- 1:57Speaker 3: Mormon Wives and what is going on with those gals.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Of course, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is always
- 2:04Speaker 3: going to be fun to talk about when we're really
- 2:06Speaker 3: like in the city and so many other great things
- 2:10Speaker 3: and funny stuff that we can get into. So come
- 2:12Speaker 3: see me, go to heathermcdolland.net and get those tickets.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Before we get to our fabulous guest, which I'm so
- 2:20Speaker 3: excited for you guys to hear, I had to cover
- 2:23Speaker 3: the Oscars. I really didn't because no one really was
- 2:28Speaker 3: talking much about it. I have to admit, I have
- 2:31Speaker 3: not seen these movies, not because I don't want to.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I just didn't know any of them and I will
- 2:37Speaker 3: watch them now. But I need to cover what's going
- 2:40Speaker 3: on so you'd be aware of it. So Conan O'Brien
- 2:42Speaker 3: was the host. And I watched the monologue and they
- 2:47Speaker 3: were like, there were funny bits and stuff that were
- 2:49Speaker 3: in it, but they were all about the movies, which
- 2:53Speaker 3: I hadn't seen. So I watched the monologue. And I
- 2:58Speaker 3: think there was one really kind of weird joke in there.
- 3:01Speaker 3: And as a joke writer and as someone that's worked
- 3:04Speaker 3: on these type of shows, I just thought it was strange.
- 3:08Speaker 3: So in a nutshell, the joke was, he comes out,
- 3:10Speaker 3: he's like, and... This is the first time since 2012
- 3:14Speaker 3: that we haven't had any English, meaning like from England,
- 3:23Speaker 3: in the Oscar nominees.
- 3:25Speaker 2: But that's because, wait, hold on. You know what? Who cares?
- 3:30Speaker 2: I keep that in. It was so weird.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Basically, he said, and then someone else responded. The reason
- 3:36Speaker 3: I can't say it right, because it was clunky to
- 3:38Speaker 3: begin with. Well, at least we do arrest our pedophiles.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And it was like, whoa, like, and I was just
- 3:46Speaker 3: kind of like, so then in my weird brain, I think,
- 3:50Speaker 3: why was this chosen?
- 3:51Speaker 2: And how did it come about?
- 3:54Speaker 3: And I think whenever I think of the greatest Oscar winner,
- 3:59Speaker 3: Host and monologue. I think of when Ricky Gervais did it,
- 4:04Speaker 3: and it was shortly after the Harvey Weinstein scandal. And
- 4:09Speaker 3: with his English accent, he's like, you're all pedophiles, the
- 4:15Speaker 3: way the English people say. That's just you. You're all
- 4:19Speaker 3: pedophiles anyway.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I don't care. I don't care.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I'm never going to be doing this again.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 4:23Speaker 3: He's your friend, not mine. And really calling out to
- 4:26Speaker 3: the Hollywood audience that, They're hypocrites and pedophiles are among them.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Whatever. It was brilliant, juicy.
- 4:35Speaker 3: So I feel like in trying to figure out what
- 4:37Speaker 3: jokes to say, it was like, I want to make
- 4:41Speaker 3: some mention of pedophiles and Epstein files and I don't know.
- 4:46Speaker 2: So how could we do it?
- 4:48Speaker 3: And then someone had to like go do the weird
- 4:50Speaker 3: joke math and figure that, oh, guess what?
- 4:53Speaker 2: There's no.
- 4:54Speaker 3: um, English actors that are nominated this year and they've
- 4:58Speaker 3: been nominated every year since 2012.
- 4:59Speaker 2: All right. That's not even that long ago. And will they, at.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Least they arrested Prince, um, Andrew? Well, they didn't arrest
- 5:08Speaker 3: Prince Andrew for pedophilia.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:10Speaker 3: They did not arrest him for that. They arrested him
- 5:12Speaker 3: for like a financial thing and he's out. He's not
- 5:17Speaker 3: even hanging out in prison. So it's like, I don't know.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I thought it was weird. I thought it was clunky
- 5:23Speaker 3: and weird. Um, there was some other cute jokes that
- 5:27Speaker 3: were in there that I was like, Oh, okay. Not,
- 5:31Speaker 3: it's such a hard job. So I'm not like criticizing.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I just thought I would have just left it like
- 5:36Speaker 3: either go hard and really go with it or just
- 5:40Speaker 3: keep it light and cute. I just don't think you
- 5:42Speaker 3: should do a, a this or that. And then have it.
- 5:45Speaker 3: And then have you remember that weird clunky joke? Um,
- 5:49Speaker 3: like I said, a lot of the bits would have to,
- 5:51Speaker 3: you would have to get them if you watch the movie.
- 5:53Speaker 2: And I didn't. So you're like, Heather, why even covering it?
- 5:55Speaker 3: Because I thought you'd be mad if I didn't.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Um, Sean Penn won for one battle after another. Um,
- 6:05Speaker 3: and he was not there. And it was kind of
- 6:07Speaker 3: like the guy presenting it. That's like, I'll accept it
- 6:11Speaker 3: for him. I don't know why he's not here. Maybe
- 6:12Speaker 3: he just didn't want to come. Well, he was actually
- 6:15Speaker 3: in the Ukraine, um, you know, doing what he feels
- 6:20Speaker 3: is necessary to be helping the people there.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So that was very noble.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Timothee Chalamet did not win Michael B.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Jordan. However, you.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Know, that whole controversy of where he said about, well,
- 6:35Speaker 3: I don't want us to turn into like ballet or
- 6:38Speaker 3: opera where nobody is interested in those anymore. So then
- 6:42Speaker 3: the beautiful ballerina, Missy Copeland, while they were performing a
- 6:46Speaker 3: song from The Sinners, which is the movie that Michael B.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Jordan won for, she came out twirling on her toes,
- 6:55Speaker 3: which was like a fun thing. But I mean, some
- 6:58Speaker 3: people are like, oh, this is like an F you
- 7:00Speaker 3: to Timothy. I think at this point... It's all good.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Like people aren't, who cares, right? But I thought, why
- 7:08Speaker 3: not have her in it? Why not remind people of
- 7:10Speaker 3: how beautiful ballet is? And I think it's probably done,
- 7:15Speaker 3: this whole little story probably gave a little burst into
- 7:18Speaker 3: people being interested and wanting to go to ballets and operas.
- 7:22Speaker 3: But for me, I prefer ballet to opera, unless it's
- 7:27Speaker 3: Julia from Real Housewives of Miami singing it to her wife.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Michael B.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Jordan, who is just a gorgeous delight with a lot
- 7:36Speaker 3: of talent and seems to be just, everyone likes him.
- 7:40Speaker 3: And his speech was wonderful and grateful and humble and
- 7:46Speaker 3: about acting and saying like, thank you for the incredible support.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I'm like really excited to continue to do so well.
- 7:53Speaker 3: The movie was Sinners. And then he went to In-N-Out.
- 7:58Speaker 3: And I mean, what a great thing to do after obviously,
- 8:01Speaker 3: And you're starving. So a lot of people caught the video.
- 8:04Speaker 3: He brought the Oscar in. He ate the food. And
- 8:07Speaker 3: I saw it this morning and I was like, oh,
- 8:10Speaker 3: how cute.
- 8:11Speaker 2: That's so sweet.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So then I just wrote in the comments, what people
- 8:15Speaker 3: didn't know is that he was just there to hear
- 8:17Speaker 3: them call out six, seven as an order and film it.
- 8:22Speaker 3: My joke, that is fucking dumb, Heather. That's like corny.
- 8:26Speaker 3: The six, seven joke is over six, seven. But all
- 8:29Speaker 3: I remember is the last time I saw a lot
- 8:31Speaker 3: of interior video of the actual people inside in and
- 8:36Speaker 3: out was when people were filming that. And then they
- 8:38Speaker 3: took the six, seven off the, um, they, they, nobody
- 8:43Speaker 3: can order that anymore, even though the joke is completely
- 8:45Speaker 3: over with. And we left it behind two months ago.
- 8:49Speaker 3: What was interesting is that I, it popped up right
- 8:51Speaker 3: before I recorded. Oh, a hundred people liked your comment.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 8:54Speaker 3: A hundred people didn't think it was a super corny joke.
- 8:57Speaker 3: So then I looked at it. There's nine comments of
- 8:59Speaker 3: people that were like, that's a lie. Why are you
- 9:03Speaker 3: saying that? What are you talking about? Why don't you
- 9:06Speaker 3: just let the guy be happy? I'm like, oh my God.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Very cute. And how exciting if you were there and
- 9:13Speaker 3: he brought the Oscar, put the Oscar on the table,
- 9:16Speaker 3: actually ate it, ate the food, not the Oscar.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Adorbs. Okay.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Teyana Taylor is gorgeous and funny and looks stunning. And
- 9:25Speaker 3: she was part of one battle after another. She was
- 9:28Speaker 3: in that movie and they won for best picture.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And it was really great.
- 9:32Speaker 3: And she was, a lot of people caught that she would,
- 9:34Speaker 3: she was so excited to jump up with the producers
- 9:38Speaker 3: and the directors for that win and That she put
- 9:42Speaker 3: the director in a headlock as they walked up to
- 9:45Speaker 3: the to the state. So very funny, very cute, very
- 9:50Speaker 3: in the moment. But then, of course, there was some
- 9:54Speaker 3: articles written after that was like or some opinions.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Maybe they weren't full articles that.
- 10:00Speaker 3: It's interesting that she, you know, jumped on him when
- 10:03Speaker 3: right before she was saying that some security was touching
- 10:06Speaker 3: her and she was getting very upset. And I'm like,
- 10:11Speaker 3: this guy was her director.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:13Speaker 3: They're really good friends. And I followed up on this,
- 10:17Speaker 3: like being touched. And she said, Someone asked about it
- 10:20Speaker 3: as she was leaving another party. She's like, it's fine.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Everything's fine. They were just doing a little much. I
- 10:26Speaker 3: was using shoved or something. There was a lot of
- 10:28Speaker 3: people around. She's not pressing charges. She's not accusing anybody
- 10:32Speaker 3: of anything. My point is there's no, there were no
- 10:35Speaker 3: juicy stories to come out of the Oscars. Oh, people
- 10:38Speaker 3: were very, very few political statements, which was nice, but also, um,
- 10:44Speaker 3: we were not talking about that either. And I just
- 10:47Speaker 3: remember when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock and I had,
- 10:53Speaker 3: we had stuff to talk about for so many weeks
- 10:56Speaker 3: after that Oscar, like their relationship, who's the narcissist, what
- 11:03Speaker 3: does this mean for the Oscars?
- 11:04Speaker 2: What does this mean for his career?
- 11:06Speaker 3: And whatever, that was four or five years ago now.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And, um, I don't know.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I think it was like the last juicy Oscars we had.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Everyone looked pretty beautiful. Nobody wore a weird thing. I
- 11:20Speaker 3: do think Heidi Klum is probably the worst dressed and
- 11:25Speaker 3: she's beautiful.
- 11:26Speaker 2: The body's banging.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I just think this dress looks cheesy and I don't
- 11:32Speaker 3: think it laid right on her body. I don't, I
- 11:34Speaker 3: think she needed it like re-tailored. It just was a
- 11:36Speaker 3: bad choice. But I do think Nicole Kidman looked stunning.
