- 0:22Along with all her chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so This morning, I want to
- 0:31talk to you about being creative creativity.
- 0:35Oh gosh, one of my favorite all-time words things to do.
- 0:38I am just obsessed with being creative in any way, shape, or
- 0:44form that I can, it is just something I absolutely adore
- 0:49doing whether it's creating Gardens, whether it's writing
- 0:52books, whether it's, you know, painting drawing coloring.
- 0:56I don't care how simple it can be baking cookies, I just love
- 0:59being creative. And for me, I think creativity
- 1:04is a very misunderstood part of human beings.
- 1:10You know, I grew up in a house where my mother didn't believe
- 1:15that she was creative at all, and it always was sad to me that
- 1:18she just would say things like that constantly, she'd go.
- 1:21Oh well, I'm not creative. You know, your aunt so much more
- 1:24creative than I am yet. She used to make these beautiful
- 1:28Afghans and she would A all the time and she did needlepoint,
- 1:33but she would say that because there was already a picture on
- 1:36the needlepoint that it wasn't creative.
- 1:37It was just her following instructions or because she was
- 1:42crocheting and she was following a pattern that she wasn't being
- 1:45creative and I never bought the story of it, but it always
- 1:51bothered me that she would frame it that way.
- 1:53And as I grew up and as I, you know, learned about creativity
- 2:00on a Level I recognize that so many people do this.
- 2:03So many of my clients feel the same way and they're like, well
- 2:06I'm not creative but then you know, they're amazing cooking
- 2:09and they're like, wow, I'm just following the recipe and we
- 2:12totally beat the crap out of ourselves by saying I'm not
- 2:16creative when we are totally creative.
- 2:19Just because you're following a recipe or somebody else.
- 2:22Somebody else created does. Not mean you're not creative.
- 2:25Of course you are. You're creating that piece
- 2:27you're being creative. You're in the Act of Creation.
- 2:31And we as human beings put ourselves down because we think,
- 2:36oh, unless I came up with the original idea.
- 2:38I'm not creative. And it's a bunch of horse crap.
- 2:41As far as I'm concerned, it does not mean a thing.
- 2:44In fact, human beings are meant to be creative to constantly be
- 2:49in creation. We create our outside world, we
- 2:51create our thoughts, we create our beliefs, we create
- 2:55everything around us, we are a representation of pure potential
- 2:58and creation. So, You denounced that piece
- 3:02when you take that that factor of creation and you ridicule it
- 3:06and say well I'm not creative, you are doing yourself a wild
- 3:10disservice, you know, I have a lot of people who are very
- 3:13analytical and thinking and so don't tell me all the time while
- 3:16I'm not creative but they will send me spreadsheets on stuff
- 3:19that I am blown away by. And I'm like, how could you say
- 3:21you're not creative. You just came up with this
- 3:24amazing spreadsheet. How you put it together?
- 3:26What? You put in here, all the data,
- 3:28that's creativity it. Might not be like art, art paint
- 3:33painting drawing, whatever. But it's still creativity, and
- 3:37this is why I wanted to find this with you guys.
- 3:39I want you to all recognize. Everyone has their own version
- 3:43of being creative. Not everyone has the same gifts.
- 3:48Thank God, I don't want everyone to have the same gifts I have
- 3:51and I don't want everyone to want the same gifts.
- 3:54I have, I want the diversity. I want the fun stuff, I want the
- 3:59fact that, you know, I'm G love. The fact that I don't cook very
- 4:02well. I mean I It's not my thing, I
- 4:05can do it, but it's just not my thing.
- 4:07But my husband's amazing at it and I'm blessed to have somebody
- 4:10that can whip something up. If I ask for it, or he can go to
- 4:14the refrigerator and take out a bunch of random things and make
- 4:17something extraordinary, I do not have that creativity, he
- 4:20does but at the same time I can look at a blank spot in our yard
- 4:25and say oh I can see exactly what kind of garden.
- 4:28I want to put there and create it and it's thrilling to me, to
- 4:32be able to do that or to sit. And say, hey, I'm going to write
- 4:34a book and put a book together and have it done, is just
- 4:39absolutely fulfilling on so many levels.
- 4:43So I want you all to pause and really think about the word
- 4:48creativity. And the fact that creation is
- 4:51part of who we are as human beings.
- 4:54It's part of our experience here and understanding that you have,
- 4:58it understanding that you can cultivate it and it doesn't have
- 5:02to be by a The definition is so important to your growth and
- 5:07thriving. You're going to hear me say this
- 5:08word all the time because that's what it's about for me.
- 5:11I want to find ways for people to help them Thrive, not just
- 5:14survive. I want them to thrive and create
- 5:19being creative is part of thriving getting into that
- 5:23creative Zone, realizing that you have the power in your world
- 5:26to make things happen is astounding and it's a blessing
- 5:31and we have to take it on that way.
- 5:33So today, I want you to pause think about what is your
- 5:36definition of being creative? How do you define it?
- 5:39Do you see yourself that way? And how can you cultivate
- 5:42yourself to see it that way? Changing the definition of it
- 5:45for yourself, I hope you all have an amazing day and are
- 5:48blessed and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:51Bye.
