Transcript
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: Hey it's time for the opening crack, the sideshow to the DD show we normally do where we taste and rank some epic brews.
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: Can we do that tonight, fellas?
- 0:26SPEAKER_03: We have a full house.
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: Full house.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: We got two jacks and three kings.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: If you couldn't tell, we've got Damon back.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: That's a full house.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Or if you're playing Yahtzee, two threes and three fives.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: That's yes.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: Two of something and three of something else.
- 0:43SPEAKER_03: We do roll a lot of.
- 0:45SPEAKER_03: Except we only have four people here, so it's not really a full house.
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: Where's the dog?
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: Um he wouldn't leave people alone.
- 0:51SPEAKER_03: So Koopa the dungeon dog is not here tonight.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Is it like more of a kind for middle-aged white guys?
- 0:57SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 0:58SPEAKER_03: Four of a kind.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: Perfect.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: I don't know if that's a compliment or not.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: I don't know either.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Four jokers.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: That's for sure.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: That'll work.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, I wore my contacts tonight.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: Otherwise, we also would have all had glasses.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: Mine were killing me.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: I had to take them out.
- 1:13SPEAKER_03: You're like the jack of the deck of cards.
- 1:14SPEAKER_03: It's not like the other ones.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Ooh, is this game of sequence going on?
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: One-eyed or the two-eyed jack.
- 1:22SPEAKER_03: Okay, so we are off on the right foot tonight.
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: I know that's not gonna happen.
- 1:28SPEAKER_03: All right, boys.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: What are we drinking tonight?
- 1:31SPEAKER_03: Beer.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: No, we're drinking chonk.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Chonk.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Chonk.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: The Sunday sour mango apricot orange push-pop from Drecker Brewing Company out of Fargo, North Dakota.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Got to go to North Dakota.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: See the cattle and the wheat and the folks that can't be beep.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Ra-ra.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, this is is that a fight song?
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: I don't know if it's a fight song or not.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: I learned it when I was in college.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: Tammy taught it to me.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: Thanks, Tammy.
- 2:05SPEAKER_03: If you don't remember Damon, Damon, welcome back to the show.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: Damon is the brewmaster for steeplebrewing in Hastings, Nebraska.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: Uh, glad to have you on again.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: Welcome back.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: I'm back.
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: It's good to be back.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Keep me out.
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: Can't keep him down either, ever.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Now he knows where you live.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: He just comes in the door.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: He just comes in the door.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: We just told him we were recording and he showed up.
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: Boom.
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: I'm here.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: And then, of course, as always, Brett and Phil in the house.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: If you guys haven't taken a taste of the beer, I would say go ahead and do that and let's chat a little bit about some flavors going on here.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: This is our first sour.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: This is a new new world for us on selection.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: I would say for a sour, it's more sweet.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's more on the sweet side than sour.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Um did you ramble off all the other flavors that are in it?
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Let's run through them again.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: There's a lot going on here.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: So there's a lot of varieties of chunk that Drecker comes out with, but this one specifically is mango, apricot, orange, push pop.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: That's a lot of things.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: So taste like ice cream.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're gimmicks.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: They list gimmicks on the can.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: And it's mango, apricot, orange, vanilla sauce serve, and lactose.
- 3:17SPEAKER_03: I I mean, I definitely get the the vanilla, and it seems, at least for me, it comes in toward the end, kind of on the back of my palate a little bit.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: Um I I didn't realize it had soft serve in it until we actually took a look at at the flavors and the gimmicks on the can and stuff like that.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: It does taste very ice creamy to me.
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: Like it's not just vanilla.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, the it I it's got a really is really smooth, right?
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, just like the mouthfeel is really smooth.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Um I think somewhere also you listed off lactose as an added thing, which which that's what lactose does when you when you throw it in a beer, uh, because it doesn't ferment.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: It just it stays there and so it it just kind of smooths everything out.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: And it's not really it's not really very highly carbonated either, so you don't like get all those bubbles on your tongue, which just makes things feel smooth too.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Does it carry any flavor with it?
