- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, what are boxing fans. This is the Rope Adobe
- 0:05Speaker 1: Radio Podcast. I am your House Chris Carlson. We are
- 0:08Speaker 1: live on a Thursday, late afternoon. Life got in the
- 0:12Speaker 1: way Tuesday. You know, you know the drill. All right,
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm going to talk a little recap. I'm not going
- 0:17Speaker 1: to get too detailed just because it is Thursday. We're
- 0:20Speaker 1: like almost a week removed from these fights. I will
- 0:25Speaker 1: be breaking down the Kyaso Oscar cayazovis in fight. I
- 0:32Speaker 1: thought that was very good. There were some other good
- 0:34Speaker 1: performance as well that we'll talk about preview. What is
- 0:38Speaker 1: uh kind of well light weekend. You know, from here
- 0:43Speaker 1: on out, it's kind of hit or miss. Sometimes it
- 0:46Speaker 1: hits and it hits hard sometimes eh. But you know,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we'll see how these fights go this weekend. There is
- 0:52Speaker 1: some action though. There are some closely matched fights. Betting
- 0:57Speaker 1: odds wise and all that. We have as far as
- 1:01Speaker 1: fight news and some boxing Twitter stuff. We do have
- 1:04Speaker 1: the official rules in location. Since the last time we
- 1:09Speaker 1: spoke for a Tank and Jake, I'll get my thoughts
- 1:13Speaker 1: on that. I did get some messages in my last
- 1:17Speaker 1: show and I said, Texas or Florida, dude, it's not
- 1:22Speaker 1: that hard. You know, it's not. It's it's just not
- 1:25Speaker 1: that hard to figure out that it was either gonna
- 1:28Speaker 1: be Florida or Texas. It is Miami. Like I said,
- 1:31Speaker 1: we do have some rules. We do have some rules
- 1:38Speaker 1: out there. They had a press conference. To be honest
- 1:40Speaker 1: with you, I haven't even watched it yet. I haven't
- 1:43Speaker 1: even watched it yet. I haven't heard that many great
- 1:48Speaker 1: things about it. To be honest with you, I do
- 1:53Speaker 1: want to follow up. I got some questions last week
- 1:59Speaker 1: John Mensh the Tom Brown letter, and so I want
- 2:03Speaker 1: to give my thoughts on that, and just overall, now
- 2:05Speaker 1: we have a little bit more information speaking of uh
- 2:09Speaker 1: the ubo zoof of boxing, as far as their dates,
- 2:13Speaker 1: the number of fighters that they plan on having in
- 2:18Speaker 1: Tom Brown, you know, PBC what we're there. You know,
- 2:22Speaker 1: are they going to go it alone or are they
- 2:24Speaker 1: going to join up or you know, if you haven't
- 2:28Speaker 1: read an article on Bronch Bronze Brunch Boxing website about
- 2:35Speaker 1: this exact thing, you should go check it out. I'm
- 2:38Speaker 1: gonna kind of highlight a couple of parts of the article,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but you should definitely check it out. It's really interesting
- 2:47Speaker 1: and well done by Matt Brown as always well written,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and uh yeah, it makes some points. I mean, I
- 2:55Speaker 1: can understand you know why the w B A and
- 2:59Speaker 1: and I'm sure other will follow potentially anyway, unless they
- 3:02Speaker 1: really really like a fighter like Benavidez or whatever, they're
- 3:08Speaker 1: gonna be mad or whatever that if they go it
- 3:12Speaker 1: alone or whatever. But you know, the corruption level in
- 3:20Speaker 1: the rankings and just it's it's, you know, like it's
- 3:28Speaker 1: it's interesting because he's like, all right, dude, go with
- 3:31Speaker 1: them after we helped you. Okay, cool. But like pretty
- 3:36Speaker 1: much everyone's rankings can be well, every every sanctioning belt
- 3:42Speaker 1: ranking the four anyway can be criticized heavily. It depends
- 3:48Speaker 1: on the weight class, of course, but the fact that
- 3:51Speaker 1: they don't you know, rank other champions almost invalidates it
- 3:56Speaker 1: right there. In fact, I think it does technically. But
- 4:01Speaker 1: on the flip side, you know, the sanction belts are
- 4:05Speaker 1: so you know, built into boxing, so we can, as
- 4:12Speaker 1: fans or media members or whatever say stuff right about them.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And it's true, but fighters, managers, promoters, networks, platforms, they
- 4:25Speaker 1: all love to say title fight. And when someone's worked
- 4:29Speaker 1: their whole career like a boxer, they like the titles.
- 4:33Speaker 1: They do like the titles, you know, so there's no
- 4:36Speaker 1: getting around that. But I've always said that really they
- 4:41Speaker 1: just need some sort of super supervision, you know, some
- 4:47Speaker 1: sort of committee, some sort of regulatory basically like something
- 4:52Speaker 1: with teeth to regulate supervise oversea. Now, how does that
- 4:59Speaker 1: committee get chose, right, and who's who's choosing who's in it. Yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 1: there's room for corruption right there, of course, But like ultimately,
- 5:10Speaker 1: if you want to improve boxing, that's what they need,
- 5:12Speaker 1: something with teeth, you know. So I don't think this
- 5:18Speaker 1: this new ALIAC is gonna say boxing, you know. And
- 5:23Speaker 1: if t k O and you know, or Zoofa and
- 5:27Speaker 1: ring with Turkey, if they end up, you know, with
- 5:33Speaker 1: this power move and it and it works out. You know,
- 5:37Speaker 1: Turkey overpays the fighters, UFC underpays if you if you
- 5:45Speaker 1: base it off the revenue, so you know. But I
- 5:50Speaker 1: do want to give some thoughts about the letter in
- 5:53Speaker 1: support of it and what that possibly could mean, and
- 5:57Speaker 1: in some points and counterpoints, because like I said, some
- 6:00Speaker 1: of the medical stuff is just window dressing. It's a
- 6:03Speaker 1: little better, but if you have serious issues from a fight,
- 6:07Speaker 1: it's still not going to help you. Really, you can
- 6:10Speaker 1: make an argument with an extra paramedic? Is it is
- 6:16Speaker 1: it an extra ambulance too? I can't remember anyway, you
- 6:20Speaker 1: can make an argument there could be something there, but
- 6:24Speaker 1: you could also say that it's it's really just it's
- 6:31Speaker 1: basically what the UFC was able to pass in New
- 6:33Speaker 1: York as well, where they're set up to do it
- 6:40Speaker 1: better quicker now. I mean, it's their bill, so of
- 6:44Speaker 1: course they would be right. So, like I said, it
- 6:49Speaker 1: all depends on the rankings and and you know they
- 6:53Speaker 1: talk about this contender show and or a contender like
- 6:57Speaker 1: type show, and you know the prospects, and as we know,
- 7:01Speaker 1: UFC doesn't work with other entities within the sport. Would
- 7:05Speaker 1: they do that because you can't have the top let's
- 7:08Speaker 1: say two hundred prospects without ties to somebody, management, promotion,
- 7:16Speaker 1: whatever that they're already tied to. So we'll see all
- 7:21Speaker 1: this all kind of shakes up. But like I said,
- 7:24Speaker 1: right now, you should go check that out or after
- 7:27Speaker 1: the show, whatever, you got some time, maybe you're just
- 7:29Speaker 1: listening to something, you can't read something right now, you
- 7:32Speaker 1: should go check that out at brunchboxing. It's a nice
- 7:35Speaker 1: in depth article with details, points, counterpoints. It's really well done,
- 7:42Speaker 1: and like I said, I'm kind of grab a couple
- 7:44Speaker 1: of items out of there that I do want to
- 7:47Speaker 1: discuss because, like I said, I think the article is
- 7:50Speaker 1: in depth and we just don't get many articles like
- 7:52Speaker 1: that any longer. So I do speaking of support for
- 7:58Speaker 1: a bill, you should support brun boxing. So yeah, just
- 8:03Speaker 1: a variety of stuff that we'll talk about. Like I said,
- 8:07Speaker 1: zoofa Boxing sounds like we now know how many events
- 8:10Speaker 1: they're gonna do, even some clues about how many fighters
- 8:14Speaker 1: they're gonna have when their their umbrella, which is basically
- 8:19Speaker 1: what I was saying, that they're gonna need volume if
- 8:22Speaker 1: they're gonna have that many days. So ultimately, what's that mean.
