- 0:34what is going on everybody it is wednesday
- 0:36that means my man cory leonard is in
- 0:39the house we're here for wild wednesday
- 0:43with cory changing it up um what's going
- 0:48on man i'm not a whole lot brother
- 0:50i didn't even know it was wild wednesday
- 0:52that's a new one on me yeah getting
- 0:56wild in this joint getting wild it's
- 1:00getting a little little sideways as it
- 1:02were
- 1:03Not a whole lot, dude.
- 1:04Got up same Wednesday morning schedule as
- 1:06always.
- 1:07Get up, go coach, come back.
- 1:10Five-person class at five a.m.
- 1:12My one-person class is six a.m.
- 1:15Personal training by Corey.
- 1:19It's not set up that way, though.
- 1:20That's just how many people come for the
- 1:22class?
- 1:23Generally speaking, five a.m.,
- 1:27depending on the workout,
- 1:28that crew is either all in or half
- 1:31of them are going to do something
- 1:32different.
- 1:33And this morning it was squat clean,
- 1:37it was a ten rep max back squat,
- 1:38and it was squat clean,
- 1:40burpees over the bar, bike,
- 1:42burpees over...
- 1:42But it was sprint intervals,
- 1:44like full-on one-minute sprints with a
- 1:47one-minute break.
- 1:49And the other four that were there were
- 1:51like, no, we ain't doing that.
- 1:53So I asked about the one-person classes,
- 1:58like...
- 2:00when I first started CrossFit,
- 2:01we were a very, very,
- 2:02very small gym and you'd show up some
- 2:06days and you're the only car in the
- 2:07parking lot.
- 2:08And that one-on-one session with the
- 2:10coach,
- 2:11cause I didn't pay for personal training.
- 2:12I was there to be with a class,
- 2:14right?
- 2:16I didn't like the personal surprise
- 2:18one-on-one trainings where the coach has
- 2:20nothing else to do,
- 2:21but be eyes on you.
- 2:25So I'll say this, uh,
- 2:28The lady who was there at six a.m.,
- 2:30that's where she comes.
- 2:31She comes at six.
- 2:32Like,
- 2:33doesn't matter what else is going on.
- 2:34And she's there at six o'clock.
- 2:36It used to be that there was at
- 2:38least three people in there since school
- 2:41started.
- 2:42One of those ladies has moved to five
- 2:44a.m.
- 2:44because she has to go back and get
- 2:45her kids on the bus and stuff like
- 2:46that.
- 2:49So like six a.m.
- 2:50was never a real big class.
- 2:52There's always, you know, three, four,
- 2:54five, maybe five people in it.
- 2:56But Tracy's really,
- 2:56really good about listening,
- 2:58going through and doing what I tell her
- 3:01to do or suggest for her to do,
- 3:02I should say,
- 3:03and lets me push her and get her
- 3:05through.
- 3:05Like she doesn't seem to mind.
- 3:07So it's not that big a deal.
- 3:09It's crazy because my first gym,
- 3:11like there was actually like a business
- 3:14that asked for a five a.m.
- 3:16class.
- 3:18And that business brought like twenty
- 3:19people.
- 3:21And so for consistency purposes,
- 3:24you got about fifteen a day.
- 3:26Yeah.
- 3:27Then I go to Polaris and they're five
- 3:30a.m.
- 3:30and six a.m.
- 3:32The schedule opens at eight p.m.
- 3:35If you did not have your class reserved
- 3:37by eight oh one, you didn't have it.
- 3:41Wow.
- 3:43On five, five a.m.
- 3:44and six a.m.
- 3:46our big classes are generally the
- 3:47afternoon classes like five thirty
- 3:50yesterday we had oh let's see one two
- 3:55probably about eight to eight ten people
- 3:57yesterday at five thirty five a.m like i
- 3:59said it's a crap shoot there's either
- 4:00eight people in there or there's four five
- 4:04something like that and it really does
- 4:06depend because that five a.m crew they
- 4:07will they've been there forever one of
- 4:11them literally since the door opened since
- 4:12before the door opened actually jared
- 4:15And they will literally look at the board
- 4:16and go, what is that again?
- 4:18And I'll go to explain to them, like,
- 4:20yeah, we're not doing that.
- 4:20We're going to do something on the other
- 4:21side.
- 4:22And then the other ones that just come
- 4:23for class, I mean,
- 4:24they come and they give what they got,
- 4:27which is fun.
- 4:29They're a fun group.
- 4:29It's one of my fun – them and
- 4:32Saturday mornings are my – that's two of
- 4:34my favorite classes to coach.
- 4:38Yeah.
- 4:38Just because I know all of them.
- 4:39And if you're there on Saturday morning,
- 4:41generally speaking,
- 4:42you're there because you want to be there.
- 4:44it's not just because it's ingrained in
- 4:45your routine.
- 4:46Like, Oh, I just got off work.
- 4:47I go to the gym or whatever.
- 4:48Like if you're there on Saturday morning,
- 4:50you're usually there because you want to
- 4:51be.
- 4:52And it's usually ends up being a good
- 4:53time.
- 4:55Yeah.
- 4:55When I coached, um,
- 4:57I coached the five AM,
- 5:00six AM once a week.
- 5:02And those were my guys, man.
- 5:04Those are people that were my age.
- 5:06They wanted to listen to my music.
- 5:09Um, and we had a good time,
- 5:10real good time.
