- 2:35Speaker 2: Oway of Kentucky. Philon was really good against an m
- 2:40Speaker 2: and Auburn. Oway, who was the preseason player of the
- 2:45Speaker 2: Year in the SEC, was really good against Oklahoma and Tennessee.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And once again, freshman Nate a Met from the Falls
- 2:55Speaker 2: is the freshman of the week. Arizona is still number
- 3:00Speaker 2: one in the AP poll. Michigan is two, Houston has
- 3:05Speaker 2: jumped up five spots to number three, Duke is four,
- 3:11Speaker 2: then Iowa State, Yukon, Nebraska, Illinois, Kansas, and Michigan State
- 3:19Speaker 2: Florida up three notches to fourteen. Texas Tech is at sixteen,
- 3:27Speaker 2: Vanderbilt falls four spots to nineteen, Arkansas stays at twenty one.
- 3:34Speaker 2: In Kentucky is at twenty five. Lindsey Von's father says
- 3:41Speaker 2: that the American superstar will no longer race if he
- 3:46Speaker 2: has anything to say about it, Alan Kildo says she's
- 3:51Speaker 2: forty one and this is the end of her career.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Kildo and the rest of the family, a brother and
- 3:58Speaker 2: two sisters, have been with her since she is being
- 4:02Speaker 2: treated at a hospital in Italy after breaking her leg
- 4:07Speaker 2: in the downhill. On Sunday, Breezy Johnson won the gold
- 4:12Speaker 2: medal after Vaughn's injury. Today in hockey, the US women's
- 4:18Speaker 2: hockey team shut out Switzerland five to nothing. They will
- 4:23Speaker 2: play the Darth Vader of women's hockey tomorrow afternoon.
- 4:27Speaker 1: That is Canada.
- 4:30Speaker 2: By now, if you care, you know that Seattle won
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Super Bowl. Taking care of New England twenty nine
- 4:38Speaker 2: to thirteen in a game that saw five field goals.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It was ugly.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I mean, it was not pretty football, but Seattle probably
- 4:50Speaker 2: doesn't care about that.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I'm guessing.
- 4:54Speaker 2: North Dakota State has agreed to a deal to join
- 4:57Speaker 2: the Mountain West Conference for FOOTBA ball only. They're expected
- 5:02Speaker 2: to pay twelve million dollars to join the league. In addition,
- 5:06Speaker 2: they'll write a five million dollar check to pay the
- 5:10Speaker 2: NCAA to move to the FBS. I don't know how
- 5:15Speaker 2: many titles they won. It's like ten in the last
- 5:18Speaker 2: fifteen years or something like that. This hits home for
- 5:23Speaker 2: everybody in the sixties and seventies. Former University of Texas
- 5:27Speaker 2: All American running back Chris Gilbert has died in a
- 5:31Speaker 2: Houston hospital at the age of seventy nine. Gilbert was
- 5:34Speaker 2: a star running back at Spring Branch High School, and
- 5:39Speaker 2: he was one of the beginning of the wishboat for
- 5:44Speaker 2: the University of Texas, an All American, three times All
- 5:48Speaker 2: Southwest Conference performer, and a College Football Hall of Fame
- 5:53Speaker 2: inductee back in nineteen ninety nine.
- 5:56Speaker 1: At the time, he was the.
- 5:58Speaker 2: First college player to for one thousand yards in each
- 6:03Speaker 2: of his three seasons, freshmen were not eligible to play
- 6:07Speaker 2: back then. So Chris Gilbert has died at the age
- 6:13Speaker 2: of seventy nine, and the A and M baseball team
- 6:16Speaker 2: has moved its starting time. On April twenty first, for
- 6:21Speaker 2: all of you with season tickets, put this down. They're
- 6:24Speaker 2: playing UTSA at Bluebell Park. It has been moved up
- 6:29Speaker 2: three hours from the regularly scheduled six o'clock to three
- 6:34Speaker 2: o'clock because of campus muster that evening. Okay, so put
- 6:40Speaker 2: that on your calendar. Tell them you heard it here first,
- 6:44Speaker 2: and you'll be fine. The Aggies begin their baseball season
- 6:49Speaker 2: on Friday, and I know what the weather is right now.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I know what the forecast says it's going to be.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I still think it's going to be about thirty two
- 7:00Speaker 2: agrees at Olson Field Friday night. But I could be wrong.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I've been wrong before.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I'm not a weather man, but I guarantee I'm better
- 7:09Speaker 2: than all the people around here you see on television
- 7:13Speaker 2: because I go outside and tell you what the weather's
- 7:15Speaker 2: going to be.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I don't think they're able.
- 7:17Speaker 5: To do that.
- 7:21Speaker 2: We're gonna hear from Bucky, We're gonna hear from Todd
- 7:25Speaker 2: Golden on Florida A and M on Saturday Night, eighty
- 7:31Speaker 2: six sixty seven, an announced sold out crowd of twelve thousand,
- 7:36Speaker 2: eight hundred and thirty one an M was never really
- 7:41Speaker 2: in that game. We'll talk about that, we'll hear from
- 7:46Speaker 2: the writers, get their opinion on it, and again I'm
- 7:50Speaker 2: going to be visiting about the best Super Bowl commercials
- 7:55Speaker 2: and maybe the worst with the chief creative officer for
- 8:00Speaker 2: M and C, Satchee Stevie Archer, will join me here
- 8:05Speaker 2: in about twenty five minutes to talk Super Bowl advertising.
- 8:09Speaker 2: If you want to talk about Super Bowl, we're going
- 8:13Speaker 2: to spend most of the show breaking down that game
- 8:16Speaker 2: for you, so be sure and stay tuned. Tomorrow we
- 8:21Speaker 2: will have some A and M preview of their Wednesday
- 8:26Speaker 2: night matchup against Missouri. We'll hear from Bucky Scott Clendenon
- 8:33Speaker 2: will be hosting the show on Wednesday. Mallory will be
- 8:38Speaker 2: here with us tomorrow as well. Thursday on the Clark
- 8:43Speaker 2: Eisenhower Outdoor Edition, we'll be talking about the upcoming Ducks
- 8:48Speaker 2: Unlimited Bank here. In a couple of weeks or actually
- 8:52Speaker 2: I think it's a week from Friday. I'll get all
- 8:55Speaker 2: that straight when we talk to the guys on Thursday. Okay,
- 9:00Speaker 2: we're going to take a break, we're gonna come back.
- 9:02Speaker 2: We're going to do a little post game analysis and
- 9:07Speaker 2: hear from the participants after this. For Chad Jones Law.

- 10:21Speaker 9: There were bellshill but I never heard them ringing.
- 10:29Speaker 10: No.
- 10:29Speaker 11: I never heard them at all, So that was you.
- 10:36Speaker 11: There were birds in the.
- 10:39Speaker 12: Sky, but I never saw them wringing. No, I never
- 10:45Speaker 12: saw them at all. So there was the lost music.
- 10:55Speaker 12: Why love there?
- 10:58Speaker 9: Tell me sweet fragrant meadows of There was all the round, but.
- 11:11Speaker 12: I never seen.
- 11:16Speaker 13: Never.
- 11:18Speaker 2: That was song number two of the five song set
- 11:22Speaker 2: that the Beatles did on Ed Sullivan sixty two years ago.
