- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Well, hey everybody.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome to yet another exciting episode of the Steve and Jeff Show.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I'm Steve.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: And I'm Jeff.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Hey Steve, how's it going?
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: Jeff, Jeff, it is so exciting.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Things are happening.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Things are moving.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Things are growing.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Things are developing.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Things are coming out of things I didn't know had things to come out of.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: It's Jeff, I was, as you know, Jeff, I was on, we've been we've been doing all kinds of wonderful expansion onto every platform where people can listen to podcasts.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Well, except that one, but but I digress.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: But we're on every platform where people can listen to podcasts.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: And we are we are getting so many fans worldwide, Jeff.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It's unbelievable.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: I was I as you know, last week I was in sunny Southern California.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: And it's as soon as I arrived at the airport.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Now I I didn't fly into LAX, I flew into that other one.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: You know, the other one down there, it's oh, it's named after that cowboy actor.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Um oh, oh, yeah, Randolph Scott Airport.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Randolph Scott Airport.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that went to Randolph Scott Airport.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: As soon as I landed at Randolph Scott, people approached me and they said, You're Steve of Steve and Jeff.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, all these fans, all these fans.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: So it was it was wild, Jeff.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: You've been running into fans too, I've heard, right?
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: One of the things that people don't understand because they can't see what we're doing is that we have up to now been sort of in this cocoon being in the studio, uh, you know, kind of like when the Beatles stopped performing and then they went back into the studio.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: We sort of did it in reverse.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Now you and I are out there, and now we're all of a sudden realizing the impact that this show has had on people.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And like, beautiful butterflies, we have emerged from our mother's cocoon.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Yes, and uh my mom's cocoon is you know, that's a sensitive issue, so we can talk about that another time.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: But but yeah, so I was out, yeah, I was out as well.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And to give you an idea on how closely they listened to us, I had a number of people come up to me and ask me about my toenails.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, about yeah, about how bad is it?
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Do you know they wanted me to take my shoes off to show them?
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: And and it made me realize maybe the self-help thing that you and I have talked about embracing, I need to do that.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Um, now, of course, some people would cut their nails, but I I think I'm past that point, Steve.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: I think I think I need to have surgically removed.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: There's a more scientific way to handle it than just you know cut it.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Anybody can do that, but oh man, science can help you permanently give you a permanent solution to it, right?
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, I'm thinking of having that done, and I'll keep you updated, Steve.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Uh, when I have the surgery, I don't know if I'd be off my feet.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: I'd I'd be off my toes, but yeah, um, whether I'd be off my feet for a while.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: But even in that case, I am just amazed at how popular we are, not only within Chicago, where I'm at right now, doing outreach, but all over the United States, all over the world.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: All over the world, Jeff.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And I'll tell you, it's it is really sinking in our popularity because you know, when I was at Randolph Scott Airport there, I was, you know, I got off the flight so long flight.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: I kind of, you know, had to go to the restroom because you know, they don't, unlike our studio here, they don't put a toilet inside the airplane.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Well, they do, but but I digress.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: But but so I I I had to had to go to the restroom, and as I'm walking to the restroom, this guy approaches me and says, Hey, you look like you got a lot of fans.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: And the guy looks vaguely familiar.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: I think I've seen this.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, yeah, we do.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I told him about the show and all that, and he says, You know, I am an author and a nationally known motivational speaker, and I appear on a lot of podcasts.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: I said, Would you like to appear on our podcast?
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And he said yes, and he's gonna be on today, Jeff.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: That's our guest.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Now, now he can't he couldn't be here in eccentric Lady Land Studios with us, so I can't tap on the old glass and you know annoy him.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: But he did zoom in, so he is here on Zoom with us.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: That's wonderful.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: I've got so many questions because you know, motivation is one of the strengths of of this show, but we could always get better.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: And if this is that good at it, you know, I'm sure he's got some tips or you know, just guidelines that we should be following.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: And our show motivates people already.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So imagine if we have this motivational show with a motivational speaker.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Wow, and and this guy, I'll tell you, this guy is world famous.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: He's the one, I know you've heard this.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: He's the one his his famous quote that he coined as the title of his first book, too.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: It's really how he became famous.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: I know you've heard this phrase only you are you.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Oh man.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Let me just absorb that for a second.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I I just yeah, you really gotta think about where that hits you, you know.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, he uh without that, how would we know that?