- 5:13But I personally, I've done them all.
- 5:16Like I've tried to do the five AM.
- 5:17I've tried to do six AM.
- 5:18Um, I, but,
- 5:21but where I'm most comfortable now at this
- 5:24age is noon,
- 5:26which is why we do the show.
- 5:27And now I'm back to evenings, but it's,
- 5:30um,
- 5:30but evenings or noon are my comfortable
- 5:33times.
- 5:34Um, I'm so stiff in the morning,
- 5:37like waking up,
- 5:38like warmups are just brutal morning for
- 5:42me.
- 5:43once it gets cold or our version of
- 5:46cold first time here yeah um i will
- 5:50tell me about gold no no no no
- 5:53code for us uh then yeah my morning
- 5:56warm up you know what i mean i'm
- 5:58two sessions a day
- 6:00It takes a little bit longer because I
- 6:01got to get blood flowing to all the
- 6:03various parts and places and whatnot.
- 6:05But right now, I didn't do that.
- 6:07Same thing, dude.
- 6:08I've been to every single class that we
- 6:09have.
- 6:10We used to have a six thirty.
- 6:11I was a six thirty guy for a
- 6:13very, very long time.
- 6:17But my morning, morning, morning,
- 6:20afternoon.
- 6:22Sean Lenderman working out any time
- 6:23besides five a.m.
- 6:25is just wrong.
- 6:28I don't know.
- 6:29So.
- 6:30this five AM squat club guy kept popping
- 6:33up in the chat.
- 6:33Right.
- 6:34Yeah.
- 6:35And I was like, what, what is this?
- 6:37I don't, I, who is this?
- 6:40We've been, uh, chatting.
- 6:43DM wise and it's become a little community
- 6:47and I guess some of the people in
- 6:48our chat do this they get up and
- 6:52they do these workouts with five a.m.
- 6:55squat club on a YouTube video at five
- 6:59a.m.
- 6:59in the morning Eastern Time and and it's
- 7:03become like a little club that shows up
- 7:05every morning in a little mini community
- 7:07and I think that's pretty freaking cool
- 7:10awesome
- 7:13That's awesome.
- 7:14You can start something like that.
- 7:15Other way.
- 7:17A five a.m.
- 7:17squat club split into my DMs.
- 7:20Just let's make this.
- 7:22Who is pursuing who?
- 7:24Yeah.
- 7:26That's awesome.
- 7:27If you can get something like that to
- 7:28catch on and stay being a thing,
- 7:32you know what I mean?
- 7:33Especially today's age.
- 7:35That's pretty awesome if you can keep it
- 7:37moving like that.
- 7:38That's pretty cool.
- 7:38I like that.
- 7:42David Reed,
- 7:42I would love to join at five p.m.,
- 7:44but I'm sleeping.
- 7:48At five a.m.
- 7:48this morning, I'd already had breakfast,
- 7:53had some caffeine,
- 7:55and was starting to breathe.
- 7:56Wrote everything on the board,
- 7:58got the bikes out,
- 8:00made the bucket with some soapy water to
- 8:02wipe everything down,
- 8:03got all the bikes out.
- 8:07Yes, sir.
- 8:08I am always the hunty.
- 8:11in my dreams.
- 8:18I wanted to update everybody on my mom
- 8:20yesterday.
- 8:20She fell at work right before the show.
- 8:24She's doing well.
- 8:25She's home.
- 8:27Had a complete head scan done.
- 8:29No bleeds, no fractures.
- 8:32She did hit her head.
- 8:33That was the big major concern.
- 8:36Has a pretty good shiner over the left
- 8:41eye.
- 8:42And it's swollen up a little bit.
- 8:45But she's doing well.
- 8:46But here's my question to you.
- 8:48Yeah, my mother is,
- 8:50she's going to kill me.
- 8:51She watches this show every day.
- 8:55My mother is at an age where she
- 9:02is so spry for her age.
- 9:04Let's say that.
- 9:05But she is at an advanced age.
- 9:07She falls in a school.
- 9:10She works at a school.
- 9:13Hits her head off the floor.
- 9:15Why the hell did they not call an
- 9:17ambulance?
- 9:18Right.
- 9:19Transport her to the hospital.
- 9:21That would seem to be a pretty,
- 9:23pretty easy thing to do.
- 9:24You don't have to call an ambulance.
- 9:25You can call nine one one,
- 9:26like three numbers.
- 9:28They helped her off the floor and had
- 9:30her friend come pick her up to take
- 9:32her to the hospital.
- 9:34No, no.
- 9:37That is flat out irresponsible.
- 9:40Yeah,
- 9:40I'm going to say irresponsible is the word
- 9:41I would use.
- 9:42That's the word I would use.
- 9:43If when she gets to the hospital,
- 9:45their main concern is brain bleeds and
- 9:48fractures.
- 9:50Yeah.
- 9:52She should have not been moved.
- 9:54No.
- 9:56She hit her head, first of all.
- 9:58Yeah.
- 9:59And she had a school.
- 10:00She didn't bounce it off the carpet
- 10:02anywhere.
- 10:03That was off of probably solid stone at
- 10:04that point.
- 10:06So, yeah.
- 10:06No,
- 10:06the first thing I'm doing is calling an
- 10:08ambulance.
- 10:10Jesus Christ, dude.
- 10:12Yeah.