- 11:26Speaker 2: It's so cool watching the it's not video, it was film.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Then it's been translated.
- 11:31Speaker 2: But they introduced each one the camera had to close up.
- 11:34Speaker 2: First was Paul, who was singing the lead. Then they
- 11:37Speaker 2: went to Ringo, then they went to George, and then
- 11:40Speaker 2: they just used their first names and finally John, and
- 11:44Speaker 2: underneath it said sorry girls, he's married. Oh it's it's
- 11:53Speaker 2: it's pretty interesting to watch the film of that from
- 11:57Speaker 2: that long ago. But man, are we glad that that's
- 12:01Speaker 2: been preserved after all these years. All right, full house
- 12:07Speaker 2: on Saturday night, and the crowd really never had a
- 12:13Speaker 2: chance to get going. Frankly, you know, A ANDM had
- 12:18Speaker 2: a ten minute dry spell.
- 12:22Speaker 1: They were like one for twenty two or one for
- 12:24Speaker 1: twenty three.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It was. It was incredible. We'll hear the players talking
- 12:32Speaker 2: about that. We're gonna hear Bucky talk about that as well.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I mean, when you look at some of the stats,
- 12:41Speaker 2: like A and M out rebounded Florida in the first half,
- 12:47Speaker 2: and the Aggis had eighteen offensive rebounds to seventeen for
- 12:53Speaker 2: the Gators for the game, I'm saying that this is
- 12:59Speaker 2: the best offensive rebounding team in America. Florida is, and
- 13:04Speaker 2: A and M out rebounded them, you know, at halftime.
- 13:09Speaker 2: As bad as it was, A and M scored nineteen
- 13:13Speaker 2: points in the first half, okay, but they were only
- 13:17Speaker 2: down eleven, And that's really quite remarkable because Florida went
- 13:26Speaker 2: that good either. They were twelve of twenty nine from
- 13:28Speaker 2: the field in the first half. That's still better than
- 13:33Speaker 2: six for thirty five and one for fourteen from three,
- 13:40Speaker 2: one for fourteen. I mean the second half they shot
- 13:45Speaker 2: like they shoot. They were eight for twenty, they were
- 13:47Speaker 2: forty percent from three. But by then it was over
- 13:52Speaker 2: because Florida started a ten to one run to start
- 13:57Speaker 2: the second half. It was fifty to twenty four. Is
- 14:01Speaker 2: a twenty eight point game at that point. All right,
- 14:05Speaker 2: let's hear first of all from Bucky.
- 14:09Speaker 5: But one thing I'll say is this, the game is
- 14:12Speaker 5: not as bad as we think or how we feel.
- 14:14Speaker 5: I know, people say, what do you mean, Like I've
- 14:15Speaker 5: been around this game a long time.
- 14:17Speaker 13: Man.
- 14:17Speaker 5: We we came out there. We literally couldn't make a
- 14:21Speaker 5: shot in that game, even the ones that we should
- 14:23Speaker 5: have made, and they played great d even the layps
- 14:25Speaker 5: we could have made. The threes we could have made
- 14:27Speaker 5: early in that game, we just could not take the
- 14:30Speaker 5: lid off the basket. And so you know, you find
- 14:33Speaker 5: yourself in that spot. I thought our guys really played
- 14:35Speaker 5: great defense the first half, like about as good as
- 14:37Speaker 5: we can play on defense. And you know, we're right
- 14:42Speaker 5: right there. We just couldn't make a shot to cut
- 14:44Speaker 5: into the lead. They came out there right away, We
- 14:46Speaker 5: couldn't score, they get loose. We had bad misshot defense,
- 14:51Speaker 5: and the reason that happened was because we couldn't score.
- 14:54Speaker 5: We're just so answer we can't score. We have five
- 14:57Speaker 5: guys trying to get the ball on offensive rebound up,
- 15:00Speaker 5: they throw ahead, they're getting to lay up, they throw
- 15:01Speaker 5: they're getting a layout. But when we were able to
- 15:05Speaker 5: get our defense that I thought it was pretty good.
- 15:07Speaker 5: When we find just everybody knows, we find ourselves down
- 15:10Speaker 5: by twenty eight points, guys, you know you got a
- 15:13Speaker 5: very small percent chance of winning the game. The only
- 15:15Speaker 5: way you have a chance to win a game is
- 15:17Speaker 5: if you create enough possessions in the game of that point.
- 15:19Speaker 5: And so we're literally gonna make them play fast and
- 15:21Speaker 5: we're gonna trap till they probably shoot the ball. They're
- 15:24Speaker 5: gonna get a lot of dunks when that happens. But
- 15:25Speaker 5: it's your only chance to have enough possessions to have
- 15:28Speaker 5: that one one hundred chance to win the game. So
- 15:31Speaker 5: I say that, say it's not as bad as it feels.
- 15:34Speaker 5: We knew we probably need to make about fifteen threes
- 15:36Speaker 5: in this game. Weren't close to that, but you know,
- 15:40Speaker 5: we'll be back. And I would doing a credit to them.
- 15:43Speaker 5: They played very good defense, and it plays good anybody
- 15:45Speaker 5: in the country right now, And so we knew we
- 15:47Speaker 5: couldn't have a game where we went over from three.
- 15:50Speaker 5: We need to have a better game from the three
- 15:51Speaker 5: point line versus their size.
- 15:56Speaker 14: Jesus, what was just going through your mind during that
- 15:59Speaker 14: ten minute straight in the first half where you guys
- 16:01Speaker 14: miss twenty three however many shots it was in a round.
- 16:05Speaker 5: You know, a couple of things. You want to make
- 16:08Speaker 5: sure you're getting the right ones. But I just was
- 16:13Speaker 5: kind of laughing inside a little bit, like what the
- 16:15Speaker 5: heck's going on? Like, you know, what is this? You
- 16:17Speaker 5: know what I'm saying. You know, we've all seen it.
- 16:19Speaker 5: We've all seen a game like that. It's almost like
- 16:22Speaker 5: the guys are too amped to play almost. I think
- 16:24Speaker 5: the next time there'll be more calm. But I was
- 16:28Speaker 5: also thinking about how hard we're playing and how good
- 16:30Speaker 5: a defense we're playing to still be around in the game.
- 16:33Speaker 5: You know, the next thing you start thinking about is
- 16:35Speaker 5: when you can't score and that scores getting away from you.
- 16:38Speaker 5: What is the only chance to get back in this game?
- 16:40Speaker 5: And when do we go to pretty much Koma cosy
- 16:42Speaker 5: mode to try to give ourselves a chance, which we
- 16:44Speaker 5: didn't need to in the first half. At one point
- 16:46Speaker 5: in the second half, we had to go to it.
- 16:49Speaker 15: What did you tell the guys during that stretch. You
- 16:51Speaker 15: could see a lot of them pretty visibly frustrated.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I just thought we'd have a sequence where we'd make,
- 16:57Speaker 5: you know, ten threes and you know, and of our
- 17:00Speaker 5: next twelve or something like that. Just never really happened
- 17:04Speaker 5: for us, you know, and because of their size, they're huge,
- 17:07Speaker 5: one of the biggest seams college basketball. You know, you
- 17:10Speaker 5: can say, when you're off, let's just take it to
- 17:11Speaker 5: the basket, let's just throw it inside. But you know,
- 17:16Speaker 5: that's tough.