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Like it would have helped tone down some of the sweet notes.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, maybe a little bit.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because it just some of that sort of creaminess of it.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: You definitely can feel it.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Like that was pretty obvious, I think, when I first took the sip.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: I'm like, ah, there's lactose in there.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: It's just super smooth.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and the color of it as well.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: You I'm gonna guess that that mango and apricot is is puree when they put it in.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: That's a total guess.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: But it makes it sort of that also just adds to that smoothness of it as well.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: And makes it thicker, uh, but in a good way, I suppose.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: I I mean I was gonna bring that up too, because it's like uh we talk about mouthfeel when we when we talk about beers, and this does have a thicker mouthfeel to it.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: Like it's it's like we talk about beers being heavy or light.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: This is like thick, almost like uh uh like it's not quite a milkshake, but like smoothie.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, smoothies.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: It's like a push-pop melted, yes, that's exactly right.
- 5:13SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I would say it's very well described um how they've described it.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: So it's definitely has a different viscosity.
- 5:20SPEAKER_03: So this does come in at a 6.2 on the ABV.
- 5:24SPEAKER_03: I don't think you would know it if you handed this to somebody.
- 5:27SPEAKER_03: They would not go, Well, I taste the alcohol in this.
- 5:29SPEAKER_03: I'd be like, bull crap, you do.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: Um, and then nothing on the IBU.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I think if you handed this to someone and told them they were drinking a beer, they might think you're wrong.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: I think you're absolutely right.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: To be honest.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: This is a good way to get somebody really drunk for the very first time.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: So chonk.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: The can is great.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So I I have not drank a lot of chunks, and I I'm not sure if they all have the cat, but the cat on the can is fantastic.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Is a chonky boy.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: So so describe the can a little bit while we're here, if you would.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Uh, orange, yellows, kind of that if you think like creamsicle, it kind of looks like the creamsicle threw up on the can.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: And there's this massive, massive beast of a cat in the middle with green eyes or like slitted eyes.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Um it's a little kind of psychedelic.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: In running through their Facebook page, they've got a lot of versions of chonk, like some with chocolate, some with strawberry, some with marshmallow, all over the board, all kind of unique, unusual beers that all kind of sound tasty.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: I think chonk is a real cat that exists.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Gotta be.
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: I assume so.
- 6:37unknown: Yeah.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Or did, and they're trying to resurrect it.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: That could be just a pentagram on the can.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure where push pops and creamsickles come into that.
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: Uh, but you know, whatever.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Nothing else is but worth it.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Offerings, offerings to chonk.
- 6:52SPEAKER_03: Uh my gut tells me, like, I could probably not have multiples of these, but it would make an excellent dessert beer.
- 6:59SPEAKER_03: Like, pour some of this over, like, do it put a couple scoops of ice cream in a bowl and pour some of this over it and float a beer would be really good with this beer.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: So a nice one of these in the summer when it's like 100 degrees outside.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 7:15unknown: Oh, gosh, that's it.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: It's a good summer beer.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: It just snowed yesterday.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: I'm so ready for that.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: Uh, okay, so let's let's head to Fey Rune.
- 7:23SPEAKER_03: Let's talk a little bit about uh what's this beer called in the world of DD and uh uh what route were you finding it finding in?
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: Phil, uh you're back after taking a week off, so you're going first this week.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Ah, I see how it is.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: All right, well, I was I think I figured out where this came from.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna rename this beer, uh, the sands of summer, as we appropriately discuss it.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: It's a great summer beer.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Uh, and you can find this at a place where your worries melt away like a sand castle at high tide.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: You can find this at the sunken sand castle nestled in water deep.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: Sunken sandcastle.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Is waterdeep?
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Is it like Amsterdam?
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: It's like underneath water.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Uh no, not fully underneath water, but it does have docks right along the Sea of Swords.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: All right, Brett.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Coastal city.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: You got anything else?
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: You want to throw anything else in there?
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Uh, there's a bunch backstory, but we're trying to keep under time limit today, so we're just not gonna go there.
- 8:16SPEAKER_03: So, what Phil's saying is he overachieved and we're moving on.
- 8:19SPEAKER_03: Okay, got it.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Brett! Uh, mine comes in not from a single location, but this comes out of a rolling cart.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Specifically, a balloon animal making cart.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, so interesting.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: The wondrous Wyvern Creations cart travels from city to city putting on birthday parties, summer festivals, um, just entertaining the kids.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And the balloons don't quite cut it.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: So they serve them.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: He's serving minors?
