- 0:08SPEAKER_02: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the very first episode of Sports Minds with your new hosts, MJG and the Birdman.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Birdman, how you doing today, brother?
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Doing great, MJG.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Always, always, man.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: I'm just excited it's football season.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Starting with our first three busts from 2022.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Manny, who you got first?
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, the first my first bust.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: So I'm I'm I'm gonna start from my um my uh least of the three busts was Mr.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Brian Robinson last year.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Um and he had 112 points last year.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: I thought he was gonna be a stud.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: I grabbed him in the ninth round.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: I was like, Brian Robinson is the next big thing for Washington because uh Antonio Gibson was, of course, you know, being left out on a back burner.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Um, but he had 112 points last year uh for the whole season, and it's not like he didn't get the touches, he got 17.8 touches a game.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, it wasn't like he was a lack of volume, he only averaged 9.3, which for a guy touching the ball 17 times to get nine points is very inefficient.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: You know, he he did he did average 71.4 touches a game, or excuse me, 71.4 yards a game, but if he's not getting any targets and he's not getting any touchdowns, I mean it just ended up being a bad play for me.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: How about you, Bird, man?
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: What what was your your third worst bus?
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Well, one thing I did just want to add to Brian Robinson is you know, he did get shot too.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it was a s it was a little slow start for him.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: You know, you got to get some slack there.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: I forgot about that shot, shot in the leg, man.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, shot in his leg or his ass or something.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: Reminiscent of Sean Taylor, another Redskin that was shot.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, he passed away, you know.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: So yeah, you know, he he definitely battled back and had a solid, you know, solid season for backup, but he wasn't anywhere near where he should have been.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, I I had him on a uh couple teams as well, and um that definitely affected uh my season.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: But my first bust, I know this is kind of obvious, and uh, and a lot of people will agree with me on this, but Jonathan Taylor, you know, he obviously wasn't healthy when he came back from injury, so he played 11 games, but you know, I don't think he was ever back to full health.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: So, you know, he had almost 200 attempts and he was still well under a thousand yards.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Uh didn't get too many receptions, and um, you know, only four touchdowns to close out the season.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: It was, you know, for the number one pick across the board, it was very, very difficult to have him on your roster and just watch him week after week hit really, really poor numbers.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, he averaged 13 points per game, and you can you can take that for an RB2 or a flex, but as your top dog, your your number one pick overall, it's unbelievable.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: You know, and it was that was tough.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I only had him on one team, but that was tough, and I did not do well in that league.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and and and you're right about that.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: I was looking at his numbers here, and he did he averaged 20 touches a game, uh, touches per game.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Like he he had the volume there, and you're right, 13 points, and he had a thousand yards, he was averaging 90 yards a game, so it wasn't like he wasn't producing the games he was there, he just wasn't getting that those touchdowns.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: And it seemed like it was pretty much spread out.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: So, but you're right, if you're taking a guy top five overall, he needs to produce better than that.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: Um, I definitely agree with that.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, it's it's something as as I said before, your your number one pick, you want 20 plus points every game.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: You expect that with your number one pick.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: You expect that basically from everyone that's going in the first round.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, oh yeah, definitely.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: So who do you have uh as your second bust of 2022?
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: Um, so for me, next bust I have over here is um Mr.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Javante Williams.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: Um, he's another guy drafted high, right?
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: He ended up being uh ADP was a second round, right?
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: So he's going in about the middle of the second round.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: And I was super bullish on the guy.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, the year before he was behind Melvin Gordon, and I was like, all right, this is gonna be the time when he finally breaks out, right?
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: No more Melvin Gordon shadow, shadow.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: He's the main guy now.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: And unfortunately, uh last year he he only had 42 points.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Randy, he tore his ACL, right?
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: Uh, I think week number four or five.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Um, he was he only played um last year, he played four games, right?
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: So week four, he tore his ACL.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: And um, in those touches, he averaged 12 touches per game um and 10.5 points per game, which wasn't, you know, it's not disappointing if you're looking at RB three.
