- 0:06Speaker 2: Listener discretion is advised.
- 0:09Speaker 3: The World's a bigetal podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 4: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 5: They have a pick at the top of the fourth round.
- 0:21Speaker 6: Yeah, we want to be on for that. Yeah, it's
- 0:23Speaker 6: a top one hundred pick six, top pick six.
- 0:29Speaker 4: It is a good school, it's whatever. It's a tough school.
- 0:32Speaker 5: I don't have many respect for those schools.
- 0:34Speaker 6: So you hear what you're saying, passive aggressive shot at
- 0:37Speaker 6: me right there.
- 0:39Speaker 5: All's a cool kid.
- 0:40Speaker 6: I am not a cool kid. I am as uncool
- 0:42Speaker 6: as you can get. As the action figure would show you.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You be very happy in it, though, very happy action figured.
- 0:48Speaker 6: Paul and someone said way too much hair.
- 0:50Speaker 4: After hearing the back and forth about where ship dors
- 0:52Speaker 4: Sanders will get drafted and hearing both Paul and Mike's takes,
- 0:56Speaker 4: there needs to be some sort of bet placed on it.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Twenty five push up to see if either could actually
- 1:01Speaker 4: do it or something equally emasculated.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Just for the record, I could do twenty five push ups.
- 1:06Speaker 6: Oh, I could do twenty five after lunch, now.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Pushups challenge.
- 1:14Speaker 7: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website. For deals,

- 1:23Speaker 4: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:27Speaker 4: at Jillette Stadium and we are officially one week away
- 1:32Speaker 4: from the draft. Can you feel it? Can you feel
- 1:36Speaker 4: the excitement? I feel it definitely, yea more supportingly. What
- 1:39Speaker 4: are you going to get for food that night?
- 1:42Speaker 5: I've already talked to people about this.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Oh yeah, insight.
- 1:46Speaker 8: Maybe what are we thinking?
- 1:47Speaker 9: LSU crawfish perhaps? What about some Rocky Mountain oysters? Maybe
- 1:55Speaker 9: what's one for Penn State?
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Something white? That's the white outstairs?
- 2:01Speaker 6: What do you mean by that?
- 2:05Speaker 2: That was the first thing that came to mind with Happy.
- 2:06Speaker 4: So it's Evan's ball, it's me, it's Deuce, it's Alex,
- 2:09Speaker 4: it's Matt Nabooth.
- 2:11Speaker 6: And White Wonder Brand.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Of course, we'll be talking draft this show as much
- 2:17Speaker 4: as we can. But you know, any other news that's
- 2:19Speaker 4: come out, what's this stuff going on with the Raiders?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Cool left tackle could come of it?
- 2:27Speaker 5: Somebody doesn't go to voluntary one one day miss bringing
- 2:30Speaker 5: voluntary practices and must be getting traded to the Patriots.
- 2:35Speaker 4: You know, that's the only way Colton Miller.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Colton Miller, you need a left tackle. Hey, Josh loved him.
- 2:40Speaker 2: He was a captain for Josh. So see why some people.
- 2:43Speaker 5: His beef wants money.
- 2:44Speaker 4: He wants money.
- 2:45Speaker 5: He's gonna be a free agent next year. Contract No, no.
- 2:49Speaker 4: I mean like his first post rookie contract.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I don't believe so no, I could be wrong about that,
- 2:55Speaker 5: but yeah, he's been in the league for a while.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Okay, all right, is he You know, I don't know
- 3:02Speaker 4: much about Colton Miller, so I'm asking is he a
- 3:05Speaker 4: top tackle? Does he warrant top tackle money?
- 3:08Speaker 5: Upper echelon? I'd say above average left tackle in the
- 3:12Speaker 5: NFL probably fall in that like ten to fifteen range
- 3:15Speaker 5: if you wanted to like rank all the tackles in
- 3:18Speaker 5: the league. But he was a big board guy for
- 3:21Speaker 5: a lot of people back in the day, very very athletic,
- 3:25Speaker 5: good size, good height, good length. You know, he had
- 3:28Speaker 5: some issues coming out of college, just like technical, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 5: football issues, and has really turned out to be a
- 3:35Speaker 5: really good player. You know, there were some developmental questions
- 3:39Speaker 5: of whether or not he was going to get there
- 3:41Speaker 5: coming out of college, but he has in the league
- 3:44Speaker 5: and he's he's one of the better tackles.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah. That was the Isaiah wind draft.
- 3:47Speaker 9: So that was Solder had left and looking at a lot
- 3:49Speaker 9: of the tackles at that point, you could almost say
- 3:52Speaker 9: that's where I've kind of started to go, not started,
- 3:54Speaker 9: but continued to go sideways with the.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Draft with Isaiah winning. Yeah, see what could happened maybe
- 3:59Speaker 2: if they drafted cold.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely was like when was looked at as more
- 4:03Speaker 5: of like the Polish technician, finished product, and Miller was
- 4:07Speaker 5: more of the raw tools guy, and he's he's reached
- 4:10Speaker 5: his ceiling.
- 4:11Speaker 4: So guy like that what twenty million a year?
- 4:14Speaker 5: Is that what he going?
- 4:15Speaker 4: Right?
- 4:15Speaker 5: Probably around eighteen to twenty million, like a good quality And.
- 4:19Speaker 4: What do you think the Raiders would what would they
- 4:21Speaker 4: be asking for? Would they be asking for a draft
- 4:23Speaker 4: pick from the Patriots or would think, yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I mean anything.
- 4:27Speaker 9: I just like, again, we're so desperate for left tackles.
- 4:31Speaker 9: You see one become a little bit disgruntled or a
- 4:34Speaker 9: story You're like, like, these teams shouldn't let these tackles go.
- 4:37Speaker 2: They should do what most teams are gonna do.
- 4:39Speaker 9: And all right, you're not coming to voluntary listen negotiate
- 4:41Speaker 9: and figure it out.
- 4:42Speaker 2: That's what the Raider should do. I don't think they
- 4:43Speaker 2: should turnround and trade.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Them might you know. The way I'm thinking of it
- 4:46Speaker 4: is is he good enough and if to pick his
- 4:50Speaker 4: third round or lower? Is it worth for the Patriots
- 4:54Speaker 4: to investigate that so that it frees them up in
- 4:56Speaker 4: the first round to not have to worry about left
- 4:59Speaker 4: tackle for a year or two?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Sure, you know, I mean it's realistic. I think, yeah, absolutely.
- 5:05Speaker 5: He's definitely worth exploring. I just I find it funny
- 5:08Speaker 5: that he skips one day of voluntary workouts and all
- 5:11Speaker 5: of a sudden he's getting traded. Like we're still probably
- 5:14Speaker 5: pretty far away from.
- 5:15Speaker 4: That actually, right, But did he skip it saying here's
- 5:19Speaker 4: why I'm skipping it. I want money.
- 5:20Speaker 5: Yeah they know he wants Yeah, No, they know he
- 5:25Speaker 5: wants a new contract. But there's we're we're a couple
- 5:28Speaker 5: of steps away from I want a new contract to
- 5:31Speaker 5: now I'm on a different team.
- 5:32Speaker 9: Oh yeah, well yeah, But don't you always say the
- 5:34Speaker 9: Raiders are kind of cash poor?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Perhaps, so maybe maybe there's something.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Well they were, but now now with being in Vegas,
- 5:41Speaker 4: maybe things are different. You know.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I just think those positions.
- 5:46Speaker 9: If you have the player in house, it's so hard
- 5:48Speaker 9: to find that left tackle spot hang on to him
- 5:50Speaker 9: unless unless he really doesn't want to be there anymore.
- 5:53Speaker 9: But I think it's just the money thing, so I
- 5:54Speaker 9: would assume they figure it out.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Yeah, it's always hard with these to like come up
- 5:58Speaker 5: with the proper compensation because these guys get devalued that
- 6:03Speaker 5: want new contracts or need new contracts. So you would think,
- 6:06Speaker 5: when you know a dk Metcalf or a Colton Miller,
- 6:09Speaker 5: one of these players that caliber become available, like it
- 6:12Speaker 5: would be a lot in return to try to get
- 6:14Speaker 5: that player. But when you need a new contract, it
- 6:17Speaker 5: tends to really hurt the value. So you could be
- 6:20Speaker 5: looking at some people have thrown out, like trading thirty eight,
- 6:23Speaker 5: you know, the second round pick to the Raiders for
- 6:26Speaker 5: Colton Miller. That might not even necessarily be necessary, but
- 6:30Speaker 5: you have to trade the pick and you have to
- 6:32Speaker 5: give them one hundred million dollars, right, And so you know,
- 6:34Speaker 5: those are the two things that we're seeing more and
- 6:37Speaker 5: more of now that have hurt guys values in the
- 6:41Speaker 5: trade market, which makes it end up makes it worth
- 6:44Speaker 5: it for the team to just keep the player because
- 6:46Speaker 5: you're not even really getting you know, a huge return
- 6:49Speaker 5: for him anyway, so you might as well just keep
- 6:51Speaker 5: the player and see how things go.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, So that's one topic of discussion. The other,
- 6:58Speaker 4: obviously is the draft. And have since Tuesday any new
- 7:02Speaker 4: rumors going around, any guys dropping guys, you know, going up,
- 7:07Speaker 4: going down. I I want to announce that I do
- 7:10Speaker 4: have the r lads. Came in the mail yesterday here
- 7:15Speaker 4: it is right there, and I've been going through it
- 7:19Speaker 4: as well as Dame Brugler's beast. I've started to create
- 7:23Speaker 4: my back of the envelope. I've started obviously with wide receivers.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I need to hear this as I feel like that is,
- 7:30Speaker 4: you know, one of the positions of need.
- 7:33Speaker 6: So I don't know, you're a good wide receiver scout
- 7:36Speaker 6: for a very good I make fun of Fred for
- 7:38Speaker 6: everything that's not one of the things I choose to be.
- 7:41Speaker 6: So he's excellent at wide receiver evaluations.
- 7:43Speaker 4: So I tried to like, obviously, you know, Teed McMillan
- 7:46Speaker 4: should be on anyone's board, you know. And I've got
- 7:48Speaker 4: a star next to Matthew Golden. I think I might
- 7:51Speaker 4: even take him before tech McMillan, and then would you
- 7:56Speaker 4: like to see my stars? Yeah? Well, first of all
- 7:59Speaker 4: my back of the envelope player.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Yeah, are you ready to unveil this?
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yeah? Just wide receiver for all the others.
- 8:06Speaker 5: All right, but he's getting really excited.
- 8:10Speaker 6: Can I take the most.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Movies, the most listened to me since I hired him?
- 8:15Speaker 6: Can I take a guess at one of your back
- 8:17Speaker 6: and can I take a guess? I can't wait one
- 8:20Speaker 6: of your guys, Go ahead, Kyle Williams.
- 8:22Speaker 4: No, no, no, But I did hear his name mentioned
- 8:25Speaker 4: on the radio today.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Everybody's been talking about. That's why I figured he was
- 8:28Speaker 6: one of your back envelope.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Somebody did a feature on him, I think on ESPN.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Oh, he might be in one of our mock drafts
- 8:34Speaker 5: coming up here.
- 8:34Speaker 4: No, he isn't. My top back of the envelope player.
- 8:39Speaker 10: Is none of the Nick Nash that I'm ashamed of
- 8:49Speaker 10: myself for not because you knew it.
- 8:53Speaker 5: You drew you guys thought that was Nick.
- 8:58Speaker 6: That was the Douce special that he's.
- 9:01Speaker 5: He's a little bit of a sleeper now because he
- 9:04Speaker 5: didn't run very well and he doesn't have the athleticism
- 9:07Speaker 5: that he necessarily would like. But you know power slot.
- 9:11Speaker 5: You know, bigger guy uh that plays inside. Fred's good hands,
- 9:15Speaker 5: can climb the ladder, can catch seam, you know, run
- 9:18Speaker 5: the seam and and catch you know, high point the ball.
- 9:21Speaker 5: And he's got like a good lower center of gravity
- 9:23Speaker 5: about him to to break tackles and things like that
- 9:26Speaker 5: and crazy crazy college production.
- 9:30Speaker 6: So a little quarterback background, I think, as well, you know, just.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Not saying Nick Nash and day one or two, late fifth,
- 9:39Speaker 4: sixth round pick for me, Yeah, you know, but.
- 9:42Speaker 6: I like him on my I wasn't making fun of
- 9:45Speaker 6: you about saying he was a first round pick.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Yeah you can back of the so so here you
- 9:50Speaker 4: keep him on the guys that I So, here's what
- 9:53Speaker 4: I do. This is my method. I go through this
- 9:56Speaker 4: book and I go through uh Brugler and guys that
- 10:00Speaker 4: you know from what they've written, you know, a call
- 10:05Speaker 4: out to me. I star, and then I go to
- 10:07Speaker 4: the Internet and I start watching their tape and see
- 10:11Speaker 4: if written kind of matches their their tape, and if
- 10:14Speaker 4: it does, then I put a star next to them.
- 10:17Speaker 4: So other guys that I put stars next to Jayden Higgins,
- 10:20Speaker 4: I think everybody right, Tory Horton.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Oh good one. Good one. Kind of a by low
- 10:25Speaker 5: candidate coming off an injury. Didn't play much last year,
- 10:29Speaker 5: but it was really good in twenty three.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Yeah, Keandro Lambert Smith.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Fast guy.
- 10:36Speaker 4: I said he needs to put a little bulk on,
- 10:38Speaker 4: but yeah, he's a fast guy.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Ty Fulton another one, another fast vertical receiver. Yep, okay Maryland.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Then Nick Nash. Dante Thornton Junior. Now the name kind
- 10:50Speaker 4: of threw me off a little bit, but.
- 10:56Speaker 6: Named Thornton guy.
- 10:59Speaker 5: I tweeted about Dante Thornton. The amount of replies that
- 11:02Speaker 5: said no more Thorntons is ridiculous.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Yeah, and my.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Final uh wide receiver star is Isaiah and Neyer. Okay,
- 11:13Speaker 4: he's out of Nebraska.
- 11:15Speaker 5: Yeah that one, Yeah, that's that's that's four. That's a
- 11:18Speaker 5: deep one. But is one of my one of my
- 11:21Speaker 5: sleepers in this draft. Basically run runs like two routes
- 11:25Speaker 5: right now, weird offense at Tennessee right, uh, you.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Got you got.
- 11:30Speaker 5: It's a development is coming from right. But he's literally
- 11:33Speaker 5: built like DK Metcalf. He's like six four two o
- 11:36Speaker 5: five with a four three forty yard desk.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 5: When he's and he and his speed, you know, translates
- 11:42Speaker 5: like you put on the tape and he runs by people.
- 11:44Speaker 4: So that's a little sneak peek at what you're going
- 11:47Speaker 4: to be getting on Tuesday with my back of the envelope.
- 11:49Speaker 6: Players, that's the money spot though wide receiver. That's your
- 11:55Speaker 6: fourte I would I would bet good money that one
- 11:59Speaker 6: or two of those guys will turn out to be
- 12:01Speaker 6: excellent players. Track records there, Mike track records there.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Now, none of these guys are BTT guys, so no
- 12:09Speaker 4: question you know what I mean by that?
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so just behind the.
- 12:12Speaker 4: No bang the table. See you didn't know. I assume
- 12:19Speaker 4: that I don't know what a BTT guys. I didn't
- 12:21Speaker 4: know the table.
- 12:21Speaker 6: I didn't know what that was.
- 12:23Speaker 9: Is that difference between a PTT pound the table like
- 12:25Speaker 9: banging the table or pounding the table?
- 12:26Speaker 4: I couldn't be the same.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, because I'm pound the table.
- 12:29Speaker 4: You could pound the table or bang the table.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I prefer to pound it.
- 12:33Speaker 4: But none of these guys, really, there's no justin Jefferson's
- 12:36Speaker 4: here obviously, you know, so w g O. I guess
- 12:40Speaker 4: I can't make WET. I can't make that up. But
- 12:46Speaker 4: you know, I think these are all guys that I
- 12:48Speaker 4: wouldn't mind seeing on my team.
- 12:51Speaker 2: All right, you know we should keep this right.
- 12:53Speaker 9: So if one of them comes in for an interview,
- 12:55Speaker 9: you know you can show them right here.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Start had you start up? Yeah, like me left Marcus
- 13:01Speaker 2: Jones off my thing. But that's fine.
- 13:03Speaker 5: You're still kicking yourself about that one.
- 13:04Speaker 2: That's good. That's good content. You know, look at me.
- 13:07Speaker 9: When you told him, because I'm just going to react
- 13:10Speaker 9: to I thought you're too small.
- 13:12Speaker 2: That was just all of those things.
- 13:14Speaker 4: But Jack says about draft food and recognition that the
- 13:20Speaker 4: draft is being held at Lambeau. Your special draft men,
- 13:23Speaker 4: you should include brought worst kilbasa, pola, sausage, beer, cheese, soup,
- 13:27Speaker 4: cheese curds which are actually really good if they did right,
- 13:30Speaker 4: macaroni and cheese, Sheboygan, summer sausage, and a variety of cheese.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Is to eat with bread or crackers like I have
- 13:39Speaker 4: to we.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Have to work.
- 13:43Speaker 11: He's going to have to sit on the toilet.
- 13:46Speaker 4: It's can I tell you speaking of getting sick for drafts?
- 13:51Speaker 4: So I guess last year we had Shinese food, Like
- 13:54Speaker 4: a lot of people got sent to the latrine for
- 13:57Speaker 4: really Oh yeah, I don't know what was going on,
- 13:59Speaker 4: like usually, but a few years ago, and it might
- 14:02Speaker 4: have been the year twenty twenty when we were in
- 14:05Speaker 4: the war room, our war room, not the team's war rod.
- 14:08Speaker 2: We're talking about that now.
- 14:09Speaker 6: I had to figure that was home.
- 14:11Speaker 4: I had to walk off, like I thought it was
- 14:13Speaker 4: just like my stomach herd. I thought it was just
- 14:15Speaker 4: like bad gas or something. It turns out I had
- 14:17Speaker 4: an infected, infected gall bladder which I had to get
- 14:20Speaker 4: removed like two.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Months, Like, oh jeez, yeah I know that. Yeah, so
- 14:26Speaker 2: the platriots draft that didn't see it was the food.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Okay, so that that happened, a draft night's beauty that
- 14:31Speaker 4: killed the beast.
