- 0:36Speaker 1: And thanks again for coming out today. I like to
- 0:39Speaker 1: start with something funny, and I heard about these three
- 0:42Speaker 1: men that were traveling together. It was a Hindu priest,
- 0:45Speaker 1: a Jewish rabbi, and a televangelist. They stopped at a
- 0:49Speaker 1: farmhouse for lodging. The farmer said, I only have room
- 0:53Speaker 1: for two of you in the house. Somebody will have
- 0:55Speaker 1: to stay in the barn. The Hindu priest said, I'll
- 0:57Speaker 1: do it. A few minutes, there was a knock on
- 0:59Speaker 1: the door. He said, I can't stay out there. There's
- 1:02Speaker 1: a cow, and cows are sacred in our religion. The
- 1:05Speaker 1: Jewish rabbi said, I'll do it. A few minutes later,
- 1:08Speaker 1: a knock on the door said, I can't stay out there.
- 1:10Speaker 1: There's a pig that wouldn't be kosher. The televangelist finally said,
- 1:15Speaker 1: all right, I'll do it. In a few minutes, there
- 1:17Speaker 1: was a knock on the door. It was the cow
- 1:19Speaker 1: and the pig. I'm the only one that got it.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Here we go. Ready? This is my Bible. I am
- 1:26Speaker 1: what it says I am. I have what it says
- 1:28Speaker 1: I have. I can do what it says I can do. Today,
- 1:31Speaker 1: I will be taught the word of God. I boldly
- 1:34Speaker 1: confess my mind is alert. My heart is receptive. I
- 1:39Speaker 1: will never be the same in Jesus name. God bless you.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I want to talk to you today about trouble is temporary.
- 1:48Speaker 1: We all face difficulties that don't look like they'll ever change.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Seems like the more we pray, the worse it gets.
- 1:55Speaker 1: We don't see any sign of things improving. It's easy
- 1:58Speaker 1: to live discouraged and accept that it's not meant to be.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But Paul said in 2 Corinthians, our present troubles are
- 2:06Speaker 1: small and won't last very long. These troubles will soon
- 2:11Speaker 1: be over, but the joy to come will last forever.
- 2:15Speaker 1: What you're up against may look permanent, Seems like it's
- 2:18Speaker 1: going to take years to get well years to get
- 2:21Speaker 1: out of debt years to meet the right person Don't
- 2:24Speaker 1: be fooled by what you see god is saying the
- 2:27Speaker 1: trouble is only temporary It's not going to last very
- 2:31Speaker 1: long soon. It's going to be over Soon you're going
- 2:35Speaker 1: to see the breakthrough. Soon your health is going to
- 2:37Speaker 1: turn around. Soon you're going to meet the person of
- 2:40Speaker 1: your dreams. You may not see how this can happen.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Everything in your reasoning says it's not possible. You're looking
- 2:48Speaker 1: at it in the natural. We serve a supernatural God.
- 2:51Speaker 1: He can make things happen that you can't make happen.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And instead of thinking of all the reasons why it's
- 2:57Speaker 1: not going to work out, how it's going to take forever,
- 3:00Speaker 1: try a different approach. Father, thank you that this difficulty
- 3:04Speaker 1: will soon be over. Thank you that this sickness, this depression,
- 3:08Speaker 1: this family problem will not last very long. Joel, it's
- 3:13Speaker 1: already been a long time. That means you are very
- 3:16Speaker 1: close to seeing it turn around. You're on the verge
- 3:19Speaker 1: of a breakthrough. You're about to see freedom, promotion, problems
- 3:24Speaker 1: suddenly resolve, dreams suddenly come to pass. Not in the
- 3:28Speaker 1: sweet by and by, but soon things are going to change.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Soon that child is going to get back on course.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Soon that new door is going to open. Soon the
- 3:38Speaker 1: right person is going to show up. Soon you're going
- 3:41Speaker 1: to come into overflow. Now you have to get in
- 3:44Speaker 1: agreement with God and have a soon mentality. As long
- 3:48Speaker 1: as you think it's going to take years, that's going
- 3:51Speaker 1: to stop God from working. When you have this soon mentality,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you get up each morning with expectancy, knowing that this
- 3:58Speaker 1: could be the day that God shows out in your life.
