- 0:18Speaker 1: I had it, You know what I mean. Carla and Turk.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Carla and Turk. Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh. You
- 0:25Speaker 1: want to talk about a good relationship on television, and
- 0:28Speaker 1: you want to talk about a relationship, especially at the
- 0:31Speaker 1: time that we were filming it, I really needed a
- 0:33Speaker 1: relationship like that. Granted, I found a woman of my dreams.
- 0:36Speaker 1: She lives in the same house as me. She's downstairs
- 0:39Speaker 1: right now watching our children. But when I think of
- 0:43Speaker 1: Turk and Carla, I think of Carla and.
- 0:48Speaker 3: You two Judy as like an x of mine.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Even though it was just work, even though we were
- 0:52Speaker 1: working together, It's like I have so many fond memories
- 0:56Speaker 1: and I ruined it, and I spoiled it by the
- 0:59Speaker 1: sh show going off the air, I mean, and then we.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Were no longer together, and I don't see her anymore.
- 1:08Speaker 2: When you see Judy, now, do you have this?
- 1:09Speaker 3: I get the vapors as as as Bismarck. He said,
- 1:13Speaker 3: I caught the vapors. Oh my god.
- 1:15Speaker 1: When I'm watching Scrubs now, I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 1:18Speaker 1: he's so fine.
- 1:18Speaker 3: What was I thinking? What did I do? How did
- 1:22Speaker 3: I let that go?
- 1:23Speaker 4: No, that's okay. Carla always knew it. Yeah, what do
- 1:27Speaker 4: I have to do to get this guy to see
- 1:28Speaker 4: what he has? He always he always, and she always
- 1:32Speaker 4: said it right. Carl always says like if only when
- 1:35Speaker 4: is he gonna love me the way he loves JD.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Here's some stories I'm not sure we made about a
- 1:44Speaker 1: bunch of dogs and nurses, and.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I said, he's a story.

- 2:20Speaker 3: We're so excited about it.
- 2:23Speaker 4: An incredible introduction.
- 2:24Speaker 2: This is where we insert thunderous applause.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I'm at a loss of words. You have no idea
- 2:29Speaker 1: how how excited I am that you are here.
- 2:32Speaker 4: I'm excited for you guys. I'm excited for the show.
- 2:35Speaker 4: You guys got bumped up to two shows a week.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I can't even catch up.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Well, we've been having fun. We never thought anyone would
- 2:40Speaker 2: really listen. We thought it would be maybe our parents.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Donald's mom doesn't even listen.
- 2:44Speaker 1: To I don't think she's ever listened to No, I
- 2:46Speaker 1: know she hasn't listened. You know how I know she
- 2:48Speaker 1: hasn't listened. This is how I know she hasn't listened,
- 2:50Speaker 1: because I'll be like, mom, and I've already said on
- 2:52Speaker 1: the podcast, I don't think my mom ever listens to
- 2:54Speaker 1: the show, Right, I was like, Mom, have you listened.
- 2:56Speaker 3: To the podcast? She's like, yeah, I listened to it
- 2:58Speaker 3: all the time.
- 2:59Speaker 1: And I know that she hasn't and she hasn't been Like,
- 3:01Speaker 1: she hasn't called me and been like, I listened to
- 3:03Speaker 1: your podcast.
- 3:04Speaker 3: She has no idea.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah, isn't that the story of the show?
- 3:07Speaker 3: You know?
- 3:08Speaker 4: It was like congratulations, but nobody's watched the show until
- 3:11Speaker 4: like twenty years later when now it's like a legend,
- 3:13Speaker 4: right television folklore, where everybody's like, oh my god, you
- 3:18Speaker 4: don't understand. I grew up on your show. And then
- 3:20Speaker 4: it's like, wow, okay, right.
- 3:22Speaker 3: When you hear that, it's like, well, how come y'all
- 3:24Speaker 3: didn't show up in the ratings?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Then, well they did in the beginning. I was just
- 3:27Speaker 2: looking back. This is back in two thousand, when there
- 3:30Speaker 2: was no streaming competition and people actually did watch the show.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I mean, there were a lot of people watching the
- 3:34Speaker 2: show in the beginning, especially, you know, we always joked
- 3:38Speaker 2: that we barely survived, that we were always moving around
- 3:40Speaker 2: timeslots and everything. But this was still like at a
- 3:42Speaker 2: time when Joelle, you can correct me if I'm wrong,
- 3:45Speaker 2: but I think like eleven million people or something we're
- 3:47Speaker 2: watching these episodes.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yeah, when we followed Yeah, when we followed Fraser, we
- 3:52Speaker 1: were at eleven or ten million.
- 3:54Speaker 3: But when the.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Season two or three, when we started following Friends, we
- 3:59Speaker 1: at one point we we had like twenty seven million
- 4:01Speaker 1: people watching our show.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's just so funny. You never
- 4:03Speaker 2: get no one ever gets numbers like that anymore. Back
- 4:06Speaker 2: in two thousand and one, you could have eleven million
- 4:08Speaker 2: people watch your TV show.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Well, because there were only three television networks right there
- 4:12Speaker 4: was ABC, NBCCBS and like A Fox and Fox and
- 4:16Speaker 4: then show Time in HBO. So there were only a
- 4:19Speaker 4: certain number of shows that you can watch. And now,
- 4:22Speaker 4: you know, like we were saying before, people are actually
- 4:25Speaker 4: coming to us and texting us and through social media
- 4:28Speaker 4: letting us know that we, particularly in these times, that
- 4:32Speaker 4: our show literally changed their lives and influence and affected
- 4:36Speaker 4: the choices that they made for a living. And that's
- 4:41Speaker 4: really really moving.
- 4:43Speaker 1: So yeah, you're absolutely right. It feels so warm and
- 4:46Speaker 1: fuzzy inside when you know, you read your comments and
- 4:49Speaker 1: you post a picture of your kids and stuff like that,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and they're like that, don't look like Carlo.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Donald always gets heras gets harassed.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Look like Carla had them kids.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That's why I always I'm always like wow that the
- 5:04Speaker 1: show hits so hard and so many people that when
- 5:08Speaker 1: I post pictures of my family or I post pictures,
- 5:11Speaker 1: you know, of us at a holiday, and you know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: during holiday, the first thing that comes up that don't
- 5:17Speaker 1: look like Carlo.
- 5:20Speaker 4: I was working when I started working in out of state,
- 5:23Speaker 4: which is right after scrubs were all chows are being
- 5:26Speaker 4: shot like in Vancouver or Atlanta or in New Orleans.
- 5:34Speaker 2: So Judy wait, I was gonna say, Donald, if you
- 5:36Speaker 2: don't mind, and Judy, we've we've been asking everyone that
- 5:40Speaker 2: comes on the show, all the cast members, their their
- 5:43Speaker 2: audition story, because I think listeners are I imagine interested
- 5:47Speaker 2: in that. I hope they're interested in that, but maybe
- 5:50Speaker 2: I don't really know yours. I know Donald Sarah's. So
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'd love to hear your story about how the script
- 5:56Speaker 2: initially came to you and what your audition process was.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Like in New York. You know, I was working, I
- 6:01Speaker 4: had done oh gosh, I don't know i'd done like
- 6:04Speaker 4: this was must have been like my seventh pilot audition.
- 6:07Speaker 4: I've done all about six pilots before this that never
- 6:12Speaker 4: went that never got picked up. So by the time
- 6:15Speaker 4: I got to this one, I was just like, you know,
- 6:18Speaker 4: ready for it not to go as well. But it
- 6:20Speaker 4: was such a good pilot. And Carla had these two
- 6:23Speaker 4: great monologues in the in the pilot one year where
- 6:26Speaker 4: I go off right and one where I go off
- 6:29Speaker 4: on Doctor Cox. And I was, you know, I was
- 6:33Speaker 4: part of a theater company and I was just so
- 6:35Speaker 4: prepared to just nail it and walk out and get it.
- 6:37Speaker 4: And I got it. You know, you get a flee
- 6:38Speaker 4: free flight to LA you had to say, in a
- 6:41Speaker 4: fancy hotel. But the most important thing was to just
- 6:44Speaker 4: like work on it really hard and go get out
- 6:47Speaker 4: of the room feeling good.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Wait, you weren't living in You weren't living in Los Angeles?
- 6:51Speaker 4: No, No, I was in New York. I was living
- 6:53Speaker 4: in New York.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Was your first audition at thirty Rock or something for Yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 4: My first edition was at thirty Rock, and I did
- 7:01Speaker 4: really well. And all I just kept getting was this
- 7:04Speaker 4: feedback from my manager, Gene Fox.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Your manager was yes, yes, not this, not doing this,
- 7:10Speaker 2: but you were not at this time. But yes, But
- 7:13Speaker 2: we did have the same manager back in the day.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Yet when we were younger, right, because she mostly represented
- 7:17Speaker 4: kids and I always played really young and earlier in
- 7:20Speaker 4: my career. But I remember being really excited to get
- 7:23Speaker 4: this flight to LA and staying in a fancy hotel
- 7:25Speaker 4: and all this stuff. And I remember somebody giving me
- 7:29Speaker 4: a note to tell its like, before you start your scene,
- 7:33Speaker 4: just take his breath and look at everybody in the room,
- 7:36Speaker 4: and then start right.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So that's good advice.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Hey, And I really did, and I felt and they
- 7:44Speaker 4: were like, think three other women?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Did you know them anyway?
- 7:48Speaker 4: I didn't know anybody. I just remember who was the
- 7:50Speaker 4: casting director for that. I knew the casting director because
- 7:52Speaker 4: I auditioned them all the time. And I didn't even
- 7:55Speaker 4: know any of the actresses, which was strange because all
- 7:57Speaker 4: Latina actressesn't know each other. And I think I was
- 8:00Speaker 4: the only one from La who was flown in and
- 8:03Speaker 4: I felt like I had a really good chance, but
- 8:04Speaker 4: I didn't attach myself to anything.
- 8:07Speaker 2: What scenes did you do? Do you remember what scenes
- 8:09Speaker 2: you did from the pilot?
- 8:11Speaker 4: All the scenes that Carla had, which was like the
- 8:14Speaker 4: one where I go he hits on me and the
- 8:16Speaker 4: one to doctor Cox. I don't remember any of this stuff.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Don't worry. Don't worry, Donald, I don't remember anything either.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I watched this episode that we're talking about twice, yes,
- 8:26Speaker 4: same here, because I remember what I remember. It is
- 8:28Speaker 4: like in the first season, I had this one big,
- 8:31Speaker 4: big episode with you where we go to see the
- 8:34Speaker 4: photography exhibit that's called my nickname, and I was sure
- 8:37Speaker 4: that that's what we were going to talk about today. Like,
- 8:39Speaker 4: wait a minute, we're not doing my nickname.
- 8:41Speaker 2: No no one time one day duty will get more
- 8:44Speaker 2: organized than like book people for the times they have
- 8:47Speaker 2: their big episode. But I think you have a really
- 8:49Speaker 2: nice arc in this episode.
- 8:50Speaker 4: I do, and that's why I wanted. I was like,
- 8:51Speaker 4: this is really great. I'm excited to talk about it.