- 14:32Speaker 8: Maybe we go healthier.
- 14:34Speaker 5: I've heard a new NFL sponsor might be in the
- 14:41Speaker 5: in the running.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Well we know who that is.
- 14:43Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean that way, the options are limitless with
- 14:46Speaker 9: that potential sponsor.
- 14:47Speaker 7: Well we get three cracks the Christian Gonzales year that
- 14:50Speaker 7: the Chinese food incidn't happen.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Yeah, because last year I thought, okay, two years ago, okay, yeah.
- 14:56Speaker 8: Which could cause the same issues.
- 14:58Speaker 9: Really, yeah, don't remember, we were fine, we got iron
- 15:02Speaker 9: stomach's Paul, don't worry well me.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Especially plow right through it.
- 15:07Speaker 6: So anyway, okay, I could see Andy having a hard
- 15:10Speaker 6: time because he couldn't remember.
- 15:14Speaker 4: We went to somebody's wedding and he spent literally the
- 15:17Speaker 4: whole wedding in the bathroom.
- 15:19Speaker 6: He shall not be named.
- 15:23Speaker 4: He did. I went in there and it was just awful.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Got awful. It's like, what's going on in here? It
- 15:27Speaker 4: was Andy, Yeah, probotics. We drank a lot that.
- 15:33Speaker 6: Night, Yes we did.
- 15:36Speaker 4: We did.
- 15:37Speaker 6: I recall I had to pull the trigger when I
- 15:39Speaker 6: got back to my hotel room. Sometimes you got to
- 15:43Speaker 6: do it. If I didn't, that's just like shaking her
- 15:50Speaker 6: head at me.
- 15:51Speaker 8: That's the parometer.
- 15:53Speaker 12: Wed Like if you're out a wedding and you have
- 15:55Speaker 12: to sneak away to the bathroom for a couple of
- 15:57Speaker 12: minutes and come back like nothing ever happened, having a
- 16:00Speaker 12: fun time.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Oh yeah, this was after the like you know, I
- 16:03Speaker 6: I got it through the actual weapon.
- 16:05Speaker 4: And this was why laid down everyone to sleep and I.
- 16:10Speaker 6: Was like, yeah, this isn't gonna work.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Like you don't make it to the brunch on Sunday morning,
- 16:14Speaker 5: that's when you.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Know your bridesmaid tamble there putting together for speeches as
- 16:18Speaker 2: well as for those of you.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Who don't know me.
- 16:26Speaker 8: Writing that speech.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Actually, my ride or died.
- 16:31Speaker 4: So perfect my soulmate because she knows she made.
- 16:37Speaker 2: For the Saturday when they were doing what was it,
- 16:44Speaker 2: the shoot the guy's name? They do the brestmaids singing
- 16:47Speaker 2: and they always go back like three or four of them. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 2: did that happen before we talked about it with you?
- 16:52Speaker 2: Because that's exactly what it's making fun of.
- 16:54Speaker 9: Is like the girls who have like a special thing
- 16:56Speaker 9: for their friend Domingo.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Yeah, it is plassible.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Andrew writes in he has a PU guarantee game for
- 17:05Speaker 4: us based on the draft like it.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Love the games the Brady.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Vegas is or the Jersey Giants take Shador Sanders straight
- 17:13Speaker 4: up or via trade potentially with us. I don't know
- 17:16Speaker 4: what that means with us, but if it doesn't occur,
- 17:19Speaker 4: I will pick up your lunch tab for two broadcasts
- 17:21Speaker 4: next week. So he's guaranteeing it.
- 17:24Speaker 6: That either the Giants or the Raiders, or the Raiders
- 17:27Speaker 6: trade up to do it.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Yeah, or his drafting period. Okay, that's great, Yeah, okay,
- 17:32Speaker 5: Well the Giants wouldn't have to trade up right.
- 17:33Speaker 6: The giants take him where the raiders take them?
- 17:36Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 17:36Speaker 6: Period, Yeah, what do we have to do.
- 17:39Speaker 4: If when it does happen, you agree to compile an
- 17:42Speaker 4: initial edition of Best of Great Moments at PEU History
- 17:45Speaker 4: thirty minute or so download. So basically, if he wins,
- 17:50Speaker 4: Matt has a lot of work to do. I mean
- 17:53Speaker 4: giving the thumbs up. He bring on, baby, bring it on.
- 17:55Speaker 6: I'm not scared.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Okay, he's okay.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Those are my kind of bets. I can only stand
- 18:00Speaker 6: to gain.
- 18:02Speaker 4: He said. Fred glossed over this recommendation request. Uh, via
- 18:06Speaker 4: my recent email after ripping the watching McCall it's gift
- 18:10Speaker 4: I sent PU a few years ago. Yes, Paul, terrible
- 18:13Speaker 4: person mark tape for a best of moment to ensue.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Now you call me a because I called the watch
- 18:20Speaker 4: McCall it's sawdust? And did you call me a terrible person.
- 18:24Speaker 6: That Eric was a big fan of the watch, and
- 18:28Speaker 6: you and I were like, it's a candid yeah, but
- 18:31Speaker 6: I guess, but it was a good gift.
- 18:32Speaker 4: I guess Andrews sent it. I actually threw the watch
- 18:34Speaker 4: McCall it across the you did?
- 18:36Speaker 6: You did?
- 18:37Speaker 4: Eric?
- 18:37Speaker 6: And that might be when I said you're a terrible person, right, yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 6: just because you came.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Here, just because you were.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Just I said, this is sawdust and I threw it
- 18:46Speaker 4: at her. Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he looked sad.
- 18:48Speaker 4: And anyway, he says, thanks, p you go, Pats A
- 18:52Speaker 4: v S. Yes, Deuce, What does a v S means?
- 18:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:57Speaker 4: No, I don't either. Uh, and sees he's going for
- 19:01Speaker 4: a seized nuggets finals alves aves Avalanche.
- 19:07Speaker 2: The avalanche nuggets is not I don't see that.
- 19:11Speaker 6: I don't see.
- 19:12Speaker 4: And he says, Fred, did you get your allergy tests yet?
- 19:15Speaker 6: No?
- 19:15Speaker 4: I didn't. I'm not going to get one unless someone
- 19:17Speaker 4: comes and gives it to me. So he's a doctor.
- 19:19Speaker 4: If you want to come, Andrew and we'll let you in.
- 19:21Speaker 4: You can administer the allergy test right here on air.
- 19:25Speaker 6: There's a lot going on.
- 19:27Speaker 8: Supercross and motocross is gone. Hopefully we all get better.
- 19:30Speaker 8: But I was having me walk in the tunnel. It
- 19:35Speaker 8: was just like a dirt clear.
- 19:38Speaker 4: You don't think it. I think you were because it
- 19:43Speaker 4: is allergies right now, just sneezed she had.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Really I think we might have to separate them.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah, is that right? Okay?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Alright, I don't get sick to get stuff in the newsletter.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Good time to bleed.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Now that's how to tuck.
- 20:04Speaker 4: All right. I was going to bring up a story
- 20:07Speaker 4: from the past, but you.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Don't like stories, the stuff that you'll probably leave out.
- 20:14Speaker 4: I was at a party this is I guess. I
- 20:17Speaker 4: was in my thirties and this guy was telling people
- 20:20Speaker 4: I've never been sick in my life. So I didn't
- 20:23Speaker 4: really know him that well. But in true Paul fashion,
- 20:26Speaker 4: I had to interject, and so I looked at him.
- 20:29Speaker 6: It's actually Brian fashion.
- 20:30Speaker 4: But okay, I said, so you're telling everybody you've never
- 20:33Speaker 4: been sick once. No, I've never been sick. And we
- 20:37Speaker 4: got into it.
- 20:38Speaker 6: See I would have gone to you and said, I'm
- 20:42Speaker 6: not buying that. Brian would have been not no, no, no,
- 20:45Speaker 6: you've been sick. Everybody's been sick. Brian would have called
- 20:48Speaker 6: him out evern nely Fred did.
- 20:50Speaker 4: It would have been a whole thing.
- 20:51Speaker 2: What was a secret to you? I'm like, well, what's
- 20:53Speaker 2: your secret? Then, you've never been sick?
- 20:54Speaker 4: Like, I don't know. I don't get it.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I just don't.
- 20:56Speaker 4: I've never kept repeating I've never been sick, I've never
- 20:58Speaker 4: been sick.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Did you keeping this guy. Yeah, you still know this guy.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I know who he is.
- 21:06Speaker 9: I'll just be keeping an eye on. You know, it
- 21:08Speaker 9: comes to an end of his time. You know, he
- 21:13Speaker 9: had the flu.
- 21:15Speaker 6: He got the flu and he never recovered once.
- 21:19Speaker 4: All right, what else.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Does that new sweatshirt?
- 21:22Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 21:24Speaker 5: I literally just realized that you're wearing a Jumpman sweatshirt
- 21:28Speaker 5: and I was like, that does not look like a
- 21:30Speaker 5: dou sweatch?
- 21:32Speaker 6: Was that a birthday gift? No?
- 21:34Speaker 2: No, this might I might have found this down to Florida.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Oh no, socks might have one that.
- 21:41Speaker 6: It was in the swag bag.
- 21:42Speaker 5: I like, I have quite like that. You're cheating on Reebok.
- 21:46Speaker 9: With I know, and I wasn't allowed to wear Nike
- 21:48Speaker 9: growing up. Yeah, I do still feel a little dirty
- 21:50Speaker 9: when I wear Nike stuff.
- 21:51Speaker 5: How does like your Rebrock brethren feel about the Michael
- 21:56Speaker 5: Jordan's signing with Nike and being the greatest like sports?
- 22:00Speaker 9: I mean, we've a smaller company now, Evan, they're owned
- 22:03Speaker 9: by Audidos.
- 22:04Speaker 2: They're the big you know, they're not going.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Back with Nike.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Well, back then we had Michael Chang. I mean, don't
- 22:09Speaker 2: forget that Michael Chang. We had who else? Do we
- 22:12Speaker 2: have shack?
- 22:15Speaker 5: But they missed.
- 22:17Speaker 4: The uh uh dunk contest winner from the Yeah de Brown?
- 22:23Speaker 2: De Brown?
- 22:24Speaker 6: You watch that episode of Celtic City.
- 22:26Speaker 4: I haven't seen that one yet.
- 22:27Speaker 6: It's not bad they did. They did a good job
- 22:29Speaker 6: with Reggie.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Yeah, oh did they? Because I saw the one biased
- 22:33Speaker 4: one where they went over that one. All right, what else?
- 22:38Speaker 4: What else do we have to talk about before we
- 22:39Speaker 4: get to the calls and emails?
- 22:42Speaker 9: I just feel great right now for it because I
- 22:43Speaker 9: feel like all the draft pre draft preparation and articles
- 22:46Speaker 9: and videos and everything we had to do, we've kind
- 22:49Speaker 9: of wrapped up in the last couple of days.
- 22:50Speaker 2: So it's like just a.
- 22:52Speaker 9: Sigh of relief, ready to just never jump into that
- 22:56Speaker 9: draft Nike coverage and see who they pick and.
- 22:59Speaker 6: Just fine catch up with you get.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Into like OTAs of May June July.
- 23:04Speaker 9: This is kind of our a little bit of our
- 23:05Speaker 9: down period, which I love because you get to watch OTAs,
- 23:08Speaker 9: so you get to, you know, pseudo football, but just
- 23:10Speaker 9: going out there with the guys, sitting watching these guys
- 23:12Speaker 9: practice a little bit, see what that's like. So I
- 23:14Speaker 9: don't know, I just feel like you turn a corner
- 23:16Speaker 9: last year was a little stressful because we had Brady Night.
- 23:18Speaker 9: There was so much preparation going into that too. But
- 23:21Speaker 9: now I just feel like I'm excited to get the
- 23:22Speaker 9: new guys, see the OTAs and and you know, kind
- 23:25Speaker 9: of get a little break before training camp. I don't know,
- 23:27Speaker 9: just turning the page.
- 23:27Speaker 6: I'm looking forward to the draft, just to get some
- 23:29Speaker 6: clarity and figure out, you know, because we all have
- 23:33Speaker 6: the holes that we've been talking about. Which one of
- 23:36Speaker 6: those did they address? Did they address them with guys
- 23:38Speaker 6: that you hoped that they would, you know, And then
- 23:41Speaker 6: what else needs to be done. You sort of get
- 23:43Speaker 6: more of a picture of what the twenty five team
- 23:45Speaker 6: will look like.
- 23:46Speaker 9: I'll just say I just say last sorry, I just
- 23:48Speaker 9: say the Friday, next Friday, it's I always love that
- 23:51Speaker 9: day when they bring the first round pick in and
- 23:53Speaker 9: there's just there's always a cool sense of energy, no
- 23:55Speaker 9: matter who the pick is, Like, you know, everybody comes
- 23:57Speaker 9: in where else he.
- 23:58Speaker 6: Is so the polar opposite of me and everything too.
- 24:02Speaker 5: I think that's the best day.
- 24:04Speaker 9: But Paul, there's a reason why you like it too, though,
- 24:06Speaker 9: I think is because the weather usually is nice.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Like it's like the weather's starting to come.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Around and outside, and.
- 24:13Speaker 9: It's gonna sound silly in retrospect, but when that year
- 24:16Speaker 9: we picked mac Jones and it felt like after twenty
- 24:18Speaker 9: twenty was such a sideways year and they were gonna
- 24:22Speaker 9: hit the reset button and they had the huge free
- 24:23Speaker 9: agency period and then you drafted a young quarterback and
- 24:27Speaker 9: going out there, it just felt like renewed hope.
- 24:29Speaker 2: And I think every.
- 24:30Speaker 9: Team feels a sense of renewed hope each offseason, for
- 24:33Speaker 9: right or wrong. And again here we are again feeling
- 24:35Speaker 9: renewed hope again with Mike Rabel here and you know,
- 24:37Speaker 9: whatever pick they.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Have will be We'll be exciting.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Grant rights in he says Fred and Gang. I'm a
- 24:44Speaker 4: Husker fan. Fred might be the first Patriots guy I've
- 24:47Speaker 4: heard mentioned Isaiah and Nayer. I believe he was graded
- 24:50Speaker 4: as the highest rate of receiver based on his physical
- 24:53Speaker 4: traits at the combine. Is that true?
- 24:55Speaker 5: Uh, he was up there. I don't know if he
- 24:57Speaker 5: was the highest depends on you know which metric you
- 24:59Speaker 5: look at.
- 25:00Speaker 4: He has a major problem though he can't catch at all.
- 25:03Speaker 5: I figured out.
- 25:07Speaker 4: That he could potentially be a great jump ball guy.
- 25:09Speaker 4: He was just a disappointment this year. Because he couldn't catch,
- 25:12Speaker 4: had a bad drop in the Iowa game where he
- 25:15Speaker 4: was wide open in the fourth quarter that didn't seem
- 25:17Speaker 4: to make YouTube, and ultimately it pretty much summed up
- 25:22Speaker 4: his season. Loving all the content this week, loving the
- 25:24Speaker 4: longer draft analysis, pocket, well, I like that because he's
- 25:27Speaker 4: got something to prove. He's gonna come into the league
- 25:29Speaker 4: with a chip on his shoulder.
- 25:31Speaker 6: I'm not gonna lie for it. That's a tough one
- 25:33Speaker 6: to overcome, not catch, to catch.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't want to be the one to, you know,
- 25:37Speaker 5: pop the balloon and be like, well catch.
- 25:41Speaker 4: There's a reason why he's rated in the seventh round.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Yeah, he's the round.
- 25:45Speaker 4: He's a value pick. Yep. And that's why they're back
- 25:48Speaker 4: of the envelope. And this is in the envelope. They're
- 25:51Speaker 4: not in the front of the envelope. They're in the
- 25:53Speaker 4: back of the air.
- 25:53Speaker 5: Not talking Ted McMillan and Matthew Golden here, we're talking
- 25:58Speaker 5: round right. I got you.
- 26:01Speaker 6: KK can't catch.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Just give him some stick them. It will be fine.
- 26:06Speaker 2: There was another one junk machine.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Just get out there and work, just catch like fifty balls.
- 26:11Speaker 6: Fifty five hundred ten minutes. This thing will be over
- 26:15Speaker 6: in two minutes. Get on it, snuggle Rude.
- 26:19Speaker 4: There was a good email that I wanted to talk
- 26:21Speaker 4: amongst yourself while I find.
- 26:23Speaker 6: This so deuce. You know, I mentioned that your your birthday, yeah, yesterday,
- 26:29Speaker 6: and that you spent some time, you know, some deuce time.
- 26:33Speaker 6: You had a lovely dinner with your wife's time.
- 26:35Speaker 2: That could be misinterpreted, but yes.
- 26:38Speaker 6: I'm sure after, especially when you're talking to people, did
- 26:43Speaker 6: anything special.
- 26:44Speaker 9: It was nice, had a nice, wonderful lunch in the
- 26:46Speaker 9: city with my with my wife in the city. Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 9: we went to the North End to get a wonderful Yeah.
- 26:53Speaker 9: The Sunday was it the Sunday?
- 26:56Speaker 2: What do they call it? Sunny macaroni? That's what it is.
- 26:59Speaker 9: Thank you, Carmelinas is wonderful and then just wonderful. I'm
- 27:02Speaker 9: happy to report. I guess I can make the announcement.
- 27:03Speaker 9: Here's go right to the camera. I did officially get
- 27:06Speaker 9: the Orca Lego set.
- 27:08Speaker 2: That was my only president from my family. But I'm
- 27:11Speaker 2: very excited. I also realized.
- 27:13Speaker 9: Last time I was thinking about it all and I
- 27:14Speaker 9: was going to ask you this, not you Evan and
- 27:17Speaker 9: not you Alex, of course, because you haven't seen it.