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: But if a guy is going in second, third round, he has to be an RB, you know, two borderline one.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: So for him to only get you know 70 yards per game and going in the second round, like he was wildly inefficient, and of course, you know, didn't help tearing his ACL.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: So that was my second bust.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you know what about you?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: The the thing is uh injuries.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, but you know, if we're talking busts, yeah, we're gonna include injuries, and that leads me to Kyle Pitts.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Kyle Pitts only played in 10 games, that's my number two bust.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: He only played in 10 games, you know, he was never really producing while he was healthy, though.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: So, you know, he finished with two touchdowns and had 350 yards, averaged seven and a half points per game.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: You can find any tight end on the waiver on the waiver wire that's gonna give you that.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: So, you know, for for a guy that's supposed to be, you know, he was coming into the he did really well in 2021 for a rookie, really high expectations going into 2022, and far fell far below.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Even even if he stayed healthy, he was far behind his pace in 2021.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: So, you know, and in 2021, he only scored one touchdown.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: In 2022, he he scored two.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: And for a guy that had so much hype coming into the season, that's just 350 yards, 10 games, two TDs, seven and a half points.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: That's a bust.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: And and I'm one of those guys that was actually anti-Kyle Pitts last year because his rookie year, he did have about 800 yards.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: You're right, one touchdown.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: He's getting a lot of double teams, and even last year, I saw Drake London coming in.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: I was like, you know, I don't think that's gonna take the heat off the guys, you know, because it wasn't a good enough team for him to produce.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: And and for his ADP, he was going in his rookie season, he was going around three or four.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: Same thing last year, through a third or fourth round for a tight end that you know has you know all this potential.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, most people forget that you know, tight ends are just the most un you know, inefficient position in football, you know, besides kickers.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: So it's like, why invest that high in a guy, you know, a skill set that's gonna only get you 10 points a game is beyond me.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: You know, I don't know.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: And I only had him on one team, and I I traded for him about midseason because you know, the other guy in my league gave up on him.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: And I thought, you know what?
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna see what he can do.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Maybe he's gonna come in hungry.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: I was wrong.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: Um, and of course, now we get down to the top, the were the worst bust or bad call of last year that you had.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: And and and for me, I'll be honest, this is not a guy that was a bust at all.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: It was just a guy I completely missed on, and I will take full accountability for it.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: So last year, I was one of those guys that said, do not touch Christian Kirk.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: Like, stay the hell away from him.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: And I know you were the opposite, you were a guy bullish on him, but man, that guy last year, I was like, Man, he was never healthy in Arizona.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: He's gonna come to Jacksonville, he's gonna not be healthy again.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: He's a slot guy, like he's not even I didn't even think he was that great.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Like, he has some great games in Arizona, but I was like, I I I don't buy into him.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: And of course, he was super efficient last year.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: He averaged he only averaged 65 yards per game, but he did average 7.8 touches or targets per game for a receiver, and uh, and in those 7.8 targets, he had 14 points, which is super efficient, you know, because he ended up scoring 241 for the season.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: So, and this guy was ADP was like ninth for 10th round.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: So that was my biggest blunder of last year.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: You have anything to say about that?
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you know, I I completely understand why people were skeptical about him because you know he had I think I think the first three years in Arizona, he I don't think he ever played a full season, but you know, the last the or maybe his last year he did, I can't remember.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: But I know last year he played every game, and he was he was efficient and he was consistent enough where you would feel comfortable starting him.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: He might not get you 20 plus, but you know he's gonna get you 10 or 15 without a doubt.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, I I just thought he was on a much better offense, and being the wide receiver one, I just figured there's no way around some steady production, and and that turned out to be the case.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: So I I did have him in a few leagues, and I'm I'm gonna be looking for him again this year for sure.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: All right, and what's your uh top bus, man?
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Right, and and you know this because this was in uh your league where I had Lamar Jackson, and um I got lucky mid season by picking up Justin Fields, but until I had him, that was a stressful situation.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: You're taking Lamar, you expect him to be running, you expect him if he's not throwing the ball, he's gonna make up with it, make up for it with his legs.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, when when you compare him to the other guys going around the same time, you know, those top five quarterbacks, he was well below them.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: Um he finished with yeah, he was a third or third or fourth round ADP.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: And you you know, you're taking a quarterback at that level, you're expecting them to have close to 4,000 yards.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Uh he had he had 2,242 pass yards, 764 rush yards, 17 touchdowns.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: He did average 20 fantasy points per game, but we know he had a couple monster games that kind of skewed that that whole number.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: So and he was also injured.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: You know, we like I said, we keep bringing up injuries, but um, you know, he only played 12 games.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: When you're coming back from injury, you never fully trust them until you see it, and we didn't see it.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: So the entire season was a bust for Lamar.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: So who you got for your booms in 2022?
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Who who uh came off the board and impressed you?
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: Oh man, I uh I had some guys that I uh and I want to talk about booms because this is something I was super bullish on.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: I'm super happy about because uh last year I was on the Brees Hall hype train.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: That's my number three boom.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: I was all about Brees Hall.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: You know, you traded him to me.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: I went across the board.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: I went after week four, I went across the board to everybody that had Brees Hall sitting on their bench because Brees Hall did not get no burn in the first few games of the season.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: And everybody's like, who where's this guy going?
