Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Of Mitch mccannon's with us live from the States. Tom Mitch,
- 0:04Speaker 1: good morning.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Good morning, Bridgie.
- 0:07Speaker 3: How are you.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I'm good, thank you? And has she when is she
- 0:11Speaker 1: going to announce her running mate? Is it in the
- 0:13Speaker 1: coming days or will it be in the coming weeks.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's in the coming day. So the race for running
- 0:17Speaker 2: mate is nearing a conclusion. According to the Harris campaign,
- 0:21Speaker 2: they've revealed that the presidential candidate's going to hold her
- 0:24Speaker 2: first rally alongside her VP pick next Tuesday, like all time,
- 0:28Speaker 2: so Wednesday morning in New Zealand, and it's going to
- 0:30Speaker 2: be in Philadelphia. Now, there's some top contenders in this
- 0:34Speaker 2: race still, the Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly,
- 0:39Speaker 2: a governor from Minnesota, and the Secretary of Transportation beat
- 0:42Speaker 2: Pete Boodages. Now, this rally is taking place in Pennsylvania,
- 0:46Speaker 2: but the campaign says, don't buy into that. It doesn't
- 0:49Speaker 2: mean it's going to be Josh Shapiro the governor. They
- 0:51Speaker 2: insist no campaign decision has been made. And just while
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm with you, Bridgie, there's new polling that's just come
- 0:57Speaker 2: out in the last few hours for Kamala Harris. That's
- 1:00Speaker 2: she has erased Donald Trump's lead and the number of
- 1:03Speaker 2: swing states. So now she's winning in Michigan, Nevada, Arizona,
- 1:07Speaker 2: and Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. North Carolina as still Trump, and
- 1:11Speaker 2: they're tied in Georgia. So this is a big comeback
- 1:14Speaker 2: in the Democrats.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It is a massive comeback, although you could argue still
- 1:18Speaker 1: a honeymoon phase for her. And when I was looking
- 1:21Speaker 1: much as I'm sure you have been, two at the
- 1:23Speaker 1: biggest issues that voters are voting on. Number one is
- 1:26Speaker 1: the economy. You'd have to say that that would be
- 1:29Speaker 1: Trump's number two immigration, Trump's number three abortion is hers.
- 1:33Speaker 1: But on those big issues, he's got the edge over her,
- 1:36Speaker 1: doesn't he.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yes. Well, they've been attacking the Biden administration over immigration
- 1:41Speaker 2: for a very long time now. Around ten million immigrants
- 1:44Speaker 2: have come into this country reportedly illegally in the last
- 1:47Speaker 2: three or so years. They are accusing her of being
- 1:51Speaker 2: Joe Biden's border czar, the person that was really overseeing
- 1:54Speaker 2: this for the administration. So they'll put new videos out
- 1:57Speaker 2: in the last forty eight hours accusing her of being
- 2:00Speaker 2: the reason there are so many illegal immigrants in this country.
- 2:02Speaker 2: So I think that's something we're likely to see in
- 2:04Speaker 2: the coming months and in any debate if that actually happens.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Mitch, thank you. That is much McCann with us Stateside.
