- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Play fake, go to roll right, jumps it
- 0:07Speaker 1: off into the right flass to Michael Bumpers, who bounces
- 0:09Speaker 1: off of one tackler, gets inside the forty down of
- 0:12Speaker 1: the thirty five yard line. Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Matt pumpfake's looking at the go line, he throws it
- 0:17Speaker 1: into the end zone. Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Bumpers with a diving catching the end zone on ten
- 0:24Speaker 2: yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid out of
- 0:27Speaker 2: Washington State has found himself a.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Place on this team. Now here's your host, Nasa Jovie.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk this week, the
- 0:38Speaker 2: Seahawks getting ready to take on the Atlanta Falcons.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Bump.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But before we get into that, we weren't able to
- 0:44Speaker 2: connect before after the forty nine Ers game, but we
- 0:46Speaker 2: just want to touch on that a little bit. We're
- 0:47Speaker 2: not gonna take a lot of time, so don't worry
- 0:49Speaker 2: about a y'all, but a couple of.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Main takeos I want to get to.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And last Thursday night was tough, Bump because the Seahawks
- 0:55Speaker 2: have lost. Now six in a row to the forty
- 0:57Speaker 2: nine ers, which just pains me to say night. It
- 1:00Speaker 2: just hurts my soul. But when you look at all
- 1:03Speaker 2: the last six games, that game was the one I
- 1:06Speaker 2: think the Seahawks really.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Could have gotten. Yeah, man, it felt like a missed opportunity.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And when you break through that game, you know the
- 1:12Speaker 2: Seahwks obviously didn't play incredibly well. They were down twenty
- 1:15Speaker 2: three to three. It looked like things were in really
- 1:17Speaker 2: dire straits. But then our guy Leabiscus Chanal takes it
- 1:20Speaker 2: ninety seven yards to the crib. Then the Seahawks get
- 1:23Speaker 2: a stop thirteen played ninety four yard drive, found themselves
- 1:25Speaker 2: down six points. Then unfortunately Genos Fith gets picked off
- 1:29Speaker 2: on the attempt to decay.
- 1:31Speaker 3: But after all that Seahawks.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Score bring it to twenty nine to twenty four a
- 1:35Speaker 2: minute forty four maning with all three timeouts, and if
- 1:38Speaker 2: it wasn't for a procedure penalty, they could have scored
- 1:40Speaker 2: with four to forty six were to have completely changed
- 1:42Speaker 2: the game anyway, seventy six yard run by their running
- 1:45Speaker 2: back and it's kind of over there. So despite everything
- 1:48Speaker 2: that we saw, despite as poorly as they played at
- 1:51Speaker 2: times when you look at the film when you had
- 1:52Speaker 2: time to digest it or your kind of main takeaways
- 1:54Speaker 2: from that game.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Main takeaways was, you know, the Niners they're turning a corner.
- 1:59Speaker 4: It's been tough for them to year and they're starting
- 2:01Speaker 4: to figure themselves out. I mean, Mason has been great
- 2:03Speaker 4: this whole year, and they're just for sure tacklers. It
- 2:06Speaker 4: seems like the tackling has gone down for the Seahawks.
- 2:09Speaker 4: And then I went out, I looked up the tackling
- 2:10Speaker 4: right miss tackles. I just knew the Seahawks are going
- 2:12Speaker 4: to be up there. Went through PFF. You wouldn't be surprised.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Niners have the least miss tackles at four. Team the
- 2:18Speaker 4: most are like the Buccaneers at forty four and the
- 2:21Speaker 4: Hawks are like right in the middle around twenty four.
- 2:23Speaker 4: So it's not a huge problem, but it's something that
- 2:26Speaker 4: popped up. I look at the Niners' offense, they just
- 2:28Speaker 4: do a great job of getting bodies on our linebackers.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Baker and Dodson had a tough day.
- 2:33Speaker 4: If you get guards free releasing to these backers, it's
- 2:36Speaker 4: gonna be tough for any linebacker to get loose every
- 2:38Speaker 4: single play and then again not being able to run
- 2:41Speaker 4: the football. You come out, you tried to run the football.
- 2:43Speaker 4: What twenty carries or fifty yards or something like that.
- 2:46Speaker 4: You tried to run it. You tried. But then once
- 2:48Speaker 4: you get behind, it's twenty three to three at one point,
- 2:51Speaker 4: Thank goodness for Laviska for taking that kickoff to the house.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Once you're down, the game plan is different. I know
- 2:56Speaker 4: you came in grab you want to run it, but
- 2:58Speaker 4: his hands are tied. At some point he has to
- 3:00Speaker 4: score quickly. They become predictable and then they start dropping
- 3:03Speaker 4: seven and eight and makes it harder for Gino to
- 3:05Speaker 4: make some plays. But like you said, they were still
- 3:08Speaker 4: in it. If there was a game for them to
- 3:09Speaker 4: win against the Niners, this was the one. That's why
- 3:12Speaker 4: it hurts so much.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Well, the nice thing the Seahawks play the forty nine
- 3:15Speaker 2: ers down in Santa Clara.
- 3:17Speaker 3: It'll be off of a bye week.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I don't know if that's happened during that streak, so
- 3:20Speaker 2: it'll be nice to see that happen playing them well
- 3:22Speaker 2: rested and despite the three losses, in some tough moments,
- 3:24Speaker 2: but the Seahawks have been within a touchdown in the
- 3:27Speaker 2: fourth quarter of every game they've lost during the streak,
- 3:30Speaker 2: so it's pretty wild. They haven't played their best football
- 3:32Speaker 2: over this stretch, but they're still in games, which is
- 3:34Speaker 2: good to see. One thing though, we'll talk before we
- 3:36Speaker 2: get into the Falcons a couple of roster moves. The
- 3:38Speaker 2: Seahawks bolster their defensive line depth, adding Roy Robertson Harris.
- 3:43Speaker 2: He's thirty one years old, paired in one hundred and
- 3:45Speaker 2: six games with sixty two starts since coming out of
- 3:47Speaker 2: the league undrafted at a UTEP in twenty sixteen. He
- 3:50Speaker 2: played in Chicago, was just late lately in Jacksonville, starting
- 3:54Speaker 2: forty nine to fifty four games, including seventeen starts each
- 3:57Speaker 2: of the past two seasons. Over the course of eight years,
- 3:59Speaker 2: he has one hundred and ninety eight tackles, nineteen sacks,
- 4:02Speaker 2: twenty six TfL sixty six quarterback hits, and thirteen passes defended.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Bump How does he help this front seven big boy win?
