Freedom for Iran: Mitra on Protest, Exile, and Europe’s Responsibility
Mitra is an Iranian activist and content creator living in Italy for five years, unable to return to Iran due to political risks—she also hasn’t seen her family since leaving. In this episode, Günther Fehlinger and Mitra talk about “Freedom for Iran,” the role of European public opinion (especially in Italy), and why international solidarity matters from her perspective. They also discuss protests, the importance of support from non-Iranians, and concrete demands directed at the Italian government (including closing the embassy/consulate and expelling regime-linked actors).
