- 0:00Speaker 1: Ron Verb, I'm saying what everyone else won't after Guardians
- 0:03Speaker 1: baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Guardians trailing 1-0, second inning here in Anaheim. Nathaniel Lowe
- 0:12Speaker 2: leads things off for the Guardians, and Grayson Rodriguez fires
- 0:15Speaker 2: a strike on the outside corner. 95 on the fastball.
- 0:20Speaker 2: We'll see a lot of that today as he averages
- 0:23Speaker 2: mid to upper 90s with his hard stuff. Here's the 0-1,
- 0:26Speaker 2: and that's swung on and peppered into right center field.
- 0:29Speaker 2: A base hit off the bat of Lowe. It's deep
- 0:32Speaker 2: in the gap. Does he go for it? Nope, stays
- 0:34Speaker 2: at first base. With a long single, sharply struck by
- 0:37Speaker 2: Nathaniel Lowe. Well, if there's a right field arm that
- 0:40Speaker 2: Nathaniel Lowe probably knows better than any right field arm
- 0:44Speaker 2: in Major League Baseball, it is his younger brother, Josh.
- 0:48Speaker 2: As he smoked this baseball, looked like this ball was
- 0:51Speaker 2: going to get in the gap. but give his younger
- 0:54Speaker 2: brother Josh a little credit, was not about to let
- 0:56Speaker 2: his brother lead off with a double. So Lowe's aboard
- 1:00Speaker 2: for Angel Martinez. Rodriguez delivers, and his pitch is outside
- 1:05Speaker 2: for a ball. Well, in the first four innings we play,
- 1:08Speaker 2: the Conrads score four, win four new tires contest. Guardians
- 1:13Speaker 2: score four or more runs in any of the first
- 1:16Speaker 2: four innings. Joanne Corey of Silver Lake wins a set
- 1:20Speaker 2: of Bridgestone tires. Martinez swings and skies one high in
- 1:23Speaker 2: the air to center. Coming in on it, Teodosio, and
- 1:27Speaker 2: he makes the catch. First out in the inning, no
- 1:30Speaker 2: advance by Lowe. If you'd like to enter the Conrads
- 1:39Speaker 2: score four, win four new tires contest, visit econrads.com. Brought
- 1:44Speaker 2: to you by Conrads Tire Express and Total Car Care.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Here's Angel Hanao. Night off last night for Hanau, rookie infielder.
- 1:55Speaker 2: The pitch to him, and it's outside for ball one. Hanau,
- 2:00Speaker 2: 17 games into his major league career. The average still
- 2:04Speaker 2: up at 290. He has a home run, three runs
- 2:07Speaker 2: driven in. Here's the pitch from Rodriguez. Fastball strike on
- 2:15Speaker 2: the inside corner. Good hard fastball right there, too, from Grayson.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Not much on help could do. I think he's rightfully
- 2:24Speaker 2: so kind of looking up and out over the plate
- 2:26Speaker 2: here on this. Next pitch to him. And it's outside
- 2:33Speaker 2: and high for a ball. Guardians trying to match their
- 2:44Speaker 2: longest winning streak of the season. They won seven in
- 2:46Speaker 2: a row back in May. The 2-1. Strike called on
- 2:50Speaker 2: the outside corner, 2-2. Chris, we've talked about a little
- 2:54Speaker 2: bit on this road swing. Teams that are struggling. Some
- 2:57Speaker 2: of the worst records in baseball, the Guardians are playing
- 3:00Speaker 2: right now in Colorado and the Angels. Prior to that,
- 3:03Speaker 2: the Giants. You still have to go out and play
- 3:05Speaker 2: the game, right? Yes, you absolutely do. And it's not
- 3:09Speaker 2: who you play, it's when you play those certain teams.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Here's the 2-2. Just downstairs for ball three. And right now,
- 3:20Speaker 2: obviously the Angels are still trying to find a new
- 3:22Speaker 2: identity after the trade deadline and trading seven players off
- 3:25Speaker 2: their major league roster. There's an infusement of a lot
- 3:29Speaker 2: of young talent here now. And the same thing can
