speaker 15: what they're funding the public education system, and they're feeling
• 34:57
Speaker 15: like they're not being listened to in the sense of
• 34:59
Speaker 15: everybody he keeps screaming about enrollment rates and rollment rates
• 35:01
Speaker 15: and rollment rates, and we have to get public education funding,
• 35:03
Speaker 15: but no one's looking at the root causes of these things,
• 35:05
Speaker 15: and that is why are they taking them out of school?
• 35:08
Speaker 15: And every single answer I hear is because they're not
• 35:10
Speaker 15: being listened to. I know it sounds like it's a
• 35:13
Speaker 15: very like generic response, but that that really is seems
• 35:17
Speaker 15: to be. What is the biggest problem within our district,
• 35:19
Speaker 15: in our state as a whole, is that people just
• 35:21
Speaker 15: are not represent Our representatives are being elected and they're
• 35:23
Speaker 15: not listening to the people that they're meant to represent.
• 35:26
Speaker 15: I think if we just all sit down and listen
• 35:27
Speaker 15: to these people a little bit more, we would actually
• 35:29
Speaker 15: be able to make better decisions for them, because we're
• 35:31
Speaker 15: not just assuming we know what's best for them. We're
• 35:33
Speaker 15: actually hearing them out and trying to make what happen
• 35:36
Speaker 15: what's best for them.
• 35:37
Speaker 4: How's the campaign been? I mean, you know, you're getting
• 35:41
Speaker 4: your name out there because you said you're You're not
• 35:42
Speaker 4: from here, but you certainly you chose. I love stories
• 35:45
Speaker 4: and people say they chose to be here. I like that.
• 35:47
Speaker 4: So how's the campaign been for you?
• 35:49
  Speaker 15: Honestly, it's been a ride. It's been something I had
• 35:52
Speaker 15: never expected. I would not have ever expected to see
• 35:55
Speaker 15: myself in the seat. I'm in the beauty industry, so
• 35:57
Speaker 15: I would not have expected to ever be in politics.
• 35:59
Speaker 15: But it feels natural. It feels very like a natural
• 36:04
Speaker 15: evolution to the advocacy. But it's been honestly, very much
• 36:09
Speaker 15: a growth journey than anything else I have. I'm obviously
• 36:12
Speaker 15: a little bit younger than most people that are running
• 36:14
Speaker 15: for these seats, but it's been it's been very formative.
• 36:18
  Speaker 15: I will say I've met a lot of people. I've
• 36:20
Speaker 15: networked with a lot of people. I've had a lot
• 36:23
Speaker 15: of very very good conversations and like emotional conversations with
• 36:27
Speaker 15: people where people are being vulnerable with me and really
• 36:29
Speaker 15: like letting me hear what they have to say, and
• 36:32
  Speaker 15: I don't know, it's just been really great. I win
• 36:34
Speaker 15: or lose tomorrow. I am very excited about the work
• 36:36
Speaker 15: that we've done, and I'm excited to do more. We've
• 36:39
Speaker 15: done a lot of like advocacy with some local groups
• 36:41
Speaker 15: and raising like donations, and we've done some fundraisers for
• 36:45
Speaker 15: some like the Solidarity Fund out of Charleston and different
• 36:49
Speaker 15: things like that. So I'm very excited to see what
• 36:51
Speaker 15: else we do with or without a win. To be
• 36:52
  Speaker 15: completely honest.
• 36:54
Speaker 4: Final thirty wat should someone vote for you for the
• 36:56
Speaker 4: House in District fifty eight because I'm a fighter.
• 37:00
Speaker 15: Because I'm a fighter, as I mentioned the squeaky weels,
• 37:02
Speaker 15: WHI gets the oil, and I have learned, experienced done
• 37:06
Speaker 15: it where I have had to be that voice for
• 37:09
Speaker 15: people who haven't had one. I have gone up there
• 37:12
Speaker 15: and I've advocated for our immigrant community. I've gone up
• 37:14
Speaker 15: there and I've you know what I mean, call those
• 37:16
Speaker 15: people out and have conversations. I pronount literature. I've had
• 37:19
Speaker 15: the hard talks with people, and I know back down.
• 37:22
Speaker 15: Quite frankly, I'm not a bought and sold person. I'm
• 37:24
Speaker 15: not a one issue candidate. I fight for all of
• 37:26
Speaker 15: the different things that are affecting us, and I think
• 37:28
Speaker 15: I'd be a great voice for our people, all right,
• 37:30
Speaker 15: Elina Schweckler, Yes, you're.
• 37:35
Speaker 2: A Democrat run for House in the fifty eighth differct.

