- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:14Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett on this Tuesday, May fifth. As
- 0:17Speaker 2: you kind of freaked me out there justin Kaylin is
- 0:20Speaker 2: with me. Two things of music were playing the same time.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You didn't hear that. You had to Yeah, I don't
- 0:25Speaker 2: know why it's doing. I like, truth of the matter
- 0:28Speaker 2: is I kind of like it.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I need to actually text the no, no, please don't
- 0:31Speaker 3: well no, it's doing it for every show. I like it.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I think it's kind of cool that they're doing that.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It stresses me.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It's kind of like the new thing they're doing with
- 0:43Speaker 2: Apple or what is it, iTunes Music or Apple Music. You
- 0:49Speaker 2: know what they're doing, the recent download or upgrade that
- 0:53Speaker 2: they did on Apple Music. Have you not noticed it?
- 0:57Speaker 2: It runs like as if it's a radio. So what
- 1:01Speaker 2: happens is when a song is ending, the next song
- 1:05Speaker 2: will start playing a little like it's a radio station.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I love it. I think it's the coolest thing out there.
- 1:13Speaker 2: So when I'm listening to, you know, whatever song's playing
- 1:16Speaker 2: on there, I don't go break in my heart. Elton John.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I'm just making up a song. I don't have this
- 1:21Speaker 2: s downloond on my song. I don't know why that
- 1:23Speaker 2: came in my head. But with with Elton John and Tiki,
- 1:28Speaker 2: I don't remember the lady's name.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And it's going into Foo Fighters and it's like okay,
- 1:35Speaker 2: it's as it completely finish of don't Go Break in
- 1:38Speaker 2: My Heart and the foo Fighters start playing.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Against like a little bit of dead air. No.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I well, I just kind of think it's cool. I mean,
- 1:49Speaker 2: because radio stations do that, you know, they there's no
- 1:52Speaker 2: break in the music. I remember as a kid trying
- 1:55Speaker 2: to record my favorite song on the radio so I
- 1:58Speaker 2: didn't have to go buy it. Well, I would get
- 2:00Speaker 2: a little mix of the song before, because you know,
- 2:04Speaker 2: they'd be playing my new song first, and you were
- 2:09Speaker 2: just good with that. I was fine, Oh, I didn't care.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I was getting it for free. Are you kidding?
- 2:13Speaker 3: I say the album like, if it bothered me a
- 2:17Speaker 3: little bit, if it wasn't perfect, then I would start
- 2:20Speaker 3: all over wait for the song to come on again,
- 2:22Speaker 3: would you really?
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm kind of that way when I'm trying to edit
- 2:26Speaker 2: videos or recordings or anything like that to post them out,
- 2:30Speaker 2: I'm kind of that way as well.
- 2:32Speaker 3: But you know, I get to a point it's like
- 2:34Speaker 3: forget it. Who cares? So that's why I was a kid.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I didn't care. I listen.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I got the majority of the song for free, so no,
- 2:42Speaker 2: I I love it. Do you not have Apple Music?
- 2:46Speaker 3: Oh? Wait? Just have you not noticed it? No? I
- 2:49Speaker 3: don't you know, And I don't know that. I've listened
- 2:50Speaker 3: to Apple Music in three four days, so that would
- 2:53Speaker 3: check out.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's been around for months. Not an entire year, but
- 2:58Speaker 2: it's been around probably three months or so.
- 3:00Speaker 3: See, I'll use mostly when I'm on Apple Music, I'll
- 3:04Speaker 3: go to my playlist. I'm wondering if that doesn't have
- 3:06Speaker 3: something to do with it, because, yeah, I'm listening to
- 3:08Speaker 3: my music that I've downloaded. So you're downloading music, yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 3: because when you get on because when you get on
- 3:15Speaker 3: a plane, you can't listen to them, okay unless you're
- 3:18Speaker 3: on a plane.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That the internet, Yeah, so you have to download it.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I don't download every single song, but I download a
- 3:25Speaker 2: good normal number of them. I don't go to the
- 3:27Speaker 2: point where you do and add that extra step of
- 3:30Speaker 2: making a playlist.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I love my playlist, do you really? I love them?
- 3:34Speaker 3: How many songs will you have? In a playlist. I mean,
- 3:37Speaker 3: they're all different, probably anywhere from twenty five to let's
- 3:43Speaker 3: say seventy five, really, and you just listen to them
- 3:47Speaker 3: in the car. Yeah, but I got like all my
- 3:49Speaker 3: separate playlists, Like I got a like, I got my
- 3:51Speaker 3: country playlist, I got my Christian playlist. I've got my
- 3:55Speaker 3: playlist for songs that reminds me of college, Like I've
- 3:59Speaker 3: got a number of.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Songs that remind you of college. If you said, now,
- 4:04Speaker 2: songs that remind me of middle school, I'll start worrying.
- 4:07Speaker 3: In high school, oh, middle school, it would be umbop
- 4:11Speaker 3: and Okay, yeah, thanks.
- 4:13Speaker 2: That was probably one of the all time worst songs
- 4:16Speaker 2: ever made. You're outrageous, No, that was the dumbest song.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Between that and Hey Makarina. I ranked those two songs
- 4:24Speaker 2: and some of the two worst songs in the world.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Don't tell me there's a worse song than that.
- 4:29Speaker 3: And that's gonna wrap it up for just say yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 3: I'm telling you right there. What's the other one from
- 4:35Speaker 3: the Korean artist that went so popular a couple of
- 4:37Speaker 3: years in style, that's another one worst song in the world.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Name another worse song than those? I mean, Gongham style
- 4:47Speaker 3: admittedly was not good. Yes, so you liked, Hey, Macara
- 4:51Speaker 3: is ridiculously catchy. I did like Macarina, Yeah, did you really?
- 4:56Speaker 3: And you like umbought by those three kids that those
- 5:00Speaker 3: three little girls that that can't sing that song anymore
- 5:03Speaker 3: because it's too high pitch. I guarantee you they can't
- 5:06Speaker 3: sing that song anymore, no way. Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Oh, that's what's happened to a number of singers out
- 5:11Speaker 2: out there, because either their voice is gone or they
- 5:14Speaker 2: can't hit those high pitch. If you go back and
- 5:16Speaker 2: listen to Sammy Hagar sing Van Halen, he can't hit
- 5:19Speaker 2: those high pitches anymore, so they have to tone it down.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Now.
- 5:22Speaker 2: His voice sounds pretty good still, but I guarantee you,
- 5:25Speaker 2: like a singer like Pat Monahan that sings for Train,
- 5:28Speaker 2: there'll come a day he can't sing that high Darryl
- 5:33Speaker 2: Darryl Hall, I think he can sing his songs from
- 5:37Speaker 2: back in the day.
- 5:38Speaker 3: His voice sounds pretty good. But go ahead, that's right,
- 5:42Speaker 3: Go ahead. I was just gonna say, speaking of singing,
- 5:44Speaker 3: have you seen the Jose Ortiz. Jose Ortiz, that's not right, Yeah, no,
- 5:51Speaker 3: the jockey Ortiz. You're right, Hey, won the dirty correct
- 5:54Speaker 3: Have you seen the video of him and his brother
- 5:57Speaker 3: came in second? Correct? Have you seen the video of
- 5:59Speaker 3: him doing care? No? Oh my gosh, I good ran
- 6:03Speaker 3: across that this morning, Absolutely hilarious. Well, I guess it
- 6:08Speaker 3: was that some sort of gala last year, because he's
- 6:11Speaker 3: up on stage. Everybody in the crowds like cheer and
- 6:13Speaker 3: form and stuff, and there's lights, lights going everywhere. I'll
- 6:16Speaker 3: have to see if I can find it and send
- 6:17Speaker 3: it to you. It's really very entertaining.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Okay, you'll have to find it and play it, or
- 6:21Speaker 2: we should just play it on the radio.
- 6:23Speaker 3: That's good point. Yeah, yeah, I mean everybody else might
- 6:26Speaker 3: like to hear. Is it all right? Is his voice good?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Uh?
- 6:29Speaker 3: No, I mean it's not as bad as I was expecting.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I actually a lot better than I was expecting. So
- 6:35Speaker 3: I would say, yes, all right, if you did karaoke,
- 6:38Speaker 3: what would be the first song you would sing? Beer
- 6:41Speaker 3: for My Horses? Who's that by Toby Keith? Okay? Why
- 6:46Speaker 3: that song? That's always been my karaoke? Is it really?
- 6:48Speaker 2: I've never done care? Well, no, I've done karaoku. Once
- 6:51Speaker 2: I grew up doing karaoke, Did you really? We always
- 6:54Speaker 2: had a karaoke machine and we'd have parties. And the
- 6:57Speaker 2: one my mom was a really good singer.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Uh.
- 7:00Speaker 2: The one song I did and carry, the one and
- 7:02Speaker 2: only song I ever did was Neil Young old man
- 7:06Speaker 2: take a look at my life.
- 7:07Speaker 3: That was it.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay, I'm done because I kind of
- 7:11Speaker 2: sound like him when I do that song or a
- 7:14Speaker 2: Tom Petty song. Probably Tom Petty is what I would
- 7:16Speaker 2: do next.
- 7:17Speaker 3: All Right, you want it now or you want it
- 7:18Speaker 3: when we come back for break. Uh, well you already
- 7:21Speaker 3: brought it up. Let's go ahead and hear it right now?
- 7:23Speaker 3: Right here we go? Maybe good telling me? Okay, thank you,
- 7:40Speaker 3: that's enough.
