• 0:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds crazy.
• 0:49
[SPEAKER_00]: You all remember why 2K?
• 0:51
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what it was about to turn from 1999 to 2000.
• 0:54
[SPEAKER_00]: People thought the world was going to end.
• 0:57
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just crazy to me to think about the fact that it's been 25 years since that time.
• 1:02
[SPEAKER_00]: But I know this year you're going to have an awesome year.
• 1:05
[SPEAKER_00]: I know this year that you have made you set goals.
• 1:09
[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that I'm doing now is
• 1:14
  [SPEAKER_00]: make resolutions.
• 1:15
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm setting goals.
• 1:17
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to get better.
• 1:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to do better.
• 1:19
[SPEAKER_00]: This year I hit a significant birthday.
• 1:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll let you know about that as we get closer to March 28.
• 1:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and write that down.
• 1:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: Grow Squat.
• 1:26
[SPEAKER_00]: My birthday is March 28th.
• 1:28
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a milestone birthday.
• 1:31
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about that a little bit later on.
• 1:32
  [SPEAKER_00]: Hope you're doing well.
• 1:33
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for joining in.
• 1:35

[SPEAKER_00]: So you're no exactly when I drop a new episode, we're going to be doing more reals, all kinds of things are happening.
• 1:54
[SPEAKER_00]: As you move forward, more engagement, more content, more importantly, a better you for 22,000, 225.
• 2:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's pray and get moving today.
• 2:03
[SPEAKER_00]: God, we thank you for a new year.
• 2:05
  [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for life.
• 2:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for doing for us, what we can't do for ourselves.
• 2:10
[SPEAKER_00]: And let's keep our breath in our lungs, keeping us moving forward and doing those things that we will want to do.
• 2:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I pray now that you bless us, our time together, we pray that it will be fruitful, may we grow, may we expand and continue to move forward and grow in you in your name, amen.
• 2:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Today, we're talking a little bit about this whole idea of transformation.
• 2:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it's talking about what it really means for you and what it means for you gene for me to transform my life in 2025.
• 2:47
[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things I've been doing lately, if you follow me on any of the social platforms, I'm at Eugene, Jay Hamilton.
• 2:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I am holding myself accountable, check this out.
• 3:01
  [SPEAKER_00]: with my health.
• 3:03
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's becoming more important to me as I'm getting older and as I watch my son who will be four next month.
• 3:12
[SPEAKER_00]: This is so wild for me.
• 3:14
[SPEAKER_00]: He'll be four years old next month.
• 3:15
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm saying to myself, I want to be around when he's 14.
• 3:18
  [SPEAKER_00]: I want to be around when he's 24.
• 3:21
[SPEAKER_00]: So what is the key to that?
• 3:22
  [SPEAKER_00]: Transformation.
• 3:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Transformation doesn't just mean I'm loving up with the right, as it relates to your money.
• 3:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I know that oftentimes we think about leveling up, getting the bag, getting more streams of income, all that has its place, but if you don't have health, you can't even enjoy wealth.
• 3:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Here what I'm saying, if you don't have health, you can't enjoy those streams and different things that are coming your way, which I know you're working hard to ward.
• 3:53
[SPEAKER_00]: But what does transformation look like for you this year?
• 3:58
[SPEAKER_00]: And some of you already have a handle on your health.
• 4:01
[SPEAKER_00]: So transformation for you may not be in that category.
• 4:05
  [SPEAKER_00]: What about your character?
• 4:07
[SPEAKER_00]: What about keeping your word?
• 4:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Transformation, listen, one of the things that blew my mind in 2024 and that really taught me that I could do hard things.
• 4:18
  [SPEAKER_00]: was I finished my children's book.
• 4:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Now for you, that's like, that's kids play.
• 4:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: I kid you not.
• 4:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Writing it down, getting the illustrator together, the publishing process, all of that, I had to dig really deep to stick with it.
• 4:36
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no.
• 4:37
[SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to give up when things get hard.
• 4:40
[SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to say, you know what?
