- 0:00Speaker 1: It's welcome everybody.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Welcome to this week's edition. This story on the show
- 0:20Speaker 2: EPISOD number seven or fifty seven for August eighteen, twenty
- 0:24Speaker 2: twenty four. Welcome to this week's edition of as RT.
- 0:29Speaker 2: You I am one after the show, I am Jeff
- 0:32Speaker 2: Pack joined every single week are Hoist Loly, Doctor Tray Franklin,
- 0:36Speaker 2: Doctor Tray. I know you may not feel this way
- 0:39Speaker 2: that I'd like to give you a title shot, my friend.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I mean, am I going into a gauntlet match? Or
- 0:47Speaker 3: is just because we're friends and I don't deserve it,
- 0:50Speaker 3: but you think I look pretty sweet with a beer
- 0:52Speaker 3: and a Jebby and a little bit of a beer gut.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I just think you deserve it. You may not feel
- 0:56Speaker 2: that way. I think you deserve it.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I mean, I'm just saying because we saw this on
- 1:02Speaker 3: like two different shows this week, whereas like, Eh, you
- 1:05Speaker 3: haven't really done anything, but I'll give you a title shot,
- 1:08Speaker 3: or Hey, I know you're not even on this Bram,
- 1:09Speaker 3: but I'll give you a title shot, or hey, we're
- 1:11Speaker 3: gonna give a chance to one of six people who've never.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Had a title shot. Who knows.
- 1:15Speaker 3: It's like Oprah, everybody's getting a title shot, whether you
- 1:17Speaker 3: deserve it or.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Not, let's get into it, my friends. We talked about
- 1:21Speaker 2: the end of last week's show. It was bleeding in
- 1:24Speaker 2: and out of a lot of the things that we
- 1:25Speaker 2: were talking about in regards to Cody Rhodes, in regards
- 1:29Speaker 2: to Bailey and I simply put does w we have
- 1:33Speaker 2: a creative problem booking their World champions And as we
- 1:36Speaker 2: talked about here just now on the top of the show,
- 1:40Speaker 2: we were interested in the direction of Cody Rhodes heading
- 1:43Speaker 2: into Bash and Berlin. We were thinking maybe Cody and
- 1:45Speaker 2: Roman tag together to take on Solo and Tematunga Tungaloa.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Obviously they keep Jacob Fatu. Instead, they went to Cody
- 1:54Speaker 2: Rhods versus Kevin Owens. Because Cody Roads simply wants to
- 1:57Speaker 2: give Kevin Owens a time shot. Kevin Owens doesn't think
- 2:01Speaker 2: he deserves it. They threaten to give it to Roman
- 2:04Speaker 2: Reigns and then he was like, all right, I'll take it, basically,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and now that is the match at Bash in Berlin,
- 2:10Speaker 2: Gunther is defending his World Away Championship against a SmackDown
- 2:14Speaker 2: star Because of the King of the Ring folly back
- 2:18Speaker 2: in May, where Randy's shoulders weren't pinned. I actually like
- 2:22Speaker 2: that a full disclosure right now. I actually like that
- 2:25Speaker 2: they're circling back around in this. How they got there
- 2:28Speaker 2: is kind of iffy, but I liked that they got
- 2:30Speaker 2: back around to it. We discussed Bailey's in title title
- 2:35Speaker 2: entire title run as the WA Women's Champion kind of
- 2:39Speaker 2: falling short a little bit, being a little bit inadequate.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Doctor Trey just pointed out the NXC Women's Championship. They're
- 2:45Speaker 2: gonna have a I think a six woman gauntlet match
- 2:48Speaker 2: for people who have never had a championship title match
- 2:51Speaker 2: in their entire time in NXD this Tuesday's edition of NXC.
- 2:56Speaker 2: If you look at the women's title on Raw the world,
- 3:00Speaker 2: uh huh, what is it? The Women's World Championship on
- 3:04Speaker 2: Raw Live in Rhea. That makes a ton of sense.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I love the way that they booked that. But looking
- 3:10Speaker 2: at the grand scheme of things now, Doctor Trey and
- 3:13Speaker 2: we'd even see Naya on Friday's edition of SmackDown to
- 3:15Speaker 2: follow up up on SummerSlam. As now she is the
- 3:19Speaker 2: WA Women's Champion. I simply put in and out of
- 3:22Speaker 2: the show last week. Does w we have a creative
- 3:25Speaker 2: problem booking the world champions. I still think they do,
- 3:28Speaker 2: because some of the hottest feuds outside of Rhea and
- 3:32Speaker 2: Live Morgan right now all involve no championships whatsoever. What
- 3:37Speaker 2: say you, my friend, We've had a week to think
- 3:39Speaker 2: about it.
- 3:41Speaker 3: See if this, if this conversation had been say pre SummerSlam,
- 3:46Speaker 3: I would have appreached a little more patience because typically
- 3:50Speaker 3: WRESTLEMANI is the culmination of all the rivalries, a year
- 3:55Speaker 3: long build up, and then we start fresh. But we're
- 3:58Speaker 3: post SummerSlam, and at this point usually you've kind of
- 4:02Speaker 3: started to build the next hot guy to kind of
- 4:06Speaker 3: come up to challenge the champions, and we really haven't
- 4:09Speaker 3: done it. And like we're talking about last week, you know,
- 4:13Speaker 3: when you have a guy like Gunther, who on his
- 4:15Speaker 3: own show is maybe the fifth or sixth most over
- 4:18Speaker 3: guy on his show, and he's the world champion, it
- 4:22Speaker 3: makes anything he does right now, unless he's competing against
- 4:25Speaker 3: one of those other top five guys, is going to
- 4:27Speaker 3: be down the ladder. When you have Cody, who is
- 4:30Speaker 3: arguably the face of your company, and you said last
- 4:34Speaker 3: week that you felt he is the face of the company.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Now he's going to be overshadowed by Roman and you
- 4:39Speaker 3: don't have a hot heel to put him with. You
- 4:42Speaker 3: have to make weird pivots I mean. And this ties
- 4:44Speaker 3: into the Bailey stuff because even when Bailey won the title,
- 4:48Speaker 3: her first few was her first match was really with Naomi,
- 4:51Speaker 3: kind of the same thing we're seeing with Cody and
- 4:53Speaker 3: Ko where it's like, hey, I'm going to give you
- 4:56Speaker 3: an opportunity even though you really haven't done anything since
- 4:59Speaker 3: you've been back, to deserve this.
- 5:02Speaker 5: I don't know if it's a creative issue.
- 5:03Speaker 3: With champions or just a creative issue with building other
- 5:08Speaker 3: heels up to kind of like a heel without a
- 5:11Speaker 3: group or a faction or something that's where Hey, whether
- 5:14Speaker 3: it's the old school way, we need the monster of
- 5:16Speaker 3: the Month club, or we need the next devious guy,
- 5:20Speaker 3: or we need somebody, but really there's an issue with
- 5:24Speaker 3: just heels.
- 5:25Speaker 4: In WWE as a whole.
- 5:28Speaker 3: And when your roster's loaded with a lot of top
- 5:31Speaker 3: babyface guys, you kind of need somebody for those guys
- 5:34Speaker 3: to fight, and right now we just don't have anybody.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yeah, It's it's a really interesting thing that's going on
- 5:41Speaker 2: right now. I kind of think when you look at
- 5:43Speaker 2: the SmackDown side, then the way that Cody Roads has
- 5:45Speaker 2: been booked. I've been very adamant that coming out of WrestleMania,
- 5:50Speaker 2: I have not been the biggest fan of the Cody
- 5:53Speaker 2: Roads booking. I like the stuff with AJ Styles, The
- 5:57Speaker 2: Logan Paul match for Saudi Arabia was just to appease
- 6:00Speaker 2: the Saudi Arabian audience. The stuff with Solozaka, the bloodline
- 6:05Speaker 2: that made sense going in SummerSlam, coming out of it
- 6:07Speaker 2: again now Bash in Berlin, it's like he's he's stagnant,
- 6:11Speaker 2: and I think that there are easier ways to go
- 6:14Speaker 2: and say we're gonna put Kevin Owens in this match,
- 6:17Speaker 2: other than just saying I want to give you a
- 6:19Speaker 2: title shot. Like I thought, that was very very strange,
- 6:23Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. I mean, how do you not do a
- 6:25Speaker 2: number one contenders match, How do you not have Kevin
- 6:27Speaker 2: Owens versus Solo, versus AJ Styles versus La Knight, whomever,
- 6:32Speaker 2: or do a little mini tournament to build to Bash
- 6:35Speaker 2: in Berlin so that Kevin Owens comes off that he
- 6:37Speaker 2: does deserve this opportunity. I think Owen's just saying he
- 6:42Speaker 2: doesn't deserve it and kind of you can't disagree with
- 6:47Speaker 2: him in a sense because the way that he's been
- 6:49Speaker 2: booked and he's gotten a lot of losses lately, it's
- 6:54Speaker 2: just it's just strange. And again, I didn't know if
- 6:57Speaker 2: it was a Cody problem specifically, but I I think
- 7:00Speaker 2: it's a World Champions problem right now. And it's almost
- 7:04Speaker 2: like WDWI has booked so heavily into the Bloodline storyline
- 7:08Speaker 2: that they are focusing on some of that and the
- 7:10Speaker 2: World titles taking a back seat on Raw. Maybe Punk
- 7:15Speaker 2: Drew McIntyre is leading the charge ahead of stuff with Gunther.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Certainly you saw that kind of play out in the
- 7:20Speaker 2: segment this past week. I mean there's so many different directions,
- 7:24Speaker 2: Like I get doing the orton gun through match, but
- 7:29Speaker 2: I would have liked to got in there other than
- 7:31Speaker 2: him just coming out and challenge him to a match
- 7:32Speaker 2: and Yaomi won, Like I would have loved. Bronson Reid
- 7:36Speaker 2: took out Seth Rollins two weeks ago, Great Bronson Reid
- 7:39Speaker 2: took out Our Truth this week. Great put Bronson Reid
- 7:43Speaker 2: in the match with Gunther, Like Gunther's gonna enter Berlin
- 7:46Speaker 2: as the hometown favorite, Like put him in there against
- 7:50Speaker 2: the heel Bronson Reid and make Bronson look great and
- 7:55Speaker 2: Gunher delivers in a great match. Gunher gets a victory,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but Bronson looks still pretty strong. That what made sense
- 8:01Speaker 2: to me. It just I feel like we're in a
- 8:04Speaker 2: stagnant time for w William. We're just kind of in
- 8:08Speaker 2: a holding pattern right now for bigger stuff that's going
- 8:10Speaker 2: to take place down the line, for Cody Rhodes, for
- 8:14Speaker 2: Gunther whomever. At this point.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, like let's just looking at a SmackDown and
- 8:21Speaker 3: we not only we have the Cody giving you know,
- 8:24Speaker 3: Ko the match, but if you want to see the issue,
- 8:27Speaker 3: you have the brand new United States Champion and the
- 8:29Speaker 3: first person that they bring up to have him to
- 8:32Speaker 3: have challenge him is Santos Escobar. Like, that's your number
- 8:37Speaker 3: two singles heel right now, that's not in the bloodline,
- 8:40Speaker 3: Like that's the number or is he the number one heel?
