- 0:24Well, hey guys, it is John C. Morley ere,

- 0:36ago and there was some stuff I had
- 0:37to do.
- 0:37So it was still catching up with stuff.

- 1:16I think you're going to be very pleased
- 1:18with it.

- 1:23single day and I think you guys definitely
- 1:26will, will definitely appreciate, you know, what we're

- 1:32And I think that's something that a lot
- 1:34of people don't understand or realize.
- 1:37But I also want to let you know,
- 1:38if you're thirsty or you're hungry or whatever,
- 1:40feel free to go grab yourself something.
- 1:41I have some delicious apple cider, which is
- 1:45really good.
- 1:49I had a craving for apple cider, had
- 1:51it in the fridge and just had a
- 1:52craving for it.
- 1:53All right, guys, let's get the show started.
- 1:55OK, this is, by the way, this is
- 1:58actually Friday's show, not Saturday.
- 2:02And we are basically ending up the master
- 2:06topic of the week.
- 2:07So as I said, welcome back, everyone, to
- 2:09Inspirations for Your Life, a daily motivational show
- 2:13where growth is intentional, success is sustainable and
- 2:15power doesn't need to shout.
- 2:18Yes, guys, I'm your host, John Seymour, a
- 2:20serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer, podcast
- 2:25host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student and a
- 2:29passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:31And it is, yes, guys, my privilege and
- 2:34my pleasure to be with all of you
- 2:36here on the Inspirations for Your Life show.
- 2:39Thank you so much for for being here,
- 2:42for watching, for making this a part of
- 2:44your life.
- 2:45And today's episode is all about challenges, basically
- 2:51the loud definition of success.
- 2:53We've all been told that we have to
- 2:55be loud to be successful, and that's wrong.
- 2:59We actually need to be quiet.
- 3:02We need to listen and we need to
- 3:04be mindful in our environment, not hustling.
- 3:07Not chaos, not burning out, disguised as ambition,
- 3:12because I think sometimes people feel that if
- 3:14they're close to burnout, they're close to success.
- 3:17No, they're close to exhaustion.
- 3:19I know I've done this many times when
- 3:21I was younger.
- 3:21And, you know, it doesn't get you any
- 3:23further, guys.
- 3:24It really doesn't.
- 3:26It's about you recognizing your strengths and what
- 3:31you can do about them and how you
- 3:32can make a big difference in this world
- 3:35and how you can help yourself and how
- 3:36you can help others.
- 3:38That's important.
- 3:39So today or tonight, we are redefining success
- 3:42as stability because peace isn't quitting, guys.
- 3:46Calmness isn't weakness and quiet wins last much
- 3:51longer.
- 3:52I know there's other people who'll say differently
- 3:54because you've got to be loud and the
- 3:56squeaky wheel gets the noise.
- 3:57And that's all BS.
- 3:58OK, just total BS.
- 4:00Number one, guys, peace is progress.
- 4:04If your life feels calmer, you're moving forward
- 4:09even if it's slower.
- 4:11That's nice and ice cold.
- 4:12I put actually put ice cubes in there.
- 4:13If you guys can see, I put ice
- 4:14cubes in there and that's really good.
- 4:18That's important.
- 4:19You're moving forward and even if it's slower.
- 4:22Number two, stability is power.
- 4:26What you can maintain matters more than what
- 4:29you can spike.
- 4:32I think that's a I think that's a
- 4:34real quick and that's a real interesting one
- 4:36that I think a lot of people don't
- 4:37quite understand.
- 4:40But it's one that I think we need
- 4:42to we need to realize when we really
- 4:45need to realize so we can move forward.
- 4:48Number three.
- 4:49Number three is this quiet success lasts loud
- 4:53wins.
- 4:54They fade away.
- 4:55OK, steady ones compound.
- 4:57You might have had somebody before that yells
- 4:59and screams and they get your attention and
- 5:01they get your attention.
- 5:02But you know what happens as soon as
- 5:04they talk, do they do something?
- 5:05You're like, oh, wait a minute, I don't
- 5:07want to listen to this person anymore because
- 5:09it's not in alignment with me.
- 5:11Maybe somebody else fire or something else.
- 5:14And you say, you know, you're not going
- 5:16to pay attention.
- 5:17But when they yell something like a superlative
- 5:18like that, our body is designed to pay
- 5:22attention to it and respond.
- 5:27So that's where that comes from.