- 11:41Speaker 3: And I think I love that this is gold dress.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I liked the hair, a lot of fluffy hair in
- 11:49Speaker 2: front of her face kind of.
- 11:50Speaker 3: And completely covered, like she's got a great silhouette. But,
- 11:55Speaker 3: you know, long sleeves up to the neck, this gold dress.
- 12:01Speaker 3: But it just looks great. Like I just thought that
- 12:04Speaker 3: is a perfect dress to wear. So those are my
- 12:06Speaker 3: two dress, my favorites. So that was the Oscars, you guys.
- 12:11Speaker 3: And I am so excited because I interviewed one of
- 12:16Speaker 3: the queens of reality TV.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And you're going to love it. So enjoy this interview now.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 12:25Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 12:27Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 12:32Speaker 4: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You deserve a treat.
- 12:43Speaker 4: With eight flavours to choose from, you can choose the
- 12:46Speaker 4: flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 12:54Speaker 5: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 12:58Speaker 5: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 13:01Speaker 5: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 13:05Speaker 5: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 13:13Speaker 2: filed against me. When your free will was about to
- 13:16Speaker 2: be taken from you, what would you.
- 13:17Speaker 6: Do if it was given back?
- 13:19Speaker 5: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 13:22Speaker 5: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 13:24Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 13:26Speaker 2: home dad. What happens next? When I came in, he
- 13:28Speaker 2: started crying. Everybody in life encounters hardships.
- 13:32Speaker 5: What defines them is not those hard moments that they
- 13:35Speaker 5: go through.
- 13:36Speaker 2: It's about what happens next. I decided to risk it all.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work. Listen, Dara,
- 13:43Speaker 2: I'm not going to pull punches. You can use your
- 13:45Speaker 2: voice even if it's shaped.
- 13:46Speaker 5: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 14:00Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I am so excited
- 14:03Speaker 3: to speak to my next guest. I know you guys
- 14:07Speaker 3: would lose your mind. I have the one, the only
- 14:10Speaker 3: Adrienne Curry that has blessed us with her Funniness. I
- 14:18Speaker 3: loved you on all the reality shows that you did.
- 14:20Speaker 3: You're such a personality. We know you as the first
- 14:23Speaker 3: winner of America's Next Top Model. And you have a
- 14:27Speaker 3: great social media presence. And I'm so excited that you
- 14:31Speaker 3: decided to do the show.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Thank you. I'm a professional idiot, and it's been documented
- 14:36Speaker 2: for a really long time. Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I was just like reminding myself, just looking at all
- 14:42Speaker 3: your credits of really your career. So let's just start
- 14:47Speaker 3: from when you were introduced to us. How did you
- 14:50Speaker 3: decide to go out for America's Next Top Model?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Well, it's funny. I was working at Hooters and some
- 14:57Speaker 2: guy came up to me talking about like a show
- 15:00Speaker 2: and gave me a card. And I'm like, yeah, right.
- 15:02Speaker 2: And I just threw it in the garbage like, nice try, buddy.
- 15:06Speaker 2: And then my mom was like, you know, I just
- 15:08Speaker 2: saw a commercial for a supermodel show with Tyra Banks.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, no, he wasn't lying. Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 2: So I made a VHS tape of my parents fighting
- 15:21Speaker 2: because they were getting a divorce and And I was like,
- 15:24Speaker 2: get me out of this town. Get me away from
- 15:26Speaker 2: these people. I'll do anything. And they, like, chose it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: And the tape, like, on the videotape, which most kids
- 15:34Speaker 2: don't even know what that is, the VHS, I, like...
- 15:37Speaker 2: scribbled tool, nine inch nails, Pink Floyd, like all this
- 15:42Speaker 2: stupid stuff. Like on a piece of like sticky. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 2: on the sticky, on the VHS. And they said they
- 15:49Speaker 2: got it last minute and they were like, what the
- 15:51Speaker 2: hell is this? And popped it in and it was me.
- 15:55Speaker 3: So what city were you living in?
- 15:57Speaker 2: Joliet, Illinois, which is affectionately known as prison town from
- 16:02Speaker 2: the Blues Brothers, Joliet, Jake, Elwood Blues. Yeah, we have
- 16:06Speaker 2: a prison.
- 16:08Speaker 3: That's the main part of the town is the prison.
- 16:11Speaker 2: It's rough. Like anyone from Chi-Town, they'll tell you to
- 16:14Speaker 2: avoid Joliet, specifically the bars. We have a reputation.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Being that you were Hooters' waitress, would that be like
- 16:23Speaker 3: a first stop for when someone picked up their prisoner
- 16:26Speaker 3: when they got released? I would think that would be
- 16:27Speaker 3: a real treat.
- 16:28Speaker 2: No, but I always laugh because right next to us
- 16:31Speaker 2: is Crest Hill that had a maximum security prison that
- 16:34Speaker 2: actually they're the ones that put down John Wayne Gacy.
- 16:39Speaker 2: My God.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I'm like, that's what we do, where I'm from. So
- 16:46Speaker 3: when this opportunity came and you did the tape.
- 16:48Speaker 2: You were working at Hooters. How old were you? I
- 16:52Speaker 2: was 20. So I worked at Hooters and a steakhouse.
- 16:58Speaker 2: That's right. A steakhouse that is now defunct. So I
- 17:02Speaker 2: was like double shifting. open the clothes, waiting tables. Like
- 17:07Speaker 2: I still have spider veins on my legs from how
- 17:10Speaker 2: much I was on my feet. It was crazy.
- 17:13Speaker 3: So when you just growing up in this town and
- 17:14Speaker 3: you were and your parents, I guess, were, you know, fighting,
- 17:18Speaker 3: but you lived in the house with them. Like what
- 17:20Speaker 3: what what were your goals? Were you always told that
- 17:23Speaker 3: you could be a model or that you were pretty
- 17:25Speaker 3: or like when did you realize that you were an
- 17:29Speaker 3: exceptionally good looking person?
- 17:31Speaker 2: Uh, here's what's funny. All my guy friends growing up
- 17:35Speaker 2: all said the same thing after I went on Top Model.
- 17:38Speaker 2: They were like, Curry, we had no idea you were
- 17:41Speaker 2: hot under there because I always wore baggy Nine Inch
- 17:44Speaker 2: Nails t-shirts. And like I was with the same guy
- 17:47Speaker 2: for like four years. So it wasn't like I was
- 17:50Speaker 2: marketing around. But I mean, people would say you're really tall,
- 17:55Speaker 2: but you're still kind of gangly. But my teens were rough.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I used a lot of drugs very young, way younger
- 18:04Speaker 2: than anyone should. So it was funny. What kind? What
- 18:07Speaker 2: kind of drugs? I used to snort heroin so people
- 18:10Speaker 2: wouldn't see the tracks on my arms and cocaine. And
- 18:14Speaker 2: I did liquid G. I did more LSD than I
- 18:18Speaker 2: care to admit. Mushrooms. Yeah, like I was a mess.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Where did you even get introduced to a crowd that
- 18:26Speaker 3: could provide such hardcore drugs?
- 18:29Speaker 2: Drugs for you as a teenager. I always, I guess
- 18:34Speaker 2: people thought I was more mature than my years. So
- 18:37Speaker 2: I was hung out with older kids and that's where
- 18:40Speaker 2: it all was. And my town where I'm from is
- 18:43Speaker 2: well known. to be rough. So I also got into
- 18:48Speaker 2: some wheeling and dealing, but nothing too terrible, just weed
- 18:52Speaker 2: back then. But then I was popular with everyone. But
- 18:55Speaker 2: by the time I went on Top Model, the only
- 18:58Speaker 2: thing I was was a stoner. Like I got myself
- 19:02Speaker 2: off all of this shit because I had to work
- 19:04Speaker 2: a full time job all day, all night. Like you
- 19:07Speaker 2: can't sit there. And it wasn't easy. I'll say that
- 19:11Speaker 2: maybe for like two, three years, I'd be like, oops, oops, oops.
- 19:16Speaker 2: But stuff like LSD and stuff, it's not addictive. You
- 19:18Speaker 2: just stop doing it.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Well, the heroin would be though, right?
- 19:24Speaker 2: That was the dangerous one. That was the one that
- 19:27Speaker 2: you felt like shit if you didn't do it. But
- 19:29Speaker 2: lucky for me, because it was hard to come up
- 19:31Speaker 2: with money and it was hard to get it, I
- 19:33Speaker 2: would always Jones and get off that like, oh, I
- 19:36Speaker 2: need it before I could ever get it again. So
- 19:39Speaker 2: it was like rinse and repeat, use, and it's like euphoria.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And then you feel like shit for a few weeks,
- 19:46Speaker 2: you know, and then all over again. But I'm lucky
- 19:49Speaker 2: I got it all out of the way before I
- 19:51Speaker 2: started modeling, because then once I got in the industry,
- 19:54Speaker 2: it was all around me and I had no interest
- 19:56Speaker 2: at all. Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 3: So when growing up in this, you You know, did
- 20:03Speaker 3: you have aspirations for a bigger life when you'd watch
- 20:07Speaker 3: TV or look at a fashion magazine or like what
- 20:10Speaker 3: was your aspirations as you were working those two jobs
- 20:13Speaker 3: before that man gave you his card about the show?
- 20:16Speaker 2: I thought I was going to be a factory worker
- 20:18Speaker 2: like my parents. My dad worked at Clorox Bleach. My
- 20:21Speaker 2: mom worked at Kraft Nabisco making triscuits and stuff. So
- 20:26Speaker 2: that's what I thought I was going to end up doing. Um,
- 20:30Speaker 2: when people brought modeling up to me, sure, it sounded
- 20:33Speaker 2: like some like cool pipe dream, but I, I never
- 20:37Speaker 2: thought truly that I would be able to get there.
- 20:41Speaker 2: And even when I was on the show, I was like,
- 20:42Speaker 2: there's no way they're going to let the stoner win.
- 20:46Speaker 2: There's no way, especially back then. Like, I'm sorry, but
- 20:51Speaker 2: the Jay and Silent Bob crowd like wasn't shined upon,
- 20:54Speaker 2: you know, like I'm sitting there quoting Jay and Silent
- 20:58Speaker 2: Bob the whole time. And then it was me and
- 21:01Speaker 2: the Christian girl as the final one. I'm like, done.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I'm out. Like I 100% thought it was hers because
- 21:09Speaker 2: I was like, there's no network, no brand. No one's
- 21:12Speaker 2: going to want to work with me. Because Tyra told
- 21:14Speaker 2: me every day, you're so rough around the edges and
- 21:17Speaker 2: you're so ghetto.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Okay, let's get into that. So you do this very clever,
- 21:23Speaker 3: funny tape. And we know now, especially from the doc
- 21:28Speaker 3: that came out, that they were really looking for reality stars,
- 21:32Speaker 3: in my opinion, that they could shape into a model
- 21:37Speaker 3: and wanted these stories. I mean, there's been some really
- 21:39Speaker 3: funny stories. TikTok and trends that have come from watching
- 21:44Speaker 3: the doc where people will go, I don't know if
- 21:46Speaker 3: you've seen it, but they'll be like, this is me
- 21:48Speaker 3: telling America's Next Top Model that my grandmother died on
- 21:53Speaker 3: a chicken bone. And then they're like, you know, or
- 21:56Speaker 3: going down, my grandmother died going down the stairs. So
- 21:59Speaker 3: now I'm doing my photo shoot, like as my head
- 22:01Speaker 3: falls on the stairs, because we saw that in there. So,
- 22:04Speaker 3: you know, they liked people with an interesting backstory. So
- 22:07Speaker 3: that's so interesting that you I would think if someone
- 22:12Speaker 3: said to me, we're looking to find people to make
- 22:15Speaker 3: them a top model, you should do it.
