Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to another Radio Archive Hour here from the Radio
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hall of Fame, Phil Hendry Show and philhendryshow.com. Today we
- 0:06Speaker 1: have for you Jeff Dauter, just months after the 9-11 attacks.
- 0:11Speaker 1: This is December of 2001, and Jeff, at this point
- 0:14Speaker 1: in his career, is a newspaper reporter for some syndicate.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I don't think this lasted very long. Plus, you can
- 0:20Speaker 1: hear him doing bong hits throughout this entire interview. Anyway,
- 0:23Speaker 1: he says that he feels New York and the West
- 0:25Speaker 1: Coast are the most significant areas in the United States,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and they must be protected... before any other place at
- 0:31Speaker 1: all costs. They've got Disneyland and they've got all that
- 0:35Speaker 1: cool stuff in New York and maybe Vegas too. The
- 0:38Speaker 1: rest of the country is just gonna have to wait
- 0:39Speaker 1: in line for their protection from terrorism. And also he
- 0:44Speaker 1: says that New York and LA are like two breasts
- 0:46Speaker 1: on an otherwise kind of hanky looking woman. Anyway. Why
- 0:50Speaker 1: do you have him on? It was a long time ago, Margaret.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Here he is, Jeff Dauter on a Phil Hendry show.
- 0:57Speaker 1: A little bit of bad news, although we don't really
- 0:59Speaker 1: know how bad the news is, but as you may
- 1:01Speaker 1: have read or you might have heard, there was an
- 1:04Speaker 1: alleged credible threat against bridges, landmark bridges and some other
- 1:11Speaker 1: landmarks on the West Coast, specifically California. This was communicated,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I suppose, by authorities to the authorities that be in California.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Governor Gray Davis has made it public in California. And
- 1:25Speaker 1: we wanted to get with correspondent Jeff Dauter. He's with
- 1:28Speaker 1: the Kiesling News Service to tell us a little bit
- 1:29Speaker 1: more about this and about how credible, how serious, etc.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And Jeff joins us from Los Angeles. Jeff, how are
- 1:40Speaker 1: you doing?
- 1:40Speaker 2: I'm doing really good, Phil. It's been a very interesting
- 1:44Speaker 2: couple of days with this credible threat against the bridges
- 1:50Speaker 2: in California. But my sources tell me of the people
- 1:54Speaker 2: I've talked to, authorities feel that because the West Coast,
- 1:59Speaker 2: along with New York, are probably the two most important
- 2:04Speaker 2: parts of America that they want to take it very
- 2:06Speaker 2: seriously at this time. New York was very serious, but
- 2:11Speaker 2: that has now reached a whole new level, Phil, and
- 2:16Speaker 2: because they're now messing with the West Coast on that.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Well, when you say that authority... Just bring me up
- 2:24Speaker 1: to speed a little bit, Jeff. You say that the
- 2:26Speaker 1: West Coast and New York.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Well, I think everybody knows that the most important places
- 2:32Speaker 2: in America is the West Coast and New York. I mean,
- 2:35Speaker 2: that's just how it's always been. Additional police departments would
- 2:41Speaker 2: be available to go to New Orleans, maybe, but right now.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well, you say New Orleans. Now, you've just brought up
- 2:48Speaker 1: New Orleans.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, see... My sources tell me within law enforcement that
- 2:54Speaker 2: the two, I mean, the two coolest places to be
- 2:57Speaker 2: in America is either New York, the West Coast, south
- 3:01Speaker 2: of Sanford, well, actually Humboldt County South, and Las Vegas.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Those are the two.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Well, those are three places.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Well, technically, yeah, there are three, but New York, the
- 3:14Speaker 2: West Coast, and Las Vegas. And the reason why this
- 3:18Speaker 2: has been a big news story is They mess with
- 3:21Speaker 2: New York. If they mess with California, they're messing with
- 3:25Speaker 2: a lot of stuff. So I would imagine, and I,
- 3:29Speaker 2: as a newsman, I know I'm not supposed to have
- 3:31Speaker 2: an opinion, but I think that the states around the
- 3:35Speaker 2: United States should begin to mobilize their National Guard and
- 3:39Speaker 2: send them to California in case California.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Well, what about the protection of the other states? Obviously,
- 3:44Speaker 1: they need their National Guard. You know what I'm saying?
- 3:48Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but I mean, how bad do they need
- 3:50Speaker 2: the National Guard at the Des Moines airport? You know
- 3:54Speaker 2: what I'm saying? You've got to think about this creatively.
