  SPEAKER_01: It's an almost impossible question to answer because there are so many attributes of God I adore.

  SPEAKER_01: But if I'm pressed to pick just one, it would be Emmanuel, God with us.

  SPEAKER_01: And that one simple name is the depth that is beyond our comprehension.

  SPEAKER_01: A mixture of majesty and intimacy that is unmatched.

  SPEAKER_01: The majesty of Emmanuel is described this way in John 1, 1 through 5.

  SPEAKER_01: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

  SPEAKER_01: He was with God in the beginning.

  SPEAKER_01: Through him, all things were made.

  SPEAKER_01: Without him, nothing was made that has been made.

  SPEAKER_01: In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

  SPEAKER_01: The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

  SPEAKER_01: All that majesty chose to become intimately acquainted with us by humbling himself into the confines of a human body so that he could dwell among us and show us the grace and truth of who the Father is.

  SPEAKER_01: Scripture records that he was hungry, thirsty, tired.

  SPEAKER_01: Jesus experienced every emotion that we have had, great joy and also great sorrow.

  SPEAKER_01: Jesus could have miraculously appeared on the earth in any way he chose.

  SPEAKER_01: But he chose to fully know our human experience.

  SPEAKER_01: Why?

  SPEAKER_01: So that we might know God fully.

  SPEAKER_01: This is the gift of Christmas.

  SPEAKER_01: His life, everything he did and said, was designed to speak of the Father's extravagant love and heart for his people.

  SPEAKER_01: You may often wish that you could have met Jesus when he walked this earth.

  SPEAKER_01: How amazing would that have been to look into his eyes and see him smile at you?

  SPEAKER_01: While we may not have that privilege, Jesus is still Emmanuel.

  SPEAKER_01: Regardless of what this Christmas brings you, whether it is a sorrow or joy, Jesus knows.

  SPEAKER_01: He is still the active expression of the extravagant love that God your Father has for you.