- 8:54Speaker 2: We just wanted to have you on.
- 8:55Speaker 4: But I remember taking that moment and looking at all
- 8:59Speaker 4: these people. It's like in my head, I was like, fuck,
- 9:01Speaker 4: there's a lot of people in here. And I looked
- 9:03Speaker 4: at all of them. I was like, no pressure, right,
- 9:05Speaker 4: and they just fell out laughing, and Bill the loudest,
- 9:09Speaker 4: and I felt really relaxed and I just they laughed
- 9:11Speaker 4: at every single thing I did. And I was like,
- 9:13Speaker 4: I'm fine, and I walked to the elevator, and before
- 9:16Speaker 4: I got to the elevator, the casting and notes, Oh,
- 9:19Speaker 4: I wanted to tell you something. Hold on a second.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Before they called the other girl in, I was like,
- 9:23Speaker 4: you're good. I was like, oh, oh shit.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Like when you like as do you remember if it
- 9:30Speaker 2: was Brett or Debbie one of those Yeah, And she
- 9:33Speaker 2: took you aside.
- 9:34Speaker 4: She took me aside. At the elevator. I was like, amaze,
- 9:36Speaker 4: you were really good, and I said, oh, I wasn't
- 9:38Speaker 4: sure what that meant, but I was like and by
- 9:40Speaker 4: the time I got to the airport, I was like,
- 9:42Speaker 4: you got it.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Oh wow, that's so awesome.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 9:47Speaker 3: So on your way back, how much did you drink
- 9:51Speaker 3: in celebration?
- 9:53Speaker 4: I was like, They were like, do you want a
- 9:55Speaker 4: champagne or orange juice? Or I was like can I
- 9:58Speaker 4: have them both? In one glance? It's like most. I
- 10:02Speaker 4: was like, yeah, that's it, give me one of those.
- 10:05Speaker 4: And I was like, you want to know almost like yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 4: I read another one.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Oh man, that's amazing.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And then so you had to go back to well,
- 10:13Speaker 2: it was just a pilot, so I guess you you
- 10:15Speaker 2: weren't planning on moving. You just kind of came out
- 10:17Speaker 2: for the pilot, then came out.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Came out for the pilot, and then you know, by
- 10:19Speaker 4: the time we got picked up.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Okay, so do you remember upfront at all?
- 10:25Speaker 4: I got Didn't I get hammered?
- 10:27Speaker 3: That's what I'm asking We all did, but that's what
- 10:29Speaker 3: I'm asking.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Do I remember I remember being on a swing.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Donald told this story where you were on but it
- 10:38Speaker 2: was more than a swing.
- 10:39Speaker 3: You guys, it was like a trapeze.
- 10:41Speaker 2: For some reason, this bar we were in had a
- 10:42Speaker 2: trapeze and it it's really not safe.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I wanted to swing, and my and my ex husband
- 10:48Speaker 4: had to take me home. Yes, I remember who was
- 10:51Speaker 4: the executive, tall guy and he he had a snot
- 10:56Speaker 4: on his nose and I was like, you got a
- 10:58Speaker 4: booger and you were like And Bill was so impressed
- 11:03Speaker 4: and was like, You're the only person I know who
- 11:05Speaker 4: would tell, like the head of a network that he
- 11:07Speaker 4: has boogers. I was like, but what are you what
- 11:11Speaker 4: do you want to know?
- 11:13Speaker 2: I loved that on one side of that party, Donald's
- 11:15Speaker 2: giving Jeff Zucker a noogie. On the other side of
- 11:17Speaker 2: the party, you're telling another executive he has a booger
- 11:19Speaker 2: on his nose. And Bill had told us all like, guys,
- 11:23Speaker 2: do not get too drunk at this party. It's gonna
- 11:25Speaker 2: be important executives here.
- 11:27Speaker 4: We got wasted. Sarrow was wasted.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Do you remember her famous phrase, Judy At that party,
- 11:34Speaker 2: She's she walked.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Up to had a Cosmopolitan.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I'm so good.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I was like child.
- 11:42Speaker 2: She was. She was walking sideways. I just remember she
- 11:46Speaker 2: was like on a diagonal.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I told her, I was like, I like martinis. You
- 11:52Speaker 4: know my friend Richie Petricelli says about Martini's martinis are
- 11:56Speaker 4: like tits, one's not enough, threes too many.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I want that on a T shirt. What was your
- 12:08Speaker 2: first impression of meeting Donald because you knew he was
- 12:11Speaker 2: going to be your your love interest? And then I
- 12:13Speaker 2: did you meet him at the table read thing that
- 12:15Speaker 2: we did at Bill's house? Did I go to the
- 12:17Speaker 2: table maybe because maybe because you flew in, maybe because
- 12:21Speaker 2: I didn't go? So where did you meet Donald?
- 12:23Speaker 3: On set? I met him on set that I told
- 12:26Speaker 3: you this story, dude, like.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I want to hear it from Judy.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Okay, sorry that we had that makeout scene.
- 12:32Speaker 4: We had the makeout scene, right, and.
- 12:34Speaker 3: You had smoked cigarettes right before.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Donald's already complained that you were smoking.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Yes, and of course, okay.
- 12:39Speaker 1: But since then we smoked so many cigarettes together, Oh
- 12:42Speaker 1: my gosh.
- 12:43Speaker 4: But what I do remember is that we had that
- 12:45Speaker 4: makeout scene and I was completely I felt Donald is Donald.
- 12:49Speaker 4: What you see is what you get. He's the sweetest, kindest, relaxed,
- 12:54Speaker 4: but very professional guy, right, and I felt very comfortable
- 12:57Speaker 4: with Donald. And we had this makeout scene and I
- 13:00Speaker 4: don't think that I've ever had a kissing scene like
- 13:04Speaker 4: that before, where you know, we're just like making out
- 13:07Speaker 4: and I stuck my tongue in his mouth.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, And then he went and then he went
- 13:12Speaker 2: everybody who did that a lot? And then and then
- 13:15Speaker 2: Donald started with Judy. Didn't Donald start walking around bragging
- 13:18Speaker 2: everyone like I got.
- 13:19Speaker 4: But the first time I did it the first time.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, right away, right immediately.
- 13:24Speaker 5: But he told like the whole fucking and then he
- 13:28Speaker 5: ruined it for nine years.
- 13:29Speaker 4: But the whole time, the rest of it, the rest, No,
- 13:32Speaker 4: but because I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed. This motherfucker goes,
- 13:36Speaker 4: it goes. Yo, you stuck your tongue in my mouth.
- 13:41Speaker 4: I wasn't supposed to do that. I didn't know.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So Donald, you in one moment, you have this beautiful woman,
- 13:51Speaker 2: she's giving you the first on screen kiss, and then
- 13:55Speaker 2: you blab about it and then you never got tongue again,
- 13:58Speaker 2: did you.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Well, No, she did it a couple of times. Hold on,
- 14:00Speaker 1: now you did it, Yeah you did. I could I
- 14:03Speaker 1: could show you the episode because I remember one episode
- 14:06Speaker 1: we're making out and the girl I was dating at
- 14:09Speaker 1: the time was like, well, this is awkward, and I was.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And it was like the scene where we're supposed to
- 14:15Speaker 1: be making out, it's supposed to be a wet, sloppery
- 14:17Speaker 1: kiss and stuff like that. And JD even says something
- 14:20Speaker 1: about that about our making.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Out because it's scripted, right, But you.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Know what I said, that wasn't.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Mature slower than then girls do. It's just that simple
- 14:33Speaker 1: women mature faster.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I just remember thinking like, I would never brat it out.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I remember thinking, I remember thinking like that's not going
- 14:41Speaker 2: to end well, Donald, No, it did.
- 14:43Speaker 4: It didn't end well immediately. No, But I was really
- 14:47Speaker 4: embarrassed about it because it just it was. It was
- 14:50Speaker 4: just instinctual.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I was like, okay, so before Donald, before Donald ruined it,
- 14:56Speaker 2: it was a good kiss. I imagine a kiss.
- 14:59Speaker 4: I'm a great kid.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Oh shit, Donald, you fucked up.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I did fuck up. I fucked up.
- 15:06Speaker 2: This many years later, you're still listen.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Like I said, I look back at it now, like
- 15:10Speaker 1: what was I thinking?
- 15:11Speaker 4: Dude?
- 15:12Speaker 3: What a dummy?
- 15:13Speaker 4: Listen. The whole crew was was like what are you thinking?
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's like that thing in Scrubs where they
- 15:20Speaker 2: get the opera singer who goes missed.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It that Kevin Sorbo, That Kevin Sorbo story.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Have you heard that?
- 15:32Speaker 4: Which one is that one?
- 15:33Speaker 1: You know how they put in parentheses the direction that
- 15:36Speaker 1: you're supposed to do, and then underneath it usually.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Is the line, yeah, the parenthetical.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Right, And in that it said disappointed.
- 15:45Speaker 1: That was like the last thing underneath the line that
- 15:48Speaker 1: he has, so like the line was something like, this
- 15:49Speaker 1: isn't my world, this isn't my place. And then in
- 15:53Speaker 1: that thing it says it says disappointed. So he's supposed
- 15:56Speaker 1: to say all of this disappointed, and he it's trying
- 16:00Speaker 1: to figure out a way to muster up the disappointment.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Now this is all folklore, this is all this this
- 16:05Speaker 1: might not be true, and he trying to figure it
- 16:07Speaker 1: out a way to mustard up. He goes disappointed.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I love those Hollywood stories where you hear something that
- 16:19Speaker 2: some actors said, you have no idea if it's true
- 16:21Speaker 2: or not, but they're they're funny to hear. I know
- 16:23Speaker 2: one with Christina Ricci. Apparently she was I have no again,
- 16:27Speaker 2: I have no idea this is true, but I heard
- 16:28Speaker 2: this story that she was getting all this direction. The
- 16:30Speaker 2: director was going into all this elaborate stuff and She
- 16:32Speaker 2: looked at him and said, look more happy or more
- 16:34Speaker 2: sad the end of the day, right, just which, when
- 16:38Speaker 2: you think about it, is pretty great. It was pretty
- 16:39Speaker 2: Let's just just break it all down. Do you want
- 16:41Speaker 2: it more happy or do you want it more sad?
- 16:44Speaker 4: That's very Wednesday of her.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to hear your elaborate. Your direction's
- 16:49Speaker 2: so confusing. Do you want me happier or sader.
- 16:54Speaker 4: By then other day? That's like very Carla and Turk,
- 16:56Speaker 4: isn't it. It's like, what are you doing? You just
- 16:59Speaker 4: ruined it for the rest of our relationship.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Well, you were such a you two had such a
- 17:02Speaker 2: great relationship on the show, and I think so many
- 17:05Speaker 2: people were genuinely invested in you too, which is just
- 17:08Speaker 2: such a testament to how how good your chemistry was
- 17:11Speaker 2: and of course how good both of your performances were.