- 3:58Speaker 2: The coolest places there are is California and New York.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I mean, there's no other place than Las Vegas. And
- 4:06Speaker 2: my sources on the West Coast tell me that Disneyland,
- 4:10Speaker 2: San Diego Zoo, all of the famous actors, Tijuana, the
- 4:15Speaker 2: Malibu Colony, I'm just listing the cool spots in California.
- 4:20Speaker 2: That's why it's important.
- 4:21Speaker 1: All right, so what do you see? You're telling me
- 4:23Speaker 1: your sources are telling you that California must be protected,
- 4:27Speaker 1: along with New York, at the expense of the rest
- 4:30Speaker 1: of the country?
- 4:30Speaker 2: That's my sources that have been informing me. Yes, sir. Yes,
- 4:34Speaker 2: they have, sir. Because if you think about it, and
- 4:38Speaker 2: I know you have a lot of people listening to
- 4:40Speaker 2: you in a lot of different states. I mean, come on, man.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I mean, if the terrorists hit California, there's very famous
- 4:49Speaker 2: actors that could be in jeopardy. Disneyland right there is
- 4:54Speaker 2: also important. I mean, the movie studios, every cool TV
- 4:59Speaker 2: show that you can think about comes right out of Hollywood.
- 5:03Speaker 2: The Survivor, the Mole, all the cool ones that I
- 5:07Speaker 2: know personally that I enjoy.
- 5:08Speaker 1: You're a little nervous. Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: So that's what my sources tell me. And the Chinese
- 5:19Speaker 2: Man Theater also where the fingerprints are. All these places
- 5:23Speaker 2: have to be protected. And also the surf is good there.
- 5:31Speaker 1: All right, Jeff, I know you're not used to doing.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm mostly a print journalist.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I know you're not used to doing live phoners for
- 5:37Speaker 1: radio reports. I'm trying to get a sense here of...
- 5:41Speaker 1: You mentioned that New York and California south of Humboldt County.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yes, sir, Humboldt County, and I am not.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I do indulge occasionally, and I'm just saying what my
- 5:54Speaker 2: sources tell me. Humboldt County has a significant marijuana crop...
- 5:59Speaker 2: So that right there is cool. The Golden Gate Bridge
- 6:02Speaker 2: is cool. The Bay Bridge is cool. All of Chinatown,
- 6:05Speaker 2: North Beach, that's all cool. Then it's not very cool
- 6:08Speaker 2: until you get to, like, Santa Barbara. It's kind of
- 6:12Speaker 2: cool there because they've got the pier and some restaurants.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Then it gets really bitching when you get to Santa Monica, Malibu, Hollywood.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Then it's kind of lame, and then it gets that
- 6:22Speaker 2: sort of, well, the zoo in San Diego is cool.
- 6:25Speaker 2: So it's lame from the zoo to Laguna Beach. Then
- 6:29Speaker 2: it's cool. Then it's lame to Santa Barbara. Then it's
- 6:35Speaker 2: cool only in Santa Barbara. Then it's completely lame up
- 6:38Speaker 2: to the....
- 6:45Speaker 1: Slow down.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah. To San Francisco. Now, my sources tell me in
- 6:51Speaker 2: some of the... They think that the law enforcement feels... Okay,
- 6:54Speaker 2: they messed with New York. That sucked. Now they want
- 6:58Speaker 2: to do California. That double sucks, and that cannot stand.
- 7:04Speaker 2: As Americans, I think over the last few weeks we've
- 7:08Speaker 2: been singing the national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, and
- 7:12Speaker 2: the national anthem, and different things to make us be aware.
- 7:17Speaker 1: What do we say, and you're just a reporter, Jeff,
- 7:19Speaker 1: but what do we say to.
- 7:21Speaker 2: My sources inform me Cher just built her new house
- 7:26Speaker 2: at the Malibu Colony, so that is also a landmark.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Do you consider the homes of actors to be landmarks?
- 7:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Do you consider the homes of actors to be landmarks?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yes, sir, I do. Yes, sir, I do. If you
- 7:42Speaker 2: stop and think about it, The house that Bob Hope
- 7:46Speaker 2: lives in in Palm Springs is the bomb. Bob Dylan's
- 7:49Speaker 2: new house is bitchin'. Cher's new house is righteous. I mean,
- 7:53Speaker 2: we've got to think about, you know, what we're talking
- 7:57Speaker 2: about here.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Okay, let me give our phone number out. It's 1-800-449-8686.