- 8:44Speaker 3: I mean, that's your number two title. That's your hot
- 8:47Speaker 3: baby face United States Champion. And the first person you
- 8:50Speaker 3: have him pair off Agains is saying, now, that's not
- 8:53Speaker 3: a knock on Santo's as a performer.
- 8:55Speaker 4: It's just that.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Really since the LWO and you know, went the wrong,
- 9:00Speaker 3: like Santos really hasn't done much, and then it just
- 9:03Speaker 3: feels like they don't keep their heels as strong unless
- 9:09Speaker 3: it's Gunther Like the whole thing with Bronton. Reid's great
- 9:13Speaker 3: for the last two weeks, but where was this for
- 9:16Speaker 3: the previous six months that he's been on the show,
- 9:19Speaker 3: Like they just really have a hard time building up
- 9:22Speaker 3: heels unless they're part of a faction, and then for
- 9:24Speaker 3: some reason it's like we have to do faction against faction,
- 9:28Speaker 3: Like legitimately, you just let Bobby Lashley.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Walk out the door? How great would Bobby Lashley and
- 9:34Speaker 5: Cody b for Berlow?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Wowint Man, you.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Know something like that, Like you weren't doing anything with them.
- 9:40Speaker 3: You could have resigned them even for a short term,
- 9:43Speaker 3: put them in this angle. And these guys have history
- 9:45Speaker 3: from God forbid hena Impact game, so it wouldn't even
- 9:49Speaker 3: be like a first time match like this is something
- 9:51Speaker 3: that happened in Impact, so like there's some history there
- 9:54Speaker 3: as well. But otherwise what are you going to do? Like,
- 9:57Speaker 3: like how how does this whole thing play?
- 9:58Speaker 5: Like this? Cody Ando is just a filler until.
- 10:03Speaker 3: We get more bloodline drama to add Cody to the
- 10:06Speaker 3: mix or Kao does something else, or you know, it's
- 10:09Speaker 3: just it's very confusing when you look at that ross
- 10:12Speaker 3: and you're like, Okay, well AJ's not doing anything right now,
- 10:14Speaker 3: so he's not available. He could have cycled at least
- 10:17Speaker 3: that backup to give Cody something to do.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You want all last fails break Aj styles glass.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, in case of emergency, you know.
- 10:26Speaker 3: And but just the fact that you know Carmelo Hayes,
- 10:30Speaker 3: you know that we could have revisited that and you
- 10:32Speaker 3: could have helped build Carmelo up at least in the meantime,
- 10:35Speaker 3: or Carmelo in La Knight. You know, like there's just
- 10:38Speaker 3: a heel issue in WWE outside of maybe the bloodline
- 10:43Speaker 3: Gunther and Drew in a little bit and now Finn,
- 10:47Speaker 3: but really maybe raws just too loaded. I don't know
- 10:52Speaker 3: what the fix is because they just SmackDown's done a
- 10:55Speaker 3: great job with the bloodline stuff, and you know, the
- 10:57Speaker 3: La Night Logan Paul stuff was pretty decent. But really,
- 11:00Speaker 3: you look at that show from from top to bottom,
- 11:02Speaker 3: they're just every champion feels stagnant. The tag team divisions
- 11:06Speaker 3: feels stagnant, Women's division feels stagnant. It is just the
- 11:10Speaker 3: whole to me that there's more of an issue with
- 11:12Speaker 3: that show than really anything else.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And the other thing, too, is if you're in a
- 11:17Speaker 2: holding pattern right now, then what I would be doing
- 11:20Speaker 2: or what I'd like to see as a wrestling fan
- 11:23Speaker 2: is elevating new stars. And you may hate me for
- 11:26Speaker 2: this idea, but as we were talking about it, Doctor Trey,
- 11:29Speaker 2: I could get behind Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens being
- 11:32Speaker 2: in a match with a world title on the line.
- 11:34Speaker 2: But why don't you add maybe Grayson Waller and Austin
- 11:38Speaker 2: Theory in there. You make it a fatal four way.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Those two guys have had like this weird quasi. They
- 11:42Speaker 2: may not They may be breaking up soon in Austin
- 11:45Speaker 2: Theory may becoming a babyface. Uh, Grayson Waller may becoming
- 11:48Speaker 2: a heel. I think the Grayson Waller heel run has
- 11:51Speaker 2: a lot of upside to it if they execute it
- 11:54Speaker 2: rather soon. I think he has a lot of upside
- 11:56Speaker 2: to be in an uppercard, mid main event level picture
- 11:59Speaker 2: as a really really good heel. And Austin Theory is
- 12:03Speaker 2: a babyface. I don't know if I could get behind that,
- 12:05Speaker 2: but that would be interesting. Like you do a match
- 12:08Speaker 2: where Cody and Kevin Owens are all of a sudden
- 12:10Speaker 2: they have a running with atown down under behind the
- 12:13Speaker 2: scenes in the backstage area, and that leads to a
- 12:15Speaker 2: match on SmackDown which then gets blown apart in a
- 12:19Speaker 2: double disqualification, and they decided to make a fatal four
- 12:23Speaker 2: way match at Bash and Berlin for the toddle on
- 12:25Speaker 2: the line, and you're using Kevin, you're using Cody'd helped
- 12:28Speaker 2: elevate Austin theory, and Grayson Waller is as legitimate heels
- 12:33Speaker 2: on the SmackDown brand. That would be something new and different.
- 12:36Speaker 2: It really seems to me that I felt like the
- 12:40Speaker 2: direction was going to be Randy and Cody coming out
- 12:43Speaker 2: of SummerSlam, and I think that may have been where
- 12:47Speaker 2: the tee leaves were heading. But with the stuff going
- 12:49Speaker 2: on with Judgment Day on Raw, with the stuff going
- 12:52Speaker 2: on with Bloodline on SmackDown, they had to change things
- 12:55Speaker 2: around a little bit, because, as you pointed out, you know,
- 12:58Speaker 2: it's not just the heel problem on the SmackDown side
- 13:00Speaker 2: outside of like the major storylines, We're having that problem
- 13:03Speaker 2: on Raw as well. And I wonder, just talking out loud,
- 13:06Speaker 2: doctor Trey, I wonder if the seth rollins injury, so
- 13:11Speaker 2: he's he's injured and it's only gonna be a short
- 13:13Speaker 2: period of time. I wonder if that has played a
- 13:15Speaker 2: role into it where they had to change things around.
- 13:17Speaker 2: That almost makes sense, as I'm talking out loud, that
- 13:21Speaker 2: could have changed things up a little bit and made
- 13:24Speaker 2: gun Through go this way with Orton from SmackDown and
- 13:26Speaker 2: then made Kevin Owens go with Cody Rhoades like I don't.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I mean, these matches at Bash and Berlin are gonna
- 13:33Speaker 2: be solid, They're gonna be a lot of fun. I
- 13:34Speaker 2: think the feud build is gonna be decent. It's just
- 13:37Speaker 2: how we got there coming out of SummerSlam. It's like, uh,
- 13:40Speaker 2: how do we do this? So it just it just
- 13:43Speaker 2: leads creed into the discussion we had on last week's
- 13:45Speaker 2: show We're caring over right now, is do they have
- 13:48Speaker 2: a creative problem booking their world champions Because outside of
- 13:53Speaker 2: some you know, really good storylines that may have had
- 13:57Speaker 2: a world title involved for a little bit or not,
- 14:00Speaker 2: whether it be the bloodline, whether it be Judgment Day,
- 14:02Speaker 2: it's like Cody on his own kind of mediocre stuff
- 14:05Speaker 2: right now, Gunther on his own very very short term
- 14:10Speaker 2: is a little mediocre right now. I thought that they
- 14:13Speaker 2: helped elevate that a lot this past Monday where they
- 14:16Speaker 2: integrated the punk Drew McIntyre stuff in there. I think
- 14:19Speaker 2: you saw Gunther backstage really pissed off with Randy Orton
- 14:22Speaker 2: and everything that took place. Like, I liked that. Now,
- 14:26Speaker 2: this is the tried and true discussion we always said
- 14:30Speaker 2: to have. It reminds me of Ray Mysterio in two
- 14:32Speaker 2: thousand and six, Ray finally climbed the mountain, won the
- 14:34Speaker 2: world championship Freddie Garrow who had passed away months earlier,
- 14:38Speaker 2: and then his world title run was kind of boring.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Fans lost interest into it. The biggest thing that was
- 14:43Speaker 2: going to play a major part in Cody Rhodes is
- 14:46Speaker 2: once they finished the story, where do they go from here?
