- 2:01Speaker 3: Yes, oh my gosh, that's why I didn't know he
- 2:03Speaker 3: was like a.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Full time host.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Tatiana King just learned about this, you know. I
- 2:09Speaker 2: feel like a lot of people just learned that Mark
- 2:12Speaker 2: became a full time host.
- 2:13Speaker 1: As I told Tatiana during the flat Earth Week.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that was ridiculous, which you also.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Did not really know about, And I knew about it.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I didn't really I didn't put tune two together that
- 2:24Speaker 3: he was part of that.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yes, So I just did.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Not because once I heard what it was and I
- 2:29Speaker 3: listened to maybe five minutes, I said, absolutely not. Oh yeah,
- 2:32Speaker 3: am I doing this with with these niggas?
- 2:35Speaker 2: No, well as someone who I personally have had to
- 2:38Speaker 2: deal with friends who are flat Earth supporters believers.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I don't I don't know, I don't know what the
- 2:45Speaker 1: word is exactly for them.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I applaud mister hill Mark for holding his ground, for
- 2:51Speaker 2: maintaining his calm, cool, collect itself while distressing this with
- 2:55Speaker 2: these people who It's quite difficult, honestly to distressed with
- 3:00Speaker 2: people because like when people do not believe in accepting science,
- 3:05Speaker 2: it's hard to you know, like because like like in
- 3:08Speaker 2: the classic jaz you know, men live, women line numbers
- 3:11Speaker 2: don't lie. But when people believe that the numbers are lying,
- 3:15Speaker 2: it becomes really hard to deal with them. Man, And
- 3:18Speaker 2: I've experienced with not just for flat earthers, but which
- 3:22Speaker 2: is a lot of lately, you know, ignorance in the world.
- 3:25Speaker 2: You know, like I know you saw the shit about
- 3:27Speaker 2: Harriet Tubman not existing.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yes, I've heard it all, and I'm just tired of
- 3:33Speaker 3: giving life to any of this shit. Same reason why
- 3:36Speaker 3: I can't do the flat Earth conversations with nobody if
- 3:38Speaker 3: we don't even agree on the basic premise that one
- 3:41Speaker 3: pust one equals too, then what are we talking about?
- 3:44Speaker 2: But see, the thing is like this is my thing,
- 3:46Speaker 2: Like how do we like? I I waive for on
- 3:50Speaker 2: the subject right because sometimes I feel like we need
- 3:53Speaker 2: to reach these people and sometimes I feel like they're
- 3:56Speaker 2: the people to Harriet Tubman with a shot.
- 3:58Speaker 3: That's my point. What Harry it did and did? And
- 4:02Speaker 3: I follow the same suits that don't y'all don't need
- 4:06Speaker 3: to be saved.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Y'all got it? See you at the end, my nigga,
- 4:10Speaker 4: because you ain't making it.
- 4:13Speaker 2: But like I said, so many people, so many people
- 4:17Speaker 2: are my friends, and I've been trying to figure out, yo.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Bro, like are they acquaintances and people you know? I
- 4:26Speaker 3: think you might want to define the role of friend
- 4:29Speaker 3: in your life because I don't know. I don't know
- 4:32Speaker 3: if I would classify that as a friend. Perhaps the
- 4:35Speaker 3: person you know, perhaps a colleague, perhaps even a comrade
- 4:39Speaker 3: at some point, but a friend, I don't know.
- 4:43Speaker 1: God damn.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I mean, these are all very wise words, folks. You
- 4:48Speaker 2: know we might need to tip what you just said.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like, even if you've known someone for
- 4:53Speaker 2: a long time, which I have for these people. They're
- 5:00Speaker 2: and comrades, like I would call you my friend, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 2: my sister. Obviously, I would call people like Mellow, you
- 5:09Speaker 2: know my friend and brother.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I would call Luna, I would call I would
- 5:13Speaker 3: call Joel my friend.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Like.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Those are people I trust and have a conversation with
- 5:19Speaker 3: and know that we may not have everything. But one
- 5:21Speaker 3: post money goes too. That's that I think it takes.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I think people have to stop letting shit slide, and
- 5:28Speaker 3: stop letting these flat earther niggas and randoms like that
- 5:32Speaker 3: drag this shit. Like the moment they start saying one
- 5:37Speaker 3: post one is three, you need to go. Thank you
- 5:39Speaker 3: for your service. You're now relegated to someone I know.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I'm telling you this is not in your ministry to
- 5:45Speaker 3: allow these people to be in your circumforts. Is they're
- 5:48Speaker 3: going to completely rot your brain with all the nonsense
- 5:52Speaker 3: that you have to think about and all the mental
- 5:53Speaker 3: gymnastics you have to go through to communicate with them.
- 5:59Speaker 4: And two it's just gonna make you. It's just gonna make.
- 6:01Speaker 3: You upset as a person.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I don't want to be upset, Like I remember, like
- 6:05Speaker 2: and you know who I'm talking about, you know, this
- 6:07Speaker 2: a certain influencer we both talked about before and their ignorance,
- 6:11Speaker 2: you know, and how we weren't going to have them
- 6:13Speaker 2: on this show because we didn't want to spread their ignorance.
- 6:16Speaker 2: But I was also at one point wanting to, I
- 6:20Speaker 2: don't know, not debate them, because when I actually did
- 6:22Speaker 2: speak to.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Them, I realized, oh my god, there was no debating.
- 6:25Speaker 2: No, it's no debating stupidity. You know, I can't debate
- 6:28Speaker 2: somebody who is, you know, like not educated.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You know, I can't.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I guess this is a perfect segue, Like I had
- 6:37Speaker 2: a well, I don't want to talk about that just yet,
- 6:40Speaker 2: so I won't segue it here just yet. So No,
- 6:43Speaker 2: but talking to this person, I realized that it wasn't
- 6:46Speaker 2: worth having them on the show because even though they
- 6:48Speaker 2: are a nerd and a blurd, you know, it's just
- 6:51Speaker 2: they have such diametrically opposed views, and I do not
- 6:56Speaker 2: believe that their views may have any logic behind them.
- 7:00Speaker 1: That's the thing, Like I always like, I've.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Been talking to someone who I can say is a friend, right,
- 7:06Speaker 2: another person who is I could say as a friend,
- 7:08Speaker 2: And we've been having a discussion and a disagreement over
- 7:11Speaker 2: the idea of all cops are bastards. And it was
- 7:14Speaker 2: funny today I shook a police officer's sayd. I was like,
- 7:16Speaker 2: this man probably seems like a nice drive, but you're
- 7:19Speaker 2: still a bastard.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You know.
- 7:20Speaker 2: It's like unfortunately, you know, like sorry, Braudy, you put
- 7:24Speaker 2: on the uniform.
- 7:25Speaker 3: You know, things could be true.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Two things can be true.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And that was the thing about, you know, the discression
- 7:30Speaker 2: I was having my friend. We were going back and
- 7:33Speaker 2: forth with this and while I was presenting numbers and
- 7:36Speaker 2: he was like, well, I don't believe these numbers. At
- 7:39Speaker 2: least he wanted to see, you know, debate the numbers.
- 7:43Speaker 2: He didn't want to add like the numbers didn't exist,
- 7:46Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 7:47Speaker 4: There's certain things that are irrefutable facts.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yes, And.
- 7:54Speaker 3: It's not an opinion, it's it's not even open to
- 7:58Speaker 3: I don't believe. And that's where you lose me. You
- 8:01Speaker 3: lose me. If we are debating on something that is irrefutable,
- 8:06Speaker 3: you're not even debating. You're telling me your opinion that, well,
- 8:08Speaker 3: I don't believe in it. Then this is not an
- 8:10Speaker 3: opinion of logic. This is not an opinion. This is
- 8:12Speaker 3: not a conversation of logic. It's not a conversation of facts.
- 8:15Speaker 3: This is a conversation of you just coming out with
- 8:19Speaker 3: anything out your ass and telling me why you don't
- 8:22Speaker 3: believe in it.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Like it's not like it. I can't have a conversation
- 8:26Speaker 4: like that.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Yeah, no, there's no way. Now. So you're saying this
- 8:29Speaker 1: about you know, flatter if not versus.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I'm saying this about niggas that don't believe that one
- 8:34Speaker 3: pluson was two.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I'm talking about people.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Who debate very proven common thing you mentioned at the top.
- 8:41Speaker 3: You said science, So it could be flattering, it could
- 8:44Speaker 3: be anybody.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It could be any.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Topic where it's just like bruh, it's not it's not really.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Up for debate.
- 8:49Speaker 1: But the ACA B I won't.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 8:52Speaker 4: That's an opinion.
- 8:53Speaker 1: That's an opinion.
- 8:54Speaker 4: That's that's fine.
- 8:55Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 8:55Speaker 4: And again, I'm not talking about having people.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I have friends where I have come vastly difference of
- 9:00Speaker 3: opinions and right.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I have friends who are cops, but.
- 9:02Speaker 3: None of them say the Earth is flat. That's what
- 9:06Speaker 3: That is the distinction that I am making.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Damn man, I know I know some negroes. Then who.
- 9:13Speaker 4: People.
- 9:13Speaker 3: You know, Oh, I fuck with him on Tuesday when
- 9:18Speaker 3: we go to the club together. That's it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: This is also pretty true, sadly, you know. And I
- 9:25Speaker 1: don't have to worry about it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I don't think they'll ever listened to this episode to know,
- 9:29Speaker 2: because my friends listen to this show.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Oh, welcome to the four as.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, I think.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it was last week, you know we were distressing
- 9:47Speaker 2: Mission Impossible. Yes, the final reckoning. And I've seen it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Tatiana had not seen it yet. You have now seen it.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I have now seen it.
- 9:56Speaker 2: In the time that you went and saw it, I
- 9:58Speaker 2: went and watched three, four, five and six somethink. Yeah,
- 10:05Speaker 2: So I'm like Mission Impossible down right now.
- 10:08Speaker 1: So let's talk about it. How did you feel about it?
- 10:12Speaker 1: And why? And it'ble Why isn't the worst one in
- 10:15Speaker 1: the series?
- 10:15Speaker 4: Why is the worst one?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Okay? Why it isn't? And I think it is?
- 10:20Speaker 3: Well, I don't disagree with you. However, do you want?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Do you want?
- 10:25Speaker 3: But before I get there, I want to give you
- 10:27Speaker 3: my response to what the movie?
- 10:29Speaker 4: How I feel about the movie? You want the good
- 10:31Speaker 4: or the bad?
- 10:32Speaker 3: First?
- 10:32Speaker 1: I want the good first.
- 10:34Speaker 4: First.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I'll ask you and I'm gonna do what I want
- 10:36Speaker 3: to do. I'm gonna do the bad the bad. It
- 10:38Speaker 3: was much too long. It was much, much, much too long.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Niggas could have cut out a whole hour and some
- 10:46Speaker 3: change and it would have been fun easily, Like.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Niggas, stop fucking talking, please.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Flash back?
- 10:56Speaker 3: Uh point that I think was on the bad side
- 11:01Speaker 3: of the equation. Some of the cinematic directorial choices was
- 11:08Speaker 3: maybe unintentionally hilarious, and I'm like, yeah, on the ground.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So he he was like, you spent too much talk
- 11:19Speaker 2: on the internet.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Well that no, that's just typical popcorny. So that's not
- 11:24Speaker 3: what I'm talking about. I'm talking about, like I said,
- 11:27Speaker 3: certain cinematic slash directorial choices for a Hanflo there is
- 11:32Speaker 3: a scene where they're doing a flashback because it's a
- 11:36Speaker 3: it's an old character from like the first movie. I
- 11:38Speaker 3: think it is the first movie.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Thats God.
- 11:40Speaker 3: They're doing a flashback about the scene that he's in
- 11:43Speaker 3: in the first movie. And then one that scene is over,
- 11:46Speaker 3: they literally do like a Looney Tunes like circle cut
- 11:50Speaker 3: out back to Pryer and IM and I busted out laughing.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I said, who's idea was that?
- 11:59Speaker 4: And that and that, and.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Again, I think it's the only time of movie they
- 12:02Speaker 3: even used that effect. I don't even know what it's
- 12:03Speaker 3: called CinemaScope. I don't fucking know. Yeah, but they used
- 12:07Speaker 3: that effect. And then there's other points where they use
- 12:09Speaker 3: these strange transitions where I'm like, is this a power
- 12:12Speaker 3: point or is this a feature film?
- 12:16Speaker 4: And I couldn't tell.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Rewatching the old ones, there's a lot of but they
- 12:20Speaker 2: were pretty fire, but there's interesting transitions.
- 12:23Speaker 1: It was again of them.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Yeah, So honestly, that's where my quote bad stuff ends,
- 12:31Speaker 3: the good for me, for me, the good that I mean.
- 12:36Speaker 4: I'm sorry to tell you. I thought it was lit.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I thought the film generally speaking, besides all the other bullshit,
- 12:44Speaker 3: I think I thought it was lit. I thought they
- 12:48Speaker 3: went crazy on the action scenes, which is the main
- 12:53Speaker 3: It was more than that, but it was the It
- 12:55Speaker 3: was the main reason. Maybe only two you fucked with,
- 12:58Speaker 3: but there was more than two.