- 8:03Speaker 1: 1-800-449-8686 here on the Phil Henry Show. If I hear
- 8:06Speaker 1: you correctly, you're saying that the rest of the country
- 8:09Speaker 1: isn't as cool as New York and the West Coast
- 8:12Speaker 1: and Las Vegas?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm Vegas also has to be, and I'm sure
- 8:16Speaker 2: that they will deploy National Guard troops to the casinos
- 8:22Speaker 2: just to make sure, you know, that a terrorist doesn't...
- 8:24Speaker 2: Because you can jack those slots pretty easy, walk out
- 8:28Speaker 2: of there with, you know... Is there a.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Terrorist plot against slot machines?
- 8:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. I'm just saying. So...
- 8:38Speaker 2: What was your question?
- 8:39Speaker 1: My question is, are you saying that your sources are
- 8:43Speaker 1: telling you the rest of the country is not that important?
- 8:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean, the other states need to send their
- 8:48Speaker 2: cops and their National Guard to Cali because they don't
- 8:53Speaker 2: need them on account of they're not as cool places
- 8:56Speaker 2: to be. That's all I'm saying.
- 8:58Speaker 1: The term cool, you understand it's relevant. When you say cool,
- 9:02Speaker 1: do you mean important?
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well, yeah, that's what I mean. For instance, if
- 9:08Speaker 2: you take the movie studios out of America, this place
- 9:13Speaker 2: pretty much sucks on wheels other than the fact of
- 9:16Speaker 2: New York. If you take the casinos out of Las Vegas,
- 9:20Speaker 2: America blows dead apes other than, like, New York. So
- 9:25Speaker 2: all of that combined... What.
- 9:26Speaker 1: About people that like Chicago? What about people that like Miami?
- 9:29Speaker 1: What about people that like New Orleans? What about.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Those places are... That's whatever, man. I mean, I've not
- 9:36Speaker 2: really been there or anything. I mean, are you saying
- 9:38Speaker 2: those places are cool?
- 9:40Speaker 1: I don't know what you mean by cool. You know,
- 9:41Speaker 1: there's some cool stuff in Miami.
- 9:44Speaker 2: My sources tell me that it's not that. If Cali's
- 9:47Speaker 2: culture goes away, the country's lost. And that's it.
- 9:50Speaker 1: So in other words, America is not America without the
- 9:53Speaker 1: culture of California and New York.
- 9:55Speaker 2: That is precisely what I'm saying. what I'm saying.
- 10:01Speaker 1: What is that? What am I hearing in the background there?
- 10:04Speaker 2: I'm in my office right now, just doing some work.
- 10:09Speaker 1: All right, Jeff Dauter with us here on number 1-800-449-8686
- 10:14Speaker 1: as he talks about this latest threat against the bridges.
- 10:16Speaker 1: We're talking about bridges. Is there a threat against Disneyland, Malibu,
- 10:20Speaker 1: or anything?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Well, I mean, no, there's not. And the threat against
- 10:24Speaker 2: the bridges, my sources tell me, is not 100% credible,
- 10:30Speaker 2: but they're taking no chances. And I applaud Governor Davis
- 10:35Speaker 2: for checking into it and making sure that everything's going
- 10:39Speaker 2: to be sweet and copacetic on account of what's going down.
- 10:43Speaker 2: artwork we're hearing here a story that you're telling us
- 10:46Speaker 2: that uh... california new york and las vegas must be
- 10:49Speaker 2: saved even if other states have to send their police
- 10:53Speaker 2: and national guard their yeah i mean they have probably
- 10:57Speaker 2: be a lot of personal opinion i also agree with
- 10:59Speaker 2: that you could take the national guard of montana north
- 11:03Speaker 2: dakota and also kentucky senate all the way out here
- 11:08Speaker 2: and don't care if we even care about it but
- 11:12Speaker 2: first The bridges of California need to be protected. Then
- 11:17Speaker 2: Mickey Mouse. And then he adds up.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So that's all. Okay, hold on for a minute. 1-800-449-8686.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Let me go to a phone call here because what
- 11:26Speaker 1: you're telling me is interesting with regard to New York, California,
- 11:30Speaker 1: and Las Vegas. The rest of the country, though. See
- 11:33Speaker 1: what I'm saying?
- 11:35Speaker 2: But there's nothing to do anywhere else.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Okay, hold on.