- 3:32Speaker 2: be said for the Rockies. Payoff pitch. Swung on. Ripped
- 3:36Speaker 2: to first. Just foul. Just foul near the bell. So
- 3:42Speaker 2: we'll do it again on three and two. Now the
- 3:47Speaker 2: Guardians have Done what they've needed to do on this
- 3:52Speaker 2: road trip so far. They'd won the final game of
- 3:54Speaker 2: the homestand against the Giants last Thursday. And now trying
- 4:00Speaker 2: to sweep a road trip. And sweep the season series
- 4:04Speaker 2: from the Angels. It would be the fourth time that
- 4:08Speaker 2: they have done that in a series of five games
- 4:10Speaker 2: or more. The 3-2 swung on and that's lifted high
- 4:17Speaker 2: in the air but foul. Down the left side and
- 4:20Speaker 2: out of play. The Guardians swept the Angels in 2019, 2017,
- 4:26Speaker 2: and 1994. That doesn't happen often, that's for sure. Now
- 4:35Speaker 2: the payoff pitch. Swung on and there's a high fly
- 4:38Speaker 2: ball to dead center. Settling under it, Teodosio, and he
- 4:42Speaker 2: makes the catch shy of the warning track. And now
- 4:45Speaker 2: is retired and low remains at first base now with
- 4:48Speaker 2: two down with the Angels up one nothing in this
- 4:52Speaker 2: top half of the second inning. Austin Hedges will step in.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Playing in the shadow of his hometown San Juan Capistrano.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Down the road heading towards San Diego a little bit.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And he's had mom and dad here for a couple
- 5:11Speaker 2: of the games. Saw him out yesterday having a chat
- 5:14Speaker 2: with everybody. What a year for Hedges at the plate
- 5:19Speaker 2: as Lowe draws a throw. That doesn't happen very often.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Austin Hedges batting 270, five homers, 21 runs batted in.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Career batting average under 200 coming into this season, and
- 5:33Speaker 2: it's been a long career for Hedges. More than a
- 5:36Speaker 2: decade in the big leagues. Here's the pitch to him,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and he swings and lifts it to shallow center, coming
- 5:43Speaker 2: on to Adosio, and he makes the catch to retire
- 5:46Speaker 2: Hedges and the Guardians in the second. After an inning
- 5:49Speaker 2: and a half, it's the Angels 1, the Guardians nothing.

- 7:40Speaker 6: is all about the Valley after Guardians baseball on 570.
- 7:49Speaker 2: WKBN. 1-0, the Angels lead as Joey Cantillo takes the
- 7:52Speaker 2: mound in the bottom of the second for the Guardians,
- 7:54Speaker 2: facing Josh Lowe. Right fielder, left-handed batter, here's the pitch,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and it's upstairs for ball one. Lowe batting. 213 with
- 8:04Speaker 2: 10 home runs, 27 driven in. and to work through
- 8:09Speaker 2: some injury issues this season. Here's Cantillo's 1-0 delivery to Lowe.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Off speed again. Stays high for ball two. Now we
- 8:24Speaker 2: want to send out happy birthday wishes, belated birthday wishes,
- 8:29Speaker 2: to the best traveling secretary in baseball, Jared Jones. Next
- 8:36Speaker 2: pitch is down low for a ball. Jarrett Jones, birthday
- 8:39Speaker 2: number 33 today. And when you're from Indiana and you're 33,
- 8:43Speaker 2: that's the Larry Bird birthday. Kind of a big deal.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Larry Bird, number 33 for his tremendous career. There's a
- 8:55Speaker 2: pitch down low for a ball. Low draws a four-pitch
- 8:59Speaker 2: walk and a leadoff base runner. But J.J. celebrating his
- 9:03Speaker 2: birthday last night. And now rewarded with a travel day today. Amen.