- 4:02Speaker 1: When is your health going to turn around? I don't know, Joel.
- 4:05Speaker 1: This medical report doesn't look very good at all. That's
- 4:08Speaker 1: one report. I'm giving you another report. Soon things are
- 4:12Speaker 1: going to change in your favor. When are you going
- 4:14Speaker 1: to get out of debt? It looks like it's going
- 4:17Speaker 1: to take me 112 years to pay everything off. You're
- 4:20Speaker 1: going to be in heaven by then. How about soon
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm coming out of debt? Soon I'm going to lend
- 4:25Speaker 1: and not borrow. How can that happen? God owns it all.
- 4:30Speaker 1: One touch of his favor and you'll have more than enough.
- 4:33Speaker 1: One good break, one idea, one contract and everything will change.
- 4:38Speaker 1: When are you going to overcome that addiction? Soon. When
- 4:42Speaker 1: are you going to meet the right person? Soon. When
- 4:44Speaker 1: is that legal issue going to resolve? Soon. When are
- 4:48Speaker 1: you going to sell that property? Soon. When are you
- 4:51Speaker 1: going to start your business? Soon. Your mind will tell
- 4:54Speaker 1: you all the reasons it's not going to happen. Your
- 4:57Speaker 1: problem's too big. The people that you're up against are
- 5:00Speaker 1: too powerful. It's been that way too long. Don't believe
- 5:04Speaker 1: those lies. Receive this into your spirit. The problem will
- 5:08Speaker 1: soon be over. The loneliness will soon be gone. The anxiety,
- 5:13Speaker 1: the grief, the barrenness, not able to have a child
- 5:17Speaker 1: is coming to an end soon. These present troubles will
- 5:21Speaker 1: not last very long. Job went through a great difficulty.
- 5:26Speaker 1: He was doing the right thing, honoring God, and the
- 5:29Speaker 1: bottom fell out. He lost his business, lost his children,
- 5:33Speaker 1: lost his health. He had boils all over his body.
- 5:36Speaker 1: And just because we're people of faith doesn't mean we
- 5:40Speaker 1: won't have difficulties. You can be doing the right thing
- 5:44Speaker 1: and come into trouble. The scripture says, rain falls on
- 5:47Speaker 1: the just and the unjust. When it rains at my house,
- 5:52Speaker 1: my property gets wet. my next door neighbors, people across
- 5:56Speaker 1: the street, everyone in the neighborhood. The rain doesn't discriminate.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Don't get discouraged by difficulties. It's just life. The promise
- 6:05Speaker 1: we have is not that trouble won't come, but the
- 6:08Speaker 1: trouble is not going to last. Soon the trouble will
- 6:12Speaker 1: be over. When you're in difficulties, things happen like with
- 6:16Speaker 1: Job that you don't understand. He came down with an illness.
- 6:20Speaker 1: People at work turned on you. You had a setback
- 6:23Speaker 1: in your business. It's easy to live worried, thinking that
- 6:26Speaker 1: it's never going to work out. You have to remind
- 6:29Speaker 1: yourself it is not permanent. It is not going to
- 6:33Speaker 1: last long. Soon it will resolve. All through the day,
- 6:37Speaker 1: you need to keep this in your heart. Father, thank
- 6:39Speaker 1: you that this trouble is only temporary, that it didn't
- 6:43Speaker 1: come to stay, it came to pass. Thank you that
- 6:45Speaker 1: it will soon be over. When Job looked at all
- 6:49Speaker 1: his circumstances, everything that went wrong, all that he had lost,
- 6:53Speaker 1: he got depressed. He sat down in the ashes and
- 6:57Speaker 1: wanted to die. One reason he was so discouraged is
- 7:01Speaker 1: he saw the trouble as permanent. He didn't see any
- 7:05Speaker 1: way he could get out. As long as he had
- 7:07Speaker 1: this forever mentality, this is how my life is always
- 7:11Speaker 1: going to be, he felt overwhelmed. When you have a setback,
- 7:15Speaker 1: thoughts will tell you it's permanent. You'll never get well.
