- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with her radio. Hello,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Mr Guinney, Hi, trisau Sutter. How are you great today?
- 0:09Speaker 1: And I'm really glad that my makeup actually worked because
- 0:12Speaker 1: I just got a micro needling. Um, men don't really
- 0:16Speaker 1: do that, although you probably could, but you don't need
- 0:18Speaker 1: to because you know, the aging process doesn't matter to men. Yeah,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I'm not familiar with the micro needling. Uh, but I
- 0:28Speaker 1: you know, I've seen a couple of guys on Instagram
- 0:30Speaker 1: get micro bladed once or twice when they lost their eyebrows.
- 0:33Speaker 1: That was pretty interesting. I wonder you look like the
- 0:35Speaker 1: Glam squad just rolled in. I mean, you have the
- 0:38Speaker 1: whole Glam squad at the house this morning, getting you
- 0:40Speaker 1: all prepped and ready for the big podcasts. So, you know,
- 0:51Speaker 1: I don't know if you knew this. So my wife,
- 0:53Speaker 1: my wife Kenyon, who her name is Jessica, but I
- 0:55Speaker 1: call her Kenyon. So Kenyon one of the names. When
- 0:58Speaker 1: we were having our second child, she was kicking around,
- 1:01Speaker 1: well for the first child, one of the names she
- 1:03Speaker 1: was kicking around with Colton, and I was like, and
- 1:06Speaker 1: I'm like, you can't do that. She's like, what do
- 1:08Speaker 1: you mean. I go, well, this is before Colton was
- 1:11Speaker 1: made the Bachelor. But I'm like, this guy's I'm Bachelor
- 1:14Speaker 1: in Paradise man, and he's you know, he's so the
- 1:17Speaker 1: only way I could get uh, and I really like
- 1:20Speaker 1: the name Grayson, So the only way I could get
- 1:23Speaker 1: her not to um not to necessarily go with Colton
- 1:26Speaker 1: was I had a like a pre tape to watch
- 1:28Speaker 1: for people, a magazine TV show thingy, and they wanted
- 1:32Speaker 1: me to watch this episode of Bachelor in Paradise and
- 1:35Speaker 1: Colton happened to be crying in this episode and his
- 1:39Speaker 1: little nameplate came came up underneath it, you know. So
- 1:43Speaker 1: I and she would never watch the show with me.
- 1:45Speaker 1: So I get the show like totally positioned properly, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: I go, hey, come on, you know, I just kind
- 1:48Speaker 1: of watch this with me, you know. She's like okay.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So she comes in and I hit play and she goes, oh,
- 1:54Speaker 1: who's this guy? He's he's really cute. And then he
- 1:56Speaker 1: starts crying and she's like, why is he crying? And
- 1:58Speaker 1: I don't know, and in the name thing comes up
- 2:00Speaker 1: and says Colton, and she's like, I see what you're doing.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I see you, Bob. She's like, you don't want me
- 2:06Speaker 1: to name of Coulton because he's a guy's crying. So
- 2:08Speaker 1: then so then along comes the second child, and she's like,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I want to name him Tristan. And I'm like, you know,
- 2:16Speaker 1: don't you think I'm like, first of all, it's very
- 2:19Speaker 1: close to Trista, who I adore. Whom I adore. I'm like,
- 2:23Speaker 1: but don't you think it's a little weird that every
- 2:25Speaker 1: time I turn around, you want to name our kids
- 2:27Speaker 1: after some Bachelor star. Well, you know, there are a
- 2:30Speaker 1: lot of people in the boor now, so it's really
- 2:32Speaker 1: hard to come up with the name that isn't related
- 2:34Speaker 1: to anybody on the Bachelor these days. The valid point, well,
- 2:38Speaker 1: she yeah, so we ended up choosing Blake, who I
- 2:40Speaker 1: know was a guy that somebody chose not too long ago. Daughter,
- 2:45Speaker 1: We're all connected in some weird, crazy way that's intertwined.
- 2:50Speaker 1: It's one big Okay, So today we have something really
- 2:53Speaker 1: really fun that, um I'm really excited about. We are
- 2:58Speaker 1: what are we We're calling it O G V versus
- 3:01Speaker 1: I G. But we're going to be calling some random
- 3:05Speaker 1: people from our our our phones, from our cell phones
- 3:10Speaker 1: right here. I've got mine right here. Uh, And I
- 3:13Speaker 1: know you have yours too, and so how do you
- 3:16Speaker 1: want to do it? Do you want to just um like,
- 3:20Speaker 1: scroll down and I can tell you who pops up
- 3:23Speaker 1: on mine and you can tell me who pops up
- 3:25Speaker 1: on yours and then or you want to just surprise me?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Or how do you want to do it? I gotta
- 3:30Speaker 1: be honest, I have no idea. I uh, you know,
- 3:33Speaker 1: part of me is worried about this game. No one's
- 3:37Speaker 1: getting here that I'm gonna randomly dial someone up and
- 3:41Speaker 1: if they do answer and be like, hey, you're live
- 3:43Speaker 1: on the Bob and trist To Show. I mean, what
- 3:45Speaker 1: do I you know? You're live on almost famous O
- 3:49Speaker 1: G show and they're gonna do for you? You know,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I'm on the hopper or something. So yeah, we could
- 3:56Speaker 1: run into some problems with this game, but it could
- 3:58Speaker 1: be fun. The Hopper erstwhile known as the Throne, uh,
- 4:04Speaker 1: the the place where people go potty and wait a second,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and you are proving to everyone who is listening that
- 4:11Speaker 1: we are indeed dinosaurs. Yes, yes, I know, I know
- 4:18Speaker 1: right now, I I you know, the folks that help
- 4:20Speaker 1: us with the podcasts are literally going, what does that
- 4:22Speaker 1: even sounds like something? My Grandpa would say, let's yes,
- 4:27Speaker 1: because they're all young and trying to be beautiful and talented,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and we're well, you are those things as well. I'm
- 4:34Speaker 1: just simply I'm you know what I am. I am
- 4:36Speaker 1: just comedic farm for the show. But I will say this,
- 4:40Speaker 1: stop it. Yeah, I will say this. When we came
- 4:43Speaker 1: up with the idea with O G versus I G
- 4:45Speaker 1: or I G versus O G. One of the things
- 4:47Speaker 1: that really drove me to this idea or or was
- 4:50Speaker 1: was motivator for me on the part of the idea
- 4:53Speaker 1: where it's the O G versus I, not the not
- 4:55Speaker 1: the game part that that we're talking about. Um was.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I was thinking about when when you forced me, when
- 5:00Speaker 1: Trista forced me to watch the first episode of my season,
- 5:04Speaker 1: and I was hating it with a passion launching myself,
- 5:09Speaker 1: but women were lovely. You forced me. You're like, Bob,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you must watch this. I'm like, okay, Trista, you know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and so I did. Um. But I will say that
- 5:17Speaker 1: in watching it, I was like, God, what happened to me?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Like one about my life was so cool back then,
- 5:23Speaker 1: and I started thinking about the fun stuff that I
- 5:25Speaker 1: had done at that time up until that point in
- 5:27Speaker 1: my life, and one of them. You know, I was
- 5:29Speaker 1: a musician at the time, and even though you know,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I guess you're never not a musician once you're a musician.
- 5:35Speaker 1: But let's be honest, I'm not. I'm not touring anymore
- 5:38Speaker 1: on doing that kind of but at that time I was.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And we did a tour, you know, where we had
- 5:42Speaker 1: opened for you know, hooting the Blowfish and Matchbox twenty
- 5:45Speaker 1: and all these big bands. And then I was like, literally,
- 5:49Speaker 1: as I was thinking about that, I was starting the
- 5:52Speaker 1: Mowanna CD in my car for my son, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: and uh he he, And I know everywhere it's like,
- 5:59Speaker 1: you know, what can us say except you're welcome and
- 6:03Speaker 1: whatever the words are, I don't really know. I do, actually,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I do know the words. I won't lie. And I thought,
- 6:09Speaker 1: oh my gosh, it's really kind of amazing how my
- 6:12Speaker 1: life has changed over the years. I now spend my time,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you know, I mean, sing to Have you seen it?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Because I have, and it's awesome. I haven't. I've seen
- 6:20Speaker 1: sing one and I have to see things sing too,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I haven't yet. Sing Too makes me cry every time
- 6:26Speaker 1: I watch it. Oh I need to watch it. Oh,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I love movies that make me cry. Sorry, And back then,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm like a touring guy and a musician and you
- 6:37Speaker 1: know all these things. Now I'm like a panda bear
- 6:42Speaker 1: singing a YouTube song and I'm bawling my eyes up.