- 10:14Yeah,
- 10:14so my nephew who lives here in Columbus,
- 10:16he and I were not happy yesterday
- 10:18afternoon.
- 10:19No.
- 10:20Shit, I'm not happy right now.
- 10:21I don't live anywhere near Columbus.
- 10:24And my mom's in Pennsylvania,
- 10:25so we're like... Yeah, it's not a close...
- 10:30Like, grab someone by the neck, you know?
- 10:33And so he called and put in a
- 10:37call to the superintendent of the school
- 10:39district.
- 10:41But we have not heard back yet.
- 10:43Phone a friend is not an option if
- 10:45an elderly lady falls and bounces her head
- 10:48off of the floor.
- 10:49It's not who wants to be a millionaire.
- 10:53It's who wants to not.
- 10:55That's infuriating.
- 10:59It is.
- 11:01So anyway, but I,
- 11:02but she's doing well and,
- 11:04and she listens every day.
- 11:05And I know that reached out to me.
- 11:09So just wanted to give an update to
- 11:11that.
- 11:11If anybody asks,
- 11:12tell them you should see the other guy
- 11:14and they ask about your black eye.
- 11:15Yeah.
- 11:16Yeah.
- 11:19Yeah.
- 11:20Oh, I've got stories, man.
- 11:21My mom is feisty, big, big feisty.
- 11:26So, um,
- 11:29Another thing I wanted to talk to you
- 11:30about is yesterday we had our first pop
- 11:33in the Masters age group.
- 11:36Surprise, surprise.
- 11:37A Brazilian.
- 11:39Yearly, we... And that's the first, right?
- 11:45Right.
- 11:46So my question to you is,
- 11:48what's the over-under for this year?
- 11:51Five.
- 11:51You think five?
- 11:52Five.
- 11:55Five, and I would take the over.
- 11:57Okay.
- 11:59Okay.
- 12:00Okay.
- 12:02Yeah.
- 12:06Corey is a Brazilianist.
- 12:10Listen,
- 12:12I was chatting with someone yesterday and
- 12:15I said,
- 12:17it's crazy what's going on in Brazil,
- 12:20right?
- 12:21And I said,
- 12:23do they put Tren on their Wheaties?
- 12:29And
- 12:31The response was they sell different
- 12:34cereals.
- 12:35They sell Chiribiotics.
- 12:39I like that.
- 12:41Cap Tren Crunch.
- 12:45That's clever.
- 12:45I like that one.
- 12:47And Raisin Branivar.
- 12:56I hope Hiller's watching because I feel
- 12:58like he could do something with Raisin
- 12:59Branivar.
- 13:00Like, that's hilarious.
- 13:02Cap, Trend, Crunch, and Raisin Branivar.
- 13:06Those were my two favorites.
- 13:08Yes, absolutely.
- 13:10No, John George,
- 13:11that lady was in fifth place that they
- 13:14popped yesterday.
- 13:16I know they go at least five.
- 13:18Yeah, because that lady was in fifth,
- 13:19so...
- 13:22Oh, this is not isolated to Brazil.
- 13:27It is not.
- 13:28But they seem to lean into it more
- 13:30than others.
- 13:32From what I understand,
- 13:33and I do not know that this for
- 13:35a fact,
- 13:35this is pure speculation and hearsay on my
- 13:37point,
- 13:38but it's they're very easy to get in
- 13:40Brazil.
- 13:41Like you can walk to a drugstore and
- 13:43be like, let me get some of that.
- 13:45Let me get some of that.
- 13:46Let me get some of that and go
- 13:47on about your business.
- 13:50Not that that makes it right by any
- 13:53stretch of the imagination, but it's like,
- 13:56I wouldn't,
- 13:57I wouldn't know who to call Scott.
- 13:59I live in South Louisiana.
- 14:00There's bodybuilders.
- 14:01There's CrossFitters.
- 14:02There's like name the thing.
- 14:04I know all of them.
- 14:05And I would not, first of all,
- 14:07I wouldn't do it to begin with,
- 14:08but even if I wanted to,
- 14:10I wouldn't know who to ask.
- 14:11Like, how do you, Hey man,
- 14:13you got to get a cap trend crunch.
- 14:16Yeah.
- 14:19Like, I don't know.
- 14:23It's not worth it.
- 14:25It is not worth it,
- 14:26not by a long shot.
- 14:29First of all, your reputation is ruined,
- 14:32period, right?
- 14:34The only person we've seen come back
- 14:35successfully tonight is Ricky Mack,
- 14:37and that's because, as it turns out,
- 14:38he's a lovable guy.
- 14:40He's an idiot, but he's a lovable idiot,
- 14:42right?
- 14:42He's our idiot.
- 14:43We will protect him.
- 14:44He served his time.
- 14:45He came back.
- 14:46You're going to get blasted everywhere
- 14:49humanly possible.
- 14:51Your reputation is going to be ruined,
- 14:52like I said.
- 14:53And what are you actually doing to your
- 14:55body long term?
- 14:57I'm forty eight, dude.
- 14:58I do not need any help making my
- 15:00body any worse than it's going to be
- 15:01later on down the road.
- 15:06Chemically,
- 15:07especially considering the shit I put in
- 15:09my body when I was twenty something years
- 15:11ago, twenty five years ago,
- 15:12I didn't give a damn about what I
- 15:13put in my body.
- 15:14That was a whole different animal right
- 15:15there.