- 14:49Speaker 2: And I know he said, well, the story's never finished,
- 14:51Speaker 2: but I think in the eyes of the minds of
- 14:54Speaker 2: the fans eye it is, so where do they go
- 14:57Speaker 2: with Cody from here? Is really really interer. It's it's
- 15:02Speaker 2: a challenge and I do not envy the creative team
- 15:04Speaker 2: right now.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, especially if if you know the old
- 15:08Speaker 3: saying was when WrestleMania, and you're already kind of putting
- 15:12Speaker 3: the next year's WrestleMania card in place, and if on
- 15:15Speaker 3: that card you're looking at, you know, let's just say
- 15:18Speaker 3: Cody and Rock like you're trying to get to that,
- 15:22Speaker 3: you know, or something like that. Like it's really hard
- 15:26Speaker 3: to backfill everything in for a year because obviously you
- 15:30Speaker 3: want Cody to have a decent run with the title.
- 15:33Speaker 3: You're hoping you don't have to take it off of
- 15:35Speaker 3: him between now and WrestleMania. But you know, at the
- 15:38Speaker 3: same time, you have to kind of go like, here's
- 15:40Speaker 3: our here's our roster, here's our our pecking order. We
- 15:44Speaker 3: need to make sure that this thing stays pretty even
- 15:47Speaker 3: between the heels and baby faces.
- 15:48Speaker 4: And we've seen that.
- 15:50Speaker 3: You know, you and I have been doing this show
- 15:51Speaker 3: for a very very long time, and we've seen times
- 15:54Speaker 3: like this where somebody gets hot and you feel like,
- 15:56Speaker 3: oh crap, he has to go be a baby face,
- 16:00Speaker 3: and it throws off the entirety of the show because
- 16:03Speaker 3: you don't have that balance, you don't have strong babyfaces
- 16:06Speaker 3: and strong heels. It feels overloaded from.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Time to time.
- 16:10Speaker 3: So it is kind of just you know, a machination
- 16:15Speaker 3: of the machine where you know, all of a sudden
- 16:17Speaker 3: you just flip Damien Priest to a babyface and then
- 16:22Speaker 3: you know, you know, Gunh. You're trying to keep Gunther
- 16:25Speaker 3: getting booed, so you have to put them with a
- 16:26Speaker 3: strong baby face. In Berlin, if you put it with
- 16:29Speaker 3: a Bronton read, then the crowd's gonna cheer for him,
- 16:31Speaker 3: and then the American crowd might think that, oh crap,
- 16:34Speaker 3: we like Gunther too now, and then Gunther ends up being.
- 16:37Speaker 4: A weird baby face.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Like you kind of have to be careful because of
- 16:41Speaker 3: how you put guys together because the crowds. Crowds are fickle,
- 16:45Speaker 3: to use an old Daniel Bryant saying, crowds are very fickle.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Uh So, just depending on your booking, the whole thing
- 16:52Speaker 3: can turned around. Because I don't really think them getting
- 16:56Speaker 3: to where they got with Damian Priest was the plan
- 17:00Speaker 3: until the crowd started to get behind him, and then
- 17:03Speaker 3: oddly enough he starts wrestling more and more like Undertaker.
- 17:06Speaker 3: So I don't know if that was the case or not.
- 17:08Speaker 3: But the strap's coming down and everything else is very reminiscent,
- 17:11Speaker 3: but it's just maybe poor short term planning to try
- 17:17Speaker 3: to get to the long term storyline sometimes where stuff
- 17:20Speaker 3: like this happens.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they got a problem. I think David
- 17:23Speaker 2: always a creative problem booking their world champions right now.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I mean, the Bronson Reid short term build should not
- 17:28Speaker 2: be better than Gunther, and I know it's two different things,
- 17:31Speaker 2: and it's like it perks mind just a lot more
- 17:33Speaker 2: when they're getting bronze and read over versus Gunther, But
- 17:36Speaker 2: Gunther I think should be built better in a very
- 17:40Speaker 2: short period of time as a new world champion than
- 17:42Speaker 2: Bronson Reid. And the same thing with like bron Breaker.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I mean the build for bron Breaker on Rod's been
- 17:46Speaker 2: really really good. Yet gon Thor was like a way
- 17:49Speaker 2: off television for several weeks getting ready for SummerSlam. So
- 17:54Speaker 2: it's all very interesting and it's just funny that this
- 17:57Speaker 2: kind of like fell into our laps a little bit,
- 17:59Speaker 2: just conversation and then literally that SmackDown the night after
- 18:04Speaker 2: our podcast. It was like, Kevin, I want to give
- 18:07Speaker 2: you a title shot. No, I don't want to take
- 18:09Speaker 2: your title shot. Well, I'm going to go talk to Adam. Adam,
- 18:12Speaker 2: I want to give Kevin a title shot. I think
- 18:13Speaker 2: that's a great idea. Cody Kevin's like, I don't want
- 18:17Speaker 2: the title shot, Well, then we're going to give the
- 18:19Speaker 2: title shots to Roman. Well then I'm going to take
- 18:20Speaker 2: the title shot. He doesn't deserve it. Okay, We've got
- 18:23Speaker 2: our Matchum Passion Berlin and I'm like, what, Like, were
- 18:27Speaker 2: they listening to the show and they were like, we
- 18:28Speaker 2: want to give these two guys that do a little
- 18:30Speaker 2: wrestling podcast some more fodder on their on their show
- 18:33Speaker 2: the following week, because I know they mentioned at the
- 18:35Speaker 2: end and here we are, So yeah, there's definitely created
- 18:38Speaker 2: a problem with booking the World Champions. I just is
- 18:41Speaker 2: it the title or is it the individual doctor try Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 3: By the way, why the hell was it Adam Priest
- 18:50Speaker 3: on SmackDown.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Excuse me nick All this? I said. I meant to say,
- 18:54Speaker 2: nick All, this my apologies.
- 18:56Speaker 5: I was like, I got thrown off for my apologies.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yes, but yeah, it's to me.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I don't know if it's there's a problem with booking
- 19:08Speaker 3: World Champions when you don't have anybody lined up dicks
- 19:11Speaker 3: and maybe they thought the stuff.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Maybe they thought.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Roman was going to be away longer and they had
- 19:16Speaker 3: planned to do a couple of things with Solo because
- 19:19Speaker 3: to me, actually the whole Solo Roman thing felt a
- 19:21Speaker 3: little rushed. It felt like because for a while it
- 19:24Speaker 3: was the whole like I was talking to Roman, I'm
- 19:27Speaker 3: the tribal chief while he's gone, and then all of
- 19:29Speaker 3: a sudden he just turned. It was like, basy f Roman.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Roman was weak. It's like when if this happened, it
- 19:35Speaker 3: just came out of nowhere. So I don't know if
- 19:37Speaker 3: it was we were going to do Solo and Cody
- 19:39Speaker 3: for a couple of shows, and then Roman was able
- 19:41Speaker 3: to come back earlier, and so it changed the booking
- 19:44Speaker 3: as well for this because if you got Cody and
- 19:47Speaker 3: Solo for a couple shows like for summerslamb Berlin, and
- 19:53Speaker 3: then the following month then Roman returns leading into Survivor series,
- 19:58Speaker 3: that timeline would have made more sense.
- 20:00Speaker 5: But instead, to me.
