- 1:00for today's episode of Yours Truly. Johnny Door as the Molly Key Manner continues
- 1:07with parts three and four from Hollywood. It's time now for Bob Bailey as
- 1:17Johnny Doller. Guess who Johnny? Whoa lou chang? When they told me
- 1:23you had called my heart jump and beat faster. It has been a long
- 1:26time, too long. Look, I want to see you, Lou.
- 1:30Where are you? They only gave me a phone number. It's a waterfront
- 1:33bar for the drum street sailors hang out. No, wait there, I've
- 1:36got a drunk on my hands. Well get rid of him. He can't
- 1:40do it, honey, this is a valuable drunk. You wait. I'll
- 1:42get there as soon as I can. And look, will you do me
- 1:45a favorite, Lou, anything you want, Johnny. Well, there's a
- 1:49man named Benny Wong. I think he's been hiding out in Chinatown for the
- 1:53last two days. Can you find him for me? So that is why
- 1:56you are here. The sinking of the Mary K. That's right, Lou,
- 2:00too bad, Johnny. I sorry to hear that. Awfully sorry tonight
- 2:14at every weekday night, Bob Bailey. In the transcribed Adventures of the Man
- 2:16with the Action Packed Expense Account, America's Fabulous freelance insurance investigator jos Truli Johnny
- 2:23Dollar from Special Investigator Johnny Dollar, location San Francisco to the home office Marine
- 2:37and Maritime Casually Limited, Hartford, Connecticut assignment the Molly K Matter expense account
- 2:43continued item five eleven dollars even drinks consumed by one Josiah Hawkins, able bodied
- 2:53seamen lands birth ship's carpenter on the freighter Molly K. And Hawkins was scared,
- 2:58scared half to death, so the fear worked against the liquor, and
- 3:00the drinks weren't doing much good. Who is you talking to on the phone?
- 3:07A friend? You say anything about me, about me being with you?
- 3:12Nope? How about another drinkers to hark. I had enough. What's
- 3:17the name of your friend, mister Dollary. Oh, you wouldn't know her.
- 3:22Just a girl I know here in town. Oh a girl, mister
- 3:27Hawkins. Did Bill Mack have a girl? Yes, he got hisself engaged
- 3:31to a girl. I know what you're aiming at, mister Dollar. You're
- 3:38trying to play on my sympathy. He was your friend, that he was
- 3:42one of the best, and now he's dead, drowned in the Pacific when
- 3:46the molly Kay went down. However, sanchor is responsible for his death.
- 3:51You can help me. If you were, it wouldn't bring him back.
- 3:53And I gotta think of myself. You're in more danger before you talk than
- 3:58you'd be afterwards. The whole idea is to keep you from talking. Huh,
- 4:03Sure there's sense in that, all right. Somebody shot at you out
- 4:06there on the docks, tried to kill you. You'll never be safe as
- 4:09long as they're running loose. Well, mister Hawkins, the molly k was
- 4:15sunk deliberate. We're sure that all of us that was aboard or things just
- 4:20wasn't right even before it happened. What things, Well, that fire,
- 4:26for one ten days ago. The first time we started out for Yokohama,
- 4:30Bill Mack was the one that discovered. Did Mac think the fire had been
- 4:34set? That he did? He told the captain that, you know what
- 4:39happened, mister doller. Captain Brawley knocked him down the bridge ladder, told
- 4:45him to keep his mouth shut and not go around spreading wild rumors. All
- 4:49right? The second time he sail, what happened? We'll as soon as
- 4:54we cleared the gate and headed out to see Bill and me was on watch.
- 5:00He had me cover for him while he sneaked down in the hole to
- 5:03see what he could find out. He still hadn't come back when it happened.
- 5:09I think you was right, mister Dollar, what you said at the
- 5:13hearing. What do you mean we didn't hit no derelict. An explosion,
- 5:17That's what it was in the bottom of the forward hole somewheres. I was
- 5:23on the bow deck right above it when it happened. What about that Chinese
- 5:27stewart, the one who got ashore and then disappeared. Did you notice anything
- 5:30special about him? Benny Wong? We was only a couple hours out of
- 5:35port. I don't even remember seeing him. One thing though that seemed kind
- 5:41of funny at the time. Was that the first mate done all the hiring
- 5:46for this trip, same as always, just one exception. Benny Wong was
- 5:50hired on by Captain Brawley himself, and something ELTs mister Dollar about Bill mack
- 5:59being round. He was wrong about that. Bill McK is a lie.