- 15:17I just don't.
- 15:22Yeah.
- 15:23Yeah.
- 15:26Lito's got an excellent, excellent,
- 15:29excellent question, but yeah.
- 15:32I don't like to name out accusations,
- 15:34but I will read it as someone is
- 15:36clearly very good at not getting caught.
- 15:38How are they be not being tested five
- 15:41times a year?
- 15:45That's a solid, solid question.
- 15:48I think it is flat out cash.
- 15:53It is that to go down and to
- 15:57another country and do a test is much
- 16:00more expensive than doing a test here in
- 16:03the United States.
- 16:04Right.
- 16:06So regretfully,
- 16:08it's very hard to catch them because the
- 16:10expense is so high.
- 16:12And as someone pointed out here, um,
- 16:20She is a doctor,
- 16:22so she knows the half-life,
- 16:25and she knows all the time and everything.
- 16:30I believe Hiller did a video about how
- 16:33PEDs stay in women a lot longer than
- 16:35they stay in men because of the way
- 16:37their bodies are made up.
- 16:39Very interesting video he did.
- 16:42I don't believe she's on it anymore.
- 16:45I believe she was on it.
- 16:47So now her is going to be hard
- 16:50at this, at this point in her career.
- 16:55If, if that makes sense.
- 16:57No, absolutely.
- 16:58It absolutely does.
- 16:59Um,
- 17:01That was the Hillary you're talking about,
- 17:03when he was talking about,
- 17:04especially in women,
- 17:05even if you've only run one cycle,
- 17:08two cycles, whatever,
- 17:09the long lasting effects from those two
- 17:12cycles are gonna stick with you for years
- 17:14and years and years and years down the
- 17:15road.
- 17:16More so in women than they do in
- 17:18men.
- 17:18So yeah.
- 17:25So I think ever catching that person is
- 17:28going to be very,
- 17:28very hard to do because I think she's
- 17:32already gained the effects of it and
- 17:34doesn't need to do it as much anymore,
- 17:37if at all.
- 17:38I'll put it like this.
- 17:39If said person does get popped,
- 17:42it's going to be the duh herb around
- 17:44the world because everybody in our space
- 17:47is going to be like, well, yeah,
- 17:50moving right along.
- 17:50Yeah.
- 17:51Yeah.
- 17:58Ken Walters most of these drug testing
- 18:01companies have locations all over the
- 18:02world and doesn't HQ have country reps
- 18:06that could accompany maybe I don't know
- 18:09the details of that one time but I
- 18:11seriously doubt that they do now with all
- 18:13the cutbacks that they made and especially
- 18:15with PE being people that's running it
- 18:18right now they couldn't possibly give a
- 18:20shit less there's no way yeah we know
- 18:27Jenny
- 18:29To sustain the muscle mass she sustains
- 18:31year-round, though,
- 18:32I don't see how that's possible with
- 18:34female levels of testosterone.
- 18:41Honestly,
- 18:42I would have said the same thing until
- 18:44Hiller explained it to me in a video
- 18:46where he showed this woman who had stopped
- 18:50using for a few years and still had
- 18:54massive muscle to her body structure.
- 19:01And I would even say, like,
- 19:02I've seen Andrea Pinheiro over the years.
- 19:08She is not as big as she was
- 19:09two years ago.
- 19:11But it is apparent she's still bigger than
- 19:14most women,
- 19:15and she still is getting the effects of
- 19:19whatever was done at one time in her
- 19:20life.
- 19:22She's not only bigger than most women,
- 19:23she's bigger than a lot of dudes I
- 19:24know.
- 19:26True.
- 19:31Anyway, again, over under is five.
- 19:34How many we had last year?
- 19:35It was five or six last year,
- 19:38wasn't it?
- 19:40I knew we had the three people that
- 19:42I interviewed and highlighted,
- 19:44and then we had, I think,
- 19:45a couple more on top of that.
- 19:50I wish they drug tested me, Birch.
- 19:52I really, really did.
- 19:54I wish somebody would show up to my
- 19:55office right now.
- 19:58I would gladly go with them.
- 20:00Look,
- 20:01they're going to find Sour Pink Lemonade,
- 20:05Ghost,
- 20:07some banana chips and the protein uh the
- 20:11first warm protein i had this morning uh
- 20:16aaron fraser said liver king stopped peds
- 20:18and still maintaining muscle okay i also
- 20:22have a bridge in in brooklyn that i'd
- 20:25like to sell you yeah he's he stopped
- 20:30taking them yeah he stopped taking them
- 20:35If I stop taking him,
- 20:36you mean that he maybe got somebody else
- 20:38to start giving them to him?
- 20:44Oh, yeah.
- 20:45No, she's definitely bigger than I am,
- 20:46Birch.
- 20:46I got you.
- 20:53I wish they would.
- 20:54Podcast ratings, if they came in,
- 20:56you did it live.
- 21:01I'm in.
- 21:02Send somebody on down.
- 21:04Send somebody on down.
- 21:06Please do.
- 21:07So have you seen Amanda Hari's interview
- 21:11with Will?
- 21:13I saw a clip from it this morning.
- 21:16And by a clip from it,
- 21:16I think that was it.
- 21:18Yeah.
- 21:18So I had it in my notes and
- 21:23I wanted to talk today with you about
- 21:27the PR problem that WFP has.