- 12:59Speaker 1: See.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Yeah, the way the movie was was constructed was crazy
- 13:04Speaker 3: action scene, dumb long talking, dumb law, some weird transition
- 13:09Speaker 3: about the past, Tom Cruise running, and an action scene.
- 13:13Speaker 3: And it repeated that over and again.
- 13:15Speaker 4: There was maybe four maybe.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Five, but there was at least four action scenes.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's like four. There's kicking on the ground,
- 13:24Speaker 2: there's the underwater submarine crazy.
- 13:26Speaker 4: There's the submarine.
- 13:27Speaker 2: There's there's the planes. The planes is you know, one
- 13:29Speaker 2: of the greatest things ever put the film.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah, there's there's there's also something. Yeah, like there's a
- 13:36Speaker 3: there's a car chase. There's there's this a whole bunch
- 13:38Speaker 3: of stuff car chase. There's a car chase. And then
- 13:40Speaker 3: there's what I did like about it is they have
- 13:42Speaker 3: a lot of scenes where it's like everybody and the
- 13:45Speaker 3: team is doing something like somebody's fighting this nig over here,
- 13:49Speaker 3: and someone's trying to break out the jail over here,
- 13:51Speaker 3: and another person trying to defuse a bomb over there,
- 13:53Speaker 3: and it's just like, which I did fuck with like
- 13:55Speaker 3: they because it shows that no matter where they are
- 13:59Speaker 3: in the world, where they are in the mission, they're
- 14:02Speaker 3: all still working as a team and they and the
- 14:04Speaker 3: way that they shot at was was actually really smart
- 14:07Speaker 3: and fun. The way they shot it, Like there will
- 14:09Speaker 3: be a scene, for example, where Tom may go like
- 14:11Speaker 3: he may be throwing his arm to give somebody a punch,
- 14:14Speaker 3: and then the camera pulls back and as one of
- 14:16Speaker 3: the girls like punching a bad guy, you know, on
- 14:20Speaker 3: the other side of the of the room, and then
- 14:23Speaker 3: like you know, something falling out the sky, and it
- 14:26Speaker 3: switches over to someone on the other side of the world,
- 14:29Speaker 3: like you know, catching something, you know what I mean.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Like, but they all part of a team, they all
- 14:32Speaker 4: doing shit like that. Shit was fire to me.
- 14:35Speaker 3: And as mentioned, the actressies were incredible. That's why the
- 14:40Speaker 3: fuck I came. I didn't really give a damn about
- 14:42Speaker 3: the exposition. The story doesn't fucking matter, and I hope
- 14:45Speaker 3: people understand that, and at least that's why I go.
- 14:47Speaker 4: To the lotionem possible the story.
- 14:48Speaker 3: When I say the story don't matter, like, there's always
- 14:50Speaker 3: a premise of were trying to get this thing right.
- 14:53Speaker 3: We're trying to get this mcguffin or whatever you want
- 14:55Speaker 3: to call it. We're trying to get this rabbit's foot,
- 14:57Speaker 3: We're trying to get this bag of money, We're trying
- 15:00Speaker 3: to get this bomb, whatever it is. That's always the
- 15:04Speaker 3: end goal at the end of the day is Okay, Well,
- 15:07Speaker 3: what's all the stupid crazy action shit that they do. Yes,
- 15:10Speaker 3: And they fulfill that for me, which is why I
- 15:12Speaker 3: felt that this shit was lit.
- 15:14Speaker 4: That being said, wasn't the worst out of the series.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yes see, that's what I'm saying, and that like and that's.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Still fun or me, it was still very much fun.
- 15:25Speaker 3: And I say worse out of the series. And I
- 15:27Speaker 3: had to personally been I say that loosely because this series, yes,
- 15:32Speaker 3: it jumped the shark years ago, but it had been
- 15:36Speaker 3: typically lots of quote, corny things happening, corny dialogue, corny choices,
- 15:41Speaker 3: and it's just that, I don't know, we just never
- 15:43Speaker 3: noticed because when you went back and watched it, maybe
- 15:46Speaker 3: you felt like the first the first few were still cool,
- 15:49Speaker 3: but there's always been like some weird things going on
- 15:52Speaker 3: as it progressed.
- 15:53Speaker 2: All right, Now, First, I didn't watch the first one
- 15:58Speaker 2: or the second one.
- 15:59Speaker 4: And that's the that's the capitalist.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but I've seen him too many times and I don't.
- 16:04Speaker 2: And the second one is the one that John Wu
- 16:06Speaker 2: I think directed and a lot.
- 16:08Speaker 3: And the one everybody hates.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And there's good, but I just don't hate it. I
- 16:13Speaker 1: don't know, i'd have to why it was it?
- 16:18Speaker 2: To me, the series is like just like uh, fast
- 16:20Speaker 2: and furious where it really turns into something else. When McGee,
- 16:25Speaker 2: the current director comes on. Because three is Philip Seymour Hoffman,
- 16:29Speaker 2: which is a really kind of dark one, and like
- 16:32Speaker 2: phil Hoffman is like super villainous, but was.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Not also time when he passed too, so I think.
- 16:37Speaker 1: He passes like uh year or two after that.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it was close, It was close. It was somewhere close.
- 16:43Speaker 3: So I remember it feeling even darker because of that.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he's really good. Re watching it, that
- 16:48Speaker 2: one is fired.
- 16:49Speaker 1: It's very good, and it also.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's like but that's what I'm saying, Like
- 16:56Speaker 2: I re watching it, especially around three when he I
- 16:59Speaker 2: can't remember the woman's name, but when he gets married
- 17:02Speaker 2: in three and then he's retired and then Philip Seymour
- 17:05Speaker 2: basically drags him out of retirement, and then in four
- 17:08Speaker 2: he realizes, Okay, I can't stay married to this woman
- 17:11Speaker 2: and had you know, was keeping her at a distance.
- 17:14Speaker 2: And then it goes into five, and I think it's
- 17:17Speaker 2: six with Henry cavill when Henry Caville at the very end,
- 17:21Speaker 2: when like that was to me the best one because
- 17:23Speaker 2: it was like just pure action straight through Henry Cavill
- 17:26Speaker 2: as amazing as the villain. And then it kind of
- 17:29Speaker 2: wraps everything up. You get to see everybody, You get
- 17:31Speaker 2: to see Luther, you get to see Benji, you get
- 17:33Speaker 2: to see his e's wife again. He Rebecca ferguson the
- 17:38Speaker 2: new short he's with. They're like going off into the
- 17:40Speaker 2: sunset together. At the end of the film, his ex
- 17:43Speaker 2: wife is happy and it was like a perfect wrap up.
- 17:45Speaker 2: But then that shit made so much money because that
- 17:48Speaker 2: was the illest one, and that he came back for
- 17:51Speaker 2: these last two, and to me, these last two have
- 17:53Speaker 2: been where it's like that's where it jumped the shark.
- 17:55Speaker 2: For me, the last two have been where it's been
- 17:57Speaker 2: like they both had I want to see, now that
- 18:00Speaker 2: they're both out and we are talking about it, I
- 18:02Speaker 2: want to see the super cut where they cut out
- 18:04Speaker 2: an hour and a half of talking.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Out of this fuck at least an hour and a half.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I mean, out of the two parts. Part one is
- 18:10Speaker 3: way better.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yes, Part one.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Is way but if you cut out an hour and
- 18:14Speaker 2: a half of the talking of this one and then,
- 18:16Speaker 2: like the first one had to say, it's the same
- 18:20Speaker 2: damn story and it's not the same exposition, So cramm
- 18:23Speaker 2: them together and then I think you got a fire film.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yeah, I would say I would agree with
- 18:28Speaker 3: with that.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Because when you rewatch the other ones, it's so crazy
- 18:32Speaker 2: that they went to just so much blah blah blah,
- 18:34Speaker 2: and the other ones are just like more quick, more action, morection,
- 18:38Speaker 2: talk five minutes, somebody gets killed.
- 18:43Speaker 3: He needs some breaks, hurts. Another thing why the movie
- 18:49Speaker 3: was this, this second Dead Reckoning whatever it was so long,
- 18:53Speaker 3: is because half of it is just highlight reels. Like
- 18:56Speaker 3: it's literally Ethan Hunt highlight reel He's done for one
- 19:01Speaker 3: hundred years and like literally the clips from the other
- 19:06Speaker 3: and it's just like to me, it also takes you
- 19:08Speaker 3: out of it a little bit because remember these clips
- 19:10Speaker 3: are like twenty plus.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Years old, so yes, the way they look looks different.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Like it doesn't look like it's just looks like it's
- 19:17Speaker 3: not like he's sitting there watching it on a TV screen, right,
- 19:20Speaker 3: It's just supposed to be his memories and like the
- 19:22Speaker 3: memory and I guess memories don't don't work that way,
- 19:24Speaker 3: but the memories don't even match it.
- 19:25Speaker 4: But it's like one is then like one is it
- 19:27Speaker 4: like like ten eightp the other.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Ones in AKHD one before that, h's so weird.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's like the first Impossible is definitely shot on film.
- 19:37Speaker 2: You know, probably the first three or so were probably
- 19:39Speaker 2: still shot on film, and now they're all digital and
- 19:42Speaker 2: various digital cameras.
- 19:43Speaker 3: It was just jarring. I was just like, I feel
- 19:45Speaker 3: like I was watching ESPN. I was just like, wait
- 19:47Speaker 3: a minute, now, what are we Like, are they cutting
- 19:53Speaker 3: us out of the movie to be like, bruh, remember
- 19:55Speaker 3: when this nigga did that, Like they were and that's cool,
- 19:58Speaker 3: Like if you are a mission po so super fan,
- 20:00Speaker 3: you're gonna fuck with it. But it was just it
- 20:03Speaker 3: just to me just bogged down the movie because even
- 20:06Speaker 3: though I was enjoying myself at the same token, I
- 20:09Speaker 3: was just like, Brad, the movie is still going.
- 20:13Speaker 4: And my husband was that we look at him. I
- 20:14Speaker 4: was like, it's still going. We went to like the
- 20:18Speaker 4: latest showing in the city.
- 20:19Speaker 3: We got out one am, and it was just like,
- 20:27Speaker 3: I think, like they knew how much exidition can we
- 20:29Speaker 3: sticking before the person starts falling asleep And at that
- 20:33Speaker 3: point through the actual scene, I.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Was like, oh my god, they're talking. They're talking.
- 20:37Speaker 3: The submarine scene, Oh my god, my god, more talking,
- 20:40Speaker 3: more talking, the bikel you know, like it was and
- 20:43Speaker 3: then what cracked me up the most about the film,
- 20:45Speaker 3: it's just like it's just in ways the way that
- 20:49Speaker 3: it was trite was just like, yes, we noticed this
- 20:54Speaker 3: is in a possible situation the captains, and how can
- 20:56Speaker 3: we make it mowing possible? Yes, okay, felt like like
- 21:01Speaker 3: you sitting there like me and my husband did the
- 21:02Speaker 3: game with each other while we were sitting in the
- 21:04Speaker 3: theater after the fact, we were just like, yo, you
- 21:07Speaker 3: on an airplane, right, and you you hanging off the side.
- 21:10Speaker 3: How can we make it more impossible? Let's break the
- 21:13Speaker 3: let's break the wing. All right, that's all right, that's cool,
- 21:16Speaker 3: but that's not impossible enough. How can we make it
- 21:18Speaker 3: more impossible?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Kive Gabriel nice? All right, all right?
- 21:22Speaker 3: And like it just keeps escalating, like someone was just
- 21:24Speaker 3: sitting there, like you could tell time was high as
- 21:26Speaker 3: fuck in the writer's room with them, and they was like, Tom,
- 21:29Speaker 3: this is the idea we got. You know, you're going
- 21:30Speaker 3: down there in the summer. He goes, all right, guys,
- 21:32Speaker 3: what about this?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah? What about fine? Almost drowned, And it just kept going, It.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Just keeps it just and I'm not going to tell
- 21:38Speaker 3: everything because I want to give it away, but it.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Just keeps escalating now and that's when it gets it
- 21:42Speaker 2: is related to the point of unbelievability.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Even though all these.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Films have that bit of curious levels.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Though what you said was really good, it's fast and
- 21:50Speaker 3: furies level unbelievabily like.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Okay, And I feel like that's why I say that
- 21:55Speaker 2: the one with Caville is the one, because that's the
- 21:58Speaker 2: one where it's like Tom and Tom's at his peak,
- 22:01Speaker 2: the direct things at the peak, all the apt thing
- 22:04Speaker 2: is and it's the one where it's like, Okay, he
- 22:06Speaker 2: survived this, but this is when he should retire. And
- 22:09Speaker 2: then it's like even the ending of that one, it's
- 22:12Speaker 2: the same type of thing where Luther has to cut
- 22:14Speaker 2: this wire what's his name has to cut Benchi has
- 22:17Speaker 2: to cut a wire, Rebecca has to cut a wire,
- 22:19Speaker 2: and Tom is on a cliff battling this nigga and
- 22:22Speaker 2: they don't even know what's doing all with Tom, and
- 22:24Speaker 2: Tom has to pull the detonator out and they have
- 22:27Speaker 2: to wait and just hope that Tom is.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Pulling the detonator outcause they get even taught to Tom.