Speaker 16: Conservative justice Jo Titus spent his career fighting for both.
• 38:02
Speaker 16: As a prosecutor, Titus took on criminals and traffickers. Now,
• 38:07
Speaker 16: as a justice, he applies the law as written fairly
• 38:11
Speaker 16: and independently. Endorsed by law enforcement, he stands with those
• 38:16
Speaker 16: who protect and serve because when courts uphold the law,
• 38:19
Speaker 16: criminals are held accountable and communities are safer. For Justice Titus,
• 38:24
  Speaker 16: it's personal.
• 38:26
Speaker 3: On justice Gerald Titus, I spent my career upholding the

Speaker 3: now my wife and I are raising our family in

Speaker 4: Night seven six. Look, who's here? It's Danny Jones. How
• 41:03
Speaker 4: you doing? My friend?
• 41:04
  Speaker 5: Good?
• 41:05
Speaker 4: All right? So why should someone vote for you?
• 41:06
  Speaker 6: Oh?
• 41:06
  Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I'm just it's a habit by it.
• 41:08
Speaker 20: And let me ask you a question? You got is
• 41:10
Speaker 20: Stuart gonna be in the studio?
• 41:12
  Speaker 4: No, I don't know, I don't think.
• 41:14
Speaker 5: So what does he do now?
• 41:16
Speaker 4: He's in the in the Trump administration?
• 41:18
Speaker 5: Do we know what?
• 41:20
Speaker 4: Well, his job titles changed a little bit. You know,
• 41:22
Speaker 4: he worked for Kennedy, Robert Kennedy.
• 41:24
  Speaker 2: He's still there, but he's uh, I'll get he's probably
• 41:27
Speaker 2: listening because he listens to the show in DC every
• 41:29
Speaker 2: day on the app.
• 41:30
Speaker 4: So I'll get his exact job title before today.
• 41:33
Speaker 5: So too deep for me?
• 41:34
Speaker 2: Okay, what do you what do you make of this
• 41:38
Speaker 2: campaign session and all this the flyers and the advertising
• 41:41
Speaker 2: and so on. The Republican somebody referred to it on
• 41:43
Speaker 2: the text line as Republicans eating Republicans.
• 41:46
Speaker 4: What do you make of the whole thing?
• 41:47
Speaker 20: Well, when you get that big of majority, of course,
• 41:50
  Speaker 20: that's what's gonna happen.
• 41:51
Speaker 2: But has it ever been like this before in your opinion,
• 41:55
Speaker 2: I mean, even when the Democrats were in charge, or
• 41:58
Speaker 2: even when Republicans. I mean, here's my take on it, Danny,
• 42:01
Speaker 2: and I would much prefer to hear yours one way
• 42:04
Speaker 2: or the other. They're all going to have to work together,
• 42:06
Speaker 2: and the governor has backed his candidates. He's arguing to
• 42:11
Speaker 2: people on Facebook, you know, about things and social media
• 42:15
Speaker 2: and so on and so forth. He's got his particular candidates,
• 42:18
Speaker 2: some more than likely by the numbers, some will win,
• 42:20
Speaker 2: some won't, and they're all going to have to like
• 42:23
Speaker 2: look at each other, and it's gonna be hard to
• 42:25
Speaker 2: get a lot of things done.
• 42:26
Speaker 20: In my opinion, Yeah, he got were early two parties up.
• 42:29
Speaker 20: There is Takoubo is the governor against him or.
• 42:34
Speaker 4: For He's I don't want to put words in the
• 42:37
  Speaker 4: governor's mouth, but.
• 42:38
Speaker 20: Yes, I'm for Tom Okay, all right, all right, And
• 42:42
Speaker 20: I'm for Mark Harmon. Those are the two that I
• 42:44
Speaker 20: care about. I don't know much about the rest of them.
• 42:47
Speaker 2: But here is the thing that I say where it's
• 42:49
Speaker 2: taken an ugly turn. Number one, all this money Danny's
• 42:52
Speaker 2: coming in from out of state organizations, you know, and
• 42:55
Speaker 2: they may and somebody called me out of that said, well,
• 42:58
Speaker 2: there's they're run by some one of them is run
• 43:00
Speaker 2: by somebody allegedly from West Virginia. Okay, all right, that's
• 43:04
Speaker 2: that's that. But all this money is coming in DJ.
• 43:07
Speaker 2: What's the what's the current total? What's the current total?
• 43:11
Speaker 2: Five five million? Five five million dollars has been spent
• 43:15
Speaker 2: so far on a primary election.
• 43:18
Speaker 5: Why would the governor be against Tacubo? I mean, isn't
• 43:22
Speaker 5: he the majority of the leader?
• 43:23
Speaker 2: Well, no, it's I mean I think that he feels
• 43:26
Speaker 2: and I again, I'm not trying to put words into
• 43:28
Speaker 2: governor's mouth. By the way, Governor Morrisey, you're always welcome
• 43:30
Speaker 2: on the show, either.
• 43:31
Speaker 4: One of the shows.
• 43:33
Speaker 2: He wants his type of Republican in there. I mean,