- 7:41Speaker 2: You can tell already he's had a little too much
- 7:45Speaker 2: of you know, the uh pequila.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Probably So, by the way, it is Sinkle tomorrow.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Well you give me a couple of minutes. I was
- 7:52Speaker 3: going to talk about that. So, yes, second favorite holiday
- 7:56Speaker 3: maybe my favorite? What is your first? I was gonna
- 7:59Speaker 3: say Saint Patrick, but it might be sinko tomyo? Is
- 8:02Speaker 3: it really not Christmas? Nah? I like the drinking holidays.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Okay, whatever it gets you some fireball? Are you going
- 8:10Speaker 2: to go celebrate and partake of Cinco de Mayo.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Probably at least have some chips and salsa. Yeah, that's it.
- 8:15Speaker 3: You're not gonna have a beer. I might, we'll see.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I don't know, Michael. It's eight twelve in the morning.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I don't know what the day is going to bring.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Well, this is the one day and only day I
- 8:23Speaker 2: say I am not going to a Mexican restaurant. That's
- 8:26Speaker 2: smart because they're all packed as smart.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and there's I think how many are in my
- 8:31Speaker 3: little area that I live in. I think there's like three,
- 8:34Speaker 3: or there's four, four or five. It's like, that's my
- 8:38Speaker 3: biggest complaint about where I live is like, Okay, we
- 8:41Speaker 3: need something other than pizza and Mexican. I mean, isn't
- 8:44Speaker 3: that every city in the US, is it? Really? Oh yeah, yeah, Well,
- 8:48Speaker 3: they're a number Mexican restaurants. I mean when I go,
- 8:51Speaker 3: I love and partake. When I go to Cordon to
- 8:53Speaker 3: go to the other radio station I work for, I
- 8:56Speaker 3: mean I can literally stand on the porch of that
- 8:58Speaker 3: station and throw a rock and hit probably six different
- 9:01Speaker 3: Mexican res really.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I don't know how they make money. I
- 9:05Speaker 2: can tell you if you put in salsa in front
- 9:09Speaker 2: of me. In all four of the four or five
- 9:11Speaker 2: of the Mexican restaurants we have out there in prospect,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I could differentiate every one of them. No, you could, Yes,
- 9:17Speaker 2: I could. No, I could tell you which one is
- 9:19Speaker 2: from where. I don't buy that for not one. It's okay,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I appreciate your opinion. You're wrong, but I appreciate your opinion.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I could do it just like, just like I could
- 9:30Speaker 2: tell between a coke a dyke, a coke, an rc
- 9:34Speaker 2: in a PEPSI that's easy, is it really?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Yeah? By the way, we did that for Christmas. I
- 9:40Speaker 3: want to say two years ago. What before, we put
- 9:42Speaker 3: drinks like behind a box and we all had to
- 9:44Speaker 3: try to write down and guess what they were. I
- 9:48Speaker 3: nailed it out there. I think there were six drinks.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I went five for six. What are the six drinks?
- 9:52Speaker 3: It was like, I think it was coke, coke zero.
- 9:57Speaker 3: They were all sodas, But there was one that tripped
- 10:00Speaker 3: me out and I could not figure out for the
- 10:02Speaker 3: life of me what it was. And I was really
- 10:04Speaker 3: embarrassed when my mom moved the box and it was
- 10:07Speaker 3: doctor Pepper. You didn't know the difference in die pepper,
- 10:11Speaker 3: the flavor profile of doctor Pepper when you don't know
- 10:15Speaker 3: you're drinking Doctor Pepper is very confusing for your mouth.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I don't know if I could tell the difference between
- 10:21Speaker 2: doctor Pepper and mister Pib. I could really mister PiB's
- 10:25Speaker 2: more carbonate. I'd like to meet doctor Pepper and mister Pib.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Why didn't doctor Pepper get a PhD?
- 10:31Speaker 3: You think they got married?
- 10:33Speaker 2: I don't know. You think they're doctor mister and doctor Pepper?
- 10:36Speaker 2: Uh pib? Or whose names did they take?
- 10:38Speaker 3: No, doctor Pepper, I think would be a woman. That's
- 10:41Speaker 3: what I'm saying, because it's mister Pib. Yeah. Oh, we
- 10:44Speaker 3: shouldn't get into that subject, so all right, let's stop. Yeah, stop,
- 10:48Speaker 3: we're not doing that.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I don't want to get into all that kind of
- 10:52Speaker 2: crap because that gets political. But no, I I don't
- 10:55Speaker 2: think I can tell the difference between those two drinks.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I don't think I could tell the difference between Is
- 11:00Speaker 2: it there a mellow yellow and mountain as.
- 11:04Speaker 3: I always called mountain pew anything alike? No, and I
- 11:09Speaker 3: don't think there's it.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I think I could tell between uh barks cream soda
- 11:14Speaker 2: and big Red.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I can't tell that on this subject. It is weird.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I don't, are you really?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah? If somebody you know I don't want to donuts,
- 11:24Speaker 2: go get me a drink. I am thirsty as well.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And so anyway, your chip that you chip, a choice
- 11:31Speaker 2: that you like to go to and you're having a
- 11:33Speaker 2: soda a chip? Yeah, what what is your favorite chip?
- 11:38Speaker 3: Well, I don't drink. I don't eat chips with soda.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You don't. If I'm having I will smash some chips. Really,
- 11:45Speaker 3: so if you go out there and have some Doritos,
- 11:48Speaker 3: you'll have a beer with them. Yeah? Oh yeah, really
- 11:51Speaker 3: Actually Dorito's Nato cheese ones. That's one of my favorite combos.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I still like the Ranch. I'm a big Freedo guys.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Or as my dad used to say to It's funny
- 12:00Speaker 3: you bring that up because my roommate was eating some
- 12:02Speaker 3: cool Ranch Doritos last night. Yeah, and I hadn't had
- 12:05Speaker 3: them in years. So I reached in the bag, got
- 12:07Speaker 3: me a couple. Yeah they're good. Oh they're vand oh yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 3: I love. But my problem is I don't know if
- 12:13Speaker 3: I necessarily have a favorite one. I love cool Ranch
- 12:16Speaker 3: to ritos, I love free Do's, I love Cheetos, I
- 12:21Speaker 3: love sun chips. Mm hmm. I mean I can eat,
- 12:25Speaker 3: but you know, sun chips are kind of boring. And
- 12:27Speaker 3: then sour what is it? Creem is sour cream cheddar
- 12:31Speaker 3: and sour cream is the best laze. Yeah, those are fantastic. Yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Now I'm hungry and thirsty. So you want one of
- 12:37Speaker 3: my pop tarts I got over here.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, please don't tell me you have pop tarts. Okay,
- 12:42Speaker 2: I love pop tarts. I never toasted my favorite flavor, strawberry.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I gotta give you one. Then I gotta give.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You no, I do not want one that is yours,
- 12:51Speaker 3: so you gotta save it to after the show. Though.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yes, listen, big story came out yesterday. You kind of
- 12:59Speaker 2: blew it off. Yeah, but it's a big story. It's
- 13:03Speaker 2: not it's a big story for this show. But in
- 13:06Speaker 2: terms of my show, I didn't think it was that.
- 13:08Speaker 2: It's a big it's a big story. It's a whenever
- 13:11Speaker 2: you upset the king of UK media. You know, it's
- 13:15Speaker 2: a big, big story. And I saw this yesterday and
- 13:20Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, my good friends calling
- 13:23Speaker 2: me Oscar Combs. But in discussing this with me, and
- 13:28Speaker 2: we had a long conversation about last night because I'm
- 13:31Speaker 2: in I'm in absolute agreeance with him. And the big
- 13:34Speaker 2: story is that they are looking at doing a name
- 13:39Speaker 2: change of the historic Memorial Coliseum. Is memorl Coliseum for sale,
- 13:47Speaker 2: And obviously it's all about in a part of the
- 13:51Speaker 2: UK's revenue push, because UK's got to get revenue, especially
- 13:55Speaker 2: in the days of n I L and having to
- 13:58Speaker 2: pay athletes today. But there is a happy medium. Okay,
- 14:02Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you right now, but to sell
- 14:06Speaker 2: Memorial Coliseum's name and drop it all altogether like they
- 14:11Speaker 2: have done Commonwealth sam which in Michael Bennett's mouth, it
- 14:14Speaker 2: will always be Commonwealth Stadium. I'm not gonna call it
- 14:17Speaker 2: the grocery store Stadium. I'm just not going to. I
- 14:20Speaker 2: think it's a dumb name and they should change it back.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I don't care how much Kroger has given them. I
- 14:26Speaker 2: think that it should be a combination of both.
- 14:31Speaker 3: It should be Kroger Stadium at Kroger Field.
- 14:37Speaker 2: At Commonwealth Stadium. It should be a combination of both.
- 14:41Speaker 2: And why they just dumped Commonwealth Stadium is beyond me.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Now Here is why I have a problem with the
- 14:48Speaker 2: change of Memorial Coliseum. Have you ever had a family
- 14:54Speaker 2: member lost in a war justin No, you're lucky. If
- 15:00Speaker 2: you had, you would take more offense to this because
- 15:03Speaker 2: Memorial Coliseum is named after people that have lost their
- 15:09Speaker 2: lives fighting for our country. Okay, their names are on
- 15:13Speaker 2: a plaque at Memorial Coliseum. I have had a number
- 15:18Speaker 2: of people take me to that plaque and said, Michael,
- 15:22Speaker 2: this was my family member. And it could have been
- 15:25Speaker 2: from generations past. It could have been from maybe one generation.
- 15:30Speaker 2: That could be your brother. But would you take offense
- 15:34Speaker 2: if you had lost a family member that is on
- 15:37Speaker 2: the plaque at historic Memorial Coliseum. And now they changed
- 15:41Speaker 2: the name to blah blah Coliseum and drop all of Memorial.