- 8:28Speaker 1: We're gonna find out, you know, we're gonna find out.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It could be well, we'll get into it. We'll get
- 8:35Speaker 1: into it. If this is your first time listening to
- 8:37Speaker 1: the Rope Dope Radio podcast, Welcome. It's available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio,
- 8:44Speaker 1: Google Podcast, Amazon Music, and we are back on the

- 9:08Speaker 1: you like to bet, we do that. We recap, we pick,
- 9:12Speaker 1: we preview, we give you a betting odds, and we're
- 9:15Speaker 1: you know, where we stand with them against the spread, upsets,
- 9:19Speaker 1: all that good stuff. But one more thing from DirecTV
- 9:25Speaker 1: stream it's really just DirecTV now. Streaming starts at forty
- 9:29Speaker 1: nine ninety nine for the first month. You do have
- 9:32Speaker 1: that five day free trial. The Entertainment package is forty
- 9:35Speaker 1: nine ninety nine per month. ESPN FS one included the
- 9:39Speaker 1: Choice Package fifty four ninety nine for the first month.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Fan Duel sec Network ESPN all included in the Ultimate Package,
- 9:48Speaker 1: which includes all that including over one hundred and sixty
- 9:51Speaker 1: channels eighty four ninety nine per month. That's direct TV. Okay,
- 9:58Speaker 1: So over the weekend, Oscar Kayazzoo. I think it is
- 10:08Speaker 1: Ko and Vice, and they put on a good fight, right,
- 10:12Speaker 1: they put on a good fight, and it had a
- 10:17Speaker 1: strange ending. No, it wasn't the referee this time. I mean, ultimately,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I guess he did stop the fight, but he you know,
- 10:25Speaker 1: he listened to the corner, so he really didn't stop
- 10:27Speaker 1: the fight. It was a head scratcher. Now, the corner
- 10:31Speaker 1: tends to know the fighters the best their fighters, but
- 10:37Speaker 1: you know, it's it was. It was kind of crazy
- 10:41Speaker 1: considering how the fight was going overall and then considering
- 10:45Speaker 1: the scorecards all that stuff. So I thought that Bisson,
- 10:52Speaker 1: you know, was was doing some good work in the
- 10:54Speaker 1: first round with his left hook and right handed just
- 10:56Speaker 1: overall he definitely countered. Well. I thought that the jab
- 11:01Speaker 1: along with the pressure, was doing a lot with Kayazo
- 11:04Speaker 1: or Koyaso. But in the last whatever ten fifteen seconds
- 11:10Speaker 1: or something like that, there was a right hand it's
- 11:13Speaker 1: like a right hook almost that was scored as a knockdown.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Was it like a cuffing push like thing? Yeah? Was
- 11:25Speaker 1: it like kind of the wrist area? Yeah? Could that
- 11:31Speaker 1: just not be called a knockdown? Yeah? I think all
- 11:37Speaker 1: those things are true. Have we seen worse knockdowns? Yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 1: But even with the push, it kind of looks like
- 11:43Speaker 1: there was a little bit of like a trip. Not
- 11:47Speaker 1: that he you know, kayak Kaya Koyaso tripped him, but
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know, it did seem like there was a little
- 11:54Speaker 1: uh feet entanglement, let's put it that way. I did.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So it's ten eight round. I did give Czo the
- 12:06Speaker 1: second round the looping and straight left hands did it
- 12:12Speaker 1: for me. But you know, weisson had some good counters
- 12:19Speaker 1: in that round too, so it was close. Round three,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you know, you had ice on aggressive early right and
- 12:30Speaker 1: then you know he was good with this jab and
- 12:32Speaker 1: once again more right hands and left hooks. You could
- 12:35Speaker 1: see Kayaso was definitely ramping up the pressure. It was
- 12:40Speaker 1: a really really good round. I favored Visn in that one.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I gave him the well, that one was close either way,
- 12:49Speaker 1: but I gave him the fourth. Uh to me, the
- 12:52Speaker 1: body work, some of those body shots he was getting
- 12:56Speaker 1: out of the guard really really you know, really effective.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I thought, and then that it's hard to score the
- 13:04Speaker 1: fifth round because the stream had issues for I saw
- 13:11Speaker 1: plenty of people saying that. But it's like I could
- 13:14Speaker 1: score the round, but it wouldn't be accurate because I
- 13:17Speaker 1: didn't see the whole round. And it's not like I
- 13:19Speaker 1: missed fifteen seconds or something like that, you know what
- 13:23Speaker 1: I mean, that'd be a little different, you know, So
- 13:29Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm just being honest on that one.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I did give the sixth round to Koyazo. And then
- 13:39Speaker 1: it's funny because there was a flush left hand early
- 13:43Speaker 1: in the seventh round. But you know, they were talking
- 13:48Speaker 1: to the corner of Koyazo and Oscar's corner was saying, oh,
- 13:52Speaker 1: he's using angles more and he was a little bit
- 13:54Speaker 1: more crafty. But the hooks with both hands did start
- 13:57Speaker 1: to affect, you know, bison. And I'm not saying so
- 14:04Speaker 1: that was a good enough to stop the fight. Like
- 14:06Speaker 1: I said, the ref didn't stop the fight. Usually we
- 14:08Speaker 1: get the bad, bad stoppages from the actual ref or whatever,
- 14:12Speaker 1: but that wasn't the case here. It was the corner,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and you know, it's just one of those stoppages where
- 14:21Speaker 1: you're like, okay, dude, like you know, you know your fighter,
- 14:26Speaker 1: like I said, better than us, but it just seemed off,
- 14:33Speaker 1: like it was just like dude, and like I said,
- 14:36Speaker 1: he was taking some shots in that round. I'm not
- 14:39Speaker 1: I just got done saying that, right. We don't know. Ultimately,
- 14:43Speaker 1: maybe he'd go on to stop him or whatever. At
- 14:46Speaker 1: the time of the stoppages or the stoppage the card
- 14:50Speaker 1: fifty nine fifty four, fifty nine, fifty four, fifty nine
- 14:53Speaker 1: fifty four, I didn't realize all three of them are bad,
- 14:56Speaker 1: is that true. I'm looking at him, boxerreg right now,
- 15:02Speaker 1: but yeah, I mean I did think it was really
- 15:05Speaker 1: a competitive fight, and you know, Oscar got tested. He said,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you know, I do think he would have won the fight,
- 15:14Speaker 1: but you know, I can think a lot. You know,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I thought the weight would be too much for Crawford,
- 15:20Speaker 1: So I thought that, right, So we can all think
- 15:24Speaker 1: a lot. We got to see it in the ring.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So a really good fight that had a strange ending,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and maybe ultimately it would have ended that way, like
- 15:35Speaker 1: I said, but I just felt like it was premature
- 15:39Speaker 1: and didn't feel like you know, and that they did
- 15:45Speaker 1: the fighter due diligence there, you know. Now Weiss and
- 15:49Speaker 1: I don't know his personality too much. He didn't complain,
- 15:54Speaker 1: but then again, he may have just been, like really
- 15:57Speaker 1: did like he may have been more in shock to it.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Kind of looked like he was in a little bit
- 16:01Speaker 1: of shock. Also. Gabrielle Gabriella from Dora took care of
- 16:06Speaker 1: business per usual. You know, she uh, she handled business.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I think it was what a seventh round? Let me
- 16:14Speaker 1: look at my notes, Yeah, seventh round. She won every round,
- 16:18Speaker 1: so it was pretty one sided from Dora, you know.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Definitely a great woman's fighter, just a great fighter in general.
- 16:27Speaker 1: But I'm saying, you know, not trying to separate it.
- 16:30Speaker 1: But you know, I thought that as far as in
- 16:34Speaker 1: the women's boxing game, she's right up there, she's right
- 16:37Speaker 1: up there. She's a handful of man. But yeah, I
- 16:40Speaker 1: just didn't think the corner. I thought the corner should
- 16:45Speaker 1: have let the fight go, just like everybody else, you know.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And then Kurt Scobie Scooby Sorry, someone left me a
- 16:58Speaker 1: voice message saying, Scooby Scooby, do what do I think
- 17:03Speaker 1: of him? Yeah? I thought I thought that it was
- 17:05Speaker 1: a good performance, you know. I did think Martin, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: whether it was the first or in the first three rounds,
- 17:12Speaker 1: he had some success and then pretty much it was over.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And it sounds like I just heard some news that
- 17:23Speaker 1: he actually is now signed the top rank on a
- 17:27Speaker 1: long term deal. And if you're signing, you know, fighters
- 17:31Speaker 1: to a long term deal, you generally assume that they
- 17:36Speaker 1: have a deal. Could they be in the mix with Zoofa,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I don't know, I mean, I don't know. That would
- 17:48Speaker 1: be really cool, right, but also I don't know what
- 17:52Speaker 1: we'll see. Is Dana White gonna do business with Bob Aaron.