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh that this is just amazing.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: And in fact, he's he's got a new book out that he's plugging.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: That's one of the reasons he's going on all these shows.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: New but new book called The Richest Pudding in Byzantium.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And I I'm just can't wait to read that one as well.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: So wow.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Let me what I wonder if he'll I wonder if he'll follow up with uh like only me is me.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: You know, which is kind of uh, you know, that would that would make sense, or maybe when they make the movie, that would be the name of the movie.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: It'd be yeah, yeah, that would be basically you know that what a great idea.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Because I I'll tell you, I I did a little check, I looked up Google Apathetics, and and they said that people are tired of motivational speakers, but Google Apathetic and nobody cares what they say, right?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: That's the thing about Google Apathetics, right?
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: So, but oh, you know, that uh MMA fighter guy, I you know, he's not covering anything like this.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: He he went on that uh he went on that social media, you know, the social media platform that that guy bought, uh what's it called?
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Uh litter, litter, uh Twister.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I don't know, you know, you know that was it, Twister.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Right, Twister.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I think that was it.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And he talked about gaslighting and all this, and you know, and I don't think it's nice to talk about gaslighting in public that way.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: That's why we have Pepsod AC and Tagamat.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, come on, you don't need to talk about it.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: And come on, right?
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Steve, you and I have known each other since we were 15.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: When we were 15, we did gaslighting.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: That was funny.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: That was the funny thing, right?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you sit there, you but you know, when you're 50 lighter, you're big lighter.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Come on, you know, come on, grow up, right?
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, but we digress.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Very excited to see this guy.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: What's this guy's name?
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: This guy, a world-famous motivational speaker and author.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: I know you, I know you've heard of him, Tony Zigfield.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, is he the guy with the the lion in Vegas?
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: The was it Zig Tony Zigfield in Troy?
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Was that that's uh Tony and Zig, yeah.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Let's uh let's let's bring him on.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Uh Mr.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Zigfield.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Perfect.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Welcome to our show.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Well, I hear I hear his phone ringing.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I hear something.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I hear something, but oh is there a bad connection here?
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, you know what?
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Wait, wait, wait.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: I'm just I'm I'm getting something on my screen here.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Uh it says it's a it's from it's a message from Tony Ziggfield.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Wait, hope he's okay.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: It's a it's in the Zoom chat here.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: It says, when I agreed to come on your show, I assumed it was a paid gig.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: I only talk when I'm paid.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: So so wait, wait.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Well, I I guess we didn't quite cover all that on the way to the restroom there, but but so Mr.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Ziegfield, does that mean that you won't answer our questions?
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Okay, more time.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Maybe maybe he'll change his mind as we go.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Well, he says in the chat here, it's like, yes, I will answer, but I will only type the answers.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, that that kind of works.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So, Mr.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Ziegfield, you're not going to say anything on the show.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Is that uh this must be he must have this pre-programmed?
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: This came out, he didn't even take time to type this one.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: This is one of those, you know, self-generated says, until the eagle flies, I type replies.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: I I I yeah, I okay, I get you there.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Well, well, this will be an interesting show on it, Jeff.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: But uh anyway, first time we've ever done this.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Yes, this is the first time.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: The closest thing was when my dad didn't show up for one show, but yeah in this case he's actually going to respond, which I think is okay, Steve, because you know, in some ways, when they say it verbally, you sort of lose it, right?
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: It kind of comes to you and then it's gone.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: In this way, he's writing it for us.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: We'll have a record of it, we'll have a transcript.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it sounds like we could gain a lot of valuable information and insight.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna learn so much from this, Jeff.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: And just I just I'm very excited.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: I I I just want to jump right in here.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Uh, Mr.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Zigfield, you know, you're familiar a little bit with our with our setup here.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And I know I asked you some questions uh when we were talking live about our show, and and I don't know, did you have any suggestions for Jeff and me for a way that we could make our show better?
