- 0:06Speaker 2: Hello, everybody, we are scrubbing.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Is scrub a dub dub? Not in the tub, tub tub.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We're not in the tub.
- 0:15Speaker 4: We're in Epic Con in Chicago, at Epic Con. Yeah, Coga, Jason, correct,
- 0:23Speaker 4: we are here because why are we here?
- 0:26Speaker 2: Tanya? Do you want to know why we're here?
- 0:28Speaker 5: I do know why we were, why we're here. I
- 0:30Speaker 5: know why we're here to the ladies of epicn are
- 0:32Speaker 5: huge scrubbers, which shout out.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Shout out, but also all women run company.
- 0:36Speaker 5: And all women run company made out of professional fangirls,
- 0:41Speaker 5: which I personally love to see.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I just love that being a fangirl resulted in a
- 0:48Speaker 2: whole convention.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah, of fellow fangirls.
- 0:50Speaker 2: A fellow fangirls. Yeah, and people as fans can come
- 0:55Speaker 2: and pay and meet their favorite stars from their favorite shows.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 0:58Speaker 2: What a genius concept.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:00Speaker 5: I love a con Maybe maybe one day you and
- 1:04Speaker 5: I could make a convention.
- 1:06Speaker 2: What would that be?
- 1:06Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Let's put a pin in it.
- 1:08Speaker 2: We'll come back to that, we'll brainstorm that. But for now,
- 1:10Speaker 2: we're here because This epic con specifically is for the
- 1:14Speaker 2: first responders of TV.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Correct, So we're gonna have a couple episodes for you
- 1:19Speaker 5: from here, and this one is going to consist. We're
- 1:22Speaker 5: gonna call this one our Gray's Anatomy episode.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So creative, Yeah you got. I thought you were about
- 1:28Speaker 2: to hit me with like a creative title for them.
- 1:31Speaker 5: This one's just going to be the Gray's Anatomy episode. Yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 5: So it's going to consist of Adelaide, Cain, Jake BURRELLI, Skyler, Aston,
- 1:40Speaker 5: Jason George.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Some of our all time faves.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Jason George was our first ever when it.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Was just me a solo artist, and I have also
- 1:48Speaker 5: had him on since I knows.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Aspect is that he was our first scrubbing and guests ever.
- 1:54Speaker 2: He got the ball rolling.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yes he did. He believed in us when no one,
- 1:58Speaker 3: no one else did.
- 2:00Speaker 2: When I only believed in myself.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't even believe in you at that point.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Wow wow wow wow.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Okay, before this gets harsh, let's begin, let's begin, all.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Right, everybody. Adelaide Kine is here. Hi, guys Ico, how
- 2:19Speaker 2: you doing me too? How are you doing? I'm good.
- 2:22Speaker 8: I just slammed a cold brew and oh wow, it's
- 2:25Speaker 8: hitting my system.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Just loving it.
- 2:28Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, incredible, I'm doing well good.
- 2:31Speaker 2: You said you do a lot of these fan conventions. Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 8: I took last year off because I was feeling a
- 2:37Speaker 8: little bit burnt out. But I've done a bunch. Most
- 2:39Speaker 8: of the conventions I do are in Europe or in
- 2:41Speaker 8: Paris or Milan or in the UK. I haven't done
- 2:44Speaker 8: a huge amount of like US based conventions. So it's
- 2:47Speaker 8: really nice to be here in Chicago and be like, oh,
- 2:50Speaker 8: it's only a four hour flight instead of fourteen.
- 2:53Speaker 3: It's so nice.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 5: How do the Gray's Anatomy fans compare to the rest?
- 2:58Speaker 8: The Gray's Anatomy fans have been really lovely and quite
- 3:01Speaker 8: welcoming considering a brand new They're really lovely.
- 3:05Speaker 2: They're very chill.
- 3:06Speaker 8: It's interesting the spread of Gray's Anatomy fans from like,
- 3:10Speaker 8: you know, people closer to middle age to younger people
- 3:15Speaker 8: like my cousin is a Gray's Anatomy fan. She's been
- 3:17Speaker 8: watching since high school. So a lot of Gray's fans
- 3:20Speaker 8: have been with the show for decades, like have been
- 3:25Speaker 8: with the show for years, and it.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Really is like a part of their life.
- 3:29Speaker 8: So it's really interesting to be meeting fans who have
- 3:32Speaker 8: been you know, like they know the show better than
- 3:35Speaker 8: I do, and I've only been on it for sort
- 3:39Speaker 8: of two years. It's it's really remarkable, like just like
- 3:42Speaker 8: the dedication and they're all super chill as well, Like
- 3:45Speaker 8: they're all really chill, and I'm like, right, because this
- 3:47Speaker 8: is this show is like a childhood friend for you. Yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 8: you know, and with some of the younger shows that
- 3:53Speaker 8: I've done, you know, the fans are really hopped up
- 3:55Speaker 8: on it. So it's a new show and they're very
- 3:57Speaker 8: excited and they've just discovered it, and you know, the
- 3:59Speaker 8: energy is very high, and I find with like Gray's fans.
- 4:02Speaker 3: The energy is very steady. It's very calm.
- 4:05Speaker 8: They're like, ah, welcome to our family, and I'm like, oh, thanks,
- 4:09Speaker 8: I'm so glad to be here because it truly does
- 4:12Speaker 8: feel like I'm joining something that belongs to them. It
- 4:15Speaker 8: doesn't belong to me the way my participation in other
- 4:18Speaker 8: shows has belonged to me. In this sort of a
- 4:21Speaker 8: testament to how long the show's been going for, in
- 4:23Speaker 8: the dedication of its fans that they've been with it
- 4:26Speaker 8: for twenty seasons, which is significant crazy.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I was going to ask, though, what was it like
- 4:32Speaker 2: coming into a show that was so established and like
- 4:36Speaker 2: having a cast that was so established. Was there anything
- 4:39Speaker 2: like your first day being on set? Was there this
- 4:41Speaker 2: feeling of intimidation going on? Or was it like, I mean.
- 4:44Speaker 8: Absolutely, Like any time you join a show later on
- 4:48Speaker 8: post its inception, like with you know, teen Wolf Once
- 4:51Speaker 8: upon a time, there's always a little bit of anxiety
- 4:53Speaker 8: and a little bit of nerves. You don't know what
- 4:54Speaker 8: kind of dynamic you're coming into. All what places ever
- 4:59Speaker 8: have interesting in different personalities, none more so than acting.
- 5:04Speaker 8: You know, a lot of us are eccentric. There are
- 5:06Speaker 8: a lot of very strong personalities in acting, and you
- 5:10Speaker 8: really never know. You never know what you're going to get.
- 5:12Speaker 8: Like is everyone a big family and you're going to
- 5:15Speaker 8: feel kind of left.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Out a little bit?
- 5:16Speaker 8: You always feel left out a little bit initially or
- 5:19Speaker 8: does everybody kind of like do their own thing? Where
- 5:21Speaker 8: do you fit in? Who your friends are going to be?
- 5:24Speaker 8: It's like it's like starting a new school. You're like,
- 5:26Speaker 8: who am I going to be friends with?
- 5:27Speaker 2: You?
- 5:28Speaker 5: What is the most welcoming when you like your first day.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Everyone was very welcoming.
- 5:35Speaker 8: To be honest, like, we were all very pleasantly surprised,
- 5:37Speaker 8: and the five of us coming in, we had all met,
- 5:41Speaker 8: and Midori Francis was like, we should all have an
- 5:44Speaker 8: intern dinner because us five are joining at the same time.
- 5:47Speaker 8: And I think for a lot of the like older
- 5:49Speaker 8: but sort of more recent cast, they came in one
- 5:51Speaker 8: of the time, they didn't come in a group, and
- 5:53Speaker 8: I think that is more intimidating than coming in with
- 5:56Speaker 8: an influx a few people, because all five of us
- 5:59Speaker 8: had dinner and we were like, right, you're cool, you're cool,
- 6:01Speaker 8: you're cool, you're cool, You're cool. Okay, except for Niko.
- 6:04Speaker 8: We've all been doing this for a very long time
- 6:06Speaker 8: and he's our sweet little angel baby that we all
- 6:09Speaker 8: baby even though we shouldn't because he's a grown man.
- 6:12Speaker 8: But you know, he's new to actings. This is this
- 6:15Speaker 8: second job ever, and we're like, he's just one of
- 6:17Speaker 8: those people that has like the luck of the gods
- 6:20Speaker 8: just shining upon him at all times, and well deserved
- 6:23Speaker 8: because he's a perfect little honey bunch. But we all
- 6:26Speaker 8: went right, Okay, no matter what happens, we're in this together.
- 6:31Speaker 8: It's the five of us. We've got each other's back.
- 6:33Speaker 8: If you know, if one of us needs something, we
- 6:36Speaker 8: all come together. So it doesn't it doesn't matter what
- 6:39Speaker 8: the vibe is on set. We've got each other. I
- 6:41Speaker 8: got you, you got me. We'll just make a little
- 6:42Speaker 8: packed right here and right now.
- 6:44Speaker 3: We're good.
- 6:45Speaker 8: And then we went on to set and it was
- 6:49Speaker 8: it was really everyone was just really lovely, really lovely,
- 6:53Speaker 8: and really welcoming and very kind and held a lot
- 6:56Speaker 8: of space for us. Chandra gave us a few really
- 7:00Speaker 8: wonderful sort of like speeches about you know, the fans
- 7:05Speaker 8: and respects for the fans, and and Camilla was like, look,
- 7:09Speaker 8: just to warn you, the fans might not like you
- 7:11Speaker 8: for the first year or two, but they will come around.
- 7:13Speaker 3: They're very devoted to the show. They're devoted to the.
- 7:16Speaker 8: Show, So anyone knew that comes in and might like
- 7:19Speaker 8: disturb the piece or take some time and space away
- 7:23Speaker 8: from their favorites, they might not be chill with you initially,
- 7:26Speaker 8: but you'll grow on them.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Don't worry about it. Yeah, you know, it.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Was good advice.
- 7:32Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I mean I've watched it since I was in high school,
- 7:36Speaker 2: and it's like everyone knew every time they brought new people.
- 7:39Speaker 8: You're like, oh, not truly, because you want more airtime
- 7:44Speaker 8: for your favorite characters and your favorite storylines.
- 7:46Speaker 5: And you're like, I did not like Joe Wilson when
- 7:48Speaker 5: she came in, And now she's.
- 7:49Speaker 8: Like she was like, people hated me, and I'm like,
- 7:51Speaker 8: I can't imagine that because I feel like you're so
- 7:53Speaker 8: funny and so wonderful.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah that's true.