- 5:29Number four, guys, sustainable wins.
- 5:31They matter every single day.
- 5:33Anything that burns you out isn't success.
- 5:36And I know a lot of saying, hey,
- 5:38John, you know, I got to keep trying
- 5:40and I got to keep trying harder.
- 5:43Well, here's what I want to tell you
- 5:44guys, and maybe some of you won't agree
- 5:46with me, but you've got to agree to
- 5:49do it in alignment with yourself.
- 5:57Without as much energy, you've got to do
- 6:00it smarter, not harder.
- 6:03I think that's the thing that a lot
- 6:05of people you know, I think a lot
- 6:06of people will miss that.
- 6:08All right, a lot of people, a lot
- 6:10of people miss that.
- 6:11And by missing that, I think that's a
- 6:14huge, huge thing.
- 6:18OK, a very huge thing.
- 6:21And a lot of times people want to
- 6:23go back, but then they can't.
- 6:25Because maybe they burned a bridge.
- 6:28Number five, guys, balance beats burnout.
- 6:30You don't need to collapse to prove anything.
- 6:33Who says you have to prove anything to
- 6:35anybody?
- 6:35You don't.
- 6:39You absolutely don't owe a proof to anybody.
- 6:44Number six, guys, calm lives, they scale.
- 6:48Guess what?
- 6:49They scale easily.
- 6:51Yep.
- 6:51Chaos doesn't grow well.
- 6:54Systems do.
- 6:55When we have a system in place and
- 6:57the system is able to move us forward.
- 7:00Oh, yes.
- 7:02Now, now I get it.
- 7:03Now it works.
- 7:04But the beginning, you'd be like, oh, I
- 7:06don't know.
- 7:07I don't know if this really going to
- 7:08work.
- 7:08Right.
- 7:15I don't know.
- 7:17I think sometimes people just get so.
- 7:21Lost that they don't necessarily know like what
- 7:24to say or why they're saying something.
- 7:29OK.
- 7:30That's a that's a very important thing, guys,
- 7:33to to realize that one concept, right, that
- 7:39chaos doesn't ever grow well.
- 7:42It's the systems that grow.
- 7:44It's the systems that help us become successful.
- 7:46It's the systems that allow us to work
- 7:48and and be profitable.
- 7:49Even when we're sleeping.
- 7:51You might hear a lot of wealthy people
- 7:53say, you know, I make money 24 seven.
- 7:55Of course, they get the rest, but they
- 7:58make money 24 seven.
- 7:59So when they go to sleep at night,
- 8:01they're still making money.
- 8:03The money is working for them all the
- 8:05time.
- 8:06Number seven, success without chaos.
- 8:08It's real, guys.
- 8:10It's absolutely real.
- 8:11Peaceful growth still counts in any part of
- 8:15the world, in any denomination, in any religion,
- 8:17in any race, religion, sexual orientation, creed, color,
- 8:21political party.
- 8:21It works everywhere.
- 8:23Number eight, stability.
- 8:27Stability compounds happiness.
- 8:32Consistency builds confidence over time.
- 8:36And.
- 8:39It's these subtle things we do.
- 8:40I don't know if you realize that the
- 8:41micro gestures that we do with our hands
- 8:45or even our let's say even our body,
- 8:49I think we don't quite unnecessarily understand why
- 8:53that's happening.
- 8:54But I can tell you that these micro
- 8:57adjustments that don't seem like anything are the
- 9:00reason that people are paying attention to you.
- 9:02All right, number nine, quiet wins.
- 9:10They feel better.
- 9:12Yeah, there's just less anxiety when nothing needs
- 9:16defending.
- 9:18There's nothing like that.
- 9:22I think the more that we can learn
- 9:25from these things, the more that we can
- 9:28say, wait a minute, I actually get this.
- 9:30I actually understand why this is not a
- 9:33direct match with me anymore.
- 9:34I get what that is now.
- 9:37All right.
- 9:38I get what that is.
- 9:39And that's something that I feel a lot
- 9:41of people like they just don't quite understand.
- 9:47Why?
- 9:53They just don't have the insight to it.
- 10:01OK, I hope that makes sense to you,
- 10:07but maybe you get lost sometimes.
- 10:13Maybe you get lost.
- 10:23Maybe you just don't know what to say.
- 10:30Maybe other people confuse you.
- 10:32Right.
- 10:40And maybe it's something you want to do,
- 10:45but then somehow it doesn't work.