- 22:17Speaker 2: And then I had to do a tape.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I would be getting all gussied up, wearing a black
- 22:23Speaker 3: dress and nylons and heels and having my mom show
- 22:26Speaker 3: me to model. You were so smart, even if it
- 22:29Speaker 3: wasn't intentional, but you were like, that was so clever
- 22:33Speaker 3: just to show your funny, dry sense of humor.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Just myself. And what's funny is I went to the semifinals.
- 22:40Speaker 2: And my grandma and my mom took me to TJ
- 22:42Speaker 2: Maxx and we didn't have very much money, but they
- 22:45Speaker 2: pulled together because they're like, you cannot wear your clothes here.
- 22:50Speaker 2: You can't do it. I was like, what? They're like,
- 22:52Speaker 2: no nine inch nails, no Pink Floyd, no spiked collars,
- 22:55Speaker 2: no bandanas. You cannot go. So they bought me girl
- 22:58Speaker 2: clothes and they were brand new tags, everything. And I
- 23:02Speaker 2: went on the semifinals and And I think Tyra wasn't
- 23:06Speaker 2: interested in picking me. And Ken Mock sat down to
- 23:09Speaker 2: interview me. And he told me after the show that
- 23:12Speaker 2: Tyra was like, I don't know, like she's boring. And
- 23:16Speaker 2: he went up to her and he was like, she
- 23:17Speaker 2: is reality TV gold. You have to choose her. He's like,
- 23:23Speaker 2: trust me, because in the interview, he's like, are you
- 23:25Speaker 2: comfortable like wearing this? I'm like, no, I was like,
- 23:30Speaker 2: I just put this shit on because my mom told
- 23:32Speaker 2: me to.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Ken was the executive producer that we see in the series.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yes. Behind the scenes. Yes.
- 23:40Speaker 3: So when you get the word that you're going, how many.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Girls is it to start? I think it was 10. Originally,
- 23:47Speaker 2: they chose eight and then they added two others in
- 23:50Speaker 2: the house while I was there. And I just figured
- 23:56Speaker 2: I'm probably going to go home for a second. Cause
- 23:58Speaker 2: you have to understand I roll in here and no
- 24:02Speaker 2: one is like me. And I felt so out of place.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Like I just did not belong there. Everyone was very feminine,
- 24:11Speaker 2: very girly, very into fashion. I couldn't name a fashion
- 24:15Speaker 2: designer to save my life. Like I shopped at venture
- 24:19Speaker 2: and TJ Maxx and like, Salvation Army growing up. I
- 24:24Speaker 2: was not buying like cool bags or any of that.
- 24:28Speaker 2: So I just felt really overwhelmed because I thought like,
- 24:31Speaker 2: what if they have challenges? Like, what's Louis Vuitton? I
- 24:34Speaker 2: don't effing know. You know, like, I don't know what
- 24:37Speaker 2: any of this is.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you thought they would have a fashion challenge like
- 24:39Speaker 3: your knowledge. That's so funny. What was your relationship with makeup?
- 24:44Speaker 2: I mean, I was abysmal at it. I have never
- 24:47Speaker 2: looked worse in my life. than when I did my
- 24:50Speaker 2: own makeup on that show because I normally didn't wear makeup.
- 24:54Speaker 2: So I thought makeup was just putting like one shade
- 24:57Speaker 2: of eyeshadow on and maybe some mascara. I looked awful
- 25:03Speaker 2: until they put me in a professional makeup chair and
- 25:06Speaker 2: had somebody do up my face. And then I looked,
- 25:09Speaker 2: I remember the first time they did up my face,
- 25:11Speaker 2: I almost cried because I had no idea.
- 25:13Speaker 3: That I could ever look that way. Yeah, because you
- 25:17Speaker 3: have such great eyes. I think it's like a make
- 25:20Speaker 3: our artist dream.
- 25:21Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 25:22Speaker 3: To like to make them up and play with them.
- 25:25Speaker 3: And you probably just didn't see them that way. I
- 25:26Speaker 3: didn't know what I was doing.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Like whatever I was doing was the polar opposite of
- 25:31Speaker 2: what you should do to look good. I was committed
- 25:36Speaker 2: to it for a really long time. I still kind
- 25:38Speaker 2: of am.
- 25:39Speaker 3: So, I mean, how did you feel about having the
- 25:42Speaker 3: mic pack on and cameras around you all the time?
- 25:44Speaker 3: Did you think it was fun? Did you bond with anybody?
- 25:48Speaker 3: How long was the whole process? I just asked you
- 25:50Speaker 3: three questions.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Okay. The mic pack back then was probably the size
- 25:56Speaker 2: of this on your back. I mean, it was bad
- 26:00Speaker 2: and it hurt and I was bruised all the time.
- 26:02Speaker 2: It was weird because you're followed around by a crew
- 26:06Speaker 2: that doesn't talk to you. I immediately bonded with the
- 26:09Speaker 2: first girl who got eliminated because she smoked cigarettes and
- 26:13Speaker 2: I did. And I'm like, well, look at how that
- 26:14Speaker 2: worked out for me. I lucked out because no one
- 26:18Speaker 2: wanted a room with the lesbian, but it was just
- 26:22Speaker 2: a room with two beds. And I'm like, I don't
- 26:24Speaker 2: want to sleep with the rest of these bitches. And
- 26:26Speaker 2: I was like, do you have a girlfriend? She's like, yes, honey.
- 26:28Speaker 2: And I'm like, boom, I'm taking this room with only
- 26:31Speaker 2: one other girl. I don't want to stay with the
- 26:35Speaker 2: rest of them. But it was really weird because you're
- 26:40Speaker 2: locked down for over, well, the longer you stay, over
- 26:43Speaker 2: two months. I had no cell phone or anything, so
- 26:46Speaker 2: that didn't matter to me. But our phone calls had
- 26:49Speaker 2: to be monitored, no news, no reading the newspaper, like
- 26:52Speaker 2: you were sequestered from the entire world. And it's like
- 26:59Speaker 2: psychological warfare. You get so immersed in this world. It's like,
- 27:05Speaker 2: I don't even know how to describe it. It's almost
- 27:07Speaker 2: like everyone's given a bump of cocaine and told at
- 27:10Speaker 2: the end of this hallway is more. Amazing.
- 27:16Speaker 3: So now when you start coming down to the end
- 27:20Speaker 3: and you actually win it, what's the next thing? Like
- 27:25Speaker 3: how far was there between you winning it and it
- 27:29Speaker 3: airing and being like an instant hit?
- 27:31Speaker 2: So I won it... end of February and the world
- 27:38Speaker 2: didn't see me win it until sometime in July. And
- 27:42Speaker 2: I couldn't tell anyone. And it's funny because I was
- 27:46Speaker 2: just talking to my little cousin who used to run
- 27:49Speaker 2: my top model fan club. He's a huge top model fan.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I mean, oh, gee, a gay boy who would have thought.
- 27:57Speaker 2: But I was talking to him and he was like,
- 27:59Speaker 2: what was so weird? He's like, it was airing. You
- 28:02Speaker 2: came to my house during episode three and you hadn't
- 28:06Speaker 2: watched the show and we were going to watch it.
- 28:08Speaker 2: And he's like, you were so uncomfortable. And then you
- 28:12Speaker 2: were like, well, I guess I'll see what this is.
- 28:13Speaker 2: And I watched like a second. I was like, OK,
- 28:15Speaker 2: I'll catch you guys later. And I left because I
- 28:17Speaker 2: was I was scared to watch it because I hated
- 28:20Speaker 2: the way I looked and the way I sounded. But
- 28:23Speaker 2: then I also was scared that people around me would like,
- 28:26Speaker 2: I don't know, effing read my mind. Like, you won it,
- 28:29Speaker 2: didn't you? So I'm like, get it away. I don't
- 28:31Speaker 2: want to look at it.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Because they freaked you out so much, like you're going
- 28:35Speaker 3: to be sued for $ 25 million if you break the
- 28:38Speaker 3: NDA or whatever.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah. So, I mean, mom, it was the biggest secret
- 28:43Speaker 2: I ever kept. My boyfriend of four years dumped me.
- 28:47Speaker 2: And all I wanted to say is, I just won
- 28:51Speaker 2: the show, you son of a bitch. And I couldn't
- 28:53Speaker 2: do it. I had to just sit there and be like, why? Oh,
- 28:57Speaker 2: my God. Yeah.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I would have risked being sued for the $ 25 million.
- 29:04Speaker 3: There's no way I could have held that back if
- 29:05Speaker 3: somebody dumped me and I was America's.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Next top model. It was hard.
- 29:09Speaker 3: So during that time, because no one could know, you
- 29:12Speaker 3: weren't obviously working as a model.
- 29:14Speaker 2: So you went back to your hometown.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Did you start picking up shifts at Hooters again or
- 29:19Speaker 3: did you just chill out?
- 29:20Speaker 2: I was no longer at Hooters and I was just
- 29:23Speaker 2: working at the steakhouse. At that point. And then I
- 29:27Speaker 2: remember the.
- 29:27Speaker 3: People at the steakhouse like start to say, oh, my gosh,
- 29:30Speaker 3: we heard that you're going to be on this show.
- 29:32Speaker 2: We're going to have to watch you, dear. So then
- 29:35Speaker 2: it got weird because it started getting popular. So I
- 29:39Speaker 2: quit my job and I told them it was because
- 29:42Speaker 2: it's getting too weird. Like there's kind of weird people
- 29:45Speaker 2: coming in here now bothering me just about the show.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I'm just trying to make some paper. But really, I
- 29:50Speaker 2: was getting prepared to leave and go to New York
- 29:54Speaker 2: and like do Regis and Kelly. That's how old this is.
- 29:59Speaker 3: And did they pay you anything for the two months
- 30:05Speaker 3: that you were there?
- 30:05Speaker 2: I think we got a little per diem, but like
- 30:10Speaker 2: I spent it on food, you know, so I was hungry.
- 30:14Speaker 3: So essentially, no, it's not like you guys each got $ 10, 000
- 30:17Speaker 3: or whatever. No.
- 30:21Speaker 2: No, no. But while I was on the show, it's funny.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Most of what Tyra told me and all of us,
- 30:27Speaker 2: we were going to win. She did voiceovers later to
- 30:30Speaker 2: change it, which I thought was very strange. It went
- 30:33Speaker 2: from you're going to be a big Revlon cover girl, blah, blah, blah,
- 30:36Speaker 2: to the opportunity to be one. I was like, that's
- 30:40Speaker 2: that's weird. That's that wasn't said to us. they made
- 30:43Speaker 2: it seem like we were going to win the lottery,
- 30:45Speaker 2: that we would be instantly wealthy. And your girl over here,
- 30:48Speaker 2: my mom was about to lose her house in the divorce.