- 9:08Speaker 2: But it was at least nice of the boys to
- 9:10Speaker 2: reward his birthday with a very nice team-oriented victory. Get that.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yes.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And now right back to work. The travel days are
- 9:20Speaker 2: the World Series days for the travel guys. If you
- 9:24Speaker 2: want to call it that. They have to be on
- 9:26Speaker 2: their game and JJ as good as anybody. Denzer Guzman
- 9:31Speaker 2: steps in. Takes a pitch outside and high for ball one.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Now the 1-0 from Joey Cantillo. Low and inside. 2-0
- 9:45Speaker 2: the count. I don't know how those guys keep track
- 9:48Speaker 2: of them on a travel day. I know. I mean,
- 9:50Speaker 2: I don't know how many suitcases there are. JJ might
- 9:52Speaker 2: have arguably the hardest job of anybody in the entire organization.
- 9:57Speaker 2: The amount of jobs that he has. underneath his umbrella
- 10:01Speaker 2: of travel director. The 2-0 outside.
- 10:07Speaker 7: 3-0.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Exponentially large amount of jobs that poor JJ has to do.
- 10:14Speaker 2: But like you said, he always does it with a smile.
- 10:16Speaker 2: He's more than happy to help. And unbelievable at his job.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Now the 3-0 pitch. On the outside corner for a strike. 3-1. Guzman.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Young third baseman. And again, the Angels undergoing roster turnover.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Trying to get younger. Full rebuild. The 3-1. Outside and
- 10:46Speaker 2: high for ball four. So back-to-back walks by Cantillo. And
- 10:52Speaker 2: with nobody out, that's runners at first and second for
- 10:54Speaker 2: the Angels. Out to the mound, Austin Hedges to have
- 10:59Speaker 2: a chat with him. Yeah, this is a good visit
- 11:01Speaker 2: here from Austin. Seven straight balls before Joey got a
- 11:05Speaker 2: strike in there to Guzman before that final ball four.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I think this group in the infield right now knows
- 11:13Speaker 2: how important it is for Joey to get it deep
- 11:15Speaker 2: into this ballgame as he possibly can. Again, hot, humid,
- 11:19Speaker 2: probably a little sweat on the hands. Maybe not the
- 11:22Speaker 2: best feel for the baseball, but they're going to have
- 11:24Speaker 2: to find a way this afternoon to get him through
- 11:27Speaker 2: at least, at the very least, five innings, if you
- 11:30Speaker 2: have to think. You would think that they have to
- 11:34Speaker 2: get there somehow, some way. Hey, the Guardians and PNC
- 11:38Speaker 2: Bank are going to bat for small business. Throughout the season,
- 11:41Speaker 2: join PNC Bank in honoring six local businesses that could
- 11:44Speaker 2: make a difference in the community. Tyler Heinemann steps in.
- 11:51Speaker 2: The pitch to him. He shows bunt, pulls it back,
- 11:53Speaker 2: takes it down low for a ball. Heinemann, a nice pickup.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And a cash deal with the Blue Jays back in June.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Veteran catcher. Had played in 33 games with the Jays
- 12:07Speaker 2: this year. Right-handed batter, the pitch to him. Shows bunt,
- 12:12Speaker 2: pops it up behind the plate. Hedges is there, and
- 12:15Speaker 2: he makes the catch. In foul territory, Heinemann pops out
- 12:20Speaker 2: trying to bunt. Well, thank you very much. First and foremost,
- 12:25Speaker 2: that's an uneasy feeling. Your job there is to get
- 12:29Speaker 2: that ball put on the ground. Popped it up just off.
- 12:34Speaker 2: The dirt there at home plate, easy play for Austin Hedges.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And now, again, you hope that's maybe that little break
- 12:41Speaker 2: that Joey needs to find himself back in the strike
- 12:44Speaker 2: zone and cruise. Bryce Teodosio steps in, and he takes
- 12:48Speaker 2: a strike on the inside corner with the curve. 1-0,
- 12:51Speaker 2: Angels lead. And they are threatening here in the second
- 12:55Speaker 2: inning with two on, one out. And their number nine hitter, Teodosio,
- 12:59Speaker 2: just up from AAA Salt Lake today. In the lineup,
- 13:05Speaker 2: center field, but batting just 198 in 34 big league
- 13:08Speaker 2: games this year. Open stance from that right side. And
- 13:19Speaker 2: now Cantillo steps off. Off day tomorrow for the Guardians.