- 7:55Speaker 8: She's like, yeah, no, they love me now. I just
- 7:57Speaker 8: you know, you're you're invading their home. Yeah, you're invading
- 8:01Speaker 8: their home. It's like you know when you bring a
- 8:03Speaker 8: new puppy and your older dog is.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Like, what the fuck is this?
- 8:06Speaker 8: Like it takes some minutes to adjust. You're disturbing the peace,
- 8:10Speaker 8: and they'll get over it. But everyone was really really
- 8:13Speaker 8: kind and really lovely, and not all sets are like that. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 8: they're not necessarily like mean to you, but everybody has
- 8:20Speaker 8: their own lives and their own things going on, and
- 8:23Speaker 8: you know, adults and families, and not everybody has time
- 8:28Speaker 8: to be as kind as they would perhaps want to be,
- 8:32Speaker 8: or invest time in people who might not necessarily be
- 8:34Speaker 8: there for a long time. I mean, we signed a
- 8:36Speaker 8: series regular, so that's a little different, but for guests
- 8:39Speaker 8: or reoccurring guests. And we had this on Rain where
- 8:42Speaker 8: we'd have people come in for a couple of episodes
- 8:45Speaker 8: and we would take them out for drinks because we
- 8:47Speaker 8: had such a big cast, and the theory was they'll
- 8:50Speaker 8: get along with someone and then they'll have a friend,
- 8:52Speaker 8: because coming into a new show you don't know anyone
- 8:55Speaker 8: in like a different city or a different country can
- 8:57Speaker 8: be really intimidating and really lonely.
- 9:00Speaker 2: You know, it was, it was.
- 9:01Speaker 3: It was great.
- 9:02Speaker 8: Like I think, I think we expected to take a
- 9:04Speaker 8: little bit longer to adjust, but.
- 9:07Speaker 3: We didn't.
- 9:08Speaker 8: Down to our producers and our you know, showrunner and
- 9:12Speaker 8: all of our writers were just they were on us.
- 9:15Speaker 2: They were great.
- 9:16Speaker 8: They put us through medical boot camp and they were like,
- 9:18Speaker 8: wimssimilate you as quickly uncomfortably as possible, and they and
- 9:21Speaker 8: they did.
- 9:22Speaker 2: We just like slotted right in.
- 9:23Speaker 8: They made space for us and it was very comfortable.
- 9:25Speaker 7: Good.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think having the like everyone coming in together,
- 9:29Speaker 2: like you said, having a group probably made it so
- 9:31Speaker 2: much easier, having like that experience.
- 9:34Speaker 8: Yeah, it made it easier for all of us because
- 9:35Speaker 8: we were just like cool, wear our own little unit
- 9:38Speaker 8: and we have our storylines and whatever, so you know,
- 9:41Speaker 8: come what may. If everyone's wonderful and kind of welcoming, excellent.
- 9:46Speaker 9: Come what.
- 9:49Speaker 7: We love you, and till lot.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I need to rewatch that movie.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I don't know what was that the Muppets. That was
- 9:59Speaker 2: the Muppets.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Okay, I've never heard anybody say come man. I was like,
- 10:04Speaker 3: I just came over me. I couldn't not be.
- 10:07Speaker 2: As they've become disaster.
- 10:15Speaker 3: But I'm glad you knew it because that would have
- 10:16Speaker 3: been really.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You would have been by yourself. You've not been here.
- 10:22Speaker 3: We have two very important questions.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Okay, it was my important question. I don't know if
- 10:27Speaker 2: we have the same one. But my important question is
- 10:29Speaker 2: at the end of this last season, there was a
- 10:31Speaker 2: very I felt very shocked by it, a moment between
- 10:36Speaker 2: Mika and Jewels where there was almost a kiss, it
- 10:39Speaker 2: felt like. And the whole lead up to this was
- 10:43Speaker 2: that you were with men dating men right on the show.
- 10:46Speaker 2: And it was a shock, I think to everybody one
- 10:50Speaker 2: but we know Madori's leaving the show, well was it?
- 10:52Speaker 3: It was a shock, yes.
- 10:53Speaker 8: But then there was also a conversation with blue Or
- 10:57Speaker 8: where we're discussing dating and I mentioned because I had
- 11:01Speaker 8: brought that up as well, where I was like, we
- 11:02Speaker 8: need to we need to make sure that like this
- 11:05Speaker 8: isn't like, oh my gosh, she like it doesn't have
- 11:08Speaker 8: to be a whole awakening. I'd like to treat this
- 11:09Speaker 8: like it isn't a big deal. So when I came out,
- 11:12Speaker 8: I told, you know, my friends and my family and
- 11:14Speaker 8: they were like, we know, what.
- 11:16Speaker 9: Do you mean?
- 11:18Speaker 8: I thought everybody knows, and I was like, oh, right, right, right,
- 11:20Speaker 8: r right. So we do have a conversation where I
- 11:23Speaker 8: reference an ex girlfriend, and I was like, I want
- 11:26Speaker 8: to drop that in there and for it to just
- 11:27Speaker 8: be like, it's there, it's canon. It doesn't have to
- 11:31Speaker 8: be a big deal, because I don't think that those
- 11:33Speaker 8: should be huge conversations anymore. I think it should just
- 11:35Speaker 8: be like, yeah, right, cool, it doesn't have it like
- 11:38Speaker 8: as we move towards like a more inclusive society, like
- 11:42Speaker 8: she is canonically bisexual, as am I and I I
- 11:49Speaker 8: was really excited at the potential development of that relationship
- 11:53Speaker 8: into something like possibly romantic one because I haven't had
- 11:58Speaker 8: the opportunity to play a queer character on screen. It's
- 12:01Speaker 8: really wonderful to feel like I finally get to sort
- 12:03Speaker 8: of represent myself in a very visible way on such
- 12:07Speaker 8: a huge show. It's very exciting for me. And also
- 12:11Speaker 8: I just I love working with Midori and as like
- 12:15Speaker 8: another queer woman. I you know, we've had conversations about
- 12:18Speaker 8: it where she's like, she's done a lot of queer
- 12:21Speaker 8: storylines with heterosexual women, and she was very excited at
- 12:26Speaker 8: the possibility because like we're both queer, and it's just
- 12:29Speaker 8: so much easier kind of like you know, like it
- 12:36Speaker 8: would it would be a lot easier, and it would
- 12:38Speaker 8: be a wonderful time to work with such an exceptional
- 12:41Speaker 8: talent and get to develop a really beautiful, heartbreaking storyline
- 12:45Speaker 8: with someone I consider one of my good friends. If
- 12:48Speaker 8: I was if I was able to have that opportunity
- 12:52Speaker 8: in this new season, and yes, because she is leaving,
- 12:55Speaker 8: it could potentially maybe be either very heartwarming or also
- 12:59Speaker 8: extremely hard breaking, maybe a bit of both, if hypothetically
- 13:04Speaker 8: that was something that the show to explore.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Wow, as a fellow bisexual, I would love a storyline
- 13:11Speaker 2: like that truly, but I can't.
- 13:13Speaker 8: Tell you anything.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So yeah, Wow, Well that's that was more than anyone
- 13:16Speaker 2: ever gives us from the Grace world.
- 13:19Speaker 5: So I respect of that, and then this question is
- 13:21Speaker 5: going to be very easy. But we need to know
- 13:24Speaker 5: what your toxic trait is.
- 13:25Speaker 2: But not we don't need to try that need to
- 13:28Speaker 2: be traumatic.
- 13:29Speaker 4: But.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I know exactly.
- 13:31Speaker 8: I mean, I'm always five to ten minutes late as well,
- 13:33Speaker 8: but that's part as a personality trait and an ADHD.
- 13:35Speaker 8: Think that I've been really working on. My toxic trait
- 13:38Speaker 8: is that I am a monster when I'm hungry. Like
- 13:41Speaker 8: that is my most toxic trait. And the toxic part
- 13:44Speaker 8: about it is I don't know that I'm hungry until
- 13:48Speaker 8: and I just start copying in attitude and I don't
- 13:51Speaker 8: know that I'm copying an attitude. I don't notice it.
- 13:53Speaker 8: And some of my friends have started just like feeding
- 13:58Speaker 8: me ahead of time because they clock it before I do.
- 14:00Speaker 8: And they'll be like, I'm gonna like swingering McDonald's and
- 14:02Speaker 8: get some nuggets. Do you want anything? And I'm like no,
- 14:04Speaker 8: and they're like, I'm gonna get you something anyway, and
- 14:06Speaker 8: they'll just get it for me. And then I start
- 14:07Speaker 8: eating and I'm like, oh, oh, I was hungry and
- 14:10Speaker 8: they're like, yeah, you're being a bitch, and I was
- 14:12Speaker 8: like what, I'm so nice and they're like, no, you're
- 14:15Speaker 8: not when you're hungry. And half the time I'm like, oh,
- 14:20Speaker 8: that's why some people find me scary and intimidating, a
- 14:23Speaker 8: standoffish sometimes because they've met me when I'm at an
- 14:26Speaker 8: event and I had, like I've had a small dinner
- 14:29Speaker 8: and where two hours in because I'm gonna dress some
- 14:31Speaker 8: spanks and whatever, and I'm hungry. And when I'm hungry,
- 14:34Speaker 8: I go dead silent and I have resting bitch fays,
- 14:37Speaker 8: Like there are a bunch of people out there who
- 14:40Speaker 8: just think I'm a dick because they've only met me
- 14:42Speaker 8: when I'm hungry and I'm like practically nonverbal. That is
- 14:46Speaker 8: my toxic trait.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It actually severely impacts my life. And now that out
- 14:51Speaker 3: there so people know.
- 14:52Speaker 8: As people get to know me, they're like, oh, that's
- 14:55Speaker 8: why you got snacks all the time. Yeah, And I'm like, yes, yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 8: actually that's why I have snacks all the time.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 7: I have to.
- 15:03Speaker 8: Constantly By the time I know I'm hungry, it's too late.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'll be doing laundry for my girlfriend and
- 15:08Speaker 2: I and there will be snacks, like actual snacks in
- 15:11Speaker 2: her pockets, and I'm like, why did did you not
- 15:13Speaker 2: feel this when you were And she's like, you know,
- 15:14Speaker 2: I have to have my like emergency snacks.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Put them in the washing.
- 15:19Speaker 8: Yes, I always have a granola bar or like a
- 15:22Speaker 8: packet of granola bar.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Just yeah, I mean she is you know, she'll have
- 15:26Speaker 2: big pockets, big pockets.
