- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey everybody, welcome to Vince on a Tuesday, the very
- 0:03Speaker 1: first State of the Union address for President Trump's second
- 0:07Speaker 1: term in office. It's going to be great. We'll have
- 0:10Speaker 1: a preview coming up for you of what we might
- 0:12Speaker 1: expect from the President of the United States tonight. And remember,
- 0:15Speaker 1: as always, it's a Trump State of the Union, so
- 0:17Speaker 1: expect the unexpected. Really looking forward to that. We'll dive
- 0:22Speaker 1: into all of the details. Also among the guests who
- 0:25Speaker 1: are going to be in attendance, that includes the men's U.S.
- 0:29Speaker 1: team hockey winners, the gold medalists who just had that
- 0:33Speaker 1: epic victory over Canada this weekend. Hell yeah. Love that.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And so much more all ahead on this edition of Vince.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Great to have you with us. Best audience anywhere. I
- 0:44Speaker 1: want to thank our great sponsors who make the show
- 0:46Speaker 1: possible each and every day. That includes American Financing. You
- 0:49Speaker 1: worried about upcoming credit card debt at all? Bills that
- 0:52Speaker 1: are arriving? If you're a homeowner, there's really no better
- 0:55Speaker 1: time than right now to call American Financing and wipe
- 0:58Speaker 1: out that debt, eliminate the stress and set yourself up
- 1:01Speaker 1: for a very strong 2026. The Fed dropped rates for
- 1:05Speaker 1: the fourth time in December And American financing can help
- 1:08Speaker 1: you access the equity that's right there in your home
- 1:11Speaker 1: at an interest rate in the low fives. Now, you
- 1:14Speaker 1: heard me correctly, the low fives. Now, compare that to
- 1:16Speaker 1: the credit card debt rates. What is that, 20%?
- 1:19Speaker 2: 30%?
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's crazy. American financing is saving customers an average of
- 1:23Speaker 1: $ 800 a month. That's like a $ 10, 000 raise for the
- 1:27Speaker 1: rest of the year. That's crazy. It's great. There are
- 1:30Speaker 1: no upfront fees, no obligation. You can see how much
- 1:32Speaker 1: you can save. They're closing, for some people, in as
- 1:35Speaker 1: fast as 10 days. And they're even delaying two mortgage payments.
- 1:39Speaker 1: American Financing is America's home for home loans. Call today, 888-879-6460.
- 1:44Speaker 3: That's 888-879-6460.
- 1:44Speaker 1: AmericanFinancing.net slash Vince. Well, the state of our union is strong.
- 2:03Speaker 1: That's what every president says when they stand up there
- 2:06Speaker 1: in front of Congress for their state of the union address.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But this year, it's true. I mean, just think about
- 2:13Speaker 1: how far we've come. We had a world where the
- 2:15Speaker 1: border was wide open, where the economy was in a
- 2:18Speaker 1: free fall. where foreign policy was out of control, new
- 2:22Speaker 1: wars were being started with each passing day. Even our
- 2:24Speaker 1: attempts to get out of a war in Afghanistan led
- 2:27Speaker 1: to suffering for both Americans and the people in the region.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That was an awful, awful period in our history to
- 2:34Speaker 1: live under President Autopen. What a difference a president has made.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Suddenly our borders are secure. Suddenly our economy is on
- 2:41Speaker 1: the way back. And suddenly we have peace deals breaking
- 2:44Speaker 1: out all around the planet. How does that happen? Well,
- 2:47Speaker 1: because of you. You made the last election too big
- 2:50Speaker 1: to rig. You put Donald Trump in a position where
- 2:52Speaker 1: he could do something about all of this. He's having success.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Does it mean the work is over?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Hardly.
- 2:57Speaker 1: There's a lot more to do. And the president is
- 2:59Speaker 1: probably the most keenly aware of that out of anybody
- 3:02Speaker 1: on the planet. But tonight, he's got a great opportunity
- 3:05Speaker 1: to present a very positive message about the direction our
- 3:09Speaker 1: country's heading in, thanks to his leadership. And it's also, obviously,
- 3:13Speaker 1: a rationale tonight for why voters should continue to back
- 3:18Speaker 1: him and his agenda going into the midterms. I want
- 3:22Speaker 1: to start with the border today. the border is as
- 3:24Speaker 1: sealed up as it's ever been in the course of
- 3:27Speaker 1: our lives. Nobody's getting across it. In fact, very little
- 3:30Speaker 1: is getting across it at all. Drugs aren't, people aren't.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And as a result, fewer Americans are dying and our
- 3:38Speaker 1: border is restored. So in other words, our sovereignty has
- 3:42Speaker 1: been restored. That's a really positive thing. And yesterday, the
- 3:46Speaker 1: president was able to dwell on that a bit because
- 3:48Speaker 1: He welcomed some of the angel families to the White House.
- 3:53Speaker 1: The president honored angel families yesterday, as the White House describes,
- 3:56Speaker 1: remembering American lives lost to illegal immigration. And that ceremony
- 4:02Speaker 1: was dedicated to not only honor them, but to proclaim
- 4:06Speaker 1: that February 22nd of each year will now be considered
- 4:10Speaker 1: National Angel Week. Family Day, a day of remembrance for
- 4:14Speaker 1: victims and their grieving loved ones devastated by the consequences
- 4:18Speaker 1: of open border policies. The border, the White House says,
- 4:22Speaker 1: is now the most secure in history. And that's obviously
- 4:25Speaker 1: borne out by reality. The Trump administration remains unwavering in
- 4:28Speaker 1: its commitment to remove dangerous criminal illegals from our communities,
- 4:32Speaker 1: ensure accountability, and make sure not one American family has
- 4:35Speaker 1: to endure this pain. Nobody knows that pain better than
- 4:39Speaker 1: those angel families. And those angel families are very grateful
- 4:44Speaker 1: that President Trump has taken the lesson from their devastating
- 4:49Speaker 1: loss and has turned around to prevent that same fate
- 4:52Speaker 1: from befalling any other American families. Here, for example, is
- 4:56Speaker 1: Lakin Riley's mother, Allison, yesterday praising President Trump for his
- 5:03Speaker 1: support for our country. Take a look.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I just can't thank you enough. You have... said from
- 5:10Speaker 2: the beginning, literally the day after this happened, that you
- 5:15Speaker 2: would not forget about Lakin. You weren't president at that time,
- 5:21Speaker 2: and you have not forgotten.
- 5:25Speaker 3: You have.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Fought a fight that most people would not want to
- 5:30Speaker 2: have to fight. Most people wouldn't. They would just say
- 5:33Speaker 2: it's just easier not to do this, and President Trump
- 5:37Speaker 2: has You are doing a thankless job that most people
- 5:45Speaker 2: just wouldn't do. And I just can't thank you enough.
- 5:50Speaker 2: There are just not enough words to say. Because if
- 5:55Speaker 2: you've lived the nightmare that we have lived, you understand
- 5:58Speaker 2: the importance of the job that he's doing and securing
- 6:01Speaker 2: our nation and fighting for our families. Because this could
- 6:06Speaker 2: be any family. This happened to my family. This could
- 6:09Speaker 2: be any one of your families.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Could be any one of yours. She lost Lakin, that
- 6:16Speaker 1: horrific attack by an illegal alien. And she's staying in
- 6:21Speaker 1: the fight on behalf of her daughter and her legacy.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And to make sure that that fate doesn't befall anybody else.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Another angel mother by the name of Laura Wilkerson talked
- 6:32Speaker 1: about how she met President Trump now 11 years years ago,
- 6:37Speaker 1: 11 years ago. And he made a promise to her.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And she says he kept it. Listen, cut to.
- 6:45Speaker 4: I met a man about 11 years ago who was
- 6:48Speaker 4: running for office. And he sat with us a couple
- 6:52Speaker 4: of days. And he watched as the tears rolled down
- 6:57Speaker 4: my face as I told him the story of how
- 7:00Speaker 4: our youngest son, Joshua, was brutally beaten, tortured. strangled to
- 7:06Speaker 4: death and his body set on fire. The man next
- 7:12Speaker 4: to me was President Trump. He never, ever looked away
- 7:17Speaker 4: from my pain. He looked me straight in the eye
- 7:21Speaker 4: and he said, I will never forget the story of
- 7:24Speaker 4: your sweet son and I will never give up fighting
- 7:30Speaker 4: for the American family. I looked at him and I
- 7:34Speaker 4: believed him. And here we are these years later and
- 7:37Speaker 4: you can tell all of the work he's done. He's
- 7:39Speaker 4: never missed a day of fighting for the American family.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I don't know if I've ever met a man who
- 7:45Speaker 4: is more interested in this country and running his country
- 7:48Speaker 4: and getting it back in shape. And I'm so grateful
- 7:51Speaker 4: for what he does every single day.