- 4:09Speaker 4: Washing the film, first thing I noticed was pop. You
- 4:11Speaker 4: know when you see the offensive lineman and defensive lineman
- 4:14Speaker 4: go to the sled and it's popped the sled and
- 4:16Speaker 4: you feel the violence. I felt the violence through the
- 4:18Speaker 4: film with this dude right here. And also he can
- 4:20Speaker 4: play inside and play outside as of lady. He's been
- 4:23Speaker 4: playing kind of outside d n kind of look with
- 4:25Speaker 4: the Jags, but he's also played inside as well, so
- 4:27Speaker 4: he can take on these double teams. Man six five,
- 4:30Speaker 4: two hundred and ninety pounds, he's a big boy.
- 4:33Speaker 3: He's gonna help with this rotation. I'm watching film.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Man, it's hard to take on double teams consistently and say,
- 4:38Speaker 4: fresh Hankins tough. I see him late in the game.
- 4:40Speaker 4: My man is tired. Cam Young if he were tired,
- 4:44Speaker 4: it's just when you's two against one, it is hard
- 4:47Speaker 4: to keep that same tempo throughout the game. So you
- 4:50Speaker 4: get Bira Murphy back this week hopefully, and then you
- 4:52Speaker 4: gotta We'll see how much Roy plays, and I think
- 4:55Speaker 4: it's gonna help their rotation. The good thing about defensive line,
- 4:58Speaker 4: it's one. It's not an easy position. They'll get me wrong,
- 5:01Speaker 4: of course, but if you are going to insert somebody
- 5:03Speaker 4: in a short week and say go ahead and get it,
- 5:05Speaker 4: defensive line is where you do it. This is your gap.
- 5:08Speaker 4: He can look back to Dotson or Baker. I wear
- 5:10Speaker 4: my hat line me up. This is my gap. Cool,
- 5:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna go get it.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 2: No. And the thing about defensive lines, even when the
- 5:16Speaker 2: Sious had their best defensive line twenty thirteen, they weren't
- 5:19Speaker 2: playing seventy ninety percent of the snaps. They need to
- 5:22Speaker 2: be rested so they can really get after when they're
- 5:24Speaker 2: in there. So it'll be good to see what he
- 5:26Speaker 2: can do. There some unfortunate new see US play starting
- 5:29Speaker 2: safety Rayshawn Jenkins on IR on Wednesday, meanings he's gonna
- 5:31Speaker 2: have to miss at least four games. Jenkins was a
- 5:34Speaker 2: free agent this year, third in the team in tackles
- 5:36Speaker 2: and played every snap on defense. Bump so obviously a
- 5:39Speaker 2: huge bummer there. He's been trying to get through it
- 5:41Speaker 2: the last couple weeks with that club on his hand.
- 5:44Speaker 2: But the cool thing about this for me, Bump is
- 5:46Speaker 2: just going to get an opportunity for guys like Kobe
- 5:48Speaker 2: Bryant and Cavon Wallace.
- 5:50Speaker 3: How do you think they're gonna step into this? I
- 5:51Speaker 3: think they'll be fine. Man.
- 5:52Speaker 4: We've seen Wallace a few times this year. He's actually
- 5:54Speaker 4: made some plays this year in the flap. I'm the
- 5:56Speaker 4: one I'm more excited to see is Kobe Bryant because
- 5:59Speaker 4: he started his career off great forest fumbles. He can
- 6:02Speaker 4: play nickel corner, the safety. He's versatile. But they bring
- 6:06Speaker 4: some guys in and he kind of gets lost in
- 6:08Speaker 4: the mix a little bit. So I think he's been
- 6:10Speaker 4: chomping at the bit. This is a hiss opportunity. The
- 6:12Speaker 4: thing I like about Kobe is just what I mentioned.
- 6:14Speaker 4: He's played everywhere in that secondary. McDonald's not gonna say
- 6:18Speaker 4: something that's gonna confuse him.
- 6:19Speaker 3: He should be ready to go.
- 6:21Speaker 4: And then Wallace he's been around too, So it just
- 6:23Speaker 4: creates opportunity. Man, I'm gonna be looking at special teams. Man,
- 6:26Speaker 4: I want to see Okata. I want to see young
- 6:29Speaker 4: o'cada out there, get some play man.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Big Sky love out there. So Ty, all right, let's
- 6:33Speaker 2: get back into these Falcons. What's on tap?
- 6:38Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Atlanta Falcons four into first place in the NFC South
- 6:44Speaker 2: with losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 6:46Speaker 2: but wins over the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, Tampa
- 6:50Speaker 2: Bay Buccaneers, and the Carolina Panthers. But these guys are
- 6:53Speaker 2: playing some really good football. Winners of the last three games.
- 6:56Speaker 2: The Pathers are down bad right now. I'm not gonna
- 6:58Speaker 2: lie to you, So take that is however you want
- 7:02Speaker 2: to take it. But guess what, they're an NFL team.
- 7:04Speaker 2: They handle business, did what they're supposed to do. Kirk
- 7:06Speaker 2: Cousins is now the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons,
- 7:08Speaker 2: So they're doing some good things.
- 7:10Speaker 3: So bump, they're a lot better I think than people think.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yeah, And the thing about that for me is stability
- 7:16Speaker 2: right at quarterback the last couple of years. Who's been there.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's been Marcus Mariota, it's been Desender.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 2: So Kirk who people probably feel a certain type way
- 7:26Speaker 2: about him. In Minnesota, he was up and down right.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I think he's a good quarterback. He obviously got paid
- 7:30Speaker 2: all that money. Now he's in Atlanta, and I think
- 7:33Speaker 2: he's really helped them stability. And we're gonna talk about
- 7:35Speaker 2: all their playmakers that they have and holime, he's kind
- 7:38Speaker 2: of helped them Last week against the Panthers, I mean
- 7:41Speaker 2: Bijon Robinson Algier story of the game. They ran for
- 7:44Speaker 2: like two hundred yards together. The game was competitive, it
- 7:48Speaker 2: was a five point game, but then the Falcons would
- 7:50Speaker 2: alsogere the Panther sixteen to three and the second half
- 7:52Speaker 2: en route to the thirty eight to twenty win, and
- 7:53Speaker 2: a lot of that was because of turnovers. Two turnovers
- 7:56Speaker 2: by the Panthers and a turnover on downs. Kirk Cousins
- 7:58Speaker 2: finished the day nineteen to thirty two, twenty five, one touchdown,
- 8:01Speaker 2: Algie and Robinson, Like I said, one hundred ninety yards rushing.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Drake London six receptions seventy four yards in a tud
- 8:07Speaker 2: Kyle Pitts three receptions in seventy yards. So despite who
- 8:11Speaker 2: they just played about, their playing some good football. Yeah, man,
- 8:13Speaker 2: and they got weapons too.