- 6:04No, he was dead before the molly k ever sunk what. I went
- 6:10looking for him as soon as it happened, and I found him down on
- 6:15the lower boat deck, lying in a pool of blood. Somebody cut his
- 6:19throat. I'll have another drink now. I sat there looking at him across
- 6:27the table. I'm not saying anything. There was nothing I could say.
- 6:30Bill McK had been his friend. I thought over what he just told me,
- 6:34tried to fit an in with what I already knew. It didn't add
- 6:39up to an answer yet, not quite. But I was close, and
- 6:42I was getting closer all the time. Mister Dollar, it's him, Captain
- 6:47Brawley over there. He'd just come in. Yeah, he's seen us too,
- 6:50he's coming over this way. I gotta get out of hit down.
- 6:54Let's pockets. He wants starting. You don't know him, You don't know
- 6:57how he is when he gets made. But it looks like I'm gonna find
- 7:00out. Well, seems like you're not very particular. But the company you
- 7:05keep either, my captain, pull up a chair. What are you up
- 7:09to, dollar offering him a bribe to testify against me too? That's enough
- 7:14against you already. Yeah, there will be more than likely when you and
- 7:16them smart company lawyers get through you. Insurance people are all alike. You're
- 7:23right there to collect when it's due you, but your squirm when it comes
- 7:26to paying off. Well, now that depends on the circumstances, captain,
- 7:29and in this case, well, I wouldn't go spending that money yet if
- 7:31I were you. That's what you've been telling him. Huh. When I've
- 7:34got anything to tell, I'll tell her to the courts. Yeah, a
- 7:38long with anybody else you can turn against me, like my own daughter,
- 7:42for instance. She even sneaked your on try to turn her against me,
- 7:45Not that that took much doing. And Dean Sutton, owner of the cargo.
- 7:49But there's a limit to what a man will take Dollar and I took
- 7:53enough already. Now you better quit pushing me. I'm warning you. I'll
- 8:01take your warning and stick it where it'll do the most court. You've been
- 8:03trying to block every attempt I've made to get to the bottom of this thing.
- 8:07You've dragged your feet every step of the way, deliberately. Dollar.
- 8:09Nobody touched to me like that, and it's time somebody did. I think
- 8:13you're in this thing right up to your big fat neck, and if you
- 8:16are, I'm going to pin it on you, not just for swindling.
- 8:18If you are behind the sinking of the Molly k I'm gonna see to it
- 8:20that you stand trial for murder too, mister Dollar. All right, captain,
- 8:28learn it the hard way, White cowt he's drabbing the bottom. Sorry,
- 8:33the party's over right now. You better get out of here. Hawkins,
- 8:43He's not gonna feel very friendly when he comes to You're the only man
- 8:46I ever seen stand up to him, mister Dollar. There was one other,
- 8:50one, Bill Mack. I left Captain Brawley lying there on the floor.
- 8:58They were throwing water on it when I walked out. I hadn't wanted
- 9:01to fight, but there had been no choice, and it had given me
- 9:05one new fact to fit in. The Captain's coat fell open when he hit
- 9:09the floor, and I saw he was packing a gun expense account item six
- 9:16eighty cents, a taxi fair to Chinatown and a rendezvous with Lou Tang Shanghai.
- 9:22Lu A strange woman, this one, wise shrewd and alert, hard
- 9:28and tough when she feels that way, soft as a kitten when she feels
- 9:33that way. Her nationality, history, age, nothing certain about any of
- 9:37that. But there's one thing that is certain. She's the most beautiful woman
- 9:43I've ever known. It is good to see you, Johnny. How long
- 9:48has it been last year? Lou in Paris? How could you forget?
- 9:54I didn't forget. I only wanted to see if you had kiss me,
- 9:58Johnny. I came here to talk business. Oh business, I don't feel
- 10:07like talking business. Sim Don Let's get married, all right? First one
- 10:11said tomorrow. Now I find not to night. It's too late. We'd
- 10:13have to wake somebody up. Always problems, reasons. I don't think you
- 10:16even want to marry me, Sure I do. I'm been mad too for
- 10:20years? And why didn't you in Paris? It's no time to go into
- 10:24that again. Look, I'm on a case, a rough one, and
- 10:28it's just possible that you may be mixed up in it. Johnny, I
- 10:31did not sink to Molly Kate. So there you are. That takes care
- 10:33of the business. Let's get married. Will you sit back down there?