- 13:29Speaker 2: They're back at it Friday night. opening up that 10-game
- 13:33Speaker 2: homestand against Kansas City. Next pitch, low and in for
- 13:37Speaker 2: a ball. Royals for three, and then an off day Monday.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Blue Jays come in for three, and then the Tigers
- 13:46Speaker 2: for four on Labor Day weekend. Now the 1-1. Curve
- 13:55Speaker 2: ball missed outside, 2-1. So, command and issue early.
- 13:59Speaker 7: Yes.
- 14:01Speaker 2: For Cantillo. Yeah, it has been. And again, when Joey's good,
- 14:06Speaker 2: he is in the strike zone early and often. And
- 14:08Speaker 2: I've said this multiple times. I still, to this day,
- 14:12Speaker 2: think he has the best pure stuff of any starter
- 14:14Speaker 2: on our staff. The 2-1. Herb Ball, strike on the
- 14:18Speaker 2: inside corner. And leaving it at 2-2. Sometimes when you
- 14:23Speaker 2: have stuff as nasty as Joey's, it can be very
- 14:27Speaker 2: difficult to... To control on a daily basis. His last
- 14:30Speaker 2: start was in Colorado. You and I talked about this
- 14:32Speaker 2: before the game. First the 2-2. Low and in, ball three.
- 14:40Speaker 2: About how his curveball was breaking four inches less up
- 14:44Speaker 2: in Colorado. So trying to find that arm spot, you know,
- 14:48Speaker 2: your release point for that pitch, getting that ball to
- 14:50Speaker 2: go or break the direction and the depth that you
- 14:53Speaker 2: want it to, to now coming here to sea level,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and it's hot and humid. Not an easy task to
- 14:59Speaker 2: need to find in-game that release point you need. And
- 15:03Speaker 2: that's where you feel for the Rockies pitchers because they
- 15:07Speaker 2: go through this all the time. For the Guardians, it's
- 15:09Speaker 2: once every other year. The 3-2 pitch. Low and in.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Ball four. A walk to Teodosio. And now they're loaded
- 15:18Speaker 2: up on walks with only one out. And arguably the
- 15:23Speaker 2: top hitter for the Angels, Zach Netto, coming in. Beto
- 15:29Speaker 2: at the top of the lineup, singled his first time up,
- 15:32Speaker 2: and he'll have to wait as pitching coach Carl Willis
- 15:35Speaker 2: is on his way to the mound to have a
- 15:37Speaker 2: chat with Joey Cantillo. Don't forget the September Guardians ballpark
- 15:42Speaker 2: pass presented by Planet Fitness is on sale now. Get
- 15:46Speaker 2: a standing room only ticket to all 13 September home games,
- 15:49Speaker 2: just $ 59. Matchup's in there. against the White Sox and Tigers,
- 15:55Speaker 2: among others. Ballpark Pass is available at CLEGuardians.com. Another mound
- 16:03Speaker 2: meeting complete as Willis heads back to the dugout. Four
- 16:10Speaker 2: walks already in the game for Cantillo, three this inning.
- 16:18Speaker 2: And now Netto steps in. Long set. Here's the pitch.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Outside and high for ball one. Josh Lowe, the base
- 16:32Speaker 2: runner at third. Denzer Guzman is out at second. And
- 16:36Speaker 2: Bryce Teodosio is on at first. 1-0 Angels already. Here's
- 16:41Speaker 2: the pitch. And it's outside and high. Ball two. Antillo
- 16:51Speaker 2: battling those command issues early. Trying to settle in in
- 16:57Speaker 2: a hurry. Here's his pitch. Swung on. A chopper foul
- 17:01Speaker 2: outside of third. So two and one the count on
- 17:08Speaker 2: Zach Netto out of Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
- 17:18Speaker 2: He's from Miami, but said none of the Florida schools
- 17:21Speaker 2: recruited him when it was time to go to school
- 17:24Speaker 2: and play college ball. Here's the 2-1. And it was inside.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Did it hit him? Yes, it did. It clipped Netto
- 17:33Speaker 2: on the way by in the knee. So he's hit
- 17:36Speaker 2: by a pitch that forces in a run from third
- 17:39Speaker 2: and it's 2-0 Angels. Josh Lowe comes down the line
- 17:43Speaker 2: from third. Netto heads to first with his 64th run
- 17:49Speaker 2: batted in. Base is still loaded. Still only one out.
