- 0:18Join Kim every morning from one of her favorite happy places,
- 0:21her chicken coop, along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So today I want to talk to you
- 0:33about something that's happening actually in the chicken coop
- 0:36because it's such a great metaphor for life.
- 0:39So Marilyn Monroe has decided that she's done with the babies
- 0:44and she's not dealing with them anymore and she's told them that
- 0:47they're old enough and they're ready to go on their own.
- 0:48My opinion is they're a little too small.
- 0:50But then again, I guess I am a bit of a mother had no pun
- 0:53intended so. And what's happening, you might
- 0:56be able to hear them peeping in the background is that they are
- 0:59trying to find their place in the order.
- 1:02Now she has raised them. Marilyn has raised them within
- 1:06the group. So they are accepted by the
- 1:08group, but they are small and therefore they get picked on
- 1:12very easily. If they try to overstock, they
- 1:15won't get picked on randomly. But if they overstock their
- 1:18positioning, if they overstock certain things, they get very,
- 1:22very, very. Annihilated and put in their
- 1:25place. So when it comes time to the
- 1:28morning of them going out them getting food, doing certain
- 1:31things they chickens will like, put in their order.
- 1:36They want you to be in the right place.
- 1:38If you're not in the right order, they will certainly fix
- 1:41you and put you in the right order.
- 1:43And there's a there's a tremendous metaphor in this
- 1:47because the babies have to decide their level of confidence
- 1:51in order to show up. Now Marilyn happens to be a bird
- 1:56that's called an Americana and she's a great flyer and she's
- 2:01one of the higher ones up on the on the pecking order.
- 2:06She's considered a very much a senior type bird.
- 2:11And she picks things like, you know, she picks where she's
- 2:14going to stay in the rows of the coop.
- 2:17She's up front. And because the this is what the
- 2:20babies do, because the babies, if you heard that little
- 2:22peeping, that's the baby practicing to fly right now
- 2:25because her mother was so good. She is just trying to assume a
- 2:29position very similar to that. And it's crazy to watch because
- 2:34she she does not get that choice.
- 2:37She is not in that position, but she's trying to take it and
- 2:40she's dominant, so she keeps doing it.
- 2:42And you know what's really funny about it?
- 2:44They're actually letting her sit up front and they're not,
- 2:47They're not picking on her now. The girls that were previously
- 2:53patched out by Winnie, who was not one of the top pens is.
- 2:58She she's a different type of hen.
- 3:00She's in there. She's solid, she's cared for as
- 3:03far as the group is, but she is definitely not someone who's at
- 3:06the top of the pecking order. Now that means all those chicks
- 3:11that came out of her have learned a different demeanor.
- 3:13Marilyn's babies are very, very aggressive.
- 3:16They will choose it. The others do not have that
- 3:20aggressiveness. They try, but they get nailed.
- 3:22They get picked at and then they back off and they they'll try to
- 3:26get themselves to the front row and as soon as they.
- 3:28Do it. The other hands will pick at
- 3:29their feet and say, Nope, you don't belong here, you're not
- 3:32going to get to be here. And they move themselves out.
- 3:35And it is an absolute fascinating thing to see how
- 3:38this works because there is an order to it.
- 3:41So what does this have to do with us as human beings?
- 3:43Well, when you think about it has a lot to do with how we
- 3:48interpret, how we are brought up, how we interpret the things
- 3:52that happened to us, how we are shown things so.
- 3:56Winnie shows her babies how to be more passive.
- 3:59Marilyn shows her babies how to be more aggressive when he stays
- 4:02with her babies longer. And her babies, a result of that
- 4:06are they're not aggressive. Marilyn, she teaches them to be
- 4:10aggressive. Her babies are more aggressive.
- 4:12They choose where they want to go and they're not getting
- 4:14picked on. And as we as human beings raise
- 4:18children, we have to understand the traits we want them to be
- 4:22gifted with. And really pick and choose this.
- 4:25And we also have to go back and say if we were raised away, we
- 4:29don't like we get to go back and we get to say, OK, this was
- 4:33resourceful. This was not resourceful.
- 4:36What can I do now to shift that? What did I learn from it?
- 4:41What do I want to keep and how do I move forward with it?
- 4:44It's really kind of a cool concept when you think about it.
- 4:47Can you redo the past? No, But you can reinterpret the
- 4:50past. And that's what's so powerful
- 4:52about the human brain. We have the ability, we have
- 4:55been given the gift by the universe, by God, by spirit, to
- 4:59change our interpretation any day we want to.
- 5:03We can shift it and decide something means something
- 5:06different. And for that, that is the
- 5:10greatest gift of all, because things happen.
- 5:12They're just happened. I mean, listen, they're just two
- 5:14chickens raising their chicks in different ways by the nature of
- 5:18the breed. Americans are more aggressive by
- 5:21the nature of the breed. Winnie, who happens to be a
- 5:25coaching, is just much more passive.
- 5:28So you know, very much like dog breeds, chicken breeds are the
- 5:31same. They all have their
- 5:32personalities and for that you end up.
- 5:37Seeing them raised a certain way, but we get to reinterpret,
- 5:40just like these babies are reinterpreting it.
- 5:42And there are some Winnie's babies who are learning.
- 5:44I got to be more on point. And the two little Americana
- 5:49babies, they are on point and we'll see them grow to the top
- 5:52of the order. But we get to reinterpret as
- 5:54human beings. So think about it.
- 5:56What do you have to reinterpret? All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:59you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 6:01Bye.
