- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to another episode of Bonus.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: At the end of this week of the Dog's Podcast, Josh All coming back to you guys again, hitting up a listener, male-beg, segment here today, probably a shorter quicker episode, but you guys just keep sending in the messages and the voicemails and I don't want to wait,
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: until Sunday or next Tuesday or whenever to get to some of you guys's input your thoughts your feedback on the team and today's focus, this is not planned whatsoever, but I got all these messages from you guys and every single one of them pertains to Shador Sanders and the Browns future at quarterback.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, might as well do an episode segment here quick, talking about Shador, talking about the Browns quarterback options moving into 2026 and what you guys.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: think about the whole situation.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what we're here to do today.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, if you want to get your thoughts, opinions, questions on the show, head to the dogspodcast.com.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: Tap leave, voice them on the drop down menu.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: You can record your message, message, listen to it back, re-record it if you don't like it, send it in.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then if you also do not want to have your voice on the show, you can just type a message and send it to the website, which is how we are going to start things today.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll open the show here with our first message and this one is from Vinti on the website Vinti says.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand how you Sanders' apologists can hold a consistent thought in your head for longer than five minutes.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Great start to a message always love it when they open like that.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: He says, you say you want the Browns to run with Sanders next year and then in the next breath, say Kevin and everyone else needs to go.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: The only possible way that the Browns go with Sanders next year is if Kevin is still here.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: There is 0% chance a new coach in GM would pass on drafting their own guy and stay with a physically very talented kid who needs a lot of work on the mental side of playing quarterback in the NFL.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: So if you a Sanders Apologist want him to play, you should be dead set on Kevin and Barry staying.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is where I got tricked in this message.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: He then says, I like what I have seen from Sanders, and would like to see the Browns try to build around him.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see them get taint in the draft, because that is what I would like to see.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: I realize Kevin needs to stay and to make that a reality.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's very obvious and simple.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: So when Vinty starts saying and calling us Sanders Apologist,
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: I thought, okay, well, this guy clearly does not want the Browns to roll with Shador Sanders next year, because I don't think anybody who calls anybody a Sanders apologist is also a Sanders apologist.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: See, I'm not a Sanders apologist, guys.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: If you've watched the show, be Blake, Justin, we've hopped in very
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: honest about what we've seen from Shidorah Sanders and I'm not taking an extreme either way in saying the guys the future of the franchise signed him for the next 10 seasons.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's the guy.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also not saying he's a bus get rid of him.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: We need to move on next year because it's been four games.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: four games and what he's shown over that time is exactly what you would expect to see whether he was drafted in the first round of fifth round from a rookie quarterback.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's a rookie quarterback.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to make some mistakes, but the thing is that the positive stuff that he does, the great plays that he's made, the arm talent that he has shown, those are not fifth round quarterback traits.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I am evaluating him.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: with the understanding that yes he was taken in the fifth round, but yes he was also projected as a first round talent and he had a super late start and the thing is the Browns told us over and over and over this guy is so far behind on the understanding the nuances of the NFL and the language and you know breaking a huddle and post and pre-snab
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he didn't get any work with the first team all through the summer and everything and I understand that they were working with him on the side and trying to help him develop in those areas and maybe that worked.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that is what happened.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that was successful because once he finally got on the field, we have seen consistent development each week that he has played.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, I'm talking about the Chicago Bears game as well.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Was it a better game for him statistically than the better the Titans game?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: It certainly was not.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: It was a step back in the stat sheet for Shidorah Sanders.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: But we're still seeing him navigate the pocket, trying to step up, make throws, keep his eyes down field, go through his progressions, do the things that NFL quarterbacks need to do to be successful.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Did he take some sacks late in the game whenever we were getting clobbered and he was just trying to get some points on the board?