- 17:13Speaker 1: But just so so cute also like just so like
- 17:18Speaker 1: Carla and Turk together was like, that's definite relationship goals
- 17:22Speaker 1: for me. Like if my relationship was like that, would
- 17:25Speaker 1: you know? It's so much so that it kind of
- 17:28Speaker 1: is like that when you when you really think about it,
- 17:30Speaker 1: you know, my wife is the boss of this.
- 17:34Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Carler was the boss, you know what I mean, all
- 17:38Speaker 1: the way up into how she made the guy ask
- 17:41Speaker 1: her out, you know what I mean. She got him
- 17:44Speaker 1: to the point where he was she offered sex to him,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and he declined, you know what I mean. He declined
- 17:50Speaker 1: because he was afraid to ruin the relationship because he
- 17:55Speaker 1: saw where it was going, you know what I mean.
- 17:56Speaker 4: And that's just so particularly in this episode where where
- 18:00Speaker 4: Carla fucks up so bad and she goes to Turk
- 18:04Speaker 4: where he's exemplary more that where Carla talks a lot
- 18:08Speaker 4: and she's just strong, but she falls apart and she
- 18:12Speaker 4: goes to him and she sees what he does, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 4: he walks the walk, and she just does what he
- 18:16Speaker 4: does at the end of the day, you know, and
- 18:19Speaker 4: she sees, she sees how strong Turk is as well,
- 18:23Speaker 4: and she goes by his example.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Judy, do you think that you I mean, I'm sure
- 18:28Speaker 2: this has come up for you. I hear it all
- 18:29Speaker 2: the time that you inspired a lot of people to
- 18:32Speaker 2: become nurses, which must be a pretty incredible thing, because
- 18:36Speaker 2: I just I when I watch the show, especially now
- 18:38Speaker 2: back and having some experience in hospitals, with sick family members.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm so aware of the power of the nurses and
- 18:44Speaker 2: how the nurses are running the whole show. And to me,
- 18:47Speaker 2: when I rewatched this, Carla was just just the exemplar
- 18:51Speaker 2: of the most amazing nurse there ever was. And I
- 18:54Speaker 2: just wonder what your experience of people, men and women
- 18:57Speaker 2: coming up to you and saying you may have inspired
- 18:59Speaker 2: them to.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Go I think that's true. Well, I don't know that
- 19:03Speaker 4: that hat. I think that people who may have been
- 19:04Speaker 4: considering a career in medicine, they got that extra push
- 19:08Speaker 4: from seeing a character like Carla and a Loma and
- 19:12Speaker 4: a show like Scrubs. Do you know what I mean?
- 19:15Speaker 4: And the strength of someone like that and the true
- 19:18Speaker 4: power of those of those people in that profession, do
- 19:22Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Where people find, you know,
- 19:24Speaker 4: the glory in the doctors, for example, that they don't
- 19:30Speaker 4: know that you cannot have those doctors without the nurses.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I remember having that conversation with Bill one time where
- 19:35Speaker 4: he wanted to explore the idea of Carla wanting to
- 19:39Speaker 4: pursue a career as a doctor, and I was like, no,
- 19:43Speaker 4: I wasn't interested in that, because I think Carla loves
- 19:46Speaker 4: being a nurse and I love you know, that's where
- 19:49Speaker 4: her strength and her power and her vanity and her
- 19:51Speaker 4: ego live. And I think that she's really okay with that,
- 19:55Speaker 4: do you know what I mean? And the dynamics of
- 19:57Speaker 4: the relationships with every with her and everyone in the
- 20:00Speaker 4: hospital our strongest there, you know what I mean, and
- 20:04Speaker 4: that there's nothing wrong with that, and her viewing audience.
- 20:07Speaker 4: And for me as a Latina, all these Latinas find
- 20:10Speaker 4: strength and well, there's a lot of a huge force
- 20:15Speaker 4: with people and women and women of color in particular
- 20:19Speaker 4: and particularly at that time.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I wanted to segue you great segue into this episode.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Actually it is.
- 20:26Speaker 2: And also I just want to point out Joel because
- 20:28Speaker 2: she's such a good producer, sent me this statement, sent
- 20:32Speaker 2: us this. The Annenberg Inclusion Initiative at the University of
- 20:35Speaker 2: Southern California released a study in twenty nineteen that said,
- 20:39Speaker 2: quote Latino actors represented only three percent of lead or
- 20:43Speaker 2: co lead roles in top performing movies during the last
- 20:47Speaker 2: twelve years. That this is movies, not TV, but it's
- 20:49Speaker 2: the same thing. What impression do you think Carla left
- 20:52Speaker 2: on your community? Which I thought was a really smart
- 20:55Speaker 2: question that I have to give Joelle a credit for
- 20:57Speaker 2: I think.
- 20:57Speaker 4: It left a huge impression. I get again, I get
- 21:00Speaker 4: it all the time, and I think people built on it.
- 21:03Speaker 4: A lot of roles were designed on Carla as a result,
- 21:08Speaker 4: you know, a lot of strong, sassy roles as a
- 21:11Speaker 4: result of that.
- 21:13Speaker 2: But not, I mean, you're you weren't a caricature in
- 21:15Speaker 2: any sense, not in any sense. I thought it was
- 21:18Speaker 2: a testament to the writing, absolutely.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Obviously, And it's and I think it's been challenging to
- 21:23Speaker 4: find characters and roles that have been as strong and
- 21:28Speaker 4: as memorable since. You know, I know, it's hard for
- 21:31Speaker 4: me to find roles that have been as strong and
- 21:33Speaker 4: as memorable since and and for me to find you,
- 21:35Speaker 4: just like you were talking and that and that, uh,
- 21:38Speaker 4: the podcast that I was listening with you guys and Bill.
- 21:42Speaker 4: People want like a phase on type of character, you know,
- 21:46Speaker 4: built on because that's the power and the force of
- 21:49Speaker 4: a very well written, very well acted show where you're
- 21:52Speaker 4: trying to just build on the kind of actor that
- 21:55Speaker 4: you are, but move past that is a real challenge
- 21:58Speaker 4: because it's hard to find written roles. But yeah, and
- 22:03Speaker 4: the discussions and the arguments of the debates that you
- 22:05Speaker 4: have with the writers to keep it real and keep
- 22:08Speaker 4: it honest, keep it flawed, keep it complicated, which is
- 22:12Speaker 4: all that Bill and the writers responded to really honestly,
- 22:17Speaker 4: you know. And Bill responded to when I said, yeah,
- 22:19Speaker 4: let's keep her a nurse, because you know, that's where
- 22:22Speaker 4: the challenge is in a hospital environment living.
- 22:24Speaker 2: And he was really respectful of your input, I think,
- 22:26Speaker 2: And all right, we're gonna go to commercial because that'shere
- 22:30Speaker 2: we're supposed to do.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Donald. I thought we were going to go into the episode.
- 22:33Speaker 2: We're going to but I'm seeing a chat from this producer.
- 22:37Speaker 2: This is like the longest do you ever look at
- 22:39Speaker 2: the chat thsposed talking about the show though I know, bro,
- 22:42Speaker 2: but listen, Judy is entertaining as hell, and.
- 22:45Speaker 3: We're gonna go. I'm not saying it's her fault.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Why are you yelling at all of us? It feels
- 22:49Speaker 2: like you're yelling.
- 22:50Speaker 3: No one's yelling. I'm just saying the formats all fucked up.
- 22:53Speaker 3: We'll be right back.
- 23:00Speaker 2: We're stricken iced tea, No Judy.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Donald.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I'm a little worried because we're only we're only like
- 23:05Speaker 2: eight episodes in and Donald has taken the day.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Drinking only on shoot days. Only on shoot days.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I have a feeling by the time we get to
- 23:13Speaker 2: like episode twenty, he's gonna be the camera like and
- 23:15Speaker 2: another thing.
- 23:16Speaker 4: He's gonna be screaming. By episode eight, well, they'll be
- 23:20Speaker 4: like what.
- 23:23Speaker 2: His shirt will be off? His shirt will be off.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Do you remember that time, Judy, we were all at
- 23:28Speaker 2: a bar like, Oh no, I won't tell the whole story.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I won't tell the whole story, but all I know
- 23:33Speaker 2: is that Donald got drunk enough so that his shirt
- 23:34Speaker 2: was off in the bar.
- 23:35Speaker 3: And I just remember saying ice bar too.
- 23:37Speaker 1: It was an ice bar, so it's it's there's a
- 23:40Speaker 1: room where you go in and it's nothing but ice.
- 23:42Speaker 3: And I went in that room shirtless and drank.
- 23:45Speaker 2: No, but you were walking around the park. I mean,
- 23:47Speaker 2: this was just hilarious now I think about it was.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It was our whole cast and crew, and we were
- 23:51Speaker 2: all partying. I don't know if it was a wrap
- 23:53Speaker 2: thing or whatever, but all of a sudden I look
- 23:55Speaker 2: over and Donald was drunk enough so that he was
- 23:57Speaker 2: like having animated discus Rushians without his shirt on in
- 24:02Speaker 2: the bar.
- 24:04Speaker 4: The fact that you remember that.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Because I did, I did some stupid things, and my
- 24:10Speaker 1: then girlfriend now wife showed up to surprise me, and
- 24:14Speaker 1: I was acting a fool at the bar.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Evidence.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's such a good story. But I don't know.
- 24:21Speaker 3: If I don't know, I don't know. If I don't know,
- 24:23Speaker 3: can he asked.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Casey if we can have permission Mabel tail on a
- 24:25Speaker 2: later episode.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll ask her.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, But in the meantime, just know that Donald got
- 24:29Speaker 2: in trouble and also had his shirt off.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, do you remember the time Donald got
- 24:35Speaker 4: in trouble. That's like every.
- 24:37Speaker 3: That's a lot that happened a lot.
- 24:38Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. Every every episode he got in
- 24:41Speaker 4: trouble and took off Oh my god, said part of clothing.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Yeah. And when Donald would yeah, he did his clothes off.
- 24:47Speaker 2: And then if he got to the next level drunk,
- 24:48Speaker 2: he'd leave angrily, and like sometimes he'd leave angrily with
- 24:51Speaker 2: no shirt on.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Yeah, right, yo, dude, that my god.
- 24:56Speaker 4: That's just Donald the newtist.
- 24:58Speaker 2: You need to show right, he wants will home so mad.
- 25:00Speaker 2: We won't go into this story.
- 25:02Speaker 3: We won't go in this is that he walked.
- 25:04Speaker 2: We live. We both lived at the time in the
- 25:06Speaker 2: Hollywood Hills and he once walked home, walked home, no
- 25:11Speaker 2: shirt on.
- 25:12Speaker 3: From the brea and melrose up.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Into the Hollywood Hills, like there's no sidewalks, Like people
- 25:17Speaker 2: don't walk where Donald. This is where Donald walked and
- 25:20Speaker 2: he was powerwalking, like arms flying, mad, naked.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Naked, but I was mad, Yeah, like that, you're really mad. Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 1: it's a long story.
- 25:31Speaker 2: That's a long story. Some of these stories we have
- 25:33Speaker 2: to censor. Should we get into the.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Episode, we should totally get into the.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I just wanted to say the first thing that I noticed,
- 25:39Speaker 2: and I is that Donald CPR at forty eight seconds
- 25:43Speaker 2: is I would not bring anyone back to life, but
- 25:45Speaker 2: I just want to say something.