- 7:18Speaker 1: You'll never be happy again. You'll never meet someone. If
- 7:22Speaker 1: you believe those forever lies, you'll get discouraged and lose
- 7:26Speaker 1: your passion. But God won't let you get in a
- 7:29Speaker 1: situation that he can't bring you out of. If the
- 7:33Speaker 1: trouble was too much, the sickness too great, the opposition
- 7:37Speaker 1: too strong, he wouldn't have allowed it. It's a test.
- 7:41Speaker 1: What are you going to do? Get discouraged, give up
- 7:44Speaker 1: on dreams, live defeated, or are you going to believe
- 7:48Speaker 1: that God is on the throne, that he's bigger than
- 7:51Speaker 1: what you're facing, that the trouble is temporary, that it's
- 7:54Speaker 1: not going to last long? What you believe in times
- 7:58Speaker 1: of trouble will determine whether you come out or whether
- 8:01Speaker 1: you get stuck there. And at one point, Job changed
- 8:05Speaker 1: his attitude. Instead of sitting around defeated, he got up
- 8:09Speaker 1: out of the ashes, looked up toward the heavens and said,
- 8:13Speaker 1: I know my redeemer lives. He was saying, I know
- 8:17Speaker 1: God is still on the throne. I know this difficulty
- 8:20Speaker 1: can't stop my destiny. What he has purposed for my
- 8:24Speaker 1: life will come to pass. He shifted to an attitude
- 8:28Speaker 1: of faith. God let us see both sides of Job,
- 8:31Speaker 1: him discouraged, despondent, then him switching over to faith to
- 8:36Speaker 1: let us know it's okay to feel things. It's okay
- 8:40Speaker 1: to have times when you feel discouraged. You don't see
- 8:43Speaker 1: how it can work out. It's okay to start there,
- 8:46Speaker 1: but don't finish there. Don't stay in the ashes. Don't
- 8:50Speaker 1: stay defeated. At some point, you have to do like
- 8:54Speaker 1: Job and say, I know my Redeemer lives. I know
- 8:58Speaker 1: God didn't bring me this far to leave me. I
- 9:00Speaker 1: know this problem is not permanent. Lord, thank you that
- 9:04Speaker 1: it will soon be over. Do you know what that
- 9:07Speaker 1: does to the enemy? When he hits you with his
- 9:10Speaker 1: best shot, but you don't start complaining, you don't stay
- 9:13Speaker 1: in the ashes, you start declaring, soon it's going to
- 9:17Speaker 1: turn around. Soon I'm gonna get well. Soon I'm gonna
- 9:20Speaker 1: meet someone new. Soon my business is going to take off.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Soon I'm gonna laugh again, love again, lead again, run again.
- 9:29Speaker 1: When you live with this soon mentality, all the forces
- 9:33Speaker 1: of darkness cannot keep you down. Job's situation looked permanent,
- 9:38Speaker 1: looked like he had seen his best days, but God
- 9:41Speaker 1: not only turned it around, but Job came out with
- 9:44Speaker 1: twice what he had before. The scripture says he had
- 9:47Speaker 1: twice the cattle, twice the sheep. He got his business back.