- 30:51Speaker 2: In fact, the day that I won Top Model, my
- 30:54Speaker 2: parents' divorce was finalized and my mom was ordered to
- 30:57Speaker 2: sell the house and give him half, which would have
- 30:59Speaker 2: left my grandma and my mom without a house. So
- 31:03Speaker 2: I thought if I could just win this thing, I
- 31:06Speaker 2: can save my family. And that became my obsession. So
- 31:11Speaker 2: I felt like most of the girls like, I want
- 31:13Speaker 2: a model. I really want this. And I was like,
- 31:14Speaker 2: I want the money.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Were you able to help them with that house situation?
- 31:22Speaker 2: I probably netted like gross after Uncle Sam and commissions
- 31:27Speaker 2: just slightly over $ 5, 000 from what I won on that show.
- 31:32Speaker 2: What was the price? The prize was a spread in
- 31:36Speaker 2: Marie Claire, and Beau Quillian was awesome, the editor of
- 31:39Speaker 2: Marie Claire. He gave me a spread in Spanish Marie Claire,
- 31:42Speaker 2: but those pay like a couple hundred bucks, right? So then...
- 31:47Speaker 2: The Revlon beauty contract turned out to be a job
- 31:52Speaker 2: where I went to Revlon and I didn't know this.
- 31:55Speaker 2: So I'm waiting to hear all about my new contract
- 31:58Speaker 2: and stuff. They're like, OK, come this Saturday and I'll
- 32:02Speaker 2: sit in a boardroom. And I had that makeup artist
- 32:06Speaker 2: literally be like, and this is our new color lilac
- 32:09Speaker 2: and put it on my lips for like three executives.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And I was like, OK, this is like before the
- 32:16Speaker 2: big campaign. No, darling. What I won was to sit
- 32:20Speaker 2: in a back room at Revlon and have people put
- 32:22Speaker 2: blush on my cheeks to show big executives what the
- 32:25Speaker 2: new colors were. And when I asked them about it,
- 32:29Speaker 2: I got so humiliated. It felt like a humiliation ritual
- 32:33Speaker 2: because she was like, we never planned on using any
- 32:37Speaker 2: winner from the show for any campaign. And I was like, what?
- 32:42Speaker 2: I cried my eyes out walking down the street. I
- 32:45Speaker 2: don't remember if it was 10 or 15 grand, but
- 32:48Speaker 2: after your agency and Uncle Sam take some and I,
- 32:52Speaker 2: you know, wasn't incorporated or anything. I'm just like a
- 32:56Speaker 2: normal person. So like you get raked over the coals.
- 32:59Speaker 2: I had nothing left and I had moved to Manhattan.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Which is how much money. And then they're doing test shoots.
- 33:06Speaker 2: So I was negative in the hole and I actually
- 33:09Speaker 2: bankrupted my mother borrowing money from her after winning the show.
- 33:15Speaker 2: It was bad. But luckily, all my uncles came together
- 33:18Speaker 2: and helped save her house. So yeah, I was locked
- 33:22Speaker 2: in this contract with Wilhelmina that I was mismanaged. They
- 33:26Speaker 2: can pretend that I wasn't, but I know I was.
- 33:29Speaker 2: We were mega stars in Hong Kong and they sent
- 33:32Speaker 2: Elise there, the third runner up and not me. Yet
- 33:35Speaker 2: my cousin was the president of my fan club and
- 33:39Speaker 2: all my fans were from Hong Kong. So I mean,
- 33:41Speaker 2: major celebrities over there. So I'm like, are you going
- 33:44Speaker 2: to send me? They're like, well, we already sent another girl.
- 33:46Speaker 2: We're going to send you to South Africa. The show
- 33:48Speaker 2: had never aired there. No one cared. I was like,
- 33:51Speaker 2: what is going on? So once I got out of
- 33:54Speaker 2: that contract is when your girl went full scorched earth
- 33:59Speaker 2: with like surreal life and interviews where I was like,
- 34:02Speaker 2: F Tyra Banks. And I got blacklisted from that show
- 34:07Speaker 2: so hard that they showed every single winner, every cycle
- 34:10Speaker 2: except yours truly. Because I was mad. Yeah.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I can understand. So how did it
- 34:18Speaker 3: come about that this real life and all that stuff came?
- 34:22Speaker 3: So you were able to do enough between America's Got
- 34:26Speaker 3: America's desktop model and to get your name out there. Obviously,
- 34:30Speaker 3: they knew you from the show and your big personality.
- 34:32Speaker 3: So did an agent then approach you like, hey, there's
- 34:36Speaker 3: this other reality show coming or like what were the
- 34:38Speaker 3: opportunities that did come?
- 34:39Speaker 2: So someone I knew in New York that was not
- 34:42Speaker 2: a jerk. had heard that there was interest in me
- 34:46Speaker 2: about this show for The Surreal Life. And I looked
- 34:48Speaker 2: into it and I was like, oh, it's like a
- 34:50Speaker 2: bunch of people from yesteryear. Like, what do they want
- 34:53Speaker 2: from me? Because we filmed at the end of 2004,
- 34:57Speaker 2: but I won Top Model July 2003. So it wasn't
- 35:01Speaker 2: like I was that yesterday's news. Well, their idea was,
- 35:05Speaker 2: is I would make the other cast members feel uncomfortable
- 35:08Speaker 2: because I was current and relevant. And I was like,
- 35:11Speaker 2: that's mean. I don't want to do that. So then
- 35:16Speaker 2: they tell me that Ken Mock had contacted them because
- 35:19Speaker 2: he didn't want me to be on the show. And
- 35:21Speaker 2: I literally was like, give me the effing pen. I'm
- 35:26Speaker 2: signing this right now. And I just, I signed it over.
- 35:31Speaker 3: And it's because you were vocal about the experience.
- 35:34Speaker 2: And that was... They thought the Surreal Life would make
- 35:38Speaker 2: Top Model look trashy. And that's what they told the producers.
- 35:41Speaker 2: So my plan was, I'm going to go on the
- 35:43Speaker 2: Surreal Life. I'm going to treat it like spring break.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I'm going to hit the bar every single effing day.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Eff them. And that's what I did. I mean, I'm not...
- 35:55Speaker 2: I'm not proud of it. Most people's spring breaks aren't
- 35:58Speaker 2: on national television, but mine was.
- 36:00Speaker 3: And how many weeks were you there in that house
- 36:03Speaker 3: filming the show?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Three? Three weeks, I think. And remind us.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Of your castmates. You were season three, right? Four. Four.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Okay, four. It was Marcus Shakenberg, which I thought was funny.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Who's that?
- 36:19Speaker 2: He's a male supermodel. If you saw him, you'd recognize
- 36:22Speaker 2: him from Calvin Klein and stuff. My ex-husband, Christopher Knight.
- 36:26Speaker 3: From the Brady Brunch.
- 36:28Speaker 2: We'll get into that in a minute. Vern Troyer. Mini-me.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Who was the little person from... Austin Powers. Austin Powers, yeah. Chyna,
- 36:37Speaker 2: the wrestler. Right. Da Brat, the rapper, and Jane Whelan
- 36:42Speaker 2: from the Go-Go's, and yours truly. Wow. Yeah, like what?
- 36:48Speaker 2: It was such a fun show to watch.
- 36:52Speaker 3: You know, sadly, some of your cast members are no
- 36:55Speaker 3: longer with us.
- 36:55Speaker 2: That's so sad.
- 36:57Speaker 3: But, I mean, a classic one was when Vern, who
- 37:02Speaker 3: clearly had an alcohol problem— But also, I think drinking
- 37:06Speaker 3: like a regular-sized person and just being smaller probably didn't
- 37:09Speaker 3: help the situation. But, you know, his drunken antics and
- 37:14Speaker 3: he rolled off the bed or you had to put him.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Back on the bed. He peed on the floor.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh.
- 37:18Speaker 2: He went and peed on the floor after being naked
- 37:20Speaker 2: on a scooter. And he was completely blacked out. He
- 37:23Speaker 2: had no memory of that night. So he had to wait.
- 37:26Speaker 2: until afterwards to see that. And I feel bad for
- 37:28Speaker 2: him because he eventually died from drinking to death. And Chyna,
- 37:33Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure, was doing meth the whole time because
- 37:36Speaker 2: she did not sleep. Really? Girl, when her boyfriend came
- 37:41Speaker 2: there fighting with her, I had to steal her bag
- 37:43Speaker 2: of goodies. And it had only been like, what, three
- 37:47Speaker 2: years since I stopped doing goodies? Because I thought she
- 37:51Speaker 2: was going to hurt herself. So I find her bag
- 37:53Speaker 2: of goodies and I'm like, Oh, like she's got lots
- 37:58Speaker 2: of stuff in here. It was hard for me to
- 38:01Speaker 2: have it, but I hid it because I didn't want
- 38:02Speaker 2: her to, you know, go the way of the dodo. Wow.
- 38:08Speaker 3: And so that's where you met Christopher Knight, better known
- 38:12Speaker 3: as Peter Brady for the Brady Bunch. He was what,
- 38:17Speaker 3: 18 years older than you at the time?
- 38:19Speaker 2: Twenty five.
- 38:19Speaker 3: 25 years age difference. Though he was a good-looking guy,
- 38:24Speaker 3: is a good-looking guy, he looked younger. But that also
- 38:27Speaker 3: was very fun for the audience to kind of watch
- 38:31Speaker 3: this real-life romance unfold in front of us.
- 38:35Speaker 2: See, what's funny, what a lot of people didn't know,
- 38:38Speaker 2: is his mother was dying while we were on the show.
- 38:41Speaker 2: And he didn't let... He wasn't going to talk about
- 38:44Speaker 2: it on camera, but he told me. So I felt,
- 38:48Speaker 2: you know... What do you feel when you're a woman?
- 38:51Speaker 2: Someone's ma is dying. Like I felt very like protective
- 38:55Speaker 2: of him because I'm like, shit, he's stuck in here
- 38:58Speaker 2: and his mom's going downhill. Like I believe she died
- 39:01Speaker 2: like a week or two after filming. Yeah, it was
- 39:05Speaker 2: really bad. So we connected because of that, which is
- 39:09Speaker 2: funny because everyone sees what's on camera. But the like
- 39:11Speaker 2: underlining thing is I was like trying to be supportive
- 39:14Speaker 2: to him because his mom was really sick.
- 39:17Speaker 3: And, you know, this was just a show to put these,
- 39:21Speaker 3: you know, eccentric characters together. But they're actually you guys
- 39:26Speaker 3: actually like fell in love.
- 39:27Speaker 2: And but.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Just like a dating show like The Bachelor I can
- 39:32Speaker 3: see why it happens and Because it's a reality show
- 39:36Speaker 3: where you don't have your phones, you're not cooking, you're
- 39:38Speaker 3: not cleaning, you're not working, you're not talking to your family.
- 39:40Speaker 2: There's nothing else to do. Yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 3: And you're just sort of in this isolated situation where
- 39:46Speaker 3: it's like literally.