- 17:56Speaker 2: It looked like this ball got Zach Netto on the
- 17:59Speaker 2: back knee. Just grazed that back knee. And now again,
- 18:05Speaker 2: Joey Cantillo needed a ground ball here against Mike Trout
- 18:08Speaker 2: in the worst kind of way. Trout looks at an
- 18:11Speaker 2: off-speed pitch outside for ball one. Very few fastballs so
- 18:17Speaker 2: far today from Cantillo and Sometimes he'll use that a
- 18:21Speaker 2: little bit more often than you would think to take
- 18:22Speaker 2: hitters off the breaking stuff. There's a swing and a
- 18:25Speaker 2: line drive to center. Coming on, making the catch is
- 18:28Speaker 2: Stephen Kwan. Tagging, heading for home and scoring, standing up
- 18:32Speaker 2: is Guzman. The throw came into second. Teodosio got back there.
- 18:37Speaker 2: But the sack fly by Mike Trout plates another run
- 18:40Speaker 2: for the Angels. And it's now a 3-0 Angel lead. Well,
- 18:45Speaker 2: this is just a good job by Mike Trout. Not
- 18:47Speaker 2: trying to do too much. Stay to the big part
- 18:48Speaker 2: of the field. Get it out there just deep enough.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Stephen Kwan realizing as he's running in to catch this
- 18:55Speaker 2: ball because the play is right in front of him.
- 18:57Speaker 2: The runner at second base initially broke to third. Thought
- 19:01Speaker 2: about trying that ball out at second base. Vaughn Grissom
- 19:05Speaker 2: steps in. He takes a pitch low and in for
- 19:07Speaker 2: ball one. Grissom. Reached on an infield single. There was
- 19:14Speaker 2: a throwing error on the play, and the Angels' first
- 19:16Speaker 2: run came around to score back in that first inning.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Here's the 1-0. Swung on, and that's lifted high in
- 19:25Speaker 2: the air to right. Settling under it, Joe Adele. And
- 19:29Speaker 2: the right fielder makes the catch. Side retired, but the
- 19:32Speaker 2: Angels had a pair of runs, and we'll head to
- 19:33Speaker 2: the third. It's Los Angeles 3, the Guardians nothing on
- 19:37Speaker 2: the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network. Give your home an inter.
- 19:41Speaker 1: It's Ron Ferb, and I've got opinions you'll want to hear.
- 19:44Speaker 1: After Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 19:47Speaker 2: 3-0 Angels as we hit the third inning, and it
- 19:59Speaker 2: is the Hyundai Grand Slam giveaway inning of a Guardians hitter.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Classic Grand Slam here in the third. Kerry Politsky of
- 20:07Speaker 2: Broadview Heights wins a Hyundai Kona courtesy of your northern
- 20:10Speaker 2: ohio hyundai dealers visit hyundai grand slam.com to enter brian
- 20:15Speaker 2: rocchio will get it started for the guardians number nine
- 20:19Speaker 2: hitter facing right hander grayson rodriguez who fires a strike
- 20:23Speaker 2: on the outside corner oh and won the count on
- 20:25Speaker 2: rocchio rocchio batting 247 10 homers 54 driven in switch
- 20:29Speaker 2: hitter left side Rodriguez fires away, and the off-speed pitch
- 20:37Speaker 2: catches the outside corner for a strike. Rodriguez right back
- 20:50Speaker 2: to it, and it's swung on and foul tipped at
- 20:52Speaker 2: home plate. Nice job there by Brian Rocchio, just trying
- 20:56Speaker 2: to be a little pesky. That pitch was arguably too
- 21:00Speaker 2: close to take, so good job. Lives to see another
- 21:04Speaker 2: day here. The 0-2. Swung on and he lifts it
- 21:09Speaker 2: high in the air to left. Right there is Siri
- 21:12Speaker 2: to make the catch. And there's one gone here in
- 21:15Speaker 2: the top half of the third. Jim Rosenhouse along with
- 21:18Speaker 2: Chris Jimenez this afternoon on loan from Guardians TV. Tom
- 21:23Speaker 2: Hamilton with the road trip off. But Hammy will be
- 21:25Speaker 2: back on Friday night when the team returns home to
- 21:28Speaker 2: take on the Royals. Big homestand coming up. We have
- 21:32Speaker 2: Mike Noto with us in the booth here in Anaheim
- 21:34Speaker 2: and back home at command center, Brian Motze. Here's the pitch.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Stephen Kwan takes it for a strike on the outside corner.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Kwan at another base hit leading off the game today
- 21:47Speaker 2: after a 5-for-5 night last night. Here's the 0-1 upstairs
- 21:54Speaker 2: for a ball.
