Jack Whaley Claims U.S. Amateur Crown | Odessa News
Jack Whaley just won the U.S. Amateur championship, overcoming rain, a wasp sting, and a tough final-round battle against Jay Leng Jr. at Merion — with his dad caddying for him. His journey included moments he almost quit, but his father’s unwavering belief kept him going. Now, he’s earned exemptions to the 2027 U.S. Open, British Open, and Masters (if he stays amateur), joining golf legends like Bobby Jones at Merion.