- 17:56Speaker 1: You know, if you've heard them, uh describe one another,
- 18:03Speaker 1: especially you know, especially from the Dana White because he's
- 18:08Speaker 1: the one that's talked about him mostly. Anyway, it wouldn't
- 18:11Speaker 1: seem like that would be a thing. But they don't
- 18:14Speaker 1: have a deal now, so maybe they're going to quote
- 18:17Speaker 1: unquote bend the knee. That's what a lot of people
- 18:20Speaker 1: think that the BBC and Tom Brown are doing. They're
- 18:23Speaker 1: bending the knee. So yeah, let's see what else. Brandon
- 18:30Speaker 1: Moore beat Savage that Curry Scott ended up in a draw.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I did watch that fight as well. I was okay
- 18:41Speaker 1: with the draw. There was one scorecard that was like
- 18:46Speaker 1: to case Scott for like not let me look at
- 18:48Speaker 1: it two and like if I had to choose a winner,
- 18:55Speaker 1: that would be fine, you know with Scott, that'd be
- 18:59Speaker 1: fine for me. But I don't know, I wasn't necessarily
- 19:05Speaker 1: like I didn't see it that far. Let's put it
- 19:10Speaker 1: that way, you know what I mean. I didn't see
- 19:13Speaker 1: it quite that far for her, But uh, it was
- 19:18Speaker 1: it was a competitive fight. That's what we want right
- 19:21Speaker 1: in boxing, That's what we uh, that's what we want.
- 19:25Speaker 1: As far as this weekend, like I said, nothing stands
- 19:28Speaker 1: way out like, oh dude, this is must see. There's
- 19:30Speaker 1: some prospects that are getting we'll find out if they're tests,
- 19:36Speaker 1: you know, we will find out. The zone has I
- 19:41Speaker 1: think three cards this weekend. No, yeah, three cards this weekend.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You have you also have Lopez and Henderson, which is
- 19:52Speaker 1: pro Box, I believe, Yeah, pro Box and it's on YouTube.
- 19:58Speaker 1: He's taken on Calvin Henderson. And you know pro box
- 20:05Speaker 1: is very affordable, if not free for you. Right, So
- 20:11Speaker 1: you're never gonna get me to be like, oh, don't
- 20:13Speaker 1: do that. Well, I shouldn't say never, but because you know,
- 20:16Speaker 1: there could be some some some other stuff going on,
- 20:19Speaker 1: right that I don't agree with or whatever, But overall,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think it's it's worth it to check them out.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Pro Box generally puts on good cards, like I said,
- 20:30Speaker 1: like it's you know, some of the stuff like the
- 20:35Speaker 1: the the kudos and Kim Clavel. I think it's Clavel.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That should be a good fight. You know, I favor Kim.
- 20:47Speaker 1: She is the favorite. But it's not you know, it's
- 20:51Speaker 1: not that that crazy. You know, it's not like a
- 20:55Speaker 1: five to one or anything like that, so that that
- 20:58Speaker 1: could turn around, Like I said, I don't I don't
- 21:00Speaker 1: expect Lopez to lose that fight, but Moreno and Garcia
- 21:06Speaker 1: that's close to a fifty to fifty fight on that card.
- 21:09Speaker 1: That should be pretty good. You can also look at
- 21:14Speaker 1: Christian Cruz Chicon and Jeremy Hill. That's that's pretty close.
- 21:24Speaker 1: In fact, let me go to pro boxing odds. I
- 21:27Speaker 1: wrote some of this down looking through it. Okay, yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 1: that is close. That's really close. Matt Floyd. It says
- 21:36Speaker 1: plus one seventy two against James de Guel. There there
- 21:42Speaker 1: is you know, like I said, some of these weekends,
- 21:48Speaker 1: you know, fights just pop off and and and then
- 21:50Speaker 1: we're gonna break him down. And I'm not gonna go
- 21:53Speaker 1: to in depth you have like this. For instance, there's
- 21:57Speaker 1: a fight between Benjamin Lowe in Mickey Henderson. Plus one
- 22:02Speaker 1: sixteen is low that's pretty good. Stanni Oldness is back
- 22:08Speaker 1: in action. I don't think he'll have any issues. Andy
- 22:12Speaker 1: Thornton and Maddie Hill is like a Pickham fight. I'm
- 22:17Speaker 1: familiar with both those, same with I'm not as familiar
- 22:21Speaker 1: with Gallagher and Hella Well, but that's a close fight too,
- 22:27Speaker 1: like on on the betting on So you know, it's
- 22:32Speaker 1: like I said, a lot of people just because there's
- 22:35Speaker 1: not a big name fight, will kind of tune out,
- 22:39Speaker 1: which I get, you know, I definitely get. But sometimes man,
- 22:45Speaker 1: these fights, these weekends just produce some good ass fight
- 22:49Speaker 1: in there.
- 22:50Speaker 2: So so yeah, but yeah, like I said, not not
- 22:55Speaker 2: a not a huge you know weekend or some big, big.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Fight or whatever. Since we last spoked and Billy and
- 23:04Speaker 1: Martinez the rematch, the WBC has ordered it. I love
- 23:09Speaker 1: it needs to happen, very competitive fight. I see Lester
- 23:17Speaker 1: getting the job done. Also, now Katie Taylor is the
- 23:22Speaker 1: champion in recess, we'll see, you know. Sounds like she's
- 23:27Speaker 1: gonna take some time away, which you know she's deserved it,
- 23:31Speaker 1: no doubt about it. But we'll see how long should
- 23:36Speaker 1: be away, you know. But I like this Sandy, Ryan
- 23:40Speaker 1: Chantel Cameron, so clearly that's gonna be for you know,
- 23:45Speaker 1: the belt. So yeah, I do like that. I think
- 23:48Speaker 1: that's really dope someone was putting out. If someone sent
- 23:54Speaker 1: me this, I should say, and I did see this,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I think on Twitter. Canellos do back in February and
- 23:59Speaker 1: then next October, So next February and next October. You know,
- 24:05Speaker 1: I wouldn't doubt if you know, if it's like Charras
- 24:14Speaker 1: or you know, I wouldn't doubt if if you Bank
- 24:16Speaker 1: wins that that's who he'll fight or whatever. You know,
- 24:19Speaker 1: So I don't I see that as I don't know.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I think that I really don't know, man, I mean,
- 24:32Speaker 1: he's gonna fight. Those fights, are they gonna be interesting?
- 24:35Speaker 1: I don't know. Charaz if he uses his length in
- 24:39Speaker 1: his jab, could he make it hard on him? Sure?
- 24:43Speaker 1: I don't think you Bank Junior would be an issue.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Not to say he can't have any success, but I
- 24:50Speaker 1: see Canelo smok at him. But once again, though, I mean,
- 24:56Speaker 1: it is what it is. You know, those aren't fights
- 24:59Speaker 1: that really excite too many people. I mean, I'm sure
- 25:02Speaker 1: one of them was in the UK or whatever. You know,
- 25:05Speaker 1: people get excited and the UK folks with the both
- 25:08Speaker 1: those fights would get excited because that's that's there, that's
- 25:11Speaker 1: their fighters. So I get that. But like, you know,
- 25:16Speaker 1: it is what it is. But you know, do I
- 25:20Speaker 1: need to see the rematch you know at Crawford. Nah,
- 25:24Speaker 1: I really don't, but I'd be shocked if they did it. No,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I really wouldn't. But yeah, I don't know. I I uh,
- 25:37Speaker 1: I don't know, we'll see I did see the card
- 25:42Speaker 1: that's gonna be in Sadi. It's a big Japanese card.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Consurers there, Nakatsani, you know it's in your way, like
- 25:55Speaker 1: it's it's a it's gonna be a good night of right,
- 26:01Speaker 1: I think Nakatani. I think that's a good fight for
- 26:05Speaker 1: him moving up to that new weight class. That's gonna
- 26:09Speaker 1: be a good test when you look at it, like
- 26:12Speaker 1: who's got the like Picasso, I think anyway is gonna
- 26:16Speaker 1: that's it's not really I'm not going out on the
- 26:20Speaker 1: on the limb or something. He's gonna win the fight. Well,
- 26:22Speaker 1: no shit, But I hope both get to it and
- 26:25Speaker 1: then they in April or May or whenever they're thinking
- 26:27Speaker 1: about doing that. You know that it gets done because
- 26:33Speaker 1: it's time for that fight to happen. It's a great fight.