- 11:38Speaker 2: 1-800-449-8686.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Steve, you're on the Phil Henry Show.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Hello.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I'm just saying there's not really a lot to do
- 11:47Speaker 2: nowhere else. Go ahead, Steve.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Oh, I just wanted to make a comment to that
- 11:52Speaker 3: moron that you got on the air right now.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Uh, excuse me? Excuse me? I'm a reporter with the
- 11:59Speaker 2: Keesling News Service.
- 12:01Speaker 3: And I'm simply reporting... Like, I'm.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Reporting the news, man, if you know how to read
- 12:05Speaker 2: a newspaper.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Oh, I know how to read a newspaper.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Okay, then you obviously.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I'm just wondering where you get off saying that everybody
- 12:14Speaker 5: else in California is so much more important than anybody else.
- 12:17Speaker 2: In the country. If you think about it, Matt.
- 12:20Speaker 5: You are no more important than me there, buddy, and
- 12:23Speaker 5: I am no.
- 12:24Speaker 2: More important than you. Hey, hey, hey, let me tell
- 12:25Speaker 2: you what. If you think about it, Steve, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 2: take the TV shows and the movies, too, and blow
- 12:34Speaker 2: them up in a terrorist attack, what are you going
- 12:38Speaker 2: to do in Fargo besides... Look at the snow drifts
- 12:42Speaker 2: up against your garage. The answer to that question is nothing, man.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Survey says nothing.
- 12:50Speaker 5: I got better things.
- 12:51Speaker 3: To do than live my life around.
- 12:53Speaker 2: A TV and a car.
- 12:55Speaker 1: If Fargo, North Dakota, or any other city is threatened,
- 12:58Speaker 1: the country.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they got to protect them, but you... Look, in
- 13:02Speaker 2: a war, where do you send all your troops? To
- 13:04Speaker 2: the most important place to protect. And that's what America's doing.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And I think it would be a very nice gesture
- 13:11Speaker 2: on the part of the North Dakota peoples to send
- 13:14Speaker 2: their National Guard to the studios. What do you say?
- 13:19Speaker 2: You think that's funny, man?
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I do. Yeah? I do.
- 13:25Speaker 5: So we're supposed to give up everything for you out there.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Hey, man, it's either Malibu Barbie or Fargo Franny. Guess
- 13:32Speaker 2: who wins? Survey says Malibu Barbie.
- 13:35Speaker 3: That's what the survey says.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Hey, dude, survey says Malibu Barbie. Fargo loses on account
- 13:41Speaker 2: of the cultural importance of the zoos that we have,
- 13:45Speaker 2: and we have some of the finest zoos you'll ever
- 13:48Speaker 2: be in. And I don't know whether you have an
- 13:51Speaker 2: opportunity to go to zoos.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Well, forget the zoos. The threat was supposedly against the bridges.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Well, I'm not saying that we shouldn't protect your.
- 14:02Speaker 5: Bridges, because I'm not going to disagree that you've got
- 14:05Speaker 5: beautiful stuff out there. I'm not disagreeing with that.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Okay. What's our argument? What's our argument?
- 14:13Speaker 3: My point is I don't see how you.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Get off saying that everybody out there is more important
- 14:19Speaker 5: than anybody anywhere else.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Look it, man, it adds up. If you have a
- 14:23Speaker 2: zoo in Fargo and we have the San Diego Zoo,
- 14:26Speaker 2: they have pandas at the San Diego Zoo, and Fargo has, like,
- 14:31Speaker 2: probably just a bear cub from the woods around there.
- 14:34Speaker 2: that means the panda must be protected on account that
- 14:38Speaker 2: it came from China. You should start, man, because without
- 14:44Speaker 2: the San Diego Zoo, you've got nothing to do when
- 14:47Speaker 2: you come to the San Diego portions.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 14:52Speaker 2: All right.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Listen, Steve, thank you for your call. I'm going to
- 14:57Speaker 1: take a quick break. Jeff Dauter. Jeff, as a reporter,
- 15:00Speaker 1: you need to be careful putting your own opinion into this,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know?
- 15:03Speaker 2: You love your country, but you only want to visit California, Vegas,
- 15:07Speaker 2: and New York. Everything else is lame. I mean, it's
- 15:22Speaker 2: lame straight out to Miami, then it gets cool, and
- 15:26Speaker 2: then it's lame all the way.
- 15:27Speaker 1: What do you got, some map, the lame map or something?