- 27:18Speaker 9: But uh, I realized that every time I see a
- 27:22Speaker 9: boat anywhere that is a fishing boat and has like
- 27:25Speaker 9: the front kind of like vaguely resembles the layout of
- 27:27Speaker 9: the Orca with the lung. I don't know what the
- 27:30Speaker 9: official term for where you walk out at the end,
- 27:32Speaker 9: and like.
- 27:33Speaker 6: I don't for what does he say for scale?
- 27:37Speaker 5: For scale in the port.
- 27:39Speaker 9: I realized that I compare every boat I ever see
- 27:41Speaker 9: to the Orca, like every single boat I've ever seen that,
- 27:45Speaker 9: I'm like, it's a little like it's a little short
- 27:49Speaker 9: in the Orca, but I think that the front is
- 27:51Speaker 9: probably a little while like every single boat I see,
- 27:53Speaker 9: I compare the Orca.
- 27:54Speaker 2: So I'm very excited to put that together. Hopefully my
- 27:56Speaker 2: kids will help me.
- 27:57Speaker 6: Maut like a weekend project.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I don't know, we'll see.
- 28:00Speaker 6: Although its supposed to be Niceliday is part of it,
- 28:03Speaker 6: maybe not a good weekend.
- 28:04Speaker 2: There was some discussion of maybe getting a floating shelf
- 28:07Speaker 2: in the house somewhere to display it.
- 28:09Speaker 5: Perhaps you know it always floats, We're not going to
- 28:12Speaker 5: find out it floats or not.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Front room.
- 28:16Speaker 9: Well, I threw the front room out there to my
- 28:18Speaker 9: wife and surprisingly she wasn't having it in the front room.
- 28:21Speaker 6: But like the Brady bunch with the pool table right
- 28:23Speaker 6: the family room.
- 28:26Speaker 5: I thought it was a whale, like you said, it
- 28:28Speaker 5: was an orca, and I was like, why do you
- 28:30Speaker 5: want to the.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Ship because the orcas can kill sharks.
- 28:33Speaker 6: You wouldn't know that. I thought you saw.
- 28:35Speaker 5: I mean like ten years ago.
- 28:36Speaker 6: And one time. Okay, you like my ad libing, but
- 28:43Speaker 6: I was pretty good.
- 28:43Speaker 4: It was good. It was good.
- 28:44Speaker 6: I have a very hat. He looked at me like a.
- 28:50Speaker 11: Photo like eight pm, and I was like, oh no,
- 28:52Speaker 11: what did me and Evan do?
- 28:54Speaker 8: It was a happy photo, I know.
- 28:57Speaker 5: And that's when I found out it wasn't actually a whale.
- 29:00Speaker 5: It was the boat.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Have you started it?
- 29:03Speaker 6: No, not yet.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I'm savoring it, Fred. I'm gonna, you know, really gonna
- 29:06Speaker 2: sit down and enjoy it. Hopefully my kids help me.
- 29:08Speaker 9: I am nearly a fifty old man who got a
- 29:10Speaker 9: lego steps his birthday though, So all right, Hi, did.
- 29:14Speaker 6: You open it?
- 29:14Speaker 4: How many bags?
- 29:15Speaker 6: I don't know how.
- 29:16Speaker 2: I didn't open an yet. No, not yet, I will mat.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Matt was no one's more excited than the that I
- 29:19Speaker 2: share that he was.
- 29:21Speaker 6: Oh, I was all I have a million of those
- 29:23Speaker 6: that that you know, the kids got when they were younger.
- 29:27Speaker 4: So this is from Brian and Swansea. He says, I
- 29:31Speaker 4: was curious, curious how far down the rabbit hole Evan
- 29:34Speaker 4: Deuce and the others went inventing this year's top prospect
- 29:37Speaker 4: for the NFL Draft? Can they name the draft prospect
- 29:40Speaker 4: based on the following interesting facts?
- 29:43Speaker 6: This is a lot of pressure on a lot of
- 29:45Speaker 6: pressure on you too.
- 29:46Speaker 9: Hope is as easy as it was for barth on sports.
- 29:49Speaker 4: And so far I'm going down. These are top guys.
- 29:52Speaker 4: So these aren't like guys. You know, which top draft
- 29:55Speaker 4: prospect is an avid fisherman and it's claimed to be
- 29:58Speaker 4: a better bass fisher and then a football player.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Travis Hunter, correct ding ding Ding, I didn't know.
- 30:04Speaker 5: That big fish.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go, ding ding Ding.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Does he fish?
- 30:08Speaker 4: He does, so bass pro might be alure.
- 30:10Speaker 2: He's he does trolling and well he paish both.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Hunter here, he likes to fish and he likes to
- 30:17Speaker 5: play ball. That's it. He said that those are the
- 30:19Speaker 5: two things that he spends all his time.
- 30:22Speaker 8: Is it just bass fishing? We got to take him
- 30:23Speaker 8: to the ocean.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Surprised, never knew that wasn't bold. That's not part of.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Four to all right? Which top draft prospect went on
- 30:30Speaker 4: an alligator hunt with members of a personal injury law
- 30:33Speaker 4: firm as part of an n I L deal and
- 30:36Speaker 4: wrestled live alligators onto a boat.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Sound like it sounds like Will camp.
- 30:44Speaker 4: I had.
- 30:44Speaker 6: I did not know that. BYU, we're not going to go.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Buy how hard he's going to get a whole new.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Which top prospect played high school football his freshman year
- 30:58Speaker 4: at Naples Middle High School near Naples, Italy. That's correct,
- 31:05Speaker 4: and you.
- 31:05Speaker 12: Know why because his father served in Italy for a
- 31:09Speaker 12: year military.
- 31:11Speaker 5: That's correct.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Good Alex.
- 31:13Speaker 8: Good Alex sometimes like surprise you guys.
- 31:16Speaker 6: Which top prospect surprised Alex?
- 31:18Speaker 9: I believe actually did extensive research on him, because she's
- 31:22Speaker 9: like to just must know something.
- 31:23Speaker 8: I tried to find the lifestyle angles, you know, sure?
- 31:26Speaker 4: Which top prospect is an aspiring actor. He played the
- 31:29Speaker 4: tin Man in a high school production of the Wizard
- 31:32Speaker 4: of Oz and has done professional voice over acting work,
- 31:35Speaker 4: including a commercial for the SEC.
- 31:39Speaker 5: For the SEC yep Kaalen Walker.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Well, he says Walker, but it's Jalen Walker. That's good.
- 31:47Speaker 6: Wow, the tin Man, the SEC I was gonna say,
- 31:51Speaker 6: you're not looking to draft guys that played the tin man.
- 31:53Speaker 4: He's a smaller probacy.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You probably want the scarecrow. There's no brain. But if
- 32:02Speaker 2: you can just play, like, don't think just two more?
- 32:04Speaker 4: Wow more, we don't want to. Which potential top of
- 32:08Speaker 4: the draft prospect has a barbecue tasting series on Instagram?
- 32:13Speaker 2: It's another good one, this one barbecue.
- 32:17Speaker 9: I like it.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Barbecue tasting series.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Kelvin Banks Junior.
- 32:21Speaker 5: I was gonna say, you had Texas.
- 32:24Speaker 8: It was a good questions barbecue. Maybe we make him
- 32:26Speaker 8: a sauce.
- 32:26Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe we got Vince Wilfork involved.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Oh barbecue.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it's overall.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Finally, finally, which potential top of the draft prospect shares
- 32:37Speaker 4: the same name with an NHL goalie also drafted in
- 32:41Speaker 4: the first round. This goalie played the majority of his
- 32:43Speaker 4: fourteen year career for an NHL team with the same
- 32:47Speaker 4: nickname as this draft prospect's final college team. Wow, that's
- 32:51Speaker 4: a that's a fun question of dotted lines thereank guy, Huh,
- 33:01Speaker 4: I don't know, cam Ward.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Oh, I guess very good. Yeah, Okay, yeah, yes, that's
- 33:08Speaker 5: very good.
- 33:09Speaker 6: That's a very good question.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Email of the weekend.
- 33:12Speaker 6: That's really good. We should have we should have gotten
- 33:15Speaker 6: that one. Hurricanes, Carolina, Hurricanes cam Ward, we should have
- 33:19Speaker 6: gotten that one. That was a great question.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I don't like Carolina. I don't care for them.
- 33:24Speaker 2: The Whalers, No.
- 33:26Speaker 5: The Whalers are great, but the coaching.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Eight pass five hundred is the hot line.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 33:33Speaker 4: We have Christian from Virginia. What's up? Christian?
- 33:38Speaker 6: Hey, guys, how's the going good.
- 33:42Speaker 13: I want to opinion on Jalen Knowle, especially a little
- 33:47Speaker 13: bit he's watched a little bit of his tapmen. I
- 33:50Speaker 13: thought that he was pretty reliant on a scheme and
- 33:54Speaker 13: bad coverage. You know, he's really and.
- 33:56Speaker 6: I think Jalen Milroe, Okay.
- 33:59Speaker 4: You're breaking up there.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Get Jalen Nole. I think it's who he said the
- 34:03Speaker 5: receiver I was.
- 34:06Speaker 6: I thought he was talking about Milrow.
- 34:08Speaker 5: I feel as though that was what he said because
- 34:10Speaker 5: he said that. I've given my take about that player.
- 34:13Speaker 5: I have not talked as much about quarterbacks obviously, so
- 34:16Speaker 5: I would think it was Jalen Nole from Iowa State,
- 34:19Speaker 5: who was, yeah, really good prospect, really good Day two prospect.
- 34:23Speaker 5: I've compared him to Tyler Lockett. You know, vertical slot speed,
- 34:26Speaker 5: slot receiver. I can win down the field, can win
- 34:30Speaker 5: at the second level. Really good route runner, really good combine.
- 34:34Speaker 5: I mean just kind of checked every box.
- 34:36Speaker 6: So I think at the end he said something he
- 34:38Speaker 6: felt like he was maybe overly reliant on slants on Oh.
- 34:42Speaker 6: I don't know, is that what he said, because I
- 34:44Speaker 6: thought he was talking about Milrow and that was really
- 34:46Speaker 6: throws that he was throwing. Maybe, I don't know.
- 34:49Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 34:50Speaker 9: I don't know that I was incredibly consistent, So I
- 34:54Speaker 9: mean maybe that's true.
- 34:55Speaker 6: But yeah, everybody has him. Yeah, you know on the radar, he's.
- 34:59Speaker 5: A he's the best bet I would say to be
- 35:02Speaker 5: this year's Lad McConkey. Like, yes, a guy that's probably
- 35:06Speaker 5: more of an inside receiver, but just a great route runner,
- 35:08Speaker 5: explosive guy.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, let's see Nick Nash Mouritz writs in from Germany. Moritz,
- 35:22Speaker 4: longtime listener from Stuttgart. I have a quick question. Can
- 35:26Speaker 4: you guess how many games catches in yards are former
- 35:29Speaker 4: tight ends Dalton Keene and Devin Sae having their Patriots career.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Won sugar that's eight. I mean it's under.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Team has six games played, five targets.
- 35:46Speaker 5: He played six six games, played.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Five targets, three catches for sixteen yards, and one fumble.
- 35:51Speaker 5: I have no recollection of him.
- 35:53Speaker 6: I missed all three of those catches. I never remember
- 35:55Speaker 6: him catching a pass I called one, but maybe I'm.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Games. Played seven targets, two catches, thirty nine yards.
- 36:05Speaker 6: I remember one of them. I like.
- 36:07Speaker 5: I Actually I had some hope for him.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I did not know why they were such busts.
- 36:13Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I sometimes you just misevaluate. I will
- 36:16Speaker 6: agree with Evan as much as it pains me. I
- 36:19Speaker 6: liked I remember writing his profile, you know, after we
- 36:23Speaker 6: drafted him, and I thought there was something there. Dalton
- 36:26Speaker 6: Keene I didn't get. I didn't. I didn't get the
- 36:29Speaker 6: fascination with him. He was sort of a guy before
- 36:31Speaker 6: the draft that a lot of people around here were saying,
- 36:34Speaker 6: this could be a Patriot, this could be good. And
- 36:36Speaker 6: I watched him I think Virginia Tech, if I'm not mistaken,
- 36:40Speaker 6: I didn't see it. I did not. I didn't really
- 36:42Speaker 6: get the whole fascination with the versatility, the h BAC
- 36:45Speaker 6: type and all that. I just didn't think there was
- 36:47Speaker 6: a lot of athleticism there for that kind of versatility.
- 36:51Speaker 6: ASSISI when talking to people, and this would be just anecdotally,
- 36:56Speaker 6: like he's asking why they busted. Talked to a couple
- 36:59Speaker 6: of guys that he was around, and I think there
- 37:02Speaker 6: was a problem with him initially sort of being committed
- 37:07Speaker 6: taking it seriously, you know, you know, committing himself to
- 37:10Speaker 6: being a professional. I think was something that the people
- 37:14Speaker 6: said could be an issue. He was eventually really good,
- 37:18Speaker 6: and I talked to actually one of his coaches that
- 37:19Speaker 6: actually got really cool. One of his position coaches got
- 37:22Speaker 6: really close with him and really spoke highly of him.
- 37:25Speaker 6: He's a good kid, works hard, but sometimes it took
- 37:29Speaker 6: them a while to get him to that spot, and
- 37:31Speaker 6: he was concerned that if it didn't happen right away
- 37:35Speaker 6: from him, he could slip back into those things. So
- 37:37Speaker 6: maybe just some of that stuff off field, you know,
- 37:41Speaker 6: there were commitment issues.
- 37:42Speaker 9: I throw one other thing I'd throw into the mix.
- 37:43Speaker 9: There was reaching on a need, and at that point
- 37:46Speaker 9: they lost Gronk. You had a year of my buddy
- 37:48Speaker 9: Matt Lacosse as your number one tight end. Felt like
- 37:51Speaker 9: they got into that draft where they were a little
- 37:53Speaker 9: desperate for those.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Kind of players and maybe reached on a couple of them.
- 37:56Speaker 5: Yeah, that was like the Adam Troutman draft and the
- 38:01Speaker 5: I forget who the other guy wasn't buking on him.
- 38:03Speaker 5: But there was like a handful of guys right in
- 38:05Speaker 5: that range of the draft.
- 38:06Speaker 6: Was an athletic kid from like Florida something. Yeah, Donald
- 38:10Speaker 6: Parum maybe.
- 38:11Speaker 5: He was might have been in that draft. That might
- 38:12Speaker 5: have been later. He was a later round picked.
- 38:14Speaker 6: Yeah, but it was a time where I did care.
- 38:17Speaker 5: But there was a bunch of guys. Troman, I think,
- 38:20Speaker 5: was the first one that was drafted out of the
- 38:22Speaker 5: in the string that went in that like third or
- 38:24Speaker 5: fourth round range. I thought as had some potential as
- 38:28Speaker 5: a receiver and a blocker. Keene was, like Paul said,
- 38:32Speaker 5: he was a full back h back convert type. And
- 38:35Speaker 5: everybody got infatuated because his college nickname was Rambo because
- 38:38Speaker 5: he was like this, like, you know, uh kind of
- 38:42Speaker 5: great athlete, you know, great uh Jim Ratt, you know
- 38:45Speaker 5: type of guy, and and it was a little crazy,
- 38:47Speaker 5: so they called him Rambo.
- 38:49Speaker 2: He got hurt too, he had a lot of injury issues.
- 38:51Speaker 5: Well, that was what I was going to bring up.
- 38:52Speaker 5: Like not I didn't necessarily see it. I was kind
- 38:54Speaker 5: of with Paul on that, but he also had a
- 38:57Speaker 5: ton of injuries that piled up.
- 38:58Speaker 6: It makes me feel good, ball noer on my side.
- 39:01Speaker 5: Well if you do, you if he had been playing
- 39:03Speaker 5: full back, like okay, like there would have been a
- 39:05Speaker 5: role on a team for him, but like it wasn't
- 39:07Speaker 5: like he was ever going to be this huge contribute.
- 39:09Speaker 6: Definitely. Both of those guys had some injury problems right
- 39:12Speaker 6: away as rookies. But Keene had a lot of injury issues.
- 39:16Speaker 6: I think that maybe it's unfair to say he couldn't play.
- 39:18Speaker 6: I just don't think he was ever healthy enough.
- 39:20Speaker 5: To play even like back to college. He had like
- 39:22Speaker 5: he had injury issues throughout his entire football journey.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Yeah, Tayken right sin his first name is spelled t
- 39:30Speaker 4: y k y n tyken. Maybe maybe there's absolutely no way.
- 39:36Speaker 4: I'm the only one that's big on Gent at four.
- 39:39Speaker 4: You got genty in May and you really don't even
- 39:41Speaker 4: have to fix up the left side of the line anymore.
- 39:43Speaker 4: He's just laughing, But seriously, it would be so fun
- 39:47Speaker 4: to watch May and Gent carry us to a ring.
- 39:50Speaker 4: So I don't know, I want to talk about him
- 39:52Speaker 4: a little bit more because there. This is a guy
- 39:56Speaker 4: who could be you know, uh An All, Harris and Bryant.
- 40:01Speaker 6: You know, he could be Cleveland.
- 40:04Speaker 4: You know, he could be something really special. And like
- 40:07Speaker 4: if the Patriots did actually take him at flour would
- 40:12Speaker 4: you be that outrage.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Well, I don't think I should. Probably you accuse myself.
- 40:18Speaker 12: A perfect example of the first one through the wall
- 40:20Speaker 12: gets a little bloody, but then everyone else you put
- 40:23Speaker 12: the way.
- 40:24Speaker 4: For everyone else there you go.
- 40:26Speaker 9: I mean I just say, like two things for me
- 40:29Speaker 9: is that I do kind of subscribe to get your
- 40:31Speaker 9: trenches taken care of first, make sure you have the
- 40:33Speaker 9: guys up first. But I don't necessarily subscribe to there
- 40:37Speaker 9: being a set order of how you have to construct
- 40:40Speaker 9: your team where you need this player at this point,
- 40:42Speaker 9: Then you get this player at this point. Now you're
- 40:44Speaker 9: ready for running back, now you're ready to trade for
- 40:46Speaker 9: a veteran wide receiver.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Like I don't buy into like this is the order
- 40:50Speaker 2: it has to be done.
- 40:51Speaker 6: It.