- 9:51Speaker 1: God never brings you out the same. He makes the
- 9:54Speaker 1: enemy pay for bringing the trouble. We hear a lot
- 9:58Speaker 1: about the suffering of Job all that he went through.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Seems like that was his whole life. The entire book
- 10:04Speaker 1: of Job is about his struggle. You would think it
- 10:07Speaker 1: went on for 40 years, trouble, heartache, pain, but some
- 10:11Speaker 1: commentaries believe the whole struggle was only nine months. All
- 10:16Speaker 1: the sickness, all the trouble didn't last years, it was months.
- 10:29Speaker 1: What you think is going to take years, what looks
- 10:32Speaker 1: like it's going to be a long time to resolve,
- 10:35Speaker 1: like with Job, it's going to happen sooner than you think.
- 10:39Speaker 1: That trouble looks permanent, but God is saying it's not
- 10:43Speaker 1: going to last very long. You're about to see his
- 10:46Speaker 1: hand bring healing, restoration, divine connections, promotion. It's not by
- 10:52Speaker 1: your might, not by your power, but by the spirit
- 10:55Speaker 1: of the living God. 2003, the Houston City Council voted
- 11:01Speaker 1: for us to have the compact center. This was a
- 11:04Speaker 1: city owned building. We had worked for two years presenting
- 11:08Speaker 1: our case and trying to convince council members. When we
- 11:11Speaker 1: won the vote, we were so excited. It was like
- 11:14Speaker 1: God opened a door that we never dreamed would open.
- 11:18Speaker 1: The next day, a company that owns all the high
- 11:21Speaker 1: rises around this property filed a federal lawsuit to try
- 11:25Speaker 1: to keep us from moving in. They were the largest
- 11:28Speaker 1: taxpayer in Texas, a huge real estate company with property
- 11:33Speaker 1: all over the state. It was like David versus Goliath.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Our attorneys told us that it could be tied up
- 11:40Speaker 1: in the courts for 10 years. How these kinds of
- 11:43Speaker 1: legal proceedings can be extremely slow. That meant we couldn't
- 11:47Speaker 1: move in. We couldn't start our renovations. Our future concerning
- 11:51Speaker 1: this building was on hold. The problem was I had
- 11:55Speaker 1: already presented the compact center to the church. People had
- 11:59Speaker 1: already given to support it. Everyone was excited, asking when
- 12:03Speaker 1: are we moving in? I would wake up in the
- 12:06Speaker 1: middle of the night in a cold sweat, thoughts telling me,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you're gonna look like a fool. What are you gonna
- 12:13Speaker 1: do if you don't win the lawsuit? I was tempted
- 12:16Speaker 1: to live worried, stressed, but I did what I'm asking
- 12:20Speaker 1: you to do. Despite what the experts were saying, despite
- 12:24Speaker 1: how permanent it looked, I said, Father, I want to
- 12:27Speaker 1: thank you that this trouble is only temporary, that it
- 12:31Speaker 1: won't last very long. Lord, I know you're working behind
- 12:35Speaker 1: the scenes, fighting our battles, making our crooked places straight,
- 12:39Speaker 1: shining down your favor on us. I would check with
- 12:43Speaker 1: the attorneys every week looking for some sign of hope.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Is there anything new? Nothing. We haven't heard from them.
- 12:51Speaker 1: They didn't want to negotiate. They were going to sit
- 12:54Speaker 1: back and wait, drag it out for years until we
- 12:57Speaker 1: had to do something else. And I could hear that promise,
- 13:01Speaker 1: that still small voice saying, Joel, trust me, this trouble
- 13:05Speaker 1: is only temporary. Soon it will be over. But my
- 13:08Speaker 1: mind would say, are you kidding? Nothing is improving. You're
- 13:13Speaker 1: years away from even finding out if it's going to
- 13:16Speaker 1: be yours. The battle is taking place in our thinking.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Don't accept the lies that it's permanent. It's going to
- 13:23Speaker 1: take a long, long time. You have to turn it
- 13:26Speaker 1: around and say, Father, thank you that this will resolve
- 13:29Speaker 1: sooner than it looks. About eight months after the lawsuit
- 13:33Speaker 1: was filed, we received a call from the other side
- 13:37Speaker 1: saying they wanted to meet. I was excited. I believed
- 13:41Speaker 1: it was the hand of God. Our attorneys were more skeptical.