- 7:55Speaker 1: The president does deserve a lot of credit here. Credit
- 7:58Speaker 1: that will not be rapidly coming from the American news
- 8:01Speaker 1: media who could practically care less about this subject. I'll
- 8:04Speaker 1: get to that in a moment. But hear what she
- 8:06Speaker 1: said there. I don't know if I've ever met a
- 8:08Speaker 1: man who is more interested in this country and running
- 8:10Speaker 1: this country and getting it back in shape.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Ever.
- 8:15Speaker 1: He's never stopped working on this from the moment that
- 8:18Speaker 1: I met him. And the evidence for that is crystal clear.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of politicians who will pay
- 8:23Speaker 1: lip service to an issue and then move on the
- 8:26Speaker 1: second the news cycle does. But has President Trump ever
- 8:29Speaker 1: moved on from this? No. He's made it mission one.
- 8:33Speaker 1: for his administration. Secure that border, protect American families, and
- 8:38Speaker 1: don't let there be more Lake and Riley's in our country.
- 8:40Speaker 1: By the way, remember, it was like pulling teeth to
- 8:45Speaker 1: get Democrats to even say her name. Remember that? That
- 8:50Speaker 1: ended up being a big dramatic moment at a State
- 8:52Speaker 1: of the Union just to get Joe Biden to say
- 8:55Speaker 1: Lake and Riley's name. And remember what the fallout from
- 8:57Speaker 1: that was? that Biden apologized for using the word illegal
- 9:04Speaker 1: to describe her killer. We've lived through some garbage. It's
- 9:10Speaker 1: good to see a restoration now with President Trump. Very good. Also,
- 9:16Speaker 1: it was a touching event yesterday for a bunch of reasons,
- 9:18Speaker 1: not just hearing from the Angel families, but boy, if
- 9:21Speaker 1: anybody knows how to put an event on, it is
- 9:23Speaker 1: President Trump, which is why I'm actually very excited for
- 9:26Speaker 1: the State of the Union for a million different reasons.
- 9:28Speaker 1: But for instance, this moment occurred yesterday when the U.S.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Army chorus sang Amazing Grace. I would recommend you maybe
- 9:37Speaker 1: keep a box of tissues nearby. It might behoove you
- 9:40Speaker 1: for this particular bit of audio. Take a listen.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Amazing grace, how sweet the sound. that Satan set me free.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I once was lost but now am found Was blind
- 10:17Speaker 3: but now I see.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Through many dangers, wars, and sins.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I have all I need, all I need. His praise,
- 10:50Speaker 3: praise God, he saved us far. And praise to thee,
- 11:05Speaker 3: O Lord.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Beautiful.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Beautiful.
- 11:20Speaker 1: What a beautiful gesture to those families. Impressive singers. I
- 11:27Speaker 1: noticed somebody, some people in the chat noticed.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I agree.
- 11:30Speaker 6: I agree.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Bad dad asked about this. Wait, they didn't say save
- 11:33Speaker 1: a wretch like me. They changed the word. I totally agree.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Somebody at the White House needs to intervene. Secretary Hegseth,
- 11:39Speaker 1: please intervene on that particular thing. Can we get the
- 11:41Speaker 1: lyrics changed back to it? I don't know what the
- 11:43Speaker 1: deal is with trying to woke-ify hymns and all these
- 11:47Speaker 1: other things. Just preserve it. in the beautiful way that
- 11:51Speaker 1: it was delivered in the first place, but I, I bought,
- 11:54Speaker 1: God bless them. Holy cow. They have talent. Holy cow.
- 11:59Speaker 1: What a nice, what a nice thing. So yeah, there
- 12:03Speaker 1: you go. There's the, the president of the United States
- 12:05Speaker 1: honoring the angel families. Now I mentioned that the media
- 12:10Speaker 1: really don't care about this subject. They are not at
- 12:13Speaker 1: all interested in it. And in fact, they're a little
- 12:16Speaker 1: grumpy that president Trump did this.
- 12:19Speaker 6: Look at this.
- 12:20Speaker 1: This is the New York Times headline from after the
- 12:22Speaker 1: event yesterday, that beautiful event. Angel family returned to Washington
- 12:29Speaker 1: to back up Trump ahead of the State of the Union.
- 12:35Speaker 1: To back him up for backup, it's backup for Trump.
- 12:38Speaker 1: And in case you're wondering if I'm being overly judgmental
- 12:41Speaker 1: about this, like, oh, well, they do back up.
- 12:43Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 12:44Speaker 1: What the New York Times is framing this as is
- 12:47Speaker 1: President Trump is awful and he's exploiting these families and
- 12:51Speaker 1: these families are awful for supporting him. That's the presentation
- 12:54Speaker 1: here by the New York Times. Because if you go
- 12:57Speaker 1: deeper in the piece, they say for over a decade,
- 13:01Speaker 1: for over a decade, those families have provided powerful political
- 13:04Speaker 1: cover for some of Mr. Trump's most aggressive policies. which
- 13:09Speaker 1: are predicated on the idea that... I'm sorry, I'm going
- 13:13Speaker 1: to take you through this, but it is so painful
- 13:15Speaker 1: to read this horse crap from the New York Times.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Predicated on the idea that undocumented immigrants are responsible for violence.
- 13:26Speaker 1: What are you... So, what of Rachel Morin? Was she
- 13:32Speaker 1: not brutalized and murdered? What of Jocelyn Nungere? Was she
- 13:36Speaker 1: not brutalized and murdered? What of Lakin Riley? Was she not...
- 13:39Speaker 1: brutalized and murdered by illegal aliens. So the New York
- 13:42Speaker 1: Times is saying it's predicated on the idea, the notion
- 13:46Speaker 1: that undocumented immigrants are responsible for, they are responsible for
- 13:49Speaker 1: that violence. And the Times goes on, this is, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: they're misleading their idiotic readers.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Mr.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Trump and his supporters often point to high profile crimes
- 14:04Speaker 1: as evidence. But data, I hate this lie, but data
- 14:09Speaker 1: shows that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than
- 14:14Speaker 1: people who are born in the United States. You dishonest,
- 14:18Speaker 1: heaping pile of bullshit. Data shows that immigrants are less,
- 14:24Speaker 1: we're not talking about immigrants. You buffoons. We're talking about
- 14:29Speaker 1: illegal aliens. This whole move, this has been the same
- 14:33Speaker 1: way for years, to lump together people who arrive legally,
- 14:37Speaker 1: in other words, follow our nation's laws, versus those who
- 14:41Speaker 1: arrive illegally who have a crime rate, to be clear,
- 14:44Speaker 1: of 100%. If you break our laws to get into
- 14:49Speaker 1: our country, you have committed a crime. I know Don
- 14:52Speaker 1: Lemon has trouble understanding this. If you come in illegally...
- 14:56Speaker 1: Why is it illegal? Because you broke the law. You
- 14:58Speaker 1: committed a crime. It's a 100% crime rate. There's no
- 15:02Speaker 1: statistical analysis that will ever conclude that natural born Americans
- 15:07Speaker 1: are somehow committing crimes at a higher rate than illegal
- 15:09Speaker 1: aliens because the illegals are committing it at 100%. 100%.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Just how disgraceful can you possibly, who is the moron?
- 15:25Speaker 1: Katie Rogers, Katie Rogers, the author on this piece, and
- 15:29Speaker 1: the New York Times publishes this to look down upon
- 15:34Speaker 1: the Angel families, to act as if they're just being
- 15:38Speaker 1: used and they're providing cover and Trump is awful and
- 15:41Speaker 1: he's going after immigrants who don't commit all that many
- 15:44Speaker 1: crimes to begin with. What are you saying to me?
- 15:47Speaker 1: What do you say? These types of attacks on Americans really,
- 15:52Speaker 1: really sicken me. I'm so fed up with this garbage.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So have you noticed that the left does this? This
- 15:59Speaker 1: is the posture they take. First of all, they lie
- 16:00Speaker 1: to you about the data. Illegal aliens commit 100 percent,
- 16:03Speaker 1: 100 percent crime rate among illegal aliens. But but they
- 16:06Speaker 1: lie to you about the data. And then they always
- 16:08Speaker 1: back up into this position. Americans are worse. Whatever you
- 16:12Speaker 1: think of any of this, of this kind of law enforcement,
- 16:16Speaker 1: Americans are worse. You're worse. You're actually worse. That's their excuse?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Let's pretend for a moment it was true that Americans
- 16:24Speaker 1: are worse. Let's just pretend for a moment that it
- 16:26Speaker 1: was true. In other words, we've got our own problems
- 16:29Speaker 1: to deal with. Why are we going to import more?
