It's a Friday, so to each and every one of you, happy Friday.

Now, friends, let's take a journey, okay?

Into one of the life's greatest unsolved mysteries.

Not about UFOs. It's not about the Bermuda Triangle. Nope.

It's about the socks. That's right. The mystery of the missing socks from the dryer.

Think about it. You put it in a nice, even load of laundry.

You've got 10 socks, five pairs. Of course.

Everything matched up and accounted for. You hit the start.

You go, make a cup of coffee.

Maybe you catch up on the news. And when you come back, what happens?

You pull them out of the dryer. And suddenly you've got five and two and a half pairs.

One is missing. Where did it go?

Someday there's a secret portal somewhere. Somewhere there's a secret portal.

That secret portal is somewhere in the dryer that leads to another dimension.

Others say that the dryer eats socks as a snack.

And then, let's be honest, we've all done the sock hunt.

Under the bed, behind the machine, in the hamper, even in a fitted sheet.

Somehow, somehow, that sock still vanishes. It vanishes into the air.

I mean, come on. If socks could talk, I imagine one of them saying,

listen, I've had enough of this laundry life.

I'm out here. I'm leaving.

Now, you might be thinking, Angel, how in the world are you going to take this

message of the missing socks to the Bible?

Well, stick with me. You see, the missing sock reminds us of the parable of

the lost sheep in Luke 15.

Jesus, of course, tells the story of a shepherd who has a hundred sheep,

but when one goes missing, he leaves the 99 to find out the one.

Just like we go crazy, trying to find the one lost sock, God goes after us when we wander away.

The difference of the course, of course, difference is that socks don't have souls, but we do.

And like the missing sock, we sometimes feel lost, overlooked, over-forgotten.

But God never forgets us.

He searches us and he searches for us.

He values us and when he finds us he rejoices so the next time you're frustrated

over a sock the next time you're frustrated that the sock has disappeared let's

be a reminder even when we feel,

like we've slipped through the cracks god knows exactly where we are he's not leaving us behind,

Now, does this mean that the next time you do laundry, you should pray over

your socks? I think you could.

Maybe you could say, Lord, please don't let these socks disappear.

Please don't let the socks disappear into the drier abyss. Amen. You could do that.

But more importantly, maybe it's a gentle reminder not to sweat the small stuff.

Sometimes life is going to hand us silly mysteries.

Socks will go missing. Remote controls that vanish into the thin air.

Car keys that seem to grow legs.

Don't let those little things steal your joy. But you know what will give you joy?

Praying together. So let's do that.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for laughter. For humor. And for the little mysteries

Lord, remind us that through the smallest of things, like the missing socks.

That you never lose sight of us, that you always search for us,