- 26:36Speaker 1: It's such a meaningful fight. It better be in Japan.
- 26:39Speaker 1: But I can say better all I want and we'll see.
- 26:45Speaker 1: But yeah, I it's it's a good night of fights.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I'm not gonna sit there and be like, dude, fifty fifties,
- 26:53Speaker 1: there's three fifty fifties. It's not that. But you know
- 26:57Speaker 1: we don't get that much anyway, Like USh in the
- 27:00Speaker 1: betting odds, you know, but plenty of boxers that are
- 27:04Speaker 1: plus four hundred, plus five hundred, even plus six hundred
- 27:07Speaker 1: could put up good fights, you know, So I think
- 27:11Speaker 1: it's just going to be an entertaining card. Is it
- 27:16Speaker 1: straight up on to his own then or not? I
- 27:19Speaker 1: actually haven't looked into it yet because we know how
- 27:24Speaker 1: the zone will promote their fights and all of a sudden, Hey,
- 27:26Speaker 1: by the way, I was just kidding, but yeah, just
- 27:29Speaker 1: to follow up, you know, well, I'm not going to
- 27:36Speaker 1: do the follow up just yet. Actually, let me let
- 27:39Speaker 1: me take that back, let me get through some other stuff.
- 27:43Speaker 1: It does seem like, you know, David Benevetez is in
- 27:50Speaker 1: line to get some some fairly big fights or a
- 27:55Speaker 1: big fight, right, so you know, you gotta knew what
- 28:00Speaker 1: she had to do. There's you know, last time we spoke,
- 28:03Speaker 1: there was talks of him and Divil. You know, does
- 28:10Speaker 1: he owe a trilogy fight to a certain someone, Yes,
- 28:14Speaker 1: of course, but obviously Benevitez definitely has to get through Yard.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Anthony Yards no pushover. I like some of the fights
- 28:26Speaker 1: on that car too, but we'll see. There's also a
- 28:29Speaker 1: rumor about Anthony Joshua in his next fight in Nigeria potentially,
- 28:39Speaker 1: so we'll see, you know how that how that goes,
- 28:45Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, by the way. Anyways, fights
- 28:50Speaker 1: did really well on Facebook, like the numbers, so that's
- 28:56Speaker 1: pretty cool. I did see Tim zo put out this tweets.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Since my last fight, I had time to reflect and
- 29:02Speaker 1: I could feel the fire burning inside of me. I
- 29:05Speaker 1: can feel that fire h to reach the next level.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I've decided to restructure my team and bring in some
- 29:12Speaker 1: new faces to support me on this next chapter. The
- 29:14Speaker 1: best is you have to come, you know, like it
- 29:22Speaker 1: is what it is. You know, fighters do this. He
- 29:25Speaker 1: he is young right age wise, but he's not young
- 29:29Speaker 1: fighter wise right punch resistance wise, but you know that
- 29:38Speaker 1: they definitely have to rebuild them, like takes some time
- 29:44Speaker 1: to do it. But I just I don't know. Man
- 29:48Speaker 1: like Tim Zoos seems like, you know, a good dude.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I like his fighting style and should I believe that
- 29:58Speaker 1: maybe he could pull it off in this last fight,
- 30:00Speaker 1: you know, but you know it's boxing, man like, shit happens.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Like you know, dude wants to keep fighting. He can
- 30:11Speaker 1: make good money, especially in Australia. Fighting guys that he
- 30:14Speaker 1: knows he can beat, but we'll see. I just hope
- 30:20Speaker 1: he doesn't get thrown into another big fight right away.
- 30:23Speaker 1: If he's gonna continue, you know what I mean, that's
- 30:29Speaker 1: that would be my my thing. So we'll see, though,
- 30:35Speaker 1: we will see how that goes down. Uh, Gabriel Gonzalez,
- 30:40Speaker 1: I don't think it's a coincidence that. So we're gonna
- 30:43Speaker 1: kind of mix news and boxing Twitter. Then we're gonna
- 30:46Speaker 1: get to the t K o Zoofah stuff and then
- 30:48Speaker 1: the Tom Brown letter of support for the New a
- 30:52Speaker 1: Le Act, the Revival Act, right, the American Boxing Revival Act.
- 30:58Speaker 1: It does sound corny, dude, Sorry, I don't think it's
- 31:03Speaker 1: Gwinca's Ganadi announced his interest in coming back following the
- 31:06Speaker 1: Canilla Crawford fight. Wouldn't be a fan of it, but
- 31:09Speaker 1: there'd be no surpriser if you try. If they tried
- 31:12Speaker 1: Crawford and Glovekin, yeah, I guess it wouldn't be a surprise.
- 31:16Speaker 1: But that fight doesn't do much for me because Glovekin's
- 31:19Speaker 1: over the hill clearly. So the combination of being over
- 31:23Speaker 1: the hill and then not fighting anyone at a high
- 31:26Speaker 1: level for a bit and then you just go fight Crawford.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I just and then you're gonna have a guy who
- 31:37Speaker 1: will be more aggressive. I don't, I just, I don't know.
- 31:43Speaker 1: MJ's still making excuses. Sounds like he didn't have enough
- 31:50Speaker 1: time to warm up in the dressing room and that
- 31:53Speaker 1: play didn't know why he lost the fight. So guy's
- 31:58Speaker 1: got a lot of Oh I did Liam Peril? Did
- 32:03Speaker 1: you know he won? His eye was kind of messed up.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I believe it was. Was it his right right eye
- 32:11Speaker 1: was messed up? But yeah, he definitely like he he
- 32:20Speaker 1: had some moments you know, that were rough, but he
- 32:23Speaker 1: did end up winning. I think it was like a
- 32:27Speaker 1: you know, an IBF something right, some sort of title eliminator.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Adam and sn Boxing. Another really in depth great writer,
- 32:38Speaker 1: Sebastian Hernandez is a legit opponent for Juneto Nakatsani, especially
- 32:44Speaker 1: considering Nakatani's first fight. Yet, I actually just got done
- 32:46Speaker 1: saying that that is very true. Someone sent me that.
- 32:52Speaker 1: So for a while now, I we've talked about whether
- 33:01Speaker 1: it was Canelo or whether it was Usik, the whole
- 33:07Speaker 1: undisputed thing and Dan Rafael. Someone sent me this screenshot
- 33:13Speaker 1: of you know, of Dan saying no, it's it is
- 33:18Speaker 1: a two time undisputed. You know, he says, factually he
- 33:21Speaker 1: was undisputed having all the belts, then he didn't have
- 33:25Speaker 1: all the four, then he regained the missing one. That
- 33:28Speaker 1: is two times undisputed. You know. To me, it's just
- 33:32Speaker 1: but he didn't lose it in the ring. He didn't
- 33:37Speaker 1: lose though. He didn't lose one of them in the ring.
- 33:41Speaker 1: He just didn't And then you can say, well du
- 33:44Speaker 1: Bois was dev deserving, Okay, cool, well he handled him anyway.
- 33:48Speaker 1: So to me, the two times undisputed when you just
- 33:52Speaker 1: got stripped if you lose, if he would have lost
- 33:56Speaker 1: with someone and then regained it by beating that person
- 34:00Speaker 1: or maybe you know the fighter that would be woosick,
- 34:04Speaker 1: let's say, theoretically would fight somebody else or whatever, and
- 34:08Speaker 1: maybe that person would lose, and he whoever had all
- 34:12Speaker 1: the belts at that time to be undisputed, which there's
- 34:16Speaker 1: no guarantee if someone won that they'd keep all the
- 34:18Speaker 1: belts anyway, but then you'd be two time undisputed if
- 34:22Speaker 1: you lost the fucking belts or a belt not being
- 34:27Speaker 1: stripped by a sanctioning belt, I personally just don't count that.