- 16:32Speaker 1: This is nonsensical. I'm sorry. I'm getting too animated about
- 16:37Speaker 1: a New York Times piece because this is... predictable as
- 16:40Speaker 1: the sunrise, but it is their behavior. And this is
- 16:44Speaker 1: why so many of our elites in particular are totally
- 16:47Speaker 1: misled and they buy into these ridiculous talking points. What
- 16:49Speaker 1: does this idiot know? She knows nothing. She's regurgitating some
- 16:54Speaker 1: press release that was sent to her by Adam Schiff
- 16:56Speaker 1: or whatever. The whole thing is crazy. As Americans remain
- 17:00Speaker 1: torn over the administration's aggressive and sometimes violent methods of
- 17:03Speaker 1: immigration enforcement, These families are continuing to back up Mr.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Trump.
- 17:07Speaker 1: On Monday, they stepped up to the microphone to praise
- 17:10Speaker 1: the president, elevate his unfounded claims, or serve as character witnesses. Oh, man,
- 17:21Speaker 1: my heart breaks for these angel families. I mean, chances
- 17:24Speaker 1: are they're so used to it, though. They're like, you know,
- 17:27Speaker 1: the second you put your head up, including somebody like
- 17:30Speaker 1: Alison Phillips, Lake and Riley's mother. Here's a picture of her.
- 17:34Speaker 1: There she is standing alongside the president supporting him. Imagine,
- 17:38Speaker 1: she loses her daughter, killed. She was jogging, University of
- 17:43Speaker 1: Georgia nursing student, killed by an illegal alien, 2024. Didn't
- 17:47Speaker 1: have to happen that way. You know, the guy was
- 17:49Speaker 1: in custody in New York. Remember that? And then, you know, released,
- 17:53Speaker 1: flown at taxpayer expense to Georgia. And there he is, brutalizing,
- 17:59Speaker 1: killing Lake and Riley. And now she decides, you know what?
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm going to support the guy who's going to fix
- 18:06Speaker 1: this problem in the United States of America. That's what
- 18:08Speaker 1: she decided. Because I'm going to honor my daughter. I
- 18:12Speaker 1: have to fight for her and her memory. She does that.
- 18:16Speaker 1: And President Trump works very hard to remember Lake and
- 18:21Speaker 1: Riley and to honor her and to seal our borders.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And what thanks does she get from the media? Does
- 18:28Speaker 1: she get sympathy from the press? Is she getting honest coverage?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Is it maybe she has a point? No, nothing. They're
- 18:35Speaker 1: just crapping all over her. They're treating her like garbage.
- 18:38Speaker 1: They're treating her like garbage. And all these angel families,
- 18:41Speaker 1: you're suckers. All you're doing is playing up, playing into
- 18:44Speaker 1: Trump's lies. You're, what is it? Elevating his unfounded claims.
- 18:49Speaker 7: Screw all of you.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Just screw all of you. There's a reason you have
- 18:54Speaker 1: less trust than, what's the phrase this week? Gas station sushi.
- 18:58Speaker 1: That's why. Because of horse crap like that. It's absolutely disgraceful.
- 19:04Speaker 1: The state of our union, when it comes to our border,
- 19:07Speaker 1: is strong. You can thank President Trump for that. That's
- 19:10Speaker 1: what the Angel families are doing. And those Angel families,
- 19:13Speaker 1: we're hearing, are going to be present tonight at the
- 19:16Speaker 1: State of the Union, which is great news. I like
- 19:21Speaker 1: that they were invited. I like that they'll be there.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And I like that they're there to support the President
- 19:26Speaker 1: of the United States and the agenda that he's on.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It tells me he's doing the right thing. You think
- 19:31Speaker 1: an angel family would lie about that? You think they
- 19:33Speaker 1: would just like pretend like President Trump was succeeding? No, no,
- 19:37Speaker 1: they know in their heart of hearts that President Trump
- 19:42Speaker 1: is working for them. They lost loved ones. They don't
- 19:45Speaker 1: have any reason to pretend. No, they're authentic, unlike the
- 19:49Speaker 1: New York Times. All right, in a moment, I want
- 19:50Speaker 1: to talk about the economy with you. We've got a
- 19:52Speaker 1: lot to get to in terms of the state of
- 19:54Speaker 1: our union because there's a lot going on in the world.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Let's talk about the economy in just a moment. And
- 19:58Speaker 1: for backup, I've brought my backup. I've brought in my
- 20:01Speaker 1: great in-house economist. We're going to talk to EJ and
- 20:03Speaker 1: Tony in just a moment, get a summary on how
- 20:06Speaker 1: things are going and how much things have changed. But first,
- 20:10Speaker 1: did you know that Fast Growing Trees is America's largest

- 21:04Speaker 1: beautifully packaged cardboard box. It was well-contained, and it was
- 21:08Speaker 1: already in bloom. And we planted it in the front yard,
- 21:11Speaker 1: and now I can't wait for spring. I really am
- 21:14Speaker 1: excited for the redbud to blossom. And I can look
- 21:17Speaker 1: forward to that thanks to fast-growing trees. Super healthy tree.

- 21:54Speaker 1: Petula the pug says the red bud needs some shade,
- 21:56Speaker 1: not full sun. Yeah, luckily for me, that side of
- 21:59Speaker 1: the house actually is pretty shady where we planted it.
- 22:01Speaker 1: This got At least it has morning shade. So we'll see.
- 22:06Speaker 1: It looks great, though. It's been growing really nicely. I
- 22:08Speaker 1: can't wait for those blossoms. It's going to be amazing.
- 22:10Speaker 1: All right. Also amazing, my next guest, the in-house economist
- 22:14Speaker 1: for The Vince Show, for Vince, E.J. Antoni, also the
- 22:17Speaker 1: chief economist at the Heritage Foundation. E.J., it is great
- 22:20Speaker 1: to see you, sir. Thanks for being here this morning.
- 22:22Speaker 7: Vince, pleasure is mine as always. Thanks for having me.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Okay. So look, anybody, if you're not following EJ and
- 22:28Speaker 1: Tony right now, go find his ex-account and start following
- 22:32Speaker 1: it because you will become the single smartest human being alive. Actually, no,
- 22:35Speaker 1: second smartest, right behind EJ. So EJ, let's talk about
- 22:41Speaker 1: the state of this economy. When President Trump gets up
- 22:43Speaker 1: there tonight, of course, every president has a positive spin
- 22:47Speaker 1: on how things are going. But Does the president have
- 22:50Speaker 1: a good case to make tonight that the economy is strong?
- 22:54Speaker 7: I think so, Vince. Absolutely. Especially when you consider where
- 22:57Speaker 7: we're coming from right now. It is the case. I
- 23:00Speaker 7: think he's going to have to probably try to thread
- 23:02Speaker 7: the needle a little bit here. What I mean by
- 23:04Speaker 7: that is he needs to acknowledge two things that some
- 23:07Speaker 7: people think are contradictory, but they're really not. And here's
- 23:10Speaker 7: what they are. Number one, we have course corrected under Biden.
- 23:14Speaker 7: You were heading in the wrong direction. Now we're heading
- 23:16Speaker 7: in the right direction. In other words, things are getting better.
- 23:19Speaker 7: But on the other hand, I think it's worthwhile acknowledging
- 23:23Speaker 7: the fact that we're not, quote unquote, there yet. In
- 23:26Speaker 7: other words, we still have not yet undone all of
- 23:29Speaker 7: the damage from the Biden years. A couple of stats,
- 23:32Speaker 7: I think, make that very clear. First is that if
- 23:35Speaker 7: you look at what the average American can actually buy
- 23:38Speaker 7: with his or her weekly paycheck, that shrunk about 4%
- 23:42Speaker 7: under Biden over four years. Now, under Trump, in just
- 23:45Speaker 7: one year, it's grown about 2%. Quick math tells you
- 23:48Speaker 7: you've only regained half of the lost ground. Now, it's
- 23:51Speaker 7: great that you've made so much progress in just a year.
- 23:54Speaker 7: But again, it's also, I think, worth acknowledging the fact
- 23:58Speaker 7: that people are still hurting. People are still suffering. Even
- 24:01Speaker 7: though you have course corrected, you were getting worse. Now
- 24:05Speaker 7: you're getting better.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Okay, that's a positive indicator for sure. Definitely. When it
- 24:13Speaker 1: comes to the state of jobs and the economy, how
- 24:16Speaker 1: are we looking right now?