- 17:17Speaker 11: With their side.
- 17:18Speaker 16: It's very tough with their sides.
- 17:19Speaker 5: So we were relying on the three point shot tonight
- 17:22Speaker 5: more than you want to be, but it was probably necessary.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Just been real lucky.
- 17:27Speaker 17: Is this a performance that feels like a fluid just
- 17:31Speaker 17: considering what you guys have done for this and or
- 17:35Speaker 17: how much is it? Maybe did they figure.
- 17:37Speaker 5: You guys out a little bit? I don't know. I mean,
- 17:40Speaker 5: I gotta go back and look at the shots. I mean,
- 17:42Speaker 5: I don't think there's any way. I don't care if contested,
- 17:44Speaker 5: none contested. As bad as we were shooting in the
- 17:46Speaker 5: first half. I mean, you know, we're one for fourteen
- 17:48Speaker 5: from three. You know, for the we're six or thirty
- 17:53Speaker 5: five from the first half, even if we played the
- 17:55Speaker 5: best defense of all time or we're better than that.
- 17:58Speaker 5: You know, I do know that, So I can go
- 18:03Speaker 5: back and look at that. I you know, no, they
- 18:05Speaker 5: they've been good. They beat Alabama really bad the other day.
- 18:08Speaker 5: But you know, it wasn't it was not a deal
- 18:14Speaker 5: where we literally couldn't get a shot off. It wasn't
- 18:16Speaker 5: until we were turnover. We got some shots off. We
- 18:18Speaker 5: had some layups that we missed as well, And that's
- 18:22Speaker 5: not a result or anything, but just us not playing
- 18:24Speaker 5: up to our potential.
- 18:25Speaker 16: Probably down eleven and a half was a message to the.
- 18:28Speaker 5: Guys at that point, got to keep defending. And we
- 18:32Speaker 5: said this and this is the only thing that was
- 18:33Speaker 5: a little frustrated within the game. And we did a
- 18:36Speaker 5: great job on the boards. I mean, I'll say that,
- 18:38Speaker 5: so I gotta preface this with what I'm about to say.
- 18:42Speaker 5: We got nineteen offensive rebounds, which is probably maybe the
- 18:45Speaker 5: most we've had all year long in the SEC. I
- 18:47Speaker 5: gotta go look at that. We got nineteen offensive rebounds
- 18:50Speaker 5: because on these misshots. Everybody's fighting to go beat the ball.
- 18:54Speaker 5: The negative of that is when we weren't getting the
- 18:56Speaker 5: ball and those misshots, they're rebounding with three a lot
- 18:58Speaker 5: of times, they're pitching that thing and getting buckets. Why
- 19:01Speaker 5: were our guys doing that? Because they're just trying to
- 19:04Speaker 5: keep us in the game. But at the half, we said, hey,
- 19:07Speaker 5: we got to watch our mishot defense. Guys. We're getting
- 19:09Speaker 5: too antsy.
- 19:10Speaker 16: I could feel it.
- 19:11Speaker 5: We're getting too antsy. It's like we missed another shot
- 19:12Speaker 5: and we're like, we got to go get it back,
- 19:14Speaker 5: and we don't stick to our responsibilities and have our
- 19:16Speaker 5: back guys, you know. So we talked about that and
- 19:20Speaker 5: then they came out there quickly. We didn't score, and
- 19:22Speaker 5: they got some quick buckets and transition off turnovers and
- 19:25Speaker 5: that thingskyrocketed. But I told him that we were right there, man,
- 19:27Speaker 5: it's just gonna take two shots and we're right back
- 19:28Speaker 5: in this.
- 19:30Speaker 17: Coach Coach Golden said that in the game tensions, he
- 19:34Speaker 17: just felt like it wasn't too serious, just two teams competing.
- 19:38Speaker 17: What was your kind of vantage point on went on
- 19:40Speaker 17: there at the end.
- 19:41Speaker 5: I didn't see what happened on the floor at the
- 19:42Speaker 5: n I didn't say. I was talking to the fans,
- 19:45Speaker 5: so I don't know. I mean, you know, and it
- 19:48Speaker 5: was a physical game. Both teams were playing hard, you know.
- 19:52Speaker 5: I don't know. I didn't see what.
- 19:53Speaker 11: Happened anything else.
- 19:57Speaker 17: Were just that you guys lost too in a row
- 20:01Speaker 17: earlier this season and responded in a big way. Is
- 20:03Speaker 17: it the message kind of similar? And how you guys
- 20:06Speaker 17: kind of flushed this one as we.
- 20:07Speaker 5: All again in next week? Yeah, I thought we played
- 20:09Speaker 5: good at Alabama. We didn't win. We didn't play good totnight.
- 20:12Speaker 5: We weren't as tight as we need to be. Of
- 20:14Speaker 5: course of the shop making, we just weren't as tight
- 20:16Speaker 5: as we need to be. I think we can learn
- 20:18Speaker 5: more from this game than a lot of games, and
- 20:20Speaker 5: just understanding like when we're all we got to stay
- 20:23Speaker 5: stayed the course and not get too antsy, you know.
- 20:25Speaker 5: And you know, again, look, our future, our desties were
- 20:30Speaker 5: right in front of us. We just went through a
- 20:31Speaker 5: very tough spot playing at Alabama, playing ourth Florida right now,
- 20:34Speaker 5: that's a very tough spot. Those are tough teams. You know,
- 20:38Speaker 5: could easily win at Alabama, didn't win this one tonight.
- 20:41Speaker 5: We got opportunities coming up here with four home games
- 20:44Speaker 5: that we're gonna need everybody here for crowd was unbelievable. Hey,
- 20:48Speaker 5: we're breaking jumping, man, and our guys ramped up and
- 20:52Speaker 5: it's almost the crowd was so energetic. Our guys were
- 20:54Speaker 5: too energetic. But that's okay. We'll get used to that
- 20:57Speaker 5: and we need that environment coming here and read. Look,
- 21:00Speaker 5: that team won the national championship last year and they're good.
- 21:05Speaker 5: But I do remember when when their staff got to Florida, right,
- 21:09Speaker 5: they took them a second to get it going. But
- 21:13Speaker 5: I can promise you as we go forward, man, we're
- 21:15Speaker 5: going to be able to compete at a high level
- 21:17Speaker 5: with anybody in this league. And I'm not saying if
- 21:19Speaker 5: we don't. If we were to those guys againing this
- 21:20Speaker 5: each tournament, we can't be right there, Well, we're probably
- 21:23Speaker 5: not going to do it with their size. Having a
- 21:25Speaker 5: first half shooting the ball the way that we did.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Not only when you shoot the ball like that, are
- 21:29Speaker 5: you not scoring?
- 21:30Speaker 2: It?
- 21:30Speaker 5: Should give them those guys chances again and transition to
- 21:33Speaker 5: take that thing and use her size and get to.
- 21:34Speaker 1: The real All right, That was Bucky.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Post game, there was some jawing a little bit of
- 21:40Speaker 2: pushing in the congratulatory line after the game. Video showed
- 21:46Speaker 2: one of the Florida assistants I think getting after Ryland Griffin,
- 21:52Speaker 2: who had a flagrant foul, and maybe the head coach
- 21:57Speaker 2: is well, we'll hear from Todd Golden here in a minute.