- 15:49Speaker 3: So it's just gonna be like, for instance, Little Caesar's Colisseum. Yes,
- 15:55Speaker 3: so Memorial won't be a part of it anymore. Well,
- 15:58Speaker 3: we don't know.
- 16:00Speaker 2: They dropped Commonwealth Stadium, so what makes you think they're
- 16:02Speaker 2: gonna keep Memorole Coliseum.
- 16:06Speaker 3: So if they dropped.
- 16:07Speaker 2: It completely and named it uh Tech one Coliseum, would
- 16:14Speaker 2: you be offended?
- 16:17Speaker 3: So we've discussed something similar to this in past shows,
- 16:23Speaker 3: and a name change is only going to affect the
- 16:27Speaker 3: newest generations, right, I mean we're you still call it
- 16:30Speaker 3: Commonwealth Stadium. We we We've talked about how naming rights
- 16:35Speaker 3: are getting sold to stadiums, but we're still gonna call
- 16:37Speaker 3: the stadiums by their name, right, I mean, we're still
- 16:39Speaker 3: gonna matter. We're still gonna always call it lambeau Field,
- 16:42Speaker 3: even if they sell it to Walmart or whatever.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yes, but a generation from now they're not gonna call
- 16:47Speaker 2: it that anymore.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Well, generation from now you won't be around, So what's
- 16:51Speaker 3: the matter? Wow? Okay, Because you want to have your
- 16:54Speaker 3: family members commemorated for generations on. You don't want it
- 16:59Speaker 3: to stop.
- 17:00Speaker 2: So maybe this is Michael Bennett old school and this
- 17:03Speaker 2: is my old man take.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I don't think they're gonna drop the Memorial Coliseum. We
- 17:06Speaker 3: don't know that. We don't know that.
- 17:10Speaker 2: So they have again, they have dropped Commonwealth Stadium. If
- 17:14Speaker 2: if if that were the case, then they would have
- 17:16Speaker 2: named Kroger Field at Commonwealth Stadium. I don't know why
- 17:20Speaker 2: UK did that, other than the sponsor said the grocery
- 17:24Speaker 2: store said we don't want Commonwealth in this name.
- 17:27Speaker 3: We want to only name it.
- 17:29Speaker 2: After our grocery store, which is gonna be probably sold
- 17:32Speaker 2: in the next few years because Public has taken over
- 17:35Speaker 2: the state of Kentucky, which is a much better grocery
- 17:37Speaker 2: store anyway. So uh, I just look at this and think,
- 17:41Speaker 2: what a slap in the face. I just I don't
- 17:45Speaker 2: like it. And just right if it was a Reperina,
- 17:50Speaker 2: do you think Big Blue Nation is going to go
- 17:53Speaker 2: bonkers if they ever changed the name and dropped rupper
- 17:59Speaker 2: Now Central, the owner of Symptom Bank, has always said
- 18:02Speaker 2: I think it's like a twelve or fourteen year deal.
- 18:05Speaker 2: They will never drop Reperina, but the day might come
- 18:10Speaker 2: in the day of reckoning when they drop Reperina.
- 18:15Speaker 3: I don't see it. I don't think you can. You
- 18:17Speaker 3: can remove the name from any of these historical arenas. Coliseum.
- 18:22Speaker 3: That's why I don't think the Memorial Coliseum is going
- 18:24Speaker 3: to be dropped. I just think they're going to add
- 18:26Speaker 3: the sponsor on front of it. And I know you
- 18:27Speaker 3: said we don't know that, but I don't. Honestly, for me,
- 18:32Speaker 3: when I see that Oscar Combs tweet last night, I'm like,
- 18:35Speaker 3: I thought that was and I don't want to take
- 18:37Speaker 3: shots at Oscar. That's not my intention here at all.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I just I thought his tweet was a little bit overkill,
- 18:43Speaker 3: like that'll be the day I no longer support UK
- 18:46Speaker 3: Athletics and the people in charge here because if they
- 18:50Speaker 3: do literally just put a sponsor in front of a Memorial Coliseum,
- 18:53Speaker 3: that to me is not the worst thing, because you
- 18:56Speaker 3: need money, right, That's what makes the world go round.
- 19:00Speaker 3: The more money you can have, the better you're off
- 19:02Speaker 3: you're going to be. And that's where I'm okay with it.
- 19:05Speaker 2: If they do and keep it to where at least
- 19:08Speaker 2: you have Memorial Coliseum, you'd be good with that.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I would be good with that. About Oscars, he good
- 19:13Speaker 3: with that. No, he's not good with why. That's what
- 19:15Speaker 3: I don't understand. No, he's not good with it. So
- 19:18Speaker 3: you know, I asked, I said, Oscar, come on the
- 19:20Speaker 3: show and let's talk about it. No, Michael, I don't.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I don't want to get on the show and bring
- 19:24Speaker 2: up controversy right now. And I'm like, okay, But I
- 19:28Speaker 2: just feel like he is he is convinced that whatever
- 19:33Speaker 2: sponsor that's going to be UH sponsoring Memorial Coliseum is
- 19:38Speaker 2: going to say no, no, no, no, we don't want Memorial
- 19:40Speaker 2: part of it. If you want my money, then I
- 19:43Speaker 2: want my name and my name, my name only. And
- 19:48Speaker 2: I said, come on, you can negotiate. I've been in
- 19:50Speaker 2: sales my entire career. You can negotiate with him. That's
- 19:53Speaker 2: what UK should have done with the grocery store. You
- 19:56Speaker 2: should have negotiated with him to keep Commonwealth state involved
- 20:00Speaker 2: and say just call it the grocery store field at
- 20:03Speaker 2: CommonWell Stadium, and they chose not to. He said, you
- 20:06Speaker 2: can't do that. That grocery store is has hell been
- 20:11Speaker 2: on making certain their name is up there and their
- 20:14Speaker 2: name only.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I think that's selfish. Yeah, I mean I did. Look,
- 20:20Speaker 3: I did not expect that we would be having this
- 20:22Speaker 3: conversation today. I mean I did once I saw it.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I didn't either once I saw the text star tweet
- 20:27Speaker 2: yeah yeah, and then I got the phone calls, like, okay,
- 20:30Speaker 2: I know what my first topic is tomorrow. I've never
- 20:32Speaker 2: seen Oscar this upset, and he's really offended in upset
- 20:36Speaker 2: by this, and you know Oscar has a big say
- 20:39Speaker 2: in Big Blue Nation.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I just, I mean, I just I don't get it.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Like if it's still gonna be Memorial Coliseum, yes, if,
- 20:48Speaker 3: but he's convinced it's not going to be. Well, let's
- 20:51Speaker 3: wait and see. It's like people freaking out over the roster, right, like,
- 20:54Speaker 3: let's wait and see how it all plays out.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're right, let's wait and see. But it's
- 21:02Speaker 2: not it's not anything that's romantic or exciting.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I mean UK fan base when it comes to basketball
- 21:10Speaker 2: has had excitement for months when players were committing to
- 21:16Speaker 2: UK before the season started. And to see the players
- 21:20Speaker 2: that Mark Pope is currently getting. It's not sexy. There's
- 21:24Speaker 2: nothing romantic about it. So people are going to criticize
- 21:29Speaker 2: my noses itching like crazy too? Is it allergies?
- 21:33Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know. I'm going through the
- 21:35Speaker 3: same thing.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Is there isn't there Like when your ears itch, someone's
- 21:39Speaker 2: talking about you. When your ears ring, okay, when your
- 21:43Speaker 2: nose itches, you're somebody's talking about you.
- 21:45Speaker 3: I don't know what that. I think it means something.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And then uh, if your throat itches, someone's walking over
- 21:53Speaker 2: your grave.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 21:54Speaker 2: It's kind of weird stuff. My parents always said this.
- 21:58Speaker 2: You can look it up, but we gotta take a
- 22:00Speaker 2: our first break. Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty.
- 22:02Speaker 2: If you want to call in five oh two four
- 22:04Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty. You want to text in on
- 22:06Speaker 2: the Whiskey Ted text line, or you can tweet me
- 22:09Speaker 2: it just about you?
- 22:11Speaker 3: What about? What does? Okay? I thought so? Or it
- 22:15Speaker 3: could mean that someone is coming to visit. You got
- 22:17Speaker 3: any visitors you're expecting?
- 22:19Speaker 2: No, I had visited this weekend and they're gone now,
- 22:22Speaker 2: so maybe they're coming back. Oh do you think they're
- 22:24Speaker 2: coming back?
- 22:25Speaker 3: Baby? Oh wow, I'd be okay with it.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I love the mc namaras other than he's a Duke fan,
- 22:31Speaker 2: I mean there are he's a Duke. Well he went
- 22:34Speaker 2: to Duke, so I had to put up with that.
- 22:36Speaker 2: But he's become a Kentucky fan as well. Can you
- 22:38Speaker 2: be a fan of big rivals? Can you be a
- 22:40Speaker 2: UK and U of L fan or a UK and
- 22:42Speaker 2: Tennessee fan? Sure you can't. Sure, so you can be
- 22:46Speaker 2: an IU and Purdue fan. I mean it's not advised,
- 22:50Speaker 2: but yeah, got advised.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Sure you can.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a death wish. You're gonna bring that voodoo
- 22:55Speaker 2: lady back if you hear somebody that you meet like that. Okay,
- 22:58Speaker 2: all right, let's go ahead and take our first break.
- 22:59Speaker 2: A lot more to talk about. Stay right there, This
- 23:02Speaker 2: is Jessica on the road again.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I just can't wait to get all the rule again.