- 21:30right and it had nothing to do with
- 21:33amanda's interview and then i watched that
- 21:36and i was like what the hell like
- 21:38they can't even get out of their own
- 21:40way that i think that's their biggest
- 21:44problem right now right so what i was
- 21:48going to start with is i was watching
- 21:49boys interrupted last night and they're
- 21:53basically saying that if the schedules
- 21:56don't
- 21:58work out better amongst the two,
- 22:01they're going to have to make a choice.
- 22:03And it seemed pretty obvious that their
- 22:05choice was not WFP.
- 22:07Correct.
- 22:10And so with them for high-end athletes in
- 22:14the CrossFit space saying that they would
- 22:17most likely choose the CrossFit season
- 22:20over WFP, that's a PR nightmare for WFP.
- 22:23Big time.
- 22:25If you're trying to grow and you lose
- 22:28those four, you're effed.
- 22:36And so that was my thought coming into
- 22:39today.
- 22:40Then when I saw that,
- 22:44the thing with Amanda and Will and him
- 22:47saying that,
- 22:50She asked,
- 22:51would you ever see the WFP as a
- 22:52semifinal piece to the CrossFit Games
- 22:56season?
- 22:57And he said, no,
- 22:58but I do see the CrossFit Games becoming
- 23:01a tour stop on the WFP.
- 23:03I'm going to need a second.
- 23:14So breathe that in for a second.
- 23:19Hold on,
- 23:20let me get my wheel more at him.
- 23:21Hold on.
- 23:24Look at the ratings on the CrossFit Games.
- 23:28Look at the ratings on any tour stop
- 23:30you've had.
- 23:30And I know we're not to the championship
- 23:32yet.
- 23:33Right.
- 23:34Maybe I'm just delusional and Copenhagen
- 23:37is going to blow it out of the
- 23:38water and they're going to be right and
- 23:42I'm going to be wrong.
- 23:44But are you kidding me?
- 23:46what kind of delusion do you have coming
- 23:49in at this place and at this stature
- 23:54to say that you,
- 23:57the only way you think that there's going
- 23:58to be some kind of working together is
- 24:02if the games become a tour stop.
- 24:07Bro.
- 24:08That's like saying that the, the,
- 24:12the adult soccer league that I used to
- 24:13play in would be a great place.
- 24:16great qualifier for the world cup or the
- 24:21world cup rather would be a great
- 24:22qualifier for the adult soccer league.
- 24:25I used to play in like, yeah,
- 24:27those guys are pretty good.
- 24:28They could probably be part of our
- 24:30tournament if they wanted to.
- 24:32That being those college football playoffs
- 24:34saying, Hey, why don't we,
- 24:37we think that in the future,
- 24:39the super bowl will be one of the
- 24:41playoff games in the college football
- 24:44playoff.
- 24:45Yeah,
- 24:45we might have to move it a little
- 24:47bit because, you know,
- 24:49they're not usually right around the same
- 24:50time.
- 24:51So we're going to have to move the
- 24:51Super Bowl up a little bit to like
- 24:53late December or something like that.
- 24:55That way it doesn't interfere.
- 24:56It can be part of the college football
- 24:59season, the playoff season.
- 25:02Yeah, Tega's right.
- 25:05Will is DeLulu.
- 25:08He has balls.
- 25:09Got to admire it.
- 25:11I wish, look,
- 25:11he has the confidence of a fucking
- 25:13three-year-old on a diving board.
- 25:15Like, that's amazing.
- 25:17I audibly laughed when he said that.
- 25:20Yeah.
- 25:21Proof you should start whatever business
- 25:23you were thinking of and just be
- 25:24delusional about success.
- 25:27I...
- 25:31Yesterday, I was trying to defend them.
- 25:33I was trying to show what I thought
- 25:36they were trying to achieve.
- 25:38The PR nightmare I thought they had with
- 25:40four top athletes saying,
- 25:42if it comes down to it,
- 25:45and this year was tough enough,
- 25:48if they had more events,
- 25:50we're probably going to have to make some
- 25:51decisions.
- 25:52The PR nightmare that that brought last
- 25:56night to then this morning seeing...
- 25:59Yeah, we're good.
- 26:01In fact,
- 26:01we're so good that the thing that's been
- 26:03here for twenty years,
- 26:05we're hoping that they become just a tour
- 26:07stop for us.
- 26:11We've been here not even a full year
- 26:13yet.
- 26:15We've been here not even a full year
- 26:16yet.
- 26:18But yeah,
- 26:18I think the games could be a tour
- 26:20stop.
- 26:21Maybe tour stop two.
- 26:26Again, I admire the man's confidence.
- 26:29Sean in Oregon,
- 26:30fake it till you make it.
- 26:36Justin seemed very hesitant about next
- 26:38year.
- 26:38The clip I saw of Justin, yes,
- 26:40he was very like... I thought James,
- 26:44that's the one that surprised me.
- 26:46Because James has performed well at the
- 26:48two tour stops.
- 26:50And he took third at the games.
- 26:52He took first at Waterpalooza.
- 26:54And he seemed very,
- 26:57very suspicious about next season being
- 27:00workable.
- 27:03Especially,
- 27:03didn't they say they were adding another
- 27:04one?
- 27:05Another stop?
- 27:06They are adding another stop.
- 27:07Yeah, so you're adding another stop.
- 27:10You got semifinals.
- 27:11Quarterfinals are back.
- 27:13All they, everybody has to do that.