- 40:51Speaker 9: I just get the best players you can get, and
- 40:53Speaker 9: eventually you hope that it all comes together in a
- 40:55Speaker 9: way that you can overcome if you still have a
- 40:57Speaker 9: hole at left tack.
- 40:58Speaker 4: So what if you do get Colton Miller. Yeah, now,
- 41:02Speaker 4: and then you draft Genty? Are you outraged? Are you
- 41:06Speaker 4: guys upset? Paul would because he's a running back.
- 41:08Speaker 5: I wouldn't be outraged if they drafted Genty because if
- 41:12Speaker 5: you're truly going to stick to the board and take
- 41:15Speaker 5: the best player available at four overall, he is the
- 41:17Speaker 5: best player on the board. Now, there's other things with
- 41:21Speaker 5: positional value and all that kind of stuff that goes
- 41:23Speaker 5: into it. But you know, to your suggestion, Fred, like
- 41:27Speaker 5: if you take Genty, the rest of the draft has
- 41:29Speaker 5: to be focused on offensive line, like where you're taking
- 41:32Speaker 5: multiple shots at tackle now, and you probably need to
- 41:37Speaker 5: add a center or a guard or somebody that can
- 41:39Speaker 5: maybe play both those spots. So you're talking about.
- 41:42Speaker 4: You're saying that you have to do that because now
- 41:45Speaker 4: if you're going to get a running back, you gotta
- 41:47Speaker 4: make sure that you can block form.
- 41:49Speaker 5: Correct.
- 41:49Speaker 6: You also didn't get a plug and play tackle because
- 41:52Speaker 6: you didn't take one at four, right, So now whoever
- 41:55Speaker 6: you get in the second round isn't as sure a
- 41:57Speaker 6: thing to be able to start right away. So Evans
- 41:59Speaker 6: saying we got to that problem with Ball.
- 42:01Speaker 5: Yeah, if you're gonna draft Genty, you need to make
- 42:03Speaker 5: it work, like you need to build the foundation around Gent.
- 42:07Speaker 5: And I was listening to Mina Kimes on ESPN talk
- 42:09Speaker 5: about Genty and she just said, you know, you can't
- 42:14Speaker 5: expect a running back to fix a bad offensive line.
- 42:17Speaker 5: Like he's not going to single handedly come in. And
- 42:19Speaker 5: she used, you know, all the examples that everybody you know,
- 42:22Speaker 5: Saquan and New York and McCaffrey and Carolina and like,
- 42:25Speaker 5: you know all these other teams that tried this, you know,
- 42:27Speaker 5: even to an extend Atlanta with Bijon, Like, you can't
- 42:31Speaker 5: expect the running back to work unless you have the
- 42:34Speaker 5: infrastructure to support the running back. So if they went
- 42:37Speaker 5: Gent and they were gonna build it around Drake May
- 42:39Speaker 5: and Ash and Genty offensively, well, then the next like
- 42:42Speaker 5: three picks better be tackle, tackle guard, because you better
- 42:46Speaker 5: load up on the offensive line and make sure that
- 42:48Speaker 5: you have that figured out.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I just I think Paul's point is really out.
- 42:51Speaker 9: I just if you were to take Genty there, I
- 42:52Speaker 9: feel like it would necessitate having to trade up from
- 42:55Speaker 9: your second round pick back into the first round to
- 42:57Speaker 9: get a tackle. If you don't get will k Hamble
- 43:00Speaker 9: or Membo up top. I think it's a long fall
- 43:04Speaker 9: and you're probably gonna then miss out on the Josh
- 43:06Speaker 9: Simmons of the world, the Connor Leis of the world.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Maybe not ursery, but.
- 43:11Speaker 9: It's like we always talk about there certain position groups,
- 43:13Speaker 9: they thin out really fast. If you don't get the
- 43:15Speaker 9: tackle in the top half of the first round, you
- 43:17Speaker 9: really are struggling to wait till that second pick and
- 43:20Speaker 9: think that there's gonna be one of those guys sitting there.
- 43:21Speaker 5: It's just your identity right like that You're now your
- 43:24Speaker 5: identity is going to be these two guys in.
- 43:27Speaker 4: The half the first run, you know, like the run.
- 43:30Speaker 9: Of edge maybe edge edge maybe like I could see
- 43:33Speaker 9: like walking Question Williams.
- 43:35Speaker 5: And there's just so many edges that like edges. So
- 43:39Speaker 5: that's a good going across the entire draft. Like I
- 43:42Speaker 5: like if you I think that, you know, you look
- 43:44Speaker 5: at receiver too, and like at some point Ted, Matthew Golden, Agbuca,
- 43:50Speaker 5: like those guys are gonna go and probably quick succession,
- 43:53Speaker 5: maybe Luther Burden if he clears, you know, off the field.
- 43:56Speaker 5: So like those four guys in particular at receiver, you know,
- 43:59Speaker 5: early tw I think you're going to see like two
- 44:01Speaker 5: or three of them like a couple of years ago,
- 44:04Speaker 5: when you know Jackson Smith and Jigba and Jordan Addison
- 44:06Speaker 5: and those guys all went in like the group of
- 44:08Speaker 5: like five picks. I think you're going to see that.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Ever, so, if you're a Lions fan back in the day,
- 44:13Speaker 4: and instead of drafting Barry Sanders, you drafted somebody and
- 44:18Speaker 4: somebody else, like the wide receiver and it resulted in
- 44:22Speaker 4: you winning a Super Bowl, which would you have rather
- 44:24Speaker 4: had Barry Sanders all those years or that super Bowl?
- 44:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it's a super Bowl, right, so that's
- 44:29Speaker 6: what you But I mean that's a different time too.
- 44:32Speaker 6: Like no one, no one would have said, like Barry
- 44:34Speaker 6: Sanders was a bad pick, but you know you said
- 44:36Speaker 6: that that I would hate it, and I would not
- 44:39Speaker 6: hate the pick because of the reasons that Mike and
- 44:42Speaker 6: Evan said about. You can make a very strong argument
- 44:45Speaker 6: that he's the best player available. The concern would be
- 44:48Speaker 6: the last thing that Evan mentioned. It sort of would
- 44:51Speaker 6: signal to me how the team would want to play.
- 44:54Speaker 6: I don't want to play that way. I think you
- 44:57Speaker 6: have a dynamic young quarterback and I want to sentuate him.
- 45:01Speaker 6: I don't want to have him handing the ball off
- 45:02Speaker 6: twenty five times a game. To Ashton genis what.
- 45:05Speaker 4: If he's Ladani and Thomlinson, he can catch the ball.
- 45:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't want I don't want to have one
- 45:10Speaker 6: guy out of the backfield that I'm reliant on. Putting
- 45:13Speaker 6: that a little bit that that's the way that Mike
- 45:15Speaker 6: Rabel played in Tennessee. So I that would be my concern.
- 45:21Speaker 6: I think Genty is a good player, and if they
- 45:23Speaker 6: take him, I will not to yo you use the
- 45:25Speaker 6: word of Paul would be outraged. I would not be outraged.
- 45:27Speaker 6: I think there's a very strong argument for it. I
- 45:30Speaker 6: would be concerned that this means they want to run
- 45:33Speaker 6: the ball, say seventy thirty, and I don't want to
- 45:35Speaker 6: do that.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I think it's that. I think that's totally reasonable.
- 45:38Speaker 9: I would just say one other thing is I think
- 45:40Speaker 9: there'll be a couple of different runs on running backs.
- 45:42Speaker 2: They'll be little pockets.
- 45:43Speaker 9: Genty will go somewhere in the top ten, but then
- 45:45Speaker 9: you'll have like the OSU kids, you know, You'll have
- 45:47Speaker 9: the North Carolina kid. They'll go in a little clump,
- 45:50Speaker 9: and then probably in like the second, late second, early third,
- 45:53Speaker 9: there's going to be another big run on running backs
- 45:55Speaker 9: when one starts to go and then teams start to
- 45:58Speaker 9: move to get there.
- 45:58Speaker 6: I think there's a lot of teams that play and
- 46:03Speaker 6: you know, like Detroit. Let's use Detroit, right. They're a
- 46:05Speaker 6: really talented team, they have a lot of they have
- 46:07Speaker 6: a lot of things going for them, and Jamier Gibbs
- 46:10Speaker 6: has been excellent. Would that offense be that much different
- 46:16Speaker 6: if it was David Montgomery and another guy and not
- 46:18Speaker 6: Jamier Gibbs. I don't that you didn't take with the
- 46:20Speaker 6: twelfth pick. Well, I have much answer for you. Before
- 46:22Speaker 6: Gibs got there, they were really good. How much assaultionis
- 46:25Speaker 6: Like Jamal Williams had like twenty touchdowns one year and
- 46:28Speaker 6: he's kind of a jaggy running back. So that's why
- 46:32Speaker 6: I wouldn't necessarily love that idea. Not saying that Jamiir
- 46:36Speaker 6: Gibbs is not light years better. He's better than Montgomery.
- 46:40Speaker 6: But what does that necessarily do for you? Is my question?
- 46:45Speaker 4: Whereas could it open it up for the passing game
- 46:49Speaker 4: because you've got that threat in the backfield that you
- 46:51Speaker 4: have to pay attention to, it makes play action that
- 46:54Speaker 4: much more.
- 46:54Speaker 6: I just don't think it works all that yeah.
- 46:57Speaker 4: It may not.
- 46:58Speaker 5: Just but just I love that Paul is with the
- 47:01Speaker 5: nerds on this.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah, well he's consistent.
- 47:03Speaker 6: I meant, but I don't want to make it sound
- 47:06Speaker 6: like I don't think you should ever run the ball.
- 47:08Speaker 6: I think that you need to be able to run
- 47:09Speaker 6: the ball effectively in situations. You need to be good
- 47:12Speaker 6: in short yardage. You need to be good on the
- 47:13Speaker 6: goal line, goal to go, you need to be able
- 47:15Speaker 6: to run the ball into the into the end zone.
- 47:17Speaker 6: And you need to be a good full You need
- 47:19Speaker 6: to be a good four minute offense. When the other
- 47:21Speaker 6: team knows you're going to run, can you line up
- 47:23Speaker 6: three times and get a first down? That's not an
- 47:25Speaker 6: easy thing to do. So I'm not suggesting these teams
- 47:28Speaker 6: that want to run the ball there's stupid. No that
- 47:31Speaker 6: there's a time like Philadelphia was a ground oriented offense
- 47:35Speaker 6: and just won the Super Bowl going away. So I'm
- 47:37Speaker 6: not telling you you can't win doing that. I think
- 47:40Speaker 6: that's an exceptionally talented roster that would have won the
- 47:43Speaker 6: Super Bowl without Saquon Barkley, even though Saquon Barkley ran
- 47:47Speaker 6: for two thousand yards. I think that they were really,
- 47:50Speaker 6: really good. I think that's sort of an anomaly. I
- 47:55Speaker 6: you know, Detroit is also really really good, but they
- 47:59Speaker 6: don't need just like this star running back that you
- 48:02Speaker 6: use the top fifteen pick on. They're good because they
- 48:06Speaker 6: have good players the offensive line, you know, good receivers
- 48:10Speaker 6: that sort of I think the receivers open it for
- 48:12Speaker 6: the running back, not the other way around. But it
- 48:15Speaker 6: is definitely and Hunter Henry talked about this with us
- 48:17Speaker 6: last week about how it's sort of changing a little
- 48:21Speaker 6: bit and teams are relying a little bit more on
- 48:23Speaker 6: the run game nowadays. So but it's probably cyclical. I'm
- 48:26Speaker 6: probably going to be looking bad in the next year
- 48:28Speaker 6: or two.
- 48:29Speaker 9: I don't know, though, because you know Tevan's point about
- 48:31Speaker 9: the nerds, and we heard this, you know, from Ben
- 48:33Speaker 9: Johnson in Indy and you're even heard it from Rabel
- 48:36Speaker 9: that pass EPA is almost more important or not almost
- 48:39Speaker 9: pass EPA is more important than turnovers.
- 48:41Speaker 2: And that's what we always talk about.
- 48:43Speaker 9: It seems like a lot in the past here it
- 48:44Speaker 9: always started and ended with just don't turn the ball
- 48:46Speaker 9: over that you know, be safe with the ball.
- 48:48Speaker 2: That's but I think that backs up what you're saying, Paul.
- 48:51Speaker 9: It's saying we need to be and Rabel said, I
- 48:53Speaker 9: think in his opening press comes we need to be
- 48:54Speaker 9: efficient with the pass and that's and that's what it is.
- 48:57Speaker 2: So I don't think you're wrong.
- 48:58Speaker 4: I think you may early you need to on the ball,
- 49:00Speaker 4: but the top flight is a luxury.
- 49:04Speaker 6: They I don't think you'll need to have that stud
- 49:07Speaker 6: running back to be able to run the ball well
- 49:09Speaker 6: enough to have a good offense.
- 49:10Speaker 5: I just think that people here, like when it comes
- 49:12Speaker 5: to the NERD stuff, they it's not about volume, it's
- 49:16Speaker 5: about efficiency. Like no one's saying never run the ball
- 49:19Speaker 5: like that. That's not anyone's take on this whatsoever.
- 49:22Speaker 4: It's to run.
- 49:26Speaker 5: No one ever said like no, no nerd ever says
- 49:30Speaker 5: do not don't run the ball. Period. But the point is,
- 49:33Speaker 5: to Mike's point is just that the passing efficiency is
- 49:38Speaker 5: the number one thing, whether you want to use EPA,
- 49:40Speaker 5: whether you want to use passer rating deficiency, you know,
- 49:42Speaker 5: what you give up versus what you score and passer
- 49:45Speaker 5: rating like those things more or less decide games, Like
- 49:48Speaker 5: when you look at the correlation between wins and losses,
- 49:51Speaker 5: that that's it. And I just the other thing with
- 49:53Speaker 5: gent and I understand that you know you can you
- 49:58Speaker 5: can say this about any prospect, but like the Ladanian
- 50:01Speaker 5: Tomlinson comp to me is just a little bit crazy,
- 50:04Speaker 5: Like and like we're comping him to a top five
- 50:08Speaker 5: running back in the history of the league that's had
- 50:10Speaker 5: a lot of really good running backs, a first ballot
- 50:14Speaker 5: Hall of Famer. Like I I think he's a great player,
- 50:16Speaker 5: and I think he's a great prospect, but I don't
- 50:19Speaker 5: know if he's Ladanian Thomlinson.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I mean, you've made yeah comp.
- 50:23Speaker 9: I think that's probably closer to where he is. I
- 50:25Speaker 9: think he might be a little better than Morris Jones Drew,
- 50:27Speaker 9: but I think he's probably closer to him than he.
- 50:29Speaker 5: Yeah, And and you know, like Bijon Robinson when he
- 50:32Speaker 5: came out, was touted as a blue chip, you know,
- 50:35Speaker 5: elite running back and he's been good, but he hasn't
- 50:37Speaker 5: been you know, uh, Ladanian Tomlinson for Atlanta. So I
- 50:43Speaker 5: just I understand that everybody you know sees that comp
- 50:47Speaker 5: At NFL dot Com, I think is you know, lands
- 50:49Speaker 5: their line has comped him to to Ladanian Tomlinson, and
- 50:52Speaker 5: it's like it's setting the bar extremely high that he's
- 50:55Speaker 5: going to be there.
- 50:56Speaker 6: And to me, It's less about like all the you know,
- 50:58Speaker 6: the the analyticals out of it with Evan and Mike
- 51:01Speaker 6: are talking about with the EPA and you know, the
- 51:04Speaker 6: percentages running and whatever. The biggest reason I don't want
- 51:09Speaker 6: to use that high a pick on a running back
- 51:11Speaker 6: is the shelf life, Like, what is he going to
- 51:14Speaker 6: look like when I have to pay in his second contract?
- 51:17Speaker 6: Am I going to get a bang for that? You know?
- 51:19Speaker 6: Whereas you know I can get an edge rusher who's
- 51:21Speaker 6: going to be entering his prime, I can get a
- 51:23Speaker 6: wide receiver who's going to be good for another ten years, right,
- 51:27Speaker 6: you know you're going to pay out at the point
- 51:29Speaker 6: you never you never know. I mean, these guys can
- 51:32Speaker 6: lose it like that, and that league injuries happened. You know,
- 51:35Speaker 6: Agent like Jamar Chase just signed the biggest wide receiver
- 51:39Speaker 6: deal and he that that's exactly what we're talking about.
- 51:42Speaker 6: Would you feel better giving Jamar Chase the contract he
- 51:44Speaker 6: got or having to go to Jamiir Gibbs right now
- 51:47Speaker 6: and giving him I mean, obviously he's not going to
- 51:49Speaker 6: get that wide receiver contract, but making him the highest
- 51:51Speaker 6: paid running back in the history of the game, I'd
- 51:54Speaker 6: feel a lot better about Chase, not because I think
- 51:57Speaker 6: I think Jamiir Gibbs, for what he's asked to do,
- 51:59Speaker 6: is pretty pretty close in talents to Jamar Chase. I mean,
- 52:05Speaker 6: I think you can make that his explosiveness, his big playability.
- 52:08Speaker 6: He transforms that often. He's a great player. But would
- 52:11Speaker 6: you feel great about having to make him the highest
- 52:13Speaker 6: paid running back ever, you know, when he's in his
- 52:15Speaker 6: fifty year, as opposed to giving the wide receiver the
- 52:18Speaker 6: highest paid wide receiver ever going to feed year.
- 52:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:21Speaker 5: I always look at, you know, Zeke's career arc and
- 52:25Speaker 5: that's what I expect Genti's career to look a lot
- 52:29Speaker 5: like because both of them were relied so heavily on
- 52:31Speaker 5: in college, you know, at their respective schools that they
- 52:34Speaker 5: really carried their offenses in college. And then they got
- 52:38Speaker 5: to the pros and Zeke and his rookie contract was
- 52:40Speaker 5: one of the best running backs in the league.
- 52:42Speaker 6: For another one of those guys, Leon Bell Y Leveon
- 52:45Speaker 6: Bell had nine million carries at Michigan State, and he
- 52:47Speaker 6: was really good with Pittsburgh right for a while.