- 10:59Maybe when you do that, maybe you can
- 11:01realize that things have the ability.
- 11:09Things can make differences for you when you
- 11:12start to understand the nuances that happen, when
- 11:18you start to understand the nuances.
- 11:20But if you do not understand the nuances,
- 11:22then for whatever reason, you're going to be
- 11:24like, oh, my gosh, what do I do?
- 11:26What am I going to say?
- 11:29Right.
- 11:29Maybe that maybe that's the whole thing.
- 11:32Maybe you're concerned because something's different right now
- 11:35and it's not what you're used to.
- 11:37Number 10, peace reduces regret.
- 11:43Calm decisions age better than the rushed ones
- 11:47do.
- 11:48They do, guys.
- 11:51Number 11, calm success endures.
- 11:55What doesn't exhaust you can last decades.
- 12:00That's what I think that a lot of
- 12:02people, if we had to just stop for
- 12:04five minutes and say, oh, my gosh, like,
- 12:07where am I getting my perception from?
- 12:10Like, where is it coming from?
- 12:11Is it coming around the corner or is
- 12:14it coming from somewhere else?
- 12:16Like like that?
- 12:17That's what I want to know.
- 12:17Is it coming from you or is this
- 12:21coming from, let's say, some auxiliary source that
- 12:30you might think is you?
- 12:32But you know what it isn't.
- 12:33It's not you.
- 12:36You may think it's good for you, but
- 12:39really it's not.
- 12:41It's a placebo.
- 12:44That's the best way to think of it.
- 12:49So calm success endures.
- 12:54What doesn't exhaust you, as I said, can
- 12:57last decades, can last your entire life.
- 13:00Number 12, guys, low drama is high value.
- 13:04We get a lot of people sometimes, you
- 13:06know, that their drama is like such a
- 13:11chore to deal with.
- 13:13All right.
- 13:16But low drama equals high value and emotional
- 13:21steadiness attracts opportunities.
- 13:24Number 12, nobody wants to be around somebody
- 13:28who's dramatic unless we're in the theater, right?
- 13:31Some people exhibit drama because, well, they think
- 13:37that they're going to get better treatment.
- 13:40They think they're going to get more in
- 13:42their life.
- 13:42That's what they think.
- 13:45But does it mean that?
- 13:47No.
- 13:49It's a psychological premise.
- 13:53It's causing the chase, a placebo, a fake
- 13:57carrot, a carrot or a bone that doesn't
- 13:59really exist.
- 14:03Number 13, sustainable ambition.
- 14:06It wins every single time.
- 14:09Long games reward patience.
- 14:13People that are impatient.
- 14:15Always seem to blame others for why can't
- 14:18we move faster?
- 14:21But it's not about moving faster, guys.
- 14:24It's about moving in a way that I'll
- 14:27say is aligned with your core purpose.
- 14:33Yeah.
- 14:34Number 14.
- 14:37Calmness creates clarity.
- 14:40Noise clouds judgment.
- 14:43Stillness sharpens it every single time, every single
- 14:49time, not just one time, but every single
- 14:52time.
- 14:53And if we could understand that it does
- 14:55sharpen every single time, does that mean we
- 14:57could change how we are?
- 14:59Absolutely.
- 15:00We could change on a dime.
- 15:02But many people are afraid because it's different
- 15:04than what they're used to.
- 15:08OK, to what they're used to.
- 15:15I think what people think about calmness, creating
- 15:18clarity and.
- 15:19Noise clouding judgment and the stillness has the
- 15:23ability to be razor sharp to it.
- 15:26They sometimes back away because they don't know
- 15:27what to say.
- 15:28They don't know how to express themselves, so
- 15:31they start looking for excuses to why they
- 15:34can't do something.
- 15:35Number 15.
- 15:37Stable habits when what you repeat becomes your
- 15:41edge.
- 15:43Huh.
- 15:45We remember Neil Dale Carnegie.
- 15:48Remember Nightingale Conant Nightingale Conant said we think
- 15:52about most often is what we become.
- 15:56Right.
- 15:57What we think about, even when we think
- 15:59we're not thinking, we're still thinking about something.
- 16:02All right.
- 16:03Number 16.
- 16:05Quiet wealth lasts flashy gains.
- 16:10Oh, they disappear, guys.
- 16:12Grounded growth remains every single day.
- 16:18But when you have the flash, it's like,
- 16:20oh, I can't really do much with that.