- 20:01Speaker 3: That whole Loveline thing kind of came out of I
- 20:05Speaker 3: don't say that out of left field, but it happened
- 20:07Speaker 3: a lot sooner than I expected it too.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Agreed. I agree. So, yeah, it's interesting times for the
- 20:14Speaker 2: creative team. We often praise them lately, but you got
- 20:17Speaker 2: to point out when it's like a little bit confusing
- 20:19Speaker 2: as well, and I think they're in a very weird
- 20:21Speaker 2: time and I think they'll get I certainly believe they
- 20:24Speaker 2: will get to a great spot. But right now, in
- 20:26Speaker 2: the dog days of summer, there's a little bit of
- 20:29Speaker 2: like head tilt a little bit when it comes to
- 20:31Speaker 2: certain people in their storylines and they hold world titles,
- 20:34Speaker 2: and it's like, I think they're got a problem book
- 20:36Speaker 2: in the World champions right now, because that's certainly how
- 20:38Speaker 2: it looks like, because if Judgment Day is outperforming and
- 20:42Speaker 2: I know Live and Really have a world title in there,
- 20:44Speaker 2: and that is a case that is where they are
- 20:46Speaker 2: not having a creative problem. But I think that is
- 20:49Speaker 2: a grander scale of everything. And yeah, it's it's just
- 20:54Speaker 2: really strange. So the number one contender for the World
- 20:58Speaker 2: aweight Championship on Raw is SmackDown's own Randy Orton. He
- 21:02Speaker 2: had a sit down interview with Cody Rhoads for his
- 21:05Speaker 2: new YouTube show like something to talk About or what
- 21:10Speaker 2: the hell is the thing that Cody always says, what
- 21:13Speaker 2: do you want to talk about? And they brought up
- 21:16Speaker 2: John Cena's retirement run and he said he wants one
- 21:19Speaker 2: more run with John Cena. He said, John is kind
- 21:23Speaker 2: of like going in an organic way of of how
- 21:25Speaker 2: this has all got to take place, but he thinks
- 21:27Speaker 2: he's got to get there at some point. And when
- 21:29Speaker 2: you look at John Cena's career, like I think the
- 21:34Speaker 2: rock to his Austin is Randy Orton, I think there
- 21:38Speaker 2: are people out there that will make the case that
- 21:40Speaker 2: edge is in there as well, and I would agree,
- 21:43Speaker 2: But those two guys were the flag bearers for the company,
- 21:48Speaker 2: you know, in the early to mid two thousands till
- 21:52Speaker 2: the mid twenty tens, Like those were the two guys
- 21:55Speaker 2: that were running the show. And I think Randy mentions
- 21:59Speaker 2: in the clip that I watch that I know at
- 22:01Speaker 2: times it was like being shoved down fans throat and
- 22:04Speaker 2: it was like too much and people were getting sick
- 22:06Speaker 2: of it. And I was like, oh yeah, I remember
- 22:07Speaker 2: those times where it was like we're getting another Randy
- 22:09Speaker 2: Orton John Cena match on Raw, We're getting another Randy
- 22:12Speaker 2: Orton John Cena match on a pay per view. But
- 22:15Speaker 2: it's like nostalgia tells me Doctor Trey that I would
- 22:18Speaker 2: love to see one more run. And when I think
- 22:20Speaker 2: of people, I would love to see Johnson have a
- 22:23Speaker 2: little mini feud with a match with There are people
- 22:26Speaker 2: saying that they want to see this at WrestleMania. I
- 22:29Speaker 2: personally would have see him punk in there as well,
- 22:32Speaker 2: but I think it's I think it's Randy Orton, doctor Trey.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So do we want to see Randy Orton have one
- 22:39Speaker 2: more run in twenty twenty five with John Cena for
- 22:41Speaker 2: old time sake? Uh?
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I would be opposed to it.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I mean between the YouTube thing with Cody and then
- 22:48Speaker 3: the little promo back and forth with Gunther and him,
- 22:51Speaker 3: you know, bringing up fifteen times and stuff like that.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I mean, fourteen times going to be fifteen times all
- 22:57Speaker 3: that stuff like in twenty years in the company, Like
- 23:02Speaker 3: Randy can still go and Sena can still pretty much go.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I know the last match we saw him in was
- 23:09Speaker 3: the solo match and then you know the Austin Theory match.
- 23:12Speaker 3: But you know, Scenic can can pump it up. I
- 23:15Speaker 3: think what he feels like he has to pump it up,
- 23:17Speaker 3: so you know, to have one more run with those guys,
- 23:21Speaker 3: a little bit of the one instead of what was
- 23:26Speaker 3: the one?
- 23:26Speaker 5: The one and done with Rock and then actually became
- 23:29Speaker 5: the second one?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Was they was eight and twenty nine I was at
- 23:33Speaker 2: twenty nine, but twenty eight was the one and only
- 23:35Speaker 2: match or whatever.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Yeah, but once in a life.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Until we do it the next year.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 4: But I mean, you know, and then we had the.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Best wrestling match ever with Randy and Edge. I mean,
- 23:47Speaker 3: we could do something like Sena and Norton Last Time
- 23:49Speaker 3: Ever type thing. Yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and that has a lot of credence to it, right,
- 23:54Speaker 2: that's a lot of build I think fans were being
- 23:56Speaker 2: clamoring for.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, and I think for the guys in
- 24:00Speaker 3: the fans in their late twenties, early thirties that kind
- 24:04Speaker 3: of grew up on the Sena Ordon era, like, I
- 24:07Speaker 3: think they'd be all on board for it, and I don't.
- 24:09Speaker 4: I wouldn't be a poser.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'd love if somehow Randy did win the title and
- 24:14Speaker 3: then that match with Sena would be for Sina to
- 24:17Speaker 3: break the Flair record or you know, for Randy to
- 24:21Speaker 3: hang on to it.
- 24:23Speaker 5: You know.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I know this is a little side thing here, but
- 24:26Speaker 3: I was thinking about this this this week as I
- 24:28Speaker 3: was watching Raw and Smack Down everything else, Like Orton
- 24:32Speaker 3: twenty years in the company, you know, fourteen world titles.
- 24:35Speaker 3: But I don't know if at any point in the
- 24:39Speaker 3: twenty years he.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Was the guy.
- 24:41Speaker 3: And I don't know if there's anybody else that has
- 24:44Speaker 3: that kind of resume where it's like the guys and
- 24:49Speaker 3: you know, arguably Mount Rushmore, you know, arguably top ten
- 24:53Speaker 3: all time, but was never the guy in WWE. So
- 24:58Speaker 3: that's like he maybe he's the best. I don't want
- 25:01Speaker 3: to say this, it sounds hurtful. Maybe Grandior is the
- 25:04Speaker 3: best B plus wrestler of all time.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I think to me, Doctor Trey, that Sina was Hogan,
- 25:10Speaker 2: Orton was Savage.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but even Savage well did any.
- 25:15Speaker 2: But Orton had a similar run there, like when Sina
- 25:17Speaker 2: was away or they would put the title on Orton
- 25:20Speaker 2: and let him be the face for a while. There
- 25:22Speaker 2: was a period of time where they tried to he
- 25:25Speaker 2: was one of the hottest baby faces at a period
- 25:26Speaker 2: of time I think was after I think it was
- 25:28Speaker 2: twenty ten, Like when we first started the show, he
- 25:30Speaker 2: was super over as a babyface. And I've always maybe
- 25:36Speaker 2: like the rock to the Austin I think on the
- 25:38Speaker 2: rivalry side makes sense, but I think when you look
- 25:41Speaker 2: at their like the Ladder of w WA, I felt
- 25:44Speaker 2: like Sina's Hogan, Orton's Savage.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Orton is kind of a victim of Sena's longevity.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Would that be an accurate way of stating.
- 25:53Speaker 2: It in a way, But it was around so long
- 25:57Speaker 2: each person, but each person made the other one better.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Like I think they obviously they ran that few down
- 26:05Speaker 2: our throats. But I think when you look at some
- 26:07Speaker 2: of the greatest rivalries in professional wrestling in the last
- 26:10Speaker 2: twenty five years, I mean longevity wise, importance, how they
- 26:16Speaker 2: carried the company, how they carried the business, what they
- 26:19Speaker 2: did for the future. I mean I think it's Sina Orton.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I mean I like you said, like I
- 26:26Speaker 3: love the Hogan Savage comparison. I just I was the
- 26:30Speaker 3: thinking about it, Like I was, like, I don't remember
- 26:32Speaker 3: a time when Randy was the face of the company.
- 26:37Speaker 3: You know, it's always like there was Orton, but even
- 26:40Speaker 3: I mean there was Seena. But even when Orton would
- 26:41Speaker 3: get hot, you had Batista right there as well. For
- 26:44Speaker 3: a little while, Batista was the face of the company.
- 26:47Speaker 3: So like it just Randy falls in that weird crack
- 26:50Speaker 3: where because of you know, seen his longevity and how
- 26:54Speaker 3: long Sena was on top four, it kind of pushed
- 26:56Speaker 3: Randy down a little bit. And made him and we
- 26:59Speaker 3: talked about like rand maybe the bet one of the
- 27:01Speaker 3: best soldiers of all time when it comes to wrestling,
- 27:03Speaker 3: much like Jericho was. It's just was like man, twenty years,
- 27:07Speaker 3: fourteen world titles, and I just don't know if I
- 27:09Speaker 3: could ever say that there was a period of time
- 27:12Speaker 3: like it was never for a year where Orton was
- 27:16Speaker 3: the guy, like it was always in short bursts.
- 27:19Speaker 2: But I mean, to be fair, like Randy was, he's
- 27:22Speaker 2: a better heel, Like he's great now because he's like
- 27:24Speaker 2: completely being himself and he doesn't give a shit and
- 27:27Speaker 2: the fans are embracing him in that sense. I think
- 27:29Speaker 2: I think everybody sees the riding in the wall, even
- 27:31Speaker 2: though I think Orton just signed like a five year
- 27:32Speaker 2: contract I'd read the other day like an extension, Like
- 27:35Speaker 2: everybody see, but this could be his last contract. In
- 27:38Speaker 2: all honesty, I think a lot of people see and
- 27:40Speaker 2: just appreciate what Orton has done. I mean, Orton can
- 27:42Speaker 2: turn heel tomorrow, and I think fans will still be
- 27:45Speaker 2: happy with him. Like even when he was doing stuff
- 27:47Speaker 2: with Edge, people were still like, oh man, this is
- 27:50Speaker 2: some of the best Randy Orton stuff. It was like
- 27:52Speaker 2: when Sina won the United States Championship back in sixteen
- 27:55Speaker 2: seventeen whenever. That was during the SmackDown Live era, and
- 27:58Speaker 2: we were sitting here no sooner than that. It was
- 28:01Speaker 2: like fourteen fifteen when he faced Kevin Owens, and we're like,
- 28:04Speaker 2: I think this is the best we've seen of John Cena.
- 28:06Speaker 2: And it's because they were out of the world title
- 28:08Speaker 2: picture and you were just kind of appreciating their en
- 28:11Speaker 2: ring stuff. They weren't the a player, they weren't the
- 28:13Speaker 2: person that's in the main event every single night, and
- 28:15Speaker 2: you were just watching them work and you're like, damn,
- 28:17Speaker 2: scene is good. And I feel like that's how people
- 28:19Speaker 2: have been with Orton for like the last ten years now.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know, we talked about this a coop
- 28:25Speaker 3: weeks ago, like if Orton did try to turn heel
- 28:27Speaker 3: at any point, I think the fans will still just
- 28:29Speaker 3: cheer for him because.