- 39:46Speaker 2: One of those things.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Like I, you know, maybe if you were the last
- 39:50Speaker 3: person on a deserted.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Island, I'd take you essentially. He's going to be Werner.
- 39:57Speaker 6: Yeah, no.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Right. And it was always so funny because everyone's like, oh,
- 40:02Speaker 2: you just liked him because you wanted to rise your star.
- 40:05Speaker 2: And I remember he looked at me and he's like,
- 40:08Speaker 2: you I never watched the Brady Bunch. I hated it
- 40:11Speaker 2: growing up. It was not my show. Any reference people
- 40:14Speaker 2: would say to him. And I mean, with genuine like,
- 40:17Speaker 2: what does that mean? Like, I remember the first time
- 40:20Speaker 2: someone said pork chops and applesauce to him. And I
- 40:23Speaker 2: was like, what does this mean? And he... Chops and applesauce. Well,
- 40:27Speaker 2: he loved the fact that I didn't know that. And
- 40:30Speaker 2: I would... That's so funny. I would always joke. Like,
- 40:32Speaker 2: I always thought I'd be with some rock and roll dude,
- 40:35Speaker 2: not him. And, you know, we didn't work out. I
- 40:37Speaker 2: wasn't the first. I'm not the last. And that's okay
- 40:41Speaker 2: because I learned a lot of what I need in
- 40:44Speaker 2: a relationship from that one. You know, so I'm grateful.
- 40:47Speaker 2: But then it did.
- 40:49Speaker 3: um spark and and have these spin-offs you did so
- 40:53Speaker 3: many shows after that as a couple so how did
- 40:56Speaker 3: they approach you and say would you guys now do
- 40:59Speaker 3: a show just the two of you what was which
- 41:01Speaker 3: what was that called again uh it was my fair
- 41:03Speaker 3: brady and my fair brady i mean i remember i
- 41:06Speaker 3: watched a lot of it i thought it was very
- 41:08Speaker 3: entertaining i mean you guys butted heads but it was
- 41:11Speaker 3: really is funny to watch you know.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I think after learning we were living with each other
- 41:17Speaker 2: and that it wasn't for like a week, I think
- 41:20Speaker 2: the producers were like, are you effing kidding me? And
- 41:23Speaker 2: that's when they were like, Hey, what do you think
- 41:27Speaker 2: about this? And I mean, I was young like today,
- 41:31Speaker 2: hell no. Would I ever agree to, I mean, I
- 41:34Speaker 2: won't touch a reality TV show with a 10 foot pole.
- 41:37Speaker 2: I always say never say never, but I just, I'm
- 41:40Speaker 2: so fried out. I'm so done. Yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Now, was that a profitable situation for you guys to
- 41:47Speaker 3: take on since it was just the two of you
- 41:49Speaker 3: and it was the star of your own show?
- 41:51Speaker 2: More so for him. And I was okay with that
- 41:54Speaker 2: because I just wanted to make him happy. But, I mean,
- 41:57Speaker 2: in the grand scheme of things, people think a TV
- 42:00Speaker 2: show is going to make you all this money. It
- 42:02Speaker 2: sure does when you're the executive producer or the creator,
- 42:06Speaker 2: but as the talent. And I was very young and
- 42:10Speaker 2: very dumb back then. And I was just like, OK, whatever.
- 42:14Speaker 2: I want everyone to be happy. And I always put
- 42:17Speaker 2: myself last. But I mean, it was OK money, but
- 42:21Speaker 2: it's like low six figures. It wasn't like some it
- 42:25Speaker 2: wasn't like four hundred thousand dollars or anything. And where
- 42:29Speaker 2: were you guys living when you were filming? Was it
- 42:31Speaker 2: near the beach or something? First was Manhattan Beach and
- 42:35Speaker 2: then it was Hermosa Beach.
- 42:38Speaker 3: And that must have been kind of fun.
- 42:40Speaker 2: You know what? The beach community is not my vibe, man.
- 42:44Speaker 2: I'm more of like a mountain girl. I felt like
- 42:47Speaker 2: I walked into a Stepford Wives movie set. I did
- 42:51Speaker 2: not feel like I belonged at all. I just felt
- 42:55Speaker 2: like white trash in a sea of money. In Manhattan Beach.
- 42:59Speaker 2: That's so interesting. I did not feel good there. I
- 43:03Speaker 2: was very self-conscious. And what was your wedding like? Um...
- 43:09Speaker 2: It was hot, huge. All my family was there. I'm
- 43:17Speaker 2: glad it happened because I have so many precious photos
- 43:21Speaker 2: of people who are no longer with me. But I've
- 43:24Speaker 2: learned to not live my life regretting things because there's
- 43:27Speaker 2: times I've been up late at night like, oh, my God,
- 43:30Speaker 2: my entire 20s is such a humiliation and anyone can
- 43:33Speaker 2: watch it over and over on like Hulu. Like, please, Lord.
- 43:37Speaker 2: take me away from what I've done to myself. But
- 43:39Speaker 2: then I'm like, I wouldn't be where I am today
- 43:41Speaker 2: if I wasn't such an idiot back then. So I guess,
- 43:46Speaker 2: you know. And the wedding was filmed, right?
- 43:48Speaker 5: Yes.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Yes, it was.
- 43:50Speaker 3: And so then how many seasons did you do of
- 43:53Speaker 3: that with him? How much time?
- 43:55Speaker 2: I think it was three. But by the third season,
- 43:59Speaker 2: I felt like they were really pushing me to have
- 44:02Speaker 2: a baby and I wanted to have a baby. But
- 44:04Speaker 2: then there was this weird thing I was feeling like,
- 44:07Speaker 2: do I really want to have a baby where it's
- 44:09Speaker 2: on TV? And that's when we realized we clashed about
- 44:13Speaker 2: a lot of our beliefs. I didn't want to raise
- 44:16Speaker 2: a kid like I didn't want an Epo baby. I
- 44:19Speaker 2: wanted a kid that knew the value of a dollar
- 44:21Speaker 2: that worked, that doesn't get like a car when they're
- 44:24Speaker 2: 16 just because they turn 16. Like, you got to
- 44:26Speaker 2: earn it. We just weren't on the same page with
- 44:29Speaker 2: that kind of stuff, which is really important.
- 44:33Speaker 3: And how was he? maintaining, making money all these years
- 44:38Speaker 3: from being a child star?
- 44:40Speaker 2: No effing clue. I know we worked in computers and stuff.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Like I honestly, all of our stuff was separate the
- 44:47Speaker 2: entire time. And I never gave a shit about money.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I just don't. I always tell them I'm the world's
- 44:56Speaker 2: cheapest wife. The wedding ring was free. The engagement ring
- 45:00Speaker 2: was free through a diamond company I used to model for.
- 45:04Speaker 2: And then when we divorced, I didn't even hire a lawyer.
- 45:07Speaker 2: I'm like, take anything you want. I'm just taking my clothes.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Just be gone. That's it. Like, I don't care. So
- 45:14Speaker 2: how long were you married total? Well, we were together
- 45:17Speaker 2: for seven years and married for five, which I think
- 45:20Speaker 2: in Hollywood's like 9000 years. Yeah, that is significant.
- 45:25Speaker 3: And during that time, I saw that, you know, you
- 45:30Speaker 3: You know, we're doing a lot of modeling and you
- 45:32Speaker 3: got the Maxim Hot 100. You were number 25 or something.
- 45:36Speaker 3: And then you also did Playboy really loved you. You
- 45:40Speaker 3: did several shoots for Playboy.
- 45:42Speaker 2: How was that? I'm really proud. I looked at Stephen Wada,
- 45:47Speaker 2: the celebrity photographer for Playboy, and he had an art
- 45:51Speaker 2: show overseas in Sweden or something. And he had pictures
- 45:55Speaker 2: up from my second spread. And someone was like, this
- 45:57Speaker 2: pictorial is so film noir. It's so beautiful. And he
- 46:01Speaker 2: was like, half said that it was the best spread
- 46:04Speaker 2: in all his 50 years. And I was like, well,
- 46:07Speaker 2: that makes me feel good. I have some regrets. Looking back,
- 46:12Speaker 2: I am just as beautiful with clothes on. I'm like, really,
- 46:18Speaker 2: did I do that? But I think there was an
- 46:20Speaker 2: underlying current where I just wanted to piss off Tyra
- 46:23Speaker 2: Banks and Ken Mock. And she hated Playboy. And I
- 46:26Speaker 2: swear to God that that was like ingrained in me
- 46:31Speaker 2: is this just guns blazing middle fingers in the air.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Every second I could was to spite them. I was
- 46:39Speaker 2: very angry for a long time. I was mad.
- 46:42Speaker 3: And Why do you think you were so angry with them?
- 46:46Speaker 2: Because I really believed them. I really believed that winning
- 46:50Speaker 2: top model, I would be able to save my mother.
- 46:53Speaker 2: They told me I would be the next Giselle, the
- 46:56Speaker 2: next Tyra, that all the work was already done, that
- 46:59Speaker 2: she would manage my career. She managed Eva's career with
- 47:03Speaker 2: her manager, which was the third winner, who never talks
- 47:06Speaker 2: bad about her. And I wouldn't either because I'd be like, oh, shit,
- 47:09Speaker 2: you gave me what you said I was going to get.
- 47:11Speaker 2: But They knew that I was poor and they weaponized
- 47:17Speaker 2: it against me so badly. And I believed them so
- 47:22Speaker 2: completely that I think the devastation I felt because I
- 47:26Speaker 2: was young and immature just came out as just rage.
- 47:30Speaker 2: And now I'm grateful for it because I feel like
- 47:32Speaker 2: it's like character development. I always say we're like a diamond,
- 47:37Speaker 2: a many faceted diamond. And each trial and tribulation just
- 47:41Speaker 2: puts another shiny facet in it. So I'm like, I'm
- 47:44Speaker 2: just over here shining. Most people have never been through
- 47:48Speaker 2: stuff like that. Back then, the fans would tell me,
- 47:51Speaker 2: you're just ungrateful. You're just this and that because people
- 47:55Speaker 2: didn't understand that they voiceovered what they were telling us
- 47:58Speaker 2: on the show. Tyra was like, well, you had to
- 48:01Speaker 2: work for it. I'm like, no, you told me if
- 48:05Speaker 2: I won this, that I'd be instantly rich, that I'd
- 48:08Speaker 2: be a Revlon cover girl and work begets work. So
- 48:12Speaker 2: if you have a Revlon campaign and that's in your portfolio,
- 48:15Speaker 2: you're hitting the ground running. I didn't have that. And
- 48:18Speaker 2: I used to get jealous of the other winners, even
- 48:21Speaker 2: though they gave them like shoddy cover girl ads in
- 48:23Speaker 2: the back of an Us Weekly ad. It's still a
- 48:26Speaker 2: CoverGirl ad. It's still something you could put in your portfolio.
- 48:29Speaker 2: And I had to like come to terms. I think
- 48:32Speaker 2: I was at Sephora and I was looking at Ioana House,
- 48:35Speaker 2: the second winner, and she's in a big advertisement. And
- 48:39Speaker 2: I was so jealous and I was so upset. And
- 48:41Speaker 2: then I was like, it's not her fault. I should
- 48:43Speaker 2: be grateful and happy that the other winners are getting
- 48:48Speaker 2: what they were told because why would I want anyone
- 48:50Speaker 2: to feel this way? And I'm really glad I checked
- 48:53Speaker 2: that so early because then I was like, just hate
- 48:56Speaker 2: Tyra and Ken. That's amazing though.
