- 1:56Robots and monsters. I love Portland BBD.
- 2:06I love Portland. Great city, good town.
- 2:10So we're back. It's the weekly show.
- 2:12Let's get into it. I have a lot to cover today.
- 2:15We're going to do the damn thing.
- 2:17Don't know if you were here last night for our Cradle Of Filth
- 2:20discussion. Absolutely got a lot to talk
- 2:23about. Speaking of Cavaleris, Richie
- 2:27Cavaleris celebrated a birthday. I don't know if you caught our
- 2:31interview with him just last week.
- 2:33New Inside album. Now Max has got a lot of stuff
- 2:36going on. Getting ready for that Cavalier
- 2:39Fear Factory tour where Max and Igor and band are going to play
- 2:44Chaos AD in complete full every show.
- 2:48So we'll be talking about that very soon.
- 2:52So First things first man, I want to just open up the show
- 2:55with something a little, you know something on my mind.
- 3:02I love this meme. I'm going to big in this.
- 3:04I'm sorry for everybody not on TikTok that can't see this.
- 3:06The best experience for this show is always twitch, YouTube,
- 3:09Facebook and Instagram. But I like hanging out on
- 3:13TikTok. Hopefully eventually our
- 3:15streaming partner will get TikTok also.
- 3:18This is how it feels inside my head.
- 3:20If you're watching this, it's a whole telephone closet of
- 3:23wireless or ITY closet. It's like a server or closet
- 3:26form. It's crazy.
- 3:29These are, I don't like using the word unprecedented anymore
- 3:32because people seem to get it wrong.
- 3:34They don't know what that word means.
- 3:37But what I did want to say is, you know, these are difficult
- 3:42times. And if you know somebody that
- 3:44struggles with mental health and mental illness, Mark Sanderson
- 3:48is just showing what up. What up.
- 3:51Check on them. Check on your friends because
- 3:54I'm not doing that great. A lot of people are not doing
- 3:57that great. A lot of people doing worse than
- 3:58me, which you know, I'm super sensitive too, but you know,
- 4:01just check on your friends scooters here.
- 4:04Speaking of friends ghost called real 1 scooter.
- 4:07What? What up brother?
- 4:09Hope you're well. I'm just talking just started
- 4:11the show. Just talking about some mental
- 4:12health. Just check on your friends
- 4:15because people are not OK and there's a lot going on.
- 4:19On to the rest of the announcements.
- 4:21On to the rest of the announcements.
- 4:22So, you know, this was a crazy week in extreme metal where we
- 4:26had a couple of deaths. Niklas from Sacramentum took his
- 4:30own life. Again, mental health, 50 years
- 4:35old. Just very sad.
- 4:36I saw Sacramentum just a few years ago at Maryland Death
- 4:39Fest. They were fucking amazing.
- 4:41And now he's gone. So, you know, again, check on
- 4:45people. Just the just tough.
- 4:50And then I just found out about this.
- 4:52The founder of the extreme German band Bethlehem, Jorgen
- 4:58Bosch, passed away. The news was just broken by our
- 5:01friends over at Lamb Goat and, you know, just very sad.
- 5:07We're losing a lot of heroes right now.
- 5:09Brent Hines last week. We have some more to talk about
- 5:11him later. But yeah, just, you know, just
- 5:16tough. Just tough out there on a
- 5:20positive note celebrating a birthday just recently I
- 5:22mentioned Richie Cavallera search Tankian turned 58 big
- 5:26weekend for system of a down Glenn Hughes celebrated a
- 5:29birthday last week. I think he's 7677 Joe Strummer's
- 5:34birthday would have been last week was like to remember people
- 5:36Mark Badger's here what up Mark thanks for being here and being
- 5:39back Scooter dealing with all the things but you're OK start
- 5:43going to therapy again. I mean, therapy saved my life,
- 5:46Scooter. Like I was doing so bad.
- 5:49I actually can't. Like, I have whole gaps in my
- 5:52memory. Alexis is also here.
- 5:55Hello. I have whole gaps in my memory
- 5:57from last year, you know, and it's from depression.
- 6:03And yeah, man, it's it's just wild.
- 6:13But anyway, yeah, just keep your friends, check them, check on
- 6:17them, keep them close. Dickinson show on Monday was
- 6:20fantastic. He's playing a deep track over
- 6:22power sleeve. I heard about that.
- 6:24My homie on my podcast, Don De Lamont is going to Detroit to
- 6:28see Bruce. We did the very first Bruce
- 6:31North American solo tour last year.
- 6:33So you know, we we're big on the Mandrake project.
- 6:37I had was gifted the magic Mandrake project comic books,
- 6:42now a graphic novel and he's got another album in the works after
- 6:45this and I think maiden is probably going to slow down and
- 6:48Bruce is going to continue to do solo stuff.
- 6:53I I hope everything works out for you too, Scooter.
- 6:55You're the best. Some celebrating some album
- 6:58anniversaries. We'd like to do a little metal
- 7:00history. That's with the deaths,
- 7:02unfortunately, the birthdays skull bashers here, April's
- 7:05here. What up, what up, what up?
- 7:07Celebrating a birthday in the last week?
- 7:09An anniversary album wise. Slipknot, Iowa, The Haunted,
- 7:14Strength in Numbers. I barely remember that record.
- 7:17Alice In Chains. Fantastic.
- 7:18Rainier Fog. Hard to believe that is their
- 7:21last album, 2018. I believe we're getting a new
- 7:23Alice In Chains album in late 26 or early 27.
- 7:29Thanks for liking the live everybody.
- 7:31Rob Zombie's hellbilly deluxe. I'm sure Rob does not regret his
- 7:35decision to end White Zombie and go on solo, but no one actually
- 7:39thinks that Rock Zombie is better as a solo artist than,
- 7:44you know, with White Zombie. But anyway, Hellbilly deluxe,
- 7:47couple of good songs. That's about it.
- 7:50Iron maidens, matter of life and death, not my favorite.
- 7:53Maiden Catatonia. Dead end Kings, great album.
- 7:59Hooded Menace. This fucking record rips.
- 8:01I love this album artwork. Also it would be a great tattoo
- 8:05monstrosity. Last album with Corpse Grinder
- 8:08back in 96. Cataclysm the the poetry of war.
- 8:15I vaguely remember this. Devin Townsend in one of his 8
- 8:19million solo albums. Oh the ratty Pi.
- 8:22Think that was last week. I had that last week.
- 8:25Good shit. Devon Townsend Terraria, which
- 8:30is 80 million solo albums in the 2000s.
- 8:33Ginger Wallflowers. Very underrated.
- 8:35Great record. Hammer Fall had a classic last
- 8:38week celebrating Anniversary and Sephiram.
- 8:40Another one. Machine Heads of Kingdom and
- 8:43Crown. This is their last record, not
- 8:46their current. New record that came out this
- 8:48year of Kingdom and Crown was The Ghost called 2022 album of
- 8:54the year. So, you know, go revisit that.
- 8:58Pretty high on the new one too. But this one was super stellar.
- 9:05I was that old. I'm telling you, Scooter, my
- 9:08time is zipping by Avenged Sevenfold.
- 9:11Wish I could be the one. Awaken the fallen by Avenged
- 9:17Sevenfold. I'm a fan believe it or not,
- 9:19Despite that goof good record by them and then they stopped being
- 9:24screaming metal core and then they became Guns and roses and
- 9:28Metallica black album light kind of interesting.
- 9:31Sodom celebrating anniversary pretty killer Motörhead
- 9:36Motorizer decent record Rotting Christ this Genesis records
- 9:42crazy goes crazy hard portraits got a good album out.
- 9:46I'm hopeful that I remind you of these things and it makes you go
- 9:49and check them out, stream them, watch a music video.
- 9:52The probably the best album by warrant, Doggy Dog not Cherry
- 9:57Pie. Fates Warning with a killer
- 10:01record here. Gamma Ray with a sick record
- 10:069.10. The X record onslaught.
- 10:10In search of sanity. Say that five times fast free
- 10:14house detective what's up? I've become a fan of your
- 10:16channel. Thanks for passing by and yeah,
- 10:20that's that's it for all the music history this week.
- 10:24We'll resume the history lessons later.