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we have seen that not just from him, but from every quarterback that's ever played in the NFL.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I get in a little too off track here with with my take on Shador, but to get back to Vinti's message.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we've said this multiple times on the show.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're absolutely right if the Browns fire Kevin Stephansky and Andrew Barry.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: That means like they clean house.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: Get rid of this regime, which I want them to do.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: That is what I want them to do.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe that you can roll into another season with any of these decision makers in the building.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think you can do it.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: that does pose an issue for Shador Sanders and his future as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns because the new head coach and GM just like you said, Vinty, we'll have no allegiance to him.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to want to get their guy that they want to build around in the draft.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: That is all very well and true.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: That is also assuming that we are in the right position in the draft to take the guy they want.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I understand we have two first round picks.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: We do have the ammo to trade up, but it's so due other teams.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, this is where the whole bidding war thing comes in.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're not landing a top two pick, because as of right now, as of this recording December 17th, 2025, I see two prospects worth taking the first round, it's Fernando Mendoza.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: He will go number one.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: So unless you land the number one over a pick, you are going to have to give up your other first round pick and other assets to get to number one.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: If that's the quarterback you want, the other guys don't say more out of Oregon.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: probably going to go number two in the draft two or three.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not in the top three, your chances of landing one of those guys without giving up significant capital to do so is pretty slim.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how everything goes as really hard to project out how things are going to play out without knowing where we're picking for sure who the coaches did.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: We get rid of the GM all that kind of stuff.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a conundrum, ventia, I'm with you, but yes, in the same breath, I will say I would like at this moment.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now obviously things could change.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't done all my prospecty valuations stuff yet.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't even started.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't do that until after the season is over.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: I watch college football, take away some some things from and notes and stuff from the season, but actual film breakdowns and studying things.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't worry about that until after the season
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: That being said, at this point, I would like to move forward with Shador and build around him.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: And the same breath, I will say we got to get rid of AB, Kevin, Cleanhouse.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: I understand that it poses an issue.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's a little bit of a double-edged sword there, you know, if you want Sanders, then you probably got to keep these guys.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to get rid of these guys, you're probably not going to keep Sanders.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a way that we can get rid of these guys and still keep Sanders as the quarterback?
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Just remember, Jimmy Haslam will still no matter which direction the team decides to go.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jimmy will still be the owner.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Jimmy will still have input and if Jimmy wants to doorstanders to have 2026 as the team starter, no matter who the coaching staff is and who the front office is, then it will happen.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: So again, just gotta wait and see how it goes.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Vinty,
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: appreciate the message.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I don't know what Sanders apologists means.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we've ever made excuses for him because if you watch the games again, you said yourself that you like what you've seen from Sanders.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, are you attributing a lot of the, I don't know, negative things to him solely or are we not considering, of course, we have no receivers.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Our offensive line is terrible or coaching is terrible again.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Another season with Shador as the quarterback with Kevin Stephanski as the coach, I don't think changes anything.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it gets any better, should or might continue to progress as much as he can within this crap-tastic offense.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care who else you get to put around him.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's still going to be a Kevin's defense offense and I want nothing to do.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: with Kevin Stephansky offense anymore.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that is where I stand currently at the moment.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Remember guys, the countdown to Black Monday is on.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's get to our first voice mail today, might call back in and left another one.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's hear what Mike has to say.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_04]: I forgot to say in the last one of them that I loved to show, um, I love everything you guys are doing and your takes.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I just wanted to say that I do think this should or is your franchise.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_04]: And the reason that I think that is not because I am a fan of shouldower, but because I watch how he plays.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, in college, he did a lot of drifting backwards and he's always trying to make a play and all that stuff.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_04]: But you noticed that when he got to the NFL,
- 10:05[SPEAKER_04]: all those sets that he was taking in college, he noticed he's not doing that now in the NFL, right?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_04]: You guys notice that he steps on to see steps up in the pocket more in the NFL, right?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_04]: So I know y'all are looking for the changes in the uh, the learning curves.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_04]: and that's what he's showing everyone he's showing that what he went on the field and what he messed up at he comes back and he looks over and filmed and he applies it and changes it in the game and it looks better so he shows you that he can actually grow so looking at you know he's deadly accurate because look at that passenger duty not a lot of rookies are making that past man and then on top of that
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: you you can build around him he's he's able and he's capable and he could do it I will say my guy I completely agree I think Shidorah Sanders is a very highly intelligent quarterback I think to your point
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: the his ability to go watch film and really evaluate himself.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he is very strong self-awareness.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's very critical of his own play, and I think he is very honest about what he sees from himself.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: in the film and he gets better and the thing is, you know, we talked about a couple of weeks ago against the 49ers.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: He missed Jerry Judy twice on that, uh, whatever that deep seam route down the field and the first time he just overthrew him the second time he didn't even see him.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: What happened the very next week against against the Titans?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: He hit that same play for a 60 yard touchdown, okay?