- 15:29Speaker 3: We keep getting the.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Wraps so much fun. Stay stay well fed.
- 15:35Speaker 8: I'm actually going to a snack right now.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 15:41Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 15:41Speaker 3: It was a pleasure to the old time.
- 15:58Speaker 2: All right, everybody, we have Jake forrelling. Thanks for having
- 16:04Speaker 2: me back in the hour a scrubbing in bet yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 6: Scrub It's been a while though. I've missed you.
- 16:11Speaker 7: Guys.
- 16:13Speaker 3: We're really going to miss you.
- 16:14Speaker 6: I know, everybody, How did it happen?
- 16:18Speaker 7: Do you know what?
- 16:19Speaker 6: I'm always the last. I have no idea what happened,
- 16:22Speaker 6: but I know that we're shooting some really cool episodes
- 16:25Speaker 6: to sort of round out the levi of it all.
- 16:28Speaker 6: And are you going to die?
- 16:30Speaker 3: I mean I hope not, because then you come back.
- 16:34Speaker 6: Yeah, although now even if you die, apparently you can
- 16:37Speaker 6: come back to ghost I do joke because I don't
- 16:42Speaker 6: know if Meredith Gray is ever going to be like
- 16:44Speaker 6: dreaming about Levi's So we'll see if he ends up
- 16:46Speaker 6: at the ghost speech.
- 16:47Speaker 2: But yeah, how did you feel about the storyline with
- 16:51Speaker 2: Nico coming back and having a partner and having a
- 16:55Speaker 2: baby because I was upset.
- 16:57Speaker 6: I the trauma was thick in my body as well,
- 17:02Speaker 6: because you know that, you know that like drop in
- 17:05Speaker 6: your heart when you like run into an X. It
- 17:07Speaker 6: was like that times eleven because he was having the
- 17:10Speaker 6: relationship that Levi I always wanted with him and that
- 17:13Speaker 6: he said he didn't want or couldn't communicate. So yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 6: it was pretty dramatic, but I think, you know, it
- 17:19Speaker 6: was a cool way to end that romance and sort
- 17:24Speaker 6: of put a cap on it. I thought he might
- 17:26Speaker 6: come back with some like issues with the baby, but
- 17:28Speaker 6: we'll see.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I mean, we hope not, but we pray, we pray
- 17:33Speaker 2: that's not the case.
- 17:34Speaker 3: But I was mad.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I was thinking like that, like I can't think of
- 17:37Speaker 2: a worse feel like in real life. I felt that,
- 17:40Speaker 2: like like you said, that feeling of you see someone
- 17:44Speaker 2: that you wanted everything with and they were like I
- 17:46Speaker 2: can't do it with you, and then they do it with.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Someone else, yes, And then he says like I haven't
- 17:51Speaker 6: met anyone who's like as kind as awesome as my
- 17:54Speaker 6: new partner. I was like, what are you saying to me?
- 17:58Speaker 3: Was horrible.
- 18:02Speaker 5: I just feel like you've been a part of Grace
- 18:04Speaker 5: for so many years, and is there anything or anyone
- 18:08Speaker 5: in particular that you're going to be like staying in
- 18:11Speaker 5: touch with, Like, who are the people that you're really
- 18:13Speaker 5: gonna like?
- 18:14Speaker 2: No, we we we saw pictures of them from all time.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Last night, I know we were with Camilla and Jess
- 18:22Speaker 5: right before were they going to dinner with.
- 18:29Speaker 6: You could have just snuck in, I mean we were
- 18:31Speaker 6: sitting on the batio. But but yeah, I mean so
- 18:34Speaker 6: j c Elliott is my best friend in real life,
- 18:37Speaker 6: and we played best friends obviously on the show. So
- 18:39Speaker 6: her and I there's there's going to be We're not
- 18:42Speaker 6: going to miss a beat. Camilla, I'm obviously going to
- 18:45Speaker 6: keep in contact with. We have such like a good bond.
- 18:48Speaker 6: And then all these new interns too. We hang out
- 18:49Speaker 6: all the time. So yeah, Alexis, Floyd and I are
- 18:53Speaker 6: really really close. So I think I think these relationships
- 18:56Speaker 6: are going to go on past and then you know,
- 18:58Speaker 6: hopefully we'll see Leavy back.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, did you I'm trying to remember, but it's been
- 19:03Speaker 2: so many seasons. Was Leva the first gay man that
- 19:06Speaker 2: they showed their storyline?
- 19:08Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 19:08Speaker 2: And what season was that that this show?
- 19:10Speaker 6: So season fifteen is when we find out that he's queer,
- 19:13Speaker 6: and when they started.
- 19:16Speaker 2: That is so crazy because we have Kelly in Arizona.
- 19:19Speaker 2: But then it took it took Calsna.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Thank you, Yeah, get it right.
- 19:25Speaker 2: But you're such an iconic role for you to I mean,
- 19:29Speaker 2: to have that, to be that representation for people.
- 19:32Speaker 9: Yeah, it's been wild.
- 19:33Speaker 6: And then being queer personally too, it's been so rewarding
- 19:37Speaker 6: to get to step into the queer community in that
- 19:39Speaker 6: way and to be able to talk to so many
- 19:42Speaker 6: queer people and share the experience with them. It's been wonderful.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Were you excited when Jac's character Helm Hell, when she
- 19:53Speaker 2: came out it's queer, It was queer on the show.
- 19:55Speaker 6: Yeah, it was funny and she was like we always
- 19:57Speaker 6: knew she was obsessed with Meredith been getting I thought
- 20:00Speaker 6: it might just be like a you know, like a
- 20:02Speaker 6: school girl. She was in love.
- 20:05Speaker 9: She might still be.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I love that.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I love that your best friends.
- 20:10Speaker 6: I keep pitching that we do some like big gay
- 20:12Speaker 6: episode where we go to Capitol Hill, which is like
- 20:15Speaker 6: a queer neighborhood in Seattle, and but they keep turning
- 20:18Speaker 6: it down. I think they don't want to build another bar.
- 20:20Speaker 6: They're like, we'll just do it a jos. I'm like,
- 20:22Speaker 6: come on, build a bar, Build the bar.
- 20:25Speaker 9: Build the gay bar.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Been twenty one season or twenty seasons?
- 20:30Speaker 3: Build the bar? What's next for you?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Like, what are you even looking forward to?
- 20:35Speaker 6: You know what I've been doing. Missus Debbie Allen Catherine
- 20:39Speaker 6: fox right. She's also our producing director, so she chooses
- 20:41Speaker 6: all the directors. She's we know, she's like a great teacher,
- 20:44Speaker 6: dance teacher, all this stuff. She has her school. I've
- 20:46Speaker 6: been shadowing her as a director. So I just got
- 20:49Speaker 6: off an episode shadowing her. I've done it twice. I
- 20:52Speaker 6: shouted some of the other directors.
- 20:54Speaker 3: So do you just ask them? Can I shadow you?
- 20:56Speaker 3: And they're like yeah, sure.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it's you know a little bit more diffic,
- 21:01Speaker 6: but yeah, essentially Debbie. Essentially, essentially, it's a conversation with
- 21:07Speaker 6: Debbie and then she decides whether or not she thinks
- 21:09Speaker 6: you're a good candidate for it.
- 21:11Speaker 9: And there's a whole.
- 21:12Speaker 6: List of like people that want to people waiting, but
- 21:15Speaker 6: I think, you know, obviously being an actor on the show,
- 21:17Speaker 6: you have a little bit more of an inh but
- 21:20Speaker 6: but yeah, so so it was a conversation with her,
- 21:22Speaker 6: and she's been incredible and so generous with her knowledge,
- 21:26Speaker 6: and so that is one big next step for me
- 21:30Speaker 6: is moving into the directing. I'm going to be doing
- 21:31Speaker 6: a short this January, and hopefully I could come back
- 21:36Speaker 6: at some point and direct an episode of Graze.
- 21:38Speaker 2: That would be so cool. I love that they do
- 21:40Speaker 2: that because I feel like a lot of the actors
- 21:44Speaker 2: get a chance to be behind the camera.
- 21:47Speaker 6: There's a lot Kevin McKidd, Jesse Williams, Chandra Wilson, a
- 21:51Speaker 6: lot of people have Yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 2: It's so cool.
- 21:53Speaker 9: Is it?
- 21:53Speaker 2: Like people get the bug and they're like, I want to.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I want to I want to be the one in
- 21:57Speaker 2: control back. I fare so.
- 21:58Speaker 6: And also, I mean, the show's on for so long,
- 22:01Speaker 6: there's so many episodes, so for like an outside director
- 22:03Speaker 6: coming in, there's so much like onboarding that you would
- 22:06Speaker 6: have to do to get into the show, where like
- 22:09Speaker 6: we've been there the whole time, and so we know
- 22:11Speaker 6: everything that's happened, we know all the storylines, we know
- 22:14Speaker 6: the actors personally, so I think there's a little bit
- 22:16Speaker 6: of an advantage there as well.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Do you ever have like I was just thinking about this,
- 22:21Speaker 2: I could never be an actress because I feel like
- 22:23Speaker 2: I would be concerned about what the where the angle
- 22:27Speaker 2: was hitting me.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, that would be That would Does anyone
- 22:32Speaker 5: ever think about that when.
- 22:33Speaker 6: It's like definitely and there's like you you you know
- 22:36Speaker 6: where the cameras are so that you can sort of
- 22:38Speaker 6: cheat to them or cheat away from them depending on
- 22:40Speaker 6: what the scene is, and you know, it's definitely important.
- 22:43Speaker 6: I think when I'm acting, I try to turn that
- 22:46Speaker 6: director brain off then and I try to just be
- 22:48Speaker 6: in the scene and let them, let them capture what
- 22:51Speaker 6: they capture, you know what I mean, and try to
- 22:52Speaker 6: just like like unFocus my eyes to whatever is in
- 22:56Speaker 6: the background, because usually it's just like a dude in
- 22:58Speaker 6: the crew like eating a doughnut or whatever. It's like,
- 23:00Speaker 6: it's not just the cameras, it's like fifty people just
- 23:03Speaker 6: like waiting for them, just.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Picturing Tony and I as extras, because you know, that
- 23:11Speaker 2: was our thing. We were like trying to.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Be knocking down that door. Just Debbie, did.
- 23:15Speaker 9: You ever get on.
- 23:18Speaker 2: We did on set, like right before the pandemic. One
- 23:22Speaker 2: of our listeners worked on on the lott Yeah, she
- 23:26Speaker 2: got us a tour and we wore scrubs. Everyone. They
- 23:28Speaker 2: were like, are you all extras were like, no, we can't.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Guest stars come in like you can play sisters like
- 23:36Speaker 6: something horrible.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Podcast host yea, you know it's like something tragic happened
- 23:41Speaker 3: during the middle of the episode.