- 8:14Speaker 4: You know, we're gonna talk about their defense and the
- 8:16Speaker 4: struggles that they've had on defense, but offensively, this is
- 8:19Speaker 4: why you're bringing Kirk Cousins in to help Drake London
- 8:22Speaker 4: take the next step. Who's doing great this year Kyle Pitts,
- 8:25Speaker 4: and you have two great running backs in the backfield.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Kyle Pitts is like the weirdest tight end in football.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Now, are you.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Really a tight end, Kyle Pitts. I mean they'll line
- 8:33Speaker 4: you up there and you'll look like a tight end,
- 8:34Speaker 4: but your body type says I'm not blocking nobody on
- 8:36Speaker 4: this line, but you're finding ways to get these guys
- 8:39Speaker 4: the ball. Kirk Cousins is in the He's the perfect
- 8:42Speaker 4: quarterback for their situation because you just drafted Michael Pennings.
- 8:45Speaker 3: We know all know who that is.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Pennis is sitting there learning and they're winning ball games
- 8:49Speaker 4: at the same time. When you have a game where
- 8:51Speaker 4: you throw over five hundred yards, man, you're doing something right.
- 8:54Speaker 3: So offensively, you can't sleep on these dudes, not at all.
- 8:58Speaker 3: And when we look at this head that had a
- 8:59Speaker 3: good segue here.
- 9:00Speaker 2: The Falcons eighth best pass offense in the off total
- 9:04Speaker 2: offense in National Football League, averaging three hundred and sixty
- 9:06Speaker 2: eight yards per game twenty first in run offense one
- 9:09Speaker 2: hundred and thirteen yards per game, six in passing offense
- 9:12Speaker 2: two fifty four, and eleventh in points per game at
- 9:14Speaker 2: twenty four.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Flip it over to the Seahawks.
- 9:16Speaker 2: They are just ahead of them in total offense seventh
- 9:19Speaker 2: averaging three hundred and seventy three yards per game twenty ninth,
- 9:22Speaker 2: which hurts in rush offense in ninety six and a half.
- 9:26Speaker 2: First in pass offense in the National Football League at
- 9:28Speaker 2: two seventy six per game and they are thirteenth in
- 9:30Speaker 2: points per game at twenty four point three.
- 9:33Speaker 3: So these teams are pretty close.
- 9:34Speaker 2: They both can throw the paill right now, and they're
- 9:35Speaker 2: both kind of struggling to run the rock. The Falcons
- 9:38Speaker 2: obviously have two really talented backs we're going to talk about.
- 9:41Speaker 2: They did really well last week, but it was only
- 9:43Speaker 2: their second game rushing for more than one hundred yards
- 9:45Speaker 2: of a team. So the Seahawks and the Falcons actually
- 9:47Speaker 2: stack up pretty well when it comes offense.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's scary how similar they are on offense
- 9:52Speaker 4: and on defense you can say the same thing. Total defense,
- 9:55Speaker 4: the Hawks are nineteenth, the Falcons are seventeenth. Run defense,
- 9:58Speaker 4: the Hawks are twenty seventh, the Falcons are twenty fifth,
- 10:00Speaker 4: pass defense the Hawks are tenth, the Falcons are ninth,
- 10:04Speaker 4: and points allowed the Hawks are twenty fifth and the
- 10:07Speaker 4: Falcons are fifteen. Not only are they similar when it
- 10:10Speaker 4: comes to stats, and they're both birds, Seahawks versus Falcons
- 10:13Speaker 4: is a bird gag game. So now the Falcons have
- 10:15Speaker 4: five interceptions, they also have only sacked the quarterback five times.
- 10:20Speaker 4: So if there's anything wow right, some tells me interceptions
- 10:24Speaker 4: are a lot harder to get than sacks for some reason, you.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Know what I'm saying.
- 10:27Speaker 4: So the fact that it's five and five is crazy
- 10:28Speaker 4: to me. We'll talk about some of these matchups, but
- 10:31Speaker 4: that's where you have the edge on these guys.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Man, you gotta be able to protect that quarterback, no
- 10:36Speaker 3: question about it. Man, five sacks, that's that's rough. Man.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Hey, listen, I love to see it because whether Seahawks
- 10:42Speaker 2: have been going up against recently, when we talked about
- 10:44Speaker 2: Adon Hutchinson, when you're talking about Nick Bosa and talking
- 10:47Speaker 2: about Thibodeau and Lawrence, Yeah, I think Gino and the
- 10:51Speaker 2: wrestling boys are loving that. Let's flip it over to
- 10:55Speaker 2: these teams, Michael Bama said at the Bird game. They've
- 10:57Speaker 2: played a lot recently, and let's know the history, no
- 11:01Speaker 2: your history, or at least over the course of time.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Seahawks lead the all time series twelve to nine. Falcons
- 11:08Speaker 2: had the advantage in the postseason with the two and
- 11:10Speaker 2: oh record.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Last meeting.
- 11:11Speaker 2: The Seahawks fell at home to the Falcons twenty seven
- 11:13Speaker 2: and twenty three and twenty twenty two. This was a
- 11:16Speaker 2: tight game and I remember when it happened again because
- 11:18Speaker 2: twenty twenty two We really didn't know what to think
- 11:20Speaker 2: about the Seahawks teams. They're kind of figuring out. That
- 11:22Speaker 2: was a game I really felt they should have won.
- 11:24Speaker 2: In the first half of that game, the Seahawks scored
- 11:26Speaker 2: on four of their first five possessions, including touchdown passes
- 11:29Speaker 2: from Gino Smith to Will Disley and DK Metcalf. Falcons
- 11:32Speaker 2: also scored on three of their five possessions, with both
- 11:34Speaker 2: teams going to the locker room Seahawks up three. However,
- 11:37Speaker 2: Seahawks had only three possessions in the second half, resulting
- 11:40Speaker 2: in just three points.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Three possessions. Yes, goodness gracious, what happened was turned that
- 11:45Speaker 4: ball over then?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Huh?
- 11:46Speaker 3: I don't remember that.
- 11:46Speaker 2: No, it was just the Falcons were just possessed running
- 11:49Speaker 2: the ball too. I think pat Devil Patterson had a
- 11:51Speaker 2: career high. Yeah, he kind of stole the show for them. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 2: one hundred and forty one yards on seventeen carries. But
- 11:58Speaker 2: it came down towards the end. The Seahawks with force
- 12:00Speaker 2: the phone will get the ball back down four. Late
- 12:02Speaker 2: in the game, they were driving the Falcon serratory, but
- 12:04Speaker 2: on a third and eight Gino got sacked. Then it
- 12:05Speaker 2: was fourth and eighteen, he had to throw up a
- 12:07Speaker 2: desperation pass got intercepted. He finished that day gino thirty
- 12:11Speaker 2: two of forty four three twenty five, two tuds, one pick.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Lockett led receivers with nine receptions seventy six yards. So
- 12:18Speaker 2: that game, I remember was started by Marcus Mariota. They
- 12:20Speaker 2: were kind of it started well from that season and
- 12:24Speaker 2: then it completely unraveled. Obviously, they move on from their
- 12:26Speaker 2: coach and a kind of wholly different realm than they
- 12:29Speaker 2: were then. So it'll be interesting to see how these
- 12:31Speaker 2: two teams match up. But a very very important game
- 12:34Speaker 2: for both teams. But let's check in on what happened
- 12:36Speaker 2: within the division.