- 21:54Speaker 4: 1-1.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I hope we're enjoying... Your late afternoon back home. Maybe
- 22:01Speaker 2: you're in the car driving home from work and have
- 22:04Speaker 2: the game on. Here's the 1-1. Down low, 2-1. Bright,
- 22:09Speaker 2: sunny day here in Anaheim with our game time temperature
- 22:13Speaker 2: of 92, and it's up to 94 now. I believe it.
- 22:19Speaker 2: We might get triple digits today. Well, I did see
- 22:21Speaker 2: on the news this morning that was a possibility. The 2-1.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Swung on, and that's lifted foul and out of play
- 22:28Speaker 2: on the left. And again, very few fans are out
- 22:34Speaker 2: in the sunshine. There's a big upper deck here in
- 22:38Speaker 2: a second level, so some shade throughout the ballpark. The 2-2,
- 22:41Speaker 2: swung on, lined, foul, left side out of play. And
- 22:45Speaker 2: everybody's tucked underneath. Nice play down there, too. A gentleman
- 22:51Speaker 2: with a barehanded jumping catch. That's a game on a
- 22:56Speaker 2: Wednesday afternoon. Absolutely. The 2-2. Swung on. There's a tapper
- 23:00Speaker 2: to the second baseman. Up with it more and he
- 23:03Speaker 2: throws low. Ball bobbled but they say that Grissom hung
- 23:07Speaker 2: on to it long enough for the out. So Kwon
- 23:11Speaker 2: has retired for the second out in the inning. And
- 23:15Speaker 2: that'll bring up Travis Pazana. One of the folks under
- 23:20Speaker 2: cover here. Just a brave few getting that That good
- 23:28Speaker 2: bright sunshine. We'll see how long they last out there.
- 23:31Speaker 2: As Bazzana steps in, here's the pitch. And it's on
- 23:35Speaker 2: the outside corner for a strike. I mean, no lie. Chris,
- 23:39Speaker 2: I think there's 12 people in the bleachers and right? Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 2: The 1-0-1 pitch is swung on and missed. It's 0-2.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I kind of imagine that is about The hottest place
- 23:56Speaker 2: on earth right now. Those bleachers. It looks like tinfoil
- 23:59Speaker 2: out there. It does. And the sun just radiating off
- 24:05Speaker 2: those poor seats. Yes. Now the 0-2 pitch from Grayson Rodriguez.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Breaking ball down low. Checked his swing. It's been that
- 24:20Speaker 2: kind of road trip that The strength and the conditioning staff,
- 24:23Speaker 2: the training crew, it has been all about hydration and
- 24:27Speaker 2: everything else that they do to keep these guys going
- 24:31Speaker 2: in a good direction when it's hot. Here's the pitch,
- 24:33Speaker 2: and it's swung on, fouled back. Yeah, they certainly made
- 24:36Speaker 2: their money this trip for sure. And again, I was
- 24:40Speaker 2: talking with Tanner Bybee the other day about that specific thing,
- 24:42Speaker 2: it being the first time he pitched in Colorado, and
- 24:45Speaker 2: just asked him if he felt a noticeable difference, and
- 24:48Speaker 2: he said he was absolutely blown away with how much
- 24:51Speaker 2: of a difference he felt being at altitude. There's the one-two.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Swung on. Ground ball. First base. Fair ball. Diving stop. Grissom. Backhand.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Toss to first. Not in time. Safe at first is
- 25:04Speaker 2: Bazzano with an infield single despite a great effort from
- 25:07Speaker 2: the first baseman, Vaughn Grissom. Well, that was a great effort.
