- 0:00Speaker 1: And I'm recording yay, I have a little post nasal
- 0:04Speaker 1: drip audience, so I apologize. Oh no, I've had it
- 0:08Speaker 1: for a few days. It sounds a little like this MHM.
- 0:13Speaker 1: And I just wanted to be honest with the audience
- 0:16Speaker 1: that they might hear a bit of that.
- 0:18Speaker 2: What's going on with you, bro?
- 0:19Speaker 1: I don't want Daniel to cut it out because I
- 0:21Speaker 1: want them to know that it's happening.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Was you out and about? Were you around the people's.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I know I've been at the beach mostly in nature,
- 0:32Speaker 1: but I just I just got this, you know. I'm
- 0:35Speaker 1: just so happy it wasn't COVID because I'm still in
- 0:37Speaker 1: the phase where I'm so I'm still instantly think I
- 0:41Speaker 1: have COVID and I took a test. I don't have it.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I just have a I have a little bit of
- 0:44Speaker 1: a sore throat and I have this. Could it be
- 0:47Speaker 1: from the water, No, it's just Loogie's man. It's just
- 0:51Speaker 1: a natural human culture.
- 0:52Speaker 2: The beach really considered nature.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Though, absolutely, when is the Why is the beach not nature?
- 0:59Speaker 1: You're not a I think it.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Would have to be forest to be nature.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You're not a big beach fan yourself.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I know that the beach.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You don't like sand. You don't like sand?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Sand?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Is it because it's coarse and it gets everywhere you
- 1:13Speaker 3: like to fish?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Well, that's one thing. It is course, and it gets everywhere.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You don't like to lie out, I don't.
- 1:19Speaker 2: It's not that. It's not just the sand, it's the water.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Also, I hate I like beaches where I can see
- 1:26Speaker 4: in the water. I don't like beaches where and I
- 1:28Speaker 4: grew up on the East Coast and the water's cold
- 1:31Speaker 4: and you can't see into that motherfucker. And that Jaws
- 1:38Speaker 4: movie when I was a kid did a number on me.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah, my babysitter.
- 1:43Speaker 4: My dad gave the babysitter money and said take them
- 1:45Speaker 4: to the movies. Yeah, and she took me to see Jaws.
- 1:49Speaker 4: And that is really And there are still shark attacks.
- 1:54Speaker 4: They still make movies that are real about shark attacks,
- 1:58Speaker 4: and you know, like people getting there, you know, getting
- 2:01Speaker 4: bit and stuff like that.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So is that your Is that your reason for for
- 2:05Speaker 1: not liking the beach is that you're worried you're gonna
- 2:07Speaker 1: get eaten by a shark. Not eating but bit, yeah, sure,
- 2:12Speaker 1: eating bit, same thing. I don't think you're gonna get
- 2:14Speaker 1: that scares me.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Also, like the water is real weird and nasty now todays.
- 2:21Speaker 4: And you know, I heard about this thing that swims
- 2:24Speaker 4: into water and travels up the urethra. That's got to
- 2:28Speaker 4: be in a certain body of water at a certain point
- 2:30Speaker 4: on the planet.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I don't think that's happening.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Point isn't all the water. Isn't all the water starting
- 2:35Speaker 4: to shift? And you know that shit freaks me out.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Now, I don't really know what you're talking about.
- 2:41Speaker 4: You don't know about the parasite that goes through your
- 2:43Speaker 4: urethra and kills you.
- 2:45Speaker 1: No, I haven't heard about it. It's a little too much
- 2:46Speaker 1: TikTok oh. Oh, it's on a TikTok thing. I don't know.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I don't have I know about this ship because I
- 2:52Speaker 2: know about this ship.
- 2:53Speaker 1: No, you probably know about it from Instagram reels.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Then, no, I don't know about it from Instagram reels.
- 2:57Speaker 4: I've known about this ship for a real, real long time,
- 3:00Speaker 4: and all of a sudden test my knowledge.
- 3:01Speaker 1: On the other side of things, I would like to
- 3:04Speaker 1: say that I've been really I've been loving the ocean
- 3:06Speaker 1: this summer. I've always had a different fear.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Of the attack well.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna put You know what I'm gonna do is
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna put like a little I'm gonna put a
- 3:15Speaker 1: band aid over my tip. Do you think that'll prevent
- 3:19Speaker 1: him from going in?
- 3:20Speaker 2: You gotta make it to it perfect.
- 3:22Speaker 1: There's so many around. He's gonna be like that one's blocked.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna try this one next door. That's what you
- 3:32Speaker 1: should do, is just tape your ship closed. I'm gonna
- 3:34Speaker 1: do that.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I need some horror movies.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I need, I need. I need tape that will withstand
- 3:38Speaker 1: the ocean. Maybe some duct tape.
- 3:41Speaker 2: But that.
- 3:41Speaker 4: But that's the crazy port that always got to me
- 3:44Speaker 4: was Hakama just goes through the urethra Hakim.
- 3:46Speaker 2: It doesn't go through like the ears. There's so many.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Other everyone everyone has. Listen, if you ever watch these
- 3:53Speaker 1: shows where people are house hunting, everyone has a different
- 3:56Speaker 1: vibe that they like. And this creature likes the vibe
- 3:59Speaker 1: the bigger. That's good, right to each their own. I
- 4:07Speaker 1: might like modern farmhouse. That thing likes ureath throw.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Anyway, my thing wasn't sharks as it was waves. I
- 4:21Speaker 1: had an incident when I was a kid, and I'm
- 4:22Speaker 1: almost drowned, and I, at least in my mind, maybe
- 4:25Speaker 1: I don't know if I really would have drowned. So
- 4:27Speaker 1: my whole life, I've had a fear of waves, and
- 4:30Speaker 1: this summer I've really taken it on in smaller waves.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You know, I'm out in Malibu. I found a beach
- 4:36Speaker 1: where the waves aren't huge. I'm trying things like taking
- 4:41Speaker 1: some surf lessons. I've been. Yeah, it's really been. Truly.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It's gonna sound stupid to a lot of people, but
- 4:47Speaker 1: I have been tackling a fear in waves because ever
- 4:50Speaker 1: since childhood I had I got rocked once and then
- 4:53Speaker 1: I came up and I got rocked again, and there
- 4:55Speaker 1: was ripped hide and I just remember thinking, like I
- 4:58Speaker 1: remember looking at the lifeguard and he was like hundred
- 5:00Speaker 1: yards away. I mean, the fact that there even was
- 5:03Speaker 1: one was amazing, right, But I had that thought that
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm sure other people listening have had, were like, holy shit,
- 5:08Speaker 1: is this it? Like I got a fight and I
- 5:11Speaker 1: fought and I got out, but it scarred me definitely.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And I've been trying that this this many years later,
- 5:17Speaker 1: to tiptoe back.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And get out. Did you swim on your back?
- 5:20Speaker 1: How did I think I just struggled and foughted and
- 5:22Speaker 1: and uh and there was a break in the set
- 5:25Speaker 1: of waves because they just kept every time I'd come
- 5:27Speaker 1: back up, they they were rocking down back on me.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And I think I got I got that set of
- 5:32Speaker 1: waves finished and I was able to catch my breath.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, that's real, man. I mean, you know, good
- 5:37Speaker 3: for you for getting back out there.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That's awesome. Yeah. And it's and also surfing, I've I've
- 5:42Speaker 1: always you know, when I think of surfing, my brother
- 5:45Speaker 1: surfed it my whole life, and lots of people that
- 5:47Speaker 1: love it and swear by. I always think of these
- 5:48Speaker 1: big waves that we see on TV. Not not the extreme,
- 5:52Speaker 1: not the extreme one hundred for waves like in the show,
- 5:55Speaker 1: but like you know, big waves that we see pros surfing.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Like can point break you think Point Break.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Or just anything you've seen photographed, you know, a six
- 6:03Speaker 1: foot ten foot tall wave whatever. It never occurred to
- 6:06Speaker 1: me that, Oh there's just like skiing, there's also a
- 6:08Speaker 1: bunny slope, like you can go on a tiny wave
- 6:11Speaker 1: with a pro And so that's what I've been doing
- 6:13Speaker 1: out in out of Malibu is like you know, you're
- 6:16Speaker 1: on like a two three foot wave and the teachers
- 6:20Speaker 1: because you know, launching you into it, you know, pushing
- 6:23Speaker 1: you because part of the hard part is catching it.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And then he goes like, he goes okay, he goes
- 6:27Speaker 1: like up, and then that's for your cue to jump up.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And then when you catch it and you get the
- 6:31Speaker 1: balance and you ride it in, even if it's small,
- 6:34Speaker 1: it's fun as hell. So I'm really I'm really stoked
- 6:37Speaker 1: because it's been a it's definitely been a fear of
- 6:40Speaker 1: mine for most of my life, and this summer I've
- 6:42Speaker 1: been taking it on. Good for you, Zach, that's really awesome.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Good for you, which is soundtrack right now? What do
- 6:49Speaker 2: you mean a Malibu?
- 6:51Speaker 1: I've been listening to a lot of you know, I
- 6:54Speaker 1: like this new Boy Genius Phoebe Bridger's band gens Rips. Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I like that. Their merch is great too, Is there
- 7:05Speaker 1: merch good? It's very good.
- 7:08Speaker 2: We got merch.