- 10:28Just a reminder we are not corporate backed.
- 10:30So if you'd like to drop us a tip, not your real ones, feel
- 10:34free to drop us the tip in the in the chat, especially on
- 10:39Instagram and YouTube. I am exploring Stormland is
- 10:43here. What's up brother?
- 10:45I am exploring doing channel memberships.
- 10:48Maybe I'm going to combine a YouTube memberships with our sub
- 10:51stack at a very low price like 666 or something a dollar to 666
- 10:58and I might do extra. What I will do is an extra live
- 11:02stream a week and that's how I will be able to kind of, you
- 11:07know, bring extra content to you guys on either a Monday or a
- 11:10Tuesday or on the weekend, maybe even even if it's, you know,
- 11:14like a personalized one, like I'm down.
- 11:17So yeah, feel free to drop us a tip.
- 11:20It costs it costs a lot of this beat cause a lot of money to
- 11:24quote Rihanna on Saturday Night Live in the shy Ronnie sketch,
- 11:29like one of my favorites of all time.
- 11:32Yeah, man Machine head tonight. Here's our cash App if you want
- 11:36to, you know, hook us up. We appreciate it.
- 11:40All right, that was all the announcements.
- 11:43Metal history. Let's do some features.
- 11:45And we dropped helped share the music video of Taylor Acorn last
- 11:50week. Taylor is a pop punk artist.
- 11:52She signed a Fearless Records, a great punk label.
- 11:55So if you are missing Avril Lavigne and Green Day and Sum
- 11:5941, she's got a lot of that essence in her stuff.
- 12:02She's got some tour dates we're going to talk about in a bit.
- 12:04But she her new her debut album. I think he should an EP.
- 12:09So this is her full length debut is coming out soon.
- 12:11So check that out. We did a live stream last night
- 12:14talking about the cradle of film drama and I will go into that in
- 12:17more detail in a little while. Not as much detail as last night
- 12:21with the conversation that was happening, but you know, just
- 12:24wild. I try to be as even handed as
- 12:26possible. I do not have any inside
- 12:28knowledge. I do know the music industry
- 12:30very well. We have seen many people depart
- 12:33bands. We shared the meme last week.
- 12:36Dave Mustaine will not be bringing any of the 748 former
- 12:39members of Megadeth on tour with him.
- 12:42And, you know, basically Cradle is Danny.
- 12:45And that's, that's kind of it. But you know, we're going to
- 12:49talk about why this happened and and maybe what the fallout is.
- 12:55We also reviewed Deftones new album private music last week on
- 12:58a live stream. Had some nice people watching.
- 13:00John is here. What's up John of waterfront
- 13:02comics? John.
- 13:03I was just talking about Bruce Dickinson and the the Mandrake
- 13:09problem. Bruce is on tour and he's been
- 13:13talking about he has 18 songs demoed already for the Mandrake
- 13:17project volume to whatever that's going to be.
- 13:19And I assume the treatment has been written for the next series
- 13:22of books for next year. So that's very exciting.
- 13:25Last week we did a live stream. Last night we did a live stream
- 13:28and I talked about Cradle and the Cradle of Phil drama. 9
- 13:31Things is also here. And last week I did a machine
- 13:35head review. It's the most read review with
- 13:37Ghost Cult or written review by mention Brumesso from New York
- 13:41City by way of LA. She has the most read review on
- 13:46our site in a long time. 5000 reads this this last week, so
- 13:51I'm thrilled. Also also this week we dropped
- 13:57some new interviews. I interviewed Core Adams of
- 13:59Arcadia. Arcadia is the synth rock
- 14:02progressive rock side project of Bran of Mastodon.
- 14:07Obviously having a time right now and Core, Adams and Zhao,
- 14:11who is the touring keyboard player of Arcadia, is also on
- 14:16this record. New album out now on Relapse
- 14:18Records. Great artwork by Skinner, who's
- 14:21done a bunch of stuff, shirts and album covers for Mastodon.
- 14:25Cool stuff. Core is a brilliant sweetheart,
- 14:27humble of a humble multidisciplinary creator.
- 14:31So it was really cool to talk to him.
- 14:33My partner Omar Cordy interviewed Kenny Hickey, you
- 14:36know Kenny best from type of negative.
- 14:39He has been a member of his own band, Silver Tomb.
- 14:42He is also played all kinds of shit and he has a new super
- 14:49group, as you know, used to be called I Am and is now called
- 14:52Sun Don't Shine. And that group includes Kirk
- 14:55Weinstein of down, Todd Strange, formerly of down and Crowbar,
- 15:01and Johnny Kelly, of course, from Type O Negative.
- 15:04So really fun interview. New EP is out now.
- 15:07Southeast of Heaven is showed up.
- 15:09What's up, Don? I was just talking about your
- 15:11your boy Bruce Dickinson in the Mandarin project.
- 15:13Somebody is reported here on TikTok higher up in the comments
- 15:17that the the show was fantastic, that Arcadia is great.
- 15:20Man, I'm a big nerd. I don't know if you can tell how
- 15:24pretentious and nerdy I am. Rock, metal net is here.
- 15:27What's up my brethren? I don't know if you can tell how
- 15:30nerdy I am, but I love a lot of progressive rock and weird
- 15:33synthesizer stuff. And I have a Korg mini Moog mod,
- 15:38sort of a, you know, a thing that you get.
- 15:40I can't afford a move, so I got a Korg.
- 15:43You know, it's one of those things.
- 15:44So that was a tool of mine in the past.
- 15:46But check out our interview with Kenny does mention type some
- 15:49type of stuff in there and some silver tomb.
- 15:52New Silver tomb coming soon. Some don't shine.
- 15:54Full album coming probably in 202726.
- 15:58A whole couple more singles have yet to drop.
- 16:01Pretty great stuff out there by our friends.
- 16:04Of course, Paint records, great guys, great people.
- 16:08Andrew, I bumped into him at Danzig in Vegas.
- 16:10That was amazing. Danzig and down nerd unite.
- 16:13That's right, dyslexics untie. Just for a reminder, check out
- 16:18my if you love hardcore punk, check out my interview with
- 16:20Steven Blush, the author of American Hardcore, also the
- 16:24American hardcore documentary. I had the pleasure of meeting
- 16:27Steve and hearing him speak in person, but then I got to
- 16:30interview him about the 4th edition of the book, 4 editions
- 16:33in 20, you know, like 15 years. And it was, it was really an
- 16:39honor. He's like one of the reasons
- 16:41that I started doing journalism and and not ban stuff so much
- 16:45because I was really, you know, like Steve's methodology of the
- 16:49way that he talks about the history of punk was really
- 16:51important to me and really great.
- 16:55Also also my partner Omar also interviewed Angelo Moore, 5th
- 16:59Bone new album, Stockholm Syndrome out now.
- 17:02Angelo directly addressed the changes in that band and the
- 17:05lineup changes that needed to happen.
- 17:07I believe the other Fishbone guys have a new band.
- 17:09I'll be talking about that next week.
- 17:13Just a reminder, thank you to everybody that entered the Acid
- 17:17Bath ticket giveaway for the show tonight in LA Shout out to
- 17:21Jimmy from the LA area who won those tickets.

- 19:31Dylan here is here. What's up, Stormland?
- 19:34OK, so besides Halford and Kirk Winstein, who are the uncles

- 19:40to? Boy, Uncle Steve Austin of Today
- 19:43is the Day. He's like your crazy uncle, but
- 19:46he's also got the good weed and he makes incredible music.
- 19:49I think Tad, right? My man from Tad is also kind of
- 19:57like everybody's uncle. Blow Thor.
- 20:01I wish Blow Thor was actually my dad, but he certainly be an
- 20:04entertaining uncle. Uncle Zentro out.
- 20:06Exactly. Zetro could have been the Uncle
- 20:10Dylan. Just here.
- 20:12Radke versus Fantano. Fantano takes the West.
- 20:14We're going to talk about it in the news.
- 20:15My my brother Stormline. Pretty hard take on an L against
- 20:20Raggy. Yeah.
- 20:20Man, fuck that guy. Fuck Ronnie Radke.
- 20:25When are the local dates? Which one John, shout out to Don
- 20:32you manufacture. I feel like I feel like Nick and
- 20:36Don do not like Fear Factory. That kind of breaks my heart.