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: experience.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: That is the one thing that Shidorah Sanders is really lacking.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you said, what is the one thing Shidorah Sanders needs to work on the most or is lacking the most?
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's just experience.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's none of his actual traits that he's either lacking or deficient and it's just the experience and the only way to gain the experience is to play the game.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: to snaps, get him reps, get him more time behind center, running the offense, working out the kinks, learning how to play in the NFL, and that goes for any rookie quarterback.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: And it doesn't matter where they were taken or who they were as a prospect.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, everybody starts with the stat sheet of zeroes and the experience of nothing and you build from that once you get into the league and that is exactly what he is doing now he got a late start to this whole thing because in my opinion we wasted a lot of time with Dylan Gabriel through training camp and practices and the preseason and then the games that he started and played in this year we just wasted a lot of time.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: There are, you know, you can watch a rookie quarterback again, said this the other day on the show.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: I've watched a lot of them as a Browns fan over the last 30 years, you know, watched a lot of rookie quarterback takes snaps for this team.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: And you can pretty much tell real quick, which quarterback
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: has traits and abilities that are indicative of success in the league and which ones don't have anything.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: Dylan Gabriel didn't have anything, okay?
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: We saw enough of him and people will still say, well, how can you say, you know, you're still seeing enough from Shador, but you didn't see enough from Dylan.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: I watched the games.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: I watched the games.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: I still have had nobody really make a strong argument about anything that Dylan specifically did during his time as the starter that should give him more opportunity in the future.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: What if he ever do?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: That made you say, wow, that's it.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's a franchise quarterback throw right there.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: Should or makes franchise quarter wreck throws every week?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: And the drifting back in the pocket.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I know you're you're mentioning this Mike because I'm with you.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: People have been harping on this since the pre-draft process since college for Shidorah.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: It is not happening in the NFL.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: When is he drifting back in the pocket, drifting back, drifting back, drifting back, drifting back, taking negative 20 arcs.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: The only time you even see a glimmer of that happen is again, late in games when we're already getting killed and then it's, we're just desperately trying to do something whenever the game is still within reach or still at least somewhat competitive, he's not doing those things.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: He, he is correcting these things by the week.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: So one thing that comes to mind when we talk about that, too, how?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Did you guys watch Caleb Williams?
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a serious question.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like, did you watch Caleb Williams at USC in college before he was drafted?
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: Number one overall as a, the next generational quarterback prospect.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: All this stuff.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: Did you watch him last year out all with the bears?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Believe he took more sex than any other quarterback in the NFL last year as a rookie.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: Caleb Williams had the same, did the same thing, the same issues that Shidorah Sanders had in college.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Drifting back, trying to extend plays, trying to get the ball down, feel holding the ball too long, and what did it do last year as a rookie Chicago translator right into the NFL?
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right into the NFL, most sat quarterback last year.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: If there was somebody that was sack more than him, correct me in the comments, but I am pretty sure he was the most sat quarterback in the NFL last year.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: Shidorah Sanders isn't taking a whole lot of sacks.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: At least when the games are competitive and he's not trying to press the ball down field and make something happen, it's just, I think he's getting an unfair evaluation from a lot of people.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think people are evaluating the name and the hype from whatever it might be, media, the fan base, however you want to see it, instead of just actually evaluating him for what he is and that is a rookie quarterback in the NFL.

- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: I was you know scrolling and came across a video of like the Brownsle Mr.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_03]: Opportunity of Shador Sanders being their guy for the number one reason that they're so much
- 18:52[SPEAKER_03]: Shoulder Sanders is going to fill her seats.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_03]: He is going to, you know, do those things.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_03]: And that guy was right.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: But here's my thing.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_03]: I just pulled up some stats.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_03]: Shoulder Sanders is selling jerseys.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_03]: Like he is like number one Browns player, like people want his jersey.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's number one.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so then my next question was, who is buying Dillon Gabriel jerseys?