- 22:00Speaker 2: And again everybody brushes it off. A and M players
- 22:04Speaker 2: didn't say much about it. Bucky said, hey, I was
- 22:06Speaker 2: talking to fans. I didn't see it. The players, you know,
- 22:11Speaker 2: just a contested game.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I didn't see it. Fortunately, it wasn't a big deal.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It could have turned a new big deal. Shame on
- 22:20Speaker 2: the coach. Any coach that would talk to a player
- 22:24Speaker 2: in the handshake game like that afterward, that's not acceptable.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I would like to see the league step in and
- 22:33Speaker 2: put at least the assistant on double secret probation. I
- 22:39Speaker 2: guess we'd never hear about it, but that probably should happen.
- 22:44Speaker 2: That you shouldn't have coaches talking players like that in
- 22:49Speaker 2: the handshake line after the game. I know there was
- 22:53Speaker 2: frustration on A and M's part that the foul by
- 22:56Speaker 2: Ryland that was not his normal personality. He did not
- 23:03Speaker 2: have a good game, he was frustrated. I gave a
- 23:07Speaker 2: little shot to the back, got caught. You know, he
- 23:10Speaker 2: was two for seven from the field, just had seven points.
- 23:14Speaker 2: He's been much better, he will be much better afterward.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Let's hear from Florida coach Todd Golden post game.
- 23:23Speaker 18: I thought, you know, this was a great environment tonight,
- 23:27Speaker 18: and you know, two teams that have played really, really well,
- 23:30Speaker 18: you know, playing for pool position in this league. And
- 23:33Speaker 18: I thought our guys did a great job for forty
- 23:35Speaker 18: minutes defending rebound, to take care of the ball and
- 23:37Speaker 18: playing with great poise and led to a commanding victory.
- 23:41Speaker 15: Question.
- 23:43Speaker 14: You know, through that ten minute period, ray him didn't
- 23:46Speaker 14: make a shot, just what you feel like you guys
- 23:47Speaker 14: were doing well to mitigate them.
- 23:50Speaker 18: I thought our guys did an incredible job of being
- 23:52Speaker 18: on the scouting report. You know, obviously am has some
- 23:54Speaker 18: lethal shooters and some really aggressive physical drivers, and our
- 23:58Speaker 18: guys did a really good job of understanding that person snel.
- 24:01Speaker 18: You know, when when they start that way, there's a
- 24:03Speaker 18: little luck involved in that also, But I think big
- 24:06Speaker 18: picture wise, our guys did a really good job of
- 24:09Speaker 18: getting them to take the shots that we wanted them
- 24:11Speaker 18: to take. And once they missed a few, I thought
- 24:13Speaker 18: it snowballed a little bit. And you know, again, second half,
- 24:16Speaker 18: we obviously didn't defend nearly as well, gave up three
- 24:18Speaker 18: times as many points as we did the first but
- 24:20Speaker 18: we got off to a great start that way. I
- 24:24Speaker 18: thought we did a great job. We had nine turnovers,
- 24:26Speaker 18: a couple early, a little fluky. I think we had
- 24:29Speaker 18: four turnovers in the first six or seven minutes of
- 24:30Speaker 18: the game and then five the rest.
- 24:33Speaker 5: You know.
- 24:34Speaker 18: Our ability to not only take care of the ball
- 24:36Speaker 18: but really advance it and attack and transition led to
- 24:38Speaker 18: a lot of runouts and dunks for us in the
- 24:40Speaker 18: second half. And I thought our guys did a really
- 24:42Speaker 18: good job of playing fast, but not in a hurry.
- 24:45Speaker 5: They probably went to the locker room.
- 24:46Speaker 15: Two was okay, but themselves a few seven day shots
- 24:48Speaker 15: in the world w pulling down eleven and twenty two
- 24:51Speaker 15: to five out of the Bock Whipples.
- 24:53Speaker 19: And less watch draft on.
- 24:54Speaker 18: You know, I thought we played well in the first half,
- 24:56Speaker 18: and we knew that we were gonna get their best
- 24:57Speaker 18: shot coming out of halftime, And again is same story.
- 25:00Speaker 16: The first half.
- 25:01Speaker 18: Got to make sure we don't let their three point
- 25:03Speaker 18: shooters get off. We got to make sure we take
- 25:05Speaker 18: care of the basketball. And then the message at halftime
- 25:08Speaker 18: was we did a really poor job rebounding in the
- 25:10Speaker 18: first half. We were minus two overall, and I thought
- 25:13Speaker 18: we were not as physical as we needed to be
- 25:15Speaker 18: that way.
- 25:16Speaker 16: We obviously defended well in the first half.
- 25:17Speaker 18: We took care of the ball well enough in the
- 25:18Speaker 18: first half, but we really challenged our guys to do
- 25:21Speaker 18: a better job rebounding in the second half, and we
- 25:23Speaker 18: did that.
- 25:23Speaker 16: We were plus nine on the boards in the second half.
- 25:26Speaker 17: Coach, was there anything you guys were doing defensively to
- 25:28Speaker 17: give them some.
- 25:29Speaker 11: Issues at the rim? Or was such a such a
- 25:31Speaker 11: product that Kel's.
- 25:32Speaker 16: Length a combination of both.
- 25:33Speaker 18: I would think, you know, we want to make sure
- 25:36Speaker 18: we're physical and do a good job going vertical around
- 25:38Speaker 18: the rim. I thought, you know, there were times where
- 25:40Speaker 18: we did a good job of uh, you know, when
- 25:43Speaker 18: they were kind of getting downhill a little too quickly,
- 25:45Speaker 18: of going vertical, but also jumping back to not allow
- 25:48Speaker 18: them to get in our bodies, and it led them to,
- 25:50Speaker 18: you know, some off balanced shots. But you know, we
- 25:53Speaker 18: got good length and good size, good athleticism, and our
- 25:55Speaker 18: bigs are really smart and know when to help and
- 25:57Speaker 18: when to not.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Well, it's first time in nine years ago four straight
- 26:01Speaker 2: road games.
- 26:02Speaker 11: Just cond mentality is to take to go on the road.
- 26:05Speaker 18: And just yeah, I mean, you know, really good teams
- 26:09Speaker 18: have to do it. You know, if we if we
- 26:10Speaker 18: want a chance to win this league, we're gonna have
- 26:11Speaker 18: to win a couple more of them. And you know,
- 26:15Speaker 18: I think that's one of the biggest compliments that we
- 26:17Speaker 18: can pay pay our group is regardless of Homer Road,
- 26:21Speaker 18: you know, they seem to be pretty consistent with their efforts.
- 26:23Speaker 18: And I thought, again, like we we've had some really
- 26:26Speaker 18: really good road efforts in a row, dating back to
- 26:29Speaker 18: you know, Vanderbilt and then going to South Carolina and
- 26:34Speaker 18: obviously this one. I think those were the last three, right,
- 26:36Speaker 18: But uh yeah, we've been playing well. We got to
- 26:38Speaker 18: keep it going. We're in a good spot right now.
- 26:40Speaker 18: But there's a lot of a lot of basketball left
- 26:42Speaker 18: to be played in this league. And as good as
- 26:44Speaker 18: we're feeling right now, if we don't, you know, perform
- 26:47Speaker 18: well on Wednesday, it's gonna be the exact opposite.
- 26:49Speaker 16: So we've got to continue to build off this.