- 27:15So you, you got the open,
- 27:17you got quarterfinals,
- 27:18you got in-person semifinals plus however
- 27:22many tour stops these guys are going to
- 27:23do.
- 27:24Plus if these guys,
- 27:26like if however many take from semifinals,
- 27:28now you have to compete at one,
- 27:30you might have to compete at another one.
- 27:32If you don't make the first one that
- 27:34you go to,
- 27:34you don't make the games on the first
- 27:35shot.
- 27:35You might do another one.
- 27:37That's a lot, dude.
- 27:40Um,
- 27:42people are asking, did he really say that?
- 27:44And it may be just the Brian friend
- 27:47thing.
- 27:48I don't know.
- 27:49I can't read sarcasm in text,
- 27:52but it's right here.
- 27:55Let me,
- 27:56hopefully I can get the volume on fast.
- 27:58A CrossFit Games semifinal event.
- 28:00This is crazy.
- 28:02I could see maybe in some world the
- 28:04Games becoming a part of our season and
- 28:06one of our main tours because we have
- 28:08the exact same roster.
- 28:11But who knows?
- 28:13Yeah,
- 28:13I think that would be awesome to have
- 28:15the Games as one of the tours.
- 28:17There could be a possibility of becoming a
- 28:18CrossFit Games.
- 28:19There it is.
- 28:21Pause.
- 28:27Because we have the exact same roster.
- 28:28No, you don't.
- 28:29No, you don't.
- 28:31You don't.
- 28:32You don't have the exact same roster.
- 28:43So what CrossFit is saying, or yeah,
- 28:45there you go.
- 28:46David Reed,
- 28:46all sports work around their marquee
- 28:48event.
- 28:49Diamond League, as an example,
- 28:50works around the Olympics.
- 28:52He has will not watch sports.
- 28:56World Cups every four years.
- 28:59Every soccer league on the planet shuts
- 29:02down during World Cup because that's
- 29:05what's going on.
- 29:08It doesn't matter what else is happening.
- 29:10When the World Cup comes around,
- 29:12every other...
- 29:13When they moved it to the winter in
- 29:15Qatar, everything gets shut down.
- 29:20And in what world...
- 29:28Will has everyone talking about this
- 29:30event, so he's getting pretty solid PR.
- 29:32If you look at it from that perspective,
- 29:35from all PR is good PR,
- 29:37even if they're talking shit about you,
- 29:40then yeah, absolutely.
- 29:41I would one hundred percent agree with
- 29:42that.
- 29:45I do think that there's some truth to
- 29:47that,
- 29:48but I don't think the juice is worth
- 29:50the squeeze.
- 29:51No, no.
- 29:52when you have PR that's not positive,
- 29:54you need to then spin it in a
- 29:56way that works for you.
- 29:58They don't have anybody that's spinning
- 30:00any of this stuff.
- 30:03And I made a comment on Amanda's video
- 30:05that when she asked about some of the
- 30:07complications of the season,
- 30:09he just kept comparing it to F-one.
- 30:12And I think that the big problem that
- 30:13their people have is they have never
- 30:16simplified what the season is.
- 30:18It's always comparing it to golf,
- 30:20comparing it to tennis,
- 30:22comparing it to F-one and a point season
- 30:25structure.
- 30:26There are tons and tons of people in
- 30:28this space that have never watched F one,
- 30:31never watched golf and never watched
- 30:33tennis.
- 30:34So you keep comparing it to those sports
- 30:37does not help them understand the system.
- 30:42I watched tennis when my mom was playing
- 30:44tennis.
- 30:45when I was in junior high and high
- 30:48school,
- 30:49when she was playing tournaments around
- 30:50here, because she liked it.
- 30:52And when it came off,
- 30:53when it was on, if the U.S.
- 30:56Open was on, whatever,
- 30:58that's the only time.
- 30:58But to follow an entire season, no.
- 31:01F-one, pretty cool.
- 31:02If I see that a race is on
- 31:04and there's nothing else on there, sure,
- 31:06I'll watch an F-one race for a couple
- 31:08laps, whatever.
- 31:09I like cars.
- 31:11That's about the extent of it.
- 31:15maybe we're not thinking about this the
- 31:16right way.
- 31:17CrossFit makes perfect sense here.
- 31:19To be fair,
- 31:20the Mighty Ducks went from Minnesota youth
- 31:22hockey to the Goodwill Games.
- 31:26So it can be done in a Disney
- 31:28movie.
- 31:29It can be done in a Disney movie.
- 31:36uh tristan patrick side note on f-one i
- 31:38started watching drive to survive and that
- 31:40is lit it really is but i don't
- 31:43have to sit through the whole race what
- 31:45i love about drive to survive it gives
- 31:46me all the drama that goes on without
- 31:49having to sit through cars going around in
- 31:51a circle yeah far around the road course
- 31:56and i don't know if it's still this
- 31:57way but the
- 32:00when I was semi paying attention to what
- 32:02was going on in F one,
- 32:04like there's not a whole lot of passing.
- 32:05So it's like you qualify.
- 32:07Cool.
- 32:07Don't wreck.
- 32:08Stay out in front from where you
- 32:09qualified.
- 32:10You're probably going to end up winning
- 32:11race pit stops and whatnot aside.
- 32:14So it's not super exciting to watch for
- 32:17someone who doesn't give a shit about it.