- 34:32Speaker 1: We can't, you know, revolve everything around the sanctioning belts
- 34:36Speaker 1: when you know damn well. And that's ultimately why lineal
- 34:42Speaker 1: is the most important, you know, because as we know,
- 34:45Speaker 1: not every undisputed champion is the same. It doesn't mean
- 34:51Speaker 1: all the same as far as where they're beating, as
- 34:54Speaker 1: far as quality of opponent. You know, like the guy
- 35:00Speaker 1: who Terrence Crawford. I always bring this one up with Crawford,
- 35:03Speaker 1: who he beat Polstall was the better one forty pounder.
- 35:09Speaker 1: So right then and there, that was lineal. Those are
- 35:12Speaker 1: just trinkets after that. Now it's not you collect belts.
- 35:16Speaker 1: That's fine, but I don't look at that as like
- 35:18Speaker 1: some major accomplishment. Now it counts, hell yeah, it counts.
- 35:24Speaker 1: But if you're just gonna lose one belt and then
- 35:29Speaker 1: you just get it, just get it back through fighting,
- 35:33Speaker 1: I just to me, you gotta lose it in the ring,
- 35:36Speaker 1: you know. To me, once you beat, once you get
- 35:39Speaker 1: all the four belts and you're undisputed, that's a wrap.
- 35:41Speaker 1: You were undisputed. That's it, that's all. It's not two, three,
- 35:49Speaker 1: four time undisputed. They can fucking do this this whole
- 35:51Speaker 1: fucking career. You can stay away class. You know, some
- 35:56Speaker 1: rando picks up a belt, you knocked a rando? Oh
- 35:58Speaker 1: oh four time on who gives a fuck? You know
- 36:02Speaker 1: that that's just what it is, you know, so you
- 36:05Speaker 1: can call it whatever you want. You know, we've had
- 36:09Speaker 1: a lot of you know, bullshit like that. I mean,
- 36:12Speaker 1: speaking of bullshit, Nash killing me, I mean, I knew
- 36:16Speaker 1: he was going to do this. People sugar coated his
- 36:19Speaker 1: ass that that needs a pause in there, but they
- 36:25Speaker 1: sugar coated what he was prior. Was he a good
- 36:29Speaker 1: balance to the to that at the time the current
- 36:33Speaker 1: broadcast team, Yeah, I would say he was for quite
- 36:37Speaker 1: some time. Did I enjoy you know, his Friday night
- 36:43Speaker 1: fight segments and stuff like that at times? Yeah? Sure, sure,
- 36:47Speaker 1: But we also know that he's a company man. He's
- 36:53Speaker 1: a company man. So it is what it is, man,
- 36:59Speaker 1: it is what it is. I just it is what
- 37:02Speaker 1: it is. Okay, we we know. I think this is
- 37:06Speaker 1: Varsity and somebody else. I think that the Varsity. I
- 37:10Speaker 1: think that was the source. It was Mark Schapiro saying
- 37:17Speaker 1: that they're gonna do twelve to sixteen regular shows, which
- 37:22Speaker 1: will be like the UFC Contender Series, and then two
- 37:26Speaker 1: to four super fights per year. They're going to announce
- 37:32Speaker 1: the us TV deal soon, very soon, so you know
- 37:38Speaker 1: that'll kind of And I've also heard him say roughly
- 37:41Speaker 1: twelve to sixteen, you know, so somewhere in there. But
- 37:53Speaker 1: and this was on Ring Magazine, but he also said
- 37:58Speaker 1: the stable will be roughly too hundred fighters. And I
- 38:02Speaker 1: got some pushback when I fucking said this, h Like,
- 38:07Speaker 1: if you have a deal that's at least a one
- 38:10Speaker 1: month show, one show a month, you're gonna need fighters, Dude,
- 38:17Speaker 1: You're gonna need fighters. Now. The Contender series isn't gonna
- 38:21Speaker 1: make a fighter contender after they're done with it, per se.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Like when he says, okay, they'll be on our show,
- 38:28Speaker 1: then we'll pass them off to Turkey. Right in that
- 38:36Speaker 1: maybe that's where the PBC fighters, some of them will
- 38:40Speaker 1: be in there, you know, I don't know. But the
- 38:43Speaker 1: whole thing is, if they're gonna have around two hundred fighters,
- 38:47Speaker 1: they can't all be prospects. And I know it's a
- 38:50Speaker 1: it's just a line saying undefeated against undefeated. We're gonna
- 38:54Speaker 1: have undefeated, Dana White saying undefeated against undefeated, like kind
- 38:58Speaker 1: of like pro box, right, or even undefeated against one loss,
- 39:00Speaker 1: but some of the guys he's already signed are not undefeated.
- 39:03Speaker 1: So and I'm not saying that's the NLB all, okay,
- 39:06Speaker 1: so I'll put that. I'm just saying, if if you
- 39:08Speaker 1: said we're gonna have the best fighting the best, that's
- 39:13Speaker 1: my first one of my first questions. Okay, So who
- 39:16Speaker 1: are the best then? And are you willing to work
- 39:18Speaker 1: outside of who's under your umbrella? Will you do code deals?
- 39:23Speaker 1: Because you can't tell me you're gonna get two hundred
- 39:26Speaker 1: of the best fighters and they're not gonna be tied
- 39:29Speaker 1: to something or someone promotional management, right, it's obvious. So
- 39:37Speaker 1: that is a question that I had really early on.
- 39:40Speaker 1: And so two hundred fighters, Yeah, well who has two
- 39:44Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty fighters? Over one hundred fighters? The
- 39:47Speaker 1: PBC does top rank, has a lot of fighters. Are
- 39:50Speaker 1: they gonna blend that all together and match make it
- 39:54Speaker 1: all together? And so that's what I'm asking, and then
- 39:57Speaker 1: you're gonna have your own rankings, okay. And this kind
- 40:00Speaker 1: of lends itself into you know, the Muhammad Ali American
- 40:05Speaker 1: Boxing Revival Act. God, that's fucking corny. Like I said,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I can point out some positive things about that, but
- 40:13Speaker 1: in the end, that's not the best. Like you're gonna
- 40:19Speaker 1: You're gonna make your best in house fights. Okay, cool,
- 40:23Speaker 1: you got your own platform. It appears you get your
- 40:27Speaker 1: own whatever it is, whether it's you know, I don't
- 40:29Speaker 1: know what it's gonna be on, we don't know yet,
- 40:31Speaker 1: but all right, cool, So you got that. So what
- 40:36Speaker 1: are you gonna do with it? And if you say
- 40:39Speaker 1: the best first you, like I said, you can't use
- 40:42Speaker 1: the ring magazine rankings or the transnational rankings because they
- 40:50Speaker 1: involve a lot of different fighters that are connected to
- 40:54Speaker 1: different platforms and uh, you know, management probers, YadA YadA. Yeah,
- 41:00Speaker 1: so you know, I don't know. I really don't know.
- 41:06Speaker 1: It can't be just a no name or not not
- 41:09Speaker 1: even no name prospect. Well yeah, a lot of it
- 41:12Speaker 1: would be no name prospects then, you know, but the
- 41:15Speaker 1: Contender series, I don't think the whole undefeated under versus undefeated.
- 41:21Speaker 1: I think that's just talk, like I said, because first
- 41:23Speaker 1: of all, we don't. It just doesn't need to be
- 41:25Speaker 1: that right, But you know, I just think they're gonna hopefully,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and that's why having who's your match bankers. You know,
- 41:38Speaker 1: if you had PBC and you had top rank or whatever.
- 41:42Speaker 1: That at least makes me think, okay, that now now
- 41:48Speaker 1: we're moving, Like, I don't know, they're who they're they
- 41:50Speaker 1: got for boxing people. I'm not saying they can't higher
- 41:56Speaker 1: quality people, but you'd have to and maybe, you know,
- 42:02Speaker 1: Dana Whitees spoke very well of Al Hayman. I think
- 42:06Speaker 1: one of the things he didn't like of Al Hayman
- 42:08Speaker 1: is when Connor McGregor took a meeting with him and
- 42:11Speaker 1: all of a sudden his pay went up quickly. It
- 42:13Speaker 1: was after the fight with Floyd and Al said, hey, man,
- 42:19Speaker 1: if you want to come to boxing, I'm your guy,
- 42:21Speaker 1: you know, come on over. And I remember he like
- 42:24Speaker 1: booked Madison Square Garden, you know, right on Saint Patrick's day.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Like it's like, hey, dude. But he also found out
- 42:32Speaker 1: probably found out more about his worth and options there
- 42:36Speaker 1: and like I said, after that meeting not long after,
- 42:40Speaker 1: his pay was different. So maybe Tana's liked all right,
- 42:44Speaker 1: fair play, but he has spoke well of himself and
- 42:47Speaker 1: he's management, you know, So I don't know, or they're
- 42:53Speaker 1: going to try to do their own thing, you know,
- 42:56Speaker 1: could they be doing their own thing? It's it's it's
- 42:58Speaker 1: interesting I don't know. It's it seems like they're not
- 43:01Speaker 1: in position like they were to do their own thing.
