- 2:34Dave. Good to be on, Thanks for having me, Thanks for
- 2:37being here. The polls are polls are out there, more and you know
- 2:39how poles are. There are all kinds of any candidate. Any organization can
- 2:45manipulate him to say whatever it is they want. However, there seems to
- 2:47be a constant in one in just about any poll I've seen here as of
- 2:52late, and that seems to be the rise of More Capital. Now some
- 2:55polls, have you been a little bit behind Attorney General Patrick Moore see the
- 3:00race for Republican nominates for governor others have you neck and neck, while at
- 3:02least others, some others have you in the lead. Either way, the
- 3:06takeaway is more capital stock is rising, and you got some serious momentum right
- 3:10now. We have great momentum, Dave, and it's a continuation of what
- 3:15we've been doing this entire campaign, and that's being on the road every single
- 3:19day in counties in West Virginia, showing up and listening to the people of
- 3:23West Virginia. You know, I said this last night, but I'm a
- 3:25firm believer that the you know, the answers and the solutions to the challenges
- 3:30that we face as a state are in the communities and with the people.
- 3:35And as I said, you know, as your governor, I will always
- 3:38be in the communities and with the people. These polls are you know what
- 3:44they are, and there's tons of polls, but there's one thing, as
- 3:46you nailed it on the head, that's a constant, and that is the
- 3:49trend line. And the trend line shows us moving up. And it's because
- 3:53we're out there every single day our message about creating jobs and continuing on the
- 3:58momentum that Governor just this has started in this state to create and bring more
- 4:02opportunity to West Virginia is resonating, and that momentum is not going to stop.
- 4:09We have early voting today. I'm excited you mention it. And here
- 4:12we go into this election season right at the right time, and we're going
- 4:15to sprint through the tape and we feel really really great about its bag of
- 4:18Governor Justice, how important was the endorsement of Governor Justice to your campaign?
- 4:23Well, Governor Justice has been a consequential leader in the state of West Virginia.
- 4:29I've worked with Governor Justice over the past seven years to build a foundational
- 4:35structure in the state of West Virginia to support growth. We know, at
- 4:40the end of the day, this is all about keeping our kids here.
- 4:44How that's one of the best ways that we grow, and I think Governor
- 4:46Justice has been focused on that. You know, I'm not only excited about
- 4:51that endorsement of Governor Justice, but I'm honored because I think his acknowledgment of
- 4:56my campaign shows that we have a real offer opportunity to continue the momentum that
- 5:00we've started here in West Virginia, and as your governor, that's exactly what
- 5:04I'll do. It's critically important that a governor has a good relationship with our
- 5:10federal delegation. And you know, Jim Justice is going to be the next
- 5:14Senator in West Virginia, and I know the other senator pretty dagone well,
- 5:17and so we're going to work together to make sure that we bring prosperity together
- 5:21to West Virginia. So Governor Justice's endorsement is huge. I've been campaigning on
- 5:27the road with him over the last couple of weeks. There's been tremendous excitement
- 5:31and enthusiasm out there. I don't know whether it's the two of us there
- 5:35or that Baby Dog's there and Baby Dog has endorsed us, but either way,
- 5:39there's a lot of excitement. Know your role, You're always going to
- 5:42be you and then the Jim both are going to be behind Baby Dog.
- 5:45Just know that last night w SAZ Television hosted a gubernatorial for him. How
- 5:50do you think it did? What was your takeaway last night? Was great?
- 5:54I felt great about anytime we had the opportunity to deliver our message and
- 6:00vision to the state of West Virginia in to voting West Virginians is critically important.
