- 0:18thinking, and just bring some joy.
- 0:20Into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30If there was one thing that you knew you really wanted to do and
- 0:34you're not doing it, what would it be?
- 0:37Now, this can be a tricky question because you might be
- 0:40saying, well, Kim, is it like a thing to just go do, like I
- 0:44should go get a haircut? Or is it like a goal?
- 0:47And the question is it can be anything.
- 0:49It's just what's that one thing that you know, you really want
- 0:54to be doing that you're not doing that you're like putting
- 0:58off because you don't know the dreaded how that you don't think
- 1:02you have the support to do it. The the thing that you know,
- 1:05makes you like, oh, if I could have that, I would be so
- 1:09excited. Yet you're not doing what you
- 1:11need to do to get there. What is that one thing?
- 1:15And the reason I'm asking this is because, you know, over the,
- 1:20over the weekend, we've had some very challenging things going
- 1:23on. And Mark's dad is not well and
- 1:29he has congestive heart failure. And one of the things that I
- 1:33always think about when I'm presented with stuff like this
- 1:36is, yes, it's incredibly sad. And yes, we're all kind of
- 1:41putting ourselves in the head space for what's going on with
- 1:44this. That being said, there's also a
- 1:47part of me that says, what can I learn from this?
- 1:50What can I take away from this? What's the one thing that I want
- 1:54to make sure that I'm embodying in this other than sadness?
- 1:58Because I believe everything has duality.
- 2:00And I like to use everything as a duality so that I can not just
- 2:04take away, you know, the, the horribleness of it, but take
- 2:08away the other things, you know. And this is one of those big
- 2:12situations. So I started thinking, you know,
- 2:15life is short. What's the one thing for me that
- 2:19I'm not doing that I wish I was doing?
- 2:21And then I started like my brain started going on fire.
- 2:24And of course, you know, I've been sick.
- 2:26So being sick also adds something to it because I've had
- 2:30to be very relaxed. Let's say I, I couldn't be at my
- 2:36normal high speed pace and that slowed me down.
- 2:40So then immediately, as soon as I asked a question like that, my
- 2:44brain went off the rails and it started making a list of all
- 2:47kinds of things. And I'm not even joking.
- 2:49I ended up with like an 11 by 17 piece of paper filled two sides
- 2:54of all these little things that I still want to do in my life
- 2:59that I that I am pushing myself to, you know, not even just do,
- 3:06but observe like, and I don't mean pushing it in a negative
- 3:09way. I mean like I'm like really be
- 3:11like no holes barred. If you could do anything, what
- 3:13would it be? And really asking those deep
- 3:16questions and the paper is filled now which one am I going
- 3:20to take on immediately? Because I asked you guys for
- 3:23one. I didn't say have, you know, 2
- 3:26pages full. I said, what's the one thing?
- 3:29And I'm going to pull myself into a place where I look and I
- 3:32say, what's the one thing and work through those.
- 3:36I'm not going to ignore the others by any stretch of the
- 3:38means, but it just got me really thinking.
- 3:41And I said, you know, I really want to share this with
- 3:43everybody because I think it's important to pull back and to
- 3:46look and say, OK, is there a thing that I know I really want
- 3:51to do in this lifetime that I really want to do that I'm not
- 3:54doing? I remember my mom constantly
- 3:57telling me that she wanted to be a nurse or she wanted to be a
- 4:00hairdresser, 2 very different things, but neither of those
- 4:04ever came to fruition. And when I asked her, you know,
- 4:08you really, really wanted to do this.
- 4:10How come she never did it? And she said, well, you know, I,
- 4:13I got a job and I got into that job and it was a job for Texas
- 4:19Instruments. It wasn't like it was a career
- 4:21thing like a being a hairdresser or, you know, being a nurse.
- 4:27But she got into it and she never stopped doing it.
- 4:30And for me, that just, I think that may be a part of the drive,
- 4:34why I'm so driven to not miss out on those things because I
- 4:38know she missed out. And we used to encourage her to
- 4:41go back. My dad was so great about that.
- 4:43He's like, just go back to school, just go back to school.
- 4:45But she didn't want to do it in the sense that she wanted the
- 4:48outcome, but she didn't want to have to put in the time to do
- 4:52it. And I find that to be really
- 4:55sad. So I am breaking that cycle.
- 4:58I am pushing, I am figuring all these things out and I want you
- 5:01guys to do this with me. I'm throwing it out there so we
- 5:04are all on the same page with this and we're going to all say
- 5:08a prayer for Mark's dad and say, hey, you know what, We're all
- 5:14sending him good juju and hope that he takes a a different turn
- 5:19and comes out of this in the best state for himself.
- 5:24And at the same time, we're going to learn this lesson and
- 5:27say, you know, what are those things?
- 5:29So I hope you guys have a blessed day and I will see you
- 5:32all tomorrow. Bye.