- 43:05Speaker 1: But can you continue because you have the right people
- 43:10Speaker 1: around you to continue to build everything. You know, we'll
- 43:14Speaker 1: see I did see the first I think it was
- 43:20Speaker 1: fanduelch Course Stevenson Tayo Fema Lopez Tayo Femo is a
- 43:24Speaker 1: plus too fitty. Some people freaked out about that. It
- 43:27Speaker 1: does feel like you know, it does feel like, you know,
- 43:36Speaker 1: a little funky to fifty. But stylistically, this is not
- 43:42Speaker 1: a good style. Chakor is not a good style for him.
- 43:47Speaker 1: And then just speaking of the the Jake Paul Germonte
- 43:51Speaker 1: Davis thing, you know, the Florida Athletic Commission, like the
- 43:58Speaker 1: executive director, he had some quotes like he can't do
- 44:03Speaker 1: a fight, like like, you can't do a fight like
- 44:07Speaker 1: that as a pro fight. It'll be an exhibition. They're
- 44:11Speaker 1: looking at stipulations and all that. Some quotes. I think
- 44:18Speaker 1: this was in the USA today. You know, they're talking
- 44:21Speaker 1: about display. Basically, they will display skills without necessarily striving
- 44:28Speaker 1: to win using strikes and blows to the head or
- 44:32Speaker 1: other full contact maneuvers, which is like what you know,
- 44:40Speaker 1: but there has been a little bit more detail that
- 44:45Speaker 1: has come out now, and actually I'm going through my
- 44:50Speaker 1: messages right now. Luis artis. Yes, he did win. I
- 44:54Speaker 1: think that was an Orlando correct if I remember correctly,
- 44:58Speaker 1: he did win. He did win, and Brandon Moore did
- 45:02Speaker 1: call out Anthony Joshua so shouts out to him. I
- 45:08Speaker 1: did kind of forget about that. I did forget to
- 45:10Speaker 1: talk about that. So actually I'm trying to find give
- 45:19Speaker 1: me a second here, I thought I had it up.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Where is it I did? Oh? By the way, on
- 45:25Speaker 1: the undercard, I think Russell's in the best fight. I
- 45:29Speaker 1: think that's the best fight at the night. But Alicia
- 45:31Speaker 1: is going to do twelve rounds three minute. I think
- 45:35Speaker 1: that fight is that I heard anyway? Okay, So here
- 45:38Speaker 1: it is three minute rounds, ten rounds, one hundred and
- 45:43Speaker 1: ninety five pound catchweight, twelve pounce gloves which is white,
- 45:49Speaker 1: a step up for tank, and then three scoring judges,
- 45:56Speaker 1: so kind of that. They're they're gonna be scoring. They're
- 46:04Speaker 1: gonna they're they're they're gonna score. If you have judges,
- 46:06Speaker 1: they're going to score. Okay. So here's some boxing Twitter
- 46:12Speaker 1: stuff and actually this one came from boxing Twitter, but
- 46:16Speaker 1: based off the based off the screenshot, it looks like
- 46:20Speaker 1: it's not like a Facebook comment to me, Mayweather beat
- 46:24Speaker 1: Canelo at a weight controlled fight contract, not allowing Canelo
- 46:28Speaker 1: to gain more than five pounds on fight night, leaving
- 46:31Speaker 1: him drain in this fight. No such contract. Oh yeah,
- 46:37Speaker 1: that there was no you could only gain five pounds.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I do know that, Oscar and uh Manny, that was
- 46:45Speaker 1: one of those real tight things. But no, they're there.
- 46:49Speaker 1: It was a catchweight and the reason why it was
- 46:52Speaker 1: a catchweight is because Canelos people negotiated publicly. I think
- 46:58Speaker 1: it was in a boxing scene article. We can do
- 47:02Speaker 1: this weight, they said. And actually I believe the weight
- 47:05Speaker 1: was even lower than it got contractually finished. So like
- 47:12Speaker 1: the final weight was a little higher than that. But
- 47:16Speaker 1: that's their fault, bottom line. That's boxing, dude. You're you're
- 47:20Speaker 1: gonna take on the most popular dude in boxing and
- 47:23Speaker 1: you're gonna say, hey, we'll fight you at this weight
- 47:25Speaker 1: and then they say, all right, let's do that. Waight wait,
- 47:27Speaker 1: that's wrong, you know huh. Someone asked me beyond Boxing
- 47:35Speaker 1: the podcast, do I like it? I do like it.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I think it's I think the person who does it
- 47:39Speaker 1: is a good host. It's interesting to hear that perspective.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I don't really listen to much of what he asked
- 47:47Speaker 1: to say when it comes to American boxing, really because
- 47:52Speaker 1: I I just don't think he's on it like that.
- 47:56Speaker 1: And also I noticed sometimes when he's wrong about well,
- 47:59Speaker 1: here's case in point. He made the Canelo so it
- 48:05Speaker 1: was called Canelo to crush his best budd you know,
- 48:09Speaker 1: crafty title. I can respect that he hasn't done a
- 48:12Speaker 1: follow up to that, hasn't done a follow up, so
- 48:24Speaker 1: you know, he acted like it wasn't even a fight,
- 48:30Speaker 1: whereas I made money on the fight, betting on Crawford
- 48:33Speaker 1: as well. But yeah, I was wrong about it. But
- 48:36Speaker 1: if you're gonna predict fights, which I've been doing since
- 48:39Speaker 1: two thousand and nine, by the way, you're gonna get
- 48:43Speaker 1: shit wrong, dude. So you know, here's a little bit
- 48:49Speaker 1: more boxing Twitter, PBC Blueprint Sow Sow Givante in with
- 48:54Speaker 1: a forty to one guy, pay two point five mil,
- 48:59Speaker 1: watching go to sleep show for two years. Make you
- 49:02Speaker 1: beg for a fight. When your bag starts getting low,
- 49:05Speaker 1: then find a fighter nobody wants to. Okay, So I'm
- 49:08Speaker 1: not a big fan of Martin Bartholomew. That fight. You
- 49:13Speaker 1: got to get back, Frank. But but the whole thing
- 49:15Speaker 1: of forty to one, just stop it right there. Not
- 49:21Speaker 1: aney of that, but you know the legal situation he
- 49:27Speaker 1: kind of got caught up in that. I did see
- 49:29Speaker 1: someone in the comments talking about that, Frank Martin I'm
- 49:32Speaker 1: talking about. But dude, like forty to one, like to stop. Dude,
- 49:39Speaker 1: you just you lost me right there. You completely lost
- 49:43Speaker 1: me right there. There was a report that Luis Alberta
- 49:47Speaker 1: Lopez has accepted an offer from Top Rank to fight
- 49:50Speaker 1: Raphael Espinoza. We'll see if that, you know, ultimately happens. Sorry,
- 50:00Speaker 1: I don't I don't know. I don't know if it
- 50:02Speaker 1: will happen. But yeah, it's good. Here here's another one,
- 50:06Speaker 1: Bernardo PILATEI now he said just forty one mil. That's
- 50:17Speaker 1: bad news. Honestly, in my previous videos, I estimate the
- 50:21Speaker 1: number of viewers would exceed two hundred million. Why because
- 50:24Speaker 1: they were selling you as the fight of the century
- 50:26Speaker 1: and it would arrive for free to everyone. Three out
- 50:31Speaker 1: of it says three out of two have Netflix. Okay.