- 6:05And what I did last night was I laid out a plan to take
- 6:09West Virginia to the next level. And if you watch that debate, what
- 6:13you will see as we are talking about how we are going to grow jobs
- 6:17and grow opportunity, how we're going to build more roads, how we're going
- 6:20to provide world class education to our children, how we're going to have the
- 6:26safest communities in the country. And we have plans to do that. We
- 6:30have plans that are on our website, we have plans that we've talked about
- 6:33on the radio and in the media. And I think that's critically important for
- 6:38West Virginians to look at the governor candidate who has a plan to take West
- 6:44Virginia to the next level, and we're the only one talking about a plan
- 6:46to do that. All right, to bar Capita again, the Republican candidate

- 7:13I had on their Republican strategist Rob Corneili. He's longtime contributed to this show,
- 7:16a guy who can be very entertaining at times. Monday's show, he
- 7:20stated that, you, sir, had failed to say that you would vote
- 7:25for President Trump. Your campaign director issued a statement which I read in full
- 7:30on the air yesterday morning show, in effect saying you are supporting President Trump
- 7:33and planned to vote for him. This is a quote from you that was
- 7:38included in the memo to me. Quote, I think it's critically important Donald
- 7:41Trump win in November. I support President Trump, I've endorsed him, and
- 7:45we've made that perfectly clear in quote. Would you care to add anything to
- 7:48that statement? Well, I don't know. Well, the gentleman that was
- 7:53on your show, he seems like a nice fellow. But let me be
- 7:56crystal clear. I support Donald Trump, I've endorsed Donald Trump, and everywhere
- 8:03I go across the state of West Virginia, I'm actively asking West Virginians to
- 8:07get on board with me to make sure that we elect Donald Trump the president
- 8:11of the United States. If you listen to the debate last night, I
- 8:15made it also very crystal clear that one of the most important things that we
- 8:18can do in November is ensure that Donald Trump is the next president of the
- 8:22United States. And in that instance, I said it because Donald Trump is
- 8:26built the greatest economy of my lifetime. He brought jobs and opportunity here.
- 8:33Part of his campaign platform right now actually includes the state of West Virginia in
- 8:39his portfolio to bring energy independence back to this country. So it's critically important
- 8:45that we elect Donald Trump to become president. I support him, I endorse
- 8:50him. I'm out there asking everybody to vote for him every single day.
- 8:54I feel more it's none of anybody's business who people vote for once they close
- 8:58the curtain at the ballot booth. But I will ask the question, will
- 9:01you be voting for Donald Trump for president? One hundred percent will be voting
- 9:05for Donald Trump to be president. Are you surprised that the Republican primary for
- 9:11governor has gotten ugly? There's been some big time shots fired. You know,
- 9:16many of them, I mean interrupted, many of them, not from
- 9:18the candidates themselves, but from you know, the packs. But take it
- 9:22from there, well, you know I've been around. You know, I'm
- 9:26a lifelong West Virginia I've been around a lot of and seen a lot of
- 9:31campaigns, and you see a lot of things in campaigns, But one thing
- 9:35I've really developed over those years is great faith in the voters of West Virginia
- 9:41to be able to separate noise from news. So let me give you some
- 9:46news, Dave, as House Judiciary Chairman, I passed the most conservative agenda
- 9:52in the history of the state. I have a plan to take West Virginia
- 9:56to the next level. We're going to have the safest communit cities in the
- 10:00country right here in West Virginia. We have a plan to provide world class
- 10:03education to our kids, develop their trade skills so that we can be ready
- 10:07to meet the demands of the twenty first century workforce. And we're going to
- 10:11continue on the momentum that we've created in this economy so that we're cutting ribbons
- 10:16day in and day out with in West Virginia. Just as Governor Justice has
- 10:20I would say again, a sign of that is that Governor Justice has endorsed
- 10:26my campaign. He has begun a movement and we will take it to the
- 10:30next level. I know you have every intention of winning come May fourteenth,
- 10:33and you're probably not thinking about anything beyond that. But if you were not
- 10:39to win, would you are you going to support whoever the nominee is if
- 10:43it's not you. I'm a Republican, and just as I said, we'll
- 10:46make sure that all Republicans up and down the ballot in West Virginia win.
- 10:50You know, I'm somebody that actually built the supermajority here in the state of
- 10:56West Virginia. So I'm committed to the idea that there's always strength in numbers,
- 11:01and the more Republicans that we can have in office, the better.