- 7:12Speaker 1: We really phoned in our merch after the after the
- 7:14Speaker 1: initial excitement of having a podcast, we were told like, oh,
- 7:18Speaker 1: podcast listeners love merch, so we got really into it
- 7:20Speaker 1: and then we fell off Donald.
- 7:22Speaker 4: We totally fell up, Like, when's the last time we
- 7:24Speaker 4: put out a onesie or you should like out there
- 7:28Speaker 4: out there right now for real, Like that's a real
- 7:30Speaker 4: good question. The onesie was a hit and there are
- 7:33Speaker 4: very few people that have that onesie out there.
- 7:36Speaker 1: There were people that wore the onesie to the Live show,
- 7:38Speaker 1: that's right.
- 7:39Speaker 4: There were people that wore the onesie on on on
- 7:42Speaker 4: Australian television.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and Drew Barrymore wore the onesie.
- 7:48Speaker 4: There was someone who wore a onesie on National TV
- 7:53Speaker 4: and her name. She's one of the select few out there.
- 7:58Speaker 4: If you have a onesie right now, you're wanted to
- 8:00Speaker 4: select you. We have other merch at the store. I'm
- 8:04Speaker 4: gonna say this right now. We're not restocking anytime soon.
- 8:08Speaker 1: If that merch merch, that merch is dusty, we gotta
- 8:12Speaker 1: we gotta research merch dusty.
- 8:13Speaker 2: They keep that shit clean.
- 8:14Speaker 1: They got I'm literally dusty. I'm saying it's old Like
- 8:18Speaker 1: we need to come up with some new ship. But
- 8:20Speaker 1: you're not gonna do it, and I'm not gonna do it,
- 8:22Speaker 1: So it's not gonna get done.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I dare somebody, Joe, Well, we need to hire like
- 8:27Speaker 3: a in our next incarnation of the podcast.
- 8:30Speaker 1: In chapter two, Got It, which is starting soon. We
- 8:34Speaker 1: need to hire like someone who's like really into like
- 8:38Speaker 1: graphic design and can make cool merch because Donald and
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't want to give it the thought. Our dream
- 8:44Speaker 1: is that someone comes to us who's like a graphic designer,
- 8:47Speaker 1: is like and loves the show, and it's like, look
- 8:50Speaker 1: at this cool shirt I made, and we're like, that's awesome.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You know, we need to hire that makes Can I
- 8:55Speaker 1: make one pitch? Of course, don it's your show. It's
- 8:59Speaker 1: fifty per cent you show. You can make fifty percent
- 9:01Speaker 1: of a picture.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Can somebody draw a shirt where we are Star Wars
- 9:08Speaker 4: theme but it's not necessarily don't have to look like
- 9:11Speaker 4: the Star Wars characters and not the Scrubs characters. But
- 9:13Speaker 4: you know how they do it A pictures where it's
- 9:16Speaker 4: like there's the big head, the little head, the guys
- 9:18Speaker 4: off in the corner, the spaceship flying, you know.
- 9:22Speaker 2: On the horse.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Star Wars motif, a Star Wars motif.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I don't want us to be dressed like I don't
- 9:28Speaker 4: want to be fucking Han solo.
- 9:31Speaker 1: The mid of the classic Star Wars poster, but the
- 9:35Speaker 1: four of us, right, and maybe Bill on the background
- 9:39Speaker 1: trying to break.
- 9:40Speaker 2: In the largest figure.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill's and faded into the back, just his head,
- 9:43Speaker 1: just like Bill could be in the back like like
- 9:46Speaker 1: like the Emperor.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Everybody kind on the show, you know what I mean?
- 9:51Speaker 4: We could we could have Sam on it, everybody.
- 9:53Speaker 1: This is the kind of thing, Joelle that if we
- 9:55Speaker 1: had a staff graphic designer, they would be like, they'd
- 10:00Speaker 1: have a draft of it by the afternoon.
- 10:03Speaker 2: They'd be like, say no more.
- 10:05Speaker 5: I will for a solid graphic designer because that sure.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and also someone who loves the show, because it
- 10:11Speaker 1: would be fun to be, like, it would be fun
- 10:14Speaker 1: to just come up with funny ideas and have the
- 10:16Speaker 1: person pitch things based on the show. You know what
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean? You know what I'm saying. You know I mean,
- 10:23Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. My house got flooded with poop?
- 10:29Speaker 1: Is that instag Yeah, that's the pipe that claused all
- 10:34Speaker 1: my troubles. Oh exactly, any of you who follow me
- 10:37Speaker 1: on Instagram, I I I took pictures of the very
- 10:40Speaker 1: pipe that ruined my my precious living space.
- 10:45Speaker 5: That sounds horrendous. How long is that?
- 10:47Speaker 1: Like it's two day too? Well, this is a debacle.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Oh no, my neighbor's poop came over to visit. Let
- 10:58Speaker 1: me tell you what happened. Let me tell you happywhere.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You know when you know when your neighbor knocks on
- 11:03Speaker 1: your door, it's like, hey, do you ever want to
- 11:05Speaker 1: get a drink and hang out?
- 11:07Speaker 3: That's what That's what my neighbors poop did.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It didn't knock anyway. So, to make a very long
- 11:16Speaker 1: story short, I had to rip out all my floors
- 11:19Speaker 1: of the lower the lower floor of my house. And
- 11:22Speaker 1: because it's pooh in.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It, Oh man, I'm so sorry.
- 11:29Speaker 1: It never to be. I know it sounds unrealistic, but
- 11:31Speaker 1: it never smelt like poop. It smelled like a musty basement.
- 11:35Speaker 1: But it was definitively poop water. Like there weren't there
- 11:41Speaker 1: weren't like logs rolling around, but there were. It was
- 11:44Speaker 1: poop water. Yeah I knew. I mean it was the
- 11:47Speaker 1: seward line silver silver linings. I guess what's the silver lane.
- 11:54Speaker 3: And it didn't smell completely like ship.
- 11:57Speaker 1: There was toilet paper.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you know it's gross because I had these I
- 12:03Speaker 3: had these really nice I had these really nice wood floors, right,
- 12:07Speaker 3: and you know how like when you get nice wood floors,
- 12:09Speaker 3: there's all like it's not just flat like fake. It's
- 12:12Speaker 3: like all the nooks and crannies of the real oak Well,
- 12:15Speaker 3: in all those nooks and cranny was was was TP.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Jesus, No, No, this is one of those things that
- 12:22Speaker 4: like tries here, I'm gonna die.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna lose it. I don't wish this on anyone.
- 12:28Speaker 1: It's horrible. All I can say is that make sure
- 12:30Speaker 1: your house has something. If you're a homeowner, Oh god,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I'm getting chills. Let me give the audience some free
- 12:35Speaker 1: advice because I'm I'm I'm gonna give you all some advice.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I never knew that you needed to have. But if
- 12:41Speaker 1: you're a homeowner, make sure that your sewer line has
- 12:45Speaker 1: what's called a check valve on it. The check valve
- 12:48Speaker 1: allows for poop to leave the home, but not to
- 12:51Speaker 1: come back in. You know when the bouncers throw a
- 12:53Speaker 1: drunk eye out of a bar. Yes, that's what a
- 12:56Speaker 1: check valve is. They are the check valve.
- 12:58Speaker 3: It lets the drunk guy and the poop out. But
- 13:01Speaker 3: when he tries to come back in. No, no, no, no, no,
- 13:05Speaker 3: it goes, it goes. No no no, don't try me.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember you, I remember you, motherfucker.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, walk away, walk away, poop away.
- 13:16Speaker 2: It sends reinforcements to the house.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Did not have a poop bouncer. Now listen, everyone, we
- 13:22Speaker 1: have quite a show today. We continue our amazing new
- 13:28Speaker 1: Strike show, which is having very fascinating, interesting people on
- 13:33Speaker 1: that we think are really cool and shooting the ship
- 13:37Speaker 1: with them and asking them questions. All right, everybody, all right, everybody,
- 13:42Speaker 1: all right, everybody what I.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Was talking about? You got it back?
- 13:46Speaker 4: No?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Oh, it's back?
- 13:47Speaker 6: Who tang forever? Who tang forever?
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's back? Baby. I was sitting here when you were
- 13:51Speaker 1: having technical troubles playing with everything.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Eat these balls, Zach, Eat these balls, Zach.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Whether it be taking a poop, whether it be a fad,
- 14:00Speaker 4: whether it be a tongue, whether you know, everybody likes
- 14:03Speaker 4: a little.
- 14:04Speaker 6: Ass like.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Preston clearly Preston clearly. It doesn't listen to the show
- 14:09Speaker 1: because he's cracking up. All right, uh, Donald, count of
- 14:14Speaker 1: sid We have a very special guest today.
- 14:18Speaker 7: That show we made about a bunch of docs and
- 14:23Speaker 7: nurses said.
- 14:26Speaker 5: He's the stories.
- 14:30Speaker 6: So YadA.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yea, ladies and gentlemen, one of my best friends in
- 14:43Speaker 1: the whole world, without a doubt. The kindest person I'm
- 14:46Speaker 1: friends with. I know that. Sorry, Donald, but you're just
- 14:50Speaker 1: not this kind. Uh. He's a lovely man. He's incredibly talented.
- 14:55Speaker 1: He is currently playing Javert in the tour of Lamy's
- 14:59Speaker 1: Rob Mister Preston Boyd, Are you welcome?
- 15:09Speaker 5: What an intro? Thank you happy to be here.