- 20:38You need that Star Wars album. I'm telling you, I I I remember
- 20:42having it as a kid. I don't have it anymore.
- 20:44The first 3 vinyls I ever got was Kiss Rock'n'roll over on my
- 20:485th birthday. Was already out a little while
- 20:50and then I got the Superman original soundtrack.
- 20:55I think it's a Alexander Salkind.
- 20:57And then I I had the Star Wars story of Star Wars vinyl and
- 21:01beside Uncle, Oh, sorry, Uncle Scott, Ian, that's a good one.
- 21:06Not Uncle Billy Milano. Uncle Billy Milano would be the
- 21:10guy you never talked to again, like my brother.
- 21:13All right, that was all the features.
- 21:16Let's hit the news rundown. And of course we start the news
- 21:20rundown every week with metal festivals.
- 21:23So let's Uncle Max Cavallera. That's I wish Max was my dad.
- 21:27I told that to Richie offline by the way, in that interview with
- 21:29Richie Cavallera. I was like, I wish Richie was my
- 21:31dad, but he is kind of like a great uncle.
- 21:34So let's do the metal festivals. This weekend kicked off the day
- 21:37the biggest festival in RPM fest history, Conan ghoul and through
- 21:43the eyes of the dead headlining. They started today with the pre
- 21:46party. Royal Thunder, Atomic Bitch

- 22:01Call interviewees. Sundori Baracho gonna get out to
- 22:05Western Mass. We've covered it.
- 22:07My stream's a little choppy. I'm having some Wi-Fi problems.
- 22:10I'm not thrilled. Let me.
- 22:13I don't know. It seems like I got the full
- 22:14power now let's see maybe it's the microphone Yep the right
- 22:21microphone got the right camera. I don't know sorry everybody.

- 22:44definitely good goblet is in there.
- 22:46I've seen them live quite a bunch of good bands, man.
- 22:49Quite a quite a bunch. So hideous.
- 22:52Oh, I love them. They should kind of maybe be
- 22:53higher up on the bill maybe. Melissa says I'm good here.
- 23:00Thanks, baby. You're good too.

- 23:37Beetman, Schizophonics, and so many more coughing cats are on
- 23:41there. Holy shit, just good shit man.
- 23:45Bring your own beer. It's kind of kid friendly.
- 23:47There's a lot of vendors I'm always trying to Rep and support
- 23:51them. After they supported us a few
- 23:52times, the next few things we're covering include Punk in the
- 23:56Park in LA and San Pedro in the LA area in October.
- 24:02They had religion, Pennywise Descendants and Interrupters
- 24:05Face to Face, Buck, Screeching Weasel, The Attic, Stiff Little
- 24:08Fingers, St. Dogs, Comeback Kids, the Bronx
- 24:11Casualties, the Bomb Squad Again, TSOL, Adolescence, Agent
- 24:18Orange, Manic Hispanic Teenage, Bottle Rocket, Gutter Mouth,
- 24:211234, Slam Authority, 0 Bomb Pops, Dwarves and the Queers
- 24:27Ignite, and many others. Many, many others.
- 24:33Also coming up next for Ghost Cult, Louder than Life.
- 24:36This is confirmed. Our homie Jim Shepherd's going
- 24:39to get down there and covered. Sometimes he pops into these
- 24:41shows, doesn't seem like he's on right now.
- 24:44Death By Stereo is also absolutely fucking sick.
- 24:46Scooter and great people. I got to meet them once.
- 24:50We never actually formally covered them, but they've been
- 24:52at festivals we've been at. Louder Than Life updated their
- 24:54set times and this lineup is stacked.
- 24:57Slayer who didn't get to play last year because of a
- 24:59hurricane. Avenged Sevenfold, Death, Tones
- 25:03and Bring me the Horizon and Evanescence and Down at Lamb of
- 25:06God and many more from Zombie Sleep, Token, Bad Omens, Suicide
- 25:12Boys, Trivium. We'll be playing some new music
- 25:15stories so far. Cypress Hill, Dillinger Escape
- 25:17Plan for you, Dillinger Compound Hawks band is here, another past
- 25:22interviewee. Good shit.
- 25:25I'm hoping to attend Aftershocks about the same weekends.
- 25:28Punk in the park. So if you want punk, you can go
- 25:30to San Pedro. If you want mostly metal and
- 25:33rock, you can go to Sacramento. I know the the Thursday at
- 25:37Aftershock is mostly punk. I'll be doing some interview.
- 25:41Yep, three more shows to go. Hopefully there'll be more
- 25:45Blank, Deftones, Corn and Again Bring Me the Rising, Good
- 25:49Charlotte, Perfect Circle, Bad Omens, Rob Zombie, Acid Bath,
- 25:53Dream Theater. Weird to see Dream Theater at
- 25:55kind of a butt rock festival, but there they are.
- 25:57Power Wolf, who never plays American festivals so far.
- 26:01Flyleaf, Acid Bath, Power Trip, all the good shit.
- 26:06I'm looking forward to this tremendously Alkaline Trio.
- 26:09Dillinger not Loose, Deval. New album by Chevelle's real
- 26:14good, motionless and white punk rock.
- 26:16Christmas is coming up in Arizona.
- 26:18TBD if we'll be covering this, but we might be MXPX.
- 26:21Very underrated historically their Christmas live streams
- 26:25were favored of mine during the Pandemi Lovato and face to face
- 26:29the vandals. Hopefully with Josh Freeze.
- 26:31We had some Josh Freeze stuff to talk about Authority 0, Voodoo
- 26:34Glow Skulls and more More news public on sales are live now for
- 26:4170 tons of metal. We told you recently they added
- 26:43Anthrax as one of the major bands on the cruise.
- 26:45They I don't believe they've ever done the cruise.
- 26:48They are going to do 2 sets on the cruise and Icegram formally
- 26:52disbanded back to do a 30th anniversary celebrated Tory
- 26:57setlist on the cruise at least twice.
- 26:59So very fucking cool. Blades of Steel Metal fest is
- 27:03this weekend starting tonight in Wisconsin.
- 27:06War Bringer, Satan, Incantation, Entre Fire, and a bunch of other
- 27:13bands. Very fucking cool.
- 27:18I just needed an excuse to say Satan at the top of my lungs.
- 27:23Just a reminder, Deftones, when they're done doing this run of
- 27:27dates, they have the De Los Deftones in San Diego later this
- 27:32fall. Tickets are on sale now.
- 27:33The 6th annual at Petco Park. Somehow Petco is still the
- 27:38sponsor of that stadium. Destiny G is here, Vampire is
- 27:42here. What up, what up, what up?
- 27:44Thank you for stopping by. Much appreciated.
- 27:46Levitation Festival is coming up.
- 27:49Mastonon acid bath, the sword. I saw the sword last night.
- 27:52They were so fucking good. I know they only have a couple
- 27:55of dates left. I hope they're going to do
- 27:57another leg either later in the year or early next year to
- 28:00celebrate. Warp Riders 15th anniversary
- 28:03band came back on tour, just did festivals and a cover.
- 28:07But I believe they're going to record new music for a hopeful
- 28:09new album. It was such a great show.
- 28:12It was a little hot up in there and check my Instagram post real
- 28:17about that. But what a magical evening and I
- 28:20want to shout out my boy Jorge from my band Angst and for
- 28:24taking me and just a great time seeing my buddy and having a
- 28:29great time. The sword is so good.
- 28:31They covered David Bowie unfucking real Furnace Fest.
- 28:35This is a kind of a bummer. Furnace Fest has announced that
- 28:37they have lowered their prices because they're just not where
- 28:40they want to be. Jeff fucking Wood is here.
- 28:42What's up, Jeff? We've, we've had you here
- 28:44before. You know, this is a reality of
- 28:47everything. It's just hard to make that
- 28:49dough. There's everything competing for
- 28:51your dollars. It's in Alabama, but I mean,
- 28:54it's 25th anniversary. The fest.
- 28:57I still see that FF for Furnace Fest and I see Fear Factory.
- 29:00I'm sorry, but super cool, super cool to you know that they still
- 29:07have this festival. I don't know if they're going to
- 29:08be able to continue the way it's going to Great lineup.