- 49:01Speaker 3: That's a really, yeah, it takes a while for all
- 49:05Speaker 3: of us to get to that place of like, You know,
- 49:09Speaker 3: this person's success is not going to take anything away
- 49:12Speaker 3: from my situation or my life or my success. And like,
- 49:17Speaker 3: where is that coming from?
- 49:18Speaker 2: And that's so, yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 3: And then also Playboy at that time, was such a
- 49:24Speaker 3: coup and they really paid well to their celebrity people.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I came in right when they stopped paying well. God,
- 49:33Speaker 2: your life.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I swear to God.
- 49:35Speaker 2: It was so funny because I remember when my manager
- 49:38Speaker 2: negotiated the first one and I'm like, this is low.
- 49:41Speaker 2: And he's like, Playboy's not making what they used to,
- 49:44Speaker 2: all this other stuff. And I was like, I thought
- 49:47Speaker 2: I'd be like walking with a million people I don't know, 500,000,
- 49:50Speaker 2: like 400,000, maybe even 300,000? No.
- 49:57Speaker 3: When they would do like the celebrity, like I remember
- 49:59Speaker 3: Carney Wilson was in it because she went through gastric
- 50:03Speaker 3: bypass and it was like, she's doing it. And I
- 50:06Speaker 3: remember my friend, Jillian Barbary, who was the newscaster in LA.
- 50:11Speaker 2: And she was very sexy. I really like her. She
- 50:13Speaker 2: was always really nice to me.
- 50:14Speaker 3: She was always so nice to, I mean, she is
- 50:17Speaker 3: a very nice person, but she was always very generous.
- 50:19Speaker 3: And again, the most non-jealous supportive of other women person.
- 50:24Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 50:25Speaker 3: And, uh, And they offered her, I remember from what
- 50:29Speaker 3: she told me, like $ 400, 000.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Woo, that's, I would have took that in two seconds.
- 50:34Speaker 2: I'd be like, yeah. She regrets not taking it.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Because also she's like, you know what, there's that, you know,
- 50:42Speaker 3: what is it?
- 50:44Speaker 2: Is wasted on the youth or some... Youth is wasted
- 50:47Speaker 2: on the young. Yeah, youth is wasted on the young, yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 3: But it's also like, you'll never be as young as today.
- 50:53Speaker 3: You know, I do believe people get prettier over time and,
- 50:57Speaker 3: you know, everything.
- 50:58Speaker 2: But like.
- 51:00Speaker 3: To think, oh, my God, I could have had these,
- 51:01Speaker 3: you know, fabulous photos of me done with the best photographers,
- 51:05Speaker 3: the best makeup and the best lighting forever. But it
- 51:09Speaker 3: was like taboo. It was still you're naked and you're,
- 51:14Speaker 3: you know, showing your body.
- 51:16Speaker 2: And see, they got me. This is where they really
- 51:19Speaker 2: got me. They're like, we will put you in the
- 51:21Speaker 2: supermodel section. And for the first time in my life.
- 51:24Speaker 2: I finally was listed with Cindy Crawford and what's her name? Angela.
- 51:30Speaker 2: She's the redhead. Really pretty. Oh, I know.
- 51:34Speaker 3: I know exactly who you mean. I see her in
- 51:36Speaker 3: my in my head.
- 51:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:38Speaker 3: And she was because she was like the only redhead.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:41Speaker 3: She was always popping and she was always like dating
- 51:44Speaker 3: someone exciting.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Yes. Totally. Yes. So I remember going to Playboy West once.
- 51:49Speaker 2: And like the wall of supermodels. And I was like, finally,
- 51:53Speaker 2: there I am. I know it's not real, but I
- 51:56Speaker 2: could say I was a supermodel for Playboy only. And
- 52:00Speaker 2: I certainly didn't make $ 400, 000.
- 52:02Speaker 3: And did anybody in your life have any kind of
- 52:07Speaker 3: issue with that spread?
- 52:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I broke my grandmother's heart. And that's when
- 52:13Speaker 2: I was younger and I would do things without thinking.
- 52:16Speaker 2: And I was raised very Italian Catholic. My grandma's full-blooded Calabrian.
- 52:22Speaker 2: And she lived with me from birth, raising me, taking
- 52:25Speaker 2: me to church. So she's old school. And her sister
- 52:32Speaker 2: put stickers and stuff. all over my body so that
- 52:36Speaker 2: my grandma could look. And my grandma was like, I've
- 52:38Speaker 2: never seen you so beautiful, but don't you understand you're
- 52:41Speaker 2: more beautiful with these stickers on you? And her eyes
- 52:45Speaker 2: were like glistening. And I was like, sticking it to
- 52:50Speaker 2: Tyra Banks and Ken Mock just brought tears to my
- 52:53Speaker 2: grandma's eyes. And I don't feel very good. So it
- 52:56Speaker 2: kind of sucked because I was like, I didn't get
- 52:58Speaker 2: paid that much. And now grandma's crying. Oh, man.
- 53:04Speaker 3: So I mean, I grew up very Irish Catholic. And definitely,
- 53:10Speaker 3: if I was if, if the opportunity came to me,
- 53:13Speaker 3: at 20 something, it would have been hard for my
- 53:18Speaker 3: parents to see that this is, I mean, we grew
- 53:22Speaker 3: up in LA. So they understand, you know, understood the
- 53:24Speaker 3: business a little bit, you know, more than than your
- 53:27Speaker 3: family would or whatever. But And, you know, but it
- 53:29Speaker 3: would it would have had to have been like, look,
- 53:32Speaker 3: Jenny McCarthy got a TV show and she's funny. Like
- 53:35Speaker 3: I would have had to like use that as an
- 53:37Speaker 3: example if I was ever. Obviously, I was not I
- 53:39Speaker 3: wasn't a model. I was it wasn't happening. I went
- 53:41Speaker 3: to the parties. I loved the parties. I got I
- 53:44Speaker 3: got invited to the parties and I I got, you know,
- 53:47Speaker 3: to the Halloween and all those good ones from like
- 53:50Speaker 3: right around like ninety nine.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Ninety nine. Two thousand. Two thousand.
- 53:55Speaker 3: That time, oh my God, great people watched. The girls
- 53:58Speaker 3: were painted naked, but painted. And then I'd wear like
- 54:01Speaker 3: my little lingerie outfit. And I was just so excited
- 54:04Speaker 3: to eat the food. I was all about like the
- 54:06Speaker 3: lamb chops and like the lollipop lamb chops. And just, yeah,
- 54:11Speaker 3: it was like, and you'd see some stars and, you know,
- 54:13Speaker 3: it was like good, fun stories. But no, definitely like
- 54:18Speaker 3: even as a kid and looking at the magazine, like
- 54:20Speaker 3: my dad would have it. And he would say, oh,
- 54:22Speaker 3: I do it for the articles. Or he was in
- 54:24Speaker 3: advertising and he'd say, oh, our ads are in a whatever.
- 54:27Speaker 2: The articles were actually spectacular.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Yeah, they were good. But I remember like looking and
- 54:32Speaker 3: just reading the girls, how you'd fill out that thing.
- 54:35Speaker 3: And you see the girls like bubble personal writing of
- 54:39Speaker 3: like favorite thing to do, where I want to live,
- 54:42Speaker 3: my wish or whatever. And it definitely seemed glamorous. Now
- 54:47Speaker 3: it's just like, All this, you know, from The Girls
- 54:52Speaker 3: Next Door to then, you know, I've interviewed Holly Madison
- 54:55Speaker 3: many times, and they've all written books. We all know
- 54:58Speaker 3: that that life wasn't glamorous. There's been documentaries about it
- 55:02Speaker 3: and everything. But definitely when we were growing up, it was,
- 55:07Speaker 3: you know, it was glamorous.
- 55:09Speaker 2: It was exciting.
- 55:10Speaker 3: It wasn't scary or dirty or anything to be ashamed of,
- 55:14Speaker 3: though many people's parents were not thrilled about it, if
- 55:17Speaker 3: you were one.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean... I would say that being one of
- 55:22Speaker 2: 85 girls on one guy's arm would not be glamorous
- 55:26Speaker 2: for me. Like, I don't know a guy on Earth
- 55:29Speaker 2: that deserves more than me. So sorry, buddy. But the
- 55:33Speaker 2: mansion for me, I just always thought it was like
- 55:35Speaker 2: the unspoken rule. You don't go upstairs. That's it. See
- 55:39Speaker 2: those stairs? Don't go up them.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I never went up them.
- 55:43Speaker 2: I know you didn't, because if you did, it's party time. Excellent.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Get some pajamas on. But I always liked Hef. He
- 55:52Speaker 2: was really nice to me, very classy, never gross. Like
- 55:57Speaker 2: once he joked to me, he's like, you know, I've
- 55:59Speaker 2: only ever fallen in love with brunettes. And I was like,
- 56:02Speaker 2: no way, buddy. And he laughed. I was like, sorry,
- 56:07Speaker 2: hard pass. But yeah, I didn't see any darkness there
- 56:11Speaker 2: because like I was only interested in watching people and
- 56:15Speaker 2: making stories about every girl that came in. Like you'd
- 56:19Speaker 2: see the fresh doe-eyed chicks that weren't anyone, but they
- 56:22Speaker 2: were there to meet someone and climb the ladder. And
- 56:25Speaker 2: she'd walk in and I'd hit my friend and be like,
- 56:28Speaker 2: oh my God, my name is Tiffany. Where's Leonardo DiCaprio?
- 56:32Speaker 2: Like I would just make stories. I'm like, she's from
- 56:35Speaker 2: Nebraska and she was at a bar last night. She
- 56:38Speaker 2: met this dude. That's why she's here now. And it
- 56:40Speaker 2: was so fun to just people watch and make. That
- 56:43Speaker 2: is how, that's how I got invited. Like I went,
- 56:47Speaker 2: I went to some, And this guy, yeah, just came
- 56:52Speaker 2: up to me and was like, would you want to
- 56:53Speaker 2: go to the Playboy Mansion? And then got my number.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Or I got his, I don't know.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Yeah, he called me. And I was like, oh, is
- 56:59Speaker 3: this real? And it's like, then the first time was
- 57:01Speaker 3: like an invite. And then after that, it was like, oh,
- 57:07Speaker 3: you can just call this number when the parties come.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Or I'd get the invite and then I'd call to confirm.
- 57:12Speaker 2: And then if I wanted to.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Bring a friend.
- 57:14Speaker 2: You have to send a picture.
- 57:15Speaker 3: I have to send the photo.
- 57:17Speaker 2: That's right. They don't want no ugly bitches there. No.
- 57:21Speaker 3: And not everybody and not every friend got approved. And
- 57:26Speaker 3: then I'd have to just be like, oh, I just
- 57:27Speaker 3: didn't hear back.