- 28:30Speaker 4: He's in that I don't know what.
- 28:33Speaker 3: I don't know if there's anybody else who's been like,
- 28:35Speaker 3: you know, we did get that SNA love the last
- 28:39Speaker 3: couple of years, but it was basically gonna be kind
- 28:40Speaker 3: of went part time for a guy like Randy right now,
- 28:43Speaker 3: who's basically been back for about a year since he's
- 28:46Speaker 3: been back maybe a little over a year since return
- 28:49Speaker 3: of the injury, like he can do no wrong and
- 28:52Speaker 3: he's he I think it's weird because you see him
- 28:54Speaker 3: and you're absolutely right, like he's just having fun and
- 28:56Speaker 3: not giving a crap and the fans eat that up.
- 28:59Speaker 3: But it's like I think he he recognizes that he's
- 29:03Speaker 3: not it's not so much borrow time, but this is
- 29:05Speaker 3: like a second second life for him right now in
- 29:08Speaker 3: this run where it was never guaranteed that he was
- 29:11Speaker 3: gonna come back from those injuries, and he's just like,
- 29:13Speaker 3: I'm just gonna have a blast with it.
- 29:15Speaker 4: I'm gonna have fun.
- 29:16Speaker 3: And the line that he used with GUNTHERER there and
- 29:19Speaker 3: I where he was like I got five kids and
- 29:21Speaker 3: a smoke show wife at home, Like that was him
- 29:25Speaker 3: saying I could quit tomorrow and I'm fine, but I
- 29:29Speaker 3: love this too much and you can see it, and
- 29:31Speaker 3: I think, right, like you're absolutely right, Like I don't
- 29:32Speaker 3: I don't think, you know, short of I don't know
- 29:35Speaker 3: if there's a baby face on the roster that he
- 29:37Speaker 3: could attack or the crowd would kind of turn, you know,
- 29:39Speaker 3: And I think of even if he turned on Cody,
- 29:42Speaker 3: it would be kind of like Becky and Charlotte, where
- 29:44Speaker 3: when Becky turned on Charlotte to turn her heel and
- 29:47Speaker 3: the crowd was like, Nope, we like her more. I
- 29:49Speaker 3: think it'd be going with the same thing if Randy
- 29:51Speaker 3: did turn on Cody in the next few months, that
- 29:53Speaker 3: the crowd would just be like, no, we still like
- 29:55Speaker 3: Randy Moore, so yeah, we'll just boom Cody instead.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I think they eventually get there, and I think the
- 29:59Speaker 2: way they get there's just like a respect thing between
- 30:02Speaker 2: the two of them. I do not think it's like
- 30:03Speaker 2: a turn from Reindeor and I would be surprised by
- 30:06Speaker 2: that because I think we see that way too much
- 30:09Speaker 2: in wrestling nowadays, where there has to be like this
- 30:11Speaker 2: personal animosity turn, and I think it's gonna be more
- 30:14Speaker 2: of a respect thing. Should we get to orton Cody,
- 30:17Speaker 2: which I think we eventually do by years en, I
- 30:20Speaker 2: feel like that is the few that carries Cody into
- 30:22Speaker 2: like rumble in regards to Raindort and something I was
- 30:26Speaker 2: thinking about too, if you look from two thousand and
- 30:28Speaker 2: two to about like twenty twelve, I don't think he
- 30:32Speaker 2: was ever the guy because the company could not trust him.
- 30:36Speaker 2: And this is stuff that's like really well documented. I
- 30:38Speaker 2: remember it was like talking about in his A and
- 30:39Speaker 2: E biography and it's twofold. One is something that he
- 30:43Speaker 2: had no control over. He was getting injured often. He
- 30:45Speaker 2: had the shoulder issues and he was getting hurt, he
- 30:47Speaker 2: had the back problems. And then the second thing was attitude.
- 30:51Speaker 2: His attitude was piss poor. Whenever they put him in media,
- 30:53Speaker 2: it was like he was a complete dick, admittedly. And
- 30:56Speaker 2: then the last thing was is addiction to painkillers. I mean,
- 31:01Speaker 2: he was suspended multiple times. He was one suspension away
- 31:05Speaker 2: from being fired by w W. So I think he
- 31:08Speaker 2: was never the guy doctor Trey. And this may be
- 31:11Speaker 2: forgotten about from a business standpoint when Sena was on
- 31:13Speaker 2: top because the company could not trust him to carry
- 31:16Speaker 2: that torch like they may have wanted to when Sina
- 31:20Speaker 2: was in and out of the company, or they needed
- 31:22Speaker 2: a refresh of John Cena being at top for a
- 31:25Speaker 2: little bit.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that was just one of the things where when
- 31:27Speaker 3: you watch that promo, Gunther, I'm like, man, you a
- 31:30Speaker 3: fourteen time World CHAMPI there's not a lot of guys
- 31:33Speaker 3: above six, you know, and those guys who above were
- 31:37Speaker 3: up above six have like maybe Edge was never the
- 31:42Speaker 3: guy in WWE, but outside of that, everybody else who's
- 31:46Speaker 3: had that many runs, at least at some point was
- 31:50Speaker 3: the focal point of the show for an extended period
- 31:53Speaker 3: of time, maybe outside of Randy and and like I said,
- 31:56Speaker 3: maybe Edged to a degree as.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Well, Doctor Trey. There are people out there, and this
- 32:00Speaker 2: is a podcast in itself, so I don't want to
- 32:02Speaker 2: get too deep into it, but there are people out
- 32:03Speaker 2: there that will say that Triple H was new for
- 32:06Speaker 2: the guy either.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Yeah, except that I can go back and say that
- 32:09Speaker 3: run he had with Flair, Batista and Orton, that was
- 32:15Speaker 3: his time to be the guy.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Like, but he was a heel. He wasn't like I
- 32:18Speaker 2: think people look at the guy. I see. That's what
- 32:20Speaker 2: I mean, Like this could be a podcast. I think
- 32:23Speaker 2: people look at the guy as being like a babyface
- 32:26Speaker 2: like Codeina.
- 32:28Speaker 3: But Flair was the guy in NWA and he was
- 32:31Speaker 3: the heel with the Horseman.
- 32:32Speaker 2: I think people would argue that though. I think they
- 32:34Speaker 2: would say that that Dusty was the guy and Sting
- 32:37Speaker 2: was the guy.
- 32:39Speaker 3: But you know, I still look at it as like
- 32:42Speaker 3: the guy that you're making the money off of or
- 32:43Speaker 3: the people you're either coming to see win or you're
- 32:47Speaker 3: paying money to come see then get their off kicks.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Was Piper the guy during the run with Hogan?
- 32:52Speaker 4: No, it was still Hogan.
- 32:53Speaker 2: See. I mean that's the thing I feel like. Yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 2: I mean it's a Ying and a Yang deal. Again,
- 32:57Speaker 2: this could be talked about it.
- 32:59Speaker 5: People were coming.
- 33:00Speaker 3: More people are paying money to see Hogan get his
- 33:02Speaker 3: ass kicked than they were paying to see Piper do
- 33:05Speaker 3: the ass kicking. Like we all want to see Piper
- 33:07Speaker 3: kicking Hogan's ass, but more because we hated Hogan more
- 33:11Speaker 3: than we love Piper that more.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Sena Orton. Does it happen during the retirement run?
- 33:18Speaker 4: Yeah? I think it does.
- 33:19Speaker 3: I think you have to do. I think you'll see
- 33:21Speaker 3: like Sina with a couple of the young guys and
- 33:23Speaker 3: then cut with a couple of the stall warts, uh
- 33:27Speaker 3: that he's had history with. I think you'll get sena
- 33:30Speaker 3: Orton and you'll get a scene a punk, but you
- 33:31Speaker 3: also might get Sena bron Breaker, you know, Sena Gunther.
- 33:36Speaker 2: I think sena Orton happens as well, and I think
- 33:38Speaker 2: it happens at WrestleMania Doctor Try.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the one thing I will say, thank
- 33:45Speaker 3: Gods in here because that would be the world title match.
- 33:49Speaker 4: That'd be It would be a world title match.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I don't think if one of those guys would be
- 33:52Speaker 2: comfortable with that at this point, but yes, I can
- 33:54Speaker 2: understand that perspective. Keeping up with WWE here we did
- 33:59Speaker 2: not talk about on last week's show with everything going on,
- 34:01Speaker 2: but I want to talk about on this week's show.
- 34:03Speaker 2: The Wyatt Six, Joe Gacy, Eric Rowan, and Exll Loomis
- 34:07Speaker 2: made their en ring debut on last week's edition of Raw.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Ten days ago. They defeated American Maid, the Creed Brothers
- 34:14Speaker 2: and Chad Gable.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Is.
- 34:18Speaker 2: What is your thoughts on the n ring debut and
- 34:21Speaker 2: their run so far early on Doctor Trey, Because I
- 34:25Speaker 2: gotta admit, I don't think it's as going as well
- 34:28Speaker 2: as I thought it was going to go.