- 23:13Speaker 4: My my love is Bacon Unis with my friend. I
- 23:17Speaker 4: came to get all the rude again.
- 24:08Speaker 2: My name's John Lee pet.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Same as my daddy, as daddy.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Move Roy Holla ever song friend Daddy Daddy here.
- 24:26Speaker 1: They only come a tan of back class.
- 24:29Speaker 3: This. This might be a song I partake a little
- 24:32Speaker 3: too loud in the cars, driving a little too fast.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I love this song. Surprise you know this? Oh? Are
- 24:39Speaker 3: you kidding me? I have it on my phone. Wow.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I can't think of the name of the singer though,
- 24:44Speaker 2: Steve Steve or why would you think? I don't have
- 24:47Speaker 2: Steve Earl every I've even heard this song before.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Because I would consider this a country song and you're
- 24:51Speaker 3: just not a big real Yeah that is true, but
- 24:54Speaker 3: I don't know you think that's a country song? Really? Okay? Yeah?
- 24:58Speaker 2: I like Copperhead Rode that that's in Steve Earl. I
- 25:01Speaker 2: do like some of Steve Eurl' stuff. There are country
- 25:04Speaker 2: music seniors I like out there. I do like Alan Jackson.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I do like Brooks and Done. Not all their stuff,
- 25:09Speaker 2: but some of their stuff. And there's probably some real
- 25:13Speaker 2: twinkie country of Alan Jackson, I like, I do believe
- 25:17Speaker 2: it or not like some George Jones stuff. Wow, you
- 25:20Speaker 2: talk old school because my mom listened to George Jones.
- 25:23Speaker 3: You know what his nickname was? Uh, possum? Yeah, I
- 25:26Speaker 3: just learned that about a month ago. Oh you've never knew.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I didn't know or never known? Wow? Yeah I knew.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And you know how to spell possum, don't you? Oh?
- 25:37Speaker 3: Well yeah, which drives me nuts. Did he spell with
- 25:40Speaker 3: the Oh?
- 25:40Speaker 2: I have no idea, but o aposterphe that that's one
- 25:44Speaker 2: of those words. It's like, why do you put an
- 25:46Speaker 2: o who invented the word possum and said let's screw
- 25:50Speaker 2: everybody up? And you Yeah, exactly, I have never And
- 25:55Speaker 2: why is there th h e I r t h
- 25:58Speaker 2: E r E.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Now we're getting into I know, all right, we're good.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Way did you know possums eat five thousand ticks a year? Okay?
- 26:07Speaker 3: Not crazy? You reminded me there are two things you
- 26:11Speaker 3: have done so weird today. Okay. I just want everybody
- 26:15Speaker 3: to know weird things today, and everybody's going to know
- 26:19Speaker 3: right now.
- 26:20Speaker 2: So I get into the studio. You finish your show.
- 26:24Speaker 2: You come running over here. In the first thing you
- 26:26Speaker 2: say to me, not good morning, how you doing? I
- 26:29Speaker 2: had two ticks on me today. One was the tiniest
- 26:32Speaker 2: one I've ever seen in my life. I mean, why
- 26:34Speaker 2: would you tell me about too? So you should have
- 26:37Speaker 2: had a possum come up eat those things off? They
- 26:40Speaker 2: What else eats ticks? It's not just possums, is it.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I don't have any idea, but I've always heard they
- 26:46Speaker 3: eat five thousand a year, five thousand. Where do they
- 26:50Speaker 3: find possum? Do they smell them out? Do they just
- 26:53Speaker 3: randomly find them? I guess I don't know. Those are
- 26:55Speaker 3: scary looking at them? Possums are Yeah, Yeah, they're gross looking. Yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 3: they really are. The one. The one I would love
- 27:02Speaker 3: to have that that's out in the wild would be
- 27:04Speaker 3: a racket raccoon. Yeah. I love raccoons. If you could
- 27:08Speaker 3: raise one from the time it's a baby, yeah, I
- 27:11Speaker 3: think that would be fun. And I see those people
- 27:13Speaker 3: on social media. The other weird thing you just literally
- 27:16Speaker 3: said to me two minutes ago. I've said this one
- 27:18Speaker 3: on air before, so have you? Really? Longtime Big ex
- 27:21Speaker 3: listeners won't be surprised by those.
- 27:22Speaker 2: That if you because you know I was talking to
- 27:25Speaker 2: somebody out the window and you said, you know, if
- 27:28Speaker 2: I could have a baby without the woman, I would
- 27:31Speaker 2: be the happiest man in the world.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. I would want to raise a child
- 27:36Speaker 3: by yourself. I have always wanted to be a dad.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I have very rarely wanted to be a husband. Well,
- 27:45Speaker 3: you could meet a lady and not you know, just
- 27:49Speaker 3: be her friend and and not be your husband and
- 27:52Speaker 3: have kids together. Yeah, but then she gets the kid
- 27:54Speaker 3: half the time I want the kid. You could live
- 27:58Speaker 3: with her. You don't have to be married. I know
- 28:00Speaker 3: that's your defeating the whole purpose of all this. You
- 28:02Speaker 3: don't know that I don't want I don't want any
- 28:04Speaker 3: other drama filled with the woman. I can't imagine my
- 28:07Speaker 3: life without my wife. I mean, I'm happy for you,
- 28:10Speaker 3: it's great.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Okay, But but I can tell you when I was
- 28:14Speaker 2: your age, well, not when I when I was younger,
- 28:16Speaker 2: when I was first dating my wife, I never wanted
- 28:18Speaker 2: to get married, but then I did. I was scared
- 28:22Speaker 2: to death to get married.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I'm just saying, if I had to choose between baby
- 28:25Speaker 3: or marriage, I'm picking baby ten times out of ten.
- 28:28Speaker 2: And I can tell you when my wife first got
- 28:30Speaker 2: pregnant with our first child and our second when I
- 28:32Speaker 2: was scared to death because I knew I was too immature.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I still am. But here we are, and I wouldn't
- 28:38Speaker 2: change it. I wouldn't change getting married, and I wouldn't
- 28:41Speaker 2: change having kids.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I mean, I'm too immature as well, but that's part
- 28:44Speaker 3: of the fun of it, right, you can adopt. It
- 28:46Speaker 3: can be immature with the kids. They're a lot. Right.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Adoption agency would take one look at my house and
- 28:51Speaker 3: be like, yeah, you're.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Not fit to be a dad. I don't say that now.
- 28:54Speaker 2: We gotta all right. You could go out and be
- 28:56Speaker 2: a big brother. You never thought about that. No, you
- 29:00Speaker 2: should go out and be a big brother.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Then, Like, is that like when people go to the
- 29:06Speaker 3: animal places and they just bring a dog out for
- 29:09Speaker 3: the day. Is that what I'm doing? Am I just
- 29:11Speaker 3: adopt my kid out? That's exactly right.
- 29:14Speaker 2: You're going down to the pound and there are a
- 29:15Speaker 2: bunch of kids around there and you just pick out
- 29:18Speaker 2: one to rent for the day.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's what you do. Take a little Charlie out for
- 29:21Speaker 3: the next.
- 29:23Speaker 2: No, they're they're from single moms and you get to,
- 29:27Speaker 2: you know, take them out and take them to the
- 29:29Speaker 2: ball game, that kind of stuff, and then they go
- 29:31Speaker 2: back home to their mom.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Does the mom pay for all that? Because that'd be sweet.
- 29:34Speaker 3: I'm in ah, my goodness.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Share your wealth okay, even though you don't have a lot,
- 29:41Speaker 2: you you do have a lot, just because it's not monetary.
- 29:44Speaker 3: It's always money with you. Come on, man.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Anyway, one person texted in had to take a poop
- 29:51Speaker 2: during crosstalk. What did I miss? Oh boy, thanks for
- 29:55Speaker 2: letting us know. You can go listen on the pod.
- 29:57Speaker 2: What did we talk about?
- 29:58Speaker 3: I don't know, go listen on the PODCA that's the fRoots.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Yeah forty eight, handily said Kiki D. I was right
- 30:06Speaker 3: partly that Elton John song that was so bad? Yes,
- 30:11Speaker 3: Kiki D. Who sang that isn't it? Wasn't that the
- 30:14Speaker 3: name that the little girl gave herself? And uh, just
- 30:17Speaker 3: go with it?
- 30:18Speaker 2: That's right, Yes, it was, Yes, the one that came
- 30:22Speaker 2: out with it British Accident.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I didn't like her.
- 30:26Speaker 2: She got on my nerves in that movie. Every line
- 30:29Speaker 2: she said, It's like I had to mute it every
- 30:31Speaker 2: time I see that movie. She was frustrating to me. Oh,
- 30:34Speaker 2: I thought she was great. Really okay. Do you ever
- 30:36Speaker 2: watch a movie where people just irritate you in the
- 30:39Speaker 2: movie and it's a good movie, but then it's ruined
- 30:42Speaker 2: by the one Yeah she did that for me.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Her name was Kiki d. Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 2: There are a number of movies like that. This is like,
- 30:49Speaker 2: I don't like you. I don't think i'd say that
- 30:52Speaker 2: to their face. But one person texted in, Hey, Scoot,
- 30:55Speaker 2: it's Jamie. Hey Scoots, wanted to let you know there
- 30:58Speaker 2: isn't any sound on YouTube. I fixed that, Oh you did,
- 31:02Speaker 2: so they could see us but not hear a word
- 31:04Speaker 2: we're saying for.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Like the first twelve minutes of the show. Oh yeah, gosh,
- 31:08Speaker 3: that's fine. We corrected it. Really cool. So Jamie, you're
- 31:11Speaker 3: listening on YouTube. That is another Jamie. That's not cop Jamie.