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, we're expanding, we're doing a lot of cool things, but what else could we do?
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, oh, oh, well, he's typing.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, here we go.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Uh he says uh teamwork makes the screams work.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I guess that means we should kind of work together on things.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, look, on the he's on camera on the zoom, he's not talking, but he's muted.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: But look, he's nodding.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Keep working together.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Not gonna answer.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: He either waved, so he either waved or he either waved or gave you the finger.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: I I'm not sure.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: I think he's mouthing um duck.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, no, that wasn't a D.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Uh anyway, but I digress.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, anyway, Jeff, you you must have some questions for oh so many questions.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess my my first question is as a motivational speaker, how did you overcome stage fright?
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Which you know seems to be pretty debilitating for so many people.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Uh uh, I'm getting an answer here.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: Let's see.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, his answer is it's never too late to be what you never were.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: Wow, you know, that's just that's so sense on so many levels.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: That's so beautiful.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, no wonder he is a nationally renowned motivational speaker.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, I mean, who could argue with that?
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: And he's worth the money we're paying.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's right.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: We're not paying him.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: You know, he would be worth the money we're gonna pay him if we So yeah, Mr.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Mr.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Zigfield.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: I know I bet you get this question everywhere you appear.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: And he you know, and he does those those weekend training things where they I don't know, they put lighter fluid on their feet, or I don't know what something I I've heard stories, but anyway, you know, I I know you must get this question all the time.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Mr.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Zigfield, what is the secret to success?
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Good question, Steve.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's taking this one seriously.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: He got right and I'm motivated to hear the answer.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Oh, that was you know, Steve, you got me.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: You got me.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, you just came up in the chat here.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: It says success is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent masturbation.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Wait, did I read that right?
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Well, well, well, Jeff.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Well, you must be a huge success then, Jeff.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: I don't know what to tell you, you know.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: You know, that's true.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: That's uh very true.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: Um you know, who would have thought?
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: In some ways, Steve, this might be the best interview we've ever done when you think about it.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, just the the insights, the gems, the little the little breadcrumbs on the trail to success that he is leaving, dropping as if droppings from a a bird, for example.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: Just free will droppings.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: It's just amazing.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: I have another question.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh, my question has to do with positioning.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: You know, a lot of times motivational speakers, you see them and they're standing up on a podium, and uh, you know, they got the microphone in front of them.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Do you recommend standing or sitting when you're um when you're speaking?
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Do you more casual or more formal?
- 11:58unknown: Okay.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Oh okay.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Let's see what he says here.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, I I don't know what it means, but it it's it feels seems deep.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: He says, uh, some see the glass as half empty.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: I see it as completely dirty.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's been in our kitchen, he's been in that break room, Jeff.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we still haven't cleaned up the mac and cheese my mom brought for Christmas.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's still sitting out there, but and Steve, I think he's at a higher level than us.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: I don't think the word dirty necessarily means what we think it means.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: It no, that would be something maybe we if I read his book, then I'll have a better understanding of that.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: But you know, on the surface, it it's something I need to just absorb.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: And you know, I haven't read his book, but it's got a really nice cover, and it had an interesting blurb on the back that I read I read part of.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: But uh, you know, Jeff, we got a ton more to talk about with him.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: But Jeff, we have a repeat sponsor tonight.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Perfect, Jeff.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: You remember the our good friends at Goucher Financial, who uh, you know, the FU money that they thought it'd be great to come back and do another commercial with us.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And you know, it's a little ironic that it's that they're doing this commercial on a uh a night when money seems to be an issue for our guests, but let's just let's just go to commercial.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's great.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: I used to heavy hard on EP, those take money.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: Still I get more still.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Must be my money.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Yes, it needs to work.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: You want to make money.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: We want to help.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was uh it's interesting because I'm so jacked up and motivated.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: And then you play the commercial about making money.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: A money?