- 26:51Speaker 18: And uh, you know, we're gonna play a really good
- 26:52Speaker 18: Georgia team on Wednesday, so hopefully we can go on
- 26:54Speaker 18: the road and find a way to get that one.
- 26:55Speaker 15: Also, more and kind of what was going on after
- 26:59Speaker 15: the game a little bit intense eight.
- 27:01Speaker 18: You know, obviously two really good teams competing, and I think,
- 27:05Speaker 18: you know, when that happens, obviously there's gonna be a winner,
- 27:08Speaker 18: there's gonna be a loser. And there were some tensions flearning,
- 27:11Speaker 18: but you know, I don't think there was anything that
- 27:13Speaker 18: was too serious. And you know, we'll see if we
- 27:16Speaker 18: see these guys in the convererce cerament. But Bucky's doing
- 27:18Speaker 18: a great job. I think they played with a lot
- 27:20Speaker 18: of purpose. They got a really good system, and you know,
- 27:23Speaker 18: A M is going to be a team that you
- 27:25Speaker 18: hear from the rest of the year.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Studd Colden and again he wasn't gonna say anything about it.
- 27:32Speaker 2: We'll hear from Pop Isaac's and Marcus Hill coming up
- 27:36Speaker 2: a little bit a little bit later. You look at
- 27:41Speaker 2: it and Florida had forty eight points in the paint
- 27:46Speaker 2: forty eight of their eighty six points in the paint
- 27:48Speaker 2: to just twenty four for A and M. They had
- 27:51Speaker 2: thirteen second chance points. They had twenty one fast break
- 27:55Speaker 2: points to seven. A lot of that coming off the pressure.
- 28:01Speaker 2: They attack the pressure really well. Boogie Flynn has been
- 28:04Speaker 2: playing great for them. That's why Florida has really picked
- 28:08Speaker 2: it up the last month. He had just two turnovers.
- 28:14Speaker 2: They've got man, They've got players. You know, they've got talent.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I think they have Final Four ability.
- 28:24Speaker 1: But in order to do that, they.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Have to shoot from the outside better than they've been
- 28:33Speaker 2: shooting it. They are not a great outside shooting team.
- 28:37Speaker 2: They were six for twenty three twenty six percent against
- 28:42Speaker 2: A and M. I don't think they can win six
- 28:46Speaker 2: games in a row shooting like that.
- 28:51Speaker 16: And I mean.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Statistics show that's how they shoot, so that that could
- 28:58Speaker 2: be an issue. But and they got length, they got talent.
- 29:04Speaker 2: They go get the ball when they miss from three.
- 29:07Speaker 2: They are the real deal. And maybe A and then
- 29:12Speaker 2: we'll see him again in Nashville. We'll see Okay, we're
- 29:18Speaker 2: gonna take a break, we're gonna come back. We're going
- 29:21Speaker 2: to talk Super Bowl commercials with Stevie Archer. I want
- 29:28Speaker 2: to send you over to see my man, Pat Sevchek

- 32:04Speaker 16: His name is Billy Luci.
- 32:05Speaker 24: Like I think Marco Jones is one of my breakout players.
- 32:08Speaker 25: People jump on that bandwagon. Later will let them, but
- 32:11Speaker 25: I've been saying that. I think since last fall, like
- 32:15Speaker 25: this year, I could see him making them becoming a
- 32:18Speaker 25: huge factor on this defense. TJ sears he is a
- 32:22Speaker 25: veteran senior.
- 32:24Speaker 24: They added a lot of experience, three hundred and three
- 32:28Speaker 24: experienced three hundred pounders. I think Rink and Sanders are
- 32:33Speaker 24: set to go from getting their feet wet to being
- 32:36Speaker 24: key contributor. So there's a lot to be excited.
- 32:39Speaker 25: About on the inside. The two guys that added Taker
- 32:42Speaker 25: and Henderson at end will really add to what they've got.
- 32:46Speaker 24: So oh man, I look, there's a lot to love
- 32:50Speaker 24: about what's sitting now.
- 32:51Speaker 7: On the d Line, Techaggs Live weekdays from eight to eleven.
- 32:54Speaker 26: On the Zone, we're celebrating start of Beatlemania, which happened
- 33:10Speaker 26: on this day sixty two years ago.
- 33:13Speaker 2: On the Ed Sullivan Show. They opened with all My
- 33:17Speaker 2: Loving They sang till there was You. They sang this song,
- 33:21Speaker 2: she Loves You, and then they came back and did
- 33:24Speaker 2: a second set in the back half of the show
- 33:28Speaker 2: and ended with two songs. I saw her standing there
- 33:31Speaker 2: and I want to hold your hand. Seventy three million
- 33:35Speaker 2: people saw that show on this day, sixty two years ago.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Right now, we're going to jump out to the Players
- 33:44Speaker 2: Fund center phone line. We're going to talk Super Bowl
- 33:47Speaker 2: ads with Stevie Archer. She is the chief creative officer
- 33:51Speaker 2: for IMiD C.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Sachi. All right, take it away, my friend, Stevie. How
- 33:56Speaker 1: are you.
- 33:58Speaker 27: I'm great. How are you?
- 33:59Speaker 1: I'm great? Thanks for the time.
- 34:01Speaker 2: You know, the game was terrible, but I thought as
- 34:05Speaker 2: a whole, I really liked the.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Commercials this year.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I thought the last four or five years had been
- 34:12Speaker 2: kind of weak, but I kind of liked them.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yesterday good.
- 34:15Speaker 28: I'm glad and thank god we had the ads because
- 34:17Speaker 28: as you said, the game was boring is all get out.
- 34:20Speaker 28: So yeah, I thought it was a solid showing too.
- 34:23Speaker 28: I think I think it was a return to a
- 34:25Speaker 28: lot of humor, and I think people are.
- 34:26Speaker 27: Really looking for that.
- 34:28Speaker 2: You know, you always have humor, and then you have
- 34:31Speaker 2: the heart string tugs and those two seem to catch
- 34:35Speaker 2: the day every year.
- 34:38Speaker 28: Yeah, I think we probably had, you know, probably sixty
- 34:41Speaker 28: percent humor, and then, as you said, I think we
- 34:43Speaker 28: had about forty percent emotional advertising. We had mister Rogers
- 34:49Speaker 28: song showing up and Won't You Be My Neighbor? And
- 34:52Speaker 28: a mortgage company ad, and we had Lais Potato Farmers
- 34:56Speaker 28: sort of like keeping the generational farms going. And uh,
- 35:01Speaker 28: I'm not sure if it's purely sentimental, but then you
- 35:03Speaker 28: had the Budweiser Clydesdale's and the American Eagle and Free Bird,
- 35:06Speaker 28: which is hard to argue with in terms of feel
- 35:09Speaker 28: good emotional pull in a non humorous kind of way.
- 35:13Speaker 27: So you're absolutely right.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I'm telling you, Budweiser does it every year. I don't
- 35:19Speaker 2: know how they do it.
- 35:20Speaker 27: They do.
