Changing The Standard Story in Academic Research
The standard academic story is that person pushes away the outside world for 30 years, and then we celebrate that particular person for doing so. Can we change the story? How do we ensure that you feel like you are part of a community? Can we ensure all people you’re welcome and included? I think so. I think if we repeatedly tell people that they’re not alone, that they are remarkable, and that they matter, I think we can change a lot of the downsides of the system.