- 15:29Speaker 1: Hold on for a minute. Jeff Dauter from the Kiesling
- 15:32Speaker 1: News Service talking about the latest possibly credible threat against
- 15:37Speaker 1: bridges in the state of California and how he feels
- 15:40Speaker 1: all the National Guard, all the police from every state
- 15:42Speaker 1: should be out in California protecting the landmarks. because California,
- 15:46Speaker 1: New York, and Vegas are the coolest parts of America
- 15:50Speaker 1: and must be protected, even at the expense, it sounds
- 15:53Speaker 1: like to me, of the other parts of this country.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Phil Henry Show. Phil Henry Show. With me is Jeff Doughter.
- 16:01Speaker 1: He's a reporter for the Kiesling News Service. We're talking
- 16:03Speaker 1: about the latest, and I want to emphasize this, the
- 16:06Speaker 1: latest news. possibly credible threat. I mean, I've been hearing
- 16:10Speaker 1: things from the federal government saying it's not credible, but
- 16:13Speaker 1: the governor of California says that it's something they want
- 16:16Speaker 1: to look at seriously, a threat against California's landmark bridges. Jeff,
- 16:21Speaker 1: you've been talking about California and New York being the
- 16:23Speaker 1: only important places.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I was thinking about it during the break, Phil, and
- 16:29Speaker 2: I really think it's apropos comparison. If you look at
- 16:32Speaker 2: New York and California, they're like two sweet breasts on
- 16:38Speaker 2: a beautiful woman, but what's between the brass? Bone, man.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Just brass bone. And that's America. I mean, we got
- 16:48Speaker 2: these two nice, big, juicy.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Okay, man, I mean, I got the comparison, all right.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Well, you know, and the only thing between is bone.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And it's not like I don't love my country, but,
- 17:01Speaker 2: you know... Like, for instance, you know, I was busted
- 17:07Speaker 2: in Chicago for an unfortunate incident. I was dealing, I
- 17:12Speaker 2: had 500 hits of X on me, and I don't
- 17:14Speaker 2: know how, and I swear to God, man, I don't
- 17:16Speaker 2: know how they got on there. I got busted by
- 17:19Speaker 2: the Chicago police. Yeah, what a party town, man. I
- 17:22Speaker 2: was there to review the burgeoning rave scene in Chicago,
- 17:26Speaker 2: and suddenly the dudes hassled me on the X.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You got 500 hits of a dangerous drug, you're going
- 17:31Speaker 1: to get arrested.
- 17:33Speaker 2: But I don't know, I don't remember how that got
- 17:37Speaker 2: in my coat.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Give me a break. 500 hits of X.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Hey, man, I wouldn't be surprised if those pigs in Chicago.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Okay, no pig talk, no nothing, all right? You got
- 17:50Speaker 1: arrested in Chicago, and that's that. Here is Chessa, I
- 17:54Speaker 1: think it is, on the Phil Henry Show. Chessa, are
- 17:57Speaker 1: you there?
- 17:58Speaker 6: Yes, I am.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Go right ahead, ma'am.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I think the police have been known to plant drugs.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 18:04Speaker 7: No landmark, no house, no amusement park is more important
- 18:08Speaker 7: or worthy of protection more than my two-year-old son and
- 18:11Speaker 7: the daughter I'm about to give birth to.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Or any of the other daughters of those.
- 18:15Speaker 6: People in these United States.
- 18:16Speaker 2: So you don't care about your country.
- 18:18Speaker 3: You don't care about your country. We are guaranteeing protection
- 18:21Speaker 3: by our country.
- 18:22Speaker 7: For every human being in this country.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Chester, let me ask you a question. Chester, let me
- 18:26Speaker 1: ask you a question. Don't you think your country is
- 18:28Speaker 1: deserving of as much protection as your son?
- 18:31Speaker 7: Absolutely.
- 18:32Speaker 6: Every son and daughter in this country is deserving.
- 18:33Speaker 2: She didn't say that, Mr. Henry. She didn't say that, Mr. Henry.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I heard what she said. She said her kid.
- 18:38Speaker 6: I said every son and daughter in the United States,
- 18:41Speaker 6: mine included, no one in life is more important. And
- 18:44Speaker 6: if you would like to go out and.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Protect your son, go ahead.
- 18:47Speaker 6: If they take you, that's fine. You don't need to
- 18:50Speaker 6: go out in this country. Where are you calling from?