- 10:37That does not take care of the business. But more, do you want
- 10:39to know several things any long? For instance, that man you asked me
- 10:46about, Yeah, they said he went down with the Molly k But I
- 10:48found out different from one of the crew. I've not found Benny yet,
- 10:52but I have people looking. So why don't you enough? I've known you
- 10:56too long. You're not fooling me. Fooling you hatter is good, but
- 11:00it's not covering the fact that you're bothered. You've always bothered me, Johnny,
- 11:05That's not it. How do you figure in this thing? Though?
- 11:09I don't really know what you mean by this thing? Johnny, you had
- 11:15a pretty heavy stake in the Molly k one hundred thousand dollars mortgage loaned the
- 11:18Captain Prawley sound business deal, that's all. I have investments in many ships
- 11:24that sail out of San Francisco, and of course the investment was covered by
- 11:28insurance. Naturally, I made sure of that before I advanced alone. Don't
- 11:33let the soft brown eyes fool you. Johnny, I'm a hard headed businesswoman.
- 11:37Yeah, I know. It was a business deal. Nothing else showed
- 11:41every chance of being a profitable voyage. He was carrying a cargo of wheat.
- 11:46The Tokyo grain market has been advancing steadily for three months. As to
- 11:50what happened, I don't know anything about it. I don't understand it.
- 11:56That's straight, Johnny. That's all I know. What about this Philodeine Sutton?
- 12:03Do you know him, Lou? I've met him. I understand he's
- 12:07engaged to Captain Brawley daughter. But beyond pardon a moment, I see who
- 12:11it is. The visitor was a young Chinese lad. She stepped outside to
- 12:16talk to him, and I lit a cigarette and waited for her. I
- 12:20thought over what she'd said, tried to see behind it, and to decide
- 12:24whether to believe it or not. Lou Tang was not a person you could
- 12:26push. I stood up when she came back into the round. You're not
- 12:31leaving, Johnny, Yeah, I think i'd better. But you see me
- 12:35tomorrow, you know I will. What if I were mixed up in this?
- 12:41Would you send me to jail? You know the answer, yes,
- 12:46And you're the only man I know who would. I'd be gentle about it,
- 12:50though, I think you really would. You're sweet, Johnny, awfully
- 12:58sweet. I'm a dog. I've made up my mind to take no part
- 13:03in this, to stay completely out of it. But I'm going to tell
- 13:07you something. What do you mean that man who just came to the door.
- 13:13I've had him out looking for Benny Wong. Has he found him,
- 13:16not yet, but he's found out something about him. Johnny. If the
- 13:22mary Ka was sunk on purpose, how do you think it was done for
- 13:26an explosion on the bottom of the Ford Hold. Benny Wong was a demolition
- 13:33sergeant during World War II. He's rather well known as an expert on explosives.
- 13:56Johnny Deller Ahi, Johnny Dan McKay a police Dan. I was planning
- 14:01to drop by and see you about the sinking of the Molly k but I've
- 14:05been pretty busy since I got here. Yeah, so I've heard, Johnny,
- 14:09you're under arrest. What did I do? Park in a red zone?
- 14:11Walk on the grass? I'm not kidding, I mean it. Oh,
- 14:13what's a charge? Let's see, salt battery, aggravated the salt salt
- 14:20with intent to do bodily in order. Dan that's enough. Do you want
- 14:22to know sign it? I already know that's practically an admission of guilt.
- 14:26You know that. But I've got witnesses, so is he? Huh?
- 14:31I think you'd better come down and talk about it, or you'll send out
- 14:33the wagon. Is at it? I'm serious, Johnny? All right,
- 14:37Dan, I'll be down. From Special Investigator Johnny Doller, location, San
- 14:43Francisco to the home Office Marine and Maritime Casually Limited, Hartford, Connecticut assignment.
- 14:48The molly came at her expense account continued Item seven, A mere sixty
- 14:56cents taxi from my hotel to the foot of I Get Street and headquarters of
- 15:01Inspector Dan McKay and charge of Harbor Police. I'd known Dan for years,
- 15:05well enough to realize that knowing him wouldn't make any difference, not when he
- 15:09had a warrant to serve. I knew the charge wouldn't stick, of course,
- 15:13but it could slow me down, and I figured that was exactly why
- 15:16it had been filed. You may be right, Johnny. Maybe Captain Brawley
- 15:20didn't file charges just for nuisance value keep you out of his way for a
- 15:24day or two. That's exactly what he did. Nevertheless, the charge was
- 15:28filed when a warrant has been issued. So what are you gonna do about
- 15:31it? I know what I'd like to do about it. That's against the
- 15:35law too. You know, you could be wrong, Johnny Rowley may not
- 15:41be guilty of the Molly case. Thinking I told you the whole story,
- 15:45Dan, the facts say it up. What do you think. I think
- 15:48you've got an awful strong case, but it's still based on circumstantial evidence.