- 34:30Speaker 3: I thought their in ring performance was really really good,
- 34:34Speaker 3: Like I love that each one of the guys, and
- 34:37Speaker 3: this may be something I don't know if everybody picked
- 34:39Speaker 3: up on or everybody did pick up on it. I
- 34:41Speaker 3: really didn't get on social media much afterwards to kind.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Of see the feedback play. Every single one.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Of the guys did something that was either Bray or
- 34:51Speaker 3: Brody you know, whether it's Gaycy upside down or littlemis
- 34:55Speaker 3: doing his little slide thing. But that's very reminiscent. And
- 34:58Speaker 3: even you know Rowan doing the shout out to Brody
- 35:01Speaker 3: Lee as well. I like that part. I think the
- 35:04Speaker 3: issue that you run into with this group, and this
- 35:07Speaker 3: is something we've talked about the past, is when you
- 35:09Speaker 3: have a group, or you have somebody who has their
- 35:16Speaker 3: character is tended towards the dark side, that it's really
- 35:20Speaker 3: hard for them to be believable babyfaces because they don't
- 35:23Speaker 3: have obstacles to overcome.
- 35:24Speaker 4: It was always one of the.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Issues with you know, Taker when he was fighting smaller guys,
- 35:28Speaker 3: which was like they needed a group or they needed
- 35:31Speaker 3: to be you know this, you know, some underhanded way
- 35:34Speaker 3: for you to feel like Taker could lose that match.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Otherwise he had to fight.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Big guys his side with a group like the Ya six,
- 35:41Speaker 3: which outside of Rowan, none of them are giants. I mean,
- 35:45Speaker 3: Loomis is a tall guy, Casey's dick, but like you
- 35:49Speaker 3: just you have to feel like they have obstacles to
- 35:52Speaker 3: overcome to cheer for them, and I just don't know
- 35:55Speaker 3: if that's the ways to me, like, when you have
- 35:57Speaker 3: characters like this, they're better being portrayed as as eels.
- 36:01Speaker 4: But must we talking about Randy Orton.
- 36:03Speaker 3: I don't know if fans could booth the Wyatts or
- 36:07Speaker 3: the Whitat six with the history of the Wyatt family
- 36:11Speaker 3: being like the direct lineage.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it I think the thing I like the
- 36:16Speaker 2: end ring stuff. I thought that was good, and I
- 36:18Speaker 2: thought they did a good job of kind of like
- 36:20Speaker 2: address seeing that they're not gonna have like these supernatural
- 36:23Speaker 2: powers type stuff like we saw in the beginning. The
- 36:26Speaker 2: thing I'd like to see a little bit more dout
- 36:27Speaker 2: Trey Is. I thought the obviously the Uncle Howdy bo
- 36:31Speaker 2: Dallas and Eric Rowan vignettes were really well done. I
- 36:36Speaker 2: was left wanting more with Joe Gacy, Dexter Loomis and
- 36:40Speaker 2: Nicky Cross. Did you feel that way?
- 36:44Speaker 3: Yeah, because I wanted Loomis to and I don't and
- 36:47Speaker 3: I don't remember the video over Bayman saying with Jaycy's
- 36:50Speaker 3: but like I wanted Loomis to lean in more into
- 36:54Speaker 3: him being abandoned by the way and by Andy Hartwell
- 36:59Speaker 3: and hell. I mean, now that we have TNA talk,
- 37:02Speaker 3: you can talk about how he was abandoned by TNA,
- 37:04Speaker 3: you know, and that's what led him to where he's
- 37:07Speaker 3: at now. Saying with Joe Gacy, like he had his
- 37:11Speaker 3: family that he had started to build, much like Bray
- 37:14Speaker 3: Whyatt built his and then his whole family abandoned him
- 37:17Speaker 3: in NXT and then how Uncle Howdie found him, Like
- 37:21Speaker 3: you want to kind of feel for these guys and
- 37:23Speaker 3: feel a connection and that understanding of abandonment, and that's
- 37:29Speaker 3: how they got to where they're at now. And I
- 37:30Speaker 3: don't think they did a great job with Loomis and
- 37:33Speaker 3: Gaycy and Nicky Cross and that I mean, Nicky's been
- 37:36Speaker 3: abandoned by everybody in WWE literally like herl like they
- 37:41Speaker 3: fired her husband, her best friend's gone, Like they've done
- 37:44Speaker 3: all this crazy stuff with her, and I just wanted
- 37:46Speaker 3: some more of that. I think they did a great
- 37:48Speaker 3: job with Bo and with Eric. I just don't think
- 37:51Speaker 3: they did a great job with the other three members.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and I just feel like they're it's kind of
- 37:55Speaker 2: like stop start a little bit with the Wyat sex.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with the American Made feud.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I don't know if that's done now, but i'd liked
- 38:04Speaker 2: I would have liked to see more integration with them
- 38:06Speaker 2: heading in the SummerSlam. I thought they should have been
- 38:07Speaker 2: on the card somewhere somehow, some sort of segment even
- 38:12Speaker 2: and I'd like some sort of clear, concrete plan with
- 38:15Speaker 2: them going forward. And it's very funny, God rest his soul,
- 38:20Speaker 2: but we loved bray Wyatt. And one of the big
- 38:23Speaker 2: things that we always complained about when it came to
- 38:25Speaker 2: bray Wyatt, whether he was The Fiend or his final
- 38:28Speaker 2: run in we was like the way he was booked
- 38:32Speaker 2: was like you see him for a couple of weeks,
- 38:34Speaker 2: a couple of months, he'd go into a match at
- 38:37Speaker 2: a peri view, then he woul disappear for a while,
- 38:39Speaker 2: and that kind of booking never was good. And it's
- 38:43Speaker 2: it's like, you know, we talked about earlier they have
- 38:46Speaker 2: issues with a creative problem with with the World Champions.
- 38:48Speaker 2: It's like, do they have a creative problem with booking
- 38:50Speaker 2: anything whet, whether they're supernatural And it's it's eerily reminiscent
- 38:55Speaker 2: to me as a fan watching at Home to the
- 38:58Speaker 2: way that The Fiend was was was booked in the
- 39:00Speaker 2: way that bray was booked. Towards the end of his
- 39:02Speaker 2: fun to run with the company.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and lovely is it's there used to be the
- 39:07Speaker 3: old story. It's really hard to book.
- 39:10Speaker 4: Babyface giants like you think of. You know, we always
- 39:13Speaker 4: joke about Big.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Show and how many times they flipped them back and forth,
- 39:15Speaker 3: because it's really hard to book somebody that the crowd
- 39:19Speaker 3: can kind of, you know, cheer for if they're bigger
- 39:23Speaker 3: and badder than everybody else, because there's no they don't
- 39:27Speaker 3: show a flaw. There's one of the reasons why people
- 39:29Speaker 3: had a hard time cheering for Sena, you know, for
- 39:32Speaker 3: a long time, because he was Superman. It was hard
- 39:34Speaker 3: to beat Superman. It's hard to beat Hulk Hogan in
- 39:36Speaker 3: his era. It's hard to beat the Undertaker as well.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Like you have to feel like there's a chance for
- 39:42Speaker 3: these guys to be defeated. And that was the issue
- 39:46Speaker 3: was with the issue that I had with the Fiend.
- 39:47Speaker 3: I love the Fiend character, but he was almost unstoppable
- 39:52Speaker 3: and when he did lose you and I was like,
- 39:53Speaker 3: what the hell?
- 39:54Speaker 4: That made zero sense?
- 39:55Speaker 5: A La Goldberg.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Beating the Fiend like you you almost have to make
- 40:01Speaker 3: them heels just because they're so overpowered or they're so dominant.
- 40:06Speaker 3: They need to slip up for them to lose. If
- 40:10Speaker 3: a babyface slips up, we treat him like he's a
- 40:13Speaker 3: dumb ass. So it's really hard to book characters like
- 40:17Speaker 3: this for long term, especially if the crowd loves them.
- 40:22Speaker 3: It's just like, well, what game, Like, what group could
- 40:24Speaker 3: you throw up there right now against the Wyat six?
- 40:26Speaker 3: And you're just like, all right, there's a chance they
- 40:29Speaker 3: might get their asses. Kids, There's really not one. I mean,
- 40:32Speaker 3: we just saw the Final Testament get beat up by
- 40:34Speaker 3: one guy last week, you know, the blood line. Outside
- 40:39Speaker 3: of that, there's not really a heel faction that you
- 40:41Speaker 3: can look at and go, yeah, those guys could take
- 40:44Speaker 3: the Wyat six. I mean, and dear God, typically I
- 40:48Speaker 3: love faction nicknames. But American Made Jeff, you know me,
- 40:56Speaker 3: That's all I wanted to hear. I just want to
- 40:57Speaker 3: hear them change the word mail to maids.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Like American made.
- 41:04Speaker 3: American made its.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Scottie Riggs and Buff Bagwell will show up in weird
- 41:10Speaker 2: overalls with nineties glasses on and clapping above their heads.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Not gonna like seeing Jack Gable in Paris this week.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I got Scottie Riggs and Buff Bagwell vibe from him
- 41:21Speaker 3: walking around in.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Paris, American males Uh switching gears to AW and what
- 41:26Speaker 2: kind of quasi awnwe Uh? There are several reportedly current
- 41:30Speaker 2: AW stars that are contemplating and jump to w W.
- 41:34Speaker 2: You've got the Luca Bros, pent and Ray Phoenix that
- 41:36Speaker 2: are reports out there that Pents be in Orlando, that
- 41:38Speaker 2: there's been discussions with WA already, that there's been a
- 41:41Speaker 2: contract offer for both Penta and Ray Phoenix to join WI.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Uh.
- 41:46Speaker 2: There's the belief that Ricky Starks, once his AW deal
- 41:49Speaker 2: is up, will be in W and Daniel Garcia, which
- 41:52Speaker 2: at one time seemed like a foregone conclusion that he
- 41:54Speaker 2: was going to be re signing with the company. They
- 41:56Speaker 2: ran the angle where MJF took him out basically because
- 42:00Speaker 2: his contracts coming up in October so he could return.