- 11:05Why are you the better candidate for governor? Well, this is all about
- 11:09experience. I've governed before, Dave. When you look at the momentum that
- 11:13we have in this you know, in the economy right now, and again
- 11:18I go back to the endorsement of Governor Jim Justice, and we talk about
- 11:22this a lot when we've been campaigning together. We have a tremendous amount of
- 11:26momentum. You know, I've been very proud that I'm the person in this
- 11:30race that's cut taxes to the tune of seven hundred and fifty million dollars that
- 11:35we gave back to hard working West Virginians. I'm a person in this race
- 11:39that's actually provided school choice to parents. I'm the person in this race that
- 11:43on multiple occasions has provided educators with raises. I'm the person in this race
- 11:50that banned sanctuary cities in the state of West Virginia. I'm the person in
- 11:54this race that wrote the bill to ban China from buying farmland in the state
- 11:58of West Virginia. I say all of those things to go back to our
- 12:03campaign message, and that is that I am to get it done conservative in
- 12:07this race, I'm someone that has gotten it done, has the experience of
- 12:11having gotten it done. I will get it done and we will always continue
- 12:15to get it done for the people of West Virginia. And that requires somebody
- 12:18that is that listens and then does. It's about execution when you're leading,
- 12:24and I have a track record of doing that, and I'm the only person
- 12:26in this race that does more. Capitol Republican candidate for governors said to West
- 12:31Virginia, I appreciate you being here, Thanks a lot, and best of
- 12:35luck in the campaign. Man. Appreciate it. Thanks Dave, thanks for

- 15:26Stop lying. He's a threat to democracy and you know it, but
- 15:28are too scared to call it out. Tex says Donald Trump took over a
- 15:33growing economy from Obama and ran it into the ground. He also tanked the
- 15:35COVID crisis. We know what we get with Trump, uncertainty, chaos,
- 15:39and a toddlered mind with a tyranny complex, says a Texter. Texter says
- 15:45Dave. We are still last in job creation and job participation of the country,
- 15:48last in education. Only state that is still losing population have more overdose

- 16:06to run it into the committee. Now he wants credit for it, says
- 16:10a Texter. Get her done, more capital, says a Texter. Early
- 16:15voting is underway in West Virginia ten days, including the next two Saturdays,
- 16:18various locations here in Kennaw County two and Putnam County. I run down the
- 16:22entire list a little later. The guy who along with the community of the
- 16:25community clerks, the county clerks, it's their job to make sure things run
- 16:27smoothly. Secretary of State Macwarner here in his Secretary of State role today,
- 16:32not necessarily as gubernatorial candidate. Macwarner he joins us. Now, good morning,
- 16:36sir, welcome to the show. Good morning, great to be with
- 16:38you, Dave. Early voting is underway. What are you hearing out there
- 16:41this morning? Hopefully you aren't hearing anything, which is good, right,
- 16:45That's always good when it comes to the lif Things are moving smoothly. I've
- 16:48been around the state talking many of the clerks. Everybody is doing fine.
- 16:53People did the testing, logic and accuracy testing a week or so ago,
- 17:00complaints out of that. The clerks are ready. The polls are open now,
- 17:04so anybody wants to early vote, to go vote. And we're looking
- 17:07forward to just a nice, smooth election. I talked to Canawa County Clerk
- 17:11Vera McCormick a couple of hours ago, and of course, you know,
- 17:14she's running around like crazy, being the county clerk of the biggest county in
- 17:17the state of West Virginia, making sure everything was good. No issues there
- 17:19now Here in Kanawha County, you can vote at the voter Registration office on
- 17:22Courrier Street, the Cross Lane Sheriff's Office, Belltown Hall, City Hall in
- 17:26St. Albans, Assistantville Library, LK Community Center, Marmette Town Hall,
- 17:32the City of Nitro Police Department and the Girl Scouts Black Diamond Council on Virginia
- 17:36Street, West Putnam County. Early voting happening starting today on the second floor
- 17:40of the courthouse and the Valley Park Conference Center. Your County Clerk's office or
- 17:44the Secretary of State's office has more information about it. Regardless, mac there
- 17:48are plenty of opportunities to get out there and vote. There certainly are,
- 17:51and I want to remind people there are two trusted sources, one of the
- 17:55Secretary of State's website and it's go votewv dot com and others the County Cloaks
- 18:00office, and so those are the two places you want to go to for
- 18:03anything elections related. Our website, go vowv dot com has your early polling
- 18:10locations, your specific ballot if you want to pull that up. It's very
- 18:12easy to use. Just type in your name in your address, your specific
- 18:17ballot will pop up. So there's already been in this situation a week or
- 18:22so ago where it's impulsor or a bad information is put out. We've corrected
- 18:26that not on our say, but from a candidate's prospective website. So our
- 18:30information was put out. So just remind people to go to where you know
- 18:34the information is correct. And again that's the county clerk and the second day
- 18:38of State's office. I want to play worst case scenario here, Mac.
- 18:41I get to my polling place, I try to check in, but I
- 18:45find they don't have my name on the poll book, or I'm listed in
- 18:47the wrong precincts, or maybe I'm a Republican. They have me listed as
- 18:52a Democrat. Pretty much any kind of issue, and I know in your
- 18:55role, you've seen them all. So what happens there? I got an
- 18:57issue when I come to the poll they can't find my name and I'm the
- 19:00wrong party, residence is wrong, whatever what happens, Well, the co
- 19:03workers have been trained that everybody is going to be able to vote. Now,
- 19:07what you'll vote is a provisional ballot. If any of the information is
- 19:10incorrect, you'll vote a provisional ballots and then that can be straightened out.