- 6:45Speaker 1: A porcupine playing guitar played by Scarlette Joe Hanson. Ps Uh,
- 6:50Speaker 1: you know, I'm just sobbing like a baby. My son's
- 6:52Speaker 1: like he's three, He's over it. He wants to watch,
- 6:54Speaker 1: you know, he wants to watch you know, stinky and
- 6:57Speaker 1: dirty whatever. There's something and I'm sitting here crying. What
- 7:01Speaker 1: does that refer? Back to G versus I you started
- 7:04Speaker 1: the story? I wanna I want to bring us back well,
- 7:07Speaker 1: because yes, yes, o G. I was watching the show
- 7:13Speaker 1: and realizing where my life was at that time. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: G Now all I post about are my kids, and uh,
- 7:19Speaker 1: you know a lot of those things take place with
- 7:21Speaker 1: the kids with me while I'm watching there. That's just,
- 7:24Speaker 1: you know, just one example of full circle. But thank
- 7:27Speaker 1: you for reeling me in that every single week. Okay,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm looking through my contacts and what I'm here for you? Okay,
- 7:39Speaker 1: hold up the screen. Okay, so so how are you
- 7:42Speaker 1: finding them? Do you have them in your phone with
- 7:44Speaker 1: like under literally searched bachelor type of thing exactly. Um,
- 7:49Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean what happens when there are not
- 7:52Speaker 1: more people, because I know there are people on here
- 7:54Speaker 1: who have not showed up that I definitely have numbers for.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So I've got a lot. Okay, I'm really surprised, all right,
- 8:03Speaker 1: so tell me. Okay, go down and pick the fifth
- 8:06Speaker 1: on the list. Okay, one, one, two, three, four, five? Okay,
- 8:13Speaker 1: Oh yes, I can't see that. I guess we haven't
- 8:18Speaker 1: talked to him this podcast though. And it's Burgie. It's Burgie. No,
- 8:24Speaker 1: it's Burge. I thought you said Burgie. I did a yeah. Okay,
- 8:34Speaker 1: why don't you call Aaron Burgie and see if he answer?
- 8:37Speaker 1: I feel like no one's going to answer because who
- 8:39Speaker 1: literally literally who answers the phone these days, like either
- 8:43Speaker 1: you text them, No one answers the phone. Aaron's old
- 8:47Speaker 1: school like us, though, So Aaron will answer this phone,
- 8:50Speaker 1: true story. Okay, okay, so what do you say? You
- 8:53Speaker 1: just say, hey, do you have a temple minutes to
- 8:55Speaker 1: talk to me in triest on our new podcast, and
- 8:58Speaker 1: then like shine your all right, let's see happens here
- 9:00Speaker 1: we go. I'm calling him as we speak. It's ringing.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Can you guys hear this? And then what if he
- 9:09Speaker 1: answers your call and no one answers mine? Then I
- 9:14Speaker 1: don't like an idiot? Is I don't know what Aaron's
- 9:18Speaker 1: not going to answer my call? For god, what's going
- 9:22Speaker 1: on here? He is an important guy, he's a banker.
- 9:28Speaker 1: All right? Do I leave a message? I think I'll
- 9:29Speaker 1: leave a message. You don't have to, but you can. Hi.
- 9:33Speaker 1: This is Baron berg I get back with such a
- 9:40Speaker 1: nice guy at the tel and please record your man,
- 9:42Speaker 1: Aaron Bergie like Fergie, hang up or press one for
- 9:45Speaker 1: more options. Aaron, it's Bob and Trista. We're calling you
- 9:51Speaker 1: from almost famous o G podcast. We're doing like a
- 9:55Speaker 1: game here and uh I just lost. I lost the
- 9:58Speaker 1: first round. I thought you would for sure, and so
- 10:00Speaker 1: all right, I love you, buddy, and I'll hollerate you soon.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Derby's around the corner. Are you coming this year? Call
- 10:06Speaker 1: me back by Okay, so I'm over on. Tris your turn.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Now you're gonna get all the answers. You're kidding me.
- 10:14Speaker 1: You know you're the guy. You're the godmother of this thing.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I am literally a pion. No one answers the phone
- 10:21Speaker 1: these days, so I'm a little nervous and and I
- 10:25Speaker 1: don't have like people in here under should we should
- 10:29Speaker 1: have done this beforehand? Note for next time. If we
- 10:32Speaker 1: do it beforehand, let's go through the people and make
- 10:36Speaker 1: sure they are easy to find, because UM, mine are not. UM. Okay,
- 10:42Speaker 1: so let me see. You gotta go to go to
- 10:46Speaker 1: number five on your phone like I did. I went
- 10:48Speaker 1: to number five. But the thing is, I have Bachelor
- 10:50Speaker 1: producers like um, most of mine are Bachelor producers or
- 10:56Speaker 1: worked on the Bachelorette special with the you know, like
- 11:00Speaker 1: Carrie Fatman's on here. Should I call Carrie Garry Fatman?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Helly answer his phone? Okay? Here I would talked to
- 11:06Speaker 1: him in a long time. The anticipation my baby as
- 11:16Speaker 1: I live and breathe. Okay Fatman, Oh my gosh, I'm
- 11:20Speaker 1: so happy you answered my call. I'm great, But you
- 11:25Speaker 1: can't say anything that will get me in trouble or
- 11:29Speaker 1: Bob Guinea, because we're actually calling you from our new podcast.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And we were like, okay, we're playing this game where
- 11:35Speaker 1: we're going to randomly call people from the Bachelor in
- 11:38Speaker 1: our phones and see if they answer number one, which
- 11:41Speaker 1: we were like, no one's going to answer the phone,
- 11:43Speaker 1: but you answered. I'm so excited. I just realized Carrie
- 11:48Speaker 1: is not gonna hear I mean, I love you. How
- 11:50Speaker 1: are you? I'm so do you know? Life is good?
- 11:54Speaker 1: But today I'm talking to Bob. You remember Bob Guinea, right,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I mean you were the stylist on his show. Right,
- 12:01Speaker 1: That's why I look so damn good. That's why he
- 12:05Speaker 1: looks so good. He said, kiss good, kissing monster. Yes,
- 12:12Speaker 1: that's what they called me the kissing bandit back then. Now,
- 12:15Speaker 1: so Carrie can't hear me. You have to tell him
- 12:18Speaker 1: I miss him, I love him, and thanks for making
- 12:20Speaker 1: me look so good. I can't hear you, but you
- 12:23Speaker 1: can't hear him. I wonder if there's a way for
- 12:27Speaker 1: if I pull out my headphones? Can I Can I
- 12:29Speaker 1: do that? Guys the production team, you could put one headphone.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Why don't you put one headphone to him? Here? Threw
- 12:35Speaker 1: a headphone on the phone, No problem, I don't know Carrie,
- 12:42Speaker 1: so anyway, okay, so we basically I just wanted to
- 12:45Speaker 1: say hi, like okay, but but they can hear you,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and Bob can hear you. So why don't. Can I
- 12:52Speaker 1: ask you? Do? You have two minutes to chat with me?
- 12:55Speaker 1: You're the best. I love you. Okay, So who's your
- 12:59Speaker 1: favorite interest? I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. I'm writing his answers.