- 52:50Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, Zeke was All Pro running back for three,
- 52:53Speaker 5: four or five years and the Cowboys gave him that
- 52:55Speaker 5: second contract, and it just.
- 52:57Speaker 6: And they know in that position, knows that the short
- 53:00Speaker 6: shelf life puts a lot of pressure on them to
- 53:02Speaker 6: get that contract. For a guy like Bell, he was
- 53:05Speaker 6: constantly holding out. He was constantly you know, squawking because
- 53:08Speaker 6: he knew and it wasn't his fault. He knew, I'm
- 53:10Speaker 6: not gonna be I'm not gonna be a great running
- 53:12Speaker 6: back for twelve years. That doesn't really have you know,
- 53:14Speaker 6: Curtis Martin's don't come along very often.
- 53:16Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, Okay, time to take a break. Foods here,

- 55:17Speaker 1: Guys, let's get into what we have for the week.
- 55:19Speaker 1: All right, wait for this sure?
- 55:20Speaker 2: All right?
- 55:21Speaker 1: Email one from Daniel.
- 55:23Speaker 16: Is there a world where Carter, despite your opinions, is
- 55:26Speaker 16: passed on by the Patriots to take Campbell and address
- 55:29Speaker 16: the line of Hunters?
- 55:30Speaker 2: Not there?
- 55:31Speaker 1: So, if I'm.
- 55:32Speaker 16: Reading this correctly, Carter's there for right, and we take
- 55:36Speaker 16: Campbell instead, that.
- 55:37Speaker 12: Would be the true like take the need, not the
- 55:40Speaker 12: best players available, and I hope not.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think there's.
- 55:44Speaker 5: I don't think that would be great personally.
- 55:47Speaker 4: I think you.
- 55:47Speaker 6: Gotta go Carter.
- 55:48Speaker 16: Yeah, I don't think there's a world where I don't
- 55:50Speaker 16: think you can do that. No, he's too good at
- 55:52Speaker 16: because you can and.
- 55:52Speaker 17: You're going to get an edge rusher down the line
- 55:54Speaker 17: anyways in this draft, in my opinion, I.
- 55:56Speaker 8: Think they will so definitely a need, right, Yeah, So
- 55:59Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 55:59Speaker 16: Why Carter's there. You take Carter and then you trade
- 56:03Speaker 16: back in and.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Get the line. Then Yeah, that's what they should do.
- 56:06Speaker 1: That's what I think would happen.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, you got to hope.
- 56:09Speaker 16: Yeah, all right, better, okay, email forward, Fred is right,
- 56:14Speaker 16: Will Campbell slash arm length, Good morning. I missed the
- 56:17Speaker 16: newsletter last week, but I was informed that my email
- 56:20Speaker 16: was named Email of the Week?
- 56:21Speaker 1: Do I win a T shirt? Matthew, so alex your newsletter?
- 56:25Speaker 12: Theoretically okay, theoretically, yes, I'm you win a T shirt.
- 56:30Speaker 12: That was always the plan for the winner of the
- 56:33Speaker 12: Email of the week. However, we're in a situation where we're.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Down to just smalls. I'm the T shirt guy, and
- 56:43Speaker 1: so we have smalls.
- 56:44Speaker 4: I think I could squeeze.
- 56:46Speaker 1: Listen, I could squeeze.
- 56:48Speaker 16: Like guys, The T shirts are coming, but there's been
- 56:51Speaker 16: rumors of maybe an updated logo, like we want to
- 56:55Speaker 16: change some of the styles.
- 56:57Speaker 17: You've been saying this for a year and a half.
- 57:00Speaker 12: The quality of the shirt we want to improve. Fred
- 57:03Speaker 12: isn't thrilled with the questions right now.
- 57:04Speaker 1: It's aware it once and it's gone. Of course it's done.
- 57:07Speaker 12: So Matissa and I are kind of in this limbo
- 57:09Speaker 12: with the higher up powers that be, where like we
- 57:12Speaker 12: would love to just reorder a whole new batch of
- 57:15Speaker 12: T shirts, right and because like we have a don't worry,
- 57:18Speaker 12: Like if you've won and you haven't received a T
- 57:20Speaker 12: shirt yet, Like we have a list, it's not back order, it's.
- 57:26Speaker 11: Not back order.
- 57:27Speaker 12: But we have you all accounted for, We have your email.
- 57:30Speaker 11: Addresses, et cetera.
- 57:33Speaker 12: I take obvious responsibility, ultimate accountability for the newsletter, but.
- 57:37Speaker 1: I take accountability for the T shirts.
- 57:39Speaker 12: But there's a couple of things that are out of
- 57:41Speaker 12: Matisa and I's hand right now, where in the next
- 57:45Speaker 12: week or two we are going to just lock Fred
- 57:47Speaker 12: in a room essentially and figure out how he wants
- 57:52Speaker 12: to handle this, if we.
- 57:52Speaker 11: Should just reorder a batch to hold us over for now,
- 57:57Speaker 11: or if we seriously.
- 57:58Speaker 12: Have these creative talks like are we going to update
- 58:01Speaker 12: the logo?
- 58:02Speaker 11: Are we going to update the quality?
- 58:04Speaker 1: Like we want long sleeve T shirts?
- 58:06Speaker 11: And of course, like we can't.
- 58:08Speaker 12: They can't just be like, oh, Comfort Colors makes great
- 58:11Speaker 12: T shirts, let's disorder those, because it's it has to
- 58:15Speaker 12: be like NFL licensing the low, like there's all so
- 58:19Speaker 12: many hoops to jump through. But I promise you guys,
- 58:21Speaker 12: we haven't forgotten about you. But if you are a
- 58:23Speaker 12: size small and you've won an Email of the week,
- 58:26Speaker 12: let us know because we have smalls four days.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Yes, small smalls, they're good gifts for you.
- 58:31Speaker 4: Guys are doing great.
- 58:33Speaker 2: You guys are both doing alright.
- 58:35Speaker 16: Let's move on to the next one, all right. From
- 58:37Speaker 16: Florian Gooski, Greetings from Germany. Greetings, where do you guys
- 58:41Speaker 16: rank Dereck Henry at all time running backs? I watch
- 58:44Speaker 16: a lot of NFL content, but I've never seen any
- 58:46Speaker 16: any conversation on this theme. By the way, PU is
- 58:49Speaker 16: always the number one content on my list. Catch twenty
- 58:51Speaker 16: two as well. Alex Barth currently annoys me with this
- 58:54Speaker 16: constant improvement of the names that Evan says Florian, Uh.
- 58:59Speaker 17: I'll jump in here. I think Derrick Henry I feel
- 59:02Speaker 17: like all the older running backs like that was the
- 59:04Speaker 17: peak of the running back position, like the Marshall falls Smith's.
- 59:10Speaker 5: I would give him top twenty, maybe top thirty.
- 59:12Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 59:13Speaker 17: There are a lot of running back There's so many
- 59:14Speaker 17: good running backs in this world.
- 59:16Speaker 16: And that being said, I think he's the last of
- 59:18Speaker 16: a dying breed. I don't think he'll ever be another Derek.
- 59:20Speaker 11: Henry again talking like modern day running back.
- 59:24Speaker 12: I mean, he's just a specimen. Like I say all
- 59:26Speaker 12: the time, that man was made in a test.
- 59:28Speaker 16: To I mean twenty ten, twenty tens, he's top yeah, right,
- 59:33Speaker 16: top five?
- 59:33Speaker 2: Is that fair?
- 59:34Speaker 1: Twenty tens?
- 59:35Speaker 4: I would give honestly top ten?
- 59:38Speaker 1: When did he hit the league? Twenty sixteen top three?
- 59:41Speaker 6: Sixteen, twenty fifteen.
- 59:44Speaker 11: Top three?
- 59:44Speaker 8: I think he's finally on a team where people will
- 59:47Speaker 8: appreciate his I.
- 59:48Speaker 17: Mean he got a first last year, for sure player
- 59:51Speaker 17: with Lamar, Yeah, for sure his final couple of years.
- 59:54Speaker 8: That team is a cheek code.
- 59:55Speaker 16: I mean, Derrick Henry pretty much knocked Brady out of
- 59:59Speaker 16: Fox Bro. They just did a back dive for a
- 1:00:00Speaker 16: whole game. It's true, all right, Last one, guys, Paul
- 1:00:05Speaker 16: in Action? All right, guys, holy blank, I don't know
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: if that Paul Action figure is a joke or real.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I'm still catching up on.
- 1:00:11Speaker 16: Tuesdays and Yesterday's shows, But if that's the real, tell
- 1:00:14Speaker 16: if that's real, tell me where to send the check
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: or who to call with my credit card.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I'm Paul's biggest fan.
- 1:00:18Speaker 16: I'm sure you guys are screwing around, but that's all
- 1:00:20Speaker 16: I have to say, if that's legit, thanks Matt and
- 1:00:22Speaker 16: Fort Myers.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: So this is the Alex project.
- 1:00:26Speaker 11: This was my little brain child. Unfortunately it's not real.
- 1:00:30Speaker 12: This was for those unfamiliar, for those not on Twitter,
- 1:00:33Speaker 12: it was kind of like an AI trend to create.
- 1:00:37Speaker 11: Everyone was creating.
- 1:00:38Speaker 12: These little dolls of themselves, right, and I was like,
- 1:00:42Speaker 12: oh man, thinking about the wheels returning, about the PU crew,
- 1:00:46Speaker 12: and there was just so much content there. But I
- 1:00:49Speaker 12: was like, okay, first is going to be Paul. Paul's
- 1:00:51Speaker 12: the easiest one. I can just rot the accessories exactly
- 1:00:56Speaker 12: so they're not real. It was a little chat GPT
- 1:01:00Speaker 12: projects like I put in some overtime hours refining it,
- 1:01:04Speaker 12: coming up with the little sayings like I think I
- 1:01:09Speaker 12: worked on that till like eight pm, just perfecting it
- 1:01:12Speaker 12: that Thursday night.
- 1:01:15Speaker 11: But the reception has been amazing, So we're gonna do.
- 1:01:18Speaker 8: Let's put oh that's not about it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: All featured shirt. So I'm gonna do.
- 1:01:26Speaker 12: I'll probably do Fred next for this upcoming newsletter, just
- 1:01:32Speaker 12: because it was such a hit for Paul's. But I've
- 1:01:36Speaker 12: gotten a lot of text messages, emails, tweets saying like,
- 1:01:40Speaker 12: if you guys sold this, it would sell out instantly,
- 1:01:44Speaker 12: So maybe we need to get in touch with like
- 1:01:46Speaker 12: I don't know if you guys have any toy manufacturers
- 1:01:49Speaker 12: in your rolodex, if you have any contexts maybe in
- 1:01:55Speaker 12: China that we can get this done and manufactured at
- 1:01:57Speaker 12: a good price. Let me know, reach out and maybe
- 1:02:01Speaker 12: it'd be something fun to auction off and we could
- 1:02:04Speaker 12: get Paul a new car with the process.
- 1:02:06Speaker 17: What you could do is on the T shirt Patriots
- 1:02:08Speaker 17: unfiltered across the chest under is each action figure as
- 1:02:12Speaker 17: it goes down, so it's like each person.
- 1:02:14Speaker 12: Under the Yeah, there was another trend too, where you
- 1:02:18Speaker 12: like turn yourself for like a famous picture into an anime.
- 1:02:22Speaker 12: So I didn't know which one I wanted to do first.
- 1:02:24Speaker 12: But I don't think there's a good picture of the
- 1:02:26Speaker 12: entire PU crew.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Something from a training camp, But even.
- 1:02:32Speaker 11: Training camp, I don't think all five of us.
- 1:02:34Speaker 8: Have ever done a show together.
- 1:02:35Speaker 12: It's always I have one from my first season of
- 1:02:39Speaker 12: training camp with just Paul, Fred and Deuce, but me
- 1:02:45Speaker 12: and Evan are never doing it together. So maybe we
- 1:02:47Speaker 12: need to take a group photo for some promo and
- 1:02:51Speaker 12: then multipurpose it for like an anime. Photo or like
- 1:02:55Speaker 12: a T shirt purpose or autograph purposes autograph. But yeah, chatchie,
- 1:03:01Speaker 12: he was working overtime for me.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I wish I had that during college, but that's a
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: different story.
- 1:03:07Speaker 16: Guys, thank you for turning into the tuning into the
- 1:03:09Speaker 16: pu extras. If you have any other emails, send them
- 1:03:12Speaker 16: in the podcast at Patriots dot com. If they don't
- 1:03:14Speaker 16: get right on the show, we'll read them here. All right,
- 1:03:15Speaker 16: let's get back to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: And now great moments in.
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: History. Why the Patriots never blew anybody out of the
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Super Bowl says always been a mystery to men.
- 1:03:28Speaker 6: I think they're kind of low key. One night, you know,
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: I never felt like Evans says that he never had
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: any fear of losing the game against France. I never
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: had any fear of losing.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: That's exactly.
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: I had fear of going to Pittsburgh in THEFC Championship game,
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: and I know what the score ended up being, but
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: that game to me was the Super Bowl. I never
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: had any fear. I thought that the Patriots did not
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: play particularly well in the first half of that game.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: The second half they asserted their dominance. They got a
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: ten point lead with whatever it was three minutes left. Yeah,
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: Eagles got to know by the way touchdown at the end.
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: It's a perfect comparison exactly how I never felt that
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: game was in doubt.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't feel fear it myself. Yeah you were
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: thinking you were at that one for oh god, Yeah,
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: come on, I wasn't.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: Oh that was the one Pop didn't get to go to.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: That's another great moment. All right back here in Patriotsunfiltered
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: eight five to five past five hundred is the Hotline
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: podcast at Patriots dot com. Is the way to email us.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: And by the way, if you want to sign up
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: for the PU newsletter, go to Patriots dot com slash
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: PU Newsletter you can sign up. Alex. Anything cool in
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: this one.
- 1:04:41Speaker 12: Little dropt talk a little maybe a part two of
- 1:04:44Speaker 12: last week's I don't want to give too much away.
- 1:04:48Speaker 8: It was part one, Part one. The Paul action figure,
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: Oh okay, which I think we have a demand to
- 1:04:57Speaker 8: create a.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: Little everybody's doing a the show.
- 1:05:00Speaker 12: But if we actually had one manufactured, I think we actually.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Have a meeting with get him on the shelves so
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: you can get these actually made. No, I'm saying if
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: we were it were it would fly off the show.
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: We could probably do an auction for you.
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: Can put them in stores, just saying, so, is anyone
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: like leveraging this and actually now creating them that you
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: can buy them and have them, Not that I've.
- 1:05:22Speaker 12: Seen, but like, if we have a listener with a
- 1:05:26Speaker 12: three D printer, hit us up because okay, or.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: If there's a way any way that I can make
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: money off, please.
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: Well not the organization off, and we'll get him officially
- 1:05:38Speaker 9: licensed parlough swag.
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: Yeah, you got to.
- 1:05:44Speaker 11: People were like, you guys, don't realize, like we would
- 1:05:47Speaker 11: buy this.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: So remember like Barbie would have liked and she'd have
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: her get like so Paul would have like a Toyota
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: that you could buy. His dream house, would have the man.
- 1:05:58Speaker 12: Cave, different outfits, yeah, grotto quarters, zips, the college edition.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: Then you would have like you do the Paul Perillo
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: like current. But then you have like the generation have
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: like the picture like the high school one with the
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: prom with the necklace with the Italian horn and then
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: it had chin right, and then you have the white
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: edition and he's holding up his you know, uh.
- 1:06:32Speaker 12: Yeah, well that would be the accessory, would be the
- 1:06:34Speaker 12: Hall of Fame plaque.
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: Right like, there's a lot of.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: And then the middle age rage edition where he's yelling
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: at someone at the Dunkin Donuts drive through.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and then the current day one day, this is
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: just from my day.
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: The drive through never lets me forget duncan.
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: But then there's toys.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: First of all, it was babies.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: That doesn't make it.
- 1:07:02Speaker 7: Better, Paul, are you ready to talk about this?
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: A woman, uh cut in front of me. I had
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: I was buying cut in front of them. I was
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: buying diapers in bulk, and a woman cut in front
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: of me, and I like, you know, I did a
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: Paul snark, just gonna go. I guess I wasn't waiting here.
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: Oh I'm sorry, go ahead, oh go ahead, like you
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: blatantly just walked in front of me. And then she
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: looked at me and she goes, oh you have all
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: those diapers. I'm sorry. Now I see why, and she
- 1:07:35Speaker 6: like just like walked away like I was cranky because
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: I have a newborn, and I just lost it.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: And I thought she was trying to be nice. No, no, no,
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: just standing she cut.
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: No, she was being snooty. Correct And now did I overreact? Yeah? Probably?
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: But you threw the diapers at her.
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: I did not what you're doing. You see what happens, brother,
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: And then I got I was like, you know, I
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: was like said something and like walked out, and she
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: she walked out. And then I checked out, and I
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: got my car and I drove around. And as I
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: drove around, she happened to be right there. I stopped,
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: put the window down, and don't ever talk about my
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: kids again.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: Straight because you're going to see her.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Book.
- 1:08:27Speaker 9: You guys have both told people in parking lots from
- 1:08:30Speaker 9: your car to watch out.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: Oh yeah, not like him.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I did that. Listen.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: I know Alex doesn't want to give away too much
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: with the newsletter, but one of the questions that we
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: asked is who has the most red flags that teams
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: would have to look into before drafting.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: I think we all know, you know, I kind of
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: overlooked myself there. I might be the one I've I've
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: might be I've skirted disaster many times.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: I was not. I was nice. I didn't get into
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: any of the particular None of.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: You guys had a gun point.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: I was just going to bring that up.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: He's hap he has gun violence in his past.
- 1:09:07Speaker 8: I've watten.
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: Off, he'd be a lot off a lot of people's boards.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: That's professional though, that's a professional situation. Man.
- 1:09:15Speaker 11: Why were you held that gun?
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: Point?
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: It's a long story which time, just the mean streets
- 1:09:19Speaker 9: at Dennis, Massachusetts in Florida, the gun and like.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: Something that had nothing to do with me. That's the
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: night that the Williams brothers shot Russell burst in the
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: front yard.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: But you see, like the multiple wasn't plus like brothers.