- 19:19[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and there is no public record of that many people.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't even make the top 50 list.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_03]: So, I, I'm just saying, I think we found her quarterback and I think they need a little employee.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: They need a good online and let them play.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_03]: Just thought I'd send that in.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_03]: That was funny.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Hannah, that's very fair.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: you guys know how I feel.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we really even need to talk about Dylan Gabriel anymore in the Browns Quarterback Conversation.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: That was a massive whiff by the Browns.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I think that might be where the big rift between Andrew Barry and Kevin Saphance came into play because I think obviously Andrew Barry took a liking to Shador Sanders and I think he probably would have taken Shador Sanders earlier in the draft.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I, this is just my belief, again, no reporting, no facts, no nothing.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: This is just my speculation, but I am speculating that Kevin's defense, he's the one who really fell in love with Dylan Gabriel, made the strong push to get Dylan Gabriel.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think Andrew Barry said, okay, fine, then I'm going to, this is what I'm going to do at the top of the draft, you know, I'm going to trade back, take some of these players fill out the roster where I want to.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then you know, Kevin got his wish to get Dylan's just such a shame because you know, we could have the they're offensive guard that the Patriots took after that after that Dylan gave your picture at Wilson.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: We could have Xavier Watts who I wanted at that pick.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted Xavier Watts the safety who the Falcons end up taking out another name.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted him in the second round.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and when he was available late third round is like that was a no brainer pick we should have taken him should have taken him instead We wasted a pick on Dylan Gabriel who I don't think will ever be
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: suitable for the NFL.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: He might be able to fill in relief here and there.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe take a spot start as a backup a couple times over his career, but you know, the whole sediment that, you know, Dylan Gabriel's got a long NFL career.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: He'll be a backup in this league for a long time.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: That I don't see as the future.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm wrong.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: Just don't see it.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: Just don't.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: It is a, it is a very interesting predicament that now we are going to be discussing all the way into April.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, it is what it is.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Life as a Browns fan of your new.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: Do we draft the quarterback in the top five?
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: Do we roll with the fifth round pick that showed some promise?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: But didn't really have a fair shot because imagine if the Browns did have a good offensive line, or at least an average offensive line.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: And imagine if we had at least one good NFL wide receiver on this team and then maybe a, you know, a second decent NFL wide receiver, you know, a cleave Raymond or somebody that can actually make plays and and be a reliable target for a quarterback in the NFL.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: how much difference should our standard season be looking right now if he had those things to work with what if we had a head coach or an offensive system that actually worked what if we had a team that actually came out on Sundays and looked prepared and actually played discipline and didn't have miscommunications and you know have have the wrong play sheet in the wristband and make stupid penalties and start every drive you know first in 20 like
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: We might not even be having this conversation.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, this is the reality that we are forced to live with as Brown's fans.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: So get ready for the roller coaster ride that will be the next, what, three months or whatever until April.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let's uh last voicemail today.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is from Zach aka fake burns.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_05]: What's up?
- 23:18[SPEAKER_05]: This is Zach aka fake burns.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's been a while since I've submitted a voicemail just haven't really had much to say about the browns.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_05]: Um, still watching the games.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, I was one of those tough soldiers last game that uh stuck it out to see if miles would break the record.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_05]: Um, still kind of
- 23:38[SPEAKER_05]: Nonetheless, um, don't really think we have much, I don't think we have a shot at all against the bills this weekend.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, this would be the game we'd win, um, and then we lose the rest of the year.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_05]: But the main reason I sent an invoice mail today is because I kind of wanted to give my opinion on the draft.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_05]: to a conversation because that's mainly what I've been doing and my free time I'll do like I'll look up mock drafts and stuff and every time I see one that has the brown stick in the quarterback I'm sorry I just I think it's invalid because I don't see how we could just keep repeating the same exact thing we're doing every year and with that shudder has showed at least a little bit of promise.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_05]: to where we can fill other pieces.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_05]: If we do end up with the first pick or the second pick or the third pick, I think it would be great to trade down a couple picks and get more draft capital to fill those holes.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_05]: Take either Tate or Tyson, whoever's there.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_05]: And I guess that's also a question after you guys.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_05]: Do you guys think that taking Tate is a little biased because we're OSU fans, or do you think that he is truly better than Tyson?