- 19:14That's what we do during canvassing, which occurs six days after the election.
- 19:18So this year, the ections May fourteenth candlasting will occur on Monday the twentieth,
- 19:22and that's when the ballot commissioners will go through each of the provisional ballots
- 19:26and determine whether it's ballot or not. One of the advantages of voting early
- 19:32is that you can go to any of those early voting locations and cast your
- 19:36ballot. On election day, you have to go to your specific precinct to
- 19:40have your ballot count, so you're not voting a provisional ballot. Yeah,
- 19:45that's very important to know, because I listened to all those MAC in Kanaha
- 19:51County. You don't necessarily have to vote in your precinct. You know,
- 19:53you can vote at any of those early voting locations, which everyone is more
- 19:57convenient for you. That's on the early voting period. You can't do that
- 20:00on election day. To Dave Alan, showing five eighty Live is brought to
- 20:03you part by Morgan and Morgan. If you're injured, contact America's largest injury
- 20:07law firm, Visit for the People dot Com. All right, So we
- 20:11also want to make sure people realize that if you are a registered independent MAC
- 20:15and you have to add then you have to ask for a Republican or Democrat
- 20:18ballot now, and that's as of now. As an independent, you can
- 20:22choose which ballot you want, but you have to ask poll workers are not
- 20:26allowed to ask you which one you want. It's very important that people that
- 20:30people know that if I'm a registered independent, I have to go in and
- 20:33say, here's my name, here's my registration card, my ID. I'm
- 20:37an independent, but I want a Democrat ballot or I want a Republican bout.
- 20:40Very important that people know that that's exactly right. And there may be
- 20:45a little bit of confusion out there because here six weeks, a month,
- 20:48a couple of months ago, there was a big Blue haha and the pulping
- 20:52the party about shutting down closing the primary elections that won won't occur until twenty
- 20:57twenty six. We can address that two years from now. Right now,
- 21:02it's going to be the same type of voting that we've done in the past.
- 21:06So you're absolutely correct. If you are an independent or a non affiliated
- 21:10person and you go in to ask for a ballot, you get to ask
- 21:14for either a Republican orgin pret ballot in this election anything else. As far
- 21:19as the early voting that you'd like to add, mac, well, let
- 21:23me just go through a few key days. Early voting does start today May
- 21:26first, and just will go through May eleven, So that includes two Saturdays.
- 21:32There isn't any on Sunday, but two Saturdays. If you want to
- 21:36vote an absentee ballot, if you just found out you're going to be out
- 21:38of stage or some reason why you can't vote on election day, you have
- 21:44until May eighth, that six days prior to the election, until May eighth,
- 21:48ask for a absentee ballot. If you do vote absentee, it does
- 21:52have to be postmarked. That envelope that you send it back in it has
- 21:56to be postmarked by May fourteenth for its account. And then again, of
- 22:00course, voting in person on election day is actually the most secure, the
- 22:03best way of voting. There's still two weeks to go, and a lot
- 22:07of things can happen in two weeks, so the traditionalists like to go vote.
- 22:12Sometimes it's a family tradition that taking kids to the ballot box with you
- 22:15to let them experience that. So the best standard for voting is in person
- 22:22on election day at your local precinct on the watchful eye trained observers from both
- 22:27parties. But we do offer that ten days of early voting that is starting
- 22:33today. So those are some of the key dates for people that in the
- 22:37Yeah, I asked you to be on as a Secretary of State, but
- 22:41I would be remiss if I didn't ask you that you are running for governor.
- 22:44Anything to report there. I know the w SEZ had a foim last
- 22:48night. I'll watch it. I thought you and all of the candidates did
- 22:51did very well last night. Anything you'd like to report on that front.
- 22:55I felt very good coming out of there. I've had a lot of number
- 22:56of positive reactions to it. I was dead that all the candidates showed up
- 23:02to participating in that and don't listen to the polls, and I've even heard
- 23:06you, Dave strink at some of the cool aids from these polls that have
- 23:08been paidful about this other candidate. I think a lot of people are going
- 23:11to be surprised on election day. The poet that we've done has shown that
- 23:15we're all in this race together, that there's no one that's a fair leader,
- 23:19and no one that's out of the four major candidates. So just pay
- 23:25attention to the issues and move to the person who's got the leadership, the
- 23:29wisdom, the sophistication, and when people look at that, Clarry mc corner
- 23:33stands out from all the other candidates I appreciate you about MACKI. It's always
- 23:37a pleasure to talk to you. I wish you and the county clerks and
- 23:40the staffs and all the poll workers all the best for the next ten days.