- 31:16Speaker 3: I know it's not I know it's another Jamie. But wow,
- 31:18Speaker 3: that's interesting. I just wish I knew which camera I
- 31:21Speaker 3: was supposed to look in when we're doing YouTube.
- 31:23Speaker 2: But yeah, you can listen to us on YouTube. All
- 31:25Speaker 2: you gotta do is go search Big X Sports Radio.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Louis.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I've never done this before. I need to go look
- 31:33Speaker 2: at how ridiculous look above the camera that's on your computer.
- 31:38Speaker 2: That's the one you need to be looking at. That
- 31:40Speaker 2: one right there, this one, no, the one above it, Okay, the.
- 31:43Speaker 3: One that has the white light on. It looks like
- 31:45Speaker 3: it's aiming way over there. Well, it's looking right at you.
- 31:49Speaker 3: It is really okay, good, I'm glad it is so
- 31:51Speaker 3: all right. I'll just have to get used to this.
- 31:53Speaker 2: But uh, one person said, classic scoots assuming genders of
- 31:57Speaker 2: soda creators.
- 32:01Speaker 3: That is true, that's just I mean, we're just having
- 32:06Speaker 3: some fun. I mean, mister Pips very obviously a dude. Really,
- 32:11Speaker 3: mister some ladies out there, yeah yeah, And then you know,
- 32:19Speaker 3: I like to play doctor, but I'm not a doctor,
- 32:21Speaker 3: so doesn't necessarily mean I My dad had a friend.
- 32:25Speaker 3: His friend went.
- 32:26Speaker 2: By the name Doc, and he was not a doctor,
- 32:29Speaker 2: but everyone called him Doc.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Why do you think that is? I have no idea.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Possums are marsipials, supials, marsupials. They know what a marsupial is.
- 32:40Speaker 3: I have no idea. Are they night that's a marsupials?
- 32:45Speaker 3: Have the pouches? Oh? They do kind of like a kangaroo. Correct.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I did not know that raccoons are terrible pets. They
- 32:53Speaker 2: get they all get mean. I've heard that wives.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Give a point. I'd rather take much chancel the raccoon.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Here we go. I love this. Of course, fancy pants
- 33:04Speaker 3: Bennett is too good for Kroger. You know. The funny
- 33:09Speaker 3: part is, mister Illinois, my family shops more at Walmart
- 33:15Speaker 3: than we go to Kroger, just to let you know.
- 33:19Speaker 3: So there.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I don't go to fancy pants Kroger either, but I
- 33:24Speaker 2: will tell you when it comes to fruit and meat,
- 33:27Speaker 2: I go to publics. I don't go to Kroger. Subs
- 33:32Speaker 2: are good. I hear the fried chicken is really good too.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah, we didn't get a chance to talk about in
- 33:38Speaker 2: Cuba yesterday? Did we sixty eight going to seventy six
- 33:41Speaker 2: teams in the tournament? Why are you what? I'm I'm
- 33:47Speaker 2: against it, But it's all play in. That's the part
- 33:50Speaker 2: I think they made it okay. So that's where I
- 33:54Speaker 2: think the seventy going from sixty eight to six seventy
- 33:57Speaker 2: six Phillip seventy six is is okay. Wouldn't that be
- 34:01Speaker 2: cool if Phillip seventy six sponsored the play in games?
- 34:07Speaker 2: I would do you even know what Phillip seventy six
- 34:09Speaker 2: pitch it, Michael, I, yeah, I should. I should work
- 34:13Speaker 2: for the un C DOAA and go say here's the idea, guys,
- 34:16Speaker 2: We're going to Phillip seventy six and we're going to
- 34:19Speaker 2: pitch this to them.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Isn't it sixty six? Set? I thought, oh, is it? Oh?
- 34:24Speaker 2: It might be Phillip sixty six. Okay, I screwed up
- 34:26Speaker 2: it is. Oh, well, well they need to change their
- 34:28Speaker 2: name and then become a sponsor. I'll pitch it that way. Yeah,
- 34:31Speaker 2: Phillip sixty six. I knew I was close, But there's three.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Corey Price would say they were three off. Okay, just
- 34:37Speaker 2: to let you know it should be Phillips you know
- 34:40Speaker 2: that other number.
- 34:41Speaker 3: But yeah, I like this.
- 34:45Speaker 2: And it's a way that I think it's a good compromise.
- 34:48Speaker 2: So I you know, you rolled your eyes when we
- 34:51Speaker 2: briefly talked about it last week. But why are you
- 34:54Speaker 2: rolling your eyes when the concept is you're bringing this
- 34:57Speaker 2: in as a play in game and I love it.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Those games are gonna become hugely popular. I just I
- 35:03Speaker 2: think you're watering it down. Like if you're not good
- 35:06Speaker 2: enough to get in as one of the best sixty
- 35:08Speaker 2: eight teams, why are we allowing for eight more spots
- 35:12Speaker 2: to get into this tournament. Like that's that's the one
- 35:15Speaker 2: thing I don't understand. If you're not good enough to
- 35:18Speaker 2: make the field of sixty eight, nothing tells me that
- 35:22Speaker 2: you're good enough to make the field of seventy six. Yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 2: but it's taking a lot. Okay, I'm gonna play devil's
- 35:27Speaker 2: advocate because I'm probably there with you, but it's gonna
- 35:30Speaker 2: take away the controversy. Well, they should have been played in,
- 35:34Speaker 2: you know, that would have gotten most likely Auburn in
- 35:36Speaker 2: the play in game.
- 35:37Speaker 3: That's the controversy that makes the NCAA tournament great though,
- 35:41Speaker 3: the fact that every year we have these debates about
- 35:44Speaker 3: which team should be in, which team shouldn't. If we
- 35:47Speaker 3: got if we went to seventy six this year, this
- 35:50Speaker 3: past year and Auburn would have got in at seventeen
- 35:53Speaker 3: and sixteen, you would have seen me blow a freaking top.
- 35:56Speaker 3: And that's the kind of situations that I want to avoid.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I don't want want Auburn's to be in the tournament
- 36:01Speaker 3: when they're one game over five hundred. Yeah, but they
- 36:05Speaker 3: won the n I T so should they have been in?
- 36:08Speaker 3: And Miami, of all the bestam, you're interrupting me. Miami
- 36:13Speaker 3: of Ohio lost in their very first game. They lost
- 36:18Speaker 3: in their second and their second game, okay, and so
- 36:20Speaker 3: did they really deserve to be in Yeah? I have
- 36:22Speaker 3: one loss. Oh god, you're all worked up. I am.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Let me finish, folk, let me finish, all right? Uh?
- 36:30Speaker 3: What would it?
- 36:30Speaker 2: Wouldn't it have been fun if the playing game was
- 36:33Speaker 2: between Auburn and Miami of Ohio.
- 36:35Speaker 3: No, it would not have been No, I disagree with you.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I would have loved that. All right, go ahead before
- 36:41Speaker 3: it is officially US. I don't have anything else to say.
- 36:43Speaker 3: I just my point is I don't want a seventeen
- 36:46Speaker 3: and sixteen Auburn team in the in the field. I
- 36:49Speaker 3: just don't. Well, that's what's gonna happen. That doesn't I
- 36:51Speaker 3: know used to. That's why I'm against this. The only
- 36:54Speaker 3: saving grace for this is I now have four more
- 36:57Speaker 3: games to gamble on. So hell you out of that? Okay.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Well, and that's the positive part, So stop rolling your
- 37:02Speaker 2: eyes getting upset.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Now you get more games to gamble on. I just
- 37:05Speaker 3: I don't know. The NCAA is just they're out to
- 37:08Speaker 3: create the worst product possible ever since what the last
- 37:13Speaker 3: ten to fifteen years. Right, it's their goal to just
- 37:16Speaker 3: be as bad as humanly possible. Yeah, but all right,
- 37:19Speaker 3: here's what's got of kept that at sixty four. Here's
- 37:21Speaker 3: what's funny to me is that you know you don't
- 37:24Speaker 3: want to spend money on a kid, on a baby,
- 37:27Speaker 3: You want everything to come to you, Yet you want
- 37:30Speaker 3: to go gamble and spend money on that. Yeah. I
- 37:32Speaker 3: can't buy anything for the kid for two dollars. I
- 37:35Speaker 3: could throw two dollars on a game. You sure can
- 37:37Speaker 3: buy things for a kid for two dollars. What a lollipop?
- 37:40Speaker 3: There you go.
- 37:41Speaker 2: You just bought something for a kid, and I probably
- 37:43Speaker 2: think I would guarantee they're happy. You can go to
- 37:47Speaker 2: my favorite Circle K and get a solar pop for
- 37:50Speaker 2: seventy nine cents. Okay, there you go. Now, don't say
- 37:55Speaker 2: solar pop. Go in there and say polar pop. You
- 37:57Speaker 2: don't want to embarrass yourself. I might just say it
- 37:59Speaker 2: just to say, okay, I certainly do. I love Circle
- 38:03Speaker 2: K because I can go put my thing under that
- 38:04Speaker 2: little radar thing and it magically knows how much I
- 38:07Speaker 2: need to pay, and I don't have to talk to anybody,
- 38:09Speaker 2: and I'm out of there in a second.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Apparently they got like forty percent off gas on Wednesdays
- 38:14Speaker 3: or something. I was here. Really I need to do
- 38:16Speaker 3: some more.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Wow, you've heard about the controversy with Walmart and them
- 38:22Speaker 2: weighing frozen shrimp. They're actually weighing it heaver that heavier
- 38:25Speaker 2: than it actually islievable, and people are starting to wonder
- 38:29Speaker 2: what's going on with their weight system. Yeah, anyway, I
- 38:34Speaker 2: love controversy. I think controversy is fun. Uh, just you
- 38:38Speaker 2: got to keep it in tone, though, Okay, you know,
- 38:41Speaker 2: every now and then, you I do like it when
- 38:43Speaker 2: you get worked up though.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Every now and then, Oh you want to get me
- 38:45Speaker 3: worked up, bring up the expansion in the NCAA tournament.