- 42:03Speaker 2: What do you if he were signs with the company
- 42:05Speaker 2: as like this huge hero or he was written off
- 42:08Speaker 2: for good that now Daniel Garcia is reportedly conflicted about
- 42:11Speaker 2: leaving W W or W for W A W four
- 42:14Speaker 2: w W, Penta and Ray seemed to me, Doctor Trey
- 42:18Speaker 2: that they are W bound Ray Phoenix. Excuse me, Ricky Starks.
- 42:22Speaker 2: It seems to me that he is w bound. Daniel Garcia,
- 42:26Speaker 2: I think he stays with AW. But your thoughts here
- 42:28Speaker 2: on some of the names that are contemplating leaving AW
- 42:32Speaker 2: for WE reportedly.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I mean, what else can can Pena
- 42:37Speaker 3: and Ray Phoenix do in AW? I mean short, I mean, obviously,
- 42:40Speaker 3: I don't think either guys, you know, a world champion challenger,
- 42:45Speaker 3: so I think they've kind of maxed out with the CAN.
- 42:47Speaker 5: I think pens is one of those.
- 42:48Speaker 3: I think Penta is one of the best in the
- 42:50Speaker 3: world of kind of recognizing what his ceiling is in
- 42:53Speaker 3: a company and knowing when to get out before stuff
- 42:57Speaker 3: goes really south. I mean, they're they're in a comfortable
- 42:59Speaker 3: spot there. I mean, you can put him in WWE,
- 43:02Speaker 3: and and you know that helps spice of the tag
- 43:04Speaker 3: team division. They know that WW can market mass wrestlers
- 43:09Speaker 3: very very well as well, so that that to me
- 43:11Speaker 3: seems like a logical spot. The Ricky Starks thing, I mean,
- 43:14Speaker 3: dear God, I mean, the guy's literally trained the Nightmare
- 43:16Speaker 3: Factory and in Jake Cargill's posting stuff about it, so
- 43:20Speaker 3: that one seems like for gone.
- 43:21Speaker 4: But Daniel Garcia one is interesting because you know.
- 43:24Speaker 3: If you had asked me a year ago, I would
- 43:26Speaker 3: have said there's no way he's going to w W E.
- 43:28Speaker 3: And then he had this this run where he was dancing.
- 43:30Speaker 6: And I was like, Okay, well, he's got a little
- 43:32Speaker 6: bit of.
- 43:32Speaker 4: The entertainment side to him.
- 43:33Speaker 5: He could be more than just you know, the good
- 43:37Speaker 5: wrestler type guy. But I almost feel like.
- 43:40Speaker 3: He almost has too much respect for like the Brian Danielson's,
- 43:44Speaker 3: that John Moxley's those guys, and and and being tight
- 43:48Speaker 3: with mjf is it is gonna it be really hard
- 43:50Speaker 3: for him to just jump ship.
- 43:53Speaker 6: Completely because I don't know if he fits the w
- 43:57Speaker 6: W fist or the w look in style, but I
- 44:01Speaker 6: would say he's He's probably the one that I would
- 44:03Speaker 6: say everybody you just mentioned, he's the one most likely
- 44:07Speaker 6: to stay in AAW.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I can see that. I can understand that
- 44:11Speaker 2: as well. I think all of these stars would be
- 44:15Speaker 2: better suited in WE right now. Is that is that
- 44:18Speaker 2: safe to say?
- 44:20Speaker 5: I would say the way that that nxt uh.
- 44:24Speaker 3: And to a degree, WWE have booked the guys that
- 44:28Speaker 3: have made the jump from AW. It makes it really
- 44:32Speaker 3: enticing to look at that now as a much more
- 44:34Speaker 3: playable option.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Than maybe a year ago. I mean, you take a guy.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Like Ethan Page, who was buried at the bottom of
- 44:41Speaker 3: aw's roster for a long time, and he's the NXT
- 44:44Speaker 3: champion Lexis King. You know, even Sean Spears has gotten
- 44:49Speaker 3: more run than maybe we thought he would an NXT.
- 44:52Speaker 3: It makes it much more appealing to a guy like
- 44:54Speaker 3: a Ricky starz Ortanier Garcia who are still young in
- 44:56Speaker 3: their careers and go man, I could make that jump
- 44:58Speaker 3: and least strike while the Irons hont because WW is
- 45:02Speaker 3: super high right now. But you also have to take
- 45:06Speaker 3: a new pants of consideration like yeah, with WW love
- 45:09Speaker 3: to have you know, a Daniel Garcia because he's a
- 45:12Speaker 3: great wrestler, absolutely, but can they bring more out of
- 45:16Speaker 3: him to make him into their type of superstar. I
- 45:19Speaker 3: think Ricky Stark pick All agree, is kind of the
- 45:22Speaker 3: prototycable w W young, you know, young athletic wrestler that
- 45:25Speaker 3: has all the skills that they can kind of capitalize on,
- 45:31Speaker 3: you know, and then Penta and Phoenix just have a
- 45:33Speaker 3: unique look. So I think Garcia would be the much
- 45:36Speaker 3: the ones much more.
- 45:37Speaker 4: Up in the air.
- 45:38Speaker 3: But about any of those four guys, I'd be looking
- 45:40Speaker 3: at that lancecape and go, yeah, I can make a mark,
- 45:42Speaker 3: I can make an impact, and I can make a
- 45:44Speaker 3: bigger name for myself in w w E than I
- 45:46Speaker 3: can't hear in AAW.
- 45:47Speaker 2: On next week's this is a show we will preview
- 45:49Speaker 2: and predict AW all in in Wembley Stadium in London.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Dave Meltzer recently, in regards to the Mariah May Tony
- 45:57Speaker 2: Storm feud, said on Wrestling's Newsletter, quote, this is probably
- 46:01Speaker 2: the best built AW feud in history and has and
- 46:04Speaker 2: has made Storm's career. That's trade. Do you agree or
- 46:08Speaker 2: disagree with Dave Meltzer?
- 46:09Speaker 3: There best built match storyline wise, longevity wise, with everything
- 46:17Speaker 3: gone on. It's it's really hard to argue that just
- 46:22Speaker 3: because it's been one of the knocks that you and
- 46:24Speaker 3: I have had with AW for five years is that
- 46:26Speaker 3: sometimes these storylines and and aren't there maybe MJF and Jericho.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I was gonna say that One's funny you brought that.
- 46:35Speaker 5: Up, Yeah, because I was just thinking of MJF.
- 46:38Speaker 4: And the Dinner the musical.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but that might that would probably be one, and
- 46:46Speaker 3: then Storm and Mariah maybe too. And it's amazing that
- 46:50Speaker 3: it's Mariah May who a year ago wasn't even in
- 46:53Speaker 3: the company and was hardly ever even heard of outside
- 46:56Speaker 3: of you know, some really diehard indie things.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say MGFF Jericho one is is mine.
- 47:03Speaker 2: I would say that was number one. I was trying
- 47:05Speaker 2: to rack my brain a little bit.
- 47:06Speaker 4: I think MGF Cody.
- 47:10Speaker 2: I think maybe MGF Punk.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, okay, so that was really good.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Anything MJF for about a three year period.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Well, I think MGF is a WWE kid in an
- 47:21Speaker 2: AW world. I mean, I think he cares about the storylines,
- 47:24Speaker 2: and I think his storylines in its early part of
- 47:26Speaker 2: his AW run there as he built up, were really
- 47:29Speaker 2: really important to his career.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Yeah, mun MGF, Like I still remember Cody taking.
- 47:34Speaker 2: The lashes Yep, Yeah, Cody with the Lashes was good.
- 47:38Speaker 3: Yeah, so those ones like We're really bad. I still
- 47:41Speaker 3: think it's MJF Jericho, maybe MJF Punk.
- 47:45Speaker 4: I think I think Hangman.
- 47:47Speaker 2: And Swerve has a really big chance to and it's
- 47:51Speaker 2: been so short term, but I think that has a
- 47:53Speaker 2: chance to be one of the greatest feuds in AW history.
- 47:56Speaker 3: If they didn't really get back to it.
- 47:58Speaker 2: And I think they're gonnat that it's the word. The
- 48:00Speaker 2: word right now is is Swerve Hangman it all out? Yeah,
- 48:05Speaker 2: I think they can get there.
- 48:07Speaker 5: I think they do. But once again it's it's do
- 48:10Speaker 5: you buy.
- 48:11Speaker 3: I I still have a hard time with Adam Page.
- 48:15Speaker 2: I just he's been so good lately. You even enjoyed
- 48:17Speaker 2: the stuff.
- 48:19Speaker 4: It's it's yeah, it's been better. I mean it's what
- 48:22Speaker 4: he's done in.
- 48:23Speaker 3: The last year was better than anything he did the
- 48:27Speaker 3: first four years. Like even like the stuff he's done
- 48:30Speaker 3: with Swerve leading up to now was better than his
- 48:33Speaker 3: entire world title run.
- 48:37Speaker 2: M yeah, yeah, I'm trying to think about the The
- 48:41Speaker 2: world title run was not that great. Yeah, so I
- 48:45Speaker 2: think the stuff with Swerve is better. I really like
- 48:47Speaker 2: the direction, like because in a storyline sense, people should
- 48:50Speaker 2: be siding with Hangman Page over Swerve of Strickland. Yet
- 48:53Speaker 2: everybody is is siding with the villain, Like the villain
- 48:58Speaker 2: went into his house, put the T shirt on his on,
- 49:00Speaker 2: Like everybody should be able to relate to that, and
- 49:02Speaker 2: he's like losing his mind about it and can't pay
- 49:04Speaker 2: any attention. Yet everybody is cheering for Swerve in that instance.
