A body was found in a home destroyed by the Gann Fire in Calaveras County, as authorities continue assessing wildfire damage that’s already claimed seven buildings near New Hogan Lake. One firefighter was injured in a bulldozer accident, but no other injuries have been reported. Evacuation orders remain active for areas east of the lake, with shelters open in Valley Springs and Avery—and the county fairgrounds housing displaced livestock.