- 12:37Speaker 3: What's the word.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Side now the Seahawks or the NFC West champs?
- 12:46Speaker 3: Again, what's the word in the West? On?
- 12:49Speaker 5: HOWK talk?
- 12:51Speaker 4: All?
- 12:51Speaker 1: Right? Man?
- 12:51Speaker 4: The Hawks are no longer in first place all alone
- 12:53Speaker 4: in the NFC West. They are tied with the forty nineers,
- 12:56Speaker 4: and technically the forty nine ers are in first because
- 12:58Speaker 4: they have the tiebreakers. The Niners three and three, Seahawks
- 13:01Speaker 4: three and three, the Cardinals are two and four in
- 13:04Speaker 4: the Rams are one and four. Let's look at the
- 13:07Speaker 4: Cardinals against the Packers. The Cardinals are still a tough
- 13:10Speaker 4: team to try to figure out.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Man.
- 13:13Speaker 4: After a huge rows win in San Francisco, they followed
- 13:16Speaker 4: that up with a sloppy performance against the Packers. The
- 13:19Speaker 4: Packers jump out to a twenty four old lead in
- 13:21Speaker 4: the first half, and the Cardinals were just playing catch
- 13:23Speaker 4: up from that point. They tried to make it interesting
- 13:25Speaker 4: by scoring on the next thirteen points, but a twenty
- 13:28Speaker 4: yard touchdown of Romeo Dobbs late in the third quarter
- 13:31Speaker 4: put the game out of reach.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Packers got it done thirty four to thirteen.
- 13:35Speaker 4: The Cardinals turned the ball over three times were penalized
- 13:37Speaker 4: thirteen times for one hundred yards. Hate to see it.
- 13:41Speaker 4: That was the main difference in the game for the Packers.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Jordan love Man Jordan love Man twenty two or thirty
- 13:48Speaker 4: two for four touchdowns. I think he has like four
- 13:49Speaker 4: touchdowns in twelve games or something like that. One interception.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Romeo Dobbs had three receptions for forty nine yards and
- 13:55Speaker 4: two touchdowns to his first game back after being suspended.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Because my man just decided not to come to practice
- 14:01Speaker 4: practice important. It is important. You just didn't hear the alarm,
- 14:04Speaker 4: Like what happened? You sleep in what's going on? Robo
- 14:09Speaker 4: Kyler Murray had an average day. He was twenty two
- 14:11Speaker 4: or thirty two for two fourteen to one touchdown, just
- 14:13Speaker 4: fourteen yards rushing. Trey McBride let all receivers with eight
- 14:16Speaker 4: receptions for ninety six yards.
- 14:18Speaker 3: That's a tight end for you.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Adding insult to injury, the Cardinal star rookie receiver Marvin
- 14:23Speaker 4: Harrison left the game with a concussion in the second quarter.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Once again, I still have no idea who this Cardinal
- 14:30Speaker 4: team is. How are they getting it done? You beat
- 14:32Speaker 4: the Niners, you lose to the Packerskler Murray rushes for
- 14:36Speaker 4: a few touchdowns, only fourteen yards one week.
- 14:38Speaker 3: They're just they're consistently inconsistent.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And the thing that's frustrating about that is, you know
- 14:45Speaker 2: when the season started, we weren't really sure and you
- 14:47Speaker 2: look at them and you can say, maybe, oh, those
- 14:48Speaker 2: are probably two wins for the Seahawks, and you still
- 14:50Speaker 2: hope that, but you just don't know what team's gonna
- 14:52Speaker 2: show up now. Obviously they just showed they beat the
- 14:54Speaker 2: Niners at Santa Clara at Levi Stadium, so they're still
- 14:57Speaker 2: a good football team.
- 14:58Speaker 3: But every week you just don't know.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Man.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Mmmm, that's a young football team right there, So we'll see.
- 15:02Speaker 2: But let's flip our attitude back to these Atlanta Falcons.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Man up, man, man up on Hawk Talk.
- 15:17Speaker 2: We've talked about him a lot already, Kirk Cousins taking
- 15:20Speaker 2: on this seak defense, bump and and Kirk has been
- 15:22Speaker 2: around the block, yes, several times. And I can't believe
- 15:25Speaker 2: how long he's played. This is thirteenth NFL season.
- 15:28Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Spent the first six seasons with the Commanders, in the
- 15:31Speaker 2: next six season with the Vikings, and Kirk he's definitely
- 15:36Speaker 2: not thought of. I don't think is an all time great.
- 15:38Speaker 2: But when you look at the numbers, Cousins is twenty
- 15:40Speaker 2: first all time in career passing yards in NFL history
- 15:43Speaker 2: with forty one thousand, sixty nine yards. Only four active
- 15:47Speaker 2: quarterbacks have more, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Safford, Joe Flacco, and
- 15:50Speaker 2: Russell Wilson.
- 15:51Speaker 4: How many Hall of famers Aaron Rodgers? Check is Matthew Stafford?
- 15:54Speaker 4: He got still thinks Super Bowl?
- 15:56Speaker 3: I think check Hey, Russell Russell talk to me at
- 16:00Speaker 3: three the end of this year. Yeah, he got an
- 16:01Speaker 3: opportunity this weekend.
- 16:03Speaker 2: He had a Hall of Fame resume in Seattle, yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 2: without question. Yeah, but what happened in Denver is just
- 16:07Speaker 2: kind of muddy the waters a little bit, and we'll
- 16:09Speaker 2: see he falls in his court.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Joe Flacco, I don't know. He got a Super Bowl.
- 16:14Speaker 3: He does, but I don't know, man, I gotta look.
- 16:17Speaker 4: At his numbers because you got to have some style
- 16:19Speaker 4: points to be a Hall of Famer too.
- 16:21Speaker 2: He's up there, I mean forever, I don't know, for
- 16:22Speaker 2: a decade. We asked the question, is Joe Flacco elite?
- 16:25Speaker 2: That was like the funny sports radio question, And I
- 16:27Speaker 2: don't know, man, he has numbers. It's just when I
- 16:30Speaker 2: look at Stafford, it's kind of like, Okay, the way
- 16:32Speaker 2: he played the game and his numbers, it just feels different.
- 16:34Speaker 4: It feels different. Even though Joe Flacco got the Colts
- 16:37Speaker 4: over there winning games right.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Now, Hey, he's been He helped out the Browns last year.