- 15:11Speaker 1: We have to share a mic, and I can tell
- 15:13Speaker 1: that you've had a drink or two today already.
- 15:15Speaker 8: Well, you know I have a show off tonight, so
- 15:18Speaker 8: you know your congratulations.
- 15:20Speaker 1: One thing we know is that when you have a
- 15:22Speaker 1: day off from doing an eighth show schedule, you might
- 15:25Speaker 1: throw a throw throw one back at noon?
- 15:28Speaker 8: Absolutely is it noon?
- 15:32Speaker 2: A it's way past noon.
- 15:35Speaker 1: It's five o'clock somewhere.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Would you drink?
- 15:37Speaker 1: Welcome to the program, Preston.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I want to know what he had, what kind of stuff?
- 15:40Speaker 8: He wants to know what you had to drinks? And
- 15:43Speaker 8: then I had a cold plunge. I'm still freezing.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Right now, Mimosa, you got all bougie with it.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Well, you know, Preston, I have. I have turned Preston
- 15:53Speaker 1: onto the cold plunge life here at my house, and
- 15:56Speaker 1: he's loving it. We don't I don't have a song yet,
- 15:58Speaker 1: but I have just the plunge and we both have
- 16:01Speaker 1: been really truly feeling amazing, doing it right, amazing.
- 16:05Speaker 5: But I have to confess I broke a rule today.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Oh so I want to just tell the audience this.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I need to give a little backs for about the rules,
- 16:14Speaker 1: bro I have to quickly tell the audience because they'll
- 16:21Speaker 1: love this. I've been out staying out at the beach
- 16:24Speaker 1: and John C McGinley lives out there and I've been,
- 16:27Speaker 1: uh he is forever for years.
- 16:29Speaker 5: You know.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Now, this cold plunge s on of thing is a
- 16:32Speaker 1: trend and a lot of people are doing it. John
- 16:33Speaker 1: C's been doing it for decades and swearing by it,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and so now that I'm into it, I've been going
- 16:38Speaker 1: to his house. People Scrubs fan with love this. It's
- 16:40Speaker 1: literally Johnny C like doctor Cox yelling at me JD
- 16:45Speaker 1: to fucking do it right and go slower and not
- 16:47Speaker 1: get out what the fuck are you doing? And it's
- 16:50Speaker 1: it would be amazing content for the audience because it's
- 16:52Speaker 1: like real life doctor Cox and JD and Johnny is
- 16:56Speaker 1: so funny and he has all these rules. Bill Lawrence
- 16:59Speaker 1: and I have been teasing him because he's he's he's
- 17:01Speaker 1: kind of kidding, but he's not kidding, and he is
- 17:03Speaker 1: all these rules about using this cold plunge, and they're
- 17:06Speaker 1: they're extensive, and one of them is that if you
- 17:09Speaker 1: come to use his cold Plunge, you must first greet him.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You can't just go. You can't just use the you
- 17:15Speaker 1: can't just put in the gate, you can't just go
- 17:16Speaker 1: to the gate code and like just go in the
- 17:18Speaker 1: cold plunge. You got to come say hi right now.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I've been He's got like thirty rules that are hilarious,
- 17:23Speaker 1: but I've been teasing him about that. And then Preston
- 17:27Speaker 1: did it. He fucking came over my house and just plunged.
- 17:30Speaker 1: And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. There
- 17:33Speaker 1: are fucking rules, and I have my friend. I told Johnny.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Johnny was dying laughing. I go, Johnny, now I understand it.
- 17:39Speaker 1: This motherfucker came over and just plunged. He didn't come
- 17:43Speaker 1: say hi.
- 17:44Speaker 8: I'm Norwegian. I like I've jumped into frozen legs. We
- 17:48Speaker 8: cut it with a chainsaw. So I felt like I was.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I felt welcome, and in my elements, no, no, you
- 17:55Speaker 1: come say hi. I don't care if you're in Norwegian.
- 17:57Speaker 8: So the rule I broke today, go ahead, didn't bring
- 18:00Speaker 8: my own towel.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's another Johnny, A very big Johnny Sea
- 18:05Speaker 1: rule is I am not a fluff and fold. Bring
- 18:08Speaker 1: your own towel. Now, it doesn't matter if you forget
- 18:12Speaker 1: your towel. He's not like I got you this time.
- 18:14Speaker 1: You don't have a towel.
- 18:16Speaker 2: So you got to make the lesson.
- 18:18Speaker 8: Stand stand there in the breeze and you freeze your
- 18:20Speaker 8: ass off.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Eat these bulls.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yes, I adopted Zach. My friends in my neighborhood are
- 18:29Speaker 1: starting to enjoy my plunge. So I had this Johnny.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I had to text Johnny and be like, I get it,
- 18:34Speaker 1: bro I'm not a laundromat. Bring your own towel.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I was gonna gift.
- 18:38Speaker 1: So what did you do? How are you dry?
- 18:40Speaker 5: Son? The son? The sun's amazing, very hot. It's great. Yes,
- 18:45Speaker 5: the sun is great.
- 18:47Speaker 2: The problem I should have burned you though, that's right.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I know you are a bit red Preston. I'm not
- 18:52Speaker 2: gonna keep it one under with you.
- 18:53Speaker 5: This is me enjoying California. We have to go out
- 18:58Speaker 5: and play golf.
- 18:59Speaker 4: By the way, speaking I've been played in like over
- 19:02Speaker 4: a year.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Man.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I've been trying to set up a mandate between you
- 19:06Speaker 1: two because you both have a love of two things
- 19:09Speaker 1: that pair very nicely.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Together, marijuana and golf.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yes, And I don't know why I can't get you
- 19:15Speaker 1: guys to go on a mandate.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I just haven't played golf. And listen, he can play, right.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he's really good. What's your hand He plays with
- 19:22Speaker 1: Troy Mullins.
- 19:23Speaker 2: She's a freaking long drive champion.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Dude, what's your handicap? I'm not going to know what
- 19:28Speaker 1: this means.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Six?
- 19:29Speaker 1: Right, he's a six Is that good?
- 19:31Speaker 5: It's okay.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I've been bettery decent, I've been scratched, but he's a
- 19:34Speaker 2: six on. He's a six on like real golf courses.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm a six on like Encino, Balboa, Griffith.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I'm a sixth. You know what I mean.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I once shot a seventy eight, seventy eight at freaking Calabassas,
- 19:51Speaker 4: and it was the best day of my life. I
- 19:53Speaker 4: still haven't scorecard in my fucking back pocket, you know
- 19:56Speaker 4: what I mean. There was a point where I was
- 19:58Speaker 4: playing so much that if I didn't shoot in the seventies.
- 20:01Speaker 4: I was pissed off unless I went to unless I
- 20:05Speaker 4: went to like some extremely hard course. When I hit
- 20:08Speaker 4: When I shot a seventy nine at Run you Sorry
- 20:11Speaker 4: at Rustic Canyon, That's when I was like, yo, I
- 20:14Speaker 4: am playing way too much fucking golf and you're.
- 20:17Speaker 5: Obsessed at that point.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but he lost it. He's not interested anymore. He's
- 20:20Speaker 1: got other interests.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I'm not interested now. I don't.
- 20:24Speaker 4: I want to play and not have expectations, you know
- 20:26Speaker 4: what I mean, that's the best way to play way better.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I can't convince you to go on a mandate with Preston.
- 20:33Speaker 2: No, I totally want to go while he's in California.
- 20:34Speaker 2: We're going to do that. Man.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Let me tell you something else, Dane. And you know
- 20:38Speaker 1: this because you set it up. Another rule a Johnny's
- 20:40Speaker 1: house is when you're done plunging and sonning, you must
- 20:43Speaker 1: come and find him in the golf shed to say
- 20:46Speaker 1: goodbye and give you and give your respects. Now, this
- 20:51Speaker 1: gentleman is playing three hours a day minimum on his
- 20:55Speaker 1: simulator that Dan will help set up in that golf shed.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Sounds about right, And he told me that it is
- 21:02Speaker 1: definitely improving his actual, real life game.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yes, love that and love to keep the one hundred
- 21:09Speaker 2: with you.
- 21:09Speaker 4: If you're hitting the ball three hours a day, every
- 21:13Speaker 4: day and you're not getting better, there's something wrong with you.
- 21:20Speaker 7: Not that.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I just didn't know if it translated to the actual course,
- 21:25Speaker 1: and he said absolutely.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Hell yeah, man, you hit Listen, your swing is your swing,
- 21:29Speaker 4: and once you can tell what your swing is doing,
- 21:32Speaker 4: you're able.
- 21:33Speaker 2: To play anywhere.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Like a lot of people get hung up on I
- 21:36Speaker 4: want my shit to go left or I want my
- 21:37Speaker 4: shit to go right.
- 21:39Speaker 2: If you can navigate a.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Course with what your ball does when you swing, you're
- 21:43Speaker 4: ahead of the game.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Man, You're you're competing.
- 21:46Speaker 4: It's it's the biggest freaking mind fucked and nobody can
- 21:51Speaker 4: understand it unless they play.
- 21:52Speaker 5: You know what cliche? I have a kid, You have kids.
- 21:55Speaker 5: I don't. I'm not able to play like I used to.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Why can't you bring the kid in a in a in.
- 22:00Speaker 5: A She'll get hit by a fucking golf ball.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Really I will.
- 22:04Speaker 5: I'll never be able to live with myself.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Why can't you know what?