- 25:11Speaker 2: He smothered that baseball, rolled around, and as he rolled,
- 25:15Speaker 2: tried to get up. And shovel that ball to a
- 25:19Speaker 2: Grayson Rodriguez. The ball shoveled. His glasses actually came off
- 25:24Speaker 2: of his hat. And he threw those and the ball
- 25:26Speaker 2: at the same time. I saw something go flying. Was
- 25:30Speaker 2: wondering what it was. We had a chance to see
- 25:32Speaker 2: it here on the replay. Fortunately, he may need to
- 25:36Speaker 2: wipe those off before he puts them back on his hat.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Rodriguez must have been wondering, what is going on? Well,
- 25:46Speaker 2: Bazana at first. Two out base runner for the Guardians.
- 25:49Speaker 2: They trail 3-0. Angels with three runs on just two hits.
- 25:56Speaker 2: No runs, four hits for the Guardians. Here's the pitch.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And it's down low for ball one. Jose Ramirez, the batter,
- 26:04Speaker 2: a single his first time up. Building off the big
- 26:07Speaker 2: night last night when he had the three doubles and
- 26:09Speaker 2: five runs batted in. The pitch to him. Outside for
- 26:16Speaker 2: a ball. 2-0 the count on Jose. I'm sure Jose
- 26:24Speaker 2: would love to find his way on right now with
- 26:26Speaker 2: Joe Adele on deck. You just feel like Joe's kind
- 26:29Speaker 2: of waiting for that signature welcome home moment. The 2-0,
- 26:33Speaker 2: swung on line, and it hit Bazana. The line drive
- 26:38Speaker 2: hits Bazana, so the inning is over. Another line drive
- 26:43Speaker 2: for Jose Ramirez, ticketed for right field. But with Bazana
- 26:47Speaker 2: at first, he started making that move to second and
- 26:50Speaker 2: got smoked with that line drive. It looks like he's okay.
- 26:55Speaker 2: The side is retired. And we'll head to the bottom
- 26:57Speaker 2: of the third. Anaheim. In Anaheim, the score, the Angels 3,
- 27:02Speaker 2: the Guardians nothing. Check engine or ABS light on?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Take the guesswork out of your warning lights with O'Reilly Veriscan.
- 27:10Speaker 2: It's free. Ask for O'Reilly Veriscan. Oh, oh, oh, O'Reilly.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Auto Parts.
- 27:18Speaker 8: Progressive knows you think the grass is always greener. Like
- 27:21Speaker 8: maybe you ride a motorcycle. But today, it's raining. So
- 27:26Speaker 8: you wish you had an RV. But if you did,
- 27:28Speaker 8: you'd have to listen to some guy park next to
- 27:30Speaker 8: a campsite plays acoustic guitar. Now, before you start wishing
- 27:34Speaker 8: you had a boat, remember, your brother-in-law would invite himself
- 27:37Speaker 8: every weekend.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Permission to come aboard, Captain?
- 27:40Speaker 8: The one thing that is greener is the money you

- 28:49Speaker 2: Hey, it's Ron Furb.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'm not holding back, ever, after Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Bottom of the third inning underway. Joey Cantillo fires to
- 29:03Speaker 2: Christian Moore, who swings and misses for strike one. Moore
- 29:07Speaker 2: walked his first time up. 1-1 the count on him. 3-0,
- 29:12Speaker 2: Angels lead. As Cantillo delivers the 1-1. Breaking ball in
- 29:17Speaker 2: there for a strike. Last inning ended on a line
- 29:22Speaker 2: drive off the bat of Jose Ramirez that hit the
- 29:24Speaker 2: base runner, Travis Buzana. So Ramirez gets credit for a single.