- 32:18Like we'll watch it if it's only because
- 32:20I like sports.
- 32:22What you don't see in the racing and
- 32:24you see in this Drive to Survive series
- 32:27are teammates that are pissed because the
- 32:30other one's getting more favorable
- 32:31treatment than the other,
- 32:32so they slam into each other on the
- 32:34track, and then they're both out.
- 32:37Things like that.
- 32:38That's what makes it exciting to watch.
- 32:42That I could get by.
- 32:44John George.
- 32:45I think he's just hurting the credibility
- 32:46of the project.
- 32:47I mean, league.
- 32:48Am I the only one...
- 32:51alone in thinking this, I should say,
- 32:53is that how long do we call it
- 32:56a project?
- 32:58A project is something that you see
- 33:00through from start to finish.
- 33:03If I would be building a deck at
- 33:04my house,
- 33:04that's a project that I'm working on.
- 33:06When the deck's done,
- 33:07there's no more deck,
- 33:08so the project's over with.
- 33:10Can we call it something else?
- 33:12The World Fitness League, perhaps?
- 33:13Maybe a WFL?
- 33:14That probably would make a whole lot more
- 33:16sense.
- 33:19Maybe I'm thinking too much into it.
- 33:21I think that's the least of their problems
- 33:23at this point.
- 33:24I agree.
- 33:27I agree.
- 33:29It just, it doesn't,
- 33:30it doesn't sound like,
- 33:32like a world fitness project to me sounds
- 33:33like let's get everybody in the world into
- 33:36fitness.
- 33:37Like that's, that's what WF,
- 33:39like world fitness project.
- 33:40I want to get the world fit.
- 33:43It doesn't scream fitness racing to me.
- 33:46I don't know.
- 33:49See, me and Tristan is like,
- 33:54locks his car doors if he hears he's
- 33:56near a project.
- 33:57That's a fact.
- 33:59That is a fact.
- 34:01I'm not disagreeing that the name is
- 34:02awful, but honestly,
- 34:05that's probably number seventy-two on the
- 34:07list of things that need fixed.
- 34:08A hundred percent.
- 34:09A hundred percent.
- 34:12That just solidifies the fact that me and
- 34:13Tristan were separated at birth.
- 34:17It's fine.
- 34:18Yeah, that's a scary proposition there.
- 34:20That's my dude, man.
- 34:23oh anyway what else we got uh that's
- 34:28why i put it that i yeah uh
- 34:32he wants a league but calls it a
- 34:33project i'm with you corey yeah so uh
- 34:40uh um tour stop three will be the
- 34:41crossfit games in albany
- 34:50Oh, yes.
- 34:51Did you see?
- 34:52Yeah,
- 34:52you caught coffee pods a lot yesterday
- 34:54with Pat.
- 34:56About halfway through.
- 35:00So same.
- 35:01I started it.
- 35:02I came over here to watch you,
- 35:05hang out with you,
- 35:06and I went and caught the tail end
- 35:07of it after you got off.
- 35:17I want to say how you can be
- 35:17involved in something on the level that
- 35:20Pat seems is seemingly involved in and no,
- 35:24almost nothing about it or not have any
- 35:28of the,
- 35:29like no other stuff that everybody else
- 35:30seems to know.
- 35:32Well, I don't know.
- 35:33Well, I don't know.
- 35:33Well, and just kept like,
- 35:39you can't be immune to criticism if you're
- 35:41going to be part of anything.
- 35:44Right.
- 35:45Whatever you're in,
- 35:46if you're going to be a part of
- 35:47it, then chances are better not.
- 35:48It doesn't matter what it is.
- 35:49You could be feeding homeless children.
- 35:52At some point,
- 35:52somebody is going to criticize you for
- 35:54doing it one way or the other.
- 35:57And you can't just be, well,
- 36:00everybody's just hating on me.
- 36:01Well, everybody's just hating on us.
- 36:02Well, everybody's just hating on us.
- 36:04No, they're not.
- 36:06This show is a perfect example.
- 36:07Whenever they first announced that they
- 36:09were a thing,
- 36:10Savannah was another good example.
- 36:11Hey, this sounds cool.
- 36:13Let's check it out.
- 36:14And then the more they got exposed as
- 36:16to what they were actually doing,
- 36:17I hate using that word expose,
- 36:19but I don't know a better way to
- 36:20put it.
- 36:21Once it got rolling and people didn't
- 36:23understand it and they started making
- 36:25missteps here, there and yonder,
- 36:27whatever it is,
- 36:28and people are just pointing out the fact.
- 36:31Hey,
- 36:32Austin almost lost his balls in the middle
- 36:34of a workout.
- 36:36Ricky had two bikes break on him in
- 36:38this same workout, right?
- 36:42Your point structure is kind of weird.
- 36:45We don't understand it.
- 36:46You know, just all the lighting,
- 36:49whatever else you want to call it.
- 36:51And instead of going, yep,
- 36:53we acknowledge those things.
- 36:53We're not, you know,
- 36:55Pat's on there yesterday and just going,
- 36:56well,
- 36:56people just hate on it for no reason.
- 36:58People just hate on it for no reason.
- 37:00no, that's not really what's happening.
- 37:02And I can't imagine living with my head
- 37:04in the sand like that for an extended
- 37:06period of time.
- 37:09Yeah.
- 37:10Yeah.