- 22:07Speaker 5: Someone should build a little bull.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Someone should invent a stroller that has like a cage
- 22:12Speaker 1: on it so you know what I'm saying. Someone should
- 22:16Speaker 1: invent a golf stroller. And if the ball it's got
- 22:19Speaker 1: like you know, the cage that's on the thing that
- 22:20Speaker 1: picks up the balls at the driving it should God
- 22:23Speaker 1: the best.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Day ever for every dad, every dad, that'd be the
- 22:27Speaker 4: best day ever.
- 22:28Speaker 3: This is my this is your real reason for not
- 22:31Speaker 3: bringing your baby.
- 22:31Speaker 1: That you're word you're gonna get hit.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Oh, not necessarily spoopy dive.
- 22:36Speaker 4: There's all kinds of that's a distraction. You can't be distracted.
- 22:39Speaker 4: You have to be one hundred dialed in.
- 22:42Speaker 5: I mean, how many times are we hearing for when
- 22:44Speaker 5: you play around the golf?
- 22:45Speaker 2: I hear it at least once once or twice.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Now for when you yell if your if your ball
- 22:50Speaker 1: is just going crazy. Yeah, I'd be yelling for all
- 22:52Speaker 1: the time. Does it hurt if you get hit in
- 22:55Speaker 1: the head of the.
- 22:58Speaker 5: Up the hill?
- 22:59Speaker 2: You got able to go all yet?
- 23:00Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 23:02Speaker 2: Me too. I got hitting the rib cage.
- 23:04Speaker 5: It was off a skip. It hit the ground and
- 23:06Speaker 5: then jumped up and it's like forest.
- 23:08Speaker 2: This shitting curved right into me left too.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Just motherfucker hit that ship off the tee and it
- 23:12Speaker 4: curved right like hooked right into me.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Man, did you run now, man?
- 23:17Speaker 4: Because I was this was my first time shooting in
- 23:19Speaker 4: the seventies, dude, in front.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Of my brother.
- 23:21Speaker 5: You were folks.
- 23:22Speaker 2: My brother and my brother checked us out.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Me and my brother were playing around and for the
- 23:27Speaker 4: first time ever in front of him, I'm about to
- 23:30Speaker 4: shoot like a seventy five or seventy four, which is
- 23:33Speaker 4: fucking big, big time, right, And we're sitting in the
- 23:37Speaker 4: golf cart and it's the last shot to the green.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I'm pretty close.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I'm like, you know, maybe one hundred and twenty yards out,
- 23:46Speaker 4: so it's a I'm a gap wedge out right, and
- 23:48Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm about to fucking destroy it.
- 23:50Speaker 1: That's my nickname, and you edge.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I'm about to fucking destroy this shit, right, And.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I hear as I'm getting out the cart, So I
- 24:01Speaker 4: jumped back into the cart. My brother looks up and goes,
- 24:05Speaker 4: oh shit and grabs me like in an embrace to
- 24:08Speaker 4: block me, to help me, and that shit fucking millennium
- 24:11Speaker 4: falcons through a tree, through trees and everything and catches
- 24:16Speaker 4: me right in the rib cage bomb.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I scream like you know, I screamed.
- 24:22Speaker 4: It's real loud, right, and I'm like, oh shit, I
- 24:24Speaker 4: lift up my shirt and it's like a paintball. Well,
- 24:26Speaker 4: you know, you have to get shot with a paintball,
- 24:28Speaker 4: and that shit fucking you had purple and fucking all
- 24:30Speaker 4: that shit.
- 24:30Speaker 2: And I look at the guy on.
- 24:32Speaker 4: The te He's like, oh my god, are you fucking
- 24:34Speaker 4: all right?
- 24:34Speaker 2: And I'm like, I'm good, I'm good. I'm about to
- 24:37Speaker 2: shoot this seventy five.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Rusted them up, and I fucking cracked the ball onto
- 24:43Speaker 4: the green and I shoot a seventy four because I
- 24:46Speaker 4: got the birdie at the end.
- 24:50Speaker 6: What I'm talking about, I'm talking about.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 24:54Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. All right, Well, Preston,
- 25:04Speaker 1: we wanted to have you on because you are starring
- 25:07Speaker 1: as Javert and Layman's Rob and it is so good.
- 25:11Speaker 1: They're in La now, but if you're head where Vegas.
- 25:15Speaker 8: Vegas next, then we're back in the area in Costa Mesa.
- 25:19Speaker 5: So if you miss us here, take a longer drive.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I thought we could have.
- 25:23Speaker 2: You a little about where are you at in Vegas?
- 25:27Speaker 1: The I don't know, but not at the casino street.
- 25:31Speaker 5: They go to a real like a big Theater on
- 25:33Speaker 5: Fulton Street.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Oh that's Oh you're in downtown Banks, Old School Vegas.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it is it. Reynolds Hall, Reynolds Hall at the
- 25:40Speaker 1: Smith Center.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Yes, the Smith Center. That's it. Thank you.
- 25:42Speaker 1: There you go see it. I went to see it,
- 25:44Speaker 1: My mom went to see it. Bill went to see it.
- 25:47Speaker 1: We just had the most amazing time. You're so incredible,
- 25:50Speaker 1: And I thought we could talk a little bit because
- 25:52Speaker 1: we like to have people on that do things and
- 25:56Speaker 1: explain things that you know, most of our audience obviously
- 25:59Speaker 1: isn't an entertained we could thought we could talk about
- 26:01Speaker 1: what it's like to be on a tour of a show, like,
- 26:05Speaker 1: tell us a little about just start with For those
- 26:07Speaker 1: who don't know, I'll state the obvious. It's a Broadway
- 26:10Speaker 1: show that goes on the road and goes to cities
- 26:14Speaker 1: all around the country or the world. But Preston is
- 26:16Speaker 1: currently on the North American tour. So tell us about
- 26:20Speaker 1: like what it's like you you tell us about the
- 26:23Speaker 1: tour itself.
- 26:23Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, it's there are obviously different markets in
- 26:27Speaker 8: different cities that we play, so we have you know,
- 26:30Speaker 8: I mean, the show is booked for three years right
- 26:33Speaker 8: now and We obviously play different cities, larger markets all
- 26:37Speaker 8: over the country, and oftentimes we sit down for a
- 26:40Speaker 8: long time.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Sometimes we sit down for a week. Luckily we're in
- 26:43Speaker 5: LA for six weeks.
- 26:44Speaker 3: And what determines that the size of the city, how
- 26:48Speaker 3: much the tickets typically sell for a show.
- 26:51Speaker 8: Yeah, exactly, yeah, they I mean, all of the way
- 26:54Speaker 8: they run the market. It's it's incredible the way they
- 26:57Speaker 8: can predict all of us and having all these hit
- 26:59Speaker 8: shoes has come through and they can say lems will
- 27:01Speaker 8: sell seventy eight percent. Here, if we do a week,
- 27:04Speaker 8: we do two weeks, it'll sell sixty two. So so
- 27:07Speaker 8: we you know, it's it's it's great because we get
- 27:10Speaker 8: to see all kinds of different cities and different you know, markets,
- 27:13Speaker 8: and blue collar people, white collar people come into the show.
- 27:16Speaker 8: And still it's such a poignant story that I think,
- 27:19Speaker 8: you know right now, it's it's.
- 27:21Speaker 1: What if I don't have a collar? Am I allowed.
- 27:24Speaker 2: A welcome?
- 27:27Speaker 5: Wait?
- 27:27Speaker 1: Now talk about it. Just get down the nuts and bolts.
- 27:30Speaker 1: How many there's a big show, it's a big cast,
- 27:33Speaker 1: is a big orchestra? How does this thing move? How
- 27:37Speaker 1: long does it take to set up in the theater?
- 27:39Speaker 1: Talk us through the logistics of the actual tour.
- 27:41Speaker 8: So there are about ninety two company members and that's orchestra, crew,
- 27:46Speaker 8: cast and management. And then we packed the show up
- 27:50Speaker 8: into thirteen semi trucks, so it takes about a day
- 27:54Speaker 8: and a half for the show to come down. On
- 27:56Speaker 8: a Sunday night, they packed the show up overnight, drive
- 28:00Speaker 8: it to the next city, and our crew is up
- 28:02Speaker 8: all night long and they get us ready for a
- 28:04Speaker 8: sound check on a Tuesday in a new city and
- 28:06Speaker 8: often incredible.
- 28:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's amazing, I mean they they.
- 28:09Speaker 1: So you could go slow. So you do a Sunday matinee, yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and an evening often and an evening Sunday, and the
- 28:16Speaker 1: crew does a night shift where they take it all
- 28:19Speaker 1: apart and pack it into the trucks. How long does
- 28:21Speaker 1: that take?
- 28:22Speaker 8: About fourteen to sixteen hours, depending on the space, because
- 28:25Speaker 8: every theater is different, some are small, some are big.
- 28:27Speaker 8: We have room to you know, negotiate things differently.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Then they travel, assuming assuming Monday night, and then they
- 28:37Speaker 1: spend all day Tuesday setting it up and you're ready
- 28:41Speaker 1: to do a sound check Tuesday, and then you do
- 28:44Speaker 1: a Tuesday show that is unfunny that's crazy.
- 28:47Speaker 5: It's amazing.
- 28:47Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Hold on, the theaters are are different and stuff like that. Yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 4: there's not one theater is the same. How does that
- 28:55Speaker 4: work out? Yeah, I mean I know that, I know that.