- 23:42Speaker 2: And the microphone, Yeah, that's very grace and.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Yeah, the mic goes through both of our stomachs.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, well I was just thinking Tony and
- 23:56Speaker 2: I would be like looking at the camera.
- 24:03Speaker 6: We do we do sometimes honestly, there's like huge lighting
- 24:07Speaker 6: setups that they can only do for like certain scenes,
- 24:10Speaker 6: and obviously the more light the better people look. So
- 24:12Speaker 6: sometimes people will like try to cheat into that really
- 24:16Speaker 6: good light setup so that they look good.
- 24:19Speaker 2: They like extra in the corner when we were We
- 24:26Speaker 2: talked to Jessica and Camilla last night and they were
- 24:29Speaker 2: talking about the intimacy coordinators. Oh yeah, so have they
- 24:33Speaker 2: been there since you.
- 24:35Speaker 6: Know, so I meant intimacy coordinators. I think I've been
- 24:39Speaker 6: around for a while, but they're they're just now within
- 24:42Speaker 6: the last like maybe four or five years really really
- 24:45Speaker 6: getting integrated into the film world. So I would say
- 24:49Speaker 6: probably like halfway through Levi's relationship with Nico, we started
- 24:53Speaker 6: getting intimacy coordinators. But yeah, they're very they're very helpful.
- 24:57Speaker 2: It's just hard because it's like you don't know how
- 24:59Speaker 2: you like, when you're kissing someone in real life, you're
- 25:02Speaker 2: not thinking about how it looks right.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Right, But like how detailed do they get?
- 25:06Speaker 6: Like I mean, some of them will get really detailed.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Other ones are kind of just like, hey, I have
- 25:11Speaker 6: mints if you need them. So it's like sort of
- 25:13Speaker 6: you get the whole gamut. And it's really based on
- 25:15Speaker 6: I think the actors comfortability. So if they know, like, oh,
- 25:18Speaker 6: these these two guys are comfortable, like I'll just be
- 25:20Speaker 6: like the mint person. But if it's if it's you know,
- 25:23Speaker 6: they're a more intense scene, then they'll be right there
- 25:26Speaker 6: in rehearsal, like right by the camera watching everything and
- 25:29Speaker 6: who yeah and yeah, putting their input. It's it's also
- 25:32Speaker 6: they're really good like liaison between the actors and the
- 25:34Speaker 6: directors too, so that no one feels.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Right being like that doesn't look good. Like if they
- 25:39Speaker 2: can be like that doesn't look great or whatever. Yea,
- 25:42Speaker 2: in real life? Are you in a relationship?
- 25:45Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Are you on the apps?
- 25:49Speaker 6: I'm not on the apps. I've recently got out of
- 25:51Speaker 6: like a really lovely, nice, sort of long relationship and
- 25:54Speaker 6: we're sharing our dog and we're we're still very close,
- 25:58Speaker 6: and so I think we're just I'm sitting in that
- 26:00Speaker 6: g right, Yeah, because dog. It's great. We love our dog.
- 26:04Speaker 6: He's so cute.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Like what's how's the sharing?
- 26:07Speaker 6: It's we just we share him back and forth and.
- 26:09Speaker 3: We just one day, one day or.
- 26:11Speaker 6: Like we don't really have like a full schedule. Yeah,
- 26:14Speaker 6: it's a lot of times like if he's working, I'll
- 26:15Speaker 6: take the dog. If I'm working, we'll take the dog.
- 26:17Speaker 6: Like I'm we're in Chicago right now, so he you know,
- 26:19Speaker 6: shadows with him and yeah, it's just.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Have like a amicable situation.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Yeah, but the both love him so much. He's so handsome.
- 26:31Speaker 6: He's a German shepherd. He's a German shepherd.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Have you heard of them?
- 26:35Speaker 6: They're like they're they're like the normal German shepherd coloring,
- 26:37Speaker 6: but then they have like very white cheeks and beautiful
- 26:40Speaker 6: like black eyeliner and like white white gloves.
- 26:43Speaker 2: And you feel very protected having him because I have
- 26:47Speaker 2: a Pomeranian.
- 26:48Speaker 6: It's a little different. He looks terrifying, but we like
- 26:53Speaker 6: sleep together.
- 26:54Speaker 7: He's very sweet.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Well, I cannot wait to see what you do next.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I'm like so sad that you're leaving. It's like the
- 27:05Speaker 2: whole Gray's way is that you can't get too attached
- 27:08Speaker 2: to anyone.
- 27:09Speaker 6: Because yeah, as an actor, you can't get too comfortable,
- 27:12Speaker 6: which is but I know, yeah, let's start a campaign
- 27:15Speaker 6: save Schmidt.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, petition.
- 27:18Speaker 6: I was filming the other day and I was covered
- 27:20Speaker 6: in blood. I'm not going to tell you why savely Schmidt.
- 27:25Speaker 2: You heard it here, okay, But before you go, if
- 27:28Speaker 2: there was if you, I don't want you to die,
- 27:31Speaker 2: but if you died, or if you died or had
- 27:35Speaker 2: a near death experience, if LEVI died or had a
- 27:37Speaker 2: near death experience. I think we asked you this last time,
- 27:40Speaker 2: what would you if you got to choose it, would
- 27:42Speaker 2: you want it to be like a classics.
- 27:45Speaker 6: Like a long, slow death.
- 27:48Speaker 9: For a couple of seasons, like.
- 27:53Speaker 7: Not not coma.
- 27:54Speaker 6: I want I want to have some lines, you know
- 27:56Speaker 6: what I mean, Like, yeah, something really long, maybe old eight.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Oh wow, yeah, yeah, maybe it jumps.
- 28:03Speaker 6: Yes, it just jumps fifty years. We probably don't even
- 28:07Speaker 6: need a jump. But show will probably still be on
- 28:09Speaker 6: in fifty years. Zola will be like Jeeps at the hospital.
- 28:13Speaker 6: She'll be like believe I will be dying of old age.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, sign the petition to keep Leevi till old age. Yes, yeah, well,
- 28:21Speaker 2: thank you for here. Have much fun at the epic
- 28:24Speaker 2: con and toxic.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Oh my talk to Trae. Is I love sleeping in
- 28:30Speaker 6: so like I Honestly, when I was younger, I used
- 28:33Speaker 6: to have dream days where I would set on alarm
- 28:35Speaker 6: every fifteen minutes for not even joking, like five hours,
- 28:38Speaker 6: and I would wake up every fifteen minutes so that
- 28:40Speaker 6: I could like get my dream going. And so I
- 28:43Speaker 6: still love sleeping in on like days I'm not working,
- 28:46Speaker 6: I will be in bed like we're not hanging out.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Does that not interrupt the.
- 28:52Speaker 6: That's exactly what it does. It interrupts them citle, So
- 28:54Speaker 6: then you can you can remember your dreams.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Then aren't you more tired?
- 28:58Speaker 9: Yeah, but it's so fun. It's toxic.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I did that too. I literally used to set my
- 29:06Speaker 2: alarm I'd have to be up at seven. I'd set
- 29:07Speaker 2: it for four, so I was like, I have three
- 29:09Speaker 2: hours with just weird weird.
- 29:13Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 5: I did that mind to the minute, like it's literally
- 29:16Speaker 5: like the minute I have to wake up, like forty seven, Like.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Whatever, No, same, I'm with you. I love sleep, We
- 29:23Speaker 2: love you so much. Thank you for taking time. This
- 29:25Speaker 2: so good to see you. All right, everybody, we have
- 29:42Speaker 2: Skylar asked and Scrubby.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Yeah, welcome to the war baby, happy to be here.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Have you.
- 29:52Speaker 2: We were with Jessica Capshaw andk Mill Luddington last night
- 29:55Speaker 2: and they speak so highly of you. Oh.
- 29:57Speaker 9: I love them so very much. They're the best. I
- 30:00Speaker 9: did their podcast too, and we just like it was
- 30:02Speaker 9: one of those things where I was like, is this
- 30:03Speaker 9: now a three person podcast and we're about to do
- 30:05Speaker 9: this every week? Oh yeah, they're the best.
- 30:07Speaker 7: I love that.
- 30:07Speaker 2: It's so fun when you go on another podcast and
- 30:09Speaker 2: you have chemistry at the house and you're like, I
- 30:11Speaker 2: can do this.
- 30:11Speaker 9: A third totally. Well. We were doing a lot of
- 30:14Speaker 9: like fan questions too, and I was giving these like
- 30:17Speaker 9: male perspectives on things, but it wasn't just like growie
- 30:20Speaker 9: male perspectives. So she was like, wait, we kind of
- 30:23Speaker 9: need to have you around because this is super helpful
- 30:26Speaker 9: because I like to give like the unconventional kind of
- 30:28Speaker 9: answers and not just like.
- 30:30Speaker 3: We love it.
- 30:31Speaker 9: Do you have a couple of those relationship advice.
- 30:35Speaker 5: It's funny because we do these things called the mantle,
- 30:38Speaker 5: and so it's like a man panel, right, and uh,
- 30:43Speaker 5: you are solo today. You know, there's no man panels.
- 30:46Speaker 5: You're it's a solo man.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Man, you're the man the mantle.
- 30:51Speaker 5: But it's true because I think a lot of our
- 30:53Speaker 5: listeners are scrubbers, are either dating, trying to find somebody,
- 30:57Speaker 5: or newly. I feel like they're like newly in the.
- 31:00Speaker 2: First seasons like iss, dating married and get all of it. Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 2: so I we always like to get advice because people,
- 31:08Speaker 2: you know, FLEs perspective, a male's perspective.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Perspective between the two of us, it's one with a woman.
- 31:15Speaker 2: But I know that's really eliminated the need of male advice.
- 31:18Speaker 9: Right, you could talk about dating a woman though, oh yeah,
- 31:21Speaker 9: and we do, we do.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, But I am curious advice in terms of
- 31:28Speaker 2: it being in the industry that you're in and having
- 31:31Speaker 2: a lot of women and female attention, what is it
- 31:35Speaker 2: that you've done differently in your dating life that's just
- 31:38Speaker 2: been you know that you would give advice to, or
- 31:41Speaker 2: something that you did that you would not recommend and
- 31:43Speaker 2: have changed.