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: Sounds like here one over here.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: But I had nothing to do with the.
- 1:09:41Speaker 6: Wrong place, wrong time.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: Do a live before you move on. Oh yeah, thank you.
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: Speaking of murder.

- 1:10:56Speaker 6: How do you look at me?
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: I don't know you and the furniture you chopping for
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: furniture these days?
- 1:11:02Speaker 8: No, no need some patio furniture.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: Patio furniture, Yeah, I actually you know what I do.
- 1:11:08Speaker 8: You know in the garden, you know what is sneaky
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: expensive patio furniture.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: It's not that sneaky. It's really expensive. I need a
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: gazebo and you get what you pay for.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: If you buy cheap stuff, it'll it won't last because weather.
- 1:11:21Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: And then more sneaky expensive are the cushions. So sometimes
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: you get the chair and that's reasonable, but to get
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: like weather waterproof cushions, those can be like one hundred
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: and fifty bucks a cushion.
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: I take them. I either take them. I take them
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: in for the winter. But I also have a cover
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: in this even even in the summer, I cover it.
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: Burn every night you're going out, you're covering up the
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: that's ridiculous. Yeah, it's like your routine, like.
- 1:11:49Speaker 8: You have a cover for it or do you like
- 1:11:50Speaker 8: take the pushs and put it in.
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: No, there's a cover for it. It fits right over
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: It's like you know one of those rattan it's yeah, conceptionals, yeah,
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: and it fits right over it. But you don't take
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: it off every single day, so it's not like I
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: have to cover it every day like a lot of times. Yeah,
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: a lot of times. But it's it's also under a
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: like a gazebo on my deck. Okay, but I need
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: a new one because that one went over the top
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: of the deck. Classroom, grotto wind I mean, yeah, for
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: my above ground pool, I have the grotto and my
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: you know what's fifteen by thirty above ground? What's four
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: feet all around?
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: Once I take the covers off the furniture, it doesn't
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: go back on until September.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty much they stay. I get sun bleached
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: and covered in pine needles, and that's a disaster.
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: You I don't know, just white cushions, but outdoor furniture
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: and expensive.
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: Yeah, jacket though worth it them. Spend a lot of
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: time outside.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the best that you got it. You got
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: a beer, right, your beer? You got the Red Sox
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: game on the radio.
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: Yeah to the wireless.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: You have an outdoor TV, you know? Oh, so how
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: do you listen to the Red Sox if you're outdoors?
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: I don't know, my friend, I'm like everybody else nowadays.
- 1:13:05Speaker 6: I don't care about pigs.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: That was the softball. I'm just waiting for you to
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: hit it out.
- 1:13:09Speaker 12: My friend's dad just built this awesome covered patio thing
- 1:13:13Speaker 12: on their deck and they have a fireplace with It's
- 1:13:16Speaker 12: like an outdoor living room.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: So you want to be out there that's flat top,
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: like maybe flat top.
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: There's guy on my station on my shows, how.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: There is getting carted off with an injury?
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: What's that good looking guy to the left?
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: All right, calls and emails podcasts at Patriots dot com
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: as the email address Jasper and main right, Sin you said, Evan,
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: skipping the hangover brunch is a rookie move. I guess
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: we were talking about weddings. Weddings earlier. You took the poison.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: You got to power through and take the cure. When
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: you're laying their post party feeling halfway in the grave,
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: look to the motto of the twenty twenty three Patriots.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: No one is coming, It's up to us.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: So I've only I only had to do that once,
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: so I only completely skipped it once. It was my
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: cousin's wedding and I was nineteen and so I wasn't
- 1:14:06Speaker 5: even of age yet and I but it was my
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: cousin's wedding and there was nobody telling me I couldn't.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: So we were we had some drinks. But at my
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: sister's wedding, heard I the night before when we went
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: to bed at like three o'clock in the morning, we're like,
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: we're gonna we have to, like our parents are gonna
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: kill us if we're not at the brunch, so like
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: we have to get up for the brunch. And the
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: two of us got up and we were like green,
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: like we were, please just get me some food.
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: So he's.
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: Y, Yeah, that's how I.
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: Don't have a will to live until I have a
- 1:14:36Speaker 8: breakfast food.
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: The food saved me otherwise, like I was going downhill
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: and the food saved me.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: For sure. Draft questions. Can Campbell's glaring lack of with
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: be compensated by pairing him with an exceptionally girthy guard?
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: I'm not saying pause, So can his lack of with
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: I think with wingspan with okay, curse be compensated by
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: pairing him with an exceptionally big guard.
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: I mean, I'm sure there are things that could help
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: by having a good left guard next to a good
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: left tackle in any way, but he's gonna have to
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: figure it out himself. And like I'm not. I know,
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: everybody makes a big deal about this type of stuff,
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: and like I feel like now the popular take is
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: actually it's the wingspan that's worse, you know, like that's
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: like the new thing to be the ball Knower's about.
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: But I don't necessarily look at it that way because
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: he is playing tackle versus playing inside, where you do
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: want to have like wider bodies and you do want
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: to take up more space when you're playing on the interior.
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: I would be a little bit more worried about arm
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: length than wingspan.
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: If the Patriots don't draft a defensive tackle in this
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: incredibly deep class. Should I assume Barmar is full go.
- 1:15:52Speaker 9: I don't know about the defensive tackle class being deep.
- 1:15:55Speaker 9: I think it's fine, But yeah, i'd love to see
- 1:15:59Speaker 9: them just add some more youth to Their'd love to see,
- 1:16:03Speaker 9: you know, Tonga may be able to cut that body
- 1:16:06Speaker 9: type not you know, day three early day three kind
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: of thing.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: But I don't really see it as a huge need.
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: Really.
- 1:16:12Speaker 6: I wouldn't read anything into Barmore. I think that they
- 1:16:17Speaker 6: probably are cautiously optimistic that they think X is going
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: to happen, but you don't know. I mean, when they
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: brought him back last year, I'm sure they didn't think
- 1:16:26Speaker 6: that they were going to have to pull the plug. Yeah,
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: So I would just I wouldn't read too much into
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: subsequent moves as related to what they think of Barboy's availability.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Decide he's at the program right now. That's as much
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: positivity as you can have right now.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: I mean, like if they went out and drafted Mason Graham,
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: then maybe I would read more into it. But if
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: they take a guy in the third round because he's
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: just a good football player and they like the guy,
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: I don't think that automatically means like Christian Barmore's is
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: not going to play next year. But if they drafted
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: somebody in the first round at that spot, then I
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: probably would would think of it.
- 1:17:05Speaker 6: I guess my point is, even if they think Barboa
- 1:17:08Speaker 6: is gonna play, there's no guarantees that he will be
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: able to. Yeah, they can't possibly know that, you know,
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: right now they feel like they have something in place.
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: It's not like his knee is healed or you know,
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: that broken arm is no longer broken. This is something
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: that's a little.
- 1:17:23Speaker 9: Bit And then in that respect, Paul I feel like
- 1:17:25Speaker 9: maybe they should, like they should continue to stack. And
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: even if it's a guy who's more of an upfield
- 1:17:30Speaker 9: type like he and Milton Williams are that, even then
- 1:17:32Speaker 9: it still maybe makes sense too if you're operating under
- 1:17:34Speaker 9: the assumption.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Of we just don't know. We can't rely on them.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: Adam and Louisiana. There was a lot of talk of
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: the abundance of small PU T shirts during the halftime show.
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: If you're looking to get rid of them, my wife
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: could really use one. Her only NFL related clothing is
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: a shirt that says got Taylor's boyfriend makes me gag
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: every time she wears it, So please help me get
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: her something else to wear. Matt Morale, have we ordered
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: new T shirts?
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: What's going on with the text?
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Me t's right now and find out he's in charge
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: of it?
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: What do I have to do to like get T shirts?
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:18:04Speaker 8: Hats to The whole thing is like, are we upgrading
- 1:18:06Speaker 8: the qualities?
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: Yeah? That was one of my directives on this show.
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: I said, I want my directors so that when you
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: wash them, they don't.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Shrink, right, they shrank?
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: So what's what's the good brand that you get?
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Guild's pretty solid. Gilded makes a good one, like a
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: good I like Comfort colors, Okay, Gilden is like the
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: cheap one.
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: But they have like tears though you know, have levels.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but now you know terrorists T shirts printing?
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: Okay, just like mumbles, what is going on over there?
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: I just listen.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: I'm thinking about, you know, my business, my T shirt
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: production business, as it used to.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: Be like sunsetting, because Andy used to be like that.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: The first half of the show, he'd be like on
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: rocket fuel and then by like one Fi.
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: Sner's lunch came well after yesterday.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: I am officially almost in the AARP. I would guess
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: I'm getting closer to that, so maybe maybe I am starting.
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: To sell more year.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Huh okay, Old Anthony writes in Loving the AARP Show,
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: Everyone's favorite caller, Christian from La is on the phone.
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: What's up, Christian?
- 1:19:21Speaker 18: Hey you guys, good afternoon, and thank you for taking
- 1:19:23Speaker 18: my call here in La La Land where it's currently
- 1:19:27Speaker 18: cloudy and cold, so it feels like Boston.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: Hey.
- 1:19:31Speaker 18: So on the the action figures thing you guys were
- 1:19:35Speaker 18: just talking about.
- 1:19:36Speaker 19: I don't know if you know, but here in La
- 1:19:39Speaker 19: I only a way for me, so I.
- 1:19:41Speaker 18: Always get exposed different websites and stuff coming down the line.
- 1:19:45Speaker 18: So you guys are talking about a website called doppel
- 1:19:48Speaker 18: d o p L which lets you take any like
- 1:19:52Speaker 18: Steed or picture and literally make into an action figger.
- 1:19:57Speaker 18: I've not done it, so I don't know what the
- 1:19:58Speaker 18: cost is per but you know, check it out at DPL,
- 1:20:02Speaker 18: I believe, and then the course check out way for
- 1:20:04Speaker 18: me my app. But after football, we would have the
- 1:20:07Speaker 18: conversation the other day about the wide receiver class, and
- 1:20:11Speaker 18: it dawned on us like I would never advocate for
- 1:20:14Speaker 18: the loss of anyone's job, but who is our a
- 1:20:17Speaker 18: wide receiver scout? And why does this guy still have
- 1:20:19Speaker 18: a job.
- 1:20:20Speaker 19: I mean, we said, you take a team like Pittsburgh,
- 1:20:23Speaker 19: and no matter where they land on the board, they
- 1:20:25Speaker 19: seem to always be able to find a impact wide receiver,
- 1:20:29Speaker 19: not just a guy who can play or who can
- 1:20:31Speaker 19: fit in, but they find impact wide receivers. And so
- 1:20:35Speaker 19: that brought the question up, is this something that our
- 1:20:38Speaker 19: front office needs to spend more resources on? Is there
- 1:20:41Speaker 19: like a high caliber sort of you know, position scout,
- 1:20:44Speaker 19: and then what are the credentials to become a position scout?
- 1:20:48Speaker 19: And can we like get Pittsburgh's position scout for wide receivers?
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't think they do it by position
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: located by the area.
- 1:20:57Speaker 9: But I would just say I think I'm holding out
- 1:21:00Speaker 9: small belief that maybe there's some changes made after the draft.
- 1:21:03Speaker 9: I think it's pretty common for new teams when they
- 1:21:05Speaker 9: get a new regime in that the scouting staff stays
- 1:21:07Speaker 9: on through the draft and.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Then maybe there are some changes afterwards. I think I
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: think it's possible.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: I don't think.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: I don't know if it's necessarily likely.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: But but you know, it's it's it's so layered. You know,
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: you've got the scout, then you've got the personnel guy
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: who makes the final decision. Then you've got the coach
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: who is now given these guys and expected to coach
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: them up. Then what kind of line do you have?
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: What kind of quo? You know, It's like it's it's layered.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: But then they're obvious misses like Nikhil Harry, guys who
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: high highly draft guys who did not only didn't make
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: it here, but couldn't make it anywhere else.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: System failure.
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: It's such a I feel like I get this question
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: a million times every offseason about what why do they
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: miss on wide receivers? And I it's so multi layered
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: because it's scouting, its development, it's the offensive system that
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: they're putting these guys in. Like, it's just there's so
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: many different angles to it. You know. I don't think
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: to Freend's point about Nikil here, like I don't think
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: all the receivers they drafted flat out can't play, Like
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: I wouldn't say that, like Jalen Polk has no talent,
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: Well he's the.
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: Next big test. Yeah, what's going on with Polk? Right?
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: But like you know, he had a tough rookie year.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: I think it was tough on him mentally as well
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: as as physically, and like, it just there's so much
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: that goes around with that. And yeah, it's not done
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: by by position, as as the guy said. It's there's
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: area scouts, and there's national scouts, and there's college scouting directors,
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: and then there's player to you know, personnel directors, and
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: then there's general managers and so like, there's a lot
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: of layers to it, but it's not they don't specifically
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: do it by position.
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: That way, Let's see who is this Dana Virginia in Michigan.
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: With the introduction of BTT banged the table, I foresee
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: a new and more efficient era of PU where everyone
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: speaks only in acronyms. This development is of course, hingin
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: to use Andy's word on everyone's ability to understand the acronyms.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: The following are acronyms, of which of which common PU phrases.
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: So it's a game ready, A T I T, especially
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: in the draft A.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: T I T.
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: And there it is, Oh that's a good one.
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: Uh w G O G exclamation we got this is
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: a tough one. W D T s K clue. It's
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: usually heard on a Thursday.
- 1:23:30Speaker 8: What are the sharp snow?
- 1:23:31Speaker 6: Yes?
- 1:23:32Speaker 12: Good, Alex and my friends speak an acronym acronyms, so
- 1:23:36Speaker 12: I might have a leg up here.
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: These are less acronyms, as they are more abbreviated, not
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: I mean not even abbreviations.
- 1:23:44Speaker 6: But anyway, t J acronym.
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: T j P t M. Because you can't, like to
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: me acronyms of things you can say like you can't say.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: T J P t M.
- 1:23:59Speaker 8: What's this reason? What's this last one?
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: T J P t M.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: T J.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: I'm not going to I'll give you a hand, Lawyer malloy.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: That's just poor to me. Oh that's just h d
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: m's clue. These aren't the d ms that you usually
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: slide into, but as Paul can attest, it's still good
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: to get into a few of these d ms. I
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: think Millers at Miller's.
- 1:24:28Speaker 6: There you go, good.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: A few more s N clue used in reference to
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: deuce sneakyative negative.
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: I was late to it, but I got there.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: Uh M, question mark mood.
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: That's good.
- 1:24:50Speaker 6: T I O y O T do it on your
- 1:24:56Speaker 6: own time exactly, Paul.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: G H G D P clue. It's another one usually
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: heard on Thursday.
- 1:25:07Speaker 6: What is it?
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: G g h g d P Gotta hurry, gotta gotta
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: do picts.
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: Yeah, two more. I A w O F T P.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: I A w O f t P clue. Sadly this
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: one isn't heard as often as it used to be.
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: I A w O F t P.
- 1:25:35Speaker 6: Have you something about the team being good?
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: Well?
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: Yeah, but sadly what what he?
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: What helps them be good?
- 1:25:42Speaker 6: It always works out for the pages?
- 1:25:45Speaker 8: Long?
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: Finally talking about long, This is a long, real long one.
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: This isn't really f F I H S W G
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: T t A B. Food is here, so we got
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: to take it.
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: So okay, good stuff, Dan, Yeah, good stuff?
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: All right? More emails coming in.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: You have like a Bible of Fred. You've been working
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: on something.
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: Somebody from Upstart sets a question for Evan. He wants
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: to know what are Evan's thoughts in the New Jersey
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: MIC's chicken salad sandwich that's gone viral on TikTok Okay,
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: the chicken salad.
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: The assumption that I know what has gone viral on
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: TikTok is a good one.
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: Just assumption I I don't.
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: I have not tried it yet. I'm not a big
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: chicken salad guy.
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: No, but why is it?
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: So?
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: Who knows why it went.
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: Are they talking about uh, the like the bowls because
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: that's gotten really popular?
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: Hell?
- 1:26:50Speaker 6: Can I heard about that? Yeah, like a chicken I wasn't.
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: Like a salad with chicken. Or are we talking about
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: like chicken salad?
- 1:26:58Speaker 8: Chicken salad?
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: Yeah, chicken.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: I didn't know that chicken salad.
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: But they're like, I need to know somebody needs now
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: who knows to email us or call in and tell
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: us why it's gone viral? Yeah?
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: Right, because I know the bulls have gotten very popular.
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: I've heard that they call them bowls, but they're really
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: just salads. But like instead of having like the sub
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: on bread, you can get it in the bowl to
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: save the calories because.
- 1:27:19Speaker 8: It's Do you guys know who Bethany Frinkle is? Yea
- 1:27:24Speaker 8: queen Bethany influencer? Actually, yeah, can she put me in touch?
- 1:27:28Speaker 8: Probably I would quit to just give her coffee all day.
- 1:27:33Speaker 8: I think she's awesome.
- 1:27:34Speaker 12: Anyways, she her thing is like reviewing chicken salad, so
- 1:27:39Speaker 12: maybe she went there or something. There's like she has
- 1:27:42Speaker 12: a couple of spots on the Hampton's that she's made famous.
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: The chicken chicken salad sandwich Therecott that was good.
- 1:27:49Speaker 6: One better than Willow Tree.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: Well that's in the grocery store. You buy willow Tree.
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: I want chicken salad, that's what you get.
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty good.
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: And that with the cramps, you just get the straight
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: if you want to great berry to do that.
- 1:28:03Speaker 6: What do we what do we about chicken salad in general?
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: Have it very often chicken salad?
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: I like tuna salad better.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I agreed.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Lobs your salads pretty good too.
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: Well, it's like, isn't it just like this is just mayonnaise, right,
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: like like yeah, and but why is it a salad?
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: Like there's no there's no veggies involved.
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: Salad?
- 1:28:33Speaker 8: Yea, the celar you can't.
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: But I don't like cellary.
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: You gotta have something that gives a little crunch, Yeah, crumbs.
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: And I are always in the same way of James.
