- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to Almost Famous. It's Ben here with you.
- 0:10Speaker 2: There was a lot that happened on Almost Famous in
- 0:13Speaker 2: the month of August. So before we head into September,
- 0:17Speaker 2: let's make sure you didn't miss anything. The Almost Famous
- 0:23Speaker 2: crew went off to Lake Tahoe for our second annual
- 0:26Speaker 2: Pickleball event. Lots of episodes from that. But the trip
- 0:31Speaker 2: ended on a pretty intense conversation between Joan Vasos, Courtney Robertson,
- 0:37Speaker 2: and Trista Sutter.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I felt like I was accused of forming an alliance, bullying.
- 0:45Speaker 3: You said on a podcast that the producers didn't like me.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I never had any bad word. You said that producers
- 0:56Speaker 3: told you that they didn't like me, as you said
- 0:58Speaker 3: on a podcast.
- 0:59Speaker 4: And where that was, I would want to hear that.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I don't think I said that, but to be quite
- 1:03Speaker 4: honest with you, the arches were a lot. Like, and
- 1:07Speaker 4: even Kathy, when you went on, Kathy's like, oh my God,
- 1:10Speaker 4: and we're like, Joan of Arc, or whatever. Like, to me, it's...
- 1:15Speaker 4: not the second coming of Christ, but I'm sorry if
- 1:18Speaker 4: you felt that way. But when I watched the show
- 1:20Speaker 4: back and when they told me and I saw you
- 1:22Speaker 4: say like, oh, she plays the mom card and this
- 1:24Speaker 4: and that, like that hurt my feelings. I am a
- 1:26Speaker 4: mom of three little kids and I'm dealing with a
- 1:29Speaker 4: husband who's been cheating on.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Me for seven years.
- 1:32Speaker 3: But again, like it was like a producer thing that,
- 1:35Speaker 3: you know, they poke you, poke you, poke you until
- 1:37Speaker 3: you say something that they want you to say.
- 1:39Speaker 4: And, you know, I didn't think that they would do that.
- 1:41Speaker 4: I didn't know how it was going to air.
- 1:42Speaker 3: They were doing that to me in, in ITMs. Definitely.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Definitely.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I've met a lot of people in Bachelor Nation, and
- 1:48Speaker 4: when I came off my season and I went to
- 1:50Speaker 4: that Bachelor Mansion event in Malibu, Sean Lowe, they were
- 1:53Speaker 4: just about to announce him, Jillian Harris, so many people
- 1:57Speaker 4: reached out to me to support me. You didn't give
- 1:58Speaker 4: me the f * * * ing time of day.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Chris Harrison was there, and you treated me like scum.
- 2:03Speaker 5: I literally.
- 2:04Speaker 6: You said that, and I didn't treat you like scum.
- 2:06Speaker 6: You said I... I don't remember that. I don't remember
- 2:10Speaker 6: that you even being there, honestly.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Trista took some time to reflect on the conversation with Bob.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Yeah, there were definitely things that afterwards that I felt like,
- 2:20Speaker 6: oh gosh, why didn't I do that? Or why didn't
- 2:22Speaker 6: I say that? The biggest thing is that, you know,
- 2:28Speaker 6: Heather asked me to tell us what happened or tell
- 2:34Speaker 6: you guys what happened. And so I wanted to start
- 2:37Speaker 6: from the beginning. And I went back to when she
- 2:41Speaker 6: wrote her book and the podcast that I had heard about.
- 2:46Speaker 7: That was the one where you were called the salty name, right?
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 2:50Speaker 6: And other things, there were other things that were said
- 2:52Speaker 6: on there that I didn't get to.
- 2:55Speaker 7: But it wasn't Courtney who said that. She did not
- 2:57Speaker 7: say that word.
- 2:58Speaker 6: No, she did not. And she said, I didn't say that.
- 3:01Speaker 6: And I said, no, I know you didn't say that.