- 25:46Speaker 3: It was a real human being. I'm not allowed you,
- 25:50Speaker 3: I know.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I want to tell the audience that it's a tricky
- 25:52Speaker 2: thing to give fake CPR because if you do CPR
- 25:55Speaker 2: for real, you can kill someone. So when you watch
- 25:58Speaker 2: horrible TV and movie CPR, it sometimes looked like this.
- 26:02Speaker 2: But I just wanted to say that I thought you
- 26:03Speaker 2: did a particularly bad job.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you very much, thank you.
- 26:11Speaker 4: It wasn't the real JD there at the time on
- 26:14Speaker 4: set to approve the favorite.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I'm sure, but if you look at if you look
- 26:18Speaker 2: at fake CPR all throughout medical TV shows, there's different techniques.
- 26:22Speaker 2: But and and you know, some people just like completely
- 26:25Speaker 2: bed in their elbows so none of the pressure goes
- 26:27Speaker 2: down on the person's stern. I don't know what Donald's
- 26:29Speaker 2: doing here, but I just maybe JD had an emergency.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Maybe he was hungover from that powerwak.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't, I don't.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I don't know why this is a highlight of this
- 26:42Speaker 1: podcast today.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I'm just saying, buddy, I'm just saying, next time you
- 26:46Speaker 2: do fake CPR in one of your projects, you know
- 26:49Speaker 2: you can do better. I believe in you. Okay, let's
- 26:52Speaker 2: talk about the Holy Inferiority Complex Batman. This is one
- 26:55Speaker 2: of some people's favorite fact.
- 26:56Speaker 3: You know what I wrote down when I saw.
- 26:58Speaker 2: That what one of that man.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Robin Starsky and Hutch Han and Chewy Han and Luke.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Turk and JD.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Are you're putting us up up there.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I'm saying we are ultimate, ultimate dynamic duo.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I want to say that. You know, there's certain things
- 27:20Speaker 2: that come up all the time in Scrubs, fan favorite
- 27:24Speaker 2: things that they send us gifts or they send or
- 27:26Speaker 2: I see them on the interwebs, and this episode has
- 27:29Speaker 2: a few of them actually, but this Batman Holy Inferity
- 27:34Speaker 2: Inferiority complex is one of them.
- 27:37Speaker 4: I think it's great because then then you to at
- 27:40Speaker 4: least you're not Alfred and then you're in the Kick.
- 27:49Speaker 1: That was my best Adam west impersonation ever, too. I
- 27:52Speaker 1: don't think I could ever, Like, you know, people are
- 27:54Speaker 1: like to Neil Diamond. I think my Adam west impersonation
- 27:58Speaker 1: was better than my Neil Diamond.
- 28:00Speaker 3: You're worst, Robin.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, your mask is so funny. I just have it
- 28:03Speaker 2: frozen on one seventeen and I know that, like we weren't,
- 28:06Speaker 2: like we weren't allowed to do the exact costume again
- 28:08Speaker 2: because it's parody. It like has to have a little
- 28:10Speaker 2: twist on it. But your mask is so funny.
- 28:14Speaker 3: It's like Marty grau Ma, It's like a Marty Gras mask.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I know what it was. It was. It's like a
- 28:18Speaker 2: Martin So funny too.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Because those were the days too, whenever we had to
- 28:22Speaker 4: do like the Scrubs fantasies or whatever, where we was like,
- 28:25Speaker 4: oh are they doing the fantasy And everybody would run
- 28:28Speaker 4: down from their dressing rooms and come see everybody and
- 28:31Speaker 4: do the costumes and the fantasies. And I'd be like,
- 28:35Speaker 4: I said, when do.
- 28:36Speaker 2: You actually get one Judy? One thing?
- 28:38Speaker 3: One thing?
- 28:39Speaker 2: I hear one thing. I noticed Judy at three twenty three?
- 28:42Speaker 2: You are you? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 28:44Speaker 2: You weren't often in the fantasies, but this was. But
- 28:48Speaker 2: this is one because because I don't know why we
- 28:50Speaker 2: can talk about that, but this was one of the
- 28:52Speaker 2: early times where you were in there doing that throwing
- 28:54Speaker 2: stars thing.
- 28:55Speaker 4: And I'll tell you because I was also listening to
- 28:58Speaker 4: when I was listening to the Bill podcast, I remember
- 29:01Speaker 4: you know how you know how Bill always warned us
- 29:03Speaker 4: not to go and talk to him about including or
- 29:06Speaker 4: getting it because you would get faisoned. And that would
- 29:09Speaker 4: be terrified I'm talking to him about shit like that.
- 29:12Speaker 4: It would be like, you know, because he would always
- 29:15Speaker 4: let me know this a sudden your character there would
- 29:18Speaker 4: be carrying the gravitas of the show, and I was like,
- 29:22Speaker 4: but I'm funny, goddamn it. I'd be worried about It's like,
- 29:28Speaker 4: how do I talk to this man about the fact
- 29:30Speaker 4: that I'm funny and I want like a fantasy and
- 29:34Speaker 4: you know, or I want more jokes and shit, you know,
- 29:37Speaker 4: and those would be like and I would literally sometimes
- 29:40Speaker 4: be in my dressing room, like trying not to cry
- 29:44Speaker 4: because I'm about to confront Bill about wanting more another
- 29:47Speaker 4: joke or wanting this or wanting that, because I wouldn't
- 29:50Speaker 4: want to be faisoned or some shit.
- 29:52Speaker 2: So what would you do? Would you give yourself a
- 29:53Speaker 2: bit of a pep talk?
- 29:54Speaker 4: Oh my god? Yeah, and I would like cry in
- 29:56Speaker 4: my room before you know, I'd be pulling like an
- 29:58Speaker 4: elliot in my room. Yeah, I freaked out, you know.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And was he receptive?
- 30:05Speaker 4: He was receptive. He was receptive, I think.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I mean, I have no idea what his reasoning was,
- 30:10Speaker 2: but I but it sounds like, just from hearing you
- 30:12Speaker 2: recount it, that that Carla was always the base of
- 30:18Speaker 2: the reality and and the gravitas and the drama. So
- 30:22Speaker 2: he didn't want her going into being too silly. But
- 30:26Speaker 2: it's funny in this episode, you do have some funny
- 30:28Speaker 2: ass shit.
- 30:28Speaker 3: I think I like the ninja stuff.
- 30:31Speaker 2: That was funny.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that was very.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Fun walking in with your girlfriend laughing and everything and
- 30:35Speaker 1: then getting caught out there. Yeah, yeah, that was I
- 30:41Speaker 1: was gonna say, I I didn't recall. To be honest,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I don't recall a lot of I say this every
- 30:46Speaker 1: single podcast. I don't recall a lot of scrubs when
- 30:51Speaker 1: watching it. But I didn't recall that you and Elliott
- 30:55Speaker 1: had such a rocky start. I always thought that you
- 30:58Speaker 1: guys had a great relation ship. But I do you
- 31:01Speaker 1: remember when it switched to where you guys became Was
- 31:05Speaker 1: it early on? Because like, even in this episode, you're
- 31:10Speaker 1: totally dissing her, you know, you like you know, and
- 31:14Speaker 1: and it seems like it's always that way. She puts
- 31:15Speaker 1: her foot in her mouth and you're like, I got
- 31:17Speaker 1: to get the hell away from this person. Carl's like
- 31:20Speaker 1: I got to get the hell away.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Well, in the beginning, Sarah was pretty disrespectful to Carla,
- 31:24Speaker 2: you know, like she you know, so I think I
- 31:26Speaker 2: would imagine, I mean, obviously I want to know your answer,
- 31:29Speaker 2: but my impression was that she was still feeling resentful
- 31:32Speaker 2: towards towards Elliott, right.
- 31:34Speaker 4: I think so. And I think it's more like she
- 31:37Speaker 4: she doesn't get it and she never will, you know
- 31:39Speaker 4: what I mean. And I think it's JD's impulse always
- 31:43Speaker 4: to just like smooth things sober over and fix things
- 31:48Speaker 4: and help other people understand that she's really not just awkward.
- 31:53Speaker 4: She's always screwing things up, just like you know, trying
- 31:55Speaker 4: to help people understand or explain people to other people,
- 31:59Speaker 4: you know what I mean? And I just I got
- 32:00Speaker 4: no time for this.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Do you recall when it switched over to Carla being
- 32:05Speaker 1: that person for Elliott, you know what I mean, where
- 32:08Speaker 1: Carla was making excuses for oh, this is just the
- 32:10Speaker 1: way she is. Did it ever switch over to that
- 32:12Speaker 1: or was Carla always.
- 32:14Speaker 4: I don't, I mean, I really don't. I know, I
- 32:18Speaker 4: know that it happened in this episode.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I don't know, well in this episode, even after you're like,
- 32:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry I did that, we all know the truth, right.
- 32:27Speaker 3: No, nobody want to hang out with Elliott.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Exactly, especially when she's rocking a neckerchief. Did you see
- 32:33Speaker 2: that neckerchief? And I thought that was really funny that moment,
- 32:39Speaker 2: it's around five six or so, when you guys are
- 32:42Speaker 2: walking into you're going out outfits and she's got her
- 32:45Speaker 2: khakis and her little like Scooby Doo, what's the character
- 32:50Speaker 2: in Scooby Doo that has the neckerchief? It was so random. Yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 2: that was her going out outfit.
- 32:57Speaker 4: So sanitary, and she puts her.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Foot in her mouth with your friend, Yes because she
- 33:04Speaker 2: has a son, right.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Yes, she has a son who's like really young, and
- 33:07Speaker 4: she's like, Wow, way to rob the cradle.
- 33:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna be I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I had a lot of issues with this episode as
- 33:16Speaker 1: far as stereotypes go. And I know this is the
- 33:18Speaker 1: episode with Stereo about stereotypes and everything like that, but
- 33:21Speaker 1: there's just so many things that, you know, one of
- 33:23Speaker 1: the lines Turk says in the show is like, you know,
- 33:26Speaker 1: all my whole life, people always assume that I'm a
- 33:28Speaker 1: good athlete, that I that I that I uh uh
- 33:33Speaker 1: was it. I'm a good athlete. I grew up poor
- 33:35Speaker 1: and I love Sanford and Son. Those things are kind
- 33:39Speaker 1: of true about me at.
- 33:42Speaker 3: The end of the day.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I'm a pretty decent athlete. I didn't grow up with
- 33:48Speaker 1: a lot of money, and I truly love Sanford and Son.
- 33:53Speaker 4: But it's the obvious exploitation of those things and trying
- 33:56Speaker 4: to me money off of that ship.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely, there's a there's a lot of deep things
- 34:02Speaker 1: that that we talk about in this episode. You know,
- 34:05Speaker 1: you you touched on it earlier, and that's why I
- 34:07Speaker 1: was saying it was such a great segue into this episode.
- 34:10Speaker 1: You know, people of color don't go to hospitals or
- 34:12Speaker 1: don't go to the doctor, you know what I mean.