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: I think like the youngs though the young.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: James, the most interesting Patriots fan in the world, says
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: no one is buying bibble heads of you idiots. On
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: the contrary, easy there.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: So I don't know what's a price point on that
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: on on a Paul bad I.

- 1:30:34Speaker 2: I didn't, Well, it was a very brief clip, but
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: I don't know what he was talking about.
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: This thing is a whopping sixteen inches.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Hey, now, I don't know. It sounds like a different
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: version of Teddy than I'm used to.
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: So no, he was a real good spokesman done I'm
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: used to like.
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: From my locker.
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: They looked, they looked legit.
- 1:30:54Speaker 8: Is it worth the investment?
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: So what is?
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: What are they based on your box?
- 1:30:57Speaker 7: Just the photo that you're saying that that's where Yeah,

- 1:31:12Speaker 4: a friend and just tell you what to do because
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: I'm just right. Ideally we would trade down a few
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: picks to get extra assets, but either way, the first
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: pick should be Jalen Walker, absolute beast and would be
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: a great pick for a long time. Next, we trade
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: back up into the back end of the first round
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: and take either Connery or Ursery to be our left tackle.
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: Later in the draft, we take receiver Jamry Dyke out
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: of Florida, Great size and speed DK. I think it's okay,
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: great size and speed on the outside to be our
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: eventual X or WR one, whichever term Paul likes best.
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: For the rest, I'll turn on Yahoo Auto Draft for
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: take the best player of anything.
- 1:31:54Speaker 5: DK is going to be a w R one.
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: Guess what he said.
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: I don't even know if he's going to get drafted, So.
- 1:32:01Speaker 6: Just because you play on the outside doesn't make you a.
- 1:32:05Speaker 5: W I think he is a priority free agent, okay
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: in most.
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: Let's see. Finally, I can't believe that nobody has asked Paul,
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: how fired you up? How fired up he is for
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: the new free agent additions. As in their welcoming press conference,
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: more than one of them uttered the phrase iron sharpens iron.
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: It must have got him as excited as Evan when
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: Campbell arms got remeasured at thirty three inches.
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: Nothing gets to me excited as.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: That is that a favorite of Pew in the past,
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: iron sharpens iron quote.
- 1:32:37Speaker 6: It's another blockhead Andy.
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: His iron sharpens iron and then we'd make fun of.
- 1:32:45Speaker 6: Hilarity in.
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: That's fair, Iggy in Spain rights then where you been? Iggy?
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: For some reason, the Giants want to trade down and
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: take Sanders the Patriots makes sense, what do we need
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: to get there and take one of the two blue chips?
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: Oh so if the Giant what so the Giants want
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: to trade down we wanted So basically it means the
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: Patriots want to trade up to get one of their guys,
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: and the Giants are willing to go to four because
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: they think Sanders will still be there.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: But why would the Patriots trade with the Giants to
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: do that?
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: Exactly, give us your pick so we can still draft
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: our guy in your slot.
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: Right, So the Giants, you know, we know I'm going
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: to trade down because I don't want that guy anyway,
- 1:33:32Speaker 6: and you do. But why would I trade with the Patriots?
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: Why would the patri you know, like they know I'm
- 1:33:38Speaker 6: going to take Sanders anyway?
- 1:33:39Speaker 4: But what if the Giants, well I'm just thinking for
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: his Iggy maybe, But what if the Giants say, we're
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: not going to take Sanders with our two, He's not
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: worth it. But if we can trick three. But if
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: we can trade down and get a little extra, then
- 1:33:52Speaker 4: we can.
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: Well, there's incentive for the Giants to trade down even
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: if they want Sanders. I get that. It may be
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: a roll of the dice, but I get that. But
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: if you only go down one spot to the Patriots,
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: why would you trade with the Patriots? Why would the
- 1:34:05Speaker 6: Patriots want to do that? I know you're not taking
- 1:34:07Speaker 6: Travis Hunter or Abdua Carter, whicheveryone is there because you
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: want Sanders.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: No, but maybe they say we're not going to take them.
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: We're not going to take Sanders unless we can get
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: more picks. So if they stay where they are, they're
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: not picking Sanders.
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: Right, So why would the pick I don't know why
- 1:34:23Speaker 6: you would give anything up for that because we want
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: to get like they don't want that guy. You're telling
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: me they don't want that guy, but they're going to
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: take them just because I want to. I want to
- 1:34:34Speaker 6: try to hold you up in the trade.
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: Well, no, I guess so number one, Well it's cam Ward.
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: Number two. Let's say Travis Hunter. So Abdul Carter is
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: sitting there. Patriots want them, the Giants will take Abdul
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: Carter unless someone's willing to trade that and we get
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: extra picks and then we'll pick Shador Sanders at four.
- 1:34:58Speaker 6: Sure, I just don't see it happens.
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: It's like just like I don't think that could happen either,
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: because like if you watch the door, Sanders.
- 1:35:05Speaker 6: Take, just take them, just take them, you know, Like
- 1:35:07Speaker 6: what do you like? Like what are you saying that
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: I don't want Sanders if it's just Sanders at three,
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: but if I can get Sanders at four in a
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: second round pick, I'll take them, right, Like, yeah, that's more.
- 1:35:18Speaker 6: But I just don't think that play right, And I
- 1:35:21Speaker 6: don't think that makes a lot of sense.
- 1:35:23Speaker 5: But it's the same thing, you know, in a more
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: realistic way, like with people that say, well, I wouldn't
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: take Will Campbell at four, but if they could trade
- 1:35:29Speaker 5: down to seven eight nine, I'd take Will Campbell at
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: seven eight nine, And like I get the thinking. But
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: it's also like if you if you're going to take
- 1:35:37Speaker 5: them anyways, and this is just.
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: One spot, like how much are you going to get right?
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: Right? Like you might not even be able to get
- 1:35:43Speaker 6: a second round pick to move down one spot. I
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: don't know.
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: I think all this quarterback talk is about the second round,
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: I really do. I think that the Giants, the Browns,
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: maybe the Steelers at twenty one. It starts the run
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: of the other non cam wardquarterbacks, but Chador Jackson, Dart,
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: Jalen Milroe. I think all of those quarterback needy teams
- 1:36:07Speaker 5: are all trying to position themselves at the end of
- 1:36:09Speaker 5: the first round early second round to draft one of
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: those guys.
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: So unlike the Patriots when they drafted Garoppolo in the
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: second round, if the Giants end up picking a quarterback
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: in the second round, do you think the expectations there
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: this guy better be a starter for us like soon.
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: I don't know if they think that he's going to
- 1:36:28Speaker 5: be like that. I think that they they want to
- 1:36:31Speaker 5: add a young, high upside player at that position, but
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: they want to have their cake and eat it too.
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: They want to draft Abdul Carter at three overall and
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: still add a quarterback that they feel like has starter
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: upside to the room, but they don't have to take
- 1:36:44Speaker 5: them at three. So I think the Giants are, you know,
- 1:36:47Speaker 5: they're going and uh working out Paul's boy, you know,
- 1:36:51Speaker 5: shook like they're going to add him to this mix too,
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: So it's gonna be Tyler Shuk, it's gonna be Jalen Milroe,
- 1:36:56Speaker 5: it's gonna be Jackson Dart like those are these quarterbacks,
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: and then the door will probably be the top one
- 1:37:01Speaker 5: out of that group. But all these teams are going
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: to try to do that thing, you know. I think
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: it's more probably closer to like what the Titans did
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: with Will Levis, right, like you draft the quarterback at
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: the top of the second round and hope that it's
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts or something along those lines. But I don't
- 1:37:17Speaker 5: That's what all the reporting is now, is that the
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: Giants are doing all this vetting of these quarterbacks to
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: take them at the top of the second round, not
- 1:37:23Speaker 5: to take them sight.
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: Yeah, and you get at least you get somebody in
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: the pipeline with potential. You know, I don't think that
- 1:37:31Speaker 6: you would say anything that you draft, you know, beyond
- 1:37:34Speaker 6: the first round is that that's our guy. We have
- 1:37:37Speaker 6: our guy now, we don't have to worry about that anymore.
- 1:37:39Speaker 6: But at least there's a chance, at least you're just
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: selling your fan base that this the guy that we
- 1:37:45Speaker 6: think we can work with and potentially could could develop
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: maybe he ends up being like, what was the year
- 1:37:50Speaker 6: that Dak Prescott drafted, like sixteen seventeen, So I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:37:54Speaker 6: well that was sort of the same. I mean, they
- 1:37:55Speaker 6: drafts up being a fourth round pick and ends up
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: being your guy.
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: And they drafted Zeke in the first round, so they
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: got they had they got the best of both worlds
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: where they got the best player in the first round
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: that they wanted, and then they also still got the quarterback.
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: You know, Kirk Cousins obviously wasn't the first round pick
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: Dak with the good Jalen Hurts.
- 1:38:13Speaker 6: Highly unlikely that it works out that way, but there
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: are a couple of examples of the Russell Wilsons, Dak
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: Prescott's Kirk Cousins where you can get a guy, you know,
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: beyond the first round that ends up being your franchise
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: quarterbacks spiin Fresno.
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: I know it's probably a goose chase to read into
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: Rabel's earlier comments this week, but he did seem notably cagey.
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: When answering the question of whether he'd pick a left
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: tackle at four. He did a hand wavy thing saying
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: he thinks there's a pickable left tackle talent in the draft,
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: seemingly discounting the idea that he's got his eye in
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: that position for the fourth pick. Is this something or
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: is it much ado about nothing.
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: I think that answer was interpreted to entirely different ways
- 1:38:53Speaker 6: by a lot of the you know, talk show guys.
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: Some people felt like he really didn't address the other
- 1:39:01Speaker 6: guys worthy of the fourth overall pick part of that.
- 1:39:04Speaker 6: It's kind of where I fell. I think he more said,
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: you know, I think they're starting. There's starting tackles in
- 1:39:09Speaker 6: this draft that will start. I think was the way
- 1:39:11Speaker 6: he started that answer, which is kind of a I
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: don't think he got specifically into yes, there's a guy
- 1:39:18Speaker 6: that I would I would think is worthy of the
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: fourth overall pick. Other people just sort of thought he
- 1:39:24Speaker 6: was saying in general that he likes the te you know,
- 1:39:27Speaker 6: there's some talented guys that can start in the league.
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: And you know that was pro Will Campbell. I didn't
- 1:39:34Speaker 6: really take it strongly one way or the other. I
- 1:39:36Speaker 6: don't know how you guys interpreted it, but I don't
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: know if you heard.
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: Any of this.
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: I just would ask Evan, I know my thoughts on it,
- 1:39:42Speaker 9: but like taking the Patriots out of it. How many
- 1:39:45Speaker 9: guys in this draft do you think will start at
- 1:39:46Speaker 9: left tackle.
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: Next year in the league.
- 1:39:49Speaker 6: In general, like starters in general. I don't know how fast.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean I think.
- 1:39:56Speaker 9: Why they were asking him though, is to try to
- 1:39:57Speaker 9: find it right, like right, because this is what they need.
- 1:39:59Speaker 9: They need right out of the gate. So I just
- 1:40:02Speaker 9: think reading between the lines, what Rabel said to me was, yeah,
- 1:40:06Speaker 9: they're starting as in the first round, Like, there are
- 1:40:08Speaker 9: a couple guys that could come.
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: In and start. So who's the guy from Oregon, the
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: left tackle Connorly? Is it true that he gave up
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: zero sacks last year?
- 1:40:18Speaker 5: It might be, but those college numbers I think are
- 1:40:21Speaker 5: a little bit flimsy because of the types of offenses, right,
- 1:40:25Speaker 5: they never get close. Yeah, they're running RPOs and things
- 1:40:27Speaker 5: like that. But I would just say that my interpretation
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: of the the answer was that he doesn't want to
- 1:40:34Speaker 5: give anything away. Like if he comes out and he says, yeah,
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: they're tackles, we take in four overall in the headline
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: is going to be Will Campbell, New England.
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: Patriot, Right, So, like I thought he was noncommittal.
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: I thought he was completely noncommittal. I thought it was
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: a pros pro press conference, Like, I don't think he
- 1:40:49Speaker 5: really gave us anything. I read back through the transcript
- 1:40:52Speaker 5: and I was like, Okay, yeah, as.
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: It should be if you're looking at it from the
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: team perspective. But there's press conferences are useless.
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: Sometimes we get a little bit more specifics about their
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: feelings on the class in general, right, you know, like
- 1:41:09Speaker 5: is it a good receiver class, is a good tackle class?
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: But what I thought the answer that was, I don't
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: have Have they.
- 1:41:14Speaker 4: Ever come right out and said no, but this class
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: really stinks?
- 1:41:18Speaker 5: No, no, no, but they would I have heard the opposite, right,
- 1:41:22Speaker 5: like they'll like what, what where, and they'll give you
- 1:41:25Speaker 5: two or three positions and then you can interpret from that.
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: Well, he can't say his position, you must not think
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: much of it.
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: Yeah, But I think with the tackle answer specifically he
- 1:41:34Speaker 5: did give We talked about this a little bit on
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: catch twenty two, Like he did give specifics of what
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: he looks for in the fourth overall player, regardless of position.
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: You actually, if you actually go read the transcript, which
- 1:41:47Speaker 5: with him, I feel like you actually have to go
- 1:41:49Speaker 5: and read the transcript because sometimes like he's all over
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: the place, a little bit and some of the answers,
- 1:41:53Speaker 5: so you have to you have to kind of put
- 1:41:56Speaker 5: it all together. But you know, he talked about premium position,
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: you know, high impact, immediate impact type of player, and
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: basically described a left tackle like would probably fit what
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: he said, you know, if they felt like that, that
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: was worthy of it. But the premium position thing did
- 1:42:14Speaker 5: stand out to me that he mentioned some wide receiver,
- 1:42:17Speaker 5: edge tackle, pass rusher. Yeah, in corner, I would say probably,
- 1:42:22Speaker 5: you know, most teams probably view those for you impacting
- 1:42:26Speaker 5: the passing game. You know, obviously quarterback two, but you
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: know guys that block pass rushers, guys that rushed the passer,
- 1:42:33Speaker 5: and guys that play on the perimeter in your receiver
- 1:42:35Speaker 5: in corner.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: So happy Thursday, says Ryan at Atlanta. With the recent
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: news of Abdul Carter potentially falling, I think the Patriots
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: would be wise to trade back with a team like
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: the Panthers or Bears and take a tackle at eight
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: or ten. Whether it's Campbell, Membo or Banks, one of
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: them should be there. The trade offers if the pan
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: if the Panthers offered number eight fifty seven and a
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: twenty two twenty six second for four. Would you do
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: that trade?
- 1:43:04Speaker 6: Say it again?
- 1:43:05Speaker 4: So we get the Panthers eight, We get their fifty
- 1:43:09Speaker 4: seventh in their twenty twenty six second round pick for
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: our fourth.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: Wires Carolina doing that, they're give them three picks and
- 1:43:16Speaker 6: they want two picks to move two picks to move
- 1:43:19Speaker 6: from eight.
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: To swap a pick this year and a pick next year.
- 1:43:22Speaker 6: Sounds like a lot to go four spots. But maybe
- 1:43:25Speaker 6: I would do it. Yeah, I would do it.
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: If the Bears offered their number ten forty one and
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: a twenty twenty six second for four, would you do
- 1:43:34Speaker 4: that trade? Oh, if you're going to do the first one,
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: you might do this.
- 1:43:37Speaker 6: You can get two picks to move down, say less
- 1:43:39Speaker 6: than ten spots.
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: I would.
- 1:43:42Speaker 6: I mean I would be because I think you have
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: a very good chance to get Will Campbell anyway.
- 1:43:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know if you have Jets though.
- 1:43:51Speaker 6: Maybe the Jets take Will Campbell.
- 1:43:52Speaker 5: I think the Jets are going to are probably a
- 1:43:54Speaker 5: Membu team because they drafted right so they'll play right tackle.
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: But I just why is Carolina and Chicago trading up
- 1:44:03Speaker 5: to four? Like, unless it's Abdul Carter that they're you know.
- 1:44:06Speaker 6: See, I would take Abdul Carter if he's available, right, Yeah,
- 1:44:09Speaker 6: so like you.
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: Know, that's the question though, Like if it's not Abdul Carter,
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: they're not trading up to four to draft Genty or
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: Will Campbell or Tyler Warren or whatever.
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: That's why I said, I'm not sure you're getting all
- 1:44:19Speaker 6: of that to write move down four spots because I
- 1:44:22Speaker 6: don't think there's a guy that's worthy of that. And
- 1:44:25Speaker 6: if it was, and if it was Campbell or Hunter,
- 1:44:27Speaker 6: I would just take those players.
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: Yep, me too.
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: Now the reporting is that New Orleans is not interested
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: in Shador in the top ten. Maybe that changes, but
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: like Carolina in Chicago, they're not trading up for a quarterback.
- 1:44:43Speaker 6: Nope.
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: So like they like those two teams I think are
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: out in terms of trading up. I don't think that
- 1:44:49Speaker 5: if the Jets were wanting to trade up for Judora,
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: if you're the Patriots, would you trade Shaudor to the Jets.
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: I guess that depends on if you think that he's
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: any good or not right. You'd have to make that
- 1:45:00Speaker 5: that judgment call. And then you know Vegas is also
- 1:45:03Speaker 5: not trading up for a quarterback.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: Adam Adam says the argument for trading up one spot
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: is to block another team from trading in front of
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: you and taking your guy. Maybe the Panthers want to trade,
- 1:45:14Speaker 4: want to come up for Carter, and the Giants takes
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: your door at eight. Patriots would trade up to three
- 1:45:19Speaker 4: to keep the Panthers from leap frogging them.
- 1:45:24Speaker 6: I know what, the dude, the argument is, I just
- 1:45:28Speaker 6: don't necessarily see the value of it to make you
- 1:45:31Speaker 6: want to give something up. Yep, yeah, I mean maybe
- 1:45:37Speaker 6: I don't know. Maybe I'm maybe I'm overlooking you. I
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: don't know.
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: Your head hurts spot so many scenarios, I think I
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: reached my end of scenarios.
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: Johnson san Diego on.