- 13:10Speaker 1: This must be his answer. No, I'm just kidding. I
- 13:15Speaker 1: love you. You cannot have favorites. I totally feel the
- 13:18Speaker 1: maternal thing just like you do, where people ask me
- 13:22Speaker 1: that all the time and I'm like, really, it's like
- 13:23Speaker 1: choosing a child. You can't do that. No, it was
- 13:30Speaker 1: crazy about but certainly not having a favorite. I mean, right, okay,
- 13:36Speaker 1: and because many years I still excited. It was when
- 13:39Speaker 1: I saw you were falling. I know, I love that.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I mean it's been a long time and you weren't
- 13:44Speaker 1: even the stylist on my show. Um, we just connected afterwards,
- 13:49Speaker 1: that's right. Is that where we met at Jade and
- 13:51Speaker 1: Tanner's wedding? Now I met for doing your wedding girls
- 13:54Speaker 1: when I came on you. Yeah, I don't even remember this.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Do we have any chose together? Yeah? Because he was
- 14:02Speaker 1: on he was on his my season stylist, not the engagement,
- 14:05Speaker 1: but I did the pre party. We picked out dresses
- 14:09Speaker 1: for that. Oh my gosh, where was my phone? I
- 14:12Speaker 1: did not have a phone at that time, actually to
- 14:14Speaker 1: do They didn't even have cameras on phones probably back then, right,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you have a flip phone? Yea, we have either. I
- 14:21Speaker 1: just remember going to your apartment. Oh my yes, Carrington,
- 14:27Speaker 1: I know in brentwo it was I remembering. That is
- 14:31Speaker 1: the amazing thing. Name from yesterday, same same, All right,
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'll let you go. I'm just so thankful you answered
- 14:42Speaker 1: the phone. I'm so glad that you guys are good.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I love you. To send my left to pocket. I
- 14:48Speaker 1: will talk to you guys shortly. Okay, sounds good. Thanks,
- 14:51Speaker 1: thanks Batman. I mean, how cute is he? All right,
- 15:05Speaker 1: here we go. So when I type in the word
- 15:08Speaker 1: Bachelor on my phone, it pulls up a ton of people,
- 15:12Speaker 1: and you're right, a lot of producer people. Also, you
- 15:17Speaker 1: know some other folks as well that are in and
- 15:20Speaker 1: around the show. But this is a good one. Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 1: this is a pretty good one. This is a deep dive.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I guess that deep of a dive. But when I
- 15:29Speaker 1: type in bachelor, it's the very first name that pops up.
- 15:32Speaker 1: You wanna who it is? Or should I surprise you?
- 15:34Speaker 1: I do want to know who it is Ari oh Ari,
- 15:39Speaker 1: oh good? Hopeful easily answer? That would be awesome because
- 15:44Speaker 1: with his twins or I don't know, but hey, let's
- 15:47Speaker 1: do it. The number five was Aaron Burgee. Ye think
- 15:51Speaker 1: I got a lot in between that Ari and Aaron Burgie.
- 15:53Speaker 1: But here we go. Let's give it a shot. Are
- 15:56Speaker 1: you ready? Let's see if he answers. I know he's
- 15:59Speaker 1: a busy guy. It's a realtor to the stars. He's busy.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Out of three with three kids. He's got the twins.
- 16:08Speaker 1: These kids are gorgeous. They are so cute. All right,
- 16:13Speaker 1: come on, Ari, I need to get one win here,
- 16:16Speaker 1: just one. Everyone's answering for Trista. They're ignoring me. I'm
- 16:22Speaker 1: really competitive, so we should just make it eat Trista
- 16:25Speaker 1: calling people, and I'll just sit here kidding. Nobody wants
- 16:31Speaker 1: to talk to old Bob. Hello, you reach a line. Hello,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you've rich. He has a very good voice. Now, very
- 16:38Speaker 1: good voice. We're leaving another message here, everybody, bullet and
- 16:44Speaker 1: it's full totally tom Stone. He put me to a
- 16:47Speaker 1: fakeking tinking because no one answers calls these days. I
- 16:51Speaker 1: swear I can't believe answered. We actually want to talk
- 16:55Speaker 1: to someone. This is like, this is terrible radio. From
- 16:58Speaker 1: the standpoint of me, provide content. I'm not doing anything.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Let's go, You're just going to keep going. Um okay,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I feel like I can get one. I bet I
- 17:15Speaker 1: bet that Molly would answer. Okay, let's call her. And
- 17:19Speaker 1: Molly is a good one too, because she's she does
- 17:22Speaker 1: some radio stuff. She's doing real estate, so much going on.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I talked about her doing a podcast with me back
- 17:29Speaker 1: in the day, but she's really busy too. She's in
- 17:32Speaker 1: real estate now with Jason. I'm not even going to
- 17:39Speaker 1: leave her. You're not even leaving a message. Come on, No,
- 17:44Speaker 1: these people need to know that they've let you down.
- 17:47Speaker 1: That's what they need to let down. Yes, so right now,
- 17:51Speaker 1: if we're counting this as a scoreboard, trist is up
- 17:54Speaker 1: one to nothing. So we're back to kid Dyna Mike
- 17:57Speaker 1: dialing up one more time. I don't if you know this,
- 18:00Speaker 1: but that's what they call me in the Bachelor family,
- 18:04Speaker 1: a kid dynamite. I don't really know why. Um, so
- 18:06Speaker 1: we're gonna go Backe. Yeah, oh yeah, that's a very
- 18:10Speaker 1: common thing. Okay, so I'm gonna go to the last name. Actually,
- 18:14Speaker 1: this isn't the last name the last name. The last
- 18:17Speaker 1: name is a name, a collective name from you're in
- 18:21Speaker 1: my past, just that I I wouldn't even feel comfortable
- 18:25Speaker 1: calling right now, Um really Chris, no Stella, No, God, no,
- 18:32Speaker 1: she wouldn't be last, and I'd call her totally. This one.
- 18:35Speaker 1: It's not it's not like you're saying last, like it's
- 18:38Speaker 1: a last priority. But it's definitely not last. Alphabetically. See
- 18:43Speaker 1: mine aren't even alphabetical. Oh yeah, mine are all alphabetical.
- 18:47Speaker 1: The last name of my phone that pops up alphabetically
- 18:50Speaker 1: starts with a woa with a w ends with the oods,
- 18:56Speaker 1: just saying Nicole Woods. No, not Nicole's Russell Russes. So
- 19:03Speaker 1: I didn't want to do that to you. So instead,
- 19:06Speaker 1: it's fine, I'm gonna go up five from the bottom.
- 19:09Speaker 1: You ready, one, two, four, five. I'm not even telling
- 19:13Speaker 1: you who this is. We're just falling it. Well in
- 19:16Speaker 1: mind you yes, mine in alphabetic ardor this one will
- 19:19Speaker 1: turn into a FaceTime if this individual answers, Okay, he's
- 19:25Speaker 1: going to answer because he's my boy, all right, come on, buddy,
- 19:31Speaker 1: come on now. Although you know what he works hard for,
- 19:38Speaker 1: he might be Farming, Ladies and gentlemen. Prince Farming, Chris Souls,
- 19:43Speaker 1: Prince Farming. He's probably out there grinding some corn, doing
- 19:48Speaker 1: some hard labor while I'm sitting here trying to blow
- 19:51Speaker 1: up his phone podcast. Oh, for god's sake, alright, we're
- 19:57Speaker 1: not even leaving messages. Now, over three. You're one for three,
- 20:01Speaker 1: that's great. I'm over three. You know you're one for two,
- 20:05Speaker 1: so you get one more shot. I'm that's great. Odds.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I mean, you don't need to do another round to
- 20:12Speaker 1: win this thing. But I feel like if you really
- 20:13Speaker 1: want to put it over the top that you know,
- 20:16Speaker 1: let's go. Let's not let's not mess around, Let's go big.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I'm going Burgie right here. Yeah, Aaron Bergie like Fergie?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Are you like Fergie? Yeah? We're giving a call. What's
- 20:32Speaker 1: going on, Aaron Burgie? He just saved me in this game.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Thank you. Whatever you guys are playing, but I'm happy
- 20:41Speaker 1: to help. Yeah, no, buddy, So you're live on the air,
- 20:45Speaker 1: your voices with Trista and I on the O G
- 20:47Speaker 1: s uh, the almost famous o G podcast, And we
- 20:51Speaker 1: went through our phones and we're playing like this Bachelor
- 20:54Speaker 1: Nation round. Robin try to call people that you know
- 20:57Speaker 1: and see if they pick up. No one answered me, buddy,
- 21:00Speaker 1: except for you. Write me back saying, Bob, I'm in
- 21:04Speaker 1: the middle of, you know, basically solving the world's financial crisis.