- 24:18Speaker 7: Very, very good. And again, this is where it's such
- 24:20Speaker 7: a stark contrast, Vince, from Biden. Job growth coming out
- 24:25Speaker 7: of the pandemic in the private sector peaks. in the
- 24:29Speaker 7: summer of 2021 and then begins trending down if you
- 24:32Speaker 7: look at the monthly change from one month to the
- 24:35Speaker 7: next on a seasonally adjusted basis. And by the time
- 24:38Speaker 7: you get to January 2025, that kind of handoff month
- 24:42Speaker 7: between the Biden and the Trump administrations, private sector job
- 24:46Speaker 7: growth on a monthly basis, the trend had actually gone
- 24:49Speaker 7: below zero. In other words, you were losing jobs from
- 24:52Speaker 7: month to month within the private sector. So what was
- 24:55Speaker 7: growing in January of 2025? Just the government. The government,
- 24:59Speaker 7: the public sector was adding jobs. The private sector was
- 25:02Speaker 7: losing them. Now, fast forward a year to today. What's
- 25:05Speaker 7: going on in the labor market? Exactly the opposite. In short,
- 25:09Speaker 7: the government is losing jobs. Trump has succeeded in axing
- 25:13Speaker 7: something like 10% of the federal workforce. Over 300,000 bureaucrats
- 25:19Speaker 7: are gone. You have to go all the way back, Vince,
- 25:22Speaker 7: to 1966, a full six decades ago, to find a
- 25:25Speaker 7: time when there were fewer federal bureaucrats than we have today.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Today.
- 25:28Speaker 7: So phenomenal progress there. That means all the net job
- 25:31Speaker 7: growth we have had over the last year is in
- 25:34Speaker 7: the productive private sector, not the unproductive public sector. And
- 25:38Speaker 7: on top of not only where the job's being created,
- 25:40Speaker 7: but who are getting the jobs, in Biden's last year
- 25:44Speaker 7: in office, which I think is very telling because at
- 25:46Speaker 7: that point, all of his policies were really having a
- 25:49Speaker 7: strong effect. The annual change in job growth was going
- 25:53Speaker 7: almost exclusively, no matter which month you look at, to
- 25:56Speaker 7: foreign-born workers, not native-born Americans. Again, fast forward one year,
- 26:02Speaker 7: and Trump has flipped the script, and now the annual
- 26:06Speaker 7: change in terms of employment among foreign-born workers is actually negative,
- 26:11Speaker 7: and it is exclusively on net Americans, native-born Americans, who
- 26:16Speaker 7: are getting jobs. Their employment level has gone up over 800,000
- 26:19Speaker 7: since Trump took office.
- 26:23Speaker 1: There's an effect to government workers that people don't appreciate,
- 26:27Speaker 1: but that you drilled home for me many years ago
- 26:29Speaker 1: that I constantly dwell upon, which is in order to
- 26:33Speaker 1: afford a single government worker, it takes a lot of
- 26:37Speaker 1: Americans to pay for their salary benefits and retirement. Can
- 26:42Speaker 1: you walk us through that? So when we lose, when
- 26:44Speaker 1: we lose, when we get rid of 300,000 federal workers,
- 26:49Speaker 1: that actually relieves the American taxpayer a massive burden, doesn't it?
- 26:53Speaker 7: Absolutely, Vince. You're 100% right. And the dynamic here is
- 26:57Speaker 7: essentially that if you have a private sector worker paying taxes,
- 27:02Speaker 7: they're not paying taxes on their full salary, right? It's
- 27:05Speaker 7: only a portion, although sometimes it feels like a lot more.
- 27:09Speaker 7: It's a portion of their salary that goes to the
- 27:11Speaker 7: federal government in taxes. But of that portion, there are
- 27:15Speaker 7: a lot of other demands on the taxpayer dollar. And
- 27:18Speaker 7: so only a small sliver is of the portion of
- 27:21Speaker 7: federal dollars is actually going to federal employment. What I'm
- 27:24Speaker 7: getting at here, Vince, is that you're going to need
- 27:26Speaker 7: about 80 or so private sector employees, on average at least,
- 27:30Speaker 7: in order to finance a single worker in the federal bureaucracy.
- 27:35Speaker 7: And so again, as you said, every time you get
- 27:38Speaker 7: rid of one of these federal bureaucrats, there's a tremendous
- 27:41Speaker 7: relief in terms of the strain that you have on
- 27:45Speaker 7: the private sector to support all of those public sector workers.
- 27:49Speaker 1: That's a really big deal. Let me do my quick
- 27:52Speaker 1: math here.
- 27:52Speaker 7: Ready?
- 27:53Speaker 1: I'm going to put this. 300,000, let's say, 300,000 workers
- 27:58Speaker 1: times 80 private sector workers. We just relieved 24 million
- 28:04Speaker 1: Americans of the burden of paying for federal workers. It
- 28:09Speaker 1: just seems like a massive victory.
- 28:11Speaker 7: To me, E.J., A hundred percent, it absolutely is. And Vince,
- 28:15Speaker 7: this is part of the reason why when we look
- 28:18Speaker 7: at trends in government spending, or if we look at
- 28:21Speaker 7: government purchases, as it's called within the GDP report, we've
- 28:25Speaker 7: seen really, really good progress in Trump's first term, because
- 28:29Speaker 7: you are reducing the overall amount of expenditure by the
- 28:33Speaker 7: federal government simply by reducing the size of of that
- 28:37Speaker 7: federal bureaucracy. So again, it's great, great progress. In fact,
- 28:42Speaker 7: if you look at in this last GDP report that
- 28:44Speaker 7: we just got, I know people were disappointed by the
- 28:46Speaker 7: headline number, but I actually wasn't. Part of the reason
- 28:50Speaker 7: for that is if you look at how GDP is calculated,
- 28:53Speaker 7: it includes government purchases, and that's going to include all
- 28:57Speaker 7: of this spending at the federal level. Well, what happened
- 29:02Speaker 7: at the federal level, if you just look at non-defense
- 29:05Speaker 7: spending specifically, it fell by the fastest pace since 1972. Now,
- 29:12Speaker 7: some of that was because of the shutdown. So there
- 29:14Speaker 7: were certain purchases that are going to get pushed forward.
- 29:17Speaker 7: into the first quarter of this year. But it's also
- 29:19Speaker 7: because this administration has made such great progress in terms
- 29:24Speaker 7: of reducing federal expenditure.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I do think it's interesting that the only thing that
- 29:29Speaker 1: really got in the way of nonstop GDP success was
- 29:32Speaker 1: the Schumer shutdown. I mean, so President Trump has us
- 29:35Speaker 1: on this course of success after success after success. Then
- 29:39Speaker 1: you look at core four and that data that just
- 29:41Speaker 1: came out Friday. You're like, well, what got in the
- 29:43Speaker 1: way there? Chuck Schumer. Chuck Schumer got in the way there,
- 29:46Speaker 1: which goes to show that everything Democrats touch turns to crap. OK,
- 29:49Speaker 1: so let me talk to you about tariffs. So a big,
- 29:54Speaker 1: big fight in the Supreme Court comes out. Decision comes
- 29:56Speaker 1: out Friday.
- 29:56Speaker 2: OK.
- 29:57Speaker 1: And says the president can't use IEPA, this emergency power,
- 30:01Speaker 1: in order to apply tariffs. But the president says, no problem.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I'll do what Brett Kavanaugh recommended. I'll just apply tariffs
- 30:07Speaker 1: under other means. What is the report card on tariffs?
- 30:11Speaker 1: Did tariffs destroy the economy, EJ? Are we all suffering
- 30:15Speaker 1: now and, you know, struggling, killing for our next meals?
- 30:19Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 30:21Speaker 7: No, I'm happy to report, Vince, that the Hunger Games
- 30:24Speaker 7: have not yet started in the United States of America. No, look,
- 30:28Speaker 7: all of the doom and gloom, it turns out, of course,
- 30:31Speaker 7: it was all wrong. If you look at inflation, it
- 30:35Speaker 7: has not been exploding as the Democrats all said it would.
- 30:38Speaker 7: In fact, even though a lot of our headline inflation indicators,
- 30:43Speaker 7: like the PCE price index, as it's called, that ticked
- 30:47Speaker 7: up in the month of January. But interestingly, if you
- 30:51Speaker 7: look at the versions of that that remove outliers, like
- 30:55Speaker 7: trimmed mean and median PCE, and same thing when you
- 30:58Speaker 7: look at the consumer price index, you look at the
- 31:00Speaker 7: trimmed mean and the median. Again, these are ways of
- 31:03Speaker 7: removing the fastest and the slowest growing or decreasing parts
- 31:07Speaker 7: of the index. And what we find there is that
- 31:10Speaker 7: inflation is actually falling to the lowest level in about
- 31:13Speaker 7: five years. So really, really good news there. Good progress
- 31:17Speaker 7: on the inflation front. In other words, it's one or
- 31:20Speaker 7: two outliers that are causing the big increases. And that's
- 31:23Speaker 7: driven by things like what's happening with the beef supply
- 31:26Speaker 7: right now in terms of the overall size of the
- 31:29Speaker 7: cattle herd in the United States. So again, getting rid
- 31:32Speaker 7: of the extreme shows that inflation is actually doing better,
- 31:36Speaker 7: not worse. It's still not where we want it to be,
- 31:39Speaker 7: but again, doing better, not worse. And same thing when
- 31:41Speaker 7: we look at the labor market, When you look at
- 31:44Speaker 7: manufacturing specifically, all of the things that we were told
- 31:48Speaker 7: are going to fall off a cliff because of Trump's
- 31:50Speaker 7: tariff policies. None of that came to pass.