- 22:33Speaker 3: And this keeps getting repeated movie at the movie I believe.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I'm like, why are you Yeah, and I'm saying, once
- 22:38Speaker 2: you did it an eight, you can't do it with
- 22:40Speaker 2: a didamn ai where they're trying to battle on Ai
- 22:43Speaker 2: for timing it just just like.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Listen, I have fun.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:49Speaker 3: At the same time, I was like, God, damn, Tom,
- 22:52Speaker 3: this was way too much. Thanks, thanks for your service
- 22:56Speaker 3: with Mike, Like it was, yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Bodplane, shit is cracked.
- 23:01Speaker 3: But bruh. All I got to say to y'all is
- 23:06Speaker 3: if you go for nothing for that movie, go for
- 23:08Speaker 3: the submarine. See that ship is insane. That is the
- 23:13Speaker 3: most lit sets I've ever seen in my life on
- 23:16Speaker 3: some inception type ship. Like that ship was, y'all.
- 23:21Speaker 4: I was bugged out, like what is going on? Like
- 23:23Speaker 4: this is this is fire.
- 23:24Speaker 1: In that biplane scene again and the like and.
- 23:27Speaker 3: You know, and then he's crazy so he does his
- 23:29Speaker 3: own stunts.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, in that one shot when
- 23:35Speaker 2: he is like wrapped up in the wings and he's floating,
- 23:39Speaker 2: not touching anything, just.
- 23:41Speaker 4: He's literally doing that.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that ship is and you know he's.
- 23:45Speaker 3: King of cinema. I was still given that he is
- 23:47Speaker 3: king of cinema. You know.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I read something where they were like during pandemic.
- 23:52Speaker 3: It was really allegedly, we're supposed we have Tom Cruiser
- 23:54Speaker 3: think for the movie industry still being up after pandemic,
- 23:57Speaker 3: because they said during that time when all the suities
- 23:59Speaker 3: were shut down, he basically called it the studios and
- 24:01Speaker 3: lied and said, oh, his production company was still shooting
- 24:05Speaker 3: and like he was still he and what he did
- 24:07Speaker 3: was he kept dropping like seeds everywhere, like, oh y'all
- 24:10Speaker 3: not doing nothing. Well, my production hummy, were going full
- 24:13Speaker 3: were going full out. And then so everybody believed and
- 24:16Speaker 3: they're like, oh, fuck, Tom Cruise is still still filming
- 24:18Speaker 3: and he's still producing.
- 24:19Speaker 4: We got it too, we can't get left behind.
- 24:22Speaker 3: And then as a story allegedly goes like he did that,
- 24:24Speaker 3: and then more and more suitors were like, well, shit,
- 24:26Speaker 3: if Tom's going we can't you know, we got the
- 24:28Speaker 3: money too, So all the other studios came on board.
- 24:30Speaker 3: And that's how it really like jump started the industry
- 24:33Speaker 3: to get back on board during or towards the end
- 24:36Speaker 3: of COVID. Well it's not really over, but y'all know
- 24:38Speaker 3: what I mean. But you know that's the other part.
- 24:41Speaker 3: But but yeah, towards that that that the end of
- 24:44Speaker 3: that first two year period. Let's say that Yeah, yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 3: COVID's still here, guys, still real, just saying superal. There
- 24:55Speaker 3: was one part though about this that you have mentioned
- 24:57Speaker 3: me in text, which was funny to me about the
- 24:59Speaker 3: whole scientific thing. Yeah, this ship, this nigga, he's been
- 25:03Speaker 3: a billboard for this from the beginning.
- 25:05Speaker 2: It feels like he cannot contain it anymore. Like this,
- 25:08Speaker 2: this one is the one where it turned into Tom
- 25:11Speaker 2: will save us all, you know, saying that I know
- 25:17Speaker 2: rewatching them.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeah it is.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's ridiculous because even in eight his wife, you know,
- 25:23Speaker 2: his ex wife tells him, you know, I sleep safe
- 25:26Speaker 2: at like knowing you're out there, you know, like he's.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Fucking Batman or whatever, like okay, my bigger Like he's
- 25:33Speaker 3: you know, get the Tom Cruise sign up.
- 25:35Speaker 4: He's coming.
- 25:35Speaker 3: He's gonna save us, Like I get.
- 25:37Speaker 1: It, Yeah, I get it.
- 25:39Speaker 3: But yeah, so they make him the messiah every time.
- 25:42Speaker 3: And then also the whole stuff is about like it
- 25:45Speaker 3: seems like like not believe, Like there's no point of
- 25:48Speaker 3: science in the movie. If you notice that there's no
- 25:49Speaker 3: point of like the idea is like there's no bounds
- 25:52Speaker 3: to the human body, no Yeah, Yeah, that's very much
- 25:57Speaker 3: scientology type ship. And that's very much the mind in
- 26:00Speaker 3: most of the especially the later movies and this movie
- 26:04Speaker 3: one hundred percent ship that is not fucking possible is
- 26:07Speaker 3: just fucking happening by sheer fucking will alone.
- 26:10Speaker 4: And it's mind boggling.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I mean, and I had the realization today, like thinking
- 26:16Speaker 2: about Tom Cruise, that he might be the greatest action
- 26:21Speaker 2: star of all time.
- 26:23Speaker 4: I will give you that.
- 26:26Speaker 2: The only other person I could think of now because
- 26:30Speaker 2: you know me, I grew up on the Schwarzeneggers and
- 26:34Speaker 2: that was the only other person was because like I said,
- 26:38Speaker 2: I grew up on Fandamn, you know Etctera And the
- 26:40Speaker 2: only other person that I could put in Tom. And
- 26:43Speaker 2: it's so crazy because growing up, you know, when when
- 26:46Speaker 2: Salon and was ruling.
- 26:47Speaker 1: The world, Tom Cruise was.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Doing like Bartender movies and racing cars or I mean
- 26:53Speaker 2: he had top gun. But it wasn't like I would
- 26:56Speaker 2: ever think of him as an action star, you know,
- 26:57Speaker 2: risky business, you know what I mean. Pretty and then
- 27:01Speaker 2: he transformed I mean, even the vampireless stack, you know
- 27:04Speaker 2: what I mean, Like I'm not thinking, I mean, he's
- 27:06Speaker 2: a great actor, but I'm not thinking to him as action.
- 27:09Speaker 1: And now the only other person is Jackie.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Chan, Like that's the only thing that's doing his own
- 27:13Speaker 3: suns or did his own stunts, like.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Yeah, and all that level of like and on that
- 27:17Speaker 4: level of like.
- 27:18Speaker 2: And then I really gotta give it to Tom because
- 27:20Speaker 2: I ain't never seen Jackie Chan dive out of a
- 27:23Speaker 2: plane like we watching the Henry cavill Win like, and
- 27:26Speaker 2: I've watched them making of that shot when that man
- 27:29Speaker 2: jumps out of the plane and the cameraman jumped him backwards,
- 27:33Speaker 2: like and I'm like watching to make it of it
- 27:36Speaker 2: to see.
- 27:37Speaker 1: No, this ship is real plane.
- 27:41Speaker 3: It's fucking real. And that's why I say he's king
- 27:43Speaker 3: of cinema. The spectacle is what it is. Listen, I
- 27:47Speaker 3: would say, like when we talk about the corn stuff,
- 27:49Speaker 3: like the dialogue is just atrocious.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Giro is weak and that's that's the big problem.
- 27:57Speaker 3: He's the funniest, like you you mentioned it very well.
- 28:00Speaker 3: He's very like when you say he went beyond just
- 28:03Speaker 3: chewing the scenery like this Nigga was five when just
- 28:09Speaker 3: no this, No, he is so funny and high ridiculous
- 28:13Speaker 3: and diabolical. It is like the stuff he is saying
- 28:16Speaker 3: and doing and like he's like a like you ever
- 28:18Speaker 3: watched like Spyros Spy where they sneaking around and the
- 28:23Speaker 3: bill and that got that got that mustache and he's
- 28:25Speaker 3: just this nigga is like it's like that's I'm gonna
- 28:29Speaker 3: tie your girlfriend at the train tracks. And it's funny
- 28:34Speaker 3: as fun because it just does not belong in this
- 28:36Speaker 3: type of setting. But it just works because it's funny
- 28:40Speaker 3: and it doesn't make any sense, and he and and
- 28:41Speaker 3: Gabriel stands out from everybody else. It's in terms of
- 28:44Speaker 3: from a character standpoint, like why'd you say that that's
- 28:53Speaker 3: a spoiler?
- 28:53Speaker 4: No, we gotta believe that that's a spoiler. No, no, no,
- 28:59Speaker 4: they don't know that.
- 29:00Speaker 3: All right, that's that's what but that that aside, No.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Can we just say this, that's hilarious? And he was ship.
- 29:14Speaker 3: No that my man's was hilarious because his character just
- 29:17Speaker 3: didn't was incongruent to everybody else. Just he was just
- 29:22Speaker 3: out there like that man was out there doing ship
- 29:28Speaker 3: and I fucking loved it because it was so funny.
- 29:31Speaker 3: I can't all the other characters was cool. There was
- 29:33Speaker 3: there was one scene that really fucked me up, like,
- 29:34Speaker 3: I actually got sad because I like that character a lot,
- 29:37Speaker 3: and I'm sorry what happened to him?
- 29:39Speaker 1: M hm oh yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I with with Angela. Y'all remember that Angela. She was
- 29:46Speaker 3: the president the last month and she's president again. I
- 29:49Speaker 3: fucked with Angela. Bat with that. Mister Milcheck, for those
- 29:51Speaker 3: who watched the mil Check, is in this ship. His
- 29:53Speaker 3: role is cute, baby cute. I like it and I
- 29:56Speaker 3: just like him.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Did you keep Shorty to the other Shorty from uh Lumen?
- 30:02Speaker 2: The light skinned black woman. She was the helicopter pilot.
- 30:09Speaker 2: It's a very quick role. I'm talking maybe one two scenes.
- 30:13Speaker 2: But the light stin black women who works at loomin pretty.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Yes, I didn't know she was in there, the pilot.
- 30:20Speaker 1: She's one of the pilots.
- 30:22Speaker 3: You verify that, okay she is?
- 30:24Speaker 2: I mean you know I pep there. Yeah, you know,
- 30:27Speaker 2: I beat there. I was like, okay, yeah, look at cutie.
- 30:29Speaker 1: But she's very she's like it's the lighting.
- 30:32Speaker 2: She looks you know, even paler in this like okay, yeah,
- 30:36Speaker 2: so yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 1: I fuck with it.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Is Chamuel Jammell Tillman. I fuck with him a lot. Yeah, everybody,
- 30:45Speaker 3: you know obviously the the whole cast, you know, the
- 30:47Speaker 3: big widow, all these people who've been there, you know,
- 30:51Speaker 3: Captain Britain, all these people. I forgot her, but oh
- 30:59Speaker 3: a fast hands, Agent Carter. Yeah, Captain Britain. Yeah, funk
- 31:05Speaker 3: with Agent Carter. Like all the whole cast is great.
- 31:07Speaker 3: The cast is great.
- 31:09Speaker 4: That it's it's it's just ridiculous.
- 31:13Speaker 3: That's gonna be my blurb. I'm rotten tomato. Should you
- 31:16Speaker 3: watch this movie? I'm gonna say yes. I would give
- 31:18Speaker 3: it a tomato, which means I give it it's good
- 31:20Speaker 3: for me. I would rate it.
- 31:23Speaker 4: I was not raty to be, but from the whole franchise,
- 31:25Speaker 4: I would probably.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Say like C minus. Yeah, and then my blurb is
- 31:30Speaker 3: it's fucking ridiculous.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I would just rate it to C minus. In general.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I think I gave a D plus before, and it's
- 31:36Speaker 2: like right around there. You know, it's in that same range,
- 31:40Speaker 2: just in general, and uh, except for these you know,
- 31:43Speaker 2: except for the couple of action sees, it's just too
- 31:46Speaker 2: much fucking yapping.
- 31:48Speaker 1: And that's all I can say.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Great John Tom, Yeah, no more.
- 31:56Speaker 1: No, I won't say that. I can't wait for the
- 31:57Speaker 1: next on Tom bring it.
- 31:59Speaker 3: You think he be in it because you know, they
- 32:01Speaker 3: they set it up so like, ok, is gonna go
- 32:03Speaker 3: on forever like fast and furious. So is he going
- 32:05Speaker 3: to actually be there though doing shit or he gonna
- 32:07Speaker 3: pop up at the end like surprise.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Nobody else is going to risk their lives like him.
- 32:11Speaker 2: And I know he can't do it, but I'm just saying,
- 32:14Speaker 2: I don't know who some.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Time a time when the scientology that's gonna run out
- 32:17Speaker 3: that I mean, you know what.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I'm saying, he can't do it.
