- 0:00all right welcome to very fine friends bonus improv yeah bonus oh my god show us your improv
- 0:25yes let me take a picture of your improv uh joe can we get a suggestion please
- 0:31your suggestion is overpaid overpaid overpaid not us am i right no we're yeah we're under
- 0:43yeah show us the money but a lot of people are a lot of ceos i feel i don't even i here's the
- 0:52I don't even have a problem necessarily with the way some CEOs are paid.
- 0:57Because it's like, you're in charge of everything in a company.
- 0:59If it's a big company.
- 1:01Like, I can understand, you know, like, making a lot of money doing that.
- 1:04Yeah, but no golden parachute then.
- 1:06Like, if you do bad and you have to be, like, removed, a lot of them leave with, like, a big package.
- 1:13I mean, if you screw up, I think, yeah, you should not get to then also take $20 million with you when you leave.
- 1:20But like, I think if you, I think CEOs do bring value, like a good CEO does bring value
- 1:26to a company.
- 1:27I think there's a lot of mid-level people that are overpaid.
- 1:31And like, once you, like, once you get into the workforce, like, I remember being like,
- 1:39you know, in my early twenties and like, you know, being like 20, basically having, when
- 1:45I had my first office job and it was like, oh, I just assumed everyone was competent.
- 1:50And then you're like, oh, no, most of them are not, in fact.
- 1:55And they're in charge and people respect them somehow and they don't know how to do anything.
- 2:01Yeah, I think that's a universal experience once you get into the workforce.
- 2:06Yeah, I certainly noticed that, too.
- 2:08And it's kind of like.
- 2:11Almost like the emperor's.
- 2:12What's that story?
- 2:14Emperor's naked.
- 2:15New clothes.
- 2:15Yeah.
- 2:16I must have heard a different version.
- 2:18No, no, the emperor's naked.
- 2:19That's what it was.
- 2:20Yeah.
- 2:20But it's like,
- 2:21other people are just like applauding.
- 2:22Like, yes, yes.
- 2:23Like applauding.
- 2:23And I'm watching.
- 2:24I'm like, this is horrible.
- 2:25Yep.
- 2:26This man don't know nothing.
- 2:28Yeah.
- 2:29Don't give Gina a promotion
- 2:31just because she said
- 2:33that we should be more efficient
- 2:36with our shipping.
- 2:37Oh, that's brilliant.
- 2:38Yeah, that's not brilliant.
- 2:39Gina, Gina.
- 2:41Can I tell you the most weird,
- 2:42the weirdest thing I ever did
- 2:44were like,
- 2:46so when I was working at this,
- 2:47I like made my department
- 2:49way more efficient
- 2:49and I was the only one in my department because it was night shift like data processing and I like
- 2:54streamlined so many things that I had some down like a lot of downtime yeah so one night I was
- 2:58carrying in this was years and years ago like a tv with like you know those tvs I had a built-in
- 3:03vhs yeah so I was like bringing it into my office because I was gonna like plug it in and watch tv and one of the managers was like what the hell is this Like as I carrying it like it a TV It like what are you doing with it I like I gonna watch it
- 3:17Hey maybe go put it back in my car. You didn't like that? No. I'm like well punish me then for
- 3:24being so good. Yeah. Yeah it's another monitor. Plays thrift store VHSs for
- 3:34work.
- 3:38I have to watch the movie
- 3:40Clifford for work.
- 3:42Clifford Files.
- 3:44And you'd be like, no, no, no, I'm using it to
- 3:46watch how-to VHS tapes on
- 3:48how to do this job.
- 3:49Which I thought of that. I was just embarrassed to be caught.
- 3:53And now, improv.
- 4:01Uh, Dennis,
- 4:03can you come in here please yep what's up mr howard um dennis can you please explain um
- 4:13what this bouncy castle is doing in your your office yes mr howard i can
- 4:22the top shelves are increasingly hard to reach and due to my fear of ladders i thought hey
- 4:31What'll get me up there and back down?
- 4:34Bouncy house.
- 4:36Don't worry.
- 4:36I got a great deal on it.
- 4:38Oh, wow.
- 4:38Dennis, that's really, really smart of you.
- 4:41That's why we pay you the big bucks.
- 4:44You know what?
- 4:44I like that idea.
- 4:46Yeah?
- 4:46Yeah.
- 4:46Mr. Howard, wow.
- 4:48I'm going to install bouncy houses in everybody's office from now on.
- 4:53Oh, this is such an honor.
- 4:54It's finally.
- 4:54I've always wondered, why do we put shelves so high?
- 4:58They're so high.
- 4:59not everyone's tall Mr. Howard
- 5:01we are but not everyone
- 5:03uh I
- 5:06but now it leads me to my next question
- 5:09I can't see I can't wait to see
- 5:11where this innovation goes
- 5:13what's with the slip and slide down the hallway
- 5:17oh Mr. Howard I should think that was obvious
- 5:20um you know how the employees have been complaining
- 5:23that um that their 30 minute lunch is is not long enough
- 5:27oh yeah
- 5:28Because the building's so big, you know, it takes them like five minutes to get to the lunchroom.