- 15:52Well, what else is it? A basin on the rest of the evidence
- 15:54is out past the harbor there, out beyond the Golden Gate, a mile
- 15:58below the surface of the Pacific. Yeah, yeah, I know most of
- 16:00the cases we handle here in the Harbor Division like that. Well, then
- 16:04you can see the problem I'm up against. Yeah, I can see it
- 16:08all right. That's a big harbor out there, Johnny, biggest natural harbor
- 16:15in the world. A lot of square miles of water, a lot of
- 16:19miles of shoreline, and a lot of ways of covering up a crime as
- 16:25far as disposing of physical evidence. It's true, body can be thrown into
- 16:29the bay, a weapon, so on. Sometimes we recover it, sometimes
- 16:33we don't. It's tough, Johnny yeah, I mentioned little tough. Hey,
- 16:40that's as Marathonia arriving from Ceylon, Java the Philippines. She'll dock at
- 16:47Pier fourteen. The cargo is probably spices, mahogany, raw nice looking shipping,
- 16:53beautiful. They drive me crazy, Johnny, watching him here from the
- 16:57window, I should have going to see. Oh well, anyway, since
- 17:07we don't have physical evidence in a lot of cases, we've learned to rely
- 17:10on other things, such as the human elements. Johnny, you've turned up
- 17:15a lot of facts. True, you've made a good deal more progress on
- 17:18this case, and I have than you have. What do you mean,
- 17:22Tim Rourke sent me the report of the inquiry board. I've been working on
- 17:25the case ever since. Now, you've got a pretty convincing bunch of facts.
- 17:30But I know Captain Brawley, but a reputation at least. Look,
- 17:33Dann, I know what you're getting at. People who know Brawley think he's
- 17:37honest. Ol' rourke said the same thing, right, tough, hard,
- 17:41violent temper, a slave driver, but not a crook. An honest man
- 17:44can get under pressure, sometimes get pushed beyond his depth. It happens every
- 17:48day. Yeah, Yeah, But Johnny even then he reacts according to his
- 17:51pattern. Here's what I'm getting at that murder on board the Molly Cage.
- 17:56Just before she sank, you said Hawkins told you the man had been knifed.
- 18:00I can see Brawley slugging somebody with fist, club or bottle, or
- 18:03even shooting a man, but not a knife. Not in his nature.
- 18:10That's what I mean by human elements. And you're right, n I agree
- 18:15with you. I don't think it was Brawley who killed him. Here's the
- 18:18way I see it. Brawley was pressed for cash. The mortgage on his
- 18:22ship was due in thirty days. He was carrying that grain for Dean Sutton
- 18:26on a contingency basis. He might not make any money, or at least
- 18:30not enough. He was probably doing is a favorite of his daughter. She
- 18:34and Dean Sutton are in keys for the first time out. He tried setting
- 18:37that fire on board. It didn't work. One of the crew, Bill
- 18:41Mack, discovered it before it got started. The money kay returned to port
- 18:45and Brawley filed an insurance claim. Then he got scared off an investigation and
- 18:49withdraw it. That's all guesswork, Johnny so far. His second attempt.
- 18:53He contact and an expert on explosives, Benny Wong, and Benny pulled off
- 18:57the job for him, blew the b him out of the ship and sank
- 19:00it. And what about the knifing, Well, Bill Mack was suspicious.
- 19:04He was prowling around the hold and caught Benny in the act of setting the
- 19:07explosive. Benny killed him, figuring the sinking would cover for him, but
- 19:12by accident, Hawkins stumbled onto the body before the ship went down. Right,
- 19:18That adds up, Johnny. It's hard to argue. I just can't
- 19:25see it. Captain sinking his own ship. It's been done before. Yeah,
- 19:27I know, not everybody feels about them the way you do, Dan,
- 19:32and a half million is a lot of money, that's true. Twenty
- 19:37five years of command means a lot too, A deep sense of responsibility,
- 19:41integrity. Pardon me, SpecR McKay, Well, yeah, just a moment.