- 16:40Speaker 3: He's been helped out the Jets for a little bit.
- 16:42Speaker 2: So anyway, going back to Kirk Cousins, four time Pro bowler,
- 16:45Speaker 2: most recent coming in twenty twenty two, he's been really
- 16:48Speaker 2: durable throughout his career too, and from twenty fifteen to
- 16:50Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, he started one hundred and thirty six
- 16:52Speaker 2: straight regular season games. I call it one thirty six
- 16:55Speaker 2: straight because technically won in there he did not start,
- 16:57Speaker 2: but they were arresting their starters. But all that came
- 17:00Speaker 2: to an end last year when he tore his achilles
- 17:02Speaker 2: with the Vikings. That didn't stop the thirty six year
- 17:05Speaker 2: old from getting paid four years, one hundred and eighty
- 17:08Speaker 2: million dollar contract this offseason.
- 17:10Speaker 3: That was after he got paid with the Vikings. All
- 17:12Speaker 3: that his guaranteed contract stuff is him.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Sure it did, his fall, sure did. So that didn't
- 17:18Speaker 2: stop him obviously. So he comes out, you know, after
- 17:20Speaker 2: the injury, and it's still been pretty good for him.
- 17:22Speaker 2: He's got the Falcons off to four and two start,
- 17:24Speaker 2: fourth most passing yards in the National Football League so far.
- 17:27Speaker 2: In Week five, he threw fifty eight times for a
- 17:29Speaker 2: franchise record five hundred nine yards and a thirty six
- 17:32Speaker 2: or thirty victory over the Buccaneers. So far this year,
- 17:35Speaker 2: he's one thirty eight two O seven one thousand, five
- 17:38Speaker 2: hundred and ninety eight yards, nine touchdowns, five interceptions. So
- 17:42Speaker 2: but you know, we talked about it prior to Cousins
- 17:44Speaker 2: coming in there. It was Ritter and Mariota really unstable.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Since Matt Ryan left out Seahawks. On the other side,
- 17:50Speaker 2: they have dropped to nineteenth in total defense, lying three
- 17:52Speaker 2: hundred and thirty nine yards per game. Hawks are tents
- 17:55Speaker 2: against the pass, allowing one hundred ninety five yards per game.
- 17:58Speaker 2: So it'll it'll be interesting here, another work cut out
- 18:00Speaker 2: for him. The nice thing about Kirk He's not going
- 18:02Speaker 2: to be making plays like Rock Party did, at least
- 18:04Speaker 2: with his legs nah, So if that front seven can
- 18:06Speaker 2: really get after him, it'll be important.
- 18:09Speaker 4: He want to operate from the pocket. He don't have
- 18:11Speaker 4: that twitch. Paul Moyer call it that the Larry Bird
- 18:14Speaker 4: first step. That's what Rock Party had, And it's crazy
- 18:16Speaker 4: because I'm like, yeah, yeah, okay Moyer. But then, like
- 18:19Speaker 4: the first couple series, you see that Larry Bow first step.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I was like, Party, I don't hate you, I just
- 18:24Speaker 4: dislike you, all right, Geno Smith, it's the Falcons defense.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Geno Man tough game. Worst game of the season for sure.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Man.
- 18:33Speaker 4: It was the first time all season one of his
- 18:34Speaker 4: interceptions was mostly his fall.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:37Speaker 4: We can make a case for all the other ones,
- 18:39Speaker 4: but that one was on him him won to locket. Yes, yes,
- 18:44Speaker 4: DK stepped up to the podium and said, look, there
- 18:46Speaker 4: was a miscommunication area. He drifted his route on that
- 18:48Speaker 4: second interception. DK owned it great accountability. That first one
- 18:53Speaker 4: was definitely on our guy Geno. He was thirty of
- 18:56Speaker 4: fifty two three hundred and twelve yards one touchdown in
- 18:59Speaker 4: two interception against the forty nine ers. It was also
- 19:02Speaker 4: the first time Gino did not complete sixty five percent
- 19:04Speaker 4: of his passes three of his five prior games, Gino
- 19:07Speaker 4: was over seventy percent. During the three game losing streak,
- 19:10Speaker 4: Gino has been under a lot of pressure. Nick Bosa
- 19:14Speaker 4: alone generated fourteen pressures last week. The Giants defense pressure
- 19:18Speaker 4: Gino thirty five percent of the snaps with seven sacks.
- 19:23Speaker 3: It's hard to operate on the stress. Yeah, it's hard
- 19:25Speaker 3: operating pressure.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Like he can make up for some of that, but
- 19:29Speaker 4: as consistent as the pressure has been getting to him
- 19:31Speaker 4: the last couple of weeks, I mean, you gotta be
- 19:32Speaker 4: realistic about what he's going to be able to do.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Of course, and then the last one bump Aiden Hunderson
- 19:37Speaker 2: ten pressures alone.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Yeah, come on, man, Aiden, big ups man. That injury
- 19:41Speaker 4: last week was brutal friendly fire too.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Man, that's the worst.
- 19:45Speaker 4: It's like, you know you're gonna get hurt eventually in football,
- 19:47Speaker 4: it's gonna happen. But for him to be having the
- 19:50Speaker 4: year he was having, leading the league in sacks, second
- 19:52Speaker 4: or well second year in the league, third, third year
- 19:54Speaker 4: in the league, and then just to have his leg
- 19:57Speaker 4: just whipping around and hit his homie like in the
- 19:59Speaker 4: knee or the or something like that, snap that leg.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Some UFC stuff like you see it in UFC, but
- 20:04Speaker 2: just like that, Oh godly, And when they start saying
- 20:07Speaker 2: stuff on the broadcast like hey, we're not we're go
- 20:09Speaker 2: ahead and not children.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Because I didn't realize, like when it happened in real time,
- 20:13Speaker 4: I'm thinking, what the heck happened? But then when I
- 20:14Speaker 4: heard that, I go, yeah, it ain't good for my guy. Man,
- 20:17Speaker 4: So big ups, man, big ups. But through six weeks,
- 20:21Speaker 4: Gino's been playing Okay, oh for all I know, you're
- 20:23Speaker 4: looking at the last week and people want to, you know,
- 20:25Speaker 4: talk about that. But overall, and Gino is first in
- 20:28Speaker 4: passion passing yards, he is eighth in completion percentage, first
- 20:32Speaker 4: in completions, first in attempts, and thirteenth.
- 20:34Speaker 3: When it comes to q p R, he's going up against,
- 20:36Speaker 3: like we.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Mentioned, the seventeenth overall defense, the Hawks are see me,
- 20:40Speaker 4: Falcons are allowing three hundred and thirty five yards per
- 20:43Speaker 4: game in ninth against the past, they are allowing one
- 20:46Speaker 4: ninety three.