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: Michael Carter's a guy, right?
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Because I think Michael Carter had a couple big games.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: And I was like, you know what?
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Let me get Brees Hall.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: I still believe in him.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: It's by low right now.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: And sure enough, as soon as I got him, like around week five or six, man, that guy just started going off.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: And he ended up, he um, in that short time, he only played a limited amount of games.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: Brees Hall ended up tearing his ACL.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Uh I want to say it was around week number seven against the Broncos.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: I remember watching a game.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: He had like a 60-yard rush for a touchdown in the first drive of the game, and then I was like, oh, Brees Hall's about to give me a 30 or 40 bomber.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: And then all of a sudden, the those cheap shot and Broncos hit this man low on his knees going into the sideline, and the rest was history, man.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: He walked off and and he was killing it.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: He was averaging 14 touches a game, so he wasn't getting like ridiculous volume, but 97.2 yards per game, 16.4 points per game, and he had 115 points in just like three or four games of starting, it was amazing.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: I felt like I was a the I was when you looked at my team, I was so stacked.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: I had I had him, I had like um, I had a couple other guys that I'm gonna mention here in a little bit, but I had some uh uh uh work, I had four running backs that were all starters and studs, and I was like, you know, this championship is mine until it was and that's the thing is you you had I remember you had I think you had ATN as well, and um, you know, you were rolling, and of course I was still high on Brees Hall, you know, that was a difficult trade for me to make.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, and the only reason it worked out for me is because he got injured.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm not I don't like to see it work out for me in that sense.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: So um he was rolling, I was high on him, and um, I'm still high on him going into this year.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I think he's gonna be a monster.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: And who was that trade again?
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I gave it was uh I know I gave you Derrick Henry, and you gave me Brees Hall and a wide receiver.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: It was like I gave you Waddle too.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: And though and and he he was a guy that he for every draft I did, Waddle was just hanging out there for so long that I was like, I I feel like I have to take him, but he was injured.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but he was injured, so everyone was staying away from him because they weren't sure what was going on, including me.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: But then I felt like, well, damn, he's still here.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: I gotta take him.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And that happened in a few leagues for me.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: And I don't like having you know five leagues with the same player, so I did trade him to you reluctantly because he was producing when I traded him to you, and I wasn't sure I wasn't sure if I wanted to trade him or Brees, but I wanted Derrick Henry so bad that I made the trade and it and it did not work out for me for a couple weeks.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: The only like I said, the only reason it did is because of that injury.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: But Waddle and Derrick Henry both just kept eating the rest of the season.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: But but to piggyback on uh yeah, to to piggyback on those rookie running backs that impressed the hell out of me, Damian Pierce.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I was high on him going into the season and uh you know turned out to be right.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: He did get a little slow towards the end of the season, but you know, you got to think about the fact that he was the entire team.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: He was just he had 220 rushing attempts, almost a thousand yards uh rushing.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: He had 940 rushing yards, 30 catches, 165 receiving yards, and five touchdowns, averaging 13 points a game for a rookie on a sh on a shit team.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: That's impressive as hell.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean he was up and down.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Uh, there were some weeks I wasn't confident putting him in, and there were a couple leagues where I had him and I traded him.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Um and and you know, the thing is, uh the situation he was in was difficult because you knew they were running the ball.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: You were worried about you know, defenses just basically stuffing the run and not having to worry about the pass.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And that did happen a few times.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: But overall, he still put up really solid numbers, better than I expected, and uh that was definitely a boom for me.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, and that's funny.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: I I actually left I I didn't have room to put him on my list.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: I have a couple other guys that put him up there, but the that league that I had Brees Hall, I had him in both leagues.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: I also had Damian Pierce in that league as well.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: I loved him.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: And you're right, he fell off the second half of the season, but you know, in the first half, I felt like unstoppable.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: Yes, and and and and and the guy that made the list over Damian Pierce that I had to put on there was another guy, you know, I was going around the same, you know, uh he went a little bit earlier, I think around one round earlier was uh Travis Etienne.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: He was a fourth round ADP, right?
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: And uh last year he had 205 points.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: Um he averaged 12 points a game, which is not amazing by any means, but it's still solid, right?