- 38:48Speaker 3: That'll happen ten times. There's going to be another subject
- 38:51Speaker 3: that's probably going to get you worked up in just
- 38:52Speaker 3: a little bit. Yeah, all right, Oh my gosh, we
- 38:54Speaker 3: gotta take it solely. Yeah, sorry about that, all right?
- 38:57Speaker 3: Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty five two
- 39:00Speaker 3: four one four fourteen fifty. We'll get your text in
- 39:03Speaker 3: as soon as we get back as well. Stay right there.
- 39:04Speaker 3: This is just in the middle of that burn my
- 39:08Speaker 3: climbs some quarterback.
- 39:10Speaker 4: He's hitting down the Knoxville with a weakly loose you
- 39:13Speaker 4: can smell a whiskey burning down cavalry roots.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Oool son't wait?
- 39:47Speaker 3: How the roots? So you clearly know what movie this
- 40:00Speaker 3: is from, and it always freaked me out when I
- 40:03Speaker 3: first learned who really sings the song.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Lindsey bucking exactly. And do you know who Lindsey Buckingham is?
- 40:10Speaker 3: They? Uh from Fleetwood.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Mac exactly, the lead guitarist. Nice job, Yeah you know,
- 40:17Speaker 2: the lead guitarist. And yeah, very good, you finally get one.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Holy smokes, congratulations. Okay, I'm bumped. Yeah yeah, who did
- 40:26Speaker 2: you say? Turns on YouTube here in the studio to
- 40:30Speaker 2: watch themselves as they're doing a show. TJ used to Yeah,
- 40:32Speaker 2: this is weird. I'm not I can't do this. It's
- 40:35Speaker 2: oh he would put it. You got it on your
- 40:37Speaker 2: like iPad or whatever? Yes, I know he would put
- 40:39Speaker 2: it on the big TV in there. What do you
- 40:42Speaker 2: really I don't understand because you're looking down at me.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I want to see what the view was of me,
- 40:47Speaker 2: and you're looking down I'm not even looking at the camera.
- 40:49Speaker 2: It's like, okay, why do people want to watch me
- 40:51Speaker 2: on YouTube? When I'm looking down the entire time.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Some people just like to see.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then you can look and see how
- 40:58Speaker 2: ridiculous I am. Let me get to a couple of
- 41:00Speaker 2: other texts here five of two, four one four, fourteen
- 41:03Speaker 2: fifty one. Zach said it is indeed twenty twenty six.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I watched a video the other day where a cop
- 41:10Speaker 2: pulled over a guy that claimed he was a cat.
- 41:13Speaker 3: They caught.
- 41:14Speaker 2: The cop said cats can't drive a car and that
- 41:18Speaker 2: he was calling animal control. And you know the funny
- 41:22Speaker 2: part is, Zach, I watched that exact exact clip and
- 41:26Speaker 2: he claimed to be a cat. But but you know what,
- 41:29Speaker 2: if you watch S and L in the nineteen nineties,
- 41:32Speaker 2: Tots's could drive a cat. He was the driving cat. Great, great,
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah you didn't watch Tuns's, did you?
- 41:39Speaker 3: No? I loved it. Tuts is the driving cat. I
- 41:43Speaker 3: love that. I mean, yeah, didn't we have a situation
- 41:46Speaker 3: last school year where I can't even remember what school
- 41:49Speaker 3: it was, but there was all these students that was
- 41:50Speaker 3: claiming they were cats. Oh really, I don't remember that.
- 41:54Speaker 3: It was here in Louisville somewhere, I can't remember where
- 41:56Speaker 3: that were they being seriously just Oh yeah, no, they
- 41:58Speaker 3: were all dressed up and everything. Yeah, ok, Allen and
- 42:02Speaker 3: all that. Yeah, Okay.
- 42:04Speaker 2: One person, the guy who concocted the Doctor Pepper drink,
- 42:08Speaker 2: was a soda jerk who gave it to his employer.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Not sure if he was compensated. You know what a
- 42:17Speaker 2: soda jerk is to you The old pharmacies where people
- 42:23Speaker 2: actually took syrup and added soda to it. Nothing was
- 42:27Speaker 2: mixed together, so they would just make up their own concoctions.
- 42:31Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't know why they're called soda jerks.
- 42:34Speaker 2: There's got to be a meaning for that, but yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 2: it was the old pharmacies. In fact, there was one
- 42:40Speaker 2: I remember going to, one in Nashville, Tennessee, and one
- 42:43Speaker 2: in Lexington, Kentucky. I don't know if the one in
- 42:45Speaker 2: Lexington is still there, but I remember going to there's
- 42:49Speaker 2: downtown Lexington, not far from Reperenum. If anybody remembers the name,
- 42:54Speaker 2: please let me know. And this was within the last
- 42:56Speaker 2: fifteen twenty years. Made the best malta.
- 43:00Speaker 3: In the world. Oh it's fantastic. Yeah I missed that.
- 43:04Speaker 2: One person said, Bucky's memorial at Kroger Field. Yes, and
- 43:12Speaker 2: they could sell the uh what's the big meat that
- 43:16Speaker 2: they sail there.
- 43:17Speaker 3: It's the brisket on the board. Yeah, smoke brisket. It
- 43:21Speaker 3: is good, but they charge way too much for you.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Ever had their smoke turkey? No, I'm not a big
- 43:26Speaker 3: turkey guy. It's their smoke turkey sandwich is unbelievable. Really, Yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 3: I'm just, I just, I'm not. Here's my problem with BUCkies.
- 43:34Speaker 3: I don't ever want to go back to one. I've
- 43:36Speaker 3: been to one. It was fine, it was cool, But man,
- 43:40Speaker 3: I crave those German roasted nuts all the time from BUCkies. Yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 3: I don't like that. I need to go there. Not
- 43:48Speaker 3: into it. But congratulations for being you don't like the
- 43:51Speaker 3: German roasted nuts. Nope, nope, nope, not interested. I do
- 43:55Speaker 3: want to talk about this Nebraska. Did you see what
- 43:58Speaker 3: they're spending? So they just renovated or built their new stadium.
- 44:04Speaker 3: They spent six hundred million dollars on it, which they
- 44:09Speaker 3: are projecting The Huskers are projecting to generate ninety five
- 44:13Speaker 3: million dollars in annual revenue, which is a forty percent
- 44:17Speaker 3: increase over last year. Now here's the thing. Two hundred
- 44:20Speaker 3: and fifty million was raised by donors three hundred and
- 44:25Speaker 3: fifty million in private bond financing. Okay, so this is
- 44:29Speaker 3: not costing. Oh it's costing, but still they had some
- 44:32Speaker 3: big donors that gave a lot of money. The AD
- 44:35Speaker 3: is boasting that the newly renovated stadium is designed to
- 44:38Speaker 3: be utilized not just for seven games out of the year.
- 44:42Speaker 3: They project it's going to be used year round for concerts,
- 44:46Speaker 3: events and entertainment. Uh and uh.
- 44:51Speaker 2: And I saw this and I thought, Okay, is this
- 44:55Speaker 2: what UK is trying to do with the new entertainment
- 45:00Speaker 2: center that they are looking at moving forward with. You know,
- 45:05Speaker 2: they're taking over what is now known as the I
- 45:08Speaker 2: think it's the green lot over there where what is
- 45:12Speaker 2: it BCTs Bluegrass Community and Technological School Technological there we go, Yeah, BCTs,
- 45:22Speaker 2: that's pretty good.
- 45:23Speaker 3: I even remembered that. But uh, cause I don't know.
- 45:27Speaker 2: I look at this, and I've always looked at stadiums,
- 45:30Speaker 2: football stadiums in college campuses as a complete waste of
- 45:34Speaker 2: money because you look at how much they underutilize it,
- 45:41Speaker 2: and I think, Okay, if they make an entertainment district,
- 45:45Speaker 2: maybe it does get utilized a lot more and make
- 45:49Speaker 2: it to where that is a revenue center that UK
- 45:54Speaker 2: desperately needs. Right now, what are your thoughts on UK
- 45:56Speaker 2: moving forward on the entertainment district.
- 45:59Speaker 3: See the entertain Yeah, I don't know. I mean I
- 46:02Speaker 3: assume you will attach it all to the stadium. That's yes,
- 46:06Speaker 3: that's the goal of it all. Yes, if you can
- 46:08Speaker 3: book X in Kroger Field, then yeah, I say you
- 46:11Speaker 3: do it again. It goes back to money. Every the
- 46:15Speaker 3: more money you have, the better off you're gonna be.
- 46:17Speaker 3: So if you can find a way to generate money,
- 46:20Speaker 3: like doing a concert or so in the in the stadium, sure,
- 46:23Speaker 3: I'm all for it. Let's do it.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Well.
- 46:24Speaker 2: I mean, it seems like more and more concerts today
- 46:28Speaker 2: are going to outdoor stadiums. Somebody put up a design
- 46:33Speaker 2: of a UK stadium that had the roof over Commonwealth
- 46:37Speaker 2: that was in the shape of a wildcat head. It
- 46:39Speaker 2: was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. I'm like, how
- 46:42Speaker 2: do we get that done? So anyway, let's go ahead
- 46:44Speaker 2: and take a break. Hour two coming up in just
- 46:46Speaker 2: a couple of minutes.