- 13:45Speaker 1: They said it was a ploy. They were just trying
- 13:47Speaker 1: to complicate things. We met with them. Not only did
- 13:52Speaker 1: they agree to let us have this building, but to
- 13:55Speaker 1: lease us 9,000 covered parking spaces. They dropped the lawsuit.
- 14:01Speaker 1: The facility was ours, free and clear. What looked like
- 14:05Speaker 1: would take years to happen took place in a few months.
- 14:09Speaker 1: God is saying to you, what you're up against is
- 14:13Speaker 1: going to resolve much sooner than it looks. That trouble
- 14:17Speaker 1: is not going to last long. That addiction is not
- 14:20Speaker 1: going to hinder you your whole life. The sickness, depression,
- 14:24Speaker 1: anxiety is not going to stop your destiny. Soon it's
- 14:28Speaker 1: going to be over. Not years, but months. Why don't
- 14:32Speaker 1: you get in agreement with God? You may not see how.
- 14:36Speaker 1: The giant looks too big. The sickness too great. The
- 14:39Speaker 1: opposition too strong. You're not in this by yourself. The
- 14:43Speaker 1: Most High God is fighting for you. He knows how
- 14:47Speaker 1: to move people out of the way. He can do
- 14:49Speaker 1: what medicine cannot do. He can restore what's been stolen.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Sooner than later, you're going to see the hand of
- 14:57Speaker 1: God making things happen that you couldn't make happen, opening
- 15:01Speaker 1: doors that no person can shut, turning situations around that
- 15:05Speaker 1: look impossible. But it's easy to live with this forever mindset.
- 15:10Speaker 1: It's never going to work out. or maybe years down
- 15:13Speaker 1: the road, maybe one day, Joel, I'll get a good break,
- 15:17Speaker 1: switch over to a soon mentality. Now, I know some
- 15:20Speaker 1: things take time, but God promises us in this verse,
- 15:24Speaker 1: soon the trouble will be over. He's about to do
- 15:28Speaker 1: something out of a normal timeframe, something unusual sooner than
- 15:33Speaker 1: you think. Well, what if I believe and this doesn't happen?
- 15:37Speaker 1: What if you believe and it does happen? It probably
- 15:41Speaker 1: won't happen if you've already accepted it's going to be
- 15:44Speaker 1: a long time to get out of this trouble, a
- 15:47Speaker 1: long time to get well, to meet the right person,
- 15:50Speaker 1: to accomplish that dream. That's limiting what God will do.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'm asking you to believe for sooner than later. Even
- 15:59Speaker 1: if it doesn't happen as soon as you like. Yes,
- 16:01Speaker 1: we all have to wait, but I've made up my mind.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna live with the soon mentality. I'm gonna keep
- 16:07Speaker 1: releasing my faith, reminding God what he promised, that this
- 16:11Speaker 1: difficulty will soon be over. There are 42 chapters in
- 16:16Speaker 1: the book of Job. All 42 talk about what he
- 16:20Speaker 1: went through. Seems like this struggle with his whole life.