- 31:44Speaker 9: I just feel like, in general, I try to always
- 31:46Speaker 9: never approach it from like, well, now that I'm in
- 31:48Speaker 9: the industry or now that I'm a public figure. I
- 31:50Speaker 9: try to just like cut to the core of it
- 31:52Speaker 9: and just think about like how I was raised, how
- 31:54Speaker 9: like my mother taught me to treat people and how
- 31:58Speaker 9: to be treated. And you know, I've made some mistakes.
- 32:01Speaker 9: I mean, for sure, like I've been in situations where
- 32:04Speaker 9: I've given too much of the benefit of the doubt
- 32:06Speaker 9: at times, and I've even gotten in situations where you
- 32:10Speaker 9: stay in something a bit too long. But I feel
- 32:14Speaker 9: like I'm also good at giving others advice because it's
- 32:17Speaker 9: sometimes hardest to take the advice that you would give yourselves.
- 32:20Speaker 9: I've definitely like been in therapy in my life, being
- 32:22Speaker 9: like and I know if my friend was going through this,
- 32:25Speaker 9: what I would say, but for some reason it feels
- 32:28Speaker 9: different or for some reason to do this for myself,
- 32:31Speaker 9: which is true an interesting thing, So I feel like
- 32:34Speaker 9: it would be an interesting practice easier said than done
- 32:37Speaker 9: to kind of give yourself advice the way you would
- 32:40Speaker 9: give your best friend advice.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Yeah, do you think that that's a tailtale sign of
- 32:44Speaker 5: a good guy if he has a good relationship with
- 32:45Speaker 5: his mom.
- 32:47Speaker 9: As someone who's mom's boy, I would say yes. I
- 32:50Speaker 9: also would say that, you know, I think it's also
- 32:52Speaker 9: a bit of a red flag when the partner has
- 32:54Speaker 9: an issue with that too, because I think that people
- 32:57Speaker 9: can you know, if anyone's ever trying to take you
- 33:00Speaker 9: from your family, unless if they are a toxic family
- 33:02Speaker 9: and they're doing it for the you know, but that's
- 33:04Speaker 9: not the case in my situation. So I feel like
- 33:07Speaker 9: that's that's not a trait that you should go for
- 33:09Speaker 9: if you find yourself kind of losing a bit of
- 33:11Speaker 9: yourself or losing other relationships in your life. You know,
- 33:15Speaker 9: relationships should be additive and it should only you know, improve,
- 33:19Speaker 9: And sure there's like different dynamics when there's families involved,
- 33:23Speaker 9: of course, but like I think, you know, in general,
- 33:26Speaker 9: that should be something that should be appreciated by the spouse.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Yeah, appreciated and celebrated totally. Yeah, switching gears because last
- 33:34Speaker 2: time we talked to Camilla about when you were on
- 33:37Speaker 2: Gray's Anatomy, and I saw a clip of y'all of
- 33:39Speaker 2: the podcast you did with them, where you were talking
- 33:41Speaker 2: about how how she thought that you were going to
- 33:44Speaker 2: be Joe's person endgame.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Honestly, why not?
- 33:50Speaker 9: Well, it's like the boring answer is the fact that
- 33:53Speaker 9: I had booked a pilot, and so the gracious writers
- 33:57Speaker 9: of Grey's Anatomy were like, we can't have you be
- 34:00Speaker 9: in two places at once, and so they kind of
- 34:02Speaker 9: like unceremoniously wrote me off in a way that was
- 34:05Speaker 9: just not what we were building towards as actors. Whether
- 34:10Speaker 9: the writers were like no, dude, you were always a
- 34:12Speaker 9: bit temporary, Like I don't know if they thought we
- 34:14Speaker 9: were endgame, but they were definitely writing towards love Camilla
- 34:19Speaker 9: and I were certainly playing that.
- 34:21Speaker 5: Yeah, so when you got that, when you got the
- 34:23Speaker 5: role in Grays, you didn't have so helped me Todd
- 34:25Speaker 5: yet No, no.
- 34:26Speaker 9: But I was playing a character named Todd on Grays.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Ironically, Yeah, that is manifest.
- 34:31Speaker 9: It's or just it's in my contract now I happen
- 34:34Speaker 9: to be named Yes, I maybe I did manifest actually,
- 34:38Speaker 9: but we were Yeah, it was just this typical like
- 34:40Speaker 9: beet cute, you know kind of scenes where I was
- 34:42Speaker 9: playing the brother of a patient and then our characters
- 34:46Speaker 9: kind of hit it off. And then I think Camilla
- 34:48Speaker 9: was also loving it too and telling the writers like
- 34:51Speaker 9: because I think she's just had a lot of these
- 34:53Speaker 9: like tumultuous torture relationships on the show, and she's liked,
- 34:56Speaker 9: please keep him. This is just so nice to play.
- 34:59Speaker 9: It's so earnest, it's sweet. Like there will be conflict
- 35:02Speaker 9: down the line, I'm sure, but but he's so solid
- 35:05Speaker 9: and I loved playing that character. And then yeah, just
- 35:09Speaker 9: once I booked that show, it was like the next
- 35:12Speaker 9: script was, well, I was supposed to do like a
- 35:14Speaker 9: couple a few more, and then it turned into like
- 35:16Speaker 9: two more, and then it turned into like one and
- 35:17Speaker 9: a half, and then it turned into like here's the episode.
- 35:20Speaker 2: You're like, you guys, don't have to cut it that short.
- 35:22Speaker 9: He could have been cut literally. I was like, I'm
- 35:24Speaker 9: not leaving for another couple of months. But yeah, he
- 35:26Speaker 9: became a stage five clinger, Like he became this guy
- 35:31Speaker 9: that while he was like so supportive and so the
- 35:33Speaker 9: greatest boyfriend, he then was becoming just like get him
- 35:36Speaker 9: away from me. So it was like sad too, because
- 35:41Speaker 9: you know now, like Soame Toad isn't happening anymore, and
- 35:44Speaker 9: so we could totally rekindle it, and I think Milla
- 35:47Speaker 9: wants that. I would love that too, But thankfully they
- 35:50Speaker 9: didn't make him so horrible, Like he's not a.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Murder right right.
- 35:57Speaker 9: Right, Maybe he has a side of that story that
- 35:59Speaker 9: we can and learn about in later episodes, well right
- 36:03Speaker 9: our way around.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I'm curious though, So if you're on a show like
- 36:06Speaker 2: that and there's you're like, there's potential where I could
- 36:08Speaker 2: become a series regular, because that happens Jessica and Camilla
- 36:11Speaker 2: were both guest stars and then became series regulars. And
- 36:15Speaker 2: then you get an offer for a pilot? Is there
- 36:17Speaker 2: are you having to make that decision of like do
- 36:19Speaker 2: I see if this goes somewhere or do I just
- 36:22Speaker 2: take something that's for sure.
- 36:24Speaker 9: I like to take something that's for sure, although a
- 36:26Speaker 9: pilot isn't for sure either, So I think that was
- 36:29Speaker 9: the whole thing, is like, let me do this pilot.
- 36:31Speaker 9: If it gets picked up, then I'll do this show
- 36:33Speaker 9: if not. Also, there wasn't, to be clear, there wasn't
- 36:36Speaker 9: like an offer on the table for grades it just
- 36:38Speaker 9: was going very well. Yeah, and they kept adding the
- 36:40Speaker 9: number of episodes that I was doing, so it was
- 36:43Speaker 9: and I was having so much fun. The cast is amazing,
- 36:46Speaker 9: The crew there is so incredible and warm and dialed in,
- 36:49Speaker 9: and they shoot it in Silver Lake, which is the
- 36:52Speaker 9: place I love is. I never get to shoot things
- 36:54Speaker 9: in La so I said, this is the best gig ever.
- 36:57Speaker 9: And yeah, just the people were so lovely, so I
- 37:00Speaker 9: I was totally open to doing it as much as
- 37:02Speaker 9: they'd have me and still still kind of am so late.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I love it all.
- 37:07Speaker 2: We're talking about these past days or petitions, Yeah, okay,
- 37:11Speaker 2: bringing people back, bring shows back, or all petitions.
- 37:15Speaker 9: There are a lot of petitions. There's a lot of
- 37:17Speaker 9: folks here at Epicon that were actually talking about bringing
- 37:20Speaker 9: so help Me Todd back. There were tons of entries
- 37:23Speaker 9: and petitions and things like that, and sometimes they work,
- 37:25Speaker 9: but in our case, the show just couldn't be saved
- 37:29Speaker 9: for a bunch of reasons. Yeah, we're so above all
- 37:31Speaker 9: of the petition's heads.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Unfortunately, when you do events like this is pitch perfect
- 37:36Speaker 2: where people I got to.
- 37:38Speaker 9: Say, today has been really split. It's been really nice too,
- 37:41Speaker 9: because I expect pitch perfect. It's like a huge, you know, franchise,
- 37:45Speaker 9: and I love it, and it's definitely the gift that
- 37:48Speaker 9: keeps on giving. But I always appreciate like the deeper
- 37:51Speaker 9: cuts or or people love the show I was on
- 37:54Speaker 9: called It's always Extraordinary playlist and so helped me Todd
- 37:57Speaker 9: and now Gray's Anatomy since there's a lot of Grays.
- 38:00Speaker 9: How people here some of my theater stuff, so it
- 38:03Speaker 9: is kind of nice. And people had some like shirts
- 38:04Speaker 9: of shows that I've done, or like shirts that they
- 38:07Speaker 9: made of which was kind of sweet. So yeah, I
- 38:10Speaker 9: know the people here are really sweet and warm. But yeah,
- 38:13Speaker 9: i'd say the majority is always pitch perfect.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say that too. That's we were saying,
- 38:18Speaker 2: how when people.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Develop, it's the first time they see you.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they fall in love. They Yeah, So that's that's
- 38:26Speaker 2: always their special place.
- 38:27Speaker 9: You be Jesse in their hearts, which is fine. There's
- 38:30Speaker 9: a lot of worse things than people. I could be
- 38:32Speaker 9: so grateful for it.
- 38:34Speaker 2: What's your favorite medium? Do you movies? TV? Shows? Do
- 38:38Speaker 2: you you do Broadway?
- 38:39Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 38:40Speaker 2: I saw you were and I saw you just recently
- 38:43Speaker 2: did a show or performance with Ben Platt.
- 38:45Speaker 9: We love he's bested. Yeah, he's a Broadway boy just
- 38:50Speaker 9: like I am. We actually met before Pitch Perfect doing
- 38:52Speaker 9: like a workshop of a of like a Broadway kind
- 38:55Speaker 9: of thing, So that's kind of how we know each
- 38:57Speaker 9: other as total theater boys. I don't know which one
- 39:01Speaker 9: I love more because they all inform the other. For
- 39:05Speaker 9: me now, so much like my bread and butter was
- 39:09Speaker 9: always Broadway. That's all I thought I would ever do.