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, and I'm just and you know, ready to go.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: I think our guest was even motivated by that commercial because during the commercial, during the commercial break, I got something on the chat.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: He typed in F you.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, so he's paying attention, he's paying attention.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: He knows about the FU money.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: Very good, very good.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: That's great.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Well, do you have any more questions, Steve?
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, I oh I do, yes.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Mr.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Ziegfield, I I really everybody wants success, but you know, a lot of times things don't work out.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: How do you what's the best way to come back from a failure?
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: You know, when you have a failure, what do you do?
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: What do you do?
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, oh, oh, these must be pre-programmed too.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: He gets these questions a lot too.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: But he actually put two, he answered two sentences here.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: He's got wait, he was says failure is just a stepping stone to your next failure.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: And then he says, uh, if you make a mistake, make another one right away so everyone will forget the first one.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: You know, I have I I I just kind of been unconsciously doing that most of my life, really.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: I just I didn't know that was a strategy.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, I just kind of did that, you know.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: And I'm a little jealous.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: You got two answers out of him for one question, which I I haven't had yet.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm hoping that maybe my next question will motivate him to uh you know to answer it.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, Jeff, he motivates others, he doesn't get motivated.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Well, I guess I guess money is the motivator to talk at least.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: He's nodding, look, he's nodding on the camera.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: Look at this.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: Look at this guy.
- 16:43unknown: Wow.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: But I digress.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Anyway, Jeff, Jeff, you were saying.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so my question has to do, you know, as somebody who is considers themselves a performer like I do, is it best to to dress up for performances?
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Or can you dress casual?
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Oftentimes I I come in a in a tuxedo when I'm with a big group, smaller groups.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: I tend to be just wearing you know, a suit and tie.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: And I'm just wondering what goes with the most motivating feeling that you can give somebody in terms of what you wear.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Listen to those keys typing.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: He's he's he sounds motivated.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: He's going like crazy.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: He sounds motivated there.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Whoa.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: All right, here's here's the answer.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: Um, the best way to begin is to stop for coffee and talk about it a lot more.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: I and he's a little confused.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Am I wearing a suit when I get coffee?
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: You could really you'd stand out at the Starbucks, but I bet you could, you know, and and Jeff, there again, see, we've been doing that.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Jeff, I I we're kind of following this unconsciously.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: We're kind of following the path to success.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Because whenever we have something, some idea, we say, well, let's not do it yet.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: And we go get coffee and we talk for like another six months or so, right?
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: And you know what, Steve?
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: I I I we may need to come back next week and go through these answers in more detail to really understand what the essence, you know, what he was saying, it's like the Maharishi, right?
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: You the tells you something and you don't really understand it, and you go back and you think about it and you study it, and there's just a lot for uh you and I to absorb.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: We're gonna need to do that if we want to continue to grow.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, I think Tony's help.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: I think Tony is it he is a kind of our own Maharishi, if you will.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And maybe we're we're Lennon McCartney.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, you take your, you know, we'll we'll we'll debate who's who, and we're there at his feet getting this wisdom.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, you know, I just uh Tony.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: This has just been so helpful.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: And and it just goes to show you that words can sometimes get in the way, the spoken word, because look how helpful he's been, and he hasn't said a thing.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: It's wonderful.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, Tony, I just uh yeah, it says so much.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Yes, says so much.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: That's exactly right.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: That's it, that's it exactly you know, Tony.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Some people just really are looking for a good way to start the day.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: What's the best way to start the day if you want your day to be a success?
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's uh here he goes.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: He is moving.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Now he's he's kind of chuckling.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: I see him.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Why I'm typing this okay.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: Uh he says And he's actually typing the chuckling.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a little emotional.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: I don't think I've ever seen that.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's so you've got to wake up with energy if you want to go to bed with someone.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Oh you know, it makes sense, right?
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: I mean that's what that's what I've always heard.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Jeff, you have you have you have a question for Tony?
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Um my question has to do with the audience.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: Tony, when you're getting ready to speak before an audience, do you have any input or do you have any recommendations on the types of people that you would speak to?
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Are there some that are more easily motivated, some that are less easily motivated?