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: No.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: Hold on a second.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: Ow, time out.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know what the laws are if they rude, but everybody is gonna have a great time.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: So while the kids are getting their balloons, the parents can go off to the side of the cart, coming out kind of out of the back of the wagon, is the the Bards brew's tangy tail.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I definitely thought you're gonna throw like sidecar in there somehow.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Like they go to the sidecar.
- 9:13SPEAKER_03: Tangy tail.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: The tangy tail.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: I like it.
- 9:16SPEAKER_03: Is it sketchy at all that they have to go around the back side of the cart?
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: They don't want the kids to see.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: It's zoning.
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: It's you know, it's simple.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: Front side of the car is kids, kids are okay.
- 9:25SPEAKER_03: Backside is adult-only zoning.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: It's a permit issue, really.
- 9:29SPEAKER_03: I'm glad we clarified that.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: I appreciate that.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Neverwinter gets pretty particular about those types of things.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: It's you know, the bureaucracy.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: Because I feel like I feel like they're the man is keeping everybody down in Neverwinter.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: All right, Damon.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: Well, I felt that this was sort of this is a very sort of elevated um um brew, and there's sort of a lot going on in it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: I thought this is you're not just gonna find this at any establishment.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: This is gonna be at some of your your classier, sort of more of a high-end.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: You're not gonna find it out of a rolling cart.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Well.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Shots fired.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think so.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Where are you going?
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: Well, you know how like high-end restaurants, they're like their n their name is just like an emotion or something.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: Because they're just like they're just selling an idea or whatever it is that they claim that they're doing.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Um, so this is you can find this at the establishment known as the Wellspring.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Ooh, okay.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: And it's it's kind of like this pseudo healthy sort of like you go there under the guise of like, I got a lot of money, and I'm going to like the health spa sort of a place, but it's you really everybody's just getting drunk, and that's you know, it is what it is, right?
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: Um, and the name of the drink is Restful Nectar is the name.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Good.
- 10:52SPEAKER_03: I I feel like this would be in the bathhouse in Baldur's Gate.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: Like people go there, it's like the back room at the bathhouse in Baldur's Gate.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: Well, in one of the many bathhouses in Baldurgate.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: When the when they go to visit it and it shows up on their bank statement, it looks fine.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, I just went to the health spot.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: One full treatment bath.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: You spent$65 at the bathhouse?
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: We need itemized receipt.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Boy, I hope his wife doesn't ask about that.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: That'd be weird.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: Awkward.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: Well, Ross, where are you coming at us from?
- 11:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, well, I don't know about from so much, but uh this one it it you'll find this beer sold in the Star Hoof Creamery.
- 11:33SPEAKER_03: So it is known for its milk and butter and stuff like that.
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: But then as a little side business, he started selling Karon's orange cream sickle.
- 11:43SPEAKER_03: So good that you might just die.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: Caron, get it, get it, get it?
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: I do not.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: You don't get it?
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: Okay, Caron's the boat man in this in the river sticks.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: He ferries the people across the river sticks.
- 11:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 11:53SPEAKER_03: So there you go.
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: That's where Karon comes from.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: Uh, and the head it's run by a group of centaurs, by the way, with the head brewmaster being his name is Thallos, is his name.
- 12:04SPEAKER_03: So I don't know where this would be.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: It's probably out somewhere, not in a city, probably out on the plains.
- 12:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_03: Somewhere along a dirt road somewhere.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Like a like a farm or something.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Well, sure.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're gonna need some uh some pasture.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: With his his fifty head of cattle he's got.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Okay, so this is a half horse, half human.
- 12:24unknown: Correct.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Is that what it is?
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Running a cattle operation who owns cows?
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:28SPEAKER_03: I know it sounds weird, but it's fine.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Employee satyrs to do all that coworking.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 12:33SPEAKER_03: Goats, cows, horses.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: It's fine.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: He's got everything.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Anything with hoops.
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: Wins lots of purple ribbons at the county fair.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: Half a ribbon.
- 12:42SPEAKER_03: Half a ribbon, I guess.
- 12:44SPEAKER_03: That's a good goat ask, right?
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: Magic milking.
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: Ribbon.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: We've lost control.
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: Went off rails.
- 12:54SPEAKER_03: It's all fine.
- 12:55SPEAKER_03: How are we doing on time?
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: Hey, we're doing great on time.
- 12:57SPEAKER_03: This is amazing.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: Uh so let's talk a little bit now.
- 13:01SPEAKER_03: Anybody anybody got anything else to add about your brew that you've come up with?