- 32:20Speaker 2: This one was like you can't do it, you know
- 32:23Speaker 2: because like yeah, because like the sub ship had a
- 32:26Speaker 2: lot of you know, there was some you know.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Anyway, I don't know how.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Many drugs this man was on to that this because
- 32:32Speaker 3: he's like eighty years old, So how is he? How's
- 32:34Speaker 3: he doing this?
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah? I know, but no, And I don't know if
- 32:39Speaker 1: they can convince somebody else. You know.
- 32:41Speaker 2: It's like the Jackie Chance and Tom cruises don't come
- 32:43Speaker 2: every day, you know what I mean, So bro, I
- 32:46Speaker 2: don't know, Yeah, you know, the last after you're for
- 32:50Speaker 2: real damn.
- 32:52Speaker 3: They call him the last movie star to the last
- 32:54Speaker 3: real movie star.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Too, and that's just true. They want to hold on
- 32:57Speaker 2: the ship because like Michael B. Jordan ain't out there
- 32:59Speaker 2: putting ass and seats facts. That's like that, that's some
- 33:08Speaker 2: you know, the last movie star to who you know
- 33:11Speaker 2: facts for you.
- 33:12Speaker 3: You know, speaking of Michael B. Jordan's Sinners is.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Out on digital, Yes it is.
- 33:22Speaker 3: I don't know if you cop I've already put in
- 33:24Speaker 3: my pre order for the DVD.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know which one I really need
- 33:28Speaker 1: I'm getting.
- 33:28Speaker 4: So there's three that I seen, it might be more.
- 33:30Speaker 3: There's one that's like they call it a steelcase where
- 33:33Speaker 3: it's like a big case with like the pictures and whatnot.
- 33:35Speaker 4: And then there's one that's you HD, what do they
- 33:38Speaker 4: call that?
- 33:39Speaker 3: The four K h D.
- 33:39Speaker 4: And then there's one that's Blu ray.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I just got the four K in the blue ray
- 33:42Speaker 3: because I was like, well, something's not gonna work one year,
- 33:45Speaker 3: so let me just use get both.
- 33:47Speaker 4: And I don't mind giving my money to that.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I don't mind giving my money.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I'm just not big on physical I like, you know,
- 33:54Speaker 2: I like owning things.
- 33:56Speaker 4: You don't like too much physical.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I mean that I don't in the position we're in
- 34:02Speaker 3: now where there is no like we have no physical
- 34:04Speaker 3: copies of nothing, and the moment they pull the plug,
- 34:06Speaker 3: it's gone, right because sometimes convenience things sometimes it's just
- 34:10Speaker 3: like I don't have the space for it whatever.
- 34:12Speaker 2: I mean, there's always space to have things, you know
- 34:14Speaker 2: what I mean? Of course, yeah my stuff, don't you know,
- 34:17Speaker 2: you can pull whatever you want. I'm still gonna have
- 34:20Speaker 2: anything I wanted to watch.
- 34:21Speaker 3: But you do like physical copies and things. Look at
- 34:23Speaker 3: all the figurines you have and.
- 34:24Speaker 1: A vinyl yeah, see vinyl.
- 34:28Speaker 2: It's like analog versions of things versus digital copies of
- 34:33Speaker 2: stuff where it doesn't do it for me, like if
- 34:34Speaker 2: I can actually get the film itself that you know,
- 34:38Speaker 2: so you.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Don't care about the DVD.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because I just have the digital copy, you
- 34:41Speaker 2: know what I mean. Like that's why to me, it
- 34:43Speaker 2: doesn't make any difference to have the DVD versus having
- 34:45Speaker 2: a digital copy.
- 34:46Speaker 1: You know, I don't.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I don't have many physical media things. But the stuff
- 34:52Speaker 3: I do besides like books and stuff, this stuff I
- 34:54Speaker 3: do is usually like particular stuff like Beyonce, stuff like
- 34:57Speaker 3: from Renaissance and Cowboy Carter. I have that Fiyically, I
- 35:01Speaker 3: still have like physical like things like this, like my
- 35:03Speaker 3: Leah self titled album. Like certain things that I've been
- 35:09Speaker 3: a mass over the years, or I feel I have
- 35:11Speaker 3: a particular critical importance to me, I want that physical copy.
- 35:14Speaker 3: So that's why I'm like, bro, I'm getting Sinners because yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 3: this is.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I'll probably get a copy of the Center's vinyl, maybe
- 35:22Speaker 2: the LP.
- 35:23Speaker 4: But I'm not coming out or they have that out already.
- 35:25Speaker 2: I think it might be out, probably sold out and
- 35:27Speaker 2: I might have missed it. Had to check on that.
- 35:30Speaker 1: But yeah, I know you could get it.
- 35:32Speaker 3: You canna get it?
- 35:33Speaker 1: I see it?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Okay, nice? All right, Well still, I'll see that's something.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Could that is something I could use to It's like
- 35:39Speaker 2: having a I don't know, I might get a DVD
- 35:40Speaker 2: because there's a couple of DVDs that I have bought.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I would usually buy stuff also recipes when I would
- 35:45Speaker 2: show up to my dad, you know, because that's how
- 35:47Speaker 2: I would do it, like I do, buy a DVD
- 35:49Speaker 2: and then bring it home, like, Okay, I want you
- 35:51Speaker 2: to see this joint, you know?
- 35:52Speaker 1: Could that be the easiest way for him to see it?
- 35:54Speaker 3: So the vinyls on pre order and it says it's
- 35:57Speaker 3: schedularship or this site anyway, So the schedule shit late September.
- 36:01Speaker 3: The DVDs are supposed to ship like July eighth, if
- 36:04Speaker 3: I'm not mistaken. And as mentioned, the digital if you
- 36:08Speaker 3: just want to buy or rent the digital meaning like streaming,
- 36:11Speaker 3: it's out now.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Yeah, now that I might this, I might, you know,
- 36:15Speaker 2: I might, I might cop it, you know, like Blue Giant.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I bought.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I bought a digital copy of Blue Giants because I
- 36:23Speaker 2: you know, I found in another means and I was like,
- 36:25Speaker 2: I love this film that much.
- 36:26Speaker 1: And I immediately bought it.
- 36:28Speaker 2: You know, I own that drawing on Amazon, but they
- 36:31Speaker 2: can take that away from me anytime, so I.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Would get a DVD act you know.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so that's why, I mean, they could take
- 36:39Speaker 3: away from you. They go into your hard drive or
- 36:41Speaker 3: something like that. But like if you downloaded and put
- 36:43Speaker 3: it on.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, multiple different hard drives.
- 36:46Speaker 4: I've done that, no one can ever take it from you, right,
- 36:48Speaker 4: there's still.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Well, no one's taking Blue Giant from me because yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been did that.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Yeah, And I was like, you know, certain films like
- 36:57Speaker 2: that I'm going to have on various around the world.
- 37:01Speaker 3: But yeah, I'm gonna say you talking about like the
- 37:04Speaker 3: Center's LP and stuff just made me think about, like
- 37:06Speaker 3: when you were talking about your the music right, the
- 37:09Speaker 3: music of the how important music is, and how like
- 37:13Speaker 3: I haven't remembered just how much I like, I saw
- 37:15Speaker 3: it three times and was affected. I was devastated each
- 37:19Speaker 3: time on that scene, that scene with the the famous
- 37:23Speaker 3: scene now when they're at the juke joint and you know,
- 37:26Speaker 3: the the what you call it the river of music
- 37:29Speaker 3: that's from from Jimmy Hendrix's perspective, from your book Hendricks,
- 37:33Speaker 3: the river of music, the ancestors, the the origins of
- 37:37Speaker 3: music and or genre and not even know where's the genre,
- 37:40Speaker 3: the origins of all the different types of music that
- 37:42Speaker 3: you know, right from the blues to rock, you know,
- 37:47Speaker 3: R and B house all this stuff, and the movie
- 37:52Speaker 3: said it without saying and I would hope that people
- 37:55Speaker 3: would understand. But like it's a larger premise that you
- 37:58Speaker 3: actually touched on in a recent Threads posts on IG
- 38:03Speaker 3: you said, go ahead, you said, every major genre of
- 38:10Speaker 3: American music is black music. Every single one that post
- 38:16Speaker 3: got two point eight k likes, a few hundred retreats,
- 38:20Speaker 3: and a few.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Hundred you know comments, And then you clarify further.
- 38:25Speaker 3: You said, To be clear, black people have been making
- 38:27Speaker 3: blues music since we arrived in America. Genre quote only
- 38:30Speaker 3: changes because of technology and time and a ton of
- 38:33Speaker 3: what we call genres. It's just people trying to make
- 38:35Speaker 3: you forget that the particular genre is black, like house
- 38:39Speaker 3: with E d M or heavy metal rock, et cetera.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Right, that was so funny as predicted.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Uh, there were a couple of people who were like, yeah,
- 38:50Speaker 3: you're right, and there were much more people who are like,
- 38:53Speaker 3: what are you talking about? Because everyone loves to miss
- 38:55Speaker 3: the point.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I mean most remember you know, the lights always counters
- 38:59Speaker 2: you know, you getting the point, even if you don't
- 39:02Speaker 2: respond or not.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I count that. I don't care if you're liking it
- 39:04Speaker 1: for whatever reason. So I'm talking about the comments. Yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 1: and in the comments for the.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I'd say the comments usually all right, this thing is
- 39:15Speaker 2: like I was clinging into tantowna.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Off there.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I've made this post in various forms throughout the years,
- 39:23Speaker 2: on every form of social media therever is. I'm actually
- 39:26Speaker 2: looking at this image I have right now because I
- 39:28Speaker 2: just saved it from a post that I did before
- 39:31Speaker 2: a few years back. Because I found this image, and
- 39:34Speaker 2: this image basically says blues came from black culture, Jazz
- 39:38Speaker 2: came from black culture, rock and roll came from black culture,
- 39:40Speaker 2: Funk came from black culture.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Song came from black culture. Hip hop came from black culture.
- 39:44Speaker 2: This pro black culture, house, black culture, techno, black culture, jungle,
- 39:48Speaker 2: black culture, druma based black culture, garage, black culture, grime,
- 39:52Speaker 2: black culture, dub step, black culture, and I'm leaving out
- 39:56Speaker 2: tons of punk.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Rock, Go Go.
- 40:00Speaker 2: New Orleans Bounce. You know, I could go on and
- 40:04Speaker 2: on and on. And when I made this post this time,
- 40:10Speaker 2: it was basically because the famous EDIM producer House producer,
- 40:15Speaker 2: as I like to say, David Gweta, made a statement
- 40:19Speaker 2: this week talk about how he'd been DJed since before
- 40:21Speaker 2: there was House, and he might actually be technically correct,
- 40:26Speaker 2: you know, but it was just the point of like
- 40:28Speaker 2: this being Black and Music Month, it's also being Pride month.
- 40:32Speaker 1: You trying to erase and.
- 40:35Speaker 2: You and David Gweta I'm speaking to knows this knows
- 40:39Speaker 2: that House has been gentrified by the creation of IDIM,
- 40:43Speaker 2: by the creation of electronic dance music and all various
- 40:46Speaker 2: offshoots trans I mean, like I didn't know personally, this
- 40:50Speaker 2: is me personally, I didn't know that techno as techno,
- 40:53Speaker 2: like techno itself comes from Detroit and it comes from
- 40:56Speaker 2: black people, like because I always thought of techno as
- 40:58Speaker 2: that white shit, you know, Like I didn't know that
- 41:01Speaker 2: techno was.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Black music first.
- 41:04Speaker 3: You know.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I didn't know that the techno that I like, like
- 41:07Speaker 2: the old school techno, was what techno is because I
- 41:09Speaker 2: always think of techno as like shit to David Gutta
- 41:12Speaker 2: makes you.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Know, which is really EDM or whatever.
- 41:16Speaker 2: But you know, they took that word, you know, because
- 41:19Speaker 2: when I was coming up, I wasn't taught that techno
- 41:21Speaker 2: came from Detroit and then it was black. I was
- 41:24Speaker 2: always heard, Oh, techno, We're going to a techno party,
- 41:27Speaker 2: you know, so I was like, Oh, that's that white shit,
- 41:29Speaker 2: that's that white version of house. Is what I used
- 41:31Speaker 2: to think basically, you know, because I knew that house
- 41:34Speaker 2: was black, but I didn't realize that techno was also black.
- 41:37Speaker 2: It's like how for a long time I didn't know
- 41:39Speaker 2: that punk rock comes from Washington, DC and the first.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Punk rock bands are black.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Period.
- 41:45Speaker 2: It goes on and on and on, and like what
- 41:47Speaker 2: I was saying is what I've also come to realize
- 41:50Speaker 2: and is part of what we talk about. I mean,
- 41:52Speaker 2: it's not part of it's one of the main things
- 41:54Speaker 2: we talk about in Jimmy Hendris Purple Hayz. And it's
- 41:56Speaker 2: the same thing that centers uh says. And I guess
- 42:00Speaker 2: it's just this thing that's in the ether. And a
- 42:01Speaker 2: lot of people have realized this throughout the years, and
- 42:03Speaker 2: I think it's not very you know, I've seen people
- 42:06Speaker 2: like Roy Ears, you know, one of the greatest musicians
- 42:08Speaker 2: of all time, talk about this like it's all one genre.