- 23:42It's a busy time. Thanks and we will talk soon. Man.

- 24:41gonna talk to Teresa Howe, who's the Republican candidate for House in District fifty
- 24:44two, coming up a little bit later on. I mean, I got
- 24:45some text here, and I got a ton of texts to get to.
- 24:49Text says, if you're an independent, you want to vote for both sides.
- 24:52Why do you have to ask for a ballot Democratic Republican because it's the
- 24:56primary. And I you know when I when I was working for the Secretary
- 24:59of States, and I used to go into high schools and I would talk
- 25:02to kids, and well not just high schools. I mean I went to
- 25:03a lot of places and talk to people doing the community outreach thing. I
- 25:07used to try to explain it to people as think of it in a sports
- 25:12analogy. This is like the regular season. The primary election is like the
- 25:18regular season, and you are then voting for someone to move on to the
- 25:22playoffs, which is the general election. So in West Virginia right now,
- 25:26if you are a registered independent, and make no mistake about it, the
- 25:30fastest growing party in West Virginia seems to be independent or nonpartisan at this point,
- 25:34or any number of names you want to call it. There are a
- 25:38lot of folks, especially younger people, that are signing up that way.
- 25:41I learned that from my time in the office as well. But if you
- 25:44are an independent, you have to you have to choose do you want a
- 25:48Republican ballot or do you want a Democrat ballot? Because you are choosing people,
- 25:52it's a nominating process that you are then nominating someone to move to what
- 25:56would be the playoffs, which is the general election. Come nova. And
- 26:00I always like to say that because by state code, a poll worker is
- 26:06not allowed to say, okay, Ryan, my producer comes in, he's
- 26:08a registered and independent. A poll worker can't say, okay, Ryan Nicholson,
- 26:12you are an independent. Do you want a Democrat or Republican ballot?
- 26:15They are not allowed to say that because the reason for that is is you
- 26:21could depending on who the poll worker is. I'm not saying necessarily they would
- 26:23do this, but you could possibly lead someone. You know, the illustration
- 26:30that I used to give, and it's much easier when you see it in
- 26:32person, was I would say, Okay, do you want this Republican ballot
- 26:36or do you want this Democrat valot? You know, So that's just basically
- 26:40their signs up that says, Okay, if you're an independent, you have
- 26:42to choose which ballot you want, or if you don't want to do that,
- 26:45then you can only vote for nonpartisan races. You can still vote for
- 26:48judges, you can still vote for board of education, anything that's nonpartisan.
- 26:52But that's why that is now again the state Republican Party and their executive can
- 27:00meetings, if you will recall, several months ago, voted that they are
- 27:04going to close the primaries come I think it's twenty twenty six, meaning at
- 27:07that time, if it stays as as is, then it won't be that
- 27:14way. If you're an independent, you will not be able to request a
- 27:17Republican ballot. And there's a lot of controversy about that. It was actually
- 27:21put off because the you know, and I think rightfully so, that it
- 27:22was put off because it would be a ton of work on what is already
- 27:26very a stressful time for county clerks and Secretary of State's office and so on
- 27:30and so forth. Now, so they decided to put it off a couple
- 27:33of years so it wouldn't be in the quote unquote big. Every election is
- 27:37big, but you know, you have the four year cycle like this year
- 27:40where we vote for president and governor and so on and so forth. So
- 27:42they decided to put it off to that time. And I'm hearing there's going
- 27:45to be some wrangling behind the scenes to see maybe if if it doesn't change
- 27:51that time. But we'll just take one We'll just take one thing at a
- 27:53time. Let me see. Texas mc warner called closing the primary a brew
- 28:00haha with the dirty little secret is that Mack and his wife brother were puppet
- 28:04masters behind the effort. Don't let these guys full of the listeners, says
- 28:07he texter getting getting nasty and Mack tells me, I'm drinking the kool aid.
- 28:11Did you notice that he said I was drinking kool aid? Texas women

- 31:34Thank you for being here. Give us the bio and Teresa Howe? Who
- 31:37is Teresa how Teresa Howe is a lifelong resident of the Upper Canal Valley.
- 31:41I grew up in Marmette. I'm a Christian, a wife, a mother,
- 31:45and I should tell my daughter Hannah happy birthday. She's actually a small
- 31:48business owner here in Charleston and she's out working today. Happy birthday to Hannah.