- 34:14Speaker 1: And it's because they don't. My opinion is because they
- 34:17Speaker 1: don't see themselves when they go. They see a bunch
- 34:20Speaker 1: of other colors when they go, and that can be
- 34:22Speaker 1: very scary, you know what I mean. We touch on
- 34:24Speaker 1: it in this episode, but I feel like, yeah, I
- 34:27Speaker 1: understand why Turk's upset because you know, his face is
- 34:31Speaker 1: placid and he's being exploited to try and bring a
- 34:34Speaker 1: hip new crowd into the hospital and everything like that.
- 34:36Speaker 1: But there's something deeper in that one. I didn't know
- 34:39Speaker 1: that Sacred Heart was in the inner city. I had
- 34:41Speaker 1: no idea that it was an inner city hospital.
- 34:44Speaker 3: One.
- 34:44Speaker 2: You didn't this whole time.
- 34:46Speaker 1: This whole time, there's so listen hard people of color
- 34:50Speaker 1: in the right, in the in the hospital, you know
- 34:52Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 34:53Speaker 3: Uh and uh.
- 34:55Speaker 1: You know, at the end of the day, this was
- 34:58Speaker 1: something that really struck home with me. You know, we
- 35:00Speaker 1: talk about we talk about COVID now and how you know,
- 35:03Speaker 1: people of color are are a very high percentage of
- 35:07Speaker 1: people that are dying because we have so many underlying
- 35:10Speaker 1: conditions and stuff like that. But a lot of that
- 35:12Speaker 1: has to do with being afraid to go to the
- 35:15Speaker 1: doctor or to the hospital because when you go there,
- 35:19Speaker 1: they're either going to give you bad news or you're
- 35:21Speaker 1: gonna die, you know what I mean.
- 35:23Speaker 3: And I feel like it's so prevalent in this you
- 35:26Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 35:27Speaker 1: You know, we talk about it in this episode in
- 35:31Speaker 1: a small way, but that's what I took away from this.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I took what my takeaway from this was, you know,
- 35:38Speaker 1: it's more than just turk being exploited. It has everything
- 35:42Speaker 1: to do with, you know, how can we make health
- 35:45Speaker 1: care better for people of color? But my first thing was, wow,
- 35:49Speaker 1: I wish we truthfully need to figure out this healthcare
- 35:52Speaker 1: system when it comes to the stigmatism that people of
- 35:56Speaker 1: color have when they go to a hospital. When I
- 35:59Speaker 1: finished the episode, I was like, Okay, the lesson is
- 36:01Speaker 1: nobody wants to be taking advantage of and stand up
- 36:03Speaker 1: for yourself and everything like that.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I was like, but there's something deeper in that.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Also, where the hell did this kid and I get
- 36:09Speaker 1: this fucking imaginary football from?
- 36:11Speaker 2: I just started laughing at that too to each other.
- 36:14Speaker 2: At the end of the show, I was laughing at
- 36:15Speaker 2: that too. I was like, sweet a second, you were
- 36:17Speaker 2: stitching him up in an o R and then all
- 36:19Speaker 2: of a sudden, there's a football was there was on
- 36:21Speaker 2: the shelf.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Like how did this? How did this happen?
- 36:25Speaker 2: By the way, and that story, and that story's pretty
- 36:28Speaker 2: glossed over too. It's like, you got knifed, Yeah, you
- 36:31Speaker 2: got stabbed, Yeah, you got stabbed in the arm. Yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 2: let's toss a ball.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Let's play football, now you know what I mean. And
- 36:38Speaker 3: that's what I was sitting there. I was like, this
- 36:40Speaker 3: is some stereotypical bullshit.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah, he got knifed in the arm, and you were
- 36:46Speaker 2: then you're making some joke like I got this from
- 36:48Speaker 2: What was your joke? Like I, oh my my injuries from.
- 36:51Speaker 3: This or something like that.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, here, Jim, here's a ball.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Yeah, let's play catch.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Let's have a catch in the r. That wrestling fantasy
- 37:00Speaker 2: was pretty funny.
- 37:01Speaker 4: I think I love that I'm going to prove you.
- 37:04Speaker 3: I'm gonna prove you because I'm the in turn.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I was so excited to do that. I like pro
- 37:09Speaker 2: wrestling when I was.
- 37:10Speaker 3: A kid j D Macho man savage.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I accidentally freeze framed at seven oh six, and I
- 37:16Speaker 2: think it might be the most unattractive shot of me
- 37:18Speaker 2: in Scrub's history. It was like this wide angle lens
- 37:22Speaker 2: and I'm all up close to it, my giant nose, and.
- 37:26Speaker 1: And your hair likes show enough. You had hair like
- 37:28Speaker 1: show enough from the last Dragon two, by.
- 37:30Speaker 2: The way, I like my hair like that. I was
- 37:31Speaker 2: really enjoying it. I mean, the wig extension, whatever it is.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I think that they did a good job because I
- 37:37Speaker 2: wish I could rock hair like that. My hair would
- 37:39Speaker 2: never do that.
- 37:40Speaker 4: It wouldn't.
- 37:41Speaker 2: No, it wouldn't. It wouldn't be so glorious.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Neither would mine.
- 37:46Speaker 2: No, you have beautiful curly hair. I'm looking My hair
- 37:48Speaker 2: wouldn't be.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Like all straight and shite.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Judy talking about that bar scene at eight oh four.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Do you remember shooting that and it's the when you
- 37:56Speaker 2: when you show up and Sarah's drinking alone? Do you
- 37:58Speaker 2: remember shooting that? Or and that woman that you worked
- 38:01Speaker 2: with that I don't know. I'm sorry, I don't know
- 38:02Speaker 2: her name. I mean, you probably don't remember her naming there,
- 38:04Speaker 2: but I thought she did a good job.
- 38:06Speaker 4: No, she was super sweet, And I do remember like
- 38:09Speaker 4: the whole idea of doing that scene. I I just
- 38:12Speaker 4: loved the idea of fucking up on someone so badly,
- 38:16Speaker 4: you know, and just being so ugh, so uncomfortable around
- 38:21Speaker 4: someone that.
- 38:23Speaker 3: You would, uh hide under a table, you know, yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Hide under a table, do you know what I mean?
- 38:30Speaker 4: And having to like try to find ways to just
- 38:33Speaker 4: completely avoid them because you screwed up so badly. And
- 38:36Speaker 4: how I'm telling Turk, you're such a guy and you
- 38:40Speaker 4: don't fucking understand what's going on. And then Jad comes
- 38:44Speaker 4: and I'm so sorry what I did and they apologize
- 38:46Speaker 4: to each other like nothing happened.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Do you think that that's a good What do you
- 38:51Speaker 2: think the commentary is there that like men can communicate
- 38:54Speaker 2: with each other? I mean what I laughed at that,
- 38:56Speaker 2: but then I was thinking, like, what is what is
- 38:58Speaker 2: the social commentary there? Just the just that Turk and
- 39:01Speaker 2: GD have such a close relationship and they know how
- 39:03Speaker 2: to communicate.
- 39:04Speaker 4: I think so. I think they already apologize to each other,
- 39:07Speaker 4: but they want to say, listen, I hope you got me.
- 39:09Speaker 4: I'm really sorry for what happened. I didn't mean it,
- 39:11Speaker 4: I know, that you didn't mean it as cool, you
- 39:13Speaker 4: know what I mean? Just right after and I think
- 39:15Speaker 4: she realizes, like, shit, I really just have to go
- 39:18Speaker 4: confront her, you know where she's trying to avoid it.
- 39:21Speaker 4: I think, you know, guy, but these these guys they're
- 39:25Speaker 4: so they're such good friends that they're going to they're
- 39:29Speaker 4: not going to do that to their friendship, you know.
- 39:31Speaker 4: And he's and and Turk is looking off and then
- 39:33Speaker 4: you know we're getting there. She's looking at him like,
- 39:38Speaker 4: you know, go fuck yourself.
- 39:39Speaker 2: And then we did that. There's some sound effect on
- 39:41Speaker 2: our fist bump that's like hit me.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, their friendship isn't healed and by no
- 39:51Speaker 4: means of friendship. And and Aloma and I love that
- 39:54Speaker 4: whole and the whole nurse thing with like Aloma being
- 39:57Speaker 4: in the JD seek his his fucking evaluations so desperately
- 40:03Speaker 4: from Cox. I think fits into that story so well.
- 40:07Speaker 4: He's asking from Aloma and miss doctor Cox is there.
- 40:10Speaker 4: She's like, can't you see I'm watching my story? Yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 4: I remember that whole my story is thing being so
- 40:16Speaker 4: hilarious during that episode. I do remember, and everybody's like
- 40:19Speaker 4: quoting it all over the place.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Aloma was so funny. You could just give her anything, and.
- 40:23Speaker 4: She's just like one line and she's just magical. Yeah,
- 40:28Speaker 4: she comes and what Carla didn't give Elliott Laverne gave her.
- 40:35Speaker 4: You know it was Alma right, played so beautiful. She
- 40:38Speaker 4: because it just gives her. She goes, why so sad
- 40:40Speaker 4: Marshall meallow, and then she gives her a little hot
- 40:42Speaker 4: chocolate little marshmallow.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Did marshmallow stick Marshall? Did it? Did?
- 40:47Speaker 4: I think it did? Yeah?
- 40:49Speaker 2: We think Carla and Nurse Roberts were friends outside of work. Yes, yeah, absolutely,
- 40:55Speaker 2: that story never got told. I want to see I
- 40:57Speaker 2: want to see the Nurse Roberts Carla Vegas trip.
- 41:04Speaker 3: Did Aloma ever go with us to Vegas? Did she
- 41:06Speaker 3: go with us to Vegas for the rap?
- 41:08Speaker 2: I think so. I think Alma was. I think Alma
- 41:10Speaker 2: was religious and she wasn't.
- 41:11Speaker 1: She was staying away from that. Jesus will not be there.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I know that I.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Think she would have done been at the slot machine
- 41:23Speaker 4: the whole time.
- 41:23Speaker 3: But do you remember that Vegas trip?
- 41:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 41:27Speaker 3: We went twice, do you know that? I don't know.
- 41:31Speaker 1: We went for one one time we went for like
- 41:33Speaker 1: a birthday and then another time we went for.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Am I wrong? I might be wrong.
- 41:39Speaker 2: I don't know. Well, we definitely went for to shoot
- 41:41Speaker 2: this thing with the Blue Man Group, and then we
- 41:44Speaker 2: stayed and had a party, right.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Yes, No, that was the Rap Party.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Was the Rap Party and the Blue Man Group thing
- 41:50Speaker 2: the same trip. No, there were two trips to Vegas.
- 41:54Speaker 3: There were like three or four trips to What a
- 41:57Speaker 3: good deal? Great deal?
- 42:00Speaker 1: That's another question. When the last time any of you
- 42:02Speaker 1: have been to Vegas.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I don't think it's wise for me to go to
- 42:05Speaker 2: Vegas anymore.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember when I went to Vegas, and I
- 42:09Speaker 4: think Bill was I was like, I've never played poker
- 42:12Speaker 4: or I've never played lette. Come on, come on, you
- 42:15Speaker 4: can do it. You could do it, you could do it.