- 21:07Speaker 1: But I'll take a step out of my meeting and
- 21:09Speaker 1: take your call. Trista. Trist is just everyone's to grab
- 21:12Speaker 1: a Trista. This call. How are you, Buddy? Good? Hi? Well, buddy,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I want to say hi and check in with you.
- 21:22Speaker 1: How how are things there in Missouri? I know, so
- 21:29Speaker 1: I watched I watched the show called the Ozark right,
- 21:32Speaker 1: you know Ozarks, and I watched it. I end up
- 21:35Speaker 1: calling Aaron and like, Buddy, is this real? Does this
- 21:37Speaker 1: really exist there? And there's this beautiful golf course. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: that Tim Tebow was playing out. I'm like, I said
- 21:44Speaker 1: the picture, Aaron is this? Where is this? And He's like,
- 21:47Speaker 1: that's like half an hour from me. I keep my
- 21:49Speaker 1: boat down there. Let's go perfect. So that's our plan.
- 21:53Speaker 1: We gotta get our we gotta get everybody together, buddy,
- 21:56Speaker 1: because I know, uh, our wives are big friends and
- 21:58Speaker 1: and and that's great and I are great buddies too,
- 22:02Speaker 1: so we'll have to definitely come busy. They came out
- 22:04Speaker 1: to Seattle. Aaron and his wife came out to Seattle
- 22:06Speaker 1: when Jessica and I were living there in Seattle and
- 22:08Speaker 1: stayed with us for a long weekend and we went
- 22:10Speaker 1: to see a game when his when his Chiefs were
- 22:13Speaker 1: in town. So it was good again. I see you
- 22:18Speaker 1: guys gonna be at the derby. Of course, it's like
- 22:20Speaker 1: Christmas for year. But you're right, you know it, buddy,
- 22:21Speaker 1: I don't miss it. Are you coming this year? I
- 22:24Speaker 1: don't know if there's a possibility, but I don't know.
- 22:27Speaker 1: We just had our first grand baby, so we're kind
- 22:29Speaker 1: of we're kind of in it right now. A grand baby.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I've got a nine month old. This is bananas heard
- 22:35Speaker 1: her husband had a baby last week. Oh my god,
- 22:38Speaker 1: that's so great. Congratulations grandstations, granddaddy. You are a grand dude.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Grand dude, that's it. You gotta keep the Paul out
- 22:49Speaker 1: of like here. I can't get there in my mind yet.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I'm not old enough for all that. I feel it. No,
- 22:53Speaker 1: you're not. But to be a grand dude, I think
- 22:55Speaker 1: you got it dialed there is I appreciate. So the
- 23:02Speaker 1: last time we talked to you, we were doing that
- 23:04Speaker 1: interview it was the three of us Um, I can't
- 23:07Speaker 1: remember who it was for ET or extra one of
- 23:10Speaker 1: those maybe UM and Bob and I were like, we
- 23:13Speaker 1: need to do something together, so hence the podcast. This
- 23:17Speaker 1: is where we landed with UM, I heart media and
- 23:20Speaker 1: almost famous. So I think we need you to be
- 23:23Speaker 1: a SEC contributor pal because the three of us were
- 23:25Speaker 1: magic on that thing. Was I really enjoyed it, so
- 23:29Speaker 1: love contributing time up. Alright, buddy, thanks very taking my call.
- 23:35Speaker 1: You're a lifesaver. I didn't end up losing the Trista
- 23:37Speaker 1: after awesome. Thanks brother. Yeah see you, buddy. Oh yeah,
- 23:49Speaker 1: I'm so glad we tied. I'm so glad we tied
- 23:52Speaker 1: and have content calling people and be like want you
- 23:57Speaker 1: can only hear me leave somebody like totally terrible for
- 24:00Speaker 1: a snails you know before people turn out. So but
- 24:03Speaker 1: that was fun. Okay, so we're gonna take a quick
- 24:05Speaker 1: break and then after this we're gonna go O G
- 24:07Speaker 1: versus I G which I gave you a kind of
- 24:09Speaker 1: a little feeler you know that it's gonna be like
- 24:11Speaker 1: where we were. It's sort of like you know when
- 24:13Speaker 1: you when people say like I g um, you know,
- 24:16Speaker 1: Instagram versus reality. This is gonna be, you know, our
- 24:21Speaker 1: our old life versus I think kind of right, Yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I agree, So like I have, I have so many,
- 24:29Speaker 1: I mean, and it's embarrassing. I'm sure you do. So
- 24:31Speaker 1: I leave people in this little teaser. Uh. Someone once
- 24:34Speaker 1: said to me, and this is not too long ago.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Once said to me, um, wait, so so this is
- 24:39Speaker 1: this is what you do for a living. And I said, yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I love it. And they said, how the mighty have fallen?
- 24:46Speaker 1: But said that to me, isn't that amazing? And I
- 24:49Speaker 1: thought it was actually really funny slash insulting. Insulting. For sure,
- 24:55Speaker 1: we'll get into it when we get back all those things,
- 24:57Speaker 1: the gs, we'll be back, all right, And we're back
- 25:12Speaker 1: and we're back. God, that was a long break. Oh
- 25:16Speaker 1: my gosh. I was wondering when we were ever going
- 25:18Speaker 1: to get back to it. Almost totally passed out sleeping
- 25:24Speaker 1: during that whole thing. Yeah I can do that on
- 25:26Speaker 1: a moment's notice. I can. Maybe not today I have
- 25:29Speaker 1: too much to do, but uh yeah, normally I can't.
- 25:32Speaker 1: So Okay, so o G versus I G Bob's idea
- 25:35Speaker 1: and we're so excited to actually like kind of talk
- 25:37Speaker 1: about how things were back in the day compared to
- 25:41Speaker 1: how things are now and the things that we post
- 25:43Speaker 1: about on I G. I think very similar. It's probably
- 25:47Speaker 1: about our kids. Um I uh yeah. You just told
- 25:54Speaker 1: the story before break about how someone not gave you
- 25:58Speaker 1: a compliment in an insult, because I don't consider that
- 26:00Speaker 1: necessarily a compliment. It was just no, there was no
- 26:04Speaker 1: compliment unless I'm saying I was mighty at one time.
- 26:07Speaker 1: That's kind of a yeah, that's right, that's true, you were,
- 26:11Speaker 1: that's right. So um so I have a similar story
- 26:16Speaker 1: and this this happened quite frequently. I feel like it
- 26:19Speaker 1: probably happened to you too, where people would come up
- 26:21Speaker 1: to me and say or even write me and say,
- 26:25Speaker 1: oh you you look so much better in person. Yeah,
- 26:29Speaker 1: but wait, I'm the same person. Yeah, thank thank you, thanks. Okay.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I got the point with that one where I would say,
- 26:37Speaker 1: oh wait, so so when like thirty million people were
- 26:39Speaker 1: watching me on TV, I looked like Dodge, But when
- 26:42Speaker 1: you meet me in the store, I look amazing. Thanks.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I guess yeah, yeah, no that I definitely I got
- 26:48Speaker 1: that one a lot. I mean, it was, you know,
- 26:50Speaker 1: oh wait, you're not You're not fat in person, like, oh,
- 26:55Speaker 1: thank you. People always think I'm way taller because of
- 26:59Speaker 1: course I'm five two and very petite. Um, I could
- 27:04Speaker 1: tend to lose, you know, five ten, but um, you know,
- 27:07Speaker 1: people always think that you're way taller in person, and
- 27:11Speaker 1: I definitely am not. So yeah, there's that too, but um,
- 27:15Speaker 1: which I kind of which is kind of like an
- 27:17Speaker 1: o G I G. People can't tell how tall you
- 27:19Speaker 1: are on I G. Everybody's tall on Instagram. I mean
- 27:24Speaker 1: everybody's everybody's having a grad stated lives and there's six
- 27:27Speaker 1: ft nine. I think, Um, yeah, you know, my my
- 27:30Speaker 1: ex wife was five too, as is my current wife
- 27:33Speaker 1: five four. I I apparently I have a thing. Um
- 27:36Speaker 1: and uh. She was an actress, so people would always
- 27:38Speaker 1: say that to her, to you, like, oh, you're so
- 27:40Speaker 1: much tinier I thought you'd be, you know, And so
- 27:43Speaker 1: it was it kind of went hand in hand with
- 27:45Speaker 1: my thing, which was like, oh, oh you're not as
- 27:47Speaker 1: fat as I thought you'd be. So so yeah, that's
- 27:52Speaker 1: a good one. That's a good one. I like that one. Yeah. Okay,
- 27:56Speaker 1: So we've got some questions that we've got some thoughts starters,
- 27:59Speaker 1: and I just wanted to I feel like, this is
- 28:01Speaker 1: really interesting that this was even like asked by the producers,
- 28:05Speaker 1: is were gossip magazines like US Weekly and people around
- 28:09Speaker 1: and I just feel like, oh my gosh, really is it?
