Just Stories Season 1 Trailer · Just Stories

Regina, how do you explain Just Stories to someone
• 0:04
who's never heard of it? Hmm. I'd say it's a
• 0:07
podcast about justice. Which is not exactly a
• 0:10
small topic. No. So naturally we did what everyone
• 0:14
does eventually. We started a podcast. We finally
• 0:17
caught up with the times. Exactly. Because justice
• 0:21
is complicated. When we say justice, we might
• 0:24
mean the criminal justice system, or racial justice,
• 0:28
or restorative justice. But sometimes justice
• 0:30
is much smaller than that. It can be about how
• 0:33
we treat another person, how we respond when
• 0:35
someone causes harm, what forgiveness asks of
• 0:38
us. And because we're at Goshen College, there's
• 0:41
another question we keep coming back to. What
• 0:43
does faith have to do with any of this? Sometimes
• 0:46
faith gives us a way forward, and sometimes it
• 0:49
makes the questions even harder. So I lit a cigarette
• 0:53
and I said, okay, okay God, okay, I'm just gonna
• 0:57
try to find you in it. We're Sisyphus, pushing
• 1:01
that rock up the hill and, you know, getting
• 1:04
run over by it. The atomic level of justice is
• 1:10
in human relationships. In Just Stories, you'll
• 1:16
hear stories from a judge wrestling with justice
• 1:18
and mercy. A former prisoner who found meaning
• 1:21
in math and scripture, a sociologist bringing
• 1:24
college students into prisons, and a pioneer
• 1:26
of restorative justice. Their stories, and many
• 1:29
more, are coming this season. We're not looking
• 1:32
for easy answers. We're looking for stories that
• 1:35
might help us see justice and each other a little
• 1:38
differently. I'm Rob. And I'm Regina. This is
• 1:42
Just Stories. Our first episode drops Thursday,
• 1:45
September 24th. Find Just Stories wherever you
• 1:49
get your podcasts. We hope you'll join us.