- 29:11We'll talk more about it as we get closer.
- 29:14But yeah, these Sykes sounds announced their London festival
- 29:19and their splits for London October 31st and November 1st.
- 29:24Dope Lord Beatles, Bong weed pecker, which throat?
- 29:28How many bands have which in the name?
- 29:30Serpent, Jiobia, Fuzz, Papali, Grant, Bjork Trio as the major
- 29:36headliner of the whole festival, Mephistopheles, 1782 tons,
- 29:42Anandamita, Komatsu, Death Worm, and maybe some more but a killer
- 29:48posted We love heavy psych sounds the label and we love
- 29:51heavy psych sounds the festivals.
- 29:55Thank you for showing up Ox. Appreciate you.
- 29:58Lollapalooza is going to do 2 Lollapalooza's in South America
- 30:02in early next year and Deftones will be one of the few rock
- 30:06bands there. I see the I saw the
- 30:10Lollapalooza, I saw corn. No one was interested in corn.
- 30:14Deftones I think are a little more popular than corn.
- 30:16Turnstile is also a headliner. That's their first real festival
- 30:19headliner in South America. That's huge.
- 30:22Skrillex though ecchi is terrible.
- 30:25Louis Capaldi is just mad. Chapel Run is fun but I don't
- 30:29know that she can do a whole headline set at a festival title
- 30:32of the creator Shore. Sabrina Carpenter not bad, good
- 30:36singer. Interpol Lola Young Cypress Hill
- 30:41Royal Otis is a new record coming out, not too bad.
- 30:43Viagra boys love them. I would almost let them headline
- 30:47and not a lot else that I recognize here at all.
- 30:49So OK, Stormland says kind of disappointing with that poster,
- 30:53right? They didn't look lopan exactly
- 30:56right. Like so on the nose.
- 30:59So on the nose. All right, that's all the
- 31:00festivals that took a lot. That was a lot of them.
- 31:02Now the tours and there's a lot of these too.
- 31:05I'll try to blast through it a little quicker.
- 31:07Concert tours again, we are proud to support this will ruin
- 31:10the tour. We're giving away tickets.
- 31:11Please enter right now at the link in the description or pin
- 31:14post on our website at ghostcoltmag.com.
- 31:17Kicking off September 4th in Fort Worth, TX, Say that five
- 31:21times fast and ending September 28th in Washington, DC.
- 31:25I am hoping to go in Oakland and I believe we'll be covering the
- 31:29tour somewhere. So yeah, good times. 9 Inch
- 31:34Nails peeled back towards going a little bit longer.
- 31:37I've been reading a lot of stuff online.
- 31:38I had a magical time there and I'm still hoping we're going to
- 31:41get to cover it in New York. But you know, I've read some
- 31:46people who said they preferred when 9 Inch Nails played in
- 31:50tinier places. Mark's metal minute passed by.
- 31:52What's up Mark? Great to see you.
- 31:55Then maybe 9 Inch Channels was a better was a better experience
- 31:58when it was more intimate and smaller.
- 32:00But again, there are elements of this 9 Inch Nails show that felt
- 32:04intimate, like France starting the show on he like a solo piano
- 32:10thing for like 5 to 6 minutes and then slowly, gradually
- 32:14building up to the full band. Rocking out I thought was
- 32:16wonderful. But I get what that like.
- 32:19They prefer 9 Inch Nails in the club.
- 32:20So they prefer 9 Inch Nails in a dinner theater.
- 32:22They prefer 9 inch Nails in an amphitheater.
- 32:26But or smaller. But yeah, I don't know.
- 32:30It was haunting. And then, you know, I like the
- 32:32whole pacing of everything. It seemed like the greatest hits
- 32:35kind of thing. It was wonderful.
- 32:38System of a Down kicked off the biggest show in their career in
- 32:40America. Last night they kicked off their
- 32:43mini tour of stadiums Corn Open. They have two shows in every
- 32:47city, System in Corn, Polyphia and Wisp at every show.
- 32:52Followed by Avenged Sevenfold in Chicago this weekend with System
- 32:56as well as Deftones in Toronto. Be nice if System plays more
- 33:01touring in the USI don't know that they can do a stadium
- 33:04everywhere, but this is what they're This is the trial run.
- 33:08It's been a wild year where like Green Day, System of a Down and
- 33:12My Chemical Romance are playing baseball stadiums and football
- 33:15stadiums, but here's hoping there's more of it.
- 33:18We were bummed out we didn't get to cover this this event tour
- 33:22thing, but hopefully next time we we're appreciative.
- 33:26That Photo by the way, which is amazing is by our own Kim
- 33:29Hansen. Slayer confirmed again that they
- 33:31are doing this big one day Slayer fest in Hershey Park
- 33:35Stadium. Slayer knocked loose, Suicidal
- 33:37Tendencies, Power Trip, Cavalier doing all of KSAD and Exodus
- 33:43also doing a big celebratory Bonded by Blood full set.
- 33:48That is fucking killer. Yeah, we would like to cover
- 33:53that also. We'll see what happens.
- 33:54Bad Omens announced a European UK tour for next winter.
- 33:59New Bad Omens is probably around the corner.
- 34:02Should be coming soon. Just a reminder about this
- 34:05again, this again, If you're from the New York City or
- 34:08tri-state area, you knew Fast Lane Studios that show out Dukes
- 34:11in, right? You knew Fast Lane Studios in
- 34:13Brooklyn is where Type O Negative rehearsed and recorded.
- 34:16It's where Life of Agony made records, a bunch of any other
- 34:19New York City rock biohazard, any New York City band did this.
- 34:25And so with the help of New York City Council people, including
- 34:28Justin Brannon, who used to be an indecision in Most Precious
- 34:31Blood, there will be a Mike Ferris Lane unveiling in
- 34:33mid-september. Perhaps we'll get someone down
- 34:36there to cover it. Gay plan.
- 34:38Seriously thinking about doing that?
- 34:40An 11 hour drive to Philly for Slayer.
- 34:42I'm telling you. Yeah, I'm telling you, you could
- 34:47do, like one day at Louder Than Life.
- 34:49It's probably the same amount of money for Kentucky.
- 34:51It's probably closer for, you know, trans-siberian orchestra
- 34:54finally announced their winter tour dates for The Ghost of
- 34:56Christmas Eve, The Best of TSO and more.
- 34:59They're also going to do a album reissue, which they're also
- 35:02going to celebrate on tour. Beethoven's Last Night.
- 35:05Very ominous, but beautiful. I believe Al Petrelli is coming
- 35:09on this tour. He's been a member of Trans
- 35:11Siberian Tours and he's doing I think the entire tour this year.
- 35:15So that should be kind of sick. A lot of sabotage cross
- 35:18referencing. Hopefully we'll get to interview
- 35:20the band. I just did interview Chris Can
- 35:21for you a few weeks ago. Dark Angel.
- 35:24Just a reminder, this album is around the corner.
- 35:26This tour is kicking off next weekend in San Diego.
- 35:29I am super hyped for this Extinction Level event album and
- 35:33tour. Please stay tuned for my
- 35:35interview coming up with Gene Hoagland, Deftones and SOD next
- 35:39week in Toronto at the God awful Roger Stadium.
- 35:43Oh God yeah. Apparently still waiting for
- 35:48some announcement from Nico Mcbrain's Titanium Tart, but
- 35:52apparently December 66 sixth is going to be his next show for he
- 35:57did a mini tour this summer. Pantera Tour continues to tour.
- 36:03It should be fun. Pantera Monomoris finishing out
- 36:10the string. Let's see.
- 36:14Youth Code King, Yosef St. Sex and Insula Iscariat is
- 36:17underway now. I might try to catch this tour
- 36:20in the next week and 1/2 in San Francisco.
- 36:22We shall see. This blew my brain up a little
- 36:25bit. This got announced last night.
- 36:27God forbid playing all of Constitution of Treason.
- 36:31Darkest Hour playing, you know, their 30th anniversary set,
- 36:36Bleeding Through playing a 20th anniversary set and the very
- 36:41underrated Nora opening Jesus Christ on a bike.
- 36:44What a show, what a show that's going to be.