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Because he was an R R B two, RB3, and then uh he was getting 15 touches a game, so his volume was there.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: The reason why he wasn't that efficient is because his touchdowns weren't there.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Um last year he ended up having only five touchdowns.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: So for a guy that's getting 15 touches a game, he just wasn't getting any goal line work.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: So unfortunately, he but he was he was making up for that by getting a lot of you know a good amount of passes.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: I think obviously he didn't he didn't get the passes that he should have because you know the Jaguars ended up going pretty past heavy in the the second half, and they were going a lot to Zay Jones and uh Evan Ingram, right?
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: And of course your boy Christian Kirk.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: So um I think overall he ended up bouncing back, but for him to go you know averaged 84 point 84 yards a game and go into fourth round, he was a guy that I I was really big on.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: I know, and I remember you were high on him, and I was not, and I was wrong, and uh I remember you offered me a tra I can't remember what the trade was, but I remember you offered me a trade with him and James Robinson.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: You offered me a two for one, and I turned it down, and I remember about three weeks after I turned it down, I was like, man, you were right looking back on that.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: I was that that one hurt because uh yeah, I just I I doubted him and I was wrong, and you know, it's something that happens with fantasy football to every one of us every season, and that's what makes it fun.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: But I was not he was not on my radar.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: I thought he was being overhyped.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Turned out he he should have gotten he got all the hype he deserved, and um I I do think this is gonna be kind of uh an interesting season for him because you know a lot of people are still down on him thinking that he might not get the goal line work.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: But um I I think I think he's gonna have another good year.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I mean if obviously that's for another, you know, we'll dive in deeper later on down the line, but I believe that he um if you grab him, you have to handcuff him, you know, just because you know that that's the thing is that Doug Peterson, former foot Philadelphia Eagles coach, of course, he was uh a big committee guy in Philly, right?
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: And that's how we won our Super Bowl.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: You know, it's Doug Peterson and his committee.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: And so and if you watch Travis CTM, he was like one like I they highlight he was like the fourth least efficient runner in the goal line with like over, you know, I think it was like 10 goal line carries.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: And it wasn't and it wasn't because he wasn't good.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: The Jaguars just weren't putting him in a good position.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: The O-line was trash, yeah, and then the play calling was trash.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: You're running a goal line with a little running back, and you're not putting a freaking fullback to block for him, and you're not doing twin tight end, you're not doing any jumbo sets, no twin tight end sets, you're not doing any eye formations, you're just strictly doing a uh a single back set or split back set and and and just running him into there thinking that defense is gonna get caught off guard.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: That's not gonna work.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Not with that O line.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Trust me, I I had the same problem with Matt Canada watching watching the way he would run plays, and we um we're stuck with him again this year.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: It's the same same thing.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: I had the same emotions as you.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: That's funny.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: That's funny.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: And then who's your next guy?
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: Who's your second uh boomer last year, man?
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: This is your boy, and then and this is another one that maybe it's not a boom because maybe it was obvious, but I think he outperformed, I think he outperformed expectations by a lot because you know there were some people talking shit on Jalen Hurts.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we all we all knew he was gonna be good, but I don't think anyone knew how good he was gonna be.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: You know, everyone was saying, you know, he's a mobile quarterback, yeah, but he can't throw the ball.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Well, he can throw the ball, he proved that he can throw the ball, he was unbelievable with his legs, but he did great with his arm, and um he proved everyone wrong.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, he had 15 games, 3,700 pass yards, 760 rush yards, and 22 touchdowns, averaging 25 and a half fantasy points a game.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: That's exceeding what everyone expected.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: They thought he was gonna be a good quarterback, not a great quarterback.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Um, he started strong.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Not a top three.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Not a top three.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: And I think he has the potential to be the top quarterback this year.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: And I know that's a bold statement, not taking anything away from Patrick Mahomes.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: He is the best, he is the GOAT, but I think there is a chance that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: That Jalen Hurts could finish at number one.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: If he does, you know, you also got to keep in mind he he played two less games than Mahomes.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And um he started strong, he finished strong, he's got tons of weapons.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: And um I I still don't think he's getting the credit he deserves going into this year, but um he's gonna prove everyone wrong again.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: The dude's a monster.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: He's young, he's a freak athlete, he's got a great arm, great legs, and great weapons all around him.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: And uh not not to be uh a biased Eagles fan or anything, but looking at his stats last year, he scored PPR League, of course, uh 395 points, and and Mahomes had 417.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: So that means that Mahomes outscored him by 22 points, and that's in two games.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: And these guys were both averaging over 20, 24, 25 points per game.