- 31:53Speaker 1: And also, you know, people like, I know you are
- 31:55Speaker 1: into the dollars and cents of it. Just look at,
- 31:57Speaker 1: you kind of, you just, you look at all this
- 31:59Speaker 1: and say, okay, you know, this is going to make
- 32:01Speaker 1: sense for us. But there's also a, there's a negotiating
- 32:05Speaker 1: element to tariffs, which is Trump uses them as leverage.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Trump applies tariffs to countries. and the expectation that they're
- 32:11Speaker 1: going to come to the table and promise to invest
- 32:13Speaker 1: in the United States. And invariably, he's right. I mean,
- 32:16Speaker 1: it just keeps happening. We have more and more countries.
- 32:18Speaker 1: So that's the final piece for you today, EJ, which
- 32:21Speaker 1: is how meaningful is it that the president, he keeps
- 32:23Speaker 1: telling us that he's secured tens of trillions of dollars
- 32:26Speaker 1: of new investment in the United States. How big of
- 32:29Speaker 1: a deal is that for the state of our economy?
- 32:32Speaker 7: I think it's huge, Vince. It's a great point. I'm
- 32:34Speaker 7: glad you raised it because if we look at the
- 32:36Speaker 7: GDP reports that we were just talking about earlier, we
- 32:39Speaker 7: are seeing that investment boost, which is lifting overall economic growth.
- 32:43Speaker 7: And then if you want to talk about individual sectors
- 32:46Speaker 7: of the economy, in this last jobs report, we saw
- 32:49Speaker 7: a surge in construction jobs of 30,000. And if you
- 32:53Speaker 7: drill down within construction, where are the jobs being created?
- 32:57Speaker 7: It's in factory construction. So even though those factories aren't
- 33:01Speaker 7: yet employing, let's say, manufacturing workers, just their construction is
- 33:05Speaker 7: employing workers already. So you're creating high quality, high paying
- 33:10Speaker 7: blue collar jobs in areas of the countries that desperately
- 33:14Speaker 7: need that relief on the labor market. So yes, the
- 33:17Speaker 7: investment numbers are already paying dividends and it's giving us
- 33:21Speaker 7: a strategic advantage that a lot of people aren't talking about. AI,
- 33:25Speaker 7: as much as we talk about it as it's a
- 33:27Speaker 7: new productivity boom, it's gonna increase wages, and provide more jobs,
- 33:31Speaker 7: et cetera. That's all true. But I think there are
- 33:34Speaker 7: also strategic implications here. To a certain extent, it might
- 33:37Speaker 7: be the new arms race. And so it's imperative that
- 33:41Speaker 7: we get ahead of hostile nations of bad actors like China.
- 33:45Speaker 7: And this is helping us to do exactly that.
- 33:48Speaker 1: All right. I saw somebody in the chat say that
- 33:51Speaker 1: you should debate AOC. And given that AOC is also
- 33:54Speaker 1: an economist, people might not realize she's an undergraduate degree
- 33:58Speaker 1: in in the economy. Are you prepared to debate AOC?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Would you need some prep time? And can we host
- 34:04Speaker 1: a debate between you and the Congresswoman?
- 34:07Speaker 7: Not only are we both economists, Vince, we were both bartenders.
- 34:11Speaker 7: So I'd be happy to debate a fellow bartender.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I can't wait for that debate. I volunteer as moderator. Hey,
- 34:20Speaker 1: thank you, EJ and Tony. Good to have you with
- 34:22Speaker 1: us today, brother.
- 34:23Speaker 7: Thank you, Vince. Always a pleasure.
- 34:25Speaker 1: There he is, EJ and Tony. And like I said,
- 34:27Speaker 1: he's the in-house economist. He's at times the in-house bartender,
- 34:32Speaker 1: of course. And the other thing is some people in
- 34:34Speaker 1: the chat know this. This guy's also my first cousin.
- 34:37Speaker 1: People don't realize that I just have, yeah, no, it's genetic.
- 34:41Speaker 1: It's genetic. You're like, wow, how did you get such
- 34:43Speaker 1: an amazing guy on the show? Well, we're just genetically awesome.
- 34:46Speaker 1: That's why.
- 34:47Speaker 2: That's why.
- 34:47Speaker 1: It's the greatest. Anyway, there's EJ. Thanks, EJ. Good to
- 34:51Speaker 1: have you on the show. And I really do. You know,
- 34:54Speaker 1: the great thing about having EJ as my economist, I'm
- 34:56Speaker 1: constantly texting and calling him. What do I make of this?
- 34:58Speaker 1: What do you think about this? In fact, Friday, when
- 35:00Speaker 1: the tariff decision came down, the first guy I called
- 35:02Speaker 1: was EJ. I was like, hey, what do you make
- 35:04Speaker 1: of this? And he walked me through it. It was great.
- 35:06Speaker 1: It was really great. It's always nice to have somebody
- 35:08Speaker 1: like that in the corner. Yeah, 80 to 1. Isn't
- 35:10Speaker 1: that amazing, Red Waving? Red Waving points it out, 80
- 35:13Speaker 1: to 1. 80 private sector workers to fund one federal worker.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Trump just took that burden off of 24 million Americans.
- 35:24Speaker 1: It's an amazing, an amazing piece of data, an amazing
- 35:27Speaker 1: piece of data. All right. A lot more ahead on
- 35:30Speaker 1: the program. Before we get there, I want to thank
- 35:32Speaker 1: the great sponsors who keep it ticking. And that includes

- 38:21Speaker 1: That's okay. That's okay. Different cups for different folks. Let's see,
- 38:26Speaker 1: I've got one more thing for you on the economy.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Peter Navarro, remember Peter Navarro? He's a great American. Last
- 38:37Speaker 1: year in April, he made a prediction. He went on television.
- 38:40Speaker 1: He made a prediction about how the economy we would
- 38:43Speaker 1: be doing by the end of this Trump term, the
- 38:46Speaker 1: end of the Trump term. He said, by the end
- 38:48Speaker 1: of the Trump term, the Dow is going to hit 50,000.
- 38:55Speaker 1: By the end of the term, here's what Peter Navarro said.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Come forward, watch. Let's talk about the markets, the uncertainty
- 39:00Speaker 1: out there, and the volatility. Do you expect it to continue?
- 39:03Speaker 7: Because everybody keeps asking me where I think the market's
- 39:05Speaker 7: going to open on Monday.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Sure.
- 39:09Speaker 8: The first rule, particularly for the smaller investors out there,
- 39:12Speaker 8: you can't lose money unless you sell. And right now,
- 39:15Speaker 8: the smart strategy is not to panic, just stay in,
- 39:19Speaker 8: because we are going to have the biggest boom in
- 39:21Speaker 8: the stock market we've ever seen under the Trump policies.
- 39:25Speaker 8: We will find a bottom in this market quickly. We
- 39:28Speaker 8: will hit 50,000 on the Dow easily by the end
- 39:32Speaker 8: of this term.
- 39:34Speaker 1: By the end of this term, that's a heck of
- 39:36Speaker 1: a prediction. Now, just to be clear, so you have
- 39:40Speaker 1: some sense of where things were, when he said this
- 39:42Speaker 1: in April of last year, the Dow was at 38,000.
- 39:44Speaker 1: We just hit 50K. About a week or so ago,
- 39:50Speaker 1: we hit 50,000 on the Dow. It hasn't even been
- 39:54Speaker 1: a year. We hit 50,000. Now, today, it's down a
- 39:57Speaker 1: little bit. It's down to 49,000. But we're now playing
- 40:00Speaker 1: in the 50,000 territory. Peter Navarro said this wasn't going
- 40:03Speaker 1: to happen. But, well, he said it was going to
- 40:06Speaker 1: happen at some point before the end of the term.
- 40:08Speaker 1: That prediction came true even quicker than he could have
- 40:10Speaker 1: possibly anticipated. And that's what, you know, that example leads
- 40:16Speaker 1: a fascinating piece that was published this week. out of
- 40:19Speaker 1: all places in USA Today, where they say that Trump's
- 40:22Speaker 1: economy is resilient and he deserves more credit for it.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Why doesn't he get more credit? Tim Swerin's writing at
- 40:30Speaker 1: USA Today saying that he heard Peter Navarro make that
- 40:33Speaker 1: prediction on television. He goes, I resisted the urge to
- 40:37Speaker 1: roll my eyes like a 12-year-old. Instead, I muttered, yeah, right.