- 36:49There's a three shows, Silver Springs, Maryland, Hampton Beach
- 36:53and New Jersey. So God Forbid also has a show
- 36:56coming up with Life of Agony in New Jersey in September.
- 36:59So they spaced them out. Mentioned last week Coven is
- 37:02kicking off a tour next weekend in South America where they will
- 37:06be recording a live album on tour.
- 37:09New Coven music coming hopefully in 2026 or 7.
- 37:13Jinx Dawson's memoir coming eventually again.
- 37:18We gave away tickets to acid bath show tonight.
- 37:21Acid Bath, Mastodon, Powered for Amigo, the Devil, Sterling Green
- 37:25and Suplex in Lakefront Arena in New Orleans in November.
- 37:31That is their next big show beside the festival's pretty
- 37:35fucking killer. What else?
- 37:39What else? What else?
- 37:55What else? I just had like a little brain
- 37:57fart here for a second. Let's see.
- 38:01All right. Paul Bearer is playing this
- 38:05weekend tomorrow in Little Rock. It's a benefit for Nate
- 38:08Garrett's wife and Nate and his wife Nicole, who is battling
- 38:11stomach cancer. They will be in Seattle next
- 38:13weekend to play the Substation 10th anniversary show with Witch
- 38:19Ripper, whose shirt I believe I have.
- 38:21Author and Punisher announced a new record.
- 38:23We were telling you they were teasing out music for a while
- 38:26and we're pretty excited about that.
- 38:28They have now announced a European Tour as well as 2
- 38:33record release shows in Los Angeles and San Diego.
- 38:36They have a new member finally was a solo project and now is
- 38:41he's added a guitar player. Tristan Stone.
- 38:43So very excited about this new author and Punisher stuff.
- 38:48Reminder about Fear Factory. We got asked at the top of the
- 38:51show on TikTok about Fear Factory and Cavallera.
- 38:54Now that the summer tour is over we can help promote this a
- 38:57little bit more. F Malcon is here.
- 38:59Scotty boy raining father. Take care bud, keep doing.
- 39:04Yeah, thank you, bro. Scooter, message me anytime.
- 39:06Anytime you want to message me, DM me bro.
- 39:09I got you. I'm here for you again.
- 39:12Cavalier and Fear Factory flip flopping on those shows.
- 39:14That looks fucking great. Ice 9 Kills has announced their
- 39:23Silver Scream Con is coming to the UK and then they're going to
- 39:26do like a little mini winter tour a couple of dates around
- 39:30this. So Einstein, Kills, Creeper and
- 39:33The Devil Wears Prada are going to do the work of Art UK tour as
- 39:37well as their convention. That is kind of cool.
- 39:39Where are all the people you're talking to?
- 39:40I want to be with the crowd. Well, I don't know.
- 39:43I'm talking to you, buddy. I'm just glad I'm not looking at
- 39:47you with no beard. Is that the old Fear Factory
- 39:50logo? It is, isn't it?
- 39:51Let's go back for one second. It is the old Fear Factory logo.
- 39:54Kind of kind of interesting. I know Christian old Wahlberg's
- 39:57is like doing a new metal project supergroup thing and the
- 40:02name is like German for Fear Factory.
- 40:07Not necessary. We'll talk more about it next
- 40:12week when I have more details. But.
- 40:15Nice 9 kills. Spirit Factory here in the band
- 40:18we reviewed a while back. This is a Portuguese doom metal
- 40:22band Rosie Finch. They are playing their first
- 40:25show in a while in Portugal and Serpienti Orion is opening for
- 40:30them. So this is like a really great
- 40:32show. I love this artwork with this
- 40:33ankh and these two hand crying or bleeding hands like stigmata
- 40:37but eyeballs. Fucking cool.
- 40:40Phantom Cadaver is here. Stormland, I'm going to jet.
- 40:45But it was good to say stay well, keep you.
- 40:47It was good to hang, bro. I miss you and let's catch up
- 40:49soon. I'm very thankful for you in my
- 40:51life as well. Cream Boyd is announced a show
- 40:55at the Echoplex next weekend. So that's kind of cool.
- 41:00Again, here's Taylor Acorn. We premiered her single and her
- 41:03video and this is her tour dates kicking off soon.
- 41:06You know this later this fall in Boston, this is the big one for
- 41:11the week for your progressive death metal people NE Obescaris
- 41:15performing both EXO and Citadel in full and Rivers of Nile Per
- 41:19doing their self-titled brand new album in full.
- 41:22That is fucking cool. You don't see a lot of bands
- 41:24doing that. I know kind of the full album
- 41:26play is, you know, maybe Passe, but yeah, just crazy shit.
- 41:33Dia Lude announced the US tour. That's kind of cool.
- 41:36They're playing at 924 Gilman. I would like to go, but then I
- 41:39will not have no teeth left. I don't know.
- 41:41This looks killer. Sadistic Force who has a new EP
- 41:44out, and Grave Ripper. The Morbid Tundra tour is
- 41:48kicking off later this year. I am going to interview coming
- 41:52up with Sadistic Force, hopefully soon.
- 41:56Goblin again just a reminder, performing the iconic scores
- 41:59live to the special screenings of Superior Suspiria in Canada
- 42:03and Deep Red in the US. I've seen this before.
- 42:07Both of these incredible and very excited.
- 42:10Only not doing really that big of a tour but very excited about
- 42:15the tour. Better to think as a a big tour
- 42:19coming up. I remember them from the 90s.
- 42:21Killer killer alternative rock punk band.
- 42:24Boston, Washington, New York. It's not that many cities but
- 42:27definitely get out and support them.
- 42:29I believe they have new music coming out.
- 42:30Valley of the Sun and Fuzz Evil for some Stoner doom that's
- 42:33kicking off late in September. Black Eyed Sons is doing a big
- 42:38run of four dates in England. Very cool.
- 42:43Better lovers upcoming I heard. I've seen rumblings so I'm
- 42:47excited. I want the Black Queen
- 42:50Dillinger, I need the Black Queen new album if there is one
- 42:53ever, please come back. Memphis Made Fire announced a
- 42:56big tour with Rain City Drive, Never Tell and if not for me
- 43:00never tells. Got a new record about to drop
- 43:02and Rain City Drive as a new single out again by popular
- 43:06demand Jason Bonham's JJBLZ. Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin
- 43:11Evening or Experience has been added more dates by popular
- 43:15demand so go see him if you want the closest thing to a Led
- 43:20Zeppelin show. Death Angel again has the ACT 3
- 43:24tour coming up followed by the Death Angel Christmas shows here
- 43:27in San Francisco at Great American Music Hall.
- 43:30And then if you, just out of curiosity, Kneecap has canceled
- 43:34their entire North American tour because they are afraid of
- 43:38getting arrested because they don't feel safe coming to the
- 43:41States after they were threatened with arrest.
- 43:45You know, we shared this news on our socials.
- 43:48It's very similar to Bob Dylan. Like why did they get their
- 43:52visas pulled? Free speech is free and it's not
- 43:56conditional in America. Other places maybe so, I don't
- 44:00know, just a thought. Just a reminder again, if you
- 44:03want to tip us something that would be cool.
- 44:06I appreciate it. We work very hard on all this
- 44:08stuff, A mostly volunteer staff. Every dollar we make from a
- 44:12little bit of advertising we have goes back into the company
- 44:15and you know, attention is really the only thing you can
- 44:19do. So if you're new here and you
- 44:20like what you're seeing, give us a like or a follow.
- 44:22Subscribe to us here on TikTok, subscribe wherever you're at on
- 44:26Facebook, YouTube, Twitch or Instagram.
- 44:30We're on Blue sky, we're on threads.
- 44:31They don't have streaming for video yet.
- 44:34Feel free to support us. We appreciate it.
- 44:36And now the rest of the news. Oh, just for a second to talk
- 44:39about our affiliate partners. I will put myself back on
- 44:44screen. Fabled beard company.
- 44:46Man. This has been a game changer for
- 44:48me. All natural products, decently
- 44:51priced, great scents and smells for the most part.
- 44:55I got the beard wash, I've got the little perfume spray, the
- 44:58Cologne spray, and this deodorant has changed my whole
- 45:02game. Now.