- 20:47Speaker 3: So they got to get secondary back there.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they do, and we'll see how their health wise
- 20:52Speaker 2: goes because Justin Simmons a guy who has been dealing
- 20:54Speaker 2: with an injury, and if another one of their safeties
- 20:56Speaker 2: on ir but Gino, we know what Gina can do.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Gino is an elite quarterback in this league. I will
- 21:02Speaker 2: stand on that because which he played that way and
- 21:04Speaker 2: he's played through some pressures, so he's allowed to have
- 21:07Speaker 2: a game or he's not at an unbelievable level. And
- 21:10Speaker 2: that being said, he wasn't horrible. His numbers look a
- 21:13Speaker 2: lot different if there isn't a procedure pedal. Now there's
- 21:15Speaker 2: a forty to fifty yard pass DeCamp. Anyway, I don't
- 21:18Speaker 2: need to get on here and get on my pedestal
- 21:20Speaker 2: about how I feel about Gino Smith. It's clear and
- 21:22Speaker 2: the evidence is in the tape. So we'll see how
- 21:24Speaker 2: he responds against the Falcons. Now on the flip side,
- 21:27Speaker 2: we're to talk some running backs. The Seahawks have struggled there.
- 21:30Speaker 2: We're looking at Bjehn Robinson and Tyler Allgier against Seahawks
- 21:33Speaker 2: front seven, and they're going to face another good duo.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Those two are are pretty good, man, They're pretty especially
- 21:39Speaker 2: be John Robinson, man first round pick out of Texas
- 21:42Speaker 2: dual threat running back, got to a great starting rookie campaign.
- 21:45Speaker 2: He led the team in rushing and was fourth in receiving.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Dual threat last year he had nine hundred and seventy
- 21:51Speaker 2: six yards four touchdowns and then he also had fifty
- 21:53Speaker 2: eight reception for one hundred and eighty seven yards and
- 21:56Speaker 2: four touchdowns, and those numbers got him selected to the
- 21:58Speaker 2: All Rookie team last year. So far this year picked
- 22:01Speaker 2: up where he left off eighty two carries three hundred
- 22:03Speaker 2: and eighty yards, twenty one receptions for one hundred and
- 22:06Speaker 2: sixty one yards. So he is definitely that dual threat
- 22:08Speaker 2: will kill you both ways. He is a hell of
- 22:09Speaker 2: an athlete. His teammate, Tyler als Year, has also had
- 22:12Speaker 2: a really nice start today's career. He rushed for a
- 22:14Speaker 2: team leading one thousand yards in the twenty twenty two season,
- 22:16Speaker 2: added another six eighty three Last year twenty twenty four,
- 22:20Speaker 2: He's got two hundred and eighty three yards on fifty
- 22:21Speaker 2: one carries, five point five yards per carry in one touchdown.
- 22:25Speaker 2: This duo was on full diest play last week, obviously
- 22:27Speaker 2: second time though Atlanta's went over one hundred yards rushing.
- 22:30Speaker 2: The other game was against the Eagles that had one
- 22:32Speaker 2: hundred and fifty two yards rushing. And here's the other
- 22:35Speaker 2: thing too, Bump Kirk Cousins, I was kind of going
- 22:37Speaker 2: through some stuff on their side. He told the ROC like,
- 22:39Speaker 2: what do you want to do this week? He's like,
- 22:40Speaker 2: I want to run it And he said We're gonna
- 22:42Speaker 2: run it till they stop it. And the Panthers didn't
- 22:45Speaker 2: stop it. And I'm sure that's going to be a
- 22:47Speaker 2: part of the game plan this week given the Seahawks
- 22:49Speaker 2: struggles in the run game, their twenty seventh overall allowing
- 22:52Speaker 2: one hundred and forty four yards per game. The last
- 22:54Speaker 2: two weeks, the Seahawks have allowed one hundred and seventy
- 22:56Speaker 2: one hundred and seventy five yards rushing to the Giants
- 22:59Speaker 2: in two twenty eight to the forty nine ers, but
- 23:01Speaker 2: but but let me say this. Here's why I have confidence.
- 23:05Speaker 2: This coaching staff has had entire weekend off. Guys, get
- 23:09Speaker 2: out of the building. We're getting some guys back healthy.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I promise you, I'll go out and pedestal and say, Okay,
- 23:14Speaker 2: this run defense is going to be a lot more improved.
- 23:17Speaker 2: The Sea are gonna have their first full week, but
- 23:20Speaker 2: they haven't had a good full week of practice. Haven't
- 23:22Speaker 2: been able to put on the pads since before the
- 23:24Speaker 2: Detroit game. They played three games in eleven days. I
- 23:26Speaker 2: know it's the NFL blah blah blah, but this is
- 23:28Speaker 2: the first week they're getting back to normal, another week
- 23:31Speaker 2: where they could really self scout and tell the truth.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Everyone's kind of talked about a DK talked about that
- 23:35Speaker 2: meeting on Monday where every kind of told the truth
- 23:37Speaker 2: forgu out what's going on. I promise you we're going
- 23:39Speaker 2: to see a much improved effort this Sunday. And I
- 23:43Speaker 2: can't wait to circle back to this on Monday. And
- 23:46Speaker 2: if it's not, then the intensity now I'm gonna stand
- 23:52Speaker 2: on it.
- 23:52Speaker 3: But I am so confident.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Okay, y'all heard it here, man, It's going down. All right,
- 23:58Speaker 4: Let's look at their receivers. Man, they got a cool
- 24:01Speaker 4: trio over there. Well, I would say two receivers in
- 24:03Speaker 4: a tight end slash receiver and got Drake London, Darnell Mooney,
- 24:06Speaker 4: got Kyle Pitts. The leader of this group is Drake London. Man,
- 24:09Speaker 4: he's he's becoming a start in this league. He was
- 24:12Speaker 4: a first round pick out of USC in twenty twenty two.
- 24:15Speaker 4: He hasn't been putting up crazy numbers, but you kind
- 24:18Speaker 4: of see the progression that's going on with London.
- 24:21Speaker 3: He's been the most targeted receiver on the Falcons.
- 24:23Speaker 4: In twenty twenty two, he was targeted one hundred and
- 24:25Speaker 4: seventeen times and one hundred and ten times last year.
- 24:30Speaker 3: He hasn't had consistent quarterbacks. It's hard to be on some.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Chemistry when you got rid of you have Mariota over there.