- 39:12Speaker 9: And then once I kind of stepped over into TV
- 39:14Speaker 9: and film, I kind of fell in love with that
- 39:17Speaker 9: in a different way. And it's different challenges that it
- 39:19Speaker 9: presents and different rewards that it presents. It's a different
- 39:23Speaker 9: kind of grind than theater, and I can't say one's harder, though.
- 39:29Speaker 9: I feel like if you'd never done TV, and if
- 39:32Speaker 9: you've never done theater and you've only done TV and film,
- 39:34Speaker 9: it's a little bit harder to just now take that
- 39:37Speaker 9: to an audience, do it without any cuts from start
- 39:40Speaker 9: to finish, knowing what that's like, how to kind of
- 39:43Speaker 9: cover on the spot in that live aspect of it is.
- 39:46Speaker 7: It could be.
- 39:46Speaker 9: Tricky if you'd never done that, But coming the way
- 39:50Speaker 9: that I did from theater to film, it was it
- 39:51Speaker 9: was not that bad of an adjustment because I had
- 39:55Speaker 9: the luxury of being able to do it more than once.
- 39:57Speaker 9: And I also then liked the idea of putting the
- 40:00Speaker 9: huzzle together kind of like you start in the middle
- 40:02Speaker 9: and then you do scenes kind of all around. And yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 9: it's a it's been a learning experience. But every time
- 40:06Speaker 9: I do one, I'm itching to do the other. So
- 40:09Speaker 9: something like I just did TV, I want to do
- 40:11Speaker 9: like something on stage. I missed that and so yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 9: I couldn't part with either.
- 40:16Speaker 3: No multi hyphen it.
- 40:17Speaker 9: I'm a multi hiphene.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Yeah, as you should be when you.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Do TV shows or movies. Are you like, are do
- 40:23Speaker 2: you feel like you're drawn to characters who have a
- 40:26Speaker 2: singing element?
- 40:27Speaker 9: I feel like I am written towards that a lot.
- 40:31Speaker 9: Like I feel like there's been a lot of situations
- 40:33Speaker 9: where I have not The character that I signed up
- 40:36Speaker 9: to play was not a singer, And then in the
- 40:39Speaker 9: next draft of the script, I'm like, why does he
- 40:41Speaker 9: have an a cappella group on the side that we've
- 40:43Speaker 9: never discussed previously.
- 40:45Speaker 5: We should what we should do is we should have
- 40:46Speaker 5: them do another Grays musical episode.
- 40:50Speaker 3: And yeah, I know, thank you so much.
- 40:54Speaker 9: Agree with that, so I know, right, I talked to
- 40:57Speaker 9: her actually about that. I was so so I would
- 41:00Speaker 9: so do that. I always like to me, I like
- 41:03Speaker 9: to do what I sign up for, no matter what
- 41:05Speaker 9: that is. So generally when I sign up to do
- 41:07Speaker 9: a musical, I'm like, let's do all the songs, let's
- 41:09Speaker 9: let's dance our butts off. But sometimes when it's like, hey,
- 41:12Speaker 9: this wasn't here, now it's here, what's that Like, That's
- 41:15Speaker 9: not how this works? So because because I do, Because
- 41:18Speaker 9: I think one of the better parts about for me,
- 41:21Speaker 9: like as an actor, doing my last role on So
- 41:24Speaker 9: Help Me Todd, was that I got to show people
- 41:26Speaker 9: that I can do comedy and like do all sorts
- 41:28Speaker 9: of stuff and not have to sing. Cool if Todd sang,
- 41:31Speaker 9: but I don't think that that's what that character would do.
- 41:34Speaker 9: So it was nice to not have to do that.
- 41:36Speaker 9: Yah or else. People are like, you're useless if you're
- 41:38Speaker 9: not singing, and I don't. I don't think I'm fully
- 41:40Speaker 9: useless without singing.
- 41:41Speaker 2: No, you have many other talents before you go, yes,
- 41:45Speaker 2: what is your toxic trait? But it's not that it's not.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Funny.
- 41:55Speaker 9: I like, don't close cabinets.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Oh, goody, I am marrying a man like you, and
- 42:03Speaker 5: I don't understand it.
- 42:05Speaker 3: It's just one more inch forward.
- 42:07Speaker 9: Can I help improve your marriage potentially?
- 42:10Speaker 2: Yes?
- 42:10Speaker 9: Okay, here's why he might be doing it. Here's my
- 42:13Speaker 9: neurotic way of why I do it. I'll take something
- 42:16Speaker 9: out and in my head, I'm like, I need something
- 42:20Speaker 9: else from there, just not right now. So then I
- 42:22Speaker 9: will continue to do it, and then eventually it just
- 42:25Speaker 9: kind of stays open. I don't know if that helps
- 42:27Speaker 9: or not, but it comes from a good place. I
- 42:29Speaker 9: am telling you. There's this like I don't leave a
- 42:32Speaker 9: fridge open because that's that's that's another issue. Now you've
- 42:36Speaker 9: spoiled all of our food for our family. But no,
- 42:39Speaker 9: there's that cabinet feeling of like I don't I don't
- 42:42Speaker 9: know why that is, but I know where I'm coming from.
- 42:46Speaker 9: And when I say it out on a podcast, it
- 42:49Speaker 9: doesn't make sense. But I don't think it helps your
- 42:52Speaker 9: marriage or myself. But I'm telling you that's where it
- 42:55Speaker 9: comes from and and and that's that's at least why
- 42:58Speaker 9: I do it.
- 42:58Speaker 2: There's your relationship from the man doesn't mean to my more,
- 43:03Speaker 2: nut Meg, I'm so sorry. That's okay, so great talking here.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Thank you for stopping by.
- 43:11Speaker 9: My pleasure.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Everybody, well, please welcome back Jason dra Yeah. Wow, that
- 43:37Speaker 2: was exciting. The fans were like crazy for y'all out there.
- 43:40Speaker 7: They are no joke, it was.
- 43:42Speaker 1: It was funny because I didn't you know, y know
- 43:44Speaker 1: that that phrase that you know, the catchphrase nineteen Yeah,
- 43:47Speaker 1: like we everybody thought it was not going to be
- 43:49Speaker 1: this weird, corny thing, and like the first time we
- 43:51Speaker 1: did it on the show, I had to find a
- 43:52Speaker 1: way to do it that made it not feel like
- 43:55Speaker 1: and now we're going to come up with a rallying cry,
- 43:57Speaker 1: you know. And then it turned into the rallying cry.
- 43:59Speaker 1: And like when you get a crowd like that in
- 44:01Speaker 1: that room and you say it, they all yell it back.
- 44:05Speaker 1: It became a cool thing when you got care on
- 44:06Speaker 1: said it was like the twelve of us, Yeah, we
- 44:08Speaker 1: yell it, and that feels like, yeah, we're gonna go
- 44:09Speaker 1: fight a fire team, you know. Yeah, But when like
- 44:12Speaker 1: you know, a few hundred people yelling at.
- 44:14Speaker 7: You, that's kind of dope. It's crazy, it's kind of cool.
- 44:16Speaker 3: It's cool.
- 44:17Speaker 2: We've talked about this so much, we've been here.
- 44:20Speaker 3: We love you so much.
- 44:21Speaker 2: But also you were my first you're the first ever
- 44:23Speaker 2: scrubbing in.
- 44:24Speaker 3: I even came into the picture.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Yeah, before Tanya, there was Jason.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Ye.
- 44:32Speaker 7: Nobody asked me to co host the show. So I'm
- 44:34Speaker 7: just saying, oh.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Wow, you've been pretty busy. I think you'd be hard
- 44:39Speaker 2: to get into the.
- 44:39Speaker 9: Studio another job.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm all, hey, we have a spin off of
- 44:43Speaker 2: Gray's Anatomy. You want to be a part, It's only audio.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Just would you have a great voice?
- 44:50Speaker 7: Well? Thank you? Yeah, this is what this is about. Normal.
- 44:54Speaker 1: This morning, it was like even worse because I want
- 44:56Speaker 1: to sleep. At like three o'clock. Last night we were
- 44:58Speaker 1: watching the Fight.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say anything else are you
- 45:06Speaker 2: when you come to things? Because you are. You have
- 45:09Speaker 2: such a special place in our hearts as not only
- 45:12Speaker 2: Gray's Anatomy, but all the Station nineteen fans like you're
- 45:15Speaker 2: such a like a legend on.
- 45:17Speaker 3: This like a Shondaland Darling.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 7: I will take it. I will take it. Yeah, And
- 45:23Speaker 7: I get that.
- 45:23Speaker 1: And it's like, but you know who's really got that
- 45:25Speaker 1: mantle now? Katie Low's Scandal. Yeah, she did another series
- 45:32Speaker 1: for she did Inventing Anna that's right. So like we
- 45:36Speaker 1: joke about, like I was like, I think you're Shonda's
- 45:38Speaker 1: favored now.
- 45:39Speaker 2: No, once you you got once you get a streaming
- 45:42Speaker 2: one of her Netflix shows, one of Shonda's Netflix shows,
- 45:45Speaker 2: you get a Sash. We're getting you, ah darling, Sash
- 45:48Speaker 2: the Ambassador.
- 45:49Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm trying to look. Hey, I want
- 45:51Speaker 7: to show up on Bridgerton.
- 45:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 45:54Speaker 2: But when when Station nineteen, when y'all found out it
- 45:57Speaker 2: was gonna be the last season, did you know that
- 46:00Speaker 2: you would be like, well, I'm were you like, I'm
- 46:02Speaker 2: cool because I'm going back to crazy?
- 46:03Speaker 7: No, not at all, not at all.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I actually was like I was like, yo, well this
- 46:06Speaker 1: may be the end of Bend because I was like,
- 46:08Speaker 1: you know, because look, I mean, as you see look,
- 46:10Speaker 1: you know, people die in Shondaland right like below, the
- 46:13Speaker 1: characters can die, and sometimes that creates more story for
- 46:19Speaker 1: the characters to stick around, right, And I was like,
- 46:22Speaker 1: you know, Bailey, you know, with three kids on our own, yaha, YadA, Yeah,
- 46:26Speaker 1: I was. I was like, that's an interesting story. I
- 46:28Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know. So I was like I
- 46:30Speaker 1: didn't I didn't know what to expect.