- 42:12Speaker 2: You know, that's what you're saying. He's like bebop, hip hop,
- 42:15Speaker 2: it's all the same. You know, it's all the same.
- 42:17Speaker 2: And what I realize is blues is our original form
- 42:20Speaker 2: of music in this country because it's a reaction to
- 42:23Speaker 2: what happened to us in this country. And so through
- 42:25Speaker 2: that realization, I was like, all we've ever done is
- 42:27Speaker 2: make blues. Technology changes so that allows for different things
- 42:32Speaker 2: interpretations of blues. And also Black people are so creative
- 42:36Speaker 2: that we will exhaust something like jazz is like the
- 42:39Speaker 2: exhausting of what you're doing with instrumental music. You know,
- 42:42Speaker 2: it's like what whole training in them are doing. You're
- 42:45Speaker 2: never going you know, you can do it. You can try,
- 42:48Speaker 2: but it's like kind of like we as a culture
- 42:51Speaker 2: where like okay, now we're moving on to something else,
- 42:54Speaker 2: you know, and there's still people doing jazz and it's
- 42:56Speaker 2: bounding upon it and everything. But as a culture, we
- 42:58Speaker 2: just we create new things over and over again. M hm,
- 43:02Speaker 2: and time moves us along, right.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I agree?
- 43:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 43:07Speaker 3: And what was interesting some of the responses like it's
- 43:10Speaker 3: a typical why I mentioned the lots of predictable stuff happening,
- 43:13Speaker 3: which is like people like purposefully missing the point and
- 43:16Speaker 3: throwing out red herrings, like someone said like classical music
- 43:19Speaker 3: will have a word.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I'm just like cancer for music is an American?
- 43:23Speaker 3: Why are you throwing this stuff out there? And if
- 43:25Speaker 3: someone said ever heard of metal? As if metal is
- 43:29Speaker 3: not from rock?
- 43:30Speaker 2: But and again that's the point, like and this is
- 43:32Speaker 2: when and they were there, and see that's the that's
- 43:36Speaker 2: the trick, right because as they claim metal starts in
- 43:39Speaker 2: England with I guess Black Sabbath, right, and Black Sabbath
- 43:44Speaker 2: will tell you straight from their mouth.
- 43:46Speaker 3: That Osborne said directly where create like I've seen it,
- 43:53Speaker 3: and I don't think he said it like recently, I
- 43:55Speaker 3: don't even know what was going on with man but.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Many years ago.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, he even said verbatim, Oh yeah, xyz, he would
- 44:02Speaker 3: name black artists. I think he's even said James Brown
- 44:05Speaker 3: or something else.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Of course, no, Sabbath is like huge.
- 44:08Speaker 3: James Brown, he said, up, Jimmy Hendricks obviously, and a
- 44:12Speaker 3: whole bunch.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Of others, whole bunch of blues.
- 44:14Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 44:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and again heavy metal is obviously an offshoot of
- 44:20Speaker 2: rock which comes from uh Sister Rosetta Thorpe and Chuck
- 44:25Speaker 2: Berry black people.
- 44:28Speaker 1: You know, like this is just how it is.
- 44:30Speaker 2: And like another typical response, I get the one that
- 44:33Speaker 2: I love is a Western musical notation, as if that's
- 44:37Speaker 2: the only form of musical notation, as.
- 44:39Speaker 1: If even a lot of people ever used.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Musical notation to create music, as if people were not
- 44:45Speaker 2: creating music well before Western musical notation, which means it's
- 44:51Speaker 2: such a racisting to say that, like we were waiting
- 44:54Speaker 2: for these white people to crawl out of their caves
- 44:57Speaker 2: to develop a civilization before we started singing before like
- 45:01Speaker 2: the rest of the world wasn't making music before y'all
- 45:04Speaker 2: crawled out of because civilization goes off for thousands of
- 45:08Speaker 2: years before Europe started crawling out of caves holps.
- 45:11Speaker 3: And this is just a lot of these responses are
- 45:13Speaker 3: just all distractions because yes, you said American music, so
- 45:19Speaker 3: all the what about? But what about You're not fucking
- 45:22Speaker 3: talking about all this stuff that the stuff that's unrelated,
- 45:25Speaker 3: We're not talking about that.
- 45:26Speaker 1: And even.
- 45:28Speaker 2: It's like yeah, even when it is related, like they'll
- 45:31Speaker 2: be like, oh, what about appellation?
- 45:34Speaker 1: What about what about polka? And I'm like, are those
- 45:37Speaker 1: major forms of American music?
- 45:39Speaker 2: No? Because the reason is because they don't take from
- 45:42Speaker 2: black people. Because all the major forms of American music
- 45:45Speaker 2: take from black people. Because black people are the soul
- 45:48Speaker 2: and the heart of this country.
- 45:49Speaker 3: And that is the crux of the concern. That is
- 45:53Speaker 3: the crux of the issue. That's the crux of the argument.
- 45:55Speaker 3: That's the crux of what you were saying. But that's
- 45:57Speaker 3: what drives niggas crazy.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's like, the one that I really love
- 46:03Speaker 2: is when they call me racist for pointing out this fact.
- 46:05Speaker 2: And it's something that that is like one of the
- 46:07Speaker 2: greatest forms of technology I've ever seen. When people call
- 46:11Speaker 2: you racist for pointing out racism, you know, it is
- 46:15Speaker 2: it is such a slick ass trick.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Is such a trick.
- 46:20Speaker 2: You know, me, I don't give a fuck, and I
- 46:21Speaker 2: just block you and keep it moving because I'm never
- 46:24Speaker 2: gonna even distress someone. Like someone was like mad because
- 46:27Speaker 2: I didn't respond to someone else shut them down, and
- 46:29Speaker 2: they were like you didn't response, Like Noah, because I
- 46:31Speaker 2: don't respond when people use this type of you know,
- 46:33Speaker 2: when they call me a racist for pointing out racism,
- 46:36Speaker 2: Like it's for me pointing out that whiteness has you know,
- 46:40Speaker 2: tried to steal all of these prolatures that I named earlier, blues, jazz,
- 46:45Speaker 2: rock and roll, funk, soul, hip hop, disco, house, techno, jungle, drummer,
- 46:49Speaker 2: based and dumpsik on and on and on. Whitenesses tried
- 46:52Speaker 2: to claim all of them. It's racist for me to
- 46:56Speaker 2: point this out, but not racist for them to.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Do and racist to undermine what you're saying by by
- 47:05Speaker 3: using racist approaches to say, well you're wrong, then, I mean,
- 47:09Speaker 3: because yes, like when you're talking pure site, you know
- 47:11Speaker 3: some that's the wildest part and that like I wanted
- 47:14Speaker 3: to make this my pen tweet because after I said
- 47:17Speaker 3: this the last time, because like I said, this is
- 47:19Speaker 3: not you know, I've said this for years but I've
- 47:20Speaker 3: recently said it with centers came out, and then I
- 47:23Speaker 3: said it the other day because of Gweta. So this
- 47:26Speaker 3: is like twice in a month maybe and I've said
- 47:28Speaker 3: it and it was the reaction was the same both times.
- 47:30Speaker 3: It was, you know, blew up thousands of lights and
- 47:33Speaker 3: a bunch of Oh, you're just trying to race bait.
- 47:36Speaker 1: You're just trying to do this.
- 47:37Speaker 2: And what I wanted to make my pen tweet after
- 47:40Speaker 2: that or pin thread whatever is I need less white
- 47:44Speaker 2: men telling me about black music. And that is like
- 47:48Speaker 2: straight up and down because if you really are you know, uh,
- 47:53Speaker 2: I don't believe in allies whatever, but if you are
- 47:56Speaker 2: really down and you were really about it, you this
- 47:59Speaker 2: ship would have fit. Like one dude was like, I
- 48:01Speaker 2: know I played black music. Blah blah, motherfucker stops right there.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I know I played black music. Stop because if you
- 48:08Speaker 2: know that, that's all I'm saying. Keep it moving after that,
- 48:10Speaker 2: enjoy it, Enjoy what we've given you, because throughout all
- 48:13Speaker 2: the drama and nonsense that you put on us as
- 48:16Speaker 2: a people, we have given you nothing but greatness, like
- 48:20Speaker 2: the one that I always love to point out because
- 48:21Speaker 2: I only learned this when I went to the Smithsonian
- 48:23Speaker 2: Music thing was that punk rock and.
- 48:26Speaker 1: What is it? Punk rock? And Go Go both start
- 48:29Speaker 1: in Washington, D C.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Within like five years of each other, you know what
- 48:33Speaker 2: I mean, Like just two magical forms of music created
- 48:38Speaker 2: by black people in five years time in one city.
- 48:41Speaker 1: You know, that's just like the amount of creativity that.
- 48:44Speaker 2: We have done New Orleans, you know, like the shit
- 48:47Speaker 2: that flows out of that fucking city and the hell
- 48:49Speaker 2: you put the black people in it through it, you know,
- 48:51Speaker 2: and the shit that still comes out of that city
- 48:53Speaker 2: to this day because of you know, our creativity, and
- 48:57Speaker 2: so you can't even give us that, you know what
- 49:02Speaker 2: I mean. It's disgusting, and I for one am not
- 49:06Speaker 2: going to stand for it. You know, like it's Black
- 49:08Speaker 2: Music Month, it's Pride Month. It's a lot of shit,
- 49:11Speaker 2: and we all, you know, this is all we do.
- 49:14Speaker 2: And look again to Native Americans too, you know, indigenous,
- 49:20Speaker 2: to brown people, to you know, everyone else, to all
- 49:25Speaker 2: my Asiatic Afro Asiatic people around the world. Again, this
- 49:30Speaker 2: should not offend anyone, but it damn sure shouldn't offend
- 49:35Speaker 2: y'all because y'all know what y'all contributed, you know, what
- 49:39Speaker 2: I mean, And none of us have ever said, y'all
- 49:42Speaker 2: haven't right now I had.
- 49:45Speaker 1: I had one dude who playing.
- 49:47Speaker 2: To be native whenever you're playing to be Native American online,
- 49:51Speaker 2: I really believe, especially when you come at me with
- 49:54Speaker 2: some nonsense, you know, because if you come at me
- 49:57Speaker 2: with some nonsense, I think you're white. I'm sorry, or
- 49:59Speaker 2: somebody who wishes they work in the story, like I
- 50:02Speaker 2: don't give but race you are. If you came at
- 50:04Speaker 2: me with some nonsense over that, then you're somebody wishes
- 50:07Speaker 2: they were white, because you should have got the point,
- 50:10Speaker 2: and the point is simple.
- 50:11Speaker 1: We did all this in the story.
- 50:13Speaker 2: It's like people are like, oh, so I can't make
- 50:16Speaker 2: music now, No, motherfucker did I say that.
- 50:18Speaker 1: No, y'all already gonna make it.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I just want you to recognize, you know, like it
- 50:25Speaker 2: was all these things like that I did not say.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's see, it's the arguments of fallacy. It's the logic traps,
- 50:33Speaker 3: it's the you know, all the tricks that we mentioned.
- 50:36Speaker 3: It's like all this stuff that people employed because they
- 50:39Speaker 3: do not know how to typically have critical.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Thought or to hold that hell or hold right.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Just accept the truth. You know, the earth is not
- 50:50Speaker 3: flat accept the truth, you know, shit like.
- 50:53Speaker 4: That, Like it's it's just very simple things.
- 50:54Speaker 3: And lots of times, you know what people do, they
- 50:56Speaker 3: be like your your your comment means the absence of
- 50:59Speaker 3: something else, like that's not what I fucking said.
- 51:02Speaker 4: The famous one goes on on on Twitter.
- 51:05Speaker 3: I can say I like pancakes, and somebody will respond
- 51:07Speaker 3: with what the fuck is wrong with waffles?
- 51:08Speaker 4: Why you why are you mad at that? And I'm
- 51:10Speaker 4: just like, never what.
- 51:12Speaker 2: I said, Never what I said? The majority of the
- 51:18Speaker 2: And that's another thing that I, you know, always talk about,
- 51:21Speaker 2: is that genre is, like I said, the idea of
- 51:24Speaker 2: genre is basically racism because black people, when we were
- 51:28Speaker 2: creating the ship, we don't call this ship. Miles Davis
- 51:31Speaker 2: famously hates the term jazz. He wanted to call his music, uh,
- 51:35Speaker 2: cultural music, basically pop music, you know, popular music because
- 51:39Speaker 2: and you know, mad people, I've seen that, you know,
- 51:41Speaker 2: throughout history, and you know, black people are always like,
- 51:44Speaker 2: why do you call my music this? Why don't you
- 51:45Speaker 2: just call pop music? Because it sells, it's popular, you know,
- 51:50Speaker 2: so why isn't it pop?
- 51:51Speaker 1: You know? Why is it jazz? Why is it distro?
- 51:53Speaker 1: Why is it funk.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Why is it all this other shit, you know, when
- 51:57Speaker 2: it's just popular music, When it's just music for that matter,
- 52:01Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Why does it have to
- 52:02Speaker 2: be some other thing?