- 45:02I went to the Sword last night and I was fucking sweating.
- 45:06There was no AC on. It's been pretty.
- 45:08It's cool here in San Francisco, but with all that body heat of
- 45:10the sold out show, it was broiling.
- 45:12I was sitting in the balcony and I was wearing my battle vest.
- 45:17I had a hoodie on. I had this hat on because it was
- 45:19chilly when I got out of the house to go to the show and my
- 45:22whole body was drenched. But you know what wasn't
- 45:25drenched? My pits.
- 45:26You know why? Fable Beard, if you hit the link
- 45:29in our description, you get a discount, $10 off your first
- 45:33order. We get credits toward free
- 45:36stuff. So that's pretty cool.
- 45:38I don't we don't promote or Rep anything.
- 45:41Then we don't use ourselves. I'm really proud about that.
- 45:44It's a it's a big deal to me. Also, as you know, we are
- 45:48members of the Lamb Gov Media Network.
- 45:50Lamb go under fire from, you know, fucking Ronnie Radke.
- 45:55And you know, Wyatt's medal did a whole thing on Lamb Goat.
- 46:00I wasn't too. It was OK.
- 46:02Like I I respect him. He's actually a pretty good
- 46:05personality. But I don't know why people are
- 46:08calling out journalism. You know, it doesn't make a lot
- 46:11of sense to be, you know, calling out music sites like
- 46:18they were not perfect, but you know, just doesn't make a lot of
- 46:22sense. Doesn't make a lot of sense to
- 46:25be honest, but anyway, Ram go and again, stream yard is how we
- 46:30stream on everywhere. Hey, Joey Marquez, welcome back.
- 46:33And Kayla Radcliffe to you know, stream yard is how we do what we
- 46:37do when we do. And yeah, Scooter, I'm sorry to
- 46:43hear that's not coming to your way.
- 46:45But anyway, and Faustian is here.
- 46:47What's up, Faustian? But yeah, stream yard.
- 46:50If you want to stream like we do, feel free to hit the link in
- 46:53the description and sign up and we're on all the social things
- 46:59again. We're on twitch right now.
- 47:01I'm on all the socials. I don't know if you're sick of
- 47:03social media. We also are have a discord.
- 47:05We are also on Reddit. You can find our post there.
- 47:09I love this cracker Barrel for Dimebag Darrell.
- 47:12I kind of love this. If you're upset about Cracker
- 47:14Barrel or any corporate company changing their logo and that's
- 47:18more upsetting to you, then I don't know anything else going
- 47:21on in the world that's fucking on fire and terrible right now.
- 47:24Get your fucking priorities together.
- 47:27What a fucking disaster. What a disaster.
- 47:35But anyway, all right, and now it's time for the rest of the
- 47:40news again. We're still reeling from the
- 47:50death of Brent Hines of Mastonon.
- 47:53What a heartbreaker, right? So Hard Mastodon played in
- 47:57Alaska for the first time last weekend, right after Brent had
- 48:00died. And at the end of the show, they
- 48:02played the entire show. And at the end of the show, Ron
- 48:04came out and stood in front of the crowd and got choked up
- 48:08talking about his friend. And they were brothers, and they
- 48:13made all this unforgettable music and like, maybe Cracker
- 48:17Barrel is a shirt, right? Dude I agree, but really, if
- 48:21you're upset about Cracker Barrel changing their logo,
- 48:24changing the store, and getting rid of the country store, that's
- 48:27fucking weird. But like, who gives a fuck about
- 48:29the logo? You guys are nothing to be mad
- 48:32about. Like mad about imaginary shit,
- 48:35Not mad about little kids getting gunned down while
- 48:38praying in Catholic school. Apparently not.
- 48:41Not mad enough about the guns. But anyway.
- 48:44In addition to Mastodon making a speech at their own show about
- 48:49Brett Hines, Bill Kelly here posted he rarely posts to social
- 48:54media when it's not like his Star Wars collection of toys,
- 48:57and he said it's been hard to focus.
- 48:58I'm choked up. I miss this guy.
- 49:00I think eventually we would have fixed the beef and reunited.
- 49:04So that's very sad. Very, very sad.
- 49:11Cradle Of Filth. Cradle of what the fuck?
- 49:13I mean, I did a whole live stream on this last night, but
- 49:16this has been ugly. And I'll just synopsize Brent
- 49:21and Mast and I will never reconcile.
- 49:23I know it sucks. They're never going to get to
- 49:25Cradle, man. So this has happened before.
- 49:27Any band that's been around 34 years, like Cradle of Phil,
- 49:31you're going to lose members, you're going to have people
- 49:33quit. And I try to explain to people,
- 49:36a lot of people who have bands follow Ghost Cult because we
- 49:39write about bands and so people pitch me all the time their
- 49:42music and this, that and the other.
- 49:44So really quick, you know, if you're not in the like every
- 49:51band, think of every band like a small business.
- 49:53If you're not in the band proper, you're an employee,
- 49:57you're a contractor, you don't have a stake, a financial stake
- 50:01as well as an ownership stake. So you just get less of the
- 50:04money. Actually, you get paid more
- 50:06money regularly than the than the leader of the band.
- 50:11You know, they get payouts from royalties, they get payouts from
- 50:14Merce, they get payouts at the end of the tour.
- 50:17You're getting paid every day, every week.
- 50:19In some cases your cards are getting topped up, whatever, you
- 50:22know, your, your apps, whatever is happening.
- 50:26But this has happened from time to time.
- 50:29There's been some very public spats with Danny and the band
- 50:33over the way the band is run. And Cradle Field is managed by
- 50:36Desfara and his wife on stage. And now I'm going to say again,
- 50:39I only know them from dealing with them and they've been
- 50:42nothing but nice and professional to me.
- 50:45And two goes cult. I've met and interviewed Des
- 50:47multiple times. I met him way back in the day in
- 50:49the Coal Chamber days when they when they toured with Seven
- 50:53Dust. And you know, I know that
- 50:57they're tough, but fair. I said this last night quite a
- 51:00few times. They managed Cradle Of Filth,
- 51:03they managed Dez's bands, they managed Black Satellite, one of
- 51:05the biggest up and coming rock bands right now.
- 51:09And Angel is here, Kelly Jeffries, nice to see everybody
- 51:15tuning in. I appreciate you.
- 51:16So we're talking about rock and metal news, and we're talking
- 51:19about this Cradle story. And I'm not going to go super
- 51:20deep because I did that already. And you can listen to that
- 51:22podcast or you can listen to that show on our channel under
- 51:27live streams on our YouTube. But it's wild.
- 51:32I've never seen people quit a band and then throw the band and
- 51:35the management under the bus so publicly before.
- 51:37Maybe a few times. Mötley Crüe comes to mind.
- 51:42Jason Newstead and Metallica, we're filming a movie and that
- 51:46came out with some kind of monster Mustang because he can't
- 51:49stop talking about them. But like this is some why it's
- 51:52wild to me. Like even if Zoe had was never a
- 51:56full member or even had a contract and she was kind of
- 51:59like a handshake deal kind of person, which he should not do.
- 52:02Merrick has been in Cradle Of Filth for like 10-11 years and I
- 52:07shock and you know, he absolutely might have violated
- 52:11an NDA by dogging the band and their management.
- 52:13I'm sure there's clauses about this.
- 52:15So they may be in a very litigious and actionable
- 52:19position that is not going to be good for them.
- 52:21But anyway, check out my live stream for more.
- 52:24We'll continue to follow these follies.
- 52:25Meanwhile, Little Filters on Torrance, South America and
- 52:29Zoe's replacement Kelsey Peters has already done a few shows.
- 52:32They said they were going to fly in a new guitar player at some
- 52:35point. I know Kelsey, I met her a few
- 52:37times when I lived in Brooklyn. We have mutual friends, former
- 52:41ghost cultists are friends with our very talented former, you
- 52:45know, Hopper trained singer. She'll fit right in.
- 52:49Also, the band drama this week from Jesus Piece.
- 52:52Jesus piece said they were breaking up because the singer
- 52:56didn't want to reconcile with the band.