- 42:16Speaker 4: And I played and I beat him and he got pissed.
- 42:20Speaker 3: That's I remember Bill.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Bill Laurin says one of the best quotes about Vegas
- 42:24Speaker 2: that I always think about, and he goes, I've never
- 42:25Speaker 2: had a good second night in Vegas.
- 42:28Speaker 4: It's the day.
- 42:31Speaker 2: You gotta go and get the fuck out and get out,
- 42:34Speaker 2: get out. Donald. I once went to Vegas with Donald
- 42:37Speaker 2: and Jude on many I've been to Vegas many times
- 42:40Speaker 2: with Donald. But once he uh, we were playing blackjack
- 42:43Speaker 2: and he got crushed and he went upstairs and went
- 42:47Speaker 2: to sleep. It was like nine thirty. He was so
- 42:50Speaker 2: mad that how badly he got beaten blackjack that he
- 42:53Speaker 2: just he said, dismounted. And I don't think you came
- 42:55Speaker 2: back out. You went to bed at like nine thirty.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Well, I came out the next day. I met y'all
- 43:01Speaker 1: at the pool the next day.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Get a good night's sleep, Yeah, sleep. I wanted to
- 43:06Speaker 2: say that billboard at nine fifty eight, that that that
- 43:09Speaker 2: Kelso has made was really up. So nowadays that would
- 43:13Speaker 2: be a visual effect, but back in two thousand and one,
- 43:15Speaker 2: they made that billboard and it was and I remember
- 43:17Speaker 2: it was up for a little while, right Donald.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't realize that the rainbow flag was behind
- 43:22Speaker 1: it though.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Well.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Diversity, Yeah, you know what I thought.
- 43:26Speaker 1: The diversity was the fact that a white guy and
- 43:28Speaker 1: a black guy could work at the same hospital together.
- 43:31Speaker 3: That black guy was gay, not that the black guy
- 43:33Speaker 3: was gay.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Remember, I remember that they took down all the posters
- 43:38Speaker 4: in the hospital, but they left the was up up
- 43:40Speaker 4: for a while.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Those were hilarious, by the way, I wish I was.
- 43:44Speaker 2: When I was watching this episode, I was I wish
- 43:46Speaker 2: I had one of those as a souvenir.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Time to get an EKGG would be hanging up in
- 43:51Speaker 1: my house, dude.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Time to get an ekg G is my favorite one.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I wanted to say that A ten
- 43:58Speaker 2: o eight is when you get mad at me. We're
- 43:59Speaker 2: in car about the billboard and then I do an
- 44:02Speaker 2: homage to the movie Vacation where I go roll them up.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Do you remember that? Do you remember? Do you remember
- 44:08Speaker 2: in the movie Vacation when Chevy Chase is frantically they
- 44:10Speaker 2: end up in a bad neighborhood and they're stealing their
- 44:12Speaker 2: their their tired, their hubcaps, and there's they hear a
- 44:15Speaker 2: gunshot and chevy Chase goes roll them up, roll out
- 44:18Speaker 2: the windows.
- 44:21Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 44:22Speaker 2: So I just recognize my homage to Vacation there, and then.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Also said keep it real.
- 44:27Speaker 1: You also said keep it real in the scene where
- 44:29Speaker 1: you come where we apologize to it. Yes, after the
- 44:33Speaker 1: fist bump, you said keep it real.
- 44:34Speaker 3: That's a bit of a bit of an homage to
- 44:36Speaker 3: I would say.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Oh to chevy Chase, No to clueless, Oh to clueless sorry,
- 44:42Speaker 2: ten forty one. This is the Sandford and Son thing,
- 44:45Speaker 2: which is pretty funny. And I laughed out loud when
- 44:48Speaker 2: you did it, like reluctantly. You did your you're sad,
- 44:52Speaker 2: like I try and get you into the Sandford sonthing
- 44:55Speaker 2: and then you sort of.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Well, I do it because I can't really help it.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but it's it's this. You had this look
- 45:03Speaker 2: on your face, is like so reluctant but you can't
- 45:05Speaker 2: help it.
- 45:05Speaker 3: But I can't help it. We're purp, We're better.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and then it cuts and then it cuts to
- 45:14Speaker 2: an ass slapping dance where we're seeing.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Yes, it's just dirt.
- 45:20Speaker 2: That's a special moment in Scrubs history with us both
- 45:23Speaker 2: dancing and as slapping. Bill had reference to you being
- 45:26Speaker 2: on the brochure twice when he's on this is the
- 45:28Speaker 2: moment that happens eleven thirty four.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Now, he said this was a problem that he some
- 45:33Speaker 1: people got mad about it.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I'm sure people get mad at everything, but I think
- 45:36Speaker 2: this was a real story. I think, as I understand,
- 45:39Speaker 2: this was taken from a real anecdote where a coology
- 45:41Speaker 2: had gotten caught putting the same person on the on
- 45:44Speaker 2: the brochure twice. We're gonna take a quick break and
- 45:47Speaker 2: we'll be right back.
- 45:55Speaker 1: And we are back before we want to jump in,
- 45:58Speaker 1: before we started, before we started.
- 46:00Speaker 4: This is Tiffany.
- 46:01Speaker 7: Hi, Tiffany th Inster being here.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Tiffany, how are you?
- 46:05Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, sorry, this is beautiful, super excited.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Guys.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Wait, Joelle, what did you want to say? Befo, we
- 46:15Speaker 2: want to get all this what did you want to say?
- 46:17Speaker 7: So this is a surprise for Tiffany's husband, so he
- 46:20Speaker 7: does not know that he's about you want to talk
- 46:22Speaker 7: to you guys?
- 46:23Speaker 4: Why Tishany.
- 46:26Speaker 2: That's really nice.
- 46:27Speaker 4: That's really nice of you too.
- 46:29Speaker 2: So, Tiffany, he has no clue that he's going to
- 46:31Speaker 2: speak to the three of us.
- 46:32Speaker 5: No, he has absolutely no idea that our anniversary is
- 46:36Speaker 5: on Friday, nine years well, nine years married this year,
- 46:38Speaker 5: best anniversary present.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Ever anything, goodness ever again?
- 46:44Speaker 6: So what do you are you?
- 46:45Speaker 3: Are you also in your closet? Yes, Faison style right,
- 46:48Speaker 3: no doubt.
- 46:50Speaker 2: And Judy Ray's style is.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Judy Rays is in her closet too.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Now, Tiffany, what are you going to tell him? Are
- 46:56Speaker 2: you going to say that you guys get get on
- 46:57Speaker 2: a zoom.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Are you gonna be like it right now, get him
- 47:01Speaker 3: the closet.
- 47:02Speaker 2: No, don't, don't that he'll be disappointed if he finds
- 47:04Speaker 2: out it's us and his wife's luring him too. The closet.
- 47:06Speaker 5: Yeah, he has, he has no idea. I had to
- 47:08Speaker 5: come up with a very elaborate ruse to try to
- 47:11Speaker 5: work all this out. I'm a horrible liar. So he
- 47:13Speaker 5: either thinks I'm having some kind of breakdown or hiding
- 47:16Speaker 5: something from him. So well, the big reveal is going
- 47:18Speaker 5: to be fabulous.
- 47:18Speaker 2: So what's the plan? How do we best form you?
- 47:20Speaker 4: How do you do this?
- 47:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 47:22Speaker 5: He thinks I'm in the closet right now on an
- 47:24Speaker 5: important work phone call, and so I was going to
- 47:26Speaker 5: go out there and say I need tech support.
- 47:28Speaker 3: I can't. I can't log into the call it go
- 47:31Speaker 3: do it, go do it right now?

- 47:38Speaker 5: just a fair warning. Looks like I got hit in
- 47:40Speaker 5: the face with a suck of marvel.
- 47:41Speaker 3: So don't worry.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna be a horror CRY's going to virtually hug you.
- 47:45Speaker 3: And we're fake doctor. So we're used to, so we're
- 47:47Speaker 3: kind of used to.
- 47:49Speaker 2: We see lots of fake emotion.
- 47:51Speaker 5: Yeah, nice, Okay, I'm gonna bear it back.
- 47:53Speaker 2: This is exciting. Good work, Joel, good producing, Joel. This
- 47:57Speaker 2: is this is this really added a little little spice.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I'm nervous, are you guys nervous? I don't want him
- 48:03Speaker 2: to be disappointed? What if he's like, oh I thought
- 48:05Speaker 2: Donald's drunk.
- 48:05Speaker 3: He doesn't feel Donald's drunk. Hold on, guys, I've got
- 48:10Speaker 3: a nice little buzz going.
- 48:11Speaker 4: Oh god, I'm really stressed out.
- 48:16Speaker 5: These are just my my coworkers that are from the call.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Hi, Hey, hey, your coworkers.

- 50:06Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 50:07Speaker 3: I'm not crying.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Well you will be.
- 50:09Speaker 3: I'm not gonna cry.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Well anyway, Hi, We're so glad that you like our
- 50:13Speaker 2: little TV show and and and we just wanted to say,
- 50:15Speaker 2: have the anniversary. And if you wanted to ask us
- 50:17Speaker 2: anything or or anything, we're here to answer questions. It
- 50:21Speaker 2: could be about the show, it could be about your life,
- 50:23Speaker 2: whatever you want.
- 50:25Speaker 6: I feel like I feel like when you met Lando,
- 50:32Speaker 6: I mean, don't do it.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Donald him a little Lando.
- 50:40Speaker 1: You know, here's a little here's a little, here's a
- 50:43Speaker 1: little trivia. I was doing like a celebration. So Star
- 50:47Speaker 1: Wars has a celebration every year, right, and I was
- 50:51Speaker 1: doing a celebration one of the celebrations because I voiced
- 50:54Speaker 1: one of the characters on a Star Wars television show.
- 50:59Speaker 1: And yeah, somebody told me that Billy D Williams was
- 51:02Speaker 1: next door and that I should go say hi to him.
- 51:05Speaker 1: And I got really excited. I was like, oh, snap,
- 51:08Speaker 1: Billy D wants to say hi to me. Okay, let
- 51:10Speaker 1: me go say hi. So I walked into the room
- 51:12Speaker 1: and I you know, there's a bunch of people in
- 51:14Speaker 1: line and they're waiting to say hi to Billy D
- 51:16Speaker 1: and take picture with him.
- 51:17Speaker 3: And I walk into I go.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Grison and he jumps and then he looks over at
- 51:24Speaker 1: me and he's like the lines over there, Oh my god.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Oh my god, you must have been crushed. He's like,
- 51:34Speaker 2: you broke my heart.
- 51:35Speaker 3: It broke my heart.
- 51:36Speaker 2: In your mind, my heart in your mind. You thought
- 51:38Speaker 2: he was going to be like, don come over here.
- 51:46Speaker 6: Oh my god.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Anyway, so if you have any questions that you want
- 51:52Speaker 3: to ask, don't.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Be don't be shy, tell us ask us anything. He's
- 51:57Speaker 2: your favorite guest star.
- 51:59Speaker 3: I guess favorite guest.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Star, favorite guest star. Do you want to go first?