- 18:52Speaker 2: Houston, Texas. Oh, great. I got my ass kicked in
- 18:56Speaker 2: a bar in Houston simply because I said.
- 18:59Speaker 6: You probably deserved it.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah? I have the freedom of... I got the
- 19:02Speaker 2: freedom of speech. I said Tammy Wynette and George Jones
- 19:06Speaker 2: were a couple of broken-down alcoholics. That's absolutely.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And tell me I'm wrong. That's absolutely your opinion.
- 19:11Speaker 6: You might not want to say that in Texas, though, hon.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Wait a second. It's not true that they're not broken down, Alkies?
- 19:18Speaker 3: I know.
- 19:18Speaker 6: That's your opinion, and that's fine for you to have.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Well, I said I heard Garth Brooks was gay.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Wait a second, man. You don't walk into a Texas
- 19:26Speaker 1: bar and say all that stuff.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And I got my ass kicked, man.
- 19:30Speaker 6: That's your own stupidity, sir.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I got freedom of the press. I have freedom of
- 19:34Speaker 2: the press of the speech.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yes, if you could speak very well, you would.
- 19:39Speaker 2: What?
- 19:40Speaker 7: If you could speak well, you'd have that freedom.
- 19:43Speaker 6: So you think.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Your kid's more important than Disneyland, that's it.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Show is back.
- 19:50Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Phil Hendry here with Jeff Dowder. Jeff, the phone line
- 19:57Speaker 1: that we have to your apartment sounds like it might
- 20:01Speaker 1: be a little rough.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Why?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Because I'm hearing a bubbling sound.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what that is. I'm... Maybe have
- 20:10Speaker 2: your engineer check it out.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Okay, Jeff Dowder is with us. He is with the
- 20:14Speaker 1: Kiesling News Service. We're talking about the latest possible threat
- 20:18Speaker 1: to our country, and that is against California's bridges. You've
- 20:22Speaker 1: been saying some things here that California is more important
- 20:24Speaker 1: to protect. California, New York, and Las Vegas are the
- 20:27Speaker 1: three most important places to protect, okay, in this country.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You also believe that we should set up a relief fund?
- 20:35Speaker 2: I think that is prudent. I think it's prudent. Look
- 20:39Speaker 2: at what happened in New York. They didn't have the
- 20:41Speaker 2: relief fund set up until after the tragic stuff that happened. Now,
- 20:46Speaker 2: if we set the relief fund up now, you can
- 20:48Speaker 2: hire more security at Disneyland and get more bodyguards for
- 20:53Speaker 2: the actors, too.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And at California, how does California deserve... Mr.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Henry, you can't ask how we deserve it. Look at
- 21:00Speaker 2: how California helped the country out. Right after September 11th,
- 21:05Speaker 2: we pushed Zoolander into the theaters... right away, man, to
- 21:09Speaker 2: get everybody, yeah, ha, ha, ha, ha, you know, back
- 21:13Speaker 2: into it, you know?
- 21:17Speaker 1: And what are you doing, man? Are you smoking dope
- 21:19Speaker 1: or something?
- 21:20Speaker 2: What? No.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Because, you know, it's like you're acting goofy, and I
- 21:23Speaker 1: don't know what's... Let me go to a phone call here. Laura, hi,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you're on the Phil Henry Show. Hello.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I'm entitled to my opinion based on my journalism. Go ahead, Laura.
- 21:33Speaker 4: You know, I really have to say that I... I
- 21:36Speaker 4: think you are a complete moron, and I don't think
- 21:38Speaker 4: that you are supporting.
- 21:40Speaker 6: Yeah, what good does it do?
- 21:42Speaker 4: It sounds like you are supporting drugs and some fantasy
- 21:46Speaker 4: life in Hollywood.
- 21:47Speaker 2: No. First of all, what good does it do to
- 21:52Speaker 2: insult me?
- 21:54Speaker 4: Well, you're basically insulting the whole United States, in your opinion,
- 21:58Speaker 4: that Hollywood stars are the only people in booze that need.
- 22:02Speaker 7: To be supported.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Well, the water pipe sucks. That's why we're here in the... No,
- 22:06Speaker 2: I'm just saying that if you can tell me and
- 22:10Speaker 2: you can look me in the eye and honestly tell
- 22:12Speaker 2: me that you think, like, Houston is cooler than California, then, hey,
- 22:18Speaker 2: I'll sign the papers on you right now. No, I
- 22:21Speaker 2: can't tell you that. Because there's no possible way.