- 28:13Speaker 1: Do we really are we looking like we're that old?
- 28:16Speaker 1: Because they definitely were. Yes, they were around guys. Um,
- 28:23Speaker 1: you know people magazine. You might be surprised it's been
- 28:25Speaker 1: around a little longer than twenty years, a lot longer.
- 28:29Speaker 1: And like for my wedding, So at the wedding, which
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, six million people watched, um and so lots
- 28:38Speaker 1: of you out there listening may have watched back then.
- 28:41Speaker 1: So when you watched, you probably knew that there were
- 28:44Speaker 1: helicopters hovering over the ceremony when it was happening. And
- 28:48Speaker 1: those helicopters were, in fact, UH magazines, trying to get
- 28:54Speaker 1: a great shot for their for their magazine. They wanted
- 28:57Speaker 1: to get like an exclusive by actually being at the wedding. Also,
- 29:02Speaker 1: I don't know if you knew this because you were
- 29:04Speaker 1: you were at the wedding, but they walked up to people,
- 29:07Speaker 1: so the paparazzi or people from the magazines, because they
- 29:11Speaker 1: weren't going to be given the photos until they were
- 29:15Speaker 1: shared with everyone unless someone had an exclusive deal, which
- 29:18Speaker 1: is kind of how it works. So the magazines like
- 29:20Speaker 1: somehow got into the uh, the the hotel property. It
- 29:29Speaker 1: was Brancho Mirage and now it's the Ris Carlton in
- 29:32Speaker 1: Palm Springs. And so they get there and they they
- 29:35Speaker 1: put they stuck on those little disposable cameras into bushes,
- 29:40Speaker 1: into bushes, and they told people. Actually I think they
- 29:44Speaker 1: ended up kind of somehow getting into the wedding. And
- 29:47Speaker 1: then they would tell people there is a disposable camera
- 29:50Speaker 1: in the bush over there. If you take a picture
- 29:53Speaker 1: and then get it to me afterwards, we'll give you
- 29:55Speaker 1: five thousand dollars or whatever it was I think it was. Yes,
- 29:59Speaker 1: isn't that crazy? So yes, the magazines were most definitely
- 30:02Speaker 1: around and and actually probably thriving even better than they
- 30:08Speaker 1: do now because of social media. I feel like the magazines,
- 30:11Speaker 1: the television shows. Everyone has Instagram. Yeah, now it's about
- 30:16Speaker 1: online content for sure. Yeah, I don't I don't pick
- 30:19Speaker 1: up magazines like I used to. I don't know about you,
- 30:23Speaker 1: but I used to grab them. But now that there's
- 30:26Speaker 1: social media, you kind of see everything online. I will
- 30:28Speaker 1: say this, So when I was when I was on
- 30:32Speaker 1: your season of the Bachelorette and in between being on
- 30:36Speaker 1: The Bachelorrette and The Bachelor Um. The National Enquiry was
- 30:40Speaker 1: in my front lawn at my house when I came
- 30:42Speaker 1: home from the airport one day and I'm like, you know,
- 30:46Speaker 1: and you know, I'm one of those guys like, Hi,
- 30:48Speaker 1: how you doing. You know, I can you know, I'm like, hey,
- 30:52Speaker 1: my Mom's like, I'm surprised you didn't invite him in.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe I don't. Yeah, hey, can I get
- 30:57Speaker 1: you guys so lot out here, But you know, it
- 31:00Speaker 1: was one of those things where it was sort of like,
- 31:02Speaker 1: oh my god, and then you know, yeah, I remember
- 31:04Speaker 1: back then there was you know, like I became friends with,
- 31:08Speaker 1: you know, some of the same photographers. I'd see a
- 31:10Speaker 1: different things and stuff. All of a sudden, I you know,
- 31:13Speaker 1: I'd run into him at times when I didn't want
- 31:15Speaker 1: to see him, and I was like, oh, no, you know,
- 31:17Speaker 1: but yeah, it was definitely one of those things that
- 31:19Speaker 1: they were around big time back then. But yeah, there
- 31:21Speaker 1: was not really the online presence that it is today.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Although I will tell you oddly enough, so my wife
- 31:25Speaker 1: and I have been married seven years now, six years
- 31:29Speaker 1: uh November and we got married in Punta me To, Mexico,
- 31:34Speaker 1: which is beautiful if you've ever been. And we rented
- 31:39Speaker 1: this house and had the wedding at the house, and
- 31:40Speaker 1: we actually stayed at the house as well. And uh,
- 31:44Speaker 1: you know, I see this boat out there that I
- 31:46Speaker 1: think is a different boat, and because I just don't,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I just don't think anyone cares. So I'm like, oh,
- 31:54Speaker 1: that's weird as a fishing boat out there today, you know.
- 31:56Speaker 1: And so my wife comes out over and she's like, hey, uh,
- 32:00Speaker 1: what's up with that boat? And I'm like, I know
- 32:02Speaker 1: some guys are fishing and she's like, I don't think
- 32:04Speaker 1: so I think that's paparazzi. I'm like, no, absolutely not. Um.
- 32:08Speaker 1: First of all, Lady Gaga was there for a friend's
- 32:11Speaker 1: wedding and I'm like, not at our wedding, and she
- 32:13Speaker 1: was at a put putt. I'm like, uh no, I
- 32:19Speaker 1: can't believe she blew it off. I mean what, no, RSPP.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I guess she didn't have the number because I didn't
- 32:26Speaker 1: know her, but uh, had she been invited, I would
- 32:28Speaker 1: have expected her as to be there. But any who, Um,
- 32:32Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, they probably look for Lady Gaga, you know,
- 32:36Speaker 1: and find out no, they you know, they leaked our
- 32:39Speaker 1: photos and and uh, we got some grief over that
- 32:42Speaker 1: because you know, we had like this thing. It wasn't
- 32:45Speaker 1: even an exclusive thing, but it was just the thing
- 32:47Speaker 1: that we were doing that I thought it was gonna
- 32:48Speaker 1: be fun and uh with like bride magazine exactly what
- 32:52Speaker 1: that was where my wife more than it was for
- 32:54Speaker 1: me actually, so I thought she would love it, and
- 32:56Speaker 1: you know, but yeah, these photos came out and I'm like,
- 32:57Speaker 1: where first of all their photos, like what a cop
- 33:01Speaker 1: quality lens that guy had? H you know, but it
- 33:04Speaker 1: was definitely from a distance and uh from a boat.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And I was wrong. He was right, which I have
- 33:10Speaker 1: come to find out for anyone who ever gets married,
- 33:13Speaker 1: you know, the wife is always right and just as
- 33:15Speaker 1: a guy, he's going to admit it. Yeah. Yeah, that
- 33:19Speaker 1: that saves, That would save so many marriages, so many
- 33:22Speaker 1: of my marriage. I mean, my god, it's amazing. I
- 33:29Speaker 1: finally learned. It took me a couple, just a couple.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Just you reminded me of a story that we were
- 33:46Speaker 1: in Europe for. Actually it was a press event. Um,
- 33:51Speaker 1: we went to Monte Carlo. Then we then we ended
- 33:53Speaker 1: up going out on our own and we went to
- 33:55Speaker 1: chinqua Tera in Italy and we met this person and
- 34:02Speaker 1: he was he spoke English. He was super nice. He
- 34:05Speaker 1: was like, I'll take you around. My my friend has
- 34:07Speaker 1: this boat. You know, I'm with Ryan. If I had
- 34:09Speaker 1: been with girlfriends, I never would have done this because
- 34:11Speaker 1: I would be like, okay, random guy taking us out
- 34:13Speaker 1: on a boat. Yeah, you know so anyway, so he
- 34:17Speaker 1: takes us out on this boat. We totally connected with him,
- 34:21Speaker 1: and um, he dropped us off in this like cove,
- 34:25Speaker 1: super private, super fun. It was beautiful, and we took
- 34:29Speaker 1: a picture on the boat. He was like, oh, let's
- 34:31Speaker 1: just take a picture whatever, and of you guys, of
- 34:34Speaker 1: me and of me and Ryan. He was like, let
- 34:36Speaker 1: me take a picture of you guys, and you know,
- 34:37Speaker 1: we take a picture and then we get home and
- 34:40Speaker 1: it was he had sold it to a magazine. I
- 34:42Speaker 1: was like, really, like, that's why why do I have