- 3:03Speaker 6: The host said that. I said that she had started
- 3:06Speaker 6: laughing and then she said she has a nervous laugh. So,
- 3:10Speaker 6: you know, whatever that all of that was said, right.
- 3:13Speaker 6: But what I wanted to like listening back or actually
- 3:17Speaker 6: just thinking about what had been said, I really just
- 3:21Speaker 6: wish when Heather gave me the floor and said, tell
- 3:25Speaker 6: us what happened. I wish I would have started with
- 3:29Speaker 6: the fact that I acknowledge that, as I did when
- 3:35Speaker 6: I sent her the email, the Olive Branch email, I
- 3:40Speaker 6: acknowledged in the past, and I want to acknowledge again,
- 3:47Speaker 6: that I hurt her. Like, that's how I wish that
- 3:53Speaker 6: I had started that part of the podcast, like when
- 3:58Speaker 6: I was given the floor. I wish I would have
- 3:59Speaker 6: just said, I'm sorry, again, for hurting you. Yeah. Because
- 4:16Speaker 6: I know I did.
- 4:16Speaker 2: A lot of love in the air this month. Bachelor
- 4:20Speaker 2: Nation alums Michael A., Juliana Pascaroso, and Tyler Cameron all
- 4:27Speaker 2: got engaged. Congrats to them. Speaking of love in the air,
- 4:32Speaker 2: Famously Available is back. And we caught up with Deanna, Kathy,
- 4:38Speaker 2: and some new additions to the crew.
- 4:40Speaker 8: Kathy, I am still available.
- 4:44Speaker 5: So am I, Deanna.
- 4:45Speaker 8: How does this happen?
- 4:46Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 4:46Speaker 5: Can you tell me?
- 4:48Speaker 8: Something is not right in the world. The stars have
- 4:50Speaker 8: not aligned.
- 4:52Speaker 5: I got nothing here. I don't know. What's been up
- 4:54Speaker 5: with you? Tell me what's been going on with you
- 4:56Speaker 5: since we last chatted.
- 4:57Speaker 8: I did dip my toes in.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Okay.
- 5:00Speaker 8: Into a relationship.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Tell me.
- 5:02Speaker 8: I like dated a guy and just him for like
- 5:06Speaker 8: three months.
- 5:07Speaker 10: Oh.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 8: It was kind of wild. We like, we like, we're like,
- 5:11Speaker 8: it was really intense from the start.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Okay. Yeah. Sounds good. Obviously something happened.
- 5:17Speaker 8: Well- You know that you're not quite ready for an
- 5:22Speaker 8: intense relationship when it's a panty dropper if he just
- 5:26Speaker 8: carries toilet paper up the stairs.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Are we talking love bombing with toilet paper? What are
- 5:31Speaker 5: we talking here?
- 5:32Speaker 8: No, like for the first time in my life, this
- 5:35Speaker 8: man carried things up the stairs without having to be asked.
- 5:38Speaker 8: And I was like, have me, Lord.
- 5:39Speaker 9: I am yours.
- 5:41Speaker 2: We caught up with Bachelor Nation alum Eric Bigger.
- 5:45Speaker 9: Over the years, I went through a lot of change.
- 5:48Speaker 9: I had a metamorphosis. I had to go through heartbreak.
- 5:51Speaker 11: I had to go through betrayal, loss, shame, guilt, and
- 5:54Speaker 11: all the things you don't think you experienced at that
- 5:56Speaker 11: part of your career where the.
- 5:58Speaker 9: Physical success didn't mean much.
- 6:00Speaker 11: The accolades didn't feel as great as they look because
- 6:03Speaker 11: I was suffering internally.
- 6:05Speaker 9: I was wearing a mask.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And Lauren and I Continue to get familiar with the
- 6:11Speaker 2: Real Housewives as we started recapping the ultimate girls trip
- 6:16Speaker 2: roaring 20th.