- 52:57And then the singer hinted that he was going to launch his own
- 53:01band. Jesus, dollar sign Jesus, JE
- 53:05dollar sign US piece and get a new record deal and basically
- 53:09have hired guns. And then the band was like taken
- 53:13aback by this. Aaron made a statement, a brief
- 53:16statement publicly in his social media, and then the band clapped
- 53:20back. Good fucking God.
- 53:23Let me read this shit to you all, because this is quite a
- 53:27like I don't have time to do the whole cradle of Phil Phil thing,
- 53:30but this is some crazy shit. So John, just a just Stefano
- 53:35from Jesus Peace Heard, issued a statement claiming the band
- 53:41repeatedly tried to kick him out, even citing an insistence
- 53:44when they allegedly attempted to remove him because he wanted to
- 53:46spend Halloween with his son. That statement was quickly
- 53:50refuted by Lew Aponte, who's the drummer who said the band has
- 53:54never tried to push him out. Now, John Destefano jumped on
- 53:58social media and responded to Aaron's thing.
- 54:01So here's some drama Testaments. Dillinger predicts Testament's
- 54:06new album will be Tom 3 on Every Medalist.
- 54:08I'm telling you, just off that first song, holy fuck Def.
- 54:14Tone's going to be high up for me, though, I got to be honest.
- 54:16And a few others. Meza.
- 54:20Here's the statement from John Distefano.
- 54:21Thank you, Lamb Goat, for putting up this stuff.
- 54:23Aaron Heard at Aaron Heard. It's sad that you got no love
- 54:26for me anymore despite 10 years of JP and a couple years of HTP
- 54:30together. Can you remind me about the time
- 54:32we tried to replace you when you got held at the border and I
- 54:35drove back 3 hours to get you at 4:00 AM on no sleep?
- 54:39And I guess none of us have any family or loved ones we
- 54:42sacrifice from being on tour either.
- 54:44I just have a dog. I know.
- 54:45I wish every band asked us to tour with them and took holidays
- 54:48and birthdays into consideration too.
- 54:50Anyone that's ever been in a full time touring band wishes
- 54:52the same. I actually remember having a
- 54:54conversation last year with Dave where you told me we should be
- 54:57touring more. Didn't you also mention we
- 55:00should find a replacement for Lou now that he's in France?
- 55:02I figured the family aspect would break up of the breakup
- 55:06would be your only angle since it hits the hardest with people.
- 55:09Now that you lied about all of that, it'll forever be disputed
- 55:13regardless of what I or other guys say.
- 55:14Still confused as to why you would quit to take care of them
- 55:17and decided a month later you were going to continue the ban
- 55:20without us. I guess when I labeled dangles
- 55:22money out there it's hard to say no.
- 55:24So perhaps Aaron has a record deal he's been offered.
- 55:28We shall see. It's funny because you probably
- 55:34could have started a new band and gotten a big, gotten bigger
- 55:36than us, but you chose to run with the same name.
- 55:40It'll forever make me said that the band went down this way.
- 55:42That's the worst part about this.
- 55:43We probably would have even done something new together.
- 55:46See around Philly man. With the deuces.
- 55:50Yo. You know Philly is not that big
- 55:53a city. It is a small town.
- 55:55Be careful. Watch your back, bro.
- 55:57Riff Haven is here. El Cab is here.
- 56:00Vika is here. Wild shit.
- 56:04Just wild. All right, moving on.
- 56:06Rick Biano versus the Man. Everybody's been asking me to do
- 56:09a video on this. I might do it next week.
- 56:11Rick Biano issued a thing about takedowns.
- 56:16He showed his take his copyright strikes page on his YouTube
- 56:19account, and I'm seeing a lot of chatter out there.
- 56:25Universal is the biggest culprit.
- 56:26They are the biggest record label in the world.
- 56:29Even when Rick plays like a small snippet, it's he.
- 56:33You know, Rick's an entertainer, but he's educational, right?
- 56:36I think Rick, oh man, Beato Don and I give him a hard time on
- 56:40our podcast, but I think he's actually pretty great.
- 56:42He actually has produced albums, so he knows what the fuck he's
- 56:45talking about. Puppy Willows is here.
- 56:48Mitchell Snyder, you know, I think Rick is great.
- 56:53I do think tank detected a video that I caught a little of this
- 56:56week that was like Youtubers saying they're not making any
- 56:59money from their reactions is bullshit.
- 57:01I don't like, I think the reaction time is slowing.
- 57:06I think that it's not as interesting anymore.
- 57:08But what do I know? Moving on.
- 57:10Tell me what you think about Rick Bianco and his drama and
- 57:15all these record labels in general.
- 57:17He's not leaking albums. A little bit more about Ozzy.
- 57:21I know people were like, stop beating a dead horse, and a lot
- 57:26of people are beating a dead horse.
- 57:27But I will say that the BBC was supposed to air that Ozzy
- 57:30documentary and yanked it literally right before it was
- 57:33supposed to air, apparently on the wishes of the family.
- 57:37So that's the actual scoop. The news is the family asked
- 57:40that it be pulled down, not they pulled it down.
- 57:45Deftones Private Music is out now.
- 57:47They continue to tour. They're playing three new songs.
- 57:49The three new singles are being played live.
- 57:52And again, you can go check out my review of the album and Ghost
- 57:56Cults review on our website. It's pretty badass.
- 58:00We are getting a new Gojira next year.
- 58:03It is almost done being recorded.
- 58:05Joe de Plantier gave an interview at Bloodstock Open Air
- 58:08which we covered and there'll be a review coming soon with photos
- 58:12and everything of the whole weekend and Joe said new, new
- 58:15Gojira is almost done. The pressure is on.
- 58:17We want it to be as great as we can make it. 2026 for sure.
- 58:22New music early in the year, so that's fucking exciting.
- 58:24Get hyped. Gojira has been the Ghost Call
- 58:27album of the year twice only. Ghost and Deftones have also had
- 58:33two albums of the year. Ghost and Deftones going to
- 58:35battle it out this year. The remaining members of the
- 58:38Police are suing Sting. This is some wild shit.
- 58:42Apparently Sting has prevented them from collecting royalties
- 58:48and were not credited Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland
- 58:51properly. It's hard to believe that this
- 58:54band is suing each other. They did a reunion tour that was
- 58:57very successful about 15 years ago.
- 58:59I will forever regret not seeing them.
- 59:01I had tickets and I had to give them up because I had a calculus
- 59:05test for grad school and I needed the study.
- 59:10The study didn't help. Anyway, I should just went to
- 59:12the concert. Anyway, let's see, Mudvane.
- 59:26Mudvane is back with their first new song in 16 years and it's a
- 59:32banger. Hurt people hurt people.
- 59:34That'll be a music video I'm sure soon.
- 59:36It's pretty exciting. As you know, Ghost Cult
- 59:38predicted the Mudvane reunion back in 2020 and 2021.
- 59:44We broke the news. I'm so proud of that.
- 59:47It broke the website. It was such a popular story.
- 59:51All righty. Also also, whoa sudden.
- 59:55Load Error Metallica haircuts. Jesus Christ.
- 59:58Metallica is continuing to put out stuff from the Load Reload
- 1:00:02box set. I do not need this thing for
- 1:00:04$300. It wasn't that good the first
- 1:00:06time. Other big Metallica stuff, they
- 1:00:08are playing a private show tonight in Long Island and
- 1:00:11Amagansett, Long Island for 100 people, maybe a couple more.
- 1:00:15And they have launched their SiriusXM channel, Maximum
- 1:00:19Metallica. You've got SiriusXM.
- 1:00:22Let me know. Unsure.
- 1:00:27Unsure. Slip not drop the new single, a
- 1:00:38new version, a demo version of Me Inside from their upcoming
- 1:00:4225th anniversary, now 26th anniversary reissue of their
- 1:00:46debut album. Here's the Fantano lawsuit.
- 1:00:50Dillinger. Just what the fucking fuck, man?
- 1:00:56So Fantano continues to. I get the thing.
- 1:00:59I mentioned it earlier. I get the thing about Ronnie
- 1:01:01Radke and why it's metal and lamb goat.
- 1:01:06You know, you don't have to like everybody.
- 1:01:10You don't need to get all your music news from one place.
- 1:01:13You don't need to depend on the opinion.