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: Actually, Hertz was averaging around 26 and Mahomes 24.5.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: So, I mean, he was extremely efficient, and uh, and this year, I I love him, obviously, not just as an Eagles fan, but if you look at all these people talking about like the reason why people are so low on him is because he's a Philadelphia Eagle, man.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Eagles get more hate than any freaking team in the league.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: We they don't like us and we don't care because we get out there and we just take their fucking lunch and we push their face in the dirt and we make them eat the shit that they try to feed us, right?
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Like this is your shit sandwich.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Eat it, Mofer.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you guys got some unruly fans.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: I've been to a couple Eagles games.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: I wasn't I wasn't treated very well, but I was enjoying it still.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think if you if you keep the a certain line, but even even at those games, man, there's obnoxious people I would have to do.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, no, it was you know it was all good fun, you know, just talking shit.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, you know, I got I got too many friends from Philly that that are uh you know all about it.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: They they love that environment, and and I eat it up too, man.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: But uh Jay Jalen Hurts is a monster.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: He's going to perform, in my opinion, just as good or better than he did last year.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: You you know, he's only been in the league a couple years, and he's already putting up ridiculous numbers, and he's he's very comfortable now.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: You know, the biggest Jalen Hurts slander is um right now James Jones, a former wide receiver for Green Bay Packers, is talking about Justin Fields is better than Jalen Hurts.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Jalen Hurts is not that good.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, how can you sit there and watch this man carry a team to the Super Bowl and and put on one of the best performances in Super Bowl history and still lose and say that he's not that great?
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: Like it's it's just and Jalen Hurts eats it up.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: He comes in and he's like, you know what?
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: I'm we weren't we weren't good enough, we'll be better next year.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: Instead of making up excuses, he eats it up just like he did all his career, and he's just gonna keep getting better, man.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you know, I agree on that.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Justin Fields is gonna be great too.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: I I think he's gonna have an awesome season.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Um but I but I think Jalen Hurts is going to have a much better season.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: That's how that's how hard.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: Jalen Hurts is better.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's a better person.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: Everybody out there, Jalen Hurts is better.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: I don't want to hear that crap.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: Don't come in my chat at me, dog.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: I'll I'll I'll come see you in a year.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Hey, we're I I'm I'm real high on Jalen Hurts and Justin Fields, but we we all know who's going first in drafts, you know?
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, who's gonna be off the board first?
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: We already know that.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: So who you got as your your uh third guy?
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Um, third guy.
- 25:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, so this is a guy that I um I saw a lot of potential in, and I loved his ADP.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: In my opinion, he was one of the most undervalued players last year for his draft, and uh he went later than these guys I listed, and his name is the Ram Stevenson, Ramondre.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: And if you take away the second half, is R H A M Ram.
- 25:53SPEAKER_02: He's a Ram because he was just running motherfuckers over all day long.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: He had 249 points last year.
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: He uh he averaged 16.4 touches per game, obviously 14.6 points because he didn't have a lot of touchdowns, but 85.9 uh actual yards per game, and that was because he didn't take over the starting job to later on in the season.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: I think it was around you know, mid, you know, close to midseason when he took over because you know Damian Harris was injured again.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: So that's and no one expected that he was the RB2.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, he was a seventh rounder.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah ADP was seventh round last year.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: Even when amazing, even when Damian Harris came back, people were still talking about Ramondre like he was the RB2.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: But he was like by that point, it was pretty clear that he was the top runner.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, I mean he was care he was on a committee for the first half of the season, and then when Harris went down, he took over and and you know was was pretty much a bell cow back, and uh you know, I'm not exactly sure what to expect with Zeke this year, but um I don't think it's gonna be too much of an issue.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: I don't think Zeke is the same guy.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: We've seen him put up dismal numbers the last couple years compared to the first couple years, and um I don't I don't think he's gonna muscle in on too much of the production from Ramondre.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: So I'm pretty high on him again this year.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: I I so I'm uh I'm a little bit worried with the Zeke position because Zeke last year actually had 12 touchdowns.
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: So he had he was actually one of the leading touchdown leaders last year.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: Like he was um one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: There's only twelve guys last year that had 10 or more touchdowns, you know.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: So um for him to get that, he was averaging.
- 27:57SPEAKER_02: 16.5 touches per game.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: A lot of people don't realize he was actually like getting a lot, he was only getting 12 points per game, so he wasn't an R he was an RB3, RB4 by all means.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: But 16 touches a game, he was wildly inefficient because he was only averaging 61 yards per game.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: But man, he when it came to that goal line, they were feeding him two, two, two times at least in that goal line trying to get it.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: And he, I mean, he he punched it in.