- 57:28Speaker 2: You know, I would go through my friend's pictures and
- 57:31Speaker 2: they'd be like, oh, send this. I'm like, nope. something
- 57:34Speaker 2: else and I just the perfect picture I'm like that's
- 57:37Speaker 2: the one that's the one I'm submitting like that's.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Like what were the years that you were there from
- 57:42Speaker 3: being on the show and like socializing at these parties
- 57:45Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 57:48Speaker 2: I mean 2006 to about 2012 13 I just kind
- 57:58Speaker 2: of started like losing interest because I didn't want to
- 58:01Speaker 2: wear underwear to Midsummer Night's Dream. I didn't mind the
- 58:04Speaker 2: Fourth of July party because it was so chill.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:08Speaker 2: The Halloween party. I went dressed as Alex DeLarge from
- 58:13Speaker 2: A Clockwork Orange with the big bulge and everything. And,
- 58:17Speaker 2: you know, everyone's like, I'm a sexy bunny. I'm a
- 58:19Speaker 2: sexy butterfly. I looked horrible and Hef looked at me
- 58:23Speaker 2: and he was a huge Stanley Kubrick fan. And he
- 58:26Speaker 2: was like, ah, and he was like, called me over.
- 58:29Speaker 2: And you could see all the chicks like, and I'm like, dude,
- 58:33Speaker 2: I'm married like this. It's not what you think. He
- 58:36Speaker 2: just likes Stanley Kubrick. Back off. It was an interesting place.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Who were you married to then during that time?
- 58:42Speaker 2: My ex-husband. That was Christopher Nighttime. And would he come
- 58:46Speaker 2: with you? Yeah, but he didn't like it because what
- 58:49Speaker 2: fun is the Playboy Mansion for a married guy with
- 58:53Speaker 2: his wife there? I'm sure not much. Well, when I
- 58:56Speaker 2: got married and then I... now I'm married.
- 58:58Speaker 3: So I called in to say, can I take my
- 59:01Speaker 3: husband to the New Year's Eve party? And she just,
- 59:03Speaker 3: the woman goes, what? Absolutely not. It's a singles party.
- 59:07Speaker 3: I'm like, no, he's really cool. And like, cause I
- 59:09Speaker 3: just was like, that was it. I stopped getting invited.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Yeah, no.
- 59:13Speaker 3: I was so mad that I didn't think that through.
- 59:15Speaker 3: I should have just, cause I could have just kept
- 59:17Speaker 3: going with like a girlfriend for the hell of it.
- 59:19Speaker 2: You know, they invited us both, but I think that's
- 59:21Speaker 2: when they were courting me for my first spread. And
- 59:24Speaker 2: then he eventually was like, take a girlfriend because you know.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Well, also, I mean, he was a celebrity too. So
- 59:30Speaker 3: like that wouldn't make sense. And I bet back then
- 59:33Speaker 3: there was probably some fun like reality and stars and
- 59:37Speaker 3: stuff to socialize with.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Did it lead to any other type of jobs during
- 59:42Speaker 2: that time? I am not an elbow rubber. I am
- 59:45Speaker 2: the worst person that's ever existed in Hollywood. I will
- 59:50Speaker 2: walk a red carpet and go into the back room
- 59:53Speaker 2: and right out the back door into my car and
- 59:55Speaker 2: go home. I'm so bad. I never really did that
- 59:59Speaker 2: unless it was like nerd stuff. I don't know. I
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: don't like the fake culture, the kissy-kissy cheek, and then
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: you hear him talk shit about you like three feet
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: away from you. There was something so... It was like
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: a plastic veneer, and I just didn't like it. So
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I was bad at ladder climbing, I guess.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: So then once you got divorced and the Playboy years
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: were over, then how did you end up with your
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: husband now, living in Montana, like.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: What happened there? Essentially, I was pretty much done with
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Los Angeles. I was just done. And I met my husband,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: who does voiceovers for like movie trailers, like in a
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: world this Friday. I met him and we dated a
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: little bit and we moved to Arizona and we really
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: liked it. We were in the mountains of Prescott. And
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: then we were like, we want to get further away
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: from people. Like I just became anti big city, anti
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: the hustle and bustle. I just wanted to find peace
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: because I felt like I hadn't had any in so long.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: And then we we moved to Montana. We had never
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: been here. I do love it. We love it. We
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: both agreed we could never live anywhere near a city
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: ever again. It has to be not rural. It has
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: to be remote. We've discussed moving from here and finding
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: somewhere that you have to snowmobile in half the year
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: and stuff like we would really like. We'd really like
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: to go off grid completely. I'd be very happy.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: So is it just the two of you? Yes.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Yes. And three cats and a dog.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: And you just do your stuff. You work from home.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: You do things from home.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: How far is a grocery store? To go to Costco,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: it's about an hour and 45 minutes or Walmart. But
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I don't notice it anymore because, you know, I just
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: hit the highway. Montana miles are measured in hours. Everyone's like,
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: how many miles is that from you? I'm like, it's
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: like an hour and a half, hour 45. If there's
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: a blizzard, it can be longer because you're not going
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: 70 down a highway. But it's so beautiful. It's not
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: unpleasant to like look at the majestic Rocky Mountains and
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Glacier National Park.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: So do you just go like once every two weeks
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: and get everything you need or?
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: In the summer and in the winter, I tend to
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: do I try to do every four to six weeks.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Because it's difficult. Like sometimes we've been snowed in this
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: house for like two weeks because of the ice. It
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: was so dangerous. We're like, uh-uh. So you got to
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: be stocked up. And we have a generator, which is
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: nice and good.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: And you don't get any kind of like cabin fever
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: or anything like that?
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: No. Like we'll go snowshoeing and hiking. Like there's, I
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: don't feel trapped here at all. That's so cool. Because
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: the world is my oyster. Yeah. I dig it. That's awesome.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: And so you guys have been out there for how long?
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Gosh. 18, 19. Almost eight years. Wow. Yeah.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: And so when did you find out that, you know,
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: prior to the America's Next Top Model with the rise
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: of TikTok and everything, there was a lot of people,
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: you know, going back to the old episodes and really
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: realizing like how fucked up it was and stuff. So
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: when I heard there was this doc coming out and that,
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: you know, Tyra and her detective coat was going to
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: be part of it, you know, that look, it's so,
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: I was like, well, I think she's like, well, I'd
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: rather do it with me rather than do it without me.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: And I just saw there's another one coming out that
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: is not with any of them. And what was when
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: did you hear that? I'm sure they reached out to you.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: When did you hear that this was going to happen?
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: So many top model docs are being made. So many.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: So I've said no to all of them. And it
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: feels great. I just I have zero trust for producers.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: And I know a couple of the girls that just
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: did the Netflix documentary. And they all told me they
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: were lied to and manipulated about what it was and
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: that they feel over-edited and that they don't feel their
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: voices were heard. And I'm like, this is why I
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: don't do anything. Because they didn't tell them the judges
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: were going to be on there or Tyra was going
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: to be on there. They told them that they would
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: be doing all the publicity for the show, but it's
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: just been the judges and none of the girls. And
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: that the whole show was going to be all about
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: the girls and their lives from when they were kids
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: to later... And it was all bullshit. And I'm like
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: wanting to shake them. I'm like, ladies, why do you
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: keep believing these people don't believe them?
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well, that's why that's what I reached out to
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: you because I was following you anyway.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: And I saw a video that you did.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: And you're like, what the fuck? You know that you
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: didn't pay us when we were the contestants. Then you
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: do this doc and you don't pay them again.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Yeah. But they paid the judges. Right.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: But of course, you're paying the judges. I'm sure Jay,
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Manuel and Miss Jay and all those people got paid.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: And they didn't because... Maybe they didn't think to ask
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: or maybe it wasn't offered or whatever. Or they were
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: told this could lead to other opportunities.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: People could follow you. You're going to gain followers.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: You're going to get you be able to model again,
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: whatever it was that they did. And then to just, again,
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: not get anything out of it. I just love that
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: you spelled it out because I was like, that's so
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: fucking true.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: You and I both know how much Netflix made off
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: that son of a bitch because everyone watched it. We're talking...
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: buttloads of money and I'm like see this is why
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: I'm just I'm so over the machine but I feel
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: like everyone keeps getting into a cage with a scorpion
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: and a rattlesnake going why is it biting me I'm
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: like well it's a scorpion and a rattlesnake like stop
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: getting in that cage but I get it you want
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: to feel like your voice is going to be heard
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: I'm interested to see how the e thing's gonna go
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: I'm just because I hear it's more about the girls.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Then again, sorry, E, I don't trust producers. So I'll
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: tentatively sit back. I didn't watch the Netflix thing because
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: I didn't want to give them any money. But I
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: might watch the E thing, depending on what it was
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: reported to me. We'll see.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Well, I want to get your opinion on one thing.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: I'll just explain it in that. So Jay Manuel, who was,
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: you know who he is, the makeup artist for everybody,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: I guess. And he tells the story of how You know,
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: he had such a great time doing it, but he
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: just decided, I think I've gone my course and I
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: want out. And he writes her an email, Tyra, and
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: then he waited like three days. She finally gets back
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: to him. She wrote like, I'm disappointed. But then I
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: guess they negotiated the final contract for the final year.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: And then when they got together and the lights went on,
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: she treated him like her bestie again.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: And so that was kind of his thing.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: And some people have felt, oh, my God, she tossed
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: him away. I kind of felt, well, you did email
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: and say you don't want to be part of the
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: show anymore. I mean, I still think I'd be nice
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: to my friend and I would have been like, I
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: totally get it.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: Let's make the best of the last year. I don't know.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: But what is your feeling about that? Never work with
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: your friends, dude. Real bad idea, for one, because stuff
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: like that happens. But it's funny to me because people
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: were like, oh, she didn't apologize to you. I'm like,
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: look at how she treats her friends. Why do you
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: think she's going to apologize to any of us? Like,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: of course not. But I did kind of laugh because
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: from what it seems like, because, you know, the cancel
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Karen mob wants to get Tyra Banks and the judges
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: came in and deflected the blame off of all of
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: what they did and just tossed it on to Tyra,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: which I'm like, Well done, boys. Well done. That's hilarious.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Good for you guys, because that's like that takes skill
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: to like pretend that you weren't part.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: Of earning part of the whole thing. I mean, you yeah,
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: you were doing all the awful things to the models
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: as well. And and we're out for yourselves as well
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: to like do the fame.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: And but that's but men are good at that. They're
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: so good at it. I'm sorry. I always tell everyone.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Never betray a fashion gay. You have no idea what
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: you're in for. You don't understand. I mean, you have
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: to have a certain level of caddy to make it
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: in that industry. You got to, we're talking like leopards
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: and mountain lions and like I would not burn one.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: but I guess she decided to burn one. Good luck.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: So when she had her talk show, what was that like?
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: I mean, you weren't watching it, but it was popping
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: up like anything, any feelings towards that time?
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Leave these bitches kept agreeing to go on the show
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: and the show already screwed them over and then they
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: go on Tyra. And you know what I liken it to?
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: It's like loss aversion when you gamble and you're like,
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I'm up 800 bucks. Oh, no, I'm down 1600. And
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: then you keep betting and keep betting and you're hoping
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: you're going to hit. I think that's what happens to people.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: It's either a loss aversion or there's that dopamine hit
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: of getting on TV. Like, because I can understand how
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: that can be appealing to people, you know?
