- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's fuck ya Friday!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck you!
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready for some wins!
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guess will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Happy FYF.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa, second one of the new year.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: I promise I won't count these every because I'll just forget at some point.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: I promise.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Thank goodness we don't do a perfect run here.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: It is a fucking Friday episode.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: We are sharing winds of each others and celebrating that like not like some winds or just that we got to the week, right?
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: a little mantra and something was inspiring.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: So, usually it's inspired me on the internet, but I've been, I figured I'd start the year with things that inspired me that are in my life daily with you.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, last week I shared something out of a book that I read every day, and this week I'm sharing out of another book that I read every day.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: And this book is Gay Hendrix, you are a big leap here.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: You are a big leap here.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: And he was episode 400.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: I love that we had
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, that's doing 27 episodes ago.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: But it feels like it was just yesterday.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's the episode you have to go back and listen to.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so on page 202 of his book, he writes, the word celebrate comes from the Latin verb, Celebra, which has a number of ancient meanings to celebrate something as to honor it and to sing the praises of it.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever the meaning of the words, the actual experience of celebration is what really juices up our experience of living.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, you're big leap for today.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I love this, because it's like, okay, you learn something, now you get to go take some action on it.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: Pause several times a day to consciously celebrate what you've created in your life.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Each decade, each time, dedicate a full 10 to 15 seconds to celebrate, to full celebration, which inspired by the dancing nuns who found the mushrooms may include dancing.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh!
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: that references something I wasn't going to read too, but I'm going to read to you now.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, Matalki mushrooms are known in Japan as the Dancing Mushroom.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: According to a Japanese legend, a group of Buddhist nuns and wood cutters met on a mountain trail where they discovered a fruiting of Matalki mushrooms emerging from the forest floor.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: Rejoice, and other discovered that the delicious mushroom they dance to celebrate, and that is from the American psychologist and author, Paul Stamets.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that's probably why the nuns were dancing, right?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: 10 to 15 seconds, a full celebration.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: So we talk about FYF's, because I do know that when we celebrate something that we did do, we are creating some dopamine in the brain.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: It makes it easier for us to notice that good things are happening.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: It really does take a moment to get us out of like the cynical nature of what the world, the world wants you cynical, down, depressed, and like, why does it matter?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Why does it matter?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you're being it till you see it each and every week, you won't take their shit.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: You won't.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: You won't do it.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: You won't let people push you around.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: You won't be a pleaple pleaser anymore, and then they can't control you.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: So that is why celebrating what you did do is so freaking important to me for you.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: Because I, you are not moldable,
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: All right, you're not.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: You're your own person.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: And you will inspire so many people.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: You will inspire so many people.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: So now we gotta celebrate your wins.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: I got a couple of for you from you.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: And they are Meganjoy Pilates.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: She said, I did a magic circle class with my friend Mez.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Megan, I know at the time that you send this end, you're going through a massive life situation.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I am just so freaking thrilled that you sent this end and that you got to do that, but for yourself, but also that your proof, we've known each other for years, that even when shit is going on in your life, you can take time to celebrate something that you did do.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I just love that about you.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Creative soul, Pilates wrote, I got out of bed.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: Boom.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Boom.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: There you have it.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you guys.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it is.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like we put so much pressure on ourselves, but like some of you are going through some crazy things in life.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: You lost someone in your family.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: You lost a job.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's so much unknown.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if you got your you got out of bed.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: Dress and shower, like, that is huge.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: We had a person in agency who lost, you know, two people really quickly in their lives back to back.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, and I, and she'd ask about, like, still hitting her goals.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh my gosh, you've got out of bed.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you took a shower today.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I was like, you know, huge thing we are human beings living in an experience.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: And it's hard.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's really hard.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: So I love that you celebrated that and I think some of some other people that might be the win for today as well.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: So my and we are currently on our way back in the car home for two nights think and we're on our way to Los Angeles and
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: We are picking up some rugs that my publicist gave us when she had a massive win in her life, and she was moving, and she was like, I don't want these, do want these, I'm like, I do want those.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so we're grabbing these rugs, and then we're going to drive down the Huntington Beach, and teach the applies journal expo.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really excited about that.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: But my, my win is I came home and did a day of just here like self care, self love.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's a million things I could do.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: I have like, I haven't been in my business the way that I normally am for a month.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: And there are so many things I could say.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I could do this.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I could do this.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: I could do this, but the reality is the win is that my team and I prep me so well that I could actually be in my business a little bit so that I could just be present teaching on this tour.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: So the tour wrapped, I mean, that's a win, but I think so I'm bringing like that, like the completion of a combination of something like with there are so many wins along the way.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the tour wrapped it was so much fun.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: So it's fun.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait to tell you guys more about it.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: But the win it for today is that like I did not should all over myself but all the things I should do around the house and I should do this and I should do that.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what I did?
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: I got up.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: I did Pilates.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: I did yoga.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: got my hair done and I got my nails done.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I went to the gym.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that ass.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: That was my yesterday.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: That is my win.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: I did not go.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I need.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: I should do laundry.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I should do this.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I should make, you know, there are so people to water my plants is all I.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: I paid people to take care of things and I let them take care of the things and I am so proud of myself for doing that and I'm so proud of just letting myself have a day because my team and I did a great thing and you had to take time to.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: Rest in joy.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll tell you more about what I'm doing to rest in joy at the work that we did next week.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: So stay tuned.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: Before I let you go, we actually have an affirmation for you.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: So let's pull it up.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I celebrate the good qualities and others and myself.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: I celebrate the good qualities and others and myself.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: I still break the good qualities and others in myself and my goodness, my love, I hope you really emphasize the myself.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: You have a lot of good qualities.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: You've so many.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you take the time to reflect on what those are today.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, though the friend who needs to hear it, maybe send it to them and say, here are the good qualities that you have in you that I've often don't tell you about, but here they are.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: It really does make people feel really good about themselves.