- 31:52What business does she and we'll even give her a free commercial? Hows
- 31:55she is a cosmetologist. Okay, well I could use that. Yes,
- 31:57she does, and she does great. What's the name of her business?
- 32:00She works at NBC Salon. It's on Corner Street. Well, if you
- 32:05need prettied up, go see Hannah. That's right, that's right, And
- 32:07today's her birthday? Do you care to tell us how she is or twenty
- 32:12four? Twenty four? Yes, yeah, I got socks older than that,
- 32:15but anyway, go ahead. Yes, I am a registered nurse.
- 32:19I've been a nurse for twenty six years. I graduated from the University of
- 32:22Charleston. This past year, I've been helping my husband solely in his accounting
- 32:27firm in bell We are very proud that we have created an internship to help
- 32:32with the college students in the area, and so he has multiple students that
- 32:37will be working with him, that work with him now and also will be
- 32:40over the summer. I was the Kennall County Republican Executive Committee chairman for four
- 32:45years and did a successful term and completed at mid July of twenty twenty two.
- 32:52We advocated strongly for Republicans. We pushed the policies. West Virginia has
- 32:58one of the strongest platfs in the nation, so that's what led us to
- 33:02politics. We have been strong advocates, my husband and I for the Upper
- 33:07Kanal Valley and being a grassroots of volunteer and advocate, you know, that's
- 33:13what led us to getting in touch with our representatives and making sure that we
- 33:16have people that understand what we need in the Upper Canal Valley. There's not
- 33:21a day that doesn't go by that I'm not on the phone with one of
- 33:24our representatives, and as a matter of fact, when I leave here,
- 33:28I have a meeting with two in regards to discussing some development for the Upper
- 33:32Canal Valley. You know, I have been in contact with kit Landhart.
- 33:37He's our Agriculture commissioner. We had the push to try to get the future
- 33:42farmers of America started in the school system for the Kanaal Valley, and unfortunately
- 33:46that didn't take place, but you know, it's a great program. I
- 33:50listened at a seminar where three high schools. You know, they've actually done
- 33:54really well with that program and kids they've developed the skills to run see see
- 34:00machines, and they sell these products and get them back into their own program
- 34:04and use those funds. I've been in contact with Chris Warner, he works
- 34:08with the Economic Development and it was around twenty seventeen. He asked, He's
- 34:14like, what do you think West Virginia needs, And I automatically said,
- 34:16still manufacturing. The other thing I said is we're missing the mark for our
- 34:22kids with you know, sports. A lot of these kids are traveling out
- 34:27of state for travel, sports and things of that nature. Lance Wheeler,
- 34:30I told him the same thing. He's our County Commissioner. So now we're
- 34:34actually starting to see some development. I've been a strong advocate, you know,
- 34:37I you know, let them know, hey, these are some things
- 34:39that we would like to see in our area, and unfortunately we're not quite
- 34:44seeing the development for the Upper Canal Valley. There is some things that's going
- 34:47on, and I understand that we will have a visit today in the Bello
- 34:52area from one of our representatives. They're developing a trail system up there,
- 34:57so I'm very proud of that. Even being on the Camp Paint trail.
- 35:00This has been a little bit different than advocating for Republicans to get an office.
- 35:05Now it's my turn to step How different one a's you isn't it much
- 35:07different? Much different? You know, I've had people to reach out to
- 35:10me. Our senior citizens are having you know, they're struggling with what's going
- 35:15on with the economy, and they're like, where you know, what food
- 35:17sources do we have and so forth. So automatically I reached out to Kent
- 35:22leanhard and he gave me the organizations they could reach out to, and you
- 35:27know that's actually helped as well. So again we're talking to Teresa how who's
- 35:30a Republican running for House in district of fifty two. So you talked about
- 35:35your work advocating for other candidates and things that you've done different things in the
- 35:38community. So why what led you to this decision to say, Okay,
- 35:43I need to start working for myself, so to speak. And I'm technically
- 35:46not working for yourself. You work with the people. I get that,
- 35:49but I mean to want to do this for yourself as opposed to other people.
- 35:52What was it that led to that decision? After lots of prayer,
- 35:57I've you know, had many people saying, hey, why don't you put
- 36:00your name into the race and so that way you'll have a different voice.