- 28:59Speaker 4: It's still well, you're on a stage. You're never in
- 29:02Speaker 4: the round, right, but right, you know what I mean?
- 29:04Speaker 5: Yeah, every space.
- 29:06Speaker 8: So our our proscenium is the exact same every theater
- 29:09Speaker 8: we go to, But it's the backstage that has to
- 29:11Speaker 8: be so incredibly choreographed to so people literally don't get
- 29:15Speaker 8: hurt and and we're able to make the show run
- 29:18Speaker 8: as seems seamlessly as it does because it's i mean,
- 29:21Speaker 8: the design is incredible and the way things just seamlessly
- 29:24Speaker 8: move on and off stage is incredible. So, like the
- 29:28Speaker 8: Kennedy Center we played in DC is a huge, huge
- 29:32Speaker 8: space backstage, so it's it's for our crew, it's a
- 29:35Speaker 8: dream because they don't have to finagle and negotiate all
- 29:38Speaker 8: that stuff. But like we played the Fifth Avenue in Seattle,
- 29:42Speaker 8: which is like a Broadway house. Most Broadway theaters are
- 29:45Speaker 8: incredibly small and type backstage, and you know, things are
- 29:48Speaker 8: flown above you, so you're making an entrance on stage
- 29:51Speaker 8: and you have a like a one ton set piece hanging.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Over your head.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Oh my god, like a lift.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I remember doing Bullets of Our Broadway and they had
- 29:59Speaker 1: this lift, uh not like like like a mini forklift
- 30:04Speaker 1: that they with a bucket they would use to change
- 30:06Speaker 1: the lights. But yeah, and they So what happened is
- 30:10Speaker 1: there's no room in the wings backstage, so they would
- 30:12Speaker 1: put chain hooks to these things and then what they
- 30:16Speaker 1: call fly, which is moving it up to the sky.
- 30:19Speaker 1: And you, if you're backstage, you're just doing your thing,
- 30:21Speaker 1: you look up and just above your head is something
- 30:23Speaker 1: that would crush you and kill you in a millisecond.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And I went backstages Unti lay Minuz after to see
- 30:30Speaker 1: Preston and all of these beautiful set pieces that are
- 30:33Speaker 1: huge and heavy and a bit in the show are
- 30:35Speaker 1: just dangling above your head in the wings because there's
- 30:38Speaker 1: nowhere to put them. So they the crew moves them
- 30:40Speaker 1: off and then and then pulls them up to the
- 30:43Speaker 1: above your head.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that's crazy, it's all that'd be so distracting, Yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 4: it is.
- 30:49Speaker 8: Well, yeah, that's the thing about doing what we do,
- 30:51Speaker 8: you know, there's so many factors, you know, it's it's Uh,
- 30:55Speaker 8: the orchestra.
- 30:56Speaker 5: The sound is different every night.
- 30:57Speaker 8: If there are less bodies in the building, you know,
- 30:59Speaker 8: there is less reverbs.
- 31:01Speaker 5: So you know, it's just every factor plays in.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Now, explain the orchestra piece, because you told me that
- 31:05Speaker 1: for the most part, the orchestra travels with you. But
- 31:09Speaker 1: certain cities have unique union rules where their union players
- 31:14Speaker 1: have to play the show. So all of a sudden, LA,
- 31:17Speaker 1: for example, they have a whole new orchestra because the
- 31:21Speaker 1: LA Union orchestra said, we're playing the show, not others.
- 31:26Speaker 8: So you're talking about Rule twenty four, which the Musicians Union,
- 31:30Speaker 8: which you know encompasses all of Broadway and all of
- 31:34Speaker 8: the touring musicians. There are certain cities that have a
- 31:39Speaker 8: higher market of musicians, like there are so many players
- 31:43Speaker 8: in LA, so there's a rule that protects a place
- 31:46Speaker 8: where there's you know, a higher concentration of musicians, and
- 31:49Speaker 8: they they then become our local orchestra.
- 31:51Speaker 1: So wait, what's crazy is what's crazy to me is
- 31:54Speaker 1: that you well you you told me that you are
- 31:58Speaker 1: playing with your regular touring orchestra. Then then someone is
- 32:03Speaker 1: rehearsing the LA orchestra because they have the special union rule.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And then you do show up and that show. It's
- 32:10Speaker 1: like bang new orchestra. You don't even know their names.
- 32:12Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it's amazing and and like the old orchestra
- 32:16Speaker 8: like you in Portland there, Yeah they do. Literally, we'll
- 32:20Speaker 8: be in Portland in a you know a couple of months.
- 32:23Speaker 8: But yeah, it's it's uh, you know, they they're they
- 32:26Speaker 8: do what do those guys do? They're on hikes and
- 32:28Speaker 8: they're you.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Know, they're wait, they're in town, but they can't work.
- 32:31Speaker 5: No.
- 32:31Speaker 8: Some some of them came to town just because they're like,
- 32:33Speaker 8: you're in l A, I'll hang out in LA.
- 32:35Speaker 5: I've got nothing to do.
- 32:35Speaker 8: A lot of them, you know, people give up their
- 32:37Speaker 8: homes too when they go on tour. So a lot
- 32:39Speaker 8: of people that are on the road or you know,
- 32:41Speaker 8: they're like, this is what I've got. I don't know
- 32:43Speaker 8: where I'm going next, you know, with just the way
- 32:46Speaker 8: things are now.
- 32:47Speaker 5: Too, especially with the strike.
- 32:48Speaker 8: You know, there's some people in the cast that do
- 32:51Speaker 8: more film and TV usually that are you know, based
- 32:53Speaker 8: in Chicago or here, that are like, I think I
- 32:55Speaker 8: might move to you know, New York. Everyone's agent is
- 32:58Speaker 8: like getting bombarded with people wanting to do theater, right now,
- 33:02Speaker 8: which is I.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Would like to play? Give all right, when we come back,
- 33:08Speaker 1: say a quick break, We're gonna ask Preston about doing
- 33:10Speaker 1: the actual show. He does eight shows a week and
- 33:13Speaker 1: sings a very very hard part, so we want to
- 33:17Speaker 1: know all about his process. As the Thespians say, we'll
- 33:22Speaker 1: be right back after these fine words.
- 33:34Speaker 6: Whang who tang forever?
- 33:37Speaker 1: All right, welcome back to the show. Preston Boyd, you
- 33:41Speaker 1: handsome devil. So many things.
- 33:44Speaker 3: He's tall. This guy can do so many things. He's
- 33:46Speaker 3: good at golf, grated archery.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I put in a we had an archery Yeah, we
- 33:52Speaker 1: had an archery target and at in my backyard and Preston, I.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Wanted to play Robin Hood. I would.
- 34:00Speaker 1: This dude was so good. He was like trying to
- 34:02Speaker 1: make it harder for himself. He's like hiding behind ship.
- 34:05Speaker 4: When I was a kid, I went to camp. That
- 34:07Speaker 4: would have been so much fun. We could have played
- 34:09Speaker 4: fucking that ship. I went to camp, right, and archery
- 34:12Speaker 4: was my ship.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Did you do the apple thing with me?
- 34:15Speaker 1: I'm not gonna do the thing.
- 34:17Speaker 5: I don't do the apple thing.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Do you have a composite boat or do you have
- 34:20Speaker 4: like one of the bullshit bows kind of.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Have a we have a very basic bow, but Preston
- 34:24Speaker 1: doesn't care. He like he does some fucking robinhood ship.
- 34:27Speaker 1: He was getting so bored with hitting bullseyes that he
- 34:30Speaker 1: was like, let me try if I jump off here
- 34:31Speaker 1: and shoot running love it. Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 3: He was like up on the deck, standing on the deck,
- 34:39Speaker 3: like firing at it, like lego chat.
- 34:42Speaker 4: He's like, hey, do me a favor, A favor I
- 34:44Speaker 4: want to hit a move and target run with that thing.
- 34:47Speaker 1: He's an doorsman. He's an outdoorsman. He's good at fishing.
- 34:50Speaker 1: He can tap.
- 34:51Speaker 4: One of the first time but I've never met him,
- 34:54Speaker 4: well not the first time, but one of the first
- 34:55Speaker 4: time we ever really hung out.
- 34:57Speaker 2: He was planning a camping trip.
- 35:00Speaker 1: While he loves the camp, loves loves a good camp,
- 35:03Speaker 1: Harry camp.
- 35:04Speaker 5: He can cook one of cast iron doll That's my favorite.
- 35:08Speaker 8: You know what, I as I've gotten older, I really
- 35:10Speaker 8: enjoy car camping because you can literally bring a kitchen
- 35:13Speaker 8: in your trunk and you can and I love the
- 35:16Speaker 8: like open fire cooking things fun.
- 35:17Speaker 2: You know.
- 35:18Speaker 5: One of the best thing is taking a squash and a.
- 35:20Speaker 8: Cork screw and just screwing a bunch of holes in
- 35:22Speaker 8: a squash, putting it in the ashes, and you crack
- 35:25Speaker 8: that shit open, open it up.
- 35:27Speaker 5: Oh it's smoky, it's good. I'm gonna come for you all.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I'm never gonna do that, but listen, I look forward
- 35:33Speaker 1: to going. Preston is the perfect person to go camping
- 35:36Speaker 1: with because he knows all the ship. When you're like,
- 35:40Speaker 1: how does this tent go together, He's like, is that
- 35:42Speaker 1: the R two four nine? Er a second?
