Ozzy Osbourne actually had a an extremely personal impact on my

existence as well as my philosophy, and many of you may

not know that whenever I was younger, I loved Ozzy Osbourne

T-shirts. I went to a couple churches

actually wearing a shirt called The Blizzard of Oz, and the

album cover has Ozzy basically sitting down in the middle of

the room with light coming through a window.

Depending on which interpretation the cover you

got, he's wearing like a white and red robe and he's holding up

a cross. And I always assumed by looking

at that that that meant that he was Christian because he held

the cross up. And also I enjoyed the album

with Randy Rhodes that had Crazy Train, Mother Revelation.

And I Don't Know is one of the songs.

And great album. Randy Rhodes was obviously

legendary. He's one of the greatest guitar

Well, how did I get into Ozzy Osbourne?

And then we'll get into how he impacted me because of his music

and because of his persona. I was pointing out that I

actually went into some churches with his shirt and I remember a

lot of Christians. This is when I was younger and I

was silly. I wasn't into wearing suits or

anything like that. And I was actually told that I

need to leave the premises of a church because of the Ozzy

Osbourne T-shirt. And I remember I came up with my

first philosophical biblical argument and I said, you know,

God created us and he loves us for who we are.

He doesn't care what we're wearing.

And to follow it up, I said Adam and Eve were born into the world

naked. So perhaps wearing clothes is

not actually what God intended for us.

I mean, really, if you think about it, the only reason we

truly wear any kind of clothes is to keep ourselves warm.

And also for people who have disgusting, nasty bodies.

I get you. But as far as Christianity goes,

God doesn't make junk, you know? He designed us all beautiful and

as intended. It's what we put in our mouths

are. Well, when I was a little boy, I

started getting interested in music because my father, before

my mother and father divorced, he had this like dresser filled

with cassette tapes and I remember looking through it.

He had such albums like Journey. Pink Floyd, loved Pink Floyd.

Right off the bat. The reason why I liked Pink

Floyd was immediately upon turning on Dark Side of the Moon

and the Wall, you hear all these wicked weird noises and they're

going through your headphones or blasting on the stereo system.

Fantastic, weird stuff. But among his collection of

Scorpions, Journey, Led Zeppelin and all that was also Black

Sabbath. Now, funny enough, when I

started listening to it, and obviously right off the bat you

hear War Pigs and you get Paranoid and Iron Man, all these

tracks, I didn't know that, that I didn't know who the people

were in Black Sabbath. It wasn't until years later

whenever I started listening to Ozzy Osbourne go solo where I

was like, and then seen some interviews where it's like,

yeah, he used to be the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath.

And then they replaced him with Deal, which is another

beautiful, talented, creative vocalist who had a very

powerful, authoritative voice. Unfortunately, he died as well.

But I I think that people can clearly tell that there was a

big difference between Black Sabbath with Ozzy than there was

with Deal. Believe it or not, I believe

Ozzy, besides his behavior, I think that he got put out of

Black Sabbath because they were looking for a more meteor

angrier type of singer is where Ozzy Osbourne was very octave

oriented. But I think that, I mean, what

was it that they got on to him for?

They were just looking for something a little stronger I

guess. And plus, the band was having

some kind of issues. I don't know the whole deal.

There's not one band that I love that doesn't hate each other

behind the scenes or have some kind of issue.

So I'm listening to Black Sabbath, I grow up, I have the

church experience. It caused me to do some

questioning. And then there were people out

there who said that Ozzy Osbourne was of the devil, that

he bites the heads off bats and birds.

And I ended up looking into that and doing some research.

I found out that he was being silly, probably high off of his

ass and not thinking too well about it, and did actually bite

into a creature. But according to Ozzy, he

thought that the bat was fake, that somebody had thrown up like

some kind of fake like rubber thing, and he was just showing

off. He's a performance artist, so he

likes to, you know, do controversial, crazy stuff in

order to get attention and add to his his music and what he's

doing in concerts. So I get it.

He said that was a horrible experience because he ended up,

I think, getting rabies and having to have several shots put

into his stomach back then. I don't know if they ever, to be

honest, but they never really looked this up.

I probably should, but I don't know if they ever came up with a

a more pleasant way of curing rabies or if they can't even

cure it. But that was pretty horrible for

People were making accusations about Ozzie, that he was of the

devil, that he was a Satan worshipper.

They said that if you played his records backwards, they would

talk to you and all that, and the Devil demons would speak

churches would tell me this whenever I was a kid.

They said don't listen to this guy or Alice Cooper or bands

though, during this time, whenever I was a kid, well, when

I heard this, I was blown away. I was like, really?

Well, for me, I was a very curious little bastard.

looked through his C DS and I remember the first album a solo

wise besides the Randy Rhodes and all that Crazy Train.

The first album that was really artistic that I noticed by him

because if you go back to Black Sabbath all the covers were

black and dark and all that and there was definitely some

religious undertones. But this specific album was

called The Ultimate Sin, and it had Ozzy looking like a big ass

dragon with flames around him like he was in hell.

And I'm like, wow, you know, this is going to be extremely

evil. Obviously, I wasn't going to be

able to get the same kind of groove that the Christians were

accusing him of, though, because they weren't selling records at

this point. They made their way over into

cassette tapes and well, they were just starting to transition

So I went ahead and I bought it. I realized there was no way I

was going to be able to turn the CD backwards or anything like

that, but I wanted to hear. I figured if there were demons

in it, I'd hear it no matter what direction I play the CD.

And I got home and I played That Son of a Bitch and my goodness,

that song, The Ultimate Sin breaks out.

Boom, it's the ultimate sin. And then the song Secret Loser,

which I later found that was in a movie called the Wraith with

Charlie seen where he plays an undead coming back in this like

really bad ass futuristic car and basically killing the people

that killed him. It was a lot like a weak version

of the Crow. It was AB rate movie that had

the same kind of formula as the Crow.

Man comes back because he loves a woman and he haunts the people

who who took his life. So yeah, there's actually a film

out there that is exactly like The Crow, but without the makeup

So I listened to Ozzy Osbourne and then I went out and after

listening to the the CDI, couldn't get enough of them.

He ends up releasing No Rest for the Wicked.

Then I Found a Bark at the Moon. Then he releases later on a

And then he came out with Osmosis, which was really, it

was an unusual sounding album, very different than the other

Mason, it was heavy as fuck. And it was like Perry Mason, you

know? And Perry Mason was a lawyer, a

sitcom or show that I used to watch all the time when I was a

kid. Although I was into heavy metal

and all kinds of different genres of music, I also like to

watch TV shows that were CSI oriented, FBI type of stuff.

And I also like to watch lawyer stuff and attorneys.

I'm the type of guy that likes law and order.

I like the just I like seeing the justice system where lawyers

are really intelligent and the judges are somewhat fair and,

and how the system works. I find that absolutely

fascinating. I also love the attorney shows

where you see a detective go out, start building the case

together and bring it back to either the prosecution or the

defense. So, yeah.

All right. So back to us, that's important.

Ozzy Osbourne and the band KISS are a lot like me in many ways,

at least whenever it comes to our mentality.

I gave all that I got and I have said I OK, I'm done with all

against Kess or Ozzy Osbourne, but unfortunately Ozzy Osbourne

is doing a final tour. This will be like his 101 deal.

This isn't some young man who's claiming he's ready to settle

down. This is a man who's very old now

and has serious health issues and probably won't be in the