- 24:36Speaker 4: But he's finally found this guy, and I think Kirk
- 24:39Speaker 4: Cutbin's gonna be there for a couple of years. This
- 24:41Speaker 4: year he has thirty eight receptions for four hundred and
- 24:43Speaker 4: twenty eight yards and four touchdowns. Really liked him out
- 24:46Speaker 4: of SC two sport athlete also hoops. Other guy got
- 24:49Speaker 4: Darnelle Mooney. He spent four years with Chicago. He had
- 24:52Speaker 4: his breakout season in twenty twenty one, where he had
- 24:54Speaker 4: his only one thousand yard season. He's another guy who
- 24:58Speaker 4: has suffered from four poor quarterback play and miss rookie season.
- 25:01Speaker 3: He had mis Trubisky. No, I ain't hating, but it's
- 25:04Speaker 3: mich Trubisky.
- 25:05Speaker 4: And then he had a young justin fields behind a
- 25:08Speaker 4: rough offensive line.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Mooney's off two A get started in twenty twenty four.
- 25:11Speaker 4: It's got twenty seven receptions, three hundred and sixty eight
- 25:14Speaker 4: yards and three touchdowns. Lastly, the fourth overall pick out
- 25:17Speaker 4: of Floida in twenty twenty one, we're talking about tight
- 25:21Speaker 4: end Kyle Pitts pits out. He's had an interesting start
- 25:24Speaker 4: to his career, one that has huge expectations considering where
- 25:27Speaker 4: he was drafted.
- 25:27Speaker 3: You drafted number four. People want you to do something.
- 25:30Speaker 4: In this rookie season, he had sixty eight receptions oney
- 25:33Speaker 4: twenty six yards in one touchdown. He was voted to
- 25:35Speaker 4: the Pro Bowl and selected to the twenty twenty one
- 25:38Speaker 4: All Rookie Team. Its production dropped off after that. In
- 25:42Speaker 4: twenty two, his season was ended after ten games. He
- 25:44Speaker 4: had an MCL surgery. He appeared in all seventeen games
- 25:47Speaker 4: last season, but only had fifty three receptions for six
- 25:49Speaker 4: hundred and sixty seven yards. They're high on this guy
- 25:54Speaker 4: this year. So far this year, eighteen receptions, twenty sixty
- 25:57Speaker 4: three yards in one touchdown.
- 25:58Speaker 3: He's just versatile. I kind of post fun out him.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Is he a tight end? Is a receiver, but he's
- 26:02Speaker 3: a tight end with receiver capabilities?
- 26:04Speaker 4: Right, you can line him up on the line of scrimmage,
- 26:07Speaker 4: get one on ones with those safeties. If you want
- 26:08Speaker 4: to go big, move him to the outside. He is
- 26:11Speaker 4: what will bring some versatility to the past game when
- 26:14Speaker 4: it comes to the Falcons.
- 26:16Speaker 2: You know what, not exactly in how they play, but
- 26:19Speaker 2: how he's categories. Right, it made me think deep pull here,
- 26:22Speaker 2: bump Marcus Colston.
- 26:23Speaker 3: You remember Mary the Saints. I remember.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I don't play fantasy football anymore, but when I did,
- 26:28Speaker 2: he was like a cheat because I'm like, hold on,
- 26:29Speaker 2: he's a tight end, but you can line up at
- 26:31Speaker 2: the flag was the whole thing. But like he I
- 26:34Speaker 2: think with him, the expectations are were so high. Anytime
- 26:36Speaker 2: you're drafting the top five, it's gonna.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Be especially as a receiver. That's crazy.
- 26:40Speaker 2: But he's talented, the dude can play, so it'll it'll
- 26:43Speaker 2: definitely be a matchup for the Seahawks tenth in the NFL.
- 26:46Speaker 2: And it comes to passing defense, Now, bump DK, Tyler
- 26:51Speaker 2: jays sound, let's get back to our receivers his Falcons secondary.
- 26:54Speaker 2: While Gino Smith leads the league in passing yards, attempts, completions,
- 26:58Speaker 2: the receiving corps has been a quiet as a late
- 27:00Speaker 2: in terms of numbers. Last two weeks, no receivers had
- 27:03Speaker 2: more than seventy five yards or eight receptions. Prior to
- 27:06Speaker 2: the Giants game, dkm Metcalf set records in franchise history
- 27:09Speaker 2: with those three one hundred yard games in a row. Now,
- 27:12Speaker 2: to be fair, DK would have gone over one hundred.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I know you can't play this game, but if Walker's
- 27:17Speaker 2: feed are set and the ball snap, that's to your touchdown,
- 27:19Speaker 2: He's over one hundred yards.
- 27:20Speaker 3: And we're looking a little bit differently when it comes
- 27:22Speaker 3: to the numbers.
- 27:23Speaker 2: But there's definitely plays he wished he could make, could
- 27:25Speaker 2: have made in that last game. But we know how
- 27:28Speaker 2: talented this group is, right DK on the season four
- 27:31Speaker 2: hundred and sixty nine yards, two touchdowns. Lockett three hundred
- 27:33Speaker 2: and thirty nine yards one touchdown, JSN three hundred and
- 27:36Speaker 2: ten yards one touchdown.
- 27:38Speaker 3: We know where they can be and what they have
- 27:40Speaker 3: been able to do.
- 27:40Speaker 2: And if the Seahawks, which I think is gonna happen,
- 27:43Speaker 2: can protect a little bit better this week, I would
- 27:44Speaker 2: expect these three to come off and have a much
- 27:46Speaker 2: better game. Falcons secondary is led by All Pro safety
- 27:50Speaker 2: Justin Simmons, who is in his first season with the Falcons.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Also features other first round picks Mike Hubes and aj Terrell.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Falcons are ninth against the pass, sell one hundred and
- 27:58Speaker 2: ninety three yards per game. We'll see if Simmons is
- 28:00Speaker 2: gonna make it out there this week. I know he's
- 28:02Speaker 2: battling an injury, so this will be a matchup. I
- 28:04Speaker 2: really hope the Skaws can exploit and get back to
- 28:06Speaker 2: what we saw a lot, whether it's that Patriots.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Game or against the Lions. Scheme up a little bit.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Yeah, Atlanta has a good pass defense with ninth in
- 28:14Speaker 4: the league, I think is what we said. But this
- 28:15Speaker 4: is the strength of the Seahawks right now is throwing
- 28:17Speaker 4: the football and these three receivers, so they gotta leave
- 28:21Speaker 4: the charge.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Yes, run the football, run, the football. Get Kin Walker
- 28:24Speaker 3: the ball.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Let's talk about the Seahawks running backs against the Falcons
- 28:28Speaker 4: front seven. They gotta get this thing going, man, Yeah, yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 4: get it going. I don't know what you gotta do.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Double team? Who we got a double team? Get to
- 28:37Speaker 4: those linebackers. But the last two weeks have been a struggle.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Against the Giants, kin Walker and Zach Sharpeney combined for
- 28:42Speaker 4: just thirty yards but only seven carriages.