- 52:03Speaker 2: As since you're our favorite guest ever I had, I.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Could tell you the first most shocking guest star because
- 52:11Speaker 4: I don't know. I'm like that, I don't necessarily get starstruck.
- 52:14Speaker 4: But I remember the first time I remember we had
- 52:17Speaker 4: Eric Strada. Yes, and he was on the You guys
- 52:22Speaker 4: remember Erica Strata from Chips.
- 52:25Speaker 1: For those of you out there who don't, who don't
- 52:27Speaker 1: remember the show Chips, Uh, there was an actor on
- 52:30Speaker 1: the show by the name of Erica Strada who was
- 52:32Speaker 1: America's heart throb back in the day.
- 52:35Speaker 4: Yes, and he wasn't supposed to be the star guy
- 52:37Speaker 4: who was supposed to be starting the show. Who knows
- 52:39Speaker 4: nobody remembers his name? I remember him.
- 52:42Speaker 1: That's a character's named Erica Strada is the actual name
- 52:45Speaker 1: of the dude who played punch.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Well, can you tell us his name? Please? I feel dission.
- 52:51Speaker 4: Myself too. But nonetheless, when I came in to hearing
- 52:54Speaker 4: makeup and and there was Erica Strata getting his he
- 52:58Speaker 4: was just doing like a you know, like a real
- 53:00Speaker 4: quick guest appearance. And I saw him, I was like,
- 53:04Speaker 4: by just standing in the same room with this guy,
- 53:06Speaker 4: I couldn't even speak, and now I have a big
- 53:08Speaker 4: giant I did. I remember Wayne Brady had a talk
- 53:12Speaker 4: show at that time, and I told him that story
- 53:16Speaker 4: and he gave me a giant poster of Eric Astratta
- 53:20Speaker 4: that I still have in my garage of Eric Astrata
- 53:22Speaker 4: hot pants.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I remember. I remember that Eric Estrada were really tight
- 53:27Speaker 2: tight motorcycle pants.
- 53:29Speaker 3: They all did. By the way, the actors was will Cox.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Larry Larry Wilcox, Yes, my apologies.
- 53:38Speaker 2: All right, well you know you didn't didn't have his name,
- 53:40Speaker 2: but we want to make sure we get it out
- 53:41Speaker 2: there to respect all members of the Screen Actors Guild. Donald,
- 53:44Speaker 2: who is your favorite guest?
- 53:46Speaker 3: Jar Billy d Williams.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Obviously I really enjoyed, uh when Colin Farrell came on
- 53:51Speaker 1: the show.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Love Colin Farrell. I like that all of us men
- 53:56Speaker 4: and women almost made up with him.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Sarah really early was excited to make out of him.
- 54:01Speaker 1: And then of course Brendan Fraser man like yes, oh,
- 54:05Speaker 1: and also and also Ryan Reynolds.
- 54:07Speaker 2: You're supposed to pick one, Donald if.
- 54:10Speaker 3: I if I have to pick one.
- 54:11Speaker 2: The exercise was to pick one, not just starting off
- 54:14Speaker 2: famous people.
- 54:15Speaker 3: Oh well, then for me it would have to be
- 54:20Speaker 3: Billy D. Williams.
- 54:22Speaker 2: For me, it was John Ridder, hands down, because John
- 54:27Speaker 2: Ridder when I was a kid. You'll hear me say
- 54:28Speaker 2: this over and over again. I my intro at physical
- 54:31Speaker 2: comedy was Three's Company. I just thought that was the
- 54:33Speaker 2: funniest shit I had ever seen in my life. And
- 54:37Speaker 2: John Ritter doing physical comedy was just He's a man.
- 54:42Speaker 2: He could fall over a couch like like no one,
- 54:44Speaker 2: and I just thought he was a master. And then
- 54:47Speaker 2: so when he came on to play my father, I
- 54:49Speaker 2: was just gushing. I was just I loved him so much.
- 54:52Speaker 2: And in fact, he was supposed to come back for
- 54:55Speaker 2: the second time. Literally he was going to shoot Monday,
- 54:58Speaker 2: and I believe he died that weekend, the weekend, No,
- 55:02Speaker 2: the week he died the if not the night before.
- 55:06Speaker 1: No, Yeah, he was supposed to come in and he
- 55:08Speaker 1: passed away after they wrapped or while they were making
- 55:11Speaker 1: the show that he was on at the time, And
- 55:13Speaker 1: he was going to come and do our show the
- 55:15Speaker 1: next day, right, And and it's really amazing how quickly
- 55:18Speaker 1: Tom Cavanaugh, who was not scheduled to be on the show,
- 55:21Speaker 1: showed up to be on the episode, and how they
- 55:24Speaker 1: changed it around and make it so that so that
- 55:27Speaker 1: John Ritter's character had passed away on the show as well.
- 55:30Speaker 2: They had to frantically rewrite it. But that that's mine.
- 55:33Speaker 2: I mean, I'm literally getting goosebumps as I tell this story.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Just and I and I had him. I have a
- 55:39Speaker 2: framed wall on my on my in my house of
- 55:41Speaker 2: all these framed family pictures and Donald's on there a
- 55:44Speaker 2: few times, of course, and there was literally one of
- 55:47Speaker 2: the most prominent pictures was a picture of me and
- 55:50Speaker 2: John Ritter, just because he was just so important to
- 55:53Speaker 2: me and I loved him a lot.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I remember when he said my name the first time,
- 55:57Speaker 1: and it caught me. It kind of caught me off guard,
- 55:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I was, holy cow, Wow,
- 56:01Speaker 1: John Rettan knows my name?
- 56:02Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 56:03Speaker 1: I as you did, Zach. I also grew up one
- 56:06Speaker 1: Three's company, and uh yeah, I that that's a that's
- 56:11Speaker 1: a you know what. As much as I love Billy D. Williams,
- 56:14Speaker 1: meeting John Ritter was and Michael J. Fox also were
- 56:18Speaker 1: highlights for me.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, how about another question, because now that
- 56:23Speaker 2: it looks like your face has has settled in a
- 56:25Speaker 2: little bit. You're not stunned as much anymore right now.
- 56:27Speaker 3: I I you know, your eyes aren't knocking.
- 56:32Speaker 2: I another I don't know if I have another question, Tiffany.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Do you have any question?
- 56:38Speaker 2: Tiffany? How about you?
- 56:41Speaker 5: Would you guys ever consider doing a live taping so
- 56:44Speaker 5: that we could go and see you and yeah, after
- 56:48Speaker 5: obviously after all the COVID nineteen stuff, but well, you.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Know, you know, well go ahead, you're gonna say, yeah, Donald,
- 56:54Speaker 2: I will Donald.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Want to do that.
- 56:56Speaker 1: We just don't know when all of this is going
- 56:58Speaker 1: to go away, you know what I mean. I don't
- 57:01Speaker 1: know where you guys are. We're in Los Angeles right now,
- 57:04Speaker 1: and we have strict policies in Los Angeles, as we
- 57:08Speaker 1: should we you know, we have a lot of COVID
- 57:10Speaker 1: patients here, and so I don't.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Know, well, even COVID aside, there's no plans to do
- 57:15Speaker 2: anything like that. And in fact, you know, Scrubs was
- 57:17Speaker 2: shot like a film, not in from an audience, although
- 57:20Speaker 2: as you recall, we did that that one sitcom spoof
- 57:24Speaker 2: where we did it in front of a live audience.
- 57:26Speaker 2: That was yeah, that was Look, you know, it's the
- 57:28Speaker 2: title you are good. That was a lot of fun,
- 57:31Speaker 2: you know, because I never donald this, had done sitcoms before.
- 57:33Speaker 2: I had never done a sitcom.
- 57:35Speaker 4: Uh no, I mean I've done I did a pilot,
- 57:40Speaker 4: and I did a guest.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Star, and I had done theater. But but there was
- 57:43Speaker 2: it was really fun doing that. That's do you guys
- 57:45Speaker 2: remember that. I just remember thinking like, oh, now I
- 57:50Speaker 2: see the allure of doing this to come. It's such
- 57:51Speaker 2: a high, Like the audience is so amped up, it's
- 57:54Speaker 2: like cold, and they've got a lot of sugar and
- 57:57Speaker 2: uh and they just laugh at whatever you do and
- 58:00Speaker 2: and and we were Obviously it was a well written episode,
- 58:03Speaker 2: so it was genuinely funny. But I remember really thinking like, oh,
- 58:06Speaker 2: that could be fun to do.
- 58:07Speaker 4: Are you guys in the medical industry at all? I'm
- 58:10Speaker 4: just curious because you're such enormous fans. O.
- 58:13Speaker 1: No, no, no, I was military for I was army
- 58:16Speaker 1: for a little bit.
- 58:17Speaker 2: But h where do you guys live Northern California?
- 58:20Speaker 6: Patterson It's right up the five on the other side
- 58:22Speaker 6: of the Bay Area.
- 58:23Speaker 3: Oh so you guys are in the Bay Area.
- 58:25Speaker 2: We could be over in like five and a half
- 58:26Speaker 2: hours if you guys can make.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Us dinner anytime, anytime with your cooking. What's your cooking tonight, tacos?
- 58:36Speaker 3: It's Wednesday left.
- 58:37Speaker 4: Over Wednesday over here as well.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Really, guys, let's head up there. We're driving separate cars
- 58:43Speaker 2: and we'll sit in here in your backyard.
- 58:47Speaker 1: We will maintain safe distancing, I promise you.
- 58:50Speaker 2: Well, thank you so much for what a great surprise
- 58:53Speaker 2: and uh and our pleasure show and anniversary anniversary, Tiffany,
- 58:59Speaker 2: you are a good wife. I got to say, it
- 59:01Speaker 2: is a good surprise.
- 59:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:02Speaker 5: I'm never gonna have to buy anything ever again. I'm
- 59:04Speaker 5: just gonna I'm just gonna, you know, take a picture
- 59:06Speaker 5: of that, and you know, just like that's it every year,
- 59:09Speaker 5: remember twenty twenty, that's what I take the picture.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Now, let's take the picture and let me get let
- 59:12Speaker 1: me get fresh for you, let me get us for you.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Yes, of course, okay, make sure you get Joel too.
- 59:21Speaker 2: And that's how well always remember that, that's how well
- 59:23Speaker 2: always remember them.
- 59:24Speaker 6: Oh my god, yeah, accidentally I should have heard him them.
- 59:28Speaker 3: He's like.
- 59:30Speaker 2: The screams, oh my god.
- 59:34Speaker 5: Wow, this guys, you were just totally awesome and thank
- 59:37Speaker 5: you for doing this. Where we're watching pleasure, watching the show,
- 59:40Speaker 5: listening to the podcast.
- 59:41Speaker 4: It's just awesome right now.
- 59:43Speaker 2: Thank you. We're having so much fun doing and it
- 59:45Speaker 2: means a lot to us that that you're loving listening
- 59:47Speaker 2: and and please stay safe up there and enjoy Taco Wednesday.
- 59:51Speaker 3: Be healthy.