- 24:39[SPEAKER_05]: Just want to get your opinion
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Zach.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: Zach.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate how you have just embraced the fake Jake Burns persona.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: If you guys have missed, you know, Zach calling in before, we played a couple of his voice emails previously on episodes after games and Blake has just convinced that Zach is actually Jake Burns calling in under a pseudonym because his voice like, Zach, your voice really does sound like Jake Burns from Browns Film Breakdown.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: So if you guys haven't,
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to Jake or watched any of his stuff.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: Go check it out and tell me that we're wrong because I don't think we are.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: But Zack, aka fake, we appreciate the voicemail and to talk about the, uh, well, first of all, let's, let's go to the Shidorah thing.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: I said it before on this episode and I'm going to say it now again, don't hold me to any takes.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: I do not suffer from take lock.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: That is one thing that I try to be very fluid in.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: I try to be very, you know, go with the flow with news and information with the NFL.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's December 17th, 2025 and right now I think that the Brown's best option for next year would be
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: give shit or Sanders and offseason to prepare give him an entire you know training camp and summer and all that kind of stuff preseason to get ready and then let him have 2026 as a starting quarterback while you put pieces around him and see what he can do.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: I know guys like Quincy Carrier on YouTube very adamant that the Browns need to take a quarterback.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like if the Browns have a shot at taking either Mendoza or Dante more they need to do it.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: I, I'm not going to attack anybody for their view on this because I, I think you can make an argument either way.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can make an argument either way.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be surprised if it's some point here in the next couple of months.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: I change my opinion.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's very possible.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Again, like I said, the beginning of the show, I have not done my prospect evaluation yet.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I need to go watch tape and actually do film study on Dante Moore on Fernando Mendoza to see how I feel because this time last year, I wasn't really sure how I thought about the quarterbacks.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then as soon as I started watching film, that's whenever I got to like, okay, if the Browns can get camore, they need to get camore because I loved what I saw on tape.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then I was like, if they can't get camore, they need to take Shador Sanders at two, because we have to get a quarterback and Shador Sanders was the next best thing after camore that I saw on tape that said he just got to play in the NFL.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then it was Jackson Dart, who I was one of the first people, if you guys remember Justin remembers this video, because we had a lot of conversations behind the scenes about Jackson Dart.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: It was about this time last year, maybe you early January, right after Christmas, I said, Jackson Dart by the time April comes, he will be a first round pick.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: Just because of what I was seeing on the tape.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe things change once I break down more in Mendoza.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: I already believe Fernando Mendoza will be and probably should be the first overall pick.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many QB Needy teams, especially in the top five, that he's gonna be the top pick for somebody.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: The question my question is, what will I find from Dante Moore when I do that film study?
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: But right now,
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: Especially for picking four or five.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Just roll with Shidorr.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: Just roll with Shidorr, and yes, I am an Ohio State.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: I went to Ohio State, I'm an Ohio State fan, I love the buck guys, that's my team.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: That is not the only reason why I want the Browns to take Carnell Tate over Jordan Tyson.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: Again, haven't done the prospect of evaluations from the film study side of things.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Tyson, what I know about him is he is a great player when.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: when he is on the field.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's the issue, injuries have been a big thing for him all throughout college and listen, if you have an injury history and college football, a constant consistent injury history and you're constantly missing time in college, it's very unlikely to get a whole lot better at the NFL level.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: You typically guys miss more time in the NFL than they ever
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: and all that kind of stuff.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're already dealing with a lot of injuries in college football, it just doesn't make me all warm and cozy for you as an NFL prospect.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: Carnell Tate, injury thing aside.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: I do think Carnell Tate is actually more talented than Jordan Tyson.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like an anti-jordan Tyson thing.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: It is I have watched Carnell Tate.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, I watched him last year when he was behind Jeremiah Smith and Amecca Guuca.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: and Cardinal Tate still did things on the field that I was like, ooh, that's gonna be, yeah, I knew last year that a mechabuka would be the first round pick from the, from Ohio State in 2025.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I knew it.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, we've got first round picks, three in a row here.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: You've got at Buca in 25.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: You got this Cardinal Tate kid.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna be a first round pick in 26.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously we already knew Jeremiah Smith would be a first round pick in 2027.