- 35:21Speaker 28: I mean they they've been a Super Bowl mainstay for
- 35:24Speaker 28: so long and they have built such a people look
- 35:27Speaker 28: forward to Clydesdale spots every year, and uh, you know,
- 35:33Speaker 28: putting that together, I think that's one of the standouts
- 35:35Speaker 28: of the night, just because it was such a pure
- 35:38Speaker 28: and straight up epic Super Bowl ad that's hard to
- 35:42Speaker 28: argue with in terms of, you know, all the ingredients
- 35:45Speaker 28: that they brought forward. You got a dalmatian, you got horses,
- 35:48Speaker 28: You've got a bald eagle.
- 35:49Speaker 27: Baby, it's you know, you had an orme.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they cut live.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I just thought that was a wow moment, right when
- 35:59Speaker 2: when they have the eagle sitting on the horse.
- 36:02Speaker 1: That was a wow moment for me.
- 36:04Speaker 27: Yeah, it was a big night for birds last night.
- 36:06Speaker 28: I had bald eagles. We had a hawk in the stadium.
- 36:10Speaker 28: I mean, it was big night for birds. That's what
- 36:12Speaker 28: I'm taking away.
- 36:14Speaker 2: The Pepsi commercial graded really high today on the AD
- 36:18Speaker 2: Meter with the bears, the polar Bears. Yeah, for me,
- 36:22Speaker 2: it was like, you know, it's cute, but it didn't
- 36:25Speaker 2: do it for me. And I'm wondering about the ad
- 36:27Speaker 2: meter ratings and what you thought about that ad.
- 36:31Speaker 28: Yeah, I mean it's always interesting to see how the
- 36:34Speaker 28: AD meter does versus what you start to hear about
- 36:37Speaker 28: the advertising in real life.
- 36:39Speaker 27: I thought it was a pretty solid ad.
- 36:41Speaker 28: I think again, what's interesting about it is they're using
- 36:45Speaker 28: an advertising icon, but Pepsi was using Cokes advertising icon,
- 36:50Speaker 28: so it's a little bit it remains to be seen.
- 36:53Speaker 27: I think.
- 36:55Speaker 28: Poked at your competitor a little bit, but you also
- 36:57Speaker 28: spent a huge amount of ad time essentially sort of
- 37:01Speaker 28: branding your competitor. So I think that one was one
- 37:04Speaker 28: that I thought was really well made, and I thought
- 37:06Speaker 28: it was really sharp and clever. But I questioned a
- 37:09Speaker 28: little bit whether it was the right strategy to use
- 37:12Speaker 28: your competitors' icons everywhere.
- 37:15Speaker 2: You know, we know what happened with Bud like months ago,
- 37:18Speaker 2: but I don't know what their sales are right now.
- 37:23Speaker 2: But bringing Peyton Manning in when all of that stuff happened,
- 37:26Speaker 2: that was brilliant post Malone. I love the keg commercial.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I thought that was very inventive.
- 37:33Speaker 28: Yeah, I thought that was another just straight up good, classic, simple,
- 37:40Speaker 28: you know, Super Bowl punchline commercial. They've been using post
- 37:43Speaker 28: Malone and Gillis and Peyton Manning, as you said, for
- 37:47Speaker 28: a lot of their work. They've been running during NFL
- 37:50Speaker 28: ads and you know, they had a visual psych gag.
- 37:53Speaker 28: You got people tumbling down a hill after a keg
- 37:55Speaker 28: and it's not too complicated, it's not too hard to track,
- 37:58Speaker 28: and then you have Peyton Manning that gets to deliver
- 37:59Speaker 28: the punchline at the end. And so I think that
- 38:02Speaker 28: was another really solid one again just keeping it really
- 38:05Speaker 28: simple is the key to success in a lot of
- 38:08Speaker 28: this when you're so crowded and there's so much else
- 38:10Speaker 28: going on.
- 38:11Speaker 2: So Goodwill Duncan rated high in the AD meter, and
- 38:16Speaker 2: it was funny, but the only thing I could think is, Man,
- 38:19Speaker 2: this commercial costs a lot of money with all these
- 38:21Speaker 2: stars in it.
- 38:23Speaker 28: Yeah, And honestly, that's one that kind of breaks the
- 38:25Speaker 28: keep it simple rule. Yes, they had so much going on,
- 38:29Speaker 28: and I think they tend to stand out in the
- 38:32Speaker 28: AD meter because everybody knows Duncan, they know Ben Affleck,
- 38:35Speaker 28: they get the Boston thing, and they've kind of been
- 38:37Speaker 28: riding on that for a little while. But they've done
- 38:39Speaker 28: better ads in previous years that were just easier to follow.
- 38:43Speaker 28: I think last night it wasn't that they had too
- 38:46Speaker 28: many celebrities, it was that it was confusing what they
- 38:49Speaker 28: were all doing together. They just stuck to the either
- 38:52Speaker 28: goodwill hunting gag and only done that. But then they
- 38:56Speaker 28: threw in the nineties sitcoms and they had a verbal
- 39:00Speaker 28: explanation at the beginning, trying and explain what was going on.
- 39:03Speaker 28: I was like, if you got to explain it and
- 39:05Speaker 28: I got to read something, I'm not sure we're as
- 39:08Speaker 28: successful as we need to be.
- 39:10Speaker 2: You know, the thing I talk about every year is
- 39:13Speaker 2: all of these productions and these huge productions and the
- 39:17Speaker 2: ad finishes and you go.
- 39:20Speaker 1: What were they advertising?
- 39:21Speaker 5: Again?
- 39:22Speaker 1: I don't think anybody wants that.
- 39:24Speaker 28: Nobody, Yes, you're right, nobody wants that. And you know,
- 39:27Speaker 28: you do these big productions so much. The real story
- 39:31Speaker 28: of the Super Bowl isn't just the super Bowl anymore.
- 39:34Speaker 28: It's the brands start releasing teasers and spots starting way
- 39:39Speaker 28: in January, so you're not just paying for thirty seconds
- 39:42Speaker 28: of time anymore. You're getting the bang for your buck
- 39:45Speaker 28: from everything leading up to that. That's why we do
- 39:47Speaker 28: see so many celebrities and you see so many you know,
- 39:52Speaker 28: so much investment, and you cut it up and you
- 39:54Speaker 28: put it everywhere later.
- 39:55Speaker 1: But yeah, I.
- 39:56Speaker 28: Think the biggest culprit of what you're talking about was
- 39:59Speaker 28: the coinbase that used the Backstreet Boys song for thirty
- 40:02Speaker 28: seconds and then just threw the logo up at the end,
- 40:04Speaker 28: and you kind of had no idea what you were
- 40:07Speaker 28: looking at or why.
- 40:07Speaker 27: You were seeing it.
- 40:09Speaker 28: And maybe if you're a Backstreet Boys fan you were
- 40:11Speaker 28: paying attention, but other than that, it was that was
- 40:13Speaker 28: one of my big fails from last night.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Do you ever any idea or guesses what the most
- 40:18Speaker 2: expensive production was for a commercial last night?
- 40:23Speaker 27: That's a great question.
- 40:24Speaker 28: I think a lot of it sometimes is about the
- 40:27Speaker 28: length of the spots. Yeah, so if you're buying a
- 40:30Speaker 28: sixty second or a ninety second ad, those are already
- 40:33Speaker 28: going to be some of your most expensive. I would
- 40:36Speaker 28: venture to bet the duncan Ad could have been one
- 40:39Speaker 28: of the most expensive simply because it had so many celebrities.
- 40:43Speaker 28: But I think they only bought a thirty second spot,
- 40:45Speaker 28: so it might have come down from there.