- 50:36Speaker 1: I think the whole thing is if you thought that
- 50:40Speaker 1: fight would do two hundred million. Think about how many
- 50:42Speaker 1: subscribers they have. You really think that they're going to
- 50:46Speaker 1: be able to like activate every single subscriber. Go look
- 50:53Speaker 1: at how many Netflix subscribers there are, both in the US,
- 50:58Speaker 1: the UK and across the world. There's a lot of them.
- 51:02Speaker 1: But to say you're going to activate each and every
- 51:05Speaker 1: one of them, I mean even the NFL for NFL games,
- 51:09Speaker 1: they're not activating every household. Dude, that's just not that's
- 51:15Speaker 1: that's just weird. A little back and forth stuff with
- 51:19Speaker 1: ottomus and and uh and what's the still, Giana Beck?
- 51:27Speaker 1: Is the deal done? I don't know. It sounds like
- 51:30Speaker 1: it may be a co feature for Stevenson Lopez. Great,
- 51:35Speaker 1: that's great. You know, I'd love it, but I don't
- 51:39Speaker 1: I don't you know what I mean. I just don't
- 51:43Speaker 1: like the you know, you hear that it's frozen, that
- 51:48Speaker 1: it's not they're drifting far away or further away, but
- 51:52Speaker 1: then it's not. And I don't know. But that's why
- 51:56Speaker 1: I'd rather not hear ship until the negotiations are done.
- 52:03Speaker 1: And then once they're done and both fighters or at
- 52:06Speaker 1: least one fighters moved on and signed a fight or whatever.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Then tell me about the negotiations. But this public shit
- 52:17Speaker 1: in these quotes. You know, I like the fight. Let's
- 52:22Speaker 1: fucking have something that happened at middleweight, right, But yeah,
- 52:29Speaker 1: it does sound like Xander's eye is rejected Giovanni. I
- 52:36Speaker 1: don't know if it's enough money for him or what.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I don't know. Here's another company guy, as we know
- 52:41Speaker 1: in that way for a while, Coppinger, I knew this
- 52:44Speaker 1: fucking ring magazine show inside the ring, I knew it
- 52:47Speaker 1: would be full of this. But boxing is bigger than
- 52:51Speaker 1: it's ever been in the UK. Come on, dog really
- 52:56Speaker 1: did right now? It is? That's just not true. Okay,
- 53:02Speaker 1: So I've heard about the per source involved. This is
- 53:08Speaker 1: coming from a couple of people that they're planning on
- 53:12Speaker 1: Pitbull Cruise, Lamont Roach the fight itself in December sixth
- 53:19Speaker 1: or December twentieth. The fight itself. You know, it's a
- 53:26Speaker 1: nice test for Cruise. I'll tell you that I shouldn't
- 53:29Speaker 1: say tests, but it's a risky fight for him. But
- 53:35Speaker 1: Lamont Roach, this is a legit opponent for him. So
- 53:38Speaker 1: I really like the fight. But these are the fights
- 53:42Speaker 1: that I really wish and basically boxing needs them to
- 53:47Speaker 1: be not paper g So you know, you better beef
- 53:54Speaker 1: up that card to even get the hardcorese be like
- 53:57Speaker 1: hell yeah, you know, otherwise people are gonna try to
- 53:59Speaker 1: string it, dude. That's just how it's gonna go. So yeah,
- 54:05Speaker 1: I mean I don't know. Like I said, I do
- 54:12Speaker 1: like the fight, you know, I do like the fight,
- 54:15Speaker 1: but it being on pay per view, it's just it's uh,
- 54:19Speaker 1: it's it just be better on a on a straight
- 54:22Speaker 1: up platform. So that's my thoughts on it. What else
- 54:29Speaker 1: have we got here? Oh, it sounds like Derek Jsori
- 54:31Speaker 1: talking about his fiftieth bout. He's gonna be December. He's
- 54:35Speaker 1: gonna be on a card December thirteenth in Manchesta. Yeah,
- 54:45Speaker 1: so I think, Oh, Schofield and Diaz, you know, Diez
- 54:55Speaker 1: a while back would have been a really good fight
- 54:57Speaker 1: for him. It's just what does he have left? Is
- 55:00Speaker 1: he gonna show? Is this just a payday? You know?
- 55:04Speaker 1: I don't know. I just I hope it's a good fight,
- 55:08Speaker 1: but I don't I don't think it really helps Schofield,
- 55:11Speaker 1: to be honest with you, Yeah, like talking about the
- 55:20Speaker 1: Tom Brown thing, right, he wrote the letter and support
- 55:26Speaker 1: of the the Manah Muhammad Ali Revival Act. And like
- 55:32Speaker 1: I said, brunchboxing dot Com check it out. Matt Brown,
- 55:38Speaker 1: you know, had this in depth. Sorry, I got a
- 55:43Speaker 1: little distracted. Had this in depth. It was a dramatic pause.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Now has this in depth article that you should go
- 55:51Speaker 1: and check out.
- 55:52Speaker 3: WB president sounds off on Tom Brown after Brown's support
- 55:56Speaker 3: of the Ali Ali Act changes because it becomes okay, So, as.
- 56:02Speaker 1: We know, the California Athletic Commission, they've decided to I
- 56:07Speaker 1: think it's December, to push it back, you know, on
- 56:11Speaker 1: their you know, during their meeting, they decided to Andy Foster, uh,
- 56:17Speaker 1: the executive director, you know, decided to push it back. Whatever. Right,
- 56:26Speaker 1: And the w BO very sorry w B A. Gilberto Mendoza,
- 56:32Speaker 1: you know, had some had some things to say to
- 56:36Speaker 1: Bernardo on ESPN. And here's some of the quotes from
- 56:42Speaker 1: the article. I'm gonna be kind of you know, quoting
- 56:45Speaker 1: from the article. I won't read the whole article or
- 56:48Speaker 1: anything like that, because I think you should. So basically,
- 56:54Speaker 1: you know, he says, you know, well, you saw the
- 56:59Speaker 1: tweet Tom is for the bill to change the Mohammed
- 57:02Speaker 1: Ali Act. I don't like that because well a lot
- 57:04Speaker 1: of the criticism we have received is being you know,
- 57:07Speaker 1: being supportive to the BBC. So you know, the WBA
- 57:11Speaker 1: did receive criticism. All these belts should get criticism for
- 57:15Speaker 1: a variety of reasons, but he he got criticism because
- 57:19Speaker 1: of a lot of it was the interim belts or
- 57:23Speaker 1: you know, they've been the most intrim you know, like
- 57:27Speaker 1: two three different type of belts within divisions more than
- 57:31Speaker 1: others in recent years. All of them have stuff like that.
- 57:38Speaker 1: But they they they went access right and the PBC
- 57:42Speaker 1: fighters were ranked a lot. But it is kind of
- 57:48Speaker 1: funny because he's talking about, well, we supported them even
- 57:52Speaker 1: though we got criticism. Well, what were you getting for them?
- 57:55Speaker 1: You know you're getting criticism because sometimes you're just creating bullshit?
- 58:00Speaker 1: Oh okay, but yeah, he said, you know they talked
- 58:05Speaker 1: about him supporting with the letter, and he said, Tom,
- 58:11Speaker 1: who I respect. There's no indifference with him. If he
- 58:14Speaker 1: wants to leave to TKO meaning Zoufa boxing, fine go.
- 58:18Speaker 1: If you're saying he's gonna go to TKO, perfect, But
- 58:21Speaker 1: I didn't like it if you want to go against
- 58:24Speaker 1: us after we helped you. So therefore, even in those
- 58:29Speaker 1: quotes we helped you, bro, what kind of help. Did
- 58:34Speaker 1: you help them with did you help him create new
- 58:38Speaker 1: belts or you know for the fighters and you know,
- 58:41Speaker 1: you're you're it's basically and you're they're telling on themselves
- 58:46Speaker 1: right here. I mean, all these ranking systems tell on
- 58:49Speaker 1: themselves based off their rankings. Like I always say, but
- 58:55Speaker 1: we helped you, bro. You know, obviously you're not going
- 58:58Speaker 1: to be welcomed, so that therefore, so you're fighters. So
- 59:03Speaker 1: now the fighters under the PBC won't be welcome in
- 59:06Speaker 1: the w BA, doesn't That isn't that telling on yourself
- 59:13Speaker 1: right there? I think it is. And it's not just me,
- 59:19Speaker 1: it's other members who read what's going on. Now. Whether
- 59:23Speaker 1: that's gonna be ultimately true or not, I think that
- 59:27Speaker 1: could that happen, Sure it could, but you know, I
- 59:33Speaker 1: think it will depend on the fighter, you know, and
- 59:36Speaker 1: if they can you know, how much money they can
- 59:40Speaker 1: sanction them and all that stuff. And I've given my
- 59:44Speaker 1: thoughts on this, you know, on this United Boxing organization,
- 59:50Speaker 1: the UBO, and he makes a lot of great points.