- 16:23I just can't.
- 16:28Number 17, peace multiplies focus and calm minds
- 16:32do better work.
- 16:34When you are not stressed, when you are
- 16:39peaceful, you're able to not only be tranquil,
- 16:43but you're able to have a calmer and
- 16:45more clear focus.
- 16:46You're more, more engaged and a perspective that
- 16:54means something.
- 16:56More than if you were chaotic.
- 17:00All right, you want to do things twice.
- 17:02My great my grandfather said, you know, John,
- 17:05measure twice and cut once.
- 17:07What he meant is that once you cut,
- 17:08you can't go back and re add.
- 17:10You can always cut again, but you can't
- 17:13like, you know, glue it back together.
- 17:16Just can't do that.
- 17:18I think that's important thing to understand.
- 17:21Number 18, number 18 is this calm minds,
- 17:27enjoy, enjoy success.
- 17:28What is the point if you can't breathe
- 17:31inside it?
- 17:34What is the point if you can't enjoy
- 17:36life?
- 17:36What is the point if you can't take
- 17:39the gifts you have and help others?
- 17:42What is the point if you don't recognize
- 17:45what a gift you are?
- 17:52Now, that's not being egotistical.
- 17:53That's being sensible.
- 17:55Number 19.
- 17:58Slow growth lasts longer.
- 18:03Just like we talk about snow, right?
- 18:06The snow that falls, you know, a lot
- 18:10slower.
- 18:13And less amount lasts longer.
- 18:18It sticks, right?
- 18:21Slow growth lasts longer and momentum doesn't need
- 18:25panic.
- 18:26But I know so many people are like,
- 18:27oh, my gosh, what are we going to
- 18:28do?
- 18:28We could do this is happening.
- 18:29What are we going to do?
- 18:31Well, I don't know.
- 18:32Let's just panic until till we can't breathe.
- 18:34No.
- 18:36People are designed and conditioned and trained to
- 18:40panic.
- 18:42Why?
- 18:42I don't know.
- 18:44Comes from lineage sometimes of your ancestors, your
- 18:47parents, your grandparents, your great grandparents.
- 18:52It becomes your story when this isn't a
- 18:57story that you want to really be, but
- 19:00somehow it takes you over.
- 19:05So slow growth lasts longer.
- 19:08Momentum doesn't need panic.
- 19:10So don't you panic because everyone else is
- 19:13saying, oh, my gosh, let's panic.
- 19:16No.
- 19:17Let's approach this with a calm and cool
- 19:20head.
- 19:21Number 20.
- 19:23Stability.
- 19:25It protects your health.
- 19:27Success.
- 19:28Is it worth your nervous system?
- 19:31No, guys, it's not.
- 19:33It's not worth your nervous system.
- 19:35And if it's not worth your nervous system,
- 19:37then.
- 19:38You need to discard it, right?
- 19:41You need to discard it.
- 19:43Stability protects health.
- 19:45Success.
- 19:46Is it worth your nervous system?
- 19:48It's not worth giving that up, right?
- 19:51It's not worth giving up your health and
- 19:53your body so that you think you could
- 19:56be successful.
- 19:57Remember when your body is compromised, I don't
- 19:59care whether we're talking physically, mentally, or spiritually.
- 20:03It takes a toll on that part of
- 20:05your life.
- 20:06And then.
- 20:08You become stressed.
- 20:11Number 21, quiet success scales, less stress, more
- 20:17capacity.
- 20:18So when I am very peaceful and tranquil,
- 20:23I have more room to store information that
- 20:29maybe I couldn't reach before, just maybe, right?
- 20:35But when I am calm, okay, when I'm
- 20:41peaceful, all right, I get more capacity.
- 20:47I retain more.
- 20:50Number 22, guys, peace is earned.
- 20:55It comes from alignment, not from avoidance.
- 20:58If you think you can get peace by
- 21:00avoiding people or avoiding something, that's never going
- 21:03to give you peace.
- 21:05I had a lady today I was talking
- 21:07to, and the lady was a, was a
- 21:09little bit rude because they had called multiple
- 21:11times regarding something.
- 21:13And so I called them back and I
- 21:16said on the carpet, so, you know, I
- 21:17said, you people have changed.
- 21:20You treat us like a number and it's
- 21:25pretty sad the way you say you care
- 21:30about your customers, but really all you care
- 21:33about is your money.
- 21:36I think the person got the message.