- 29:29Speaker 2: He's now two for two. And because Buzana's out, the
- 29:33Speaker 2: out is reported unassisted by the second baseman. Here's the 1-2.
- 29:39Speaker 2: In tight, 2-2. And Bazana stays in the game at second.
- 29:44Speaker 2: He was thrilled. Yes, he was. Near the ribs, maybe? No,
- 29:47Speaker 2: I think that actually got his arm, his right arm.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Now the 2-2. Upstairs for a ball, 3-2. Cantillo, he's
- 29:58Speaker 2: really had command issues here today. Four walks already, as
- 30:02Speaker 2: well as a hit batsman, and that forced in a
- 30:04Speaker 2: run last inning. Here's his payoff pitch. Swung on, foul back,
- 30:10Speaker 2: and out of play, straight back. He'll do it again
- 30:13Speaker 2: on three and two. Well, if Joey can find a
- 30:17Speaker 2: way to keep the game score as it is, we
- 30:21Speaker 2: saw the bullpen for Anaheim get worked overly aggressively yesterday night,
- 30:26Speaker 2: and you hope This offense has got another comeback. The
- 30:30Speaker 2: 3-2 down low. Ball four. More walks for the second time.
- 30:37Speaker 2: The Angels, they did make the move to add an
- 30:39Speaker 2: arm to their bullpen before the game. The Guardians did not.
- 30:43Speaker 2: They'll try to make it through here today. Up to
- 30:48Speaker 2: the plate for Los Angeles, Jose Siri. He struck out
- 30:51Speaker 2: his first time up. Hey, don't forget, coming up Sunday,
- 30:54Speaker 2: it's the final Kids Fun Day of the summer, Guardians
- 30:57Speaker 2: and Royals. Get to the ballpark early, all kinds of
- 31:00Speaker 2: fun activities, and postgame, kids run the bases. The pitch
- 31:04Speaker 2: to Siri is swung on and missed for strike one.
- 31:08Speaker 2: That's presented by Cleveland Clinic. Get your tickets at cleguardians.com.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Moore with a leadoff walk, off the bag at first.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Here's the pitch, and Siri takes it on the inside corner.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Strike two, Paul. There was a good fastball. We haven't
- 31:29Speaker 2: seen many fastballs so far. No, we haven't, but I
- 31:33Speaker 2: have seen Joey wipe his hand off on his pants
- 31:36Speaker 2: about six times. The 2-0 curve just missed outside. And again,
- 31:42Speaker 2: I know the humidity out here, which is not something
- 31:45Speaker 2: you're used to on the coast. but you've got to
- 31:48Speaker 2: feel like that's given him fits with holding on to
- 31:50Speaker 2: the baseball. Here's the one-two. Swung on, ground ball to short.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Rocio to the back for one. Bazana the first. Double play.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Nicely turned around the bag by the Guardians. 6-4-3. Well,
- 32:06Speaker 2: that was an outstanding job by Joey. Getting that ball
- 32:10Speaker 2: put on the ground, a little two-for-one action right there.
- 32:13Speaker 2: You love that. Now if he can just find a
- 32:16Speaker 2: way to get strike one and then try to expand
- 32:20Speaker 2: from there. Go in the heart of the plate. It's
- 32:22Speaker 2: okay to do that early in the count. Nothing he
- 32:25Speaker 2: throws is straight, so everything he throws moves. So if
- 32:28Speaker 2: you aim middle, give yourself the best room for error.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Josh Lowe, the batter, takes the pitch low and outside.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It's 3-0 Angels, bottom of the third. Here's Cantillo's 1-0 pitch.
- 32:45Speaker 2: To the veteran, Josh Lowe. Swung on and popped him up.
- 32:49Speaker 2: High in the air on the infield, battling the sun. Rocchio,
- 32:52Speaker 2: and he makes the catch. Side retired. We head to
- 32:56Speaker 2: the fourth. It's the Angels three, the Guardians nothing on
- 33:00Speaker 2: the Cleveland Clinic radio network. Hi, this is Dan Rivers.