• 4:41
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll get back to it later and I suffered from that syndrome in 2023.
• 4:47
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't just start the book last year.
• 4:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I began the journey of writing that children's book in 2023, and I put it down so many times, because they got hard.
• 5:01
[SPEAKER_00]: the process of securing the right person to put together my go-go-go concept to illustrate and bring the life of my words in picture form.
• 5:12
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, man, is it that difficult?
• 5:13
  [SPEAKER_00]: I can't find the right person.
• 5:15
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give back to it next time.
• 5:16
[SPEAKER_00]: And next time, turn it into next month.
• 5:18
[SPEAKER_00]: And next month, turn it into two months.
• 5:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And before long, it was 2024 and I said, you know what?
• 5:23
  [SPEAKER_00]: No.
• 5:25
[SPEAKER_00]: I've got to do this.
• 5:27
[SPEAKER_00]: Transformation for me, in 2024, looked like learning how to keep my word, not to you.
• 5:35
[SPEAKER_00]: I love you to death.
• 5:36
[SPEAKER_00]: But not keeping my word to my family, not keeping my word to those who are partying with, I'm trying to, my transformation in 2024, started with me learning how to keep my word to myself.
• 5:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody made me write a book.
• 5:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody said you have to put this out.
• 5:56
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody said that you have to, you know, all of a sudden you've never written a book before.
• 6:01
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know many authors that look like me.
• 6:04
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I've seen stuff on the books up, but I'm saying personally, I don't know very many authors, but I want to do this.
• 6:12
[SPEAKER_00]: I made a commitment to doing it.
• 6:16
  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's done.
• 6:17
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, you can go to Eugene Hamilton dot org right now.
• 6:20
  [SPEAKER_00]: Click the menu tab.
• 6:21
[SPEAKER_00]: It says new children's book.
• 6:23
[SPEAKER_00]: You can order your copies now.
• 6:25
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, one of the things that is interesting for me, book orders went out over the Christmas holidays.
• 6:30
[SPEAKER_00]: People were buying them for gifts for their kids.
• 6:32
[SPEAKER_00]: And one thing that was, it was bothering, not bothering me, but I was wondering, I said, man, I'm not getting very many reviews in terms of people responding back and saying, hey, do
• 6:42
[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, you know what, that's not, it's not on that miss.
• 6:44
[SPEAKER_00]: All me, let me check back in and this week, last week, I've been checking in and see how people have been liking the books and I've gotten ready for views.
• 6:55
[SPEAKER_00]: This year, transformation doesn't look like keeping my word to myself.
• 7:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Transformation for me this year looks like getting my health in check.
• 7:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Transformation for you this year.
• 7:12
  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where it lies.
• 7:13
[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things I've discovered, one of the things that I have come to grips with because I've tried every single not every single.
• 7:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I need to tell the truth.
• 7:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I've tried a lot of different programs.
• 7:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: fitness programs.
• 7:27
[SPEAKER_00]: And I've had major success.
• 7:29
  [SPEAKER_00]: You know this.
• 7:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I did a whole YouTube live about six months ago about how at one point in my life I lost one hundred pounds with no surgery, with no peels, natural way, eating clean, working out twice a day.
• 7:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Now somebody asked me, how are you working out twice a day?
• 7:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: You wouldn't in NFL.
• 7:45
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, no, but I wasn't married and had no kids either.
• 7:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
• 7:49
[SPEAKER_00]: So I had a little more extra down time and so I spent that down time not eating popcorn and pizza on the couch anymore.
• 7:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I said let me spend my down time in the gym.
• 7:58
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's how I lost 100 pounds seems like forever ago, but it was probably around the year 2011.
• 8:06
  [SPEAKER_00]: So I know how.
• 8:09
[SPEAKER_00]: I know what it takes.
• 8:11
[SPEAKER_00]: The first thing it took for me and the first thing is going to take for you to change your life and to stick to your commitments this year as you're going to have to get mentally disciplined.
• 8:29
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything, I believe, that has staying power in your life.