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: But uh, in in that regard, I I love Ramondre, and I was super bullish on him before the Zeke signing.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: So now, you know, uh, I think his um his his his floor is still there, but I think his ceiling, they just took the top off it, and he's no longer to me like I would never no longer consider him my RB1, which I was happy taking him in the third round as my best running back, but now I'm looking at other options, unfortunately, because of that.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: I I totally understand that.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: I it's it's actually very valid when you go over what Zeke did last year.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Um but I I just feel like Zeke's gas tank is running out.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: I I don't think he's I think Ramondre's going up and Zeke is going down, and I'm still pretty high on Ramondre.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: I think Zeke is gonna be more of a change of pace back than a committee.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: So I'm not as worried about Ramondre.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm still really high on him.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: Of course, don't get me wrong, the addition of Zeke does affect his draft position, and I'm not as high on him as I was, but I'm still pretty high on him.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: I get you.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: And um, I hear that.
- 29:35SPEAKER_02: Who's your who who's your top boom of last year?
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Um, well this this is another running back that the reason I love him is because uh I've had him for many years on many different teams, and that's Cordarell Patterson.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: Now he played really well in 2021, and people were shocked by that.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's a freak athlete, but you know, in previous years, even though he was such a stud, he wasn't putting up great numbers, he wasn't performing well, so everyone kind of forgot about him.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Then he came out in 2021, and everyone was like, damn, Corderell is you know acting like the old Cordell.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: And then I think in 2022, he still like was forgotten, you know, people weren't giving him they they weren't paying any attention to him, and he started off a lot better than he finished, but he started off on fire.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: Um you know, he he was not nearly as involved in the passing game in 2022 as he was in 2021, but he still scored 11 touchdowns, and um he did catch the ball a good bit.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, my main reason of him being a boom is because I feel like he was, you know, he was probably not even drafted in most most leagues.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Someone you pick up off the waiver wire, and you know, don't even really think about putting him in unless one of your running backs gets injured, which is what happened to me.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: And then he just started performing, and then all of a sudden everyone's you know trying to trade for him because the same thing happened in 2021.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: He was forgotten, and then all of a sudden he's one of the top running backs in the league, and everyone's trying to trade for him.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: That's that's the kind of guy I look for in a boom.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: Someone that's not even on the radar and then comes out week after week and scores touchdowns.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And that's what Corderell did.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, he he did fade off uh towards the end of the season, but he was on fire for the first half of the season and no one expected it.
- 31:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, he definitely he he did good.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: Uh, but Tyler Adgier kicking in the second half kind of took a lot of that, those touches too.
- 31:50SPEAKER_02: He was pretty efficient.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: But uh an honorable mention that we didn't even touch on today, Josh Jacobs was actually an ADP of fourth round last year, and I didn't get him in any of my leagues because he was going a little bit earlier than I was able to touch, and I didn't feel like I was missing out that much.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: I was like, I still had ETN and Brees Hall around that fourth round, so I was happy.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: Um, and of course, Damian Pierce around a fifth.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: But uh, you know, Josh Jacobs last year was a fourth rounder.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: That man was obviously the you know leading rusher last year.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: He ended up scoring freaking uh uh he had 23 touches per game, 19.2 uh points per game, 12 touchdowns, so he was really well balanced, and then you know, 328 points.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: He was actually third highest scorer last year, behind, of course, Eckler and McCaffrey.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: I absolutely agree.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: I'm actually surprised I didn't even put him on my list because I was I remember when one of my buddies drafted him, and you know, the whole league starts laughing.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: Wow, Josh Jacobs that early, man.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: You could have waited a couple rounds to pick him up, and then you know, dude's top running back in the league just every week putting up insane numbers, getting insane volume.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: He was not anywhere on my radar.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: I wanted nothing to do with him, and he was just crushing it every week.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: And uh, he's in a weird spot right now, but he'll be fine.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: He's gonna be a monster again this year, and um that's that's a great boom, man.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: He was he was a guy that he definitely wasn't forgotten, but was not getting any credit.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: No, and I think it's because new regime, Josh McDaniels, people were worried, you know, they were gonna run that committee, but yeah, you know, there was obviously nobody even worth it.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: Like they were drafted a rookie Zamir White, like he wasn't that great, and then they got Brandon Bolden from the Patriots.
- 33:33SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, those are all like third, fourth stream options, you know.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: There's not there was nothing behind him.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: That's so true.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, real quick, I just uh I want to make a correction.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: I ax I accidentally said that uh Corderell had 11 touchdowns.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: That was 2021.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: He only had eight last year, but still, yeah, for a guy that was forgotten, you know, still still.
