- 0:02The idea of a trinity of aspects or statuses of the Divine, has
- 0:06arisen throughout the major, religious, and spiritual
- 0:09traditions of the world. It is relatively easy to
- 0:13conceptualize this by looking at how we experience the world.
- 0:17We start with an individual perspective and reference life
- 0:21from that standpoint. Our interaction with the world
- 0:25provides a second aspect that of the universal creation of which
- 0:30we are a part and within which we participate The third aspect
- 0:35is the one that the upanishads reference when they try to avoid
- 0:38the limited definitions available to our mental
- 0:41framework. When they say it is not this,
- 0:45not that they are indicating that.
- 0:48We cannot fully Define the Divine with any specific
- 0:52categorization because there is always something that exceeds
- 0:56that definition and escapes, our ability to describe it.
- 1:01This is the Transcendent aspect the universal aspect they Define
- 1:06as all this is the Brahman, the individual is described.
- 1:11As I am, that taken separately, they fail to provide a complete
- 1:17understanding of the Divine, but taken together and unified, they
- 1:22bring us closer to the mental awareness needed.
- 1:26At the same time. No thought concept or idea is
- 1:30the same as the actual experience.
- 1:33And that is why the spiritual tradition speak of the need, for
- 1:37obtaining, the spiritual Oneness and the experience of unity or
- 1:41Transcendence. For your window observes, quote,
- 1:47the distinction between the transcendental.
- 1:49The cosmic, the individual Divine is not my invention.
- 1:53Nor is it native to India or to Asia?
- 1:57It is on the contrary a recognized European teaching
- 2:01current in the esoteric tradition of the Catholic Church
- 2:05where it is the authorized explanation of the Trinity
- 2:08Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. And it is very well known to
- 2:13European Mystic experience in essence.
- 2:17It exists in all spiritual disciplines, that recognize the
- 2:20omnipresence of the Divine in Indian vedantic experience and
- 2:25in Muhammad in yoga, not only the Sufi, but other schools
- 2:29also, the muhammadans even speak of, not two or three, but many
- 2:34levels of the Divine. Until one reaches the Supreme As
- 2:39for the idea in itself, surely there is a different between the
- 2:43individual, the cosmos and space and time.
- 2:47And something that exceeds the cosmic formula or any Cosmic
- 2:51formula. There is a cosmic Consciousness
- 2:55experienced by many which is quite different in scope and
- 2:58action from the individual Consciousness.
- 3:02And if there is a Consciousness Beyond The Cosmic infinite and
- 3:07essentially Eternal not merely extended in time that also must
- 3:12be different from these two. And if the Divine is or
- 3:17manifests himself in these three, is it not conceivable
- 3:21that an aspect and is working? He may differentiate himself so
- 3:28much that we are driven. If we are not to confound all
- 3:32truth of experience, if we are not to limit ourselves to a mere
- 3:36static experience of something indefinable to speak of a triple
- 3:41aspect of the Divine In the practice of yoga, there is a
- 3:46great Dynamic difference, in one's way of dealing with these
- 3:49three possible realizations. If I realize only the Divine is
- 3:54that not my personal self which yet, moves secretly in all my
- 3:59personal being, and, which I can bring forward out of the Veil.
- 4:04Or if I build up the image of that godhead in my members, it
- 4:09is a realization but a limited one.
- 4:13If it is the cosmic godhead that I realize losing in it all
- 4:18personal self, that's a very wide realization, but I'd become
- 4:23a mere channel of the Universal Power and there is no personal
- 4:27or divinely. Individual consummation for me,
- 4:32if I shoot up to the transcendental realization only,
- 4:36I lose both myself and the world in the transcendental.
- 4:40Absolute If on the other hand my aim is none of these things by
- 4:45itself. But to realize and also to
- 4:48manifest the Divine in the world bringing down for the purpose of
- 4:53yet unmanifested power, such as the super mind.
- 4:58A harmonization of all three becomes imperative.
- 5:01I have to bring it down. And from, where shall I bring it
- 5:04down since it is not yet manifested in the cosmic
- 5:08formula. if not from the unmanifest Transcendence, which
- 5:13I must reach in realize, I have to bring it into the cosmic
- 5:17formula and if so, I must realize the cosmic Divine and
- 5:22become conscious of the Cosmic Self and the cosmic forces, but
- 5:28I have to embody a here. Otherwise it is left as an
- 5:32influence only and not a thing fixed in the physical world.
- 5:37And it is through the Divine in the individual alone.
- 5:40That this can be done. These are elements in the
- 5:44Dynamics of spiritual experience and I am obliged to admit them.