- 28:45Speaker 3: You get down by a few scores, you gotta throw
- 28:47Speaker 3: the football.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Against the Niners, the Seahawks definitely tried to run the ball,
- 28:50Speaker 4: but didn't find much success.
- 28:52Speaker 3: They ran it twenty times for fifty two.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Walker had fourteen carriage for thirty two yards in one touchdown.
- 28:57Speaker 4: The Seahawks are also looking for their first one hundred
- 29:00Speaker 4: rusher since Week one against the Broncos. Ken Walker got
- 29:03Speaker 4: that done. On the year, Walker has two hundred and
- 29:05Speaker 4: thirty four yards and five touchdowns. Charba Name has one
- 29:08Speaker 4: hundred and eighty seven yards and three touchdowns. Man, let's
- 29:12Speaker 4: get right. The Falcons are twenty fifth against the run.
- 29:14Speaker 4: They allow a buck forty two a game. This could
- 29:17Speaker 4: be it. Man be stubborn early, but you know if
- 29:21Speaker 4: the run can't get going, and things changed and you
- 29:23Speaker 4: have to adapt your play calling. But I'm sure Grub
- 29:26Speaker 4: has been in the lab trying to figure out how
- 29:29Speaker 4: to get these dudes going.
- 29:30Speaker 3: No question about it.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard to win football games and to call
- 29:35Speaker 2: the game you want to call and do all the
- 29:36Speaker 2: things you want to do if you can't run the
- 29:37Speaker 2: football right. We know this about Ryan Grubb. We know
- 29:39Speaker 2: this is about coach McDonald. We know about this team.
- 29:41Speaker 2: They want to run the ball. They haven't been able to.
- 29:43Speaker 2: But I'm excited to see if they can get that
- 29:45Speaker 2: going against the Falcons and get right.
- 29:47Speaker 3: But let's tell the people bump how they're going. Yet
- 29:49Speaker 3: it done. Path to victory.
- 29:53Speaker 1: After forty five waits for the snat, Michael Vickton puts
- 29:56Speaker 1: it down.
- 29:57Speaker 3: That kick is away. If that kick is good, day off.
- 30:01Speaker 1: When it's gun, it's a pass to victory.
- 30:04Speaker 2: On Hawk Talk, Hawks need to get back in the win,
- 30:06Speaker 2: call a bump, find a way. Don't want to have
- 30:08Speaker 2: another four game losing streak. It's been a while, but
- 30:11Speaker 2: as much as it seems like the sky's falling, I said,
- 30:13Speaker 2: this is the beginning. The Seahawks have had an opportunity
- 30:16Speaker 2: to win. The last three games, they have been within
- 30:18Speaker 2: one score in the fourth quarter of each of those games. Yeah,
- 30:21Speaker 2: so ah, they're not playing their best football. They're not
- 30:23Speaker 2: as far off as the teams bump and.
- 30:25Speaker 3: They got some rest.
- 30:26Speaker 4: When you play three games in eleven days, that body's
- 30:28Speaker 4: gonna hurt, the mental is gonna be tired, gonna be fatigued,
- 30:31Speaker 4: and all that stuff. It's not an excuse, that's just
- 30:34Speaker 4: exactly what it is. But in order to get back
- 30:37Speaker 4: in the win calling, the Seahawks have to stop the run.
- 30:40Speaker 4: We talked about Bejon Robinson, we talked about all the year.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Algier is like the probably the sneakeest one two punch
- 30:47Speaker 4: out there. He rushed for a thousand yards last year
- 30:50Speaker 4: and nobody's really talking about this dude. So they got
- 30:53Speaker 4: a nice combo over there and stop being supposed to
- 30:56Speaker 4: plays man. Big ups to the number three running back
- 30:59Speaker 4: for the forty nine ers, I don't.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Remember his name, Isaac Garrindo. Grindo.
- 31:05Speaker 4: When you can break off a seventy yard run to
- 31:07Speaker 4: seal the game, man, that's demoralizing. So I know these
- 31:11Speaker 4: guys take pride in what they do. They're gonna get
- 31:13Speaker 4: that going and stop this run.
- 31:15Speaker 2: It's the explosive place, right because the thing that sucks
- 31:17Speaker 2: about it and you can't play this game. Coach McDonald
- 31:19Speaker 2: talked about it at the podium this week, where you
- 31:21Speaker 2: can't take away a couple of plays and look at
- 31:23Speaker 2: the numbers. Yeah, but it does show you, like, hey,
- 31:25Speaker 2: we weren't bad against the run the entire game, but
- 31:27Speaker 2: when you give up explosives, that's what happens and it
- 31:29Speaker 2: looks bad. So kill the explosives. Gotta get that done
- 31:33Speaker 2: and let's take the ball away. Bump, Yeah, gotta take
- 31:35Speaker 2: the ball away. Thisxs are minus six turnover to Frenchill.
- 31:38Speaker 2: When I looked at that, I'm like, holy smokes. Only
- 31:40Speaker 2: the Titans and Raiders are worse right now, and it's
- 31:42Speaker 2: hard to win football games that way. That's a huge
- 31:44Speaker 2: stat that's a huge stat. You gotta take the ball
- 31:46Speaker 2: away and they're just not doing it right now.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Yeah, can we get over five hundred this time? This
- 31:51Speaker 3: three and three? Life? Ain't it? This? Ain't it?
- 31:53Speaker 4: You get over five hundred, we'll see what the nine
- 31:56Speaker 4: nine ers have the Chiefs, so we'll be scoreboard watching
- 31:59Speaker 4: seeing what's going on there.
- 32:00Speaker 3: But take care of your house. Man.
- 32:03Speaker 4: I know we're going to the Falcons, so let's let's
- 32:05Speaker 4: let's what are the kids doing kicking through the front door.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you know the celebration they're doing right now
- 32:11Speaker 4: when need one of them. My daughter showed me that
- 32:13Speaker 4: celebration the other day. So yeah, let's get it. Ye,
- 32:16Speaker 4: strap strap, whatever it is, man, get it done.
- 32:19Speaker 2: I feel good about it, and like I, like you said,
- 32:21Speaker 2: the Seahawks could be right back all alone in first place.
- 32:24Speaker 2: If the Chiefs take care of business against the forty
- 32:26Speaker 2: nine ers. It should be a fun one. It's gonna
- 32:27Speaker 2: be early ten am Pacific time. Seahawks pregame show starts
- 32:31Speaker 2: at seven am. You can hear Michael Bumbas, Paul Moyer,
- 32:34Speaker 2: Ray Roberts getting that thing done. So Seahawks taking on
- 32:37Speaker 2: the Falcons. Hopefully we'll be talking to you on Monday
- 32:39Speaker 2: about a Seahawks victory. This has been Hawk talk. He's
- 32:41Speaker 2: Michael Bumbas on Masa Troby. Until next time.