- 40:41Speaker 1: It turns out I was happily wrong and Navarro was right,
- 40:45Speaker 1: much to the relief of the 62% of American adults
- 40:48Speaker 1: who own stocks, 62%. Lots of people have, whether it's
- 40:53Speaker 1: a 401k, a little bit of money in the market,
- 40:55Speaker 1: a lot of people have exposure to the stock market.
- 40:58Speaker 1: They're the beneficiaries of President Trump's work. And even if
- 41:02Speaker 1: you don't have exposure to the stock market, the fact
- 41:06Speaker 1: is when American companies have more capital, they can spend
- 41:10Speaker 1: it and that energizes the American economy. They can hire
- 41:12Speaker 1: more people. They can do more things. It's a very
- 41:14Speaker 1: good thing. So they say he says in this piece
- 41:20Speaker 1: that for the companies in our economy, the S &
- 41:22Speaker 1: P 500 companies, more than 75 percent of them recorded
- 41:27Speaker 1: year over year earnings growth in the fourth quarter of
- 41:30Speaker 1: last year. More than 75 percent had earnings growth. That's
- 41:33Speaker 1: the highest percentage in over four years. Let me put
- 41:37Speaker 1: that differently. That's the highest percentage since the last time
- 41:42Speaker 1: Donald Trump was president of the United States. Joe Biden
- 41:46Speaker 1: didn't have ears like this. Trump does, just to be clear.
- 41:50Speaker 1: That's a reflection of strength and resiliency, not only in
- 41:52Speaker 1: those companies, but also in the broader economy. Recession fears?
- 41:56Speaker 1: Be damned.
- 41:57Speaker 6: All right.
- 41:58Speaker 1: So we'll keep focusing on how the economy is doing.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Every time Paul Krugman and all these other idiots tell
- 42:04Speaker 1: us that Trump's going to collapse it, I mean, they're
- 42:06Speaker 1: really wish-casting. They really want you to suffer economically. How
- 42:11Speaker 1: often have you heard that? People who hate Trump, who
- 42:13Speaker 1: want the economy to suffer, just so Donald Trump somehow
- 42:17Speaker 1: loses politically. It's gross stuff, super gross. All right, one
- 42:23Speaker 1: more thing for you today on the state of the union.
- 42:28Speaker 1: So we talked about the border. We talked about the economy. Let's,
- 42:33Speaker 1: for a quick moment, talk about foreign policy. Earlier this year,
- 42:38Speaker 1: we saw something really big. The president of the United
- 42:41Speaker 1: States ordered a mission to take out Nicolas Maduro the
- 42:45Speaker 1: phony leader of Venezuela. And man, that thing was a
- 42:49Speaker 1: huge success. They go in there, they grab Maduro and
- 42:52Speaker 1: his wife, they pull him out of the country, now
- 42:55Speaker 1: in the United States facing prosecution. And the United States
- 42:59Speaker 1: has successfully kept Venezuela running and is now moving oil
- 43:03Speaker 1: revenue there so that the people can benefit from it.
- 43:06Speaker 1: That's not a situation that was happening before. So what
- 43:10Speaker 1: has that mission shown to the rest of the world? Well,
- 43:14Speaker 1: it's definitely proven that President Trump, once again, is serious
- 43:18Speaker 1: when he says that he wants to deal with these
- 43:21Speaker 1: problems all around the planet. And he's not just paying
- 43:23Speaker 1: lip service to it. He'll take action when necessary, whether
- 43:26Speaker 1: that's going in and grabbing Maduro or whether it's Operation
- 43:29Speaker 1: Midnight Hammer, blowing up the Iranian nuclear regime's capabilities.
- 43:35Speaker 3: It's pretty.
- 43:36Speaker 1: amazing what he's been able to do. And everybody else
- 43:40Speaker 1: is getting the message, which led to a gigantic event
- 43:43Speaker 1: that took place this weekend in Mexico. That event was
- 43:48Speaker 1: Mexican special forces killing a cartel leader called El Mencho,
- 43:53Speaker 1: the leader of the Jalisco New Generation cartel. When we
- 43:58Speaker 1: think of the cartels, we often think of the Sinaloa
- 44:01Speaker 1: cartel and the Jalisco cartel. And in this case, this
- 44:04Speaker 1: is the head of the Jalisco cartel who was killed off.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I had an extensive conversation on the radio show yesterday
- 44:09Speaker 1: with Brandon Darby. He's a cartel expert reporter who works
- 44:13Speaker 1: for Breitbart. And he said, Vince, this is just the
- 44:16Speaker 1: biggest possible guy you could take down ever. It's the
- 44:20Speaker 1: most powerful drug kingpin in Mexico. And the Mexican special
- 44:27Speaker 1: forces finally took him out. Now, That was a very
- 44:32Speaker 1: challenging task for a number of reasons, and not just
- 44:35Speaker 1: because this El Mencho character was very well protected by
- 44:39Speaker 1: his own cartel military forces. It's also because the Mexican
- 44:44Speaker 1: government itself is deeply corrupt, that efforts to go after
- 44:48Speaker 1: El Mencho in the past would have constantly been suffocated
- 44:51Speaker 1: by corrupt officials within the government. In fact, so far
- 44:56Speaker 1: this year and during this Trump presidency, Claudia Scheinbaum, the
- 45:01Speaker 1: president of Mexico, has been sending a lot of cartel members,
- 45:05Speaker 1: drug traffickers, to the United States because President Trump has
- 45:09Speaker 1: demanded to take them into custody. But the reality of
- 45:12Speaker 1: that is... Most of those people have been Sinaloa. They
- 45:15Speaker 1: have not been from the Jalisco cartel. They've been Sinaloa.
- 45:20Speaker 1: And that's for a reason, as Brandon described to me yesterday.
- 45:23Speaker 1: The reason is because Claudia Scheinbaum's administration is corrupt and
- 45:29Speaker 1: in bed with Jalisco. And as a result... Taking Sinaloa
- 45:34Speaker 1: cartel members off the board benefited the Jalisco cartel. So
- 45:39Speaker 1: they took advantage of President Trump's efforts to crack down
- 45:42Speaker 1: on the flow of drugs into the United States. By
- 45:45Speaker 1: the way, that fentanyl killing over 100,000 Americans a year.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Both of those cartels responsible for sending that deadly poison
- 45:53Speaker 1: into the United States. Well, that's not good enough for
- 45:57Speaker 1: President Trump. It can't just be Sinaloa. And so what
- 46:00Speaker 1: has happened is... Finally, they took out Almencho. Now, it's
- 46:04Speaker 1: led to dramatic chaos in the streets of Mexico, warnings
- 46:08Speaker 1: for Americans who are traveling within the country. It's a
- 46:11Speaker 1: chaotic moment right now, but this is only the kind
- 46:15Speaker 1: of progress that can be made with President Trump as
- 46:17Speaker 1: President of the United States, not with a Joe Biden,
- 46:19Speaker 1: not with anybody else. It's with President Trump. In fact,
- 46:23Speaker 1: it's not a secret at this point that American intelligence
- 46:26Speaker 1: and advice was essential to the role here. Caroline Leavitt
- 46:30Speaker 1: at the White House said, the United States did provide
- 46:32Speaker 1: intelligence to the Mexican government in order to assist with
- 46:36Speaker 1: the operation in Talpalpa, Jalisco, Mexico. Talpalpa is kind of
- 46:41Speaker 1: a getaway town in the mountains where, think of it
- 46:45Speaker 1: almost like an Airbnb cabin area, where El Mencho decided
- 46:49Speaker 1: to go meet one of his girlfriends for a romantic
- 46:53Speaker 1: cabin getaway that proved to be ill-fated because Mexican special
- 46:57Speaker 1: forces tracked the girlfriend. going into the building, and then
- 47:00Speaker 1: they knew where Almencia would be. They chased him down
- 47:04Speaker 1: through the woods, eventually killing him, which is a kind
- 47:08Speaker 1: of a wild story, which I imagine at some point
- 47:09Speaker 1: will be made into a movie. Now, how did Mexican
- 47:12Speaker 1: special forces get ready for this? Interesting. There are reports
- 47:17Speaker 1: that it was the Navy SEALs who prepared them. In fact,
- 47:21Speaker 1: there's a website here called Border Report, Border Report, that
- 47:25Speaker 1: reported back on February 12th, this year, February 12th, about
- 47:31Speaker 1: two weeks ago, that Mexican lawmakers, excuse me, yes, Mexican
- 47:36Speaker 1: lawmakers approved the arrival of SEAL Team 2 in Mexico
- 47:41Speaker 1: on a training mission. So this is not a secret.