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: The Hotline, What's up, John san Diego, Hey, guys, second time,
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: long time.
- 1:45:55Speaker 4: I love the show.
- 1:45:56Speaker 20: I just had a one question for you in one
- 1:45:59Speaker 20: suggestion if you don't mind. First question is if we
- 1:46:03Speaker 20: underachieved this year, is there a scenario where you could
- 1:46:06Speaker 20: blame Elliott wolf in the personnel department or have they
- 1:46:10Speaker 20: already done enough in your mind that they were fine
- 1:46:13Speaker 20: it's just really up to coaching, or is there a
- 1:46:15Speaker 20: scenario where they could still be a part of the problem.
- 1:46:19Speaker 4: Well, listen, I think there's two parts to that. For me,
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: I really like what they did in free agency this year.
- 1:46:25Speaker 4: Now is that Elliott, is it Rabel or is it
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: both of them? And Rabel's influence now is different than
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: what Belichick's influence used to be or Gerrod Mayo.
- 1:46:36Speaker 6: So but I do like what they've done in free agency.
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: We'll see what they do in the draft.
- 1:46:40Speaker 6: You know, I do too. I just would be hard
- 1:46:42Speaker 6: pressed to identify what underachievement looks like.
- 1:46:45Speaker 9: Thanks John, And it's impossible to delineate who's responsible for
- 1:46:48Speaker 9: what We've been trying to do that with.
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: Past draft picks for years. Who gets blamed for Nikhil Harry?
- 1:46:53Speaker 9: Is it Bills the guy who has final say, or
- 1:46:56Speaker 9: is it the scouting staff that hide him up to
- 1:46:58Speaker 9: Bill or you know, and you're the same point now,
- 1:47:01Speaker 9: I just don't.
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: Know how to say whose fault it would be if
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: they under.
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: Now, if they get nothing out of Suites, and I
- 1:47:07Speaker 6: think it's kind of important to mention if they get
- 1:47:09Speaker 6: nothing out of last year's draft class again this year
- 1:47:13Speaker 6: and this year's draft class, that's not gonna speak well
- 1:47:17Speaker 6: of Elliott Wolf and those guys. And you had mentioned earlier, Mike,
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: you know, maybe a lot of these guys are here
- 1:47:23Speaker 6: through the draft. We'll see if there's any changes going forward.
- 1:47:26Speaker 6: But I agree with Fred. They made some moves and
- 1:47:30Speaker 6: free agency that on paper should make them better, But
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: I don't know how many wins that translates to. So
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: do you get production out of Milton Williams and Carlton
- 1:47:41Speaker 6: Davis and Harold Landry and Robert Splaine? Know those guys
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: good players? Is Morgan Moses? You know, plug and play
- 1:47:48Speaker 6: like I think, and solidifies the right side of your line.
- 1:47:51Speaker 6: Then that means you have good free agency even if
- 1:47:54Speaker 6: you don't win games. That's why I said, like, I
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: think it's what would underachievement look like, Like how many
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: games do you think that they should win? And we
- 1:48:03Speaker 6: can't say that now because they haven't even had a
- 1:48:05Speaker 6: draft yet, But do you think that they should win
- 1:48:09Speaker 6: ten games now because they made a handful of good signings.
- 1:48:12Speaker 6: I don't.
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: I just wonder, you know, to me, I think, I think.
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: I think process is important. And they've talked about some
- 1:48:20Speaker 5: of the missteps in the draft last year, reaching on
- 1:48:24Speaker 5: positions of need and maybe not necessarily anticipating some of
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: the runs on the board at certain positions where you're
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: left in a spot where you were at the end
- 1:48:33Speaker 5: of the line for tackle instead of at the beginning
- 1:48:35Speaker 5: of the line for the day two tackles. You know,
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: those sort of things. So like do they learn from
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: those mistakes and do they how do they, you know,
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: approach the draft this time around. That's different from what
- 1:48:46Speaker 5: it was last year. I think it's hard to say, oh,
- 1:48:50Speaker 5: this draft class didn't perform as rookie, so it's a
- 1:48:52Speaker 5: bad draft class.
- 1:48:53Speaker 6: Like I said, it's interesting to look at how they
- 1:48:57Speaker 6: performed this year.
- 1:48:58Speaker 5: Yeah, like I really subscribe to it takes two three
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: years to truly know what you have in a draft class.
- 1:49:02Speaker 5: So uh, if you I think it's processed over results,
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: where like you know, this year, if we get to
- 1:49:08Speaker 5: draft weekend next weekend and we're sitting there in the
- 1:49:11Speaker 5: third round and they still haven't drafted to tackle because
- 1:49:14Speaker 5: they didn't draft one at four, and then they couldn't
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: trade up from thirty eight to draft your Ursery or Connery.
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: So those guys go before they get to thirty eight
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: and they're stuck again, you know, drafting another flyer in
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: the third or fourth round to maybe switch a guy
- 1:49:28Speaker 5: from right to left tackle to play left tackle like
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: that sort of thing. Then I'm gonna say, well, this
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: is you know, you're doing the same thing again, right,
- 1:49:35Speaker 5: you got caught again. So I'm looking to see them
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: learn more how to play the board than necessarily like
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: as they're scouting improved, because I think the scouting is
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: going to be the same, like it's it's gonna be,
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: you know, the guys that that they are gonna target
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: isn't gonna change too much.
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: Question for fred says Uri he's in Brazil coming out
- 1:49:55Speaker 4: of draft. Who did you prefer Drake or Sunshine? If
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: by sunshine he means a treble Lawrence Lawrence Listen, honestly,
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: Trevor Lawrence coming out of the draft. Absolutely, I'm not
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: gonna lie.
- 1:50:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I love Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:50:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I think everybody would have taken Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:50:12Speaker 4: I don't think that's just you. Yeah, I mean I
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: can't think of since that draft a quarterback that I
- 1:50:16Speaker 4: thought would be better. I don't know who. I wouldn't
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: have put Caleb Williams over Lawrence.
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: No, I probably would have, but that's strictly talent. Like
- 1:50:29Speaker 6: there's a lot that goes into it. And you know
- 1:50:31Speaker 6: that's the reasons why Caleb Williams has his detractors.
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: Yep, yeah, you know. But yeah, No, I love Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: I you know, he went to a crappy team, and
- 1:50:42Speaker 4: I think it's stunted his growth.
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: How many games lost?
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: One overall quarterback usually goes to a crappy team. That's
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: the problem.
- 1:50:53Speaker 6: Went to a crappy team and he's pretty good. Now
- 1:50:56Speaker 6: they're not a crappy team anymore.
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: Oh no, Paul, they already had their team.
- 1:51:00Speaker 6: No, I'm well aware of its.
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: Josh and Turner's fall. You all right, Alex, I haven't
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: heard from you.
- 1:51:07Speaker 8: While I get lie, I could use more caffeine.
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: You seem to be.
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: The second Starbucks that would have been.
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: I know I should have had him do it. It
- 1:51:15Speaker 8: was jittery though.
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: Have him get yourself.
- 1:51:18Speaker 8: No, I can't do the You don't have to drink
- 1:51:21Speaker 8: the whole thing. I know, but the celsiest.
- 1:51:27Speaker 11: Celsius and coffee.
- 1:51:28Speaker 8: It's like, that's what I imagine cocaine would feel like.
- 1:51:30Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, just like you haven't done it.
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: Let's see, Josh says. The thought is uh he said
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: the subject line is Sanders at four? Sanders, The thought
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: is Jacksonville or somebody might move to three to get Carter.
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: So they offer the trade to the Patriots because Sanders
- 1:51:52Speaker 4: isn't going at four unless the Patriots trade out to somebody.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: And chicken salad with crunchy red grape celery and yellow
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: curry is the best with oat nut bread or black pepper.
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: Trusk gets, Oh.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: Wow, what's what's going on there?
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: Too? Return? Yeah, I guess I just don't feel strongly
- 1:52:07Speaker 6: enough to give up assets to move up to get somebody.
- 1:52:11Speaker 9: Mean, maybe that's how I feel. I don't know, that's
- 1:52:13Speaker 9: where I've landed to. I still have a little bit
- 1:52:16Speaker 9: of hope that maybe they get a shot at Carter.
- 1:52:18Speaker 9: But if it's gonna end up being well Campbell or Membo,
- 1:52:22Speaker 9: you can't fault them. I mean, Evan laid it all out.
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: You get to that point.
- 1:52:26Speaker 9: There's a certain point in the second round where I
- 1:52:27Speaker 9: guess what, there's no potential starting left tackles for twenty
- 1:52:30Speaker 9: twenty four or twenty.
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: Twenty five on that draft left. So you have to
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: be conscious of that. And that to me is at
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: this point, if you come.
- 1:52:38Speaker 9: Out of this draft without feeling there's at least a
- 1:52:41Speaker 9: guy to take a chance on, which, let's face it,
- 1:52:43Speaker 9: there's maybe four or five guys in this draft that
- 1:52:45Speaker 9: are all going to be gone by that thirty eighth pick.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: Then I think that's a huge, huge, huge mistake.
- 1:52:51Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's six tackles to me in the draft
- 1:52:53Speaker 5: that have rookie starter potential and then Josh Simmons is
- 1:52:58Speaker 5: one of them, and that's depending on his health and
- 1:53:00Speaker 5: if he's healthy, and all the six of those guys
- 1:53:02Speaker 5: I would expect to go in the top thirty two picks.
- 1:53:06Speaker 5: So if you don't take one at four, I mean,
- 1:53:08Speaker 5: maybe you get lucky that Ursery falls. But if Simmons falls,
- 1:53:11Speaker 5: it's because of the knee. Like, if he falls, it's
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: because there's an injury issue. So now you're you're drafting
- 1:53:17Speaker 5: a player that's not going to play. But outside of him,
- 1:53:20Speaker 5: you know, Ursery might fall to thirty eight maybe, but
- 1:53:24Speaker 5: after that run is over, like now you're talking about
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: true developmental guys or guys that were really truly you know,
- 1:53:31Speaker 5: right tackles. Ozzie Trapelo is a right.
- 1:53:32Speaker 6: But everybody likes Ravens, right, Yeah, Yeah, I mean, what
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: do you think if if let's just say, for arguments
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: that he's not going to be ready, yeah, physically to
- 1:53:43Speaker 6: start right away, would you be opposed to taking him
- 1:53:45Speaker 6: in the second round?
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: I think so, because I think they're their rookies need
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: to play and not not necessarily start, like they don't
- 1:53:51Speaker 5: have to be all high impact contributors. But I think
- 1:53:54Speaker 5: they're they're in a position where they need to develop
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: young players on their roster.
- 1:53:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I could see I could see an argument for
- 1:54:01Speaker 6: that though, if they thought he was good enough. You know,
- 1:54:04Speaker 6: maybe he's not ready to play at the beginning of
- 1:54:05Speaker 6: the year, but maybe you know, at some point during
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: the season he can he can get his feet wet, Like,
- 1:54:09Speaker 6: is it that important that he has to start right away? However,
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: if the doctors, i mean the left tackle that they draft,
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: if the doctors say.
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: That there's not a big concern of long term issues
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: because that injury there.
- 1:54:21Speaker 6: Can't be shown Michelle, where they're telling you before you
- 1:54:24Speaker 6: draft him, it's going to be a short shelfy.
- 1:54:25Speaker 5: Yeah, because I think the only thing was Simmons that
- 1:54:27Speaker 5: anybody has any concern about in terms of his tape
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: is he's not the strongest guy, Like he's not a
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: big people mover in the run game, and he had
- 1:54:38Speaker 5: a very small sample size of like first round tape
- 1:54:41Speaker 5: last year before he got hurt. It's like five and
- 1:54:44Speaker 5: a half games of really good left tackle. Uh So
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: you're kind of taking a little bit of a risk
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: on a on a five and a half game sample
- 1:54:51Speaker 5: against lesser competition than really a half of against Oregon
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: is like really the best competition that he faced.
- 1:54:59Speaker 9: I think to your point, Paul, there's people out there
- 1:55:00Speaker 9: that believe he might be the best left tackle in
- 1:55:02Speaker 9: his class.
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: So if you are pitching, we just have to be patient.
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: But we feel like this is the right guy for
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: this team and in the long term.
- 1:55:07Speaker 9: He's going to be our guy. You know, maybe you'd
- 1:55:10Speaker 9: feel better about that than that they're saying. We really
- 1:55:12Speaker 9: like Will Campbell, but there's we don't believe in him
- 1:55:15Speaker 9: as strongly as our left tackle for sure for the
- 1:55:17Speaker 9: next ten years, where we're gonna have to wait a
- 1:55:18Speaker 9: little bit on Simmons.
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: But we think we can get back. He's the questions
- 1:55:21Speaker 6: and how many questions that you have that you are
- 1:55:24Speaker 6: comfortable with the answers, And I think you could make
- 1:55:27Speaker 6: an argument that there's questions on Will Campbell. There's questions
- 1:55:30Speaker 6: on Simmons. So if you want to say, well, I
- 1:55:33Speaker 6: think Simmons might be a better player again, Evans right,
- 1:55:36Speaker 6: you have to clearimtically if there's any you know, lingering
- 1:55:41Speaker 6: Malcolm Mitchell or Sony Michelle like this. We know this
- 1:55:44Speaker 6: guy has talent, but there's an issue here and it's
- 1:55:47Speaker 6: not just going to magically, you know, fix itself. Then
- 1:55:50Speaker 6: you can't. You can't do that. You can't put your
- 1:55:52Speaker 6: eggs in that basket knowing that he might not be
- 1:55:55Speaker 6: around physically. But if you're comfortable with the medicals.
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: So Dominic easily wasn't a good even if.
- 1:56:00Speaker 6: He can't, even if he can't start right away, I
- 1:56:03Speaker 6: don't think that would be enough to dissuade me if
- 1:56:05Speaker 6: I thought he was good and I thought he will
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: be okay, once he's one hundred percent, he's going to
- 1:56:10Speaker 6: be okay.
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:56:12Speaker 9: It's a little bit some of the conversation about the
- 1:56:14Speaker 9: running backs where it's like only certain teams can take
- 1:56:16Speaker 9: chances on guys that have injury concerns, and only certain
- 1:56:19Speaker 9: teams that are at the point where they can take
- 1:56:20Speaker 9: a chance on a running back.
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: You know, there's like a certain team makeup to me.
- 1:56:24Speaker 5: That would be my rebuttal would be, are the Patriots
- 1:56:27Speaker 5: in a team that can take on that risk? Right,
- 1:56:30Speaker 5: Like you know, if you're the Eagles or you're the Chiefs.
- 1:56:32Speaker 6: Or you know, I'm not interested. Like what Fred just said, Gronk,
- 1:56:35Speaker 6: the Patriots could not take Gronk in the second right, right,
- 1:56:38Speaker 6: and he might be Bronk right, And if that's the case,
- 1:56:41Speaker 6: then I'm out.
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: Yeah. And you know, you look at something that Verybele
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: did say earlier in the week. Somebody asked him about
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: the lessons that he learned in Tennessee. And one of
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: the things they did in Tennessee was take some risk
- 1:56:52Speaker 5: on injury players. You know, Caleb Fairley was the big one,
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: a corner that they drafted in the top twenty that
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: had back in issues in college and it didn't work out.
- 1:57:04Speaker 5: And he did say, like we were, we've learned that
- 1:57:07Speaker 5: you have to be careful about taking injured players.
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: Brad's in Ohio on the hotline. What's up, Brad? He was,
- 1:57:14Speaker 4: could I hit I must have hit the wrong button?
- 1:57:16Speaker 6: Maybe, did you?
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: I don't know. I thought I had it hovering on
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: the one on the left, but Okay, sorry, Brad.
- 1:57:24Speaker 6: It's funny. I haven't really given that whole scenario a
- 1:57:26Speaker 6: whole lot of thought to the Simmons part. I've been
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: it's more like Ursery or Connor Lee and those guys
- 1:57:33Speaker 6: down there. I haven't really given much thought.
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 1:57:35Speaker 9: I mean, for what it's worth, probably nothing. I didn't
- 1:57:37Speaker 9: put Simmons on my list of big guys.
- 1:57:40Speaker 6: Well, then forget it.
- 1:57:41Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a fun player, Like it's it's a fun
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: thought of like if he had played the way he
- 1:57:47Speaker 5: did for the first five games all the way through
- 1:57:50Speaker 5: the college Football playoff, then we would be talking about
- 1:57:53Speaker 5: him as the fourth overall pick, like we would be
- 1:57:55Speaker 5: saying that they should take him at four if he
- 1:57:58Speaker 5: was healthy the entire season. But yeah, but that's not
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: the one.
- 1:58:00Speaker 6: I guess my question would just be a complete, utter hypothetical.
- 1:58:05Speaker 6: He is okay, but he's not going to be ready
- 1:58:08Speaker 6: physically at the start of the season. That wouldn't dissuade
- 1:58:10Speaker 6: me from taking them.
- 1:58:13Speaker 4: What if they take Campbell at four and they get
- 1:58:16Speaker 4: to thirty eight or whenever it is, and Simmons is
- 1:58:19Speaker 4: still there, I.
- 1:58:21Speaker 5: Would say, if he's still there at thirty eight, it's
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: because there's a chronic issue with his d okay, Like I.
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: Think he's think that's a sign that okay.
- 1:58:28Speaker 5: Because he's the first round talent. So if he's still
- 1:58:30Speaker 5: there at thirty eight, that means that teams have medical
- 1:58:33Speaker 5: red flags.
- 1:58:33Speaker 6: Then you can use your whole well in twenty six,
- 1:58:37Speaker 6: Simmons is my left tackle and Campbell's my left guard
- 1:58:40Speaker 6: right right with stacked how sad bro set it line
- 1:58:44Speaker 6: and then we how do you.
- 1:58:45Speaker 4: Like our line now for Ashton Genty? And we're all
- 1:58:48Speaker 4: set it always with a trade for it always comes
- 1:58:52Speaker 4: back to Ashton Genty.
- 1:58:53Speaker 5: Fix the team we did?
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: All right, that's going to be it for this edition
- 1:58:57Speaker 4: of Patriots Unfiltered. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
- 1:59:00Speaker 4: We're one week away from the draft, so next week's
