- 0:15SPEAKER_00: I guess we'll go that way.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: That's hysterical.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Uh did a wonderful job yesterday, kept everything in check, and uh, I was very pleased.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's awesome.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: I'm glad.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: So it went pretty smoothly yesterday.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: It was fine.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: It was a Monday.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: It was like, yeah, okay, here we go.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Let's get through it.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Monday, we're trying to get through the rest of the school year.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Oh my God, it just won't end.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: When uh we were hanging out with a couple teachers on Sunday.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: So Zach's two best friends are both teachers.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: One's a music teacher up in Buffalo.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: The other one is, well, listen to what he teaches.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: So he is not only is an English and a lit teacher, but also he teaches drivers ed.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: How fun is that?
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: I remember my English teachers always being very calm.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: So maybe that's that's a good mix, see?
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Because you're gonna need to have a level of calmness.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: If you're teaching that.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: And I I kind of like prodded them both because they they're both really like chill, cool guys.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: I said, Are you the favorite teacher?
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: And they're like, Well, not really, because nobody wants to write anymore.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Well, no, that's not even it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Because he just has like a really awesome personality, and he's like, Everybody has a favorite teacher.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: He goes, I think I am the favorite for some.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, but not the favorite for all.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: At all.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Like, based on what you're saying right now.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Like, but but I said the weird thing is I hated math, but my math teacher in high school was one of my favorite teachers.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's interesting.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Yes, she was just really cool and chill and just really relatable to students.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: So she never was she wasn't too much of a hard ass, you know what I mean?
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, you didn't do your homework again?
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Well, not even just that.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: She just was like, you know, I'm an adult.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to teach you how to be an adult.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Let's let's treat each other with respect.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: That's pretty cool.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, exactly.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: So So what show was it again you went to see?
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Wilco.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: So Wilco was like popular in the 90s, 2000s, but they were kind of like an underground.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Believe me, I didn't really know that's not the whole mainstream life that I've lived all those years.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: No, believe me, and I didn't really know a bunch either.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: I had to get a good Wilco education before I went.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: So we listened to a good solid two hours driving to Chautauqua, a good solid two hours of Wilco, which we got a little close.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: You got the concert.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: So you really had like a solid four hours.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Wow, nice Brad.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Tell me that you went because of your boyfriend without saying I went because of my boyfriend.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: That's 1,000% true.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: But what did I do?
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: The most Alley thing that I would ever do.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Did you rush the stage?
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I got third row.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: What I don't care about.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: What was that like?
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Um, well, okay.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: There's a couple things.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: There's a couple elements here.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: The first one is this venue is freaking awesome.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, uh uh Chautauqua?
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Chautauqua institution, yes.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: So freaking awesome, but also not full.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: So even the usher was like, we're not really getting wait, Usher was there too?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: No, the usher.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, the usher.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: The usher, not usher.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Suddenly that show took off.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Like, wow, I know this stuff.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: The usher was like, we're really not caring where you sit.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: And it and when she said that, we were both like, huh?
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: That's really weird.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: So then we sat where, you know, like towards the back or whatever.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: And then for the second set, we're like, we're going to the front.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Up you went?
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: But the next day, and you know, can I say what I call this type of music?
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I I don't know what you're gonna say, so I you just have to go.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: This is the first break of the show, so I'm just coming in hot.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I call it vagina rock.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: It's so like blem blem blem blem blank.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Were you thinking Sarah McLaughlin might pop out and actually uh Sarah McLaughlin?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Sarah McLaughlin would seem like a banger next to these guys.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Oh wow, that just summed it all up for me.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: That wow.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: They did, they did rock a little bit.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Don't get me wrong.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: They did.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: But after listening to a good solid two hours, and we even got close to Chautauqua, I'm like, can we change it?
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: I gotta listen to something else before I consume another two-hour concert of Will Cow.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And and these guys, you know, they're they're totally like the alt grunge, into it.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: But all three of them.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Like these three amigos, Zach and his two friends, they're really into it.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: They're like, oh yeah, my favorite album was Foxtrot Whiskey Biscuit.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: I don't like it.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: I love that, you know.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: This is great.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: So this is so great because you are the one normally that sets the plans and goes, You're being drug along for all my hell.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: And the fact that it just up-ended on you in such an epic way is pretty excellent.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: It did.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I got all that.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Did I have a good time?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Yes, I did.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: I sure did.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: And the next morning.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: But it wasn't necessarily the music.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: No.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: And the next morning at breakfast, I was standing standing next to this woman and I was like, But when you're omelette's the most exciting thing from the show.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: I said to the woman, I'm like, oh, were you at the concert last night?
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Oh we got the colour.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And I said, What did you think?
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And she goes, Well, it was a little loud.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: And I said A little loud.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So I go back to the table.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I said, Zach, you are so lucky to have found me.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: He goes, What do you mean?
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: So I explained the conversation.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: He goes, Oh my God.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: I'm like, there is somebody who's like just as as exciting as toast that you could be sitting next to right now.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: So's Wilco.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Uh so what was yesterday?
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Just like a recovery kind of rest up day or something.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, we we spent the night there because they have they have a uh historical hotel that we stayed in from like eighteen ninety one, I think.
- 6:00unknown: It was awesome.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: After that show, God knows you needed to shower off the agony.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Oh