- 1:01:15There's not one. You know, they used to only be
- 1:01:18CNN and there was no one else. And then there was conservative
- 1:01:21news and then there was other things.
- 1:01:23You don't have to get all your news from Blabbermouth.
- 1:01:25You don't have to like every artist.
- 1:01:30One of the things that I took kind of umbrage with in that
- 1:01:32Wyatt's metal video was the journalist that he was talking
- 1:01:35to. I think is a very good writer
- 1:01:37and well regarded. Said like, oh, you know, you
- 1:01:40should be supporting these artists and not, I'm not saying
- 1:01:42like a takedown is not also professional, but like, you
- 1:01:46know, if somebody is legitimately shitty, sucks or is
- 1:01:49a bad person, you are a journalist.
- 1:01:51You have a responsibility to let people know.
- 1:01:55I kind of miss the old owners of metal sucks to be honest with
- 1:01:58you, because they actually were like Bulldogs about taking down
- 1:02:01shitty people. And Ronnie is, you know,
- 1:02:04whatever. He's not his mistakes.
- 1:02:06No one is. I'm not mine.
- 1:02:08He's not his. But coming, you know, trying to
- 1:02:10sue Fantano for saying like, I don't like this guy in his
- 1:02:13music's mid. That's his opinion.
- 1:02:15It's just a fucking opinion. Who gives a shit?
- 1:02:19You know who really gives a shit?
- 1:02:25Bob Wizard is here. Ethan Chapman is here.
- 1:02:28Anyway, I think it was interesting that he was, you
- 1:02:31know, stocking the flames with another video.
- 1:02:33Pupil. Slicer is going to also have one
- 1:02:35of the most anticipated albums this year.
- 1:02:37They dropped the new single. They've got a mini tour coming
- 1:02:40up. Tomorrow we are getting a new
- 1:02:42song from Evanescence featuring Poppy and Courtney Laplante of
- 1:02:48Spirit Box. I am super excited for this.
- 1:02:50I bet it's going to be absolutely an ass kicker,
- 1:02:53especially to hear like Courtney scream against Poppy and Amy's
- 1:02:58singing. Super cool.
- 1:03:00I'm into it. And then I hope there's a tour.
- 1:03:03That would be sick. Just a reminder, this was
- 1:03:06actually a lot of fun. This is Dolly Van Gogh covered
- 1:03:10Mama. I'm coming home again.
- 1:03:11Talking about Ozzy, you know, OK cover, decent band.
- 1:03:19What else happened? This is We kill Cowboys from
- 1:03:22South Africa. They have a new album coming out
- 1:03:25and a new single they dropped that's kind of exciting.
- 1:03:28Ancients is coming on tour after their huge last album last week
- 1:03:32last year that I was big on. Recurrence is a band that has a
- 1:03:38new single and video out featuring Bjorn Speed Strid of
- 1:03:42Soil worked pretty fun. Fun video.
- 1:03:44At least The Warning is coming out with a live album.
- 1:03:49They've been dropping some songs and The Warning, it's kind of
- 1:03:53radical how huge they have become.
- 1:03:56You know, it's kind of radical. They're doing a global streaming
- 1:04:00event in theaters and they have a big live album.
- 1:04:04So they are on their way to becoming kind of like another
- 1:04:07Hailstorm. They might be pretty big.
- 1:04:08We interviewed them back at Aftershock 22.
- 1:04:12You can check that out on the channel.
- 1:04:14John Freeze has given a new interview to The New York Times,
- 1:04:20and he's talked about his firing from Foo Fighters.
- 1:04:24First and foremost, I just want to inform everybody.
- 1:04:27Like Deftones are written about in The New York Times and
- 1:04:29Forbes. These are paid placements.
- 1:04:32I know the publicist and labels don't want you to know this, but
- 1:04:35when somebody like Deftones in Forbes is because somebody
- 1:04:38wanted them to be like, we need Deftones to be in Forbes.
- 1:04:41For the few people that might like Deftones or remember they
- 1:04:44like Deftones 20 years ago, 25 years ago.
- 1:04:48And so that's how that happens. So, you know, you know,
- 1:04:56definitely, definitely have to couch your expectations when you
- 1:05:03see a major band in in a big publication like that.
- 1:05:07That's not a music magazine. But Josh says that he was taken
- 1:05:11by surprise. It was really the management,
- 1:05:13not Dave personally. And then he was like, honestly,
- 1:05:15not even my thing. Their music.
- 1:05:17I'm so much happier in Nine Inch Nails.
- 1:05:19But pretty fun that that's what he chose to talk about the
- 1:05:23firing of Foo Fighters. I guess he had to, right?
- 1:05:26I guess he had to. So anyway, Billy Denver is here
- 1:05:33and any rhythm is here. Hello.
- 1:05:35All right, We're almost done with the show.
- 1:05:39Also also, this is a pretty sad story.
- 1:05:43This was Breaking Benjamin's drummer Sean Foist is got health
- 1:05:52problems and he can't drum, so they recruited Asking
- 1:05:57Alexandria's drummer James Cassells to fill in.
- 1:06:02The group has been touring a lot with Chelsea Grin and Pablo
- 1:06:05Viveiros. And I guess I didn't know this,
- 1:06:10but it seems like Shawn has Hashimoto's disease, which I
- 1:06:19didn't know about and, you know, a lot of leg problems and, and
- 1:06:23making his drumming hard to do and harder and harder to do.
- 1:06:27So, you know, the cells. I didn't seem like he's joining
- 1:06:32Breaking Benjamin, but he's definitely going to be touring

- 1:11:06almost over and it's time for the mailbag.
- 1:11:09And this week's mailbag is a lot of fun.
- 1:11:12First of all, as you know, I mentioned earlier, I went to see
- 1:11:14the sword last night and I did get some merch because I like
- 1:11:19to, when I go to a show for free, I like to support the man.
- 1:11:22So I got this cool skirt from the sword.
- 1:11:25Look at this flying saucer. Very cool.
- 1:11:27They are. They do have some very pricey
- 1:11:31merch, but very good merch. There's some custom posters for
- 1:11:34the anniversary to wear. This shirt is very high quality
- 1:11:37in my size. Very excited about that.
- 1:11:40And then I just have to share this.
- 1:11:41I don't think he's here in the chat anymore, but Don Delamont
- 1:11:44and I got together earlier this month and he came to San
- 1:11:47Francisco because he's a Grateful Dead fan and they had
- 1:11:50the Grateful Dead 60th anniversary concerts and events
- 1:11:53all over the city. And I gave Don some stuff and
- 1:11:56Don gave me some stuff. So Don gave me this is pretty
- 1:11:59amazing. He gave me an autographed
- 1:12:02Revolver magazine with Alice Cooper on Alice Cooper's
- 1:12:06autograph. This is, I was absolutely
- 1:12:08touched to get this. I love Cooper.
- 1:12:11I was a big Revolver reader and fan.
- 1:12:16I don't really know a lot of people that are still reading
- 1:12:18Revolver, but it's out there. They do good work, great
- 1:12:21photography and stuff. And this was given to him and he
- 1:12:25gave this to me. This is like so incredibly
- 1:12:28generous and nice. And I know I've never had an
- 1:12:31Alice Cooper water. I've been following him since
- 1:12:33I'm a little kid. I've seen Alice Cooper about 10
- 1:12:35times. He's always put on a good show.
- 1:12:37And I thank you, Don for everything, for your friendship
- 1:12:41and being the Co host of Glacial musical podcast and everything
- 1:12:45else. Much appreciated.
- 1:12:47And that's our show at a very manageable one hour and 12
- 1:12:49minutes. It's almost Friday, it's the
- 1:12:52weekend, and thanks for being here.
- 1:12:55You could watch anywhere. If you've enjoyed any part of
- 1:12:57this, please like and subscribe. At the very least, if you want
- 1:13:00to drop us a tip, it's in the description.
- 1:13:02And that's our show. And as I say, every week of this
- 1:13:06juncture of the show, it's the ghost cult weekly ritual.
- 1:13:10Please don't drink and drive. Take care of yourselves, take
- 1:13:13care of each other. Or somebody falls down in the
- 1:13:15pit, pick them up and I'm going to dance a jig on the way out.
- 1:13:18Stay as metal as humanly possible and I'll see you in.