- 59:54Speaker 1: UBA would you know, run its own rankings, crown its
- 59:57Speaker 1: own champs, stage its own events, essentially functioning as both
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: a sanctioning body and a promoter, right, and you know,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: the PBC for not doing that, got a whole lot
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: of shit for it, got sued for you know, basically
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a lot of things right, and the Golden Boy one
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: didn't go anywhere for obvious reasons. But does this all
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: mean that they're going to you know, align with ZUFA Boxing,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: TKO Group holdings, you know, the people who own a
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: lot of stuff, you know, And he goes on to say,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: you know the recent settlement three hundred and seventy five
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: anti trust settlement, and so it's it's we've talked about that,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: you know, we've talked about that a lot as far
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: as you know, how they do business, and it is bullshit, right,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: And so do I trust them?
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: No?
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I don't trust that now passing off these contender winners
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: to Turkey, would they get paid likely? Yeah, they'd probably
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: get paid. Will it help some of the lower level
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: club stuff? Yeah? And that's Tom Brown didn't say that.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: He also said for the top fighters, it's not a
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: good deal. But the Ali act itself right now still
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: would exist. But then there'd be that other layer and
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: it you know, can I see where it worked better? Sure?
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: But I need to see it to believe it for
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: all the things I've laid out, you know, but when
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I hear two hundred around two hundred fighters, it does
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: seem like more something that would work better if you're
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: if you're with the PBC and or top rank or
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: something like that. I do have to admit that, because
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: then you have more boxing people involved, and then it's like, Okay,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: they got the deal. We're just gonna make our best
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: for that. And if that's the case, you could probably
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: sign me up for that. But you know, or will
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: it be just those two to four big events that
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: those fights would be involved, or you know, like I said,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: code deals, you know, or they already have management, Well
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I can you can sign a bunch of these Hayman
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: fighters because he's just management. You can promote them, you know.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: So I have to see it, you know, lay out.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: He also has quotes from Pat English, famed boxing attorney
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: and general culture for the ABC, the Association of Boxing
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Commission right, and so he goes into you know, his concerns,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: erosion of fighter protection contracts, mandatory disclosures, you know, all
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: that stuff, closed system rankings that could include exclude you know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: fighters unaffiliated. Are they gonna work with other people, because
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: they sure haven't done that. Now you could say that
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: MMA wasn't nearly obviously, you know, wasn't established really when
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: they got in the game, like really established like boxing
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: it had been for many, many decades. So it's harder
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: to do that, you know. And maybe that's why he
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: would prefer to work with the BBC, because it's a
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: management thing. Uh So, now, potential, he said, the he said,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: includes the creation of two classes of promoters, right, And
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I'm kind of back and forth on that because we
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: already have Now you could say two classes of promoters
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: were they're the top class and everybody else's the other.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: But we already have well, maybe we don't have two
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: classes of promoters. We have a top class and then
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: kind of a mid here and then club shows. Right,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: so we have had a clock, you know, we've had that.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: So now here's he did, you know, like bring in
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: some other stuff here, right for Brown? He did. It's
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: like it says laid out as reasoning in a letter
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: to the House Educational Workforce Committee chairman. So for well
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: over thirty years I have been you know, intimately involved
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: in the aspect of boxing. And he he said, you know,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: the sport of boxing. American support of boxing has been floundering.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Now there's a variety of reasons for that, right, it's
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: not just one, he says, you know, the this is
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: the this is the solution. It will position boxing to
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: flourish by adding competition and and accountability to this great sport.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Now what how much accountability you know is that you know?
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Is there? So that that's where? Like, so what what
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: accountability are we talking about? Who? Who's Who's being held accountable?
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: And I always go back to some sort of supervising
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: committee that has teeth. I mean, that's it. That's that's
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: what we need. So, you know, and even like disclosure,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: right with how much people are making. We've seen that
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: in not Nevada. That doesn't happen anymore. So yeah, it's
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: it's I don't know, but it's a mixture of stuff.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: You know, the Contender series, you know, his mentality. I
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: could already hear Dana White saying, you know, the problem
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: with boxing is people can't you know, can't thrive without
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: having an undefeated record. Well that's not what we're gonna be.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: This guy's lost four times, but he's hell of a fighter.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: He's taking on a really good test. And so this
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: whole undefeated versus undefeated, like I said, it's probably just
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: a punchline, you know, like a marketing tool. But I
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: got no matter what it is, I always reserve the
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: right to see the fucking fights. Let's see what we're
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: working with here. You know. But as we've seen the
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: revenue go up for UFC over the years, yes, the
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: fighter pay has gone up, but the percentage has not,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: whether you're talking anywhere from fifteen to twenty percent. You know,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: they talk about the NBA in the NFL, and I
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: got Max Kellerman saying, you wanted to be like the INPU,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: you know, all this dumb shit, right, Okay, then if
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: you're this like you got over a billion dollars off
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: of this deal per year for what seven years? It's
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: a hell of a fucking deal. So why and you're
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: this legit, you know, franchise like he says, okay, cool,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: then pay the fucking fire. This isn't like other sports, dude. Yeah,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: you take punishment and as we know you take punishment
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: and football we know that, we know that it takes
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: years off your life, literally takes years off your life.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I haven't I haven't researched recently, but I remember years
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: ago it was like, god, I can't remember, fifteen years
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: or thirteen, I can't remember, but it was a significant
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: amount of years off your life. But in boxing, dude,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: it's like, like, how many times do you get hit
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: in the head during a football game? And then we
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: know in the last whatever ten years, it's less now
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: than it was. That's or damn sure. So I'm not saying, oh,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: football is safe, man, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: You know, No, it's a it's a car crash. But
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: imagine body blows in head blows. Oh man, This pause
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: culture just sometimes it makes me laugh because I need
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: to pause that. But you know, I'm kind of on
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: the naw, I ain't fucking pausing that, dude. But I
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: catch myself so much more often though anyway, Like you're
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: taking more damage, dude. So these fighters are taking way
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: more fucking damage to the head into the body internally,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: body shots, and they fuck up the internal part of
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: your body, dude, clearly. I mean, we hear about pissing
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: blood a fair amount of the time in boxing. We've
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: that that plenty of times. And I'm not saying that's
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: the only sport that pete blood. But we've heard that plenty.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: So if you can't, if you're gonna sit there and
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: tell that you're a fucking NBA and NFL, we built
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: this shit, Okay, cool, so fucking do it. But you know,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: as we know, those two sports in particular, they're unionized.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: They had negotiations with the fighter over all, and now
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: that doesn't mean you could say that, you know, like
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: in both sports that you know, like veteran players get
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: fucking pushed out and don't make enough money. Now, considering
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: in both sports, you definitely can say that, right, but overall,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: there's they're still getting a sizeable amount of the revenue.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Now I'm not saying it has to me seven or
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: eighty like boxing. I'm just saying, like boxing right now,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: I'm not saying that for for sure, but because some
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: of that's just not realistic. But if you're gonna tout
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: this shit, then why aren't you paying them more? Well,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: they wouldn't be able to do the business model that
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: they've thrived on, thrives on taking advantage of the fighter.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: There's is no way around. It's not political, you know
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: it is. It's not a political statement. But there's the
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: reason why that can exist would be they're not under
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: the Ouli Act. You know, in this scenario, they know it.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: That's why they're they've and if you look at what
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: they did in New York, like they know this, dude,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: and that's why they're getting They're gonna get this bill passed.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: So you know, it is what it is. Like I said,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: if the bill had you know, some sort of committee,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I don't know. Like I said, I'm not I'm not
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: saying some supervision of the sport with teeth couldn't be corrupt.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: I'm not saying that. We know it could be. But
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: until we have something with teeth, it's just gonna be
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: more corruption, you know. But we'll see. We'll see ultimately
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: how this goes down. Anyway, I'm gonna get out of here,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: enjoy the fights this weekend. Like I said, there's some
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: on the low fights. Shit may pop off. I'm out beat.