- 46:31Speaker 7: And I didn't think. I didn't.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I also, at a certain point later in the season,
- 46:34Speaker 1: I thought they're not going to end on that kind
- 46:36Speaker 1: of a sour note kind of thing, so I thought, okay,
- 46:39Speaker 1: so so maybe there's a chance. And then we had
- 46:41Speaker 1: some conversations and then I knew that it'd be happening
- 46:44Speaker 1: in some way fashion.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Did you share with the other casts that were like,
- 46:48Speaker 2: not I'm going to be returnable.
- 46:50Speaker 1: It's weird, right, But no, it was like, you know, uh,
- 46:55Speaker 1: they all kept saying you're going to go back to
- 46:57Speaker 1: Grace and I was like, I don't know that, and
- 46:59Speaker 1: I genuinely was like I don't know. Yeah, and then uh,
- 47:02Speaker 1: and then we started having the conversations and I was like,
- 47:03Speaker 1: I didn't know what's a level it would be. I
- 47:05Speaker 1: was like, you know, you know, Jesse Williams guest stars
- 47:08Speaker 1: once or twice a season. You know, it's like they
- 47:11Speaker 1: might be like, yeah, you can come back every once
- 47:12Speaker 1: in a while, and I'm like, so then I got
- 47:14Speaker 1: to go find a job, you know, brother, brother needs
- 47:17Speaker 1: a suite, regular check. And we got three K, three
- 47:20Speaker 1: kids and the mortgage, and then it just became a
- 47:22Speaker 1: thing where it was clear that like, no, we really
- 47:24Speaker 1: do want you back to be an integral part of this,
- 47:26Speaker 1: which I was psyched for the big for me because
- 47:28Speaker 1: like even more than I love Ben, I love Binley. Yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 1: been ab able to get that relationship for me is
- 47:35Speaker 1: like I love what it represents a television like you know,
- 47:38Speaker 1: a black couple have been together forever, like through thick
- 47:40Speaker 1: and thin, can drive each other crazy. We'll never leave
- 47:43Speaker 1: each other, like you know, they're like, you know you'll
- 47:45Speaker 1: die before not kill you. I won't kill you, but
- 47:47Speaker 1: you'll die before I leave you. You might sleep on
- 47:49Speaker 1: the couch for the next year, but you know we'll work.
- 47:52Speaker 1: We'll work through whatever the problems are. I love representing
- 47:55Speaker 1: that uh in television, And so I was just I
- 47:58Speaker 1: was just happy that like they want to keep that going.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Yeah, me too.
- 48:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like you've been in like the Grey's
- 48:04Speaker 5: Land for how many seasons now?
- 48:06Speaker 1: Well, according to Chandra Wilson, who was like encyclopedic knowledge
- 48:10Speaker 1: of Grace, which really is like scary sometimes like her
- 48:13Speaker 1: and Meg Marinis, the current show runner, they both like
- 48:17Speaker 1: know everything.
- 48:18Speaker 9: This is scary that I love that.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Of Like I really want to see that, like in
- 48:22Speaker 1: fact it at d twenty three there was almost a challenge,
- 48:25Speaker 1: like he was asking her, like, do you know what
- 48:27Speaker 1: when what this person's first line was, this person's first
- 48:30Speaker 1: surgery wasn't Meg generally knew it? That's Soandra knows that
- 48:33Speaker 1: kind of stuff too. Chandra told me that season six
- 48:37Speaker 1: is when Ben showed up. That's crazy to see something
- 48:40Speaker 1: like fifteen years.
- 48:42Speaker 3: Okay, so you've been in that.
- 48:43Speaker 5: You've been in a lot of I'm using the right
- 48:47Speaker 5: word iterations of Gray's cast so much. He loves the
- 48:51Speaker 5: big word. She'll throw all the big word, but we
- 48:55Speaker 5: never know if it's the right right.
- 48:57Speaker 3: I get it right though, I'll use.
- 48:58Speaker 5: It multiple times this episode iterations now yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:02Speaker 5: So since you've seen so many iterations of the cast,
- 49:05Speaker 5: who would you say, is like your best friend on
- 49:09Speaker 5: like from the Grays cast?
- 49:11Speaker 7: Oh? Me Jason or Ben's no you Jason me Jason?
- 49:15Speaker 7: Oh wow, that's oh best friend? That's like?
- 49:18Speaker 2: What do you hang with outside? Oh?
- 49:20Speaker 7: You like McKidd and I will hang out a bit.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Oh we're we're fans, now ya McKidd is.
- 49:26Speaker 7: Here's the best Kevin mckid's story ever.
- 49:30Speaker 1: My car, for whatever reason started acting up, and I
- 49:33Speaker 1: you know, while We're at work and the transport guys.
- 49:35Speaker 1: It was late in the evening. Most of the transport
- 49:36Speaker 1: guys had already left. So I'm like, you know, I'll
- 49:38Speaker 1: just uber Homer whatever. We had a late scene. We're
- 49:40Speaker 1: going late, like, we're gonna wrap probably around like after midnight.
- 49:45Speaker 1: We know that the day was just getting worse because
- 49:46Speaker 1: the surgery, and so keV was like, you know what
- 49:48Speaker 1: I live in We live in the same neighborhood.
- 49:50Speaker 7: We're both in that. You know.
- 49:50Speaker 1: He's like, so I'll give you right home. I was like, cool, man,
- 49:52Speaker 1: I appreciate it. And then the way they're shooting the scene,
- 49:55Speaker 1: keV wrapped around twelve thirty and left, and I was like, cool,
- 49:59Speaker 1: you know, I'll just grab a cab or whatever. I
- 50:01Speaker 1: wrap about two, like an hour and a half later,
- 50:05Speaker 1: I go back to trailers. Kevin McKidd is sitting in
- 50:07Speaker 1: his truck. The man was waiting on me. I was like,
- 50:10Speaker 1: what the hell are you doing here? He said, I
- 50:12Speaker 1: was gonna give you a ride. And I was like,
- 50:14Speaker 1: you may be one of the better people I have
- 50:16Speaker 1: ever met, not just in Hollywood but in this world.
- 50:19Speaker 7: I love kid. But then you've got like Jay Hayden is.
- 50:24Speaker 2: We love We did a panel with him yesterday and
- 50:26Speaker 2: we loved it. We loved it.
- 50:27Speaker 7: Everybody loves them some J Hayden.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Honestly, the dynamic of Station nineteen would have been a very,
- 50:32Speaker 1: very very different place without Jay Hayden. He brings a
- 50:36Speaker 1: level of heart that nobody's ready for because he's making
- 50:38Speaker 1: everybody laugh so much, and then he'll turn around and
- 50:41Speaker 1: like pierce you in the gut with like, you know,
- 50:43Speaker 1: a really heartfelt moment kind of thing, and that's just Jay,
- 50:47Speaker 1: not even you know. And then he brought that on,
- 50:49Speaker 1: you know, to the camera, you know, and so you know, yeah,
- 50:53Speaker 1: I mean everybody in that cast brought something different and
- 50:55Speaker 1: I love him all for different reasons. Boris is you
- 50:58Speaker 1: know my boy. Like we was you know, the uh
- 51:02Speaker 1: you know, the Black Male Leading Man Club. We've known
- 51:06Speaker 1: each other. It's funny because like Shamar is here too,
- 51:07Speaker 1: you know, we've all seen each other and been dancing
- 51:09Speaker 1: around each other and all been up for the same
- 51:11Speaker 1: jobs and that sort of thing and known each other
- 51:12Speaker 1: and been cool. And it's you and you hit a
- 51:14Speaker 1: spot where you realize, if I use my competition, you
- 51:17Speaker 1: make yourself nuts and it's also it's it's it's scarcity mentality,
- 51:22Speaker 1: it's you know, and.
- 51:24Speaker 7: It's not useful.
- 51:25Speaker 1: So you just get cool with everybody and and you're like,
- 51:27Speaker 1: hey man, you see yo yo, who got that thing?
- 51:29Speaker 7: But you know, oh yeah, that's good man. I enjoys that.
- 51:31Speaker 7: Good luck with that.
- 51:33Speaker 1: And then Boris and I finally got to work together
- 51:35Speaker 1: on this, and I was like, I like this brother
- 51:37Speaker 1: so much.
- 51:38Speaker 7: Like we said, we just caught up at the US Open.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Uh we did because you know, he he had went
- 51:43Speaker 1: to college on a tennis scholarship, so I knew that
- 51:46Speaker 1: he would probably be uh yeah. We do a lot
- 51:51Speaker 1: of uh, we do a lot of tip. My wife
- 51:53Speaker 1: was a big tennis fan, has made me a tennis nuts.
- 51:55Speaker 1: So we we go. We've into winledon a few times
- 51:57Speaker 1: and it's, uh, they're they're dope. They're different, very diferent,
- 52:00Speaker 1: Like US Open is like very American, big, big sports,
- 52:03Speaker 1: and it's like it's a blast, it's a party. Wimbledon
- 52:06Speaker 1: is the most civilized thing on the planet. It's like,
- 52:08Speaker 1: you know, super show. But but we were at the
- 52:10Speaker 1: US Open and all of a sudden, I get a
- 52:11Speaker 1: text was down on my phone and it's a photo
- 52:13Speaker 1: of us while we're sitting there, and I started figuring
- 52:17Speaker 1: out angles and I look and I spot Boris looking
- 52:19Speaker 1: up there and he's like spine.
- 52:20Speaker 7: He's like you're looking at you. It was like stalker photo.
- 52:23Speaker 2: You're like, what angle is this? Where is this person sitting?
- 52:26Speaker 7: But like you know, but I mean, but you say
- 52:28Speaker 7: best friend. It's hard because like, you know, no, I respected.
- 52:30Speaker 1: We were our twenty fifth wedding anniversary were in Italy
- 52:33Speaker 1: Baron Das Carlos Boris all caught up with us and
- 52:37Speaker 1: we did a you know, family with my family and
- 52:39Speaker 1: my wife had friends that she's you know, best friend
- 52:41Speaker 1: from like third grade and some other some of our
- 52:44Speaker 1: best friends, like we all met him, had a dinner.
- 52:45Speaker 1: So we had like twenty five people or twenty three
- 52:47Speaker 1: people out of dinner in.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Twenty five year anniversary. Yeah yeah, yeah, tell me about that.
- 52:52Speaker 3: What's the key? I know there's no like one thing,
- 52:56Speaker 3: but like.
- 52:56Speaker 7: How their keys the.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Keys to write the books.
- 53:00Speaker 7: But no, it's not like we have a perfect relationship
- 53:02Speaker 7: in any way.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Nobody is perfect.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Nobody does exactly and it's perfect for us. You know,
- 53:07Speaker 1: you know somebody who matches you're crazy to use that
- 53:08Speaker 1: phrase that everbody uses, but this is the one that
- 53:10Speaker 1: I tell people. I'm the guy who comes with like
- 53:12Speaker 1: the un sexy things that are like the real thing.