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Uh, how does that work for you?
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Uh let's see.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: He's taking this one kind of seriously.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: He's kind of he's had the smirk.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, you we're not on video, so nobody can see us.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: He's really had this smirk the entire show, but he's dropped the smirk.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Look at that.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Well, here we go.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Uh, you are not the result of your circumstances, you're the result of random blanking chance.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: And I'm not gonna say the word because you know, Steve, we've we got some five-year-olds that are listening to the shows.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: We do that zero to five demographic.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: We are we're a huge hit there.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: Although, although it sounds like based on the way this show is going, that Tony just gave us the F word too.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: But you know, but again, uh, I think he did giving us wisdom, and but yeah, but it sounds like he uh he likes to use that word too.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: But we don't make on it.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Maybe sometimes that's that's this language that motivates.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: That's what it takes to motivate people to make it to make it it, it it gets them out of their comfort zone, gets them out of their comfortable chairs, gets them out of their comfortable hammocks, gets them out of their auto zones or wherever they might be, and just really gets them moving.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: You know, Tony, I just a question.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: I I just I just have to ask, is there a possibility that you would come back on our show?
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Now, now, Tony, we we we don't have a big budget like some of those shows you've been on.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: I mean, you've been on some of those national shows, those big conventions where they rent out you know, ballrooms at the Ritz-Carlton or whatever.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean, I you know, we're not gonna be able to do that, Tony.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: But is there a chance that you would come back on the show and answer our questions?
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Maybe even take questions from listeners.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Oh, gosh, he's he's already done.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Look at this.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: He's already he says uh no.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: That was easier, that was quicker than I would have thought.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: And and you know what, Steve?
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Uh, this it's unfortunate because I think I know that Tony wants to be paid now, but as you know, Steve.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: That we are increasing what we're paying to our guests in the future.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: We are indeed.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: We are indeed.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: And uh that's you know something that Tony could be a part of.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: So maybe Tony can digest that information, kind of could get back to us, hopefully verbally, because I still haven't heard him.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And and maybe if Tony, maybe if Tony goes to our Facebook group, uh the Steve and Jeff Show, or listens to some of our podcasts on you know, could go to Buzzsprout, could go to wherever, wherever Tony, wherever you listen to podcasts, and I know you listen podcasts because you've got a podcast, pal.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: So I know you at least listen to your own, right?
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: So you know, maybe if he listens to a few of them, he'll he'll he'll come around and he'll say, No, they're really trying to do something good, something positive, something growth-oriented, something success-oriented, something to help people.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Because that's really what we're all about on this show, Jeff.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: That really is.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: And as a somebody who wants to work with the best people in the world, you would probably go with the most popular people.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: And Steve, you're and I are the most popular people uh in podcast world.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: And uh so I think that he would benefit, Tony would benefit from working with us.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Jeff, I wasn't 10 feet out of the gate arriving at Randolph Scott Airport when people were swarming all around me.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: It's almost like they knew I was coming, but I don't think they did because I fly under an assumed name.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: I just don't tell, don't tell the FAA, don't tell trans TSA, definitely.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Oh no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: I use a different name, you know, because I'm not they kind of don't like me, you know.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: I'm well, I'm I can fly, but it's like I'm on, you know, I don't know what do they call that?
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: The listen list, the uh I don't know, but but you know, it's yeah, so so I I use it so but they didn't know it was me, but then they did when they saw him, they go, Oh, I know who you are, yeah.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: Now you didn't use uh you didn't use the name that I know you used to use the name uh Tony Zigfield.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: You're not using that though as your alias because well, you know, maybe that's why Tony's not talking to us.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Well, not not on this trip.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: Uh I did I flew into Dallas one time as Tony Zigfield, and uh there was this big limo waiting for me, and they were really surprised because I don't really you don't really look like Tony Ziegfield.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: I said, Well, you know, those are old pictures, and I did it got away for a while, but then they started asking me some questions and they they actually threw me out.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: I was on, you know, one of those uh what do they call those?
