  Speaker 1: You've coached now in the West. How different is that

  Speaker 1: one conference versus the other when it comes to managing travel,

  Speaker 1: practice time in much more.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, it's harder here in this conference for sure, with

  Speaker 2: the travel the time changes. I feel like, you know,

  Speaker 2: our season here is kind of runs in blocks of

  Speaker 2: you know, five at home, five on the road, six

  Speaker 2: at home, six on the road, and you know it

  Speaker 2: presents it's fair challenges doing that. Certainly, you know, with

  Speaker 2: the travel and the time change, you have a lot

  Speaker 2: less practice time available to you than you do if

  Speaker 2: you're you know, say playing here or when I was

  Speaker 2: with the Islanders or the Washington Capitals. You're you know,

  Speaker 2: playing a road game and you're back in your own

  Speaker 2: bed by twelve thirty kind of things. So there certainly

  Speaker 2: is a little bit of a different challenge here, and

  Speaker 2: I think it's harder out in the West.

  Speaker 1: Against Carolina, you had nobody that less than eleven minutes

  Speaker 1: of ice time in that game. So when you look

  Speaker 1: at the forwards that you can put out there, what

  Speaker 1: advantage is there when it comes to spreading ice time

  Speaker 2: Well, we're in a schedule here where we're playing seventeen

  Speaker 2: games this month. You know, we've played a few of

  Speaker 2: them already. We've got to manage and and sort of

  Speaker 2: divvy up the ice time, and that's where you know,

  Speaker 2: we've had a good sort of response from our fourth line.

  Speaker 2: We were able to trust them, put them out in

  Speaker 2: defensive situations, and you know, so we're gonna have to

  Speaker 2: keep with that trend because with all the games that

  Speaker 2: we play and all the travel that we're doing. You know,

  Speaker 2: you can't overextend too many guys.

  Speaker 1: Anybody has scored one of the more prettier goals that

  Speaker 1: we've seen recently, and against a very high end top

  Speaker 1: defender and Jacob's slave, and he seems confident. But to you,

  Speaker 1: how high is it and how far along is he

  Speaker 1: coming here with this complete game?

  Speaker 2: Well, I just think he's getting better and better. You know,

  Speaker 2: he was already good coming in here, and I didn't

  Speaker 2: know him like I know him now. I hadn't seen

  Speaker 2: him more than once or twice a year. But when

  Speaker 2: you watch him every day, you realize and understand what

  Speaker 2: kind of player he is, you know, and he's he's,

  Speaker 2: I guess, a more complete player than I thought coming

  Speaker 2: in here. It's been a real nice experience, I guess,

  Speaker 2: so to speak, to see him and see him evolve

  Speaker 2: from that standpoint. He's a two high foot guy that

  Speaker 2: puts as much emphasis on defenses as he does offense,

  Speaker 2: and that's exactly what you want out of a guy

  Speaker 2: who is kind of a cornerstone and a leader for
• 3:08
  Speaker 2: the franchise.

  Speaker 1: This evening, he has a little bit of extra for

  Speaker 1: guys like Coppocco and Ryan Lindgren back now in New

  Speaker 1: York City. Where do you define their value at this

  Speaker 1: point of the season.

  Speaker 2: Ah, huge, you know Lindy is I mean, he just

  Speaker 2: gives us ali grid all the time. He's a strong

  Speaker 2: penalty killer, strong in defensive situations. He's a guy, he's

  Speaker 2: sneaky good offensively too. He finds his way into certain
• 3:31
  Speaker 2: areas that you know, you don't think maybe he's going
• 3:36
  Speaker 2: to find his way into, but he does. And you know,

  Speaker 2: I think what he brings for our hockey team as

  Speaker 2: an element to leadership just through example. He's not a

  Speaker 2: vocal guy, but he certainly does does a lead through example.

  Speaker 2: And you know, Coppo had a tough start the season.

  Speaker 2: We've talked many times about him trying to catch the
• 3:54
  Speaker 2: moving train. I think he's caught it, you know, and

  Speaker 2: we're looking forward to having him, you know, stay healthy

  Speaker 2: for the rest of the year here and see where

  Speaker 2: that takes us. But certainly an exciting time for those

  Speaker 2: two guys.

  Speaker 1: Rangers might have a little bit of extra juice after

  Speaker 2: Well, they're they're gonna have extra juice. I mean, they're

  Speaker 2: I guess an embarrassing loss. We would all feel the

  Speaker 2: same way, so you know, sometimes these things happen. But certainly,

  Speaker 2: you know, they've got a very good hockey team over there.

  Speaker 2: The first time we played them, there wasn't much space

  Speaker 2: out there. It's a tight game. They're very good defensively,

  Speaker 2: even though you wouldn't think so the other night they are.

  Speaker 2: And you know, and they've got some world class players

  Speaker 2: been Aaron is great. Obviously it's been a jat and

  Speaker 2: you know Miller is you know, these are three guys

  Speaker 2: here that are as good as anybody in the league basically,

  Speaker 2: So you know they've got that talent level there. So

  Speaker 2: we're gonna have to be ready.