- 40:48Speaker 27: I think probably could be surprising.
- 40:50Speaker 28: Some of the music tracks John bon Jovi State Farm
- 40:53Speaker 28: I think could have been one of the more expensive
- 40:55Speaker 28: because it was a really long spot John bon Jovi track,
- 40:59Speaker 28: and they had a decent number of celebrities in it too,
- 41:02Speaker 28: so that one could have also been pretty up.
- 41:04Speaker 1: To Jurassic Park expensive to me.
- 41:07Speaker 28: Oh yeah, you're yep, You're right about that. I think
- 41:10Speaker 28: that one was probably quite expensive too, because you had
- 41:12Speaker 28: to get licensing rights from Jurassic Park and Spielberg and
- 41:16Speaker 28: all of the celeb talent.
- 41:18Speaker 27: And using the clips from there from the film itself.
- 41:20Speaker 28: Yeah, that one that one's probably up there, and it
- 41:23Speaker 28: was a long spot.
- 41:23Speaker 27: I think it was a success.
- 41:24Speaker 2: So yeah, I like Pringloo. I like the Sabrina Carpenter.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I knew what they were advertising. I thought it was
- 41:30Speaker 2: pretty clever.
- 41:32Speaker 27: Yeah, I thought that one was really cute.
- 41:34Speaker 28: I think it was a really good use of a
- 41:35Speaker 28: younger up and coming celeb too. She's sort of like
- 41:39Speaker 28: really gotten famous in the last two years, and so
- 41:41Speaker 28: it's nice to see new faces and sort of see
- 41:43Speaker 28: that too, and kind of leaned into her persona and again,
- 41:48Speaker 28: just really simple and funny, and as you said, Pringles.
- 41:52Speaker 27: Was all over it. See you weren't mistaking what it
- 41:54Speaker 27: was for.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I'll in with this.
- 41:55Speaker 2: You work in the business, so when you're watching all
- 41:58Speaker 2: of these, I know there are times you, oh, wow,
- 42:00Speaker 2: that was clever. I wish I would have thought of that,
- 42:02Speaker 2: or boy, was that a huge waste of money?
- 42:06Speaker 27: Yes?
- 42:06Speaker 28: I think I think both things, and you know, always
- 42:08Speaker 28: trying to trying to learn from from everybody. I think
- 42:11Speaker 28: the Jurassic Park spot you mentioned, that's the one where
- 42:13Speaker 28: I go, how in the heck did they pull that off?
- 42:15Speaker 28: Because it's so it's so much going on in it,
- 42:19Speaker 28: and everybody loves Jurassic Park. That's one where I'm jealous of.
- 42:22Speaker 28: And you know, I always think too, when the ads
- 42:25Speaker 28: are good for anybody, it does better for me. I'm
- 42:27Speaker 28: in the ad business, so if the ad business is
- 42:29Speaker 28: doing good, I'm doing good.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Stevie Archer with M and C. Sacha.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Stevie, thank you so much for the time. Really appreciate it.
- 42:38Speaker 27: Awesome. Thanks for having me.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Right and I know you have your own faves.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Maybe we'll have some time with the writers coming up
- 42:49Speaker 2: here in a few minutes to talk about that. I'm
- 42:52Speaker 2: finally I'm geek because I'm finally getting some ski jumping.
- 42:56Speaker 2: I've been asking for like five days where is ski jumping?
- 43:00Speaker 2: But we've got ski jumping on now and I like that.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Those people are nuts.
- 43:04Speaker 1: All Right, We're gonna take a break, We're gonna come back.

- 44:17Speaker 8: Radio here Amazone.
- 44:24Speaker 16: Now do you promise now?
- 44:28Speaker 29: Those first three songs, Those first three songs were dedicated
- 44:32Speaker 29: to Johnny Carson, Randy Parr and Earl Wilson.
- 44:38Speaker 30: I'm introducing the Beatles again.
- 44:40Speaker 21: May I point out that they'll be on our show,
- 44:41Speaker 21: as I told our audience for the next two Sunday,
- 44:43Speaker 21: next Sunday from the Doville Hotel and Lama Beach Show
- 44:45Speaker 21: starring Hollywood's exciting Mitchie Gaynor, Ladies and gentlemen.
- 45:00Speaker 12: Jean, you know what I mean. The way was way
- 45:07Speaker 12: beyond well see.
- 45:24Speaker 2: February ninth, nineteen sixty four Beatlemania. But Dad, sixty two
- 45:32Speaker 2: years later, still going glad to have you with us,
- 45:38Speaker 2: Thanks for being here on a Monday. The Writers' roundtable
- 45:41Speaker 2: is coming up. Talking hoops, Aggie basketball disappointing obviously Saturday night,
- 45:50Speaker 2: but man, let's say good basketball team and I lost
- 45:53Speaker 2: to and obviously didn't play their best. I thought Florida
- 45:56Speaker 2: had a lot to do with that. Bucky was talking
- 45:59Speaker 2: about shooting. Obviously, the shooting was terrible the first half especially.
- 46:05Speaker 2: I thought A and m russiam shots. Yes, there were
- 46:08Speaker 2: some shots that they normally would have made, but I
- 46:13Speaker 2: thought the shot selection wasn't great. I thought a lot
- 46:16Speaker 2: of the threes were hurried, And again I thought Florida
- 46:21Speaker 2: had a lot to do with that, let's hear from
- 46:24Speaker 2: Marcus Hill who had seventeen and Pop Isaac's who had seventeen.
- 46:30Speaker 29: You just kind of take us through that ten minute
- 46:32Speaker 29: stretch in the first half or you guys.
- 46:34Speaker 5: Just weren't able to make shots.
- 46:35Speaker 29: Just what was the feeling on the court and just
- 46:37Speaker 29: kind of why you.
- 46:38Speaker 6: Feel like you guys were having such trouble.
- 46:41Speaker 31: Just you know, a bad office. I feel like those
- 46:44Speaker 31: shots we usually make, you know, we held them down.
- 46:47Speaker 31: You know during that time you just shots didn't fall,
- 46:50Speaker 31: you know.
- 46:55Speaker 29: Yeah, I guess just to that point, you know, you
- 46:59Speaker 29: guys knew that their size was going to be something
- 47:01Speaker 29: to to what look out for. Just how challenging was
- 47:05Speaker 29: it and just kind of how you guys maybe felt
- 47:07Speaker 29: like y'all weren't able to finish as well up around.
- 47:12Speaker 31: Yeah, we knew that they had size. Like I was saying,
- 47:15Speaker 31: I feel like it was just us. I don't feel
- 47:17Speaker 31: like it was a side that affected us. I feel
- 47:19Speaker 31: like it was just us.
- 47:20Speaker 11: You know, a bad day in office.
- 47:22Speaker 32: Where did go ahead on any thoughts on you know,
- 47:28Speaker 32: what problem was it? Just do you just look at
- 47:30Speaker 32: this say, hey, sometimes you have to bad night? Was
- 47:32Speaker 32: it the maybe y'all a little bit over hyped up
- 47:36Speaker 32: for the game, or you know what, what do you
- 47:37Speaker 32: think might have been? If any theory, what why y'all
- 47:41Speaker 32: didn't shoot as well as you typically do.
- 47:44Speaker 31: I don't feel like it was we were over hyped.