• 43:36
Speaker 2: further right, he doesn't see a Takubo or somebody like
• 43:40
Speaker 2: that being far right enough. He wants his own He
• 43:42
Speaker 2: wants his own people in there. True conservatives is what
• 43:46
Speaker 2: he calls men, not rhinos.
• 43:48
  Speaker 5: Not rhinos.
• 43:49
Speaker 20: Yeah, we're going to accept the definition of rhino from
• 43:55
Speaker 20: from a guy that.
• 43:57
Speaker 5: Not even from here.
• 43:58
Speaker 2: But well, but I mean it could be argued there's
• 44:01
Speaker 2: been other I mean other politicians that have come here,
• 44:05
Speaker 2: I mean, not as Republican. Jay Rockefeller wasn't from here.
• 44:08
Speaker 20: Came here in sixty five, got elected the House in
• 44:13
Speaker 20: sixty six, ran for a secretary of State in sixty eight,
• 44:17
Speaker 20: ran for governor in seventy two, and Arch gave him
• 44:21
Speaker 20: a good woman. But of course Nixon was on the ballot,
• 44:24
Speaker 20: and Nixon won by two hundred and fifty thousand votes.
• 44:27
Speaker 20: Arch won by eighty thousand. But he I'll tell you
• 44:35
Speaker 20: a little story, dk Bertone before Gasson got elected governor,
• 44:42
Speaker 20: I'd been elected sheriff in eighty four. She was running
• 44:45
Speaker 20: for the House in eighty six and she said to me.
• 44:49
Speaker 20: She stopped me on the street and she says, I'm
• 44:52
Speaker 20: going to run for the House and I want to
• 44:55
Speaker 20: come in first. How much second I cost? I said
• 44:59
Speaker 20: fifty thousand, and she said, well, I'll spend twenty five.
• 45:04
Speaker 20: She spent sixty and she came in behind Martha Whirling,
• 45:12
Speaker 20: so they were first and second.
• 45:13
Speaker 2: Okay, I mean the amount of money in politics right now, again,
• 45:19
Speaker 2: is somebody pointing out on the tax line all these
• 45:21
Speaker 2: millions of dollars and the time that and forget about
• 45:24
Speaker 2: the packs. What the candidates themselves, their campaigns are having
• 45:28
Speaker 2: to spend to run for a job that pays twenty
• 45:31
Speaker 2: twenty five thousand dollars a year.
• 45:33
Speaker 20: Yeah, it paid. I'm trying to think. I think it
• 45:37
Speaker 20: paid sixty five hundred when I lived there.
• 45:42
Speaker 2: Tex says, Okay, Democrats, you have one of your own
• 45:44
Speaker 2: who's a transplant from New Jersey and Ohio running for
• 45:47
Speaker 2: office in the fifty eighth So where are your screech
• 45:49
Speaker 2: is now of how you don't want a carpetbager running
• 45:52
  Speaker 2: running West Virginia.
• 45:53
  Speaker 4: Crickets is a.
• 45:54
Speaker 5: Texture, what's none of you?
• 45:57
Speaker 2: That was the last person that I just interviewed, Onlyckler
• 46:00
Speaker 2: is I mean, she had an interview now she's I mean,
• 46:03
Speaker 2: she grew up in New Jersey, but she chose West Virginia.
• 46:06
Speaker 5: She talked so quick.
• 46:08
Speaker 2: Well, what they're saying is is that the Democrats have frequently,
• 46:11
Speaker 2: I guess referred to Patrick Morrissey and as being a
• 46:15
Speaker 2: carpetbagger and whatever, and that they haven't spoken out against
• 46:19
  Speaker 2: this particular Canada.
• 46:20
  Speaker 4: I guess, I guess.
• 46:22
Speaker 2: Uh, Tex says Dave, I know Jay Rockefeller and Patrick
• 46:26
Speaker 2: Morrissey is no Jay Rockefeller.
• 46:27
Speaker 4: This it's a text. Well do you do you have
• 46:32
Speaker 4: a relationship with Governor Morrisey? No?
• 46:35
Speaker 20: Oh, he came in my restaurant. He came to my
• 46:37
Speaker 20: restaurant a couple of times. If we saw each other
• 46:40
Speaker 20: on the treat I think he knows who I am.
• 46:42
Speaker 4: Well, it's because you're Danny Jones.

• 47:01
Speaker 5: Well, she's the mother of my two boys.
• 47:05

• 47:13
Speaker 20: Jarrett is coming home maybe this week from via My.
• 47:21
Speaker 4: What's he wanted to do with his life? Do you
• 47:22
Speaker 4: have any idea yet?
• 47:24
  Speaker 20: I think he's been offered a Army scholarship, I mean,
• 47:30
  Speaker 20: I hope so.
• 47:34
Speaker 4: Would would he consider a career in the military. I mean,
• 47:37
Speaker 4: in the long term.
• 47:39
Speaker 5: You got to step in the water before you find out.
• 47:41
Speaker 4: I feel like it.
• 47:42
Speaker 5: Okay, I look back on it with me, and I'll
• 47:48
Speaker 5: tell you what. It was too boring for me.
• 47:50

• 48:13
  Speaker 20: But that's what I did. And I mean I learned.
• 48:18
Speaker 20: I was a professional skater. I knew how to skate.