- 52:04Speaker 1: But genre?
- 52:04Speaker 2: You need because genre allows you want people love defining things.
- 52:08Speaker 2: But two more importantly, it allows things to be separated
- 52:12Speaker 2: and allows people to think that they can claim something,
- 52:14Speaker 2: like they can say, oh, we invented heavy metal. Another fucker,
- 52:20Speaker 2: how nobody like recipes of Guru the rapper who said
- 52:25Speaker 2: you don't own those loops, you know what I mean,
- 52:27Speaker 2: talk about music like nobody owns these notes? You know,
- 52:30Speaker 2: like this shit goes back to primordial times and when
- 52:34Speaker 2: you really want to go back to it, all music
- 52:36Speaker 2: is black music. Could we all come from Africa? And
- 52:39Speaker 2: so the first music was all made in Africa, you
- 52:42Speaker 2: know what I mean. So it's like all music comes
- 52:44Speaker 2: from black music. But it's like these notes and shit,
- 52:47Speaker 2: like the notes that we're playing in America, the notes
- 52:50Speaker 2: that the majority of the chord structures. Everything goes back
- 52:54Speaker 2: to blues, you know what I mean. People just keep
- 52:57Speaker 2: reusing it.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Modern R and B.
- 52:59Speaker 2: All that shit just blues at different speeds, you know,
- 53:02Speaker 2: blues and gospel, which you know, gospel comes out of
- 53:06Speaker 2: the blues and spirituals. Song in the fields. You know,
- 53:09Speaker 2: before we could you know when we out there picking
- 53:11Speaker 2: that car and sing it. Those are the you know,
- 53:14Speaker 2: it's just been reused throughout time that you know, we
- 53:16Speaker 2: sample them now, but before people just replayed them in
- 53:19Speaker 2: different ways.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Racism affects us all. I mean, racism is the bane.
- 53:26Speaker 3: It's it wasn't racist that they cut the Black Panther game.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Was that just because like they just because they just
- 53:36Speaker 3: shut down that ship. It was like I ain't no money?
- 53:39Speaker 3: Which one was it?
- 53:40Speaker 1: See?
- 53:40Speaker 2: That's the thing to me that that part of that
- 53:43Speaker 2: is because of racism straight up, because it's the same
- 53:45Speaker 2: thing where we were talking about earlierhere. It's like Tom
- 53:47Speaker 2: Cruise and Sunday the last you know, movie star, when
- 53:51Speaker 2: Sinners made with definitely less promotion, et cetera. Centers made
- 53:56Speaker 2: as much or like I think it's like one million
- 53:58Speaker 2: less than Thunderbolts, and it's going to make way more
- 54:01Speaker 2: of the long run, you know, because it's Centers.
- 54:03Speaker 3: As we see the highest sentences, the highest grossing original
- 54:08Speaker 3: ip in a decade, that's over one hundred million at
- 54:12Speaker 3: this point. And then like people were like, oh, it's
- 54:14Speaker 3: no three hundred and thirty nine million. Yeah, yeah, I
- 54:17Speaker 3: think the last ye that's world why they were talking
- 54:20Speaker 3: about domestically and and and they were they were talking
- 54:24Speaker 3: about a subset. And then so then they looked at it.
- 54:26Speaker 3: They said, oh, Variety, remember that article you put out
- 54:29Speaker 3: a month ago or two months ago when they was like, oh,
- 54:32Speaker 3: you got a lot of it got They said, oh,
- 54:34Speaker 3: it had a good open the weekend, but it's got
- 54:35Speaker 3: a lot of ground to cover. It's got to make
- 54:37Speaker 3: that money. I was just like, what kind of a
- 54:40Speaker 3: backhanded like article was that or headline was that?
- 54:43Speaker 1: But we saw the same thing.
- 54:44Speaker 2: And this goes back to like the Black Panther game
- 54:47Speaker 2: and even the Black Panther film. And I remember the
- 54:50Speaker 2: time because I was in Hollywood at the time, right,
- 54:53Speaker 2: and I had like, I guess I was delusion. I
- 54:58Speaker 2: can admit it now, you know, because I.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Was delusional, right.
- 55:00Speaker 2: I was sitting there thinking, Okay, Hollywood has to see
- 55:05Speaker 2: that this ship made a billion easily, you know, when
- 55:09Speaker 2: they barely give it any promotion or any love just
- 55:12Speaker 2: because you finally put a black superhero up here, We're
- 55:15Speaker 2: about to have a ton of black movies, right, it's
- 55:17Speaker 2: time fuck out here, nigga, because whiteness won't allow that. Like,
- 55:22Speaker 2: and that's when I realized how that was my breaking
- 55:26Speaker 2: point with capitalism, with white supremacy, probably with a lot
- 55:28Speaker 2: of things alif because that's when I realized that this
- 55:31Speaker 2: ship will destroy the world in order to keep whiteness alive.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Look at the Dictatorship brand right now.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and it will.
- 55:40Speaker 2: It will like it will do anything like because it will.
- 55:44Speaker 2: It will ignore money to keep whiteness alive. And that's
- 55:47Speaker 2: when it's like capitalism, Like capitalism is all about making money,
- 55:51Speaker 2: but whiteness is so concerned we're protecting itself that it
- 55:54Speaker 2: will destroy the thing that got it to.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Face.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it'll shut down.
- 56:01Speaker 2: It's and that that is the only thing that was
- 56:03Speaker 2: shut down capitalism is whiteness. It's like, we can't make
- 56:07Speaker 2: money over here because that would give them too much strength.
- 56:11Speaker 2: And that's how powerful whiteness is, where it will turn
- 56:14Speaker 2: down money, which is its you know, main demon.
- 56:17Speaker 3: Like well, Ben, just going back to the Black Panther,
- 56:21Speaker 3: you can still play him in Marvel Rivals. You can
- 56:24Speaker 3: still play him. And there's another game coming out too,
- 56:27Speaker 3: you know, there is another game.
- 56:28Speaker 2: But I feel like you're right, like that is part
- 56:30Speaker 2: of it's just because it's like they and it's also
- 56:33Speaker 2: racism and ignorance because they're like, oh this to this day,
- 56:35Speaker 2: they're probably thinking, this day won't make no money.
- 56:39Speaker 1: You know, to this day there's a zach you're thinking that, really, I.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Don't want I'm not going to want to be naive.
- 56:44Speaker 3: I'm just like nigga, you really thought that, Like at
- 56:47Speaker 3: the everything that's going on, you're really thinking that.
- 56:50Speaker 2: Yes, because you know, Hollywood's insane and it's stilled with
- 56:54Speaker 2: people who are replaceable, you know, and the video game
- 56:57Speaker 2: industry is even more racist than Hollywood. So yes, I
- 57:02Speaker 2: fully believe that, you know, I fully believe they're like,
- 57:05Speaker 2: oh fuck this, dam it or never, you know, and
- 57:07Speaker 2: then you remember the amount of money you outlay into
- 57:10Speaker 2: a game is even worse to movies.
- 57:12Speaker 1: So it's like I get it.
- 57:14Speaker 2: They you know, they're you know, the algorithms will say,
- 57:17Speaker 2: because the algorithms were designed by white people, that you know,
- 57:20Speaker 2: this day macer made no money. It's a Satne and
- 57:23Speaker 2: centers like they projected it to make, you know, low money,
- 57:26Speaker 2: and then it makes all the money in the world.
- 57:28Speaker 2: And it's like, how don't you all get it? Like,
- 57:31Speaker 2: this is the director of the billion dollar Black Panther
- 57:34Speaker 2: with the star of the billion dollar Black Panther with
- 57:38Speaker 2: new freshness.
- 57:40Speaker 3: They're first of all this whole thing about SELFSTI there's
- 57:43Speaker 3: infinite amounts of money in this world. And the reason
- 57:45Speaker 3: why I say this is and this is this is
- 57:48Speaker 3: nothing to do with centers to anything. But no, Disney
- 57:52Speaker 3: spent six hundred and fifty million for twenty four episodes
- 57:55Speaker 3: of and.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Or Thank the Lord, Thank the Lord because it was
- 57:59Speaker 1: worth it.
- 58:00Speaker 4: But six hundred and fifty million. This is the same Disney.
- 58:04Speaker 3: That say, oh, we're not gonna do this movie, or
- 58:06Speaker 3: we're not gonna do this show, or we're not gonna
- 58:08Speaker 3: do this game or whatever it is. Right, there's there's plenty.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Of motherfucking money out there.
- 58:13Speaker 3: Anyone who tells you it ain't as fucking lying to you.
- 58:17Speaker 1: You had an article about that though.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, from Tony Gilroy. He actually he was on
- 58:25Speaker 3: A Q and A at a the ATX festival, and
- 58:28Speaker 3: he was saying how like they had to fight really
- 58:31Speaker 3: hard for that money and they were told like at
- 58:34Speaker 3: first that they were told like, oh, streaming is dead. Like,
- 58:37Speaker 3: you know, when they were doing they was doing season two,
- 58:39Speaker 3: they was like the executives or whomever was telling it
- 58:42Speaker 3: was basically like, you know, just giving him bad vibes,
- 58:44Speaker 3: just saying, you know, I don't know how this is
- 58:47Speaker 3: gonna go.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Oh, I don't.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Think this is gonna make it the way it needs
- 58:50Speaker 3: to make it. And it did, you know a critical acclaimed,
- 58:54Speaker 3: you know, praise all that stuff. But yeah, it took
- 58:58Speaker 3: six hundred fifteen million. And gil Roy said that he
- 59:03Speaker 3: never took any notes from Disney. So when we say notes,
- 59:06Speaker 3: we mean like a higher up we'll see see see
- 59:09Speaker 3: an episode or see the script, and they will give
- 59:11Speaker 3: notes about well you cannot do this.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Let me say, look, and they said the only notes
- 59:17Speaker 2: they ever got from Disney was I was getting there.
- 59:20Speaker 3: But but let me.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Say the fact that they I don't know how I like,
- 59:28Speaker 2: you see, I'm speech to the first second there, because
- 59:30Speaker 2: it's like there's so many levels to this ship that
- 59:32Speaker 2: I just don't understand how this show got made. Like
- 59:35Speaker 2: and this is one of those times where I really
- 59:37Speaker 2: wanted to say this too, because a lot of out
- 59:40Speaker 2: here hate on Kathleen Kennedy, right, a lot of people
- 59:45Speaker 2: spend their entire online lives and offline lives hating on
- 59:51Speaker 2: Kathleen Kennedy and demanding her head beyond the chopping block
- 59:55Speaker 2: at every other goddamn moment, and I, for one, have
- 59:59Speaker 2: all thought it was some nonsense. From the day she
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: was hired. I thought it was a nonsense. To this day,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I think it's nonsense. And this woman is responsible for
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: putting that six hundred and fifty million into Gilboy's pockets
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: so he can make what is one of, if not
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: the greatest television show of Walter. I don't like saying
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: it is the greatest, but it's one of them, you
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: know what I mean. In the story, it's top five
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: that are a lot in the story.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: And then one note you're referring to. It was actually
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: like he wanted in the first season. He wanted and
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: or whoever to say fuck the Empire.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Marva Marvra and her speech.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: We wanted he wanted one of the characters, Marv in
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: this case, to say fuck the Empire. And that was
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: the one thing that Dizzy was like, no, and can't
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: do that.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: That's where I want to say, this is like, that's
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: the other side of it where I just don't understand,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: because one, I don't understand Kathleen Kennedy or any studios
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: that giving anybody that.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Much money to do a show where they know they
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: know in they heart at heart you know what it was.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Yeah, you can feed that into the algorithm, and that's
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: just I'm a bad like nigga. She ain't making no money.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: You can feed that straight through a computers, say you
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: straight up. And they were right because it's critically acclaimed
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: and it did good. But it ain't like they hit
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: you know, or it's not like that. Yeah, it is not.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: It has no merchandising opportunities. There's none of that. There
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: ain't no cute shit in it where they can sell afterwards,
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: none of that. And they knew that going in. So
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: it's that and the fact that they don't have any
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: notes that said that, Like, let me tell y'all from
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: working on American Gods and a lot of other things
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: in Hollywood that y'all haven't made.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: We'll see or not see. Who knows.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Notes are a constant. Notes are like you just learn
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: to live with them and you every person adopts their
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: different way of getting through them, but they are constant
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: and sometimes they're absolutely bad shit and saying. I had
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: someone once telling me I want the characterization to be
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: like the nineteen seventies Superman cartoons.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: It was twenty twenty two.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: And I was, wow, I don't know what you mean exactly,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: you know, but I'm just trying to to eat that
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: and keep writing.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: And you know, like, yeah, well, Tony and them and
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: friends got away with most things except for this whole
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: the empire thing. They changed. They changed it to fight
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: the Empire, and it's.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Probably for the best because I didn't. I didn't think
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: that needed to fuck the empire.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: It felt weird, like really yeah, because One Star Wars
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: doesn't curse you remember that, So it's like, what you mean?