- 35:46Speaker 5: That corner out?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he's that guy.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that. That's what I need, you know,
- 35:50Speaker 2: that's what we all.
- 35:51Speaker 5: It's what we all need.
- 35:52Speaker 2: But do you know when the.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Problem is when you start cooking ship them bears be
- 35:55Speaker 4: smelling it.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Come on, well you out of so much fear, dude,
- 35:58Speaker 1: everything we mentioned, you're like, no.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I saw movies as a kid. That was the mistake
- 36:03Speaker 2: and I'm trying not to do it with my kid.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And I made the all these movies. Listen, you do movies.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Listen.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Do you know why they make movies, Dano to desensitize you.
- 36:13Speaker 2: So now now when the aliens come.
- 36:17Speaker 3: And ship like that, the movies that this is some
- 36:22Speaker 3: conspiracy ship. Donald believes that bears and sharks banded together
- 36:26Speaker 3: to make films to desensitized human beings.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Say they become good.
- 36:31Speaker 4: You see the motherfucker eaten by a bear. Don't use
- 36:35Speaker 4: desensitize and you'll take out you know what you do?
- 36:38Speaker 4: You take out your phone now and your video and
- 36:40Speaker 4: you shoot that ship.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I said, I just.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Wanting to record to reflect that every time I bring
- 36:44Speaker 3: something up, You're like, no sharks, no bears.
- 36:50Speaker 5: You have a fear of sharp teeth.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 2: I have a fear of getting eaten by another animal.
- 36:55Speaker 1: All right, all right, listen, tell us about doing eight shows.
- 36:58Speaker 4: He doesn't though, right like Super One eight shows a week.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Tell us about doing eight shows a week. For those
- 37:04Speaker 1: who don't know the show, it's a it's a very
- 37:06Speaker 1: hard part. He plays Javert, who's the cop who's chasing
- 37:10Speaker 1: Jean Valjean. What is that like? Do you have to
- 37:12Speaker 1: as a singer who's singing such a big part, Do
- 37:14Speaker 1: you have to do anything special for your voice?
- 37:16Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 37:18Speaker 8: Excuse me, yes, I've trained so long and to still
- 37:23Speaker 8: be taking voice lessons right now. It is so important
- 37:25Speaker 8: with a role like this to maintain it and simply
- 37:28Speaker 8: it's rest and water and I have a baby now,
- 37:31Speaker 8: so the rest is a bit more unpredictable, so I
- 37:34Speaker 8: have to kind of take it when I can get
- 37:36Speaker 8: it and and like stack up rest for two three
- 37:39Speaker 8: days ahead.
- 37:40Speaker 1: What about vocal warm ups? Do you do? You know
- 37:42Speaker 1: you see all these famous singers, they have a whole routine.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Do you do that or are you lazy about them?
- 37:46Speaker 8: No? No, I I was cocky in the beginning with it,
- 37:51Speaker 8: like I was like, this is a role I can
- 37:53Speaker 8: sing in my sleep, and I could for the first
- 37:55Speaker 8: three four months, and then it became much more difficult,
- 37:59Speaker 8: and I think not having the rest that I was
- 38:01Speaker 8: getting initially made a big difference. So you know, different
- 38:04Speaker 8: like lip trilling and straw work, vocal function, which is
- 38:09Speaker 8: literally like vocal cord resistance, so it's strength training for
- 38:13Speaker 8: your vocal cords.
- 38:14Speaker 5: This is boring, but.
- 38:17Speaker 1: The reason we had you on was to tell us
- 38:19Speaker 1: something we don't know. We don't want to hear about
- 38:21Speaker 1: golf and weed Donald covers that, and we want to
- 38:24Speaker 1: know about vocal cord strengthen.
- 38:26Speaker 8: Yeah, so yeah, it's like, you know, you have to
- 38:28Speaker 8: think about us being athletes vocally because I also the
- 38:35Speaker 8: character I play is you know, I have to really
- 38:37Speaker 8: dig deep and get super dramatic with it. So I'm
- 38:40Speaker 8: also yelling and screaming a bit, and I lose my
- 38:44Speaker 8: mind every evening and spoiler alert, I take my life.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Oh Jesus, Yeah, guys, I'm sorry. These are some lame is.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Spoilers, spoilers, I have a question.
- 38:55Speaker 1: If you haven't seen limb Is by now, we're allowed
- 38:57Speaker 1: to spoil it. Yes, One thing I always thought was
- 38:59Speaker 1: funny about the always like Javert is the main cop everywhere,
- 39:02Speaker 1: like no matter where they go. Yeah, like the story
- 39:05Speaker 1: takes place, The story takes place in so many places.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Why is Javert the only head cop in the whole
- 39:11Speaker 1: fucking show.
- 39:12Speaker 5: I don't think we need to ask these questions. No,
- 39:15Speaker 5: I think I think wherever.
- 39:17Speaker 1: They go, it's like who's in charge?
- 39:18Speaker 8: It's the show is perfect, don't question it.
- 39:21Speaker 5: No, it's I feel like.
- 39:24Speaker 8: You know, I he you know, he's he's four places
- 39:28Speaker 8: at a time.
- 39:28Speaker 5: Oh, look at the dog.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Sorry, it's my dog. I'm trying to get out of
- 39:32Speaker 1: answering this. You didn't write it, It's okay.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I just want to know about the anger.
- 39:36Speaker 1: What do you Hugo wrote it?
- 39:37Speaker 2: So it's you don't have to tell us what you're
- 39:39Speaker 2: tapping in.
- 39:39Speaker 4: You don't have to tell us what you're tapping into
- 39:41Speaker 4: or anything like that, but how do you know? What
- 39:43Speaker 4: do you how are you building that up? And is
- 39:45Speaker 4: it and is it exhausting? I mean, I imagine eight
- 39:48Speaker 4: shows a week and having to be angry and sing
- 39:51Speaker 4: seems very exhausting to me.
- 39:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it's uh, yeah, it's I.
- 39:57Speaker 8: I do try to mentally go there every night, and
- 40:00Speaker 8: and I usually always have someone there that I want to,
- 40:02Speaker 8: you know, do my absolute best for and to go
- 40:05Speaker 8: to that dark place, and I you know, I try to.
- 40:08Speaker 5: I'm not going all Daniel day Lewis with.
- 40:09Speaker 8: It, but like you know, it's it's And then also
- 40:13Speaker 8: you know, I'm I'm clocking the orchestra. I'm stepping up
- 40:16Speaker 8: onto a bridge. I'm a size twelve and this bridge
- 40:18Speaker 8: is like, you know, a size eleven and a half.
- 40:20Speaker 8: So I'm trying to like stand up on this thing
- 40:23Speaker 8: where I have this rig coming in to connect to
- 40:24Speaker 8: me to do this effect for my death and everything.
- 40:27Speaker 8: So it's there's a lot of mental capacity that comes
- 40:30Speaker 8: into play there. But it's enjoyable because I do love
- 40:33Speaker 8: to go there and I love to get. I love to,
- 40:36Speaker 8: you know, really like scare people because I kind of
- 40:39Speaker 8: scare myself too, and you have to tap into real
- 40:41Speaker 8: shit for that obviously.
- 40:42Speaker 1: But you know, and this is both of his big songs.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Just bring the house down. I mean, the audience goes
- 40:50Speaker 1: fucking crazy for you, and I'm so proud of you
- 40:52Speaker 1: when I when I see it. Yes, Daniel, I have.
- 40:55Speaker 3: A question for President. That's okay. You were talking about
- 40:58Speaker 3: vocal exercises, and I know you said this is ring,
- 41:00Speaker 3: but at the same time, it's something that I think
- 41:01Speaker 3: is very relevant to not just us on the phone call,
- 41:03Speaker 3: but a lot of people that listen to the show.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Not a phone call, this is this is a zoom.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Sorry us on the zoom called my apologies, Donald, but
- 41:11Speaker 3: for everybody who is on zoom calls frequently, you know,
- 41:13Speaker 3: we are communicating more than ever in a way where
- 41:15Speaker 3: you know, we need to talk more clearly and more crisply.
- 41:18Speaker 3: And so with that, I'm straining my voice more. My
- 41:21Speaker 3: fiance is straining her voice more. Do you have any
- 41:23Speaker 3: advice for just very simple vocal warm ups that could
- 41:27Speaker 3: be good for anybody who is working from home doing
- 41:29Speaker 3: voice calls and stuff like that and just you know,
- 41:31Speaker 3: to better take care of your vocal courts.
- 41:33Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a great question.
- 41:35Speaker 8: I feel like I feel like a lot of times
- 41:37Speaker 8: we just are lazy with the way we speak to you.
- 41:43Speaker 5: I didn't say you most of us.
- 41:45Speaker 2: You're like, come on, what are you talking? A pillow?
- 41:49Speaker 1: Hold on, bro, your posture is perfect. Could see how
- 41:54Speaker 1: Donald's protesting he's lying on a bed.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Local health posture.
- 42:00Speaker 8: No, I feel like, you know, simply humming, like first
- 42:04Speaker 8: thing in the morning, because oftentimes you wake up and
- 42:07Speaker 8: you you know, you kind of you know, chat out
- 42:10Speaker 8: your plans with your partner or whatever, and and you're
- 42:13Speaker 8: you're not vocally warmed up, so you're already kind of
- 42:15Speaker 8: setting yourself.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Up for the day. You know. It's a yeah, in
- 42:19Speaker 5: a in a poor way.