- 6:18Speaker 12: Yes, each day we're growing more and more keen to
- 6:22Speaker 12: these women. I love, I mean, it's probably such an
- 6:26Speaker 12: honor to be picked for the ultimate girls trip because
- 6:28Speaker 12: there has been 20 years and so many seasons and
- 6:32Speaker 12: so much rotation in each cast. And then these are
- 6:34Speaker 12: the ultimate, the ultimates of the ultimates. Did you know
- 6:38Speaker 12: who Teresa Giudice was before this?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so I knew who she was, Lauren, because I
- 6:43Speaker 2: met her daughter in Tahoe and was promoting the Dirty
- 6:49Speaker 2: Rush show and looked up her mom while we were there.
- 6:53Speaker 7: And for whatever reason, I did recognize her. I did say, oh,
- 6:59Speaker 7: I've seen her somewhere on TV before, but I'm not familiar.
- 7:04Speaker 7: That's about the extent at which I know her.
- 7:07Speaker 12: Yeah, because when I look at this group of women,
- 7:10Speaker 12: she seems to be the most widely known because she
- 7:14Speaker 12: has the classic where she flips the table at dinner.
- 7:17Speaker 12: You've probably seen a meme of that. She flips the
- 7:19Speaker 12: table over. Also, she went to prison, okay? That is
- 7:23Speaker 12: why she's been widely known. And then her daughter's famous,
- 7:27Speaker 12: and she was also on Special Forces, which is one
- 7:30Speaker 12: of my diehard love that show. So that's why she
- 7:33Speaker 12: is the most iconic to me.
- 7:36Speaker 7: Okay. So I, you know, who else stood out to me? Portia.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I do know of Portia because, um, I think she's
- 7:44Speaker 2: referenced a lot when it comes to the icons of
- 7:46Speaker 2: the franchise.
- 7:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Um, I, I have a couple of gay buddies who
- 7:52Speaker 2: love housewives and every once in a while, like when
- 7:58Speaker 2: we're together, they'll.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Like, like, um, like inside talk. I don't know how
- 8:04Speaker 7: to say it. Like They have these like inside.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Jokes about life and things that I never understand. But
- 8:11Speaker 2: the housewives is typically those jokes. And Portia is like
- 8:14Speaker 2: reference a lot. Like they'll say, I think things like
- 8:17Speaker 2: that's so Portia or something. And I'm like, I have
- 8:19Speaker 2: no idea.
- 8:20Speaker 12: What that means.
- 8:21Speaker 7: But now I get it.
- 8:22Speaker 2: On our spinoff, kind of famous Deanna and producer Heather
- 8:38Speaker 2: did a deep dive recap on the Netflix dating show.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Let's marry Harry.
- 8:43Speaker 9: I do want to.
- 8:44Speaker 13: Know what your kind of knowledge is about our lead,
- 8:47Speaker 13: Harry Jousey, before we got, before you saw this show
- 8:50Speaker 13: or anything, what did you know about him?
- 8:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:53Speaker 8: I have been looking forward to this, to sitting down
- 8:55Speaker 8: with you, because I don't know.
- 8:56Speaker 11: Who he is.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Okay.
- 8:58Speaker 8: I had no clue who he was, and I did myself,
- 9:01Speaker 8: you know, a solid here. I did not Google him
- 9:04Speaker 8: before I got here today.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 9:05Speaker 8: I didn't look up a single photo of him. I
- 9:08Speaker 8: wanted to be able to, because you've got it. Like,
- 9:10Speaker 8: reality is your thing.
- 9:11Speaker 7: Is it a shocker, people, that I do know who
- 9:14Speaker 7: he is?
- 9:16Speaker 8: Well, that's why I was like, I'm just going to
- 9:17Speaker 8: let Heather fill me in and school me on this
- 9:20Speaker 8: guy right now. Because what I get starting the show
- 9:23Speaker 8: is I feel like I got to know this kid.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 8: I can see by the way he talks and some
- 9:28Speaker 8: of the things that he says. I'm like, he had
- 9:30Speaker 8: to have been on some sort of just like boy
- 9:33Speaker 8: show before. just by the way he talks. But he's cute.
- 9:36Speaker 7: He's attractive.