- 46:47Speaker 1: This is Just the Cats. Welcome to Just the Cats
- 47:09Speaker 1: with Michael.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Bennett Bibo two three four, fourteen fifty.
- 47:15Speaker 2: You want to call in Pablo two fourteen fifty. If
- 47:18Speaker 2: you want to call in the whiskey thief text liner,
- 47:20Speaker 2: you tweek me at just the Cat Radio. One person
- 47:23Speaker 2: texted in Elliston Place soda shop in Nashville, Tennessee is
- 47:27Speaker 2: one of the best old time soda shops that I've
- 47:30Speaker 2: been to. Gotta check it out when you're in Nashville
- 47:33Speaker 2: next time. I I thank you very much. I have
- 47:37Speaker 2: been there, and you are correct. It is a fantastic
- 47:42Speaker 2: All the old time places are going away. Another place
- 47:45Speaker 2: I used to go to in Nashville was Verrelli's Chili
- 47:50Speaker 2: that my dad went to as a kid and he
- 47:53Speaker 2: took me as a kid, is now gone, which I
- 47:55Speaker 2: just learned last week, which I was really disappointed.
- 47:58Speaker 3: But better than Skyline, it was.
- 48:00Speaker 2: It was better than Skyline. Yes, But what are some
- 48:03Speaker 2: of the old time restaurants you grew up going to
- 48:06Speaker 2: that are no longer. I've never been to Dizzey Whiz,
- 48:09Speaker 2: and it seems like everybody talks about Disney Whiz.
- 48:12Speaker 3: The one that immediately comes to mind for me would
- 48:15Speaker 3: be Ryan's. Remember Ryan's the It's still isn't there one
- 48:20Speaker 3: down here on on Breckinridge and Taylorsville Road.
- 48:28Speaker 2: I think there is. I think it's still there, but
- 48:32Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. But isn't There's Ponderosas. Ponderosa is
- 48:35Speaker 2: still around.
- 48:36Speaker 3: There's one uh in Scottsburg, Well, there used to be.
- 48:39Speaker 3: I don't know if it's still there or not really.
- 48:41Speaker 3: And I think that Ryan's place is right down here
- 48:43Speaker 3: Breaking Ridge. Now all Ryan's officially closed, as one did
- 48:48Speaker 3: they It's been that long. Wow long John Silver's I
- 48:51Speaker 3: still loved. My roommate got that the other day. Those crunchies,
- 48:55Speaker 3: Oh those are fantastic. Makes me happy.
- 48:58Speaker 2: One person said. Random question of the day. How is
- 49:01Speaker 2: the state of community college in Kentucky? Where I grew
- 49:05Speaker 2: up North community college were common and have really increased
- 49:09Speaker 2: in popularity and value since I left down here. I've
- 49:12Speaker 2: only seen a couple and never met anyone who graduated
- 49:16Speaker 2: from one. I know a few who attended for about
- 49:19Speaker 2: a semester, but that's about it. That's a political question.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Yeah it is, and it's a shame that U of
- 49:31Speaker 2: L got their hands involved in this. Listen, the community
- 49:35Speaker 2: college in the colleges in the state of Kentucky used
- 49:38Speaker 2: to be phenomenal. They are all associated with University Kentucky.
- 49:43Speaker 2: So what I would do, I would take my toughest
- 49:45Speaker 2: classes at Jefferson Community College downtown Louisville in the summer,
- 49:50Speaker 2: because I knew I could go down there, get help,
- 49:52Speaker 2: smaller classes, smaller everything, and I would get my rough
- 49:55Speaker 2: ones out of the way, and that would transfer would
- 50:00Speaker 2: be no big deals like I was at UK. And
- 50:02Speaker 2: unfortunately U L got their sneaky, little dirty hands involved
- 50:06Speaker 2: and screwed up the community college system and some political
- 50:09Speaker 2: people as well. And it's just a shame would happen
- 50:12Speaker 2: with the community college system in Kentucky because now it's
- 50:16Speaker 2: I think it's pretty difficult to get those classes transferred.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Maybe somebody will tell me maybe I'm wrong about that,
- 50:22Speaker 2: But anyway, we'll get to more of those textans just
- 50:25Speaker 2: a little bit. But right now, you know, it's Tuesday,
- 50:27Speaker 2: and you know what that means, don't you. Justin Corey
- 50:49Speaker 2: Price is in the house today on his Tuesday enjoying
- 50:53Speaker 2: himself over there.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Did you enjoy the May the fourth be with you?
- 50:56Speaker 3: Or are you more.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Interested in the Cinco de Mayo? Corey Price, stop texting
- 51:00Speaker 2: talk to me. You're on YouTube, for heaven's sakes, he's not.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Oh he's not. Okay, good, here we go again.
- 51:08Speaker 3: There it is? Yeah, not YouTube. Hello. I prefer may
- 51:13Speaker 3: the fourth be with you? It just sounds cooler. It
- 51:16Speaker 3: does sounds like you got a lift. That's what I
- 51:18Speaker 3: always think. It made a fourth be with you? I
- 51:21Speaker 3: might uh, I fearifully it does? It make you sound
- 51:25Speaker 3: like you have a lyft Okay, Mike Tyson, So I
- 51:29Speaker 3: love that.
- 51:30Speaker 2: I love the impression of Eddie Murphy doing Mike Tyson
- 51:33Speaker 2: right next to Mike Tyson. Funniest thing ever if you've
- 51:36Speaker 2: never seen that video. I did trivia last night. There
- 51:41Speaker 2: was some Star Star War stuff, not a whole lot,
- 51:44Speaker 2: but my team once I was wow, where where was this?
- 51:49Speaker 3: Uh?
- 51:49Speaker 5: It's in or at Flannigan's in Highlands, Baxtra Avenue and more.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Well, now we're not giving me a dress out. I mean,
- 51:58Speaker 2: come on, why don't you just go ahead and give
- 52:00Speaker 2: them their store hours. They don't take reservations, just show
- 52:03Speaker 2: up and drink their beer. My goodness, Yeah it wasn't ad.
- 52:08Speaker 3: You asked where. I just said what it was? Yeah,
- 52:13Speaker 3: exactly at a spot god in the Highlands. Okay, good
- 52:18Speaker 3: same on the Islands that we don't sponsor. Sorry exactly.
- 52:22Speaker 3: I mean you could have said Wholesopple just outright lied,
- 52:24Speaker 3: but at least we got a sponsor out of the way.
- 52:27Speaker 3: That's true. I'm sorry. Well, then everybody went to it
- 52:29Speaker 3: went to Wholesopple next Monday for trivia and been mad
- 52:31Speaker 3: that it wasn't there.

- 54:27Speaker 3: that's great. Things were better when we didn't know Corey
- 54:30Speaker 3: so well. Exactly, we're getting to know Corey a little
- 54:33Speaker 3: too well. Man. That's tough crowd. Yeah.

- 1:09:47Speaker 5: Wow Worst Supporting Actress, but they didn't win. So I
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: I'm not I would say it's a good thing that
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: they didn't win.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Last one.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: May ninth, twenty twenty five, Just just last year, UK
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: baseball Defeast Number four Oklahoma four to three at Kentucky
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: prow Park. Is UK's first ever game played against the
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: Singers in school history. UK scored all four of its
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: runs in the third inning, and Luke Lawrence and James
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: McCory led the walkcast for two hits eh and Cole
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: Haig hit a two run home run.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Wow, I've got one for you. Are you ready for this?
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: On this state? In nineteen sixty one, year twelve astronaut
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Alan Shepard became the second person to go into space.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: Sixty five years ago in his spaceship that was known
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: as Freedom seven.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Amazing. Yeah.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: He was selected as one of NASA's original Marcury seven astronauts.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: In nineteen fifty nine. He entered space but did not
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: orbit because his spaceship wasn't designed to. Or who was
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: the first person in space? It was a Russian guy?
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Russia got into space first, United Darn Russians exactly.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: And well that was a big deal back then. So
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: you are correct because that was a part of the
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Cold War. Oh the Cold War. Look, I believe in
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: all the space travel and stuff, but can we really
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: shouldn't we doubt the legitimacy of Russia going up first? Oh?
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: Why because you don't think they really did? Right?
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: Russia has smart I mean people too, I mean I
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: mean there's an actillion of them.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Well, we got to the moon first, so that's exactly,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Thank you very much. All right, Corey, Well, always fun
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: having you here. Uh, there is one bit of one
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: text I want to read before you go. Uh, justin
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: you bring up a good piece of trivia. Sam probably
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: broke the two minute mark, but at that time only
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: the winner of the Derby was officially timed.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: How about that? I did not know that?
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: So I love the Derby trivia stuff. I think I
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: think Shane was like one nine point eight.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: I believe, I think they and the guy's probably right.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: I'm assuming they time them all now. Oh yes, oh yeah, look,
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: yeah that's easy to today.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: But yeah, can we just say that Travis, Uh, what's it?
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: I can't think of his last Yes, Stone that does
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: the announcing, I don't know. Did you see the video
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: of him doing He didn't use a single note. He
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: had every horse jockey totally in uh memorized.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: I mean for the Derby that's probably easy, yes, but
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: for me it's it's way more impressive that he does
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: that for the undercards now, every for every race. Now
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: he does have that thing that he puts around his
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: neck that he built himself, which I think is fascinating.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: It is, But yeah, I mean you probably hears so
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: much about the Derby horses throughout the week. I feel
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: like I could probably do that. You think so well.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I mean, but there's twenty horses in the race. That's
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: eighteen this year. I don't memorize what numbers they are though.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: Oh no, no, I could.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: I think we all could, but I just don't do it.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: But the fact that he does the Derby and does
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: every other race on top of it all, it's just
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: amazing to watch. So they shout out to you. But anyway,
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: all right, chriit price big plans.