- 16:24Speaker 1: But the last two verses of the book of Job
- 16:27Speaker 1: are very significant. After describing the trouble, the heartache, the
- 16:32Speaker 1: loss for 42 chapters, the last thing written says, after this,
- 16:38Speaker 1: Job lived 140 years and saw his children and grandchildren
- 16:43Speaker 1: for four generations. Then he died an old man having
- 16:48Speaker 1: lived a long, good life. Job's struggle was approximately nine months,
- 16:54Speaker 1: but after that struggle, he lived 140 good years, happy years,
- 17:00Speaker 1: healthy years, years where he enjoyed his children, years where
- 17:04Speaker 1: there was great joy and laughter in his house. God
- 17:08Speaker 1: was showing us the trouble is temporary. The trouble is
- 17:12Speaker 1: not going to last forever. You may be in a
- 17:16Speaker 1: difficult time, but that's not how your story ends. That
- 17:20Speaker 1: loss is not going to define you. That sickness is
- 17:24Speaker 1: not going to ruin the rest of your life. That
- 17:26Speaker 1: person that walked away, the bad break, the unfair situation
- 17:31Speaker 1: is not going to stop your purpose. God has an
- 17:34Speaker 1: after this for you. After the trouble, there's going to
- 17:39Speaker 1: be great joy in your life. After the loss, after
- 17:43Speaker 1: the sickness, after the legal battle, you're going to see
- 17:46Speaker 1: new friendships, new opportunities, new growth. Don't be discouraged by
- 17:50Speaker 1: the trouble. It's not stopping anything God has for you.
- 17:55Speaker 1: God is storing up all the joy, all the good breaks,
- 17:59Speaker 1: the favor, the resources that have been put on hold
- 18:03Speaker 1: because of this temporary trouble. You're not losing anything. What
- 18:07Speaker 1: belongs to you is still coming your way. Your latter
- 18:11Speaker 1: days will be better than your former days. Your story
- 18:16Speaker 1: doesn't end in Doesn't end in failure, injustice, sorrow. Those
- 18:22Speaker 1: are temporary seasons. Your story ends in victory. God has
- 18:27Speaker 1: already lined up an after this for you. He said
- 18:30Speaker 1: what was meant for your harm, he's turning to your advantage.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Even now, God is turning some things. He's turning the trouble.
- 18:38Speaker 1: turning the sickness, turning the people that are against you.
- 18:42Speaker 1: You're about to step in to an advantage, step into
- 18:45Speaker 1: favor that God has already lined up for you. When
- 18:50Speaker 1: we walked into that meeting, the CEO of the company
- 18:54Speaker 1: had already changed his mind. God had already turned his heart.
- 18:58Speaker 1: He was against us, but no person can stand against
- 19:02Speaker 1: our God. No bad break, no sickness, no trouble. God
- 19:06Speaker 1: controls the universe. He said, weeping may endure for a night,
- 19:12Speaker 1: but joy is coming in the morning. You may be
- 19:15Speaker 1: in a night season. Can I encourage you? It's temporary.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Joy is on the way. God is going to turn
- 19:22Speaker 1: your mourning into dancing your sorrow into joy What's holding
- 19:27Speaker 1: you back is not going to last much longer soon.
- 19:30Speaker 1: It will be over One time I was flying to
- 19:34Speaker 1: India with my father. It was a 15-hour flight. Everything
- 19:38Speaker 1: was going fine, cruising along very smoothly. But about 12
- 19:42Speaker 1: hours in, the plane hit this turbulence and started bouncing
- 19:46Speaker 1: around like a roller coaster, up and down. Everything started flying,
- 19:51Speaker 1: laptops hitting the ceiling. Some of the flight attendants had
- 19:55Speaker 1: gone up in the air, landed on top of other passengers.
- 19:59Speaker 1: People were screaming, panicking. For about 10 minutes, it was chaos.