- 34:46Speaker 1: to like, why are you putting this in my head
- 34:48Speaker 1: that I can't just trust someone to be you know,
- 34:52Speaker 1: innocent and not wanting to sell a picture of us
- 34:56Speaker 1: to a magazine. Like it's kind of a bummer that
- 35:00Speaker 1: that's how the world was and now it's like all
- 35:03Speaker 1: over social media if you go anywhere, like real people
- 35:06Speaker 1: can't sell pictures anymore because it's already leaked. I had.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I had a weird experience with my class reunion in
- 35:13Speaker 1: high school. I'll never forget. I really wanted to go,
- 35:16Speaker 1: you know, because I was class president and a lot
- 35:18Speaker 1: to me to be there, and well, of course you
- 35:19Speaker 1: were class president, right. So I go back and this
- 35:23Speaker 1: guy tells me. He's like, yeah, I got contacted by
- 35:26Speaker 1: so and so and they wanted me to give them
- 35:28Speaker 1: a picture. And I'm like what, and he's like, they
- 35:31Speaker 1: offered me a lot of money, like one of your friends,
- 35:33Speaker 1: one of your friends from high school. I would say
- 35:35Speaker 1: it was a person I knew, not someone whom it
- 35:38Speaker 1: And he was like, you know, I I figured i'd
- 35:41Speaker 1: come to you and just tell you, you know, in
- 35:43Speaker 1: that way, you know, if it's up to you. I mean,
- 35:46Speaker 1: if you're cool that I'll sell it, and if not,
- 35:48Speaker 1: you know, you could just give me that money. And
- 35:53Speaker 1: I was like, uh what, sorry, no, thank you, Like, well,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'd rather you just didn't sell it and you didn't
- 36:00Speaker 1: ask me for money. That would be kind of cool. Ye. Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 1: Thankfully it ended up kind of working out that way. Frankly,
- 36:05Speaker 1: he ended up you know, he actually ended up not
- 36:09Speaker 1: getting money from me and not selling it, which I
- 36:11Speaker 1: thought was pretty good. Good, Yeah, totally his decision. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:15Speaker 1: I think he got a guy a little guilt from
- 36:17Speaker 1: some of my buddies that you know, we're kind of like,
- 36:18Speaker 1: you're not selling a picture to the real that's not cool,
- 36:23Speaker 1: I know, But that was definitely back in the day.
- 36:25Speaker 1: That was a different time, and you know, I think,
- 36:27Speaker 1: like you said, that doesn't necessarily exist like that anymore.
- 36:30Speaker 1: But now people will do it intentionally. So now we've
- 36:33Speaker 1: got people who come off the show and immediately are influencers.
- 36:36Speaker 1: We've talked about this a lot. Everyone who has a
- 36:38Speaker 1: Bachelor podcast talks about this a lot. I feel like
- 36:41Speaker 1: it's a topic of conversation a lot because nowadays, when
- 36:47Speaker 1: you go on the show, there is a very high
- 36:50Speaker 1: probability that you'll get a lot of followers, if you
- 36:52Speaker 1: go far in the show, if people like you, if
- 36:55Speaker 1: you're a villain, and you've got a lot of drama
- 36:57Speaker 1: surrounding you, you know, all of those things, and and
- 37:00Speaker 1: back in the day, it wasn't that, but it was
- 37:04Speaker 1: I remember so I. Um. I went into hosting a
- 37:08Speaker 1: little bit because after the show, like after The Bachelor,
- 37:12Speaker 1: I was like, this is really fun. I love this environment.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Everyone is so fun and positive. Like all the producers
- 37:20Speaker 1: they're trying to hype you up, like keep you in
- 37:22Speaker 1: a good mood. It's just it was a really fun environment.
- 37:26Speaker 1: And I thought, huh, maybe I could do something there.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I was a pediatric physical therapist at the time, and
- 37:32Speaker 1: it was very um what's the word. Uh. It fed
- 37:38Speaker 1: my soul in a way, but it wasn't necessarily what
- 37:41Speaker 1: I would call a fun job, you know. It was
- 37:44Speaker 1: more about the purpose of it, you know, helping kids
- 37:47Speaker 1: and um. So I would go and do interviews and
- 37:52Speaker 1: people would be and the producers or whomever I would
- 37:55Speaker 1: work with or the on air talent would say, you know,
- 37:59Speaker 1: you're great at this. Why don't you do this? Like
- 38:01Speaker 1: why why have you not done this? So, you know,
- 38:05Speaker 1: after a bunch of those, I thought, oh, maybe I
- 38:07Speaker 1: can do this. So I ended up in hosting. And
- 38:12Speaker 1: I mean I was on the view when they were
- 38:13Speaker 1: looking at trying to hire someone. Um. I can't remember
- 38:18Speaker 1: what who they were replacing at the time. Um, and
- 38:22Speaker 1: I did stuff for Good Day Live and Good Day
- 38:26Speaker 1: l A and Good Morning America and Extra. I was
- 38:29Speaker 1: a correspondent and and so I had a lot of fun.
- 38:31Speaker 1: But I will say that I felt like there was
- 38:35Speaker 1: a negative connotation to it, that people were like, oh,
- 38:39Speaker 1: so she wanted to get into hosting UM and that's
- 38:42Speaker 1: why she did the show. But that's not true. It
- 38:45Speaker 1: was the other way around. I went into the show
- 38:48Speaker 1: and then because I had so much fun and because
- 38:51Speaker 1: of the experience I had doing the interviews and getting
- 38:55Speaker 1: the response that I did, I thought this could be
- 38:58Speaker 1: a fun job. So I do think there was a
- 39:00Speaker 1: negative connotation even back then. I know you did a
- 39:02Speaker 1: lot of posting too, And did you feel that did
- 39:05Speaker 1: you feel that people were kind of judging you for
- 39:08Speaker 1: going to on air entertainment. Oh totally, but probably because I,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you know, I didn't end up with my final pick.
- 39:14Speaker 1: At least you ended up with your final pick, so
- 39:17Speaker 1: you could be like, well, you know, for me, it's like,
- 39:19Speaker 1: look at this guy. And I was an entertainment before,
- 39:22Speaker 1: you know, I was hosting local ABC affiliate and then
- 39:25Speaker 1: and then I was also a musician, so I was like,
- 39:27Speaker 1: you know, I think I think a lot of people
- 39:29Speaker 1: assumed that was the case, but no much much the same.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I mean, it was just all these opportunities are in
- 39:34Speaker 1: your lap, and it's like, okay, sure, why not, you know,
- 39:36Speaker 1: if it's in my schedule. My thing was I you know,
- 39:39Speaker 1: I never quit my day job, so like for the
- 39:41Speaker 1: longest time, I stayed in the mortgage industry. And then
- 39:43Speaker 1: as that kind of died, you know, in two thousand
- 39:45Speaker 1: and eight, which was a long time ago for many
- 39:47Speaker 1: of our listeners, I'm sure, but um, you know, at
- 39:50Speaker 1: this at that time, I had already been in that
- 39:51Speaker 1: business for quite some time, and um, and that and
- 39:53Speaker 1: I segued into you know, uh, basically a totally different
- 39:57Speaker 1: industry but very similar type of feel, you know, which
- 40:00Speaker 1: was the insurance industry. So but it was it was
- 40:03Speaker 1: one of those things where you know, I loved doing it,
- 40:05Speaker 1: I mean, and then they found me for shows that
- 40:07Speaker 1: like fit things they knew I did. Like I would
- 40:09Speaker 1: take pictures. I was new to Instagram. I was very late,
- 40:12Speaker 1: very very long post Bash or before I was ever
- 40:14Speaker 1: on Facebook, Instagram any of that stuff, and um, and
- 40:17Speaker 1: I would take pictures of the house as I renovated,
- 40:19Speaker 1: and because I really enjoyed that, and so I would
- 40:21Speaker 1: get contacted by like TLC or you know, HDTV, and
- 40:25Speaker 1: they're like, hey, we want you to host this show
- 40:26Speaker 1: about home renovation. I'm like, all right, you know, and
- 40:30Speaker 1: it was fun and it was exciting. I'm having a memory.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Did you host a show on the Game Game Show Network? Yeah?