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: It definitely is a dragon that you'll keep chasing. But
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I would hear stories about girls going on the show.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, weren't they done dirty
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: on the show and now they're going on a show?
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: That's crazy to me.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's the most fascinating thing about
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: reality TV in general is that, you know, before it existed,
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: there was only one way to really get famous online.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: in the TV movie world. And that was to go
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: through the steps, act, get on a, get a five
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: and under, then get a regular spot, then be a
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: star of friends. You know, like there was one trajectory really.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: And this was like, oh my God, you know, you
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: can be really famous and have this fun and be
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: on a TV show and lead to other things. And
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: now it's such a regular thing. This has been around
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: for like 25, 30 years. And I do think for
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: certain reality stars, it is an addiction. like anything else.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: The addiction, the fame is an addiction. And I see
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: it with Real Housewives. Certain ones can be on their
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: way and, you know, and other ones will, you know,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: I can't go back to my boring life now.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: When I retired in 2015- Like I'm an Avon lady now.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: I love it. It's what I do. Yeah. And I
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: get offers. And it's so funny because people are like,
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: no one's offering you anything. I'm like, you don't think
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: for these stupid ensemble shows that they don't want the
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: OG top model with like a record of having popular
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: TV shows? Of course they do. And I get to
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: say no. And they are not used to hearing that.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: They are used to hearing people like, yes, I'm going
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: to go on Celebrity Big Brother. I'm going to go
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: on The Traitors. And I'm like, no, I'm good. And
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: it feels so good. I love doing it. Because people
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: thought I went crazy when I retired. Because they're like,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: what do you mean you're turning this down? I think
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: the last thing I turned down, like right when it
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: really hit in 2015 when I was done, is they
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: wanted me to go on E's Famously Single. But I
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: just started dating my husband. And I remember telling, and
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: they're like, just explain to him. It's just a show.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: I'm like, first off, I've never done the fake reality
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: TV shit ever. So I don't want to do that.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: I'm like, second, what if this guy's the one? I
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: feel like it's the one. And everyone's laughing at me. Like, ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 1:12:13Speaker 6: Yeah, right.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: And I'm like, F you guys. I'm not doing this.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: And then I told him about it and he was like,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Jesus hell. I'm like, yeah, they want me to like
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: fake date other guys. I'm like, no self-respecting man is
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: going to stay with you. Who's serious about you when
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: you're going on TV and pretending you're like some hussy.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: And he was like, yeah, I would have dumped you
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: in two seconds. Yeah.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: You'd be like, well, I guess she is who everyone,
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: you know, she's your typical reality star or whatever.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: So I said, I said, that was the beginning of
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: saying no. And then I was like, I, I just,
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: I can't sell my soul anymore. I'm just, I'm so
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: over it. And it's so empowering. Like I've had people
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: reach out, like, here's a show it's sold. We need
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: you to host. You could pay off your mortgage. And
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: they're always throwing shit like that at me. And I'm like,
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: I'm good. Thank you. That's amazing. Yeah, I love your Instagram.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: And I love, you know, that you're able to still
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: do that on your terms and show off your personality
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: and show the products that you love that you're selling. And,
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: you know, you are so naturally beautiful.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: No one can use me with what I'm doing right now.
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: Like, for what?
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Skin so soft? Is that what you're going to use
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: me for? I have no connections anymore. I have no
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: manager for you to talk to. I don't have a
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: publicist friend. Literally all the coattail writers, one by one,
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: just all the dead weight started coming off me the
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: second I stopped. And now I feel free.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Really just like people just dumped you like you never
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: heard from them again.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Oh slowly but surely they all started going the way
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: of the dodo and I was like wow man I
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: was surrounded by people who were not my friends I
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: have a few but the majority of them were there
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: because I think they felt excited that we'd walk down
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: the street and TMZ would be there or something you
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: know what I mean yeah like it gave them a
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: rush and, you know, I became boring and then they
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: just left. And I'm like, okay. And then I, you know,
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: you get some space and you see the hidden agendas. Well,
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: this chick wanted to be a singer real bad. And
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: then this person was always talking to my producer friend,
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: but she has a project that she wrote about on
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: her page that she's trying to sell. And then I
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: just started seeing the matrix. I'm like, I, my face
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: was a ladder run for people trying to climb to
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: the top. That's all it was. And I'm not even
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: that big. But you know the industry. That's how it is.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: Well, when you hear about like, you know, how now
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: people have these conspiracy theories about Hollywood and connecting it
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: to the really dark Epstein stuff and like, oh, people
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: did sell their soul to the or they sold their
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: butthole to Diddy, or whatever they.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: Want to say.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: You know, like Cat Williams, like, it could have been me,
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: I could have been Will Smith, or whatever he says, right?
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: My God, you just killed me, Dad. I mean, what
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: is your thought? What is your thought in that? I
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: think you and I both know there's some real fucked
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: up people in Hollywood. There's some dark shit that does
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: go on there, and to deny it is to deny
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: the sky is blue. Right. But I think... When you're
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: an A-lister and the world is your oyster and you're
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: rich beyond measure, the issue seems to be people who
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: can do and say whatever they want, however they want to.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Life becomes boring because you want for nothing, like Bill Gates.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: And the more bored you get because you have so
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: much money, you could like buy a country. The more
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: extreme you get with the things that interest you until
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: you just keep heading down this horrible, dark path. path.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: And I mean, we all know the seven degrees of
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: Kevin Bacon. Everyone's had sex with each other. And that's
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: just like, oh, you dated her. So did Tom and Daniel.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Everyone did that. And I recognized that right away. Like
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: when I left my ex-husband, I was like, I'm not
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: dating anyone in this industry. And my manager got all
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: these phone calls and all this stuff. I'm like, nope. nope,
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: I don't want anyone involved with this shit. We're done.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: And I think that was a really good decision because
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I don't want to fly and soar high because look
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: at the people who are doing that. Like Will and
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Jada Smith, those are two of the most fucked up
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: people I've ever seen. The most. Like, what is wrong
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: with you? I always thought they were weird.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: You know, I was like, oh, they have to match.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: And I'm always like that, you know, on the red carpet.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: But then like Oprah would just be like, you guys
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: are the greatest couple ever. And she'd be like, and
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: I have a bonus son. I have a bonus son.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: And then I'm like, and then you fucked the bonus
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: son's best friend. And then and then she made Will
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: sit down on her Facebook YouTube show with the red
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: table with with the mother and the daughter and have
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: him basically be gaslit into being that it's his fault because,
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: you know, he made throwing a big birthday for her
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: about himself. I'll never forget. Yes, I will never forget this.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: Scene from the show.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: They put him down and like the daughter is there
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: and she's there. And it was just like, she's like,
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: and then, and then you knew it was my birthday coming.
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: I didn't want to party, but you had to do it.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Didn't you?
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: Well, you had to do it. And he's like, yeah, I,
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: I thought having a big party, you know, would be
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: a fun, nice thing. No, you did it for yourself, Will.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: And he's like, but I know I did it for myself.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: I was like, what? So when that, that I think happened,
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: I saw that before the slap.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: So when the slap happened.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: And also the humiliation about that she had an entanglement
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: with the son's friend, you know, that was hanging around.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: And why it was just an entanglement. Like, you just
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: need to deal with that.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: That whole thing.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: And then I just recently saw the slap. Like, again,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: someone posted it. It is so horrific.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: The Oscars are around the corner. It is so horrific.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Triggering uncomfortable awkward the fact that jerry springer entire audience
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: clinch their butthole like clinch like is this a joke
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: no this is not a joke oh fuck this guy's
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: really mad and then chris rock being like dude what
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: does she know about him? I was doing a live show.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: I was doing a live Juicy Scoop at the Brea Improv.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: I didn't realize when I booked it, it was Oscar night,
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: but whatever. And that type of show is like kind
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: of like a variety show. Like I'm going in, doing characters,
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: I had different people with me. And I go to
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: like change something and they're like, Will Smith just slapped,
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: you know, Chris Rock. And I go, oh, that's an act.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: Like that can't be real. That can't be real. And
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: some people were like getting phone alerts. Like it was
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: the biggest news ever in the audience. And I'm like, okay,
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: I guess we need to talk about this fucking slap.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: And then, and then I got one of my biggest
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: videos was I had a, a guest on who was
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: a friend of mine, Josh Wolf. And we talked about it.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: And it was like, I was like, you know, a woman,
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: a woman can be a narcissist too. Like, I mean,
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: I think they're both weird. I think they're so weird.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: And I think there's so much weirdness about their fucking family.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: But what does she have on him? It's bad. She
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: knows something so effing bad that he's willing to go
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: through humiliation rituals. emasculation rituals. She's got the dirtiest dirt
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: that's ever dirted on that dude.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: I know it.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: I feel it. I know it. No self-respecting man's going
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: to sit there and get emasculated the way he has.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: He's done something so rank and she knows. That's all
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: I got to say. I read her book and I
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: was just like... Did you? How did that go for you?
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: Because I just was fascinated by this whole weird... And
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: I was like, what is real? What's not?
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: Was it good?
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: No, I mean, you know, it's about her life, but
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: it was just all those things, you know, like Tupac
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: was her best friend and, you know, and then she did,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: she didn't really, when she met him, she was like,
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: I don't like this corny, like this corny kind of
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: hip hop music. I like hardcore and, you know, and
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: then he had to chase her and it was a
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: very self-serving thing. And then it was a very, you know,
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: then she had her interview with like a Jay Shetty
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: that like, you know, is a grifter too.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: And she's talking to her through life and.
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: I just was like, but yeah, I think the fact
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: that they're still kind of married or whatever they're doing. No,
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: I think I think they both swung different ways. I
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: think they were swingers together. I think he has had boyfriends.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: I think that's just my personal opinion. I think she's
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: had girlfriends totally. And, you know, and then for a
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: minute they were Scientologists.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: Like, I think I think they were at baby lube
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: ditty parties, honestly. I think they were right there. And
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: I grew up as a kid. French Fresh Prince was
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: my thing. I used to know all his dumb ass
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: lyrics to all his rap, like the nightmare on my
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: street and stuff like I loved this shit. So to
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: watch like my childhood hero, at least like Wesley Snipes
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: was my other one because I love Blade. At least
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: he just ripped off Uncle Sam, which I'm like, yeah,
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: that's not so bad. Will Smith just face planted for me.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: And I'm like, all my childhood memories are destroyed. So
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: thank you, wherever you are, Wesley Snipes. I still love you, man.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Thanks for not letting me down.
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, my God.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Well, I've thoroughly enjoyed talking to you so much. Your
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: life story is very, very inspiring. And you have a
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: lot of such great wisdom. like your life lessons and
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: your wisdom that you could give. So many things that
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: you said, I was like, oh my God, that's so true.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: Like that makes so much sense. So I just know
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: everyone is going to love this interview. So thank you
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: so much. And tell everybody where they can follow you.
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: You can follow me at Adrienne Curry on X, Instagram
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: and Facebook. And I believe TikTok is Adrienne Curry Road.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: And yeah, I'm an Avon lady. So if you want
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: some of that, come my way. I love it. I
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: love it.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: It was so nice talking to you. Thanks so much
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: for taking the time. I appreciate it.
- 1:22:51Speaker 6: Thank you. Your home changes over time. The kitchen gets louder.