- 20:04Speaker 1: You had to hold on for dear life. Eventually it
- 20:06Speaker 1: all calmed down Thankfully, nobody was injured went back to
- 20:10Speaker 1: smooth sailing the last several hours were as peaceful as
- 20:14Speaker 1: can be This is how it is in life. We're
- 20:18Speaker 1: going along fine Everyone is healthy. We're getting good breaks
- 20:23Speaker 1: then we hit some turbulence an unexpected challenge a sickness
- 20:27Speaker 1: a layoff a friend betrays you you didn't see it
- 20:30Speaker 1: coming and It's easy to panic god what's happening? Can
- 20:35Speaker 1: I encourage you? It's just a part of your 10
- 20:38Speaker 1: minutes of turbulence It's not going to last it may
- 20:41Speaker 1: be chaotic feel stressful, but it's going to calm down
- 20:46Speaker 1: There's going to be an after this for you after
- 20:49Speaker 1: the turbulence. You're going to come out just fine I've
- 20:53Speaker 1: discovered we're all going to have about 10 minutes of
- 20:56Speaker 1: turbulence Not at once but a minute here a minute
- 21:00Speaker 1: there Our mind will tell us it's permanent. I'll never
- 21:04Speaker 1: get through this difficulty. It's bumpier than I've ever felt.
- 21:08Speaker 1: God is still in control. He's not only flying your plane,
- 21:12Speaker 1: but he controls the weather. He speaks to storms and
- 21:16Speaker 1: they calm down. A friend of mine recently lost his job.
- 21:20Speaker 1: He'd been there for many years and wasn't about his performance.
- 21:24Speaker 1: They just didn't have the funds to pay him. He
- 21:27Speaker 1: was tempted to panic, be upset. I told him what
- 21:30Speaker 1: i'm telling you. This is not how your story ends
- 21:34Speaker 1: The trouble is going to pass and the rest of
- 21:37Speaker 1: your flight is going to be smooth God has it
- 21:40Speaker 1: already figured out. There's another position already lined up has
- 21:44Speaker 1: your name on it If you'll stay in faith and
- 21:47Speaker 1: keep being your best you're going to come in to
- 21:50Speaker 1: your after this You'll say after the layoff. I got
- 21:54Speaker 1: a better position After they walked away, I met someone better.
- 21:58Speaker 1: After the sickness, I came out stronger. What's interesting is
- 22:03Speaker 1: that 10 minutes of turbulence felt like 10 hours to me.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I was sweating, holding on for dear life, praying the
- 22:11Speaker 1: sinner's prayer 42 times. God, please forgive me. I'm about
- 22:14Speaker 1: to come see you. I was afraid and stressed out.
- 22:19Speaker 1: If I had known it was temporary, I would have
- 22:21Speaker 1: enjoyed the ride. pay a lot of money to go
- 22:24Speaker 1: to Disneyland to ride a ride like that. If I
- 22:27Speaker 1: had known it wasn't going to last very long, if
- 22:31Speaker 1: I had known everything was going to be all right,
- 22:34Speaker 1: I would have stayed in peace. Said, Lord, thank you.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I know this too shall pass. I know this temporary
- 22:40Speaker 1: problem is not going to stop your plan for my life.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I could have relaxed and saved myself a lot of
- 22:47Speaker 1: heartache if I had only remembered the trouble was temporary.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Maybe you're in part of your 10 minutes of turbulence now.
- 22:56Speaker 1: It feels like it's going to be 10 years. You're worried,
- 23:00Speaker 1: losing sleep, trying to figure it all out. Come back
- 23:03Speaker 1: to a place of peace. It's not permanent. Things are
- 23:07Speaker 1: going to work out. God is going to get you
- 23:10Speaker 1: to your destiny. You may not see how. The winds
- 23:14Speaker 1: are strong. The plane is bouncing around. God controls the winds.
- 23:19Speaker 1: That cancer is not bigger than our God. That breakup
- 23:23Speaker 1: didn't stop your purpose. The trouble at work is not
- 23:26Speaker 1: going to last. God is behind the scenes right now
- 23:30Speaker 1: working in your life. Your time is coming. It's going
- 23:33Speaker 1: to happen sooner than you think. In the book of Genesis,
- 23:37Speaker 1: God told Noah that there was going to be a
- 23:40Speaker 1: great flood. He was to build an ark, a huge boat,
- 23:44Speaker 1: take two of every kind of animal on it. While
- 23:47Speaker 1: he was building, I'm sure people made fun of him. Thought,
- 23:51Speaker 1: what's this crazy man doing? There's no water around here.