- 53:14Speaker 1: You need to know, learn how to fight fair.
- 53:19Speaker 7: People.
- 53:20Speaker 1: When it's you know, when you're going to parties and
- 53:23Speaker 1: when there's interesting things going on and the money's right
- 53:25Speaker 1: and everything like that, everybody has a great time. That's
- 53:28Speaker 1: how you start. Like, you know, we're dating. I'm spending
- 53:30Speaker 1: money on you, you're spending You're buying me gifts, we're
- 53:32Speaker 1: doing anything. You're doing special things for me, I'm doing
- 53:34Speaker 1: special things for you. It's all great. But when it
- 53:37Speaker 1: hits the fan and it gets stressful, and you're gonna argue.
- 53:42Speaker 1: And if you're not arguing, somebody's not being honest, right,
- 53:45Speaker 1: somebody's not being truthful about what's going on in their brain.
- 53:47Speaker 1: You gotta you know, so it's going you're gonna argue
- 53:49Speaker 1: at some point in time.
- 53:50Speaker 7: How do you fight?
- 53:52Speaker 1: Yeah with you people who don't fight fair, who say
- 53:54Speaker 1: something settled and then bring it up a year later, No,
- 53:58Speaker 1: we finished that. Yeah, you don't bring it up if
- 54:00Speaker 1: it's not settled, don't say it settled, like and we'll
- 54:02Speaker 1: actually be like, Okay, we're gonna put a pin in that,
- 54:05Speaker 1: you know what.
- 54:06Speaker 5: So I resonate with that so much because my fiance
- 54:10Speaker 5: and I broke up for a short period of time.
- 54:12Speaker 5: We broke up for like two months, and when we
- 54:15Speaker 5: got back together, I was like asking him like five
- 54:17Speaker 5: thousand questions about what happened when we were broken up
- 54:20Speaker 5: and who did he kiss and what did he do
- 54:21Speaker 5: and da da da da, and but we.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Had already we had already decided we're going to get
- 54:25Speaker 3: back together. We're going to give this another shot.
- 54:27Speaker 5: And he was like, if you And then months we'll
- 54:28Speaker 5: go by and I'd keep asking more questions about who
- 54:31Speaker 5: he saw and who he kissed, and he goes, if
- 54:33Speaker 5: we we've made the decision that, like we are getting
- 54:35Speaker 5: back together, and we talked through all these things.
- 54:38Speaker 3: We have to put that in the past. We can't
- 54:40Speaker 3: keep bringing these things up. And I was like, that's
- 54:42Speaker 3: such a good.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Do you really want to know? Like you think you
- 54:46Speaker 1: want to know, but do you really want Yeah?
- 54:48Speaker 3: I did at the time. I did.
- 54:49Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I wanted to know like every single detail.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to know if you can actually if
- 54:53Speaker 1: you know, can you just handle it? And put it
- 54:55Speaker 1: down right.
- 54:55Speaker 5: But then once you really once you move past that fighter,
- 54:57Speaker 5: and once you move past that whatever that is, it's like, yeah,
- 55:00Speaker 5: you're right, you can't keep calling back.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Well, I forgave you for this, so you need to
- 55:03Speaker 3: forgive me for this. Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 1: And the other thing in that same vein of the
- 55:07Speaker 1: fight fair is I jokingly call it a safe word,
- 55:10Speaker 1: you know, like not that I'm into bedis sim or
- 55:12Speaker 1: anything like that, but I know people, but it's that
- 55:16Speaker 1: when when an argument hits that spot.
- 55:17Speaker 7: Where it's really about crossing over.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Somebody that's about to cross the mind. Somebody's about to
- 55:21Speaker 1: say something that you can't take back. You just whatever,
- 55:24Speaker 1: califlower whatever that random word is that like you wouldn't
- 55:26Speaker 1: normally say any sentence and that's you know, or you
- 55:28Speaker 1: just literally say time out because we're about to go places.
- 55:30Speaker 7: That we can't take beast.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and when somebody says that it's a little cold
- 55:35Speaker 1: water in everybody's face. You take a half hour, and
- 55:38Speaker 1: almost every time you come back and I was being
- 55:41Speaker 1: an idiot, I'm sorry, and everybody's apologizing and then great
- 55:44Speaker 1: sex afterwards, and so it's good.
- 55:47Speaker 2: I hate they're coming back and saying like, I'm sorry,
- 55:50Speaker 2: I was dumb. That's like my least favorite. But you
- 55:52Speaker 2: have to do it.
- 55:53Speaker 7: Yeah, nobody likes it, but you got to do it.
- 55:55Speaker 3: You have to do it.
- 55:57Speaker 2: I love that advice does your wife is she's just
- 55:59Speaker 2: so great that you've had the same love interest on
- 56:02Speaker 2: TV this many years.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Look, she got It's funny because she she I actually
- 56:08Speaker 1: met her before I know I wanted to be an actor.
- 56:10Speaker 1: We met in college and like before I started, you know.
- 56:13Speaker 1: And so she's seen me kiss a lot of different
- 56:15Speaker 1: women who are not her uh.
- 56:16Speaker 7: And educate that. Right, she's not in the industry.
- 56:19Speaker 1: She's a she's a poet uh and writer and teaches
- 56:22Speaker 1: at universities and that sort of thing. And so but okay,
- 56:26Speaker 1: I'll write her out on this one. I was recurring
- 56:31Speaker 1: as Ben as a guest star, but I wasn't a
- 56:33Speaker 1: series regular, and I've been a series regular and off
- 56:35Speaker 1: the map and I was and I didn't have a
- 56:37Speaker 1: series regular gig, and you know, guest star money is
- 56:39Speaker 1: a fraction of what I earned as a series regular.
- 56:41Speaker 7: And we had just bought a house and it was
- 56:42Speaker 7: a whole thing.
- 56:43Speaker 1: So she's like, you need to get out there, and
- 56:44Speaker 1: you need to get you need to get like a contract,
- 56:46Speaker 1: gig right. We're at a birthday party, a kid's birthday party,
- 56:49Speaker 1: kid's birthday party, preschool, and we run into a showrunner
- 56:54Speaker 1: that I know, this writer, great writer, Rina Mamoon, who
- 56:56Speaker 1: was working on a show at the time called Mistresses.
- 56:59Speaker 1: The show is called Mistresses, primetime show named Mistress. And
- 57:04Speaker 1: she goes, oh, but you're on grades, aren't you. You're
- 57:05Speaker 1: not available, And my wife just reaches across me go
- 57:07Speaker 1: he's available, And I'm like, did you just pimp me
- 57:10Speaker 1: out for Mistress?
- 57:13Speaker 7: Like my only job would be to get naked and
- 57:16Speaker 7: just get business.
- 57:16Speaker 1: So like she's like, hey, man, get out there, little
- 57:21Speaker 1: pat on the button, say go get to the street
- 57:23Speaker 1: corner and make mama some money. And so, you know,
- 57:25Speaker 1: so I stuck face with Alissa Milano for a couple of.
- 57:27Speaker 2: Years, you know, did what you had to do for
- 57:30Speaker 2: the fan.
- 57:32Speaker 1: And this is you know, shout out to Alyssa, who
- 57:34Speaker 1: is a good friend. Every dude I called I grew
- 57:37Speaker 1: up with is calling me going, dude, that was my childhood.
- 57:41Speaker 1: I was like, I know, I know, it's your childhood crush. Listen,
- 57:44Speaker 1: I got it. I'm living your dream, I got it,
- 57:46Speaker 1: keep it moving. And you know the secret secret of
- 57:50Speaker 1: that one though, the whole kissing other women is just
- 57:54Speaker 1: just introduce him early.
- 57:55Speaker 7: Yeah, once you meet face to face.
- 57:56Speaker 1: And she realizes that woman has no designs on your man,
- 58:00Speaker 1: it's all good. She's so chill with it, like she
- 58:01Speaker 1: doesn't even think about it anymore, because you know, you know,
- 58:04Speaker 1: I'm coming home right.
- 58:06Speaker 3: You're taking out the trash.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Yeah, that's literally the phrase I called. I was like,
- 58:11Speaker 7: just take out the trash, get the ego down.
- 58:13Speaker 2: It's not before you go. What is your toxic trait?
- 58:18Speaker 7: My toxic trade?
- 58:21Speaker 1: The non toxic version of it is, I'm long winded
- 58:25Speaker 1: because I'm trying to get all the thoughts and all
- 58:27Speaker 1: the you know, the facts in.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Uh.
- 58:29Speaker 1: The toxic version of it is, uh, my kids will
- 58:32Speaker 1: tell you. I will speech you find on them at
- 58:33Speaker 1: a heartbeat. The dad's speech is real, like I don't
- 58:35Speaker 1: need to put them in. I don't need to give
- 58:37Speaker 1: him put them on restriction for like a you know,
- 58:38Speaker 1: a week or two weeks or a month. Like, no,
- 58:40Speaker 1: you go sit here and listen to the speech forty
- 58:42Speaker 1: five minutes. Now, this is shouldn't have done it in
- 58:45Speaker 1: the first place.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Guess what, that's a good punishment actually, like to make
- 58:51Speaker 2: them sit and just like give them this speech.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Is like speech is off the cuff like that, that's
- 58:57Speaker 3: the skill.
- 58:58Speaker 7: It's you know, yeah exactly.
- 59:00Speaker 1: I'm just basically doing monologues from you know, let's see
- 59:02Speaker 1: that was season three, episode four.
- 59:05Speaker 7: That's a good one. Yeah, monologues from shows I watched
- 59:07Speaker 7: as a kid.
- 59:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you a little bit of you know,
- 59:09Speaker 1: who's the boss and you know monologue.
- 59:12Speaker 7: No.
- 59:12Speaker 1: But the other the other thing is you start those
- 59:14Speaker 1: those speeches. This is what the kids hate is you
- 59:16Speaker 1: start them off with asking them questions. That was my
- 59:19Speaker 1: mom's secret weapon questions. You're like, you know, and you
- 59:22Speaker 1: really want to answer it, like, so when you stole
- 59:25Speaker 1: the car in the middle of the night, and by
- 59:27Speaker 1: the way, it's my car, so you did steal it,
- 59:29Speaker 1: how did you think that was going to work out?
- 59:31Speaker 1: And she sits and waits for an answer, and you're like,
- 59:33Speaker 1: do you really want to answer? And she's like, oh, yes,
- 59:35Speaker 1: yes I do. And you're like, I hate my life