- 47:43Speaker 1: This was done by the Mexican legislature, this approval. Lawmakers
- 47:48Speaker 1: in Mexico have authorized the entry into their country of
- 47:50Speaker 1: 19 members of U.S. Navy SEAL Team 2 to for
- 47:54Speaker 1: the purpose of training Mexican special forces. Then they go
- 47:58Speaker 1: on to say that they're authorized to be there through
- 48:00Speaker 1: April 16th. They're coming at the invitation of President Claudia Scheinbaum,
- 48:04Speaker 1: who has publicly expressed desire to better prepare her military
- 48:07Speaker 1: and law enforcement to stop drug cartel violence. Well, not
- 48:12Speaker 1: really sure, not really sure what, uh, you know, what
- 48:17Speaker 1: role they played in particular. But I can't believe that
- 48:20Speaker 1: it's some sort of massive coincidence that SEAL Team 2
- 48:23Speaker 1: arrived just in time to work with Mexican special forces
- 48:28Speaker 1: before Mexican special forces took down one of the biggest
- 48:32Speaker 1: cartel leaders on the planet. Doesn't exactly seem like a coincidence,
- 48:36Speaker 1: but I just tell you what the breadcrumbs tell me.
- 48:39Speaker 1: And it sure looks like the president of the United
- 48:41Speaker 1: States has done something really big here. Now, finally, I
- 48:45Speaker 1: mentioned to you that that decision to go after Maduro
- 48:49Speaker 1: has paid off internationally. That's just the reality of the situation.
- 48:57Speaker 1: In this, in fact, this piece, let me see if
- 49:00Speaker 1: it's in this piece. Yes, here it is. Check this out.
- 49:05Speaker 1: This is in the piece, the border report piece. They write,
- 49:09Speaker 1: Wednesday's Senate vote to allow CLTM2 into the country was
- 49:13Speaker 1: nearly unanimous, but not without debate. Many, including Scheinbaum, are
- 49:17Speaker 1: still reeling from the lightning fast American incursion into Caracas
- 49:23Speaker 1: to arrest former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro on drug and
- 49:27Speaker 1: other charges. It's another way of saying, holy shit, he's serious.
- 49:33Speaker 1: We've seen this before. Trump's not playing. Trump's not playing.
- 49:40Speaker 1: That's the conclusion in Mexico, which is why a major
- 49:43Speaker 1: cartel leader was just taken out. Very, very big deal.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Very big deal. Remarkable. Tonight, in attendance at that State
- 49:54Speaker 1: of the Union, the men's hockey team, the Team USA
- 49:58Speaker 1: men's hockey team has just arrived back in America. They
- 50:01Speaker 1: spent the day yesterday. They arrived in Miami yesterday, and
- 50:04Speaker 1: then they were partying last night at a Miami club
- 50:07Speaker 1: en route to the Capitol today. to join the president
- 50:11Speaker 1: at the State of the Union. I have seen some
- 50:15Speaker 1: things about Speaker Johnson's trying to figure out a way
- 50:17Speaker 1: to accommodate the team. There's limited seating in the room.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Here's the thing. I don't know why you can't just
- 50:24Speaker 1: make a special rule to let these guys sit on
- 50:25Speaker 1: the floor. If Democrats are all going to be boycotting
- 50:29Speaker 1: the State of the Union, a lot of them are.
- 50:30Speaker 1: They've all announced, I'm not going, I'm not going, I'm
- 50:32Speaker 1: not going to dignify this. Okay, good. Get the hell out.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Leave your empty seat available. And then let's put members
- 50:38Speaker 1: of Team USA inside of those seats. I know Speaker
- 50:41Speaker 1: Johnson said something yesterday to the press, like, well, there
- 50:43Speaker 1: are rules. These are only for members. You know, this
- 50:46Speaker 1: is an official congressional event. Well, then change the rules.
- 50:49Speaker 1: You're the Speaker of the House. Just put forward a
- 50:51Speaker 1: rule change for today, a temporary rule change that allows
- 50:54Speaker 1: those seats to be used in this way. You know,
- 50:59Speaker 1: it'd be great. Let the gold medalists who actually love
- 51:04Speaker 1: our country, who... Tell me something. Don't you think Jack
- 51:08Speaker 1: Hughes represents our country better than Ilhan Omar? Speaking of
- 51:14Speaker 1: a representative, why don't we put Jack Hughes in one
- 51:17Speaker 1: of the seats on the floor, put him near the
- 51:20Speaker 1: Supreme Court justices, and let's have a great State of
- 51:22Speaker 1: the Union. I think it'll be phenomenal. Anyway, something to
- 51:25Speaker 1: think about. But those guys came back yesterday to Miami,
- 51:29Speaker 1: and they were super happy. They were super happy to
- 51:31Speaker 1: be home. And they were super happy that President Trump
- 51:33Speaker 1: asked them to come and called them to congratulate them.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Here's a Team USA hockey player, Matthew Kachuk. Great name.
- 51:40Speaker 1: He says he loves that President Trump called. Watch, cut five.
- 51:45Speaker 1: It was super cool.
- 51:47Speaker 9: It was an honor. It really is, hearing from the
- 51:49Speaker 9: President of the United States, hearing that he was supporting
- 51:53Speaker 9: us and supporting us and all the other athletes and
- 51:58Speaker 9: wanting us all to bring home as many gold medals
- 51:59Speaker 9: as we can. So we're definitely honored to represent him
- 52:03Speaker 9: and the millions, hundreds of millions across the country in
- 52:05Speaker 9: bringing the gold medal back.
- 52:08Speaker 1: You know, what an appropriate and upstanding way to handle
- 52:12Speaker 1: a question like that. Now, I don't know if this
- 52:13Speaker 1: guy is a big Trump supporter or not, but he
- 52:15Speaker 1: just did the mature thing, which is like it's a
- 52:17Speaker 1: total honor for the president of the United States to
- 52:19Speaker 1: call and to congratulate the team on behalf of the
- 52:23Speaker 1: United States and then extend an invitation for us to
- 52:25Speaker 1: come to the State of the Union. It's a total
- 52:27Speaker 1: honor for that to happen. And that's just true. That's
- 52:29Speaker 1: just flatly true. It is an honor. And good for
- 52:33Speaker 1: him for saying it out loud. Why does that have
- 52:35Speaker 1: to be a courageous thing? in 2026. And yet it
- 52:38Speaker 1: is because, you know, the left has so demonized Donald Trump,
- 52:40Speaker 1: they make it seem ridiculous that you would appreciate presidential
- 52:45Speaker 1: generosity in that way. Here's another one. Here's Jack Hughes,
- 52:49Speaker 1: toothless Jack. Jack's great. He says he's going to get
- 52:52Speaker 1: the teeth fixed because he's got to get that great
- 52:54Speaker 1: smile back. But here he is saying that, look, we
- 52:56Speaker 1: won this gold for all the guys that came before
- 52:58Speaker 1: us and all the young kids that are coming next.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Watch.
- 53:02Speaker 6: The best part is, I was saying this, the day
- 53:05Speaker 6: of the gold medal, it's for all the guys that
- 53:06Speaker 6: have come before us and all the young kids that
- 53:09Speaker 6: are going to come after us. Just like when I
- 53:14Speaker 6: was a kid, I was growing up dreaming of being
- 53:16Speaker 6: where I'm at now, and in 10 years there's going
- 53:19Speaker 6: to be another Austin Matthews, there's going to be another
- 53:22Speaker 6: Matthew Kachuk, and another Quinn Hughes. That's why we play,
- 53:25Speaker 6: and we want to.
- 53:27Speaker 6: Leave USA Hockey in a better place than it was
- 53:30Speaker 6: when we first got there.
- 53:32Speaker 1: You know, I saw online some lefties sharing a video
- 53:36Speaker 1: of him, I think from 2024, I believe, where he
- 53:42Speaker 1: paid lip service to some stupid question the interviewer was
- 53:45Speaker 1: asking about pride flags or whatever. And he gave like
- 53:49Speaker 1: some sort of, you know, reflexive, like, I'm going to
- 53:53Speaker 1: survive the interview answer. to it that sort of genuflected
- 53:57Speaker 1: to whatever the left-wing talking point was at the time.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Can I just remind everybody of something before you try
- 54:01Speaker 1: and use that as some big-owned lefties? That guy's 24
- 54:06Speaker 1: years old, Jack Hughes. He's 24. He's a kid. He's
- 54:10Speaker 1: a kid, with all due respect to those of you
- 54:12Speaker 1: in your 20s, but he's 24. He was 22, 21
- 54:15Speaker 1: years old? When he did an interview where some lefty
- 54:20Speaker 1: psychopath was like, what do you think of the pride flag?