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: I'm going to the softball game today.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Actually, are you really, Lee Mcurley? I'm going, uh not good?
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: Finished one in twenty three in the SEC they won
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: the first game, lost their next twenty three. I'm going
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: because you know, I don't want to speak it into existence,
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: but this might be lost in last game as coach.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: Oh it is, I and might I mean, I don't know.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: I mean, I would like for her to come back,
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: but she's retiring. No, no, I mean just they've done terrible.
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: I mean, oh, they're going to fire. I mean maybe,
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: I mean, do you bring a coach back after going
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: one one in twenty three? I mean that's their overall record. No, No,
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: the record is twenty six to twenty eight and conference
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: play they were one in twenty three.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but she's been the greatest softball player I coach
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: that UK's ever had their nineteenth year, So I mean
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: famous softball player at UK. I think it's easy. So
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: that means they were twenty seven and three at one point.
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: Yeah, well no, because they play games during the week
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: that aren't our conference so much. Everybodob heabby, cheap, heavy,
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: cheek Kelsey Nunley, Oh never mind, Okay, Taylor Kawalik, Yeah, okay,
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: Katie Reied listen to this guy.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: That's suppressive.
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: Yeah, but I mean, I mean blame me. I I
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: don't want to leave. Just my gut feeling is one
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: in twenty three you might not come back. So that's
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: why I'm going to.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: I see. I think you let the next ady truth
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: kind of stuff.
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: Not not somebody that's going Mitchell leaving, so it probably
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: wouldn't make sense for him to Yeah, so we'll see. Yeah,
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: I'm going today, so good hopefully win. All right, Well,
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: good to see you, Cory, Good to see you, always,
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: good to see you. I mean, I love that never
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: great to see Scoots though. Yeah, whatever, suck it, Scoots.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: All right, we're gonna take a break. That's Corey Price.
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: Everybody five O two three four fourteen fifty five two
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: four one four fourteen fifty. If you want to text
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: in on the Whiskey Thief text line, you can do that.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: We'll get back to your text as soon as we
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: get back.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: Plus, I got to talk a little rumor that's coming
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: out out there in the NBA land.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: We'll see if it's true or not very soon. Stay
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: right there. More just the cats coming.
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: Up roll.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: My hear force in the morning.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: She calls me.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: The me of my.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: All right, we can uh bring that off right now
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: because I'm not a fan. Just yeah, I'm not a fan.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Uh anyway, thank you. I appreciate that was quick.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: How do you like that?
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: There are some songs I don't know. As soon as
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: I hear it, I know exactly who it is. And
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: I knew who that was right there. And you probably
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: like her, don't you?
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: No? Not really?
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: Okay, good, Yeah, I'm just going with the road, so
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: I knew you were, and I appreciate that. I like
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: that because I picked red dirt Road today. But uh, Uh,
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: here's a road. I don't know what a lot of
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: people are thinking of Billy Donna then is really, why
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: did I say that?
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: So weird? That was weird.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: Billy Donovan is rumored to be in the running for
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: the Olander Uh good Lord Orlando Magic job. Of course,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: wasn't he up for that? Like not too long ago?
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: Well maybe years because they just they've had their coach
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: for five years. Yeah, but I mean before that maybe so.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: And I'm like, Okay, you can look at this a
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: couple of different ways.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: You can look at this.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Okay, if he takes a job, well, he was never
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: going to come to Kentucky if if the job doesn't
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Still thinking about.
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: That, yeah, absolutely, I think a lot of people are.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: I mean, you're looking, let's be realistic about this. You're
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: looking at the roster right now. You've heard me say this.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: I said it yesterday.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: I'm doing my best to be optimistic, but I can't
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: really be optimistic about this team next season. And if
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: they don't turn out to be a good team, guess what,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: there should be a change. I'm gonna say it right now.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I think Mark Pope deserves to be on the hot seat.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: And maybe I'm the first one to say it. No
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: who else has said it.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know about name, but I feel
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: like that's been a Isn't that what we've been talking
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: about for the last two months? If you don't get
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: your act together next season, you're god, You're.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: At I'm not sure. Well, okay, maybe I I well,
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: I don't listen to a lot of other UK shows.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: I mean this show we've been talking about, Yes, but
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: I haven't really said he deserves to be on the
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: hot seat. But we've said it without saying that probably so,
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: and now I finally said it. I think Mark Pope
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: needs to be on the hot seat. It's not warm,
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: it's not lukewarm, and he shouldn't be comfortable. I mean,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: he should be on the hot seat right now. I hope,
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: and I'll say it again. I hope he succeeds. I
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: don't need to hear from local John today. And that's okay.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: I know he's got a lot of stuff on his mind,
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: but I I just luck John. I believe, yes, good luck.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: I believe realistically, if you look at it, not that
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: I'm rooting against him. I'm not rooting against him, even
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: though cal and I didn't get along. I rooted for Cal,
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: I wanted Cal.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: To succeed, but I just don't see how this is
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: going to turn out good for UK, for the fan base,
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: and inevitably for Mark Pope's position. So you look at
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: this and you think, Okay, if Billy Donovan takes the
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: job at Orlando, then you knew it was not meant
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: to be. If he holds out, it kind of makes
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: you feel like, is he done with coaching or is
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: he looking at maybe there's a potential like get a
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: job that I should have taken a long time ago
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: and not listen to Rick Patino? Would you hire Billy
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: Donovan as a coach? By your hesitation right there, it
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: answers everything I would like for him to get back
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: into the college game prior to me hiring as a
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: coach really now, because I want to see his adjustments
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: with all the NIL and transfer portal and just all
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: the things he didn't have to worry about when he
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: was at the college level. Okay, I would want to
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: see all that first. I don't know that I would
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: have enough trust to just bring him in and trust
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: that he's going to be jumped right back into what
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: he was.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Really, so, I do I have enough trust that he
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: could do that, and I would be excited about it.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: So to me, it would be the closest thing to
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: having Rick Patino back as.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: Your head coach. That's a crazy state. Why is that
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: a crazy statement? I mean, dude, they're very similar. Yeah,
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: but I mean Billy's been out of college for what
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: eight ten years now? Yeah, it's been a long time.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: A lot of things have changed, all right, So I
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: don't know how you could have definitively said it.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: If Mike Krzyzewski came back and said, you know what,
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: I've been out of college basketball eight to ten years.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna come back and coach, you would not consider him.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: If Nick Saban came back and said, you know what,
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: I'd like to get into college football again and be
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: a head coach, you would not hire him.
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: I mean, that is slightly different because you just named
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: the two best coaches to ever do it. Billy Donovan
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: won two titles two years in a row. I'm not
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: saying Billy Donovan's not good. I'm just hesitant about how
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: he would be able to catch up with the way
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: things are now.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: Okay, all right, Then one person said, Donovan accepted the
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: magic job back in two thousand and seven and then
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: back to out and stayed at Florida.
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: That's right, I.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: Remember that, that's what it was. I didn't realize it
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: had been that long ago, nineteen years ago. Good gosh,
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: I think it was two thousand and seven anyway around
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: that time. So wow, I don't remember. Good call, right,
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: the Texter. I appreciate you setting that in UK baseball
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: is still on the outside looking in with the rankings.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: You know, they beat number twenty four Tennessee this weekend,
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: got a series win, baby, Yeah, finally got a series
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: win Florida Florida three. Now they're going ahead to Gainesville
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: for their last away series this weekend, down to Gainesville
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: for a three game series against the Gators. Florida took
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: two out of three against Oklahoma in Norman this past weekend.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: They moved up from twenty four to or up to
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: twenty one. No, I don't think Tennessee was ranked, but
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: or were they? I don't remember which was? Yeah, But
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: now when I'm trying to get to did you see
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: where The NCAA Baseball Rules Committees has approved a special
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: proposal by the SEC for the automated ball strike system.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: Do you like that? I do too.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: I think it's well needed. This is not taking away
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: from the homeplate umpire.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Just makes them look like an idiot.
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: Well but yes, but you know what, at least the
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: game is called correctly. I don't have a problem and
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: they shouldn't be embarrassed by they can't get every call right,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: you know the old saying they're only human. So I
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: like this, So they're going to do it just like
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: Major League. A team gets three ABIs challenges three three.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: That's more than they get Major is it? How many
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: get into it too?
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: Yeah, if you win the challenge, you get to keep
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: the challenge.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: I like that.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: You get a bonus challenge and extra endings. If you're
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: out of all your challenges, only the pitcher, catcher and
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: the batter can request a challenge. But you know everybody's
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: saying call it, call it, call it. But here's the thing.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: You only get two or three seconds to make that challenge.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: If it's over that time, then you lose it. And
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: this is going to start in the SEC Tournament, which
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: starts May eighteenth, down in Hue, Alabama, which is just
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: right around the road.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Love this big, big fan of this. I did
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: see this story last night. I'm I'm kind of with
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: you there. There's gonna be old guys that are like, oh,
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: trad Ashaurant, that's human error. But i just want the
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: game to be called right, So I'm always gonna be
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: in favor of ABS. I am too.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: I think it's worked out well in Major League Baseball,
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: and I think it'll work out even better in college.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: So might as well.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: If you're using in your the highest sport there is
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: out there, minus you well use it in the undercards
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: of them. So I think it's a great idea. I'm
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: looking forward to it, so I agree. Anyway, major League
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: Baseball is looking at realignment. I don't want to talk
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: about it now. We're going to talk about tomorrow because
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: I know you how much you hate this, But we
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: are going to talk about tomorrow, all right, there, Right,
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: have a great day. We'll see tomorrow.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: Just the Cats.