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: The the loop highways in Dallas, those uh, you know, the things that go around.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: And I I they they just stopped at near one of the exit ramps and said, Out.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: So I, you know, had to walk.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: It was luckily it was near the racetrack up there, and they and it was just it worked out, but you know, but yeah, that was a little that was a little shocking.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: So I I I kind of don't use that name anymore, but uh no, I I was I was fine with him.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Jeff, I was actually actually flew as you.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: So maybe, but maybe they well that may be your problem.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know they did know because then they thought, oh, this is Jeff of Steve and Jeff.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: But then they saw him, they go, Oh, you're Steve.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: So maybe that's why they were there.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: They knew that one of us was on the plane, Jeff.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Wow, hey, hey Steve.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you're noticing this, but uh Tony's got his eyes closed.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: I think he's in a Zen trance.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: And there may be some sort of words of wisdom that's gonna come out as a result of that, but he looks like he is not with us right now, that he is somewhere else in a you know a higher state.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm hoping that that we'll see something from that.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: I think he has ascended.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: And maybe, maybe what he's thinking about in that meditative state is maybe he's thinking, hey, these guys are not motivational speakers, they're comedy guys.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: So maybe he's he's probably thinking, and you know, you gotta think the way these guys think in these phrases that are gonna catch on, right?
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: So he's thinking, maybe I should turn my rah-rah, flip it around, and turn it into har har.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, what do you think?
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: I bet that's what he's thinking.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: That could be true.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: Now, oh uh uh he's waking up, or at least he's opening his eyes and he's writing us something, and this might be wherever he is during that time.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Wow, you know, no, not with us.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: He's here's what he's bringing.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: Directions to Nirvana.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: So he says the road to success is blurred out on Google Maps.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: You know, this is worth the wait.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: To me, that might be the best one that uh the best piece of advice that I've heard him uh share with us.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: And obviously, he's working hard at it by closing his eyes, oh yeah, you know, controlling his breathing.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: I think maybe he is actually dropping his heart rate down to zero.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Uh as part of that, you know.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: I and it's amazing to watch the process, and and and you know, the just the beauty, the poetry, the simplicity of that of that phrase that the implication that no, your technology won't help you unless you know where you're going.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's brilliant.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, Tony, listen, we're we're just about to get kicked out of uh eccentric Ladyland Studios here, but Tony, uh, it has been a real pleasure, you know, hearing your words of wisdom in our own voices, of course, but we heard your words of wisdom.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: You gave us real motivation, real success orientation.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: I feel so oriented, Jeff.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: And Tony, I just can't thank you enough.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: I hope that in the future maybe we'll uh be able to pay Tony and he come back and and do something with us.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: You know, Steve, so many good things are happening with us right now.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: They are indeed.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: We're just all over the place.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: We're everywhere I turn, we show up.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: You know, I I wake up in the morning and Alexa has an episode.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're right there.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: I'm right there.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: You're right there this morning.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: And sometimes you are there, Steve.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: And and that's always yeah, well, you know, let's not talk about that on the air here.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: You know, we'll we'll talk offline here.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: But but you know, Steve, we have our own group page on Facebook now.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: Steve and Jeff Show, and yeah, getting a lot of really good conversations and you know, people adoring us, which you know is a little embarrassing, but still it's uh it's it's part of the price of success, it's part of the burden of being the leader, the successful people, the engine of comedy and and motivation.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: I think we've motivated some people today, Jeff.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: I know I'm motivated.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, me too.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: And you know what, Steve?
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: I just want to reinforce again, we're doing a worldwide search for guests.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: And you know, and we're gonna if you are somebody that, you know, an everyday hero who is just great and you know has a story to tell, you know, we'd like to hear it.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: So um check out our our our Facebook page, go to our website, you know, reach out to us because we're we're interested.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna have some cool guests, but uh Jeff, we gotta run.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: I will see you, Jeff, on our next show, and we will have another famous great guest.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Thanks, Tony.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: All right, thanks, Tony.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, Tony, I can't thank you enough.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: This was well worth it.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: I'm not talking.
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: Don't ask what I have to say.