- 54:23Speaker 1: And he's just trying to figure out how to keep
- 54:24Speaker 1: his career alive at the time. I'm not going to
- 54:28Speaker 1: harshly judge him for saying stupid things. And guess what?
- 54:32Speaker 1: We all say stupid things when we're young. We tend
- 54:35Speaker 1: to learn through the passage of time and hopefully we
- 54:36Speaker 1: get better. I can't say the same for Democrats, but
- 54:39Speaker 1: hopefully the rest of us, we've learned from our mistakes.
- 54:42Speaker 1: But man, that guy has just been phenomenal. I just love,
- 54:44Speaker 1: I love every word that's come out of his toothless
- 54:46Speaker 1: mouth ever since that victory. It's been great. Just loves
- 54:49Speaker 1: our country, really appreciates it, and is super proud that
- 54:51Speaker 1: he can represent it. And on his way, on his
- 54:55Speaker 1: way to the State of the Union tonight. I can't
- 54:58Speaker 1: wait for that. I love how angry, I love how
- 55:01Speaker 1: angry the left is about it. It only adds to
- 55:04Speaker 1: the joy. Speaking of videos that are getting a lot
- 55:08Speaker 1: of attention right now, let me move to a Well, actually,
- 55:12Speaker 1: before I do that, before I do that, sorry, a
- 55:14Speaker 1: broken segue. One more thing on attendees tonight.
- 55:19Speaker 3: The U.S.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Women's team has declined to go to the State of
- 55:23Speaker 1: the Union despite the fact that President Trump sent them
- 55:26Speaker 1: an invitation. Now, this right now is being used as
- 55:31Speaker 1: some sort of dunk by the left. See, the women
- 55:34Speaker 1: don't want to go and see that psycho Trump and
- 55:37Speaker 1: all this nonsense. If that is what you conclude from this,
- 55:41Speaker 1: you didn't actually read the statements from the women's team.
- 55:46Speaker 1: The women's hockey team declined the State of the Union invitation,
- 55:51Speaker 1: but they said they were very grateful that President Trump
- 55:55Speaker 1: extended it. They said, quote, we are sincerely grateful for
- 55:59Speaker 1: the invitation extended to our gold medal winning U.S. women's
- 56:02Speaker 1: hockey team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional
- 56:10Speaker 1: commitments following the games, the athletes are unable to participate.
- 56:14Speaker 1: They were honored to be included and grateful for the acknowledgement.
- 56:21Speaker 1: This is a perfectly fine statement. It's not cause for
- 56:29Speaker 1: negative judgment towards anybody. Look, if they've got a conflict,
- 56:32Speaker 1: they've got a conflict. It is too bad. I agree,
- 56:34Speaker 1: Cowboy Mama. I really wanted them to be there. And
- 56:37Speaker 1: actually the one caveat I'll add is like, I do
- 56:40Speaker 1: think it's, it's a little odd for some team representative
- 56:43Speaker 1: for like a USA hockey person to represent all of
- 56:45Speaker 1: the women. Are there any of the women who might
- 56:47Speaker 1: want to go? I kind of feel like they could
- 56:49Speaker 1: do that on an individual basis if they wanted to.
- 56:52Speaker 1: But the answer right now out of the team USA
- 56:54Speaker 1: women is that they're not going to be there, but
- 56:56Speaker 1: they're very grateful to the president for extending the invitation.
- 56:59Speaker 1: And they're very appreciative of the recognition. Fair enough. Fair enough.
- 57:02Speaker 1: That's a perfectly nice statement. and not cause for lefty
- 57:07Speaker 1: dunking or whatever. So there you go. Finally today, finally
- 57:12Speaker 1: today with you, I wanted to give you an update
- 57:15Speaker 1: on Gavin Newsom's horse crap. President Trump posted to Truth
- 57:19Speaker 1: Social that his presidential run is over. Hilarious. The reason
- 57:23Speaker 1: for that is because everybody's paying attention to the fact
- 57:25Speaker 1: that Gavin Newsom, speaking in Georgia this past weekend, told
- 57:30Speaker 1: an audience that the original reports is that they were
- 57:34Speaker 1: an all black crowd. It turns out it's a racially
- 57:36Speaker 1: diverse crowd with a black moderator, but that doesn't really
- 57:41Speaker 1: improve the situation. He told this entire crowd to include
- 57:45Speaker 1: the black moderator that he's as stupid as they are,
- 57:49Speaker 1: he can't read. Remember this? Watch this, cut seven.
- 57:54Speaker 10: I'm not trying to impress you. I'm just trying to
- 57:57Speaker 10: impress upon you.
- 57:58Speaker 1: I'm like you.
- 58:00Speaker 10: I'm no better than you. You know, I'm a 960
- 58:04Speaker 10: SAT guy. And, you know, and I'm not trying to
- 58:09Speaker 10: offend anyone, you know, trying to act all there if
- 58:12Speaker 10: you got 940. But literally a 960 SAT guy. I cannot,
- 58:19Speaker 10: you've never seen me read a speech because I cannot
- 58:24Speaker 10: read a speech. This may be the wrong business to
- 58:28Speaker 10: be in.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Nicki Minaj reacted to this. Did you see Nicki's reaction?
- 58:39Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Craig did. Craig saw it. Nicki Minaj said this. His
- 58:43Speaker 1: way of bonding with black people is to tell them
- 58:45Speaker 1: how stupid he is and that he can't read. This
- 58:47Speaker 1: means my first read on him was correct. He's been
- 58:51Speaker 1: handed so many things and put in high positions he
- 58:53Speaker 1: never earned or deserved. You want to know the craziest
- 58:55Speaker 1: part of this footage that will haunt him forever? He's
- 58:57Speaker 1: literally slowing his speech down. and talking in a sporadic cadence.
- 59:02Speaker 1: He's not just telling them that they're all probably stupid
- 59:04Speaker 1: and probably can't read. He's literally slowing down his speech
- 59:08Speaker 1: to make them understand the words that are coming out
- 59:10Speaker 1: of his mouth as if they're children. That means he
- 59:12Speaker 1: really believes they're slow. He's not just saying it. He
- 59:15Speaker 1: didn't misspeak. He believes it. Do you love it? Do
- 59:18Speaker 1: you just love it, black people? You know, this reminds me,
- 59:21Speaker 1: the Washington Post had a piece a in order to
- 59:31Speaker 1: speak to black people. Do you guys remember this? This
- 59:34Speaker 1: is a Washington Post piece. White liberals dumb themselves down
- 59:37Speaker 1: when they speak to black people, a new study contends.
- 59:42Speaker 1: They talk about, they start with like a book club
- 59:45Speaker 1: or something. They said that when it comes to white libs,
- 59:51Speaker 1: they will dumb down their language, which if they're talking
- 59:54Speaker 1: to a black person, so they might not use words
- 59:56Speaker 1: like melancholy and euphoric if they're talking to a black person,
- 59:59Speaker 1: they might use sad or happy with a woman, a
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: fictional woman called Lakeisha. But if you're a white conservative,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: your diction won't depend on the presumed race of your interlocutor.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: In other words, you're not going to change your language
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: based on somebody's skin color. It's a racial and political
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: disparity that was discovered by social psychologists. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I don't really know how much scientific research you needed
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: to conclude that. I think I could have told you
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: that's the way it happens. But isn't that wild? That was, yeah,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: that Washington Post piece. When was that published? That was
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: years ago.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: 2018.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: That was 2018. Very long time ago. Still true today.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: But here's the update on this story. Gavin Newsom, it
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: turns out, we just got a flashback of Gavin Newsom.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Just a couple months ago, he was sitting down with
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: a couple of white authors, and he told them not
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: only that he could read, but that he sprinted through
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: their excellent new book, Cut Eight.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Watch.
- 1:00:56Speaker 10: You've written a hell of a book, and I don't
- 1:00:58Speaker 10: say that lightly. I went through it in a quick
- 1:01:02Speaker 10: hour and a half, almost two hours. And trust me,
- 1:01:05Speaker 10: I don't read very fast, but it reads at an
- 1:01:08Speaker 10: unbelievable pace. It's so well written. And of course, it's
- 1:01:12Speaker 10: so familiar because I felt a little bit adjacent to
- 1:01:15Speaker 10: so much of the subject matter. But it's 18 chapters.
- 1:01:18Speaker 10: It's an impressive piece of work. 263 or so pages to.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I sprinted through it. It was one of the fastest
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: reads of my life. I was like, you know, not
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: a super fast reader, but man, I flew through that book.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: That's wild. That guy lies like he breathes easily, very easily.