- 40:36Speaker 1: For four years? Yeah? Were we on it? Were me
- 40:39Speaker 1: and Ryan on it? No? Well you were, so I
- 40:42Speaker 1: was hosting a show around that show. So, um, you
- 40:47Speaker 1: guys came on Bingo not Bingo, the Lingo Blitz, Bingo
- 40:52Speaker 1: Blitz or something like that, and I was hosting was Lingo.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that's funny. It was Shandy Finnissy Sandy Fantasy. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:01Speaker 1: from Dancing with the Start. Well, she was on Dancing
- 41:03Speaker 1: with the Stars, but she was also a Miss USA.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I believe she. Andy was awesome. Yeah, she She actually
- 41:08Speaker 1: was a frequent guest on my show back then too.
- 41:11Speaker 1: And yeah, you know I'm saying though, I mean, I
- 41:13Speaker 1: think I started working with the view right away, and
- 41:15Speaker 1: actually Oprah, Oprah was a big part of that. Oprah
- 41:18Speaker 1: put a mic in my hand and made me her
- 41:19Speaker 1: man on the street. You know, so before I was
- 41:21Speaker 1: even the Bachelor, I did like I did like ten
- 41:24Speaker 1: episodes where I'd be like Oprah's man on the Street.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Hey it's Bob, you know, Trista's love loser here in
- 41:29Speaker 1: the streets of Chicago. You know. It was fun, you know,
- 41:35Speaker 1: I mean, it was really a fun gig. But but
- 41:37Speaker 1: you're right. I mean I think I think they're probably
- 41:39Speaker 1: I'm I'm super unaware of everything I'm oblivious to. Like
- 41:43Speaker 1: I just think everybody and I are best friends. So
- 41:45Speaker 1: I probably didn't pick up on it, and it was there. Uh,
- 41:48Speaker 1: you know, you're probably a little more tuned into real
- 41:51Speaker 1: life and not with your head in the clouds like me.
- 41:53Speaker 1: So I think, Um, you know, I definitely remember thinking
- 41:56Speaker 1: to myself, like I, I would hear it a lot
- 41:59Speaker 1: when I would do a show and they go, man,
- 42:01Speaker 1: we kind of expected you to be like a prima donna,
- 42:03Speaker 1: and you're actually really fun to hang out with them. Yeah,
- 42:09Speaker 1: I've gotten that a lot too. But I feel like
- 42:12Speaker 1: so in back in the day, I feel like the
- 42:14Speaker 1: route for some of us, you and I included, was
- 42:18Speaker 1: to go into some kind of television hosting in a way.
- 42:22Speaker 1: There weren't podcasts back then. There were radio shows. Um,
- 42:26Speaker 1: but that was kind of a little bit of what
- 42:30Speaker 1: people would do with it, because some were like me,
- 42:33Speaker 1: I feel like, and they just thought it was a
- 42:35Speaker 1: really fun industry and they had never been, um, you know,
- 42:38Speaker 1: involved in it before. And then there were some that,
- 42:41Speaker 1: of course I'm sure they went on the show, they
- 42:43Speaker 1: were actors prior they were they were hosts or in
- 42:47Speaker 1: some way, shape or form in journalism or entertainment, and
- 42:52Speaker 1: they went that direction. So it's kind of similar. But
- 42:55Speaker 1: obviously nowadays, I feel like when you go on the show,
- 43:01Speaker 1: you're immediately changing your account to something that people will follow,
- 43:06Speaker 1: and you know, you're putting it in your bio and
- 43:10Speaker 1: all of those things, because let's be honest, that the
- 43:14Speaker 1: opportunities that are there, it's like silly, like why wouldn't
- 43:18Speaker 1: you For those people that came off the show, I don't.
- 43:22Speaker 1: I as a kind of more traditional and I say
- 43:26Speaker 1: traditional even though I met my husband and got engaged
- 43:28Speaker 1: after six weeks, But as a more traditional person, I
- 43:32Speaker 1: would like for people to go on the show with
- 43:35Speaker 1: the intent of forming a relationship if they end up
- 43:40Speaker 1: liking the person and having a connection. But that's not
- 43:44Speaker 1: to say that they can't after the show think, oh well,
- 43:48Speaker 1: if a bunch of people are following me and I
- 43:50Speaker 1: have these opportunities, then you know, what do you go for? Ye? Well,
- 43:54Speaker 1: I just said, I mean you can't you know, there
- 43:57Speaker 1: before the grace of God. Right. So it's like with
- 43:59Speaker 1: so much of are things that happened in our lives,
- 44:01Speaker 1: it's like, all you can do is control how you
- 44:03Speaker 1: would respond to that situation until you're in it. Until
- 44:05Speaker 1: you're in it, you don't know how you're gonna respond, right. So,
- 44:08Speaker 1: I mean, at the end of the day, you know,
- 44:09Speaker 1: if you're getting a bunch of opportunities throwing at you,
- 44:11Speaker 1: which generally include some type of financial compensation, and you know,
- 44:16Speaker 1: you're you know, you're someone who's from you know, like
- 44:19Speaker 1: like I mean wherever it is America, and you're like,
- 44:21Speaker 1: oh my god, this could be so fun, you know,
- 44:23Speaker 1: or Wow, this could be very or maybe I could
- 44:26Speaker 1: make this a career. You never know, and you've got
- 44:28Speaker 1: to take advantage of those opportunities. And so I don't
- 44:31Speaker 1: hate on anybody for that kind of stuff, you know,
- 44:32Speaker 1: I think I think it's uh what I think is interesting.
- 44:35Speaker 1: One of the questions we got to, which I think
- 44:37Speaker 1: is pretty interesting, was nowadays contestants leave the show and
- 44:40Speaker 1: are considered celebrities. Was this the case for you to
- 44:45Speaker 1: the people who know who you were when they saw
- 44:46Speaker 1: you in public? And I would answer this one, um
- 44:49Speaker 1: definitely about the being noticed in public thing, like you know,
- 44:53Speaker 1: it went. It was an overnight thing, um to the
- 44:55Speaker 1: point where I think I told you I ended up
- 44:57Speaker 1: like getting a brush cut at one point because my
- 44:59Speaker 1: big curling mop. You know, they either thought I was honestly,
- 45:02Speaker 1: they thought I was Bachelor Bob or I was Joe
- 45:04Speaker 1: Millionaire because Evan marry out of the time. So it
- 45:07Speaker 1: was like, I was like, God, you know, this is crazy.
- 45:09Speaker 1: But it was fun because everyone was always so nice.
- 45:11Speaker 1: You know. I never was one of those people. And
- 45:14Speaker 1: then you'd meet those people and I'm sure this still happens.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I'm sure this still happens you because I know it
- 45:17Speaker 1: still happens to me. Were they, Oh, I never watched
- 45:20Speaker 1: that show. I don't watch those stupid reality shows. Can
- 45:22Speaker 1: I get a picture? And You're like, how do you whatever?
- 45:27Speaker 1: I'm like, why if you didn't never watch it, how
- 45:28Speaker 1: do you even know who I am? That's kind of weird. Yeah,
- 45:30Speaker 1: you know, it's like a big At the same time,
- 45:33Speaker 1: they're like, yeah, you're not You're not that important, but
- 45:35Speaker 1: I'm going to spend my time talking to you. And
- 45:37Speaker 1: I will say, like back then, you know, when we
- 45:39Speaker 1: were doing the shows, it was it was so early
- 45:42Speaker 1: on in reality television in general that you know, um my,
- 45:46Speaker 1: my thought of it was always and this was especially
- 45:49Speaker 1: after I was done with the show and I and
- 45:51Speaker 1: I met my now ex wife, but she was an
- 45:52Speaker 1: established actress and stuff. I didn't ever want to be
- 45:55Speaker 1: like I always thought, now, she's a she's a celebrity, right,
- 45:59Speaker 1: I'm just I'm a I'm a personality that people know
- 46:02Speaker 1: who they are, you know, And so I always categorized
- 46:04Speaker 1: myself like that, and um, you know, and and but
- 46:08Speaker 1: but it was amazing, you know, the fact that so
- 46:10Speaker 1: many people did watch it. I mean, you know, Oprah
- 46:12Speaker 1: was such a fan of your season, which led her
- 46:15Speaker 1: to be a big fan of me thankfully, which which
- 46:19Speaker 1: I felt like she you know, was truly a friend.