- 19:53It's bee you, Johnny. It was Lou Tan Shanghailu. She'd call
- 20:00the hotel and found out where to reach me. For once, she didn't
- 20:03try to play games. She spoke briefly and straight to the point, and
- 20:07she told me what I wanted to know. The most. When I hung
- 20:11up, I knew I was on the last lap. I had the case
- 20:14right in my hand. Well, what's up, Johnny? What is it?
- 20:18Dan? How would you like to come along and talk to the man
- 20:22who blew up the molly k A M E eighty cents? Another texts a
- 20:30short run from the foot of Market to Fisherman's Wharf, lou Tang spies had
- 20:34told her Benny Wong was holed up in a back run of the Fast Song
- 20:37Fish Company out on the docks, and they said he was scared, armed
- 20:41and dangerous. There's the fast Song layout, Johnny put the warehouse in the
- 20:52end. Yeah, let's go around the gangway, lou Tang said. The
- 20:56rumors on the back corner said, Johnny, why don't you wait here?
- 21:00Let me take him. This kind of thing is part of my job.
- 21:03But he's my pigeon, Dan. I found him first. There's a door
- 21:07at the back. That must be it the only one it could be.
- 21:11Besides, I'm under arrest. If you left me alone, I'm gonna escape.
- 21:14Yeah, yeah, sure, you got a gun, Jim, Yeah,
- 21:18all right, let's go. We moved quietly up to the blank wooden
- 21:26door, opening onto the gangway over the water when a windows in the back
- 21:30wall, so we were certainly weren't being watched from inside. We stopped at
- 21:33the door and McKay reached for the knob and try to cheaply. It's unlocked.
- 21:38Really, you go ahead? Hey, what all the police officer on
- 21:44that gun? Drop it fast? This doesn't look much like Benny Wong,
- 21:52Johnny, Oh, it doesn't look k What do you do, Dean,
- 21:56go around with a gun in your hand all the time. Yeah, I'm
- 21:57making a mistake. I don't know any more about this than you do any
- 22:02more about what? What are you doing here? Don Here's what he means?
- 22:06H oh wow, So we don't talk too many? Shot three times?
- 22:17Yeah, any one of the bullets would have done the job. You
- 22:21weren't taking any chances, were you, Deem? I didn't shoot him,
- 22:25I just got here. How did you know where he was hiding? I
- 22:29didn't. I didn't know anything about him. I got a phone call somebody
- 22:33said to meet them here, said they give me the load down on the
- 22:36singing of the Molly Kid. What's somebody? Who was it? I don't
- 22:38know? Man? A woman? Oh? Man? I think voice was
- 22:44muffled so I came here to meet them, and we find you standing over
- 22:47a dead man with a gun in your hand. I found him like that.
- 22:49I figured it was a trap. I don't know anything about. Oh
- 22:52no, of course you don't. You just a babe and awards. Johnny
- 22:56barking up wrong, t What do you mean? This man's been dead for
- 22:59several hours since early morning, I'd say, And he was shot with a
- 23:03forty five. This gun of Sutton is a thirty two. So that's that,
- 23:11Johnny. What was the caliber of the gun you saw Captain Brawley wearing
- 23:18a forty five? Dan, I'll put out a bullet and move. Pick
- 23:22him up, wind up. The pets were all in. There was nothing
- 23:30more ahead but the show down. Dan tore up the warrant on me,
- 23:33of course, and I went back to my hotel room to wait it out.
- 23:37That seemed the safest place to be. Probably would be desperate now,
- 23:41half out of his mind, and of all the people he hated most,
- 23:44I was number one. So I lay back on my bed and waited.
- 23:49I reached my gun from the lamp table, moved quietly over to the door,
- 23:53and took hold of the key. Oh is it, Ellen? That's
- 24:00the second. Come on in, has he been here? Johnny's who?
- 24:06My father? The last time I saw the Captain, he was lying unconscious
- 24:08on a bar on floor. I just put him there. That was last
- 24:11night. What made you think he'd be here? I don't know, I
- 24:15guess I thought. I don't know what. I thought? Oh easy,
- 24:19now I'm scared, Johnny. Oh please, I'm so lonely and scared.
- 24:26It's all right, allan easy now. He came home last night after he
- 24:30fought with you. He was furious. Then he left again and I haven't
- 24:33seen him since. Does he have his gun with him? I guess so.
- 24:36I don't know what. I don't know. Anything helped me, Johnny,
- 24:40won't you? Of course? I will kissed me last night when you
- 24:45kissed me. I wasn't scared then. I was lonely, lot Johnny?