- 9:37Speaker 8: He's a cutie for sure.
- 9:38Speaker 13: So we all got to know Harry Jousey back in
- 9:42Speaker 13: 2020 or 2021, somewhere around there. He was on the
- 9:45Speaker 13: first season of Netflix's Too Hot to Handle. Now, if
- 9:49Speaker 13: you don't know what that show is, it's where they
- 9:51Speaker 13: basically trick a bunch of hot people. They think that
- 9:54Speaker 13: they're going on a dating show. And then once they
- 9:56Speaker 13: get to the location, they say, actually, you're on too
- 10:00Speaker 13: hot to handle and you're not allowed to touch each
- 10:02Speaker 13: other or it will affect the cash prize. So they're
- 10:05Speaker 13: basically told that they can't hook up, get physical, get
- 10:08Speaker 13: intimate because it's about building a connection first. And there's
- 10:12Speaker 13: like a group prize pot that they're all playing with
- 10:15Speaker 13: it's a cash prize cash prize and anytime somebody breaks
- 10:18Speaker 13: the rules and makes out or does something else other
- 10:21Speaker 13: than making out the money depletes and that's what the
- 10:24Speaker 13: funniness of that show is now do I know anybody
- 10:27Speaker 13: watching too hot to handle anymore I do not I
- 10:30Speaker 13: think we kind of all got over a little bit
- 10:32Speaker 13: of it after season three I know I did but
- 10:36Speaker 13: Harry was on season one. He had a strong connection
- 10:39Speaker 13: with Francesca, who he dated on and off, you know,
- 10:44Speaker 13: during filming, after filming. He then went on Netflix's Perfect Match,
- 10:48Speaker 13: which we have recapped as well on this show. So
- 10:51Speaker 13: our audience kind of knows what that is. It's basically
- 10:54Speaker 13: a bunch of people from Netflix dating shows Coming to
- 10:57Speaker 13: date again. It's like their version of paradise, essentially.
- 11:00Speaker 8: Harry has made his rounds, it feels like.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yes, Harry is not a stranger.
- 11:05Speaker 13: And he's now got a podcast on the Unwell Network,
- 11:09Speaker 13: and he's 28. And some of my favorite lore, though,
- 11:13Speaker 13: recently about Harry is who he's dated or rumored to
- 11:17Speaker 13: have dated outside of TV.
- 11:19Speaker 9: So.
- 11:20Speaker 13: The big rumor was never like fully confirmed, like they
- 11:23Speaker 13: weren't spotted out together, but he was supposedly dating Lucy
- 11:27Speaker 13: Hale as of last year.
- 11:29Speaker 5: Stop it.
- 11:30Speaker 9: I know.
- 11:31Speaker 8: Which is- She's too good for him.
- 11:33Speaker 5: It's actually crazy.
- 11:35Speaker 13: That was a crazy one. The other was that he
- 11:38Speaker 13: was rumored to be dating Sia, the singer- chandelier.
- 11:43Speaker 8: Singer what the one with the who always has her face.
- 11:46Speaker 13: Yes yes but she's 50 he's 28 and if you
- 11:50Speaker 13: google it you will see Sia and Harry Jousey holding
- 11:53Speaker 13: hands photos but it was kind of debunked that it
- 11:57Speaker 13: was just to garner up press for this show that
- 12:01Speaker 13: we're about to recap because she then reposted the casting
- 12:05Speaker 13: notice for this show and So how they know each other,
- 12:08Speaker 13: how they're even friends, that is actually surprising to me.
- 12:12Speaker 13: But Harry has crossed over from reality TV and is
- 12:16Speaker 13: hanging out with people like Lucy, Hale, and Sia.
- 12:21Speaker 8: So he has come a long way. He sure has.
- 12:23Speaker 2: And we got to talk to Harry's winner, Amber.