- 22:23Speaker 3: This is where I live, and this is the town.
- 22:25Speaker 2: That I support.
- 22:29Speaker 3: What?
- 22:30Speaker 4: You're just absolutely ridiculous with these opinions of yours about
- 22:33Speaker 4: supporting zoos. And the actors, when there are people out
- 22:36Speaker 4: here that are hard workers, that have families that need
- 22:39Speaker 4: to be supported.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Exactly. Hard working people. They need to be protected. They
- 22:42Speaker 1: need to be protected.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Well, I'm not saying that they don't, but right now,
- 22:46Speaker 2: guess what? Guess what, Laura? Guess what?
- 22:50Speaker 7: What's that?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Uh, okay, hold on for a minute. What?
- 22:56Speaker 4: What, you can't get your brain thoughts together there?
- 22:58Speaker 2: Hey, you know something? Hold on a minute, all right?
- 23:00Speaker 2: I mean, you come out of the gate getting up
- 23:03Speaker 2: in my grill with all kinds of harsh rhetoric.
- 23:06Speaker 4: You're right.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Houston. Oh, forget it. I forget. Look how we helped
- 23:11Speaker 2: everybody out. Zoolander came out right away. Ninety percent of
- 23:14Speaker 2: the good chronic has grown on the West Coast. I mean,
- 23:17Speaker 2: that's all I'm saying.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Who cares about chronic?
- 23:20Speaker 3: Who cares about that? Maybe I do.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Maybe I do. Yeah, yeah. Think about it.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Drugs and alcohol and things do not even matter to
- 23:30Speaker 4: half of this country.
- 23:31Speaker 1: You are no better than those people that bombed us.
- 23:34Speaker 1: What about NASA? What about the National Aeronautics and Space
- 23:37Speaker 1: Administration in Houston?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Absolutely. Whatever. Hey, man, whatever. We haven't been to the
- 23:42Speaker 2: moon in 100 years. All they're doing down there is going, yeah. Hey, dude,
- 23:47Speaker 2: there's the rocket that we went to the moon in,
- 23:49Speaker 2: but we haven't been up there. What else do you
- 23:51Speaker 2: want to do, man? I don't know. Let's just sit
- 23:53Speaker 2: here and, like, pretend like we're going to go to
- 23:54Speaker 2: the moon again. I mean, whatever. It ain't happening.
- 23:59Speaker 6: It ain't happening. We have so few satellites and rockets
- 24:01Speaker 6: to go.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Into outer space to provide.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Us with useful information. Hey, the dish that I use
- 24:09Speaker 2: on my house goes off of a satellite that they
- 24:13Speaker 2: blasted off from Japan. so i'm sorry to break the
- 24:17Speaker 2: news all right.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Look man put that dope down because the more you
- 24:21Speaker 1: smoke the longer we go in this hour the less
- 24:23Speaker 1: sense you make okay thank you for your call laura
- 24:27Speaker 1: 1-800-449-8686 jeff doubter talking to us about uh... the threats
- 24:31Speaker 1: to california and how it's important that the national guard
- 24:34Speaker 1: and what do you mean we had a set of
- 24:35Speaker 1: relief fund up to get more bodyguards for actors.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I think it's important in terms of the you know
- 24:43Speaker 2: the economics See, because.
- 24:45Speaker 1: If our actors get killed in a terrorist attack.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Then Zoolander wouldn't come out.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Zoolander.
- 24:50Speaker 2: That's what we did for the country. What's the country
- 24:52Speaker 2: do for us?
- 24:54Speaker 1: New York was hurting, man. Everybody came to the aid
- 24:56Speaker 1: of the city of New York, all right? Forget about
- 24:58Speaker 1: whether you let Zoolander out early, okay? Here is Jessica
- 25:02Speaker 1: on the Phil Henry Show.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Hello. Hello.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yes, hi.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Hello. Hi, I was calling about... I'm stoned. All these
- 25:10Speaker 2: people don't even know when to talk and stuff.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Go ahead, Jessica. You're doing fine.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 25:17Speaker 8: All I'm saying is that why... What is the point
- 25:20Speaker 8: of putting more bodyguards or more, you know, security around these...
- 25:26Speaker 8: What is it?
- 25:26Speaker 7: San Diego Zoo and.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah. I got the list right here, Jessica. Basically, we
- 25:31Speaker 2: need to up security.
- 25:32Speaker 7: No, but listen.