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: I wasn't gonna correct you, but yeah, yeah, it was.
- 33:57SPEAKER_00: I was just I was just glancing down at the numbers.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh, you read 2021's numbers.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah just for the touchdowns.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: You're good.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: And uh now let's uh talk about draft strategy.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: So um, Joe, for the people out there that are new to this, you know, we would like to know what is it?
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: You've obviously won several leagues over the years, right?
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: So you know what you're doing, you take a very dedicated approach, as do I.
- 34:21SPEAKER_02: So, what is it that you would say as far as like your strategy or advice you would give these guys?
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: Well, my my strategy is probably something that I think most people would agree with.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: Um I am I am not a fan of the zero running back strategy, uh never have been.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: I don't even like seeing those videos, you know, that pop up on YouTube.
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: Zero RB strategy.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: I I don't even watch them.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: Um hot take.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: I always go with a running back first.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Now, don't get me wrong, if if my pick is you know towards the end, eighth or ninth, you know, and I still see someone that's an incredible wide receiver on the board, yeah, I'm gonna grab them.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: But generally speaking, I look for a running back in the first round.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: And you know, another thing that that I try to keep in mind, and this is during all rounds, is to stay away from players that are injury prone.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, there's there's quite a few people that were really high on DeAndre Swift last year.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: I stayed far away from him because he was injury prone.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: I knew he was gonna be getting injured again.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: Sure enough, he went down, and then all of a sudden Jamal Williams comes in and starts just cleaning up, taking every touchdown.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: Even when DeAndre Swift came back, it was a Jamal Williams show.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: And you know, that's that's it with even with Corderrell, I was just talking about.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: He only played 13 games, he got injured.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: Who knows if he if he finished the season, um, he might he might have had you know double-digit touchdowns.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of people that I really like as running backs that are injury prone, so I stay away from him.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: And I feel like if you stay away from injury-prone players and just keep it real basic as far as filling your roster.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: So if you go running back, then next round go wide receiver.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: If you go wide receiver, next next round go go running back, and and try to fill your spots and have a stud at each position.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Obviously, that's nearly impossible if uh you're looking for a tight end and the first three are gone.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: But generally speaking, you want a stud at every position, and I think that's doable with with the depth we have at at wide receiver, running back, and quarterback this year.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: You can get a stud, and then you can have someone that you're at least confident in for your RB2, your wide receiver two, and your flex.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: But I think you definitely want to have a stud at every position, which is why I try to stagger it with each round.
- 36:56SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: You know, that was actually the wrong answer.
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: The right answer is watch the fancy football sports minds podcast and do whatever they tell you to draft.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: That's the right answer, Joe.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: No, I'm just kidding.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: That's good advice.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: Good advice.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: I I agree with you.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: Stay the hell away from those inner injury prone guys, they're gonna they're gonna screw up your whole league.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: You don't want to be stressed on early round guys.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: You it's really it's really uncomfortable when you know I said stay away from DeAndre Swift, but I did I did somehow end up having him on uh I I got him in uh one league somehow.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: I think he was just hanging around way too long, and I figured I should take him.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Um but I traded him right before he got injured, and thank God.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: Because when you when you have these guys that everyone's like, yeah, they're great players, but and then they talk about their injuries, that's a huge red flag.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: You know, David Montgomery is another one where he is a fuck he is a monster when he gets the ball, but it's hard to trust him every week because you're worried about his injuries.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: And you know, there's there's too many players like that at wide receiver and running back that you know when you see a wide receiver getting up at age, when you see a running back getting up in age, that's another thing you got to keep in mind is they might be a little bit more prone to injury, they might lose a step, and just in a year, you can see them lose a step, and it'll make a huge difference when you're talking about people playing at the NFL level.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and uh my so for me, me personally, my my strategy has has evolved over the years.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: I was you know, who who wasn't a full running back type of guy, you know, five years ago, right?
- 38:33SPEAKER_02: Or later, you know, or or earlier, where you're just grabbing uh, you know, three running backs in the first five rounds, right?
- 38:39SPEAKER_02: Like that was the the approach before when the game was different, before you had all these committees, right?
- 38:45SPEAKER_02: Committees were few and far between back then.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: You had workhorses, that was it.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: So my my strategy has evolved, and I even tried the last few years to try to go heavy wide receiver, and uh, you know, that that worked somewhat, it didn't work.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, I was I'm really good at identifying talent later on for running backs in different positions, but I guess my my biggest advice for that would be you know, you go with you know best available, right?