- 21:38I mean, I know they were working for
- 21:39corporate, but I think they got the message.
- 21:43Number 23, guys, calm routines win.
- 21:50Yes, structure creates freedom.
- 21:52Now, you might say, John, well, if I
- 21:55have structure, how can I have freedom?
- 21:56So when you have a schedule, you find
- 22:01you have so much more time as you
- 22:03get things done.
- 22:04Even my to-do list that I have
- 22:05and I cross them off, right?
- 22:08Number 24, success without noise is powerful.
- 22:15You don't need applause to advance.
- 22:17Although many people think the only way to
- 22:20victory is applause is a pat on your
- 22:23back is, hey, you know, you're doing great
- 22:25as a handshake.
- 22:26You don't need that.
- 22:28Maybe you needed that in grammar school.
- 22:30Maybe you need a part of high school.
- 22:31You definitely don't need it in college and
- 22:33you don't need it now after you graduate.
- 22:35And if you keep looking for it, you
- 22:38don't get it.
- 22:39You're going to become depressed.
- 22:41You're going to become demotivated.
- 22:44Number 25, guys, stability beats volatility.
- 22:50Predictable progress builds trust.
- 22:54People you can count on, processes you can
- 22:56know have got your back.
- 23:03Number 26, quiet ambition wins all the time.
- 23:09Right, you've heard the phrase, you know, walk
- 23:12softly with a big stick.
- 23:14The stick is on you, but you never
- 23:15have to use it.
- 23:16People know you have it, but it's a,
- 23:18it's a presence, right?
- 23:22A presence.
- 23:23Maybe you're watching younger people and when they
- 23:25know, even though you're a good person, when
- 23:28they know that you're not going to tolerate
- 23:29something, they have demand, they have basically developed
- 23:33respect for you.
- 23:36Number 27, calm confidence grows.
- 23:42It doesn't rush or compete.
- 23:45I want to go back to a post
- 23:49that I made just a few days ago.
- 23:52It got, well, I think it got like
- 23:54several thousand views, um, which I have to
- 23:58tell you, I'm, I'm very, I'm very grateful
- 24:01for that, that it got so many views,
- 24:04but my point, ladies and gentlemen, is that
- 24:11this is something that can change your life.
- 24:24It can change your life over day.
- 24:33And I know sometimes you might be saying,
- 24:35oh, John, you know, I can't quite get
- 24:36that.
- 24:36I can't quite understand.
- 24:40Well, the post I made, uh, on February
- 24:434th, I made a very soon post and
- 24:45it was this, had my name, just had
- 24:48my state and it said, I've always believed
- 24:50good genes say a lot about a person,
- 24:56comfort, confidence, and showing up as yourself.
- 25:02Let me say that again.
- 25:04I've always believed good genes say a lot
- 25:06about a person.
- 25:08It didn't have to be the genes, but
- 25:09that was me.
- 25:11Comfort, confidence, and showing up as yourself.
- 25:16Comfort, confidence, and showing up as yourself.
- 25:18And it got thousands of responses, but I
- 25:25share that with you because a lot of
- 25:27people in the world, you know what they
- 25:29do, they show up, but they show up
- 25:31trying to be somebody else.
- 25:35Number 28, sustainable success in doors.
- 25:39What you can repeat is really what matters.
- 25:43Now, number 29, peace equals freedom.
- 25:46No constant reacting, no constant proving.
- 25:50You don't need to prove to anybody, jack
- 25:52squat.
- 25:54Number 30, stability, defined success.
- 25:57If your life works, you're winning.
- 26:00If you're chasing the eight ball, well, then
- 26:04you're not.
- 26:07And you're not.
- 26:08Life is all about a balance, right?
- 26:11And you have to keep that balance, right?
- 26:16Just like we have a balance in our
- 26:17body.
- 26:18We have equilibrium, a balance with our ears.
- 26:21We have fluid.
- 26:22If the ears, let's say, become out of
- 26:25balance, equilibrium comes from fluid in our ears,
- 26:28could happen for a lot of reasons.
- 26:29Maybe it's very cold and there's some fluid
- 26:31in your ears and that causes your ear
- 26:33to get, let's say, irritated.
- 26:38That works because of our body.
- 26:43So if one ear gets out of whack,
- 26:46it throws off our equilibrium, it throws off
- 26:48our balance, and that can make us not
- 26:52be able to walk, could make us nauseous.