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: They said ship twice that was yeah, and that was it.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: And even those, even the ships felt a little unnecessary.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: It's just the word fuck. That's what's so big.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: It's just unnecessary. And also, fight the Empire is what
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: it's what it's stronger what I need. I don't that's
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: what I need to do. I don't need to you know, like.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Smash the empire. The empire, you know we had.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Fighting, Oh my gosh, that's that's that's fair.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Yeah, so you know, it just felt strong, and I
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: think that was a good note, you know what I mean.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: It probably didn't come from that place. It probably came
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: from we don't want you saying fuck on a Disney's
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: Star Wars show.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: But it worked out for the best.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: That's the only fact you get at the end of
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: the day this year. And this is completely different than
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: everything else that's on Disney Plus under the Star Wars
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: umbrella anyway. But like and or is just just an outlier.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Like there's there's nothing like this. There's there's nothing on
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: that streaming channel network, whatever you want to call it.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: There's nothing like it anywhere.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Like the only thing.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: I mean, there's a lot of great things about revolution, right,
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: you know, but this is one of the ones. Like
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: I talk about Athena r R. You know, you know,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: this is right up there with it, if not, I
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: mean to me, it's it's just one of the greatest
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: things that I've ever seen, our revolution. You know, I
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: need to see more things like this. Hopefully I will, because.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: God did well we need it right now, We need
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: it desperately, especially in a situation like I said, and
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: the dictator ship that we're living in right now, Ben,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: did you want to talk about your comments or did
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: you want to answer a question or two?
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Oh? All right, let's do some questions.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: Okay, So, as y'all know, we brought back the GUAC.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: The peeking Only Asked Question segment where we ask our
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: lovely fanfam and everyone listening any type of question you have.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: It could be about comments, it could just be about life.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: It could be some personal things you're going through. We
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: just want our advice. Whatever it is. Whatever you want
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: to talk about any topic, just ask and you know
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: we would we we might answer, right, so we I
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: can't even hold you.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: We might.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: We ain't gone.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: We probably will.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: We probably will.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: But you know it was agreed, just probably not.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: One of questions comes from AUDI got tho ADI got,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: they got, they gotto from YouTube. They right, what is
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: your favorite episode of the show, and by that gave
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: me four all nerds show They said, I have many,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: but I love the one where you two talk about
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Raising Dion. And they're like, ma, this maybe for those
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: who are longtime listeners. And I don't know if y'all
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: even know. I mean, this is years ago now, but
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: there was a show Raising Dion, which is a young
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Black Kid on Netflix, right, I think it was it
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: was like a it was originally like a short film.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: I think that was like a kickstarter became a Netflix series.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: It's about a young black boy could have been like
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: ten or something like that that he gets magic powers.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: And and I've recalled like like, yes, it was like
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: a kickstarter or something because I supported it, and it
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: was and it was like a comic book, it was something.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: It was something. Yes, it was a comic book graphic
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: novel that got turned into the Netflix series. So anyway,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: like I was a big support of it. Fantastic story,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: like Ben became a fan of it, really really good story.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: And then you know, fast forward to this Netflix series
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: and it didn't go the way we thought it would
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: just in terms of that and people would was just
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: like yo, we were so harsh on on the kid actor,
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: but that little boy was just loud and wrong and
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: just out of control, and it just did not fit
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: with what this story was about.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: It didn't fit with whatever was going on at any
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: given scene. My man was turned up to ten. No
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: matter what was going on, Nigga shuld be whispering, trying
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: to hide, hide, not real.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: And then like and then every episode he would be
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: like mah like yelling at his like, yelling for his mother.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: So that's where the main that probably one of my
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: favorites too.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I got through.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: I got through.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I got through.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: That's probably one of my favorites.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Two there, there's literally we've had hundreds of episodes now
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: hundreds of them, so we've been in the game for
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: ten years plus plus. Uh so not even are we
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: at a thousand episodes. We got to be at a
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: thousand at this point, maybe thousands at this point because
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: I know years ago we were at five hundred, so
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: we got to be at thousands at this point. And
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: I I don't remember.
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: Was the episodes. I think maybe people like Michael Kay Williams.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Yo, what's up? This is Michael Kay Williams. And you
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: were listening to four well really five all nerves. I'm
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: a nerd.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: Like when he was on that was that was incredible,
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: like moments that you know, either defined our us as
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: a show or or or movements that we helped bee
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: hear Oh love Craft Country. We was one of the
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: you know, the top podcasts about that, you know what
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: I'm saying, and how we had a lot of collaboration
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: with HBO, you know, stuff like that. Like we've had
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: a lot of like few things occur in our history,
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: I mean even more recently being invited to the African
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: American Museum of History and Culture. Like we spoke there,
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: we did a podcast episode there. I understand and like
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: it's don't I can't want it to just one show.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I would just say it's a culmination of experiences and
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: that there are some really bright experiences that iver you know,
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: same very well.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: And it's funny. A lot of mind comes from running
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: up on people.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: Yeah, God will know a lot like y'all don't know
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: the things we do to be getting these interviews sometimes.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Like uh, Juno Diaz, I ran up on him at
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: a book signing and told him about this and this
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: is like a moment and one of those things cause
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: I told him about what we did and he was like, Oh,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: you're just living to dream and I was like, no,
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: you're living a dream, you know, but he was he
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: and then he came on the show and said it.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: He's like, if I wasn't writing books, it's one of
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: the things I'd love to be doing documentary our culture,
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: you know. And I was like you know that's where
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: fire or like when I ran up on Damon lindelof
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: The Watchman after party and I basically screamed on him.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: It was like you need to.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Get this right, and he, you know, then came on
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: the show and we've been cool ever since, you know,
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: you know, Brian Fuller and Michael Green like you know,
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: which led to me and mellow working in Hollywood. So yeah,
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: it's been it's it's just a lot of you know,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: But then it's the like those episodes are like the
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: big ones and all those guests stuff, but it's like
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: all the all star reviews of anything.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Yes, I also reviews are just phenomenal, like when we
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: have that full house, you know, when it's like Rod
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: and Genisia and and and and like when we have
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: the crew and even like the new people show up,
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: like those are out of control, Taho, those are always
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: out of control.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I love them, Yeah, because I just love, you know, comedy,
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: and I'm a big fan of comedians and so being
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: around you know, funny and you know, like different people,
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: it's just always some of my best stuff. But then
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: it's like, yeah, all the interviews talking to different people
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: from like the smallest to the largest death. It's always
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: just getting people's different viewpoints. That's just something that we
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: I think we created the show to do. Was well,
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I know one of the these always say, like Recipece
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: of Combat Jack is that he would say about the
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Combat Jack show is that it's not a hip hop show.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: It's a show about showing people the pathways to success.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: And he would say that, you know, we show people
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: all these different lifestyles and all these different ways that
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: people live, and so people could find their own path
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: to success. And I feel like we continue that tradition
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: on the show by show you not just the actors
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: or the directors, but also the writers, the producers, you know, everybody, artists.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: I mean, you know down the line, we've just had
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: everyone on this show. And so that's been a big
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: joy of mine, and just showing people that success promes
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: in so many different forms. You know, success is how
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: you define it. And so I think that was and
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: then it just it's like the little shit man reading
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: questions from people you know, or like when people send
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: us artfelt letters and emails.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: It's all this type of stuff.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all one thing.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Yeah, all this and and just to reiterate that West part.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: He said, like, we read these things, right, so guess
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: there's a lot of stuff coming into the inbox, but
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: we read these things and we respond. You know, it
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: may take a while, but we do respond to so
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: you know, we I want people to know that, like,
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: you know, it's not just going into a black hole
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: like this stuff gets looked at and you know, and
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: contemplated and you know, as mentioned, ninety nine percent of
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: the time will probably respond, but you know they be
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: that one percent with y'all a wallin, but just saying
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: you know what I mean. There's one one question I
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: want to get in bend before we start getting towards
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: wrap up.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: It's a heavy one, but it's an important one.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: This one comes from Brandon y'all San They write, how
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: did you find what you wanted to do in your life?
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: I've had multiple jobs and had a few years making
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: money as a musician, but around twenty twenty one, I
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: just started losing interest in everything I was doing up
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: until that point. It's been four years and I still
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: can't find it. Let me start by saying this, I'm
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: not there yet. Brandon y'all song in terms of what
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: do I want to do. I have things I like
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: to do, but I don't think there's just one door.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: While I'm like, this is what I want to do
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: in my life, and that's the past. Some people have
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: that gift and know it early where they're like, I
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: want to be a fucking scientist, and they keep on
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: that path and that's all they fucking do. And is
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: is laser focus. I like to do a lot of
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: different things, and the stuff that I like to do
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: is an amalgamation of things, and it doesn't even exist.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: The job, the job I want, quote nquote doesn't exist.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: I want you know. I'm an executive, I'm a producer,
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: I'm a musician, I'm a podcaster.
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: I'm all of these things. But there's no one job.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: Or one thing that fits into that fits all these
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: things into a clean category.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: It's take has taken years of building our craft. It's
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: taking years of building experience. It's taking years of also
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: consistency too. Like I can I can say without a
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: shoutow of that, I am a podcaster, I am a producer,
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: I'm an editor. I know how to do anything because
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: I have years of experience and I have years of
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: honing the craft. I'm an interviewer, I'm a media professional.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: I've had years experience and years of horning craft because
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: of consistency. I know how to interview because of consistence
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: and see. And I think that's maybe one of the
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: ways you start finding if you feel like you're not
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: in a space where you don't know if it's your space.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: I think sometimes what's often missing is that level of
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: consistency that it's okay to try.
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: Different things and stuff, but like, if you find a spark, you.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Gotta drive through that, like you gotta you gotta stay
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: on that spark. And then it's going to get hard. Yeah, period,
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: it's going if you're doing it the right way. And
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: and this is important, if you're doing things around it,
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: it's gonna get hard. It's gonna be shit. You have
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: no idea what you're doing, and there's gonna be stuff
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: where you are trying and it's and it feels like
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: it's feeling or it feels like you're not getting nowhere.
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: But that's where the difference is.
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: You have to be consistent and keep doing it anyway.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Resting power to jazz fly do it scared. That's something
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: that's something she she a quote she she coined, and
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: I want the things I live by.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: You.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: You don't know how this is gonna go. I was
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: gonna feel do it scared. I'm not saying jump out
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: the window and go go chase your dream being a
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: paintball artist.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: Am I saying that.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: I'm saying you can do the things you want to
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: do within reason. Just just have some backups there too.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: You so may need to have that side job.
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: That's okay. I still got a full time.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: But I'm doing this because this is what I love,
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: and I'm being consistent and making the moves and building plans.
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: So I don't have to have the day job no more.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: I can do this. I would say this, Brandon, that
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: idea of I'm so humble that you think, at least
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: for me, that you think that I found what I want, Like,
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: I think it's still an ongoing journey. I don't think
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: it's just one destination that I've made it.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: And I made it.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: I found something that was passionate about, interested in me
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: and things that I thought I could grow in. And
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: doing this shit was not easy. It still isn't easy,
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: and some respects is not easy because it's still that
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: you have to learn and grow through. Like it was
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: literally just keeping consistent and keeping at it because this
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: is something that was important enough to me. So consistency
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: is my answer to that.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: I would second that part in consistency, and then I
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: would also second what you say about not all right now.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: With me, I was a bit different, but I'll get
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: to how I'm also the same. Like I grew up
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: very early on, like some of our earliest memories were
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: all around Star Wars, and from the time I can remember,
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: I knew who George Lucas was and he was my idol,
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: and I was like, that's what I want to do,
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: you know, make movies like this dude, you know one
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: day and then the other thing that very early on,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: I think because of Star Wars, I was also obsessed
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: with space and living in Houston, I was very close
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: to NASA, and so I was like, okay, I'm being
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: an astronaut and I don't know, I guess I was like,
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: I'll be an astronaut, then maybe I'll made movies. But
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: astronaut was very much and then the Space Shuttle blew
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: up and I was like, I'm good.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: And also I just also learned. I mean, it was
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: really personal, you.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Know, I was really yeah, you know, I'm much older
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: than Trauma. Yeah, I'm in there, et cetera. And also
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: I just realized how tough it is becoming an astronaut,
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: and I was like, I'm good, you know, I like
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: chilling the Way too much. So it was, you know,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: pretty much I was focused on making movies. I wrote,
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: you know, I thought about movies all the time. And
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: then around sixteen years old, I just randomly kind of
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: like I wanted to become a DJ. You know, it
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: was really random, honestly, like it's so weird. Like I
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: was watching music videos one night and I thought DJ
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Premiere looked so cool in one video, and then Mister
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Long and the Black Sheet video, and then honestly, you know,
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: the DJs I knew always had girls around them, so
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: that helped, and I was like, that's something that I need.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: So I just wanted to become a DJ. And I
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: had no musical training, no musical inclination. I've told this
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: story before. I couldn't snap on beat, I cannot one, two, three, four,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: just none of this. But I was like, fuck it,
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna be a DJ, you know, and consistency. I
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: bought some stupid cheap equipment, had a couple of stupid
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: cheap records that I've gotten something I've gone for free.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: And then I started spending every dollar I got on
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: fucking vinyl and buying more records and every minute I
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: have on just studying the craft. And then I went
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: to Howard and I met more DJs, and I just
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: from there it just became like I became a scientist
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: and shit, like just you know, absorbing it constantly. And
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: now it's like I'm kind of at the same point
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: you are, Brandon. Like I was supposed to drop a
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: new song that I produced on Monday of this week.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: It's now Wednesdays. Were recording this, I've not released it yet.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: I've actually been watching some videos about you know, building
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: a story in music as you're released stuff. So on
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: my okay, I'm gonna figure that out and to make
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: a few videos and I'm gonna release it probably by
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: Friday this week or Monday of next week at the
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: very latest. But it's the same thing where I'm sitting
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: there like, oh man, I'm working on all this music
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: at home, and I know it's pretty dope, but I
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: know the realities of you know, putting out music in
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: twenty twenty five and all this other shit, and it
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: becomes I'm like, what's the point and damn, you know,
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: why am I doing this? And I go through all
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: these things and I'm like, oh, I'm gonna be a
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: failure you know this, and that I have all these feelings,
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: but like it just it's natural. It is what it is.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: So I would say, yo, one, you know, let me
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: hear some of that shit you're working on, Like and yeah,
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: if you're like making money as a musician, man, that's
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: something like Okay. I learned this from Michael Green, right,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: who is a super you know, well established screenwriter. But
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: Michael once told me, like, Ben, if you were getting
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: paid as an author, I don't care how much you're
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: getting paid writing something. You were doing better than ninety five.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: Writing, you know what I mean? So bru, Like, if
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: you're getting.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: Paid the music, just like I DJ weddings, you know,
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: may need to make money right now. It's something I
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: don't always enjoy, but it pays well. And it's like
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: I've learned that. You know, sometimes you just try to
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: do the work. Yeah, you know, sometimes it's not gonna
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: be every gig. You're not gonna love, you know, but
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: you just try to put in that work.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: Brandon noted that they started losing interest in everything that
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: they're going up to that point, and I would say
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: that's also that's also that's an internal that's an introspective
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: point that you have to negotiate within yourself, right, and
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: you know, whether it's through therapy, whether it's through journal
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: like like some combination thereof, like you need to really
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: investigate that because that's important to understand yourself in that way,
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: like well why do I feel like this?