- 24:52What a sad Johnny doll m Johnny. Yeah, we picked up Rowley on
- 24:57the waterfront a half an hour ago. I thought you'd want to know what's
- 25:00he saying? Denies everything, says he was home asleep all night. Says
- 25:04his daughter will back him up. Huh h, I happened a note different
- 25:08on that. Yeah, I figured he was lying. We'd already been out
- 25:11to his house, found his gun. It's been fired three times, Johnny,
- 25:15and the bullets match. When Ellen Brawley left my room, awhile later,
- 25:22I still hadn't told her about her father's arrest. I didn't have the
- 25:26heart. She'd tried her best to protect him, cover for him, She'd
- 25:30have done anything to save him. And yet the irony was that every move
- 25:36she'd made helped tighten the case against him. The scent of her perfume still
- 25:41hung in the air after she'd gone. It was a strange scent, subtle,
- 25:45disturbing him. I began to feel uncomfortable on edge. There was something
- 25:51familiar about that scent, and finally I tagged it. I'd noticed that same
- 25:57perfume in the room on the wharf where Benny Wogley murdered. Now here's our
- 26:19star Bob Bailey, to tell you about tomorrow's episode of this story. Thanks
- 26:23tomorrow night at deadly Rendezvous and the fog shrouded waterfront and an explosion that rocked
- 26:29the city. The payoff, Jonas, Won't you yours truly? Johnny Dollar,

- 28:11twist heading into Friday's finale, and I know you'll definitely want to be listening
- 28:17for that. A lot of action, a lot of stuff happening. It's
- 28:22incredible how much they are able to really just expand on these plots, so
- 28:32it's very nicely done. We do turn out a listener comments and feedback.
- 28:37Christine emails, I was a little sad to see let George do It go
- 28:41last week and realize that it was because in more than two years since I've
- 28:45been listening to your podcast, George and Brooksy had become a part of my
- 28:48life, George more so than Brooksie. So I was really too happy here
- 28:52George come back as Johnny Doler. I didn't realize how much I missed Bob
- 28:56Bailey's voice, yes for just one week, until I heard him as Johnny
- 28:59this week. So happy he's still making his rounds on the podcast. And
- 29:03when The Adventures of Frank Race just started. I found it a bit irritating
- 29:07because the sound was so muffled on several of the episodes that it just became
- 29:11background noise to me, and I stopped actively listen to it. However,
- 29:14since, since the sound has improved, I've really gotten into Race and Mark
- 29:18and enjoy hearing their adventures. Now. I don't thank you realize how much
- 29:23a part of your regular listeners lives you and your podcast. All Right,
- 29:26Adam, I can't speak for others, but I can say that you bring
- 29:30me pure, unadulterated listening pleasure, not just in programs themselves, but in
- 29:33your really great commentary. You always have something interesting to share. Finally,
- 29:37a thought on future podcast. I really like the mysteries that you have brought
- 29:41us. The extent of my old time radio knowledge comes from you, so
- 29:45I don't even know if these exists. Would you consider doing a similar podcast
- 29:48with old time radio medical mysteries like Detective Doctors? Are there even such programs
- 29:55keep rocking for years to come? Well? Thanks so much, Christine.
- 30:00Oh well, if you mean crime solving Doctors, they were surprisingly rare.
- 30:04I know the type of show I think I do anyway, the type of
- 30:07show you're thinking about, if you're thinking about something like Quincy, there wasn't
- 30:12a radio There was not a radios version of Quincy. There was a show,
- 30:21and we're going to play it, play up some episodes of it for
- 30:26you in the next few weeks on Fridays, called Doctor tim Detective. It's
- 30:33got a bit more of a juvenile focus in some ways, and I actually
- 30:37found it pretty entertaining. But that's been about it. There was a show
- 30:41called Colin Doyle Crime Doctor. However, medicine and actually being a doctor didn't
- 30:51really fall into that. So yeah, the diagnosis murder type program, Diagnosis
- 30:59Murderer and Quincy type programs didn't really make it in radio. But I appreciate
- 31:03your con words and thank you so much for listening, and we will actually
- 31:11be back on Friday with yours truly, Johnny Dowler the final part of the
- 31:17Mali Key Manner following our first encounter with the Carter Brown Mysteries, and join
- 31:22us back here tomorrow for Sherlock Holmes and the Meanwhile, Sandra comments to Box