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: But Cardinal Tate what I love about him.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: He, not only is he a great route runner, you know, he's very similar to Abuka as far as coming out of college.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be a quarterback's best friend because he's got such a pro-ready, mature understanding of how to play the position, wide receiver.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have like the top end speed that's just going to burn anybody.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: But again, that was Anthony Schwartz and look how that turned out.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care about your top end speed because again, you, I think Mike Evans says this a lot.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: Drake London's the same way.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: These bigger body receivers, these contested catch guys that that's what they kind of specialize in in college, they can get open on a nine route down the sideline, not with their speed and just blowing by a guy.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: but by their route running in the route savvy.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: So, Caronel Tate has that.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then when it comes to contested catches down the field, unless I'm off of my numbers, I think he is 12, 14 for this season.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_00]: Only 250 balls down the field thrown up to Caronel Tate that he did not come down with.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: He, he would just fit so well.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, he'll fit so well in the NFL no matter where he goes.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: But with a quarterback-life should door Sanders that loves to take the deep shot, you got Isaiah Bond who can beat people straight up with his speed.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: And then you got a guy like Colonel Tate that can beat you pretty much anywhere on the field.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: He can line up inside outside.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: He can beat you underneath in the middle of the field and then obviously down deep.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that that is a no-brainer pick for a team that has not had an elite level NFL Alpha wide receiver one since Josh Gordon.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: So please Cleveland do the right thing and get just get that type of receiver even if it's not Carnal tape another guy that I'm really coming on to and again like I can't wait to really dive into like wide receiver evaluations.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: Because in the first round right now I'm looking at guys like obviously Carnal tape Jordan Tyson but I'm looking at McIlemon out of USC I know he's a smaller receiver but man the dude is a study one the blit and a cough a ward and college football this year.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: And he's just a baller.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's a baller.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to break down his tape.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be a good NFL receiver Will he be like an elite level wire receiver?
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: I have it again.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'll come away for some of those opinions after studying him Yeah, the other guy is Denzel Boston out of Washington big body contested catch guy sort of giving me at this moment in time again I got to go look at the film, but he's kind of giving me
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: Tetero Macmillan vibes.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not quite to the high end level coming out of college that tech was last year.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: But that's sort of what I'm seeing from a guy like Denzel Boston.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: You guys let me know what you think.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: I know there's people that watch this show and listen to the show that do way more prospect evaluations throughout the college football season than I do.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: Um, because I'm just I'm busy doing Browns.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing Browns reporting Browns content creation all through social media creating the podcast putting the stuff out for you guys.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't have the time to do the evaluation of prospects that I'd like to do.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe at some point in the future we'll be able to expand our team here at the dogs podcast and have somebody or a crew of guys or gals people, a crew of people.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: very dedicated to prospective evaluations throughout the college football season leading into draft season all that kind of stuff.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: So again, your guys support as I wrap up this episode, your guys support truly does help this show grow because again, it's an independent podcast.

- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: I already told you guys my score
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: builds over the Browns.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think James Cook has 100 yards and two touchdowns minimum in that game on Sunday.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a blood bath.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: So there are things obviously that we're looking for and watching for from the Browns.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: I detailed all that stuff on yesterday's episode.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: So go back and watch that if you missed it.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks again to everybody chiming in today talking about Shador Sanders.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_00]: Let everybody know in the comments.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: As you follow along, what do you think?
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: Are you guys on board?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: Just for get quarterback in 2026 right now.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're already declaring.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just roll the shit door Sanders, build around him and see how it goes next year.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: Do you guys want to take a quarterback?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: if we have a top two or three pick and if so who are you gunning for right now is it Mendoza is it more is it Tysonson I hope not but maybe it is if it is let me know why because clearly I don't believe in Tysonson at least as a prospect right now and
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: Should we fire the coach if we should?
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anybody you are already kind of high on that you'd like to replace him?
- 35:32[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to get ready Andrew Barry in the front office as well?
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: What do you guys want to do?