- 47:46Speaker 31: I feel like like it was just at an off day.
- 47:48Speaker 31: You know, this is rare for us to miss that
- 47:52Speaker 31: many shots. So, like I was saying, I feel like, yeah,
- 47:56Speaker 31: we weren't overhyped. We were steady. Coach kept on us
- 47:58Speaker 31: to be steady. So don't feel like it was that.
- 48:02Speaker 16: What did coach tell you all at halftime?
- 48:06Speaker 11: Excuse me? I mean, just.
- 48:09Speaker 10: To stay with it. We were honestly playing good defense
- 48:13Speaker 10: in the first half. Like that was that wasn't the problem. Uh,
- 48:16Speaker 10: we weren't making shots, we weren't getting clean looks.
- 48:19Speaker 11: Just stay with it, you know, we gotta fight harder.
- 48:22Speaker 10: Kind of had some self explanatory mistakes that we usually
- 48:26Speaker 10: don't make in our press and just guarding the ball
- 48:29Speaker 10: and stuff like that. So he was just telling us
- 48:31Speaker 10: to stay with it. Uh, we were playing our we
- 48:33Speaker 10: were playing super hard in the first half. Shots just
- 48:36Speaker 10: weren't falling.
- 48:38Speaker 17: Oh what, Uh, there's maybe one area from the night.
- 48:40Speaker 11: That kind of sticks with you that you guys wish
- 48:42Speaker 11: you guys did better honestly, just everything probably just you know, uh.
- 48:54Speaker 10: Figuring out ways to uh honestly score the ball when
- 48:58Speaker 10: probably when you know our reason.
- 49:00Speaker 11: Aren't falling like that. We know they're not gonna fall
- 49:02Speaker 11: every night.
- 49:03Speaker 10: You got to figure out other ways to score, get
- 49:05Speaker 10: more movement on offense. Uh, we were a little stackned
- 49:09Speaker 10: at that first half for sure. I think at times
- 49:11Speaker 10: in the second half we did a better job.
- 49:14Speaker 11: Yeah, same thing.
- 49:16Speaker 17: What would you say kind of the messages with you
- 49:18Speaker 17: guys around the team just after a loss like this,
- 49:21Speaker 17: especially after you all this plays as well.
- 49:23Speaker 10: Yeah, we've been through adversity. Earlier in the year, we
- 49:27Speaker 10: lost two in a row. You know, nobody thought we
- 49:30Speaker 10: would be in the position we're in right now whatever whatever,
- 49:34Speaker 10: seven and three in the SEC through ten games, So
- 49:36Speaker 10: you know, we've gone through this before.
- 49:39Speaker 11: Now it's just in the SEC. So it's you know,
- 49:41Speaker 11: it's it's.
- 49:41Speaker 10: More important obviously, But at the end of the day,
- 49:44Speaker 10: I mean, we got got some tough games coming up
- 49:47Speaker 10: and we got a chance to you know, redeem ourselves,
- 49:49Speaker 10: and you know, it's it's further, it's the first.
- 49:52Speaker 11: Thing from the end.
- 49:52Speaker 10: Obviously, it was a bad night tonight, But I believe
- 49:54Speaker 10: in this team.
- 49:55Speaker 11: We did a really good job staying together.
- 49:57Speaker 10: Earlier in the year when we went through that adversity
- 50:00Speaker 10: we lost those two games and we lost the SMU.
- 50:02Speaker 10: You know, got our stuff together, and I have no
- 50:04Speaker 10: doubt in this team that you know, we'll stick together
- 50:06Speaker 10: through this and find our swagger back.
- 50:09Speaker 15: Marcus obviously is running a little hot there at the end.
- 50:13Speaker 15: What did you see out of that?
- 50:14Speaker 16: And I mean to.
- 50:16Speaker 15: Play into that how this game played out, Maybe the intensity.
- 50:19Speaker 31: At all, I ain't see it, so I don't know
- 50:23Speaker 31: what happened just walking off.
- 50:25Speaker 16: What was the what was that feeling?
- 50:27Speaker 15: I guess you know, obviously the stakes were so high
- 50:29Speaker 15: for both teams, but that feeling throughout the game of
- 50:32Speaker 15: the intense sees.
- 50:34Speaker 31: It was a good competition, you know, So I feel
- 50:37Speaker 31: like it was just we were competing, say for real.
- 50:41Speaker 2: For real, they were competing for real, and you know what,
- 50:47Speaker 2: they're down twenty eight, They're still competing. They're down at
- 50:51Speaker 2: the end, they're still pressing.
- 50:53Speaker 1: So you know, you.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Gotta love this team. They're not gonna quit what they're doing.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Teams may want them to quit what they're doing. They
- 51:02Speaker 2: are not going to quit what they're doing. And I
- 51:06Speaker 2: thought that was impressive. And you know, Rashan ag which
- 51:11Speaker 2: we knew he was going to battle, he was in
- 51:14Speaker 2: the midst of a forest, he still came up with
- 51:18Speaker 2: eleven boards, right, four offensive boards, eleven boards in there
- 51:25Speaker 2: amongst the trees you get Hawk and Condon and Chinulu.
- 51:32Speaker 2: My gosh, there there are some large men in there.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Ruben Chinulou had sixteen boards. Now, there were a lot
- 51:41Speaker 2: of rebounds available, especially in the first half with like
- 51:47Speaker 2: when you missed like twenty two to twenty three shots
- 51:49Speaker 2: in a row, there's a lot of available rebounds. But
- 51:54Speaker 2: this kid, everybody said, is saying that he could be
- 52:00Speaker 2: the defensive player of the year in college basketball. At
- 52:04Speaker 2: ten points, sixteen boards. He's a beast in there. And
- 52:10Speaker 2: this is a really, really good basketball team. And it'll
- 52:15Speaker 2: be interesting to see as we watch all this, you know,
- 52:20Speaker 2: going forward. Let me see, because I mentioned this earlier.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Tomorrow in the league is tomorrow is Vanderbilt at Auburn.
- 52:36Speaker 2: The Commoders start at what's sixteen and oh, and now
- 52:41Speaker 2: they're three and four in their last seven games.
- 52:43Speaker 5: I believe.
- 52:47Speaker 2: They are at Auburn, very difficult place to play. Talented team.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Arkansas is at LSU. Florida and Georgia have a rematch
- 53:00Speaker 2: on Wednesday night. That's the early game at six o'clock,
- 53:05Speaker 2: and of course that is a rivalry game. So back
- 53:11Speaker 2: to backers for Florida on the road. But I I
- 53:17Speaker 2: don't really like George. Oh he's way down the hill.
- 53:22Speaker 2: He is way down the hill. So we got that
- 53:27Speaker 2: going on for us, which is nice. He's landing in
- 53:30Speaker 2: the bushes. Well, it wasn't as far as I thought
- 53:36Speaker 2: one hundred meters. He wasn't as far as I thought. Okay, Florida, Georgia,
- 53:41Speaker 2: Alabama's at Ole, miss Tennessee's at Mississippi State and missouris
- 53:46Speaker 2: to day. And then by the way, Kentucky has become
- 53:50Speaker 2: Tennessee's white whale. They coughed up another lead. I watched
- 53:53Speaker 2: that game on Saturday and seventy four to seventy one
- 53:59Speaker 2: the final Chandler hit a huge three point shot at