- 12:26Speaker 14: I got this call and I got the opportunity and
- 12:28Speaker 14: I kind of just like wanted a sign for myself,
- 12:31Speaker 14: to be honest. And I got some really cool personal signs,
- 12:35Speaker 14: some like, I feel like it's hard to kind of
- 12:37Speaker 14: talk about these types of like spiritual things in this, um, environment.
- 12:41Speaker 14: Cause not a lot of people like I think can
- 12:44Speaker 14: digest that, which I've learned going on reality TV, but
- 12:46Speaker 14: I'm just going to keep it short and say, I
- 12:48Speaker 14: had a lot of really amazing signs to go. Like
- 12:50Speaker 14: my life told me like, this is a new timeline
- 12:52Speaker 14: for you. Take a chance on it. Um, and everything
- 12:55Speaker 14: that's transpired since saying yes to the show to now
- 12:59Speaker 14: the reunion.
- 13:00Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:01Speaker 5: It's, um, It was a big lesson for me. I'm sorry.
- 13:08Speaker 7: It's really hard to talk about like this, as you
- 13:13Speaker 7: saw the reunion yesterday.
- 13:16Speaker 14: But I know there's a reason this all happened, you know, and.
- 13:20Speaker 8: There's only so much I.
- 13:20Speaker 14: Can say because I have to be quiet about certain things.
- 13:26Speaker 14: But what I'm trying to say in my personal life.
- 13:27Speaker 15: Is, yeah, I know that this was meant to happen
- 13:31Speaker 15: to me for a reason.
- 13:32Speaker 2: We also caught up with Harry's runner up, Danelle.
- 13:36Speaker 7: I'm going to jump off from.
- 13:37Speaker 2: The beginning here because I know Deanna has a lot
- 13:39Speaker 2: of questions like details and digging into stuff.
- 13:42Speaker 7: And I was just on.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Social media and there's an argument going on on social
- 13:46Speaker 2: media that I want to ask you specifically about.
- 13:48Speaker 16: Okay.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Danelle, do you think Harry actually wanted to find a wife?
- 13:53Speaker 16: That's the million dollar question, isn't it?
- 13:55Speaker 12: Uh-huh.
- 13:56Speaker 16: You know, I think he does want a wife. I'm
- 14:00Speaker 16: just not sure if he's ready. I think deep down he,
- 14:04Speaker 16: you know, he did everything that he could to prepare
- 14:06Speaker 16: for it. His friends were saying, you know, he was
- 14:08Speaker 16: reading all these books and doing all these things, talking
- 14:11Speaker 16: to his like married friends, like getting advice before, like
- 14:13Speaker 16: to prepare himself for the show. I think he really
- 14:16Speaker 16: did want to find a wife.
- 14:17Speaker 7: I don't know if he's ready.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And our OG Bob Guinea connected with She's All Batch
- 14:22Speaker 2: host Stephanie Parker to get her thoughts on reality dating
- 14:27Speaker 2: shows and the state of the Bachelor franchise.
- 14:30Speaker 15: After I shared the legal letter, people started coming to
- 14:34Speaker 15: me and saying, I mean, I just had Corinne Olympios
- 14:36Speaker 15: on my show and she said, this topic came up
- 14:40Speaker 15: about how the franchise doesn't really love how people then
- 14:44Speaker 15: become famous after the show. And what I said in
- 14:47Speaker 15: response to that was, well, it doesn't matter what they
- 14:51Speaker 15: go off to do. They're still, they're tied to the franchise.
- 14:54Speaker 15: Like you think of Ashley, I, she's gone on to
- 14:56Speaker 15: do amazing things and she is incredible, but she's from
- 14:59Speaker 15: the bachelor and those are her roots and there's nothing
- 15:01Speaker 15: wrong with that. So I don't get why the bachelor
- 15:03Speaker 15: can't just say like, yeah, go off and be the
- 15:06Speaker 15: biggest star in the world. It looks good on us.
- 15:10Speaker 15: It's like when a teacher has a star student, like
- 15:13Speaker 15: it looks good on the teacher.
- 15:14Speaker 17: I don't get it.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I know.