- 23:55Speaker 1: At that time, it had never rained. The dew came
- 23:58Speaker 1: up from the ground and watered the earth. You can
- 24:01Speaker 1: imagine how odd that seemed. But the scripture says Noah
- 24:05Speaker 1: did exactly what God asked him to do. He was obedient.
- 24:11Speaker 1: The rain came for 40 days. The whole earth was flooded.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Noah and his family were on the boat. Months and
- 24:18Speaker 1: months went by. Noah didn't know he was going to
- 24:21Speaker 1: be like that the rest of his life. He sent
- 24:24Speaker 1: a bird out to see if the waters were receding,
- 24:27Speaker 1: but the bird came back. It couldn't land. This happened
- 24:30Speaker 1: again and again. It looked like this was permanent, but
- 24:34Speaker 1: chapter eight says God remembered Noah. He sent a wind
- 24:39Speaker 1: to blow across the waters and the floods begin to disappear.
- 24:44Speaker 1: God remembers your faithfulness. He remembers your obedience. The times
- 24:49Speaker 1: like Noah, you did the right thing when it was hard.
- 24:52Speaker 1: You kept giving, serving, being good to people, not seeing
- 24:56Speaker 1: anything change. Nothing was getting better. Don't worry, your time
- 25:01Speaker 1: is coming. God sent a wind and the waters began
- 25:04Speaker 1: to disappear. A year later, Noah and his family were
- 25:08Speaker 1: able to get off the boat. I believe like with him,
- 25:12Speaker 1: God is about to breathe on your life and problems
- 25:16Speaker 1: that look permanent are about to disappear. That sickness you've
- 25:20Speaker 1: been dealing with, the child you're so concerned about, the
- 25:24Speaker 1: trouble at work that's hindering you, by faith, I can
- 25:28Speaker 1: see the wind of God's spirit causing it to disappear.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Addictions disappearing, depression disappearing, lack, not having enough, disappearing. This
- 25:39Speaker 1: is a new day. God is breathing his favor, his blessing,
- 25:44Speaker 1: his healing on your life right now. The next verse
- 25:48Speaker 1: says the underground water sources ceased their gushing. The torrential
- 25:53Speaker 1: rain stopped flowing. There are things that you can't see.
- 25:58Speaker 1: They're underground, so to speak. They're about to cease in
- 26:01Speaker 1: your life. God is going to cut off the source
- 26:04Speaker 1: of what's limiting you, the source of what's holding you back.
- 26:08Speaker 1: The sickness is about to cease. The addiction is about
- 26:11Speaker 1: to cease. The trouble is about to cease. When those
- 26:15Speaker 1: waters ceased, it took a few months before Noah and
- 26:19Speaker 1: his family could come off the boat. You may not
- 26:22Speaker 1: see anything happening yet, but that doesn't mean things haven't changed.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It's just a matter of time before you see what
- 26:29Speaker 1: God was up to. Now keep the right perspective. The
- 26:33Speaker 1: trouble is temporary. It's not going to last as long
- 26:37Speaker 1: as it looks. Live with this soon mentality. Not it's
- 26:40Speaker 1: way off in the future. Soon things are going to
- 26:43Speaker 1: change in my favor. If you'll do this, I believe
- 26:47Speaker 1: and declare healing is coming. Freedom is coming. Breakthroughs are coming.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Soon you're going to get well. Soon you're going to
- 26:54Speaker 1: meet the right person. Soon that problem's going to turn around.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Soon you're going to see God's favor in new ways.
- 27:01Speaker 1: In Jesus' name, if you receive it, can you say
- 27:04Speaker 1: amen today? I'd like to give you an opportunity to
- 27:09Speaker 1: make Jesus the Lord of your life. Would you pray
- 27:12Speaker 1: with me? Just say, Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Come into my heart. I make you my Lord and Savior.