- 39:13SPEAKER_02: And that sounds pretty generic and and vanilla when people say best available.
- 39:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but when you but when you look at it best available in a different way, you're not talking about what ESPN says is the best available or what you know all these other biased reporters are saying are the best available, because most of the time that stuff's smoke and mirrors, you know, the best available is you do your own research and you find out which guys are the most efficient, and that's why we're different from all these other podcasts because we're highlighted on certain things that people don't necessarily look at, you know, like touches per game, you know, and efficiency for points per game, right?
- 39:48SPEAKER_02: And of course, average draft position.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: Because if you got a guy that's you know, you know, people are forgetting about, like, for example, your boy James Connor, you know, somebody that he's not going into the fourth or fifth round, but when you look at his efficiency, he's getting 16 touches a game and averaging you know 15 points per game, and he's going into fifth or sixth round.
- 40:07SPEAKER_02: That's extremely great value.
- 40:09SPEAKER_02: So you want to get guys that are giving you uh more ceiling than than you know they're being credit given credit for.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: And so that's why I think it's all about adapting and changing your style because when you go to a draft with one strategy, you're gonna screw yourself.
- 40:25SPEAKER_02: You can't focus on one player, you gotta have three to four players you like per round, and you have to do enough mock drafts to know what players are gonna be around that round so you can build your team accordingly.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, and it definitely depends on your roster too.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: So, you know, you're saying take best available, and I'm saying absolutely think about best available, not just for your research, but for your roster.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: If you're in a league that has three wide receiver spots, then maybe you should take a wide receiver in the first round instead of a running back.
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: I just prefer the running back position because you know that position is more scarce than you know, all the volume you see at wide receiver.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: But you know, if you need three wide receivers on your roster, then you should probably look for a wide receiver the first round.
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: So a lot of it depends on how your roster's set up, but you got to do your research, fill your roster, spread out the uh the studs as wide receivers and running backs, and if you can, quarterback, and then you know, with tight end, that's something that's that's gonna probably uh be a roll of the dice, but you can do your research and find out who's looking better, and also um I'm I'm a little confident, a little more confident in some of the rookie tight ends that we've got coming up this season.
- 41:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean there's some good ones, but um for me, for like I was saying before, for a position that you're only getting 10 to 12 points a game, and you have to grab, for example, a tight end like you know, like uh that's averaging about 12 to 14, because the second best tight end was Andrews.
- 42:03SPEAKER_02: He was averaging 15 or 16 a game until he he started dropping down.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: But if you look at the the tight end position, uh for me personally, um, for example, looking at um, you know, let's say George Kittle, right?
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: Evan Ingram, guys that were pretty successful, George Kittle averaged 13.3 points per game, Evan Ingram 10.3 points per game.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: And these guys are going to sixth and seventh round.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: When I can have a wide receiver that got me, you know, can get me 13 to 15, you know, that's an extra three to five points per game.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: So to me, the ADP doesn't match the value.
- 42:36SPEAKER_02: So as far as that's concerned, what I like to do later rounds, which not everybody's a fan of, is I like to do my uh my handcuffs.
- 42:44SPEAKER_02: So I have certain players that I graded, and you folks can see our sheets.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: We're gonna put up our our draft sheets here so you kind of get an idea, but there's um each of our own draft sheets.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Um, but there's um players that I mark as you know volatile or like handcuffs, because you can't grab one without grabbing the other.
- 43:02SPEAKER_02: And if you if you're in a situation where you didn't get high quality running backs early and you're scrambling for running backs, you have to change your approach to be like, I would love to pick up this receiver this round, but now I have to pick up this guy, his handcuff back to back, because number one, I don't know who's gonna be the workhorse, or number two, I don't know if this guy's gonna be healthy.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: So if that's the case, you take 100% of the backfield versus risking 50 to 0% of the backfield, and that to me is just makes more sense.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and I do I do agree with the approach to taking a handcuff, but me personally, I try to stay away from being in that situation altogether.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: So I will try to find a team where you've got one workhorse running back and not much depth behind him because I would rather have another solid player on my bench that I can use than kind of a handcuff just waiting around.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: With that said, I'm I'm not saying that's the best strategy.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: That's just my strategy.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: I would prefer to yeah, I would prefer to have a really rock solid running back and then a good wide receiver than a good running back and another pretty good running back as his handcuff.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: I I just would rather have that bench spot for another player that I feel like I could actually utilize during the season rather than him just kind of sitting there and case.
- 44:36SPEAKER_02: All right, ladies and gentlemen.