- 36:04And I wasn't quite ready for that, and I had, honestly, I
- 36:07had to do a lot of praying about it, and I decided that I
- 36:12would put my name in the hat for the fifty second district. I considered
- 36:15the commission, but the reason why we got involved, with my husband and
- 36:19I was because our kids didn't want to leave the area, and so we
- 36:22were concerned about job growth and so forth. And we figured that if I
- 36:25did the fifty second district, we could solely focus on development for the Upperkenal
- 36:30Valley and what our needs are. And so that's why we'll be on the
- 36:34ballot for the fifty second district. I've developed many strong working relationships with people
- 36:38that are in the legislature. Now. I have endorsements from Senators, from
- 36:44delegates, from our representatives, and the Board of Public Works, and so
- 36:47I advocate strongly and I work with them. I've spoke up public hearings for
- 36:52some of the bills they've had in the legislature in support of them or against
- 36:58them. I've you know, email by call, a text, and so
- 37:00that way we already have a working relationship. Any subject that you have,
- 37:05whether it would be economic development, whether it would be education, election integrity,
- 37:09I've tapped on all of those subjects. Talk with Teresa, how now
- 37:14talk about District fifty two. What area are we talking about here? What
- 37:16does it? What does it encompass? Is it starts around the Connall Mall
- 37:20area around fifty second Street Street where Enterprise of Reno car is and it goes
- 37:24to Montgomery and it actually crosses over into the Fayette County side of Montgomery as
- 37:30well. So it's just a small area there. You cross the river on
- 37:32route sixty and you start around the Houston area and go down to Rand.
- 37:37It does not go up to the area of Witcher Creek, it doesn't take
- 37:42Campbell's Creek, it doesn't take Hernshaw and so it's basically along those the roadway
- 37:47there. What is it about that area that you like so much? I
- 37:52grew up in Marmett. I was a child that was twelve years old and
- 37:58I would walk from one end of Marmette to the other to get to the
- 38:00parks and recreation facilities they would hold force over the summer. I was the
- 38:05child that the church bands picked up on Wednesdays and Sundays and when they would
- 38:09take me to church. That's what our community is all about. I've actually
- 38:14worked, you know, greatly to try to get out in the communities and
- 38:17discuss this with everyone. I'm a strong advocate for faith. I think that
- 38:22that is one of the things that we're missing for the people that are struggling
- 38:24with addiction. You know. I have one of the doctors I worked with
- 38:30when I floated to the e Ar at one point he actually had worked with
- 38:32the local addiction center and he had asked me, He's like, what do
- 38:37you think about faith? Based support for the addiction. I'm like that is
- 38:40you know, I have discussed that in multitude a multitude of times, and
- 38:44so he had me to reach out to area preachers and so they could actually
- 38:49come in and do some faith based training with the they struggling with addiction.
- 38:53It's a definite problem, yes, it is. What do you see as
- 38:57some of the other I don't want to make it nowative and say what are
- 39:00the problems of the fifty second district, but let's say what are some of
- 39:02the issues pro or con One of the great things fifty second has going for
- 39:08it and some things that you hope to work on afelecting. One of the
- 39:13things we see is population loss. We have a total of ten municipalities in
- 39:17a fifty second district that includes the sliver of Charleston. There's several areas that
- 39:22are unincorporated. So we use our current representatives in the County Commission as our
- 39:27voice. So we need to have job job development education. Our percentage rate
- 39:34I believe the last I checked of our students that are graduating from high school
- 39:37has declined a little bit. You have maybe half of those kids that go
- 39:42into higher education, and then you know after the first year, there's a
- 39:46percentage that don't go back, and so we have that population. I have
- 39:52a strong advocate for education, whether it would be college or whether it would
- 39:54be expanding our trades programs. I would like to see that back into the
- 39:59high school, you know, even greater to where these kids don't have to
- 40:05you know, viye for the positions they have at the career centers because they're
- 40:08so limited on space. I actually message one of our representatives and I'm like,
- 40:12why don't you take one of these government buildings in Colennall City and consolidate
- 40:15them and let's advocate and get this developed into another or you know, even
- 40:22move Carver to here so that way they can expand and even create an entrepreneur
- 40:27program. We not only want jobs, we want kids to be able to
- 40:30create jobs and adults and you know, to flourish those ideas, because that's
- 40:34what it's all about. Talk with Teresa how Dave Allenchow and five Day The

- 46:01Democrats, Don Blankenship, you've probably seen the TV ads and rest assured I
- 46:07am going to ask him about the TV ads because they are a little different,
- 46:10to say the least. The Don Blanketship, who is Democrat running for
- 46:15US Senate, will be on the show tomorrow. There's some big happenings going
- 46:19on in Nitro this week, and lots of towns and cities are getting together
- 46:22because if you look at the calendar, it's May. It's May fourth.