- 59:53Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Bye, guys, guys.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Bye.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you technically are supposed to hang up, but okay,
- 59:59Speaker 2: you don't have to be.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: We can be together forever. I like it. I like it. Judy,
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: let's do that.
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: You're rocking the curly hair.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: No no, but really hang up now because we got
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: a rest.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Of get the fuck Outriuez.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: Is getting the out.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: I love y'all. Thank you, Thank you so much, guys,
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: thank you.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Welcome Josh. That was great, Joelle, Joel. I don't know
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: how a caller can I mean, you really brought it.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: How did you do that?
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: I don't know how anyone's ever going to compete with that,
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: I wanted to really quickly get some tips. If you
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: guys want to write in a letter, make sure your
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: subject line is just really expressive. That's going to pop out.
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: It's like we have thousands and thousands of letters for
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: people wanting to call in and so just you know whatever,
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: you can put your question in there, if you have
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: a good one, if you have a good story, we'll
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: probably wait till we surprise someone. So don't try to
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: set that up just yet.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: You know, no words top that bitches.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Well, listen, we should, we should remind you well if
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: you do, even though Joel says she's getting thousands of them.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: If you do want to ask a question, you go
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: to write an email to scrubs iHeart at gmail dot com.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Find a way to stand out and and it'll all
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: be up to Joel's eyeballs. Who gets to come on?
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Yeah, don't blame me if you call in, and if
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: you try to call in, or you'd send an email
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: and you don't get a response, it's not my fault.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: You blame Joel.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: You're not gonna believe this. But Donald's not the one
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: sifting through the thousands of emails.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you blame Joel, You blame Joel.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: It's you gotta put some bass in your face.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: In your voice. You're gonna fall for no banana in
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: the tailpipe.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: You're not gonna fall for now the nana in the tailpipe.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: I ain't gonna fall too.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: Much.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: Wait a minute, no banana, no tailpipe?
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: What alright? So I was gonna say something. I was
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: gonna say something.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Go ahead, got notes. I'm so impressed.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: I always have notes this from I always have no
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: to good.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: I didn't know that you were always rocking notes. I
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: just thought you were making drinks of there in the close.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: No boy, go ahead, Doctor Kelse Turk and this doctor Turk.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: He calls him doctor Turk now right, and not Turkleton.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: So does this mess up the lore that Kelso doesn't
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: know Turk's last name is Turkleton and he's just calling
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: him doctor Turk like he would call uh doctor Dorrian doctor.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: He would therefore be calling doctor Dorriyan doctor John. Or
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: did they decide somewhere down the line, This is a
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: good Bill Lawrence question. Did they decide somewhere down the
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: line that Kelso just forgot Turk's name altogether?
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Okay, we'll ask Bill that here, Joelle, what was what
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: was the intention? I imagine that someone just missed it and
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: uh and decided it would be funny later on. If
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: if Kelso had no idea what your name and thought
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: your name was Turk Turkleton, which is very funny.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: That's that's one of the funniest that's when. That's another
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: thing that I really loved. I've been spewing about this,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Judy because I really feel like our relationship is the one.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, they follow JD and Elliott throughout the show,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: but our relationship from the gate, from the beginning of
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: the show to season eight is is you know, you
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: watch it grow, and by season three, when we finally
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: get into the wedding and all of that stuff, I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: really felt like it was earned. By the time we
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: got there, you know what I mean, Like we had
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: been through so many the characters had been through so
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: many things, and so you know, when I look back
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: at all of this stuff, when I look back at
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: me singing Missus Jones and you know, me hiding in
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: your in your closet at your mom's house, and then
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: when you finally decide to move in, and you know,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: there's a breakup between Turk and Carl and all of
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: that stuff before they get married, I feel like it's
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: really earned. And I don't necessarily remember how the episode
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: of us getting married turns out, but I just remember
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: it feeling so epic when we were shooting it.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: You know what I mean, because.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: All of this stuff that we had been through and
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: the first few seasons were coming to a head at
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: at that point, and I just felt like our romance
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: on the show was just you know, I said it
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: to Bill, I think I thought it was perfect.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: You didn't.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: You didn't necessarily need to watch the show to understand
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: that Turk and Carla were the.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Were they lung together? Yeah, were strength and the foundation. Yeah,
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: a part of that, like in essence, kind of like
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: the way the episode ends, it's kind of like the
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: reason you belong in this place. And the way these
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: people together like a family, it's kind of like, you know,
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: they're like that parental force, the place that you belong,
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: the reason that you feel like you go there, you
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: know what I mean, like meant to be, you know,
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: by the the fuck ups and the breakups and the
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: ups and the downs. They're funny together. They understand each other.
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: He's silly where she's a little too serious, because you
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: can't have them both be silly at the same time,
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: you know what I mean. She's she's got him. Yeah,
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: she grounds him, and she grounds like a lot of
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: other people, you know what I mean, Where she begs
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: to be light when she's not. You know, she has
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: to like loosen up sometimes, you know what I mean.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: Where she teaches people about the place that they're in,
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: you know, where she where, she has to be taken
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: out of there sometimes, kind of like cos has to
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: be taken out of there sometimes, you know what I mean.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: So it's they they pull each other out of where
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: they are and they bring each other to where they have.
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: To be.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Very much and yang, you know what I mean.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I remember somebody asking me, you know, what do you
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: have in common with your wife? I was like, well,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I don't have that much in common with my wife,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: to be honest with you. We do love each other
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: passionately and stuff like that. That's the one thing we
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: do have in common. But we're not necessarily the same people.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: And I think that's very much the same with Chris,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Turk and Carla. I think that the two of them,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: they might be both from the Inner I don't even
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: know that Turk is from the Inner City.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: I know Carl is from the Inner City.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: But Turk, in this episode, we discovered that he was
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: always the black dude in this situation, you know what
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: I mean. Even in the Science Fair where they give
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: him the Blue ribbon even though he didn't compete in
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: the science fair, and also at college, because they weren't
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: a lot of black kids at the college, they put
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: him in the brochure twice. But anyway, my point is
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: their personalities aren't necessarily the same, but they complement each
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: other so well.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that is like you and Casey. I mean, it's
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: funny you say that because you guys are so perfect together,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: but yeah, Ying Yang is the perfect.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: We're completely different.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: I think that's so different.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: Yeah. I think that's what worked about Carla and Turk.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Carla is so serious and Turk's such a fucking goofball,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: but you put him together and you get like the
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: perfect couple.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: I want to just touch on the scene with Johnny
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: c brates me at eighteen eighteen in the conference room.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I thought Johnny's performance there was really really good and
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: it's a really powerful scene. It was an early moment
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: in Scrubs where he's just laying all out there. There's
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: no score that's sort of forcing your your emotions. It
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: was just like him just laying in to me. I
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: thought he was really good there.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: I thought it was great in it, and I you know,
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: I watched it twice, the episode, and I remember when
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: I first what I do remember about the episode and
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: having seen when I saw it initially, it was like
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: he's just so hard on him. We know, but I'm
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: a parent now and my husband, who's like coaches sucker
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: is hard like that, and he's hard like that on
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: my daughter, and I get it, do you know what
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: I mean? It was like shit, I get it. You know.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: It's like a person who wants approval can be so
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: satisfied with being liked and everybody being okay with you know,
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: thinking that you're good or being approved by everyone around you,
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: instead of knowing that the job that they're doing is
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: a good job, or you knowing that what you did
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: was well done, instead of people liking you or liking
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: what you did, you know, And that's a really hard
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: place to be when you have to look at yourself,
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. And watching it was like shit,
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: that was so good, which Johnny C is Like, no
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: one's harder on Johnny C than Johnny Z. You know
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: what I mean.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he really brought it. I mean, I just I thought,
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: you know, it's a pretty big speech he had and
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: he just I don't know. I got goosebumps when I
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: was watching it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: But he's relentless like that.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: There's a funny moment in nineteen forty nine when Elliott
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: offers to give your friend valume. I'm like, a doctor's
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: allowed to do that? Like, your friend is upset because
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: her son got stabbed, and don't worry, We're going to
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: set you up with a volume in an IV drip.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: I was like, what that's a thing.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: That I mean, it's if it's not, it should be
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: because I would need it if my kid got stabbed.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you that right now.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: I just didn't know. I didn't know if you're I
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: just didn't know if doctors are allowed to like just
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: start throwing around valume for people that are upset, well
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: with the stuff.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: That's out now, that's like nothing. So I'll give you
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: two xanax and an opiate. Really fine.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: He's like, I'm worried. I'm worried about you. I'm gonna
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: set you up in a room with a valume and
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: a drip. I was like, really, go Elliott in an inner.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: City hospital with people like pouring out the doors. But
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: you know you got to work for you.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: That's what's messed up.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: It's an inner city hospital that's so heavily that so
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: heavily relies on insurance.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: It was twenty years ago, Fazon.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I just saying, this ship is still prevalent, and this
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: is still real today though I'm just keeping it one hundred.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: At nineteen fifty eight. It maybe the very first occurrence
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: of the sad Scrubs queue. That's the first time I
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: heard it.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: Okay, but those are your weekscues.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Who don't know this Scrubs cue will go on for
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: a really long time until finally we started making fun
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: of it so much.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that JD starts commenting on the side SCA.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Right, and it gets taken out of the show because
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: of that.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I think what happened was the season does it get
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: taken out?
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I think the composer. The composer made it like a
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: handful of cues, and then these guys just use the
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: same cues over and over again. There's not that many,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: you know, when we don't use music, there's not that
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: many scrubs cues. It's like bounce bow that was that
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: would be like a sting when something funny happened just go.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Bound after something Robert said to get everything, Match said Benine,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Benine and a half.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Down, that's the janitor, but nine but nine and a half.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Donald, I thought that was.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: That's the episode where I have to look at the janitors.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: I catch a look at the janitor's penis and I
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: and I noticed that there's a mole on it and
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: I and then I have to inspect it and I go,
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: it's Benign and he goes, Benign be nine and a half.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: I thought that was the time that said that this
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: whole time. That's hilarious.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Like I said, I don't remember this show I was on,
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: and I don't remember much about it.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Well, that's the show, guys, that's the episode pretty much. Yeah, Judy,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: will you will you come do this more? Because I
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: think we really like having you on. I hope I
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: can speak for my co host Donald Thaks.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I would love it if you came back anytime you
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: want to, and we will make that happen.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: And Judy, since you are one of my favorite guests
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: to ever be on our little podcast, and also because
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: you have a beautiful voice, I thought you could be
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: the first one to ever count us in to our
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: our theme song that ends the show. Donald prefers to
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: go five six seven eight. I I don't know how
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: you feel you can count in any way.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: You so choose is five six seven eight?
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, Donald, however you want to do it, it's
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: all right with it.
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: This is like five six seven eight.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: That'll work, that could work.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, but let's do it for real now. Okay,
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: here we go.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: That was pretty good.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Okay, but I want to just yeah, Judy Rayes, we
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: love you, thank you for coming on the podcast. Count
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: us into our theme.
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: Song five six seven stories.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: I'm not sure.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: We made about a bunch of talks and nurses, and.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: He said, here's the stories nels. So yeada ra here,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: yeada here