- 42:20Speaker 8: So I think humming, even just putting on some music
- 42:24Speaker 8: in the morning and singing lightly to it, just to
- 42:27Speaker 8: kind of like wake your voice up. Because when you
- 42:29Speaker 8: do speak to people specifically, it's, uh, you're you're it's
- 42:33Speaker 8: a performative way to to speak to someone. You know,
- 42:36Speaker 8: you're you're trying to communicate, and when you're communicating, you
- 42:39Speaker 8: maybe putting in a lot of little extra work than
- 42:41Speaker 8: you normally just be speaking.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I would also do little I would do little what
- 42:44Speaker 1: do you call them? Things that are the things where
- 42:46Speaker 1: you speak fast. When I was a little, tongue twisters,
- 42:49Speaker 1: I would do those, Like if I have a big audition,
- 42:51Speaker 1: I would always do tongue twisters.
- 42:54Speaker 9: The lips, the tongue lips, the typic the tongue, the lips,
- 42:56Speaker 9: the typically boat toy boat, toy boat, toy boat toy
- 42:59Speaker 9: to yo, listen, you know what that's you just said.
- 43:04Speaker 4: Sounds like so much fun if you do have time,
- 43:07Speaker 4: even if you're not musical.
- 43:09Speaker 2: M hm.
- 43:10Speaker 4: And yeah, that's such a great fucking way to wake
- 43:13Speaker 4: up with your family. That's hummed this morning at breakfast
- 43:19Speaker 4: and you hum song. When I was a kid, we
- 43:21Speaker 4: used to sing a lot as a family. Like my mom,
- 43:24Speaker 4: my dad, and my brothers. We all would sing together,
- 43:28Speaker 4: not for anyone, but just for each other. Right, So,
- 43:30Speaker 4: like my dad would be like, you know you saw
- 43:34Speaker 4: vacation where they're in the car and they're singing in
- 43:36Speaker 4: the wall. Well, yeah, we would spontaneously do that, you know,
- 43:41Speaker 4: wherever we were, you know what I mean.
- 43:43Speaker 2: That was the type of family we were.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Another good warm up song is this one what you're
- 43:48Speaker 3: trying to get into one day or show what you're
- 43:51Speaker 3: trying to do.
- 43:52Speaker 1: I'm disagree with you on that.
- 43:55Speaker 4: I disagree with you on that one because you're straining
- 43:57Speaker 4: right there.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Can you give me notes on this? I'm gonna sing
- 44:01Speaker 1: it live in front of a professional Broadway singer. Give
- 44:05Speaker 1: me some notes on me singing this ready? I mean
- 44:08Speaker 1: maybe mash My and m slips.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Care what you're trying to get into a day shoon
- 44:15Speaker 3: or what you're trying to.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Do, give any thoughts on that?
- 44:18Speaker 5: I think you want to open up more on the top, more.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Like whatt you? You know? Let me bring down the mic,
- 44:24Speaker 1: but do that for real?
- 44:25Speaker 5: All right?
- 44:26Speaker 8: What you so?
- 44:27Speaker 1: Let's try what you I can't do it. Just you
- 44:30Speaker 1: sing what you're trying to get into a day shoe.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Here's a melody one more time. I'm going to give
- 44:33Speaker 1: you the melody A day of shune, A day shoe, Yeah,
- 44:36Speaker 1: day o shoe hot, dayo shoon. I'm gonna give you
- 44:39Speaker 1: the melody one more time so you can sing it
- 44:41Speaker 1: in your in your amazing voice.
- 44:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 44:43Speaker 3: What you're trying to get into a day of shoe?
- 44:47Speaker 1: What you're trying to.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Do what you're trying to do in and dance a shoe.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Perfect? I butchered it, but I think, oh my god,
- 45:03Speaker 1: you gotta deal over time. What that was? Amazing? Weed?
- 45:06Speaker 1: Not even once? Hi, guys, the.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Words are you can't say it to me?
- 45:12Speaker 1: I finally have the other stony in my life. No, listen,
- 45:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna write the words out for you because we
- 45:18Speaker 1: need this sounding.
- 45:21Speaker 3: What you're trying to get into a day of shoon,
- 45:24Speaker 3: what you're what you're to do?
- 45:26Speaker 5: You don't even trying to do.
- 45:28Speaker 1: What you're trying to get into a day of shune.
- 45:30Speaker 5: What you're trying, what you're.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Trying to do?
- 45:32Speaker 1: What your to do?
- 45:33Speaker 2: Like what you trying to do? You define it like
- 45:36Speaker 2: what you're trying to get into? Is what you're trying.
- 45:38Speaker 1: It's Donald's expression for saying, like what are you? What
- 45:40Speaker 1: are you doing tonight? What do you want to do?
- 45:41Speaker 6: What you trying to do?
- 45:42Speaker 3: It's some titles are this is Donald Faison, What you're
- 45:45Speaker 3: trying to do?
- 45:46Speaker 1: What you want to go to? The gentleman's establishment, What
- 45:49Speaker 1: you're trying to do? Get in a day?
- 45:51Speaker 5: Just wait?
- 45:52Speaker 2: What shoe?
- 45:54Speaker 5: And what you're trying to do?
- 45:56Speaker 4: What you're trying to get into a day of shoe.
- 46:00Speaker 2: What you're trying to do.
- 46:03Speaker 5: What you try to get in?
- 46:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, never mind, never mind, I get it.
- 46:08Speaker 1: I'll cut it together.
- 46:09Speaker 5: I always need two weeks to learn anything.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't have two weeks. We don't have two weeks.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Let's go back to you giving me notes on mine. Okay,
- 46:20Speaker 1: what you're trying to get into, what you're sure?
- 46:23Speaker 2: I think what you're trying in the beginning, I think
- 46:25Speaker 2: I'm not doing.
- 46:26Speaker 1: This eight shows a week. I'm just singing it once.
- 46:29Speaker 2: You try to get into a.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Day as shoe shoe? What you're trying to do?
- 46:36Speaker 2: There we go under.
- 46:42Speaker 5: I think you need to start a little lighter with it.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I'm going to start lighter with it and then.
- 46:45Speaker 8: Finish big, so you know, set it up. You don't
- 46:48Speaker 8: want to blow them out in the beginning.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I love to blow it out in the beginning. That's good.
- 46:54Speaker 1: That's good. Do you want to give us a little
- 46:57Speaker 1: jaenvit sample? Just because the audience I can sing on this.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Can you can just give a little bit of something
- 47:02Speaker 4: like you got about twenty seconds of singing.
- 47:05Speaker 1: No, no, we got leeway. I can sing the Jean
- 47:08Speaker 1: Valjean part if you want, I am warning you, javert.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I'm a stronger man by far. There is power in me,
- 47:17Speaker 1: yet my race is not yet worn.
- 47:20Speaker 5: He's worked on that a lot, and it's very good.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I know the whole show by heart.
- 47:24Speaker 8: He can't think he could. I think he could take
- 47:26Speaker 8: the card out of the pantages and do it.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I can't, I can't.
- 47:30Speaker 1: I got one. How does it go place? Now? That's
- 47:33Speaker 1: the wrong show.
- 47:34Speaker 5: Oh ah, you're thinking. I dream the dream, Preston.
- 47:37Speaker 2: I dream the dream and days gone by? Oh I
- 47:41Speaker 2: got one for you. Coof rock, you take the watch. Yeah,
- 47:45Speaker 2: they may attack before it's light. Right, everybody, keep the faith.
- 47:51Speaker 2: What is it for a certain Nazzi? We are not alone?
- 47:57Speaker 2: The people too must raze Marius drink with me, yea.
- 48:05Speaker 5: By the show right here.
- 48:08Speaker 10: By that, Let the wine why friendship ever dry?
- 48:19Speaker 5: Let the wine of friendship never dry. Here's to them,
- 48:25Speaker 5: and he's to you.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Oh funck, there we go or something I got I.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Die before I wake.
- 48:33Speaker 5: They were gonna do the whole show start.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Whenever Preston comes over, I just start singing lines from
- 48:38Speaker 1: Limas Preston had a friend come over and.
- 48:41Speaker 3: All that means nothing at all, But really, you weep,
- 48:45Speaker 3: I should marry us.
- 48:46Speaker 2: This cosette is a cosette.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Would you cosette that means nothing at all? Would you
- 48:53Speaker 1: should marry us? Fall Preston had a friend come over
- 48:57Speaker 1: and he told me he played in the show and
- 48:59Speaker 1: I sand one of his lines. I was like, I
- 49:01Speaker 1: know one of your lines.
- 49:02Speaker 5: And he told a little grit to it.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Oh that was funny. Actually he's the guy who plays
- 49:06Speaker 1: the drunk guy. The drunk the granter is the character.
- 49:09Speaker 1: He plays the guy who's always drunk at the meetings
- 49:12Speaker 1: and of the students. And I said, oh, you listen,
- 49:16Speaker 1: I'm coming to the show tonight. And on your one
- 49:19Speaker 1: line that you sing, Marius, you're no longer a child,
- 49:23Speaker 1: I didn't say, what's going on? You talk of bay?
- 49:27Speaker 1: He's making fun of Marius for not being like focused
- 49:30Speaker 1: and he goes, you talk.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Of battles to be one and here it comes like,
- 49:34Speaker 3: don Juan, it's better than it all, parah.