- 46:25And I'm not a Star Wars guy, but I mean, I know,
- 46:29a kid of the seventies. How in the heck can I not be a
- 46:30Star Wars guy? But just not my thing. But this whole May fourth
- 46:34thing is huge, and I know that Nitro's got some things with May the
- 46:37fourth be with you. City Hurricane, does I get some folks from the

- 46:54wait programming Note. I originally had Conawa County School Board member and candidate for
- 46:59real actually Cavitor schedule will be on the show today. He had a scheduling
- 47:02conflict and he had to reschedule. Get him on the schedule real soon,
- 47:06probably one day next week. I will let you know when it is.
- 47:09You know it happens. He's a dad and you know it happens. So
- 47:15we had to reschedule, so we'll try to get him rescheduled for next week.
- 47:19Also, I want to say this, if you are a candidate for
- 47:22office, and you've heard me say this for months now, and if you
- 47:24want on the show, you better get with me soon. We only have
- 47:28the rest of this week and all next week and then the Monday and Tuesday
- 47:32of election day to get you on. That's it. Try me an email
- 47:36Dave dot allenwvradio dot com Dave dot allenwvradio dot com, and I'll do my
- 47:40best to get you on the schedule. Keep in mind it is a first
- 47:45come first serve basis, and I'm simply not going to be able to have
- 47:49everyone on that wanted on. That's why I've been saying since January, get
- 47:52on the schedule. I had people in January that booked with me to be
- 47:57on, like you know, a couple of days before the election, and
- 48:00they would have had booked at dead So good on them. I'm doing my
- 48:02best, but it starts with you don't contact me the day before the election
- 48:07or on election day saying you didn't get your shot. As my old granny
- 48:09would say, I done took and told you you had time to get on
- 48:14the schedule. But make it happen. Hopy kirschwill coming up to ten o

- 49:10get a chance to catch the WSAZ gubnatorial for him last night? I did
- 49:16U and I will say my takeaway was, I thought they all did well,
- 49:21all the candidates that were on last night. The rules, and I
- 49:25will say kudos to w SAZ for doing it this way, no attacks and
- 49:30the candidates were not allowed to directly address each other. I thought Tim Eyre
- 49:35and Sarah Sager, who moderated as well, I thought they did a fantastic
- 49:38job. And they were right on it as far as the time goes.
- 49:44The candidates didn't have to go more than one or two seconds over before they
- 49:49heard the buzzer to shut it down, and they all did well. I
- 49:52think, you know, Chris Miller reiterated the fact that he's going to eliminate
- 49:58the state income tax on day one. Spoiler alert, Chris, he can't
- 50:04do that and he won't do that. Now, he could say he'll work
- 50:07toward it, but to eliminate at day one the governor doing that ain't happening.
- 50:14Also, he continues to support drug testing for welfare recipients. I think
- 50:19a lot of people do, but the devils of the details, and that's
- 50:24it's been thrown out in courts across America. I'm a I'm a proponent,
- 50:30I'm for it, but the courts have said otherwise. But again, I'm
- 50:34not hating on Chris. I'm just saying that, you know, you say
- 50:37those things, and it's easy to say, but maybe you got to say
- 50:39and again he didn't ask me for my advice. Maybe you should say,
- 50:42I'm gonna work on these things and I'm not going to necessarily do Overall,
- 50:45though I thought the event was very nicely done. Kudos to ws A Z.
- 50:50I don't know how much it will actually move the needles we've been talking
- 50:52about throughout the morning. Early voting is underway effective this morning. It is
- 50:57worth noting, though, that there are still a lot of people that are
- 51:00undecided who they will vote for in the Republican primary. I did an informal
- 51:06poll yesterday among some of my Republican friends. I spoke to a grand total
- 51:10ryan of about ten, because that's really pushing it for me to have that
- 51:15many friends to begin with, and I ask them who they're voting for.
- 51:19Of those numbers, I got two, Chris Miller's three more capitos, and
- 51:24the rest were undecided. Again, that's about as informal as you can get.
- 51:30Not exactly a coveted base. There. Have you been watching the coverage
- 51:37of the protest of various college campuses. I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 51:39I'm gonna close with this. My patients is wearing them with these people,
- 51:43and I'm not talking about protesting. I'm all for protest. Knocked yourself out,
- 51:46free speech, I'm one hundred percent for a free speech absolutist. But
- 51:52when you start trespassing and tearing up things and assaulting people. You all have

- 52:06I'd had said the same things about the riots in the cities too. Once