- 49:09Speaker 5: Yeah, it'd be like when Austin went in a Pillman's house.
- 49:11Speaker 5: If everybody cheer for pilming comes true, it's true true.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I would say, going back to Maria May Tony Storm,
- 49:17Speaker 2: I think it's I think it's top five. I really
- 49:20Speaker 2: liked well, I don't know if it's top five yet.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, is I really like the execution of
- 49:25Speaker 2: it after she won the Owen and attacked Tony Storm.
- 49:30Speaker 2: I don't think. I feel like it peaked there, and
- 49:33Speaker 2: I think it's been good. The stuff that you've seen
- 49:35Speaker 2: on Collision, on Dynamite whatever, I think has been good,
- 49:39Speaker 2: but it hasn't reached the level as it hit when
- 49:41Speaker 2: Mariah turned on Tony Storm.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I think the only issue we may run into
- 49:48Speaker 3: is the match.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Like, if the match.
- 49:52Speaker 5: Is good, it will boost it up for us.
- 49:55Speaker 3: If the match is bad, it will pull it down
- 49:57Speaker 3: because you could have the greatest storyline in the world.
- 50:00Speaker 3: But if the match is god awful, it will completely,
- 50:03Speaker 3: you know, disrupt and derail a kind of you know,
- 50:07Speaker 3: good feelings we have.
- 50:08Speaker 4: Towards the storyline.
- 50:09Speaker 3: So and as much as I love both these women,
- 50:14Speaker 3: they've had some clunker matches, you know, individually, over their time.
- 50:19Speaker 3: So I'm just hoping that when you get to All
- 50:22Speaker 3: In that this match delivers on everything's built up to be.
- 50:26Speaker 2: That is true, That is very, very true, because that's
- 50:28Speaker 2: what Hangman and Swerve did in the short term recent
- 50:31Speaker 2: memory is they delivered on their matches. Final thing I
- 50:35Speaker 2: want to bring up your doctor, Trey. The location for
- 50:37Speaker 2: AW All in the twenty twenty five was announced today
- 50:41Speaker 2: as we record this on Thursday. It will take place
- 50:43Speaker 2: at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on July twelfth.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Tony Kahan announced after that that it would return to
- 50:49Speaker 2: Wembley in twenty twenty six for All In London twenty
- 50:53Speaker 2: twenty six. Your thoughts here, as this has been rumored
- 50:57Speaker 2: for a while. I think Sean Ross sap out out
- 50:59Speaker 2: there for a little bit as well. Your thoughts as
- 51:02Speaker 2: AW brings All In back to the United States and
- 51:04Speaker 2: they take over Globe Blyfield where the Texas Rangers play
- 51:07Speaker 2: on July the twelfth.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I love that in a sense, this is AW countering
- 51:13Speaker 3: what we talked about a couple weeks ago with the
- 51:15Speaker 3: WW talks for London and Wembley Stadium as well, that
- 51:18Speaker 3: we felt like that was wwe going to Aw's quote
- 51:21Speaker 3: unquote backyard because of the history of the con family
- 51:24Speaker 3: with London and potentially putting a WrestleMania them. Well, hey,
- 51:28Speaker 3: let's go to a place where they had one of
- 51:31Speaker 3: the biggest wrestlemanis, if not the largest crowd at wrestleme history.
- 51:35Speaker 4: Was it was it Arlington? I'm not sure, but it.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Was Dallas, right, it was, Well, I guess which is
- 51:40Speaker 2: in Arlington. It's the Cowboys Stadium.
- 51:42Speaker 3: Yeah, so we can go there and pull a huge
- 51:46Speaker 3: crowd in WWE's quote unquote one of their backyards.
- 51:51Speaker 4: It's a shot back at him.
- 51:52Speaker 3: So to me, this was an announcement to counter program
- 51:56Speaker 3: WWE London talks, which they had talked about.
- 51:59Speaker 4: This was it a couple of months.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Ago about them working out a deal in Texas and
- 52:04Speaker 3: doing a bunch of shows there for a while.
- 52:06Speaker 4: I mean Texas.
- 52:07Speaker 3: I mean with the history of World Class Championship Wrestling
- 52:10Speaker 3: and what a great talent Texas has been for professional wrestling,
- 52:15Speaker 3: it's good to have another base of operations. I mean,
- 52:20Speaker 3: we talked about WWE, which, for all intentsive purposes, it
- 52:23Speaker 3: was a Northeast company for the first thirty forty years
- 52:27Speaker 3: of existence, but now they've kind of taken over Florida.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Aw's home office home base is Jacksonville. Hey, I need
- 52:37Speaker 3: somewhere else I can go where we can draw big crowds,
- 52:40Speaker 3: bring in a bunch of money, and then also have
- 52:42Speaker 3: a solid talent base to steal from. There's not really
- 52:46Speaker 3: a much better place than Texas, other than maybe California.
- 52:49Speaker 3: But California fans are kind of I'm gonna use the
- 52:52Speaker 3: word again, fickle when it comes to professional wrestling.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I mean that to that point that you were gonna
- 52:57Speaker 2: bring up, and I was going to say too, it's like,
- 52:59Speaker 2: why aren't they doing a show in the Jaguars Stadium.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Wouldn't that make sense?
- 53:04Speaker 3: It will, it would, But if you stick to your backyard,
- 53:10Speaker 3: you become like you're I don't know to.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Me, but there's gonna be like no cost to it.
- 53:14Speaker 2: I mean, that's a really they're doing that really And
- 53:16Speaker 2: and and we haven't talked about this yet, but I
- 53:18Speaker 2: think they're doing a really I mean collision these last
- 53:20Speaker 2: couple of weeks in the Esports Arena. It looks like
- 53:22Speaker 2: a low rate like show. To me, it does not
- 53:26Speaker 2: look like a normal AW show. And and I understand
- 53:28Speaker 2: that it's a cost savings move like that would be
- 53:30Speaker 2: a major cost savings move if they went to the
- 53:32Speaker 2: stadium that they freaking own.
- 53:35Speaker 3: I thought that was one of the things they were
- 53:36Speaker 3: trying to work out with the people in Texas was, Hey,
- 53:39Speaker 3: we'll do a bunch of shows here and now.
- 53:42Speaker 2: There's probably there's there's probably some yeah, well you scratch
- 53:46Speaker 2: our back, we'll scratch yours type stuff going on.
- 53:49Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, if you want to save money, yeah,
- 53:50Speaker 3: you run one in Jacksonville and fill up.
- 53:54Speaker 4: Was it M and T Stadium I think it is
- 53:56Speaker 4: or whatever whatever the stadium name is.
- 53:58Speaker 2: No, I think that's Baltimore. I don't know off the
- 54:00Speaker 2: top of my head. I don't know where the Jaguars play.
- 54:02Speaker 4: I haven't I haven't played Madden in the last three weeks.
- 54:05Speaker 4: I haven't looked up the name.
- 54:06Speaker 2: So I'll look that up in just second.
- 54:09Speaker 3: It was a huge It would be a huge cost
- 54:11Speaker 3: saving move because you have to pay any kind of
- 54:13Speaker 3: rent fees or anything like that to use the facility.
- 54:16Speaker 3: But once again, I think this is kind of their
- 54:19Speaker 3: way to kind of go, hey, you want to go
- 54:21Speaker 3: to London and and counter program what we're doing in Wembley. Fine,
- 54:24Speaker 3: we're gonna go to Arlington and pack out Globe Life
- 54:27Speaker 3: Stadium even though it's not at and T Stadium. But hey,
- 54:31Speaker 3: if we can put fifty sixty thousand people in Globe
- 54:34Speaker 3: Life for an ADW show in Texas, Yeah, that's kind
- 54:39Speaker 3: of a shot that we're we're still we're a big deal,
- 54:41Speaker 3: even though we may people may not think.
- 54:43Speaker 4: We are as big as we were a year or
- 54:45Speaker 4: two ago.
- 54:46Speaker 2: For those Jaguar fans that listen to podcasts or Madden
- 54:48Speaker 2: players that were screaming at us over the last minute
- 54:50Speaker 2: trying to figure it out, it's ever Bank Stadium.
- 54:52Speaker 4: In Jacksonville, Duval County.
- 54:55Speaker 2: In Duval County, and they reportedly can hold a record
- 54:59Speaker 2: attens was eighty five, thy four and thirteen for Florida
- 55:01Speaker 2: State Alabama Crimson Tide game in two thousand and seven.
- 55:05Speaker 2: So obviously that fans aren't on the field for that,
- 55:07Speaker 2: so it goes to show you that maybe they could
- 55:09Speaker 2: fit a little bit more.
- 55:11Speaker 4: So.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yeah, interesting that that's that's not on the table. I
- 55:17Speaker 2: be intrigued right now what the attendance numbers are for
- 55:20Speaker 2: Globe Life. I just I don't know. I think a
- 55:22Speaker 2: lot has to continue forward progressively in a positive manner
- 55:27Speaker 2: for AW, for them to have strong numbers once they
- 55:31Speaker 2: go to a Global Life Stadium next year in Arlington, Texas.
- 55:37Speaker 2: But huge move for AW, and that will be We're
- 55:40Speaker 2: all in is in twenty twenty five, and I think
- 55:43Speaker 2: it's we talked about a couple of weeks ago. It's
- 55:45Speaker 2: certainly got to feel that this is their WrestleMania based
- 55:48Speaker 2: on how they handle booking the show, locations of the show,
- 55:51Speaker 2: and overall like hype around it. So it appears they
- 55:55Speaker 2: have finally landed on a WrestleMania for AAW. That said,
- 56:00Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, let's get a couple plugs and sposor out