- 15:16Speaker 10: I agree with you. I think it's really interesting. It's like,
- 15:19Speaker 10: You almost have to, if you can't beat them, join
- 15:21Speaker 10: them type of thing. And I think they're still in
- 15:23Speaker 10: the let's beat them process.
- 15:26Speaker 11: Right.
- 15:26Speaker 10: And it's like, man, you're kind of hanging on to
- 15:28Speaker 10: something that's getting really slippery. And, you know, you want
- 15:31Speaker 10: better people to put their names in the ring and
- 15:34Speaker 10: you want people who are, you know, going to, I mean,
- 15:36Speaker 10: I mean, this show is still relevant. Although I think
- 15:40Speaker 10: a lot of people are talking lately about how it's
- 15:41Speaker 10: lost so much relevance. And I'm curious about your thoughts
- 15:45Speaker 10: on that and then what you think we could do
- 15:46Speaker 10: to to right that ship, to get it to a
- 15:49Speaker 10: point where maybe it is.
- 15:51Speaker 7: Destination viewing for people again.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Oh, gosh.
- 15:55Speaker 15: I want them to... I think they should hire me.
- 15:57Speaker 15: I feel like I can give them a lot of pointers.
- 16:01Speaker 5: I think.
- 16:02Speaker 17: Is it relevant to answer your first question?
- 16:04Speaker 9: No.
- 16:05Speaker 15: I don't think it's relevant today. Does that mean they
- 16:08Speaker 15: can't turn it around? I think they could turn it around.
- 16:12Speaker 15: I think they had... like a blueprint of what the
- 16:16Speaker 15: show was in 2002, and they have not updated it
- 16:19Speaker 15: in how many years. I mean, I just covered on
- 16:22Speaker 15: my last episode, my thoughts on Let's Marry Harry. And
- 16:25Speaker 15: I didn't think that was the most groundbreaking television either,
- 16:28Speaker 15: but there was a lot of similarities to The Bachelor.
- 16:31Speaker 15: And I said, they took The Bachelor blueprint, but made
- 16:35Speaker 15: it modern and made it better.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Plus, I caught up with Meredith, the managing editor at
- 16:41Speaker 2: Pix Media. And she threw out some wild suggestions on
- 16:45Speaker 2: who she thinks should be the next Bachelor. There's rumors
- 16:48Speaker 2: that they are beginning the casting for the next Bachelor season.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Is there somebody in your mind right now when we
- 16:56Speaker 2: talk about stunt casting or maybe just a single popular
- 17:01Speaker 2: person who could carry this franchise as the lead of
- 17:05Speaker 2: Bachelor season?
- 17:06Speaker 7: I believe 30.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Wild.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Wild.
- 17:10Speaker 2: That comes to mind that you would love to see
- 17:12Speaker 2: kind of get put in that place?
- 17:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 17: I mean, I've definitely like seen the rumors that they're
- 17:18Speaker 17: considering someone from Taylor's season, which I think is a
- 17:22Speaker 17: terrible idea.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't get that.
- 17:24Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 7: Like let's start fresh.
- 17:25Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 7: It's, it's yeah, completely.
- 17:28Speaker 17: But I think, I think thinking realistically in the world
- 17:34Speaker 17: of Disney, Hulu, ABC, and all of their, you know,
- 17:38Speaker 17: cast of characters. I think it would, I have so
- 17:40Speaker 17: many like women in mind for The Bachelorette. Like, but
- 17:45Speaker 17: if we're talking male leads for The Bachelor, I want
- 17:49Speaker 17: to see Rob Kardashian come out of hiding. He has,
- 17:53Speaker 17: you know, Kardashians are now on Hulu and he has
- 17:58Speaker 17: not been in the public eye or even on cameras
- 18:00Speaker 17: for that show in years. He's a lover boy. We
- 18:03Speaker 17: have seen that. I think that would be, I mean,
- 18:08Speaker 17: break the internet. Let's see that.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I've never heard that name thrown out here and I
- 18:12Speaker 2: love it. Make sure to go back and catch up
