Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: If you're using a TENS machine for peripheral neuropathy, I want you to please stop.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Because I stopped using traditional TENS machines in my practice years ago.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: And it's one of my ongoing frustrations with the way neuropathy is currently being treated.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: It's because I found a little known device that takes a completely different approach to stimulating nerves.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: And the best part, you can use it at home.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: And it only takes 30 minutes of your time.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: No driving to an office, no searching for a parking spot, no rearranging your day around your other appointments.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: I've spent the last several years treating patients with peripheral neuropathy.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Today, I'm going to explain why I walked away from traditional TENS machines and how this unique device is specifically designed to correct the problem, which is making your nerves malfunction.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And I believe it's why we really need to rethink the way we've been treating neuropathy.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: The problem with traditional electrical stimulation?
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Your nerves carry electrical messages between your brain and your body.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Those messages help you feel your feet, move your muscles, and keep your balance.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: But when a nerve becomes damaged, those messages can become unreliable.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Sometimes pain signals fire off when nothing is actually hurting your feet.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: That's why you can feel burning, tingling, or even electric shocks when your nerves send too little information.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: It's because they have difficulty sending the information and you start losing feeling altogether.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: And that's the problem with traditional electrical stimulation, especially TENS machines.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: A TENS machine sends electrical impulses through pads placed on your skin primarily to alter how your body experiences sensations like pain.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Can it provide temporary relief?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Yes, it can.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: But what have we actually accomplished if your feet hurt less while the nerve itself remains damaged?
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Traditional TENS machines aren't designed to monitor how your nerves respond to stimulation.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: They just make the nerves fire over and over until all the neurotransmitters are used up and it can't fire.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: And simply delivering electrical stimulation doesn't mean you're restoring normal nerve communication.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: That's the reason I completely stopped using traditional TENS machines in my practice.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: I found a device which monitors the nerve's abnormal behavior and then immediately adjusts it, correcting the actual problem.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: The device that responds to your nerves?
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: The device I'm talking about is called the Rebuilder, and it was invented by a neurologist for exactly this reason.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And what makes this technology so interesting isn't simply that it uses electricity.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: We've been using electrical stimulation in healthcare for years.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: It's the fact that the rebuilder is designed to monitor and then respond to your body's feedback.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: A traditional TENS machine delivers electrical stimulation based on the settings you select, but the rebuilder takes a much different approach.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: It uses a special circuit designed to monitor how your nerves respond to electrical stimulation and then adjusts its output accordingly.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Think of it this way: a traditional TENS machine only sends a signal.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: The rebuilder doesn't just send a signal, it's designed to listen to your nerves too.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: And that's exactly what I love about it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: When you're dealing with damaged nerves that aren't communicating properly, I don't want you relying on a machine that simply delivers the same stimulation without responding to feedback.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I want something that's designed to adapt to the way your body responds.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Now, that doesn't mean one section is going to magically reverse nerve damage, but it does mean we're approaching electrical stimulation differently.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And there's another reason I use this device that I think is just as exciting.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: You can use it right at home.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Why I want my patients treating at home?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: I've invested in a lot of expensive equipment over the years.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: And some of that equipment is excellent.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: But if the machine is sitting in my office, you have to come to my office to use it.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: That means getting dressed, getting in your car, driving across town, finding somewhere to park, checking in, having your treatment, and then getting back home.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And then doing it all over again a few days later.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: For someone who's already dealing with burning feet, weakness, or difficulty walking, that's a lot to ask.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: And what happens on the days you're not in the office?
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: That's exactly the reason I've become such a big believer in appropriate home treatment.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Home treatment outperforms office treatment, especially when it comes to neuropathy.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Office treatments just can't compete with the convenience and consistency that comes with home treatments.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Overbuilders use for about 30 minutes at a time, right in your own home.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: You can build it into your routine instead of having to plan your day around a clinic appointment every time you want to use it.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And when a treatment is easier to fit into your life, it's much easier to stay consistent with it.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: To me, that's amazing.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Not because convenience somehow makes the device more powerful, but because a treatment plan that you can realistically follow has a great advantage over one that's constantly being interrupted by scheduling, transportation, everything else life throws at you.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: If you've been dealing with burning, tingling, numbness, or nerve pain, please subscribe to this channel.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I'm going to keep showing you the different approaches being used for neuropathy, including the treatments I use in my own practice and why I chose them.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: If you're wondering if the rebuilder might be appropriate for you, use the link in the description below to call my office and schedule a virtual appointment with me.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Now, I want to talk about a fascinating reason repeated input to the nervous system is important.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system is built to adapt.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system has an ability called neuroplasticity, which means your nervous system can change and adapt in response to experiences and repeated input.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system loves repetition.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Think about learning to ride a bicycle.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: At first, you're trying to remember how to pedal, steer, and keep your balance, but after practicing, those movements become second nature.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system has adapted.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Now, neuropathy definitely isn't the same thing as learning to ride a bike.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Damaged peripheral nerves don't automatically recover just because we repeatedly stimulate them, but the nervous system's ability to respond to input is one of the reasons I'm interested in treatments that can be used consistently.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: And that's the thinking behind incorporating the rebuilder into a home program.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Rather than expecting an office visit to accomplish everything, we're using repeated sessions at home as part of an entire treatment plan with greater frequency.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: How to get started with the rebuilder?
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Now, after hearing all this, you're probably wondering, okay, Dr.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Jacobazzi, how do I get one?
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: And that's exactly why I want you to call my office.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Because before I recommend the rebuilder to you, I want to have a chance to understand your case and what's actually happening with your nerves.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: I want to know what's driving your neurophi, how long it's been happening, and of course what stage you're in.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Because here's the thing even the most advanced device isn't going to address every reason behind your nerve damage.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: That's why when it comes to my practice, I look at the bigger picture and I can determine whether the rebuilder is right for you.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: And if it is, we can develop a treatment plan that helps you to use it safely and effectively at home.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: So if you're interested in finding out whether the rebuilder could be right for you, use the link in the description below to contact my office and schedule a virtual appointment with me.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Here's what I want you to remember.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: I didn't move away from traditional tens machines because I stopped believing in electrical stimulation.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: I moved away from it because I found a better approach for neuropathy patients.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: The rebuilder is designed to monitor your nerve's response and adjust it, and it gives patients who fit into the selection criteria a path to restore normal nerve function.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And if you find this information helpful, please subscribe to the channel for more information about neuropathy and other available treatments.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: If you haven't watched my video, Everything You Need to Know About Peripheral Neuropathy, watch that next.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: I talk about what really sets my approach apart from other practices.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: My treatment program focuses on three areas your metabolic health, your circulation, and neuroplasticity.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: I call it the MVM protocol.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I'll see you there.