- 25:33Speaker 8: You need to listen because.
- 25:34Speaker 2: We got to beef up security.
- 25:36Speaker 8: No, but what would they be doing... If there wasn't
- 25:39Speaker 8: the rest of the nation.
- 25:40Speaker 7: What would they be doing?
- 25:41Speaker 6: How would they be making their.
- 25:42Speaker 8: Money if the rest of the nation wasn't going over
- 25:44Speaker 8: there and touring and going to go see and going
- 25:47Speaker 8: on vacation for all of that?
- 25:48Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 25:49Speaker 6: There would be no point.
- 25:51Speaker 3: What?
- 25:52Speaker 2: Here's where we've got to beef up security. Tijuana, Malibu Colony,
- 25:57Speaker 2: Golden Gate.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Do you know where Tijuana is?
- 25:59Speaker 2: I'm sorry?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Do you know where Tijuana is?
- 26:04Speaker 6: Where is Tijuana?
- 26:07Speaker 2: San Diego.
- 26:08Speaker 1: No, it's not. It's in Mexico.
- 26:10Speaker 3: You'll never hear about things.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Being made in Tijuana. That's out of the country.
- 26:16Speaker 2: No, that's part of the United States. No, it's not.
- 26:18Speaker 1: It's part of the country of Mexico.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Then how come I can go down there anytime I
- 26:23Speaker 2: want and I never got hassled by a cop?
- 26:26Speaker 1: Because you can go. Don't you remember coming back over
- 26:28Speaker 1: the border from there?
- 26:29Speaker 6: What would be the point?
- 26:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that makes sense.
- 26:32Speaker 6: Well, all I'm saying is that.
- 26:34Speaker 2: My sources tell me that Tijuana is located south of
- 26:37Speaker 2: San Diego. It is! All right.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Then south of San Diego is Mexico.
- 26:42Speaker 2: My sources didn't tell me that.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Well, you better get... Who are your sources, anyway?
- 26:48Speaker 2: I'm not going to divulge that at this time.
- 26:51Speaker 8: What, do you even have any sources?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Because... Yes, I do, yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 2: My friend Chris Sorensen and John Balbeckia, they go to Caltech.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Oh, those are your sources, huh?
- 27:01Speaker 8: They go to Caltech.
- 27:06Speaker 1: What kind of sources are they? What kind of sources
- 27:09Speaker 1: are they?
- 27:11Speaker 2: Belbeckia built the water pipe that I can't. It's a
- 27:13Speaker 2: bogus pipe, too, because I can't suck any air out
- 27:15Speaker 2: of it.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Jessica, go ahead with your comments.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Toby Bowe is also very connected.
- 27:22Speaker 8: All I'm saying is that what would they be without.
- 27:25Speaker 1: The rest of the nation?
- 27:27Speaker 3: Toby Bowe is a righteous surfer.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yes, well, that's a very good point. Where would we
- 27:32Speaker 1: be without the rest of the country going to see
- 27:34Speaker 1: these movie stars in their movies?
- 27:36Speaker 6: It's called Foreign Box Office, hello.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Foreign Box Office? Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 6: How much money do they actually make over there?
- 27:46Speaker 2: Do you want to know? Do you think.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Those other foreign films from other countries come over here.
- 27:52Speaker 7: And they make a lot of money?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Sylvester Stallone makes most of his jack... on the foreign
- 27:58Speaker 2: box office receipts of the pieces of Jew that he...
- 28:01Speaker 2: And that's how many.
- 28:02Speaker 6: That's one of how many actors?
- 28:05Speaker 2: Okay, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis... Gwyneth Paltrow? What other action stars?
- 28:15Speaker 1: Gwyneth Paltrow's an action star, huh?
- 28:17Speaker 2: How many other.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Actors and actresses are there out there without her? But
- 28:20Speaker 6: the United States is where they get most of their
- 28:23Speaker 6: money from, though.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Jessica, I don't want to argue, okay? I want you
- 28:26Speaker 2: to know that I wrote a song for the fund,
- 28:28Speaker 2: for the relief fund, for California and for New York
- 28:32Speaker 2: and for Las Vegas.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And California and Vegas don't need.
- 28:39Speaker 8: Why do they need a song?
- 28:41Speaker 6: What's so great about those places is because they have.
- 28:43Speaker 4: One, two, three.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Somewhere over the rainbow. Hold on for a minute. Sky's on.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Okay, that's it. That's fine, man. World-famous Phil Henry Show