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: I'm still a little sketched out by by Brett's uh walking wagon of beer and and balloons.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: Beer and balloons.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: But think if you saw that rolling into town, well, I would definitely check it out.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: That's how excited you'd be.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: He could.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know how he'd keep it cold, but he could sell like ice cream on the kids' side and then use that same like it over.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Maybe he gets the ice cream from the uh Centar.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: Hey, let's go into business to get it.
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: You're the supplier.
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: Hey, somebody's gotta do it, right?
- 13:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: It's fine.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: And then you you can use my brew house because I don't know where you're brewing your beer, but bingo.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: See, we got the whole thing worked out.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: We're a little worried about your sanitation standards.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: You guys send it to the Wellspring, they'll rebrand it and upcharge it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: That's kind of what it sounds like everybody does.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: It's all perfect.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: We've got this whole thing worked out now.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: It's the same product, just different label.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: It's like we're money money laundering in Fey Rune.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Whatever.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: Uh okay, let's talk a little bit about uh challenge rating for this one.
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: So if you haven't been on uh listened to the show in a while, uh we rank this on a scale of one to twenty.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: Um, and then cream ale's domestics would be on the one side with uh the 20s being double IPAs, imperial stouts, things like that, with heavy so heavy hops, heavy bitterness, things like that.
- 14:27SPEAKER_03: Um this one might be a fun one to rank, guys.
- 14:29SPEAKER_03: Who wants to start?
- 14:31SPEAKER_03: What's the scale again?
- 14:32SPEAKER_03: One to twenty.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: One to twenty.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 14:35SPEAKER_03: So like one being really low, easy to drink.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: And keep in mind this is like for somebody, like you're ranking this for somebody who uh has maybe never had craft beers before.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: So like as an entry beer, where would this be?
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: Uh I can go.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: Go, yeah.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say this is uh can I give out half or this is a whole integers?
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: Nope, I think that's fine.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: Halves are fine.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: This is a two, in my in my uh humble opinion.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: I think all of the all of the fruitiness, all of the sweetness, all of the sort of creaminess makes it really really easy to get into, I think.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: I would go just a hair higher than that at a three, only because of the sourness and like kind of the bite that that has.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: That's not a beer bite by any means.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: You make a a cream ale for one of your beers.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: That one I think was a little bit more entry-level than this one, just because of that sharpness the sour kicks in to it.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Not necessarily a turnoff for pet non-beer drinkers, it's just you have to kind of like sour to get into this.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I probably think landmine in that same realm, Brett, in the three.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Also, I really enjoy like the lactose in a sour like this, but to some people it could be a little off-putting, like if they've never had it before, they might not want it to be a little, you know, little thicker like that.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: So but flavor profile wise, yeah, it's really probably like a one flavor profile wise.
- 16:03SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I think uh I I'm gonna give it a one and a half.
- 16:07SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go even lower than the two.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: Only because I think if if you put this in front of somebody and you said this is a cream sickle beer and you you're gonna like this and they tried it, I think they'd down the whole pint.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: I don't think that would be an issue with this beer.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: I think you could set it in front of someone and be like, here, try this.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: I think you'll like it.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: And they would just knock it back and be like, that was delicious, and be like, yeah, that was six point whatever, six point two percent beer.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: I'd be like, what?
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: What?
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: And also, yeah, that was technically beer.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 16:35SPEAKER_03: Uh okay, so let's go around the horn really quick.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: Yay or nay, this is for us.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: Would you drink this one again, Damon?
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: I think I already have.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: He's been back.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: He's been back.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Brett?
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Uh I would lightly say yay.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: I'm not a big cream lactose beer type of person.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: So I would only have one of these occasionally, but I do appreciate it.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: It's a yay for me.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: I loved it.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: I would drink another right now.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: I I say yay too.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: I again, I don't think I could drink multiple of these of these like back to back, but I really want to try this as a float sometime.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: I think that would be really, really interesting.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, anything else to add, guys?
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: We need to try some of those other chunks.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: I think there's some interesting ones.
- 17:19SPEAKER_03: Hey, if you're out there from from uh uh what's it brewing company again.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: You gotta go to North Dakota.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: If you're listening, please send us uh another chunk to try.
- 17:29SPEAKER_03: I think that would be fan flippantastic.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: But, anyways, that's gonna do it for this bonus episode.