• 8:34
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything that you actually are able to create, everything that you actually are able to bring to life, everything that you actually are able to bring from zero to 100.
• 8:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything you are able to bring from idea to real life begins this way.
• 8:47
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be disciplined enough to see the process through.
• 8:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Had a conversation with my wife and I said, maybe you know real life, you realize for the past three years.
• 8:59
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it's about September, October, I've lost 35 pounds every single year.
• 9:06
[SPEAKER_00]: from September to October, all of us up my brain clicks in.
• 9:09
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I think I'm getting a head start on the holidays.
• 9:12
  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is.
• 9:13
[SPEAKER_00]: I know one year, I do know what one year was.
• 9:15
[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to fit a certain suit.
• 9:16
[SPEAKER_00]: And I had to lose a few pounds to get it.
• 9:19
[SPEAKER_00]: But I said for the 2021, I'm sorry, 2021, 2021, 2021, and 24, I lost 30 pounds from September to the beginning of November, every single year.
• 9:32
[SPEAKER_00]: And by the time January one hits, I got the 30 pounds back and more.
• 9:38
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm saying to myself, what's going to change this year?
• 9:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: Discipline?
• 9:45
[SPEAKER_00]: What's going to change this year?
• 9:48
  [SPEAKER_00]: Transformation?
• 9:49
[SPEAKER_00]: What's going to change this year?
• 9:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Me committing and making a mental, not emotional.
• 9:58
[SPEAKER_00]: because you know this as well as I know this, our emotions sometimes play tricks on us.
• 10:05
[SPEAKER_00]: One day we're filling up, that's why if you're gonna commit to a goal, you cannot depend on your emotions, you cannot depend on your feelings.
• 10:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Because this morning I woke up, I promise you, I don't even have an alarm clock anymore.
• 10:17
[SPEAKER_00]: I woke up at 337 AM this morning.
• 10:19
[SPEAKER_00]: I did not feel like getting out of bed.
• 10:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Hear me out, don't let your feelings lead you and guide you.
• 10:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I did, I felt like rolling back over, putting the pillow over my head and sleeping to 6.30.
• 10:35
  [SPEAKER_00]: But I made a commitment.
• 10:39
  [SPEAKER_00]: I made a decision.
• 10:42
[SPEAKER_00]: I got up, got to the gym, did what I had to do, and even when I got to the people with all oftentimes, I hear people say this, half the battle just showing up, yeah, on some days, I promise you, when I got in the gym this morning, if my mind was not made up, I don't care how long it took me to get to that gym, I would have turned around and went back home, because I just didn't feel it this morning.
• 11:11
[SPEAKER_00]: So I've tried different diet diets.
• 11:14
[SPEAKER_00]: I've tried different programs with it, with God to working out and fitness.
• 11:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: I've never had a trainer.
• 11:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I had a trainer when I lost 100 pounds for like the first two days, just to kind of help me put some things in place.
• 11:28
[SPEAKER_00]: But I saw that man, I just buckled now.
• 11:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Never had a workout partner.
• 11:33
[SPEAKER_00]: Never had a really an accountability partner.
• 11:37
[SPEAKER_00]: I just got after me.
• 11:40
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm saying to myself, this year, Eugene, you know what works.
• 11:45
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the Akins diet.
• 11:47
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the keto diet.
• 11:49
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not whatever this diet and that is not what works is.
• 11:54
  [SPEAKER_00]: Check this out.
• 11:55
[SPEAKER_00]: This is my word for the year.
• 11:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what your word is for the year.
• 11:59
[SPEAKER_00]: My word for the year.
• 12:00
[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing that works is consistency.
• 12:06
[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing that works, the only thing that keeps you showing up every single day.
• 12:12
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, is the word commitment.
• 12:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when you commit it, you're going to be consistent, right?
• 12:20
[SPEAKER_00]: But the word that I wanted to lean into really was the word commitment, because I made a commitment to myself to be consistent.
• 12:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: That makes sense.
• 12:27
  [SPEAKER_00]: Hope it does.