- 5:33Not with the slip and slide.
- 5:36So people would just be slipping and sliding straight into the lunchroom?
- 5:39Yeah.
- 5:40It cuts down travel time by three minutes.
- 5:43So in a way, it's like I gave them an extra three minutes in their lunch.
- 5:47You are a magnanimous boss, Mr. Howard.
- 5:50God bless you.
- 5:52Dennis, I like the cut of your jib.
- 5:54I cut it for you, Mr. Howard.
- 5:58can i run my next thought by you please please do you're a non-stop good idea machine well you
- 6:07know how there so many papers in a filing cabinet i do know that you know how they have those inventions for kids that a sticky hand where you thwap it and it sticks to something Yeah I thought what if we give everyone these sticky hands And this way they don even have to cross the room to get the files out of the filing cabinet
- 6:26My God, it would be like having a ten foot long arm.
- 6:30Exactly, Mr. Howard.
- 6:31Oh.
- 6:33Dennis, I don't know what I did in a previous life.
- 6:38What I did right that brought you to me.
- 6:41What you've done in this life, sir, has been enough.
- 6:45Dennis, would it be weird if I kissed you gently on the forehead?
- 6:49Not at all, Mr. Howard.
- 6:50I frankly thought I was going to have to go a lot farther to get ahead here.
- 6:55I'm ready for my promotion.
- 6:58Oh.
- 6:59Thank you, Mr. Howard.
- 7:01Oh, is that Copenhagen?
- 7:04That's right.
- 7:05I used to be a skull man, but not anymore.
- 7:09Now just Copenhagen.
- 7:11Thank you. I'm ready to move up.
- 7:15Good. I'm putting you in charge of the daycare center here at work.
- 7:24It's actually a promotion, believe it or not.
- 7:26Thank you, Mr. Howard. I won't let you down.
- 7:31Cut to the daycare.
- 7:36Hey, Marsha.
- 7:38Yes?
- 7:41I don't know what happened since I got promoted.
- 7:44I'm struggling.
- 7:45I'm struggling to come up with a good idea.
- 7:48Well, I gotta be honest with you.
- 7:53When you installed a fax machine here in the daycare center
- 7:58as a way to help feed the children,
- 8:02it didn't quite make sense.
- 8:06And, uh...
- 8:07No, that can't be right.
- 8:09when you
- 8:11when you said we should stop
- 8:13stop using
- 8:16disposable diapers and just take
- 8:18staplers and staple all the
- 8:20diapers together
- 8:20a lot of babies got cut
- 8:23I'm going to be honest
- 8:27I don't think
- 8:28I don't think your ideas
- 8:32of bringing office supplies
- 8:34into a non-office environment
- 8:36are working quite the same way
- 8:37your ideas of bringing fun, childish things into an office environment did.
- 8:46That reminds me of a new invention I have for the babies.
- 8:50Okay, I guess you get one more shot before I let Mr. Howard know this isn't working.
- 8:57Don't worry about me and Mr. Howard.
- 9:01But I was thinking, you know how some of these kids can't swim?
- 9:05I'd say a right side of them, I'd say almost all of them can't swim.
- 9:11Yeah.
- 9:11Um, I have a new productivity for the daycare center.
- 9:15Okay.
- 9:16It a pool and at the bottom of the pool is a little trampoline And from now on you just be lifting up the babies and chucking them as hard as you can to the bottom of the pool They will bounce out It will teach them confidence and swimming
- 9:36Yes.
- 9:37My God, Dennis.
- 9:39You've done it.
- 9:40This is going to solve multiple problems.
- 9:42First, we promised the parents that we would teach their kids to swim for some reason.
- 9:48I don't know why we promised that.
- 9:49also i have this weird compulsion where i'm constantly throwing the babies towards the ground
- 9:54i noticed that i five s'd it and five wide it
- 9:58you're you're you're gonna go far with me um i'm just gonna go talk to mr howard
- 10:04cut to mr howard um i i think we have to let marcia go um oh oh she's a bad idea machine i
- 10:16I saw her throwing a baby.
- 10:18I said,
- 10:19I said,
- 10:20Marsha.
- 10:21I said,
- 10:21what are you doing?
- 10:23So wait,
- 10:24what was she throwing the baby into?
- 10:27A pool of water,
- 10:28sir.
- 10:30With a,
- 10:31it pains me to say this,
- 10:33a trampoline at the bottom.
- 10:34What do you think of that?
- 10:36That sounds actually like a lot of fun and a great way to teach babies confidence and swimming all at the same time.
- 10:46get Marsha in here
- 10:49oh okay
- 10:50it sounds like she's become
- 10:52you've rubbed off on her she's now
- 10:54the good idea machine