- 46:21Speaker 1: And it was like amazing to me to be in
- 46:24Speaker 1: a situation with Oprah where she's like, hey, Bob, and
- 46:27Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, oh, how are you know? And it
- 46:29Speaker 1: was really you know, and let back on in. You know,
- 46:33Speaker 1: Ellen de General has had us on a ton, you know,
- 46:36Speaker 1: and all these I mean, I did, I know you
- 46:38Speaker 1: did as well. I did every time I worked for
- 46:39Speaker 1: the View for three years, I did all the renovation
- 46:42Speaker 1: stuff and it was just fun and interesting and different.
- 46:45Speaker 1: But I never I never thought of myself as a celebrity.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I thought of myself as someone who um person personality,
- 46:52Speaker 1: who thankfully people liked from the show, you know, and
- 46:55Speaker 1: so I never ran into problems with it, which was nice, right. No,
- 46:59Speaker 1: I I felt the same way. And any time we're
- 47:02Speaker 1: brought up as being celebrities or a question is asked
- 47:05Speaker 1: about how do you feel about being a celebrity, I'm like,
- 47:08Speaker 1: you know, celebrities like you know, I don't know about
- 47:13Speaker 1: that term, but personality, I yeah, media personality, I guess,
- 47:18Speaker 1: is what you would say. Because we're from reality television,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I see more celebrities as like movie stars or rock
- 47:25Speaker 1: stars or you know, like legit movie stars and rock
- 47:29Speaker 1: stars you know, that have dedicated themselves to their career
- 47:34Speaker 1: for their entire life. And I just happened to be
- 47:37Speaker 1: on a reality show where I ended up meeting this
- 47:40Speaker 1: great guy. We get married, and people enjoyed listening or
- 47:42Speaker 1: watching the story unfold. You know that's it. Um. I
- 47:45Speaker 1: am very thankful. Yeah, And I always say I got
- 47:49Speaker 1: to hand out flowers and I was that great guy,
- 47:51Speaker 1: that great guy that you didn't marry. That that was me, right, yeah,
- 47:55Speaker 1: I mean we're very great. What wait wait I missed it.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Oh no, I said, I said I on your show.
- 48:02Speaker 1: I was that great guy that you didn't marry p s.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, anyway, you know like I mean, I said, yeah, right,
- 48:09Speaker 1: I mean, that's this is reality. I did that married.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love that. This has been enlightening
- 48:17Speaker 1: to me. Like I feel like I've learned a lot today.
- 48:19Speaker 1: People answer your calls, they don't answer mine. These are
- 48:21Speaker 1: good things. Stuff it right now. Yes, we tied. What
- 48:24Speaker 1: are you talking about? We tied only because I did
- 48:27Speaker 1: a bonus consolation round for myself. If we would have
- 48:30Speaker 1: never tied, that I had done that. It's because he
- 48:33Speaker 1: texted you back, because you had the wherewithal to actually
- 48:37Speaker 1: text him and say we're trying to call you, so
- 48:40Speaker 1: he calls you back anyway. Yeah, it's so fun. I
- 48:43Speaker 1: do want to end on. I am really grateful for
- 48:46Speaker 1: the show and the opportunities that that we had along
- 48:49Speaker 1: the way, Like like getting to meet people like Ellen
- 48:52Speaker 1: and Oprah and doing um, you know, award shows and things.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I mean, back in the day, we went to the
- 48:59Speaker 1: iHeart um jingle Ball I think it was the jing
- 49:02Speaker 1: Ball um and I got to announce like Nellie and
- 49:06Speaker 1: I'm from St. Louis, so getting to announce Nellie like
- 49:10Speaker 1: was super cool, you know. So anyway, those kind of
- 49:14Speaker 1: opportunities were so much fun. I'm so grateful for them.
- 49:17Speaker 1: And obviously we wouldn't be here today talking to each
- 49:21Speaker 1: other and people in podcast world, um, if that hadn't happened.
- 49:26Speaker 1: So I'm really grateful, and um, thank you my heart,
- 49:30Speaker 1: and thank you bout Ginny, and thank you everyone for listening.
- 49:34Speaker 1: See you're so good at this. I love you. Know
- 49:36Speaker 1: you should have a podcast. I think you really do
- 49:40Speaker 1: right on. But yes, thank you for listening everybody. And uh,
- 49:44Speaker 1: and you know, do we are we allowed to give
- 49:47Speaker 1: proper love to Amy Sugarman, who I adore, but I
- 49:50Speaker 1: would love to give proper love to Amy Sugarman. Actually,
- 49:53Speaker 1: so I was with her as you know, this past
- 49:55Speaker 1: week and we actually took a picture. I don't think
- 49:59Speaker 1: I have any other pictures with Sugarman, even though I've
- 50:01Speaker 1: known her since the beginning. Like Sugarman, if you're listening,
- 50:05Speaker 1: which she will be, she'll be reading them the dictation afterwards.
- 50:11Speaker 1: So Sugarman, when you're reading the dictation, will you look
- 50:14Speaker 1: back at the Seacrest Show or any shows that I
- 50:17Speaker 1: did with you Valentine, you know, all of those things
- 50:21Speaker 1: and see if we have a picture because I need
- 50:23Speaker 1: a picture of us from forever ago. That's such a
- 50:27Speaker 1: legacy she had already. Man, she does crushes it. But
- 50:31Speaker 1: I mean I loved her. I loved her then, I
- 50:33Speaker 1: love her now. And you know what, I always loved
- 50:35Speaker 1: Ryan Seacrest. He was he was a big when when
- 50:39Speaker 1: the show first came off the air, when my season
- 50:42Speaker 1: just ended, I should say and and I went on.
- 50:45Speaker 1: You know, the thing I loved about Ryan is he
- 50:46Speaker 1: would talk about clearly he had a great producer, um
- 50:50Speaker 1: and and Amy Sugarman and everything else that she did
- 50:53Speaker 1: for him, because I mean, he would know stuff that
- 50:55Speaker 1: so many people didn't like. The homework was done, you know,
- 50:57Speaker 1: and he'd be like, yeah, Bob, you were an establish
- 50:59Speaker 1: MU show before you were ever even on the beach
- 51:01Speaker 1: Serette this, you know, And I'm like, thanks, man. Whereas
- 51:04Speaker 1: everyone else. I would go on the show and they go, so,
- 51:06Speaker 1: what you hand out a flower? You think you can sing?
- 51:08Speaker 1: I'm like, no, it's kind of not the order. But
- 51:10Speaker 1: you know, it's like on Tonight Show. I don't know
- 51:13Speaker 1: if you ever went on Tonight Show, but I did.
- 51:15Speaker 1: My band played on there. Yeah, oh that's amazing. But
- 51:18Speaker 1: he I went on there. I was with all the
- 51:20Speaker 1: women of the view, including Barbara Walters and and then
- 51:23Speaker 1: another time, and I swear he looked right past me
- 51:27Speaker 1: through like you know, he could have cared less that
- 51:30Speaker 1: I was sitting in his chair when we did when
- 51:34Speaker 1: we did j show, he did um. We had banded
- 51:37Speaker 1: from TV on there, and you know he was Hugh
- 51:40Speaker 1: Laurie was the actual guest that night. So and he
- 51:43Speaker 1: was in my band. You know, we're in we're in
- 51:44Speaker 1: the Bandgether. He you know, to all the guys in
- 51:47Speaker 1: the crowd. I mean, we had James Denton from Desperate
- 51:49Speaker 1: Housewives and all the guys from Heroes, we had myself,
- 51:52Speaker 1: we had, you know, all these different people. He only