• 12:29
  [SPEAKER_00]: Since you're thinking about
• 12:32
[SPEAKER_00]: in what area of your life you want to transform this year and I want you to get over the fear of failure, want you to get over, um, biting off a big chunk and thinking to yourself, oh, wow, I'm gonna, I'm gonna plummet down, no, no, no, I want you to get over that hurdle that's in your mind.
• 12:48
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's in your head.
• 12:49
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's in your head.
• 12:50
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's in your head.
• 12:51
[SPEAKER_00]: I say it one more time.
• 12:52
  [SPEAKER_00]: If you listen
• 13:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Stop being paralyzed by mediocrity.
• 13:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Stop being paralyzed and rock to sleep by your comfort zone.
• 13:09
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I've been reposting this for like the past week.
• 13:13
[SPEAKER_00]: The worst addiction, I forgot who had it on their platform.
• 13:16
[SPEAKER_00]: It was on Instagram and so I snagged a quote.
• 13:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I snagged the post and I started reposting that bad boy.
• 13:26
[SPEAKER_00]: The worst addiction is comfort.
• 13:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, yeah, there's a lot of addictions in this world.
• 13:36
[SPEAKER_00]: People who are addicted to drugs, people who are addicted to sugar, people who are addicted to whatever.
• 13:43
[SPEAKER_00]: But the worst kind of addiction is comfort.
• 13:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it leads to what we just described.
• 13:52
[SPEAKER_00]: I can get comfortable with my sugar addiction and think it's not gonna happen.
• 13:55
[SPEAKER_00]: If this gonna happen to me, I think that I'm Iron Man.
• 14:00
[SPEAKER_00]: People get comfortable with their drug addiction and thinking that, oh, they're not going to pass away from a heart attack like the next person.
• 14:07
[SPEAKER_00]: People get comfortable with whatever it is.
• 14:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Comfort is the worst addiction.
• 14:14
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's don't get comfortable.
• 14:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying to myself, and you're just listening to this conversation and having with myself right now in this moment, Eugene, say your name, my name is Eugene.
• 14:27
  [SPEAKER_00]: Eugene, don't get comfortable.
• 14:32
[SPEAKER_00]: This year we're going up y'all, whatever that looks like for you, whatever transformation looks like for you, this year we've got to stop talking about it and we've got to start being about it.
• 14:42
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, my boy, and I say he's my boy, I've never met him in my life, but I admire his work, Trent Shelton said this, listen to his podcast every day, he said, listen, when you think about all the things that you and I can be committed to.
• 14:57
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got to learn, and I'm paraphrasing, we've got to learn how to be committed to yourself to ourselves first before I can make a commitment to somebody else.
• 15:08
[SPEAKER_00]: So this year, I'm encouraging you, stay committed.
• 15:14
[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna get hard, but stay committed.
• 15:17
[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna get difficult, but stay committed and I promise you, you'll be better for it.
• 15:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you will share this episode with somebody.
• 15:25
[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that you will share this episode on your platforms.
• 15:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much again for your support.
• 15:30
  [SPEAKER_00]: Please support your boy.
• 15:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a first time author.
• 15:32
  [SPEAKER_00]: Go to EugeneHamerton.org.
• 15:34
[SPEAKER_00]: Click that new children's book tab and get your Amazon as well.
• 15:38
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me give you a little snippet.
• 15:39
[SPEAKER_00]: It's on Amazon, but it's $5 more on Amazon.
• 15:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so you go Amazon.
• 15:45
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's bear as well.
• 15:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank for those that support on Amazon.
• 15:47
[SPEAKER_00]: It was number one in the new children's book section about three weeks ago.
• 15:51
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for your support there, but also my website gives me a little more in your face support as I move forward and do what I can to support young people in those around the world.
• 16:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this week don't forget to go.
• 16:03
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget to grow and don't forget to glow.
• 16:06
  [SPEAKER_00]: God bless you.
• 16:06
  [SPEAKER_00]: Take care.
• 16:07
  [SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