- 37:11I, I, again,
- 37:12I apparently I'm not to the angry, uh,
- 37:15Pat part that happens.
- 37:16You're going to eat the last ten minutes
- 37:18or so.
- 37:19That's ten, fifteen minutes.
- 37:23It was, uh, it was interesting.
- 37:25I'll leave it at that.
- 37:27Let's finish that up this afternoon.
- 37:31But I wanted to get through some of
- 37:32the,
- 37:32like the Amanda stuff this morning and
- 37:35boys interrupted was way,
- 37:37way more interesting than I,
- 37:40with it being the off season,
- 37:41like it's hard finding like interesting
- 37:43topics in the sport piece of whatever this
- 37:46is.
- 37:48And I cannot wait till Sunday night to
- 37:49talk about their discussion on the GHD and
- 37:54I don't know if,
- 37:54did you see Boys Interrupted?
- 37:55No.
- 37:57So apparently, you know,
- 37:59Hopper does the most beautiful GHDs you've
- 38:02ever seen.
- 38:02Very nice.
- 38:04And he was almost apologizing for his
- 38:10technique on the GHD.
- 38:12But they're beautiful.
- 38:14And James is our trash.
- 38:22He's so thing.
- 38:24Yeah.
- 38:24It's they don't look good at all.
- 38:26No.
- 38:26And so I guess James put a tape
- 38:28mark like they did at syndicate crown on
- 38:31his GHD.
- 38:32So to make sure his butt was behind
- 38:34the line and he said, wow,
- 38:36those are way harder.
- 38:42so there was a discussion about that that
- 38:43has been carolyn privo's like biggest pet
- 38:47peeve of this season i swear to god
- 38:50and i cannot wait to get her her
- 38:52topic on that but back on the wfp
- 38:55and i've got to go in a couple
- 38:56minutes because i have a one o'clock
- 38:57meeting um uh savannah i agree pat is
- 39:00such a victim we have thrown a hundred
- 39:03that a hundred times more criticism at the
- 39:05crossfit games than wtf yeah i mean i've
- 39:08criticized both
- 39:11And if there's something that they do
- 39:13well, I say what they do well.
- 39:15But all that the people supporting the WFP
- 39:21want to hear is the negative stuff and
- 39:24then to go trumpet their horns that
- 39:27they're defending the WFP.
- 39:32That's the big problem.
- 39:35Nobody is looking at it with a critical
- 39:37eye.
- 39:37They're just...
- 39:40They're doing everything perfect.
- 39:44Like the statement that Will made that the
- 39:46games are going to be a tour stop.
- 39:49Because they're so good that the CrossFit
- 39:52Games should just come on over.
- 39:56Hey,
- 39:58this thing that's been around for twenty
- 39:59years should definitely be a part of the
- 40:02thing that we just started six months ago.
- 40:06That's one hundred percent a thing.
- 40:10That's my boy.
- 40:12That is my boy.
- 40:15It's so dumb.
- 40:18So dumb.
- 40:24And then the last thing I'm going to
- 40:25say is all the promised and innovative
- 40:27media that they were going to come out
- 40:29with
- 40:30They have nothing in the space that gets
- 40:34the views and the likes of the people
- 40:36that are here.
- 40:37Savon, Hiller, Coffee Pods and Wads,
- 40:41all of them.
- 40:42They get shit tons of views.
- 40:46WFP has put nothing out that gets anything
- 40:49close to that.
- 40:51Why?
- 40:52And then the place that could help promote
- 40:56you, you just keep dogging.
- 41:00That part blows my mind.
- 41:01You just keep dogging.
- 41:07It'd be like if you were a new
- 41:08startup league and you started dogging
- 41:10ESPN.
- 41:12Yeah.
- 41:13I want to start a new sports news
- 41:16channel.
- 41:18And the first thing you did was get
- 41:19on and say how shitty ESPN was.
- 41:21Their coverage is terrible.
- 41:24Really?
- 41:25Because they covered everything.
- 41:27I've literally seen cornhole tournaments
- 41:29and tag on ESPN.
- 41:34They literally hired the buttery bros and
- 41:35said innovative and new and unique and let
- 41:39them do the same thing they've always
- 41:41done.
- 41:45And look,
- 41:46kudos to Mars and Hebrew because what they
- 41:49do, they are very, very good at.
- 41:52They've been doing the exact same thing.
- 41:55since however long they've been making
- 41:57videos whenever they started doing the
- 41:58brotherly road stuff and but it is one
- 42:02hundred percent recycled every single
- 42:04state every single episode of one of
- 42:06whatever they do which is fantastic like
- 42:09if that's what that's what cool awesome
- 42:12but to say that they're new and innovative
- 42:13by any stretch of imagination is not a
- 42:15thing all right i got a meeting in
- 42:19three minutes yes sir get on it and
- 42:21yeah and it's with an outside source so
- 42:23i've got to get going
- 42:25So, guys, we'll be back tomorrow.
- 42:26I'm sure we'll talk more about this.
- 42:28Maybe we'll have Corey back because we had
- 42:30a short Corey show this week.
- 42:32But we'll be back tomorrow with all that
- 42:36business.
- 42:37And then I'm on the Crisp Easterfield
- 42:38podcast tomorrow as well at three p.m.
- 42:41Eastern time.
- 42:42With that,
- 42:42we'll see everybody next time on Lunch
- 42:46with the Clydesdale.
- 42:47Bye, guys.