- 49:38Speaker 1: And he goes, oh, you're putting a little gravel on it.
- 49:40Speaker 1: I goes to me a favor tonight show, a tonight's show.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I want you to put that same gravel on it,
- 49:47Speaker 1: and he's laughing and everything. I'm like, no, no, just just like,
- 49:49Speaker 1: just try it. You might like it, you might want
- 49:51Speaker 1: to commit to it. So I forget about it. I
- 49:53Speaker 1: certainly don't think he's going to do it. We go
- 49:55Speaker 1: to the show that night. This dude threw some stoozy
- 49:58Speaker 1: on tis kind of shout out to Carl Adams for
- 50:06Speaker 1: I don't know if he's stuck with that. Preston has he.
- 50:08Speaker 5: Has He's sticking to it.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Oh, he's sticking to it. Well there, goody. He was like,
- 50:12Speaker 1: you know, you go see the show and you that line.
- 50:14Speaker 2: That Garden State movie, I will take the note.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Well, listen, listen.
- 50:20Speaker 2: He liked it.
- 50:21Speaker 1: It worked. Co director lem is now, well, I just
- 50:23Speaker 1: liked if you go see the show, the touring grammy.
- 50:26Speaker 2: He does have a grammy.
- 50:27Speaker 1: If you go see the show, the Touring Company of
- 50:29Speaker 1: Lama is coming to a senior you and you hear
- 50:31Speaker 1: that line that little extra gravel is because of me.
- 50:35Speaker 2: I love it.
- 50:37Speaker 1: All right, we'll wrap up with what should we wrap
- 50:39Speaker 1: up with? Preston? Is there anything you want to talk about?
- 50:41Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be about the show. It could
- 50:42Speaker 1: be about your life. It could be about being a
- 50:44Speaker 1: new father.
- 50:45Speaker 5: Being a new father's incredible.
- 50:47Speaker 8: Touring with a new baby and a wife has been
- 50:49Speaker 8: quite a challenge.
- 50:50Speaker 2: But wait and put the wife and kid with you.
- 50:52Speaker 1: They're they're out, they're here.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I love.
- 50:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Are they going to do They're not doing the whole
- 50:59Speaker 4: tour obviously, No.
- 51:00Speaker 8: No, they're just coming out, you know, like when we're
- 51:02Speaker 8: here for six weeks. So they decided to come out
- 51:05Speaker 8: for this. And you know, just being in la Is
- 51:07Speaker 8: feels like being home a bit. So it's it's been
- 51:10Speaker 8: nice to you know, hit cities where we have friends
- 51:12Speaker 8: and family in and yeah, and he gets.
- 51:14Speaker 1: To come over my house in cold plunge and he
- 51:16Speaker 1: follows the rules. He comes over and says me before plunging,
- 51:20Speaker 1: and he today and from now I'm bringing on towel.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'm not a fuffing fold. Thanks John C.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Lastly, I wanted to bring this up to Daniel because
- 51:28Speaker 3: you know, I don't I don't smoke weed or drink,
- 51:31Speaker 3: but I still make late night stupid purchases.
- 51:34Speaker 2: And I'm very proud of you, Daniel.
- 51:36Speaker 1: I brought this, but I don't. I bought this, but
- 51:38Speaker 1: I don't even know really what it is. It's called
- 51:41Speaker 1: I thought you could explain to me what it was. Absolutely,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I thought it was one thing, but I don't know
- 51:45Speaker 1: if it's that, Donald, I feel like you'd love this.
- 51:46Speaker 1: It's called the Analog Pocket, yes, and it looks like
- 51:49Speaker 1: a like a Matt Black.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Game Boy, right, And I just thought I was going
- 51:55Speaker 3: to be able to play like old school.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Game Boy games on it, but I can't see. But
- 51:59Speaker 1: it didn't come with any adapter, and I can't seem
- 52:02Speaker 1: to what do I do and what can I do
- 52:03Speaker 1: with this thing?
- 52:04Speaker 3: You literally put old game Boy cartridges in They fit
- 52:10Speaker 3: in there, so it is meant to fit game Boy,
- 52:13Speaker 3: game Boy Advance. To game stats, you have to actually
- 52:16Speaker 3: go to games cartridges. But what it does is it
- 52:18Speaker 3: allows it to be a kind of like pan console
- 52:21Speaker 3: controller for many different kinds of handhelds. Yeah, so, Daniel,
- 52:24Speaker 3: how many different systems will this little thing play? I'm
- 52:28Speaker 3: pretty sure it is, like because it has different adapters totally. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:33Speaker 3: so I think it's game Boy Advanced, regular game Boy.
- 52:36Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it works with almost any kind of
- 52:40Speaker 3: game Boy, game Boy Color, game Boy Advance.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Let's see here.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Pocket works with cartridge adapters for other handheld systems too,
- 52:48Speaker 3: like game gear, Neo Geo, Pocket, Color, Atari links and more.
- 52:52Speaker 1: So it is. Yeah. Yeah, so so do I need
- 52:56Speaker 1: at Let me ask you a question. If I buy
- 52:58Speaker 1: a game Boy cartridge, yes, can I just stick it
- 53:01Speaker 1: in here? Do I need Nope? You just stick it
- 53:03Speaker 1: right in. Oh, I gotta go on eBay right now, y'all.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Go to gamestaff too.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, but I was gonna go. I was coming on.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I bet you for a little bit of money. If
- 53:13Speaker 3: you want to adventure it out into the valley. There's
- 53:16Speaker 3: a place, I believe it's called game Dude, and they
- 53:18Speaker 3: sell vintage cartridges and stuff like that, and they have
- 53:22Speaker 3: they buy back.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Yeah. So if you want this, do I need adapters
- 53:25Speaker 1: or anything?
- 53:26Speaker 3: Just stick in here? So so on its because all
- 53:28Speaker 3: those cartridges are different. They're slightly different. Yes, but right
- 53:31Speaker 3: it works with any let's see game Boy, game Boy Color,
- 53:34Speaker 3: game Boy Advance works right off the bat.
- 53:36Speaker 1: You do need to end.
- 53:38Speaker 3: No, Supernintendo is we're talking handheld consoles.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Sucks. That sucks.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Well that's what it's trying to emulate. Well, it's pretty cool.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I mean I'm not doing an ad for it. I
- 53:49Speaker 1: just bought it late night thinking I could it was
- 53:51Speaker 1: cool and I needed Daniel to explain it to me.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Ali pocket is an awesome device. It's really really cool.
- 53:58Speaker 1: It's popular, huh.
- 53:59Speaker 3: I mean amongst the monkst you know, what's some good.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Game Boy games that I should buy?
- 54:03Speaker 5: What do you guys love which Zelda was on the
- 54:05Speaker 5: Game Boy?
- 54:06Speaker 3: That's a good one, o g Zelda's I mean, if
- 54:08Speaker 3: you haven't played any of the original three Pokemons, like
- 54:12Speaker 3: you know, Red Blue and Gold or Red Blue and Yellow.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Or classics Super Mario.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Absolutely when when the Game Boy came out, the one
- 54:20Speaker 4: that was the dopest was the freaking Super Mario Brothers.
- 54:23Speaker 4: The Mario Brothers stuff is always great on game Boy.
- 54:27Speaker 2: And then that's why that's that was the best to me.
- 54:30Speaker 1: All Right, well, thank you for your review. That's our
- 54:33Speaker 1: show everyone. I want to thank Preston Boyd. Go see
- 54:36Speaker 1: name is it's going. You can obviously google lame is
- 54:39Speaker 1: Robbed North American Tour and I'm sure it'll lead you
- 54:42Speaker 1: to where you can buy tickets. Do you know where
- 54:45Speaker 1: you're going after You're going to Vegas?
- 54:46Speaker 5: And then where you're going Mason.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Will your will your wife allow you to uh go
- 54:53Speaker 1: to a gentleman's club in Vegas.
- 54:55Speaker 5: Come on, bro, what's a gentleman's club? Come on?
- 54:58Speaker 8: What is it?
- 54:59Speaker 2: What is John to accomplished right now?
- 55:01Speaker 1: I'm just curious if when he's in Vegas, if he
- 55:04Speaker 1: and the other members of the revolution are allowed to
- 55:06Speaker 1: go to the club.
- 55:09Speaker 5: I mean, they're all about to die anyway, they might
- 55:10Speaker 5: as well live it up.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Jean Valjean? Will he be getting a lap dance?
- 55:15Speaker 2: See, you're going crazy, man.
- 55:17Speaker 4: You should ask questions about like what's your poker and
- 55:20Speaker 4: stuff like that, things that aren't going to get him
- 55:21Speaker 4: in trouble and stuff. You asked him this motherfucker, which
- 55:25Speaker 4: where you're.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Going to get I'm you know what, I'm asking him.
- 55:28Speaker 3: What you're trying to get into?
- 55:31Speaker 1: What you're trying to do?
- 55:33Speaker 4: You have to ask him in a different way because
- 55:35Speaker 4: I don't think he's going to get it.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he certainly is gonna be able to repeat it.
- 55:39Speaker 1: All right.
- 55:44Speaker 3: What you're trying to do here?
- 55:46Speaker 5: It is?
- 55:49Speaker 1: I feel like we found his kryptonite and broke him.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I don't have a show tonight, all right.
- 55:57Speaker 1: I love you guys. Donald counts gay stories.
- 56:02Speaker 7: That show we made about a bunch of talks and