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: Yeah, And if it is on some music stuff like
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: where you're like not really inspired, I would say, you know,
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: you gotta find the inspiration, but also look at it,
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: like try and look at it in a different way.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: That's foot has helped me in my journey of music.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: Like when I.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Started, I was really like this is the video I'm
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: about Tati make. I want to talk about this journey
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: of like how I started producing music because I was
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: really getting driven out of my mind making I mean,
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: doing weddings all the time because I come from where
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: I was doing all kinds of ill shit as a DJ,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: you know, doing this party, that party, and then I'm
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: just doing weddings every weekend. It's like, oh my god,
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: this fucking ground all day and I'm getting driven out
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: of my mind. So I'm like, I gotta do something
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: to find this creativity again.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: So I started.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: Producing, you know, a house music and dance music because
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: it's the music that I love. And so then I'm like, okay,
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: I'm making some throat shit and I'm like, now I
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: got to put it out. So then I had somebody
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: who would mix my music, would engineer it for me,
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: and then they stopped engineering for a time. They wanted
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: to take a break. So I'm like, all right, fuck,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: you know, I gotta learn this. But it's like each
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: of these steps, when I learned things, it's changed my
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: viewpoint and it inspires me to learn more or to
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: do more. And then, of course, every time, like Tartanna said,
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: it's been a battle. You know, Like I start making
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: beats and I'm like, you know, ten of them are
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: whack and one of them are good. And now that
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: ratio has gotten better. And then I learned I start
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: trying to teach myself engineering. I'm like, oh my god.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: People spend years in school for this. What am I doing.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: I don't know shit, you know, but I sit down
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: and watching YouTube videos and I keep practicing. I just
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: keep working on it. And now it's to the point
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: where my joints are sounding pretty good. And I might
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: not know every little thing, but I know enough. And
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: it's like, you know, you just try to keep learning
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: and keep going. Like you said, consistency, man, that's the
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: it's the easiest and the hardest part of it all.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: Yeah. And just maybe the last thing I was thinking
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: about as Bema's talking was just do not compare yourself
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: to others, oh man. Not compare yourself to others in
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: terms of better you know, better or worse. Do not
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: compare yourself in terms of where you are in your
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: journey to someone else's journey. That is something that it
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: was a hard lesson for me, and I got it now.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: I got it now. It doesn't matter where that other
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: person is in their life, how it may look, how
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: far ahead, or how much they got it together. Day
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: journey is day journey, and your journey is your journey.
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: There is no particular time or date where you were
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: supposed to be having this or be in this particular place.
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: It doesn't work like that it does not work.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: That your journey is your journey, your life is your life,
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: and you got to center yourself and figure out how
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: do you feel and why you feel a certain way,
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: and you have to push forward.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: When I was incarcerated at one point in my life,
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I read a lot and one of the things I read,
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: this prote that always sticks with me is how do
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: you know that you are in the right place for
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: your spiritual growth at any given moment? Because you're in
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: that place you are you exist because as you're here
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: right now, this is where you.
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: Should Brandon y'all song, you exist?
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Yeah, right now? Yeah, wherever you are is that moment
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: that you should be for your spiritual growth. Now, whether
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: or not it's for what you want to grow in
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: is another question.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: That's a journey.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but your spiritual growth is what you're on this
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: planet for.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: You know, Well, that is all the questions.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: Better gonna have a lighter note part. You got to
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: ask their lighter note question.
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: Okay, fine, a lighter note. Who's your favorite hero growing up?
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: I mean, you know, Brandon, you know you We don't
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: want him to feel like he just brought us down,
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: But it's all up.
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: Why I didn't felt down. I felt empowered.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: But that's your boy, I feel great. Yeah.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: What's who's your favorite hero growing up? Minster Storm? Quick
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: answer this and get over it.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: No, but they weren't.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: I'll just you we just had a crush on. Yeah,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: but she might have been my favorite. If not her,
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: it's probably long Shot, but my favorites. Yeah, it's in
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: middle school. See I say long shot he was growing up. Yeah,
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: long Shot, definitely I love that nigga.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: Thank you, Brandon, thank you Adigato. Thank you to everyone
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: who's putting questions. We will answer more next time on
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: the next episode. As mentioned, If you have a question
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: for us, it could literally be about anything, whether it's

- 1:25:46Speaker 3: TikTok ig Blue Sky everywhere. Just make sure you do that.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean real quick. And I did want to
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: mention some of comic books, you know what I mean.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: It's been a minute since we brought back the Guac,
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: you know, might bring back I'm a side, you know,
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: since I've been talking about Jimmy Hendris Purple Hayes so much,
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: I did want to mention a few other joints that
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: I've been reading and shout out to the good people
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: at Stranger Comics, because they actually sent me this graphic
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: novel right here, Defiant the story of Robert Small's I
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: think you can see that on my screen right now,
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: beautiful graphic novel. I actually was at San Diego Comic
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: Con last year when Hindris debuted, and I walked by
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: this table and bought like the preview date, a preview
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: of this graphic novel, and like I got a pin
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: with it because I was like this shit fire, you know,
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: like they had a dope pen and a dope lit
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: up poster and everything, so all like okay, let me
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: check this out. And then randomly these people hit me
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: up on the emails like would you like the book,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: and I'm like, hell yeah, I got the previews, send
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: me the book. So Defiant, the story of Robert Small's
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: is about a former sel who joins the Confederate Army
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: during the Civil War and then basically flips it and
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: bounces it, gains his freedom, et cetera. I mean, my
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: man's name is Defiant, you know what I mean.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: You know, it's fine and written by whom the.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Full name is Rob Edwards. Art by Sean Damien Hill
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: and Alex Patterson. It's out now from uh sorry, Stranger Comics.
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and Stranger Commics is the same publisher that did
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: Naobi yep, so you know by Sebastian Jones Fire Art.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: Fire Story doesn't very much like it reminds it's in
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: the same vein of Big Jim and the White Boy
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: where it's like, you know, someone from the present is
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: telling this story about the pastenomenal. Yeah, yeah, and this
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: is like it's you know, vain, but different vibe. I'd say,
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: you know, than Bitch and the White Boys. But both
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: Fire books I was really impressed with. This didn't go
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: like there was like a moment where I thought it
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: was gonna go one way, and it went the other way,
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: and I was really happy that it went the other way.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: It's all all set and I like.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: The ark I'm looking at I'm on the Stranger comic side.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: I'm looking at all the other covers and stuff.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they got the one.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: I don't know if they did a cover for it,
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: but they had a preview copy of this post over
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: where they did Shaft Like it's like defiant like but
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: like the old Shaft movie.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Oh wow, okay, yeah it was fire you see it?
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yep, yeah that ship when I was
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: walked by that. Oh and I don't know if they
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: had a pin on there, but they have that pin
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: from that cover where he's shooting the gun. I've got
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: the pin, but it's like, damy, where can I wear
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: this black man shooting the gunn that's like the I
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: need the right occasion for that joint. But yeah, Firebook
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: definitely checked that out. And also very quick because this
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: one everyone is going to be talking about for some
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: time this week.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: From Marvel, Wow, The World to Come By.
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: The Legends, Christopher Priest and Joe Caseda, Who Cresada Cassada.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: I think Caresada Casda has not done like interior art
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: in like I don't know, ten fifteen years. He was
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: one of the biggest of all time in the late nineties,
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: early two thousands, and then he moved up to editorial
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: and I'm not sure if he's a Marvel's editor in
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: chief now but for a long No, he's not anymore,
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: but for a long time he was, so you know,
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: he got rich and chilled out.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: Basically, he don't need to do that art chill no more.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: So him coming back to do art is a big
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: thing because him and priests used to do Black Panther
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: back in the day. So this is the new book
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: The World to Come, Marvel Knights.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: It is. I'm not sure what exactly is.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: If it's an alternate world, alternate history of Wakanda, or
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: if it is supposed to take place in the six
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: one six, I'm not one hundred percent sure. But the
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: news is out the end of this issue. Spoil alert
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: for anyone who's living under a rock right now. And
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: this has been out for days, so it ain't really
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: that much, you know news. It's revealed that CHILDA has
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: a white son, blond hair and blue.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Eyed, white.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: Adoptive or is the son.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: It's a mystery, like this is called the World to Come,
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: and it employs like, what's that like a out of
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: order time sequence telling, like it starts off sixteen years
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: after the World to Come, as it says, it's like,
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: this is sixteen years after the World to Come, and
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: then it'll jump twenty eight years before the World to Come,
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: eight years before the World to come, eight years after
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: the World to Come. It never in the first issue
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: says what is the World to Come? What happened at
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: that moment where it becomes the World to Come? That
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: is not it's not like the death of T'Challa or
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: anything not. That's that's established, you know, because actually T'Challa
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: dies in another spoiler on the first second page as
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: an old man, you know, like twenty eight years after
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: the World's comes, it begins and o'challa passes away as
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: an old man on the throne. So what happens in
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: between is the story they're telling, you know, much like
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: how we all know that and Or is going to
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: die at the end of Rogue one. Yeah, spoiler, but
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: you know he is and and Or is still great
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: because you're learning what it makes his life, and that
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: is what you will learn this and also why t'chila
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: has a white son.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: I don't know. I've got some Yeah, it.
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: Is random essentially when you read the book, because throughout
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: the book that you know, Storm is mentioned, his marriage,
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: he marries Oro, she passes away. Well, I don't I
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: don't want spoil the whole goddamn book, but has mentioned
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: the Oor. I mean, his marriage to Storm is mentioned.
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: There's other Roma answers with another black woman, but there's
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: no you know.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: White women up in this joint as of yet. So
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: where white?
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: It was immate conception? Who knows?
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: But as Leonardo said, you know you have my attention.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: But now I'm intrigued.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: I can't lie. I got to that last page.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to make a short video on this
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: because I have a couple of theories as to who
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: this white boy is and you know why he's his son.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: But you know, we'll get more into that. I just
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: want to know what y'all think. Let me know.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: Please make sure you check out, at the very least
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: check out Defiant the story of Robert Small's from Stranger
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: Comments out now and everyone in their mama gonna be
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: talking about this world to see might grab you some
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: of that too, Yes, and also I know you're not
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: up to it. The latest but the latest issue of
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: The Power Fantasy just dropped this week.
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: And oh yeah I need to catch you need.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: To catch up. It's brilliant.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: Yeah, the latest issue is a big twist. There won't
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: be another issue till July. Time to catch up. Yeah,

- 1:33:29Speaker 2: I think I keeped that there's two bit shocking moments,
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: but the second one is the one people are fixated on,
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: and I think the first one is more important.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: But yeah, okay, well shout out shout out to and
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: Gillan on that.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: Yep, very well done.

- 1:34:42Speaker 4: her entire being.
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: Of being an adult that was able to do other
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: things for other people. She's always she's always gone above
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: and beyond for everybody else, and I think the least
